- 0:00Here's your host, Alex Garrett. Well here on the Alex Garrett Podcast Network.
- 0:13I hope you're doing well on this Friday. I mean, can we
- 0:16say how electric the city of New York is right now? With the Rangers
- 0:21up three to zero, with the Knicks up three two to zero, looking
- 0:24to go three to zero against Indiana, And yeah, the Yanks taking two
- 0:30or three from the Astro six and one on the season for the against the
- 0:34Strows. Pretty impressive. But on my Twitter, my persona has kind of
- 0:39been about sports, right with the Rangers one night nixt the other night,
- 0:42Yankees every night. And I've really felt my Twitter has delved into the sports
- 0:49world a lot. And maybe you find that too if you've listened, if
- 0:53you follow me on Alex g NYC one on Twitter. But the truth is,
- 0:59I am my eyes on a lot of things. But with all the
- 1:02sports stuff, I'm kind of wondering if I should voice the other things I've
- 1:07got my eye on. Because here's the thing. The sports world is an
- 1:11awesome community and so many friends made, so many people joining the journey on
- 1:17Alex jnsic one, and we might have differing political views and different thoughts on
- 1:23everything, but what I'm also focused on is twenty twenty four is a very
- 1:30important year, and what I'm seeing shape up is a chaotic year for American
- 1:38Jews continuing to be basically excommunicating from the college campuses, and Columbia capitulating by
- 1:49even canceling their commencement address now following suit with USC. I'm seeing the fact
- 1:57that Israel wants to take out Humus and now they're not getting the weapons they
- 2:02need from US. I can't stay silent on that this week. To wrap
- 2:08up the podcast, I cannot. I can't stay silent on how twenty twenty
- 2:16four is shaping up because this is an election year. And I've said it
- 2:21time and time again, whether we're talking about accessibility, adaptability, accountability,
- 2:24or the sports scene, athletes, people with disabilities, lawyers, you know,
- 2:32musicians, anybody with a craft, and anybody who's breathing is paying their
- 2:40taxes, and what are our tax dollars going to? That's what I always
- 2:46want to talk about, in addition to the electric sports scene, what are
- 2:52our taxes going to? And right now it's going to chaos, it's going
- 3:02to you know, crap. The fact that now the protesters seemed to be
- 3:09having a majority kind of voice, which is stupid because now the Biden noministration
- 3:15won't give Israel the weapons it deserves. I can't stay silent on that.
- 3:24I can't stay silent on that the Trump trials are going to play out as
- 3:30they do. And I don't the legality of that and the whole thing.
- 3:37I just I'm not an expert to weigh in on that, but I will
- 3:43say I will say, when Trump talks about the issues, he's sounding like
- 3:58an average American? Why is inflation going up under Biden? Like he sounds
- 4:01like someone who is continuing to talk about the issues in a way that makes
- 4:10sense, unlike Biden. And I don't know how the summer conventions are going
- 4:17to go. I just know that how can we all be pretty ticked off?
- 4:27I mean, how come we aren't all ticked off at what's transpired on
- 4:30our college campuses on the I've called it segregation, that universities have now done
- 4:38to tell the Jewish people to stay home while the encampment continues. How fair
- 4:43is that? How discriminatory? Is that? Very discriminatory? And so I
- 4:57always do for those who are disjoining, I always do my road to two
- 5:01seventy, which is happening again on May twentieth. I'll find something to talk
- 5:06about with the polling and whatnot. Kind of missed April twentieth because it was
- 5:11over the weekend, and then we'll go from there. But in the midst
- 5:18of posting on all the sports, I've got eyes on a lot of things,
- 5:23and yes, accessibility and adaptability er one. I cannot wait to go
- 5:27to the Center for Independence New York's gala on May twentieth. That's going to
- 5:33be a fun night. Looks like I'll be going to a Scarti Center on
- 5:38May sixteenth, which will be fun. At the celebrity Night now formerly sports
- 5:45Night, we'll be honoring the seniors at the Henry of Scardi School. So
- 5:51this may has a lot in store. But don't be full that I'm only
- 5:57a sports tracked mind. I'm really not. I am so wired into different
- 6:04things that it sometimes makes my brain race. It does because I'm going from
- 6:13adaptability to the wait if there's not getty weapons to you know, my goodness,
- 6:19Colombia is capitulating again. So I don't have just a one track mind.
- 6:26I find I have like a twelve track mind. It just I feel
- 6:29more comfortable showing my sports side. But the reality is we have a country
- 6:33to save one way or another. We have a country to save, and
- 6:41are we really going to look at ourselves and say, Biden the answer?
- 6:46Are we really going to look at ourselves and say, all right, let's
- 6:48just distract ourselves with sports. It's a great distraction. What's going on in
- 6:51the sports scene is an incredible thing here and the next possibly going up three
- 7:00go tonight. But if you ask me, what I'm really really thinking about
- 7:05also is the fact that capitulation to Humas has spread from Columbia University all the
- 7:15way to the White House. There's just no ifs ands or butts about it.
- 7:24And that's sad. And I don't think the pro HUMUS protesters should be
- 7:30winning right now. So that's really been on my mind. Also, you
- 7:34know, and I talk about accessibility and adaptability, and I'm working on more
- 7:43of those stories. I went all out for limb loss Awareness month. There's
- 7:46always an awareness month. By the way, this month is a small business
- 7:51month. How about that. In the next couple of days, I'm gonna
- 7:57talk to Bill Shnay, a music legend, icon engineers engineer, and I
- 8:03can't wait to post that up for you on the podcast. But yeah,
- 8:11I am very very concerned over the cancelation of commencement in Colombia. Over where
- 8:18we're headed in twenty twenty four, and one last thing is being of adaptability.
- 8:24Anthony Fitzgerald is starting up wheelchair softball at Eisenower Park. Got that text
- 8:30today, so I can't wait to join him on that journey and keep enjoining
- 8:35the sports scene as we deal with a strong solar storm over the weekend.
- 8:39The Yankees, Rangers, and Knicks taking the city by storm already
