- 0:21Speaker 1: Yeah, you? You trying to put on weight?
- 0:26Speaker 2: No, no, no. I'm just trying to build some more
- 0:29Speaker 2: strength that's there.
- 0:30Speaker 1: Yeah, we just got to dirty bulk you and then
- 0:31Speaker 1: just Get all the creatine in you.
- 0:38Speaker 2: Actually, creatine has a lot of positive benefits for your memory,
- 0:42Speaker 2: but we're just getting older that it's not going to
- 0:46Speaker 2: have the same effect.
- 0:47Speaker 1: It's not hitting the same?
- 0:50Speaker 2: No, it's just old and lactic acid buildup.
- 0:54Speaker 1: I feel the vibes, man. What's going on, everybody? I'm
- 0:59Speaker 1: the one, the only, the W-O-O-K-I-E Joined here by the
- 1:04Speaker 1: normal cast of misfits. Normal case of misfits. You guys
- 1:09Speaker 1: get a whole filing cabinet now. We got the PhD
- 1:12Speaker 1: of Key Forge, Dr. M. Sheep.
- 1:15Speaker 2: Yep.
- 1:17Speaker 1: The Minnesota dude. He's just a big ball of charisma,
- 1:22Speaker 1: isn't he? If Sheep was a charisma stat on a
- 1:29Speaker 1: D & D character, what would it be? Like four?
- 1:34Speaker 2: That's a really high number for him, to be honest.
- 1:37Speaker 3: You think that's high?
- 1:46Speaker 1: No, I'm like a 7 or an 8. 7 or
- 1:48Speaker 1: an 8. I'll give you with a beer or two
- 1:49Speaker 1: in you, you might be a 7 or 8. But, alright,
- 1:55Speaker 1: let's move on to the Minnesota Deuce, Ewok Jr. Hello.
- 1:59Speaker 2: Hello, Key Forge community. Glad to be here.
- 2:02Speaker 1: It's a great time. The man of many names. He
- 2:06Speaker 1: is Drazkor of the Draz score, formerly known as the
- 2:12Speaker 1: Smoke Slash Choke Show. Almost did something cool and has
- 2:17Speaker 1: yet again been knighted with another nickname, the Draz Horse. Drazkor.
- 2:23Speaker 4: Where did that come from, by the way? All the
- 2:26Speaker 4: gifs from last time?
- 2:27Speaker 1: Yeah, because you just decided to nay in the middle
- 2:32Speaker 1: of something.
- 2:33Speaker 4: Oh, that's right.
- 2:35Speaker 1: And yeah, he's like, he's now the Drez horse, and
- 2:38Speaker 1: I'm like, this man just can't escape nicknames.
- 2:42Speaker 4: Oh, man.
- 2:46Speaker 1: But we got some stuff to go over. We do
- 2:49Speaker 1: have part two. We got interrupted from part one. Of Vietnam.
- 2:54Speaker 4: By exciting news. What's up with that?
- 2:59Speaker 1: Weird how the exciting news doesn't come from Ghost Galaxy.
- 3:03Speaker 1: It's not like in two weeks there's going to be
- 3:05Speaker 1: a vault tour or anything.
- 3:08Speaker 2: Well, you talk about that, but this weekend we have
- 3:12Speaker 2: the Taiwan Nationals, Canadian Nationals, and Dutch Nationals. That's all
- 3:15Speaker 2: happening this weekend, boys.
- 3:18Speaker 1: Oh. I didn't even know St. Louis happened because there's
- 3:21Speaker 1: not a write-up for it.
- 3:23Speaker 2: Oh my god, you guys.
- 3:26Speaker 5: I mean, it's a good joke, but.
- 3:29Speaker 1: It is a good joke.
- 3:32Speaker 2: I think it's exciting that.
- 3:34Speaker 1: Comedians get on stage and tell the same joke over
- 3:40Speaker 1: and over and over again for every crowd. It's called
- 3:42Speaker 1: a set, right? That's our joke, is that there's a set.
- 3:46Speaker 1: I mean, what are we doing? I mean, Tennessee is
- 3:49Speaker 1: coming up.
- 3:49Speaker 5: But our audience isn't changing, so they would.
- 3:52Speaker 1: Like a new set. You don't know that. We could
- 3:54Speaker 1: have a completely new audience every few weeks.
- 3:58Speaker 4: I mean, definitely on HMFS, they were talking like there
- 4:01Speaker 4: was new people listening to the cast.
- 4:03Speaker 1: There's definitely, listen, KFO has come out and it is definitely,
- 4:09Speaker 1: it is strapped a rocket to this thing called Key Forge.
- 4:13Speaker 1: Straight to the fucking moon, guys, right?
- 4:15Speaker 4: Did our numbers go up? Did it look?
- 4:18Speaker 1: I don't know. No, did I look? No, I didn't look.
- 4:22Speaker 1: I didn't look. I will look. I mean, we have
- 4:26Speaker 1: the same fucking numbers almost every single week. It's so consistent,
- 4:32Speaker 1: it's becoming strange at this point.
- 4:35Speaker 4: You still have the same number of bots?
- 4:38Speaker 1: Yeah, well, it's not that consistent. I mean, we fluctuate,
- 4:43Speaker 1: but it's still the same. you know, X amount to
- 4:48Speaker 1: X amount. And it's somewhere that there's, there's a number
- 4:51Speaker 1: somewhere in between 23 and 2,500. And if, you know,
- 4:57Speaker 1: if you throw a dart at it, you know, that'll
- 5:00Speaker 1: be the listens this week. I just released our KFO
- 5:03Speaker 1: episode just, just yesterday. So we'll see what we'll see.
- 5:07Speaker 1: I'll come back next week. We'll see what the numbers did. If,
- 5:11Speaker 1: if KFO really just like, Now we're cooking with gas, right?
- 5:16Speaker 1: It's like we were cooking with logs over an open fire.
- 5:21Speaker 1: Now it's propane.
- 5:23Speaker 2: Well, I mean, at the very least, the KFO Discord
- 5:27Speaker 2: has popped with some individuals who, frankly... We haven't seen
- 5:31Speaker 2: in a while. Correct. A number of well-known content creators.
- 5:34Speaker 2: Great to be able to see people excited for Keyforge again.
- 5:37Speaker 1: Some were better off lost forever. I don't know.
- 5:40Speaker 4: What?
- 5:44Speaker 2: Welcome back. That's how Wookiee is really talking there.
- 5:48Speaker 1: But welcome back, everybody.
- 5:50Speaker 2: Hey. I mean, on other notes, Bad Penny Press actually
- 5:56Speaker 2: announced that they're closing up shop because they've become too busy,
- 5:59Speaker 2: which is a bummer, but they've done a phenomenal job.
- 6:02Speaker 1: So wait a minute. Who was on Bad Penny Press?
- 6:03Speaker 1: Because the only one who was on Bad Penny Press
- 6:06Speaker 1: that I know that is moving on to other projects
- 6:08Speaker 1: is Dead Sync. Was G not really doing much? Does
- 6:13Speaker 1: his business card lie to me? He's not really a professional.
- 6:18Speaker 1: He just doesn't want to do that shit no more.
- 6:20Speaker 1: He just doesn't want to do that. He's moving on to... That.
- 6:22Speaker 4: Doesn't make any money. And if you're a professional, you've
- 6:25Speaker 4: got to make money.
- 6:26Speaker 1: You've got to make money, right. You've got to make
- 6:28Speaker 1: scotch money. He's transferring everything over to his stripper blog?
- 6:33Speaker 1: Is that what's going on?
- 6:35Speaker 2: So you're looking at.
- 6:36Speaker 5: You've got to go where the numbers are.
- 6:38Speaker 2: You're looking at Blinking Line, DeadSync, and Zock.
- 6:42Speaker 1: Which, hey, it's great to hear Zok's still alive. I
- 6:46Speaker 1: didn't even know he was still around either. That's what
- 6:51Speaker 1: most people say about you.
- 6:52Speaker 5: They never see you play.
- 6:54Speaker 1: No, just you never see me play. I'm around. I'm
- 6:59Speaker 1: like the shadow in the corner. I'm just waiting. I'm lurking.
- 7:05Speaker 1: And I'm on a weekly podcast where I talk every
- 7:07Speaker 1: single week.
- 7:09Speaker 5: Well, sure, but that's only the same 642 listeners who
- 7:13Speaker 5: are all bots.
- 7:15Speaker 1: Yeah, absolutely.
- 7:17Speaker 2: I will say that from 2023 to now, so it
- 7:24Speaker 2: looks like January 24th was their first post, and then,
- 7:28Speaker 2: so they had 174 issues. Like, we appreciate that support,
- 7:34Speaker 2: and again, having things being able to be linked, and
- 7:37Speaker 2: just a A physical presence there, I appreciate it. I
- 7:41Speaker 2: will be sad that they're missed.
- 7:42Speaker 1: I will say that. Gee, link me your new stripper e-letter.
- 7:50Speaker 1: Whatever it is. I don't know. Tell me where all
- 7:54Speaker 1: the good places are. I need to know. I'm inquiring.
- 7:59Speaker 5: I would say the bachelor party this weekend and there
- 8:03Speaker 5: will be no... No nudie clubs.
- 8:06Speaker 1: What are you even doing with your life?
- 8:09Speaker 4: Church-going folk.
- 8:11Speaker 5: So they won't do it in public.
- 8:15Speaker 1: They're the kind of folk that bring them into the house.
- 8:20Speaker 5: We don't ask questions.
- 8:22Speaker 1: She slips on something, bangs her head on a doornail,
- 8:24Speaker 1: and all of a sudden the stripper's dead. And you're like,
- 8:26Speaker 1: what do we do?
- 8:28Speaker 5: I mean, if we could have that kind of weekend,
- 8:29Speaker 5: that would be good.
- 8:30Speaker 1: Or it might be just a story. It might be
- 8:34Speaker 1: a story I just made up.
- 8:36Speaker 2: It is supposed to rain a lot up here.
- 8:38Speaker 5: It's just a very bad thing storyline.
- 8:40Speaker 1: Yeah, it is.
- 8:44Speaker 2: The other thing, boys. China Vault Tour happened.
- 8:48Speaker 1: How many people showed up?
- 8:50Speaker 2: Well, so we actually have numbers. Big shout out to
- 8:53Speaker 2: Sarah Tonin, who was over with us in Vietnam. Did
- 8:57Speaker 2: go ahead and give us some information. So 34 for Sealed.
- 8:59Speaker 2: 30 for Archon and 21 for Alliance. I mean, those.
- 9:06Speaker 5: Aren't anything astounding numbers-wise.
- 9:10Speaker 1: I still wonder because, you know, HFFS did the whole
- 9:15Speaker 1: thing with the Asthma Day rep, and he was just like, oh,
- 9:18Speaker 1: it's such a big thing over there, and they had
- 9:20Speaker 1: 30 people show up to their vault tour?
- 9:23Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm with you. Those numbers don't seem....
- 9:27Speaker 2: They don't seem super large, but again, this is Huang Chao.
- 9:29Speaker 1: Is this some Xi Ping propaganda? Who's the president of
- 9:33Speaker 1: China right now?
- 9:35Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 9:37Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 9:37Speaker 4: Close enough.
- 9:38Speaker 1: It's a guy named Yang.
- 9:39Speaker 4: Close enough pronunciation. Okay.
- 9:42Speaker 1: But it's just like, none of this makes sense. I
- 9:45Speaker 1: don't know. Maybe there's just not a lot. There could
- 9:47Speaker 1: be a lot of casuals over there, too. I don't know.
- 9:50Speaker 5: Well, maybe their online play is very strong, and traveling
- 9:53Speaker 5: is not Easy or affordable?
- 9:56Speaker 1: That could that could very well be.
- 9:58Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 10:00Speaker 4: Well, so you and I were talking with Sarah Tom
- 10:04Speaker 4: about this, uh, and asking about the, uh, TCO, like
- 10:12Speaker 4: the Chinese version of the TCO server.
- 10:15Speaker 2: Yes.
- 10:15Speaker 4: Um, And it did not sound like there was a
- 10:22Speaker 4: massive amount of players on it. A role-placed community? Yeah,
- 10:27Speaker 4: it didn't sound like they were rolling.
- 10:28Speaker 5: On the American one?
- 10:30Speaker 4: Yeah. Yeah.
- 10:33Speaker 1: Will they get their own version of KFO?
- 10:36Speaker 5: The English one, not the American. It's not an American thing.
- 10:39Speaker 4: No. It's true.
- 10:40Speaker 5: It's an English thing.
- 10:41Speaker 2: So basically, theirs was a ported-over version of.
- 10:44Speaker 1: Don't want to claim shit.
- 10:45Speaker 5: We ain't do it.
- 10:46Speaker 2: Yeah, their version was ported over and it did actually
- 10:50Speaker 2: make sense because of the lag time to be able
- 10:54Speaker 2: to use it. So again, if you have access and
- 10:58Speaker 2: can create something, I like that Asmodee China has gone
- 11:02Speaker 2: ahead and supported that with tournaments and cash play that's there.
- 11:05Speaker 2: I will argue that there was a little bit of
- 11:10Speaker 2: talk about PV having an impact on their own player
- 11:13Speaker 2: scene as well. So with the vault coming up thinking
- 11:17Speaker 2: that everything was going to again, continue to be PV
- 11:20Speaker 2: that hurt their numbers. Um, but these numbers did surprise
- 11:23Speaker 2: me that they were in the thirties, um, for what's
- 11:27Speaker 2: there 34, 30, and then 21 for Alliance. Uh, I
- 11:30Speaker 2: do have to give a shout out to, uh, number
- 11:33Speaker 2: seven in Alliance. That is sheep too. It just made
- 11:37Speaker 2: me laugh. So I love that. Sheep too.
- 11:39Speaker 3: Um, in the master vault account, No, that's Sheep 3.
