- 0:03SPEAKER_00: Hello, everyone.
- 0:04SPEAKER_00: Welcome back to another great episode of Truth Be Told.
- 0:07SPEAKER_00: My name is Mickey.
- 0:08SPEAKER_00: I'm your host today.
- 0:09SPEAKER_00: And joining me today is my co-host Bethany, and we are talking about the power of prayer.
- 0:14SPEAKER_00: And one thing I love about this podcast is we get to speak about the truth.
- 0:19SPEAKER_00: We get to speak the word of God.
- 0:21SPEAKER_00: And one way we love to share the truth is by diving right into God's word because that's where the truth is found.
- 0:28SPEAKER_00: And it's such an honor and a joy and a pleasure to be able to come on and just share God's word with you and discuss different points of view and what God does for us and how God works in our lives, as well as where where and how God can lead us.
- 0:48SPEAKER_00: And we've been on the subject of prayer for a couple of weeks now.
- 0:51SPEAKER_00: And so far we've been talking about when to pray, why to pray, how to pray.
- 0:58SPEAKER_00: And today I'm super excited because we're shifting gears a little bit and we're going to start talking about the assurance of prayer, both not only with um praying a prayer, but receiving the answer to a prayer.
- 1:14SPEAKER_00: And I'm super excited because Bethany has put together a great lesson for us today.
- 1:18SPEAKER_00: And I can't wait to see what she has for us.
- 1:20SPEAKER_00: But I want to bring her in and say good morning and um let her um lead us off in prayer.
- 1:24SPEAKER_00: So good morning, Bethany.
- 1:26SPEAKER_01: Good morning.
- 1:29SPEAKER_01: Excited to be here and for this episode.
- 1:33SPEAKER_01: And let's pray.
- 1:36SPEAKER_01: Dear Lord, I thank you so much for this opportunity to speak truth, your truth, to share um what you have uh given me and what you want to speak through me, Lord.
- 1:59SPEAKER_01: And um, I pray you would take this time and anoint it with your Holy Spirit power.
- 2:07SPEAKER_01: Um, please bless it as we discuss the importance of deliverance, how vital that is.
- 2:23SPEAKER_01: In Jesus' name.
- 2:25SPEAKER_01: Amen.
- 2:26SPEAKER_00: Amen.
- 2:26SPEAKER_00: Thank you for that.
- 2:27SPEAKER_00: Yeah, so um today we're gonna be, like I said, discussing the assurance of deliverance, and um Bethany's Bethany, excuse me, is gonna um start us off.
- 2:37SPEAKER_00: And I think we're starting off in Psalms, is that correct?
- 2:41SPEAKER_01: Yes, yes.
- 2:43SPEAKER_01: Psalm chapter 50, verse 15.
- 2:55SPEAKER_01: So Psalm 50, verse 15, and call unto me in the day of trouble, I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.
- 3:12SPEAKER_01: Now for another episode, um well, we can dive into um that verse deeper, but for today I find it interesting that the Lord wants us to not only call on him in the day of trouble, and nowadays when is there not a day of trouble?
- 3:52SPEAKER_01: Um and so that that tells me that daily it should be important to us to call out to God to pray and then notice what it says.
- 4:14SPEAKER_01: I will deliver thee.
- 4:20SPEAKER_01: So that that alone should be confidence enough for us to know that God wants to deliver us.
- 4:34SPEAKER_01: Now, notice that it doesn't give a timetable.
- 4:40SPEAKER_01: It doesn't say, you know, the same day, or it doesn't say this week or this month, or even this year.
- 4:56SPEAKER_01: And to me that that tells me that God is wanting to stretch our faith.
- 5:23SPEAKER_01: To me, that type of thinking is exactly what Satan would want people to do, people to be like, well, yeah, God is taking so long to answer me.
- 5:39SPEAKER_01: He must not want to deliver me.
- 5:44SPEAKER_01: No, that that's not the case at all.
- 5:50SPEAKER_01: And then notice the end of the verse when it says, and thou shalt glorify me.
- 6:02SPEAKER_01: No, as I've read that more, I've come to the thought, well, could that be a double meaning?
- 6:21SPEAKER_01: And I I'm not going to get into that today.
- 6:27SPEAKER_01: Um the thought process behind that, but just to say that, you know, glorifying God.
- 6:38SPEAKER_01: What glorifies him is calling out to him, praying to him, that glorifies him.
- 6:53SPEAKER_01: But now notice verse 23 of Psalm 50.
- 7:00SPEAKER_01: The first part of the verse.
- 7:11SPEAKER_01: So that tells me that's the importance of thanking God for things when we pray.
- 7:23SPEAKER_01: And so not only calling out to God, not only praying, but also thanking him for deliverance as he's promised, not only in verse 15, but numerous other places within the Bible.
- 7:48SPEAKER_01: And so now, um, Mickey, do you have any thoughts on that?
- 7:56SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I think with that scripture, um, there's a lot of power, power behind that because when we think about being delivered um from troubles, that's what we're being delivered from when we go to God because there we're we're in the midst of troubles, with which, like you said, there's a lot going on today.
