- 0:14Speaker 2: Welcome back in OTB. And again, we are live here
- 0:18Speaker 2: from the garage. Our Wednesday show is brought to you
- 0:21Speaker 2: by Poncho. PonchoOutdoors.com slash Off the Bench. PonchoOutdoors.com slash Off
- 0:28Speaker 2: the Bench. You see they got a lot of different shirts,
- 0:31Speaker 2: me and Flynn. We're Pretty big fans of the old
- 0:34Speaker 2: pearl snaps.
- 0:35Speaker 3: Oh, my God.
- 0:35Speaker 2: You know, they got some that don't have pearl snaps.
- 0:37Speaker 2: They got some that have just normal old buttons. You
- 0:39Speaker 2: can get those as well. But this is the new
- 0:42Speaker 2: LSU shirt. You see the eye of the tiger there.
- 0:45Speaker 2: You see the LSU on the sleeve. They've got it
- 0:48Speaker 2: in purple. They've got it in white. They've got it
- 0:50Speaker 2: in this very cool.
- 0:52Speaker 4: Light purple?
- 0:53Speaker 3: They sure do.
- 0:53Speaker 4: Lavender, maybe?
- 0:54Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 0:55Speaker 4: I don't know the official name. I know it's sold out.
- 0:58Speaker 3: I know.
- 0:58Speaker 4: If you see one on the website, it doesn't matter
- 1:01Speaker 4: what size. Just check out.
- 1:02Speaker 3: Yeah, it's like lavender. I think they call it light purple.
- 1:04Speaker 4: Okay.
- 1:05Speaker 3: Not a big deal.
- 1:06Speaker 2: I got on the website the other day, and I
- 1:08Speaker 2: was going to order these shirts, and I saw one,
- 1:11Speaker 2: and it was a medium. I don't wear a medium,
- 1:13Speaker 2: but I got a lot of children. Somebody wears a medium,
- 1:15Speaker 2: so I just went ahead and ordered it. I was like,
- 1:18Speaker 2: I don't know when these are going to go out.
- 1:20Speaker 2: back and be in stock, but they have plenty more.
- 1:23Speaker 2: I did just see they added some of the purple there,
- 1:25Speaker 2: so go to ponchooutdoors.com slash offthebench.
- 1:29Speaker 3: They got some more in? I know they went hot.
- 1:32Speaker 3: They went fast.
- 1:33Speaker 4: It was the male model.
- 1:34Speaker 5: It was really the male model. I mean, sometimes sex
- 1:37Speaker 5: sells a little too much.
- 1:40Speaker 4: They try to keep up. They try to keep up.
- 1:43Speaker 2: All right, let's get back a little bit into the
- 1:46Speaker 2: Clemson-LSU game. Right now, a completely different feel, Matt, for
- 1:50Speaker 2: what it was a year ago.
- 1:51Speaker 4: A year ago, it was, you know, this top five matchup.
- 1:54Speaker 2: It was two teams that a lot of people, including ourselves,
- 1:57Speaker 2: thought could be national championship teams because, well, they were
- 2:01Speaker 2: in the top five.
- 2:01Speaker 4: They had a lot of people coming back.
- 2:03Speaker 2: They both had quarterbacks at that moment that were Heisman
- 2:06Speaker 2: Trophy contenders, like real contenders, like really good odds, top
- 2:09Speaker 2: five odds. It doesn't have that feel this year as
- 2:13Speaker 2: far as like just the matchup because, well, Clemson lost
- 2:16Speaker 2: a lot of players to the NFL. They lost Kate
- 2:18Speaker 2: Klubnick and Peter Woods and TJ Parker and Antonio.
- 2:21Speaker 4: Williams, really good football players.
- 2:24Speaker 2: And as we know, Dabo's not going to do a
- 2:27Speaker 2: deep dive into the transfer portal.
- 2:28Speaker 4: Now they've added way more than they ever have before,
- 2:31Speaker 4: but it's still like tens. Or like nine. Nine guys.
- 2:34Speaker 3: Good for him, though. Really good for him.
- 2:36Speaker 4: Yeah, good for him.
- 2:37Speaker 2: He hadn't won anything meaningful since he's kind of had
- 2:40Speaker 2: that stance. And just quoting facts here. So they'll add
- 2:45Speaker 2: more than they ever had before. But now it's like,
- 2:49Speaker 2: is it enough? I don't remember coming into a season
- 2:53Speaker 2: in recent memory. I'm talking about like a decade where
- 2:56Speaker 2: Clemson has been talked about.
- 3:00Speaker 4: Less than they have been this year.
- 3:01Speaker 3: I mean, what a difference a year makes as far
- 3:04Speaker 3: as going into a game.
- 3:05Speaker 2: We had them like number two in our life. We
- 3:07Speaker 2: did a preseason top 25 last year.
- 3:09Speaker 3: I know.
- 3:09Speaker 5: So last year, obviously my first year doing full-time radio
- 3:13Speaker 5: with you. And that's all anybody could talk. Like this
- 3:18Speaker 5: was the matchup. That's all we talked about during the summer.
