- 0:08SPEAKER_00: Well here we are, and uh hey, um it doesn't mean that we can't uh assemble ourselves.
- 0:16SPEAKER_00: The Bible says not to forsake that, so somehow we're able to do that with today's technology, and I'm glad about that.
- 0:22SPEAKER_00: So um for those of you that are watching, I'm glad that we can somehow still get together.
- 0:27SPEAKER_00: And um uh today I want to um talk about this week.
- 0:33SPEAKER_00: This is what's known in churches as Holy Week, um, beginning with Palm Sunday, and um it's very significant because next Sunday is Easter and we're gonna be and we're leading up to that, which is we know is a very uh powerful day.
- 0:49SPEAKER_00: It's it's it marks resurrection, new life.
- 0:52SPEAKER_00: Uh our salvation work was completed with that resurrection.
- 0:57SPEAKER_00: But um the days that lead up to that um are very important and significant, symbolic.
- 1:05SPEAKER_00: Um the Sunday is called Palm Sunday, and of course, maybe some of you know that's it's called Palm Sunday because that's the day that Jesus entered into Jerusalem on a donkey, and the people, there was a crowd.
- 1:18SPEAKER_00: Now, I I don't I some of the movies I've seen, I don't think, I don't know if any of them really do it justice.
- 1:24SPEAKER_00: When you read about it uh scripturally uh and and historically, it was like the city was quaking uh with excitement and shouts, and people came and they were throwing their clothes in front of him, and some were laying palm branches in front of them.
- 1:38SPEAKER_00: That's where we get the name Palm Branch.
- 1:40SPEAKER_00: And uh and uh it was very significant because people were accepting him as the prophet, the Messiah, and as their would be their king, actually, in a sense.
- 1:54SPEAKER_00: And uh it's significant because of number one, the fact that he rode in on a donkey.
- 2:01SPEAKER_00: I want to read Zechariah chapter 9, verse 9, and and this is where it mentions that he comes riding on that donkey, but there's a lot said here that we want to look at because this whole week is it's about Jesus, and I like I like that everything about the story of Jesus from the time he starts heads toward Jerusalem from Bethany, uh actually from Jericho before that.
- 2:26SPEAKER_00: That trip from Jericho to Bethany, to Beth Page, into Jerusalem and into his entrance, and then everything that happened in the days after that speaks of the quality of our salvation, the bigness of our salvation, uh, the absoluteness of our salvation.
- 2:46SPEAKER_00: And if we see the truth of this this Jesus, this Lamb of God, it really delivers us from ourself, which delivers us from our pain, our self-consciousness, our fear, uh, our shame, uh, and certainly any consciousness of sin, so that we're free to live in love with power.
- 3:03SPEAKER_00: And certainly that's what he came to do, that's what he wants, and that that's that that's what I want.
- 3:07SPEAKER_00: I love you guys, and I uh you know I want everybody to live every single day of their life in fullness of joy and peace, no sense of fear, no sense of shame, um, uh no fear of death, no fear of doing wrong, no fear of condemnation, uh anything.
- 3:27SPEAKER_00: Zechariah chapter 9, verse 9 says, Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion.
- 3:33SPEAKER_00: Now this is a prophecy.
- 3:35SPEAKER_00: Shout, O daughter of Jerusalem, behold, your king is coming to you.
- 3:39SPEAKER_00: He is just and he has salvation.
- 3:43SPEAKER_00: He's lowly and riding, he's coming lowly and riding on a donkey.
- 3:47SPEAKER_00: A colt, the foal of a donkey.
- 3:49SPEAKER_00: He says, I will cut off the chariot from Ephraim, a bat, the horse will be cut off from Jerusalem, the battle bow shall be cut off, and he will speak to the nations, and his dominion shall be from sea to sea.
- 4:02SPEAKER_00: He will speak peace to the nations, and his dominion will be from sea to sea, and from the river to the ends of the earth.
- 4:10SPEAKER_00: Now, it's important because he for one thing, he comes in riding on a donkey.
- 4:15SPEAKER_00: Now, there have been false messiahs before Jesus came.
- 4:19SPEAKER_00: There have been other leaders that came, and and many people would follow them.
- 4:23SPEAKER_00: And we understand that the the climate there uh in Jerusalem and among the Jews uh around there were they were they they were under Rome, they hated it, and and and these other false messiahs all came in the name of rebellion against Rome, overthrow of the Roman um uh occupancy of Israel and Jerusalem.
- 4:50SPEAKER_00: And uh, and uh so they would be received in many ways, but then they'd end up you know attacking the Romans and they'd end up dying or running away or something.
- 5:01SPEAKER_00: And uh so here comes Jesus, and he's not on a war horse like the others.