- 8:15SPEAKER_00: And I think that we live in a culture of um instant you know gratification and we need to be we need to be instantly um answered in our prayer life.
- 8:26SPEAKER_00: And a lot of times people think that God has walked away or has deserted us because um we're not getting the answer when we think we should have it.
- 8:34SPEAKER_00: And I I totally agree with that.
- 8:36SPEAKER_00: There is no timeline in that.
- 8:37SPEAKER_00: But I also like the fact that when we call on to God when we are troubled, instead of going and taking other means for our trouble, we go to God.
- 8:47SPEAKER_00: Um that does glorify God, and we can glorify God in that when we get delivered from it.
- 8:52SPEAKER_00: So there's two types of glorification there.
- 8:54SPEAKER_00: One where we glorify God for him answering the prayer, and then one where we glorify God by taking our troubles to him and trusting and having the faith in him that he's going to deliver us.
- 9:07SPEAKER_00: It just may not be right when we want it.
- 9:10SPEAKER_00: So we need to also during the the praise part of that.
- 9:14SPEAKER_00: I think while we're in the waiting period, that's the best time to be praising.
- 9:20SPEAKER_00: Praising God that he's gonna deliver us.
- 9:22SPEAKER_00: He says he's gonna deliver us.
- 9:24SPEAKER_00: He doesn't, he doesn't um say something and take it back.
- 9:28SPEAKER_00: He's not a person that teases.
- 9:29SPEAKER_00: Now the enemy will tease you and say, Oh, he's not answering your prayers, he's not really gonna deliver you.
- 9:35SPEAKER_00: Um, but if you're praising him, it's like you know how that song Praise Him in the Storm.
- 9:39SPEAKER_00: We're supposed to really be praising him throughout the storm.
- 9:42SPEAKER_00: And that also will glorify God.
- 9:44SPEAKER_00: And sometimes I think while we're going through troubles when we call on God, I think he wants to see if we really are faithful and believing that he's gonna deliver us.
- 9:54SPEAKER_00: So he makes us wait out the storm.
- 9:56SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 9:57SPEAKER_00: Sometimes we don't see the rainbow until after the storm.
- 10:00SPEAKER_00: The promise is always there.
- 10:02SPEAKER_00: So I tell, you know, I try to explain it in a way that, excuse me, that we need to make sure we understand that when we're praising him, we need to be praising him even through our troubles.
- 10:14SPEAKER_00: Excuse me.
- 10:15SPEAKER_00: But um, if that makes any sense.
- 10:17SPEAKER_01: Yes, perfect sense.
- 10:20SPEAKER_01: Um it yes, it it's amazing.
- 10:27SPEAKER_01: Um, you know, uh another subject for another time, but it's amazing to see how many people, how many Christians they get into trouble troubles and that and instead of going to God, they go to other people and it it's like I can I can picture God in heaven being like um hello, but um I'm here and it's just like but yes that that is another subject for another time.
- 11:27SPEAKER_01: Um now as we continue to talk about um the assurance of God's deliverance, let's notice first second Corinthians one verses nine and ten verse nine but we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raised the dead.
- 12:12SPEAKER_01: Verse ten, who delivered us from so great a death and doth deliver, in whom we trust that he will yet deliver.
- 12:28SPEAKER_01: And so verse ten specifically, I think, is giving us that even greater assurance that God will deliver.
- 12:48SPEAKER_01: No, that's not to say it will be in our time frame.
- 12:57SPEAKER_01: That's not to say that it will be necessarily as we would want um deliverance, and yet that verse gives me so much confidence that God will deliver in his time, in his way.
- 13:27SPEAKER_01: And so, Mickey, do you have any thoughts on that?
- 13:33SPEAKER_00: I think that um, as I was thinking about the troubles again, kind of going back to Psalms and um putting it with this scripture here, I think a lot of times we we kind of wiggle ourselves into trouble and we forget that God pulls us out of it.
- 13:49SPEAKER_00: He pulls us out of the mire, you know, after the refining process.
- 13:54SPEAKER_00: And um it's interesting because I think about the three men on the cross, you know, the one that was mocking God and the other one that said, you know, you know, Lord, take me with you, take me with you, because he's seen something in Jesus, even though he, you know, had he had done wrong and he'd been probably troubled his entire life, that poor guy.
- 14:15SPEAKER_00: He didn't get to walk in any freedom on on this earth in his fleshly body, but he was allowed um his place in eternity just by recognizing the power of Jesus next to him on a cross during his sacrifice.
- 14:29SPEAKER_00: I mean, can you I mean I can't even fathom that, but because it's just so powerful, yeah, but that deliverance comes from that moment, from that moment on the cross.
- 14:39SPEAKER_00: It literally does.
- 14:40SPEAKER_00: Um, and that's where it says, you know, he, you know, his death delivers us from our death.
- 14:46SPEAKER_00: And we are gonna die.
- 14:47SPEAKER_00: Our earthly bodies are gonna die.
- 14:49SPEAKER_00: But we want to have our eternal salvation.
- 14:52SPEAKER_00: We want to know that God is going to raise all of us from the dead when we die.
