- 0:14Speaker 1: Ladies and gentlemen, here's Bill Handle.
- 0:20Speaker 2: Hey, good morning, everybody, Handles your morning crew. It's a Monday,
- 0:24Speaker 2: June the once as we start Julie, and this is
- 0:30Speaker 2: the month. I was noticing last night that it is
- 0:34Speaker 2: very light outside. Even at eight o'clock it was still
- 0:40Speaker 2: pretty bright. And I'm thinking, I like daylight Savings time.
- 0:44Speaker 2: I just like it. And I'm one of those crowds
- 0:47Speaker 2: that just enjoy all right, Well, I think most people
- 0:52Speaker 2: that I know would love to keep Daylight Savings light.
- 0:55Speaker 2: I don't know anybody who wants to keep a day
- 0:57Speaker 2: standard time. All right, quick, hello Neil, good morning, Good morning, sir.
- 1:02Speaker 2: All right, you are here through Thursday, yes, the schedule,
- 1:07Speaker 2: and then you have your surgery. Okay, uh, and you're
- 1:11Speaker 2: still nope, Anna's not here, that's right.
- 1:13Speaker 3: And he's already gone.
- 1:15Speaker 2: That's right, she's already gone.
- 1:16Speaker 1: That's Michelle face you've seen for thirty years.
- 1:20Speaker 2: Thirty years. Hello Michelle, good morning, morning morning. She'll be
- 1:24Speaker 2: here for a couple of weeks, I think, Michelle, right, yes,
- 1:27Speaker 2: this weekend, next week Okay, Will, You're going to be
- 1:30Speaker 2: here as far as I know.
- 1:32Speaker 1: Good morning.
- 1:32Speaker 2: Well, unless you know you have a conversation with management,
- 1:35Speaker 2: which I understand is about to happen. But I want
- 1:38Speaker 2: to put I want to put you at ease, just
- 1:39Speaker 2: to let you know. AI is really hitting us pretty
- 1:43Speaker 2: good here. No guaranteed human. We're guaranteed human. Phil, Yeah,
- 1:48Speaker 2: we are guaranteed human. And Conell Hello, Bill, Yeah, Cone
- 1:54Speaker 2: I'm just thinking, Uh, whose job is most at risk?
- 1:59Speaker 2: Uh here in the morning. I would guess at this point,
- 2:04Speaker 2: if I had to guess, it would be Will's.
- 2:07Speaker 1: I hate to agree with you, but.
- 2:10Speaker 2: I think so. I think so because I would it
- 2:14Speaker 2: would be me.
- 2:15Speaker 4: But like the cadence and the different hosts and the
- 2:18Speaker 4: different spots and timing, I think that the needs a
- 2:20Speaker 4: physical presence.
- 2:21Speaker 2: Yeah, and with Will brings to the table. I mean
- 2:23Speaker 2: there are certain things that Will does bring to the table.
- 2:28Speaker 2: He eats a lot more than AI, for example, which
- 2:32Speaker 2: is really helpful.
- 2:33Speaker 1: Save iHeart on snacks.
- 2:34Speaker 3: Yeah, wow, empty out that snack drawer.
- 2:39Speaker 2: Do you know what the snack drawer? Michelle? We pay
- 2:42Speaker 2: for our own snacks here.
- 2:43Speaker 4: You pay for the snacks for the most part, right,
- 2:45Speaker 4: will donate for the snacks. But then I drive out
- 2:48Speaker 4: to yam of every week and get my two hundred
- 2:50Speaker 4: dollars gift card and I use that to buy snacks.
- 2:54Speaker 2: Yeah, that's the fourth one for I love. Yeah. Yeah,
- 2:57Speaker 2: that's the fourth floor. And you know what they do
- 2:59Speaker 2: on the fifth floor. The company gives uh, the employees
- 3:04Speaker 2: free snacks.
- 3:05Speaker 4: Well, they give us some free snacks.
- 3:07Speaker 2: It's just not all the snacks that we want, you know,
- 3:09Speaker 2: we get we get, we get the dregs, we get
- 3:11Speaker 2: the already used free snacks. Okay, the ones that people
- 3:16Speaker 2: just puke up.
- 3:17Speaker 1: What whatever, Woody doesn't finish, the Woody Show doesn't finish,
- 3:22Speaker 1: they bring them down here.
- 3:23Speaker 2: Yeah that's really great.
- 3:24Speaker 1: Yeah, half eat donuts.
- 3:27Speaker 2: And Amy, good morning to you, Hi Bill. Okay, so
- 3:30Speaker 2: we are here and there. You talked about going to
- 3:32Speaker 2: Disneyland by yourself.
- 3:34Speaker 3: Well, I wasn't supposed to be by myself. I was
- 3:36Speaker 3: meeting a friend, but he was like hours late.
