Speaker 1: Welcome to Dirty Rush, The Truth about Sorority Life with
• 0:04
Speaker 1: your hosts me Gia.
• 0:06
Speaker 2: Judice, Daisy Kent, and Jennifer Fessler.
• 0:11
Speaker 3: This is a very special episode of Dirty Rush. We
• 0:14
Speaker 3: are on a top secret sorority girl and one fraternity
• 0:19
Speaker 3: boy retreat. I will not even say where we are,
• 0:23
Speaker 3: but what we want you all to know is that
• 0:26
Speaker 3: it's work week and a lot of people are probably
• 0:28
Speaker 3: saying to themselves, the hell is work week? A sorority girl,
• 0:33
Speaker 3: especially this younger era of sorority girls, really knows what
• 0:38
Speaker 3: work week is. I think in I am fifty, so
• 0:41
Speaker 3: in my era, I don't know that we actually called
• 0:44
Speaker 3: it work week, but we called it pre rush. So
• 0:48
Speaker 3: we want to let everybody listening in on the secrets
• 0:52
Speaker 3: of work week. So we begin with Catherine, who is
• 0:59
Speaker 3: a current Kapa Kapa gamma at a school we will
• 1:02
  Speaker 3: not name.
• 1:04
Speaker 4: Uh, Catherine, what year are you?
• 1:07
Speaker 5: I'm going to be a senior, So let me ask
• 1:10
  Speaker 5: you this first.
• 1:12
Speaker 3: Do seniors get to do less work during rush than
• 1:16
  Speaker 3: sophomores and juniors?
• 1:18
Speaker 5: We do less during work week?
• 1:21
Speaker 6: We do the same amount as Rush just because we've
• 1:24
Speaker 6: already done it in the past.
• 1:26
Speaker 5: We've learned everything. We kind of the gist.
• 1:28
Speaker 6: We'll go into work week the last day just to
• 1:31
Speaker 6: like get our groove.
• 1:32
Speaker 5: With the younger people.
• 1:34
Speaker 6: Make sure that like we can like memory, like re
• 1:36
Speaker 6: memorize everything, because it's like it's like riding a bike,
• 1:39
Speaker 6: like you learn the songs once, like you get it
• 1:41
Speaker 6: again after doing it with the group.
• 1:43
Speaker 5: But Rush you are there for the entire part of it.
• 1:46
Speaker 3: So for people listening, work week is happening right now
• 1:49
Speaker 3: all over the country, and at some schools work week
• 1:51
Speaker 3: is actually two weeks. I was astounded to learn that
• 1:55
Speaker 3: at your school, is it work week?
• 1:58
Speaker 4: Is it how long? It's taking a.
• 1:59
Speaker 6: Week and half like counting weekends and like a couple
• 2:03
Speaker 6: like two days before rush as well, So it's probably
• 2:06
Speaker 6: it's around like nine days for us.
• 2:07
Speaker 3: So can you give us an overview of for you,
• 2:10
Speaker 3: what work week is? What is happening during work week?
• 2:14
Speaker 6: Yeah, we A lot of it revolves around learning bump groups.
• 2:20
Speaker 6: Bump groups change each round of Rush. It can change
• 2:23
Speaker 6: depending on how many people are in each party. I
• 2:26
Speaker 6: mean some days you're having twelve parties in just sisterhood day,
• 2:29
Speaker 6: and there's a certain amount of number of girls, and
• 2:31
Speaker 6: like you're figuring that out day of five minutes before
• 2:34
Speaker 6: you're opening those doors and having these p and ms
• 2:36
Speaker 6: come in. So a lot of it is you're matching
• 2:40
Speaker 6: girls in your bump group.
• 2:42
Speaker 3: You're literally like you don't start to interrupting, but you
• 2:44
Speaker 3: don't do the same bump group for the whole week. No,
• 2:47
Speaker 3: what is the strategy behind changing the bump group?
• 2:50
Speaker 5: We our first two days we do randoms.
• 2:53
Speaker 6: So when we have the p and ms in front
• 2:55
Speaker 6: of the door, you grab the first girl that you see,
• 2:57
Speaker 6: Like we teach everyone, like the first person you lock
• 3:00
Speaker 6: guys with, you were grabbing them and you were walking
• 3:02
  Speaker 6: with them.
• 3:03
  Speaker 4: Are you also.
• 3:03
Speaker 3: Taught that that girl is the shiniest star you've ever
• 3:06
Speaker 3: met in your life?
• 3:07
Speaker 5: Absolutely? Absolutely, you are. You better know their name.
• 3:11
Speaker 6: And you better know where they're from, their hometown, asking
• 3:15
Speaker 6: them questions because those things also then you need to
• 3:18
Speaker 6: remember it going to vote for them right after, because
• 3:20
Speaker 6: you're gonna talk to like three girls in one party,
• 3:23
Speaker 6: and if you don't remember their name, you don't remember
• 3:25
Speaker 6: like the facts about them, You're gonna go after they
• 3:27
Speaker 6: leave and have to go vote on them and be like,
• 3:29
Speaker 6: oh my god, like who was this girl? I'm trying
• 3:31
Speaker 6: to remember her. I'm trying to remember her face. It's
• 3:33
Speaker 6: like you need to like lock those things then for
• 3:35
  Speaker 6: sure as a.
• 3:36
Speaker 3: Bump group whole. Or do you vote individually and do
• 3:38
Speaker 3: you vote on an app?
• 3:40
Speaker 5: We vote on an app.
• 3:41
Speaker 6: We you go into a private room with your bump group.
• 3:44
Speaker 6: Our bump groups are normally around three girls. Max, You're
• 3:48
Speaker 6: really not supposed to talk to your people about it
• 3:51
Speaker 6: if you need to ask a question of like, hey, like,
• 3:54
Speaker 6: I'm really feeling kind of conflicted right now because like
• 3:56
Speaker 6: I liked this girl, but like I don't know like
• 3:58
Speaker 6: how well she would fit in the or like I
• 4:00
Speaker 6: don't know if she seems like she really cares or
• 4:02
Speaker 6: like values like our chapter, et cetera. So like you
• 4:04
Speaker 6: can ask for like advice, like you really should not
• 4:07
Speaker 6: like be trying to And.
