- 0:16Speaker 1: Welcome to jag Zam today, brought to you by Field
- 0:18Speaker 1: Daughter Group. Can Nannie Stevens here with Brian Sexton and
- 0:20Speaker 1: John Ojer as we get ready to talk about this
- 0:22Speaker 1: weekend's huge matchup of the Indianapolis Colts. First place in
- 0:26Speaker 1: the AFC South is up for grabs, so let's go
- 0:28Speaker 1: over some of our big things for you today. Brought
- 0:30Speaker 1: to you by g EAHA cover of Employees Health Association
- 0:33Speaker 1: benefits for federal employees and retirees. One versus one, the
- 0:37Speaker 1: number one rush defense versus the number one running back
- 0:40Speaker 1: and the league are going had to head this weekend
- 0:42Speaker 1: when Jonathan Taylor comes to town to take on the Jaguars,
- 0:45Speaker 1: and head coach Lilliam Callen talked a little bit about
- 0:47Speaker 1: the versatility of Jonathan Taylor.
- 0:50Speaker 2: Definitely one of the more talented players in the league.
- 0:53Speaker 2: If you try to arm tackle him, you know, that's
- 0:57Speaker 2: that's not exactly a recipe for success. You know, he
- 1:02Speaker 2: can take them eighty and ninety and he also can
- 1:05Speaker 2: get some of the tough, hard yards and in the
- 1:08Speaker 2: past game they've used them, I think at a pretty
- 1:11Speaker 2: good click this year as well.
- 1:12Speaker 3: So very talented.
- 1:14Speaker 2: We have to be at our best this week in
- 1:17Speaker 2: terms of clamp tackling, pursuit to the football. It's going
- 1:23Speaker 2: to truly take all eleven when it comes to getting
- 1:26Speaker 2: him down on the ground.
- 1:29Speaker 1: Might take a whole group effort, Brian, But we've seen
- 1:30Speaker 1: it done before, and we've seen some teams recently have
- 1:33Speaker 1: success against the Colts by shutting down Jonathan Taylor. Is
- 1:36Speaker 1: that the recipe for success from Jaguars as well?
- 1:38Speaker 4: Without a doubt. Listen, all you have to know is
- 1:40Speaker 4: that they're undefeated this season. When he has one hundred
- 1:43Speaker 4: yards and he hasn't gained more than one hundred yards
- 1:45Speaker 4: in the last two games, and then they're lost in
- 1:47Speaker 4: Kansas City in the fourth quarter with the Colts holding
- 1:49Speaker 4: an eleven point lead, he only got one carry. There's
- 1:53Speaker 4: no way that they don't keep feeding him over and
- 1:56Speaker 4: over and over on Sunday. That's their key to success,
- 2:00Speaker 4: especially with a quarterback who is limited in some sense
- 2:04Speaker 4: with the fibula fracture, whatever he's got going on. I
- 2:07Speaker 4: do want to point out two other numbers that I'm
- 2:09Speaker 4: equally as interested in, and that's number one versus number seven.
- 2:12Speaker 4: Number one being Travis etn against the number seven run defense,
- 2:16Speaker 4: which is what Indiana Indianapolis brings to town this week.
- 2:19Speaker 4: And every time the Jaguars have had a down day
- 2:21Speaker 4: running the football this season, they've responded with a big day.
- 2:25Speaker 4: They were down last week, they didn't run as effectively.
- 2:28Speaker 4: I expect him to have a big day against the
- 2:31Speaker 4: number seven Colts run defense.
- 2:33Speaker 5: Yeah, it's a really big day on that front. For
- 2:36Speaker 5: the interior of the Jaguars offensive line, which didn't have
- 2:40Speaker 5: its best day last Sunday, but the interior of the
- 2:42Speaker 5: Jaguars defensive line. Look, I got questions early in the
- 2:47Speaker 5: season when the Jaguar was stopping the run and people
- 2:49Speaker 5: were saying, well, it's because everybody's passing on Look, after
- 2:53Speaker 5: twelve games, that's not what this is. This is a
- 2:55Speaker 5: good running defense that when the other team runs, you're surprised.