- 11:50Speaker 2: So for Archon, PV took 1 through 8 minus one
- 11:55Speaker 2: of the top 4 slots was Amber Skies. And then
- 11:58Speaker 2: for Alliance, there was PV except for what they called
- 12:04Speaker 2: 6 was GR. So again, PV taking a lot. Side events,
- 12:11Speaker 2: Quick Forge had 8 players. Chaos Sealed Alliance had 17
- 12:15Speaker 2: and adaptive had 11. Um, so those were their three seals. Um,
- 12:21Speaker 2: so shout out to all the winners and runner ups.
- 12:23Speaker 2: They find that from our Connor Connor.
- 12:25Speaker 1: Which still got left here. We have Nashville. France is done, right?
- 12:31Speaker 2: Well, Nashville.
- 12:33Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 12:33Speaker 2: Italy is done in Italy.
- 12:36Speaker 1: No, it's not done.
- 12:37Speaker 5: No.
- 12:37Speaker 1: So France is done.
- 12:39Speaker 2: That's it.
- 12:40Speaker 1: Nashville and Italy, Nashville, Italy, and then KFC, right?
- 12:44Speaker 5: Actually, it's Italy, then Nashville, right?
- 12:46Speaker 1: Is Italy this weekend? Yes?
- 12:52Speaker 4: No, it's next week. It's the following weekend.
- 12:56Speaker 1: Oh, so it's... Oh, okay, never mind. Yep, two weeks.
- 13:00Speaker 1: Or three weeks, technically. We have... We've got Nashville. So,
- 13:06Speaker 1: we are all headed to Nashville. Drez Chris said he'll
- 13:10Speaker 1: take pictures with anybody interested, so... We're selling Draskor's pictures
- 13:15Speaker 1: for $ 3 a picture with Draskor.
- 13:19Speaker 5: And for $ 20, you can ride him like a horse now.
- 13:21Speaker 1: That's right.
- 13:24Speaker 2: Will he neigh for me?
- 13:26Speaker 1: He bucks. He's a bronco.
- 13:30Speaker 2: Bucking bronco, does this cost more or less for you
- 13:35Speaker 2: to buck?
- 13:36Speaker 5: Depends on the person.
- 13:37Speaker 4: Yeah, it depends. It depends.
- 13:38Speaker 1: You're cheap.
- 13:44Speaker 4: Oh, yeah.
- 13:45Speaker 2: I'm cheap. I'm cheap, guys. You heard that.
- 13:47Speaker 5: You're not. Nobody is allowed to ride Ewok.
- 13:54Speaker 4: Oh.
- 13:55Speaker 5: He's like the Mexican donkeys. He's breaking down.
- 13:59Speaker 1: He's brittle.
- 14:00Speaker 4: Wasn't he talking about the squats he was doing before
- 14:03Speaker 4: he started?
- 14:04Speaker 5: Because he's breaking. Don't break. We can't break our Ewok.
- 14:10Speaker 2: You just push harder. That's what you do, right?
- 14:13Speaker 1: But we do have Nashville coming up. All four of
- 14:16Speaker 1: us will be in attendance at the Nashville event. Don't forget,
- 14:20Speaker 1: there is a huge... I don't know if it's huge.
- 14:22Speaker 1: I guess I'm going to say huge, because this looks
- 14:24Speaker 1: like a decently sized place. Board game event going on
- 14:30Speaker 1: as well there for just an extra $ 10. You can
- 14:34Speaker 1: also enjoy that.
- 14:36Speaker 2: Yeah, that's Tennessee. That's literally Tennessee game day.
- 14:39Speaker 1: Right. I'm going to go ahead and splurge the extra
- 14:41Speaker 1: 10 buckaroos and go poke around. I'm 50-50.
- 14:45Speaker 5: I'm just playing board game Saturday.
- 14:48Speaker 1: You know, here's the thing. I might be with you because, like,
- 14:52Speaker 1: I'm all about let's play sealed. Let's see how that
- 14:55Speaker 1: pans out. And then Saturday, we can just go poke
- 14:58Speaker 1: around board games.
- 15:00Speaker 2: Guys, did you look at all that's available for Tennessee
- 15:03Speaker 2: game days?
- 15:04Speaker 1: There is a lot.
- 15:06Speaker 2: Like it is a major tournament. It's similar to hoopla
- 15:09Speaker 2: with what we have. There's a flea market. There's gaming destinations.
- 15:14Speaker 2: There's a math trade. There's pop-up stores. There's tournaments, multiple
- 15:18Speaker 2: tournaments that are there. You have events, you have the
- 15:21Speaker 2: buy and sell. Yeah, no, this is, this is a
- 15:23Speaker 2: legit convention experience. So like, yeah, it reminded me a
- 15:28Speaker 2: lot of hoopla and the charity is actually for children's
- 15:33Speaker 2: hospital in the fall. I really like the meeple, frankly,
- 15:38Speaker 2: for the fall. So I'm a little bummed on that one.
- 15:40Speaker 1: The doctor?
- 15:43Speaker 2: No, sorry, for the spring.
- 15:45Speaker 1: My apologies. Oh, for the spring.
- 15:46Speaker 2: Yeah, as a farmer. But like, I just I love
- 15:49Speaker 2: the meeples that are set up. And I'm excited to
- 15:52Speaker 2: be able for a couple bucks to be able to
- 15:54Speaker 2: bounce over, whether that's for merch, taking peek at games.
- 15:57Speaker 2: I did look at buying more games because that's what
- 15:59Speaker 2: I need to put in my luggage to fly back.
- 16:02Speaker 1: But If... Don't forget.
- 16:06Speaker 1: Don't forget I'm driving, so... You need room.
- 16:10Speaker 2: You did not need to say that. That was bad
- 16:13Speaker 2: for you, but... Is it bad for me or bad
- 16:15Speaker 2: for your pocketbook?
- 16:16Speaker 5: It's got five people. You ain't gonna have no space
- 16:18Speaker 5: in that car.
- 16:18Speaker 4: No.
- 16:19Speaker 2: What do you mean?
- 16:20Speaker 1: I'm only bringing four.
- 16:20Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 16:22Speaker 5: Well.
- 16:23Speaker 2: With.
- 16:24Speaker 1: I'm only bringing four and I'm coming.
- 16:26Speaker 5: And you're only taking three home.
- 16:28Speaker 1: And I'm coming from New York. Don't say that on
- 16:33Speaker 1: a recording. Goddamn sheep.
- 16:35Speaker 2: With board game conventions, oftentimes people will go ahead and
- 16:40Speaker 2: sell their board games at a pretty nice discount. I
- 16:43Speaker 2: put up my own games for a loss, but if
- 16:45Speaker 2: it goes to someone else, then it's enjoyable. So take
- 16:47Speaker 2: a peek. There was already a game that I had
- 16:49Speaker 2: spotted that I'm like, yeah, I'd totally pick that up.
- 16:51Speaker 2: And big $ 5 spend there. So it's exciting.
- 16:56Speaker 1: Daddy Warbucks over here. Five buckaroos.
- 16:59Speaker 2: Well, but like, But what I'm trying to say is
- 17:02Speaker 2: the cost is significantly less because you need to make
- 17:04Speaker 2: more space for more board games. So they have a
- 17:06Speaker 2: math trade. They have a play to win section. So, yes,
- 17:11Speaker 2: if all else fails, all of us enjoy board games.
- 17:13Speaker 2: It is an option. But we also have a great
- 17:16Speaker 2: Key Forge event that is happening. And so I'm excited.
- 17:19Speaker 2: I would like to know what the side.
- 17:22Speaker 1: There's also an indoor pool and coffee shop. One of
- 17:27Speaker 1: those things just excited sheep. We'll let you decide.
- 17:30Speaker 5: Is it a swim-up coffee shop?
- 17:32Speaker 1: It doesn't say as such. It just says, plenty of
- 17:35Speaker 1: room for gaming, indoor pool, coffee shop. There is, however,
- 17:39Speaker 1: an on-site restaurant and bar.
- 17:42Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 17:43Speaker 1: So that will make lunch easier.
- 17:45Speaker 2: Actually, in regards to that, because I was actually looking
- 17:50Speaker 2: at Tennessee Game Days. Tennessee Game Days had... Some information,
- 17:55Speaker 2: so it's under their tab for weekend information, and one
- 17:58Speaker 2: of the sections is called Eats. And so you can
- 18:01Speaker 2: actually see what's close by for local food. I would
- 18:06Speaker 2: highly recommend that anyone who is going, because it is worthwhile.
- 18:09Speaker 2: And there are some spots that I'm like, ooh, that
- 18:11Speaker 2: sounds delicious.
- 18:11Speaker 1: Also, they say around their website, it says, we offer affordable, delicious,
- 18:14Speaker 1: hot lunch on-site through the weekend. Limited number of tickets
- 18:19Speaker 1: are on sale at registration. We post the day's menu
- 18:21Speaker 1: in Discord as soon as we know it. The cool
- 18:24Speaker 1: spring area also has dozens of restaurant options within a
- 18:27Speaker 1: mile of the hotel. Check your badge QR code.
- 18:32Speaker 4: Awesome.
- 18:33Speaker 1: So check your badge QR code. Oh man, you can
- 18:36Speaker 1: buy these meeples.
- 18:38Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 18:39Speaker 1: Wow. I didn't know they were for sale.
- 18:41Speaker 2: Yeah, no, it's a really neat experience. I just, I
- 18:44Speaker 2: post it because there's a lot of information. And as
- 18:46Speaker 2: a result of Tennessee games, like, the actual tournament and
- 18:53Speaker 2: the events, there is a lot of information available for
- 18:57Speaker 2: Tennessee game days, uh, that will help give us more
- 19:00Speaker 2: information about what's happening. And it is Nashville. I mean,
- 19:02Speaker 2: we're still close. So Nashville has a lot of experiences
- 19:06Speaker 2: by itself too.
- 19:07Speaker 4: I'm joining there.
- 19:08Speaker 6: What?
- 19:10Speaker 1: I don't know how much longer. Why do we got
- 19:12Speaker 1: to sing happy birthday to the boy? All right, can
- 19:17Speaker 1: you guys do without me? So just one quick.
- 19:19Speaker 4: Announcement while we're here. We're going to sing happy birthday.
- 19:22Speaker 1: All right. I think I'm the youngest of the four
- 19:24Speaker 1: of us, if I'm not mistaken.
- 19:26Speaker 5: That's right.
- 19:29Speaker 1: I think that's right, but I am the first one
- 19:31Speaker 1: to have an adult. Today is Jamie's 18th birthday.
- 19:37Speaker 4: Happy birthday, Jamie.
- 19:38Speaker 5: Wow.
- 19:40Speaker 1: He is turning 18, so I am going to take
- 19:42Speaker 1: a quick time out. Let you guys continue talking because
- 19:47Speaker 1: we're going to go sing Happy Birthday, okay? Sounds good.
- 19:51Speaker 4: All righty.
- 19:52Speaker 2: People like this are a menace to decent society. Are
- 19:55Speaker 2: you ready for something new and hot?
- 19:58Speaker 1: You're in the corner.
- 20:01Speaker 3: Here we go.
- 20:03Speaker 2: I borrowed a deck from Mr. Perfect, our good local,
- 20:06Speaker 2: and I was very, very happy with that. I did
- 20:10Speaker 2: find it interesting that one of the locals in Vietnam.
- 20:15Speaker 3: Oops.
- 20:16Speaker 5: Back.
- 20:21Speaker 4: How was the birthday? Was everything everything you dreamed? Good.
- 20:26Speaker 4: How's the cake? What kind of cake? I don't know. Super.
- 20:38Speaker 2: Are we not recording again?
- 20:40Speaker 1: I am just really fucking this whole thing up. Birthday
- 20:42Speaker 1: cake was great. No, I just had two things. We're
- 20:45Speaker 1: recording right now. Birthday cake was great. Jamie's now 18.
- 20:49Speaker 4: Yay.
- 20:51Speaker 1: I'm packing a bag for him as we speak.
- 20:55Speaker 4: No.
- 20:56Speaker 1: You're right. I'm not. No, sheep. Stop it. Stop it.
- 21:01Speaker 1: Stop it. Stop it.
- 21:02Speaker 2: You also missed.
- 21:04Speaker 1: That there is.
- 21:04Speaker 2: Yeah. This now.
- 21:10Speaker 1: What did I miss?
- 21:11Speaker 2: Tell me about it. You missed that we asked for
- 21:13Speaker 2: side events for Nashville, which still aren't there in place.
- 21:16Speaker 1: Oh, do we have any side events for Nashville? Tobin,
- 21:18Speaker 1: what are the side events for Nashville? Do we have any?
- 21:20Speaker 2: No, we don't have any. And then I did a
- 21:23Speaker 2: quick recap, and they didn't like that in 30 seconds.
- 21:26Speaker 2: So we are now into Archon. Sheep says he doesn't
- 21:30Speaker 2: like Archon at all.
- 21:31Speaker 5: You asked if I was excited, and I said no.
- 21:35Speaker 2: You're not excited about anything, okay?
- 21:37Speaker 5: Well, there you go.
- 21:41Speaker 2: Draz went ahead and borrowed a deck, and I also
- 21:43Speaker 2: borrowed a deck.
- 21:44Speaker 1: To be fair, I'm not excited. I don't have anything
- 21:46Speaker 1: for Archon. What am I excited to be about for Archon?
- 21:52Speaker 3: You'll win again, and you can feel more and more
- 21:56Speaker 3: justified in your hating of PV.
- 21:59Speaker 2: What if I say that PV doesn't win?
- 22:03Speaker 1: PV is going to win.
- 22:05Speaker 5: PV doesn't win our hearts.
- 22:07Speaker 2: Well, What if PV doesn't win Nashville?
- 22:12Speaker 1: Well, then the.
- 22:13Speaker 5: Lights over and PV's average set.
