- 0:00Speaker 1: Hey, it's Cubby, and I'm happy because I live in
- 0:02Speaker 1: New Jersey. Yeah. Apparently that's true, right? You too, Christine.
- 0:06Speaker 2: Thrilled.
- 0:06Speaker 1: You too, Kristen.
- 0:08Speaker 3: Yes.
- 0:08Speaker 1: The happiest states. This is mind-boggling to me.
- 0:11Speaker 2: It's 106.7 Light FM, and I'm not trying to poo-poo
- 0:13Speaker 2: on New Jersey. I do love living in New Jersey.
- 0:15Speaker 2: I've lived in New Jersey for 30 years. It's a fine,
- 0:18Speaker 2: fine state. Just didn't think it'd be this high.
- 0:21Speaker 3: As the happiest state in the country.
- 0:23Speaker 1: Happiest state in the country.
- 0:24Speaker 3: Number two.
- 0:25Speaker 1: That's amazing. New Jersey.
- 0:26Speaker 3: New Jersey.
- 0:27Speaker 1: And what's number one?
- 0:29Speaker 3: Hawaii, which makes sense to me.
- 0:32Speaker 1: That does make sense. Are you sure you don't have
- 0:35Speaker 1: this list upside down? You know, I'm wondering. So you
- 0:37Speaker 1: go from Hawaii, yay, we're happy.
- 0:39Speaker 3: To New Jersey, just as happy.
- 0:42Speaker 1: That's amazing.
- 0:43Speaker 2: Now, I don't want to put you on the spot,
- 0:45Speaker 2: but does this article say why we're happy?
- 0:48Speaker 3: Yeah, WalletHub did this annual ranking of the happiest states
- 0:51Speaker 3: in the U.S. They base it on emotional and physical well-being.
- 0:56Speaker 3: work environment, community, the environment itself, whether people are in
- 1:02Speaker 3: happy relationships. And apparently we're doing okay in New Jersey.
- 1:06Speaker 1: Like we're checking off all those boxes. That's amazing. Now
- 1:09Speaker 1: let's talk about taxes in New Jersey. Yeah.
- 1:12Speaker 3: So again, how we're number two. So yeah, number one
- 1:16Speaker 3: is Hawaii, New Jersey. Then it's followed by Utah, Idaho, Maryland, Nebraska. Connecticut, Minnesota, California,
- 1:25Speaker 3: New Hampshire, and then coming in at number 11, which
- 1:28Speaker 3: really isn't too bad if you think about it, is
- 1:30Speaker 3: New York. Wow.
- 1:31Speaker 1: Wow.
- 1:32Speaker 3: But Jersey, peeps, we're up there at number two.
- 1:35Speaker 1: And you're happy, right? You live in North Jersey.
- 1:37Speaker 3: The love and joy I have for New Jersey. Born
- 1:41Speaker 3: and raised.
- 1:44Speaker 2: Does that have the whole list, by the way, or no?
- 1:46Speaker 2: If not, it's no big deal. I'm just curious who's last.
- 1:49Speaker 3: Oh, who was last?
- 1:52Speaker 1: That's okay.
- 1:52Speaker 3: I always feel bad having to say it, but maybe
- 1:55Speaker 3: you're not listening this morning.
- 1:56Speaker 1: Oh, you do have it?
- 1:57Speaker 3: I do have it.
- 1:57Speaker 1: Please tell me, I beg.
- 1:58Speaker 3: It's West Virginia.
- 2:01Speaker 1: Oh, poor West Virginia.
- 2:02Speaker 3: Louisiana came in number 49.
- 2:04Speaker 1: And you love New Orleans.
- 2:05Speaker 3: New Orleans.
- 2:06Speaker 1: I wonder if weather plays a factor there.
- 2:07Speaker 3: That's what I think, right?
- 2:09Speaker 1: But poor West Virginia.
- 2:11Speaker 3: Yeah, West Virginia came in last.
- 2:12Speaker 1: Where the state flower is a satellite dish.
- 2:19Speaker 2: That was an old joke because with satellite dishes, cable
- 2:22Speaker 2: wasn't around everywhere.
- 2:23Speaker 1: Yeah. So you could get it if you had a
- 2:25Speaker 1: satellite dish and everyone had a satellite dish in West Virginia.
- 2:27Speaker 1: That was the only way to get it. Because there
- 2:28Speaker 1: was no cable. But I think they now have cable
- 2:29Speaker 1: and internet there at West Virginia. Yeah.
- 2:32Speaker 3: Working telephones.
- 2:33Speaker 1: Right.
- 2:33Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:34Speaker 3: All of it. All right.
- 2:35Speaker 2: We got Sting concert tickets coming up. We'll do that
- 2:38Speaker 2: around 725 and we'll begin another trivia battle here on
- 2:42Speaker 2: Light FM.
