Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Hey, it's Miller from Black Reno and we're here to
- 0:04Speaker 1: chat about our new tour and a new single which
- 0:06Speaker 1: is about to come out. We're premiere with heavy which
- 0:09Speaker 1: is which is called Chopping Heads Wearing Fancy Threads and
- 0:13Speaker 1: it is a I've been calling it a sludge fury banger.
- 0:17Speaker 2: Lud fury banger. That sounds about right to me.
- 0:19Speaker 1: Ryan, Thanks for joining us, brother, thanks for having us Chrispy.
- 0:23Speaker 2: Oh pleasure.
- 0:24Speaker 3: So as you say, Black Reno premiere your new song
- 0:26Speaker 3: Chopping Heads Wearing Fancy Threads on Monday, February the sevent
- 0:30Speaker 3: eighth at midday Southern time.
- 0:32Speaker 2: Bye.
- 0:32Speaker 1: Have you so?
- 0:33Speaker 2: How you feeling, mate?
- 0:35Speaker 1: Yeah, good man. We we've just yeah, we've just been
- 0:39Speaker 1: really busy and just getting busier and loving it. Essentially.
- 0:46Speaker 1: We've got an album we recorded over in the States
- 0:50Speaker 1: about a year ago, which we're sort of sitting on
- 0:52Speaker 1: at the moment because we're just waiting for the right
- 0:53Speaker 1: time to release it, and we just wanted to keep
- 0:58Speaker 1: putting out music in the meantime and just building the
- 1:02Speaker 1: band and just you know, playing shows and giving ourselves
- 1:05Speaker 1: excuses to go and do stuff. And I've got I've
- 1:08Speaker 1: got a studio, so we you know, we do a
- 1:09Speaker 1: bunch of recording ourselves, and this single and the next
- 1:12Speaker 1: couple and the last one we put out are all
- 1:14Speaker 1: self produced by us. And yeah, we're just getting out
- 1:19Speaker 1: playing shows, doing what we love, you know, just yeah,
- 1:23Speaker 1: cranking it up. We've got more tours booked for later
- 1:26Speaker 1: in the year. We've I've pretty much got us booked
- 1:29Speaker 1: up with shows to November. So this year is going
- 1:31Speaker 1: to be busy.
- 1:32Speaker 3: Oh yeah, you know, I got to say, before we
- 1:35Speaker 3: go any further, mate, like, where do you come up
- 1:37Speaker 3: with the song titles like chopping heads, wearing fantsy threads,
- 1:41Speaker 3: what the fucking?
- 1:42Speaker 2: Where the fuck?
- 1:44Speaker 1: Well, you know, as everybody knows we are the best
- 1:47Speaker 1: fucking dressed people in town, and people also know that
- 1:51Speaker 1: when we come to other people's towns we tend to
- 1:54Speaker 1: chop their heads off. It's common knowledge. So it just
- 1:58Speaker 1: makes sense to name the two with that and a
- 2:00Speaker 1: song that. Now, man, I'm just taking the piss, and
- 2:03Speaker 1: that's what the song is. The song's just taking the
- 2:04Speaker 1: piss essentially, Like it's it's a fun one. This isn't
- 2:07Speaker 1: you know this? We're not getting deep and emotional in
- 2:09Speaker 1: this song. It's just like straight up cocky, fucking hey,
- 2:14Speaker 1: this is who we are, this is what we're doing,
- 2:16Speaker 1: and we're gonna come to your town or we're gonna
- 2:17Speaker 1: rip it up. But it's also tongue in cheek. It's like,
- 2:22Speaker 1: we're gonna come to the town, come to you know,
- 2:24Speaker 1: we're gonna go play shows. We're gonna come to your town.
- 2:26Speaker 1: We're gonna rip it up on stage, We're gonna we're
- 2:28Speaker 1: gonna have a night. But we're also if you look
- 2:31Speaker 1: into the lyrics of the song, if you can understand
- 2:34Speaker 1: what's being said, I'm yelling a lot, but like you know,
- 2:38Speaker 1: it's like, are we coming to play show or are
- 2:40Speaker 1: we coming to kidnap and talk to you and murder
- 2:43Speaker 1: you with with fucking with a DS one distortion pedal.
