- 0:01Speaker 1: How are you doing, stranger?
- 0:02Speaker 2: Well, welcome back. It's good to be back. We both
- 0:06Speaker 2: were California-bound last week, which was pretty cool. You had
- 0:10Speaker 2: a nice vacation. I had a great event. And for KRLA,
- 0:14Speaker 2: our home there, the Salem home at AM 870, the
- 0:18Speaker 2: home of Jen Horn, who's my dear, dear friend out there.
- 0:21Speaker 2: Got to hang out with Larry Elder and Alex Marlow
- 0:24Speaker 2: and Larry O'Connor. And, of course, Jen. And the great
- 0:29Speaker 2: Steve Hilton was there. We got to interact with him. And,
- 0:32Speaker 2: you know, this fascinating kid, Nick Shirley, he was the draw.
- 0:38Speaker 2: He was the hit. I mean, us big mouth talk
- 0:41Speaker 2: show hosts, we certainly have our supporters. But that crowd
- 0:46Speaker 2: loved Nick.
- 0:47Speaker 1: Give everybody the paragraph on him and sort of the
- 0:50Speaker 1: online projects that have brought him fame.
- 0:52Speaker 2: Well, anybody who's ever been on social media knows him
- 0:55Speaker 2: because he pops up everywhere. He's kind of like, in
- 0:58Speaker 2: a way, an activist Charlie Kirk. You know, he's always
- 1:01Speaker 2: got a hoodie on. He's uncovered tons of fraud in California,
- 1:07Speaker 2: in Minnesota. He's one of these citizen activist journalists that
- 1:12Speaker 2: goes around with a can. It's really just him. But now, sadly,
- 1:17Speaker 2: and I saw it firsthand, and his security... Because he
- 1:21Speaker 2: is under constant threat of death from the angry, vicious,
- 1:26Speaker 2: violent Democrat left. Let's remember, these aren't Republicans who have
- 1:31Speaker 2: to put people like Nick Shirley on notice. It's Democrats.
- 1:36Speaker 2: It's leftists. It's these violent activists on the left, these horrible,
- 1:40Speaker 2: horrible people. And what's fascinating to me about Nick— I mean,
- 1:44Speaker 2: he's a rock star. And I don't say– I say
- 1:48Speaker 2: this lovingly. He's got the personality of a speed bump.
- 1:52Speaker 2: I mean, this kid is not exactly Norman Vincent Peale
- 1:57Speaker 2: from the pulpit or anything. I mean, he's not– he's very–
- 2:00Speaker 2: but that's the beauty of what he is because that
- 2:04Speaker 2: proves he's in it for the right reasons.
- 2:06Speaker 1: But he's not a showboat. He's not driven by ego. No.
- 2:10Speaker 2: No. He's this kid with a hoodie, goes around with
- 2:14Speaker 2: a camera and exposes the Lurie Center in Minnesota and
- 2:19Speaker 2: the millions and millions of dollars of fraud and waste.
- 2:22Speaker 2: And we love him for that. And the fact that
- 2:25Speaker 2: he's not a particularly, you know, effusive guy or speaker,
- 2:30Speaker 2: that's endearing to me. It's like he's real, Mark. You
- 2:33Speaker 2: know that word authentic.
- 2:35Speaker 1: Yes. I was going to go right to the A word.
- 2:37Speaker 1: He's authentic and not phony. Not everybody has to have
- 2:40Speaker 1: the patter of a used car salesman.
- 2:42Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:42Speaker 1: Or even a talk show host in going about their business.
- 2:44Speaker 2: Yeah, so we just had a great time. I mean, L.A.,
- 2:47Speaker 2: not exactly my favorite city in the world to visit
- 2:50Speaker 2: because it was only about two hours from the airport
- 2:53Speaker 2: to the hotel because I landed stupidly at 4 or
- 2:56Speaker 2: 5 in the afternoon.
- 2:57Speaker 1: I was going to say. two hours from the airport
- 2:58Speaker 1: of the hotel was eight miles.
- 3:00Speaker 2: Oh, yeah. If that was ridiculous. I don't know how
- 3:03Speaker 2: they do it out there. I don't know how they
- 3:05Speaker 2: put it. I mean, it's beautiful, the mountains, the palm trees,
- 3:09Speaker 2: but it's just a very different kind of place. And then,
- 3:11Speaker 2: of course, I had my... You were teasing me because
- 3:15Speaker 2: I am... I'm trying to clean up the star blank word.
