• 1:07
  Speaker 3: Hello, Hello.
• 1:08
Speaker 1: I don't know why I'm talking like that.
• 1:09
Speaker 4: I got to tell you congratulations for an amazing set
• 1:12
Speaker 4: last night at the Roast.
• 1:13
Speaker 3: Oh that was a lot of fun.
• 1:15
Speaker 1: It was a lot of fun at the Roast.
• 1:16
Speaker 4: You looked incredible, the boobs were booming like you just
• 1:20
Speaker 4: like absolutely crushed it.
• 1:22
  Speaker 3: Thank you.
• 1:22
Speaker 2: My favorite part about the Roast was that I was
• 1:26
Speaker 2: so touched by the audience's protection of me.
• 1:29
Speaker 1: When anybody went in on.
• 1:30
Speaker 2: Me for being old or ugly or I don't think
• 1:34
Speaker 2: they said ugly, but whatever they said, wore ugly or
• 1:36
Speaker 2: old old. The audience wasn't getting it, wasn't into it,
• 1:40
Speaker 2: and I liked. I was like, oh I had that
• 1:43
Speaker 2: wasn't my audience. It was an audience and I had
• 1:46
Speaker 2: never felt protected like that. And I was like, oh
• 1:48
Speaker 2: I felt loved yeah, yeah, and I loved I just
• 1:52
Speaker 2: loved it. I had the best time. I had the
• 1:54
Speaker 2: best time preparing for it. I'll bet I had to
• 1:57
Speaker 2: run around rehearse my sets. I had to get a
• 2:00
Speaker 2: sprays hand, I felt like Nikki Glazer all week going
• 2:02
Speaker 2: incredible getting I was like texting her, I'm like, I'm
• 2:05
  Speaker 2: pulling a total Nikki. I'm like I but I liked
• 2:09
Speaker 2: the preparation that went into it and it was just awesome.
• 2:11
  Speaker 5: So I had a great I didn't realize it was
• 2:13
Speaker 5: at the forum like that.
• 2:14
Speaker 1: You I know it was. It was really fun, exciting, Wow,
• 2:17
Speaker 1: thank you congrats. It was really really right.
• 2:20
Speaker 4: So in case you missed it, go check out the
• 2:21
Speaker 4: roast of Kevin Hart on Netflix.
• 2:24
Speaker 5: Should we talk about our guest today? Yes, our guest
• 2:26
Speaker 5: today is Kevin Kine.
• 2:27
Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, you know him from Inside Amy Schumer
• 2:30
Speaker 2: and Law and Order SVU. Please welcome Kevin Kine. Catherine's
• 2:35
  Speaker 2: obsessed with SVUS.
• 2:37
Speaker 1: I watch out. I's gonna give it to you good.
• 2:39
Speaker 5: My husband and I have been rewatching from the beginnings.
• 2:42
Speaker 1: I meant kind of like, who is it? How can
• 2:44
Speaker 1: you rewatch from the beginning? Who is that? Kind of
• 2:46
  Speaker 1: time makes.
• 2:47
Speaker 5: A long time. We're in season nine, I think right now.
• 2:50
Speaker 1: But how many seasons of SVU are there?
• 2:52
Speaker 3: Well, I've been arrested on that show several times, so
• 2:55
Speaker 3: you'll see me a bunch before you get to my role.
• 2:58
Speaker 1: Now you were a sit and then brought back as
• 3:01
  Speaker 1: a regular.
• 3:01
Speaker 3: Yes, but I was never a creep. So that's the
• 3:04
Speaker 3: thing that let me.
• 3:04
Speaker 1: Kill Thank goodness. Okay, Kevin, I just asked, Kevin, this
• 3:08
Speaker 1: is my first time meeting you.
• 3:09
Speaker 3: Nice to meet you. By the way, we've actually been
• 3:11
Speaker 3: introduced a few times. But I do this thing with
• 3:14
Speaker 3: somebody who I love and respect. I do you the
• 3:17
Speaker 3: favor of never talking to you and wonderful because I
• 3:23
Speaker 3: think I was around with you and Humor somewhere.
• 3:26
Speaker 2: I'm sure, because you and Humor are like writing partners.
• 3:28
Speaker 2: I mean you've written lots of things together.
• 3:30
Speaker 3: Well yeah, producing and yeah direct each other.
• 3:33
Speaker 1: And right right, so you guys have had a long relationship.
• 3:37
Speaker 3: And I know like a lot of comics that you know.
• 3:39
Speaker 2: Okay, okay, great, great. Well, I was just saying to Kevin,
• 3:42
Speaker 2: are you married or single? Because there's a problem with
• 3:46
Speaker 2: white men single, straight white men right now. And I
• 3:50
Speaker 2: was at a party and there was all these like
• 3:51
Speaker 2: amazing women and they were all just saying the same thing,
• 3:54
Speaker 2: like they're all single, they all can't meet somebody, and
• 3:57
Speaker 2: I'm just like, I don't understand how this is possible.
• 4:00
Speaker 2: And I understand, as like a strong independent woman, that
• 4:02
Speaker 2: men are sometimes intimidated by successful women.
• 4:05
  Speaker 1: I get that.
• 4:06
Speaker 2: I think it's silly, but it exists, unfortunately, and I'm
• 4:09
Speaker 2: just wondering when were you going to get to a
• 4:11
Speaker 2: time where that doesn't exist. So I did this like
• 4:13
Speaker 2: dating app on my Instagram. I was like, you know what,
• 4:15
  Speaker 2: I'm going.
• 4:16
Speaker 1: To start actually asking straight men to reach out to
• 4:18
Speaker 1: me and go through the possibilities or the prospects for
• 4:24
Speaker 1: women and start setting people up myself.
• 4:27
Speaker 2: And I'm just going to take it on myself. I'm like,
• 4:29
Speaker 2: I'll fucking handle this. I can get the job done.
• 4:32
Speaker 2: And so I did kind of like an open casting call,
• 4:35
Speaker 2: if you will, and I said, contact me if you're
• 4:37
Speaker 2: really looking for a relationship, not just casual sex. You're
• 4:40
Speaker 2: not on you know, you could be on the apps, whatever,
• 4:42
Speaker 2: but just be honest about what you're after.
• 4:44
Speaker 1: And I have a lot of eligible women in my life.
• 4:48
  Speaker 1: I know a lot.
• 4:49
Speaker 2: Amy's now eligible too, not that I would ever fucking
• 4:53
Speaker 2: set her up with anyone, but I have a lot
• 4:56
Speaker 2: of eligible, wonderful women, successful, smart, beautiful, all of the
• 5:00
Speaker 2: things that you would want, And please reach out to
• 5:03
Speaker 2: me if you're interested in meeting one of these women.
• 5:07
Speaker 2: And I got about ninety percent of my dms were
• 5:10
Speaker 2: from gay men looking to hook up, and so I'm like,
• 5:12
Speaker 2: this isn't fucking grinder. Like I'm not worried about gay
• 5:15
Speaker 2: men hooking up. It feels like that's happening in a
• 5:17
Speaker 2: very healthy way, right, But the dearth of men straight
• 5:23
Speaker 2: men that responded. It's not that I have any delusions
• 5:26
Speaker 2: about the amount of straight men that are following my
• 5:28
Speaker 2: Instagram account, but I do.
• 5:31
  Speaker 1: I was. I just I couldn't.
• 5:32
Speaker 3: Believe, like, like none at all.
• 5:34
Speaker 1: No, a few, you know.
• 5:36
Speaker 2: A lot of older guys, which is fine. I'm working
• 5:38
Speaker 2: on it, like we're gonna do this. I'm serious about
• 5:40
Speaker 2: it because I really want to connect people. But there
• 5:43
Speaker 2: were so many women like ex wives or daughters of
• 5:48
Speaker 2: men that reached out on behalf of the men, not
• 5:51
Speaker 2: the men reaching out directly. And then when I would
• 5:53
Speaker 2: be like, oh, there's a guy in Philly, he's fifty five,
• 5:56
Speaker 2: he's looking for someone between the ages of forty to fifty,
• 5:58
Speaker 2: be pretty specific, like I have a big wide net
• 6:01
Speaker 2: of casting. Be specific, and I'll help try to help you.
• 6:04
Speaker 2: And then we found him, you know, We found three
• 6:06
Speaker 2: options in Philadelphia to this straight guy. We sent him
• 6:10
Speaker 2: three options and he doesn't respond to any of them.
• 6:13
Speaker 2: And I finally we you know, I have my social
• 6:15
Speaker 2: media team working on it, and they send it to
• 6:18
Speaker 2: his ex wife. We're like, listen, we can't get a
• 6:20
  Speaker 2: response from him.
• 6:22
Speaker 3: Do you think you were just an additional app? You think,
• 6:25
Speaker 3: like maybe they have they're on like three other apps
• 6:27
Speaker 3: and they're just addicted to scrolling other iyeh, like a
• 6:31
  Speaker 3: lot going on.
• 6:31
Speaker 1: Yeah, possibly, but like it's there's a lack of initiative
• 6:35
Speaker 1: and there's a lack of you know, you like, there's
• 6:38
Speaker 1: a lack of interest.
• 6:39
Speaker 2: It's almost like straight men. You know, I understand straight
• 6:42
Speaker 2: man feel under attack.
• 6:43
  Speaker 3: I get that, and I don't want just so I
• 6:45
Speaker 3: just want to slap a straight man says that I
• 6:48
Speaker 3: really do. I just that's the straight man syndrome comes
• 6:51
Speaker 3: out like me, Like I just I want to get
• 6:53
Speaker 3: aggressive and violent with with Like when I see Elon
• 6:58
Speaker 3: Musk on a stage, just somebody just give him the
• 7:01
Speaker 3: biggest wedgie possible, yeah, or just humiliate him and like
• 7:06
Speaker 3: just like I think we went too far with the
• 7:08
Speaker 3: anti bullieding thing and just them just so help.
• 7:15
Speaker 2: He's particularly disgusting. Yeah, so I'm not trying to help
• 7:18
Speaker 2: those kinds of guns.
• 7:19
  Speaker 1: I get it.
• 7:20
Speaker 2: I cannot because I have no interest in these fucking losers.
• 7:23
Speaker 3: But I don't you think people are gun shy.
• 7:26
Speaker 2: I don't want to give up on straight men, is
• 7:29
Speaker 2: what I want to I don't want to give up
• 7:31
Speaker 2: on them. I believe that maybe there could be some potential.
• 7:35
Speaker 2: You're a straight guy who recognizes it. So what do
• 7:39
Speaker 2: you think the fucking problem is?
• 7:41
Speaker 3: I you know, I think people aren't putting themselves out
• 7:44
Speaker 3: there in person, and and it's just become a habit.
• 7:48
  Speaker 3: You know, it's like it's uh and you're you're letting
• 7:50
Speaker 3: people do kind of casual kind of connections and hookups
• 7:54
Speaker 3: and things like that. That I just feel like people
• 7:58
Speaker 3: are just gunshy, just gunshy from putting themselves out there.