- 5:05SPEAKER_00: He doesn't come as a warrior, he doesn't he doesn't come as them, he comes differently.
- 5:10SPEAKER_00: Now he's his ministry has been building.
- 5:12SPEAKER_00: People have been hearing of him, watching of him, his fame is it has been growing for three years.
- 5:18SPEAKER_00: And he comes in and he comes in riding on this donkey.
- 5:21SPEAKER_00: That's significant because because he's not coming out on a war horse, he's coming in peace.
- 5:26SPEAKER_00: He's coming as the Prince of Peace, just like he says.
- 5:29SPEAKER_00: He will come and speak peace to the nations.
- 5:31SPEAKER_00: Rather than coming and coming to overthrow with with human force uh numbers with horses, chariots, and swords.
- 5:40SPEAKER_00: He says, I'm gonna cut off the chariot from Ephraim, I'm gonna cut off the war horses from Jerusalem.
- 5:47SPEAKER_00: The battle bow shall be cut off.
- 5:49SPEAKER_00: He's gonna do away with all those things, and he's gonna bring peace.
- 5:52SPEAKER_00: Now, we know what he's talking about is that he's he certainly didn't stop all the war from happening in the world that's going on today.
- 6:01SPEAKER_00: But he's the Prince of Peace that came to live inside of us, and he brought peace to us.
- 6:06SPEAKER_00: If we'll have it, if we'll receive it, if we can recognize it and enjoy it and and and take advantage of this powerful gift uh that that we have.
- 6:16SPEAKER_00: And what it does, we know that his salvation, his deliverance came, and it came as personal salvation, didn't it?
- 6:26SPEAKER_00: It didn't come so much as a national salvation.
- 6:30SPEAKER_00: In fact, um Jerusalem would be destroyed later on.
- 6:36SPEAKER_00: It didn't come in natural ways like people expected.
- 6:43SPEAKER_00: Even uh even after uh, you know, when the disciples uh asked him, you know, will you then um establish your kingdom in the world?
- 6:52SPEAKER_00: He said it doesn't come like that.
- 6:54SPEAKER_00: It's within you.
- 6:56SPEAKER_00: So when they say it's over here or it's over there, you don't have to go because this kingdom is within you.
- 7:03SPEAKER_00: And and sometimes people would look at that and they would think, you know, that kind of seems less significant than if he, why didn't he just fix all this out here?
- 7:12SPEAKER_00: Why didn't he stop all the problems?
- 7:14SPEAKER_00: And why didn't he get why didn't why does all this stuff still go on in the world?
- 7:19SPEAKER_00: It's great that we can have that we can be happy sometimes, it's great that we can have peace, it's great that we can have joy, but but what about all this this evil, these bad things that are going on?
- 7:29SPEAKER_00: It seems like to many people, like his his he would have done a better work if he would have fixed all of that out there.
- 7:36SPEAKER_00: But in reality, look at what we're looking at.
- 7:38SPEAKER_00: Remember, in the beginning, the choice was him, that our life was would be about him.
- 7:46SPEAKER_00: We were made to live in union and conjunction with him.
- 7:50SPEAKER_00: He was going to be our sufficiency, he would be our uh security, he would be our provision, he would be the source of life for us.
- 8:01SPEAKER_00: And uh, you know, and and we know that man chose to let himself be his source, and what we see is the result of that.
- 8:08SPEAKER_00: So, really, the bigger work was that Jesus coming and establishing his father's kingdom, coming as as the Prince of Peace and the King of Kings, and him who declared over and over again, My kingdom is not of this world.
- 8:24SPEAKER_00: In the world they do this, that, and the other, but in the kingdom of God it's not so.
- 8:28SPEAKER_00: And his descriptions of the kingdom were always wonderful.
- 8:31SPEAKER_00: It was always good.
- 8:32SPEAKER_00: It was God being very benevolent and merciful and and abundant, uh abundantly good towards the people.
- 8:42SPEAKER_00: And these are the true riches and the true treasures.
- 8:45SPEAKER_00: Uh, before there were ever the deception of riches and the cares of life, there was God and us.
- 8:54SPEAKER_00: And God was to be our life, and Jesus brought us back to true life, not a sensual life to where we're only dictated by the things that are going on around us.
- 9:08SPEAKER_00: And that's why a lot of times people think it would be more significant if he would have fixed all the things around us and made everything around us on this planet good, um, then we'd be happy.
- 9:19SPEAKER_00: Well, that still leaves us sensual, and it doesn't work that way because God is spirit, his kingdom is not of that natural world.
- 9:29SPEAKER_00: His kingdom is of the eternal world.
