- 0:00Happy Thursday morning, everybody.
- 0:05We're going to go back to saying that, you know what happens is
- 0:10Coffee with Kenny became successful on its own.
- 0:17And then when it became successful, I had people telling
- 0:20me, get to the point, shorten your stories up.
- 0:26So I tried it and now I have people saying, Kenny, we miss
- 0:31you saying happy Thursday morning, everybody.
- 0:38So we tried a couple things and I would get right to the story.
- 0:43Just like the man that owns a Rocket Chassis over there in
- 0:47Virginia or West Virginia. I know not to mess with both of
- 0:52those. You either say Virginia or West
- 0:54Virginia. Don't, don't leave them out.
- 0:57They still fight in the Civil War.
- 0:59Mark Richards. Mark Richards said to me not
- 1:03long ago, maybe a couple months ago.
- 1:04He goes, Herman, don't change what you're doing.
- 1:06That's why you're where you're at.
- 1:11So coffee with Kenny. We're not going to change it
- 1:15because a couple people want me to hurry up and get right to the
- 1:18point at 8:00 in the morning, 8:00 in the morning, and you
- 1:23want me to hurry up. That's why I'm drinking coffee
- 1:28is to wake up. So happy Thursday morning,
- 1:31everybody. All right, today's subject
- 1:35matter is NASCAR. Now, what I'm going to say today
- 1:40is going to be dead ass neutral and I'm not being mean to
- 1:44anybody one way or the other. But I called this, I said this.
- 1:49I'm not pat myself on the back. And I think it's very sad.
- 1:54I want to make sure everybody understands that.
- 1:55I think what I'm going to say today is sad capital, SAD
- 2:03because of everybody's ego. You know, we've opened up NASCAR
- 2:09has opened up its own Pandora's box.
- 2:13Did you know what Pandora's box means?
- 2:16If you Google it, it's a mythical like Greek, Roman
- 2:22mythology. It means if if you open up all
- 2:26the, you know, bad things will happen.
- 2:31That's one reason you never let anybody know what kind of salary
- 2:37money. They always say don't talk about
- 2:41money or religion because that's what drives people crazy.
- 2:47So here we are. NASCAR opened up its own
- 2:52Pandora's box. Will, will it, Will it
- 2:55throughout? Will it create evil?
- 2:57And will it, will it be bad? So yesterday evening, late,
- 3:02maybe after six O clock in the evening, NASCAR opened up its
- 3:06own Pandora's box. So we're going to put the old
- 3:12coffee mug down. I printed it off.
- 3:16Here it is. Let it speak for itself.
- 3:21NASCAR post 103 million profit in 2024.
- 3:31Here it is. NASCAR had to make a financial
- 3:34statement and that's what they were trying to try not to do for
- 3:41some reason. This this lawsuit has gone too
- 3:45far. And if you remember, the judge
- 3:47said y'all are going to burn the house down.
- 3:50They're still trying to solve this, but they're getting close
- 3:53to burning it down right now. So I'm going to read a little
- 3:59bit here. So NASCAR's financial statements
- 4:03released as part of an antitrust lawsuit.
- 4:07So here it all is. See there.
- 4:12OK. You, you don't have your glasses
- 4:15on, so you can't read it. Basically, I'm going to, I'm
- 4:21going to hit the highlight for you.
- 4:23I'm, I'm going to go right to where you want to know.
- 4:26Total revenue hit 1.7 billion, led by NASCAR received one point
- 4:36O 4 billion. From all the TV channels, they
- 4:41received one point O 4 billion in TV in that they call it
- 4:47meteorites from Fox, NBC and Amazon.
- 4:52While the expenses reached 1.6 billion, resulting in a 6%
- 4:58margin, basically saying that they made they made they they
- 5:05received 1.7 billion, but they spent 1.4 billion.
- 5:13Hey, I drove the cantaloupe truck in I didn't fall off of
- 5:19it. You you can write off anything
- 5:23you want. You can say it all.
- 5:24So good job NASCAR. You brought in 1.7 billion and
- 5:29you you spent 1.4 billion. Did you?
- 5:35OK, OK, Operating cash flow reach 257 million and a new
- 5:44media deal starts in 2025. We'll add 300 million annually.
- 5:50Now, remember what I said about Pandora's box?
- 5:54Now everybody's all over social media telling NASCAR what to do.
- 6:00Oh, by the way, by the way, hey, word, Word of the year, 6/7,
- 6:096-7. Hey, it's word of the word of
- 6:15the year. I see.