• 8:01
Speaker 3: But you know, I missed the whole app thing. I
• 8:03
Speaker 3: missed the whole like I like you, Yeah, like I
• 8:05
Speaker 3: missed it by a couple of years, thank god, because
• 8:07
Speaker 3: who knows what the hell rabbit hole I.
• 8:09
Speaker 1: Throw down right right, right, right right.
• 8:11
Speaker 3: But I think it's really like a eye witness people
• 8:15
Speaker 3: comparing themselves a lot. And I think the insecurity of
• 8:19
Speaker 3: men is just that an all time height te you,
• 8:21
Speaker 3: because that's all all in everybody's faces all the time.
• 8:25
  Speaker 2: I think that's a major component is that we've and
• 8:28
Speaker 2: I understood, like I'm with Obviously, I'm with you and
• 8:31
Speaker 2: probably way ahead of you with regard to men.
• 8:33
Speaker 1: And I don't want to hear about them bitching about
• 8:34
  Speaker 1: their attack.
• 8:35
Speaker 2: But I also have a feeling of like Catherine, like
• 8:37
Speaker 2: I feel sympathetic to a certain degree, like wait, I
• 8:41
Speaker 2: don't want to throw out the baby with the bathwater.
• 8:43
Speaker 2: There are good men out there.
• 8:44
  Speaker 3: There are I'm.
• 8:45
Speaker 5: Dating hashtag not all men, Chelsea?
• 8:48
Speaker 2: Is that a hashtag? I'll employ that I might be
• 8:51
Speaker 2: dating app? They asked me this morning. My agents were like,
• 8:53
Speaker 2: do you want to do a dating show? I go, no,
• 8:55
Speaker 2: I don't want to do a fucking dating show.
• 8:56
Speaker 3: I just you do want to be like Instagram?
• 8:59
Speaker 1: I just matched my.
• 9:00
  Speaker 2: I don't want I mean, I don't really want to
• 9:02
  Speaker 2: do it myself.
• 9:03
Speaker 1: Yeah, I just want people to be happy.
• 9:05
  Speaker 3: Yeah.
• 9:06
Speaker 2: And I think part of the reason why men are
• 9:08
Speaker 2: like feeling this way is because they have lost their
• 9:10
Speaker 2: way and they don't understand how to interact with women,
• 9:13
Speaker 2: and I want to kind of help re educate them,
• 9:15
Speaker 2: like maybe there should be an emotional IQ test or
• 9:18
Speaker 2: a social IQ test and see like what would you
• 9:20
Speaker 2: do in this situation and then send them to like
• 9:22
Speaker 2: a doggy camp for six weeks.
• 9:23
Speaker 3: That would be so they can train. Yeah, I know that.
• 9:27
Speaker 3: I think everybody needs training right now, Like, I think
• 9:29
Speaker 3: that's really the most important. Yeah, So that's how hard
• 9:32
Speaker 3: of the process. That's how I think you should put
• 9:34
Speaker 3: the training up front.
• 9:35
  Speaker 1: Yeah.
• 9:36
Speaker 2: Well, I feel like if you're going to contact me,
• 9:38
Speaker 2: you know that that's what's going to be required.
• 9:40
Speaker 1: Like it's not going to just be like you're in.
• 9:42
Speaker 1: You're going to be like okay.
• 9:43
Speaker 2: And also there's going to be repercussions if you're an
• 9:45
  Speaker 2: asshole about it.
• 9:46
Speaker 1: Yeah, if you're if you you know.
• 9:48
Speaker 2: So, basically they're aggregating like ten eligible bachelors. I'm going
• 9:52
Speaker 2: to throw them up on my Instagram and let the
• 9:54
Speaker 2: women have at it, yeah, and say, these guys are
• 9:56
Speaker 2: looking for love, these guys are looking for a relationship.
• 9:59
Speaker 2: You whoever wants them, wants them, because that's different than
• 10:02
Speaker 2: putting up a bunch.
• 10:03
Speaker 1: Of women and then having men, you know what I mean. Yeah,
• 10:05
  Speaker 1: for them. I don't think.
• 10:06
Speaker 3: I think like a lot of guys I know, like
• 10:08
Speaker 3: are chasing their time, right They they think they don't
• 10:12
Speaker 3: have enough money, yet they don't. They're not at the
• 10:14
Speaker 3: spot where they're supposed to be to really put themselves
• 10:16
Speaker 3: out there, and it becomes this kind of like kind
• 10:20
Speaker 3: of arrested development in middle aged you know what I mean,
• 10:24
  Speaker 3: Like it's I'm getting clear of this, I'm just a
• 10:27
Speaker 3: few steps away from this, and they're not ever. Like
• 10:30
Speaker 3: you just kind of have to give them a kick,
• 10:32
Speaker 3: and they asked to put themselves out there.
• 10:34
Speaker 2: Yeah, that's an interesting point. That's a good point that
• 10:36
Speaker 2: you raised. How did you meet your wife years and
• 10:40
Speaker 2: years ago and years ago?
• 10:41
Speaker 3: Uh, you know, I haven't told this story publicly, but
• 10:44
Speaker 3: she was making a film with her boyfriend at the time,
• 10:51
Speaker 3: nice and they cast me as her husband in the film. Oh,
• 10:55
Speaker 3: nothing happened after that, but they broke up, we became friends,
• 10:59
Speaker 3: and then we we kind of hooked up a few
• 11:01
Speaker 3: years later after that. But it sounds very sortid.
• 11:04
Speaker 2: It does sound sortid, and it sounds exactly like somebody
• 11:07
Speaker 2: would what somebody would say if they did have an
• 11:09
Speaker 2: affair on set while somebody was in a relationship.
• 11:12
Speaker 3: If anybody knew me at the time.
• 11:14
Speaker 1: They would have believed that.
• 11:15
Speaker 3: Ye yeah for sure.
• 11:16
Speaker 2: But also I think once you get married and you're
• 11:18
Speaker 2: married to that person, even if you did have an affair,
• 11:21
Speaker 2: who gives a shit, Like you're married, so that's more
• 11:23
Speaker 2: important than a relationship.
• 11:24
Speaker 3: Yeah right, yeah, but I'm like this thick headed Irish asshole,
• 11:28
Speaker 3: so like I could see myself just ten years because
• 11:31
Speaker 3: just I want to prove you wrong, you know what
• 11:33
  Speaker 3: I mean?
• 11:33
Speaker 2: Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, just getting married to be like
• 11:35
Speaker 2: oh yeah, it's like Woody Allen and Sun Yee, Like
• 11:37
Speaker 2: I believe they're still married because he's like, this.
• 11:39
Speaker 3: Is not my daughter.
• 11:40
Speaker 1: We were meant to be together, and it's like, now
• 11:43
  Speaker 1: it's your fucking.
• 11:43
Speaker 3: Daughter and that's going to be his last breath. I
• 11:46
Speaker 3: told you. Yeah yeah.
• 11:51
Speaker 1: So how did you and Amy Schumer start working together?
• 11:54
Speaker 3: We met in an acting program really yeah, with William
• 11:58
  Speaker 3: sper Studios.
• 12:00
Speaker 1: That tell me, I like it. I like you about
• 12:01
  Speaker 1: acting classes.
• 12:02
Speaker 3: Bill Aspert was like this famous acting teacher, Like we
• 12:06
Speaker 3: got to work with people that he taught years ago,
• 12:08
Speaker 3: like Jeff Goldbloom, and so he's been around since like
• 12:10
Speaker 3: the sixties. It was like a two year program and
• 12:13
Speaker 3: you sort of like reveal yourself to your classmates, like
• 12:17
Speaker 3: you just kind of get broken down, like the Marine
• 12:19
Speaker 3: Corps in the first year, it's in tears and everybody
• 12:22
Speaker 3: breaks up from their relationship, and like you just set.
• 12:24
Speaker 1: A bond, so you do it for two years. You
• 12:26
Speaker 1: have to commit to two years.
• 12:27
Speaker 3: Yeah, it was a two years in their program.
• 12:30
Speaker 1: So yeah, that sounds intense. How old were you when
• 12:32
  Speaker 1: you did that?
• 12:33
Speaker 3: I was, you know what it was. It was like
• 12:34
Speaker 3: my my my mother had just passed away. It was
• 12:37
Speaker 3: in my twenties, and I was just like I was
• 12:42
Speaker 3: living in LA with a girlfriend who was in one
• 12:45
Speaker 3: of those pop bands, and I was just like, I
• 12:47
Speaker 3: got to get out of here, right. I came back
• 12:49
Speaker 3: to New York and I.
• 12:50
Speaker 1: Did you break up with your girlfriend?
• 12:51
  Speaker 6: No?
• 12:52
Speaker 3: Not well, yes, By the end of the two years,
• 12:53
Speaker 3: they were right in their predictions, because it's a thing
• 12:56
Speaker 3: where you like you're always have to be honest about
• 12:58
Speaker 3: your impulses and what you're thinking and telling the truth
• 13:01
Speaker 3: all the time all the time. Yeah, I mean like
• 13:03
Speaker 3: on the stage, so you're you're always conscious like a process.
• 13:06
Speaker 3: Stop lying yourself, stop protecting yourself and all that stuff,
• 13:08
Speaker 3: and so it just happens. Everybody's just kind of in
• 13:12
Speaker 3: their little protective womb, and people would end up breaking
• 13:15
Speaker 3: up with whatever relationship they were in at the time.
• 13:17
Speaker 3: Also because you're in your twenties and everybody's an idiot.
• 13:19
Speaker 1: Right right, right right. I've never heard of William Asper.
• 13:22
Speaker 3: Yeah, I like this.
• 13:24
Speaker 2: I mean, I'm interested. I like to hear about different techniques.
• 13:27
Speaker 3: Yeah, he was like the I think he was like
• 13:29
Speaker 3: one of the first teacher. Meisner trained as a teacher,
• 13:32
Speaker 3: so it was like he started his own school. He'd
• 13:35
Speaker 3: been there for a long time. It's still there. His
• 13:36
  Speaker 3: wife runs it.
• 13:37
Speaker 1: And do you apply all of that work?
• 13:39
Speaker 2: Is that the only kind of acting training that you've
• 13:41
Speaker 2: done or have you done other acting trains?
• 13:43
Speaker 3: I did in college, which is kind of worthless, you know,
• 13:47
Speaker 3: but this this is a very old school like kind
• 13:49
Speaker 3: of methodology that you stick to. Yeah, and Amy and
• 13:52
Speaker 3: I did it, and we applied it to sketch comedy,
• 13:55
Speaker 3: we applied it to everything, and it was it's always
• 13:57
Speaker 3: kind of worked for us. So it's been like a
• 13:58
Speaker 3: little of our sleeves.