- 3:22Speaker 5: All training camp. SEC media days last year going into this,
- 3:26Speaker 5: you're talking about, you got two definitely first-round quarterbacks, definitely
- 3:31Speaker 5: two first-round quarterbacks that are going to be on the
- 3:34Speaker 5: Heisman finalists. You got all these players on defense. You
- 3:37Speaker 5: got all these name brands. It was such a huge deal.
- 3:42Speaker 5: A year later, it is who's on Clemson's roster?
- 3:47Speaker 3: Who's the quarterback who they just named?
- 3:50Speaker 5: That Christopher Vizzini guy yesterday as the starting quarterback at Clemson.
- 3:54Speaker 5: It's like, it is one of these situations where there
- 3:57Speaker 5: is zero noise around Clemson. And I don't think it's
- 4:00Speaker 5: one of those, like, good situations where, hey, nobody's talking
- 4:03Speaker 5: about us because they just don't know type situations. I
- 4:07Speaker 5: think it's one of those, they're not talking about you
- 4:10Speaker 5: because maybe they do know. And that's why, you know,
- 4:14Speaker 5: I talked about it yesterday.
- 4:16Speaker 3: There is.
- 4:18Speaker 3: The excitement, the ceiling for LSU with all the additions,
- 4:24Speaker 3: the new type of offense, the consistency, the carryover from defense.
- 4:29Speaker 5: The ceiling is so high. And I keep looking at
- 4:34Speaker 5: this matchup. I keep looking at the names. I keep
- 4:36Speaker 5: thinking about this game. And I get it.
- 4:40Speaker 3: I'm a homer.
- 4:41Speaker 5: I want LSU to win every game by 50. But
- 4:43Speaker 5: I think that LSU, what's the spread? I think the
- 4:45Speaker 5: live spread is 10.5.
- 4:47Speaker 4: Yeah, it's bouncing back and forth between 10 and 10.5.
- 4:49Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean, I think LSU has a better shot of, again,
- 4:54Speaker 5: I said it yesterday, they got a better shot of
- 4:56Speaker 5: winning by 20 than they do of losing this game,
- 4:58Speaker 5: in my opinion, because of all the variables that go
- 5:01Speaker 5: into this. The new players, a better roster, a new offense,
- 5:05Speaker 5: consistent defense. And then you add, oh, yeah, Death Valley's
- 5:09Speaker 5: going to be absolutely on fire Saturday.
- 5:12Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 5:12Speaker 5: You add all those things up, and it's, I mean...
- 5:16Speaker 5: I don't think we're going to be talking about Clemson
- 5:18Speaker 5: for long this season.
- 5:20Speaker 2: Yeah, and even when they've had seasons where we haven't
- 5:23Speaker 2: talked about them as much, we've still talked about them.
- 5:25Speaker 2: They still had a quarterback a majority of those times,
- 5:28Speaker 2: so they've had individual players. And also, they've been talked
- 5:32Speaker 2: about as far as where they're at in the ACC of, hey,
- 5:36Speaker 2: they could go win it, or hey, they're going to
- 5:38Speaker 2: finish first, hey, they're going to finish second. So even
- 5:39Speaker 2: when we haven't had this long national conversation about Clemson,
- 5:44Speaker 2: at least in the ACC... They were picked to finish
- 5:47Speaker 2: fourth at ACC Media Days. That's even foreign to them.
- 5:52Speaker 2: So are they going to play hard? Are they going
- 5:54Speaker 2: to have pros on their roster?
- 5:56Speaker 4: Absolutely. But it does not feel even remotely related.
- 6:00Speaker 2: It's not a distant cousin to the feel you had
- 6:02Speaker 2: about the Clemson team a year ago heading into this space.
- 6:05Speaker 5: No. I wonder, do you remember who they picked in
- 6:09Speaker 5: front of them?
- 6:11Speaker 2: I know Miami and SMU were definitely ahead of them.
- 6:16Speaker 5: Well, now that I've seen one game in Week Zero,
- 6:19Speaker 5: I'd say Virginia as well.
- 6:21Speaker 3: My God, Virginia looked very good. North Carolina looked great.
- 6:24Speaker 3: North Carolina looked better. They looked better. Well, okay. We
- 6:27Speaker 3: didn't realize, like, TCU had— They looked.
- 6:29Speaker 2: Like they were a poverty team last year. Yeah, they did.
- 6:33Speaker 5: Now, TCU's quarterback looked like that. Might be the first
- 6:37Speaker 5: time he's played tackle football.
- 6:38Speaker 4: He's coming from, I think, Harvard.
- 6:40Speaker 3: Well— I don't care.
- 6:42Speaker 4: I'm saying it's a little bit step up in competition.
- 6:45Speaker 4: Shout out to Andrew.
- 6:46Speaker 3: He looks like C.J. Stroud in the playoffs.
- 6:49Speaker 4: And that's not a good thing.
- 6:50Speaker 3: That's not a great thing.
- 6:51Speaker 5: You don't want to be compared to that. So, yeah,
- 6:54Speaker 5: shout out to Belichick for beating.
- 6:59Speaker 3: C.J.