- 3:01Speaker 5: Now when they break it out, when they get more
- 3:03Speaker 5: than four or five, you're having those clumpy runs I
- 3:06Speaker 5: call them, where they get one or two and then
- 3:09Speaker 5: there's a difference in down and distance between four and
- 3:11Speaker 5: the guy going backwards. The runner facing the Jaguars. More
- 3:16Speaker 5: often than not, they're stopping for second and eight, third
- 3:19Speaker 5: and seven situations.
- 3:20Speaker 3: That's been the key to the defense.
- 3:23Speaker 5: It's as Brian said, sometimes there are hidden matchups in games.
- 3:29Speaker 5: This is an obvious one. That is the matchup on Sunday.
- 3:32Speaker 3: Worth putting out guy John.
- 3:34Speaker 4: Do you know which runner has the most rushing yards
- 3:37Speaker 4: against the Jaguars this year and how many he had.
- 3:40Speaker 4: It's Woody Marks from Houston who had sixty three. The
- 3:42Speaker 4: next most is sixty from Patrick Mahomes. In fact, quarterbacks
- 3:46Speaker 4: have been the leading rusher for their teams against this
- 3:48Speaker 4: number one defense three times this season. So the Jaguars
- 3:52Speaker 4: run defense is legit.
- 3:55Speaker 1: Let's go to our second big thing today, which is
- 3:56Speaker 1: gonna be Indiana Jones. We're talking about Daniel Jones, who's
- 3:59Speaker 1: had a bit of a surgeons since showing up in
- 4:01Speaker 1: Indianapolis after a tough run with the Giants, and Liam
- 4:04Speaker 1: Cohen talked about some of the challenges pacing off against him.
- 4:09Speaker 2: He's always been a very natural, pure passer, like the
- 4:13Speaker 2: ball comes off of his hand really well. I think
- 4:18Speaker 2: that his footwork and his shoulder balance, his balance of
- 4:24Speaker 2: his body position this year is much much improved, Like
- 4:29Speaker 2: he's just always throwing from a good foundation in base,
- 4:33Speaker 2: not getting leaned one way or the other. The ball
- 4:37Speaker 2: is able to come out when his back foot hits,
- 4:41Speaker 2: and it's been very accurate for the most part this season.
- 4:46Speaker 1: John, I have to imagine the game plan is going
- 4:47Speaker 1: to be some version of making Daniel Jones beat you,
- 4:50Speaker 1: and especially now that he's dealing with that leg injury.
- 4:53Speaker 1: But what's it going to look like on Sunday from
- 4:54Speaker 1: the defensive perspective for the Jaguars.
- 4:56Speaker 5: Yeah, to play off of what William Cohen said, the
- 4:58Speaker 5: idea when you're playing Daniel Jones. Clearly what he didn't
- 5:01Speaker 5: say was you want to hit him so that he's
- 5:03Speaker 5: not balanced. You want to make him throw like this
- 5:06Speaker 5: and like this. You know, so, look he's This is
- 5:11Speaker 5: a big game for Daniel Jones. I don't know what
- 5:13Speaker 5: the storyline is in Indy, but you know, he had
- 5:18Speaker 5: a good start and now the teams have stopped Jonathan
- 5:21Speaker 5: Taylor a little bit, and the Colts as a whole
- 5:24Speaker 5: have lost the two games when they sort of stuffed Taylor.
- 5:28Speaker 5: Now clearly it's the storyline is back to can he
- 5:32Speaker 5: win games for them? When Jonathan Taylor stopped. The Good
- 5:36Speaker 5: news Brian is the Jaguars pass rush. I talked about
- 5:38Speaker 5: the run defense being legit all year, the pass rush
- 5:42Speaker 5: wasn't but the pass rush in the last three games
- 5:45Speaker 5: there's no flukiness to what you're seeing. This is now
- 5:48Speaker 5: a defensive front that rushes the passer well and stops
- 5:51Speaker 5: the run well.
- 5:52Speaker 4: Listen, he clearly can't move as efficiently as he has
- 5:55Speaker 4: throughout his career. I don't know whether you recall he
- 5:58Speaker 4: had one hundred and seven rushing yards in a touch
- 6:00Speaker 4: down when he was here with the Giants back in
- 6:02Speaker 4: October of twenty twenty two. I mean the Jaguars lost
- 6:04Speaker 4: that game, not because of Saquon Barkley, but because of
- 6:07Speaker 4: Daniel Jones mobility.