• 14:00
Speaker 1: Yeah, And what was the first thing, you guys, what
• 14:02
Speaker 1: was the first project that you guys worked on together, well,
• 14:05
  Speaker 1: we the.
• 14:05
Speaker 3: First thing we ever produced was our showcase for that
• 14:08
Speaker 3: for that program. And then we would do we started
• 14:11
Speaker 3: a theater company, and then we would have we would
• 14:15
Speaker 3: do these plays and we would have the space for
• 14:17
Speaker 3: a long time and on dark days and we were like, well,
• 14:19
Speaker 3: let's raise the extra money and we would throw these
• 14:21
Speaker 3: comedy shows because she was starting to do well in
• 14:24
Speaker 3: stand up. She was like, she had just graduated from
• 14:27
Speaker 3: doing those Bringer shows and she was starting to get
• 14:30
Speaker 3: to know comics. And then the comedy show started to
• 14:34
Speaker 3: blow up, and Amy got hired. I think, this is
• 14:39
Speaker 3: this is what it's like working with Abe. She worn't.
• 14:41
Speaker 3: She got hired by I don't want to say, one
• 14:44
Speaker 3: of those beer one of those shitty beer companies Genesee
• 14:47
Speaker 3: Ale or one of those like to do like a
• 14:51
Speaker 3: the CEO's back wife's backyard party. She did the stand
• 14:54
Speaker 3: up there, and the CEO had complained to her that
• 14:57
Speaker 3: all the kids were drinking like paps blue rib and
• 15:00
Speaker 3: and I don't want to whatever the company was. He's like, well,
• 15:03
Speaker 3: my beer is just like that and all this stuff,
• 15:05
Speaker 3: you know, And she said, well, you know, I have
• 15:08
Speaker 3: the hottest show downtown, send us thirty five thirty packs
• 15:11
Speaker 3: next week, and then Schumer runs into our next company meeting,
• 15:15
Speaker 3: like I have thirty five thirty packs coming. We have
• 15:17
Speaker 3: to come up with a show. And that's how we
• 15:18
Speaker 3: started doing comedy show.
• 15:20
Speaker 1: It was chasing alcohol.
• 15:21
Speaker 3: Chasing alcohol. It was like twenty bucks all you can drink.
• 15:24
Speaker 3: And then then we were able to get the good
• 15:26
Speaker 3: comics in that she she knew. And then because of
• 15:29
Speaker 3: the beer, because of the audience, the audience was young,
• 15:31
Speaker 3: it was cool. It was like just broke young people
• 15:34
Speaker 3: and they like the vibe. And then we were pretty smart.
• 15:37
Speaker 3: We took all the hot girls esper studio and asked
• 15:39
Speaker 3: them to be out front. So then we'd greet all
• 15:41
Speaker 3: the male comics coming in and they're like, you got
• 15:43
Speaker 3: to do the show, you know, to each other. Then
• 15:45
Speaker 3: it started to graduate and we had this like huge
• 15:48
Speaker 3: audience that end, so we were like, we should put
• 15:50
Speaker 3: our actors in front of it. And that's when Amy
• 15:52
Speaker 3: and my friend Brandon a couple of other people just
• 15:54
Speaker 3: first started writing. We would open the play with like
• 15:57
Speaker 3: we would we would open the show with a three
• 15:59
Speaker 3: to four minute play. It was really a sketch but
• 16:01
Speaker 3: we refuse to call it a sketch because we were artists. Yes,
• 16:05
Speaker 3: but it was all comedy and it was just that's
• 16:07
Speaker 3: how we just started doing everything on the fly.
• 16:08
Speaker 1: I love it. What a cute og story.
• 16:11
Speaker 3: And then she I think, you know what's funny is
• 16:13
Speaker 3: I think when she did I don't know if she
• 16:16
Speaker 3: ever told you this, but when she did the roasts,
• 16:20
Speaker 3: the Charlie Sheen roast, and Comedy Central wanted a pilot
• 16:24
Speaker 3: from her. I think basically they were hoping she was
• 16:26
Speaker 3: going to try to rip off your show on Comedy Show.
• 16:29
  Speaker 1: Yeah, oh yeah.
• 16:30
Speaker 3: And she was like, I'm not doing that. I just
• 16:32
Speaker 3: want to do what we're doing. So she pitched a
• 16:34
Speaker 3: sketch show to them, which I think they were really
• 16:36
Speaker 3: bummed about because they told her the show they wanted
• 16:38
  Speaker 3: her to pick.
• 16:39
Speaker 1: Oh yeah, yeah, yeah yeah.
• 16:40
Speaker 3: So they said we'll give you a pilot, and then
• 16:42
  Speaker 3: the pilot did.
• 16:43
Speaker 2: Well inside it was sure right yeah yeah and so
• 16:47
Speaker 2: and you're also friends with Rosebud and Yaminika.
• 16:49
  Speaker 3: Oh yeah.
• 16:50
Speaker 1: Dominika is basically my current project.
• 16:54
  Speaker 3: Really.
• 16:55
Speaker 2: Yes, she is on the road with me a lot.
• 16:57
Speaker 2: We're going away this weekend. We have three shows this
• 16:58
Speaker 2: weekend on the East Coast, and she is the hottest
• 17:02
Speaker 2: mess around as I'm sure you well know.
• 17:03
Speaker 3: I know those are two other.
• 17:05
Speaker 2: Single comedians now, But Yaminika, what's your.
• 17:10
  Speaker 3: Yeah?
• 17:10
  Speaker 1: Yeah, I know.
• 17:11
Speaker 2: I was supposed to see her the other night, but
• 17:12
Speaker 2: then she had dental work and she's like, I'm in
• 17:14
Speaker 2: a lot of pain, and I was like, okay, well
• 17:15
Speaker 2: I wanted to go home anyway, So that's perfect.
• 17:18
Speaker 1: But Yaminica I see all the time.
• 17:20
Speaker 2: So like Yaminika is like, a, we're actually producing her podcast.
• 17:24
Speaker 1: She's going to have a podcast on this platform.
• 17:26
Speaker 2: That's great, yeah, because she needs an outlet so she
• 17:29
Speaker 2: can stop doing live instagrams twenty four times a day.
• 17:31
  Speaker 3: Is she's still boxing, She's.
• 17:33
Speaker 2: Doing something physical, I'm not sure if it's boxing. She's
• 17:36
Speaker 2: always trying to beseech me to work out with her,
• 17:39
  Speaker 2: but I won't.
• 17:40
  Speaker 1: Have no interest.
• 17:40
Speaker 2: I know how to work out, you know, I'm not
• 17:42
Speaker 2: looking to get into boxing or throwing my back out.
• 17:44
Speaker 2: But being on the road with her is especially challenging
• 17:47
Speaker 2: because she'll like she doesn't understand where she is, or
• 17:51
Speaker 2: I guess how to book a hotel room. The last
• 17:53
Speaker 2: time we were together, she booked two hotel rooms in
• 17:56
Speaker 2: the same city, but not in the city we were in.
• 17:59
Speaker 2: So we three nights different cities and every night was off.
• 18:03
Speaker 2: So she slept in my bed two nights.
• 18:05
Speaker 1: In a row. One night.
• 18:07
Speaker 2: I'm fine with, you know what I mean, sure in
• 18:09
Speaker 2: case of an emergency, pretty much anyone can sleep with
• 18:11
Speaker 2: me for a night. Yeah, two nights is like where
• 18:13
Speaker 2: things start to get tricky. And tomorrow because.
• 18:16
Speaker 3: We're one more night.
• 18:17
Speaker 2: You're in a relationship, well right, And also with her,
• 18:19
  Speaker 2: it's like I don't like it's she's crazy. She sucks
• 18:22
Speaker 2: her thumb, you know, like I woke up and just look,
• 18:25
Speaker 2: I saw a giant baby in my bed.
• 18:27
Speaker 1: Yeah, and I was like, oh my god, am I mother?
• 18:29
  Speaker 3: I hope not.
• 18:30
Speaker 2: But this weekend she's meeting me, you know, because of
• 18:33
Speaker 2: the TSA shit, it's all yeah, yeah, right, so we've
• 18:36
Speaker 2: got to really like be prepared. And so she's meeting
• 18:39
Speaker 2: me at my hotel tomorrow. We're taking a very early
• 18:41
Speaker 2: flight to get to Portland main and I was like,
• 18:43
Speaker 2: I always have to lie to her and say it's
• 18:45
Speaker 2: an hour, you know, earlier than it is.
• 18:47
Speaker 3: She showed disay, Yeah, I feel like that was you
• 18:50
Speaker 3: probably were not like that when you were opening for somebody, right, never, No, No,
• 18:54
Speaker 3: that's most people though, right, I guess.
• 18:56
Speaker 1: So I think it's a certain personality type.
• 18:59
Speaker 2: I mean, what do you think you're like, there's type
• 19:01
Speaker 2: A personality, right, But then there's not like there's not
• 19:04
  Speaker 2: a type B.
• 19:05
Speaker 1: It's just everything else.
• 19:07
Speaker 3: Well, Amy used to like kill two birds of one son,
• 19:10
Speaker 3: like we should like come on the road and help
• 19:12
Speaker 3: me out with the venues, and I would be in
• 19:14
Speaker 3: charge of everybody, and then during the day we would
• 19:17
Speaker 3: work on a script. You know, Wow, I was I
• 19:21
Speaker 3: was like, you know, for a long time, my traveling
• 19:24
Speaker 3: partner was Mark Norman because she was opening he was
• 19:27
Speaker 3: opening for Amy. So it just seems like the most
• 19:31
Speaker 3: comics are probably not type A.
• 19:34
Speaker 2: I guess what I need is like I need an
• 19:36
Speaker 2: outline of what the other types of personalities are. Yeah,
• 19:39
Speaker 2: it's like type A. And then what it's like when
• 19:40
Speaker 2: they say third world country and first world country. There's
• 19:43
Speaker 2: no second world country. That's not a thing, and there's
• 19:46
Speaker 2: no fourth world. It's third world or first world Like
• 19:48
  Speaker 2: I don't yeah.
• 19:49
  Speaker 3: But there's there's like I feel like there's there's there's
• 19:53
  Speaker 3: Type A, which I don't think I am. I think
• 19:55
Speaker 3: I'm more go with the flow, but you have to
• 19:56
Speaker 3: recognize the flow. But then there's like the whole myster Magoo.
• 20:00
Speaker 1: I can tell you're not Type A already, yeah well right.
• 20:03
Speaker 3: Yeah, but but the whole mister Magoo, like you know
• 20:06
Speaker 3: where you just you just have to save people from
• 20:08
Speaker 3: stepping off a cliff every three seconds. Yeah. Yeah, that's
• 20:11
Speaker 3: a type that is a big and they just find
• 20:14
Speaker 3: out to circulate people around them that that take care
• 20:16
  Speaker 3: of them.