- 6:59Speaker 2: Stroud of Harvard. I'm trying to think who the other
- 7:03Speaker 2: team was. It might have been Virginia. It might have
- 7:05Speaker 2: been our Duke or one of those teams. But that
- 7:07Speaker 2: was Louisville. That's who it was.
- 7:09Speaker 3: Louisville.
- 7:09Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 7:10Speaker 2: So they were picked, and so Miami, SMU, Louisville, and
- 7:13Speaker 2: then Clemson in the preseason poll, but that is not
- 7:16Speaker 2: a place that Clemson is used to being in their
- 7:18Speaker 2: own conference, and so it's going to be, I think
- 7:22Speaker 2: a lot of people are going to learn some of
- 7:24Speaker 2: their players as they play against LSU coming up on
- 7:28Speaker 2: Saturday night, and that's just, that hasn't been the MO
- 7:31Speaker 2: of Clemson either, because they are a program that doesn't
- 7:34Speaker 2: have a lot of change. They're a program, their guys
- 7:36Speaker 2: stay four years, and They play early, too, and so
- 7:40Speaker 2: you get a chance to know the name, learn the name,
- 7:42Speaker 2: continue to see it year after year, and it's just
- 7:45Speaker 2: really not the case. Now, like Sammy Brown at linebacker,
- 7:49Speaker 2: right there in the middle, number 47, you'll see him
- 7:51Speaker 2: all night long.
- 7:52Speaker 4: That's a name that maybe you know.
- 7:54Speaker 2: They're going to have an edge rusher that's been there
- 7:56Speaker 2: now for a couple years as a transfer. Bryant Wesco Jr.
- 8:00Speaker 2: has played a ton of football. He's out there a receiver.
- 8:03Speaker 2: He's only still a junior, but he's played his entire
- 8:05Speaker 2: career there but like that's if i'm just trying to
- 8:08Speaker 2: find some names for a common fan to know and
- 8:11Speaker 2: it is it's an unknown and so you know maybe
- 8:15Speaker 2: clemson feels better about the guys that they're rolling out
- 8:17Speaker 2: there now the offense is pretty much going to be
- 8:20Speaker 2: all guys that were there a year ago i know
- 8:22Speaker 2: they've got burrows a very talented receiver.
- 8:25Speaker 4: As a true freshman that they think's going.
- 8:27Speaker 2: To play but outside of that it is guys that
- 8:30Speaker 2: you saw a year ago in some way some capacity
- 8:33Speaker 2: for the clemson tigers And then on defense, I mentioned
- 8:35Speaker 2: they did bring in transfers.
- 8:37Speaker 4: That's where they came from. They've got, let's see, one, two, three, four, five.
- 8:41Speaker 2: They've got nine transfers on the defensive side of the football,
- 8:44Speaker 2: and four of those transfers are expected to play.
- 8:47Speaker 4: So even on offense, Matt, they didn't bring in– they
- 8:50Speaker 4: brought in one.
- 8:50Speaker 3: No, I'm looking at it. They brought in two. One
- 8:53Speaker 3: of them is on the fourth string.
- 8:55Speaker 4: That is Jalen Brown-Wallace.
- 8:57Speaker 5: Yeah, their backup running back is a transfer, Chris Johnson, Jr.,
- 9:04Speaker 5: Like you said, there's a few additions on defense. But,
- 9:09Speaker 5: I mean, shocking to me, it's not like they were
- 9:11Speaker 5: this offensive juggernaut this past year. So, it's a, you know,
- 9:18Speaker 5: respect the effort, Dabo.
- 9:20Speaker 3: Good try.
- 9:21Speaker 5: Stick into, like, your morals and stick into, you know,
- 9:26Speaker 5: operating the way you want. college football to go and
- 9:30Speaker 5: how you think it should go in your head and
- 9:31Speaker 5: in your, in your mind and.
- 9:33Speaker 3: Respect to that. But, uh, you got to adjust a
- 9:36Speaker 3: little bit more than you are.
- 9:38Speaker 5: And, um, I think you are going to probably see
- 9:43Speaker 5: that highlighted the most that it has been this year.
- 9:48Speaker 5: I think it's going to finally catch up. I mean,
- 9:50Speaker 5: it caught up to him this past year. Like they
- 9:52Speaker 5: hadn't been like super relevant. Like they were for a
- 9:55Speaker 5: decade in a couple of years. I think it's going
- 9:58Speaker 5: to be even more so this year. Wouldn't surprise me
- 10:00Speaker 5: if it wouldn't surprise me at the end of the year.
- 10:03Speaker 5: We look back and be like, oh, they weren't very good.
- 10:07Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 10:08Speaker 4: And this is people are going to take this.
- 10:11Speaker 2: I'm sure Clemson fans are going to see this and
- 10:13Speaker 2: they're going to be like, oh, my gosh. And it's
- 10:14Speaker 2: going to be this big rally cry. This isn't even
- 10:17Speaker 2: a conversation, at least for me. I don't want to
- 10:18Speaker 2: speak for Matt. But for me, this isn't a, oh,
- 10:20Speaker 2: my God, LSU is so much better than Clemson.