- 6:08Speaker 3: Well, he doesn't have.
- 6:09Speaker 4: That, So I fully expect whoever's coming off the edge,
- 6:12Speaker 4: whether they get Trey Bond back in a limited capacity,
- 6:15Speaker 4: or Danny Strigau or bj Green and obviously Josh Heinz
- 6:18Speaker 4: Allen is one of the top five in terms of
- 6:20Speaker 4: creating pressure on quarterbacks this year, but his lack of
- 6:23Speaker 4: mobility in the pocket is probably going to give the
- 6:26Speaker 4: Jaguars it's a little red meat to go and find him.
- 6:30Speaker 4: I'll just say this about Daniel Jones, He's that next
- 6:32Speaker 4: quarterback who has resurfaced in the NFL like the Sam
- 6:36Speaker 4: Darnolds and the Baker Mayfields of the world. And no
- 6:39Speaker 4: less a person than Saquon Barkley, who's considered to be
- 6:42Speaker 4: a player not just of great renown on the field,
- 6:45Speaker 4: but high character. Has said that this is a tough
- 6:47Speaker 4: guy who can get the job done. So I expect,
- 6:50Speaker 4: even though he's limited, for him to come out and
- 6:52Speaker 4: play good football on Sunday. It's one of the reasons
- 6:54Speaker 4: I'm looking forward to this matchup.
- 6:56Speaker 1: It's got to our final big thing today, which is
- 6:58Speaker 1: the next one. This next game up is probably the
- 7:01Speaker 1: biggest we've seen here at ever Bring Stadium in quite
- 7:03Speaker 1: some time. Trevor Lawrence talked about playing big games and help.
- 7:07Speaker 6: The excitement around the team, and the energy is just
- 7:09Speaker 6: different when you have when you're in the hunt and
- 7:11Speaker 6: you got to you're playing for the playoffs in the postseason. Obviously,
- 7:15Speaker 6: when you're not, you bring everything you can every day,
- 7:18Speaker 6: but the feeling around the team of just we know
- 7:22Speaker 6: that the biggest games are still coming up for us
- 7:25Speaker 6: and that we're playing for a lot and that's that's
- 7:27Speaker 6: why you play, and that's and that's what makes it
- 7:29Speaker 6: fun being in this position. So I mean, yeah, it
- 7:31Speaker 6: is is different every line. If I said it wasn't
- 7:33Speaker 6: so it's exciting.
- 7:36Speaker 1: Well, Tony Bissellin say this is the biggest game in
- 7:38Speaker 1: franchise history, Bryan, because it's the next one.
- 7:40Speaker 3: Yeah, but it is a.
- 7:41Speaker 4: Big game, not a huge game. And listen, I'm a
- 7:44Speaker 4: big proponent of focus. I've always been interested in how
- 7:48Speaker 4: these guys in the locker room are able to shut
- 7:50Speaker 4: out the noise, whether it's from the media or social media.
- 7:54Speaker 4: Focus is required for great football teams, and this week, for.
- 7:58Speaker 3: Them, they get to focus on this game.
- 8:00Speaker 4: Last week they had to fight the urge to focus forward.
- 8:04Speaker 3: This week, it's not hard.
- 8:05Speaker 4: To be focused because it's the Colts and they've been
- 8:08Speaker 4: one of the front runners in the AFC all season.
- 8:10Speaker 4: They're the team, but everyone expects to be the AFC
- 8:14Speaker 4: South Division title winner at the end of the year.
- 8:16Speaker 4: So it's easy, John for these guys to focus on
- 8:19Speaker 4: what is ahead.
- 8:20Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 8:20Speaker 5: I got an email from somebody this week saying, yea, look,
- 8:24Speaker 5: why is everybody saying that this is such a big game?
- 8:26Speaker 5: They still control their destiny if they lose. Well, yeah,
- 8:29Speaker 5: a game doesn't have to be must win to be big.