- 3:38Speaker 4: So I Amy talked about how she doesn't like to
- 3:41Speaker 4: be by herself.
- 3:42Speaker 3: I do not.
- 3:43Speaker 2: No, I get it. I get it, and I'm just
- 3:45Speaker 2: saying that love it.
- 3:48Speaker 4: I love it like I love going on a vacation
- 3:50Speaker 4: by myself for a couple of days. I love going
- 3:52Speaker 4: to dinner by myself for you know everyone.
- 3:54Speaker 1: Hey, you and Tim are doing okay? Right?
- 3:57Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 3:58Speaker 4: No. I love my husband and we love going. But
- 4:00Speaker 4: sometimes we work opposite shifts, so I can't. I don't
- 4:03Speaker 4: see him at night. So sometimes I want to go
- 4:05Speaker 4: out to dinner and go by myself.
- 4:06Speaker 1: You know what that's called healthy human? Yes, be yourself.
- 4:11Speaker 1: Actually it's just.
- 4:12Speaker 3: Thanks a lot, Thanks a lot, neil Oh, I'm sorry.
- 4:14Speaker 2: She's got dogs, you got cats. I won't go out
- 4:17Speaker 2: and have dinner myself or go to an event. I
- 4:19Speaker 2: hear the company.
- 4:20Speaker 3: You hate the company?
- 4:22Speaker 2: Yeah, why would I go out? Why would I out
- 4:24Speaker 2: with someone that everybody hates, including me? Okay, what else
- 4:29Speaker 2: is going on? But did you have a miserable time
- 4:31Speaker 2: amy by yourself?
- 4:32Speaker 3: No, I had a nice time. I just and then
- 4:34Speaker 3: it once Nick showed up, it was more fun. But
- 4:37Speaker 3: it I just don't like wandering around the park by myself.
- 4:40Speaker 1: It's not good to choose everything, I.
- 4:42Speaker 3: Know, but it just isn't. It's a shared experience. That's
- 4:46Speaker 3: what makes it really fun.
- 4:47Speaker 2: And don't you get on rides much quicker if you're
- 4:49Speaker 2: a single.
- 4:51Speaker 3: If you do single rider. Yeah, but I wasn't really
- 4:53Speaker 3: riding rides where.
- 4:54Speaker 1: It's my single riders. Oh, my single riders.
- 4:56Speaker 2: All right, Uh, let's see what's going on now. Michelle
- 4:59Speaker 2: is here, Well, Neil is going to be gone on Friday.
- 5:03Speaker 2: No one is going to be taking his place, so
- 5:04Speaker 2: it'll be Amy and me that we'll be doing the
- 5:08Speaker 2: show after, but wake Up Call will still be Will
- 5:11Speaker 2: and Amy and Michelle's here for another two weeks when uh,
- 5:16Speaker 2: then we have the Lovely and returning, So we have
- 5:18Speaker 2: a really modified schedule or we're going to bring it.
- 5:22Speaker 1: To that of Chrisco to sub for me.
- 5:27Speaker 2: But it's right, he's having the he's having the yeah,
- 5:32Speaker 2: the surgery. No, yeah, you are. You're having a bariatric surgery.
- 5:36Speaker 2: You know you're not having the ruin. Why, right, you're
- 5:38Speaker 2: having this.
- 5:38Speaker 1: I'm having the barely active surgery.
- 5:40Speaker 2: Yeah, the barely active Yeah, the barely active surgery.
- 5:46Speaker 1: Real. They that's not what they call it. That's what
- 5:49Speaker 1: I've been calling it the whole time. I'm soorry.
- 5:51Speaker 2: No idea what they call it. That's veryatric It's a
- 5:54Speaker 2: sleep Come on, that was for you, kono.
- 5:58Speaker 1: Joke i'mtive you don't get that.
- 6:02Speaker 4: No, like you need the surgery because you're barely barely active.
- 6:10Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, and Wills someone that's got to be worried
- 6:16Speaker 1: about being replaced. You're the only one with a line
- 6:20Speaker 1: behind you, sir.
- 6:21Speaker 2: I'm I am furring. I am praying that they let
- 6:28Speaker 2: me go, praying. Matter of fact, every time there's a
- 6:31Speaker 2: management meeting, I go in and go, how about firing me? Huh,
- 6:35Speaker 2: it's on the table, it's on the table. No, it's
- 6:38Speaker 2: in the contract. So I'm one of those people that
- 6:43Speaker 2: I just go ahead. I'd love to have you deposit
- 6:47Speaker 2: the money in a bank account that I have on
- 6:49Speaker 2: the French riviera. Okay, let's do it all right, guys,
- 6:54Speaker 2: it's time for Handle on the news with Amy and
- 6:58Speaker 2: Neil and me lead story. Interesting story. Ballots were found
- 7:05Speaker 2: burnt h and a voting center in Long Beach was
- 7:09Speaker 2: vandalized and two two separate acts. Hmmm, that's ahead of
- 7:14Speaker 2: the just uh ahead of the primaries tomorrow. Huh. So
- 7:22Speaker 2: is this part and parcel of the voting is rigged? Well,
- 7:27Speaker 2: the Democrat wins absolutely, Well, it's not protected.