- 3:19Speaker 2: I'm a stargazer. Let's put it that way. I'm a stargazer.
- 3:23Speaker 2: How about that? Now, I'm really wanting to say something else,
- 3:25Speaker 2: but I can't say that on the radio. But I'm
- 3:28Speaker 2: a star. I'm a stargazer. And so when I see
- 3:31Speaker 2: a famous person, I think it's kind of neat. In
- 3:34Speaker 2: a normal setting. So I get to go out of
- 3:36Speaker 2: this fancy she-she lounge in L.A. twice a year for
- 3:41Speaker 2: free because of my Amex card. They also have this
- 3:44Speaker 2: same lounge now at DFW. And Mark and Lisa need
- 3:47Speaker 2: to be— We.
- 3:52Speaker 1: Will be tased. Why? Because I don't have the grand
- 3:55Speaker 1: poobah card that you have.
- 3:58Speaker 2: Yeah, but you're a big superstar in Dallas-Fort Worth. You
- 4:01Speaker 2: don't need to bother with the masses in the terminal.
- 4:04Speaker 2: Let me tell you what you can do.
- 4:05Speaker 1: I have tried. Because I've got a pretty hoity-toity American
- 4:09Speaker 1: Express card.
- 4:10Speaker 2: Sure.
- 4:10Speaker 1: And you always hope maybe you can find listeners to
- 4:13Speaker 1: help do your bidding. I tried at one point to
- 4:15Speaker 1: get into one of the lounges, one of the particularly
- 4:18Speaker 1: frou-frou lounges. They looked at me like I had crawled
- 4:21Speaker 1: out from under a bridge. This is maybe four or
- 4:24Speaker 1: five years ago. I don't pretend there's something magical. You've
- 4:28Speaker 1: got to have the card, and it's the card that
- 4:32Speaker 1: you have.
- 4:33Speaker 2: Right, and the card that I have gives me some perks,
- 4:37Speaker 2: and one of the perks is you get to use
- 4:38Speaker 2: it for free twice a year, right? Because it ain't cheap.
- 4:42Speaker 2: It's $ 1, 200, I think, a visit. But what it does is—
- 4:45Speaker 2: For an airport lounge? Yes, per visit.
- 4:49Speaker 1: What do they do in there? I hesitate to ask.
- 4:51Speaker 2: Can I tell you what they do in there? Please do.
- 4:54Speaker 2: First of all, you go in there and you get
- 4:56Speaker 2: about a 10-course meal. It's this private— this is where all
- 5:00Speaker 2: the L.A. celebrities go to avoid the unwashed masses in
- 5:04Speaker 2: the terminal. And TSA, by the way. It's got its
- 5:07Speaker 2: private TSA. It's got its wonderful servers and food and
- 5:11Speaker 2: everything else. But here's the best part of all. When
- 5:13Speaker 2: it's time to get on your plane, you go out
- 5:16Speaker 2: into the car. They ain't putting you in a Volvo, okay?
- 5:21Speaker 2: You're not exactly in a Kia.
- 5:23Speaker 1: I love that you used Volvo as the brand to
- 5:28Speaker 1: crap on.
- 5:30Speaker 2: Why not? I like Volvos. I had a Volvo once.
- 5:34Speaker 1: Common Man, everybody. It's Mike Gallagher.
- 5:36Speaker 2: No, I got into my Maybach. And they drive you
- 5:41Speaker 2: in a Maybach. which is a very fancy car that
- 5:44Speaker 2: I'm barely from.
- 5:45Speaker 1: Mercedes on steroids. Whoa.
- 5:47Speaker 2: I mean, it's the most comfortable. And they drive you
- 5:50Speaker 2: to the steps of your plane on the tarmac, and
- 5:55Speaker 2: then you go up the steps outside the tarmac. It's
- 5:59Speaker 2: the craziest experience I've ever had. Anyway, it's all I
- 6:03Speaker 2: get twice a year. I'm not going to pay $ 1, 200,
- 6:05Speaker 2: but here's what's always cool. I always see famous people
- 6:07Speaker 2: because all the famous people, they don't want to go
- 6:09Speaker 2: through the terminal either. Guess who sat next to me
- 6:13Speaker 2: over breakfast yesterday, five feet away from me? The guy
- 6:17Speaker 2: from Scrubs, Zach Braff. Zach Braff. Nice guy. I don't
- 6:22Speaker 2: know much about him. Very recognizable. I mean, I knew
- 6:25Speaker 2: him right away. It was kind of neat, you know,
- 6:28Speaker 2: and I didn't bother him. I texted one of my kids.
