- 0:01Speaker 1: This is Sparta! Once again, it's time. You've read the books.
- 0:07Speaker 2: Solving single.
- 0:08Speaker 1: Ho tactics.
- 0:09Speaker 2: And men don't love women like you.
- 0:11Speaker 3: Now listen to the only podcast that gives you a
- 0:14Speaker 3: brutally honest breakdown of dating and relationships.
- 0:17Speaker 4: This is GL Lambert Explains It All.
- 0:21Speaker 2: We got a good show today. We're going to get
- 0:24Speaker 2: to some Facebook questions. If you don't already follow the
- 0:26Speaker 2: Far From Basic Facebook page, do that ASAP.
- 0:50Speaker 3: Keep updated with what's going on, old material, new material,
- 0:53Speaker 3: weekly drops. Also, we have a big interview with a
- 0:57Speaker 3: woman who's single and happy, or is she? But first,
- 1:01Speaker 3: let's get into these questions. The first question is from
- 1:04Speaker 3: a young lady from Europe. Much love to the international Spartans.
- 1:08Speaker 3: She wrote, Dear G, how can I overcome a sense
- 1:12Speaker 3: of humiliation when other women clown me over stealing my
- 1:16Speaker 3: man or the men I'm dating? First off, no one
- 1:22Speaker 3: can take someone from you. A man makes the choice
- 1:26Speaker 3: to date you or date another girl. If he says
- 1:29Speaker 3: her personality is OK, but this one's more my speed,
- 1:33Speaker 3: he's going to go and do that.
- 1:35Speaker 1: It's not about.
- 1:36Speaker 3: Taking or a girl being a better option. It's about
- 1:39Speaker 3: the man believing that this woman can either be a
- 1:42Speaker 3: better fit for his personality or what he's looking for
- 1:45Speaker 3: in a relationship or be she could be something new
- 1:47Speaker 3: that he wants to hit. So don't get wrapped up
- 1:51Speaker 3: in she's better than me because she was able to
- 1:54Speaker 3: get a man that I really liked. If one woman's
- 1:57Speaker 3: being super aggressive and trying to get at a man,
- 2:00Speaker 3: what does that do to his ego? It doesn't take
- 2:02Speaker 3: much to win a man over. Men are easy. We
- 2:05Speaker 3: like to be chased and pursued and made out to
- 2:09Speaker 3: be this playboy. And you got one girl over here,
- 2:13Speaker 3: all lovey-dovey. You got her friend or somebody she knows
- 2:16Speaker 3: from the neighborhood now giving you the eye because you're
- 2:18Speaker 3: with her. you're going to feel like a pimp. And
- 2:21Speaker 3: if this girl keeps pushing and keeps pushing, some of
- 2:23Speaker 3: them will say, I don't even care about her. I
- 2:26Speaker 3: know you deal with her. It is what it is.
- 2:28Speaker 3: These aggressive women basically give a man an option he
- 2:31Speaker 3: can't refuse. Stay with the humble or sweet girl or
- 2:35Speaker 3: go with the sandwich that's talking about how she's going
- 2:36Speaker 3: to do X, Y, and Z to me. It's a
- 2:39Speaker 3: hard thing to compete with. It's better that these girls
- 2:42Speaker 3: are quote unquote taking him down than for you to
- 2:45Speaker 3: be in a six month relationship with them And she
- 2:48Speaker 3: takes him then because then your heart's really going to
- 2:50Speaker 3: be broken because the guy you're with never had any
- 2:52Speaker 3: loyalty to you. In terms of your own self-esteem, you
- 2:56Speaker 3: have to go the high road. If a woman says, oh,
- 2:59Speaker 3: I took your man, be the Ray J in the
- 3:02Speaker 3: world for the Kanye West.
- 3:04Speaker 1: I had him first. He's leftovers. My sloppy seconds. Thank
- 3:09Speaker 1: me later.
- 3:11Speaker 3: It's okay to feel sad and disappointed sometimes. In the
- 3:17Speaker 3: company of your own home. But fix your fucking face
- 3:19Speaker 3: when you go out in public. And hold your head high.
- 3:22Speaker 3: Don't empower these women. By letting them know they got
- 3:24Speaker 3: under your skin. And don't make this man. Feel that
- 3:27Speaker 3: he's some kind of pimp. Because he had you and her.
- 3:31Speaker 3: I want you to be cocky in the streets. But
- 3:32Speaker 3: self reflective at home. Think about it like this. If
- 3:36Speaker 3: every man you're dating. Goes off with another girl in
- 3:39Speaker 3: the same town. And these girls are always making fun
- 3:41Speaker 3: of you.
- 3:43Speaker 1: What.
- 3:44Speaker 3: Aren't you bringing to these relationships? Who are you when
- 3:48Speaker 3: you talk to these guys? Are you showing your full
- 3:50Speaker 3: personality or are you just happy to be there or
- 3:54Speaker 3: happy to have a guy in your face? A lot
- 3:56Speaker 3: of times what a man is looking for other than
- 3:59Speaker 3: sex is someone that's strong, someone that's personable. And if
- 4:03Speaker 3: you're shrinking yourself and you're just happy to be there,
- 4:06Speaker 3: that's not going to keep anyone hooked. If the common
- 4:09Speaker 3: denominator in my love life is that these guys always
- 4:13Speaker 3: walk away for someone else. Why aren't these dates going
- 4:17Speaker 3: as well as I think? Why aren't these relationships really
- 4:22Speaker 3: hooking anybody to my personality? That's the self-work you need
- 4:25Speaker 3: to do because everything reacts to how you are internally.
- 4:29Speaker 3: The external is defined by your internal. So think about
- 4:33Speaker 3: that and do some self-work. The next question is also
- 4:36Speaker 3: from Facebook and this is a pretty good one. GL...
- 4:40Speaker 3: I've recently put on weight since I had my daughter.
- 4:43Speaker 3: When I mean recently, I should say it's been over
- 4:45Speaker 3: two years. And before my pregnancy, I was trying to
- 4:48Speaker 3: lose 30 pounds already. I know it doesn't matter what
- 4:50Speaker 3: men think, but I think I'm fat. And that is
- 4:53Speaker 3: directly affecting the men that come after me as well
- 4:55Speaker 3: as keeping me from engaging with the men I find attractive.
- 4:58Speaker 3: All I can see in me is a whale. As
- 5:01Speaker 3: pretty as my face is, I wouldn't want someone my
- 5:04Speaker 3: size of my arm if I was a man. I'm
- 5:06Speaker 3: trying to diet, but I know it's going to be
- 5:07Speaker 3: a long journey. How do I find confidence to date
- 5:10Speaker 3: now regardless of my weight? My philosophy is always you
- 5:15Speaker 3: have to fall in love with who you are currently
- 5:17Speaker 3: in the mirror. You can't be delusional and say, oh,
- 5:20Speaker 3: I'm not that big. Oh, my nose isn't that long.
- 5:24Speaker 3: My forehead is a regular size. There's always things you
- 5:27Speaker 3: can pick at yourself and other people can make fun of.
- 5:31Speaker 3: But despite what you perceive as flaws, you have to say, yeah,
- 5:36Speaker 3: but I'm pretty. Yeah. Yeah. But I'm sexy. Yeah, but
- 5:41Speaker 3: I'm that bitch or I'm that dude. No matter who
- 5:44Speaker 3: you are, you have to find real confidence by looking
- 5:47Speaker 3: past the flaws and seeing that true beauty. I'm not
- 5:50Speaker 3: talking about, oh, I have a great personality. I'm talking
- 5:53Speaker 3: about a physical love for how you look physically. Because
- 5:57Speaker 3: if you go out here thinking, oh, no one thinks
- 6:00Speaker 3: I'm attractive. I'm not a trophy. Who would want me
- 6:03Speaker 3: on their arm? You already lost a battle, shorty. I
- 6:06Speaker 3: know weight is always going to be a big issue,
- 6:08Speaker 3: especially with those of you who had children.
- 6:11Speaker 1: Diet, exercise.
- 6:13Speaker 3: It's hard to keep up with all that stuff. And currently,
- 6:15Speaker 3: you know, a lot of the gyms are closed. So
- 6:18Speaker 3: you have to find that love for yourself now to
- 6:20Speaker 3: not wait nine months when you drop those 40 pounds.
- 6:24Speaker 3: There's no quick way to lose weight. It's like you're
- 6:26Speaker 3: not going to be your high school weight within the
- 6:30Speaker 3: next 30 days. That's not going to happen. But what
- 6:32Speaker 3: you can do is embrace the positives of your body now.
- 6:36Speaker 1: Let's be real.
- 6:37Speaker 3: There's girls on OnlyFans right now that weigh 300 pounds
- 6:40Speaker 3: and they're making tons of money every month.
- 6:44Speaker 1: Why?