- 9:31SPEAKER_00: Not all that other stuff is temporary.
- 9:33SPEAKER_00: Whether it's good or whether it's bad, it's temporary, right?
- 9:37SPEAKER_00: But there's an eternal world, and this is why I like to hammer it home and and and and and and preach it every chance I get that the powerful, the power of life is in the riches of the kingdom or the fruit of the spirit, the power, the love, the joy, a peace that doesn't make any sense, that you just have every single day a joy that that's unspeakable, undescribable, but it's full of glory, a joy that's there when you wake up in the morning and when you go to bed at night.
- 10:08SPEAKER_00: And it doesn't matter what anybody said about you today, it doesn't matter how much money you made or how much you lost today, it doesn't matter in those things because the true riches uh are eternal.
- 10:18SPEAKER_00: And that's what he that's what he came to give.
- 10:21SPEAKER_00: He came to establish peace, and and I'm a witness.
- 10:26SPEAKER_00: He has done that.
- 10:28SPEAKER_00: He has done that in my life.
- 10:31SPEAKER_00: He established peace in my heart, and I'll forever.
- 10:39SPEAKER_00: I know I will forever be thankful of that.
- 10:46SPEAKER_00: And until I knew his peace, his love, his joy, his fullness in my heart, I had to trust in myself.
- 10:57SPEAKER_00: I had to mount up on horses, so to speak, so nobody could get the advantage of me.
- 11:02SPEAKER_00: The word of God says, some trust in horses and some trust in chariots, but we will trust in the Lord.
- 11:09SPEAKER_00: See, we mount up our forces.
- 11:11SPEAKER_00: Some of us become very intimidating, so nobody else will pick on us again and get the best of us.
- 11:17SPEAKER_00: Some of us will become very controlling, so we will never let someone have you know, someone or try to or or let someone have the advantage over us, or we'll try to control life and try to keep everything at at all problems at bay and at peace, and nobody can really do that.
- 11:32SPEAKER_00: That's why Jesus said, Hey, we're talking about two different worlds here.
- 11:36SPEAKER_00: I came to establish the real world.
- 11:39SPEAKER_00: I came to give you the real world.
- 11:41SPEAKER_00: I came to give you the real kingdom, I came to give you real life.
- 11:47SPEAKER_00: Not to fix a fake life, not to put band-aids on a on on a on a on a temporary thing.
- 11:53SPEAKER_00: What is that life?
- 11:54SPEAKER_00: It's a smoke, it's a vapor, there it is, and then what happens?
- 11:57SPEAKER_00: Pretty soon, it's gone.
- 12:01SPEAKER_00: You really didn't want me to just fix that.
- 12:04SPEAKER_00: You wanted me to fix your eternity, you wanted me to fix the insides so that no matter what the smoke does of life, the vapor that comes and goes, you are who you are, and you'll get to be that with me all the time in the fullness of the joy of the Lord.
- 12:21SPEAKER_00: So I get so excited talking about that.
- 12:26SPEAKER_00: Another part of the significance, and to me, it's even the most important part that I want to get to in this message, is that when Jesus entered the city on what um a lot of people now call Palm Sunday, it was also it ha it it happened to be uh on the Jewish calendar, Nisan the 10th, which is uh Lamb Selection Day.
- 12:58SPEAKER_00: And uh and this is the day that I mean now think of this, there are multitudes.
- 13:03SPEAKER_00: Uh he's coming in on this road from the east.
- 13:06SPEAKER_00: And uh uh, you know, coming into the to the to the east gate, and then and uh many people would would call it the sheep gate.
- 13:14SPEAKER_00: And people are coming in, multitudes are coming on this road.
- 13:16SPEAKER_00: So uh historians will say hundreds of thousands.
- 13:20SPEAKER_00: Josephus would say millions, but he's he's always really big on numbers.
- 13:23SPEAKER_00: But anyway, we know it was a lot.
- 13:25SPEAKER_00: And uh and so there's multitude.
- 13:28SPEAKER_00: This is a crowded, a crowded road of people coming, and they're coming from all around.
- 13:33SPEAKER_00: This is a feast of Passover where every male, every male of Israelites, no matter from where they're at, every male is to come to this one.
- 13:43SPEAKER_00: This is the biggest feast.
- 13:44SPEAKER_00: The other ones are big, the two other feasts, there's there's Passover, there's Pentecost, and there's tabernacles.
- 13:49SPEAKER_00: The other ones are big and people come, but this one is required that every male comes and he would come and bring his families.
- 13:56SPEAKER_00: And this would be the feast where they would actually offer their Passover lamb for the sins of the household.