- 10:22Speaker 4: I'm not even talking about LSU right now. I'm just
- 10:24Speaker 4: talking about Clemson.
- 10:25Speaker 2: I'm just talking about what they have, what they don't have,
- 10:28Speaker 2: where they've been, where they're at currently right now. And, look,
- 10:33Speaker 2: unless they've got some young guys, and they do a
- 10:35Speaker 2: great job, maybe as good as anybody, at developing players.
- 10:39Speaker 4: So we'll see.
- 10:40Speaker 2: But right now, the roster I saw a year ago
- 10:42Speaker 2: compared to the one I have this year, it doesn't
- 10:44Speaker 2: look the same. And they struggled last year. Peter Woods
- 10:47Speaker 2: is a first-round pick.
- 10:48Speaker 3: T.J.
- 10:49Speaker 2: Parker is somebody that's going to be on the edge
- 10:51Speaker 2: for the Buffalo Bills. It's a pretty good football team.
- 10:54Speaker 2: Kay Klubnick won the backup job for the Jets. Antonio
- 10:56Speaker 2: Williams is going to be a stud for the commanders
- 10:58Speaker 2: at receiver. They lost those kind of guys, and they
- 11:01Speaker 2: struggled with those kind of guys. For the most part,
- 11:03Speaker 2: they're running their coaching staff back. Chad Morris does come
- 11:06Speaker 2: back as the offensive coordinator. That's where he made his hay.
- 11:10Speaker 2: That is somebody that's had success there before. I know
- 11:14Speaker 2: their special teams are going to be coached up as
- 11:16Speaker 2: well as anybody in the country. My man, Rich Passaccia,
- 11:19Speaker 2: is the special teams coordinator.
- 11:21Speaker 4: Oh, is he really?
- 11:21Speaker 3: Yes. Oh, nice, dude.
- 11:23Speaker 4: So I know that, and I can't wait.
- 11:25Speaker 2: I'm going to give him hell on the sideline on Saturday.
- 11:28Speaker 5: I mean, look, Clemson was at the top of the,
- 11:31Speaker 5: or close to the top of the food chain for
- 11:32Speaker 5: a long time for a reason, because Dabo can coach,
- 11:35Speaker 5: and he can run a program, and he develops players
- 11:38Speaker 5: really well, and I think college football is better when
- 11:42Speaker 5: Clemson is really good, so I'm not cheering to against
- 11:45Speaker 5: them being bad. I hope that LSU beats them by 20,
- 11:47Speaker 5: and then they win the rest of their games. That'd
- 11:49Speaker 5: be great. That's good for LSU. But in this world
- 11:54Speaker 5: of transfer, in this world of players getting paid, it
- 12:00Speaker 5: brings to light and elevates stars more. Just like in
- 12:04Speaker 5: the NFL, just like in professional sports, you go by,
- 12:07Speaker 5: you have their star power out there, and it helps
- 12:09Speaker 5: sell the brand. Well, there's more people talking about individual
- 12:13Speaker 5: players now because they're all making more individual decisions out there.
- 12:18Speaker 5: When nobody's talking about any individuals on a Clemson team,
- 12:22Speaker 5: that makes you worried that it's kind of a reflection
- 12:25Speaker 5: on how much talent you may or may not have.
- 12:28Speaker 5: And we've certainly never heard of a lot of these guys.
- 12:33Speaker 5: So I don't know. Maybe they are a diamond in
- 12:35Speaker 5: the rough. Maybe it's a hidden gem over there.
- 12:37Speaker 4: Of a roster.
- 12:39Speaker 5: I'm going to trust the noise a little bit on
- 12:44Speaker 5: whether they have how much talent they have. And I'm
- 12:47Speaker 5: going to say that they might be in for a
- 12:52Speaker 5: rude awakening this weekend.
- 12:54Speaker 4: I hope so. I hope so.
- 12:56Speaker 5: We will certainly all be in that stadium ready to
- 13:02Speaker 5: go and making it as difficult as possible, I believe.
- 13:05Speaker 3: Alternate line. All right.
- 13:07Speaker 4: Let's step away.
- 13:09Speaker 2: When we come back, we'll continue the conversation. Obviously, it
- 13:12Speaker 2: is game week for the LSU Tigers. We know more
- 13:15Speaker 2: about the roster for the New Orleans Saints. Nick Underhill
- 13:17Speaker 2: was wondering what happened between y'all over the last couple
- 13:21Speaker 2: days because we haven't all been together since July 14th.
- 13:26Speaker 3: Did he refer back to the month before that? Nope. Okay.
- 13:30Speaker 3: Just yesterday. Just that one time. Yep. Okay.
- 13:33Speaker 4: Don't know where you were.
- 13:34Speaker 3: All right.
- 13:34Speaker 2: More OTB when we come back here live from the garage.
- 13:38Speaker 3: Off the bench. All right.

- 15:05Speaker 1: Welcome back to Off the Bench. Wednesday's show is brought
- 15:07Speaker 1: to you by Poncho.
- 15:08Speaker 4: Every time it gets me. It's the abrupt.
- 15:15Speaker 3: I know.
- 15:15Speaker 4: Stops. And an R & B Wednesday. This is what's happening.