- 8:34Speaker 5: And I do think there will be bigger games for
- 8:36Speaker 5: this team moving forward, but this, in this moment, is
- 8:39Speaker 5: a huge game. It's the It's only the fourth time
- 8:42Speaker 5: in franchise history. I may have said this in the
- 8:44Speaker 5: air already this week, only a fourth time in franchise
- 8:48Speaker 5: history that the Jaguars have been in a division game
- 8:52Speaker 5: in December. With both teams over five four games over
- 8:56Speaker 5: five hundred. These are two really good teams playing in
- 9:00Speaker 5: this stadium on Sunday for first place. It's it's unquestionably huge.
- 9:05Speaker 1: Important games in December.
- 9:06Speaker 3: We love to hear it.
- 9:07Speaker 1: We're going to see it this Sunday, and of course
- 9:09Speaker 1: stay with us here on Jagzam. Coming up after the break,
- 9:11Speaker 1: I'll go behind Enemy Line to get some more details
- 9:13Speaker 1: both the Colts injuries and what we can expect on Sunday.
- 9:20Speaker 1: Welcome into Behind Enemy Lines, where we check in with
- 9:22Speaker 1: a media member covering the Jaguars opponent for this week.
- 9:25Speaker 1: It's going to be an AFC South showdown with the
- 9:27Speaker 1: Indianapolis Colts, so we're checking in with Amanda Foster from
- 9:29Speaker 1: Colts dot Com. Amanda, thank you for joining us. We
- 9:32Speaker 1: are very much looking forward to this game. Feels like
- 9:35Speaker 1: almost like a playoff atmosphere. But in the regular season.
- 9:38Speaker 7: Yes, No, I mean especially you talk about the ANFC
- 9:41Speaker 7: South implications for both of these teams heading into Sunday's game.
- 9:45Speaker 7: Fans talk about the streak that the Colts have at Jacksonville, obviously,
- 9:49Speaker 7: all that kind of thing. Exactly like you said, there's
- 9:51Speaker 7: a lot of It's a high stakes game, I would say,
- 9:53Speaker 7: on both sides, But I mean definitely definitely for us
- 9:56Speaker 7: here in Indianapolis for sure.
- 9:58Speaker 1: I think we're all dealing with injuries time of year,
- 10:00Speaker 1: but you guys are dealing with some to some key players. Obviously,
- 10:04Speaker 1: Daniel Jones had the leg injuries been playing through and
- 10:06Speaker 1: then Sauce Gardner had that calf strain. What's kind of
- 10:08Speaker 1: the latest on that and are do you expect any
- 10:11Speaker 1: changes this week?
- 10:14Speaker 7: Not We're not really expecting many changes now, Shane Steiken
- 10:17Speaker 7: talk this morning. Sounds like saus Gardner, he said on Monday,
- 10:20Speaker 7: will not be placed on injured reserve, but is expected
- 10:23Speaker 7: to miss some time. My expectation would be that he
- 10:26Speaker 7: will not play this weekend, but you never really know.
- 10:28Speaker 8: We'll see what happens. Daniel Jones kind.
- 10:31Speaker 7: Of business as usual, he did say on Sunday after
- 10:34Speaker 7: the Texans game that he's feeling better than he did
- 10:36Speaker 7: last weekend against the Chiefs.
- 10:38Speaker 8: He should be good to go this whole week again.
- 10:40Speaker 7: And the hope with that is that he'll continue to
- 10:42Speaker 7: kind of keep feeling better as this week goes on
- 10:45Speaker 7: and as the rest of the season goes on. And
- 10:47Speaker 7: other than that, you know, it's pretty much business as
- 10:49Speaker 7: usual for us.
- 10:51Speaker 1: We're looking forward to one of the matchups. Obviously, the
- 10:53Speaker 1: Jaguars defense has been great at stopping the run so
- 10:55Speaker 1: far this season, and Jonathan Taylor has been probably the
- 10:58Speaker 1: best running back in the league for us. From your perspective,
- 11:01Speaker 1: what have you seen from Jonathan Taylor this year that's
- 11:03Speaker 1: kind of put him over the top. He's always been talented,
- 11:05Speaker 1: but kind of gotten him to this level.
- 11:07Speaker 7: Yeah, no, and it's it's one of those things we've
- 11:10Speaker 7: talked about with him here. It's gotten to the point
- 11:12Speaker 7: where it's hard to put into words exactly what he
- 11:15Speaker 7: can do because he just goes out there and you
- 11:18Speaker 7: know what he's going to do. You know his talents
- 11:21Speaker 7: and his capabilities. We've seen how shifty is and how
- 11:25Speaker 7: well he can break through defenses. But there's something that
- 11:28Speaker 7: he just it's very hard to stop him for some reason,
- 11:30Speaker 7: and it's kind of like you just there's not a
- 11:33Speaker 7: great way to describe it.