• 4:09
Speaker 3: Two quick questions, can somebody that knows that girl previously
• 4:12
  Speaker 3: vote on her?
• 4:13
  Speaker 5: Yes?
• 4:14
Speaker 3: And also do you have I don't know what we
• 4:16
Speaker 3: call them, maybe roamers, Like they're not in a bump group,
• 4:18
Speaker 3: but they're roaming and they can go up and talk
• 4:21
Speaker 3: to anyone they want during a party and then go
• 4:23
Speaker 3: vote on that girl.
• 4:24
Speaker 6: No, we cannot do that. You like absolutely. The only
• 4:27
Speaker 6: time that you can do that is PREF. And what
• 4:29
Speaker 6: we do is if you know the girl as like
• 4:31
Speaker 6: you went to high school with her or you were
• 4:34
Speaker 6: I don't know, some type of like hometown person to her,
• 4:36
Speaker 6: you can go into their like the room that she's
• 4:39
Speaker 6: talking to someone in and like walk in and be
• 4:42
Speaker 6: like hi, Like we do this thing where for PREF
• 4:46
Speaker 6: we read like letters, like we read like letters from
• 4:49
Speaker 6: like your like their parents, and like we surprise them
• 4:51
Speaker 6: with them. So like sometimes like we'll have like the
• 4:54
Speaker 6: person that they know like homeship come in and be
• 4:57
Speaker 6: like hey, like I wanted to come in and like
• 4:59
Speaker 6: like read these letters to you.
• 5:00
Speaker 5: And then's supposed to do this like whole floaterer buying.
• 5:03
Speaker 3: So a floater could go during the party and talk
• 5:07
Speaker 3: to anyone they want and then go vote on the person.
• 5:10
Speaker 6: If a floater for us, you can only vote on
• 5:14
Speaker 6: them if you had a conversation with them. If you
• 5:16
Speaker 6: did not have a conversation with them, you cannot vote
• 5:18
  Speaker 6: on them.
• 5:18
Speaker 3: Interesting, all right, So for everybody again, sum up what
• 5:22
Speaker 3: is happening during work week? What is possibly being done
• 5:27
Speaker 3: twenty four hours a day for more than a week
• 5:30
  Speaker 3: to prepare.
• 5:31
Speaker 6: For Rush overall grand things, your songs, memorizing them, doing
• 5:37
Speaker 6: them with one hundred and twenty girls.
• 5:40
Speaker 4: You sing a little of one of your songs. Yeah,
• 5:42
  Speaker 4: I could let.
• 5:43
Speaker 6: Me think Kaya Pfea take it twice an Ada Ga
• 5:48
Speaker 6: Mma Kapa Kappa Gamma. Yeah, and we do that. That's
• 5:52
Speaker 6: like our day one song. And you do that for
• 5:55
Speaker 6: maybe ten minutes while all the girls are coming into
• 6:00
  Speaker 6: the house.
• 6:00
Speaker 5: And then once everyone's say.
• 6:02
Speaker 4: Open while you're singing or do you have to wait
• 6:03
  Speaker 4: till it's closed.
• 6:06
Speaker 5: Once the door closes, that's when we stop singing.
• 6:08
Speaker 4: That's like that you're now allowed to sing when they
• 6:11
  Speaker 4: come in.
• 6:11
Speaker 6: Yeah, so they'll be coming in, everyone's singing, and then
• 6:14
Speaker 6: once that door closes, that's like the queue for everyone
• 6:16
Speaker 6: to stop singing. It has to like travel down throughout
• 6:18
Speaker 6: the house for everyone to know like done.
• 6:20
Speaker 3: Okay, so we'll get I mean, obviously, welcome to season
• 6:23
Speaker 3: two of Dirty Rush. This is you know, great stuff.
• 6:26
Speaker 3: We're going to bring this all to you live from
• 6:29
Speaker 3: all over the country at Sorority Rush everywhere. But right
• 6:33
Speaker 3: now we're focusing on work week. So again, tell me
• 6:36
Speaker 3: the most probably the top five things other than a
• 6:39
Speaker 3: bump group that happened, So bump group song. Give me
• 6:42
  Speaker 3: three more things.
• 6:44
Speaker 6: The things that you need to ask them and how
• 6:47
Speaker 6: to respond to questions of like day for example, they
• 6:49
Speaker 6: prepare you of like you might have a girl that's
• 6:51
Speaker 6: going to come in and say, like I want to
• 6:54
Speaker 6: be in a sorority, to go to frat day parties
• 6:57
Speaker 6: and meet a frat guy and have him be my boyfriend,
• 6:59
  Speaker 6: which is exactly.
• 7:00
Speaker 4: What ninety nine percent of every girl wants.
• 7:02
Speaker 6: And so we'll do like practice conversations, like literally like
• 7:06
Speaker 6: our like president and vice president will walk around and
• 7:08
Speaker 6: make sure that we're like actually practicing this, and like
• 7:10
Speaker 6: we'll like literally practice I use this question.
• 7:13
Speaker 3: Say if someone says I want to be in this
• 7:15
Speaker 3: house because you party with the cutest fraternity boys.
• 7:18
Speaker 6: You have to just really divert and be like, well,
• 7:21
Speaker 6: so being in Greek life obviously, like we have a
• 7:24
Speaker 6: lot of great fraternities. They're very very You have to
• 7:27
Speaker 6: be so careful about not saying rats.
• 7:30
Speaker 5: You cannot say frat names.
• 7:32
Speaker 6: It has to be a fraternity or a sorority or
• 7:35
Speaker 6: just overall cross life.
• 7:36
  Speaker 4: Okay, we are.