- 15:33Speaker 3: Of all times.
- 15:34Speaker 4: Of all times to do it. I'm not going to lie.
- 15:37Speaker 3: Yesterday, I.
- 15:39Speaker 4: Was, I don't know.
- 15:41Speaker 2: I don't know how the algorithm got me. You watch
- 15:45Speaker 2: one Boyz II Men video on Instagram, and then all
- 15:47Speaker 2: of a sudden, here comes your algorithm turning into nothing
- 15:49Speaker 2: but 90s R & B.
- 15:50Speaker 4: But you know me.
- 15:51Speaker 2: I was just, every time I scroll, I was like,
- 15:53Speaker 2: I forgot about that song.
- 15:54Speaker 3: I forgot about that song. So you didn't get much
- 15:56Speaker 3: work done yesterday. No.
- 15:59Speaker 2: You know, I mean, you know, I've got two jobs
- 16:00Speaker 2: every day and coach some football, so I got some
- 16:03Speaker 2: work done.
- 16:03Speaker 4: But, you know, when I wasn't working, it was 90s
- 16:07Speaker 4: R & B songs.
- 16:07Speaker 2: I was like, oh, my gosh. And I started to, like,
- 16:10Speaker 2: try to jot them down a little bit. I was like,
- 16:11Speaker 2: we're going to make a playlist out of this.
- 16:13Speaker 4: But then I was like, nope. I don't get to
- 16:16Speaker 4: hear it all.
- 16:18Speaker 2: I'm going to be selfish, and I'm going to wait
- 16:20Speaker 2: until next R & B day.
- 16:24Speaker 3: How do you, like, remind yourself.
- 16:27Speaker 5: So you see things on social when you're scrolling, like
- 16:29Speaker 5: what's your preferred way? Like you see something that you
- 16:33Speaker 5: might want to talk about on, on air at some point,
- 16:36Speaker 5: or you see something you want to remember a song
- 16:38Speaker 5: that you want to remember.
- 16:39Speaker 3: What's your way of like noting it, taking a note down. Screenshot.
- 16:44Speaker 5: Yeah, no, I got, I got a, I got a
- 16:47Speaker 5: film roll full of just social media screenshots.
- 16:51Speaker 3: I screenshot them. That's exactly right.
- 16:53Speaker 4: Do I ever come back to them? Absolutely not. Do
- 16:56Speaker 4: I want to? Every time.
- 16:58Speaker 5: Do I have about, you know, 100 screenshots every, like,
- 17:04Speaker 5: you know, two pictures of my kids and my family?
- 17:07Speaker 3: Probably, because I screenshot so much.
- 17:09Speaker 2: My camera roll is 20 screenshots. I would say four
- 17:15Speaker 2: pictures of cards I'm trying to sell. Yeah, and then
- 17:20Speaker 2: a bunch of videos of football games and a ton
- 17:23Speaker 2: of pictures of Harlow.
- 17:24Speaker 4: Yep. At football games.
- 17:25Speaker 3: Yep.
- 17:26Speaker 5: Right back to the screenshots yeah i'm looking at my
- 17:28Speaker 5: camera roll right now going through it i got two
- 17:30Speaker 5: screenshots from this morning um i got a lot of
- 17:33Speaker 5: pictures from last night i told you about the event
- 17:36Speaker 5: meet the tigers night yesterday we went to see um
- 17:39Speaker 5: you know like a meet the tiger thing at uh
- 17:42Speaker 5: dunham last night where all the athletes it was a
- 17:45Speaker 5: really awesome deal man we it's first time to be
- 17:47Speaker 5: a part of it because first time we've had a
- 17:49Speaker 5: cucks played on a dunham team right um We got
- 17:53Speaker 5: to see the volleyball team play last night. They played
- 17:56Speaker 5: Dominican out of New Orleans. Definitely familiar with them. I
- 18:00Speaker 5: was not familiar with the school. Definitely wasn't familiar with
- 18:04Speaker 5: the game. They were very good. Volleyball, it was very impressive.
- 18:09Speaker 5: There was great players on both sides. Dunham's got some
- 18:12Speaker 5: D1 players on the team. I didn't know what to
- 18:14Speaker 5: expect going into a high school volleyball game. I didn't
- 18:18Speaker 5: expect that, though. Like, my God, I thought I was
- 18:20Speaker 5: watching the Olympics out there. It was fantastic. But it
- 18:23Speaker 5: was a packed house crowd because all the athletes were there,
- 18:25Speaker 5: their parents, all the athletes after the game. They come
- 18:28Speaker 5: and introduce them all, the family, the coaches, everybody like praise.
- 18:33Speaker 3: Over them for the for the season and the year.
- 18:35Speaker 3: And it was just a fantastic deal. It was great.
- 18:37Speaker 2: I mean, you might not know this. Who's Dunham have
- 18:39Speaker 2: in football this week? Did they mention it like in
- 18:42Speaker 2: the pep rally?
- 18:43Speaker 5: They didn't, like, draw attention to anybody, like, any specific.
- 18:47Speaker 3: Okay. Because it's a lot of teams the whole year.