- 14:58SPEAKER_00: Um, and when we also think about when he's raising people from the dead, you know, if if we're if we're going to people that um don't serve at all in the spiritual realm, those are not the people you should probably be going to with your troubles.
- 15:16SPEAKER_00: Because I guarantee you, they probably have troubles of their own.
- 15:19SPEAKER_00: And they may give you some directions.
- 15:21SPEAKER_00: It may be guided or misguided, honestly.
- 15:24SPEAKER_00: You're gonna pick and choose your battles there.
- 15:26SPEAKER_00: And sometimes when you don't go to God and you go to somebody else, your troubles are gonna intensify, honestly.
- 15:32SPEAKER_00: They're gonna take you the wrong direction.
- 15:33SPEAKER_00: I know I've been there, I've done that, I've placed my trust into people where I thought, oh, I'm gonna go ask this person what to do.
- 15:39SPEAKER_00: And um, it wasn't the person I should have asked for advice.
- 15:43SPEAKER_00: But hopefully God will give you that discernment.
- 15:46SPEAKER_00: And I think when we think about his deliverance, where if God is so powerful he can raise people from the dead, I think that's the person we should be putting our trust into, somebody that has that kind of power, opposed to just somebody that's just as troubled as we are.
- 16:01SPEAKER_00: So we need to try to look at that analogy and go, you know, I see this person over here, that person's really troubled.
- 16:07SPEAKER_00: Yeah, they may understand what you're going through.
- 16:08SPEAKER_00: They may be able to be able to relate with you.
- 16:10SPEAKER_00: And it's okay to converse with them about your troubles, but don't put your trust in them when it comes to getting delivered from them.
- 16:17SPEAKER_00: The only person that can actually deliver you is God.
- 16:21SPEAKER_01: Amen.
- 16:21SPEAKER_00: You know, with the you know, that's why Jesus went to the cross.
- 16:24SPEAKER_00: And sometimes we search for deliverance.
- 16:27SPEAKER_00: It's really not deliverance that I think we search for, I think it's validation.
- 16:32SPEAKER_00: I think it's um it's a people-pleasing, a sacrificial, we want their approval validation instead of being delivered.
- 16:41SPEAKER_00: And I think people don't understand that what we really need is the deliverance.
- 16:44SPEAKER_00: We don't need the validation.
- 16:46SPEAKER_00: God validated us when he went to the cross.
- 16:48SPEAKER_00: That validation was signed, sealed, and delivered that day.
- 16:52SPEAKER_00: And so I find that when we talk about deliverance, that I honestly don't think we talk about deliverance enough in the world.
- 16:59SPEAKER_00: And I think that if we got delivered more, instead of just being um sugarcoated and patted on the back and and accepted with every single thing, everything's allowed.
- 17:09SPEAKER_00: Everything is accepted.
- 17:12SPEAKER_00: Um people don't want to talk about the truth.
- 17:14SPEAKER_00: That's why we have this podcast because we like to talk about the truth.
- 17:17SPEAKER_00: We want people to know we're not trying to hurt people or beat people with the Bible, but we want people to get God's deliverance.
- 17:25SPEAKER_01: Amen.
- 17:25SPEAKER_00: And people are gonna get so free once they recognize the difference between being validated by people in general or being delivered by Jesus Christ, our Savior.
- 17:37SPEAKER_00: That power is amazing.
- 17:39SPEAKER_00: So I don't I don't know if that makes any sense or not, but it is, and um, you know, we could spend hours on that, um and yet keeping this episode um time, and so as we continue to think about um the assurance of deliverance, let's now go to our last scripture for this episode, and that is Isaiah 26, verses three and four.
- 18:40SPEAKER_01: Verse three.
- 18:43SPEAKER_01: Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee, because he trusteth in thee.
- 18:52SPEAKER_01: Verse four, trust ye in the Lord forever, for in the Lord Jehovah is everlasting strength.
- 19:06SPEAKER_01: And again, those two verses separately could be episodes in and of themselves, and maybe they will be down the road.
- 19:20SPEAKER_01: But you know, as we as we look at those two verses, let's be reminded of the peace that God offers through not only his deliverance, but through time with him.
- 19:48SPEAKER_01: And that that is one area again where Satan loves to keep people busy.
- 20:00SPEAKER_01: But or maybe I should say he loves to tempt people to stay busy, but that busyness is anything not related to God, and we need to make a choice to not give in to Satan's busyness.
- 20:35SPEAKER_01: We need to choose to do those things that uplift us, that edify God, that draw us closer to God.
- 20:50SPEAKER_01: And so because God will give us peace, even in the midst of things, it's personally just amazing to me in my various situations.
- 21:14SPEAKER_01: The peace that God gives is so incredible, so freeing.
- 21:25SPEAKER_01: Um but you know, verse four of Isaiah twenty says Trust ye in the Lord.
- 21:42SPEAKER_01: How long?
- 21:44SPEAKER_01: Forever.
- 21:53SPEAKER_01: That will be another episode.
- 22:00SPEAKER_01: And then it goes on.
- 22:05SPEAKER_01: We're in the Lord Jehovah.