• 7:38
Speaker 5: Greek life is a community.
• 7:39
Speaker 6: You're gonna get to know so many other people, and
• 7:42
Speaker 6: it's really a school inside of a school, and luckily,
• 7:45
Speaker 6: like we're able to do so many fun events with
• 7:48
Speaker 6: and it can all be real.
• 7:49
Speaker 3: So there's one, two, three, four, five, six, seven of
• 7:52
Speaker 3: us here, all in a sorority and one fraternity.
• 7:58
  Speaker 5: Do you ever.
• 7:58
Speaker 3: Feel like and again we're gonna get back to work week,
• 8:01
Speaker 3: that you're lying during rush? I mean yeah, like that
• 8:05
Speaker 3: just seems like a lie. Like if somebody actually said
• 8:09
Speaker 3: to me, Hey, I want to be in this sorority
• 8:11
Speaker 3: because you hang out with really fun boys and I
• 8:13
Speaker 3: hope one of them is gonna be my boyfriend and
• 8:15
Speaker 3: just make my college experience great.
• 8:17
Speaker 4: That is actually true.
• 8:19
Speaker 6: We have this thing, and it's like a very like
• 8:21
Speaker 6: common known thing I think amongst people who've done rush.
• 8:24
Speaker 6: Now to where the very every single day until pref
• 8:28
Speaker 6: PREF is the day to where you can like let
• 8:30
Speaker 6: loose and like you actually talk about.
• 8:32
Speaker 5: Like drinking and dating and partying.
• 8:34
Speaker 4: So we lie to you. We lied to you.
• 8:36
Speaker 6: We lie to you, like that's like the rules of
• 8:38
Speaker 6: like you don't talk about like the.
• 8:40
Speaker 3: Okay, so we're handing them my phone to M. We're
• 8:43
Speaker 3: gonna call her M who we love, hold on who
• 8:46
Speaker 3: went to a different school, and what sorority were you
• 8:48
Speaker 3: at this unnamed school?
• 8:50
Speaker 7: I was in Alpha Fie Alpha Fee.
• 8:51
Speaker 4: Okay, these are top houses these girls are in.
• 8:53
Speaker 7: Okay to you and then you get haste.
• 8:58
Speaker 4: Oh okay, well let's talk about it.
• 9:00
Speaker 3: We're gonna we're getting distracted here at our sorority retreat.
• 9:03
Speaker 4: We're on, but we're gonna go back to work week.
• 9:04
Speaker 3: But give the microphone to em for a second there,
• 9:07
Speaker 3: so EM, do you hayes because I was in a.
• 9:11
Speaker 4: Sorority and we do not hayes.
• 9:13
Speaker 3: We hayze interesting And would you say, uh, that's at
• 9:18
Speaker 3: your school, this particular unnamed school, Alpha Fee or do
• 9:21
Speaker 3: you feel that that could be the case.
• 9:25
Speaker 4: Of Alpha FI in general?
• 9:27
Speaker 7: I feel like it's definitely a mix of both.
• 9:30
Speaker 8: I feel like a lot of schools try to make
• 9:32
Speaker 8: it like an undercover thing, but they must definitely do it.
• 9:36
Speaker 8: And the girls depending who you get preffed by, and
• 9:39
Speaker 8: the girls who's like gonna be your big or like
• 9:41
Speaker 8: you connected with during work week and rush they you
• 9:45
Speaker 8: got with them, at least we did. We went out
• 9:47
Speaker 8: with them on the first night after you got your bid,
• 9:50
  Speaker 8: and they would.
• 9:51
Speaker 5: We'd go out and do whatever and.
• 9:52
  Speaker 9: Go to frash.
• 9:54
Speaker 3: Oh, okay, this is gonna be a whole other episode
• 9:56
Speaker 3: because right now we're gonna focus back on work week.
• 9:58
Speaker 3: But this sorority retre we're on is gonna bring you
• 10:01
Speaker 3: a lot of top secret information. And the reason we
• 10:04
Speaker 3: don't use real names, and the reason we don't say
• 10:06
Speaker 3: schools is because we want to be able to bring
• 10:09
Speaker 3: you the real truth. So back to work week. So
• 10:15
Speaker 3: bump groups, songs, how to answer really lie? How lie
• 10:20
Speaker 3: when someone asked you a question?
• 10:21
Speaker 4: Got it? And what are two more things that happened
• 10:23
  Speaker 4: during work week?
• 10:25
Speaker 5: Your social videos? Okay, with all the other houses too.
• 10:29
  Speaker 4: From my era?
• 10:30
Speaker 3: Also, I can unequivocally say there was no hazing at
• 10:34
Speaker 3: all zero in my era. But we'll go that'll be
• 10:37
Speaker 3: a different episode. So these social videos, So what is
• 10:43
Speaker 3: the point of them? What do you feel as the
• 10:46
  Speaker 3: point of these?
• 10:47
Speaker 6: I think the main point is honestly for the p
• 10:49
Speaker 6: and ms to see the like overall the vibes of
• 10:52
Speaker 6: the houses, but then also be able to tell like
• 10:55
Speaker 6: this looks like it would be the top house, Like
• 10:57
Speaker 6: this looks stizing advertising is like the this is like
• 11:01
Speaker 6: all the really pretty girls with really cute style and
• 11:04
Speaker 6: like they look fun and like energetic and like they
• 11:07
Speaker 6: like I think it's like a way for you to
• 11:10
Speaker 6: like be able to try to compete with all the
• 11:11
Speaker 6: other houses of like we're the coolest house, Like we're
• 11:14
Speaker 6: the best house, and like so the p and ms
• 11:16
Speaker 6: know when they're going in, like we want them to
• 11:17
Speaker 6: be like out in front of our door being like
• 11:19
Speaker 6: oh my god, I'm at Kappa right now, like like nervous,
• 11:22
Speaker 6: but like a good nervous, like I want this house.