• 20:17
Speaker 1: Ah right, that's right. That is a type. So I
• 20:19
Speaker 1: feel like there's like a lot of Catherine.
• 20:21
Speaker 2: This is something a subject matter we should delve into further,
• 20:24
Speaker 2: because I feel like there are a lot of other
• 20:26
Speaker 2: types of personalities that haven't been clearly defined.
• 20:30
  Speaker 1: Yeah.
• 20:30
Speaker 4: I feel like the Internet is starting to say that this,
• 20:32
Speaker 4: like the mister Magoo type is type B. It's like
• 20:35
Speaker 4: your messy friend, your type B friend on vacation is
• 20:37
Speaker 4: the one who, like you know, books the flight to
• 20:39
Speaker 4: the wrong place and you have to save them at
• 20:41
Speaker 4: the last minute. Like that's kind of what the Internet
• 20:43
Speaker 4: is saying, is type B right now?
• 20:45
Speaker 3: Yeah, right, But I agree with you. I'm not Type A,
• 20:48
Speaker 3: but I'm not that.
• 20:49
  Speaker 1: Right, Yeah, I don't think I'm Type A either. Am
• 20:52
  Speaker 1: I Type A?
• 20:53
  Speaker 4: I don't think you're Type A, but you do like
• 20:55
  Speaker 4: things a certain way. But I wouldn't say you're like
• 20:58
Speaker 4: anal retentive Type A.
• 21:00
  Speaker 1: I'm fastidious. I don't think I very I like things
• 21:02
  Speaker 1: a certain way.
• 21:03
Speaker 2: I also am Type A when I need to be
• 21:05
Speaker 2: Type A, and then I go off the fucking rails
• 21:07
Speaker 2: when I don't you have your shits again there? Yeah,
• 21:09
Speaker 2: Like I'm I'm very good about time management. I'm very
• 21:11
Speaker 2: good about other people's times, and I just like I
• 21:14
Speaker 2: want to get this shit done and in a time
• 21:16
  Speaker 2: efficient way. I don't like to like have a writer's
• 21:18
Speaker 2: meeting for six hours.
• 21:20
Speaker 1: I like to have a writer's meeting for yeah and
• 21:21
  Speaker 1: a half hours.
• 21:22
Speaker 3: Every writer's meeting is mostly about ordering lunch.
• 21:25
  Speaker 1: Yes, exactly.
• 21:27
Speaker 4: Well, it's like Fortune Themes start telling the story when
• 21:29
Speaker 4: she came on the show about like you had your
• 21:32
Speaker 4: first meeting with her. There were other people in the meeting,
• 21:34
Speaker 4: and then like halfway through you knew it was a yes,
• 21:36
Speaker 4: so you just got up and left the room, and
• 21:38
Speaker 4: she figured that minute was.
• 21:39
Speaker 5: A no, Like that you weren't going to hire.
• 21:41
Speaker 1: Her, right right? Yeah, I appreciate that. Yeah, it's just
• 21:45
Speaker 1: so much. I appreciate it too. I think it's great.
• 21:47
Speaker 2: Like I'm like what, I think the most irksome thing
• 21:50
Speaker 2: about any personality type is just someone who has no
• 21:53
Speaker 2: regard for other people's time.
• 21:55
Speaker 1: You know what I mean.
• 21:56
Speaker 2: Like that's kind of like what being late is. Even
• 22:00
Speaker 2: though many people who are late, that's not the case.
• 22:03
Speaker 2: They're just bad at their own time management and it
• 22:05
Speaker 2: spills over into your time. But I really do think
• 22:09
Speaker 2: the number one quality should have is to be considerate
• 22:12
  Speaker 2: of other people.
• 22:13
Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean that's you really kind of blow yourself
• 22:17
Speaker 3: up otherwise, like you're gonna somebody's gonna try to take
• 22:19
Speaker 3: you down. So you're from Philly originally. Yeah, in high school,
• 22:24
Speaker 3: my father did the worst thing possible and he moved
• 22:28
Speaker 3: me in high school to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
• 22:33
  Speaker 1: Yikes.
• 22:33
Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah, And it was as bad as it sounds
• 22:36
  Speaker 3: a transition.
• 22:38
Speaker 2: I've been in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, but I never
• 22:40
Speaker 2: went to high school in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
• 22:42
Speaker 3: It was like my cousin Vinnie with no comedy, you know.
• 22:45
Speaker 3: It was like that, And it's just a lot of.
• 22:47
Speaker 1: Neon and were you the Vinnie.
• 22:50
  Speaker 3: I don't know where I was. Yeah, I feel like
• 22:52
Speaker 3: probably more, but it was uh yeah. And I feel
• 23:00
Speaker 3: like slowly, like it's been a dragon trace chasing me.
• 23:05
Speaker 3: Like I feel like the whole country's turned into Myrtle Beach,
• 23:07
Speaker 3: South Carolina. It's like I hear country music in a
• 23:10
Speaker 3: bodega in Brooklyn. It's it's not good for me. It's
• 23:13
  Speaker 3: like triggering.
• 23:13
Speaker 1: Is South Carolina considered country?
• 23:16
Speaker 3: Well, they call the red.
• 23:21
  Speaker 1: That's what I meant. I didn't mean country.
• 23:23
Speaker 2: Yeah, the South, the redneck rivy era. So did you
• 23:27
Speaker 2: have a girlfriend in high school that you left when
• 23:28
Speaker 2: you went to Myrtle Beach.
• 23:29
Speaker 3: I mean we were just starting to make that happen,
• 23:32
Speaker 3: you know what I mean, we were starting to get well.
• 23:36
Speaker 3: I was trying to hit my stride. I come from
• 23:38
Speaker 3: all these like my mother, her sisters, their daughters there,
• 23:43
Speaker 3: and they're all like my mother's they're wives of gangsters
• 23:47
Speaker 3: and like every they are people you don't mess with.
• 23:50
Speaker 3: And the most important thing for me was to keep
• 23:53
Speaker 3: it all a secret because they would just destroy you.
• 23:57
Speaker 3: They would just blow you up anyway. So it was
• 24:01
Speaker 3: it was very it was everything was on the d
• 24:04
  Speaker 3: d L for me.
• 24:05
Speaker 1: So it's like, so do you feel like a Philly
• 24:08
  Speaker 1: person though.
• 24:09
Speaker 3: Yeah, because I go back. I was going back at
• 24:12
Speaker 3: the time. Every chance I get, I go. You know,
• 24:14
Speaker 3: it's my that's who my family, extended family. Yeah, my
• 24:18
Speaker 3: brothers moved back to South Philly and Myrtle Beach totally
• 24:22
Speaker 3: does anyone you know? And we worked in like a bar.
• 24:25
Speaker 3: My parents own a bar. It was like a Philly
• 24:26
Speaker 3: known Philly bar and everybody it was like a Philly thing.
• 24:29
Speaker 1: So that's cool. And so do you still have family
• 24:32
Speaker 1: in Myrtle Beach that you have to visit? No? Never,
• 24:34
  Speaker 1: that's good.
• 24:35
Speaker 3: Yeah, I've been back there.
• 24:36
Speaker 1: And who's your team?
• 24:39
Speaker 3: Oh it's all a Philly Yeah.
• 24:40
Speaker 1: You don't cross over Jersey or New York teams.
• 24:43
Speaker 3: No, Phillies are right, I have to I basketball is
• 24:47
Speaker 3: in the family. I'm the Philadelphia Big Five fan. Villanova
• 24:49
Speaker 3: is a big thing. Most of the knicks are from
• 24:51
Speaker 3: Villanova and Jalen Brunson is that right? Yeah? And Jalen
• 24:54
Speaker 3: Brunson are is a huge SVU fan and his father
• 24:59
Speaker 3: is too. And I watched his father play at Temple
• 25:01
  Speaker 3: at the Polestro. Oh yeah, so there's a there's a
• 25:04
  Speaker 3: bomb there.
• 25:04
Speaker 2: There's a lot of people from my high school that
• 25:06
Speaker 2: went to Temple University.
• 25:07
Speaker 1: That was like a big school to go to from
• 25:09
  Speaker 1: New Jersey.
• 25:10
Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, yeah yeah.
• 25:12
Speaker 2: And then there's that part of New Jersey where it
• 25:13
Speaker 2: meets Philly and everyone has the same accent where they panting.
• 25:16
Speaker 3: I'm going down to Wildwood, New Jersey. Oh, my kid
• 25:20
Speaker 3: is obsessed with would I have some family down there? Okay.
• 25:23
Speaker 3: I was baptized in Wildwood, New Jersey. Oh, because my
• 25:27
Speaker 3: parents still wouldn't give I was born in July and
• 25:30
Speaker 3: baptized there in August because they would not give up
• 25:32
Speaker 3: one summer in wild Wood, New Jersey. Oh yeah.
• 25:35
Speaker 1: Yeah. People are really really into the Jersey Shore.
• 25:38
  Speaker 3: Yeah yeah.
• 25:38
Speaker 2: And there's so many different parts of the Jersey Shore.
• 25:40
Speaker 2: And there are actually really nice parts of the Jersey Shore.
• 25:43
Speaker 3: Ye, I mean it.
• 25:44
Speaker 1: I mean some of them are not nice, but.
• 25:46
Speaker 2: Like there's like bell Mar, There's there's some other places.
• 25:50
Speaker 2: I did ever went to the Jersey Shore because I
• 25:51
Speaker 2: grew up on the vineyard in the summertime Artha's Vineyards did.
• 25:53
Speaker 2: My parents had a summerhouse there, so I would go there.
• 25:56
Speaker 2: And then once I was like seventeen eighteen, all my
• 25:58
Speaker 2: friends were going down to the Jersey Shore. I'm like,
• 25:59
Speaker 2: I want to go to the Sure and my parents
• 26:00
Speaker 2: are like, no, you don't.
• 26:02
Speaker 1: You have no idea.
• 26:03
Speaker 2: How lucky you are to be have a house of
• 26:05
Speaker 2: Martha's Unior, And I was like, who gives a shit
• 26:06
Speaker 2: about Marthin's mir I wanted to get late, you know.
• 26:08
Speaker 1: Yeah, I was like, I want to go meet would have.
• 26:10
Speaker 3: Been like an episode of The Walking Dead for you
• 26:12
Speaker 3: or something like that.
• 26:13
Speaker 1: Yeah, totally, totally. So how did you start on SVU,
• 26:17
Speaker 1: Like what was your first experience on that show?
• 26:21
  Speaker 3: I was doing well. I'd been a guest star a
• 26:23
Speaker 3: couple of times on the show, and the last time
• 26:26
Speaker 3: I was a guest star, Marishka directed the episode and
• 26:29
Speaker 3: I was like, it was like this big I had
• 26:31
Speaker 3: a spin out. I thought a guy raped my wife.
• 26:33
Speaker 3: I held him hostage in a bar.