- 6:44Speaker 3: Because there will always be men that find you attractive
- 6:48Speaker 3: no matter your weight. But it's about how you see yourself.
- 6:51Speaker 3: You need to have that same mindset. The same way
- 6:53Speaker 3: Lizzo thinks she's that bitch no matter what weight she
- 6:55Speaker 3: is and these girls think like, hey, I'm still pretty
- 6:58Speaker 3: enough to get all this money on OnlyFans no matter
- 6:59Speaker 3: what weight I am. That's the mindset you have to
- 7:01Speaker 3: take into the real world where it's like, I'm working
- 7:04Speaker 3: on losing a couple pounds but in the meantime... I'm
- 7:06Speaker 3: still that bitch. Y'all still want me. Y'all would still
- 7:09Speaker 3: eat my ass if I allowed you to. That's the
- 7:11Speaker 3: mindset you got to have. As I said, it's not
- 7:13Speaker 3: about false confidence or delusions. This is real life shit.
- 7:17Speaker 3: Men would literally eat out the crack of your ass
- 7:21Speaker 3: if you seduced them the right way. Your body is
- 7:24Speaker 3: not an issue for 80% of the men out there.
- 7:27Speaker 3: For that 20% that say, oh, I don't like girls
- 7:29Speaker 3: that big or, oh, that's not my type.
- 7:32Speaker 1: Fine.
- 7:33Speaker 3: They exist. They will let you know. They will be
- 7:35Speaker 3: on the internet calling you fat. They will give you
- 7:37Speaker 3: looks in the street. But for that 80%, they're looking
- 7:41Speaker 3: at you like a snack. They want to flirt with you.
- 7:43Speaker 3: But if you're so stuck in your head, how can
- 7:45Speaker 3: you even look up in his eyes and see that
- 7:48Speaker 3: he's giving you those fucking eyes? How can you even
- 7:50Speaker 3: muster the courage to go over there and flirt with
- 7:52Speaker 3: him if you think you're fat? You have to push
- 7:55Speaker 3: past that shit and just take a risk. Here's what
- 7:58Speaker 3: I want you to do. Keep working on your diet.
- 8:02Speaker 3: But in the meantime, fall in love with how you look.
- 8:07Speaker 3: Put yourself out there to be appreciated instead of assuming
- 8:11Speaker 3: you'll be made fun of. By the time you fall
- 8:14Speaker 3: in love with yourself, those thoughts of why would they
- 8:16Speaker 3: want me on their arm won't exist. It'll be like,
- 8:18Speaker 3: why wouldn't they want me on their arm? That's the
- 8:21Speaker 3: mentality you have to start developing now, not wait until
- 8:24Speaker 3: you lose weight. Trust me, I've gotten emails since 2015.
- 8:29Speaker 3: A lot of these women had body issues. And when
- 8:33Speaker 3: I see how they found boyfriends and a lot of
- 8:36Speaker 3: them even found husbands, it wasn't about me telling them
- 8:39Speaker 3: what to do. It was about them falling in love
- 8:42Speaker 3: with their self enough to go out and do the
- 8:44Speaker 3: Spartan things that I write about on my website and
- 8:46Speaker 3: write about in my books. Because if you don't have
- 8:49Speaker 3: confidence in how you look, you're not going to be
- 8:52Speaker 3: able to do any proactive tactics that I write about.
- 8:56Speaker 3: Fall in love with that mirror and work on it
- 8:59Speaker 3: every fucking day. Every day that you get up, look
- 9:03Speaker 3: at yourself. See a sex symbol. Stop seeing a fucking whale.
- 9:09Speaker 1: You'll get there.
- 9:12Speaker 3: Our final question before we get into the interview is, Hey,
- 9:17Speaker 3: I enjoyed the last podcast and I started Ozark this week. Hey.
- 9:21Speaker 3: And I watched Clerks. 37 dicks though, lol. Could you
- 9:25Speaker 3: tell me some books you recommend? Also, what other dating
- 9:28Speaker 3: books outside of your own do you enjoy? Shout out
- 9:34Speaker 3: to the Clerks reference. 37 Dixie is epic. Ozark, I've
- 9:38Speaker 3: been catching up with. I'm on the last two episodes.
- 9:41Speaker 3: I'll probably finish it this week. To your question, books, books, books.
- 9:47Speaker 3: I read a lot of nonfiction books. I think the
- 9:49Speaker 3: last fiction book I read was Fire and Blood by
- 9:52Speaker 3: George R.R.
- 9:52Speaker 1: Martin.
- 9:53Speaker 3: It's a prequel to Game of Thrones that I highly recommend.
- 9:57Speaker 3: Other non-fiction books i enjoy i like philosophy books i
- 10:01Speaker 3: like autobiographies i recently listened to one on the rapper
- 10:05Speaker 3: prodigy who's now um past one of my favorite biographies
- 10:09Speaker 3: was on gypsy rose lee she kind of invented the
- 10:12Speaker 3: striptease so it's a book about a stripper but not
- 10:15Speaker 3: about a stripper it's it's amazing it's called american rose
- 10:18Speaker 3: or american gypsy I highly recommend that one. In terms
- 10:23Speaker 3: of dating books, I don't really read other dating books.
- 10:27Speaker 3: I think the last one I even touched was Steve
- 10:28Speaker 3: Harvey's Think Like a Man. I had just finished Solving Single,
- 10:31Speaker 3: so I wanted to make sure I wasn't treading on
- 10:33Speaker 3: anything he talked about. When a reader asks me about
- 10:37Speaker 3: a philosophy or they say, Derek Jackson said this, Robert
- 10:40Speaker 3: Greene wrote this about seduction. I get a lot of
- 10:42Speaker 3: stuff like that, but I've never read any of those books.
- 10:45Speaker 3: The stuff I write about dating is based off of
- 10:48Speaker 3: personal experiences. friends experience, and reader experiences. At this point,
- 10:53Speaker 3: I have 10 years of stories where this is where
- 10:57Speaker 3: you went wrong and this is where you went right.
- 10:59Speaker 3: So I would rather rely on that than go through
- 11:01Speaker 3: someone else's dating book to see what they're talking about,
- 11:04Speaker 3: which doesn't mean these books are bad or whatever. If
- 11:09Speaker 3: someone recommends a good dating book and you think it'll help,
- 11:12Speaker 3: you definitely read it. But for me personally, I don't
- 11:15Speaker 3: like when people read a lot of dating books. I
- 11:17Speaker 3: think if you've read more than five dating books and
- 11:21Speaker 3: you still haven't gotten the message, you need to stop
- 11:25Speaker 3: reading books and start actually doing the work. Take one book,
- 11:30Speaker 3: apply it to your life for at least 40 days,
- 11:34Speaker 3: see how that book helps you or doesn't help you,
- 11:37Speaker 3: and then start with another book. If you keep trying
- 11:39Speaker 3: to apply these different philosophies and techniques, you're going to
- 11:42Speaker 3: be a fucking mess. Your center is going to be
- 11:45Speaker 3: off and you're going to be way out of alignment
- 11:46Speaker 3: because you're trying to serve too many masters. Don't try
- 11:50Speaker 3: to do what Robert Greene says and then try to
- 11:52Speaker 3: do what GL Lambert says and think like, oh, now
- 11:55Speaker 3: I figured it out because I got the perfect mishmash
- 11:57Speaker 3: of things to do. That's not going to help you.
- 12:01Speaker 3: And men don't love women like you. There's a section
- 12:04Speaker 3: where it says, stop reading. Come back in like 24 hours.
- 12:10Speaker 3: And I had a woman write me saying, hey, I
- 12:12Speaker 3: read your book in one day. And I DM'd her back.
- 12:15Speaker 3: I was like, well, you didn't file directions, did you?
- 12:18Speaker 3: So that shows me that You're not really reading and
- 12:21Speaker 3: internalizing it the best way you know how. You're basically
- 12:25Speaker 3: just speed reading, trying to find an answer to your
- 12:27Speaker 3: current problems. That's not how you read a book, especially
- 12:30Speaker 3: a book that I wrote. I don't know about the
- 12:31Speaker 3: other authors, but don't read my book like it's a
- 12:33Speaker 3: fucking speed test. It's meant to be read, thought through, applied,
- 12:42Speaker 3: and then you can hit me with a message or
- 12:45Speaker 3: you can leave a review or whatever, but first try
- 12:48Speaker 3: it out. What I've found is that any woman... has
- 12:51Speaker 3: actually spent over a month with any of my books,
- 12:55Speaker 3: their life changes. That's not me kissing my own ass.
- 12:59Speaker 3: That's real talk. I get these messages of success stories
- 13:02Speaker 3: and I'm like, why can't all of you have the
- 13:05Speaker 3: same story as her, her, and her? Because the rest
- 13:09Speaker 3: of you aren't actually reading. You're fucking racing through shit
- 13:12Speaker 3: trying to find an answer. You're missing so much of
- 13:14Speaker 3: the point when you just race through books or you
- 13:17Speaker 3: read the book, put it down, and grab another book.