- 2:46Speaker 1: You know, we're chopping heads, wearing fancy threads, we're wearing
- 2:49Speaker 1: our finest clothes, and we're come on in, you know,
- 2:53Speaker 1: give you one. So it's a pretty fun, man. There's
- 2:57Speaker 1: some pretty funny sort of lyrics in this one. You know,
- 3:00Speaker 1: like I kind of ripped a bit of Elvis off
- 3:02Speaker 1: where you know he kind of does that shake rattle
- 3:05Speaker 1: and roll, shake, rattle and roll, says cheap rattle, and
- 3:08Speaker 1: I've sort of reworded it in the bridge and gone, shank,
- 3:12Speaker 1: grab them and go, because we're coming in there. We're
- 3:14Speaker 1: gonna shank people. We're gonna grab them, we're gonna go,
- 3:16Speaker 1: We're gonna throw them in the van, and you're never escaping.
- 3:19Speaker 1: You know. It's just us having some fun. Not every
- 3:20Speaker 1: song's got to be anger and emotional and whatnot. And
- 3:25Speaker 1: we've got those songs to you. Don't worry. I can
- 3:27Speaker 1: get emotional, but this one's this one's fun.
- 3:30Speaker 3: I'm on that subject, mate. Like a lot of Black
- 3:32Speaker 3: Reino's music is tongue in chee. Can base around fun.
- 3:34Speaker 3: But how you find it in the modern society where
- 3:37Speaker 3: people take offense if you don't spell their name properly,
- 3:40Speaker 3: like do you do? You find you have to sort
- 3:41Speaker 3: of sense yourself a bit, or sense your ideas a bit.
- 3:45Speaker 1: I don't think so. I don't think we have to
- 3:46Speaker 1: sensor anything we do because because we are just having fun.
- 3:54Speaker 1: I mean, look a lot of our stuff serious, man,
- 3:56Speaker 1: there's heaps of serious lyrics and probably most most of
- 3:59Speaker 1: the songs really are have have a serious point. But
- 4:02Speaker 1: we do make sure that I don't know, but every
- 4:04Speaker 1: now and again it's just good to have some fun
- 4:06Speaker 1: as well. But I don't think we're like self censoring
- 4:08Speaker 1: or anything like that. You know, like I don't have
- 4:11Speaker 1: any like massive social political fucking topics that I personally
- 4:15Speaker 1: need to get on a rant on. It's not really
- 4:19Speaker 1: my thing, although we have in some things. I mean
- 4:22Speaker 1: that song No Time for Numb Nuts that basically is
- 4:25Speaker 1: an anti discrimination song saying like, you know, likes just
- 4:29Speaker 1: sticking up for everybody basically it's but no, Yeah, to
- 4:35Speaker 1: answer that question, No, I don't think we self censor.
- 4:38Speaker 1: I think we just man, we just have fun lot. Yeah,
- 4:41Speaker 1: I don't know, I don't know. I don't think about
- 4:44Speaker 1: it too much to be honest.
- 4:45Speaker 3: Man, Well don't start now just because I mentioned it.
- 4:50Speaker 3: You've described the song earlier as a sludge banger, but
- 4:53Speaker 3: there's so much more going on than that, Like, how
- 4:57Speaker 3: would you describe the song musically made Like it just
- 4:59Speaker 3: comes out to like about out of hell and just
- 5:02Speaker 3: doesn't let go.
- 5:03Speaker 1: Yeah, it's got the like it's it's not a sludge
- 5:07Speaker 1: song for sure, but it's got sludgy tones and things
- 5:10Speaker 1: like that, which is sort of, you know, a bit
- 5:12Speaker 1: about thing we've always got that sort of Nana's got
- 5:14Speaker 1: that guitar tone and and we've sort of rockified ourselves
- 5:18Speaker 1: a bit more over the years as well, but it's
- 5:19Speaker 1: always there. And but it's more of a like hardcorey punk,
- 5:25Speaker 1: like it's sludge punk. I wouldn't call it sluge. It's
- 5:27Speaker 1: like a sludgy punk sort of thing, you know. And yeah,
- 5:33Speaker 1: it's just it's just one to get the energy going. Man,
- 5:36Speaker 1: It's like full circle pit sort of stuff, you know,
- 5:38Speaker 1: Like it's just high energy, like let's fucking rip in
- 5:43Speaker 1: kind of a tune. Really just yeah energy, it's built
- 5:47Speaker 1: to it's built to play live, that's for sure. It's
- 5:51Speaker 1: definitely that kind of tune.