• 11:25
Speaker 3: It is the social media that does that or reputation
• 11:28
  Speaker 3: through the years.
• 11:29
Speaker 6: I think mainly social media, because unless they know someone
• 11:33
Speaker 6: that goes to that school, they're not really gonna have
• 11:35
Speaker 6: a full answer as to like what the top houses
• 11:38
Speaker 6: are at least I know, like when I was coming
• 11:41
Speaker 6: into my school, like I was able to solidly like
• 11:43
Speaker 6: look at each school's Instagram and kind of be like
• 11:46
Speaker 6: I see this vibe, like I see this house, like
• 11:48
Speaker 6: I see that house, and like you can kind of
• 11:50
Speaker 6: see like where you would want to probably fit in
• 11:53
  Speaker 6: and yeah, So.
• 11:55
Speaker 3: How much time is put into all that hoopla that
• 11:59
Speaker 3: is happening in those videos which I also just realized
• 12:02
Speaker 3: it's really only the front girls actually doing the dances.
• 12:04
  Speaker 3: I didn't realize that until I really zoomed in. I
• 12:06
Speaker 3: thought the whole house was doing these dances, and then
• 12:09
Speaker 3: I realized, like the majority of the girls are just
• 12:11
Speaker 3: doing waving in the background, and then this handful of
• 12:14
Speaker 3: like eight ten girls is actually performing.
• 12:17
Speaker 4: How much time do those things take?
• 12:20
Speaker 6: It takes a few tries, Like it definitely like you're
• 12:22
Speaker 6: out there for probably like an hour, like in the sun,
• 12:25
Speaker 6: like in your guys's costumes, and when doing these dances,
• 12:28
  Speaker 6: cracking those things.
• 12:30
  Speaker 4: I'm coming over.
• 12:31
Speaker 3: We got people we at this retreat we're at. There's
• 12:34
Speaker 3: a lot of sority girls and they are ready to
• 12:36
  Speaker 3: raise their hands.
• 12:36
Speaker 4: We're coming in to you.
• 12:37
Speaker 6: But a lot of them for us, we choose all
• 12:40
Speaker 6: the girls who are on the dance team have been
• 12:43
Speaker 6: on the dance team, and like our social media chair,
• 12:46
Speaker 6: like she will have the tiktoks that we're gonna do
• 12:48
Speaker 6: the night before, She'll send them to the girls who
• 12:51
Speaker 6: are like our dance girls, Hey, learn this choreo tonight
• 12:54
Speaker 6: and like Uriah, yeah, all the linga, this is how
• 12:57
Speaker 6: it's gonna be, and have it ready to go by them.
• 12:59
Speaker 3: All that would be the social media chair as opposed
• 13:02
Speaker 3: to the rush chair. Does the rush chair have any
• 13:05
Speaker 3: say approval over it?
• 13:06
Speaker 6: Honestly no, I think they're so word with so much
• 13:08
Speaker 6: other stuff that they're like I don't care about, like
• 13:10
Speaker 6: the social media crop.
• 13:11
Speaker 4: And is rush chair what do you guys call that?
• 13:14
Speaker 4: We call it rush chair? Okay?
• 13:16
Speaker 5: Is that recruitment chair?
• 13:18
Speaker 3: Recruitment chair? Is that a coveted office? What did you
• 13:21
Speaker 3: do you guys we called office? What do you guys
• 13:23
Speaker 3: call it leaders leadership?
• 13:25
Speaker 5: We call it leadership?
• 13:26
Speaker 3: Is that something that is a coveted position? Or is
• 13:30
Speaker 3: that known as like that job as hell?
• 13:32
Speaker 5: It's kind of known as like that job as hell?
• 13:34
Speaker 6: And like you are gonna it's like you're committing your
• 13:37
Speaker 6: whole summer to it, pretty much like you're once you're
• 13:40
Speaker 6: done after mid day, like your job is pretty much done,
• 13:42
Speaker 6: but like your summer is literally dedicated to planning.
• 13:45
Speaker 4: So does the rush chair prepare that plan the outfits?
• 13:49
Speaker 6: They plan the outfits, they plan the hours like they're
• 13:52
Speaker 6: the ones to like do the timing for everything.
• 13:54
Speaker 4: Yeah, And is that are these outfits?
• 13:56
Speaker 3: So do you get like a note during summer like
• 13:58
Speaker 3: please bring one black, this one white, this one pink this.
• 14:03
Speaker 6: Yeah, it's it's very like your first two days, everyone's
• 14:05
Speaker 6: handed shirts. Then we have to do floral, and then
• 14:08
Speaker 6: the next floral we do floral dresses.
• 14:11
  Speaker 5: Everyone.
• 14:11
Speaker 6: Everyone has to wear a certain type of floral dress.
• 14:13
Speaker 6: The next day we have to wear a specific blue
• 14:16
Speaker 6: shade dress for philanthropy.
• 14:18
Speaker 3: Okay, quick question, now, is it like if you don't
• 14:21
Speaker 3: have love shack fancy poo poo on you, or is
• 14:24
Speaker 3: it like hey, got this at home goods.
• 14:25
Speaker 4: I mean not home goods, sorry, TJ Max, I'm good.
• 14:28
Speaker 6: It's more so just like don't be wearing a kind
• 14:31
Speaker 6: of more like skimpy dress, like okay, look like like
• 14:35
Speaker 6: they're more so like we want to look classy.
• 14:37
Speaker 4: Like we're not here to like find you.
• 14:38
Speaker 6: Yeah, like yes, like we want to look like we're
• 14:41
Speaker 6: speaking ell again, got it?
• 14:43
Speaker 4: Got it? Got it? Great?
• 14:44
Speaker 3: So nobody's too brand name me labely conscious. It's just
• 14:49
Speaker 3: like fit the theme.
• 14:50
Speaker 6: It's fit the theme and like look like you know,
• 14:54
Speaker 6: you could go to like lunch with your grandma on
• 14:57
Speaker 6: this dress. Like we don't want to be looking like
• 14:59
Speaker 6: we're gonna go out to the.