- 13:19Speaker 3: So take your time. Like, I recently did the coronavirus
- 13:23Speaker 3: dating book that all the members can get for free.
- 13:26Speaker 3: That's not just for the quarantine. There's things in that
- 13:30Speaker 3: book that will help you for life. But you need
- 13:33Speaker 3: to take time and read through and think about this
- 13:38Speaker 3: shit and then actually apply it to your life going forward.
- 13:41Speaker 3: A lot of you don't want to apply. You just
- 13:42Speaker 3: want to read and like, hmm, that was fun. Hmm.
- 13:46Speaker 3: That was entertaining. Fuck entertaining and fuck fun. This is
- 13:49Speaker 3: meant to change your life and help you for the better.
- 13:51Speaker 3: So treat it seriously and stop reading so many fucking
- 13:54Speaker 3: books like you're a librarian.
- 13:57Speaker 1: All right, I'm done with my book rant. So let's
- 14:00Speaker 1: slide into the interview. Black leather glove, no sequins. Buckles
- 14:06Speaker 1: on the jacket, it's a leech shit. And we're back.
- 14:09Speaker 2: I'm here with Nita.
- 14:11Speaker 1: Say hello.
- 14:12Speaker 3: Hi, guys. And today we're going to talk about what
- 14:39Speaker 3: it means to be young, single, sexy.
- 14:42Speaker 1: And free. You think you're young, single, sexy, and free?
- 14:45Speaker 2: Definitely.
- 14:46Speaker 3: All right. Part of finding somebody that's right for you
- 14:51Speaker 3: is getting right with yourself. And a huge part of
- 14:53Speaker 3: getting right with yourself is learning how to be happy
- 14:58Speaker 3: and single. A lot of people, I can't find a
- 15:01Speaker 3: man or I can't find a woman. It's like, won't
- 15:04Speaker 3: you chill the fuck out? live your life, focus on yourself,
- 15:09Speaker 3: and you know someone's going to pop up and voila,
- 15:11Speaker 3: there you go.
- 15:12Speaker 1: You find somebody when you're not even looking for them.
- 15:14Speaker 3: Who are you mentally? Where are you going mentally? And
- 15:18Speaker 3: what have you gone through mentally in terms of growth? So, Nina,
- 15:23Speaker 3: how long have you been single?
- 15:26Speaker 2: Oh, man. Four, maybe five years now.
- 15:29Speaker 1: Five years?
- 15:30Speaker 2: Holy shit.
- 15:31Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 15:32Speaker 2: After, you know, like everything that's been happening in my
- 15:34Speaker 2: life with, you know, exes and stuff like that. Like,
- 15:37Speaker 2: like you said, I just been focusing on me and
- 15:39Speaker 2: just trying to figure stuff out. Like, what's the next step? Like,
- 15:42Speaker 2: I don't want to waste time anymore. I'm 26. So
- 15:44Speaker 2: I don't want to just jump into nothing. I'm just
- 15:47Speaker 2: like day by day, like just talking to people and
- 15:49Speaker 2: seeing where things going to go.
- 15:51Speaker 3: So being 26, five years, four years single. So like
- 15:55Speaker 3: you haven't really had a relationship since your early twenties,
- 15:57Speaker 3: like fresh out of teens.
- 15:58Speaker 1: Yes.
- 15:58Speaker 2: That's my first basically turning 21 being legal and stuff,
- 16:01Speaker 2: I guess. So, yeah.
- 16:03Speaker 1: And, How did your last relationship end?
- 16:08Speaker 2: Basically because he got locked up. We didn't break up
- 16:11Speaker 2: because he was locked up. It's just being young and
- 16:16Speaker 2: having to deal with somebody being locked up. After a while,
- 16:19Speaker 2: it's just like, what am I doing? I'm young. Do
- 16:22Speaker 2: I just sit here and wait? How long am I
- 16:24Speaker 2: going to wait for? It's just so many questions that
- 16:26Speaker 2: you got to ask yourself. You just don't know the outcome.
- 16:30Speaker 2: Things just went a whole different direction.
- 16:32Speaker 1: He was arrested for something he didn't do.
- 16:34Speaker 3: It was like uh fraudulent charge so they're probably like
- 16:37Speaker 3: okay he's in jail but he didn't do anything wrong
- 16:41Speaker 3: so he kind of felt guilty to leave somebody who
- 16:42Speaker 3: was like you know innocent.
- 16:44Speaker 2: Yeah and that was probably one of the hardest things
- 16:46Speaker 2: like you know him just being like you know i
- 16:48Speaker 2: don't know when i'm leaving here you know i didn't
- 16:50Speaker 2: do this or but people tell you everything too it's
- 16:52Speaker 2: like you know the story but do you know the
- 16:54Speaker 2: whole story type thing and so it's just like how
- 16:56Speaker 2: much can you believe like how much do they really
- 16:58Speaker 2: know how much do i really know but you know
- 17:00Speaker 2: from his family standpoint his standpoint you know he wasn't
- 17:03Speaker 2: innocent by a sander and I still believe he was innocent,
- 17:06Speaker 2: but he was in there for like two years. So
- 17:08Speaker 2: that's like a long time for somebody that was innocent.
- 17:10Speaker 3: So it was kind of like- How long were you
- 17:11Speaker 3: with him for the whole two years?
- 17:13Speaker 2: Of him being locked up?
- 17:14Speaker 1: Yeah. What, a year?
- 17:16Speaker 2: Yeah, a year. Like after a year. And I did
- 17:19Speaker 2: the whole visiting thing and being faithful for like a
- 17:22Speaker 2: whole year. And then after that year ended and there
- 17:25Speaker 2: was no change in him coming home or any questions
- 17:27Speaker 2: or answers, I was just like, I don't know what
- 17:30Speaker 2: to do from there. I don't even know. I love him.
- 17:32Speaker 2: I care. I'll still be here for you, but- The whole, like, oh,
- 17:36Speaker 2: I'm not going to talk to other guys. I'm not
- 17:37Speaker 2: going to do this. I'm not going to do that.
- 17:38Speaker 2: After a year, my mindset was just like, I'm just
- 17:40Speaker 2: going to have to do whatever. Just to benefit me.
- 17:42Speaker 3: So, did you go into single life being guarded about,
- 17:46Speaker 3: I'm not going to get into another relationship?
- 17:48Speaker 1: Or was it like, whatever happens, happens?
- 17:51Speaker 2: The first mindset I had, it was just like, whatever happens, happens.
- 17:55Speaker 2: But when I was working, there was always somebody that
- 17:57Speaker 2: was interested in me. And I think that kind of
- 18:00Speaker 2: helped me move on a little bit, too. Somebody was
- 18:03Speaker 2: interested in So yeah, so it was like a guy
- 18:05Speaker 2: that I knew, he always wanted to talk to me,
- 18:06Speaker 2: but I was always in a relationship. So I'm just like,
- 18:09Speaker 2: you know, and then I guess I kind of used
- 18:10Speaker 2: that as like, well, might as well talk to somebody
- 18:13Speaker 2: that I kind of know. I see him every day
- 18:14Speaker 2: at work already, so I could ease my way into something.
- 18:17Speaker 2: And that kind of helped me.
- 18:18Speaker 1: So what was the biggest difference from like, all right,
- 18:22Speaker 1: you got back in the game, you're single. It's like,
- 18:25Speaker 1: did you miss like, okay, I don't have anybody to
- 18:27Speaker 1: call every night. I don't have somebody to go out
- 18:30Speaker 1: on dates with.
- 18:30Speaker 3: Like, how was the adjustment of like, becoming single and
- 18:36Speaker 3: going from like having somebody up under you to like,
- 18:38Speaker 3: there's no man in your life.
- 18:40Speaker 2: So the transition was, uh, it was different, but I
- 18:44Speaker 2: was older at that time. Now, once we broke up,
- 18:46Speaker 2: so the guy I was talking to kind of had
- 18:48Speaker 2: a different aspect on the things that he did and
- 18:51Speaker 2: wanted to talk about. So, you know, yeah, it was,
- 18:54Speaker 2: it was, it was different. It made me look at
- 18:56Speaker 2: life and in a relationship different. Cause I'm like, I've
- 18:59Speaker 2: been doing this for five years with this guy. And
- 19:00Speaker 2: then I met him and I'm like, This is interesting.
- 19:05Speaker 2: Now I make you want to know more and do
- 19:07Speaker 2: more and just be interested in what's next or what
- 19:10Speaker 2: other people can offer.
- 19:11Speaker 3: A big thing that I see a lot is that
- 19:13Speaker 3: when you're used to dating a certain level, especially when
- 19:15Speaker 3: you're young and you're teenagers and you're in your early 20s,
- 19:19Speaker 3: those type of men, they're just big kids. They don't
- 19:22Speaker 3: really know how to date on a level. You come over,
- 19:24Speaker 3: you hang out, you chill, and that's your life. These
- 19:26Speaker 3: girls are going on actual dates. We don't really fucking date.