- 22:17Speaker 2: No, I think there are individual decks that can go
- 22:20Speaker 2: ahead and beat it. I just think that PV consistently
- 22:23Speaker 2: will beat out and win. But there are individual decks
- 22:29Speaker 2: that can win against PV at a high rate. Anyway.
- 22:33Speaker 2: Hold on.
- 22:33Speaker 4: No, no, no. Name them. Name what?
- 22:41Speaker 2: Let's name them after we go ahead and see what's here.
- 22:46Speaker 2: I don't want to steal any.
- 22:47Speaker 5: No, Colin is bluff.
- 22:48Speaker 2: No, I mean, you can go ahead and see that
- 22:52Speaker 2: Olympio consistently places top eight across there. It has not won,
- 22:59Speaker 2: but I'm going to tell you there are some decks
- 23:01Speaker 2: that have. You can see that.
- 23:03Speaker 5: I mean, Frog did great against PV at one event,
- 23:06Speaker 5: and then I didn't see any PV, and I got
- 23:08Speaker 5: knocked out 0-2.
- 23:09Speaker 4: So, you know, like.
- 23:10Speaker 2: But that's the other issue. You can see that Donatas, again,
- 23:13Speaker 2: can play very, very well against it. There are individual
- 23:18Speaker 2: decks that will play very well. The problem is, are
- 23:22Speaker 2: you playing just to beat PV? Then you have a
- 23:25Speaker 2: tendency to lose to Amber Skies against Tock, against some
- 23:29Speaker 2: other things that are present. And they don't necessarily show
- 23:34Speaker 2: up in the final slots, but they are showing up
- 23:37Speaker 2: pretty high. They might miss that cut for the 4-2 slot. Anyway, Archon.
- 23:48Speaker 1: Sorry, I'm unmuting myself because I am going to have some.
- 23:52Speaker 1: They're opening gifts behind me. If you're not playing to
- 23:58Speaker 1: beat PV, you're not playing to win. Period. End of story.
- 24:03Speaker 2: The problem is then there are individual decks that can
- 24:06Speaker 2: go ahead and have.
- 24:07Speaker 1: A better matchup. Yeah, but those decks are also not
- 24:10Speaker 1: going to win.
- 24:11Speaker 2: Well, if you can consistently beat PV, you just need
- 24:14Speaker 2: to see PV.
- 24:14Speaker 1: But nothing's consistently winning against PV. Olympio can beat upper
- 24:22Speaker 1: middle grade PV. But then when it comes to top eight,
- 24:26Speaker 1: it flounders. Name me another deck that is doing well
- 24:31Speaker 1: against PV.
- 24:33Speaker 2: You just saw the top four game in China that
- 24:37Speaker 2: went ahead and was Amber Skies also. Do you know
- 24:41Speaker 2: what that deck consists of?
- 24:43Speaker 1: I don't see it, but the problem is once we
- 24:45Speaker 1: go overseas, meta's different.
- 24:49Speaker 5: Not really anymore.
- 24:51Speaker 1: Ah, really?
- 24:52Speaker 5: It's all PV.
- 24:53Speaker 4: So, I am looking... Alright, so I just pulled up
- 24:56Speaker 4: this deck on the Drezscore.
- 24:58Speaker 2: Yep.
- 25:00Speaker 4: Tanugi Fat Tang Toy, which is pronounced perfectly. I promise.
- 25:06Speaker 2: Well done.
- 25:08Speaker 4: Thank you. Thank you. Can you do that in your
- 25:11Speaker 4: heart voice? So we got some Double Arise with Double
- 25:18Speaker 4: Vapor Amps, Double Dust Amps, uh, at a try hard
- 25:22Speaker 4: to loop around, uh, infinity strap to take out your
- 25:26Speaker 4: dust dams. If you need to, where was the second arise?
- 25:30Speaker 2: I only saw one.
- 25:30Speaker 4: There's my look at the right deck top cut Vietnam.
- 25:35Speaker 4: Oh shit. This is 2025.
- 25:37Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 25:39Speaker 2: So, so this one just has, honestly, it's a 97
- 25:45Speaker 2: SAS disc Geistoid Skyborne. Um, What was really interesting, while
- 25:52Speaker 2: Draz is pulling it up, is it is triple junk restoration.
- 25:58Speaker 2: But it's the amount of pips that are in here.
- 26:02Speaker 2: So a single rise is what's in this deck.
- 26:10Speaker 4: All right, and you should go ahead and pronounce it, Ewok.
- 26:12Speaker 4: I'm sure you'll get it perfectly right.
- 26:14Speaker 2: There were 29 enhancements here in this deck. So only
- 26:19Speaker 2: 13 printed Amber, 22 creatures. Um, but like double black Tempest,
- 26:24Speaker 2: double against all flags, triple Boston cream, double bucks, Bastian,
- 26:29Speaker 2: like that does not really jump out, but triple junk restoration. Um,
- 26:36Speaker 2: the arise is there. I actually, I did not put
- 26:39Speaker 2: it in for how to say it. I think this
- 26:43Speaker 2: deck actually struggles with C, um, but, Because the first
- 26:47Speaker 2: slot for C is Universal Welcome and then Infinity Strop.
- 26:52Speaker 2: Those are not necessarily things that I'm looking for, but
- 26:55Speaker 2: if it can consistently... I'm always looking for Infinity Strops.
- 26:58Speaker 4: That card's real good.
- 27:01Speaker 2: That card is good, but if you're looking... It does
- 27:05Speaker 2: not have a traditional board wipe, and when you see
- 27:07Speaker 2: Universal Welcome as basically your top creature removal card that
- 27:16Speaker 2: It's something, but it's not going to be what I am.
- 27:19Speaker 2: It's not. Yay, I'm super excited for Universal Welcome. So
- 27:24Speaker 2: take control of any creature in the center of your
- 27:26Speaker 2: opponent's battle line. Out of a 7.5 in DOK, that's
- 27:31Speaker 2: your 1.75. No, no, no, not at all.
- 27:35Speaker 6: No.
- 27:35Speaker 2: And it does have clipped wings. It does have Infinity Strop,
- 27:39Speaker 2: but outside of the Infinity Strop, it's got a Gift
- 27:41Speaker 2: of Amber. Then it's Maleficorn and Wellstring. This is not
- 27:45Speaker 2: a heavy creature control. It is not a deck that
- 27:49Speaker 2: is a ton of pips. It has some movement at
- 27:53Speaker 2: 15 for efficiency, but it was an interesting deck to
- 27:57Speaker 2: see that it made top four. Again, Geistroid with triple
- 28:01Speaker 2: junk is definitely something.
- 28:02Speaker 5: Sometimes you look at a deck and you ask why,
- 28:04Speaker 5: and then you find out it was just a whole
- 28:07Speaker 5: lot of good luck got it there.
- 28:09Speaker 2: Well, and that does happen. who do you play against?
- 28:12Speaker 2: What's your run? What happens? That can be something, but
- 28:17Speaker 2: it was interesting to me. There, I know PV has
- 28:23Speaker 2: some issues with consistent board presence. So if, you know,
- 28:27Speaker 2: talk and if Amber Skies can go ahead and spit
- 28:31Speaker 2: out creatures, PV is typically a little bit slower. It
- 28:38Speaker 2: can have some issues, but That's what we're seeing. I
- 28:41Speaker 2: don't know.
- 28:44Speaker 1: I guess it just depends because if you're going with, oh,
- 28:46Speaker 1: I'm going to spit out creatures to beat PV, now
- 28:48Speaker 1: you've got to worry about somebody bringing a Trunks and
- 28:55Speaker 1: what's the other one I'm thinking of?
- 28:56Speaker 4: Cryptic Collapse.
- 28:58Speaker 1: Cryptic Collapse. Thank you. That's actually the other one I
- 29:01Speaker 1: was looking for.
- 29:02Speaker 2: Yeah, Trunks Creed and Cryptic Collapse are the two that
- 29:05Speaker 2: you would expect to be able to see. But again,
- 29:08Speaker 2: if you don't run into PV, if you run into
- 29:10Speaker 2: PV that doesn't have those, if the car just is
- 29:13Speaker 2: late in the deck, it happens.
- 29:18Speaker 1: Maybe I bring Nathan. Old school 89 worlds collide.
- 29:24Speaker 2: But play a deck that you have fun with and
- 29:27Speaker 2: that you enjoy and that causes some issues. I guess
- 29:31Speaker 2: this is appropriate for... The problem.
- 29:34Speaker 1: With that is I'm going to bring a.
- 29:38Speaker 1: Watch him call it back. And nobody wants to see those.
- 29:42Speaker 4: Whatchamacallit? Disruption? No, I'm going to bring them.
- 29:47Speaker 5: Foreign language?
- 29:48Speaker 1: No, actually Nathan is a foreign language deck. I'm going
- 29:53Speaker 1: to bring a Dark Heart of the Forest. Oh.
- 29:59Speaker 4: Not impressed.
- 30:01Speaker 1: You don't have to be impressed. It's not there to impress, Dr.
- 30:04Speaker 5: Sheep.
- 30:05Speaker 2: There is so much artifact control right now.
- 30:09Speaker 1: That is a problem. There's a lot of artifact control. PV,
- 30:16Speaker 1: I don't know why they're like, yeah, let's just put
- 30:19Speaker 1: a bunch of... I don't know why PV was the
- 30:21Speaker 1: artifact control set. It's actually the.
- 30:25Speaker 5: Artifact stealing set. Man doesn't take artifacts.
- 30:29Speaker 2: It steals, it has Amber control, and Logos just spits
- 30:32Speaker 2: out creatures.
- 30:35Speaker 1: It can have my Dark Heart. That's cool. You can
- 30:37Speaker 1: have that now.
- 30:38Speaker 2: That's not a creature.
- 30:39Speaker 1: It's still doing its thing.
- 30:46Speaker 4: All right.
- 30:47Speaker 2: So for you guys, did you go ahead? Draz, we
- 30:52Speaker 2: played for Alliance. Yes. How did your tournament go for Archon? Now,
- 30:58Speaker 2: you're borrowing a deck. Game one, what's happening?
- 31:02Speaker 4: I don't remember anymore. I mean, it's been a long time.
- 31:07Speaker 4: I don't specifically remember the game.
- 31:11Speaker 1: Man, Vietnam was like three weeks ago.
- 31:13Speaker 4: Longer than that. Was it longer than that? Yeah, it's
- 31:16Speaker 4: been over a month at this point. Yeah, it's been
- 31:19Speaker 4: over a month. My bad. But, no, I played, I borrowed.
- 31:27Speaker 4: One of X-Ray's decks. Grizzle.
- 31:36Speaker 1: Bless you. It was what?
- 31:39Speaker 4: Grizzle. Bataar. The Grey. Oh, gosh. The Grey. Bahara. Bahara. Bahara. Bahara. Bahara. Bahara.
- 31:48Speaker 3: Bahara.
- 31:48Speaker 4: Bahara.
- 31:49Speaker 1: Bahara.
- 31:52Speaker 4: Maybe that's my new nickname. So, um, probably not.
- 31:57Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 31:57Speaker 4: It's the other pronounce.
- 31:58Speaker 2: I agree.
- 31:58Speaker 4: So, um, so this thing's pretty cool. Um, yeah, it's,
- 32:06Speaker 4: I don't, I don't know that it's amazing, but it's
- 32:11Speaker 4: got some good stuff. It's got the Delta P it's
- 32:15Speaker 4: got the atrocity. It's got enough D and, um, in
- 32:22Speaker 4: Dis to cause opponent's problems. The Carry-In run, double Banish,
- 32:27Speaker 4: double Doom. Got your Parasite Arachnoid Shrug for your Prophecies, Shaeful,
- 32:34Speaker 4: so it's got a lot of just annoying stuff in Dis.
- 32:36Speaker 4: Doesn't have the Cryptid Collapse ring, unfortunately, but it's got
- 32:39Speaker 4: some annoying stuff. It's got the Exotic Pivot with the
- 32:42Speaker 4: double reiteration, so you can put not-logo stuff on the bottom.
- 32:47Speaker 4: You got your Foreseer, Candle Unit, ZXY Researcher to archive
- 32:54Speaker 4: your Exotic Pivot, Reassembly Required for messing with your opponent's
- 32:59Speaker 4: archives if necessary. And then it's got a Sarian House,
- 33:03Speaker 4: which is definitely non-traditional for PV. It's got a 2-low,
- 33:09Speaker 4: double Sedentary Nap. It's got a Legacy Senator Shrips with
- 33:13Speaker 4: a Scutum. Nice. And then double Spendthrift. So, It can
- 33:19Speaker 4: do some things, right? It's got an early bird for
- 33:22Speaker 4: its good prophecy. Looms into Wisdom's not bad. But... The...
- 33:34Speaker 4: It's solid. It's solid. It's not amazing. I think I
- 33:38Speaker 4: ended up going three and three. I just missed four
- 33:42Speaker 4: and two. And... I played alright. I felt like the
- 33:47Speaker 4: games that I won, I felt in control. At least
- 33:53Speaker 4: one or two of the games I lost, I felt
- 33:55Speaker 4: like I just couldn't do things that I needed to do.
- 34:02Speaker 4: Does not have artifact control. That is one thing that
- 34:07Speaker 4: is missing. I did okay. Not as well as Sealed
- 34:10Speaker 4: or even Alliance, I guess.
- 34:12Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 34:14Speaker 4: How about you, Buck?
- 34:16Speaker 2: Well, I continued my trajectory in that I traveled all
- 34:21Speaker 2: the way across the world. And my first game was
- 34:24Speaker 2: against Sydney, local. And so that was that was wonderful
- 34:31Speaker 2: and sad because. I don't know, I know there was
- 34:36Speaker 2: a high amount of international people at the vault, so
- 34:38Speaker 2: I can't really complain against that, but. knowing that I
- 34:42Speaker 2: played you round one for Alliance. And then I played
- 34:44Speaker 2: her round one for our con. It just was, I
- 34:47Speaker 2: was hoping to play other people, nothing against you guys,
- 34:49Speaker 2: but you're traveling a distance and, um, I can play
- 34:52Speaker 2: her at locals and I can play you when we
- 34:55Speaker 2: go to our vaults. Um, it is what it is.