• 26:35
Speaker 1: It was like a big thing that guest stars is
• 26:36
Speaker 1: different characters each time, obviously, which is funny that they
• 26:39
Speaker 1: bring back the same actor to play different roles.
• 26:41
Speaker 3: Yeah, this was like three or four years later and
• 26:44
Speaker 3: this role came up and I think she kind of
• 26:45
Speaker 3: put her finger on the button for me.
• 26:47
Speaker 1: And she's awesome. She's hard to say, but she's Yeah.
• 26:51
  Speaker 1: I mean, she's unbelievable. The amount. I just can't believe
• 26:54
Speaker 1: how many seasons, Catherine are you think it was twenty six?
• 26:57
Speaker 5: I think twenty seven.
• 26:59
  Speaker 1: It's like I'm about.
• 27:01
Speaker 3: To shoot the last episode of twenty seven.
• 27:03
Speaker 1: That's a great gig to have.
• 27:04
Speaker 3: It's a great gig. Yeah, I you know, they they
• 27:07
Speaker 3: I'm working with Ice Tea this week, and that's like
• 27:11
Speaker 3: in of itself. A day to hang with him is
• 27:13
Speaker 3: like the greatest thing anyone can do.
• 27:15
Speaker 1: Yeah, tell tell me about Iced Tea. I don't know that.
• 27:18
Speaker 5: I also have to interject and ask, does Coco ever
• 27:21
Speaker 5: visit him on set?
• 27:22
Speaker 2: Because it's still married those Wow, she's the best.
• 27:27
Speaker 1: Wow, what a successful Hollywood.
• 27:30
  Speaker 3: Couple who.
• 27:33
Speaker 1: Show to ask you?
• 27:35
Speaker 3: I think she still does this Like I think she
• 27:37
Speaker 3: she types his lines into the notes on his iPhone
• 27:40
Speaker 3: form every day. They're like the best.
• 27:42
Speaker 1: One of the most successful Hollywood couples who would be
• 27:45
Speaker 1: named Cocoa and Iced Tea. Tell us what it's like
• 27:48
Speaker 1: working with Ice Tea.
• 27:49
Speaker 3: He's you know, it's like every like that must be fun.
• 27:52
Speaker 3: The stories are gold because he's lived like nine lives
• 27:54
Speaker 3: and just in this business, just on the show. Yeah,
• 27:57
Speaker 3: just on the show. Yeah, and yeah, it's just he's
• 28:01
Speaker 3: never I've never seen him in a bad mood.
• 28:03
  Speaker 1: Really.
• 28:03
Speaker 3: Yeah, he's just the peace with the world and he's
• 28:05
Speaker 3: just giving you hustling lessons all the time. You know.
• 28:09
Speaker 3: It's just so uh. So I got it was fortunate
• 28:13
Speaker 3: people liked our kind of and so we were together
• 28:16
Speaker 3: a lot, and he he just kind of schooled me
• 28:18
Speaker 3: on how to operate there.
• 28:20
Speaker 1: I mean, what have you learned from him?
• 28:21
Speaker 3: Well, you know, the first thing you do when you
• 28:23
Speaker 3: look at a script is like see how many days off?
• 28:27
Speaker 3: How many are outside in the winner? Uh and then
• 28:32
Speaker 3: and usually usually the acting advice or or when you
• 28:36
Speaker 3: discuss a scene in the moment, it's it's really the
• 28:39
Speaker 3: single most important question is do you want to go home?
• 28:45
Speaker 1: I appreciate people who get to work and are only
• 28:47
Speaker 1: interested in getting out of one. Yeah, yeah, you know,
• 28:50
Speaker 1: like I like that.
• 28:51
Speaker 3: But I had this weird thing. We were doing Life
• 28:52
Speaker 3: and Beth and like I was directing like Yamanika and.
• 28:55
Speaker 1: Russia's at great show by the way on Hulu everybody.
• 28:58
Speaker 3: And so I was playing like a and a crazy
• 29:00
Speaker 3: character on that, and you know, I have these mornings
• 29:03
Speaker 3: with someone like Cola Scolo doing a scene and then
• 29:07
Speaker 3: I'd have the van and at night be with iced
• 29:09
Speaker 3: tea and prostitutes like that was like be a full day.
• 29:14
Speaker 1: That's a full day. That is a full day more
• 29:16
Speaker 1: than one way. I like it. Okay, we give advice
• 29:23
Speaker 1: to people. Okay, do we have any straight callers today?
• 29:25
Speaker 1: That would be nice to straight women?
• 29:27
Speaker 3: This would be my first time giving advice without any alcohol.
• 29:30
Speaker 1: Yes, yeah, exactly. We're totally unqualified for you. I'm sure
• 29:36
  Speaker 1: we do that.
• 29:37
Speaker 4: Speaking of drinks, our one drink question today is this
• 29:41
Speaker 4: is about a straight man, but not from a straight man.
• 29:43
Speaker 5: Oh so nicky, says dear Chelsea.
• 29:45
Speaker 4: I guess my boyfriend of nine months and I are
• 29:48
Speaker 4: both forty, and I'm convinced he doesn't brush his teeth.
• 29:52
Speaker 5: He has fine teeth.
• 29:53
Speaker 4: They're straight, not white, but not yellow, sometimes not always
• 29:56
Speaker 4: stinky breath. Of the times I've stayed over in all
• 29:59
Speaker 4: of the nine months, he's brushed his teeth maybe two
• 30:02
Speaker 4: times that I've seen. I've been in his bathroom enough
• 30:04
Speaker 4: to know he hasn't changed his brush once since in
• 30:07
Speaker 4: the time we've been dating and it's frayed and gross.
• 30:09
Speaker 4: His toothpaste is dried out with no cap on it.
• 30:11
Speaker 4: I couldn't get any toothpaste out of the tube when
• 30:13
Speaker 4: I tried to use it. How do you kindly help
• 30:16
Speaker 4: someone with this? I truly don't want to lose him
• 30:18
Speaker 4: over something so petty. He's the kindest, gentlest, nicest man
• 30:21
Speaker 4: I've ever met, and I do love him. I'm having
• 30:23
Speaker 4: trouble not being so icked out. Help Nikki.
• 30:26
Speaker 2: It's first of all, it's this is disgusting. It's not
• 30:31
Speaker 2: acceptable behavior at all. And you're having trouble like you
• 30:34
Speaker 2: should have been having trouble with this from the rip,
• 30:37
Speaker 2: like right as Cowboy would say, right off the rip.
• 30:39
Speaker 3: This is is nine months in.
• 30:41
Speaker 2: This is It's unbelievable that you've been able to control
• 30:45
Speaker 2: yourself for this long.
• 30:46
Speaker 1: I have a serious situation about oral hygiene. I brush
• 30:50
  Speaker 1: my teeth.
• 30:51
Speaker 2: I wake up in the middle of the night sometimes
• 30:53
Speaker 2: and brush my teeth if I don't like the taste
• 30:54
Speaker 2: in my mouth. I have a tongue scraper, toothbrush, and
• 30:57
Speaker 2: dental floss. I floss probably three times. I know everybody
• 31:01
Speaker 2: doesn't do that, but no, I don't have that, but
• 31:04
  Speaker 2: I have a tongue scraper.
• 31:05
Speaker 1: Because my dentist told me about it.
• 31:06
Speaker 2: I was like, I want all the tools that are
• 31:08
Speaker 2: available to me having a clean, fresh breath and a
• 31:11
Speaker 2: clean mouth, because that is very important. He needs an
• 31:14
Speaker 2: education in dental hygiene.
• 31:16
Speaker 1: You have to get him crust white stripes first of all,
• 31:18
Speaker 1: and you have to and you have to you have
• 31:20
Speaker 1: to literally sit down with him.
• 31:22
Speaker 2: I don't know if there's a soft way to say this,
• 31:23
  Speaker 2: and I really frankly don't give a ship because he's
• 31:25
Speaker 2: already crossed like the rubicon in my eyes.
• 31:28
Speaker 1: You have to sit.
• 31:29
Speaker 2: Down with him and say, these are the things that
• 31:31
Speaker 2: are necessary. I really care about you, and your hygiene
• 31:35
Speaker 2: is an ick, Like you have to be brushing your
• 31:37
Speaker 2: teeth three times a day in the morning, when you
• 31:40
Speaker 2: get home from work and before you go to bed.
• 31:42
Speaker 1: Those are the new rules. Yeah, and there's no easement
• 31:45
  Speaker 1: into this.
• 31:45
Speaker 3: This is this is this is like a sledgehammer situation
• 31:48
Speaker 3: like this is not. This is not I can think
• 31:52
Speaker 3: of so many deeper things that you would think on
• 31:54
Speaker 3: paper that you could soft pedal around.
• 31:56
Speaker 2: And this is really quite amazing that someone could go
• 31:59
Speaker 2: through nine months without saying anything. I mean something might
• 32:02
Speaker 2: be wrong with you. Also for you to be tolerant
• 32:04
  Speaker 2: of this.
• 32:05
Speaker 4: Even go brush our teeth right now before you go
• 32:08
Speaker 4: to bed, Like, let's go brush our teeth together.
• 32:10
Speaker 2: And I've also been through this with guys, Like I've
• 32:12
Speaker 2: had guys in bed who want to wake up and
• 32:15
Speaker 2: fool around, and I'm like, no, no, you, I get
• 32:18
Speaker 2: up and I brush my teeth. If that's not a
• 32:20
Speaker 2: big enough queue for them, I tell them, do not
• 32:24
Speaker 2: come near me in.
• 32:25
Speaker 1: The morning until you have brushed your teeth.
• 32:27
Speaker 2: It's just the way it is. I don't have time
• 32:29
Speaker 2: for that. Like, you know, I'm a hot pie's of
• 32:31
Speaker 2: property in my mind.
• 32:32
Speaker 3: My my wife's the same way.
• 32:34
Speaker 2: She's very Yeah, and dental and flossing is very important too.
• 32:38
Speaker 2: It's also important for like long term oral hygiene, like
• 32:41
Speaker 2: medically speaking, so all of these things. Don't feel guilty
• 32:44
Speaker 2: about telling a man he's just he's like uneducated and
• 32:47
Speaker 2: he just needs to be told.
• 32:48
Speaker 3: What I mean, Like, if this is what you've discovered
• 32:51
Speaker 3: in nine months, you may be missing a lot.
• 32:54
Speaker 4: Yeah, Like what else is he not doing? I knew
• 32:56
Speaker 4: a guy wants not when I date it. That said,
• 32:58
Speaker 4: the only time my hands get washed is in the shower, Like,
• 33:02
Speaker 4: what else is he not doing that?
• 33:03
Speaker 5: You're just not picking up on.
• 33:06
Speaker 3: My on my way, on my way here. I took
• 33:09
Speaker 3: the subway and I had lines to help you brush
• 33:11
Speaker 3: your teeth. After that, I used hand sanitized everything. But
• 33:15
Speaker 3: I the second I went down the staircase, I put
• 33:19
Speaker 3: my hand on the railing and my wife just screamed railing.