- 19:30Speaker 3: We just hang out. I think a lot of women
- 19:31Speaker 3: become guilty in their minds like, am I getting robbed?
- 19:34Speaker 3: Is this motherfucker not really giving me the treatment I deserve?
- 19:38Speaker 3: The answer is mostly yes. It's not about arguing about
- 19:41Speaker 3: the treatment. It's like, look, receive what your woman's saying
- 19:44Speaker 3: to you and take her the fuck out yeah it's
- 19:46Speaker 3: like yeah chilling is cool we could chill anytime but
- 19:48Speaker 3: like let's keep stuff fresh and go the fuck out.
- 19:52Speaker 2: Or have ideas i think that's like a big thing
- 19:54Speaker 2: like being in a relationship i came up with like
- 19:56Speaker 2: a lot of stuff like the trips we went on
- 19:58Speaker 2: i you know i thought about it and stuff like
- 20:00Speaker 2: that it was just him just existing and not like
- 20:03Speaker 2: my type of bubble i guess i don't know it's
- 20:05Speaker 2: like going on for the ride yeah you know yeah
- 20:08Speaker 2: and Then somebody, like you said, somebody else come along
- 20:10Speaker 2: and be like, you ever did this? You want to
- 20:11Speaker 2: go this place? I'm like, yeah. Like, you know, like
- 20:15Speaker 2: for somebody to just come up with the plan and
- 20:16Speaker 2: you just go with it instead of you just thinking
- 20:18Speaker 2: about it and somebody just going with the flow. Like,
- 20:20Speaker 2: are you really interested in what I'm like coming up with?
- 20:22Speaker 2: Or are you just, again, along with the ride, being
- 20:24Speaker 2: somebody else being like, you never did this before. Listen,
- 20:27Speaker 2: let's do this. Like, you know, so, yeah.
- 20:30Speaker 3: So you break up with your long-term boyfriend of five years.
- 20:35Speaker 3: You start dating this guy from work.
- 20:37Speaker 1: And then. What's the transition after him?
- 20:40Speaker 2: After the gentleman from work?
- 20:43Speaker 1: Nothing.
- 20:44Speaker 2: Nothing. I just literally been working, talking to people, like
- 20:48Speaker 2: friend with benefits type thing, just to, you know, because,
- 20:51Speaker 2: you know, people who have needs or whatever. But the
- 20:53Speaker 2: whole relationship thing, my whole mindset was just like, I
- 20:56Speaker 2: don't want one. I just didn't want one.
- 20:58Speaker 1: No, why? Name one specific reason you didn't run a relationship.
- 21:03Speaker 2: Okay, well, after the guy being locked up, the guy
- 21:05Speaker 2: from work, you know, his past and stuff, I just
- 21:06Speaker 2: didn't want to get close to nobody.
- 21:08Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 21:09Speaker 3: So you basically had one guy go to jail, do
- 21:13Speaker 3: two years for a charge he didn't do. And then
- 21:16Speaker 3: you had another guy from work who was treating you properly.
- 21:19Speaker 1: And he dies. Randomly.
- 21:21Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah. Gun violence.
- 21:23Speaker 1: Yeah. It's like he's going to pick up his kid
- 21:26Speaker 1: from school.
- 21:26Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 21:26Speaker 2: He was picking up his daughter. Well, he picked up
- 21:29Speaker 2: his daughter and he was on his way back to
- 21:31Speaker 2: his house with her. And he was on the phone
- 21:33Speaker 2: with the baby mom. I picked up our daughter. She
- 21:35Speaker 2: wanted to speak to him. He turned around and gave
- 21:37Speaker 2: her the phone and was shot clear in the head.
- 21:39Speaker 1: Jeez.
- 21:40Speaker 2: Yeah. And it was like the car went an extra
- 21:43Speaker 2: block and it crashed. And they had him on life
- 21:45Speaker 2: support or whatever, but the family just was like, what's
- 21:48Speaker 2: the point? He's shot in the head. He's like a... Yeah,
- 21:51Speaker 2: he's done. Then hours later, everybody was at work crying.
- 21:57Speaker 2: He was gone. That was it. It was like getting
- 22:00Speaker 2: to the good part. You start talking to people. You
- 22:02Speaker 2: start easing your way into stuff. We were like the
- 22:05Speaker 2: friends for those couple months. Then things started getting serious.
- 22:09Speaker 2: The more it got serious, then after that, bam. It
- 22:12Speaker 2: was done. I was like, wow. A herpes is like
- 22:15Speaker 2: every time you get close to somebody, something bad happens
- 22:17Speaker 2: or they get taken away. It was just like, I
- 22:19Speaker 2: don't want to get close to nobody. I'm going to
- 22:21Speaker 2: get taken away. Like that's, and that's like the mindset
- 22:23Speaker 2: I had for a while.
- 22:23Speaker 1: So I think that's like, you almost feel cursed. Like, wow.
- 22:26Speaker 3: It's like, that's a crazy mindset. I can understand like
- 22:28Speaker 3: not wanting to get close to somebody. You still have
- 22:31Speaker 3: needs and wants. It's like, how did you navigate? Like, okay,
- 22:35Speaker 3: I probably want to be in a deep relationship, but
- 22:37Speaker 3: I still need to be social and meet people. And
- 22:40Speaker 3: of course you got, um, guys coming up to you,
- 22:43Speaker 3: want to talk to you because how you look. So
- 22:45Speaker 3: how did you kind of juggle? Like, I don't really
- 22:48Speaker 3: want that, but, I can't be totally closed off.
- 22:51Speaker 2: I don't put my feelings in the thing anymore. I
- 22:53Speaker 2: don't know if that's like a help type thing, but
- 22:56Speaker 2: I'm still kind of closed off and stuff. I kind
- 22:58Speaker 2: of just, you pick a person that you like talking
- 23:00Speaker 2: to and if you find like a chemistry thing, you
- 23:02Speaker 2: kind of just go with the flow and I let
- 23:04Speaker 2: them know from the beginning like, I don't want anything. Like,
- 23:07Speaker 2: I just want what I want here and there, but
- 23:09Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 23:10Speaker 1: Do you guys believe that when you say that?
- 23:12Speaker 3: Because it's a lot of women, they all say the
- 23:14Speaker 3: same thing you're saying, but they're not coming from the
- 23:16Speaker 3: same type of trauma. It's basically like, Your hurt is
- 23:19Speaker 3: different because you went through like some tragic hurt.
- 23:20Speaker 2: Right.
- 23:21Speaker 3: Their hurt is more on the surface. It's like, I
- 23:23Speaker 3: can't say surface because, you know, heart broke is heartbreak.
- 23:26Speaker 3: But what happens is they tell these guys, I don't
- 23:28Speaker 3: want anything serious.
- 23:29Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 23:30Speaker 1: It is what it is. And men often say, okay, well,
- 23:33Speaker 1: I've heard that before.
- 23:34Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 23:34Speaker 1: So, I'm going to tread lightly.
- 23:36Speaker 3: But then, after a few months, it's like, so where
- 23:39Speaker 3: is this going? Yeah. And the guy's like, well, you
- 23:41Speaker 3: just said you didn't want anything serious. And they're like, well,
- 23:45Speaker 3: we got closer.
- 23:45Speaker 1: Yeah. How can I not want something serious? Yeah.
- 23:49Speaker 2: I think that's because people allow them to get close.
- 23:50Speaker 2: If you're going to say you don't want something, then
- 23:52Speaker 2: that's what you got to mean that they'll hit them
- 23:54Speaker 2: up or they'll text them like every hour on the
- 23:56Speaker 2: hour type thing. It's like, if you only want sex
- 23:59Speaker 2: or whatever, then why are you constantly texting them all day,
- 24:01Speaker 2: caring about anything? I show people like, I really just
- 24:04Speaker 2: don't care. And then they either get with it or
- 24:05Speaker 2: they don't. And that's, and that's basically just me. Like
- 24:09Speaker 2: I tell them like, you know, I don't want anything
- 24:11Speaker 2: right now. Like, I just look for a friend that
- 24:13Speaker 2: I can talk to here and there. And if I
- 24:14Speaker 2: want to hook up, I want to hook up. So
- 24:16Speaker 2: I'm not going to blow up your phone when you
- 24:17Speaker 2: talk to somebody. I'm not going to be like, oh,
- 24:18Speaker 2: who is this bitch? That's not me. And I think
- 24:21Speaker 2: that kind of actually attracts guys to be closer to me.
