- 1:34So nice. Thank you very much. That's really nice.
- 1:37Thank you. It's great to be at Trump Tower. It's
- 1:40great to be in a wonderful city, New York. And
- 1:44it's an honor to have everybody here. This is
- 1:46beyond anybody's expectations. There's been no
- 1:49crowd like this. And I can tell you, some of
- 1:53the candidates they went in, they didn't know
- 1:55the air conditioner didn't work. They sweated
- 1:58like dogs. They didn't know the room was too
- 2:02big because they didn't have anybody there. How
- 2:06are they going to beat ISIS? I don't think it's
- 2:09going to happen. Our country is in serious trouble.
- 2:15We don't have victories anymore. We used to have
- 2:20victories, but we don't have them. When was the
- 2:22last time anybody saw us beating, let's say,
- 2:27China? in a trade deal, they kill us. I beat
- 2:33China all the time. All the time. When did we
- 2:39beat Japan at anything? They send their cars
- 2:45over by the millions. And what do we do? When
- 2:50was the last time you saw a Chevrolet in Tokyo?
- 2:55It doesn't exist, folks. They beat us all the
- 2:59time. When do we beat Mexico at the border? They're
- 3:04laughing at us, at our stupidity. And now they're
- 3:08beating us economically. They are not our friend,
- 3:10believe me. But they're killing us economically.
- 3:14The U .S. has become a dumping ground for everybody
- 3:21else's problems. Thank you. It's true. And these
- 3:31are the best and the finest. When Mexico sends
- 3:35its people, they're not sending their best. They're
- 3:38not sending you. They're not sending you. They're
- 3:42sending people that have lots of problems, and
- 3:46they're bringing those problems with us. They're
- 3:49bringing drugs. They're bringing crime. They're
- 3:52rapists. And some... I assume are good people.
- 3:56But I speak to border guards, and they tell us
- 3:59what we're getting. And it only makes common
- 4:01sense. It only makes common sense. They're sending
- 4:05us not the right people. It's coming from more
- 4:08than Mexico. It's coming from all over South
- 4:11and Latin America, and it's coming probably,
- 4:14probably from the Middle East. But we don't know,
- 4:19because we have no protection, and we have no
- 4:21competence. We don't know what's happening. And
- 4:24it's got to stop. And it's got to stop fast.
- 4:31Islamic terrorism is eating up large portions
- 4:36of the Middle East. They've become rich. I'm
- 4:43in competition with them. They just built a hotel
- 4:46in Syria. Can you believe this? They built a
- 4:49hotel. When I have to build a hotel, I pay interest.
- 4:53They don't have to pay interest because they
- 4:55took the oil that when we left Iraq, I said we
- 4:59should have taken. So now ISIS has the oil. And
- 5:06what they don't have, Iran has. And in 19, and
- 5:11I will tell you this, and I said it very strongly,
- 5:14years ago, I said... And I love the military
- 5:18and I want to have the strongest military that
- 5:21we've ever had. And we need it more now than
- 5:23ever. But I said, don't hit Iraq because you're
- 5:27going to totally destabilize the Middle East.
- 5:30Iran is going to take over the Middle East. Iran
- 5:33and somebody else will get the oil. And it turned
- 5:37out that Iran is now taking over Iraq. Think
- 5:40of it. Iran is taking over Iraq. And they're
- 5:45taking it over big league. We spent two trillion
- 5:49dollars in Iraq. Two trillion. We lost thousands
- 5:55of lives. Thousands in Iraq. We have wounded
- 5:59soldiers who I love. I love. They're great. All
- 6:04over the place. Thousands and thousands of wounded
- 6:08soldiers. And we have nothing. We can't even
- 6:13go there. We have nothing. And every time we
- 6:17give Iraq equipment, the first time a bullet
- 6:20goes off in the air, they leave it. Last week
- 6:24I read 2 ,300 Humvees. These are big vehicles
- 6:31were left behind for the enemy. 2 ,000, you would
- 6:35say maybe two, maybe four. 2 ,300 sophisticated
- 6:42vehicles they ran. And the enemy took them. You're
- 6:49right. Last quarter, it was just announced, our
- 6:58gross domestic product, a sign of strength, right?