- 7:31Speaker 1: I think you could safely say.
- 7:34Speaker 2: Yeah, it's just, uh, it's I find that weird. Uh
- 7:38Speaker 2: it was was it in a It was in a
- 7:43Speaker 2: drop box?
- 7:43Speaker 3: Yeah, they said that. And not a ton of ballots
- 7:47Speaker 3: were burned, But sounds like somebody threw something like a
- 7:50Speaker 3: burning piece of paper into the drop box or something.
- 7:52Speaker 1: I think that's happened before.
- 7:54Speaker 2: It has happened before.
- 7:54Speaker 1: Yeah, we've heard about those.
- 7:56Speaker 3: There was also some vandalism at a voting center and
- 7:58Speaker 3: Long Beach, just some nuts. Stier's surgeon in the stretch.
- 8:06Speaker 3: A new poll released on Saturday shows that the California
- 8:11Speaker 3: race for governor could end up being two Democrats after all.
- 8:16Speaker 3: Democrat Tom Steyer has moved ahead of Republican Steve Hilton
- 8:21Speaker 3: in the battle for second place. In this poll, the
- 8:24Speaker 3: Emerson Poll found that Javier Bessera is leading with twenty
- 8:29Speaker 3: eight percent support. Styer has twenty two percent. Hilton was
- 8:33Speaker 3: close behind at twenty one percent. And then there was
- 8:36Speaker 3: another poll that was released the day before from the
- 8:39Speaker 3: Berkeley Institute of Governmental Studies. It had Bessera leading with
- 8:43Speaker 3: twenty five percent, Hilton at twenty one percent, and Styr
- 8:46Speaker 3: at nineteen percent.
- 8:47Speaker 2: Yeah, considering the money that Styer is spending it's going
- 8:51Speaker 2: to turn out to be. And I don't think I'm
- 8:53Speaker 2: exaggerating very much, probably about two hundred dollars per vote.
- 8:57Speaker 2: And if he had just offered me to hundred dollars,
- 9:00Speaker 2: I'd vote for him in a heartbeat. Why spend it
- 9:03Speaker 2: on ads? Just walk around? And there used to be,
- 9:06Speaker 2: you know, politics used to be that way, Money in
- 9:09Speaker 2: paper bags would go around. That's particularly New York Tammany Hall.
- 9:13Speaker 2: That's how people won the races. So now, unfortunately there
- 9:17Speaker 2: are no there are hoops that politicians have to drum
- 9:23Speaker 2: through before giving money to people. But anyway, we'll see
- 9:26Speaker 2: what happens tomorrow. Well, we'll talk a lot more about
- 9:29Speaker 2: this tomorrow in the following day as to who's going
- 9:32Speaker 2: for the mayor, who's the la the LA mayor's race
- 9:36Speaker 2: as well as the governor's race.
- 9:38Speaker 1: Okay, all right, so you've got all the candidates for
- 9:43Speaker 1: mayor running out, getting their face out there, shaking babies,
- 9:48Speaker 1: kissing faces, something like that, a lot of kiss and
- 9:53Speaker 1: shake in whatever's going out anyway, So you've got Camen Bass,
- 9:56Speaker 1: Nitia Rahman, and Spencer Pratt out in Los ange Tis
- 10:00Speaker 1: Bass of course, the incumbent, she was campaigning just yesterday
- 10:04Speaker 1: in Venice. Then she headed out to Pico Union. She
- 10:08Speaker 1: was pointing at her record, saying that there's been a
- 10:11Speaker 1: seventeen and a half percent drop in homelessness. I think,
- 10:16Speaker 1: no joke, that's probably the death rate of homeless people.
- 10:20Speaker 1: But that's just my thoughts. Lois homicide rate in the
- 10:25Speaker 1: city since the nineteen sixties, forty two thousand, affordable housing
- 10:31Speaker 1: units and all that stuff. And then you've got Raman
- 10:34Speaker 1: out there saying I love this, this is your campaigning.
- 10:38Speaker 1: I'm running because I have deep frustrations with the direction
- 10:41Speaker 1: of the city. Right now. You're on the city council,
- 10:45Speaker 1: You're a part of the problem. And then Pratt, this
- 10:48Speaker 1: is the best campaign stop ever. He did it. He
- 10:52Speaker 1: did it from a pothole. His stump speech was from
- 10:58Speaker 1: a hole in the ground. How how apropos is that
- 11:02Speaker 1: to Los Angeles?