• 15:00
Speaker 3: It's the in your opinion sort of thought process behind
• 15:04
Speaker 3: that that it's just classier for the rushies.
• 15:09
Speaker 6: I think, like at least with my house, like we've
• 15:12
Speaker 6: definitely there's definitely stereotypes and like negative things that go
• 15:16
Speaker 6: around top houses when you go through recruitment of like
• 15:21
Speaker 6: they like our house is very much like they only
• 15:23
Speaker 6: take in blondes or like all their girls are just
• 15:26
Speaker 6: like dumb and like partiers or whatever. So it's like
• 15:28
Speaker 6: you more so like want to like go into rush
• 15:30
Speaker 6: of Like no, like we have our shit together, like
• 15:34
Speaker 6: I promise, like we're not like a mess or anything
• 15:37
Speaker 6: like that. So it's more just to like keep a
• 15:39
Speaker 6: good reputation going because like if you're a top house
• 15:42
Speaker 6: like on like your yik yak and whatever, like you're
• 15:44
Speaker 6: gonna get like slander and hate for a lot of things.
• 15:46
Speaker 3: Oh wow, okay, so I yik yak I've heard of
• 15:50
Speaker 3: that was not around in my day. Let's pass the
• 15:52
Speaker 3: microphone to M. Now, M, you went to.
• 15:55
  Speaker 4: A school.
• 15:57
Speaker 3: Maybe, I'll say on the West coast. You're not a
• 16:00
Speaker 3: Southern school, You're not a Texas school. So what does
• 16:07
Speaker 3: work week mean to you? And how long was work week?
• 16:12
Speaker 7: Work week was kind of like a dedicated week.
• 16:15
Speaker 8: It was a week for us just one week, and
• 16:18
Speaker 8: it was dedicated for us where we could not go out,
• 16:20
  Speaker 8: could not drink.
• 16:21
Speaker 7: It was like super locked in.
• 16:23
Speaker 3: So does that mean like you have every meal in
• 16:25
Speaker 3: the house, like can you walk down to yogurt park
• 16:28
  Speaker 3: or so for.
• 16:29
Speaker 8: Us we could only eat in on Mondays on Monday
• 16:32
Speaker 8: night dinner after a chapter house. Yes, so you're allowed
• 16:35
Speaker 8: to leave the house. And I didn't ever live in
• 16:37
  Speaker 8: the Chopter house.
• 16:38
  Speaker 9: So during week.
• 16:39
Speaker 8: Work week, and our houses are so small they couldn't
• 16:41
Speaker 8: even house all of us.
• 16:42
Speaker 3: So is are you going over to the sorority to practice?
• 16:46
Speaker 3: Is it similar to what Catherine was talking about at
• 16:49
Speaker 3: all with all all her priorities.
• 16:52
Speaker 7: No kind of yes and no, oh wait, give them
• 16:58
  Speaker 7: mic back.
• 16:58
Speaker 6: Work week is like your week to go out and
• 17:01
Speaker 6: like party. It's like, oh that's not dry. Rush is dry.
• 17:05
Speaker 6: But so like since rush is dry, they're very much like,
• 17:08
Speaker 6: so this is your time to go out and have fun.
• 17:10
Speaker 3: When when work day is done, then it's at nine
• 17:14
Speaker 3: o'clock or whatever it is, then it's on and you're
• 17:16
Speaker 3: heading down the hill.
• 17:17
Speaker 6: Literally, girls are like looking at it like to the
• 17:19
Speaker 6: hour of like once twelve o'clock hits, like you're dry
• 17:22
Speaker 6: and then the moment after mid day immediately go out.
• 17:26
Speaker 3: Okay, now back to you, M what would happen if
• 17:28
Speaker 3: somebody did not show up for work week.
• 17:32
Speaker 8: I did not show up for work week and I
• 17:34
Speaker 8: did not get punished.
• 17:35
Speaker 4: Really yeah, and why did you not show up?
• 17:39
Speaker 8: I just knew how horrible it was my big how
• 17:42
Speaker 8: horrible was but my first year, I was actually out
• 17:44
Speaker 8: of town did not go to work week, and then
• 17:46
Speaker 8: after that I was like, Okay, I heard all this
• 17:48
Speaker 8: horrible things after my bid group like went and my
• 17:52
Speaker 8: piano like year went, and they're like, it's so horrible
• 17:54
Speaker 8: to not go. So I was on vacation actually the
• 17:56
  Speaker 8: last week.
• 17:57
Speaker 3: Question not sorry to do so when they describe it
• 17:59
Speaker 3: as horrible, why why do you think work week has
• 18:03
Speaker 3: this reputation of being horrible.
• 18:06
Speaker 8: It's kind of just like a dedicated week where you
• 18:08
Speaker 8: put in like so much effort and so much time
• 18:12
Speaker 8: for p and ms. Yes, and like the outcome as
• 18:14
Speaker 8: you can find like a great little but at the
• 18:16
Speaker 8: same time it's like cool, like we're just dying to
• 18:19
  Speaker 8: go out.
• 18:22
Speaker 4: WHOA, Okay, I didn't follow any of that. I'm not
• 18:24
Speaker 4: gonna lie. I just totally did not follow that give
• 18:26
Speaker 4: it to me again. So is it the work of
• 18:30
  Speaker 4: work week?
• 18:31
Speaker 8: Or yeah, see the dresses you have to buy, the
• 18:35
Speaker 8: punishments that you get if you don't show up.
• 18:37
Speaker 4: If you can't go back, get a punishment.
• 18:40
Speaker 8: Well like once you're in it, Like I mean, all right,
• 18:43
Speaker 8: and it's just like a lot of work, Like people
• 18:45
Speaker 8: dread having to buy the dresses, going standing in the sun,
• 18:49
Speaker 8: learning the dances, posting on social media, having alpha fy.