- 7:04But not for us. It was below zero. Who ever heard
- 7:10of this? It's never below zero. Our labor participation
- 7:15rate was the worst since 1978. But think of it,
- 7:22GDP below zero. Horrible labor participation
- 7:25rate. And our real unemployment is anywhere from
- 7:2918 to 20%. Don't believe the 5 .6. Don't believe
- 7:34it. That's right, a lot of people up there can't
- 7:36get jobs. They can't get jobs because there are
- 7:40no jobs because China has our jobs and Mexico
- 7:43has our jobs. They all have a jobs But the real
- 7:47number the real number Is anywhere from 18 to
- 7:5219 and maybe even 21 % and nobody talks about
- 7:56it because it's a statistic That's full of nonsense
- 8:07our enemies are getting stronger and stronger
- 8:11by the day and we as a country are getting weaker
- 8:16even our nuclear arsenal doesn't work it came
- 8:22out recently they have equipment that's 30 years
- 8:26old they don't even know if it worked and i thought
- 8:28it was horrible when it was broadcast on television
- 8:31because boy does that send signals to putin and
- 8:36all of the other people that look at us and they
- 8:39say that is a group of people and that is a nation
- 8:44calling from arlington virginia democrats line
- 8:46hi rick hello speaking hi all right i got you
- 8:52thanks we have a disaster called the big lie
- 8:59obama care obama care Yesterday it came out that
- 9:07costs are going for people up 29, 39, 49, and
- 9:14even 55%. And deductibles are through the roof.
- 9:20You have to get hit by a tractor, literally a
- 9:23tractor, to use it. Because the deductibles are
- 9:28so high, it's virtually useless. It is a disaster.
- 9:32And remember the $5 billion website. $5 billion
- 9:39we spent on a website. And to this day, it doesn't
- 9:42work. A $5 billion website. I have so many websites.
- 9:47I have them all over the place. I hire people.
- 9:50They do a website. It cost me $3. $5 billion
- 9:55website. Well, you need somebody, because politicians
- 10:11are all talk, no action. Nothing's going to get
- 10:16done. They will not bring us, believe me, to
- 10:19the promised land. They will not. As an example,
- 10:24I've been on the circuit making speeches, and
- 10:26I hear my fellow Republicans, and they're wonderful
- 10:30people. I like them. They all want me to support
- 10:33them. They don't know how to bring it about.
- 10:35They come up to my office. I'm meeting with three
- 10:38of them in the next week. And they don't know.
- 10:41Are you running? Are you not running? Could we
- 10:45have your support? What do we do? How do we do
- 10:49it? I like them. And I hear their speeches. And
- 10:52they don't talk jobs and they don't talk China.
- 10:54When was the last time you heard, China's killing
- 10:56us? They're devaluing their currency to a level
- 11:00that you wouldn't believe it makes it impossible
- 11:02for our companies to compete. Impossible. They're
- 11:08killing us. But you don't hear that from anybody
- 11:10else. You don't hear it from anybody else. And
- 11:14I watched the speeches. Thank you. I watched
- 11:20the speeches of these people, and they say, the
- 11:24sun will rise, the moon will set, all sorts of
- 11:29wonderful things will happen. And people are
- 11:32saying, what's going on? I just want a job. Just
- 11:37get me a job. I don't need the rhetoric. I want
- 11:40a job. And that's what's happening. And it's
- 11:43going to get worse, because remember, Obamacare
- 11:47really kicks in in 16, 2016. Obama is going to
- 11:52be out playing golf. He might even be on one
- 11:54of my courses. I would invite him. I actually
- 11:56would say. I have the best courses in the world,
- 11:59so I'd say, you know what, if you want to see,
- 12:00I have one right next to the White House. Right
- 12:03on the Potomac. If he'd like to play, that's
- 12:05fine. In fact, I'd love him to leave early and
- 12:08play. That would be a very good thing. But Obamacare
- 12:13kicks in in 2016. Really big league. It is going
- 12:20to be amazingly destructive. Doctors are quitting.
- 12:24I have a friend who's a doctor, and he said to
- 12:27me the other day, Donald, I never saw anything
- 12:30like it. I have more accountants than I have
- 12:33nurses. It's a disaster. My patients are beside
- 12:37themselves. They had a plan that was good. They
- 12:40have no plan now. We have to repeal Obamacare,
- 12:44and it can be replaced with something much better
- 12:49for everybody. Let it be for everybody, but much
- 12:53better and much less expensive for people and
- 12:56for the government. And we can do it. So, I've
- 13:08watched the politicians. I've dealt with them
- 13:11all my life. If you can't make a good deal with
- 13:15a politician, then there's something wrong with
- 13:18you. You're certainly not very good. And that's
- 13:21what we have representing us. They will never
- 13:25make America great again. They don't even have
- 13:29a chance. They're controlled fully. They're controlled
- 13:35fully by the lobbyists, by the donors, and by
- 13:41the special interests. Fully. They control them.
- 13:45Hey, I have lobbyists, I have to tell you. I
- 13:47have lobbyists that can produce anything for
- 13:49me. They're great. But you know what? It won't
- 13:53happen. It won't happen. Because we have to stop
- 13:58doing things for some people. But for this country,
- 14:02it's destroying our country. We have to stop,
- 14:05and it has to stop now. Now, our country needs...