- 11:03Speaker 2: So what do you think is going to resonate the
- 11:05Speaker 2: most unless you're specifically affected by crime, I don't know.
- 11:12Speaker 2: And then homelessness, I think is more unless you live
- 11:16Speaker 2: in the area like Neil does. He lives in an
- 11:19Speaker 2: area of homeless people. I don't think the rest of
- 11:21Speaker 2: us do. Wait, is that cono. Aren't you homeless? No,
- 11:26Speaker 2: he's not anyways, he's not even there. It goes to
- 11:29Speaker 2: show you he went off outside to check out how
- 11:32Speaker 2: his tent is doing.
- 11:33Speaker 1: Oh, as long as his mom's got a basement, he's good.
- 11:35Speaker 2: Yeah, that's true. And I think all of us were
- 11:38Speaker 2: affected by potholes one way or the other. Karen Bass
- 11:43Speaker 2: is you know what killed her. She would have been
- 11:45Speaker 2: a shoeing but for the fires and palisades. Yeah, that's
- 11:50Speaker 2: what killed her. Otherwise she would have had it in
- 11:52Speaker 2: a heartbeat. And it was even worse of her not
- 11:56Speaker 2: being here. She had promised she wouldn't go out of
- 11:59Speaker 2: the country, out of Los Angeles during her tenuere, and
- 12:02Speaker 2: the first thing she does is jump on an airplane
- 12:04Speaker 2: and go to Ghana.
- 12:06Speaker 1: The best thing to ever happened to her is having
- 12:09Speaker 1: Nythia Ramen run against her. I mean, who knows, maybe
- 12:15Speaker 1: Pratt will pull something out, but Nythia Ramen it is.
- 12:21Speaker 2: I think Karen Bass is going to still have it
- 12:23Speaker 2: because she has a democratic machine behind her.
- 12:25Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 12:27Speaker 3: Ceasefire?
- 12:28Speaker 2: What ceasefire?
- 12:29Speaker 3: The US is carried out what it says, we're self
- 12:32Speaker 3: dispense strikes in Iran over the weekend. The weekend strikes
- 12:38Speaker 3: targeted Iranian radar and command and control sites. Samkam is
- 12:44Speaker 3: saying they were done in response to aggressive Iranian actions
- 12:48Speaker 3: that included shooting down a US drone that was operating
- 12:52Speaker 3: over international waters. And then of course Iran said, hey,
- 12:55Speaker 3: you're breaching the ceasefire and they fired on US air
- 13:00Speaker 3: base apparently in Kuwait.
- 13:03Speaker 2: Yeah, we're not. Here's the problem, or here's the question
- 13:07Speaker 2: I have is that Iran has said they don't trust
- 13:11Speaker 2: anything the United States says because twice during some kind
- 13:15Speaker 2: of negotiations, the United States turned around and either ignored
- 13:18Speaker 2: it or dropped it or changed his mind. Okay, so
- 13:21Speaker 2: Iran legitimately says, how do we trust the United States?
- 13:25Speaker 2: The other thing I have a question, and that is,
- 13:27Speaker 2: as an American, how do I trust the United States?
- 13:31Speaker 2: Didn't we win the war the first hour? Didn't we
- 13:33Speaker 2: obliterate their ability to have a nuclear weapon and took
- 13:39Speaker 2: out all of their abilities? Didn't we wipe out their drones?
- 13:43Speaker 2: Wasn't the war going?
- 13:44Speaker 1: And is more trustworthy? Is that what you're saying?
- 13:50Speaker 2: No, I'm saying I don't trust Iran and I don't
- 13:53Speaker 2: trust the United States. You both they're both pointing at you,
- 13:56Speaker 2: so other ins basically saying liar, liar, pants on fire.
- 13:59Speaker 2: And they're both right. So we're gonna bomb me ron
- 14:05Speaker 2: By tonight at six o'clock. We're not going to We're
- 14:08Speaker 2: gonna make it. At six thirty. We're gonna have a peep.
- 14:11Speaker 2: We're talking peace. I know we're not.
- 14:13Speaker 1: So you think you think he Rod's going We don't
- 14:17Speaker 1: trust you. You said you were going to bomb us
- 14:18Speaker 1: and you didn't. We don't trust you. I bomb us already.
- 14:23Speaker 1: We don't trust you. All right, what's in a name? Well, apparently, Congress,
- 14:31Speaker 1: you've got Interior Secretary Doug Bergman Bergram Brother. He doesn't
- 14:37Speaker 1: want to commit to removing President Donald Trump's name from
- 14:40Speaker 1: the Kennedy Center. And this all comes because the judge
- 14:43Speaker 1: order says you got to remove it. He's saying, well,
- 14:46Speaker 1: we don't know if we're going to appeal or not.