- 24:24Speaker 2: So it's kind of like a you can never win
- 24:25Speaker 2: type thing with me. Oh, you're so different. You say
- 24:27Speaker 2: you don't want this and you really mean it, but
- 24:29Speaker 2: it makes me want you more. And it's just like,
- 24:31Speaker 2: I told you, so just leave it at that. And
- 24:33Speaker 2: I'm like, I don't know. I can ignore your texts
- 24:35Speaker 2: all day. I won't text you a week later. I
- 24:37Speaker 2: can do stuff like that because, again, I don't want
- 24:39Speaker 2: my feelings involved whatsoever unless I'm ready to. Yeah.
- 24:42Speaker 3: Like you said, you push them away and it's kind
- 24:45Speaker 3: of like sexy almost. The more you don't want me,
- 24:46Speaker 3: the more I want you.
- 24:47Speaker 1: Because what am I doing wrong or how dare you
- 24:51Speaker 1: not be on my dick like the average girl? Men
- 24:54Speaker 1: are competitive.
- 24:54Speaker 3: If she's not on me hard, what am I doing wrong?
- 24:57Speaker 3: How do I get her on me hard? What advice
- 25:00Speaker 3: would you give women who are in the same mindset
- 25:03Speaker 3: as you? Like, I don't really want anything serious. Kim
- 25:06Speaker 3: meets a man and she doesn't want a boyfriend, but
- 25:10Speaker 3: he's on her heels. What's the etiquette in terms of
- 25:12Speaker 3: like texting, calling, sex? How does she navigate that?
- 25:17Speaker 2: Well, first, Kim got to believe herself. Like if you're
- 25:19Speaker 2: going to say something, you got to go off of
- 25:21Speaker 2: what you say. Your word is, you know, like... Word
- 25:23Speaker 2: is your bond. Yeah. So that's basically key. The texting thing,
- 25:26Speaker 2: like I said, it's just like a good morning text. Hey,
- 25:29Speaker 2: how was your day? Everything good? All right, cool. What
- 25:31Speaker 2: day are you free this week? A basic conversation type thing.
- 25:34Speaker 2: And plus work help. I keep myself busy. So I
- 25:37Speaker 2: don't really think about people too unless I need to
- 25:39Speaker 2: think about them.
- 25:40Speaker 1: So.
- 25:41Speaker 2: I just being, being true to your word and just,
- 25:44Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 25:44Speaker 3: What do you do if a guy starts to, uh,
- 25:47Speaker 3: call you a lot? Like he called you, just send
- 25:49Speaker 3: him the voicemail, send him the voicemail.
- 25:51Speaker 2: Yeah. I'll probably just send him the voicemail. Yeah, definitely. And, uh,
- 25:54Speaker 2: text them like even FaceTime people like you don't FaceTime. Like, no,
- 25:57Speaker 2: like don't, don't. I don't like people knowing like what
- 26:00Speaker 2: I'm doing, where I'm at. Like, I don't like none
- 26:02Speaker 2: of that. Like if you're not my dude, like don't
- 26:03Speaker 2: ask me what I'm doing every hour. Don't FaceTime me.
- 26:06Speaker 2: Don't call me unless, unless something bad, but. I don't
- 26:09Speaker 2: really have none of those problems. Cause like I said,
- 26:10Speaker 2: in the beginning, I kind of lay it down on
- 26:12Speaker 2: the line. I let him know, like, I'm not a
- 26:14Speaker 2: phone person. I read the text. I do take hours
- 26:16Speaker 2: long to take back. So it was like, everything is
- 26:19Speaker 2: literally upfront. Like I'm not, there's no surprises. None whatsoever.
- 26:23Speaker 2: I don't know. It's gotta be true to yourself.
- 26:24Speaker 1: So what's the craziest thing a man's done to try
- 26:28Speaker 1: to bring you closer to him?
- 26:29Speaker 2: It was like, you know, like, I just, I like
- 26:31Speaker 2: your vibe. I like how true you are. It kind
- 26:33Speaker 2: of sucks that you like, you just randomly stopped talking
- 26:35Speaker 2: to me. Like, we should go out or they like
- 26:38Speaker 2: wait a couple of days or a week or so,
- 26:39Speaker 2: then they'll come back and just be like, Hey, did
- 26:41Speaker 2: you think about this? Like, I still be thinking about you.
- 26:44Speaker 2: They'll just like reminisce, try to like throw stuff at you.
- 26:46Speaker 2: But again, I really just don't care. Like anybody can
- 26:49Speaker 2: say anything. You can bring me flowers. You can do this. Like,
- 26:51Speaker 2: I probably won't want to just be like, Oh, okay.
- 26:53Speaker 1: Thanks.
- 26:53Speaker 2: But are you willing to like, if somebody really want me, like,
- 26:56Speaker 2: are you going to like, are you going to jump
- 26:57Speaker 2: through hoops? Like, what do you want to do? That's different.
- 26:59Speaker 2: That's going to make me be like, I'll change my
- 27:01Speaker 2: mindset for you.
- 27:02Speaker 1: You don't want a relationship.
- 27:03Speaker 3: Right. but are you open to somebody, like you say,
- 27:07Speaker 3: jumping through hoops and actually convincing you otherwise? Can your
- 27:11Speaker 3: mind be changed is what I'm asking.
- 27:13Speaker 2: I mean, like I've been single for five years now.
- 27:15Speaker 2: So at this point, yeah, someone could definitely change my mind,
- 27:18Speaker 2: but it would have to take a strong, good somebody. Like,
- 27:21Speaker 2: like I really don't want no more nonsense.
- 27:24Speaker 1: No. What will you have to have?
- 27:26Speaker 2: Um, definitely like ambition. Like they got to know what
- 27:29Speaker 2: they want to do in life. I'm not expecting like
- 27:31Speaker 2: nobody to have like, their shit 100% together because we're
- 27:34Speaker 2: all perfect. None of us are perfect. We all got
- 27:37Speaker 2: stuff that we need to work on.
- 27:38Speaker 3: Plus, you're in your mid-20s. The quarter life thing is like,
- 27:41Speaker 3: you're going to probably date men that's probably from 25
- 27:44Speaker 3: to 32, I would say.
- 27:45Speaker 2: Right. They should be at the point where you almost
- 27:48Speaker 2: got your stuff together. You know where you want to go.
- 27:51Speaker 2: You know what you want to do. You're ready to
- 27:52Speaker 2: settle down. A lot of people, they aren't ready to
- 27:55Speaker 2: settle down. They aren't done with their ways. Guys have
- 27:58Speaker 2: childish ways, for sure. It takes a long time for
- 28:00Speaker 2: guys to grow up. At the end of the day,
- 28:02Speaker 2: I just want to be happy. I want to be
- 28:04Speaker 2: happy with somebody else that just wants to just live
- 28:06Speaker 2: life with me and be happy. We don't need the
- 28:09Speaker 2: fancy cars and stuff. I just want somebody on my level, chill,
- 28:13Speaker 2: get money, do this, do that, and just have fun.
- 28:16Speaker 2: Just enjoy life. I don't know.
- 28:19Speaker 3: Do you think your mentality of, I don't need you,
- 28:22Speaker 3: this is going to be the deal, do you think
- 28:24Speaker 3: that hinders you in opening yourself up, though?
- 28:26Speaker 1: It could.
- 28:27Speaker 2: It could.
- 28:28Speaker 3: How I see it is like, understand you're hurt. But
- 28:31Speaker 3: at the same time, if a guy does meet some
- 28:33Speaker 3: of those qualities on your list, she's a perfect candidate.
- 28:37Speaker 1: We had a good conversation. We vibe.
- 28:39Speaker 3: But here I am trying to text her and she's
- 28:41Speaker 3: giving me like two weird responses. Is it fair to
- 28:43Speaker 3: put a man through the fire?
- 28:45Speaker 2: Right. And I mean, that's a thought too. And that's why,
- 28:49Speaker 2: like I say in the beginning, I'm kind of like
- 28:50Speaker 2: an open book. Some people don't care to know like
- 28:53Speaker 2: why you are the way you are. So it's like,
- 28:54Speaker 2: if you don't ask those questions, then you'll never know.
- 28:57Speaker 2: And if you don't care to know, then obviously we don't,
- 28:59Speaker 2: we're not going to move anywhere. Cause you really don't like,
- 29:01Speaker 2: do you really care? So, and that's just, I don't know,
- 29:04Speaker 2: but I don't want everybody to have to like, you know,
- 29:06Speaker 2: reap the benefits of my like past. Cause it's like,
- 29:08Speaker 2: after a while you do have to get over it.
- 29:09Speaker 2: You got to learn to let people win. But I
- 29:11Speaker 2: feel like the person that wants to get let in
- 29:13Speaker 2: will ask to get let in. And if you don't ask,
- 29:15Speaker 2: then you're not getting in.
- 29:16Speaker 3: And I think that's actually a good test. If a
- 29:20Speaker 3: man is digging a woman, He should be like, why
- 29:24Speaker 3: is it like this? Why don't you want a relationship?