- 14:10Our country needs a truly great leader. And we
- 14:17need a truly great leader now. We need a leader
- 14:26that wrote the art of the deal. We need a leader
- 14:31that can bring back our jobs, can bring back
- 14:34our manufacturing, can bring back our military,
- 14:37can take care of our vets. Our vets have been
- 14:41abandoned. And we also need a cheerleader. You
- 14:50know, when President Obama was elected, I said,
- 14:56well, the one thing I think he'll do well, I
- 14:59think he'll be a great cheerleader for the country.
- 15:02I think he'd be a great spirit. He was vibrant.
- 15:06He was young. I really thought that he would
- 15:08be a great cheerleader. He's not a leader. That's
- 15:12true. You're right about that. But he wasn't
- 15:15a cheerleader. He's actually a negative force.
- 15:18He's been a negative force. He wasn't a cheerleader.
- 15:21He was the opposite. We need somebody. that can
- 15:24take the brand of the United States and make
- 15:29it great again. It's not great again. We need...
- 15:37We need somebody... We need somebody that literally
- 15:46will take this country and make it great again.
- 15:52We can do that. And I will tell you, I love my
- 15:58life. I have a wonderful family. They're saying,
- 16:03Dad, you're going to do something that's going
- 16:05to be so tough. You know, all of my life I've
- 16:08heard that a truly successful person, a really,
- 16:12really successful person, and even modestly successful,
- 16:16cannot run for public office. Just can't happen.
- 16:20And yet that's the kind of mindset that you need
- 16:24to make this country great again. So, ladies
- 16:28and gentlemen, I am officially running for president
- 16:37of the United States. And we are going to make
- 16:42our country great again. It can happen. Our country
- 17:04has tremendous potential. We have tremendous
- 17:07people. We have people that aren't working. We
- 17:12have people that have no incentive to work. But
- 17:15they're going to have incentive to work. Because
- 17:17the greatest social program is a job. And they'll
- 17:22be proud. And they'll love it. And they'll make
- 17:24much more money than they would have ever made.
- 17:27And they'll be... they'll be doing so well and
- 17:30we're going to be thriving as a country thriving
- 17:32it can happen i will be the greatest jobs president
- 17:41that god ever created i tell you that i'll bring
- 17:50back our jobs from china from mexico from japan
- 17:53from so many places I'll bring back our jobs
- 17:57and I'll bring back our money. Right now, think
- 18:00of this. We owe China $1 .3 trillion. We owe
- 18:07Japan more than that. So they come in, they take
- 18:11our jobs, they take our money, and then they
- 18:13loan us back the money and we pay them in interest.
- 18:16And then the dollar goes up, so their deal's
- 18:19even better. How stupid. are our leaders. How
- 18:24stupid are these politicians to allow this to
- 18:28happen? How stupid are they? We want Trump! We
- 18:34want Trump! We want Trump! We want Trump! I'm
- 18:40going to tell you, thank you, I'm going to tell
- 18:42you a couple of stories about trade, because
- 18:46I'm totally against the trade bill for a number
- 18:48of reasons. Number one, the people negotiating
- 18:50don't have a clue. Our president doesn't have
- 18:53a clue. He's a bad negotiator. He's the one that
- 18:56did Bergdahl. We get Bergdahl. They get five
- 18:59killer terrorists that everybody wanted over
- 19:02there. We get Bergdahl. We get a traitor. We
- 19:05get a no -good traitor. And they get the five
- 19:08people that they wanted for years. And those
- 19:11people are now back on the battlefield trying
- 19:13to kill us. That's the negotiator we have. Take
- 19:18a look at the deal he's making with Iran. He
- 19:21makes that deal Israel maybe won't exist very
- 19:24long It's a disaster and we have to protect Israel
- 19:28but So we need people I'm a free trader But the
- 19:41problem with free trade is you need really talented
- 19:45people to negotiate for you If you don't have
- 19:49talented people, if you don't have great leadership,
- 19:52if you don't have people that know business,
- 19:54not just a political hack that got the job because
- 19:57he made a contribution to a campaign, which is
- 20:00the way all jobs just about are gotten, free
- 20:04trade is terrible. Free trade can be wonderful
- 20:08if you have smart people. But we have people
- 20:11that are stupid. We have people that aren't smart.
- 20:15And we have people that are controlled by special
- 20:18interests. And it's just not going to work. So
- 20:20here's a couple of stories. Happened recently.