- 11:34Speaker 8: We've even heard that from coaches.
- 11:35Speaker 7: And players if they're like, yeah, that's just what Jonathan does.
- 11:38Speaker 7: And I will say a big part of it, and
- 11:40Speaker 7: something that he's talked about a lot is the talent
- 11:42Speaker 7: of the offensive line and talk about Quentin Nelson and
- 11:45Speaker 7: guys like that who just break out in the open
- 11:47Speaker 7: field and run, and so they're contributing a lot to
- 11:50Speaker 7: his success this season and the last few games we've
- 11:52Speaker 7: seen he's he's still contributed, but not in the way
- 11:55Speaker 7: that he has like he was in the beginning of
- 11:57Speaker 7: the year and even like he did against the Falcons
- 11:59Speaker 7: and Berlin, and so that a lot of his game
- 12:02Speaker 7: does hinge on what the offensive line is able to
- 12:05Speaker 7: do as well, and so it kind of it's that
- 12:07Speaker 7: tandem thing that goes hand in hand. And so the
- 12:09Speaker 7: hope this week is that they can figure out some
- 12:12Speaker 7: of the details and things that they might have been
- 12:14Speaker 7: missing the last few games, or little mistakes they've been making,
- 12:17Speaker 7: and that they can all kind of get on the
- 12:18Speaker 7: same page again this weekend.
- 12:20Speaker 1: Going forward, if sace Gardener's not able to go on
- 12:22Speaker 1: the defensive side of the ball, what do you think
- 12:24Speaker 1: some of the focus will be for the Colts this week?
- 12:27Speaker 8: That's a good question.
- 12:29Speaker 7: This secondary and the cornerback room specifically has dealt with
- 12:32Speaker 7: so much turnover this entire season, and so that obviously
- 12:36Speaker 7: you don't want to lose a player like sast Gardener.
- 12:38Speaker 7: Nobody wants to lose a player like that. But these
- 12:41Speaker 7: guys are no stranger to the next minut mentality to
- 12:44Speaker 7: constantly having to shift in and out, bring guys in
- 12:47Speaker 7: off the sideline, off the bench, off the practice squad,
- 12:49Speaker 7: because that's what they've been.
- 12:50Speaker 8: Doing all year.
- 12:51Speaker 7: And so it will change in terms of the specifics
- 12:55Speaker 7: of the scheme that luin ROOMI wants to do for sure,
- 12:58Speaker 7: But you do think about you have a guy like
- 13:00Speaker 7: for various word and so more of the kind of
- 13:03Speaker 7: man and man coverage type things that he's very good at,
- 13:05Speaker 7: he'll do more of that I would expect. But it's
- 13:08Speaker 7: not like, obviously you lose talent with Sauce, but you
- 13:12Speaker 7: don't lose a lot of potential.
- 13:13Speaker 8: I guess is probably the best way to put it.
- 13:15Speaker 7: Where all of these guys have their own capabilities and
- 13:18Speaker 7: they all have been able to build chemistry together. Because
- 13:21Speaker 7: there's been so much change that it's going to look different,
- 13:23Speaker 7: But I wouldn't say there's going to be a drop
- 13:25Speaker 7: off by any means in terms of what they can do,
- 13:27Speaker 7: whether it's this weekend or for the rest of the season.
- 13:30Speaker 1: For US, Liam Cohen's been kind of focusing on this
- 13:33Speaker 1: week as being a big game, but also trying to
- 13:35Speaker 1: not make it too much more than it is because
- 13:37Speaker 1: there's so many divisional games left for them on the calendar.
- 13:40Speaker 1: They're going to play the Cults twice in the next
- 13:41Speaker 1: couple of weeks. So what's Shane Steichen's approach been and
- 13:44Speaker 1: what's kind of his messaging to the team been so far?
- 13:47Speaker 7: Pretty much the exact same thing, like you said. I mean,
- 13:49Speaker 7: we played the Drag Wars twice, we play the Texans again.