- 29:27Speaker 3: Because as soon as someone would tell me like, hey,
- 29:31Speaker 3: here's what it is.
- 29:32Speaker 1: I don't want anything serious. We can have fun. We
- 29:34Speaker 1: can do whatever. But I'm not looking for a relationship.
- 29:37Speaker 3: Instead of saying, okay, cool. it would be more like,
- 29:41Speaker 3: so why is that? When you talk to these guys,
- 29:44Speaker 3: do they ever venture down and say what went on
- 29:46Speaker 3: in the past? Or they just keep it on a
- 29:48Speaker 3: surface level?
- 29:49Speaker 2: I think because I come at them with my mentality that, again,
- 29:54Speaker 2: people really don't ask. People don't really dig deep or
- 29:59Speaker 2: they don't want to know and i think that's what
- 30:00Speaker 2: you need you need somebody that's going be willing to
- 30:02Speaker 2: like pick your mind and just make you like open
- 30:05Speaker 2: up more and it's just like if y'all don't care
- 30:06Speaker 2: enough to try to get me open then i'm not
- 30:08Speaker 2: going to open up i'm gonna just use you for
- 30:09Speaker 2: what y'all use people for like this is what i
- 30:11Speaker 2: want and that's that so you get what you want
- 30:14Speaker 2: i'm okay with that right now.
- 30:16Speaker 3: I think going forward the ultimate advice i can give
- 30:19Speaker 3: to you is to ask because do you ask them
- 30:24Speaker 3: about their their life and their past because sometimes it's
- 30:26Speaker 3: like it's tick for tat if like if you don't
- 30:29Speaker 3: care enough to ask me i don't care enough to
- 30:30Speaker 3: ask you and if it's just gonna be like a
- 30:32Speaker 3: friends for benefit type thing it's like now i.
- 30:34Speaker 2: Can't say they don't ask like why you're single they
- 30:36Speaker 2: don't get like we just don't get to the point
- 30:38Speaker 2: where it's like a deep conversation everybody be like oh
- 30:40Speaker 2: why you single oh like the guy's typical response oh
- 30:43Speaker 2: she's crazy she did she did you know everybody just
- 30:44Speaker 2: stick to like basic stuff and it's just like they'll
- 30:46Speaker 2: ask me it's like you know i just went through
- 30:48Speaker 2: some stuff Like, and if I'm not comfortable, like, you can't,
- 30:50Speaker 2: you don't just tell everybody everything, you know, head on.
- 30:53Speaker 2: But it's like, the more time going on, it's like, okay,
- 30:55Speaker 2: if I'm talking to this person for a couple months,
- 30:57Speaker 2: you know, like, let's really talk. Like, you know, no
- 30:59Speaker 2: one's ever like this, like, let's really talk. Like, everybody asks, oh,
- 31:01Speaker 2: why are you single? You just give the basics, but
- 31:04Speaker 2: nothing like a deep conversation. So it's never been that.
- 31:07Speaker 1: That's interesting. Yeah.
- 31:10Speaker 3: It's like, it's so weird that we live in a
- 31:11Speaker 3: world where no one really talks for real, for real.
- 31:14Speaker 3: Everything's like on the surface level stuff. And then when
- 31:17Speaker 3: you have, like, semi-deep talks it's probably about other people
- 31:20Speaker 3: or other shit or like you know you're talking about
- 31:23Speaker 3: music or celebrities or um plans for the future like
- 31:28Speaker 3: oh I plan on doing this business or I want
- 31:30Speaker 3: to start this up but like that's not real shit
- 31:32Speaker 3: about like yourself tell me about your father tell me
- 31:34Speaker 3: about your mother um you got brothers and sisters or
- 31:37Speaker 3: how was that growing up what part of the city
- 31:39Speaker 3: you from I did the book uh she ain't it
- 31:42Speaker 3: it was mostly about these are the things you should
- 31:45Speaker 3: do when you meet a woman.
- 31:46Speaker 1: These are the things you should ask.
- 31:47Speaker 3: Because what I found out just from the few men
- 31:49Speaker 3: that come to me for advice, they don't really ask
- 31:52Speaker 3: much and they get sucked into these women with dominant
- 31:54Speaker 3: personalities who basically use and abuse them. And we like
- 31:57Speaker 3: to think like men are tough, but a lot of
- 31:59Speaker 3: guys will seek advice. It takes a lot to seek
- 32:01Speaker 3: advice as a man because men think they know everything.
- 32:03Speaker 3: And so the men that would come to me, they'd
- 32:05Speaker 3: be like, well, I'm taking care of her two kids.
- 32:09Speaker 3: I give her money all the time for her work stuff.
- 32:11Speaker 1: And she treat me like this. And it's a lot
- 32:13Speaker 1: of cheating.
- 32:13Speaker 3: It's like, oh, she cheated on me and I'm still
- 32:16Speaker 3: sticking with her because I really love her. And it's like,
- 32:18Speaker 3: it's the opposite of what you see a lot of
- 32:20Speaker 3: times with men. And I think their problem is when
- 32:23Speaker 3: they go on dates, they're not thinking about who is
- 32:26Speaker 3: this woman. They say, oh, this is who she is
- 32:29Speaker 3: on the surface. This is what I'm attracted to, but
- 32:31Speaker 3: they don't go deeper. And then they find out You're
- 32:35Speaker 3: a good person even though you're going through a lot
- 32:37Speaker 3: of shit. Some women go through similar things to you
- 32:39Speaker 3: and they're complete fucking savages where they don't give a fuck.
- 32:42Speaker 3: And they will like use a man to do all
- 32:45Speaker 3: kinds of crazy shit while they're still fucking other dudes.
- 32:49Speaker 3: And they'll get in a whole relationship and still do
- 32:50Speaker 3: all kinds of crazy shit. And those conversations are never
- 32:53Speaker 3: had in the beginning because these men don't think they'll
- 32:56Speaker 3: ask questions. It's fucked up because either you're going to
- 32:59Speaker 3: get played and used because you don't know this woman
- 33:02Speaker 3: or in your case you're going to miss out on
- 33:04Speaker 3: some mic Decent because you're afraid to push her beneath
- 33:08Speaker 3: the surface. I can understand being shy and introverted, but
- 33:12Speaker 3: if you really like a person, get the fucking on.
- 33:14Speaker 2: Yeah, definitely. And you got to be worth knowing. And
- 33:19Speaker 2: I feel like nowadays people just, again, no one really
- 33:23Speaker 2: caught my attention to be like, I'm going to get
- 33:26Speaker 2: past the phase and really show you who I am.
- 33:29Speaker 2: Nobody is really worth that. Or is it just me
- 33:32Speaker 2: just assuming that or thinking that? So again, I don't know.
- 33:34Speaker 3: You would know if somebody really tried to talk to you. Like, hey,
- 33:38Speaker 3: let's sit down and talk. Or, hey, let's go somewhere
- 33:41Speaker 3: and just have a deep conversation. If they don't do that,
- 33:45Speaker 3: if it's all surface level bullshit, then they're not... You
- 33:48Speaker 3: know they're not doing that. It's not you assuming it.
- 33:52Speaker 3: My biggest question is this to you. Do you feel
- 33:56Speaker 3: like you're not living your best and true self when
- 34:01Speaker 3: you talk to people? Because it's like you almost have
- 34:03Speaker 3: to put on a facade. Because no one knows the
- 34:06Speaker 3: real you.
- 34:07Speaker 1: So it's like, you know what?
- 34:08Speaker 3: Someone goes to work and they work around people in
- 34:11Speaker 3: a cubicle. So you got to put on that work
- 34:13Speaker 3: mannerisms like, oh, hey, how are you? You got to
- 34:15Speaker 3: be very phony to be in that environment. And for you,
- 34:19Speaker 3: it's like when you go on dates or when you
- 34:21Speaker 3: talk to these guys, it's like you're being yourself, but
- 34:23Speaker 3: at the same time, you're not able to talk about
- 34:26Speaker 3: real shit about your own experiences or talk to them
- 34:30Speaker 3: about their experiences to see if you actually have a
- 34:32Speaker 3: lot of shit in common in terms of like, childhood
- 34:34Speaker 3: and background or whatever so do you feel like you're
- 34:37Speaker 3: almost not living a hundred percent because you gotta just
- 34:41Speaker 3: keep everything like on that basic.
- 34:44Speaker 2: Level that's a good question i mean things could change
- 34:51Speaker 2: with life if i wasn't like on that basic level
- 34:53Speaker 2: i mean because there's always opportunities for something different right
- 34:56Speaker 2: so it's like it's a good question though do.
- 35:00Speaker 3: You long for those type of conversation where you can
- 35:02Speaker 3: like Sit around and actually talk about real shit? Or
- 35:07Speaker 3: it hasn't happened in so long, you just don't miss it?