- 14:48Speaker 1: But this is what people may not know. The US
- 14:51Speaker 1: District Judge Christopher Cooper wrote in his opinion that the
- 14:56Speaker 1: nineteen sixty four statute that led to the creation the
- 15:00Speaker 1: Kennedy Center's Center makes crystal clear that the center is
- 15:04Speaker 1: to be named for President John F. Kennedy. Only Congress
- 15:10Speaker 1: gave the Kennedy Center its name, and only Congress can
- 15:15Speaker 1: change it.
- 15:16Speaker 2: Yeah, I have two questions. Number One, I'm willing to
- 15:19Speaker 2: bet that the law that was established that the Kennedy
- 15:24Speaker 2: Center was to be created, does it say that only
- 15:29Speaker 2: Kennedy's name to be put on it. I doubt that
- 15:32Speaker 2: it could be in that case or where Trump is going.
- 15:34Speaker 2: That's one or two? Was it silent on that? And
- 15:39Speaker 2: just because Congress establishes something, does that mean Congress can
- 15:44Speaker 2: only Congress can change it? And I don't know. I
- 15:47Speaker 2: think it's appealable. Obviously, I haven't read the decision and
- 15:50Speaker 2: I haven't read the original law that created the Kennedy Center.
- 15:54Speaker 2: But I think it's just someone is saying in the
- 15:59Speaker 2: administration to President Trump, you know what, give up the
- 16:02Speaker 2: ghost on this one. You've got bigger, bigger fish to Friday.
- 16:06Speaker 1: What about money? Does the money question of him being
- 16:09Speaker 1: on money? Isn't that reserved for or isn't there clauses
- 16:13Speaker 1: says it can't be someone living?
- 16:16Speaker 2: No, that's the no. No, absolutely not. That is has
- 16:20Speaker 2: to do with with the dollar bill, has to do
- 16:23Speaker 2: with the currency. And I don't know if that's law.
- 16:26Speaker 1: I don't know. That's what I was talking about. I
- 16:28Speaker 1: was saying, does this although this is separate, what about
- 16:32Speaker 1: the money aspect? Doesn't money have to be someone no
- 16:37Speaker 1: longer living to be I don't know.
- 16:39Speaker 2: If that's the law. I don't know if that's law
- 16:42Speaker 2: or just policy.
- 16:43Speaker 4: You were asking about the law. It explicitly states that
- 16:47Speaker 4: the Kennedy Center is the sole national memorial to the
- 16:50Speaker 4: late John Fitzgerald Kennedy within the city of Washington, and
- 16:53Speaker 4: it's endeavors.
- 16:54Speaker 2: Okay.
- 16:54Speaker 4: Explicitly states Kennedy the soul, the sole one.
- 16:58Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm just trying to think. I'm putting my lawyer
- 17:03Speaker 2: hat on right now.
- 17:04Speaker 1: But the soul doesn't cover that.
- 17:07Speaker 2: No, it's the sole national what's the word again, we
- 17:12Speaker 2: want to repeat that phrase.
- 17:13Speaker 4: It's the sole national memorial to the late John Fitzgerald
- 17:18Speaker 4: Kennedy within the city of Washington, and it's environs.
- 17:21Speaker 1: Okay.
- 17:21Speaker 2: That doesn't necessarily say you can't add a name to it. Now,
- 17:25Speaker 2: it depends on Again, this is what the courts do.
- 17:28Speaker 2: This is how the courts interpret it. Because you've got
- 17:32Speaker 2: two sides. Both sides have an argument, both sides are wrong.
- 17:35Speaker 3: Cancel culture hits America two fifty. President Trump has called
- 17:39Speaker 3: for the cancelation of the concert celebrating America's two hundred
- 17:43Speaker 3: and fiftieth birthday because pretty much all the artists dropped out.
- 17:48Speaker 3: Trump wrote on truth Social that there should be a
- 17:51Speaker 3: giant make America Great Again rally instead, instead of having
- 17:56Speaker 3: overpriced singers who nobody wants to hear, who's music is boring,
- 18:01Speaker 3: and yet who do nothing but complain.
- 18:03Speaker 4: He's such a baby.
- 18:05Speaker 2: I know, I can't wait. Is there really going to
- 18:10Speaker 2: be a political rally to I just you know, the
- 18:16Speaker 2: more I think about it, to embrace the two hundred
- 18:19Speaker 2: and fiftieth anniversary of our country, to celebrate the two
- 18:22Speaker 2: fiftieth I hate all of you political rally with Trump.
- 18:26Speaker 2: Do you think he's gonna assuming that happens? You think
- 18:28Speaker 2: he's gonna start with The twenty twenty election was rigged,
- 18:34Speaker 2: of course.