- 18:50Speaker 3: They play Parkway.
- 18:50Speaker 4: Usually a pep rally.
- 18:52Speaker 3: Okay. So you knew that. Yeah. They play Parkway.
- 18:54Speaker 2: You know, usually it's like, you know, the theme of
- 18:56Speaker 2: the pep rally is eliminate the Eagles.
- 18:59Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 18:59Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 19:00Speaker 5: I'm so excited about Dunham's schedule this year because, you know,
- 19:04Speaker 5: it's Elijah's senior year. So obviously excited to watch that
- 19:07Speaker 5: play out.
- 19:07Speaker 3: Right. He'll be enrolling.
- 19:10Speaker 5: Before you drop him off at Alabama. Before you drop
- 19:12Speaker 5: him off at Alabama, I'm sure he'll be there probably
- 19:14Speaker 5: in a couple of months because everybody goes early. But
- 19:19Speaker 5: that's one of the things for them. You hadn't really
- 19:23Speaker 5: got to see him play too many big, big games
- 19:25Speaker 5: because I like how the Louisiana high school football schedule,
- 19:29Speaker 5: but they scheduled some big opponents this year.
- 19:30Speaker 3: So I'm excited to see it. So it starts this week.
- 19:33Speaker 2: Yeah, there's going to be some great high school football
- 19:35Speaker 2: games across the state. I know where I played, I
- 19:39Speaker 2: believe I have this right. So if you're in the 3-1,
- 19:41Speaker 2: great listening. Correct me if I'm wrong. I think it's
- 19:44Speaker 2: a little bit of a throwback rivalry game. I think
- 19:46Speaker 2: Evangel West Monroe play each other in Independence Stadium, which
- 19:52Speaker 2: let me see if I can get the year right
- 19:53Speaker 2: here because, oh man, it's 24 years ago. I think
- 19:57Speaker 2: it was 2002, maybe 2001 actually now that I'm talking
- 20:01Speaker 2: it out.
- 20:01Speaker 4: So even more years.
- 20:04Speaker 2: We played, it was Evangel West Monroe in Independence Stadium
- 20:07Speaker 2: and there was like 45 50 000 people at the
- 20:10Speaker 2: game it was incredible nice dude it was incredible now
- 20:13Speaker 2: it was the only time in my career that west
- 20:16Speaker 2: monroe won the game uh but we got we actually
- 20:19Speaker 2: avenged the loss and in the state championship game we
- 20:22Speaker 2: beat them yeah he did so good for y'all but
- 20:25Speaker 2: that i think that games this weekend uh you mentioned
- 20:28Speaker 2: dunham and park view no parkway you had it right
- 20:32Speaker 2: yeah parkway up in I always have to slow down
- 20:35Speaker 2: because every time I'm supposed to say Parkview, I say
- 20:37Speaker 2: Parkway just because being from north Louisiana.
- 20:41Speaker 4: But, yeah, that's a big 5A school.
- 20:43Speaker 3: Yeah, that's a big one.
- 20:44Speaker 2: Up in Bossier City. So, no, that's a big game
- 20:47Speaker 2: for Dunham. And Hugh High's got Rummel.
- 20:50Speaker 4: The Rummel Raiders. The Rummel Raiders. Yeah.
- 20:55Speaker 3: What's your bench press?
- 20:58Speaker 4: So, I'm sure Rummel's bad.
- 21:00Speaker 3: They're not going to be good at all. They don't
- 21:02Speaker 3: even have a quarterback, you know?
- 21:03Speaker 2: Yeah, if they just had, like, a guy transfer in,
- 21:05Speaker 2: maybe they'd be a little bit better.
- 21:06Speaker 3: If they would have had a guy transfer in, like,
- 21:07Speaker 3: you know, like two weeks ago.
- 21:09Speaker 4: Throw in dimes. He's got a strange last name. Yeah,
- 21:14Speaker 4: Colton Nussmeier is his name.
- 21:16Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 21:17Speaker 4: He can spin it pretty good.
- 21:18Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 21:20Speaker 4: It's funny.
- 21:20Speaker 2: I was watching highlights because they scored, like, all the
- 21:22Speaker 2: touchdowns in their jamboree, and I'm like, oh, this man.
- 21:24Speaker 4: Rum was always good, so duh.
- 21:27Speaker 2: But I think they're going to be, like, They're super talented,
- 21:31Speaker 2: but I think they're going to be, like, state championship good.
- 21:33Speaker 4: I really do believe that this year.
- 21:36Speaker 2: And, you know, my son plays nose guard, plays zero
- 21:38Speaker 2: nose in an odd front, so he's taking all the blocks.
- 21:42Speaker 2: And I was looking, and I sent Jackson, like, a
- 21:45Speaker 2: video of their team, and I was hoping, like, he
- 21:49Speaker 2: would notice what I noticed, and he did. It was
- 21:52Speaker 2: the guards. They're big fellas. They're some big fellas. So
- 21:56Speaker 2: number 57 for the Cubs. I told him, you better
- 21:59Speaker 2: eat your Wheaties, bud. You better get your mind right.