- 22:09SPEAKER_01: Not just Jehovah is one of God's names.
- 22:16SPEAKER_01: Jehovah is um, I believe, his supreme, ultimate name, I believe.
- 22:29SPEAKER_01: Um and so even that encourages that, okay, when we put our trust in God, we're not just putting our trust in anyone, we're putting our trust in the creator of the universe.
- 22:55SPEAKER_01: We're putting our trust in the creator of each one of us.
- 23:02SPEAKER_01: And to even stop and realize that and so the peace that we can have because we go to God, he doesn't care how much time we spend with him.
- 23:27SPEAKER_01: He has unlimited time.
- 23:31SPEAKER_01: And the great thing is it's not limited to just Mickey or myself or some other person.
- 23:54SPEAKER_01: Is able to be stretched amongst each one of us.
- 24:01SPEAKER_01: And so never think that my problems aren't important enough.
- 24:17SPEAKER_01: My situation isn't important enough to take care.
- 24:24SPEAKER_01: No.
- 24:26SPEAKER_01: No, there's no situation.
- 24:29SPEAKER_01: No storm.
- 24:33SPEAKER_01: No need for deliverance.
- 24:35SPEAKER_01: Deliverance that's too small.
- 24:40SPEAKER_01: And so, Mickey, what are your closing thoughts?
- 24:48SPEAKER_00: Well, actually, I have a few on this because there's a lot to these two verses.
- 24:54SPEAKER_00: Um, I one one thing I want to address is in verse 3 where it says, Thou will keep him in perfect peace.
- 25:01SPEAKER_00: We're not talking about just um a peace that just is um a reassurance.
- 25:09SPEAKER_00: He's talking about completely perfect peace, a peace that you can't get anywhere else other than through him.
- 25:16SPEAKER_00: Um, there is no perfect peace other than through Jesus Christ.
- 25:20SPEAKER_00: So if we want perfect peace, we need to be trusting in him, we need to be walking with him.
- 25:26SPEAKER_00: And that's why it says, whose mind is stayed on me?
- 25:28SPEAKER_00: If we keep our focus on Jesus Christ, we can actually be and have that perfect peace that God wants us to have.
- 25:36SPEAKER_00: Now, if we're not trusting in that peace or we don't have enough faith in it, and we we sift and we um um teeter from that faith that we're supposed to have, that's why we don't feel like we have perfect peace.
- 25:54SPEAKER_00: God has perfect peace for us, for our lives, but he can't just dish it out to you if he knows your faith isn't on point.
- 26:04SPEAKER_00: That's why it says to stay, keep your mind stayed on him, because you need to stay focused on him.
- 26:10SPEAKER_00: That way he can give you that perfect, perfect peace.
- 26:12SPEAKER_00: And then in verse four, it says, trusting in the Lord forever.
- 26:17SPEAKER_00: And I'm gonna talk about this for a minute.
- 26:18SPEAKER_00: It says, for the Lord Jehovah is everlasting.
- 26:21SPEAKER_00: So forever and everlasting means it's a continual.
- 26:27SPEAKER_00: It goes on and on and on and on.
- 26:29SPEAKER_00: There is no end.
- 26:30SPEAKER_00: And I know that in the end we die, but we're talking about eternal life.
- 26:35SPEAKER_00: We're talking about um our existence after our fleshly bodies die.
- 26:40SPEAKER_00: And actually, the word Jehovah um means I am who I am, which means he who is.
- 26:47SPEAKER_00: It's a self, means he's the self-existent one, signifying God is eternal.
- 26:53SPEAKER_00: There's he's unchanging and a powerful being being, um, and and stemming from um uh what is the word?
- 27:03SPEAKER_00: The word uh it's a verb, it's um have have of.
- 27:07SPEAKER_00: I don't know how to say it.
- 27:08SPEAKER_00: It's H A V A H.
- 27:09SPEAKER_00: And it means literally to be.
- 27:11SPEAKER_00: It means just to be.
- 27:13SPEAKER_00: There's no altering it.
- 27:15SPEAKER_00: So it's always existent, it cannot be removed, it cannot be erased, it cannot, it's it's always going to maintain and stay forever.
- 27:25SPEAKER_00: And that is his faithful promise to us when he says in this scripture, that's why it says, trust ye in the Lord forever.
- 27:34SPEAKER_00: And that's why they're referring to him as Lord Jehovah, because he is the everlasting, he is the forever, he is the eternal.
- 27:42SPEAKER_00: And if we do that, we're not only gonna get everlasting strength.
- 27:49SPEAKER_00: We're I mean, we're not only gonna get strength, we're gonna get everlasting strength, is what I meant to say.
- 27:54SPEAKER_00: And sometimes I think that we walk around with um ourselves like um we walk around um feeling weak all the time, like we have no power.
- 28:06SPEAKER_00: Look at Samson.
- 28:07SPEAKER_00: Look at look at David and Goliath.
- 28:09SPEAKER_00: Look at how little David was opposed to Goliath.
- 28:12SPEAKER_00: Um, where did that strength come from?