• 33:25
Speaker 3: So I can't imagine getting away with this for nine months.
• 33:28
Speaker 1: No, this is no.
• 33:30
Speaker 2: No, I can't let imagine tolerating it for nine months. Women,
• 33:34
Speaker 2: you need to speak up early and QUI, okay, those
• 33:36
Speaker 2: are the rules early, quick, because I think men are
• 33:38
Speaker 2: pretty trainable, especially when they're into you.
• 33:41
Speaker 1: You know they they are.
• 33:42
Speaker 3: Yeah, and it's just even to make their life more peaceful.
• 33:45
Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, So you can do it in a nice,
• 33:47
Speaker 2: caring way and be gentle about it. Obviously you care
• 33:49
Speaker 2: about this person, but you need to address it immediately,
• 33:52
Speaker 2: and you need to make it a three pronged effort.
• 33:54
Speaker 1: The tongue scraper, the toothbrush, brushing your tooth.
• 33:57
Speaker 2: Actually, you know what, if he's not even brushing his teeth,
• 33:59
Speaker 2: ye start with the brushing those.
• 34:01
Speaker 3: Let's get up to like twice a day.
• 34:03
  Speaker 1: Twice a day.
• 34:05
Speaker 2: But if you give him three times a day, then
• 34:07
Speaker 2: maybe he can start with once or twice a day,
• 34:09
Speaker 2: do you know what I mean? Maybe make the expectations
• 34:11
Speaker 2: high so that he can meet you somewhere in the middle,
• 34:13
Speaker 2: and then also talk about make it so overwhelming that
• 34:16
Speaker 2: he has to cooperate in some way immediately.
• 34:19
Speaker 4: All right, Well, our next question comes from Simone and
• 34:21
Speaker 4: she's calling in my.
• 34:23
Speaker 1: Sister, Simone, it is it is.
• 34:24
Speaker 4: You guess correctly, so she says, I quit my stable
• 34:28
Speaker 4: teacher job to become a tarot reader, but my husband
• 34:30
Speaker 4: isn't on board. So Simone says, Dear Chelsea, I recently
• 34:34
Speaker 4: quit my job because I couldn't take the super toxic environment.
• 34:37
Speaker 4: And well, my passion's lie elsewhere. I'm a mama of
• 34:40
Speaker 4: two two years and six, and I'm a tarot reader
• 34:43
Speaker 4: and astrologer. For the past eight years, I've been trying
• 34:46
Speaker 4: to build a successful business, and sometimes I feel like
• 34:48
Speaker 4: my husband is holding me back. He's always been really
• 34:51
Speaker 4: supportive about my business, but he's the kind who likes
• 34:53
Speaker 4: to know how much money we're going to have each month.
• 34:55
Speaker 4: And even though he always says I totally support you,
• 34:58
Speaker 4: he is always encouraging me to get backup job. I
• 35:01
Speaker 4: know he means well, and I wouldn't want my kids
• 35:03
Speaker 4: to go without anything they need, But I feel like
• 35:05
Speaker 4: I haven't ever been able to become successful because he
• 35:07
Speaker 4: just doesn't really think I can make enough money from
• 35:09
Speaker 4: my business. Of course, it's not only his fault. I
• 35:12
Speaker 4: have my own insecurities that hold me back. What should
• 35:14
Speaker 4: I say or do to make it clear? I hate
• 35:16
Speaker 4: corporate jobs and don't want to go back to one,
• 35:18
Speaker 4: and that my Terot business is my main priority.
• 35:20
Speaker 2: Simone, Hi, Simone, Hi, Hey, Hi, this is our special guest,
• 35:25
Speaker 2: Kevin Kane is here with us today.
• 35:27
  Speaker 3: Hi.
• 35:27
  Speaker 7: Hi, Kevin.
• 35:28
Speaker 2: Okay, so well, first of all, you said something in
• 35:30
Speaker 2: that like the seconds the last sentence, which was what's
• 35:32
Speaker 2: holding you back is your husband's disbelief in you or not,
• 35:35
Speaker 2: you know, not believing in you. That's a cracker shit like,
• 35:38
Speaker 2: that's not what's holding you back. And you can't let
• 35:40
Speaker 2: your husband's non belief in what you're doing hold you back.
• 35:44
  Speaker 1: That's ridiculous.
• 35:45
Speaker 2: If this is important to you, do you make any
• 35:47
Speaker 2: money from doing this?
• 35:49
  Speaker 1: Yeah?
• 35:49
Speaker 6: I make a couple hundred each month.
• 35:52
Speaker 1: Okay, that doesn't sound like enough, is it? No, it's
• 35:57
Speaker 1: not enough. Okay. How much would you need to make
• 35:59
Speaker 1: a month for this be successful? Probably a couple thousand, okay?
• 36:03
Speaker 2: And do you think that you can build your business
• 36:05
Speaker 2: up to making a couple of times? Because listen, I'm
• 36:07
Speaker 2: into all that kind of shit. Are you into tarot
• 36:09
Speaker 2: parts or something like that? Most straight men are not
• 36:11
Speaker 2: into that, you know. Okay, So I understand why you're.
• 36:16
  Speaker 1: She reads them?
• 36:18
Speaker 3: Yeah, oh she does.
• 36:19
Speaker 2: She's a tarot card reader like this girl. Okay, great,
• 36:21
Speaker 2: great work, Catherine, great work. And does your wife do
• 36:24
Speaker 2: it professionally or just no.
• 36:25
Speaker 3: She's an actress, but that she does it for friends
• 36:28
Speaker 3: and family, and that's cool.
• 36:29
Speaker 2: So I don't know how you like what building a
• 36:33
Speaker 2: business like that looks like. Do you feel like I
• 36:37
Speaker 2: feel like, first of all, you're lacking belief in yourself,
• 36:40
Speaker 2: Like if you're going to do this and go full throttle,
• 36:42
Speaker 2: I think you need to give yourself like a time
• 36:44
Speaker 2: frame in order to meet your financial goals and say like, Okay,
• 36:48
Speaker 2: I'm going to give myself six months and if I'm
• 36:51
Speaker 2: not making two or three thousand, like you tell your
• 36:53
Speaker 2: husband to shut up about his feedback, you're not interested
• 36:56
Speaker 2: You're going to take six months if you can afford
• 36:58
Speaker 2: to do that, and see if you can make a
• 37:00
Speaker 2: business out of this where you do make a couple
• 37:02
Speaker 2: of thousand dollars a month and where you're making a
• 37:04
  Speaker 2: real contribution.
• 37:06
Speaker 1: Doesn't that kind of sound reasonable?
• 37:07
Speaker 3: Yeah? I you know, we were talking about William Esper
• 37:11
Speaker 3: and he used to do an exercise with us, okay,
• 37:13
Speaker 3: and it would make you visualize doing something else other
• 37:17
Speaker 3: than acting for a living. And he would ask, like
• 37:21
Speaker 3: to be very specific, how much can you make and
• 37:23
Speaker 3: what would you buy with that money? And where would
• 37:24
Speaker 3: you live and what would you do and all that stuff,
• 37:26
Speaker 3: And anyone who had a very clear answer he would
• 37:30
Speaker 3: invite to the door and says, this business is going
• 37:33
Speaker 3: to make you quit. You're going to quit anyway. So
• 37:36
Speaker 3: if you already see yourself not doing this, that's what
• 37:40
Speaker 3: life's going to bring to you. So I would just
• 37:41
Speaker 3: say to yourself, like, like, do you want it? That about?
• 37:44
Speaker 3: Is that? Is this the most? Is this your passion?
• 37:47
Speaker 3: This is If it's something you can't quit, then it's
• 37:50
Speaker 3: then it's really not something. Then we're not even talking
• 37:53
Speaker 3: about that. So it's just really just about focusing on
• 37:56
Speaker 3: I'll do anything to make this happen. You know, So
• 37:59
Speaker 3: it seems like you're making what a couple hundred bucks
• 38:01
Speaker 3: a month, You're not doing taro all the time right now?
• 38:04
Speaker 6: Right Well, I am putting in full time hours into
• 38:09
Speaker 6: my business. The issue comes in that, like I have
• 38:13
Speaker 6: a hard time asking people for money.
• 38:15
Speaker 1: Yeah, but I have so many people.
• 38:18
Speaker 6: Like clients, and I do a ton of ratings for free,
• 38:21
Speaker 6: and well, I think that's where my issue is.
• 38:23
  Speaker 5: And I think I.
• 38:24
Speaker 1: Think that's where your issue is too. You can't do
• 38:27
Speaker 1: it free. If you want to make a living, you.
• 38:30
Speaker 5: Need to pick up the book.
• 38:31
Speaker 4: You are a bad asset making money, and it's gonna
• 38:33
Speaker 4: outline for you how you have those conversations with people,
• 38:36
Speaker 4: especially people you've not been charging that you need to
• 38:38
Speaker 4: start charging, because when you're doing something like taro or
• 38:42
Speaker 4: let's say massage or reiki or something like that, there
• 38:45
Speaker 4: is an exchange of energy there and in order to
• 38:48
  Speaker 4: be giving out.
• 38:49
Speaker 5: You need to be getting something back.
• 38:51
Speaker 4: And if you want to make this your business, then
• 38:53
Speaker 4: you have to treat it like a business. That's a
• 38:55
Speaker 4: good way to get your husband to take it seriously
• 38:57
  Speaker 4: as well.
• 38:58
Speaker 1: Yeah, well, said Catherine, I can.
• 38:59
Speaker 3: Give you, if you're if you know that this is
• 39:02
Speaker 3: this is you, this is who you are. It's almost
• 39:05
Speaker 3: like that exercise I was talking about. He was just
• 39:07
Speaker 3: really trying to identify the psychos and that will never
• 39:11
Speaker 3: do anything else. You know, then that's not really a question.
• 39:14
Speaker 3: So you can kind of give yourself a break, yeah,
• 39:18
Speaker 3: and let yourself figure it out. And if you don't
• 39:21
Speaker 3: have it figured out today, it doesn't mean you're never
• 39:22
Speaker 3: going to figure it out.
• 39:23
Speaker 4: Get on TikTok because I see people coming through my
• 39:26
Speaker 4: feed all the time that are doing taro, that are
• 39:29
Speaker 4: doing like all kinds of different stuff like that, they're
• 39:31
Speaker 4: doing lives, They're getting new clients from that. So like,
• 39:33
Speaker 4: I think that's like a good place to be spending
• 39:35
Speaker 4: some time and be consistent, like every single day post
• 39:38
Speaker 4: a little bit of something.