- 6:31Speaker 2: They said, Dad— Please don't bother him. I know you.
- 6:36Speaker 2: Leave him alone. Don't embarrass yourself. And, of course, you
- 6:40Speaker 2: being you, you were so sweet. You said, you're texting
- 6:44Speaker 2: me about Zach Braff. Zach Braff is texting somebody. I'm
- 6:47Speaker 2: the world-famous talk show host, Mike Gallagher. Now, trust me,
- 6:50Speaker 2: he ain't a big fan of conservative talk radio.
- 6:53Speaker 1: Well, that was my dream. As you were texting me,
- 6:55Speaker 1: it says, you're not going to believe who I'm sitting
- 6:57Speaker 1: next to in this lounge. It's Zach Braff. And I said,
- 6:59Speaker 1: that's fantastic. And I imagine Zach texting one of his
- 7:02Speaker 1: Hollywood friends saying– You're not going to believe this. One
- 7:04Speaker 1: of my favorite broadcasters, Mike Gallagher, is here. I don't
- 7:07Speaker 1: dare reveal that I listened to him or my career
- 7:09Speaker 1: would be over.
- 7:11Speaker 2: But that is, well, to that point, this is the
- 7:14Speaker 2: same lounge a year or two ago. A guy comes
- 7:17Speaker 2: up to me and he says, I recognize your voice.
- 7:21Speaker 2: I don't know what you look like. Are you Mike Gallagher?
- 7:22Speaker 2: I said, yeah. He goes, every night, KRLA, because they
- 7:25Speaker 2: tape delay me in LA because they've got local, like you,
- 7:28Speaker 2: but they've got all big lineups. So I'm on in
- 7:31Speaker 2: the evening there, which is fine. I don't care. And
- 7:33Speaker 2: he said, every night. And we started talking. I said,
- 7:36Speaker 2: what are you doing? He goes, I'm in the movie business.
- 7:38Speaker 2: I thought, oh, you're in the movie business. He made
- 7:39Speaker 2: me a carpenter.
- 7:40Speaker 1: An actual conservative working the craft services or something like that.
- 7:44Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah. He does lighting or whatever. Well, he
- 7:47Speaker 2: never mentions anything about himself. He wants to know about me.
- 7:50Speaker 2: And he loved Eminem. He loved you. He loved Prager.
- 7:54Speaker 2: He was asking how Dennis was doing. Finally, narcissist Mike
- 7:58Speaker 2: decides maybe it's polite to say, well, what do you
- 8:00Speaker 2: actually do in the movies? Right. He's one of the
- 8:03Speaker 2: biggest producers of the Marvel franchises you've ever– I mean,
- 8:07Speaker 2: this guy is so big. And I didn't know it.
- 8:10Speaker 2: I had to Google him, and I thought, holy moly.
- 8:13Speaker 2: So I don't want to identify him in case he
- 8:14Speaker 2: gets in trouble for being a conservative.
- 8:16Speaker 1: He'll be canceled immediately.
- 8:17Speaker 2: They'll cancel him somehow. But anyway, that's kind of my
- 8:20Speaker 2: brush a little bit with a little bit of– Fun and,
- 8:23Speaker 2: you know, some she-she stuff. But it's good to be
- 8:25Speaker 2: back in the saddle again. We miss you.
- 8:27Speaker 1: At your event, which had more than 1,000 people, right?
- 8:32Speaker 2: 1,100 paid attendees. The theater was packed.
- 8:36Speaker 1: Were they slump-shouldered and defeatist, expecting ruin on the 3rd
- 8:40Speaker 1: of November?
- 8:41Speaker 2: They're cautiously optimistic. And let me tell you why. We
- 8:44Speaker 2: had Steve Hilton was one of the speakers. Look, he
- 8:48Speaker 2: has a theme right now. You know what we do
- 8:50Speaker 2: here in California? He said it on Fox News, too, yesterday.