- 14:05SPEAKER_00: And um and so this is the day that's called Lamb Selection Day.
- 14:11SPEAKER_00: This is when the Lamb would be selected.
- 14:14SPEAKER_00: Jesus rode in in the afternoon.
- 14:16SPEAKER_00: The families would choose.
- 14:17SPEAKER_00: So they would come into Jerusalem and and the the Sadducees who who were the denomination, if you will, they were the ones who were more about the priesthood.
- 14:30SPEAKER_00: Pharisees were more about the law, uh, the laws of Moses.
- 14:34SPEAKER_00: They were all about that.
- 14:36SPEAKER_00: While they were about the law, the Pharisees centered more on the priesthood.
- 14:39SPEAKER_00: So they took care of the sheep stuff.
- 14:41SPEAKER_00: And so they would raise these lambs, and they would bring these unblemished lambs, unspotted lambs, to Jerusalem, and the people would come and they would choose, they would select their lamb.
- 14:54SPEAKER_00: And when they would select their lamb, then that lamb had to be had to be had to set, they had to observe that lamb.
- 15:00SPEAKER_00: He had to be visible for four days.
- 15:03SPEAKER_00: Jesus was crucified four days later.
- 15:05SPEAKER_00: They had to be visible.
- 15:06SPEAKER_00: Jesus was visible.
- 15:07SPEAKER_00: He came into Jerusalem, and he was visible for four days and being selected when he entered into that city on land selection day.
- 15:18SPEAKER_00: How do I know he was selected?
- 15:19SPEAKER_00: Well, we've got a few reasons.
- 15:21SPEAKER_00: Number one, when he came in, when he came into the city riding on that, on that donkey, what were they yelling?
- 15:27SPEAKER_00: They were all treating him like the king.
- 15:29SPEAKER_00: They were saying, This is the one.
- 15:31SPEAKER_00: They were saying, Hosanna, Hosanna in the highest.
- 15:34SPEAKER_00: What's Hosanna?
- 15:35SPEAKER_00: God save us.
- 15:36SPEAKER_00: Now, there again, they misinterpreted it because they they were again, their mindset was someone that was going to overthrow Rome.
- 15:43SPEAKER_00: That's what, and that was always the cry.
- 15:45SPEAKER_00: Even these false messiahs, they would cry out, God save us, and they were thinking, save us from Rome.
- 15:51SPEAKER_00: And he took all that praise and he took all that adoration, coming on an instrument of peace, a donkey, and they were crying out to him, they had chosen him.
- 16:01SPEAKER_00: He came in.
- 16:02SPEAKER_00: In fact, many of the other religious leaders, they were afraid, they were saying, they were saying, Jesus, don't you hear what they're saying?
- 16:08SPEAKER_00: You know, we need to shut them up because, you know, there are still Romans around here.
- 16:14SPEAKER_00: And the Romans are all, you know, they're they've been afraid of insurrection.
- 16:18SPEAKER_00: It's been happening again and again.
- 16:19SPEAKER_00: And they're all they're on the lookout for this stuff too.
- 16:22SPEAKER_00: And uh they're like, Jesus, we're gonna get in trouble here.
- 16:26SPEAKER_00: And uh, but they but but they're they're they're treating him like a triumphal king.
- 16:32SPEAKER_00: And normally a triumphant king would come in riding on his horse and gathering the praise of the people.
- 16:37SPEAKER_00: He comes in on a donkey.
- 16:39SPEAKER_00: And he comes into Jerusalem and he comes in and he's teaching.
- 16:43SPEAKER_00: He's being observed in Jerusalem for four days.
- 16:46SPEAKER_00: Not only does he teach, but he does lots of miracles, healings.
- 16:50SPEAKER_00: He's being observed.
- 16:52SPEAKER_00: Uh there were, you know, blind men that he healed on the way in, on the road.
- 16:58SPEAKER_00: And uh and uh and and the Bible says that they, after when they received their sight, what did they do?
- 17:05SPEAKER_00: They followed him into Jerusalem.
- 17:09SPEAKER_00: They had chosen their land.
- 17:12SPEAKER_00: Now what I want to do with this is take this truth and and look at this, because when you choose Jesus, maybe some of us lose sight of this.
- 17:27SPEAKER_00: We have chosen our spotless lamb.
- 17:31SPEAKER_00: And in choosing our spotless lamb, what we're what we're saying, when we've chosen him, there's lots of lambs coming into Jerusalem on that afternoon.
- 17:41SPEAKER_00: But when we chose Jesus, we chose him to be our lamb, which means we've chosen the last lamb ever to be sacrificed for us.
- 17:51SPEAKER_00: We chose the lamb who was who who who came to destroy the power.