- 20:23A friend of mine is a great manufacturer. And
- 20:27you know China comes over and they dump all their
- 20:29stuff. And I buy it. I buy it. Because frankly
- 20:33I have an obligation to buy it. Because they
- 20:36devalue their currency so brilliantly. They just
- 20:38did it recently. And nobody thought they could
- 20:40do it again. But with all our problems with Russia,
- 20:43with all our problems with everything, everything,
- 20:48they got away with it again. And it's impossible
- 20:51for our people here to compete. So I want to
- 20:55tell you this story. A friend of mine is a great
- 20:57manufacturer. Calls me up a few weeks ago. He's
- 21:01very upset. I said, what's your problem? He said,
- 21:05you know, I make great product. And I said, I
- 21:06know, I know that because I buy the product.
- 21:09He said, I can't get it into China. they won't
- 21:11accept it i sent a boat over and they actually
- 21:14sent it back they talked about environmental
- 21:16they talked about all sorts of crap that had
- 21:18nothing to do with it i said oh wait a minute
- 21:20that's terrible does anyone know this he said
- 21:23yeah they do it all the time with other people
- 21:24i said they send it back yeah so i finally got
- 21:27it over there and they charged me a big tariff
- 21:30they're not supposed to be doing that I told
- 21:33them. Now, they do charge a tariff on trucks.
- 21:36When we send trucks and other things over there,
- 21:38ask Boeing. They wanted Boeing secrets. They
- 21:41wanted their patents and all their secrets before
- 21:43they agreed to buy planes from Boeing. Hey, I'm
- 21:47not saying they're stupid. I like China. I sell
- 21:50apartment for 10... I just sold an apartment
- 21:52for $15 million to somebody from China. Am I
- 21:57supposed to dislike them? I own a big chunk of
- 22:01the Bank of America building in 1290 Avenue of
- 22:04the Americas that I got from China in a war.
- 22:09Very valuable. I love China. The biggest bank
- 22:13in the world is from China. You know where their
- 22:18United States headquarters is located? In this
- 22:22building, in Trump Tower. I love China. People
- 22:26say, oh, you don't like China. No, I love them.
- 22:29but their leaders are much smarter than our leaders
- 22:31and we can't sustain ourselves with that there's
- 22:35too much it's like it's like take the new england
- 22:39patriots and tom brady and have them play your
- 22:42high school football team that's the difference
- 22:44between china's leaders and our leaders They
- 22:49are ripping us. We are rebuilding China. We're
- 22:52rebuilding many countries. China, you go there
- 22:55now, roads, bridges, schools, you never saw anything
- 22:58like it. They have bridges that make the George
- 23:01Washington Bridge look like small potatoes. And
- 23:05they're all over the place. We have all the cards,
- 23:09but we don't know how to use them. We don't even
- 23:12know that we have the cards because our leaders
- 23:14don't understand the game. We could turn off
- 23:18that spigot by charging them tax until they behave
- 23:21properly now. They're going militarily They're
- 23:25building a military island in the middle of the
- 23:29South China Sea a military island Now our country
- 23:33could never do that because we'd have to get
- 23:35environmental clearance and The environmentalists
- 23:39wouldn't let our country we would never build
- 23:40in an ocean. They built it in about one year
- 23:43this massive military port They're building up
- 23:47their military to a point that is very scary.
- 23:50You have a problem with ISIS, you have a bigger
- 23:53problem with China. And in my opinion, the new
- 23:56China, believe it or not, in terms of trade,
- 23:58is Mexico. So this man tells me about the manufacturing.
- 24:04I say, that's a terrible story. I hate to hear
- 24:06it. But I have another one. Ford. So Mexico...
- 24:13takes a company, car company, that was going
- 24:15to build in Tennessee, rips it out. Everybody
- 24:18thought the deal was dead. Reported in the Wall
- 24:21Street Journal recently. Everybody thought it
- 24:24was a done deal. It's going in, and that's going
- 24:28to be it, going into Tennessee. Great state,
- 24:30great people. All of a sudden, at the last moment,
- 24:34this big car manufacturer, foreign, announces
- 24:37they're not going to Tennessee. They're going
- 24:39to spend their billion dollars in Mexico instead.
- 24:42Not good. Now Ford announces a few weeks ago
- 24:46that Ford is going to build a $2 .5 billion car
- 24:54and truck and parts manufacturing plant in Mexico.
- 25:02$2 .5 billion is going to be one of the largest
- 25:05in the world. Ford, good company. So I announced...
- 25:11That I'm running for president I would One of
- 25:16the early things I would do Probably before I
- 25:20even got in and I wouldn't even use you know,
- 25:23I have I know the smartest negotiators in the
- 25:25world I know the good ones. I know the bad ones.