- 5:53Speaker 3: Now, Black Rein over one of those bands like you've
- 5:57Speaker 3: you've got your own sound in that someone hears a
- 5:59Speaker 3: Black Reino song and you know that it's you guys,
- 6:02Speaker 3: which which I think is a great thing. But is
- 6:04Speaker 3: that something that you're conscious of when writing music or
- 6:06Speaker 3: is it so just come on naturally.
- 6:09Speaker 1: I don't think so it's not. I don't think we
- 6:10Speaker 1: sort of went, hey, this is and thank you for that,
- 6:13Speaker 1: because that's quite a compliment. And if that's the case,
- 6:16Speaker 1: then it's not. It's I mean, like I don't know,
- 6:21Speaker 1: it's just your personality is your personality. And I think
- 6:23Speaker 1: because we know with our guitar styles, like you know,
- 6:26Speaker 1: we've just got one guitarist he plays through an octave
- 6:29Speaker 1: pedal into a bass rig, so you know there's that.
- 6:32Speaker 1: There's that, and there's other people that do it to
- 6:34Speaker 1: do that as well, and like you know, like like
- 6:36Speaker 1: fucking Astro Death do that. And when I hear an
- 6:38Speaker 1: Astro song, man, I know it's an astro song. So
- 6:41Speaker 1: but that I don't think that comes down to our setup.
- 6:44Speaker 1: I think that comes down to just, yeah, that a
- 6:47Speaker 1: band that has some personality. I guess hopefully we've got
- 6:50Speaker 1: some and they're a band that definitely does and yeah,
- 6:55Speaker 1: I think, yeah, I don't know, man, we just we
- 6:57Speaker 1: just write what we feel like like sometimes you know,
- 7:00Speaker 1: we're writing fucking really heavy, aggressive ship and sometimes we're
- 7:03Speaker 1: writing really rocky stuff. For me, it's all within that
- 7:06Speaker 1: sludgy realm, that sludgy tone, the stonery, sludgy groovy. It's
- 7:12Speaker 1: always always trying to find the grooves, always trying to
- 7:14Speaker 1: slip in some groove, but it's always in that sort
- 7:19Speaker 1: of realm and I mean, yeah, just you know, I guess,
- 7:22Speaker 1: I don't know. Man, if we if we sound we have,
- 7:24Speaker 1: if we have a sound that sounds like us, then
- 7:26Speaker 1: fucking awesome.
- 7:29Speaker 3: Chopping heads where Fantasy Threads follows your first single in
- 7:33Speaker 3: a couple of years, which came out late last year
- 7:35Speaker 3: called Lake Will Rattle. You've mentioned before that you've got
- 7:38Speaker 3: an album's REDI material Wait to Go. So are those
- 7:40Speaker 3: songs taken from that or are they just.
- 7:42Speaker 1: They're completely completely new? So you know, we want to like,
- 7:48Speaker 1: we went went over to the States and recorded with Machine,
- 7:51Speaker 1: the producer. He's done like, you know, two Lamb of
- 7:53Speaker 1: God records, four Clutch records. Every time I die, Like
- 7:57Speaker 1: the list goes on, you know, fucking suicide silence, all
- 8:00Speaker 1: sorts of Like he's like one of those you know,
- 8:03Speaker 1: like he's produced, like as a music produced myself, he's
- 8:07Speaker 1: one of those people that I look up to and
- 8:08Speaker 1: we all look up to for his work and history
- 8:12Speaker 1: and stuff. And so we sort of we went on
- 8:15Speaker 1: this crazy adventure over there to record with him and
- 8:17Speaker 1: do an album and get someone else to do because
- 8:19Speaker 1: I've recorded everything that we've done that everything we've released
- 8:22Speaker 1: has been recorded at my studio, just to mix it
- 8:26Speaker 1: up and do something different, you know, just to get
- 8:30Speaker 1: a different opinion more than anything on what we're doing,
- 8:32Speaker 1: and outside an outside set of years and opinions. And
- 8:38Speaker 1: we want to make sure when that time comes to release,
- 8:40Speaker 1: that we can execute it, not just in terms of
- 8:45Speaker 1: putting out like cool clips and stuff, but you know,
- 8:48Speaker 1: we want to we want to do some pretty special
- 8:50Speaker 1: stuff around it, and that's what we're trying to organize.