- 18:00SPEAKER_00: Let me say it this way.
- 18:01SPEAKER_00: Number one, we know that He He came and established His Father's kingdom in the earth.
- 18:08SPEAKER_00: So when we chose Jesus, we chose His kingdom.
- 18:11SPEAKER_00: We chose the kingdom that He gave us.
- 18:15SPEAKER_00: When we chose Jesus, we chose something better than what we had before.
- 18:20SPEAKER_00: When we chose that Lamb, and remember, remember John the Baptist said, Behold the Lamb of God, he takes away the sin of the world.
- 18:28SPEAKER_00: You read the book of Revelation, what is the symbolism?
- 18:31SPEAKER_00: It is the revelation of Jesus Christ, right?
- 18:33SPEAKER_00: Well, in that revelation of Jesus Christ, how is he described over and over?
- 18:38SPEAKER_00: It seems like on every page, the Lamb, the Lamb of God, the Lamb took that book.
- 18:44SPEAKER_00: They followed the Lamb.
- 18:45SPEAKER_00: The Lamb stood on Mount Zion, the Lamb sat on the throne, the Lamb, the Lamb, the Lamb.
- 18:50SPEAKER_00: Why does it keep saying this?
- 18:52SPEAKER_00: Because he wants you to know that when you're talking about the revelation of Jesus, you're talking about someone that took away all sin, all of your sin.
- 19:05SPEAKER_00: If we could see this correctly, if we could see this clearly, sin would be something that would virtually never need to even be brought up or mentioned in the church world again.
- 19:19SPEAKER_00: Because it's not mentioned in heaven.
- 19:22SPEAKER_00: Not after the Lamb of God came, not after the Lamb was given, the spotless lamb was given and slain, finished a work, spread that blood for us, and has taken care of that sin and the curse of that sin and that death.
- 19:39SPEAKER_00: It's also interesting, right, that that uh uh on that selection day of the lamb, that's also um Nisan the 10th, which goes all the way back to Passover.
- 19:50SPEAKER_00: That's also the day of Passover.
- 19:52SPEAKER_00: Passover begins.
- 19:54SPEAKER_00: And he and and what about the lamb there?
- 19:58SPEAKER_00: Now watch this.
- 19:59SPEAKER_00: It was the blood of the lamb on the house of those people that saved them from death.
- 20:07SPEAKER_00: It wasn't war, it wasn't horses and swords and chariots, it wasn't their strength, it wasn't their strategies.
- 20:17SPEAKER_00: They hid in refuge with the word of God, and that blood was applied, and it was the blood of that lamb that had all the power.
- 20:31SPEAKER_00: And when we've chosen this lamb, the lamb, the lamb, the lamb, the lamb.
- 20:38SPEAKER_00: This is so powerful because it it marks the annihilation of sin, its effects, and Hebrews says, even its consciousness.
- 20:54SPEAKER_00: Somebody says, Well, how come I still think about it?
- 20:56SPEAKER_00: How come I it's still I still talk about it?
- 20:58SPEAKER_00: How come I'm still ashamed of it?
- 20:59SPEAKER_00: How come you know that my people are destroyed for lack of knowledge?
- 21:04SPEAKER_00: And Jesus said, When you know the truth, the truth makes you free.
- 21:07SPEAKER_00: Bless our hearts.
- 21:08SPEAKER_00: We have talked so much about sin in the church world that people still got it ingrained in the brain.
- 21:14SPEAKER_00: But the word of God says, hey, behold the lamb.
- 21:17SPEAKER_00: You know, when all those lambs, that other lambs that came in and they were selected and they were, and they were visible for four days as people watched and expected, and they were, what are they doing for those four days?
- 21:27SPEAKER_00: They're watching, they're making sure, because in four days they're going to they're going to go sacrifice that lamb for the sins of the family, and it has to be without spot.
- 21:35SPEAKER_00: See, what are they looking for when they look at those lambs?
- 21:39SPEAKER_00: A family chooses its lamb and it puts it in that pen, and there it is, and and you know, the family's got it, and everybody can see it.
- 21:45SPEAKER_00: They're looking at it.
- 21:46SPEAKER_00: What are they looking for when they look at that lamb?
- 21:47SPEAKER_00: What are they looking for?
- 21:49SPEAKER_00: Spots, blemishes.
- 21:51SPEAKER_00: They're looking for something wrong.
- 21:55SPEAKER_00: See, because that's what all those other those other animals talk about.
- 22:00SPEAKER_00: The Bible says that even with those sacrifices that they would bring every year, what does it say?
- 22:07SPEAKER_00: It says there was always a remembrance of sins.
- 22:11SPEAKER_00: Not a remembrance of forgiveness.