- 28:14SPEAKER_00: Where did Samson's strength come from?
- 28:16SPEAKER_00: I know a lot of it is in his hair, but why?
- 28:18SPEAKER_00: Because God gave it to him there, you know.
- 28:20SPEAKER_00: Um God gave him everlasting strength because he believed so highly in Jehovah.
- 28:26SPEAKER_00: And if we believe in Jehovah and we trust, it says, trust ye in the Lord.
- 28:32SPEAKER_00: We have to have that faith.
- 28:33SPEAKER_00: That little mustard seed of faith, we have to have it.
- 28:36SPEAKER_00: If we don't trust in him, then we can't ever foresee or even believe in forever.
- 28:42SPEAKER_00: Does that make sense?
- 28:43SPEAKER_00: We only see what's in front of us.
- 28:45SPEAKER_00: So we think if it's only existent right here, we can't see what's eternal.
- 28:50SPEAKER_00: God's in the supernatural.
- 28:52SPEAKER_00: We're in the natural.
- 28:53SPEAKER_00: And so we can't even step into or fathom an eternal, everlasting um foreverness with God or an everlasting strength.
- 29:04SPEAKER_00: God will strengthen us forever if we trust in him.
- 29:08SPEAKER_00: But the minute we take our eyes off from him, look what happened to Peter in the water.
- 29:13SPEAKER_00: Peter started sinking.
- 29:14SPEAKER_00: And Jesus said, Well, why'd you take your eyes off from me?
- 29:17SPEAKER_00: You know, you know, real simple.
- 29:19SPEAKER_00: He made it real simple.
- 29:20SPEAKER_00: And then, like Jesus was sleeping on the boat during the storm.
- 29:23SPEAKER_00: Why was he so calm?
- 29:24SPEAKER_00: Why, why was he so calm during the storm?
- 29:27SPEAKER_00: And God, I think God wants us to demonstrate and also watch.
- 29:32SPEAKER_00: He's he's very observant to what we do as creatures of habit, basically, in our human nature and in our flesh, and how we deal with Satan, you know, you know, that likes to tantalize us.
- 29:45SPEAKER_00: I think God sometimes puts us in that test to see where we put our trust.
- 29:51SPEAKER_00: Are we going to stay in a peace of mind or are we gonna go into a phase of panic during the storm?
- 29:55SPEAKER_00: And a lot of times we go into panic mode.
- 29:58SPEAKER_00: We get outraged, we get mad, we become emotional.
- 30:01SPEAKER_00: Our physical beings take over our mental and spiritual beings when we are faced with troubles.
- 30:07SPEAKER_00: And I think that God wants us to have perfect peace while we're in trouble.
- 30:12SPEAKER_00: And it's hard to do that.
- 30:13SPEAKER_00: It's hard to step back and go, how am I gonna handle the situation and not overreact right now?
- 30:19SPEAKER_00: Because right now I want to punch that girl or that guy right in the throat because you know, they're just making me so mad, or whatever the situation is.
- 30:26SPEAKER_00: There's times when um, you know, I I I used to love the expression the the throat punch, you know, I I because there's a few times people would be talking and I could just visualize myself wanting to do that.
- 30:37SPEAKER_00: And I had to ask God to remove that from me because I'm like, oh my gosh, this person is really, you know, being such a jerk.
- 30:43SPEAKER_00: And I'm about to, you know, I'm I'm like, Lord help me not to open my mouth because I'm gonna say something really rude.
- 30:50SPEAKER_00: And God really had to show me, you know, that in order for me to have peace over it, I don't have to react to that person, what they're doing or how they're behaving or anything that's going on.
- 31:01SPEAKER_00: I don't have to take his troubles and make them my troubles.
- 31:04SPEAKER_00: I can be at perfect peace.
- 31:06SPEAKER_00: And that's what what I think the scripture is, you know, really focusing in on when it comes to the assurance of deliverance.
- 31:13SPEAKER_00: If we want deliverance, um, we have to seek out that perfect peace.
- 31:18SPEAKER_00: And that'll help us to not only strengthen us, I think God will give us so much strength, especially the everlasting strength that we want.
- 31:26SPEAKER_00: Instead of us walking around so weak, like, oh, I can't do this, Lord.
- 31:30SPEAKER_00: I can't, I can't, I can't, I don't know how.
- 31:32SPEAKER_00: And God tells you right here how to do it.
- 31:35SPEAKER_00: Trust in me.
- 31:36SPEAKER_00: Trust in me, and I'll give you the strength.
- 31:38SPEAKER_00: But if we're not trusting and putting that little bit of faith in him, we're gonna stay in our weakness.
- 31:44SPEAKER_00: So I think it's so important.
- 31:46SPEAKER_00: This is such a good lesson because when we go to God in prayer and we start praying for these things, we need to really keep in mind what he's wanting from us, what he's wanting.
- 31:58SPEAKER_00: And he wants to, he wants to deliver on his promise that he's given us, but we have to do our part in having the faith to trust him in the process, knowing that you know what?
- 32:10SPEAKER_00: Before you even sometimes pray it, you need to believe it first.