- 6:16And I, I took and I went to my grandbabies.
- 6:19Kim and I went to the grandbabies.
- 6:21You went to Mila and Lottie's. And we're sitting there and
- 6:25right next door in the lunchroom, this other class goes
- 6:27Kenny, Kenny, because I was the race car driver.
- 6:31It was so awesome. They said, do you know what 6-7
- 6:33is? And I went, yeah, 6-7.
- 6:35And the classroom went nuts. They went crazy to where the
- 6:41teacher had to get grab the microphone in the lunchroom.
- 6:44And and when they go crazy, they all got to put their hands in
- 6:47there and they go refocus. Refocus.
- 6:51I'm 62 years old. I got I got in trouble.
- 6:56Hey, Kenny, do you know what 6-7 means?
- 6:58Yeah, I do 6-7. So anyway, I heard that today is
- 7:07they said today is 6/7 is word of the year.
- 7:10I'm going to leave you with something very heavy.
- 7:14I'm going to leave you with something very heavy.
- 7:17I want to see if you listen. But you got to listen, right?
- 7:22You know Julius Caesar, Julius Caesar was a dictator of the
- 7:26Roman Empire and they they awarded him dictator.
- 7:35So in other words, the Roman Empire, they said, Julius, we
- 7:42award you as the leader, the dictator.
- 7:47That's the way they did. So he became the dictator and he
- 7:52ruled and everything was going good, even though he's a
- 7:56dictator. Now, see, I want to be clear.
- 7:58America has great rules from our forefathers.
- 8:02So America had great rules put in place.
- 8:06We don't believe in dictatorship here because our rules are so
- 8:10good. We don't need a dictatorship.
- 8:13We vote somebody in as our president every four years.
- 8:18So this is about NASCAR. Hang with me.
- 8:21So anyway, Julius Caesar became a dictator.
- 8:25They allowed it. He, he dictated the Roman Empire
- 8:29for 10 years. Well, right across from the
- 8:31Coliseum is the Roman Forum. That's kind of like their
- 8:35Washington, DC. So when you become a dictator,
- 8:39you start doing your own deal. And the Roman Forum, all the
- 8:44senators, they got together and they said we're going to kill,
- 8:46let's kill Julius Caesar because he's becoming too powerful.
- 8:51He's doing the wrong things. Let's kill him.
- 8:54So they stabbed him and they all got had blood on their hands and
- 8:57the rule was they all had to have a knife and they all had to
- 9:00stab him. So they killed Julius Caesar
- 9:06because they felt like he was getting too much power.
- 9:09That was it. Remember they voted him in.
- 9:12They said we want Julius to be the dictator. 10 years went by.
- 9:17They felt like he was doing some wrong things.
- 9:18Nothing real bad, just he was dictating too hard so they
- 9:23killed him. Now NASCAR was ruling and they
- 9:32were ruling hard and they opened up Pandora's box by giving these
- 9:37teams what they asked for. They gave them the charter
- 9:43system. And there's that old saying, be
- 9:46careful. You give them an inch, they take
- 9:48a mile. The rules were not in place
- 9:52properly at NASCAR for them to open this up and give them a
- 9:56charter. So the similarities between the
- 10:00Roman Empire and NASCAR are strikingly scary.
- 10:06So you see what happened. Here's the moral story.
- 10:11Not long after they killed Julius Caesar, the Roman Empire
- 10:16come falling down because they didn't have good rules in place.
- 10:21NASCAR had good rules in place, and then they ruined it by
- 10:26opening up a charter system. When you give somebody an inch,
- 10:30they take a mile. Now, hopefully things will turn
- 10:34out for the better, but right now this is not good because
- 10:41everybody in the industry does not like this.
- 10:46Respond right here. Did NASCAR mess up by giving out
- 10:50charters? I just gave you an example of
- 10:53the Roman Empire. Everything was going good.
- 10:56Everything was going good. And then when they killed Julius
- 10:59Caesar, that was the end of the Roman Empire.
- 11:01Not long after that, the Roman Empire come crumbling down.
- 11:07NASCAR was ruling and then they let somebody get in there and
- 11:11go, hey, you need to get you need to open this up.
- 11:13You need to give us some charters.
- 11:14Give us give it a Mitch. It'll take a mile.
- 11:20There's a song about that. And the walls come crumbling
- 11:24down. And the walls have a great
- 11:31Thursday.