- 22:14SPEAKER_00: It was a remembrance of sins.
- 22:16SPEAKER_00: Not a remembrance that sins have been annihilated.
- 22:20SPEAKER_00: It was a remembrance that sins are present.
- 22:24SPEAKER_00: So they're all looking for blemishes.
- 22:27SPEAKER_00: And they're hoping that they don't see blemishes.
- 22:30SPEAKER_00: Because what happens if they select this lamb and then they see blemishes there?
- 22:33SPEAKER_00: I don't know what they do then because, you know, I guess they go select another one or something.
- 22:37SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 22:37SPEAKER_00: But they're like hoping that they don't find anything wrong.
- 22:44SPEAKER_00: And religion has always done that, isn't it?
- 22:47SPEAKER_00: People trying to live without blemish or try to become without blemish.
- 22:51SPEAKER_00: So we have the final Lamb that comes and takes care of all of it.
- 22:55SPEAKER_00: And when the word of God says, behold the Lamb, that is also saying, not beholding you, not looking at you.
- 23:03SPEAKER_00: We're not examining you.
- 23:05SPEAKER_00: We're examining Jesus.
- 23:06SPEAKER_00: We're beholding the Lamb.
- 23:08SPEAKER_00: And he was found spotless, right?
- 23:11SPEAKER_00: He says, The Prince of this world has come, and he's found nothing in me.
- 23:15SPEAKER_00: Right?
- 23:15SPEAKER_00: He was inspected for four days.
- 23:18SPEAKER_00: And the people saw him.
- 23:19SPEAKER_00: He did his miracles.
- 23:22SPEAKER_00: He did his teachings in the presence of everything.
- 23:25SPEAKER_00: And even though, so the prophecy could be fulfilled, and so he could get on that cross, the religious leaders incited the Jews to uh to uh to to summon the Jews to speak against Jesus.
- 23:40SPEAKER_00: Pontius Pilate himself examined him.
- 23:46SPEAKER_00: And he says, I find no fault in him.
- 23:51SPEAKER_00: He was examined and he was found spotless and without blemish.
- 23:55SPEAKER_00: We know that.
- 23:56SPEAKER_00: But what does that mean to us?
- 23:58SPEAKER_00: It means that blood has been applied, and what he did is he became the final Lamb and he annihilated sin once more.
- 24:08SPEAKER_00: It is a horrible, horrible thing that we, even in the church world, have come up with other ideas of dealing with sin.
- 24:19SPEAKER_00: We may have made made-up ideas about speaking it out with your mouth every time you commit one.
- 24:33SPEAKER_00: We made people afraid to go to sleep, afraid that they haven't confessed every sin that they made.
- 24:41SPEAKER_00: We've brought people that have been washed and cleansed by the blood of the Lamb and made them to feel bad about themselves so they would come and and quote, repent, which was really no repentance at all.
- 24:54SPEAKER_00: And then if they if they did it again, then we told them that, well, you must not have really meant it, because if you really would have meant it, you wouldn't do it.
- 25:01SPEAKER_00: So they try to mean it harder and they're fighting and they're doing all these things.
- 25:05SPEAKER_00: And then others come up with the idea that, well, if you cry, maybe, if you just you have to cry about it.
- 25:10SPEAKER_00: And so then people start wanting to cry about it and start hoping they can feel that bad about it when Jesus took care of all of it so we could have that joy and peace evermore, and wouldn't ever have that sense of guilt, inferiority, or condemnation, for there is therefore now no condemnation in Christ Jesus.
- 25:32SPEAKER_00: I've got good and good, good news as always, and that's what gospel means.
- 25:43SPEAKER_00: We almost don't even need to use the word gospel.
- 25:45SPEAKER_00: Let's just, you know, that word did not get translated.
- 25:49SPEAKER_00: They kept it, they kept it in Greek.
- 25:51SPEAKER_00: That word is good news.
- 25:54SPEAKER_00: Jesus didn't say just go preach gospel, he said go preach good news.
- 25:59SPEAKER_00: And people talk about, well, we have the we need the whole gospel, you know, it's got some of this and this judgment and some of this and some anger of God and this.
- 26:06SPEAKER_00: No, no, Jesus said preach the good news.
- 26:08SPEAKER_00: And what and what was it?
- 26:09SPEAKER_00: He explained it right after that.
- 26:10SPEAKER_00: He said, Go and preach good news that the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
- 26:17SPEAKER_00: That's what he came, that's what he established.
- 26:20SPEAKER_00: You see, I want to exhort people to look at reality, look at truth here.
- 26:28SPEAKER_00: That we carry this treasure in earthen vessels, the Word of God says.