- 13:52Speaker 7: And that's something that Shane has emphasized for every game
- 13:55Speaker 7: this season, no matter who they play, is that it's
- 13:58Speaker 7: a day by day thing, a week by week thing,
- 14:00Speaker 7: where you just keep getting better in every way that
- 14:02Speaker 7: you can, and obviously prepare for your opponents, but you
- 14:05Speaker 7: can't think too much about any of it. You can't
- 14:08Speaker 7: think about this weekend, You can't think about the playoffs
- 14:10Speaker 7: or the future.
- 14:11Speaker 8: Is that's.
- 14:14Speaker 7: He's emphasisic emphasizing pretty much the same thing of just
- 14:17Speaker 7: do what you can, keep getting better and then go
- 14:19Speaker 7: in and play the best game that you possibly can
- 14:22Speaker 7: every week and that'll lead you where it leads you.
- 14:25Speaker 1: Yeah, with the chips fall for you looking forward to
- 14:28Speaker 1: at this game, do you have an X factor on
- 14:30Speaker 1: either side of the ball that you feel like we'll
- 14:32Speaker 1: need to have a good game if the Colts want
- 14:33Speaker 1: to get a win.
- 14:35Speaker 7: I will say I think I think Jonathan Taylor is
- 14:39Speaker 7: kind of kind of the go to with that. I
- 14:43Speaker 7: think Alec Pierce could also be one to watch though
- 14:46Speaker 7: for the Colts last year when they went to JACKSONVI Like,
- 14:48Speaker 7: he ended up having a pretty big game at the
- 14:50Speaker 7: end of that game and had a very big game
- 14:52Speaker 7: against the Texans this past weekend, so that in terms
- 14:55Speaker 7: of any sort of deep ball threat that the Colts
- 14:58Speaker 7: might want, he's one to keep an eye on. And
- 15:00Speaker 7: then defensively, I think that one the entire X factor is,
- 15:04Speaker 7: it's just the whole defense. If you will you know,
- 15:06Speaker 7: it's terday's word, could have a big game he's kind
- 15:09Speaker 7: of due for a big game. But at the same time,
- 15:12Speaker 7: if they're able to all work together in the way
- 15:14Speaker 7: that we know that they can, then that would be
- 15:17Speaker 7: bigger than you know, any one player that would have
- 15:19Speaker 7: a big breakout game or anything like that.
- 15:22Speaker 1: All right, Amanda, thanks so much. We're very much looking
- 15:24Speaker 1: forward to it, and we'll see you here this weekend.
- 15:26Speaker 8: Thank you.
- 15:28Speaker 1: That was behind Enemy Lines with Amanda Foster from Colts
- 15:30Speaker 1: dot com. We're all looking forward to this matchup this weekend.
- 15:34Speaker 1: After the break, we'll be back here on jag Zam

- 15:55Speaker 1: We're going to do our best to predict the future
- 15:58Speaker 1: for you as we look ahead to headlines on Monday.
- 16:00Speaker 1: And we've been talking incessantly about how big of a
- 16:03Speaker 1: game this is. But Brian, what do you think we're
- 16:04Speaker 1: going to be talking about on Monday.
- 16:06Speaker 3: I'm going with number one.
- 16:08Speaker 4: The Jaguars will be number one in the AFC South
- 16:11Speaker 4: and it will be number one for the Jaguars. Travis
- 16:14Speaker 4: Etn who powers them to the win over the Colts.
- 16:18Speaker 4: And everyone's talking about the number one rusher in the league,
- 16:21Speaker 4: which is obviously Jonathan Taylor and a lot of respect.
- 16:23Speaker 4: He is phenomenal and the number one run defense, which
- 16:28Speaker 4: is the counter to the number one running back. But
- 16:30Speaker 4: I think number one in Teal throwback Teal no Less
- 16:33Speaker 4: is going to.
- 16:34Speaker 3: Be the key this week.
- 16:36Speaker 4: I think his presence and he's always had big games
- 16:38Speaker 4: against the Colts. I think that will keep some of
- 16:41Speaker 4: the pressure from Quitti pay and Latu Latu who's an
- 16:43Speaker 4: excellent pass rusher, and lou Arumna. Even Las Name, the
- 16:49Speaker 4: defensive coordinator, does an excellent job at keeping offenses guessing.