- 18:35Speaker 1: I will tell you though he was right about the
- 18:38Speaker 1: whininess and complaining about people. It just got there was
- 18:42Speaker 1: some video of some wing nut walking his dog and
- 18:45Speaker 1: Breyer or something like that, and the cameras security cameras
- 18:48Speaker 1: caught him kicking down American flags on the grass. People
- 18:53Speaker 1: had placed out a Memorial Day. Everybody's a whiner. Yeah,
- 18:57Speaker 1: but we've gotten to this point where the American flag
- 19:00Speaker 1: is the enemy. It's asinine. You can't vulgar of.
- 19:05Speaker 2: Lindsay yesterday's Anybody who shows a flag, flies a flag
- 19:12Speaker 2: at any time encoding July fourth is considered is somehow
- 19:16Speaker 2: connected to being a trumpst.
- 19:17Speaker 1: That's so stupid, but it's true. But we're going to
- 19:20Speaker 1: tell you something. Trump ists, the Maga hats, and the
- 19:24Speaker 1: anti maga hats are the same people. They're face painters
- 19:27Speaker 1: at a baseball game. They are both obnoxious and self
- 19:32Speaker 1: righteous and ridiculous. Both sides equally offensive, and the rest
- 19:38Speaker 1: of us are in the middle and want to celebrate
- 19:41Speaker 1: the good times and who we are as No, there are.
- 19:45Speaker 2: A couple of differences. There are a couple of differences,
- 19:49Speaker 2: but are they enough? And I just want to point
- 19:51Speaker 2: this out, no value judgment. When's the last time you
- 19:54Speaker 2: heard of a Democrat, a deep Democrat, saying that this
- 20:00Speaker 2: Trump election, this last election was rateed.
- 20:03Speaker 1: No, they're not. No, Democrats don't do that, are republics.
- 20:06Speaker 1: Republicans don't do that.
- 20:08Speaker 2: Maga hattens did it? You know? Yeah, there's that's one.
- 20:13Speaker 2: You're right, but no one pays attention to Hillary. But yeah,
- 20:15Speaker 2: that's your point, that's that's the point. No, No, you're right.
- 20:18Speaker 2: You know al Gore leaned in there and then backed off.
- 20:21Speaker 2: And then there was the one in.
- 20:23Speaker 3: Georgia who still says that she won the Yes, what
- 20:26Speaker 3: was her name? Is she running for governor or a
- 20:28Speaker 3: mayor of Atlanta?
- 20:29Speaker 1: It happens, Bill, But the fact is, people go party blind,
- 20:34Speaker 1: and they're only blind to what the other party, uh,
- 20:37Speaker 1: what their party does, and not to the others. Maga hats,
- 20:41Speaker 1: anti maga hats, the exact same person, exact.
- 20:46Speaker 2: All right, I'll buy that. I think that's true. That's true,
- 20:49Speaker 2: except I enjoyed the maga hats on the President's desk
- 20:53Speaker 2: and at the cabinet meeting in front of everybody. Those
- 20:56Speaker 2: are fine. Uh, it's no, to be honest with you,
- 21:00Speaker 2: it is more entertaining on the Republican side. You have
- 21:02Speaker 2: to understand, you have to believe.
- 21:04Speaker 1: To the anti maga hats and to the maga hats.
- 21:07Speaker 1: It's more entertaining watching the crazy people on the left
- 21:10Speaker 1: hand side.
- 21:11Speaker 2: All right, I'll buy that. I'll buy that. Listen, Okay,
- 21:14Speaker 2: I'll get.
- 21:15Speaker 1: That all right. New cal Fresh work and community engagement
- 21:20Speaker 1: requirements are set to take effect today. Some say this
- 21:25Speaker 1: threatens food benefits for hundreds of thousands of people across
- 21:28Speaker 1: southern California and statewide. Others say, you know, if you
- 21:33Speaker 1: can work and you're healthy and don't have a disability,
- 21:36Speaker 1: then do something. Rules apply to people ages eighteen to
- 21:40Speaker 1: sixty four who do not have a disability and who
- 21:44Speaker 1: do not have a dependent child under age fourteen, and
- 21:48Speaker 1: the requirements. What they're looking for is that you must
- 21:54Speaker 1: prove that you're working or participating in training or completing
- 21:58Speaker 1: volunteer community service hours each month.
- 22:03Speaker 2: I don't know how many people would be against that.
- 22:05Speaker 2: Now it opens it up for fraud, of course, I
- 22:07Speaker 2: mean I would instantly, I would open up a job
- 22:10Speaker 2: search organization or facility helping people quote, helping people get work.
- 22:16Speaker 2: It's easy to do, but it's even easier to jome
- 22:21Speaker 2: with that. I think Clinton had much the same idea
- 22:23Speaker 2: with with his with the federal program.
