The winery was founded a long time ago by Luigi Sgarzi in the 1933, around its country house vineyards from which he was making wines for local restaurants then he started a cooperation with some wineries in Abruzzo and there comes the company name, Cantine Sgarzi Luigi (Cantine means wineries).