- 35:10Speaker 2: Yeah, I kind of just live my life and do
- 35:11Speaker 2: what I want. I don't regret anything. You really can
- 35:16Speaker 2: talk to anybody. You don't have to be in a
- 35:18Speaker 2: relationship to talk or vent to people, because sometimes you
- 35:21Speaker 2: got guy friends or just friends that just... Friends that
- 35:24Speaker 2: you can really just talk to without no type of
- 35:26Speaker 2: chemistry or whatever like that, that you can just vent to, but...
- 35:30Speaker 2: my family, my sisters is who I talk to. Like
- 35:32Speaker 2: if I really had like an issue or something like, again,
- 35:35Speaker 2: because it's like, you want to, if I'm going to
- 35:37Speaker 2: talk or if I'm like, let my heart out, the
- 35:39Speaker 2: people were just open up. It's like, I want to
- 35:40Speaker 2: talk to somebody that's going to care.
- 35:42Speaker 3: And the biggest question when you're, uh, happily single, it's like,
- 35:49Speaker 3: I can't be single for that long because I need sex.
- 35:52Speaker 3: I need the comfort of having sex with the same
- 35:55Speaker 3: person who knows my body and knows my mannerisms. And,
- 35:58Speaker 3: A vibrator won't do it for me like that forever.
- 36:01Speaker 3: Good sex doesn't have to be with somebody you've been
- 36:03Speaker 3: with for a while. You can have good sex with
- 36:04Speaker 3: somebody for the first time that you just met them.
- 36:06Speaker 3: And they're like, oh shit, you knew what to do
- 36:08Speaker 3: in that.
- 36:09Speaker 2: No, I mean, I'm 26. So you definitely have the
- 36:13Speaker 2: urge to have sex and hook up with people. I
- 36:16Speaker 2: guess you just got to be careful. You kind of
- 36:18Speaker 2: take a risk with just hooking up with somebody that
- 36:20Speaker 2: you kind of just met. Because you go from hooking
- 36:22Speaker 2: up with the same person for five years And then
- 36:25Speaker 2: once that stops and you start talking to somebody else
- 36:27Speaker 2: and then y'all start hooking up and then a year
- 36:28Speaker 2: you stop and it was like, all right. So now
- 36:30Speaker 2: I was like, do I just pick somebody out the blue?
- 36:32Speaker 2: Like you take a risk, you take a risk with
- 36:34Speaker 2: somebody and he's like, all right, is it going to
- 36:36Speaker 2: be good? Is it going to be something? Cause it's
- 36:37Speaker 2: like you have a friend with benefits and everything is good.
- 36:40Speaker 2: And then, then you stop and it was like, Oh,
- 36:42Speaker 2: I got to find another friend with benefits. But, um,
- 36:45Speaker 2: I'm not the type of person that has to like
- 36:47Speaker 2: have it every day, all day type thing. So I
- 36:50Speaker 2: think that's kind of like, like a help, like I'm
- 36:52Speaker 2: not like a nepho type thing. Like some girls be like, oh,
- 36:54Speaker 2: I gotta have it. Like, how can you, like, I
- 36:56Speaker 2: gotta sleep with somebody. I gotta cuddle. And it's just like, no,
- 36:59Speaker 2: actually even friends with benefits, like after I'm done, I
- 37:01Speaker 2: want you to get out. Like, I don't know. Like,
- 37:05Speaker 2: I'm not trying to be like a savage or anything
- 37:06Speaker 2: like that. It's just like, I'm just a female that
- 37:09Speaker 2: just don't want no parts and no bite. And if
- 37:10Speaker 2: I want sex, that's all the hell I want. And
- 37:12Speaker 2: it's just like, all right, we're good. Smoke something. We
- 37:14Speaker 2: roll up, have a little conversation. Do what we need
- 37:16Speaker 2: to do. And we just go about our business.
- 37:18Speaker 1: You can separate the sex from the emotional state of it.
- 37:20Speaker 3: Yeah. Sex usually leads to feelings getting involved. But when
- 37:23Speaker 3: you can say, okay, it's just sex and you don't
- 37:27Speaker 3: put any other weight behind it or any projections behind it,
- 37:31Speaker 3: you can do that. But it's so difficult, I've noticed,
- 37:33Speaker 3: for a lot of women to do that because I
- 37:35Speaker 3: think they really do want love. And sex is a
- 37:40Speaker 3: replacement for love. But love and sex aren't ever going
- 37:43Speaker 3: to be the same thing. And so it's hard for
- 37:45Speaker 3: them to say, okay, you got to leave.
- 37:47Speaker 1: Go get in your car and we'll call it over because...
- 37:50Speaker 1: Your time is done. Yeah.
- 37:52Speaker 2: But yeah, I don't do the whole, like again, I
- 37:55Speaker 2: put everything forward, like right up front, like I don't
- 37:57Speaker 2: do sleepovers. We do what we need to do and
- 37:59Speaker 2: we go our separate ways. You might can lay there
- 38:02Speaker 2: for a couple minutes, get yourself together, let me know
- 38:04Speaker 2: how it was.
- 38:05Speaker 1: Get your rag.
- 38:06Speaker 2: Yeah, right. You want some water? Yeah, I know. I
- 38:09Speaker 2: have you like some nice water so your throat not dry.
- 38:12Speaker 2: Wipe off just in case you got to go somewhere
- 38:14Speaker 2: else afterwards, whatever. None of my business.
- 38:16Speaker 1: Go back home to your baby mama.
- 38:17Speaker 2: It's something. But yeah, like, I'm just, I don't know.
- 38:22Speaker 2: I really just, I separate everything and I really just
- 38:24Speaker 2: mean what I say. So I don't think anybody could
- 38:27Speaker 2: be mad at me for just being 100% honest.
- 38:29Speaker 3: Do they ever get mad at you? Especially after sex,
- 38:32Speaker 3: do you like guys get emotional?
- 38:34Speaker 2: The guy that I'm like, that I'm like, you know,
- 38:36Speaker 2: doing my situation with now, like he definitely wants like
- 38:39Speaker 2: more time. Like the guy that I'm talking to now
- 38:41Speaker 2: is probably like literally the best I ever had. Number
- 38:43Speaker 2: one on like the top of the scale. And it's like,
- 38:46Speaker 2: even still, it's just like, Whenever I want it, that's
- 38:48Speaker 2: about it. But he's like, oh, I want to come
- 38:50Speaker 2: over more, you know, maybe two or three times a
- 38:52Speaker 2: month instead of this. And I'm just like, oh, no,
- 38:56Speaker 2: it's okay. Like, I'd rather, because the more you, the
- 38:59Speaker 2: more you start.
- 38:59Speaker 1: And why do you do that if he's that good?
- 39:02Speaker 2: Age, he's a little older, got kids. Like, I don't
- 39:05Speaker 2: want nobody, I really don't want nobody with kids. So,
- 39:08Speaker 2: I mean, that's another, like, a blockage, too, because my
- 39:11Speaker 2: guy could be with somebody with kids. Everybody got kids. Well,
- 39:13Speaker 2: most people got kids nowadays, but. his age and the
- 39:16Speaker 2: fact that he got kids. So that's a deal breaker.
- 39:21Speaker 2: That's kind of like a bad thing. Not saying that
- 39:24Speaker 2: maybe as time go on, things could change. But me, again,
- 39:27Speaker 2: with my mindset, it's kind of just like, not really.
- 39:30Speaker 2: Just want to have some fun with you. You're good.
- 39:33Speaker 3: If he checked the boxes where it's like, he was
- 39:36Speaker 3: a little younger, he didn't have kids, would you be
- 39:38Speaker 3: more receptive?
- 39:39Speaker 1: Maybe.
- 39:39Speaker 2: But again, I don't really know him to say 100% yes,
- 39:42Speaker 2: because all we do is smoke and do what we do.
- 39:45Speaker 2: So it's like, I can't really just fall for.
- 39:50Speaker 2: The sex like yeah that's definitely like a like that's
- 39:52Speaker 2: the number one thing like one of the number one
- 39:55Speaker 2: things but I can't just say oh I want to
- 39:57Speaker 2: continue something because I really I don't know I'm like
- 39:59Speaker 2: I know your personality I know like you're really chill
- 40:01Speaker 2: but like do I really know you like does he
- 40:03Speaker 2: really know you yeah that that too right I'm pretty
- 40:06Speaker 2: sure he wants to get to know me.
- 40:07Speaker 3: But texting you like hey I want to see you
- 40:09Speaker 3: more often that's not isn't the same as saying look
- 40:12Speaker 3: we're going to see each other more often I don't
- 40:15Speaker 3: care how busy you are boom but let's figure out
- 40:18Speaker 3: a time and date because I think That's the proactive
- 40:21Speaker 3: shit a lot of people want to see.
- 40:22Speaker 1: It's like, don't tell me something. Show me something.
- 40:24Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 40:25Speaker 1: Action.