- 25:28I know the overrated ones. You got a lot of that
- 25:30are overrated They're not good. They think they
- 25:32are they get good stories because the newspapers
- 25:34get buffaloed But they're not good, but I know
- 25:37the best negotiators in the world And I'd put
- 25:40them one for each country. Believe me, folks,
- 25:42we will do very, very well. Very, very well.
- 25:46But I wouldn't even waste my time with this one.
- 25:49I would call up the head of Ford, who I know,
- 25:51if I was president. I'd say, congratulations.
- 25:57I understand that you're building a nice $2 .5
- 26:02billion car factory in Mexico. and that you're
- 26:07going to take your cars and sell them to the
- 26:08United States, zero tax, just flow them across
- 26:11the border. And you say to yourself, how does
- 26:14that help us, right? How does that help us? Where
- 26:15is that good? It's not. So I'd say, congratulations,
- 26:20that's the good news. Let me give you the bad
- 26:22news. Every car and every truck and every part
- 26:27manufactured in this plant that comes across
- 26:31the border... We're going to charge you a 35
- 26:34% tax. Okay? And that tax is going to be paid
- 26:40simultaneously with the transaction. And that's
- 26:44it. Now, here's what's going to happen. If it's
- 26:48not me in the position, it's one of these politicians
- 26:50that we're running against. You know, the 400
- 26:52people that we're already... And here's what's
- 26:56going to happen. They're not so stupid. They
- 26:58know it's not a good thing. And they may even
- 27:01be upset by it. But then they're going to get
- 27:03a call from their donors or probably from the
- 27:06lobbyists for Ford and say, you can't do that
- 27:09to Ford because Ford takes care of me and I take
- 27:14care of you and you can't do that to Ford. And
- 27:18guess what? No problem. They're going to build
- 27:21in Mexico. They're going to take away thousands
- 27:23of jobs. It's very bad for us. So under President
- 27:28Trump, here's what would happen. The head of
- 27:34Ford will call me back, I would say, within an
- 27:38hour after I told him the bad news. But it could
- 27:42be he'd want to be cool, and he'll wait till
- 27:45the next day. You know, they want to be a little
- 27:46cool. And he'll say, please, please, please.
- 27:49He'll beg for a little while, and I'll say, no
- 27:52interest. Then he'll call all sorts of political
- 27:55people, and I'll say, sorry, fellas, no interest,
- 27:57because I don't need anybody's money. It's nice.
- 27:59I don't need anybody's money. I'm using my own
- 28:02money. I'm not using the lobbyists. I'm not using
- 28:05donors. I don't care. I'm really rich. I'll show
- 28:09you that in a second. And by the way, I'm not
- 28:13even saying that in a brag. That's the kind of
- 28:15mindset, that's the kind of thinking you need
- 28:18for this country. So, because we've got to make
- 28:20the country rich, it sounds crass. Somebody said,
- 28:23oh, that's crass. It's not crass. We got $18
- 28:27trillion in debt. We got nothing but problems.
- 28:30We got a military that needs equipment all over
- 28:32the place. We got nuclear weapons that are obsolete.
- 28:37We've got nothing. We got Social Security that's
- 28:40going to be destroyed if somebody like me doesn't
- 28:42bring money into the country. All these other
- 28:44people want to cut the hell out of it. I'm not
- 28:46going to cut it at all. I'm going to bring money
- 28:48in, and we're going to save it. But here's what's
- 28:52going to happen. 30 friends of mine who contributed
- 28:57to different campaigns after i'm called by all
- 29:01of the special interests and by the the donors
- 29:04and by the lobbyists and they have zero chance
- 29:08at convincing me zero i'll get a call the next
- 29:11day from the head of ford he'll say please reconsider
- 29:14i'll say no he'll say mr president we've decided
- 29:18to move the plant back to the united states we're
- 29:21not going to build it in mexico that's it they
- 29:23have no choice They have no choice. There are
- 29:29hundreds of things like that. I'll give you another
- 29:31example. Saudi Arabia. They make a billion dollars
- 29:37a day. A billion dollars a day. I love the Saudis.
- 29:42Many are in this building. They make a billion
- 29:46dollars a day. Whenever they have problems, we
- 29:50send over the ships. We say, we're going to protect.
- 29:52What are we doing? They got nothing but money.
- 29:56If the right person asked them, they'd pay a
- 29:59fortune. They wouldn't be there except for us.
- 30:03And believe me, you look at the border with Yemen,
- 30:08you remember Obama a year ago, Yemen was a great
- 30:11victory. Two weeks later, the place was blown
- 30:14up. Everybody got, and they kept our equipment.