- 22:28Speaker 1: Absolutely, yeah, I don't think it goes back to being
- 22:31Speaker 1: you know, party blind. Yeah.
- 22:34Speaker 2: And you can also and the food you know that
- 22:36Speaker 2: they give cal Fresh can be just day old, so
- 22:39Speaker 2: it's calum.
- 22:40Speaker 1: Not fresh almost fresh, was fresh yesterday.
- 22:45Speaker 2: Save a lot of money. Never noticed the day old
- 22:48Speaker 2: stuff on the market. You save a lot of money.
- 22:50Speaker 1: They used to have a hostess day old place.
- 22:53Speaker 2: Oh, there is a round section of it.
- 22:56Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 23:02Speaker 3: Mosquito release in the works. So Google is trying to
- 23:07Speaker 3: debug America, specifically California and Florida. It's asking the EPA
- 23:12Speaker 3: to approve its plan to release up to thirty two
- 23:14Speaker 3: million mosquitos in California and Florida. It's part of its
- 23:18Speaker 3: debug program. They say they want to stop bad bugs
- 23:22Speaker 3: with good bugs.
- 23:24Speaker 2: First of all, it's kind of clever. I mean, it's necessary,
- 23:26Speaker 2: and we don't want mosquitos, and it's probably the ultimate
- 23:32Speaker 2: product placement. We're going to debug your area.
- 23:38Speaker 3: Haven't they done this before in Orange County? Yeah, they
- 23:42Speaker 3: released the sterile mosquitos.
- 23:43Speaker 2: It works, it works. It's a big deal though, releasing
- 23:46Speaker 2: sterile people.
- 23:48Speaker 3: They're not people, they're mosquitosh.
- 23:50Speaker 2: Yeah, that's true. I was going to go into a
- 23:51Speaker 2: whole releasing sterile people concept, but I would get in
- 23:54Speaker 2: a lot of trouble, So we're going to leave it
- 23:55Speaker 2: at that.
- 23:56Speaker 1: Okay, they frown about that kind of talk.
- 24:00Speaker 2: That's why I mentioned it and then we're moving on.
- 24:02Speaker 1: Oh the way, all right, Honda's recalling a butt ton
- 24:06Speaker 1: nearly one hundred thousand vehicles. This all has to deal
- 24:09Speaker 1: with air bag complications. This comes out from the National
- 24:13Speaker 1: Highway Traffic Safety Administration. They flagged a defect that could
- 24:18Speaker 1: trigger the unintentional deployment of airbags and is you know,
- 24:23Speaker 1: it's not like it's pneumatic. It's like an explosive charge
- 24:27Speaker 1: in those things. So the models are just it's about everything.
- 24:33Speaker 1: So you've got Honda Civic, Honda Cord, Honda Cord Hybrid,
- 24:38Speaker 1: Honda Civic, Hatchback, all kinds. So if you've got a Honda,
- 24:42Speaker 1: check it out.
- 24:43Speaker 2: And yeah, there's a list there somewhere.
- 24:45Speaker 3: Who knew a road could be so smart? Who knew
- 24:48Speaker 3: a road could be smart? Anyway, But California is unveiling
- 24:53Speaker 3: its first smart freeway. Goes into operation today. It's along
- 24:58Speaker 3: the fifteen Freeway cord or or northbound fifteen from the
- 25:02Speaker 3: San Diego Riverside County line in Temecula to the fifteen
- 25:06Speaker 3: two fifteen Freeway interchange in Murrieta. What is a smart freeway? Well,
- 25:10Speaker 3: apparently they're putting in ramp meters and which we have
- 25:15Speaker 3: all over the place, so I don't understand why this
- 25:17Speaker 3: is smart. But and then digital messages along an eight
- 25:21Speaker 3: mile stretch of freeway with recommended speeds that will help
- 25:25Speaker 3: improve safety in the flow of traffic to drivers in
- 25:27Speaker 3: real time.
- 25:29Speaker 2: That's it. The magic here is in real time because
- 25:31Speaker 2: if you look at the on ramps where they have
- 25:34Speaker 2: the green light red light, it's like romper room the
- 25:37Speaker 2: green light red light that But those are timed for
- 25:41Speaker 2: the time of day. Those are not. They don't measure
- 25:44Speaker 2: the traffic flow.
- 25:45Speaker 3: So this one apparently will keep you off of the
- 25:49Speaker 3: freeway until it decides it nice it's time for you
- 25:52Speaker 3: to go. So you might have to wait for twenty
- 25:53Speaker 3: minutes to get on the way.
- 25:54Speaker 2: Well you have to wait for twenty minutes, but you
- 25:56Speaker 2: might wait for a minute or two and just right now,
- 25:59Speaker 2: it's literally right now, is just a second or two
- 26:01Speaker 2: just to keep so you don't have gridlock on that
- 26:04Speaker 2: on ramp.