• 18:53
Speaker 7: In your bio, not talking to the p and ms
• 18:56
  Speaker 7: like it was.
• 18:56
Speaker 4: Just I have to laugh because honestly, it doesn't sound
• 18:59
Speaker 4: hard at all. It really doesn't. So all you.
• 19:02
Speaker 3: Delicate flowers out there when you actually have to go
• 19:05
Speaker 3: to work are gonna be.
• 19:07
Speaker 6: In nice hour days of like not our days longer
• 19:12
Speaker 6: and longer like guys the real world days sometimes.
• 19:16
Speaker 3: But give it back to m m uh. Did you
• 19:19
Speaker 3: participate in rush? And I guess my question is if
• 19:23
Speaker 3: you don't participate in work week, are you like totally
• 19:28
Speaker 3: not aware of how to do rush?
• 19:31
Speaker 4: Are you screwed? Essentially? If you don't do work week
• 19:34
Speaker 4: and then you show up for Rush.
• 19:35
Speaker 7: I didn't show up for Rush either, I just like
• 19:37
Speaker 7: didn't do the whole thing.
• 19:38
  Speaker 9: I never had a little.
• 19:40
Speaker 4: You seem like not a great sorority member.
• 19:42
  Speaker 9: Yeah, I wasn't.
• 19:42
Speaker 4: I think we're gonna take the mic from m and
• 19:45
  Speaker 4: pass that along.
• 19:46
Speaker 3: Actually, before we go to the girls, let's go to
• 19:49
Speaker 3: our one fraternity boy. Man who's here, he's a man boy.
• 19:55
Speaker 3: Hello Michael, nice to see you. So, Michael, we will
• 19:59
Speaker 3: not name your school, but what is your fraternity?
• 20:01
Speaker 7: I'm in Sigma Kay.
• 20:03
Speaker 3: Great so well known fraternity across the country. Hearing the
• 20:07
Speaker 3: girls here, women ladies talk about work week? Is there
• 20:12
Speaker 3: anything that a fraternity does similar to this at all?
• 20:18
Speaker 2: I think the biggest thing is just meeting the guys.
• 20:22
Speaker 2: So the rush chair has kind of go through the
• 20:25
Speaker 2: same thing, making a list of all the new guys Instagrams,
• 20:29
Speaker 2: social medias and trying to meet them. I know people
• 20:31
Speaker 2: do some our meetups in certain towns, like there was
• 20:34
Speaker 2: a Chicago one I knew some kids at. There was
• 20:37
Speaker 2: a lot of people from Seattle at my school that
• 20:39
Speaker 2: all met up before.
• 20:41
Speaker 3: It does seem like there's way less rules, way less
• 20:44
Speaker 3: restrictions total, and you kind of meet each other in
• 20:47
Speaker 3: the summer and have an idea of the guys you
• 20:49
Speaker 3: want to have probably become pledges, yeah, and are you okay?
• 20:55
Speaker 4: So for guys, there is there a work week at all.
• 20:58
Speaker 3: No, So they're literally like rush starts this day, see
• 21:02
Speaker 3: you the night before.
• 21:03
Speaker 2: Actually, technically we do have a work week, it's mainly
• 21:06
Speaker 2: it's like rush week.
• 21:08
Speaker 4: Oh, it would be the same pil.
• 21:11
Speaker 2: Like I think the last two nights were up to
• 21:12
Speaker 2: like four am talking about the guys okay, deciding who
• 21:15
Speaker 2: you want to get, going through all them voting, But
• 21:19
Speaker 2: the first two nights are kind of just getting down
• 21:21
Speaker 2: getting some stories. I know it's different for every frattorney,
• 21:23
Speaker 2: but we had to get like seven stories for like
• 21:27
Speaker 2: each one's like ones and if their social ones like
• 21:32
Speaker 2: man of good character, man like it's stuff like that.
• 21:35
Speaker 4: You have to get some similarity, you have to get.
• 21:38
Speaker 4: Most attorneys are not like that, are not like that.
• 21:41
Speaker 2: We have to ask questions during rush week about filling
• 21:49
Speaker 2: these I guess like I don't know, yeah, yeah exactly,
• 21:55
Speaker 2: but I wouldn't you say over there, yes, But it's
• 22:03
Speaker 2: not really a work week.
• 22:04
Speaker 3: So I would think again, the work week for the
• 22:07
Speaker 3: boys men would be cleaning the house. Is that part
• 22:11
Speaker 3: of it? Like trying to make the house look a
• 22:14
  Speaker 3: little less yucky?
• 22:16
Speaker 2: No, they don't care about don't care. I mean it
• 22:19
Speaker 2: looks clean it before a party.
• 22:21
Speaker 4: Oh but not before rush?
• 22:22
  Speaker 7: But before rush?
• 22:24
Speaker 2: I mean no, now is.
• 22:27
Speaker 4: There can you show Okay?
• 22:29
Speaker 3: So if you are a guy going through rush, can
• 22:33
Speaker 3: you just show up at a house or no? Do
• 22:35
Speaker 3: you have to be invited to come in? Is there
• 22:38
Speaker 3: any like open day? Like any dude can come in?
• 22:40
Speaker 4: There are open days? I know it's different.
• 22:42
Speaker 2: I've been I've done Rush at two different schools transferred,
• 22:46
Speaker 2: but there's usually one or two days that are open
• 22:50
Speaker 2: and like the next day will be like.
• 22:52
Speaker 4: A to have a text or something.
• 22:54
Speaker 2: But oh wow, Yeah, it's interesting.
• 22:58
Speaker 3: That panelmic is so strict with women and just lets
• 23:00
Speaker 3: these men go hogwild. Really kind of uh, I don't
• 23:04
Speaker 3: know what to say about that. Maybe we'll dig into
• 23:06
Speaker 3: that as season two of Dirty Rush goes on, because
• 23:10
Speaker 3: that really Panelmic is very strict with these rush rules
• 23:14
Speaker 3: for women, and yet it does seem like guys and
• 23:17
Speaker 3: I guess it's you know, over the you know, years
• 23:22
Speaker 3: and years and years. That's the way it goes Like,
• 23:26
Speaker 3: is there any there doesn't seem to be the same rules,
• 23:28
  Speaker 3: like can you.