- 34:58Speaker 2: We had also played this matchup before at our store and, uh,
- 35:02Speaker 2: she's played against this deck. So she brought Shaw universe,
- 35:05Speaker 2: Bill Hardane, um, sweet, sweet, sweet deck actually has quite
- 35:10Speaker 2: a bit going on for it. Um, that had cryptic collapse,
- 35:14Speaker 2: Delta P it had double. Oh, you shouldn't have. And
- 35:19Speaker 2: that's just the dis, uh, cloud of Genesis, crystalline harvest,
- 35:23Speaker 2: double loss in the woods, invigorating shower. And then you
- 35:27Speaker 2: have the sorry. And with defense initiative, paleo gene society, governance, Slovenia,
- 35:33Speaker 2: double scoot them, uh, Marcella, pluvia, screedio, like, it can
- 35:37Speaker 2: spit out a big board. It's got quite a bit
- 35:39Speaker 2: of speed there and 16 printed Amber. Um, but the
- 35:44Speaker 2: short answer is I'm looking for cryptic and cryptic never
- 35:47Speaker 2: came out. Um, so that's why I say like cryptic,
- 35:50Speaker 2: if it just doesn't show up that that's there. And my,
- 35:54Speaker 2: my deck that I was playing with swordsman and swordsman
- 35:56Speaker 2: just wants to spit out logos creatures. So I literally
- 35:59Speaker 2: had a boat ton of logos creatures. So yes, I
- 36:02Speaker 2: got lucky in that it did not come up, but
- 36:03Speaker 2: we played it before. Um, I, that swordsman has beaten
- 36:10Speaker 2: Shaw before and it did it again. Um, but you
- 36:13Speaker 2: feel bad because essentially if you lose round one, um,
- 36:16Speaker 2: you're in a really, really tough spot unless you went
- 36:18Speaker 2: out the rest of the time, uh, the less rest
- 36:21Speaker 2: of the rounds and your opponent also has a very
- 36:24Speaker 2: high standing. Um, so that was round one. It is
- 36:29Speaker 2: what it is. Um, we come into round two and
- 36:32Speaker 2: actually faced off against serotonin and for a Anything that
- 36:37Speaker 2: I had in game one, I did not have it.
- 36:40Speaker 2: Serotonin's deck literally just straight up obliterated me. It had
- 36:44Speaker 2: creature control. It had amber control. It had every response,
- 36:49Speaker 2: and I could not do anything against it. I think
- 36:52Speaker 2: I finished with zero keys. I'm not even joking. I
- 36:55Speaker 2: don't know what the amber was. It was not. It
- 36:58Speaker 2: was not good. And then you start questioning life.
- 37:00Speaker 4: Yeah, go ahead. Yeah, that deck, that is the one
- 37:04Speaker 4: that when I was searching around online, I found that deck.
- 37:10Speaker 4: So I was playing that, and I was like, this
- 37:13Speaker 4: deck is amazing. And I made an offer, and he
- 37:18Speaker 4: was like, I'm going to play in Vietnam. You would
- 37:21Speaker 4: have to offer me an outrageous amount of money for
- 37:24Speaker 4: me to give up this deck. So I was like, well, yes.
- 37:29Speaker 2: Not so it's good good deck it is a very
- 37:34Speaker 2: very very very good deck there's no question about it
- 37:37Speaker 2: it ends up taking second uh teaser there but uh
- 37:41Speaker 2: so congrats on being able to go out and qualify
- 37:44Speaker 2: for worlds um that again deck was very very very
- 37:49Speaker 2: good um we then get a lunch break uh we
- 37:53Speaker 2: actually got more than a half an hour on this
- 37:55Speaker 2: one i think draz that was you and i that
- 37:57Speaker 2: went upstairs Yeah. Oh yeah.
- 38:00Speaker 4: We rushed up to, uh, to get some eats real fast.
- 38:04Speaker 4: So which was super convenient.
- 38:06Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 38:07Speaker 4: And what did she, did you eat with us that day?
- 38:09Speaker 4: I can't remember.
- 38:10Speaker 1: No, I went.
- 38:11Speaker 5: Oh, two and napped.
- 38:13Speaker 4: Oh, two nap.
- 38:15Speaker 2: Go. Nice. I will say the food was delicious. I
- 38:21Speaker 2: really enjoyed it, but I was questioning cause I'm now
- 38:23Speaker 2: one in one and I'm like, uh, now, now you're
- 38:25Speaker 2: in kind of a predicament. Uh, Rounds three, this close
- 38:34Speaker 2: Delpha I played, I ended up going ahead and winning.
- 38:38Speaker 2: Round four was Omegon.
- 38:40Speaker 1: I won.
- 38:41Speaker 2: And then round five, round five stood out to me
- 38:45Speaker 2: because I played Captain Gale and Captain Gale was on
- 38:47Speaker 2: Pastor Ass. So well-known deck. And I'm like, oh man.
- 38:52Speaker 2: And I know I just need to literally, outrace it,
- 38:58Speaker 2: which is kind of an odd statement, but it needs
- 39:00Speaker 2: to be a very, very quick set of you need
- 39:04Speaker 2: to run and you're going to need to run fast.
- 39:06Speaker 2: And so that is what I did. I got lucky
- 39:08Speaker 2: in that my opening hand was odd for Swordsman. I
- 39:12Speaker 2: actually had a lateral shift in my opening hands, which
- 39:16Speaker 2: is in my disc set. And he, I want to
- 39:21Speaker 2: say he was going first and he made a choice
- 39:24Speaker 2: to keep his whole hand. And Even though I wasn't
- 39:29Speaker 2: at a huge lean into one house or another, I
- 39:34Speaker 2: decided to keep it. And I actually went disc, got
- 39:38Speaker 2: rid of a couple of cards for San Amber. And
- 39:39Speaker 2: I think I put down a life ward and I
- 39:41Speaker 2: lateral shifted and I ended up going ahead and taking his, uh,
- 39:48Speaker 2: winds of death. Now, the Winds of Death had no
- 39:53Speaker 2: impact for the board, but what it did is it
- 39:55Speaker 2: put it in the discard pile. And so that gave
- 39:58Speaker 2: me a little bit. Now, on Pastor S, there's two
- 40:02Speaker 2: Winds of Death in there. So his next turn, he
- 40:05Speaker 2: ended up going ahead and needing to, he basically did
- 40:09Speaker 2: Mars in order to archive it and to protect it
- 40:12Speaker 2: in the future. And I want to say he actually
- 40:13Speaker 2: sent it back into his deck. So he's got two left,
- 40:17Speaker 2: but my response was to drop a massive board of logos.
- 40:21Speaker 2: And that is, I'm now going to go ahead and
- 40:24Speaker 2: reap out with logos and continue to do more things.
- 40:27Speaker 2: And I think that's, what's really dangerous about PV is PV.
- 40:31Speaker 2: What PV offers at the common slot, like digitalia after reap,
- 40:36Speaker 2: draw a card for each of digitalia is logos neighbors.
- 40:39Speaker 2: And we get an enhance off of it. So literally
- 40:41Speaker 2: if you put logos next to it, you're, Gaining an
- 40:44Speaker 2: Amber and drawing two cards to continue to cycle more,
- 40:47Speaker 2: it was brutal. And so I ended up with a
- 40:52Speaker 2: big board. At one point, I ended up going in
- 40:55Speaker 2: Mercurial Wormhole into my... I want to say that was
- 40:59Speaker 2: Dis or Untamed that I could see, and it just
- 41:01Speaker 2: produced more. I had two keys, and I basically pushed
- 41:05Speaker 2: for the third. And I apologize, CatsGale, because I know
- 41:09Speaker 2: I put in way too much time thinking about... the
- 41:12Speaker 2: choice there. And I think I pushed out for like
- 41:15Speaker 2: 20 some Amber, which really wasn't impactful. I was trying
- 41:18Speaker 2: to get to a card, but he's like, I can't
- 41:21Speaker 2: stop you. I don't have an OTK. So at that
- 41:23Speaker 2: point in pastor, pastor did not have, um, the untamed.
- 41:30Speaker 2: What is it? The artifacts. NEPC. He did not have
- 41:33Speaker 2: the NEPC out. So he couldn't OTK me.
- 41:36Speaker 1: Um, but.
- 41:38Speaker 2: I, even though it was, it was a very, um,
- 41:42Speaker 2: large range for the game. I felt that pastor could
- 41:46Speaker 2: literally go at any point in time and it can win. Um,
- 41:49Speaker 2: and having played that deck before that, that was just
- 41:52Speaker 2: a scary matchup for me. So feeling much better after
- 41:55Speaker 2: a couple of wins under me. And then we went
- 41:59Speaker 2: into round six and at four and one, I felt
- 42:04Speaker 2: pretty comfortable that if I lost round six, I would
- 42:06Speaker 2: still probably make it. I did end up going out
- 42:08Speaker 2: and winning. So I was five one and I did
- 42:10Speaker 2: make top eight. Um, So, yeah, that was actually really
- 42:15Speaker 2: exciting to be able to do. So I will say
- 42:20Speaker 2: that I completely messed up and this is a mission.
- 42:24Speaker 2: Ox Sabine, boys and girls, what does Ox Sabine do?
- 42:29Speaker 2: Or sorry, Ox Sabine.
- 42:30Speaker 5: After you use a creature, all your guys get tapped down.
- 42:34Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 42:35Speaker 5: It's all the guys in the same house.
- 42:38Speaker 2: Each enemy creature gains after fight after reap exhaust, each
- 42:42Speaker 2: friendly creature that shares a house with this creature. Um,
- 42:45Speaker 2: it wasn't a foreign language and that should have been
- 42:48Speaker 2: V Vietnamese. Um, I should have taken more time to
- 42:52Speaker 2: look at the after fight after reap. I apparently was
- 42:57Speaker 2: not thinking. So that one was on me and you
- 42:59Speaker 2: can see kind of the response of, haha, I got you.
- 43:02Speaker 2: And so that put me a little bit on tilt
- 43:05Speaker 2: to be honest. And, uh, because my one reap went ahead,
- 43:11Speaker 2: and I'm like, oh, I'll just fight this afterwards. Nope.
- 43:14Speaker 2: That was on me for messing that up, because I
- 43:16Speaker 2: was going to fight it, but I did not fight
- 43:18Speaker 2: it first. I reaped, and then lost the other six
- 43:23Speaker 2: creatures that were logos. So I basically time-walked myself, and
- 43:27Speaker 2: then on the next turn, he dropped down....
- 43:36Speaker 1: What was the.
- 43:38Speaker 2: He put Taunt on it and went ahead and warded it.
- 43:43Speaker 2: Now I actually have a problem. So I get to
- 43:45Speaker 2: time walk myself again as I deal with the ward.
- 43:49Speaker 2: And then on the third turn, I did go ahead
- 43:53Speaker 2: and have my removal. And so I was able to
- 43:55Speaker 2: remove it. But don't do that. That's my strategy because
- 44:00Speaker 2: that game, instead of being... pretty wide disparity turned out
- 44:04Speaker 2: to be a lot closer than it needed to, because
- 44:06Speaker 2: I did not read oxygen on after reap after fight.
- 44:10Speaker 2: So I will forever remember this card and it will
- 44:13Speaker 2: haunt me, but, uh, I finished five, one, put me
- 44:16Speaker 2: in a good spot and we went into a top eight. Um,
- 44:21Speaker 2: and then I have more, more frustration, uh, in my
- 44:26Speaker 2: top eight game. I felt pretty comfortable with what was there.
- 44:29Speaker 2: I was actually facing a Ducilis that was brought into PV.
- 44:33Speaker 4: Which is cool. That's not a thing you normally see.
- 44:40Speaker 2: No, it was actually really cool, and it ended up
- 44:42Speaker 2: being there. DeHunt was playing it. I felt that I
- 44:48Speaker 2: had literally the worst draw on Swordsman. Swordsman typically has
- 44:53Speaker 2: the game wrapped up by turn 5. If it is
- 44:57Speaker 2: not pushing for the third key at that point or
- 44:59Speaker 2: turn six, it's really not in a good spot. And
- 45:05Speaker 2: it's essentially just a PV rush deck. And on turn two,
- 45:11Speaker 2: I pushed for my first key and he dropped Dusilis.
- 45:18Speaker 2: So at that point he had played three cards and
- 45:21Speaker 2: Mike Dusilis is there. That's his main large scaling Amber control.
- 45:26Speaker 2: That's a problem, but I should be able to kill
- 45:28Speaker 2: it afterwards. The problem was he had Dusilis and Exile,
- 45:32Speaker 2: so he literally had two halves of the giant and
- 45:35Speaker 2: Exile in hand on turn two when I went ahead
- 45:39Speaker 2: and popped. So he took all my amber, dropped it
- 45:42Speaker 2: over to me, and then had some amber. Two turns later,
- 45:46Speaker 2: he was actually able to bounce it back with bubbles
- 45:49Speaker 2: to the top of his deck, taking all of my amber, so...
- 45:54Speaker 2: My six amber that I would have gone ahead and
- 45:56Speaker 2: forged that key with is now his. And I could
- 46:01Speaker 2: not draw. So I get to my key one. I
- 46:04Speaker 2: get to key two. And when he was at... I
- 46:13Speaker 2: knew it was on the top of his deck because
- 46:17Speaker 2: he had bubble-stitched. I have the lateral shift in hands
- 46:21Speaker 2: and I will say I love lateral shift, but this
- 46:23Speaker 2: is the only time that it actually came to bite
- 46:25Speaker 2: me in the butt. I knew that he had dribble. Correct.
- 46:30Speaker 2: That is exactly it is that he had gotten to six.