- 40:26Speaker 2: You know? Actions are very important.
- 40:29Speaker 1: So, yeah.
- 40:30Speaker 2: Maybe if you chose something, like you say, like an
- 40:32Speaker 2: action point and not just, oh, I want to see you.
- 40:34Speaker 2: I like being around you. Then things could possibly change.
- 40:38Speaker 2: But it's not like that. So, I just stick with
- 40:41Speaker 2: what I know. And that's what I do.
- 40:43Speaker 1: Keep it moving.
- 40:43Speaker 3: Yeah. Your rules to being happily single sound like this.
- 40:50Speaker 1: Tell them up front that you don't want anything and
- 40:53Speaker 1: mean it. Yeah.
- 40:54Speaker 3: Because you got to mean it. Two, when you do
- 41:00Speaker 3: hook up and have sex, don't stay the night.
- 41:02Speaker 2: For what?
- 41:02Speaker 1: No nightstand. What's the point of staying the night? Yeah.
- 41:04Speaker 1: So you're like, oh, I want to get it again
- 41:05Speaker 1: in the morning. No.
- 41:07Speaker 2: No. If you want it that bad again in the morning,
- 41:10Speaker 2: then call them and say, hey, wake and bake. Let's go.
- 41:14Speaker 2: Roll up. Let's come back and let's start fresh. But no, dude.
- 41:18Speaker 2: I mean, unless you want it night, night, morning type
- 41:21Speaker 2: thing like that, then I mean, go for it. But yeah, don't.
- 41:23Speaker 2: What do they need to spend the night for? They
- 41:24Speaker 2: got their own bed. And if they don't, then.
- 41:27Speaker 1: Yeah, something wrong. Yeah, right.
- 41:29Speaker 2: Yeah, I know.
- 41:31Speaker 1: But then the last thing I would say would be.
- 41:33Speaker 2: To be really happy. It's easy to just say like, oh,
- 41:37Speaker 2: I'm happy and I'm single. But you got to mean it.
- 41:40Speaker 2: You can't lie to yourself, right? Like, everybody wants somebody
- 41:43Speaker 2: in the future, but I feel like I am content
- 41:46Speaker 2: with everything that I'm doing, how things go, and if
- 41:48Speaker 2: things change, then it'll do so. But just be honest.
- 41:55Speaker 2: Be honest with yourself. Be happy.
- 41:56Speaker 3: And what I've noticed, you don't need outside validation to
- 42:02Speaker 3: be happy. Like, you're not searching for anything or anyone
- 42:04Speaker 3: else to come in and fill that void.
- 42:07Speaker 1: In your heart because there is no void. I mean,
- 42:09Speaker 1: I'm sure, like, you would like to be with somebody
- 42:12Speaker 1: that's nice and loves you and all this other stuff.
- 42:15Speaker 3: But like, it's not something that you're craving for longing
- 42:18Speaker 3: for where a lot of people like, Oh, I need that. Oh,
- 42:21Speaker 3: I can't sleep. It's that romantic, like Cinderella type shit. Like, Oh,
- 42:24Speaker 3: I wish I could live this life.
- 42:25Speaker 1: You don't have that.
- 42:25Speaker 2: You don't think my fairy tales ended.
- 42:28Speaker 1: Yeah. You don't, you don't, you don't care about the
- 42:29Speaker 1: fairy tale existence. And I think that's a part of
- 42:32Speaker 1: the situation.
- 42:33Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 42:33Speaker 2: Everything that doesn't happen. So it's just like, Like you said,
- 42:37Speaker 2: from your first relationship, 16 to 21, I used to
- 42:39Speaker 2: tell my sister and him all the time, like, that's
- 42:41Speaker 2: my husband. I'm going to marry him. I'm in love.
- 42:43Speaker 2: And then things go on down the line. Like you said,
- 42:46Speaker 2: it's just like, life's not a fairy tale. Life is
- 42:49Speaker 2: not like the movies. And shit always happens. So, you know,
- 42:53Speaker 2: you just got to be happy, live for the moment,
- 42:55Speaker 2: and stay true to yourself. Stay true to what you
- 42:57Speaker 2: believe in, what you mean, and just go from there,
- 43:00Speaker 2: I guess.
- 43:01Speaker 3: Y'all be Nostradamus right now.
- 43:05Speaker 2: I'm going to pull out the card.
- 43:06Speaker 3: I'm going to pull out the tarot. I'm going to
- 43:07Speaker 3: read your tarot. I think you being the way you are,
- 43:13Speaker 3: she's a nice person.
- 43:14Speaker 1: She's chill. She has an energy to her. You're going
- 43:16Speaker 1: to meet somebody that actually shows you something different.
- 43:19Speaker 3: Just like that guy you met from work who you
- 43:21Speaker 3: knew for a little while. You're going to meet somebody
- 43:23Speaker 3: that comes into your life and they will be about action.
- 43:25Speaker 3: It won't be all talk. It's like, look, I hear
- 43:27Speaker 3: what you're saying, but this is what I want. Your
- 43:32Speaker 3: no is kind of like a half no. But for
- 43:34Speaker 3: somebody to come in and kick those doors down and say, look,
- 43:37Speaker 3: I understand what you went through, but trust in this
- 43:41Speaker 3: process and we're going to try to make this shit work.
- 43:42Speaker 1: Maybe it will, maybe it won't.
- 43:44Speaker 3: I think you're going to meet a guy like that,
- 43:45Speaker 3: but you can't be so hardcore that you dismiss somebody
- 43:50Speaker 3: who's putting in work.
- 43:52Speaker 2: Right.
- 43:53Speaker 1: And I think you may try to push him away.
- 43:55Speaker 1: Because that's what.
- 43:55Speaker 3: Yeah, I think that's natural. And it's going to be
- 43:58Speaker 3: on him to say, you know what? I know your
- 44:01Speaker 3: story because I asked your story. I know why you're running,
- 44:04Speaker 3: but I'm not going to let you run away. And
- 44:07Speaker 3: I think that's when you're going to say, let me
- 44:12Speaker 3: stop being a brat and let me stop running away
- 44:16Speaker 3: and let me face my fears.
- 44:17Speaker 2: Open up a little bit.
- 44:18Speaker 3: Because it's not all on the man to break down
- 44:23Speaker 3: your walls. Your walls have to be broken down on
- 44:24Speaker 3: your own. You got to be cognizant of like, there's
- 44:29Speaker 3: going to come a time and place where.
- 44:30Speaker 1: I have to let somebody in. And I can't run.
- 44:35Speaker 2: Again, with time, stuff like that will happen. I'm getting
- 44:39Speaker 2: older now. The situations that happen, again, they start to
- 44:43Speaker 2: fade away. So definitely, if somebody's willing to really just
- 44:46Speaker 2: take that ax and knock it down, then I have
- 44:49Speaker 2: no choice but to try to be open to it. Yeah.
- 44:52Speaker 1: Optimism is key. It's hard to be optimistic in this
- 44:54Speaker 1: type of world. But optimism is key because I get
- 44:58Speaker 1: a lot of people come to me saying, like it
- 45:01Speaker 1: won't work out for me.
- 45:02Speaker 3: Oh, that doesn't happen or that's all bullshit and love
- 45:05Speaker 3: doesn't exist anymore. There's always the possibility that you can
- 45:09Speaker 3: find love and love can find you, but it's not
- 45:13Speaker 3: on somebody to come in and just make you feel
- 45:16Speaker 3: that warmth. It's like you got to be able to
- 45:18Speaker 3: open your arms and receive that warmth. And if you're
- 45:22Speaker 3: not willing to open your arms, if you're like, oh,
- 45:24Speaker 3: everything's pessimistic and everything's negative, it's never going to work.
- 45:27Speaker 3: And then you're going to, as you get older, you're
- 45:29Speaker 3: going to be like, damn, Now I'm 36 and I
- 45:32Speaker 3: did meet a couple cool guys and I didn't really
- 45:35Speaker 3: embrace them.
- 45:36Speaker 2: I got to take responsibility for stuff like that, right?
- 45:40Speaker 1: Exactly. Yeah.
- 45:41Speaker 2: No, I definitely get that and I believe that.
- 45:45Speaker 1: But you'll be good.
- 45:46Speaker 3: Yeah. And for anyone else single and maybe not as happy,
- 45:50Speaker 3: there is gold at the end of the rainbow, but
- 45:54Speaker 3: it isn't like the movies. It isn't someone just falling
- 45:56Speaker 3: into your lap and loving you and everything's better. It
- 46:00Speaker 3: will be a combination of you saying, I'm single and
- 46:04Speaker 3: I'm happy, but what am I working towards with myself?
- 46:07Speaker 3: What am I learning from being single? You got to
- 46:10Speaker 3: be proactive in your own life. So any last words?
- 46:16Speaker 2: This was fun. I liked it. Thanks everybody for listening.