• 39:39
Speaker 2: There's a couple of issues you seem like what you
• 39:42
Speaker 2: said is you're having trouble charging people. Hey, you have
• 39:44
Speaker 2: to send out like a like a wide email to
• 39:47
Speaker 2: all of the people that you've serviced and say, hey,
• 39:50
Speaker 2: I just wanted to let everyone know I'm starting this.
• 39:53
Speaker 1: I'm starting to do taro as a business. I've quit
• 39:55
  Speaker 1: my job.
• 39:56
Speaker 2: You know, whoever knows already. It doesn't matter. You're just
• 39:58
Speaker 2: making an official B business email. Consider this your first
• 40:02
Speaker 2: order of operations. Okay, you're sending out a mass email
• 40:05
Speaker 2: saying I've enjoyed my time with all of you so much.
• 40:08
Speaker 1: You know you can blind.
• 40:09
Speaker 2: Copy everybody, so not everybody's on the email obviously, and say,
• 40:13
Speaker 2: but due to popular demand, this is really taking off
• 40:16
Speaker 2: and I have to start charging.
• 40:17
Speaker 1: So I'm going to give all of my existing clients a.
• 40:21
Speaker 2: Special rate that they all have access to so they
• 40:24
Speaker 2: feel like, Okay, I might have to start paying, but
• 40:27
Speaker 2: at least I'm getting a discounted rate from your new
• 40:29
Speaker 2: clients and your new clientele, and just put that all
• 40:33
Speaker 2: in writing. And the people who don't want to come
• 40:35
Speaker 2: back because they have to pay, great, that's fine.
• 40:38
Speaker 1: You don't have time for that shit anyway. But you
• 40:40
Speaker 1: have to get like some balls for this.
• 40:42
Speaker 2: If you want to be a business woman, you need
• 40:44
Speaker 2: to act like a businesswoman. You need to buy the
• 40:46
Speaker 2: book that Catherine mentioned. And once your husband sees that
• 40:49
Speaker 2: this is operating like a business, guess what, he's going
• 40:51
Speaker 2: to be fucking supportive when you're earning money.
• 40:53
Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, you're so right.
• 40:56
Speaker 1: Are you ready? To do this. I'm going to do it.
• 40:59
Speaker 2: Yes, formulate that email and send us a copy. I
• 41:01
Speaker 2: want to make sure I get a copy of that.
• 41:03
  Speaker 1: Okay, okay, and.
• 41:04
Speaker 3: Send me your race. Get I'll send out some referrals.
• 41:07
Speaker 1: Thank you, perfect, perfect, Okay, thank you.
• 41:10
Speaker 5: Oh my gosh, you guys are so kind.
• 41:13
Speaker 1: Thank you. Okay, bye some mom, good luck with your
• 41:15
Speaker 1: business and act like a business woman.
• 41:18
  Speaker 7: Thank you.
• 41:18
Speaker 4: Okay, so Claire says Dear Chelsea. My husband and I
• 41:22
Speaker 4: are child free by choice and have been together for
• 41:24
Speaker 4: over ten years. We have several nieces and nephews on
• 41:27
Speaker 4: both sides. One of these nephews from my sister in law,
• 41:30
Speaker 4: is turning eighteen next month. He is proclaimed to not
• 41:33
Speaker 4: want to do anything special to celebrate, but his helicopter
• 41:36
Speaker 4: mom has planned something regardless. My husband and I are,
• 41:39
Speaker 4: of course, being roped into these plans. The first part
• 41:41
Speaker 4: consists of an escape room shoot me on a weekend
• 41:45
Speaker 4: and will cost one hundred dollars each for my husband
• 41:47
Speaker 4: and I to join. The second part consists of a
• 41:50
Speaker 4: birthday dinner out to a restaurant that I don't particularly
• 41:52
Speaker 4: care for. The problem is it's on a completely separate
• 41:55
Speaker 4: day than the escape room and during the week. My
• 41:58
Speaker 4: sister in law insists on doing this dinner out on
• 42:00
Speaker 4: a fucking Monday because that's the day of his actual birthday.
• 42:03
Speaker 4: So now I'm paying two hundred dollars plus and we
• 42:05
Speaker 4: haven't even factored in his gift yet to celebrate a
• 42:08
Speaker 4: teenager who could give two shits about all the celebrating
• 42:10
Speaker 4: on his behalf. My husband thinks him crazy and that
• 42:13
Speaker 4: I hate his family, but I think this is ridiculous.
• 42:15
Speaker 4: The last thing I want to do after working all
• 42:17
Speaker 4: day is fight traffic to a shitty restaurant when my
• 42:20
Speaker 4: own food and my three fur babies are at home
• 42:22
Speaker 4: waiting for me. Furthermore, I love my niece and nephews,
• 42:25
Speaker 4: but don't want to spend that much money on a
• 42:26
Speaker 4: child that isn't mine for a fucking birthday.
• 42:28
Speaker 5: One of my dogs, sure, but a.
• 42:30
Speaker 4: Kid, no thanks. Why are all these kids so fucking
• 42:32
Speaker 4: spoiled nowadays? Am I being selfish and a horrible aunt
• 42:36
Speaker 4: who should shut up and just go along with it?
• 42:38
Speaker 4: Or should I tell my husband I'm skipping the dinner
• 42:40
Speaker 4: and to hell with it?
• 42:41
  Speaker 1: Claire?
• 42:42
Speaker 7: Hi, Hi, Claire, Hi, nice to meet you. Thanks for
• 42:45
  Speaker 7: having me.
• 42:46
  Speaker 2: I don't think you're being selfish. I think you need
• 42:48
Speaker 2: to create some boundaries. It sounds fucking stupid. You should
• 42:51
Speaker 2: pick one thing just to be like a good sport.
• 42:53
Speaker 1: You should. I had this conversation with one of my
• 42:55
  Speaker 1: friends yesterday.
• 42:56
Speaker 2: He's like, I just told my partner I'm not coming
• 42:58
Speaker 2: to any more family events because his partner's mom treated
• 43:01
Speaker 2: him like garbage, and his whole family treated him like garbage.
• 43:03
Speaker 2: So he had more of an excuse. But he did
• 43:05
Speaker 2: create a boundary and it's not an issue anymore. It's
• 43:07
Speaker 2: become a non issue. But when you are in a partnership,
• 43:09
Speaker 2: you're married, it's a little bit different. These two would
• 43:12
Speaker 2: just live together, they're not married. I would say that
• 43:14
Speaker 2: you should probably go to one of the events, whichever
• 43:16
Speaker 2: one you hate the least. For me, an escape room
• 43:20
Speaker 2: sounds like an absolute fucking nightmare. So I would choose
• 43:23
Speaker 2: the dinner, even though it's on a Monday, because that
• 43:26
Speaker 2: is his birthday. So then you were there for his
• 43:27
Speaker 2: birthday celebration. That's kind of all you and you can
• 43:31
Speaker 2: be very honest. I'm not going to an escape room
• 43:34
Speaker 2: because I'm an adult. I'm not interested in this at all,
• 43:39
Speaker 2: and I'm only available to celebrate his birthday on his birthday,
• 43:43
Speaker 2: so I'll be at the dinner happily.
• 43:45
Speaker 1: That's it. That's it. That's all you have to say.
• 43:47
Speaker 1: And you tell that to your husband, I'm not doing that.
• 43:50
  Speaker 1: I'm sorry.
• 43:50
Speaker 2: You can go, but there's no requirement that I have
• 43:53
Speaker 2: to go to an escape room for my eighteen year
• 43:55
Speaker 2: old nephew's birthday, who's not even interested in having a birthday.
• 43:58
Speaker 2: Leave the money out of it. Don't even mention, right,
• 44:01
Speaker 2: just make it about your priorities.
• 44:03
  Speaker 1: Okay.
• 44:03
  Speaker 5: It's also I just think it's like.
• 44:05
Speaker 4: Weird to have the escape room be a family thing.
• 44:07
Speaker 4: That's like the thing you send him and his friends
• 44:09
Speaker 4: to do. Yeah, you know, like that's a teenager thing totally.
• 44:12
Speaker 8: And for a further context, we've gone and done this
• 44:14
Speaker 8: before together too. This isn't our first family escape room before,
• 44:19
Speaker 8: so I was kind of surprised to hear that on
• 44:21
  Speaker 8: the docket.
• 44:22
Speaker 1: And how did that go? How did the other ones go?
• 44:25
Speaker 8: Oh, this was like several years ago, and it was fine, Like,
• 44:28
Speaker 8: you know, I think that was the first time I'd
• 44:29
Speaker 8: ever done it, So I was like, sure, I'm down
• 44:31
Speaker 8: for it, why not? And it was fine. It wasn't
• 44:33
Speaker 8: anything that I want to repeat, but like for the
• 44:37
Speaker 8: one time, like that was totally fine.
• 44:39
Speaker 3: Is he going to college?
• 44:40
Speaker 5: He wants to go.
• 44:41
Speaker 7: Into some kind of trade probably yeah, so.
• 44:43
Speaker 3: Yeah, yes, well I think just tell yourself just in
• 44:47
Speaker 3: your mind, this is a farewell dinner because he's going
• 44:49
Speaker 3: to be done with all you people after this. He's
• 44:51
Speaker 3: not he's not coming home.
• 44:52
Speaker 7: Sure, yeah, that's but right.
• 44:55
Speaker 4: One thing you could also do is like, if you
• 44:57
Speaker 4: really aren't down to go to either one of these,
• 45:00
Speaker 4: you could be like, you know what, we want to
• 45:01
Speaker 4: do our own thing to celebrate him, and like take
• 45:03
Speaker 4: him out to dinner somewhere where you actually like, or
• 45:05
Speaker 4: go do something fin and like that's his gift, Like
• 45:08
Speaker 4: it's an activity that you guys would like to do together.
• 45:11
Speaker 5: That could be an alternate plan.
• 45:12
Speaker 7: Or something even that he is interested sounds annoying.
• 45:18
Speaker 2: But also the other thing is listen, the fact that
• 45:22
Speaker 2: you had already experienced in this escape room is perfect.
• 45:25
  Speaker 1: You've done that.
• 45:26
Speaker 2: You don't like it, you don't want to be in
• 45:27
Speaker 2: that situation. You don't have to go, like the dinner
• 45:30
Speaker 2: is fine, just do that, and this is.
• 45:32
Speaker 1: Your farewell thing. This is his eighteenth birthday.
• 45:34
Speaker 2: Be a good team player, but that's the extent of it,
• 45:37
Speaker 2: and be very firm about that with your husband and
• 45:40
Speaker 2: with your sister in.
• 45:41
Speaker 8: Law for sure, because yeah, both is not going to happen.
• 45:45
Speaker 8: Got it, got it?
• 45:46
  Speaker 1: Yes? Thank you.
• 45:47
Speaker 3: How many eighteen year olds are going to escape rooms?
• 45:50
  Speaker 3: I don't know.
• 45:50
Speaker 2: I feel like escape rooms are making a comeback because
• 45:52
Speaker 2: I've heard that a couple times now, Like.