- 32:14SPEAKER_00: Sometimes we go to God in prayer, and it's not even a prayer, it's doubt.
- 32:19SPEAKER_00: We're doubting it before we even ask for it.
- 32:22SPEAKER_00: We're like, okay, God, well, if you feel like it or if you want, or you know, I don't know if you're gonna do this or not.
- 32:29SPEAKER_00: And that's that's how the enemy wants us to go to God in prayer, because if he can keep doubt on us or in our minds, God doesn't want to receive a prayer like that.
- 32:39SPEAKER_00: We have to have that ultimate trust and trust in him, like it says, the faith in him, like it says, and we have to desire that perfect peace in order for us to receive the Jehovah that we are, you know, promised in this word.
- 32:55SPEAKER_00: And I think that we sell ourselves short because we allow those little words of doubt to come into our mind and play the devil's advocate, so to speak, and detour us from where God really wants to take us.
- 33:08SPEAKER_00: Does that make sense?
- 33:09SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 33:10SPEAKER_00: I hope that answers your question.
- 33:11SPEAKER_00: But I mean, I know that was a lot, but there's a lot to these two scriptures with you know it being forever, the Lord forever, and then the everlasting strength.
- 33:19SPEAKER_00: And I don't know about you, but there's times that I've been weak, and it's ridiculous how we could be in a moment of weakness and forget where we can get our strength from.
- 33:30SPEAKER_00: Sometimes we just like, oh, I just gotta get out of bed, oh, I just gotta do this, I just gotta do that, and oh, I just don't, I don't have the strength, I can't muster up the strength to do it.
- 33:38SPEAKER_00: Wait a minute, if I just ask God right now to give me the strength, I can do it.
- 33:44SPEAKER_00: I can do it, I can do it, you know.
- 33:46SPEAKER_00: And it may not be perfect, but the more you start doing that, the more strength he's gonna give you, the more buildup he's gonna give you.
- 33:52SPEAKER_00: And I believe that God does that.
- 33:55SPEAKER_00: So I hope that answers your question.
- 33:57SPEAKER_01: Yes, so powerful and so needed.
- 34:07SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 34:09SPEAKER_01: We for those listening, please take time to really allow the Holy Spirit to impress upon you what you can learn from what we've shared here.
- 34:30SPEAKER_01: Um yes, we have responsibilities.
- 34:40SPEAKER_01: We're not saying to neglect those, but really focus on where do you spend your free time, where do you spend your downtime?
- 35:01SPEAKER_01: And so as we close out this episode, I would encourage listeners just a kid take that time, give the Holy Spirit time to work, don't put a timetable on him and say, Well, you only have this amount of time, and if you don't do it in this amount of time, then I'm not trusting you.
- 35:40SPEAKER_01: No, don't tempt the Holy Spirit here.
- 35:49SPEAKER_01: That's that's another episode, but just be wise with how you spend your time, you know, God has given us everything we need to not only survive here on earth, but to thrive.
- 36:17SPEAKER_01: Are we taking that time?
- 36:20SPEAKER_01: Are we bathing in that assurance of his deliverance?
- 36:31SPEAKER_01: He will deliver in his time, in his way.
- 36:38SPEAKER_01: And so, Mickey, do you have any closing thoughts?
- 36:44SPEAKER_00: Um, no, I just um I I think it would be good to pray um in closing, but um, which I'll do that in just a minute.
- 36:52SPEAKER_00: I think that this leads us into our next episode, which we're gonna be talking about God's time, and which I think just connects the dots, which we've been doing um in this series talking about prayer.
- 37:02SPEAKER_00: And there there's so much to this topic that we could go on for weeks and weeks and weeks and weeks because the Bible is um so full of telling us and teaching us how to pray, when to pray, why to pray, um, what circumstance to pray in.
- 37:17SPEAKER_00: And not only that, but it teaches us that if we want those promises that God fulfills us, we need to be walking in the truth and in God's word, and um, we need to be praying.
- 37:28SPEAKER_00: And the the way to have a relationship with God is through prayer.
- 37:32SPEAKER_00: It's huge.
- 37:33SPEAKER_00: I mean, yes, we can worship, yes, we can serve, but if we don't have that one-on-one relationship with Him and we're not in constant prayer with Him, we're missing the boat.
- 37:41SPEAKER_00: And I know a lot of people will show up at church, but they don't pray at all.
- 37:45SPEAKER_00: They show up at the worship concerts, they don't pray at all.
- 37:49SPEAKER_00: They'll be raising their hands and praising, but they're not praying.
- 37:52SPEAKER_00: And so we need to remember that when we fold our hands, that you know, God gave us two hands for a reason, and so we can fold them together in prayer.
- 37:59SPEAKER_00: And give us two knees so that we can kneel down and we can worship God.
- 38:03SPEAKER_00: And I think it's important that we remember how simple that is, because there is so much power in prayer.
- 38:11SPEAKER_00: We have no idea how much power we have as Christians that God instills within us walking with Jesus every single day because Jesus lives within us.
- 38:24SPEAKER_00: And if we don't have that relationship with Him and it doesn't, it's not showing or shining, then we're missing the boat.