- 8:53Speaker 1: And we've also got to give ourselves time that you know,
- 8:55Speaker 1: we've got to be realistic. We're an independent Australian band
- 8:58Speaker 1: playing sludge metal. You know, we don't earn like fucking
- 9:02Speaker 1: massive amounts of money. We're all chipping in and we've
- 9:05Speaker 1: got to sort of just essentially make sure that we
- 9:07Speaker 1: can do that at a time where we can put
- 9:10Speaker 1: everything in the right order, in the right place that
- 9:12Speaker 1: we can give it the right attention that it deserves.
- 9:16Speaker 1: So we're going to hold that off until I would
- 9:18Speaker 1: say next year, and then we're just gonna and well,
- 9:23Speaker 1: you know, we are lucky that we're in a position
- 9:26Speaker 1: where we can write, record, mix and master everything ourselves.
- 9:32Speaker 1: We've got a great studio, we've got a great space
- 9:34Speaker 1: for it. So instead of sort of waiting or rushing
- 9:38Speaker 1: to get something out, which is something you know, I'm
- 9:40Speaker 1: sure we've all you know, especially you and I both
- 9:44Speaker 1: work in the music industry, have seen bands that have
- 9:47Speaker 1: like so frothing and excited about the new thing that
- 9:50Speaker 1: they've done, and they just just plan, they just want
- 9:53Speaker 1: to get it out and they don't really give themselves time. Yeah,
- 9:56Speaker 1: they don't give themselves enough time to execute execute it
- 9:59Speaker 1: as well. They've executed writing those songs, Like it's like, Wow,
- 10:02Speaker 1: You've spent four years writing these songs and then you
- 10:04Speaker 1: just went, it's done, let's put it out, and then
- 10:06Speaker 1: it's out and then it's done. Whereas you know, what
- 10:08Speaker 1: we end up doing for the release of the album
- 10:10Speaker 1: when that comes out is yet to be determined. But
- 10:14Speaker 1: we're trying to do some cool shit. So we'll wait
- 10:17Speaker 1: off until we've got a good plan around it and
- 10:19Speaker 1: then yeah, this year we'll just keep putting out music.
- 10:22Speaker 1: You know, we're gonna we're gonna be doing another tour
- 10:24Speaker 1: in the middle of the year, different places everywhere. Touring
- 10:27Speaker 1: is going to be different places, and just man, there's
- 10:32Speaker 1: some cool stuff. There's just some cool things lined up.
- 10:34Speaker 1: There's a really cool festival coming up later in the
- 10:36Speaker 1: year which I'm not sure I'm allowed to announce yet,
- 10:38Speaker 1: but but it's close to where you live, my friend, and.
- 10:41Speaker 2: I know exactly what true you're talking about.
- 10:43Speaker 1: Yeah, you know what I'm talking about. And then and
- 10:46Speaker 1: you know, we're getting over to Perth, so that we're
- 10:48Speaker 1: heading to Perth for the first time since before COVID
- 10:53Speaker 1: for the Splits and Riffs Festival, which has got like
- 10:56Speaker 1: Green Leaf from Sweden headlining it. There's carn there's Smoke which,
- 11:01Speaker 1: there's there's a bunch of really cool bands playing. Yeah,
- 11:04Speaker 1: we're just lucky, man. We're just going to keep We're
- 11:06Speaker 1: just going to keep booking shows and we've got yeah,
- 11:09Speaker 1: we've got heaps of gigs booked in and we're just
- 11:11Speaker 1: going to keep doing it basically and putting out new
- 11:14Speaker 1: music and just keeping the wheels turning. And then then
- 11:17Speaker 1: in the new year, you know, just planning ahead, man,
- 11:20Speaker 1: planning for a brighter future for tomorrow, my friend.
- 11:23Speaker 2: A beautiful thing, isn't it.
- 11:24Speaker 1: Oh, it's wonderful.
- 11:27Speaker 3: It's mad fun Splits the Rigs Festival Broa on March
- 11:32Speaker 3: a second. That's actually the start of a running shows
- 11:34Speaker 3: for you that also sees you visit Katoomba, Port Macquarie's,
- 11:38Speaker 3: Central Coast, Dubbo and Orange and then finishes in Sydney
- 11:41Speaker 3: on April the twelfth.