- 46:33Speaker 2: I knew that he had do Sillis that he just drew,
- 46:37Speaker 2: but lateral shift literally says, play, look at your opponent's hand,
- 46:40Speaker 2: play a card from that hand as if it were yours. Now, frankly,
- 46:45Speaker 2: I had to see if he had any Amber control there.
- 46:48Speaker 1: I'm fine.
- 46:49Speaker 2: I did not have Amber control at that point. But
- 46:52Speaker 2: the other thing is, is he really doesn't have anything
- 46:54Speaker 2: outside of the Dusilis that I was typically worried about
- 46:57Speaker 2: anything major. So I really just, I want to, I
- 47:04Speaker 2: want to take one, I want to take one half
- 47:06Speaker 2: of it. I don't even care, but the problem is
- 47:09Speaker 2: I can't play one half. So if I take a card,
- 47:12Speaker 2: which is.
- 47:13Speaker 5: Half of Dusilis, this goes back to where it came from.
- 47:16Speaker 2: It goes back to where it came from, which is
- 47:18Speaker 2: his hand. So it literally did nothing in this spot.
- 47:23Speaker 4: Um, which, which I think is the weird, like the
- 47:27Speaker 4: rules around gigantics are so weird.
- 47:31Speaker 1: Like they are.
- 47:33Speaker 2: I think that rule is perfectly fine to be honest,
- 47:35Speaker 2: but well, but.
- 47:36Speaker 4: Why, so why can you not play it? But they can,
- 47:43Speaker 4: I guess, because it's as if it was in your hand.
- 47:45Speaker 4: So like, Because they don't need to.
- 47:48Speaker 5: Make gigantics any worse than they already are.
- 47:51Speaker 4: That is true.
- 47:52Speaker 1: Like, I.
- 47:54Speaker 2: Don't know.
- 47:54Speaker 4: It's super weird.
- 47:55Speaker 5: Because you can't exhume a gigantic either. You can't wild
- 47:59Speaker 5: wormhole a gigantic, even if you have the other half
- 48:01Speaker 5: in your hand. And honestly, there's lots of weird stuff
- 48:05Speaker 5: like that.
- 48:06Speaker 2: It is weird, but I am all for you should
- 48:09Speaker 2: be able to exhume it. You should be able to
- 48:11Speaker 2: go ahead and wild wormhole it. gigantics just are not
- 48:15Speaker 2: that broken that i'm concerned about it it made it
- 48:18Speaker 2: it made me laugh because we talk i talk about
- 48:20Speaker 2: gigantics as they really have no impact and this one
- 48:23Speaker 2: actually did have an impact on the game and shut
- 48:25Speaker 2: me down because i did not have a ton of
- 48:27Speaker 2: removal that was left i had no way to really
- 48:29Speaker 2: get rid of it it captured and i couldn't surprise.
- 48:32Speaker 5: Me for it to get so deep with how much
- 48:33Speaker 5: purging crap there is in this game.
- 48:36Speaker 2: So what was really, really, really interesting was I was
- 48:40Speaker 2: expecting to see Trunks Creed and Cryptic Collapse. And I
- 48:43Speaker 2: did see Cryptic, but not because Sydney did not end
- 48:46Speaker 2: up pulling it by the time I had finished the game.
- 48:51Speaker 2: I did not see Trunks Creed at all in my
- 48:53Speaker 2: decks that I played against. But what I did see
- 48:56Speaker 2: was a ton, literally a ton of of dinos. I
- 49:02Speaker 2: saw dinos, warded dinos, big boards.
- 49:04Speaker 5: I told you guys all the time that dinos are
- 49:06Speaker 5: good in PvE and you guys don't want to jump
- 49:08Speaker 5: on board with me.
- 49:10Speaker 4: I mean, I did play dinos in PvE.
- 49:13Speaker 2: It was interesting how much did you guys see large
- 49:17Speaker 2: boards with dinos as well?
- 49:20Speaker 5: No.
- 49:21Speaker 2: No, okay.
- 49:22Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, my board is not that large with
- 49:25Speaker 4: Dinos with that X-Rays deck, but it's more doing interesting stuff,
- 49:32Speaker 4: bringing the sea than it is a big board.
- 49:38Speaker 2: It's only got.
- 49:40Speaker 4: Well, three playable creatures. It's got one of those stupid
- 49:45Speaker 4: hidden agents, so that's not playable.
- 49:48Speaker 5: Getting murdered by Josh Allen.
- 49:51Speaker 2: Murdered. I will say that I did not have a
- 49:57Speaker 2: ton of C, and so with Big Rush deck, I
- 50:01Speaker 2: was impressed that I was able to still fight through
- 50:04Speaker 2: the dinos. People talk about, oh, you must go ahead
- 50:07Speaker 2: and have all of the C and the creature removal.
- 50:11Speaker 2: The other option, and I can state this, just be faster.
- 50:14Speaker 2: If you can get through the game faster, that really matters.
- 50:18Speaker 2: In game six, to actually get in, I won off
- 50:21Speaker 2: of Bufo. So there are double Bufos in the deck
- 50:24Speaker 2: that I was playing. And I'm a horrible person because
- 50:29Speaker 2: the final game, I actually won with Bufo under Ask
- 50:32Speaker 2: Again Later. With the errata, I had zero ways to
- 50:39Speaker 2: take him off of check. but I could get to
- 50:43Speaker 2: check and had Bufo there. He had to be able
- 50:45Speaker 2: to guess and he did not guess right. Yeah.
- 50:50Speaker 5: Coin flips deciding games.
- 50:52Speaker 2: Well, it was higher than a coin flip because.
- 50:55Speaker 5: Because your guy had too much logos in it.
- 50:59Speaker 2: Well, so yes, technically, if we look at it, what
- 51:04Speaker 2: I had done actually in that game was is that
- 51:07Speaker 2: the board was out, so there was a chunk of logos,
- 51:09Speaker 2: but it was fairly even. But what I did is
- 51:11Speaker 2: I blew things up and I cycled my deck. So
- 51:15Speaker 2: literally everything was as close to fresh as new to
- 51:19Speaker 2: give me the best odds for ask again. And then
- 51:21Speaker 2: it pushes it closer to that 66%. You only have
- 51:24Speaker 2: 33% to get it.
- 51:27Speaker 5: Yeah, but.
- 51:36Speaker 5: Tons of random effects deciding games.
- 51:39Speaker 1: So, but that, that got me.
- 51:41Speaker 5: Does it end to your opponent's game or did it
- 51:43Speaker 5: mean nothing?
- 51:44Speaker 1: Did you go Mr. Abato for anybody else or just me?
- 51:48Speaker 4: Those two, which means for all our listeners, because you're
- 51:52Speaker 4: the one recording.
- 51:53Speaker 1: That's right.
- 51:54Speaker 5: Yep.
- 51:55Speaker 1: So, so yeah, I mean, we get the, I get,
- 51:57Speaker 1: we got the idea, right?
- 51:58Speaker 2: Like, yeah, the idea is there, but it, it, I
- 52:04Speaker 2: got very lucky with the win off of Bufo in
- 52:08Speaker 2: round six. I got very unlucky with what I drew
- 52:11Speaker 2: in the top eight match. I would have gone ahead
- 52:15Speaker 2: and faced Riku in the top four. And I was
- 52:19Speaker 2: just really happy to go ahead and be able to
- 52:21Speaker 2: represent and to make top eight. I think top eight
- 52:24Speaker 2: with the Archon field, all the international, like that was
- 52:27Speaker 2: a very impressive field.
- 52:28Speaker 1: So I was very happy.
- 52:30Speaker 2: And we got to go out and guys, we did
- 52:32Speaker 2: go out on Sunday night, um, closed up shop and
- 52:37Speaker 2: we went to some hot pods. So.
- 52:40Speaker 5: Waiting in line for Hot Pot.
- 52:42Speaker 4: Waiting in line for Hot Pot forever. Yeah, so it
- 52:46Speaker 4: was a ton of fun. It definitely was a little
- 52:50Speaker 4: bit of a reminder for me of, like, why when
- 52:53Speaker 4: we go to vaults, I will tell people where I'm going,
- 52:58Speaker 4: but I'm like, we're not all going to, like, try
- 53:00Speaker 4: to wait and go together, and if we end up
- 53:02Speaker 4: at different tables, that's cool. There was a very long wait. Understandably,
- 53:08Speaker 4: because we showed up with, like, 40 people. Yeah.
- 53:13Speaker 2: Um, but, uh, we sat in tables of what?
- 53:17Speaker 5: Eight, six to eight.
- 53:18Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 53:19Speaker 4: Yeah. Something like that. So, so it was a good time.
- 53:22Speaker 4: Like we, so I ended up sitting with, um, uh,
- 53:27Speaker 4: some Vietnamese friends, some us friends and my family. So, uh,
- 53:32Speaker 4: JJ and Barry from, uh, from us side, uh, And,
- 53:36Speaker 4: you know, any time you're sitting with JJ, when weird
- 53:39Speaker 4: foods involved, it's going to be a good time.
- 53:43Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 53:45Speaker 4: So the yeah, no, we had a good time chatting.
- 53:50Speaker 4: It was, you know, it was good hot pot.
- 53:54Speaker 2: Did the did the food just keep coming for you guys?
- 53:57Speaker 2: Like I sat with sheep and Ben. We also had
- 54:01Speaker 2: some French friends and some Vietnamese friends. It was an
- 54:04Speaker 2: absolutely amazing time. But the food just continued to come
- 54:07Speaker 2: and come and come. And I loved it.
- 54:10Speaker 5: And more and more. Yeah, we kept pushing more buttons.
- 54:13Speaker 2: I am well aware of this.
- 54:16Speaker 5: IsFat kept pushing more buttons.
- 54:18Speaker 4: There you go.
- 54:19Speaker 2: There's no complaints from the noodles that were hand-danced for us.
- 54:26Speaker 4: The noodles were good. Yeah.
- 54:27Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 54:28Speaker 5: From.
- 54:29Speaker 2: We went ahead. I got to try pig brain for
- 54:32Speaker 2: the first time and duck blood. And just like there
- 54:36Speaker 2: was random normal stuff as well. But like the locals
- 54:42Speaker 2: were so generous with like, nope, hold. Because at this point,
- 54:45Speaker 2: I still had really no idea how to hold my utensil. So, yes,
- 54:52Speaker 2: I was really struggling, but everyone was very patient and
- 54:55Speaker 2: But they would like, hey, you must hold the beef
- 54:57Speaker 2: in here for 10 seconds, swirl around, and then use
- 55:00Speaker 2: the chopsticks. You're going to pull this out or wrap
- 55:02Speaker 2: it around like this. A highlight, sheep got hit in
- 55:07Speaker 2: the eye. That was amazing.
- 55:09Speaker 5: Yeah, with the spicy broth. It burned. Oh, it burned.
- 55:15Speaker 5: I had to go rinse my eye for several minutes.
- 55:18Speaker 2: This is why.
- 55:20Speaker 2: It's a highlight because only sheep could get hot broth
- 55:23Speaker 2: in his eyes, man. Only sheep.
- 55:25Speaker 1: If any one of you would ever be injured in
- 55:28Speaker 1: a foreign country, my blood pressure would spike.
- 55:31Speaker 4: So it turns out Vietnam is the country you want
- 55:36Speaker 4: to be injured in, right? Dylan shows up with a
- 55:40Speaker 4: broken foot and goes... You get.
- 55:44Speaker 5: A fix for like $ 1. 76. Yeah.
- 55:47Speaker 4: I think they said they paid like or something or
- 55:50Speaker 4: other for, uh, like doctor, like independent doctor's time, like
- 55:56Speaker 4: full doctor's time, the, the cast, the crutches, like a
- 56:01Speaker 4: meeting with door to door.
- 56:03Speaker 2: Yep.
- 56:04Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 56:05Speaker 2: And there was no insurance. So realize that no insurance,
- 56:09Speaker 2: you get essentially checked for x-ray. You go ahead and
- 56:13Speaker 2: meet with a doctor. You have a physical therapist, you
- 56:15Speaker 2: get fitted, all of that. for even under 500 is crazy.
- 56:20Speaker 2: Like I was just in urgent care with my youngest
- 56:23Speaker 2: last week. And I guarantee I spent more than that.
- 56:27Speaker 2: And I have insurance. Like no question about it.
- 56:31Speaker 5: Now this is America where you spend the first 10
- 56:33Speaker 5: grand at least in a year on your insurance. And
- 56:37Speaker 5: then it doesn't do anything until you spent five or
- 56:41Speaker 5: six grand with the hospital. Then after you spent 16,
- 56:44Speaker 5: finally your insurance kicks in. Fantastic. My kid got to
- 56:52Speaker 5: do urgent care this year, too, and we're out his
- 56:54Speaker 5: full deductible.
- 56:56Speaker 1: $ 3, 800 or whatever it is.
- 57:00Speaker 2: I will say before Hot Pot, I had bounced away
- 57:02Speaker 2: from you guys because I had commissioned some artwork of
- 57:05Speaker 2: my family from a local artist, which was super cool.
- 57:08Speaker 2: But I went and picked that up and then run back.
- 57:11Speaker 2: And what was so neat was this.
- 57:17Speaker 2: They had the local soccer match on. So everyone's in
- 57:21Speaker 2: the center square area. These like screens are just big jumbotrons,
- 57:26Speaker 2: but at like lower level and they had five sets
- 57:29Speaker 2: of them. So they put up the screens during just
- 57:32Speaker 2: absolutely amazing. I was talking to my wife on the
- 57:34Speaker 2: way in and Vietnam had scored against Malaysia and literally
- 57:39Speaker 2: it just, it went crazy. It was such a neat experience.
- 57:44Speaker 2: And I mean, you look at it and you're like, okay,
- 57:47Speaker 2: Outside of Vietnam and Malaysia, who else was watching that game?