- 30:16They always keep our equipment. We just didn't
- 30:19use the equipment, right? They always keep our
- 30:21equipment. we ought to send some real junk because
- 30:24frankly it would be we ought to send our surplus
- 30:26we're always losing this gorgeous brand new stuff
- 30:29but look at that border with saudi arabia do
- 30:32you really think that these people are interested
- 30:36in yemen saudi arabia without us is gone they're
- 30:43gone and i'm the one that made all of the right
- 30:46predictions about iraq You know, all of these
- 30:49politicians that I'm running against now, it's
- 30:51so nice to say I'm running as opposed to if I
- 30:54run, if I run, I'm running. But all of these
- 30:58politicians that I'm running against now, they're
- 31:01trying to disassociate. I mean, you looked at
- 31:03Bush, it took him five days to answer the question
- 31:07on Iraq. He couldn't answer the question. He
- 31:08didn't know. I said, is he intelligent? Then
- 31:11I looked at Rubio. He was unable to answer the
- 31:14question. Is Iraq a good thing or a bad thing?
- 31:16He didn't know. He couldn't answer the question.
- 31:19How are these people going to lead us? How are
- 31:21we going to go back and make it great again?
- 31:25We can't. They don't have a clue. They can't
- 31:28lead us. They can't. They can't even answer simple
- 31:31questions. It was terrible. But Saudi Arabia
- 31:34is in big, big trouble. Now, thanks to fracking
- 31:39and other things, the oil is all over the place.
- 31:43And I used to say it. there were ships at sea
- 31:45and this was during the worst crisis that were
- 31:47loaded up with oil and the cartel kept the price
- 31:52up because again they were smarter than our leaders
- 31:55they were smarter than our leaders there is so
- 31:59much wealth out there that can make our country
- 32:02so rich again and therefore make it great again
- 32:05because we need money we're dying we're dying
- 32:10we need money We have to do it. And we need the
- 32:14right people. So, Ford will come back. They'll
- 32:20all come back. And I will say this. This is going
- 32:24to be an election, in my opinion, that's based
- 32:28on competence. Somebody said, thank you, darling.
- 32:34Somebody said to me the other day, a reporter,
- 32:37very nice reporter, but Mr. Trump, you're not
- 32:40a nice person. That's true. But actually, I am.
- 32:45I think I am a nice person. People that know
- 32:47me like me. Does my family like me? I think so,
- 32:50right? Look at my family. I'm proud of my family.
- 32:52By the way, speaking of my family, Melania, Barron,
- 32:57Kai, Donnie, Don, Vanessa, Tiffany, Ivanka did
- 33:04a great job. Did she do a great job? Great. Jared,
- 33:09Laura. And Eric. I'm very proud of my family.
- 33:13They're a great family. So the reporter said
- 33:18to me the other day, but Mr. Trump, you're not
- 33:23a nice person. How can you get people to vote
- 33:27for you? I said, I don't know. I said, I think
- 33:31that, number one, I am a nice person. I give
- 33:34a lot of money away to charities and other things.
- 33:37I think I'm actually a very nice person. But
- 33:40I said, this is going to be an election that's
- 33:44based on competence. Because people are tired
- 33:47of these nice people. And they're tired of being
- 33:50ripped off by everybody in the world. And they're
- 33:53tired of spending more money on education than
- 33:57any nation in the world, per capita, than any
- 34:02nation in the world. And we're 26th in the world.
- 34:0525 countries are better than us at education.
- 34:09and some of them are like third world countries
- 34:11but we're becoming a third world country because
- 34:14of our infrastructure our airports our roads
- 34:17everything so one of the things i did and i said
- 34:21you know what i'll do i'll do it because a lot
- 34:22of people said he'll never run number one he
- 34:25won't want to give up his lifestyle they're right
- 34:28about that but i'm doing it number two i'm a
- 34:32private company so nobody knows what i'm worth
- 34:34and the one thing is that when you run you have
- 34:38to announce and certify to all sorts of governmental
- 34:42authorities your net worth. So I said, that's
- 34:47okay. I'm proud of my net worth. I've done an
- 34:49amazing job. I started off, thank you. I started
- 34:53off in a small office with my father in Brooklyn
- 34:56and Queens. And my father said, and I love my
- 35:00father. I learned so much. He was a great negotiator.
- 35:03I learned so much just sitting at his feet, playing
- 35:05with blocks, listening to him negotiate with.