- 22:01Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 22:02Speaker 4: Which he always does, so I'm not worried about it.
- 22:04Speaker 3: Get that Nesmeyer. Yeah. Get him. That'd be a fun
- 22:08Speaker 3: notch on the belt to get a little sack.
- 22:11Speaker 4: That would be a good one.
- 22:12Speaker 3: That would be a fun one. Yeah.
- 22:15Speaker 2: He got Elijah in the backfield last year, and that
- 22:18Speaker 2: was kind of cool for him.
- 22:18Speaker 3: That's a cool one. Hard to get down. Yeah.
- 22:21Speaker 4: He's big.
- 22:22Speaker 3: Big. He's a pretty big fella. Strong to quite strong.
- 22:25Speaker 4: So, yeah, that'd be fun.
- 22:25Speaker 2: But it's going to be great, I think. I think
- 22:27Speaker 2: it's going to be a great high school football weekend.
- 22:29Speaker 2: You know, they're not like all these college teams playing
- 22:32Speaker 2: directional school U. We've got some high school teams with
- 22:35Speaker 2: some guts, with some grit, actually going out there and
- 22:38Speaker 2: playing some really good non-district games.
- 22:42Speaker 3: Yeah, for sure.
- 22:43Speaker 4: Eastern, western Missouri Tech.
- 22:45Speaker 5: You know, I was trying to think because it was
- 22:47Speaker 5: hitting me when I was talking about the Dunham Parkway game.
- 22:50Speaker 5: I believe they're playing an independent stadium.
- 22:53Speaker 4: Oh, they are too.
- 22:54Speaker 3: Yeah. In Shreveport.
- 22:56Speaker 4: Yeah, what day is that?
- 22:57Speaker 3: Friday at 5.
- 22:58Speaker 4: Oh, so 5. It's going to be a game at 7.
- 23:02Speaker 5: So I guess it's called the Stars and Stripes Bowl,
- 23:04Speaker 5: the Border Classic, something like that.
- 23:06Speaker 3: I don't know. I believe it's on some.
- 23:08Speaker 4: Sort of ESPN.
- 23:10Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah. Look at us. How about us? A couple
- 23:13Speaker 3: of high school boys. Let's go.
- 23:14Speaker 4: Not that big of a deal.
- 23:16Speaker 3: High five.
- 23:16Speaker 4: Not that big of a deal. That's going to be
- 23:19Speaker 4: pretty sweet. That's going to be two good games.
- 23:21Speaker 3: I think it is.
- 23:22Speaker 4: Yeah. We going up to the Port City?
- 23:25Speaker 3: No.
- 23:25Speaker 1: No?
- 23:26Speaker 4: Not doing it?
- 23:27Speaker 3: No, can't do it. Can't do it. Huck's got a
- 23:30Speaker 3: birthday party.
- 23:31Speaker 4: That is the number one and number two quarterbacks, obviously,
- 23:36Speaker 4: in Louisiana.
- 23:37Speaker 2: But that's two top five quarterbacks, not playing each other,
- 23:40Speaker 2: but playing back-to-back games in the same stadium.
- 23:43Speaker 3: Yeah, I wonder if that was just lucky.
- 23:44Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 23:45Speaker 3: It just so happened.
- 23:46Speaker 4: It just so happened.
- 23:47Speaker 3: That's weird how that works out.
- 23:48Speaker 4: Are there going to be any recruiters there?
- 23:51Speaker 3: Uh-uh. Nope. No, they can just watch on TV.
- 23:53Speaker 2: That's also fair. All right, we will step away. We've

- 26:29Speaker 4: Bench is the website. We might have to get our guy,
- 26:33Speaker 4: Garrett Nussmeier, a poncho.
- 26:35Speaker 3: You know why? Oh, my gosh. It's not a great
- 26:37Speaker 3: day for him.
- 26:39Speaker 4: You know why we might get him a poncho.
- 26:40Speaker 3: Should we build this up a little bit? This is
- 26:42Speaker 3: a bad day for Garrett.
- 26:44Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 26:45Speaker 3: We had such high hopes.
- 26:46Speaker 4: Yeah, he's having such a good moment, too.
- 26:48Speaker 3: Like you said, such a great camp.
- 26:50Speaker 4: Incredible.
- 26:50Speaker 2: When I was there, everybody talking about him.
- 26:54Speaker 4: Man, Nussmeier, they had that wrong.
- 26:56Speaker 5: Man, is he going to be back up? Is he
- 26:57Speaker 5: going to make the team? Well, he got dealt some
- 27:00Speaker 5: bad news today.
- 27:04Speaker 4: He switches jersey number to number 19. Oh, gross.
- 27:08Speaker 3: Terrible.
- 27:10Speaker 4: Awful. We got to get a poncho to cover him
- 27:12Speaker 4: up so nobody sees number 19.
- 27:14Speaker 3: I mean, obviously, on the active roster, made the team.
- 27:17Speaker 4: Made the team.
- 27:18Speaker 3: Congrats. Congrats, dude. But 19?
- 27:21Speaker 4: Man. You lose a bet?
- 27:24Speaker 3: Yeah. Take it easy, Johnny Unitas.