- 57:52Speaker 2: As a soccer fan, I would not have known about
- 57:55Speaker 2: that even over in the States. But yet it was
- 57:58Speaker 2: so important to the local culture there. It made my
- 58:01Speaker 2: night to be able to walk there and then to
- 58:03Speaker 2: have amazing food, have great camaraderie. And I left absolutely
- 58:07Speaker 2: stuffed beyond belief. And I was pleasantly happy. I got
- 58:11Speaker 2: to try things that I would have probably not tried
- 58:14Speaker 2: outside of the comfort of the group that we were with.
- 58:17Speaker 5: This dinner was in the building that the Avengers headquarter is,
- 58:22Speaker 5: that they use for the Avengers headquarter.
- 58:24Speaker 4: Oh, that's right. It did look like Stark Tower.
- 58:28Speaker 5: That's because it's the same building they used for Stark Tower.
- 58:30Speaker 1: I was going to say, because it's what she said.
- 58:32Speaker 1: Is it real? It was Stark Tower.
- 58:34Speaker 4: I did not realize it was actually the building. I
- 58:38Speaker 4: thought it was.
- 58:39Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 58:41Speaker 4: Maybe it was.
- 58:42Speaker 1: Sorry, I'm watching Thursday Night Football and the Bills are
- 58:45Speaker 1: absolutely laying the wood to the Lions.
- 58:48Speaker 4: This is almost ridiculous.
- 58:51Speaker 1: But continue.
- 58:53Speaker 2: I'm glad that we're very exciting for you and you
- 58:55Speaker 2: want to check out.
- 58:56Speaker 5: Maybe it's something different.
- 58:59Speaker 1: It is called multitasking, sir.
- 59:01Speaker 5: Yes, we're at the Texco Financial Tower. It has a
- 59:06Speaker 5: strong resemblance, but they're not actually using that building.
- 59:10Speaker 2: I will say i was bummed that we did not
- 59:12Speaker 2: get it up to go ahead and look on the
- 59:14Speaker 2: viewing layer like that was on my bucket list but
- 59:17Speaker 2: as we went up they're like no closed because the
- 59:21Speaker 2: time was listed but they had shut down the last
- 59:23Speaker 2: section of view what 15 20 minutes before we were
- 59:26Speaker 2: there so yeah that is back and did it later
- 59:30Speaker 2: It was okay. Did you do it at night, though?
- 59:33Speaker 5: No.
- 59:35Speaker 2: I thought it would be really neat at night to
- 59:36Speaker 2: just look out and see the lights and the city
- 59:38Speaker 2: and everything. I was very, very happy. Did we do
- 59:45Speaker 2: anything else? I didn't have anything else that we did
- 59:47Speaker 2: that night because I think we got set to go
- 59:51Speaker 2: out to Donang the next night or the next morning.
- 59:54Speaker 5: I know Mike and I, after dinner, we just went back.
- 59:59Speaker 2: I think I tried to ping people and no one
- 1:00:01Speaker 2: was there. So I just walked around.
- 1:00:03Speaker 4: Yeah. What did we do? I'm looking at the pictures now.
- 1:00:10Speaker 4: I mean, we were there, we were there a good
- 1:00:14Speaker 4: long time. I think it was very late. Yeah. I
- 1:00:19Speaker 4: feel like it was one of these things. Cause we
- 1:00:20Speaker 4: did have, we had to get the airport in the morning.
- 1:00:23Speaker 4: So I think it was one of these things where
- 1:00:24Speaker 4: I took my family back to the hotel and I
- 1:00:28Speaker 4: was like, well, maybe I'll go out. And then by
- 1:00:30Speaker 4: the time, you know, you get the most situated and
- 1:00:33Speaker 4: all that. And I might, I might've been tired at
- 1:00:36Speaker 4: that point.
- 1:00:37Speaker 2: Well, we, yeah, we left shape. I know we left
- 1:00:41Speaker 2: after 10 40. So it was late. We went out
- 1:00:44Speaker 2: the next morning.
- 1:00:45Speaker 4: Wait, didn't we get ice cream, actually?
- 1:00:47Speaker 2: No, ice cream was.
- 1:00:48Speaker 4: Was it the gelato? Yeah, gelato was actually... We got
- 1:00:50Speaker 4: gelato twice.
- 1:00:51Speaker 2: Gelato was.
- 1:00:52Speaker 5: We got ice cream at the dinner place. That's where
- 1:00:54Speaker 5: we had the sweet corn ice cream. Yeah.
- 1:01:00Speaker 4: Didn't we get, like, durian ice cream? Somebody got durian
- 1:01:03Speaker 4: ice cream? When I say someone, I think I mean JJ.
- 1:01:07Speaker 5: No, that was during the trip. And that was JJ.
- 1:01:11Speaker 5: And that was at the Old Town?
- 1:01:13Speaker 2: That night.
- 1:01:14Speaker 1: Does JJ enjoy just like beating himself up?
- 1:01:19Speaker 5: JJ likes all the stinkiest stuff.
- 1:01:21Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah. All right. Now I know there was a
- 1:01:25Speaker 2: lot post trip. What were some of the highlights for
- 1:01:30Speaker 2: you guys? Just very, very quick.
- 1:01:33Speaker 4: I don't want to go ahead.
- 1:01:34Speaker 2: The food, the food, the people, uh, I know it
- 1:01:38Speaker 2: was an odd piece, but sheep just going out and
- 1:01:40Speaker 2: running in the morning and seeing like the people kind
- 1:01:43Speaker 2: of doing their like literally food was out on the street.
- 1:01:46Speaker 2: Exercise was out on the street. Just people were living life,
- 1:01:49Speaker 2: just kind of on the streets. And then it would
- 1:01:53Speaker 2: kind of clear out during the day. I also have
- 1:01:56Speaker 2: to shout out not tonight. One of my favorite moments
- 1:01:59Speaker 2: was those silly coconut boats.
- 1:02:02Speaker 4: The coconut boats were fun.
- 1:02:03Speaker 2: Oh, there was so much fun. And I'm just, I'm
- 1:02:06Speaker 2: thankful to her because she let, she agreed that we
- 1:02:09Speaker 2: needed to do the spinny. So yeah, Just go look
- 1:02:13Speaker 2: up Coconut Boats. There's a couple videos on it online,
- 1:02:17Speaker 2: but we got that bad boy spinning, and it was
- 1:02:20Speaker 2: a blast. It was amazing.
- 1:02:21Speaker 4: I really liked when there was a few meals.
- 1:02:25Speaker 5: Although you really do get sick of Gangnam Style.
- 1:02:28Speaker 4: Yes, they were playing Gangnam Style on loop, which was interesting.
- 1:02:32Speaker 4: I was like, you're going to be Korean? But sure.
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: That's like right next door.
- 1:02:39Speaker 5: Americans like it.
- 1:02:41Speaker 4: Yeah, there you go. Americans like it. The whole world
- 1:02:45Speaker 4: likes it. This is the first video to hit a
- 1:02:47Speaker 4: billion views on YouTube, right? I think. I think that's right.
- 1:02:50Speaker 2: Okay.
- 1:02:52Speaker 4: Or I made that up. But what I didn't make
- 1:02:54Speaker 4: up was.
- 1:02:55Speaker 2: So our.
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: Flight got to.
- 1:03:01Speaker 4: Uh, Danong, like way before most of the other times
- 1:03:05Speaker 4: we were leaving about the same time, their flight was
- 1:03:07Speaker 4: delayed so much. So we were, I'm like, we're going.
- 1:03:10Speaker 4: So we just went to this noodle place, Nudo. Uh, uh,
- 1:03:17Speaker 4: that was amazing.
- 1:03:19Speaker 5: Uh, I, the best food I think I had the
- 1:03:22Speaker 5: whole time.
- 1:03:23Speaker 4: It was delicious. It was so good. The, uh, And
- 1:03:28Speaker 4: we got the, you know, the young coconuts to drink
- 1:03:32Speaker 4: out of, which, you know, then JJ tore up at
- 1:03:34Speaker 4: the table. So you get the coconut meat. But that
- 1:03:39Speaker 4: chef was a had one like I'm going to get
- 1:03:46Speaker 4: the name wrong, like top chef Vietnam or something, whatever the,
- 1:03:50Speaker 4: you know, some food channel, Vietnam, something or other. And
- 1:03:54Speaker 4: it was it was delicious. So I was, uh, that
- 1:04:01Speaker 4: was really good. I had a cool coffee place. That
- 1:04:04Speaker 4: was awesome.
- 1:04:05Speaker 2: Yeah. Well, again, it had all the trees and there
- 1:04:08Speaker 2: was water and misting and like, we did go back
- 1:04:10Speaker 2: there at the very, very end, but man, that was
- 1:04:13Speaker 2: a neat experience. I think even for the big city,
- 1:04:16Speaker 2: how much greenery there was, was just impressive. Um, for
- 1:04:20Speaker 2: those of us who weren't on that flight, um, yeah.
- 1:04:27Speaker 2: for those of us who weren't on the flight, uh,
- 1:04:29Speaker 2: we made the best of a really rough situation and
- 1:04:32Speaker 2: that our flight was delayed. So we had a meal
- 1:04:35Speaker 2: and then we started as good key forgers do. We
- 1:04:38Speaker 2: started playing key forge. So we play key forge. We've also, uh,
- 1:04:42Speaker 2: not tonight had to up, which is a little card game, uh,
- 1:04:45Speaker 2: that we got a chance to be able to play.
- 1:04:47Speaker 2: And so that's what you do. If you're with key forgers, um,
- 1:04:51Speaker 2: play key forge more and more and more key forge,
- 1:04:53Speaker 2: which was pretty neat. Um, Outside of that, I will
- 1:04:56Speaker 2: say I really, really enjoyed going parasailing. So we went
- 1:05:00Speaker 2: to the mountains and beach one day and that was
- 1:05:06Speaker 2: that was a bucket list item. And just to see
- 1:05:09Speaker 2: the tall skyscrapers that were kind of in the background
- 1:05:11Speaker 2: with the mountains as well coming back. I, it's very
- 1:05:16Speaker 2: abnormal for me. I almost always read everything for fine
- 1:05:19Speaker 2: prints and I understand exactly what I'm doing. And here,
- 1:05:24Speaker 2: here I took a photo of it because it was comical. One,
- 1:05:27Speaker 2: the sheets that she signed were different from the sheets
- 1:05:30Speaker 2: that I signed. And they were in Vietnamese and I
- 1:05:34Speaker 2: could not read it. And Google Translate was not working
- 1:05:37Speaker 2: for it. So you signed and you moved on with life,
- 1:05:40Speaker 2: but it was a wonderful, wonderful experience. And I did
- 1:05:43Speaker 2: not die. So all is good.
- 1:05:45Speaker 4: That's good.
- 1:05:46Speaker 5: He did look like a dead fish in the air.
- 1:05:49Speaker 2: That's what you're supposed to do as you take off.
- 1:05:51Speaker 2: They tell you to run to take off. What are
- 1:05:53Speaker 2: you supposed to do? You're just supposed to like jump
- 1:05:55Speaker 2: up and down? No, it's hanging. You're basically in a harness.
- 1:05:58Speaker 2: And so you just kind of take it and let
- 1:06:01Speaker 2: it let. Yeah, you're a dead fish, but you're letting
- 1:06:03Speaker 2: it go ahead and coast you around and you're just floating.
- 1:06:07Speaker 2: It's great.
- 1:06:07Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, that was cool. I would have liked. More
- 1:06:15Speaker 5: time up in the hills. That was rough.
- 1:06:19Speaker 4: Yeah, we did. The spot we went was cool.
- 1:06:23Speaker 2: The old gatehouse was cool.
- 1:06:28Speaker 5: When we went up to.
- 1:06:29Speaker 2: The mountains where it was raining.
- 1:06:32Speaker 5: Whatever it was. We got to wander through the trees
- 1:06:35Speaker 5: and some of us made it halfway up the mountain.
- 1:06:38Speaker 5: A few people made it all the way to the top,
- 1:06:41Speaker 5: but everybody was kind of worried about time.
- 1:06:44Speaker 6: There just was not a lot of time there.
- 1:06:50Speaker 2: There was a lot that Riku and Bamboo had actually
- 1:06:53Speaker 2: planned for us to do. There wasn't a ton of downtime.
- 1:06:58Speaker 2: Which is really nice, but yes, you missed out on
- 1:07:00Speaker 2: some downtime.
- 1:07:04Speaker 4: Yeah, there was definitely... Yeah, you know, like any group
- 1:07:10Speaker 4: on a tour, there was some let's move, let's go, go, go.
- 1:07:13Speaker 4: But we saw lots of cool stuff. We did keep
- 1:07:16Speaker 4: stopping everywhere we went for all the fresh fruit made
- 1:07:21Speaker 4: into fruit juice, and that was awesome. Just the number
- 1:07:25Speaker 4: of coconuts and the number of passion fruit juices. You'd
- 1:07:31Speaker 4: get fresh squeezed passion fruit juice, like a 16-ounce cup
- 1:07:36Speaker 4: for like basically a buck 50 effectively. That'd be like,
- 1:07:41Speaker 4: that'd be like 1199 in the U S for, for that.
- 1:07:46Speaker 4: Like it was, uh, um, for that much, it was, uh,
- 1:07:51Speaker 4: it was awesome. And the fresh pressed, uh, sugar cane
- 1:07:55Speaker 4: juice that, that came up to like 80 cents. Uh,
- 1:07:59Speaker 4: it was, uh, it was so good. And we stopped
- 1:08:01Speaker 4: at so many places and just, Oh yeah, give me
- 1:08:04Speaker 4: this juice. Give me that juice. It was, it was awesome.
- 1:08:07Speaker 2: I'm dashing my, my chin as I'm drooling here. Passion fruit.
- 1:08:12Speaker 2: I miss it. I miss it. It was so delicious.