- 35:09subcontractors but i learned a lot but he used
- 35:12to say donald don't go into manhattan that's
- 35:16the big leagues we don't know anything about
- 35:18that don't do it i said dad i got to go into
- 35:20manhattan i got to build those big buildings
- 35:22i got to do it dad i've got to do it and after
- 35:26four or five years in brooklyn I ventured into
- 35:29Manhattan and did a lot of great deals. The Grand
- 35:31Hyatt Hotel. I was responsible for the convention
- 35:34center on the west side. I did a lot of great
- 35:36deals, and I did them early and young. And now
- 35:40I'm building all over the world, and I love what
- 35:41I'm doing. But they all said, a lot of the pundits
- 35:45on television, well, Donald will never run. And
- 35:50one of the main reasons is he's private, and
- 35:53he's probably not as successful as everybody
- 35:55thinks. So I said to myself, you know, nobody's
- 36:01ever going to know unless I run. Because I'm
- 36:04really proud of my success. I really am. I've
- 36:09employed tens of thousands of people over my
- 36:16lifetime. That means medical, that means education,
- 36:19that means everything. So a large accounting
- 36:22firm and my accountants have been working for
- 36:25months. Because it's big and complex. And they've
- 36:29put together a statement. A financial statement.
- 36:35This is a summary. But everything will be filed
- 36:38eventually with the government. And we don't
- 36:41need extensions or anything. We'll be filing
- 36:43it right on time. We don't need anything. And
- 36:47it was even reported incorrectly yesterday. Because
- 36:51they said he had assets of $9 billion. So I said,
- 36:56no, that's the wrong number. That's the wrong
- 36:59number. Not assets. So they put together this.
- 37:04And before I say it, I have to say this. I made
- 37:07it the old -fashioned way. It's real estate.
- 37:09You know, it's real estate. It's labor, and it's
- 37:12unions good and some bad, and lots of people
- 37:15that aren't in unions, and it's all over the
- 37:17place, and building all over the world. And I
- 37:21have assets. Big accounting firm. one of the
- 37:26most highly respected, $9 ,240 ,000 ,000. And
- 37:34I have liabilities of about 500. That's long
- 37:42-term debt, very low interest rates. In fact,
- 37:45one of the big banks came to me and said, Donald,
- 37:47you don't have enough borrowings. Could we loan
- 37:49you $4 billion? I said, I don't need it. I don't
- 37:52want it. And I've been there. I don't want it.
- 37:57But in two seconds, they give me whatever I wanted.
- 38:00So I have a total net worth. And now with the
- 38:03increase, it'll be well over $10 billion. But
- 38:06here, a total net worth of $8 billion. Net worth,
- 38:11not assets, not liability. A net worth. After
- 38:14all debt, after all expenses, the greatest assets,
- 38:19Trump Tower, 1290 Avenue of the Americas. Bank
- 38:24of America building in San Francisco. 40 Wall
- 38:28Street, sometimes referred to as the Trump building,
- 38:33right opposite the New York City. Many other
- 38:35places all over the world. So the total is $8
- 38:40,737 ,540 ,000. Now, I'm not doing that. I'm
- 38:48not doing that to brag, because you know what?
- 38:51I don't have to brag. I don't have to, believe
- 38:52it or not. I'm doing that to say that that's
- 38:56the kind of thinking our country needs. We need
- 39:02that thinking. We have the opposite thinking.
- 39:06We have losers. We have losers. We have people
- 39:10that don't have it. We have people that are morally
- 39:12corrupt. We have people that are selling this
- 39:15country down the drain. So I put together the
- 39:20statement. And the only reason I'm telling you
- 39:23about it today is because we really do have to
- 39:28get going. Because if we have another three or
- 39:32four years, you know, we're at $18 trillion now.
- 39:34We're soon going to be at $20 trillion. According
- 39:37to the economists, who I'm not big believers
- 39:40in, but nevertheless, this is what they're saying,
- 39:42that $24 trillion, we're very close, that's the
- 39:47point of no return. $24 trillion. We will be
- 39:51there soon. That's when we become Greece. That's
- 39:56when we become a country that's unsalvageable.
- 40:00And we're going to be there very soon. We're
- 40:03going to be there very soon. So, just to sum
- 40:10up, I would do various things very quickly. I
- 40:16would repeal and replace the big lie, Obamacare.
- 40:21I would build a great wall, and nobody builds
- 40:24walls better than me, believe me, and I'll build
- 40:26them very inexpensively. I will build a great,
- 40:30great wall on our southern border, and I will
- 40:34have Mexico pay for that wall. Mark my words.
- 40:39Nobody would be tougher on ISIS than Donald Trump.
- 40:44Nobody. I will find within our military I will
- 40:50find the General Patton or I will find General
- 40:55MacArthur. I will find the right guy. I will
- 40:58find the guy that's going to take that military
- 41:01and make it really work. Nobody, nobody will
- 41:05be pushing us around. I will stop Iran from getting
- 41:12nuclear weapons and we won't be using a man.