- 11:42Speaker 2: Like, that's the short run of dates.
- 11:44Speaker 3: For you, but there's some pretty pretty out of the
- 11:46Speaker 3: way places you plan there.
- 11:48Speaker 1: Yeah, it's a different run that would normally do, and
- 11:50Speaker 1: we've sort of done that intentionally some regional shows, some
- 11:54Speaker 1: places like Dubbo, like d Up like fucking Dubble, like
- 11:57Speaker 1: what we've never played there before, or I just you know,
- 12:01Speaker 1: we wanted to go to a couple of spots that
- 12:03Speaker 1: we've just never been. Like, you know, we've all traveled
- 12:05Speaker 1: around this country a lot of times now, so it's
- 12:07Speaker 1: good to go to new places. And you know, some
- 12:11Speaker 1: of these places, you know, we've had requests like hey,
- 12:13Speaker 1: what are you guys going to get out here? You know,
- 12:15Speaker 1: so we're just just putting the effort in to do it.
- 12:19Speaker 1: And then yeah, so yeah, it's it's kind of a
- 12:21Speaker 1: shorter run that we might normally do on a tour,
- 12:23Speaker 1: but it's it's got some interesting spots on it. And
- 12:26Speaker 1: then like like Central Coast, I don't think we've played.
- 12:28Speaker 1: We've played one show on the Central Coast before, so
- 12:33Speaker 1: it's going to be sick and we've got Man, there's
- 12:35Speaker 1: some really cool bands where we're leaking up with the
- 12:38Speaker 1: Contumber shows off its head, Black ant King, No, I
- 12:44Speaker 1: can't pronounce the name, really bad boys, very bad at
- 12:49Speaker 1: pronouncing some metal band names. And I cast the plane No,
- 12:55Speaker 1: you know, you know the fucking drama from twelve Gay Rampage. Yeah, Luke,
- 13:00Speaker 1: what's his other band called?
- 13:02Speaker 2: Try and put me into ship just because you can't
- 13:04Speaker 2: remember Ben Nate.
- 13:05Speaker 1: Man, I'm just so bad. It mean, I'm just not
- 13:09Speaker 1: I'm not very I'm not very sophisticated. Okay, I can't
- 13:12Speaker 1: spell and read good.
- 13:16Speaker 3: I'll just say someone's listening to list that are in
- 13:18Speaker 3: one of those out of the way places that hasn't
- 13:20Speaker 3: really heard of Black Reno before, but he's thinking about
- 13:22Speaker 3: checking out what three songs are yours should they listen
- 13:25Speaker 3: to before they go to a show to get get
- 13:27Speaker 3: acquainted with the band.
- 13:29Speaker 1: Well, obviously chopping heads wearing fancy threads because that's the
- 13:32Speaker 1: new single, and then probably I mean a classic banger
- 13:39Speaker 1: of ours is no time for numb Nuts. That's that's
- 13:42Speaker 1: always a crowd favorite, and then maybe Vortex is one
- 13:46Speaker 1: of my favorites to play live. Obviously, there's the one
- 13:49Speaker 1: we just released as well. Snake Will Rattle is a
- 13:51Speaker 1: new one. But you know, if you go to the
- 13:54Speaker 1: Spotify and you hit the top most listened songs, they
- 13:57Speaker 1: will give you a pretty good idea.
- 14:00Speaker 2: Before we let you go.
- 14:00Speaker 3: Mate, I've got a new segment I've started called photo Bomb,
- 14:03Speaker 3: So basically I'll troll through your social media before we
- 14:06Speaker 3: chat and find a few photos and asked you got
- 14:10Speaker 3: off pretty lightly, actually, mate, I found this one that
- 14:13Speaker 3: was taken in the Goya.
- 14:14Speaker 2: Now what we're just doing over there?
- 14:17Speaker 1: Oh? That was on the I Hate God tour back
- 14:21Speaker 1: in twenty nineteen. That was the album launch tour that
- 14:24Speaker 1: we did, and we did yeah with I Hate God.