• 23:29
Speaker 4: Guys go out during Rush week?
• 23:31
  Speaker 7: Totally.
• 23:32
  Speaker 4: And can you.
• 23:32
Speaker 3: Talk to a dude and say, hey, we're probably gonna
• 23:34
Speaker 3: give you a bid. There any rules about.
• 23:36
Speaker 2: That where you have to be Attorney's different in the
• 23:39
Speaker 2: promising bid things. We don't promise that at all. Okay,
• 23:41
Speaker 2: there's a lot of frattorneys that will promise you a
• 23:43
Speaker 2: bid and it gets a kid all excited because he's
• 23:45
Speaker 2: like a freshman in college.
• 23:47
Speaker 4: He gets super stoked.
• 23:48
Speaker 9: But we don't promise that.
• 23:50
Speaker 4: Interesting, all right, thank you for contributing, Michael, great work.
• 24:08
Speaker 3: We're gonna now go to zoom where we have a
• 24:11
Speaker 3: top secret person joining who wasn't even able to come
• 24:14
Speaker 3: to this retreat we're on. We're we gathered this group
• 24:18
Speaker 3: together and we're in a secret location so that we
• 24:20
Speaker 3: can really find out, like really really, what is happening
• 24:24
Speaker 3: at work weeks all over the country. This is an
• 24:27
Speaker 3: interesting sorority member who has to participate in work week.
• 24:32
Speaker 3: But then we'll become what the older generation would call
• 24:35
Speaker 3: a roki. I think people call it a rogue, gam
• 24:38
Speaker 3: a rush counselor et cetera. So let's talk to our secret,
• 24:44
Speaker 3: secret secret person right now to get some information on
• 24:47
Speaker 3: what happens when you are a Rush counselor hello, secret
• 24:54
Speaker 3: person who is We are not going to give a
• 24:57
Speaker 3: name or a location for you, but we have some
• 24:59
Speaker 3: quest es. So, uh, we know that you will be
• 25:03
Speaker 3: not participating in sorority Rush because you will be a
• 25:06
Speaker 3: roki rush counselor what do they call it at your school?
• 25:10
Speaker 10: My school, we call it a recruitment counselor or an
• 25:13
  Speaker 10: RC for sure.
• 25:15
Speaker 3: Okay, great, So do you have to participate in work
• 25:19
Speaker 3: week even though you are not able to participate in
• 25:22
Speaker 3: Rush because you disaffiliate?
• 25:25
Speaker 4: Is that the right word?
• 25:26
  Speaker 6: Yeah?
• 25:27
Speaker 10: I become a disaffiliated member. So that pretty much means
• 25:30
Speaker 10: I have to remove myself with all affiliation for my sorority.
• 25:35
Speaker 10: I delete everything for my Instagram, I take it off
• 25:39
Speaker 10: my LinkedIn. My chapter deletes me from their Instagram, and
• 25:45
Speaker 10: I become pretty much like an anonymous member.
• 25:48
Speaker 4: What is the reason for that?
• 25:49
  Speaker 1: Is that?
• 25:50
Speaker 3: Why does it have to be so top secret for
• 25:54
Speaker 3: the roki because they really don't want these new rushies
• 25:58
Speaker 3: as we would call them PA and.
• 26:00
Speaker 10: M cnm's yeah, potential new member.
• 26:04
Speaker 3: Why do they want so much for them to not
• 26:07
Speaker 3: know the house that the Roqui is a part of.
• 26:10
Speaker 10: You're RC, like the only contact you really have throughout
• 26:15
Speaker 10: rush week, and oftentimes p and MS become very close
• 26:19
Speaker 10: with rcs, and we would never want PNM to choose
• 26:23
Speaker 10: a chapter solely based on if there r C is
• 26:26
Speaker 10: in it or not. We want P and MS to
• 26:29
Speaker 10: focus on what happens during rounds when they talk to houses,
• 26:34
Speaker 10: not what happens outside of rounds. So by eliminating the
• 26:37
Speaker 10: bias of the chapter of the RC, we help P
• 26:41
Speaker 10: and MS make a values based recruitment decision instead of
• 26:46
Speaker 10: choosing chapter based on more typical stereotypes.
• 26:51
Speaker 3: Now, what made you want to become RC as opposed
• 26:55
Speaker 3: to participating in rush with your sorority.
• 26:58
Speaker 10: When I went through primary recruitment as a P and M,
• 27:02
Speaker 10: I was very close with my RC and she helped
• 27:05
Speaker 10: me a lot during recruitment, and I thought it would
• 27:08
Speaker 10: be interesting to not only see what the other side
• 27:10
Speaker 10: of recruitment was like, but also help other girls who
• 27:15
Speaker 10: are going through something similar and help them choose a
• 27:19
Speaker 10: chapter where they see themselves being most successful.
• 27:22
Speaker 3: So I guess my question is how, how and why
• 27:26
Speaker 3: do you participate in work week when you then have
• 27:29
Speaker 3: to disaffiliate. What will you do during work week with
• 27:33
Speaker 3: your chapter and is there a reason they want, you know,
• 27:37
Speaker 3: roquis rcs to stay and still participate in work week.
• 27:42
Speaker 10: There are so many things that we need to learn
• 27:44
Speaker 10: as rcs, and like special ways we talk about things.
• 27:49
Speaker 10: Certain chapters at my campus are unhoused. One could say,
• 27:55
Speaker 10: but technically we're supposed to use the term flexible housing.
• 28:00
Speaker 4: What does that mean in real terms? What does that mean?