- 26:32SPEAKER_00: And that treasure is righteousness.
- 26:35SPEAKER_00: That righteousness came because of him, not because of us.
- 26:38SPEAKER_00: Oh, that's freedom.
- 26:41SPEAKER_00: You and I will never ever have to carry a burden of guilt or sin about anything.
- 26:46SPEAKER_00: But what if you do sin?
- 26:48SPEAKER_00: You don't have to carry a burden of guilt or sin about it at all.
- 26:54SPEAKER_00: Because this flesh is weak.
- 26:57SPEAKER_00: God knows this frame.
- 26:58SPEAKER_00: He knows that we are but dust.
- 27:00SPEAKER_00: Why do you think that he came to take care of the whole problem that we could not fix because of our weakness?
- 27:08SPEAKER_00: He says, you know what?
- 27:09SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna take all you out of the way and I'm gonna do this whole thing myself.
- 27:12SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna take care of your sin problem.
- 27:14SPEAKER_00: I'm not gonna require you to be any better, I'm not gonna require you to fulfill any rules, I'm not gonna uh require you to make any more sacrifices and burn offerings.
- 27:24SPEAKER_00: In fact, I hate those things.
- 27:25SPEAKER_00: That's why I made a final one for you.
- 27:28SPEAKER_00: I'm done with it.
- 27:30SPEAKER_00: No more, there is no more sacrifice for sin.
- 27:33SPEAKER_00: It's done.
- 27:34SPEAKER_00: You are one with him, you are clean, you are holy, you're living with him forever.
- 27:38SPEAKER_00: Please enjoy it every day of your life.
- 27:44SPEAKER_00: Not only did he establish a kingdom and annihilate sin, but the Bible says in Hebrews 2.14 that he destroyed Satan.
- 27:55SPEAKER_00: He destroyed him who had the power of sin and set at liberty to all those who were in fear.
- 28:06SPEAKER_00: There is no power of Satan in your life at all.
- 28:09SPEAKER_00: That's another one you don't even need to talk about, think about anymore.
- 28:13SPEAKER_00: Because what we're looking at is the Lamb.
- 28:18SPEAKER_00: This whole thing became this is why we love to sing about Jesus.
- 28:24SPEAKER_00: Why sometimes we will cry at the mention of his name, why we love to gather gather together and talk about things that center on him, him, him, him, him.
- 28:36SPEAKER_00: Because when when it's all centered on the Lamb, which is what the New Testament shows us from beginning all the way to Revelation, that He's the Lamb.
- 28:48SPEAKER_00: And and when you've chosen Him, you've chosen no condemnation.
- 28:56SPEAKER_00: When you've chosen Him, you have chosen no more guilt.
- 29:01SPEAKER_00: What if I do What if He did?
- 29:05SPEAKER_00: That's what it is.
- 29:06SPEAKER_00: What if He did take care of that for you?
- 29:10SPEAKER_00: What if I do it a hundred times?
- 29:13SPEAKER_00: It's all well, it's all forgiven, it's all taken care of, and that's what He wanted us to know.
- 29:20SPEAKER_00: Jesus, by giving Himself, revealed the Father's true love, His true intention, His true feelings toward us, and His true plans for us.
- 29:31SPEAKER_00: But none of that is relevant when Jesus has become the Lamb that we've selected.
- 29:39SPEAKER_00: When we've chosen Him, we've chosen freedom from ourselves.
- 29:45SPEAKER_00: When we've chosen Him, we've chosen freedom from striving.
- 29:49SPEAKER_00: When we've chosen Him, we've chosen freedom from a need to control because His perfect love has gotten rid of our fear.
- 29:56SPEAKER_00: This happens to us.
- 29:58SPEAKER_00: It's powerful, it's supernatural, but it really, really, really happens, and that's why I want to tell the world.
- 30:07SPEAKER_00: That's why I can't shut up about it.
- 30:12SPEAKER_00: After living so many decades trying my best, like so many people do.
- 30:22SPEAKER_00: And it's this is it's hard.
- 30:24SPEAKER_00: He didn't want it to be hard.
- 30:27SPEAKER_00: In fact, he told us which tree to choose in the beginning so it wouldn't be hard.
- 30:32SPEAKER_00: We didn't do it.
- 30:36SPEAKER_00: And we've lived hard ever since.
- 30:39SPEAKER_00: I pray for a revelation with this word right here.
- 30:45SPEAKER_00: I pray that people get a revelation that they could never figure out on their own.
- 30:50SPEAKER_00: I pray that they that their eyes of our understanding would open so they could see how big and powerful this Savior is, how he has saved to the uttermost, how sin and inferiority and guilt and faults and flaws and none of those things have any bearing on your life existence, that you live in fullness of love and joy and peace.