- 14:29Speaker 1: We did Australia, Japan, New Zealand fourteen shows and seventeen
- 14:32Speaker 1: days across three countries. So for us, that was that
- 14:35Speaker 1: was sort of probably our biggest tour we've done yet,
- 14:37Speaker 1: or on the most hectic one anyway, not the biggest,
- 14:40Speaker 1: but the most hectic. Oh it was a fucking pretty
- 14:42Speaker 1: good one anyway. And yeah, that was the for the
- 14:44Speaker 1: release of the album, our first album, what's it called
- 14:48Speaker 1: a Noise Smasher?
- 14:49Speaker 3: It was indeed, And how the Japanese people take to you?
- 14:52Speaker 3: Did they like your brand of music?
- 14:54Speaker 1: Oh? Man, it was. It was fucking mental. And at
- 14:57Speaker 1: the time we were doing this thing where we you know,
- 14:59Speaker 1: like we have in this like funny walk on so
- 15:01Speaker 1: we had like, you know, there's that dude on YouTube
- 15:03Speaker 1: that plays like the intros of movies and theme songs
- 15:06Speaker 1: with a recorder and missus notes and plays it really bad.
- 15:09Speaker 1: I don't know if you've seen this guy. So he
- 15:10Speaker 1: does this one of of what's that what's that movie
- 15:14Speaker 1: about the boat that sinks Titanic? So we were doing
- 15:18Speaker 1: this thing where we'd play that and I'd walk out
- 15:20Speaker 1: pretending to play it with a recorder, and we, like
- 15:22Speaker 1: you just everyone was sort of getting it in Oz
- 15:25Speaker 1: and cracking up, but in Japan they were just like,
- 15:28Speaker 1: who the fuck are these Aussies and why are they?
- 15:30Speaker 1: Like why are they playing the Titanic theme song? Like
- 15:33Speaker 1: as they're like it was just so funny, we just
- 15:35Speaker 1: got They were just so stunned, and then you know,
- 15:38Speaker 1: the counting would start and then it's just like bang
- 15:40Speaker 1: into like a fucking crazy tune and the room would
- 15:43Speaker 1: have erupt but we got some pretty funny looks. But
- 15:45Speaker 1: the the shows there were nuts, like once they once
- 15:49Speaker 1: they realized we were just taking the piss for the
- 15:50Speaker 1: intro man, it was just like carnage, like Mayhem. And
- 15:57Speaker 1: then one of the nights was so funny after we
- 16:00Speaker 1: played and then I got her up afterwards, and men
- 16:03Speaker 1: and I were like almost a foot taller than everybody
- 16:05Speaker 1: there because Japanese generally speaking, are a bit shorter, and
- 16:09Speaker 1: men now I were both pretty tall people, and and
- 16:14Speaker 1: we just stuck out like saw thumbs, these two white
- 16:16Speaker 1: guys in the marsh. And then like all these like
- 16:18Speaker 1: Japanese dudes were coming up and tapping us on the
- 16:20Speaker 1: shoulder and like pointing up and getting us. And then
- 16:22Speaker 1: we had this like it was like a it was
- 16:24Speaker 1: like a production line of me and Nano grabbing these
- 16:27Speaker 1: Japanese dudes and throwing them up to crowdsurfing the pit
- 16:30Speaker 1: like now that because they've just seen us play, so
- 16:32Speaker 1: they're like, oh, they will let you know, pumps and
- 16:34Speaker 1: then we're just like one at a time throwing these
- 16:37Speaker 1: dudes up into the pit. Man, it was just like
- 16:39Speaker 1: fucking Mayhem. It was absolute mayhem. It was carnage.
- 16:43Speaker 2: Fuck yeah, now I'll go one more for you. And
- 16:46Speaker 2: this one obviously wasn't taken in Nagaya.
- 16:51Speaker 1: Oh dude, this was fucked. So that's it at Blacken,
- 16:58Speaker 1: which they've just just to bring. Now everyone needs to
- 17:00Speaker 1: buy a ticket to this festival because his festival is
- 17:02Speaker 1: fucking special. That was at Blacken a couple of years ago,
- 17:06Speaker 1: I think two or three years ago, and I've never
- 17:08Speaker 1: done an ice bath before. And then day before I
- 17:12Speaker 1: had like my that was the night before because it's
- 17:14Speaker 1: a three day festival. That night before was my part,
- 17:16Speaker 1: like my party night. We played on Friday night. I
- 17:18Speaker 1: took it a little bit easy, so I didn't just
- 17:20Speaker 1: you know, blow my voice out because I was partying
- 17:22Speaker 1: like an animal. And the next day I didn't have
- 17:25Speaker 1: to worry about blowing my voice, so I parted like
- 17:26Speaker 1: an animal. And yeah, I had a crazy day up
- 17:33Speaker 1: all night, munch and heeds, a fucking acid and shit.