- 38:30SPEAKER_00: And I it needs to start with prayer.
- 38:32SPEAKER_00: Matter of fact, you know, when we do pray, it's the salvation prayer that leads us to Jesus.
- 38:37SPEAKER_00: That's where it starts from the salvation prayer or the sinner's prayer.
- 38:40SPEAKER_00: Some people call it the sinner's prayer.
- 38:42SPEAKER_00: I like to call it the salvation prayer because I want to be saved.
- 38:44SPEAKER_00: I don't no longer want to be a sinner, even though we're taking sinners into the salvation, but um, you know, through the blood of Jesus, but it's a work in progress.
- 38:54SPEAKER_00: And a lot of times people think, well, my life is such a mess.
- 38:58SPEAKER_00: There's no way God's gonna want me.
- 39:00SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna have to straighten, you know, I'm gonna have to, you know, there's a lot to this Bible thing.
- 39:04SPEAKER_00: I can't figure it all out.
- 39:05SPEAKER_00: I'm never gonna be good enough.
- 39:07SPEAKER_00: I'm never gonna measure up.
- 39:09SPEAKER_00: God doesn't care about any of that.
- 39:11SPEAKER_00: The devil wants us to think that so that we don't walk into that path.
- 39:15SPEAKER_00: He wants us to think and take all of our troubles and not lay them at the feet of Jesus, like the word says that we are to do.
- 39:23SPEAKER_00: We're supposed to take our troubles and lay them at Jesus' feet, that burden.
- 39:27SPEAKER_00: And we don't do that because the enemy is giving us that doubt again.
- 39:31SPEAKER_00: And so we have to step away from the enemy and we have to put a little bit of trust in God.
- 39:36SPEAKER_00: And the more you do that day in and day out, the more God will reveal Himself to you.
- 39:41SPEAKER_00: He's not just gonna show up one day and give it all to you.
- 39:44SPEAKER_00: It doesn't work that way.
- 39:45SPEAKER_00: You know, it's just like at Christmas, you don't buy your kid every single thing they have ever wanted their whole entire life, you know, on Christmas Day.
- 39:52SPEAKER_00: You know what I mean?
- 39:52SPEAKER_00: It just does not happen.
- 39:54SPEAKER_00: And um, so um, when we think about stuff like that, so I think it's important that as we're focusing in on the topic of prayer and the assurance and the deliverance of prayer, I know for myself that um I often forget, even you know, as a Christian, um, even in my prayer life, that um I know that God wants to deliver me from whatever I'm praying for, whatever troubles I'm going through, whatever it is um I'm asking for, um, as long as the intent of my heart is is if I have an upright posture with with God, you know.
- 40:30SPEAKER_00: But if I once I step out on that doubt, God's gonna be like, you're not quite trusting me, are you?
- 40:35SPEAKER_00: You're not quite trusting me, are you?
- 40:36SPEAKER_00: You know, I'm still right here, I'm not going anywhere, you know.
- 40:39SPEAKER_00: Um, and he can't fulfill his promise if we don't put the trust and faith in him to do it.
- 40:46SPEAKER_00: We don't believe he's gonna do it, then he can't fulfill it.
- 40:49SPEAKER_00: Um, and he wants to do that.
- 40:51SPEAKER_00: So to our listeners today, that if if you're struggling with any type of prayer, if you need any prayer for anything, you can go to crushingstrongholds.com.
- 40:59SPEAKER_00: There's a place that um where you can put in a request for prayer.
- 41:03SPEAKER_00: Um, also Bethany has a website.
- 41:05SPEAKER_00: You can go check out her website.
- 41:06SPEAKER_00: There's a lot, a lot of um Bible study scripture in there.
- 41:09SPEAKER_00: Um, you can look that up and get that information.
- 41:13SPEAKER_00: And um, if you're really wanting to seek out God's word, Bethany is really good.
- 41:17SPEAKER_00: She's so studious when it comes to the Word of God.
- 41:21SPEAKER_00: She knows what she's talking about.
- 41:23SPEAKER_00: Um, she spends the time, it's quality.
- 41:26SPEAKER_00: Um, she loves Jesus and she loves to share Jesus with people.
- 41:29SPEAKER_00: And I love that she has such a big heart for God.
- 41:32SPEAKER_00: And I love that she's willing to come on here on this podcast and just share with y'all the truth because a lot of people are so afraid of speaking the truth because of what may come.
- 41:45SPEAKER_00: And um, I'm so over that.
- 41:47SPEAKER_00: I'm I'm over that.
- 41:48SPEAKER_00: The truth is not overrated, the truth needs to be rated, and it needs to be rated by the by the word and the grace and the truth of Jesus Christ.
- 41:56SPEAKER_00: And if it's not, then we're not doing our part as Christians.
- 41:58SPEAKER_00: I think we're failing.
- 42:00SPEAKER_00: So I I've been like really on that lately with with you know, just feeling like, you know, people are like, oh, you know, you got to be careful when you're telling the truth.
- 42:07SPEAKER_00: If you're telling the truth and it hurts, then that person's being convicted.