- 8:53Speaker 2: We speak English here. We speak English here. We've got
- 8:55Speaker 2: to get kids back to teaching kids how to read
- 8:57Speaker 2: again in California. I mean, look at what they're doing
- 9:01Speaker 2: in Massachusetts. Have you seen the latest, this Michelle Wu character?
- 9:07Speaker 2: In Massachusetts, in Boston, they've now got a program training
- 9:12Speaker 2: illegals how to become community activists. And they're spending taxpayer
- 9:17Speaker 2: dollars on it while the media is melting down that
- 9:20Speaker 2: Trump is running a spot, which is basically a PSA
- 9:23Speaker 2: about all the successes of the Trump administration on the government.
- 9:27Speaker 2: What's wrong with that? What's wrong with Trump running a
- 9:29Speaker 2: commercial touting America's success? But they don't seem to be
- 9:34Speaker 2: upset about Michelle Yu or Wu coming up with a
- 9:39Speaker 2: program to train illegals how to be better community activists
- 9:44Speaker 2: and infiltrate the government and get government jobs and get
- 9:48Speaker 2: driver's licenses. That's what's on the ballot, Mark, in a
- 9:51Speaker 2: little over a month. So the crowd there knows instinctively.
- 9:56Speaker 2: I met a lot of people there on Saturday afternoon.
- 9:59Speaker 2: The crowd gets it. it. It's all on the line.
- 10:02Speaker 2: Crazy's on the ballot. The general consensus, the thinking is.
- 10:07Speaker 2: You know, Democrats are going to take the House. We're
- 10:10Speaker 2: going to hold on to the Senate. I don't know.
- 10:12Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 10:13Speaker 1: I don't either.
- 10:13Speaker 2: You're going to trust a poll? It might all be nonsense. Exactly.
- 10:17Speaker 2: The polls are broken.
- 10:19Speaker 1: And there's like a psy-op underway, a psychological operation to
- 10:24Speaker 1: dispirit us, to tell us that the writing is on
- 10:27Speaker 1: the wall, the concrete is set.
- 10:28Speaker 2: There always is. There's nothing. you can do.
- 10:30Speaker 1: And then the polls begin to tighten. And then if
- 10:33Speaker 1: we can't beat these guys, if we can't beat a
- 10:36Speaker 1: Democrat party that is as broken and crazy as I've
- 10:39Speaker 1: seen in my lifetime with ideas that are rejected by
- 10:42Speaker 1: all kinds of people, and I know the war and
- 10:44Speaker 1: I know affordability, but do Democrats have any demonstrable plan
- 10:48Speaker 1: to make either of those better? Are we safer with
- 10:50Speaker 1: a Democrat Congress? Are things more affordable with a Democrat Congress?
- 10:55Speaker 1: Meaning While we've fixed the border, crime is getting better.
- 10:57Speaker 1: We've returned gender sanity, environmental sanity. Why can't I like
- 11:01Speaker 1: our chances?
- 11:02Speaker 2: Why? Well, I reposted John Cornyn, the lame duck senator
- 11:06Speaker 2: from the great state of Texas. And he told CNN
- 11:09Speaker 2: he's got absolutely zero plans to help Ken Paxton in
- 11:13Speaker 2: any way, shape, or form. And when CNN asked him why,
- 11:17Speaker 2: he said, this is fascinating to me, and I posted
- 11:20Speaker 2: this on X, which, by the way, P.S., I finally
- 11:22Speaker 2: got my handle that I wanted. I've been running at
- 11:25Speaker 2: Mike Gallagher. Which it used to be. Never was.
- 11:31Speaker 1: What was it before you changed it to Gallagher Show?
- 11:34Speaker 2: Well, it was Radio Talker Mike.
- 11:35Speaker 1: Radio Talker Mike, that's right.
- 11:37Speaker 2: So with Salem News Channel, those people were going to
- 11:39Speaker 2: fire me if I didn't change that handle. So you
- 11:41Speaker 2: can't be Radio Talker Mike. Radio, what is this radio
- 11:44Speaker 2: you speak of?
- 11:45Speaker 1: Understand, all right.
- 11:46Speaker 2: So then it became Gallagher Show because I couldn't get
- 11:48Speaker 2: Mike Gallagher.
- 11:50Speaker 1: The former congressman? Who had it?