• 45:54
Speaker 1: It's a very seventeen eighteen year old. How old is
• 45:57
Speaker 1: your kid? Eight eight?
• 45:58
Speaker 2: Okay, so yours is a little young for that, I think.
• 46:00
Speaker 2: But like adults, weird adults. I don't like when adults like.
• 46:03
Speaker 1: Shit like this, you know what I mean. I don't
• 46:06
Speaker 1: like that kind of stuff. There's also like, like.
• 46:08
Speaker 2: Paintballing is the thing that comes before an escape room
• 46:10
Speaker 2: that age bracket is paintballing, Like fourteen to sixteen or
• 46:15
Speaker 2: thirteen to sixteen is paintballing. Sometimes even younger I also
• 46:19
Speaker 2: in a very annoying activity.
• 46:21
  Speaker 1: I'm not interested.
• 46:22
Speaker 2: And then there's the adult version of all of these things,
• 46:24
Speaker 2: which is pickleball is and Majong Now is Majong is
• 46:29
  Speaker 2: the new hole?
• 46:29
  Speaker 3: Really?
• 46:30
Speaker 2: Yeah, Majong is the new pickaball. Okay, everyone's talking about Majong.
• 46:34
Speaker 2: I've had like three women in my life that are
• 46:37
Speaker 2: in their thirties asked me to come to play Majong,
• 46:40
Speaker 2: and I've had to block them, all three of them
• 46:42
Speaker 2: from contacting me again. I mean, the idea that people
• 46:45
Speaker 2: don't know how I feel about those things when I'm
• 46:48
Speaker 2: so out there about my opinions and feelings, makes me
• 46:52
Speaker 2: feel like you're not listening.
• 46:53
Speaker 3: No, or they're just trying to insult you.
• 46:56
Speaker 1: Rile me up, possibly or insult me.
• 47:04
Speaker 4: Our last email here comes from Jane and she says
• 47:07
Speaker 4: you're Chelsea. In September, my friend's at a birthday party
• 47:10
Speaker 4: and I met my now current boyfriend. It had been
• 47:13
Speaker 4: two years since I'd had any romantic interest in anyone,
• 47:16
Speaker 4: and I left the party feeling surprised.
• 47:17
Speaker 1: That I had a crush. Oh, it's always surprising.
• 47:20
Speaker 4: Yeah, my friend who hosted the party knew I was
• 47:23
Speaker 4: into him from the jump and confirmed he had also
• 47:26
  Speaker 4: asked about me.
• 47:27
Speaker 5: It felt like kismet. However, I was not going to chase.
• 47:29
Speaker 4: Any man, so I waited and he finally reached out
• 47:32
Speaker 4: via Instagram. We're dating now and he's everything I'm looking
• 47:34
Speaker 4: for when it comes to intelligence career. The way he
• 47:37
Speaker 4: respects women, asks for consent, even our first kiss. I'd
• 47:41
Speaker 4: like to kiss you if that's okay. It was so sweet, Chelsea.
• 47:44
Speaker 4: How do you feel about that?
• 47:46
Speaker 1: Yeah? I like, yeah, you do? Yeah? What you had
• 47:48
  Speaker 1: with that?
• 47:50
Speaker 4: I feel like you've said before, like, ick, don't ask me,
• 47:52
  Speaker 4: just do it?
• 47:53
Speaker 2: No, no, no, no, no no. I think it's important.
• 47:56
Speaker 2: I think, especially in the time we're living in tap.
• 48:00
Speaker 3: Out because I work on this view, I can't make
• 48:01
  Speaker 3: any conceptions.
• 48:04
Speaker 1: I think it's cute to say, can I kiss you? Oh?
• 48:07
Speaker 4: Okay, great, great, So she continues and says, So. I
• 48:11
Speaker 4: found out recently he had hit up my other good
• 48:13
Speaker 4: friend from the party before any contact with me. At
• 48:16
Speaker 4: the time, I shrugged it off and was excited to
• 48:18
Speaker 4: hear from him. When he did finally reach out. I
• 48:21
Speaker 4: assumed his messaging with this other friend was neutral and
• 48:24
  Speaker 4: he's just a kind guy.
• 48:25
Speaker 5: Well ask you me.
• 48:27
Speaker 4: On Valentine's Day, my dumb ass decided to bring it
• 48:30
Speaker 4: up for clarification. He said he was interested in her
• 48:32
Speaker 4: and had DMed her first, but she didn't respond. They're
• 48:35
Speaker 4: a good match on paper, the same age. I'm seven
• 48:38
Speaker 4: years older and they have similar interests. Now I can't
• 48:41
Speaker 4: stop thinking about him checking out both our social medias
• 48:44
Speaker 4: after meeting us and going for her first.
• 48:46
  Speaker 5: I've been divorced.
• 48:47
Speaker 4: I'm a cozy homebody but still love socializing, and I
• 48:50
Speaker 4: was totally fine being a celibate pet owner for the
• 48:53
Speaker 4: rest of my life.
• 48:54
Speaker 5: But it just feels icky.
• 48:55
Speaker 4: I know nobody did anything wrong, everyone was single and transparent,
• 48:59
Speaker 4: but I don't if I can handle knowing he tried
• 49:01
Speaker 4: for my younger, cooler friend first, even though it isn't
• 49:04
  Speaker 4: that sloppy?
• 49:05
  Speaker 1: Am I okay?
• 49:06
  Speaker 5: Being second?
• 49:07
Speaker 1: Jane? What do you think about that? Kevin?
• 49:10
Speaker 3: I would have to know, like, what's the connection? Like,
• 49:12
Speaker 3: now does it? How much does it matter?
• 49:15
Speaker 2: I also don't think missed opportunities are worth being like
• 49:18
Speaker 2: upset over or like the fact that he reached out
• 49:21
Speaker 2: to that girl. Nothing happened there, so it doesn't matter.
• 49:24
Speaker 2: Like what happened was that you guys connected and you're dating. Yeah,
• 49:26
Speaker 2: to focus on that, Like, I just don't think it's
• 49:29
Speaker 2: worthwhile to constantly or to be looking in the rear.
• 49:33
Speaker 1: View mirror about what ifs. Yeah, it didn't happen, so
• 49:36
  Speaker 1: he was interested.
• 49:37
Speaker 2: He's now with you if you want to reassure that
• 49:40
Speaker 2: you have a commitment with him or whatever, that he's
• 49:43
Speaker 2: he's not actively pursuing other people or this woman, or
• 49:46
Speaker 2: if she were interested in did DM in back?
• 49:49
Speaker 1: Would he be interested in seeing her? Like?
• 49:51
Speaker 2: If that's all in the past, then you're fine. Like,
• 49:54
Speaker 2: but I also just think it's really like a waste
• 49:56
Speaker 2: of all of our time to constantly be saying, well,
• 49:59
Speaker 2: you know he didn't like me more first, who gives
• 50:02
  Speaker 2: a shit?
• 50:02
Speaker 1: You're together now and you like each other. Yeah.
• 50:07
Speaker 2: And also women get women can become obsessed with this
• 50:11
Speaker 2: kind of stuff, and I feel like it's a very
• 50:14
Speaker 2: bad use of our time. Like if somebody's not with like,
• 50:17
Speaker 2: you can't control the outcome of things.
• 50:19
Speaker 1: And if somebody's not with you, uh, Like.
• 50:21
Speaker 2: I dated a guy who we met at this thing
• 50:24
Speaker 2: and he ended up hooking up with one of the
• 50:26
Speaker 2: girls where we met after he and I had met,
• 50:29
Speaker 2: but wasn't serious, and.
• 50:31
Speaker 1: Then we started seeing each other and became more serious.
• 50:33
Speaker 1: I didn't care. I was just like, yeah, whatever, Like you're.
• 50:36
Speaker 5: A little different about that stuff though, child.
• 50:38
Speaker 2: But I think that's the right attitude, because what are
• 50:41
Speaker 2: you going to do You're not going to control somebody anyway.
• 50:44
Speaker 2: So as long as you get a good temperature on
• 50:46
Speaker 2: whether this person is honest and like forthcoming, and you
• 50:49
Speaker 2: can say, okay, we're in something now, right, We're solid?
• 50:52
Speaker 1: Are you looking? Are you actively seeking other people? Like,
• 50:55
Speaker 1: just let me know, no judgment.
• 50:57
Speaker 2: I'll just make my own decision based on the truth
• 51:00
Speaker 2: of the situation. I mean, men sometimes have a hard
• 51:02
Speaker 2: time being truthful. But but they're also like, he already
• 51:05
Speaker 2: was truthful that he reached out to her when she
• 51:07
  Speaker 2: asked him.
• 51:08
Speaker 3: But I feel like men could just be just stood
• 51:10
Speaker 3: up dumb in the opening situation. This is right, so
• 51:13
Speaker 3: they maybe if some obvious flair went off in one direction,
• 51:18
Speaker 3: you know, the attension was there and was letting something
• 51:21
Speaker 3: else developed. I think guys don't definitely don't get it
• 51:25
Speaker 3: right off the bat. They have to process a lot longer.
• 51:27
Speaker 2: Yeah, I think that's a great point, Kevin. Actually, men
• 51:29
Speaker 2: are fucking stupid, you.
• 51:31
Speaker 1: Know what I mean. And you have to remember this
• 51:33
Speaker 1: all the time because no matter.
• 51:34
Speaker 2: How great someone is in the beginning, we all we
• 51:36
Speaker 2: always find and this goes for men and women. You
• 51:39
Speaker 2: do find out that everybody's kind of like a human being.
• 51:42
Speaker 2: And then and men in particular, straight men in particular
• 51:45
Speaker 2: don't really know their way around situations like this, and
• 51:48
Speaker 2: they kind of act impulsively sometimes, just the way women
• 51:51
Speaker 2: can do. But men, for some reason, it just seems
• 51:53
Speaker 2: a little bit less sensitive. It can come across as
• 51:56
Speaker 2: as like insensitive. Yes, yeah, yeah, And so you kind
• 51:59
Speaker 2: of have to give them a little bit of of latitude.
• 52:03
Speaker 2: Not too much latitude, don't get me wrong, like you
• 52:05
Speaker 2: have to call people out on their ship. But like
• 52:07
Speaker 2: he was honest about dming her and that he didn't
• 52:09
Speaker 2: hear back from her. That's the there you go. That's
• 52:11
Speaker 2: somebody telling you the truth. So that's what I would
• 52:14
  Speaker 2: say to that.
• 52:15
Speaker 5: All right, Well that's a luke up for today.
• 52:17
Speaker 2: Okay, Well, Kevin, this has been great. I'm very happy
• 52:20
  Speaker 2: to meet you.
• 52:20
Speaker 3: It seemed like a really.
• 52:21
Speaker 2: Fun, normal, normal, normal man. I appreciate you being on here.
• 52:27