- 41:16like Secretary Kerry that has absolutely no concept
- 41:19of negotiation, who's making a horrible and laughable
- 41:23deal, who's just being tapped along as they make
- 41:26weapons right now, and then goes into a bicycle
- 41:29race at 72 years old and falls and breaks his
- 41:33leg. I won't be doing that. And I promise I will
- 41:35never be in a bicycle race. That I can tell you.
- 41:40I will immediately terminate... President Obama's
- 41:46illegal executive order on immigration. Immediately.
- 41:54Fully support and back up the Second Amendment.
- 42:00Now, it's very interesting. Today I heard it.
- 42:05Through stupidity, in a very, very hardcore prison,
- 42:10interestingly named Clinton, Two vicious murders,
- 42:16two vicious people escaped, and nobody knows
- 42:20where they are. And a woman was on television
- 42:24this morning, and she said, you know, Mr. Trump,
- 42:27and she was telling other people, and I actually
- 42:29called her, but she said, you know, Mr. Trump,
- 42:32I always was against guns. I didn't want guns.
- 42:38And now, since this happened, it's up in the
- 42:42prison area. My husband and I are finally in
- 42:45agreement because he wanted the guns. We now
- 42:47have a gun on every table. We're ready to start
- 42:50shooting. I said, very interesting. So protect
- 42:54the Second Amendment. End Common Core. Common
- 43:02Core, it is a disaster. Bush is totally in favor
- 43:07of Common Core. I don't see how he can possibly
- 43:10get the nomination. He's weak on immigration.
- 43:13He's in favor of Common Core. How the hell can
- 43:16you vote for this guy? You just can't do it.
- 43:20We have to end. Education has to be local. Rebuild
- 43:25the country's infrastructure. Nobody can do that
- 43:30like me. Believe me. It will be done on time,
- 43:34on budget, way below cost, way below what anyone
- 43:37ever thought. I look at these roads being built
- 43:41all over the country, and I say, I can build
- 43:43those things for one -third. What they do is
- 43:45unbelievable. How bad? You know, we're building
- 43:49on Pennsylvania Avenue, the old post office.
- 43:52We're converting it into one of the world's great
- 43:54hotels. It's going to be the best hotel in Washington,
- 43:56D .C. We got it. from the General Services Administration
- 44:01in Washington. The Obama Administration. We got
- 44:06it. It was the most highly sought after, or one
- 44:09of them, but I think the most highly sought after
- 44:11project in the history of General Services. We
- 44:17got it. People were shocked. Trump got it. Well,
- 44:19I got it for two reasons. Number one, we're really
- 44:21good. Number two, we had a really good plan.
- 44:23And I'll add in the third, we had a great financial
- 44:26statement. because the general services, who
- 44:28are terrific people, by the way, and talented
- 44:30people, they wanted to do a great job, and they
- 44:34wanted to make sure it got built. So we have
- 44:37to rebuild our infrastructure, our bridges, our
- 44:39roadways, our airports. You come into LaGuardia
- 44:42Airport, it's like we're in a third -world country.
- 44:46You look at the patches in the 40 -year -old
- 44:49floor, they throw down asphalt, and they throw...
- 44:52You look at these airports. We are like a third
- 44:56world country. And I come in from China and I
- 44:59come in from Qatar and I come in from different
- 45:01places. And they have the most incredible airports
- 45:04in the world. You come back to this country and
- 45:07you have LAX disaster. You have all of these
- 45:11disastrous airports. We have to rebuild our infrastructure.
- 45:17Save Medicare. Medicaid, and Social Security
- 45:21without cuts. Have to do it. Get rid of the fraud,
- 45:25get rid of the waste and abuse, but save it.
- 45:28People have been paying in for years, and now
- 45:31many of these candidates want to cut it. You
- 45:33save it by making the United States, by making
- 45:36us rich again, by taking back all of the money
- 45:39that's being lost. Renegotiate our foreign trade
- 45:45deals. reduce our 18 trillion in debt, because
- 45:52believe me, we're in a bubble. We have artificially
- 45:57low interest rates. We have a stock market that,
- 46:00frankly, has been good to me, but I still hate
- 46:02to see what's happening. We have a stock market
- 46:05that is so bloated. Be careful of a bubble, because
- 46:10what you've seen in the past might be small potatoes
- 46:12compared to what happens. So be very, very careful.
- 46:19our military and take care of our vets so so
- 46:23important sadly the american dream is dead but
- 46:40if i get elected president i will bring it back
- 46:46bigger and better and stronger than ever before,
- 46:53and we will make America great again. Thank you.
- 46:58Thank you very much.