- 27:29Speaker 4: Scott Mitchell.
- 27:30Speaker 3: Did he lose a bet?
- 27:32Speaker 5: I don't think your roster is that deep in Kansas.
- 27:34Speaker 5: That 19 was the only thing available.
- 27:36Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, 13 is his number. I think this
- 27:38Speaker 4: was dad war.
- 27:39Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 27:39Speaker 4: And so, yeah, love that. Then he went 14.
- 27:42Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 27:44Speaker 2: He moved from 14 to 19.
- 27:47Speaker 3: Yeah. Oh, boy.
- 27:50Speaker 5: This couldn't have been his choice. It must be rookie hazing.
- 27:54Speaker 5: He lost a bet.
- 27:55Speaker 3: 19, was he trying to, like. You know, be as
- 27:59Speaker 3: close to 18 as he could?
- 28:00Speaker 4: I don't think so, because who's 18? I don't know.
- 28:03Speaker 3: The Chiefs. I don't know.
- 28:05Speaker 4: No idea. I don't think so.
- 28:06Speaker 3: Gross, man.
- 28:07Speaker 2: I know Cyrus Allen, who got drafted before him, wears 13.
- 28:11Speaker 4: And, you know, that's how it goes. Like, the order
- 28:13Speaker 4: you get drafted is how you get to pick your number.
- 28:15Speaker 2: Because I was going to be 20, but our first
- 28:18Speaker 2: round pick picked 20.
- 28:20Speaker 3: Sure.
- 28:20Speaker 4: And so then that's why I went to 22.
- 28:23Speaker 3: Let's see.
- 28:23Speaker 5: What is the worst legal number a quarterback can wear?
- 28:29Speaker 3: 19.
- 28:29Speaker 4: 19.
- 28:29Speaker 3: I'm trying to think of anything worse.
- 28:33Speaker 1: 19.
- 28:34Speaker 3: It's 19. I mean, 16 is not great, but you
- 28:37Speaker 3: got Montana. Jared Goff makes it work. Has anyone ever
- 28:42Speaker 3: worn 18?
- 28:44Speaker 4: That's been like a stud. Caleb Williams.
- 28:48Speaker 3: Who does he wear at 13? Wait, what was?
- 28:50Speaker 4: 13.
- 28:54Speaker 3: What was Peyton? He's 18. Okay, he's 18. All right.
- 28:58Speaker 4: But I thought you meant, like, looking good in the uniform.
- 29:01Speaker 3: No, just a good player.
- 29:02Speaker 4: Oh, well, yeah, Peyton Manning.
- 29:03Speaker 3: Yeah, okay. I said 18, and I was like, wait
- 29:05Speaker 3: a minute.
- 29:05Speaker 5: Yeah, I remember Peyton. I remember seeing him play a
- 29:08Speaker 5: time or two. Yeah, no, 19, that's gross.
- 29:11Speaker 4: See, a lot of people saying.
- 29:12Speaker 3: So it's a bad day for us.
- 29:13Speaker 2: Some people hitting up with the 17, but I think
- 29:16Speaker 2: PR 17 and Josh Allen kind of changed.
- 29:18Speaker 5: Yeah, they changed the game on that. I used to
- 29:20Speaker 5: wear 17 as well because my dad wore it.
- 29:24Speaker 3: At Baylor. And then, so I used to wear that
- 29:26Speaker 3: as a kid. Shout out to Alvin.
- 29:28Speaker 5: Yeah, shout out to Alvin. So yeah, so 17's better.
- 29:32Speaker 5: 17's better than 19. 19, I think, objectively, is the
- 29:34Speaker 5: worst quarterback number.
- 29:35Speaker 4: It's bad. Outload in the group. It's something about the nines. 39, 49, 89.
- 29:39Speaker 3: Rough.
- 29:40Speaker 4: Now, 99, 69, not too bad. You think 89 is bad?
- 29:43Speaker 4: 79 is not too bad. I didn't say 79. I
- 29:45Speaker 4: skipped over it. 89, bad, bad.
- 29:49Speaker 3: Worst.
- 29:49Speaker 4: Okay.
- 30:00Speaker 5: Worst number, 19 or 34?
- 30:04Speaker 4: 19.
- 30:04Speaker 5: 34 is not great either.
- 30:07Speaker 4: 19.
- 30:08Speaker 2: We're trying to buy this man an extra, extra, extra
- 30:13Speaker 2: large poncho to put over his number.
- 30:15Speaker 3: 46. Ooh. 46 is not a great number.
- 30:20Speaker 4: You got to be a wide back to wear 46.
- 30:22Speaker 3: Yeah. You know what I mean?
- 30:23Speaker 4: You have a turtle back.
- 30:25Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 30:25Speaker 4: That's a wide number.
- 30:26Speaker 3: You got to be a dude.
- 30:27Speaker 4: Yeah. I don't know if there's ever been a good 46.
- 30:30Speaker 3: Got to look that up.
- 30:32Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 30:33Speaker 3: At the pro level.
- 30:34Speaker 4: Chris Harris, I think he played safety for the Bears.
- 30:36Speaker 4: Did he wear 46?