- 16:53Speaker 4: But I think Etn is the key for the Jaguars.
- 16:56Speaker 4: He's had a tremendous season. Since the start of training camp,
- 17:00Speaker 4: he has been an excellent football player. He's had a
- 17:02Speaker 4: lot to prove and he's proven it well. I think
- 17:04Speaker 4: number one is the key.
- 17:06Speaker 5: Yeah, Sometimes in this league, it takes a long time
- 17:09Speaker 5: for perception or for reality to become perception, and people
- 17:13Speaker 5: have overlooked Travis Etn this year and assume, and correctly so,
- 17:18Speaker 5: Jonathan Taylor was the best running back in the game.
- 17:20Speaker 5: But that if the Jaguars can come out and run
- 17:24Speaker 5: and be the better running team on Sunday, they'll win
- 17:27Speaker 5: the game. And I think you know, that sort of
- 17:29Speaker 5: plays into mind, which is really for real, believe it
- 17:34Speaker 5: or not, people are still overlooking the Jaguars and in
- 17:38Speaker 5: the standings, it's almost like, I'm gonna go with an
- 17:40Speaker 5: analogy here. In the seventies, a band called the Sex
- 17:43Speaker 5: Pistols was in the UK and they had a song
- 17:45Speaker 5: called Anarchy in the UK, I've heard it. It hit
- 17:47Speaker 5: number one, but it was banned, so there was no
- 17:50Speaker 5: name next to it. It was a blank and a
- 17:52Speaker 5: number one. In the standings, it's almost like the Jaguars
- 17:56Speaker 5: are like, there's this ghost team that's in the AFC South,
- 18:00Speaker 5: but it's all the Texans and the Colts, and look,
- 18:03Speaker 5: the Jaguars are in first place and if they win
- 18:05Speaker 5: this game, they will take away the ban and they'll
- 18:09Speaker 5: be number one.
- 18:10Speaker 3: Next to that number one.
- 18:13Speaker 5: It's again, I usually don't play into this, or they're
- 18:16Speaker 5: being overlooked on graphics. There are still people with Colts
- 18:21Speaker 5: in first place even though they're not. It's uh so
- 18:24Speaker 5: yesterday anarchy in the NFL. It's computer screen yesterday. I'm
- 18:29Speaker 5: hoping for a dead Kennedy's Revelvet underground reference next week.
- 18:32Speaker 2: You'll get here, get.
- 18:34Speaker 5: Kill the poor proud of you guys.
- 18:35Speaker 8: I'm going with Stampede.
- 18:37Speaker 1: Because I feel like this is the opportunity for the
- 18:41Speaker 1: pass game to kind of come alive. There's some injuries
- 18:44Speaker 1: on the secondary for the Colts, and I think now
- 18:47Speaker 1: that we've got Brian Thomas Junior back out there, it's
- 18:49Speaker 1: had a week back already. We've seen is buying. We
- 18:52Speaker 1: know he's ready to go. Jacobe Myers is more comfortable
- 18:55Speaker 1: after a month, and I think this is an opportunity
- 18:56Speaker 1: for us to actually see the past.
- 18:58Speaker 3: Game win a game for them.
- 18:59Speaker 1: I don't think it will nothing against Travestyana know they
- 19:02Speaker 1: play the best when they have the run game going.
- 19:04Speaker 1: But I think the explosives of what is what they
- 19:06Speaker 1: have been missing and I think now is the perfect
- 19:08Speaker 1: stage for them to finally get everything to come together.
- 19:11Speaker 3: Yeah, it's a good call.
- 19:12Speaker 5: I mean, I think the Jaguars run and they get
- 19:15Speaker 5: what you're talking about. You've written that a couple of
- 19:17Speaker 5: times this week, and it's dead on at some point,
- 19:22Speaker 5: that X factor of the receiving game. If you're going
- 19:24Speaker 5: to be a good team, you have to be complete.
- 19:27Speaker 5: They've been a good running team, and you feel like
- 19:29Speaker 5: each week, don't you feel like they're a little better
- 19:32Speaker 5: in the passing game lately? If they hit what you're
- 19:35Speaker 5: talking about, if there's an explosive fifty five yard touchdown, man,
- 19:40Speaker 5: I think it's gonna be theirs.