- 26:05Speaker 1: People aren't gonna do that, probably not, They're just gonna
- 26:09Speaker 1: it's a red light. They're just gonna drive on.
- 26:12Speaker 2: Well, it's a two year project.
- 26:13Speaker 3: It'll be interesting to see if it has an impact
- 26:15Speaker 3: because traffic on that fifteen has gotten really bad to
- 26:18Speaker 3: your project.
- 26:19Speaker 1: I can't wait to see it in six years. Yeah,
- 26:21Speaker 1: CBS is looking to pin down Joe Rogan. Get this.
- 26:25Speaker 1: So they're looking at, you know, sixty minutes. They're thinking
- 26:30Speaker 1: of replacing Anderson Cooper. You've got Joe Rogan, who some
- 26:36Speaker 1: say is conservative, others say he's just an interesting, kind
- 26:41Speaker 1: of out there guy, going back and forth. You decide.
- 26:46Speaker 1: But this huge move was reported in Radar online dot com.
- 26:50Speaker 1: Some people are panicking and figuring out, well, what's going
- 26:54Speaker 1: to happen to it? But they're looking to turn things
- 26:58Speaker 1: up that I mean sixteen minutes.
- 27:01Speaker 2: Yeah, but sixty minutes has already had its hits. It's
- 27:03Speaker 2: got some it has had its hits in terms of credibility.
- 27:09Speaker 1: But the whole thing is that it doesn't have it
- 27:11Speaker 1: doesn't have anybody watching it anymore.
- 27:14Speaker 2: That's the whole point. That's why they want to put
- 27:16Speaker 2: Joe Rogan in there, and especially the people they're not
- 27:18Speaker 2: watching it as demographic, the demographic they're going after it.
- 27:22Speaker 2: You know, I watched sixty minutes religiously, and you know,
- 27:25Speaker 2: I'm one hundred and fifty years old. One quick point
- 27:27Speaker 2: before we break on this one. And that is if
- 27:32Speaker 2: you look at what these anchors and what these national
- 27:36Speaker 2: reporters are doing, even local reporters, they all have fifteen jobs. Yeah,
- 27:42Speaker 2: on dateline, they're on you know, they're specials. And Anderson
- 27:46Speaker 2: Cooper says, basically that's enough. You know, I don't want
- 27:49Speaker 2: to work or fourteen different segments and specials. And so
- 27:55Speaker 2: that's why he's bailing out.
- 27:56Speaker 1: He says, under what that feels like work in a
- 27:59Speaker 1: bunch of different jobs shows?
- 28:04Speaker 2: Yeah, well I work too, thank you.
- 28:07Speaker 1: Yeah, I work three and I'm on with Conway every Friday,
- 28:11Speaker 1: so i do a double shift.
- 28:13Speaker 2: So yeah, that's exactly the point. That is the point. Okay,
- 28:17Speaker 2: we're done, guys. The key race is primary election tomorrow.
- 28:21Speaker 2: We're going to talk about the governor's race, and we're
- 28:24Speaker 2: going to talk about the mayor of LA. And you know,
- 28:28Speaker 2: since i'm Orange County and I'm registered in Orange County,
- 28:31Speaker 2: I don't even know who is running. That's how much
- 28:34Speaker 2: I care this year. Literally, how much I care this year.
- 28:39Speaker 1: Huge for governor and huge for mayor.
- 28:42Speaker 2: I understand, but I'm inured to this in terms of
- 28:47Speaker 2: just craziness. I mean, the last time I was this
- 28:50Speaker 2: disaffected and this uninterested. Was when Hillary Clinton was running
- 28:56Speaker 2: against against Donald Trump and I voted for Remember Corembe
- 29:02Speaker 2: the dead gorilla out of the Cincinnati Zoo. There was
- 29:05Speaker 2: a Corumba. Whatever I wrote that show.
- 29:08Speaker 1: I wrote that was a rite in what it was like,
- 29:13Speaker 1: h Corumbai or whatever I mean.
- 29:16Speaker 2: All Right, so he didn't win anyway, So my misspelling
- 29:18Speaker 2: really didn't affect it very much. Okay, by the way,
- 29:21Speaker 2: that is true. That is exactly who I wrote in. Okay,
- 29:24Speaker 2: we're done, guys, coming out primary election tomorrow. We'll go
- 29:27Speaker 2: through it a little bit. This is KFI AM six forty.
- 29:31Speaker 2: You've been listening to the Bill Handle Show. Catch my
- 29:33Speaker 2: show Monday through Friday six am to nine am, and
- 29:37Speaker 2: anytime on demand on the iHeartRadio app.