- 17:36Speaker 1: And and then the next morning there's this ice bath
- 17:40Speaker 1: and everyone's fucking doing ice bars and I was like yoh,
- 17:42Speaker 1: jumping there and it was five minutes in the ice
- 17:44Speaker 1: bath and everyone was getting in and out fine. For
- 17:46Speaker 1: some reason, I couldn't handle it. I got out. My
- 17:48Speaker 1: whole body like went into convulsions, like it felt like
- 17:52Speaker 1: I had lines like a laser light going and I
- 17:58Speaker 1: must have just been going into some sort of like
- 18:00Speaker 1: fucking cold ice baths shock. And I got out of
- 18:04Speaker 1: the thing and this dude that i'd been been fucking
- 18:07Speaker 1: driven with the night before, who I just met the
- 18:09Speaker 1: night before, was running this thing. And I got out
- 18:13Speaker 1: of the ice bath and I thought I was going
- 18:15Speaker 1: to absolutely just drop. I think I thought I was
- 18:17Speaker 1: just going to hit the ground. And I grabbed him
- 18:19Speaker 1: by the shoulders, like, bro, fucking hold me up, man,
- 18:21Speaker 1: I'm about to drop. And he's like you're right. I'm
- 18:23Speaker 1: like nah, man, like I'm not good, and he's like
- 18:26Speaker 1: you all right, And there was this little fire going
- 18:28Speaker 1: next to her, and he was just like patting my back. Man,
- 18:30Speaker 1: it's all cool, man, You're all cool. Just think of
- 18:32Speaker 1: the good thoughts. And I was just like, fuck, bro,
- 18:34Speaker 1: I think I'm about to fucking pass out. Man. I
- 18:36Speaker 1: think I'm about to like, I think I'm about to drop.
- 18:38Speaker 1: And my whole body was just like radiating and everyone
- 18:42Speaker 1: else dealt with it fine, except for me. So I
- 18:46Speaker 1: don't know, maybe I just had to too many beers
- 18:48Speaker 1: and too much good stuff the night before. And yeah,
- 18:53Speaker 1: that was that was full on that that That's so
- 18:55Speaker 1: funny that I didn't even realize we had that photo
- 18:57Speaker 1: and that check ah. The chick next to me, fuck,
- 19:01Speaker 1: I think it name was Amanda, but she was the
- 19:04Speaker 1: whole the whole weekend. She was going around in these
- 19:07Speaker 1: crazy outfits. The night before she was dressed up as
- 19:09Speaker 1: an old lady with a walking stick, and she had
- 19:11Speaker 1: fake makeup on to make herself look old, and she
- 19:14Speaker 1: wouldn't break character. And she she had these like fake
- 19:17Speaker 1: fake breasts and one was like up and one was down.
- 19:20Speaker 1: And she was like, oh yeah, when I was young,
- 19:22Speaker 1: I was dancing and door missing it and she had
- 19:25Speaker 1: this whole character and she wouldn't break character. And it
- 19:28Speaker 1: was like like it was like it took me fucking
- 19:31Speaker 1: ages to realize this person putting this song because she
- 19:34Speaker 1: was acting so well, and every night she went out
- 19:37Speaker 1: a complete different character. It just like committed, like, did
- 19:40Speaker 1: not break character once the whole night. And I was
- 19:42Speaker 1: speaking to her after this fucking thing, and she was like,
- 19:45Speaker 1: I was like and I clicked. I was like Oh
- 19:47Speaker 1: that was you from last night because I was hanging
- 19:48Speaker 1: out with her and I'm like, how do you not
- 19:50Speaker 1: break character? And She's like, the hard part is to
- 19:53Speaker 1: actually break character, because once I get into it, it's
- 19:56Speaker 1: so hard to get out of it. But yeah, that
- 19:59Speaker 1: was that. That Black and Festival is a special on
- 20:01Speaker 1: the guys out there. They put on an incredible, incredible.