- 1:08:15Speaker 2: The other thing that I missed is that my ghosting
- 1:08:18Speaker 2: experience for pottery village. So thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
- 1:08:23Speaker 4: Thank you.
- 1:08:23Speaker 2: It was amazing.
- 1:08:26Speaker 4: Yeah, we got to make pottery, which was fun. We
- 1:08:30Speaker 4: walked around like a little museum situation. Oh, so there
- 1:08:33Speaker 4: was this group of school children, like kindergarten age school children.
- 1:08:41Speaker 4: And they, what, you think they were older?
- 1:08:45Speaker 2: No, no, they were definitely, yeah, because Barry and I
- 1:08:48Speaker 2: are both, we're both in elementary schools. They were definitely
- 1:08:52Speaker 2: little kids. If they were not first or second graders, like,
- 1:08:55Speaker 2: They look smaller than my kids. So I'm guessing they
- 1:08:58Speaker 2: were kindergarten or yeah. Kindergarten or first graders.
- 1:09:01Speaker 4: So they see us, right. And you know, these giant
- 1:09:06Speaker 4: foreigners and, uh, it's meant and I are pretty tall.
- 1:09:10Speaker 4: And so they were like, take a picture. So the
- 1:09:14Speaker 4: teachers made us, made us, they're like, would you take
- 1:09:18Speaker 4: a picture with our school children? So, so yeah, there's
- 1:09:22Speaker 4: pictures of us with all these little children. We're like
- 1:09:26Speaker 4: kneeling down, still towering over them. And, uh, you know,
- 1:09:32Speaker 4: we've got a bunch of kids here making the victory
- 1:09:35Speaker 4: sign with us at night. Uh, some of the kids
- 1:09:38Speaker 4: shoving fingers in their mouths. No one's picking their ear. Uh,
- 1:09:42Speaker 4: this one's just staring at the camera. It's pretty cute.
- 1:09:45Speaker 4: It's pretty good.
- 1:09:46Speaker 2: That's normal little kids, man. That is so normal for
- 1:09:49Speaker 2: any school. They're also brutally honest too, which was really,
- 1:09:53Speaker 2: really rough. But I will say what we went to
- 1:09:55Speaker 2: the night market. I am an, I'm a medium here
- 1:09:59Speaker 2: in the States. I was an extra large over in Vietnam. Yeah,
- 1:10:04Speaker 2: size is a little different depending on where you are.
- 1:10:07Speaker 4: Oh, I almost forgot. Except for Wookie, right?
- 1:10:10Speaker 2: Because, so.
- 1:10:13Speaker 4: So one thing that happened on, I think it was
- 1:10:15Speaker 4: Sunday morning, was Sydney shows up for breakfast and she's
- 1:10:20Speaker 4: wearing a pink AC team jersey. Is it yours? I
- 1:10:29Speaker 4: don't want to know. That's interesting. And she turns around
- 1:10:32Speaker 4: and it says Draskor. And I'm like, wait a second.
- 1:10:36Speaker 4: This is the child's large that you had purchased me
- 1:10:39Speaker 4: from the adult large that I had ordered for the
- 1:10:44Speaker 4: pink jerseys. And so she was wearing that. And so
- 1:10:47Speaker 4: we have a couple pictures of that.
- 1:10:50Speaker 2: Did you not see that when she top aided, she
- 1:10:54Speaker 2: was still wearing that?
- 1:10:56Speaker 4: I thought, didn't she throw her.
- 1:10:59Speaker 2: Nope, nope. She's wearing the AC.
- 1:11:01Speaker 4: You're just rocking that? Okay.
- 1:11:03Speaker 5: It was great.
- 1:11:04Speaker 4: I thought maybe she had put it on over and
- 1:11:06Speaker 4: then took it off. I don't know.
- 1:11:08Speaker 1: So technically, Jurassic Core top aided. Is that what I'm hearing?
- 1:11:11Speaker 4: There you go. We'll go with that.
- 1:11:12Speaker 1: We're going with the name on the back of the jersey?
- 1:11:15Speaker 4: Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:11:16Speaker 2: So.
- 1:11:17Speaker 4: All right. I'll throw these in the chat for everybody
- 1:11:21Speaker 4: listening here.
- 1:11:22Speaker 2: I mean, I guess we've already gone past this, but
- 1:11:24Speaker 2: for top aid, shout out to Emperor Riku and Sartonin, who...
- 1:11:29Speaker 2: Riku won, and then Serotonin was runner-up, so both qualified
- 1:11:32Speaker 2: for Archon and for Worlds. Top four, while you're doing that,
- 1:11:40Speaker 2: Deong and Isfet top fouring. Isfet on Amber Skies, and
- 1:11:45Speaker 2: then Liquid Squash, Omegang, myself, and Willy all on PV.
- 1:11:51Speaker 2: Liquid Squash was on GR, so actually at Vietnam, we
- 1:11:54Speaker 2: had Amber Skies and GR represented, which was pretty cool.
- 1:12:00Speaker 2: Outside of that, Old Town was pretty crazy to be
- 1:12:02Speaker 2: able to see. And I will say, Sheep, I missed
- 1:12:07Speaker 2: you for one thing. I made another. I was making decisions.
- 1:12:12Speaker 2: There were a number of games of Key Forge just
- 1:12:14Speaker 2: played at night. People were hanging out in the pool.
- 1:12:17Speaker 2: But one night, made a choice to drive in Vietnam
- 1:12:23Speaker 2: on a moped.
- 1:12:24Speaker 4: And leave me.
- 1:12:27Speaker 2: I did not know you were coming. I would have waited.
- 1:12:30Speaker 2: We probably would have actually taken the safe route, and
- 1:12:32Speaker 2: knowing it rained later, that would have been a much
- 1:12:34Speaker 2: safer decision. But I can now say I've driven in Vietnam.
- 1:12:42Speaker 4: So you guys come down, and it's you and Squash,
- 1:12:48Speaker 4: and wasn't it Elimek? Is that right?
- 1:12:50Speaker 2: Yes.
- 1:12:52Speaker 4: Yeah yeah so so i'm just hanging out like um
- 1:12:56Speaker 4: like sitting not in the pool but next to the
- 1:12:59Speaker 4: pool and you guys like oh we're going we're going
- 1:13:01Speaker 4: to town going drinking i'm like that sounds amazing and
- 1:13:05Speaker 4: uh Then you guys hop on your bikes and zip off.
- 1:13:09Speaker 4: I was like, oh.
- 1:13:12Speaker 5: That doesn't include me.
- 1:13:14Speaker 4: And then I asked the guys in the pool. They're like,
- 1:13:17Speaker 4: we're in the pool. We don't want to go. Sheep,
- 1:13:20Speaker 4: you had your son. I was like, all right. And
- 1:13:22Speaker 4: I could have gone upstairs and tried to nudge my
- 1:13:28Speaker 4: wife into going, which she might have done. She was
- 1:13:32Speaker 4: still awake. She was upstairs. But then they were like, hey,
- 1:13:38Speaker 4: we're going to crack some Geotag Vietnam decks and play
- 1:13:44Speaker 4: the M26 sealed. And I was like, well, I'll just
- 1:13:48Speaker 4: do that. So I ended up doing that. a little
- 1:13:55Speaker 4: bit wish I had I had tons of fun so
- 1:13:58Speaker 4: you know it's like one of these things where it's
- 1:13:59Speaker 4: like you want to do everything so it wasn't like
- 1:14:02Speaker 4: a bad time or anything like that but you know
- 1:14:05Speaker 4: a little bit I was like oh I wish I
- 1:14:06Speaker 4: had gone out there was a couple spots in Hoi
- 1:14:08Speaker 4: An that I would have liked to have checked out
- 1:14:11Speaker 4: from a bar situation but you know we saw tons
- 1:14:17Speaker 4: of cool stuff and ate tons of good food in
- 1:14:19Speaker 4: Hoi An and Da Nang so I can't.
- 1:14:22Speaker 2: Really complain Well, I'll say the first.
- 1:14:24Speaker 4: Tell us what happened on your motorbike adventure.
- 1:14:27Speaker 2: So on the motorbike adventure, following ISFET as we're going through.
- 1:14:33Speaker 2: And unlike America, where we have a stop sign or
- 1:14:36Speaker 2: a yield sign or a stoplight, for the most part
- 1:14:42Speaker 2: in Vietnam, if you're going faster, you just go around
- 1:14:46Speaker 2: the person. And if you're turning right, you turn right.
- 1:14:49Speaker 2: If you're turning left, you just turn left. and kind
- 1:14:54Speaker 2: of decide to go through. But the most terrifying thing
- 1:14:57Speaker 2: is that if you're going to go through an intersection,
- 1:14:59Speaker 2: you just honk your horn as you're going through. Overall,
- 1:15:04Speaker 2: it's not terrible because the speed limit, like the actual
- 1:15:08Speaker 2: speed that mopeds are going is slower. But we get there.
- 1:15:18Speaker 2: I'm happy that we made it safe. I had squash
- 1:15:21Speaker 2: on the back. Isven and Ellie Mack had gone before.
- 1:15:25Speaker 2: They were right in front of us. We went to
- 1:15:27Speaker 2: Heart of Darkness in Da Nang. Now, we had done
- 1:15:29Speaker 2: Heart of Darkness back in Ho Chi Minh. And Heart
- 1:15:34Speaker 2: of Darkness was really, really good. So I was pumped
- 1:15:36Speaker 2: and excited.
- 1:15:37Speaker 4: Yeah, it was cool. Yeah.
- 1:15:39Speaker 2: And it was a very different experience than Da Nang.
- 1:15:41Speaker 2: They're like, ah, yeah, we're out of all the beer.
- 1:15:45Speaker 2: You can try these two. And I just wanted to see.
- 1:15:50Speaker 2: The beer that we had had, Sheep, at the very
- 1:15:52Speaker 2: end that was actually really, really good, which has won
- 1:15:54Speaker 2: all the awards, that was what was on. I'm like,
- 1:15:56Speaker 2: all right, I'll just take a pint of that. And
- 1:15:58Speaker 2: I got it. It tasted literally nothing like what we had.
- 1:16:02Speaker 2: And I'm like, I don't even know how that was
- 1:16:05Speaker 2: considered the same beer. So we finish. And then we
- 1:16:08Speaker 2: were going to go over by... Squash had found a
- 1:16:13Speaker 2: really cool Drazgor bar. And that's where he took us to.
- 1:16:17Speaker 2: So we wandered over. Um, we're by all the Vietnamese police, like, okay, uh,
- 1:16:24Speaker 2: just keep walking. And we walk in this little alley
- 1:16:28Speaker 2: and then up a set of stairs. And it was
- 1:16:30Speaker 2: just a really neat, chill, really cool bar. Um, so
- 1:16:35Speaker 2: we had a great time there. Um, I did after
- 1:16:40Speaker 2: the second one, because I was driving, I went with
- 1:16:42Speaker 2: a mocktail. Um, so I, I had one. And then
- 1:16:47Speaker 2: there was a shot. And so I'm like, no, no, no,
- 1:16:49Speaker 2: I got to drive. We got to get back. And
- 1:16:52Speaker 2: so it was a wonderful experience. I would definitely go
- 1:16:56Speaker 2: back to that bar by itself. So really, really neat.
- 1:17:00Speaker 2: And like the owner talked to us afterwards on the
- 1:17:02Speaker 2: way out. But on the way back, we now have
- 1:17:06Speaker 2: to drive in the dark and it starts to rain.
- 1:17:10Speaker 2: And so that was an experience. I'm happy that I drove...
- 1:17:17Speaker 2: the moped. Um, but I don't know if I would
- 1:17:22Speaker 2: go back. I think I would just probably grab a,
- 1:17:25Speaker 2: a grab and grab a grab and have a quick ride.
- 1:17:29Speaker 2: But I love to say that I've done it once
- 1:17:33Speaker 2: and it was, it was, it was a memorable experience
- 1:17:35Speaker 2: that I will never in my life forget. So that
- 1:17:38Speaker 2: was cool.
- 1:17:39Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:17:39Speaker 4: The, um, the one thing I did, I zipped that
- 1:17:45Speaker 4: next morning. I, hustled over into town early in the
- 1:17:51Speaker 4: morning because that was the last night we were heading
- 1:17:54Speaker 4: back to Richmond the next morning but I had ordered
- 1:18:01Speaker 4: speaking of things are cheap I had ordered prescription sunglasses
- 1:18:08Speaker 4: and you can get high quality prescription glasses and sunglasses
- 1:18:15Speaker 4: with name brand frames and whatnot for super cheap. Cause
- 1:18:20Speaker 4: like the factories are there, like you can get like
- 1:18:23Speaker 4: Oakley's for without insurance under a hundred dollars.
- 1:18:26Speaker 2: Right.