- 31:16SPEAKER_00: And then you get to watch what that does in our lives and around the world.
- 31:22SPEAKER_00: You know, in this time that we're in, it's a good time to have joy and confidence and faith.
- 31:31SPEAKER_00: These are the things given to us in the fruit of the Spirit or in the kingdom of God.
- 31:36SPEAKER_00: These are the things that we want to acknowledge.
- 31:40SPEAKER_00: And I and I and I can assure you, if you if you can if you begin and then continue to live a life of acknowledging truth, truth will become your normal way of living.
- 31:51SPEAKER_00: You'll see whenever you look at all these situations, you'll look at truth.
- 31:55SPEAKER_00: You won't bel you won't easily believe all these lies.
- 31:57SPEAKER_00: Like in this situation we're in now, all these lies are being thrown around everywhere.
- 32:02SPEAKER_00: But you've you've been conditioned to hear and know truth.
- 32:07SPEAKER_00: And so you're steady and you're joyful, and you have peace, and you have confidence and assurance always.
- 32:15SPEAKER_00: For this is the work of righteousness and the effect of righteousness.
- 32:20SPEAKER_00: And you have that, and you've become very peaceful, very loving, and very discerning.
- 32:27SPEAKER_00: And the Lamb of God did this for even the weakest of those like me.
- 32:33SPEAKER_00: For the mo the in many ways, the dumbest of those like me.
- 32:43SPEAKER_00: My message is not be as wise as I am, my message is not be as good as I am, my message is not have the strength and willpower like I have.
- 32:55SPEAKER_00: Our message today is behold the Lamb of God, He's taken away all of your problem, all of your sin, all of your reason for inferiority, fear, shame, guilt, and has given you every reason for peace, love, and joy.
- 33:19SPEAKER_00: And as you experience that, you you'll if you if you haven't yet, you will agree that these are the powerful things of existence.
- 33:31SPEAKER_00: And this good news, as Paul said in Romans, this good news is the power of God unto deliverance.
- 33:38SPEAKER_00: When they said, come come and save us, this is exactly what he did.
- 33:44SPEAKER_00: He doesn't have to defeat your Romans in your life.
- 33:47SPEAKER_00: He doesn't have to defeat the situation, he doesn't have to even s necessarily stop the situations or the people that have been giving you trouble.
- 33:55SPEAKER_00: Oh, we can do that, and often does.
- 33:57SPEAKER_00: We all know that.
- 33:59SPEAKER_00: Faith is powerful.
- 34:02SPEAKER_00: But the real riches is not in avoiding this world, but in living big, big, big in this world.
- 34:11SPEAKER_00: And as and and as always, it's always centered around him, isn't it?
- 34:18SPEAKER_00: Think on him.
- 34:19SPEAKER_00: Be grateful to him this week.
- 34:22SPEAKER_00: Be grateful to him for your life, for your family.
- 34:25SPEAKER_00: Be grateful to him for the everlasting kingdom.
- 34:28SPEAKER_00: And be grateful to him for taking care of the power of all sin and all death.
- 34:35SPEAKER_00: Condemnation and fear in your life.
- 34:39SPEAKER_00: Father, I thank you right now for everybody in the sound of my voice, and I thank you, Father, for the power of your spirit to be good to us in this time, to be good to us and to do what only you can do.
- 34:50SPEAKER_00: That you have imparted to us by your spirit these things, but your spirit also is the one that shows us what you've freely given us.
- 34:57SPEAKER_00: Let everyone have a greater joy, let everyone that hears me have a greater sense of peace.
- 35:02SPEAKER_00: Let everyone be empowered right now by the Spirit of power.
- 35:08SPEAKER_00: That even right now, as they're hearing these words, they sensed an overflowing peace upon them, a flood of joy and goodness in their heart.
- 35:19SPEAKER_00: Just be good, Father, as you are in the way that you can.
- 35:24SPEAKER_00: And I pray this in our the name of our wonderful Savior, Jesus Christ.
- 35:30SPEAKER_00: Amen.
- 35:30SPEAKER_00: Hey guys, be blessed.
- 35:32SPEAKER_00: Have a great week.
- 35:34SPEAKER_00: Um we're we're planning an Easter sunrise service, so we'll be letting you more about that.
- 35:39SPEAKER_00: And that will be shown Easter morning, uh, very early Easter morning.
- 35:44SPEAKER_00: So uh if you want to, you can uh get up and watch that live.
- 35:48SPEAKER_00: Uh have a great week and be blessed.
- 35:50SPEAKER_00: I sure love you guys.