- 11:52Speaker 2: No, he didn't even have it. Somebody had it but
- 11:55Speaker 2: didn't use it for years. And Twitter, X has a
- 11:57Speaker 2: thing where if there's a dormant name you want, you've
- 12:01Speaker 2: got to become a premium access member, like $ 30 a month,
- 12:04Speaker 2: so you've got to pay a little money for it.
- 12:06Speaker 2: But then you can request an unused account. Anyway, I
- 12:09Speaker 2: got it. I'm at Mike Gallagher now on X. Just
- 12:12Speaker 2: like you're at Mark Davis, I'm at Mike Gallagher. So
- 12:15Speaker 2: at Mike Gallagher, follow me there, I'll follow you back.
- 12:17Speaker 2: And I reposted John Cornyn. Cornyn said.
- 12:21Speaker 1: Manu Raju of CNN captured him in the hallways of
- 12:24Speaker 1: the Capitol.
- 12:24Speaker 2: But this fascinates me, what Cornyn said. I get that
- 12:27Speaker 2: he's a bitter guy that is mad that he lost.
- 12:30Speaker 2: He lost badly to Paxton, and he's upset about it.
- 12:32Speaker 2: You know what he said? I think the risk for
- 12:34Speaker 2: Republicans is if we nominate flawed candidates in November, we
- 12:38Speaker 2: risk losing. Newsflash, that flawed candidate was selected, was elected,
- 12:44Speaker 2: was chosen by the people of Texas. What am I
- 12:47Speaker 2: missing here? He acts like somebody came along and anointed
- 12:50Speaker 2: Ken Paxton. The voters voted for him, and they trounced–
- 12:55Speaker 2: correct me if I'm wrong. It wasn't close, was it, Mark?
- 12:58Speaker 1: 60-something, 30-something, it was not close in the runoff.
- 13:01Speaker 2: Well, there you– so why do you blame– he's blaming
- 13:04Speaker 2: the voters. It's the old Ed Koch.
- 13:05Speaker 1: It's contempt.
- 13:06Speaker 2: It's Ed Koch. The voters have spoken. They must be punished.
- 13:10Speaker 2: And that's what– Exactly right. John Cornyn wants to punish
- 13:13Speaker 2: Texas and saddle us with Tallarico. And I don't believe it. Well,
- 13:18Speaker 2: it's not going to happen. It's not going to happen.
- 13:21Speaker 1: I don't believe it's going to happen either. No matter
- 13:23Speaker 1: with all these malcontents, all these wounded warriors.
- 13:27Speaker 2: Don't believe the polls.
- 13:28Speaker 1: Don't believe it. Rise up.
- 13:30Speaker 2: Look at him. Have we not learned anything about how
- 13:34Speaker 2: broken the polls are? Remember all the polls? They've been
- 13:36Speaker 2: wrong and wrong and wrong over and over again. They
- 13:38Speaker 2: never say anything. They're like the weatherman. You screw up
- 13:41Speaker 2: a forecast, you never apologize. You just get the forecast wrong.
- 13:44Speaker 2: These pollsters, they get the poll. Oh, well, oh, well.
- 13:47Speaker 2: We missed it. We'll try again. If we show up,
- 13:51Speaker 2: they asked me at the last question of the panel
- 13:53Speaker 2: on Saturday in L.A., If you could put a billboard
- 13:55Speaker 2: on every highway in America for coming up in the
- 13:58Speaker 2: next month, what would it be? Very simple message from
- 14:01Speaker 2: Mike Gallagher at Mike Gallagher on X. Thank you very much.
- 14:04Speaker 2: Twice a visitor to the P.S. Sweets Lounge. If we
- 14:09Speaker 2: show up, we'll win. If we show up, we win.
- 14:14Speaker 2: It's that simple. There's nothing else. Ignore all the noise.
- 14:17Speaker 2: You show up, there's more of us than there are
- 14:20Speaker 2: those crazies. It's in our hands.
- 14:22Speaker 1: And I hope everybody shows up for Eminem Extra. I
- 14:24Speaker 1: can't wait. Thank you for handling that solo last week.
- 14:27Speaker 1: I can imagine that adventure. So we are back together again. Everybody, YouTube, Apple, Spotify, podcast,
- 14:32Speaker 1: Mark and Mike.