- 42:11SPEAKER_00: Right now, God's gonna convict you.
- 42:14SPEAKER_00: And that's a good thing.
- 42:15SPEAKER_00: I want to be convicted.
- 42:16SPEAKER_00: If I'm doing something wrong and someone speaks the truth to me and I'm like, oh man, and that don't sit right with me, I better go do some self-evaluating.
- 42:24SPEAKER_00: I better go check, you know, check myself before I wreck myself, kind of thing.
- 42:27SPEAKER_00: That's what I tell my daughter, go check yourself, you know.
- 42:30SPEAKER_00: But um, it's important that um we remember that God wants us to have perfect peace.
- 42:38SPEAKER_00: He wants us to have everlasting strength, he wants us um to be delivered, and we will be delivered in the end.
- 42:45SPEAKER_00: Um but I do not want to hear the words, you know, I I do not know you, you know, in the end.
- 42:52SPEAKER_00: I don't want to hear those words.
- 42:53SPEAKER_00: I I want to I want to be pleasing to God.
- 42:57SPEAKER_00: And this pleases God.
- 42:59SPEAKER_00: It honors God when you pray to him.
- 43:01SPEAKER_00: It's his word says it.
- 43:03SPEAKER_00: It honors me, it glorifies me.
- 43:05SPEAKER_00: When you praise me in prayer and you praise me in the storm, and you praise me and you pray to me, it glorifies me.
- 43:13SPEAKER_00: Because he knows when we're talking to him, that one we believe in him, that we just know that he his existence anyway.
- 43:20SPEAKER_00: We may not believe in the deliverance of the prayer, but we believe in a God, in God, you know.
- 43:26SPEAKER_00: And hopefully you're praying to God and not a little g God.
- 43:30SPEAKER_00: Like be careful to what who or what you're praying to.
- 43:33SPEAKER_00: Um, make sure you know who God is when you're praying.
- 43:36SPEAKER_00: Um, I know that the enemy can twist that up a little bit.
- 43:39SPEAKER_00: And some people say, Oh, I pray to God all the time.
- 43:41SPEAKER_00: Well, is it the right God?
- 43:42SPEAKER_00: Are you praying to God?
- 43:43SPEAKER_00: Like Jehovah, that God, let's pray to that God, you know.
- 43:47SPEAKER_00: Um, so we need to be mindful.
- 43:49SPEAKER_00: But with today's lesson, I just want to thank everyone for being here and um I will close us out in prayer.
- 43:56SPEAKER_00: Does that sound good?
- 43:57SPEAKER_00: Do you have anything else to say, real quick, Bethany, or are you good?
- 44:00SPEAKER_02: No.
- 44:01SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 44:01SPEAKER_00: All right, Father God, Lord, we just thank you so much.
- 44:04SPEAKER_00: Lord, we thank you for your word.
- 44:05SPEAKER_00: We thank you for the truth.
- 44:06SPEAKER_00: Lord, help us to speak your truth and and share your word the way you would have it to be spoken, Lord.
- 44:12SPEAKER_00: We just want to be able to um get the scriptures out and across to people that that need to hear them, Lord.
- 44:18SPEAKER_00: And Lord, I just pray that if anybody needs this message today, that you just release it to them, Lord, that they get it and they get to hear it and they get to listen to it, they get to watch it.
- 44:26SPEAKER_00: And Lord, I just ask that if anybody needs prayer, that they just reach out to Bethany or myself, that we could pray for them.
- 44:33SPEAKER_00: And Lord, I just ask that you help anybody that's seeking out or needing deliverance, even through prayer, if they just reach out as well, Lord.
- 44:39SPEAKER_00: And um, we just want to help people, Lord.
- 44:41SPEAKER_00: We want to teach people how to take your word and um put the truth on it, Lord.
- 44:47SPEAKER_00: We want your word to shine the way that you want it to be for uh fulfilled, Lord.
- 44:54SPEAKER_00: We just thank you for the power that you've given us through pra prayer, Lord.
- 44:57SPEAKER_00: We thank you that we have a connection, we have a lifeline to you, God, and that is through prayer.
- 45:02SPEAKER_00: Lord, I just ask that today, if there's anybody that's listening that may not know you, that they get a chance to come to know you by praying a simple prayer, just by asking you into their heart, asking that you forgive for our sins, Lord.
- 45:15SPEAKER_00: And Lord, that you would just um fulfill us with your word and your love.
- 45:19SPEAKER_00: Lord, we just thank you so much, Lord, that you've been with us today.
- 45:22SPEAKER_00: We just ask that you bless this time.
- 45:24SPEAKER_00: We you bless this podcast in Jesus' name.
- 45:26SPEAKER_00: I pray.
- 45:26SPEAKER_00: Amen.
- 45:28SPEAKER_00: All right.
- 45:28SPEAKER_00: Thank you everyone for watching.
- 45:30SPEAKER_00: And our next episode, we're going to be talking about God's timing.
- 45:33SPEAKER_00: And so we look forward to seeing you all again.
- 45:36SPEAKER_00: Thank you and take care.
- 45:37SPEAKER_00: God bless.