- 1:18:28Speaker 4: And, uh, and so I was like, I'm gonna score
- 1:18:32Speaker 4: myself some sunglasses. I thought about getting some prescript, like
- 1:18:35Speaker 4: my regular prescription glasses, but I was like, ah, you know,
- 1:18:38Speaker 4: I don't know. Like, I feel like lower risk for,
- 1:18:41Speaker 4: for getting, uh, prescription sunglasses. Well, so I had to
- 1:18:45Speaker 4: run back from town that morning, pick them up and
- 1:18:48Speaker 4: they're like, awesome. I was like, damn, I should have,
- 1:18:50Speaker 4: I should have got also regular glasses, um, and, uh,
- 1:18:55Speaker 4: under a hundred bucks for, for these things. And, uh, they,
- 1:18:59Speaker 4: they're like, they're great. And, uh, and then I, uh, um,
- 1:19:06Speaker 4: ended up taking a grab back but i walked through
- 1:19:09Speaker 4: some of the more local area and it was really
- 1:19:12Speaker 4: interesting to as we moved away from the villa that
- 1:19:15Speaker 4: we got which was a super awesome place by the
- 1:19:17Speaker 4: way that so thank you riku and bamboo for for
- 1:19:21Speaker 4: finding that spot it was awesome um and this sort
- 1:19:24Speaker 4: of went through like the local area so like the
- 1:19:26Speaker 4: price of coffee was like effectively like you know 230
- 1:19:32Speaker 4: two dollars and 30 cents like right next to the
- 1:19:33Speaker 4: villa and then i went to like the local area
- 1:19:35Speaker 4: it's like suddenly coffee's like 80 cents and then slowly
- 1:19:39Speaker 4: ticks back up uh all the way back up to
- 1:19:41Speaker 4: like you know getting closer to three dollars by the
- 1:19:44Speaker 4: time we get into super touristy but um uh you
- 1:19:49Speaker 4: know so i had to stop and get coffee at
- 1:19:50Speaker 4: multiple places along the way because uh Apparently all I
- 1:19:55Speaker 4: do in Vietnam is drink coffee everywhere I go, drink
- 1:19:59Speaker 4: fruit juice, have amazing seafood. By the way, I think
- 1:20:05Speaker 4: I had the best shrimp I've ever had in my
- 1:20:08Speaker 4: life in Vietnam. Normally I don't think of shrimp as
- 1:20:14Speaker 4: amazing seafood, but it was so good. It was so good.
- 1:20:21Speaker 4: But it was big.
- 1:20:23Speaker 2: Delicious.
- 1:20:24Speaker 4: I'm getting hungry. I'm salivating just talking about this stuff.
- 1:20:31Speaker 4: The trip was amazing. All the places we went were awesome.
- 1:20:36Speaker 4: The durian adventures were awesome. Thank you, JJ. JJ kept
- 1:20:41Speaker 4: taking us through different iterations of finding durian. If you
- 1:20:47Speaker 4: don't know what a durian is, it's this Don't.
- 1:20:50Speaker 1: It's a disgusting fruit that smells like feet and cheese.
- 1:20:56Speaker 4: Yeah, that's right. And day-old chicken.
- 1:20:58Speaker 1: That I can't attest to.
- 1:21:02Speaker 5: I get body odor.
- 1:21:04Speaker 4: It's pretty bad. In fact, at the hotel where we
- 1:21:08Speaker 4: stayed initially, we had to sign that we would not
- 1:21:11Speaker 4: smoke in the room, and we would not bring durian
- 1:21:14Speaker 4: into the room. So those are the two things we
- 1:21:18Speaker 4: had to attest to. So, but, like, the first place
- 1:21:22Speaker 4: we had it was... It was.
- 1:21:26Speaker 5: The Cocoa Cafe thing?
- 1:21:28Speaker 4: Yeah, it was not great. It's never great. It's durian.
- 1:21:32Speaker 2: What are you.
- 1:21:33Speaker 4: Yeah. Well, the second place it was smothered in, like,
- 1:21:37Speaker 4: coconut milk. So it was, like, kind of sweet.
- 1:21:40Speaker 5: That's the first place I experienced it.
- 1:21:43Speaker 4: Well, that was the second one. Like, JJ had already...
- 1:21:46Speaker 4: gotten it from somewhere else and we tried it, but
- 1:21:49Speaker 4: it was, I don't think it was quite as fresh.
- 1:21:52Speaker 4: It was pretty rough. I thought it smelled pretty bad.
- 1:21:55Speaker 4: The taste was like masked. Uh, the coconut thing was
- 1:21:58Speaker 4: a little better. Like you smelt it, but then like
- 1:22:00Speaker 4: when you tasted it, it was like, there's so much
- 1:22:02Speaker 4: sweetness from the coconut milk. It, it masked it a
- 1:22:05Speaker 4: little bit. But then, uh, when, uh, finally, when we
- 1:22:11Speaker 4: went to that night market, the other dragon bridge in Danone, uh, Uh,
- 1:22:15Speaker 4: he got it like fresh, like cut up on the
- 1:22:19Speaker 4: street by like a, a street vendor. And, uh, we
- 1:22:23Speaker 4: tried it there and it was actually not bad.
- 1:22:27Speaker 5: It was not bad. And everybody plastic gloves to wear
- 1:22:31Speaker 5: while you eat it.
- 1:22:32Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:22:33Speaker 2: Well, not only did they give, well, not only did
- 1:22:36Speaker 2: you give plastic gloves, but as you guys were leaving,
- 1:22:39Speaker 2: you were trying to put the plastic gloves like in
- 1:22:41Speaker 2: the trash and, And the local vendors where you're dropping
- 1:22:43Speaker 2: off is like, nope, not here. And they're trying to
- 1:22:45Speaker 2: point you away. You can't even leave the plastic gloves
- 1:22:48Speaker 2: with them. Nope, that stinks too much. Take it away.
- 1:22:52Speaker 2: Not here.
- 1:22:53Speaker 4: Go buy those other vendors over there.
- 1:22:56Speaker 2: You got that from this vendor?
- 1:22:57Speaker 4: Not here.
- 1:22:57Speaker 2: Do not bring that here.
- 1:23:01Speaker 4: Cheap?
- 1:23:03Speaker 2: I think your favorite had to be the massages.
- 1:23:09Speaker 5: Massage pilers are are like bars in Wisconsin. Every third
- 1:23:18Speaker 5: door is a massage parlor. But then you got to
- 1:23:22Speaker 5: read the code, right? Because if it says spa, it
- 1:23:25Speaker 5: probably actually offers massage. And if it's in red and
- 1:23:28Speaker 5: says massage or VIP, it's probably a brothel.
- 1:23:33Speaker 4: Oh.
- 1:23:34Speaker 5: At least, you know, that's the guidance we were given.
- 1:23:37Speaker 4: Well, there was definitely some nights where we went down
- 1:23:41Speaker 4: these side streets and explored these little alley situations, and
- 1:23:45Speaker 4: then we're kind of swarmed by these women. It's like, yeah. Alright.
- 1:23:51Speaker 4: See what's going on here.
- 1:23:55Speaker 5: They took us to Old City, which was like a
- 1:24:01Speaker 5: nicer version of the giant market that we'd already seen
- 1:24:05Speaker 5: in Ho Chi Minh City. similar to the night market
- 1:24:08Speaker 5: too just nicer right because it's all independent buildings and
- 1:24:11Speaker 5: there's definitely more upscale stuff at old city but at
- 1:24:16Speaker 5: the same time like i don't know mike and i
- 1:24:18Speaker 5: were not there to buy physical things so it wasn't
- 1:24:23Speaker 5: that interesting to us and it was hot i mean
- 1:24:27Speaker 5: it's like proper hot all the time so we're just
- 1:24:29Speaker 5: like like The first decent looking massage place we walked by, like,
- 1:24:34Speaker 5: let's just go there. And it's like hour long foot
- 1:24:36Speaker 5: leg massages. And they're like $ 20 a piece. Sitting in
- 1:24:41Speaker 5: the AC, giving you drinks, giving you snacks. It was
- 1:24:47Speaker 5: very nice. The massages are very, very affordable.
- 1:24:53Speaker 1: How are the hookers?
- 1:24:55Speaker 5: I don't know. X-Ray didn't come.
- 1:25:00Speaker 1: Damn it. You guys really dropped the ball on this one.
- 1:25:07Speaker 5: I had my 13-year-old with me.
- 1:25:10Speaker 1: This was a total X-Ray. We could have gotten the
- 1:25:15Speaker 1: ins if you guys just would have brought X-Ray.
- 1:25:19Speaker 5: We didn't. We were all well-behaved individuals.
- 1:25:24Speaker 1: Oh, man.
- 1:25:26Speaker 4: Man, that's who we should have convinced to come.
- 1:25:28Speaker 1: He, like, He likes just looking. I don't know.
- 1:25:33Speaker 5: If there is any booby clubs.
- 1:25:36Speaker 1: I'm sure there is, right?
- 1:25:38Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 1:25:39Speaker 4: It's just not.
- 1:25:41Speaker 5: Something many of us were looking for.
- 1:25:48Speaker 4: Really, I.
- 1:25:50Speaker 5: Enjoyed the trip. I didn't like the seafood as much
- 1:25:52Speaker 5: as you guys did.
- 1:25:54Speaker 4: Oh, so good, dude.
- 1:25:55Speaker 5: I don't really like seafood.
- 1:25:56Speaker 4: Well, I don't know what you ate on the trip
- 1:25:58Speaker 4: then because.
- 1:25:59Speaker 6: Believe me, there were a few stops where I was like,
- 1:26:02Speaker 6: this is disappointing.
- 1:26:03Speaker 5: Because some of that seafood smelled like it would make
- 1:26:05Speaker 5: me vomit. So I'm sure it would have.
- 1:26:08Speaker 4: The only seafood thing that... was good and not amazing
- 1:26:14Speaker 4: was so like when they were, we went to the
- 1:26:16Speaker 4: villa and they were, um, like grilling all the food
- 1:26:19Speaker 4: and they were like, Oh, this area is like not cooked.
- 1:26:22Speaker 4: This area is cooked, whatever. First of all, that confused
- 1:26:24Speaker 4: some folks. Very, uh, yeah. Uh, it was confusing. So
- 1:26:31Speaker 4: to be fair to Barry. So, uh, but, um, the
- 1:26:35Speaker 4: oysters were there. We're like, oh, they're oysters. And we
- 1:26:37Speaker 4: like start grabbing them. They're like, what are you doing? Like,
- 1:26:39Speaker 4: you can't eat these. They're not cooked yet. We're like,
- 1:26:42Speaker 4: you're going to cook the oysters. And it was definitely
- 1:26:45Speaker 4: like the, you know, Riku, the other Vietnamese, they were
- 1:26:49Speaker 4: like looking at us like we were crazy. They were like, yeah, yeah.
- 1:26:52Speaker 4: Like I agree. You don't cook these. Yeah. You don't
- 1:26:55Speaker 4: cook these in the U S generally. They're like, you
- 1:26:57Speaker 4: will get sick. It was like, well, all right, I'll
- 1:26:59Speaker 4: put it back then. If that's, if that's, If that's
- 1:27:02Speaker 4: what you think, I'm going to trust you.
- 1:27:04Speaker 5: No, I've tried a bunch of the seafood, and some
- 1:27:06Speaker 5: of it was okay, but it was just not... Like
- 1:27:09Speaker 5: I said, I'm seafood sensitive, so I don't engage in
- 1:27:13Speaker 5: a lot of it. And there was... so much of
- 1:27:16Speaker 5: the rotten sea bugs being served everywhere.
- 1:27:19Speaker 1: All right, guys, we are at the hour and 30 mark. What,
- 1:27:23Speaker 1: what we got left to say about Vietnam? It's been
- 1:27:27Speaker 1: too long.
- 1:27:28Speaker 5: But I went, I went on the GLP one shot.
- 1:27:31Speaker 5: So like my ability to consume quantities of stuff is
- 1:27:35Speaker 5: really low. So like Drasker is talking about this, like
- 1:27:37Speaker 5: every 50 feet, he's getting new coffee. And I'm at
- 1:27:40Speaker 5: this point right now where I'm like, I drink one
- 1:27:42Speaker 5: coffee in the morning. I have like, seven bites of
- 1:27:45Speaker 5: something for lunch, and similar for dinner, and then I'm
- 1:27:48Speaker 5: so full I can't do it. So it's just like
- 1:27:50Speaker 5: all this stuff, I'm like, I want to try it,
- 1:27:51Speaker 5: but I can't.
- 1:27:53Speaker 1: Sounds like you picked the wrong time to go on
- 1:27:55Speaker 1: the shot, unfortunately.
- 1:27:56Speaker 5: Oh, yeah, right?
- 1:27:57Speaker 2: We enjoyed it all for him.
- 1:27:59Speaker 5: That was not the awesome thing to be on while
- 1:28:03Speaker 5: touring a place where the food is often very good
- 1:28:06Speaker 5: and very affordable, and the coffee was really, really good.
- 1:28:11Speaker 4: Mm-hmm, mm-hmm. I'll say finally, just thank you, Riku and Bamboo,
- 1:28:17Speaker 4: for inviting all of us and encouraging us to come
- 1:28:20Speaker 4: and then taking us around. And it was just such
- 1:28:25Speaker 4: an amazing experience that I will remember forever. It was awesome.
- 1:28:31Speaker 4: It was really, really cool. Thank you. You guys are awesome.
- 1:28:35Speaker 4: uh let me know anytime you want to slum it
- 1:28:37Speaker 4: in philadelphia uh i'll take you around show you some
- 1:28:41Speaker 4: cracked bells you know all that i.
- 1:28:45Speaker 2: I second it from the space that we were at
- 1:28:48Speaker 2: to the flight to just being with all the forge
- 1:28:51Speaker 2: players it was an amazing experience it was well organized
- 1:28:54Speaker 2: and run And I'm also shout out to the help
- 1:28:57Speaker 2: from future self group and specifically Sydney without access to
- 1:29:01Speaker 2: be able to win one of the competitions. I don't
- 1:29:04Speaker 2: know if I would have been able to go. So
- 1:29:05Speaker 2: it was definitely a trip of a lifetime and I
- 1:29:07Speaker 2: thank you for it.
- 1:29:12Speaker 4: Alrighty.
- 1:29:12Speaker 1: And with that being said, we will see everybody next week.
- 1:29:19Speaker 4: Everybody.
- 1:29:19Speaker 2: Jesus. May the forge be with you. He's a Lord
- 1:29:25Speaker 2: and savior.
- 1:29:26Speaker 1: He is really, I were, Oh boy. More nicknames in
- 1:29:30Speaker 1: next week.
- 1:29:32Speaker 4: Okay.
- 1:29:47Speaker 2: Just look good, look good, break bad, laugh loud, crash fast.
- 1:29:52Speaker 5: Hold tight, don't ask, I'm fine, I'm cracked
- 1:29:56Speaker 2: Look good, break bad, laugh loud, crash fast.