- 19:41Speaker 4: Listen, they need Brian Thomas because Parker Washington's availability is
- 19:45Speaker 4: going to go right up the game time and whether
- 19:47Speaker 4: he is functionally able to play at the level he
- 19:50Speaker 4: has all season long. I mean, I think that would
- 19:52Speaker 4: have to be in great jeopardy because of the injury
- 19:54Speaker 4: that he.
- 19:54Speaker 3: Suffered last week.
- 19:55Speaker 4: So they have Brian back and to get big plays
- 19:57Speaker 4: from him, they're going to need him to be where
- 19:59Speaker 4: he's sposed to be on every play.
- 20:01Speaker 1: We've seen a couple impressive games room against the Colts
- 20:04Speaker 1: as well. One of my favorite memes from last year
- 20:06Speaker 1: when the Colts defenders diving at his back and he's
- 20:09Speaker 1: just running right out of the frame. So here's hopeful
- 20:11Speaker 1: for another third one. But stay with us right now,
- 20:13Speaker 1: we'll tell you what's coming up after the break here
- 20:15Speaker 1: in jag dayon.
- 20:21Speaker 3: Jaggs fans.

- 20:26Speaker 1: Zipchair is furniture for fans and this Sunday's matchup against
- 20:30Speaker 1: the Colts presented by Hyundai Test Drivenue hundaiy today only
- 20:34Speaker 1: at your local Hyundai dealer, and you cannot express enough
- 20:39Speaker 1: you definitely want to come out and watch it in
- 20:40Speaker 1: person if you can. Haven't been a ton of home
- 20:42Speaker 1: games recently, but they're back in action and it's going
- 20:44Speaker 1: to be a huge one with huge implications in the division.
- 20:48Speaker 1: I just I just want them to play at this point.
- 20:50Speaker 5: Job.
- 20:50Speaker 4: Yeah, Obviously they've been good at home this year. I
- 20:54Speaker 4: mean the Seahawks, notwithstanding they're four and one at home, but.
- 20:57Speaker 3: They've been very good everywhere.
- 21:00Speaker 5: And you know, look, we talk about the team and
- 21:04Speaker 5: I tried to fans good what they want to do.
- 21:08Speaker 5: I've been here fifteen years and there's only been a
- 21:11Speaker 5: couple of years where they've played meaningful football in December,
- 21:14Speaker 5: and I guess I've said it all week.
- 21:16Speaker 3: This is what you've been waiting for.
- 21:18Speaker 8: Yeah, like it's for.
- 21:20Speaker 5: In twenty fifteen when you're three and ten and you're
- 21:23Speaker 5: writing me saying, Johnny stink, I hate you. Okay, this
- 21:28Speaker 5: is what, right, everybody has been waiting for. This is
- 21:31Speaker 5: competitive football, This is December. This is a good team.
- 21:36Speaker 5: In ten years, this will be a thing you look
- 21:39Speaker 5: back on and gay, it wasn't that cool.
- 21:41Speaker 4: Yeah, this is it ten, twenty seventeen, twenty twenty two,
- 21:45Speaker 4: twenty twenty three, meaningful football in December. This is only
- 21:48Speaker 4: the fifth time in those fifteen years, and we can
- 21:51Speaker 4: obviously go back further than that and find it's since
- 21:53Speaker 4: two thousand and seven, right, right, I mean it's it's
- 21:56Speaker 4: they weren't an eight nine either. To go back almost
- 21:58Speaker 4: twenty years and it's only been a few week times.
- 22:00Speaker 5: And this feel that think we all agree and sustainable.
- 22:03Speaker 5: It felt that way in twenty two two. But it
- 22:06Speaker 5: feels sustainable. And if you want to be in on
- 22:09Speaker 5: the Jaguars when they're starting something special, this is it.
- 22:13Speaker 1: You still run on the bus, jump on.
- 22:16Speaker 8: We'll be with you, guys.
- 22:17Speaker 1: Pregame, postgame, during the game Radio, Jaguars dot Com, and
- 22:20Speaker 1: of course we'll be back here on jagxam on Monday
- 22:23Speaker 1: recap it all for you, so enjoy the weekend.