• 28:03
Speaker 10: In real terms? It means one sorority at our school
• 28:07
Speaker 10: lost their house because they couldn't have enough members joining
• 28:10
Speaker 10: the sorority. So during recruitment, they're the only chapter who
• 28:14
Speaker 10: recruits from a recruitment facility instead of their chapter house.
• 28:19
Speaker 10: So we have to speak very loosely when we talk
• 28:23
Speaker 10: about chapter houses as to.
• 28:24
  Speaker 4: Not hurt ex.
• 28:28
Speaker 10: Yes, as to not exclude anyone from the primary recruitment process.
• 28:33
  Speaker 5: There's also.
• 28:35
Speaker 10: Primary recruitment can be really hard for p and ms,
• 28:38
Speaker 10: so finding ways to help them and like we have
• 28:41
Speaker 10: a lot of training on John Gille conversations.
• 28:46
Speaker 3: My apologies for interrupting during work week? Do you get
• 28:49
Speaker 3: trained how to be a rokui as opposed to do
• 28:52
Speaker 3: a bump group or learn the songs or all the
• 28:53
Speaker 3: things that other people are doing during Russia are you
• 28:57
Speaker 3: getting your training to be an RC?
• 28:59
  Speaker 2: Yes.
• 29:00
Speaker 10: Instead of spending my day doing a bump group or
• 29:03
Speaker 10: talking to members, I'm like sitting in presentations and learning
• 29:07
Speaker 10: about what it means to be an RC and kind
• 29:09
Speaker 10: of what my responsibilities might be.
• 29:11
Speaker 4: Do you have to get picked to be an RC?
• 29:13
Speaker 4: Do you volunteer? How does that work to be a
• 29:15
Speaker 4: ROCI at my school?
• 29:16
Speaker 10: Least, it's a pretty extensive application process. A lot of
• 29:21
Speaker 10: people want to be an RC just because they are
• 29:25
Speaker 10: tired of recruiting, and it's kind of easier some people think.
• 29:31
Speaker 10: But we have to apply, submit essays, and then we
• 29:37
Speaker 10: are called in for an interview, and after your interview
• 29:40
Speaker 10: you hear back via email. But each chapter does have
• 29:43
Speaker 10: to have five people apply to the positions, so they
• 29:48
Speaker 10: want the number of our ces to be balanced throughout
• 29:51
  Speaker 10: the chapters.
• 29:51
  Speaker 4: Got it?
• 29:52
Speaker 3: Got it so that not one house has all the
• 29:54
Speaker 3: roquies exactly, don't have representation exactly.
• 29:58
Speaker 4: It's almost like a therapist these the rush.
• 30:02
Speaker 10: Yes. Yeah, we've had some crazy stories from recruitment, as
• 30:07
Speaker 10: in our sea my friend had a P and M
• 30:08
Speaker 10: who like locked themselves in the bathroom and refused to
• 30:12
Speaker 10: leave until they got the house back that they wanted,
• 30:16
Speaker 10: and obviously there's nothing that anybody can do after a
• 30:19
Speaker 10: round has been decided.
• 30:20
Speaker 4: So oh wow, it's story dramatic.
• 30:23
Speaker 3: That's the word I was going to use as well. Well,
• 30:25
Speaker 3: thank you so much. I appreciate it. Welcome back to
• 30:42
Speaker 3: Dirty Rush. So basically what is happening is we are
• 30:44
Speaker 3: doing our own version of a work week where we
• 30:47
Speaker 3: gathered many sorority members in one fraternity member.
• 30:53
Speaker 4: Somehow we got like we had one guy here.
• 30:55
Speaker 3: But to really be able to bring you everything that's
• 31:00
Speaker 3: happening at Rush around the country work week, we have
• 31:04
Speaker 3: people live at Rush throughout the country to really peel
• 31:09
Speaker 3: back the curtain and let you guys know what really
• 31:11
Speaker 3: goes on behind these Greek lettered closed doors. So Lee,
• 31:17
Speaker 3: first of all, does work week seem a little bit crazy?
• 31:21
  Speaker 6: Like?
• 31:22
Speaker 4: Is it a little bit? How do I ask? This?
• 31:27
Speaker 3: A lot of work for something that maybe could be easier.
• 31:33
Speaker 1: I would say, so, I feel like it's kind of
• 31:38
Speaker 1: especially nowadays with social media, I would say it's extra.
• 31:42
Speaker 3: Yeah, Like it seems like we're putting in maybe twice
• 31:45
Speaker 3: as much time to some of these things as maybe
• 31:48
  Speaker 3: as necessary.
• 31:49
Speaker 4: But I get it.
• 31:50
Speaker 3: I remember doing it So at your school, which we
• 31:53
Speaker 3: won't name, your sorty with theta, what does work week
• 31:58
  Speaker 3: mean to you?
• 31:59
  Speaker 4: From your school?
• 32:01
  Speaker 5: Work week?
• 32:04
Speaker 1: It's hard to encapsulate it into word one word. It's
• 32:07
Speaker 1: just intense and kind of to your point for no reason,
• 32:11
Speaker 1: Like it's a really big everybody's just so intense about.
• 32:15
Speaker 4: I was getting fights and screaming matches and drama.
• 32:18
Speaker 9: Yeah, there's a lot of drama.
• 32:20
Speaker 1: Emotions are high, people are overtired, people feel like they're overwork.
• 32:24
Speaker 4: Yeah, and dancing is hard.
• 32:27
Speaker 9: I mean it's so hard out in the Texas Sea.
• 32:30
Speaker 3: But also is it fun at all? I have many
• 32:34
Speaker 3: memories of its sort of being fun. Would anyone call
• 32:36
  Speaker 3: it fun?
• 32:37
Speaker 1: I think so, Yeah, I think some people would. It's
• 32:40
Speaker 1: just not everybody's cup of tea. But it kind of
• 32:43
Speaker 1: just comes with the gig. So some people love it,
• 32:45
Speaker 1: some people hate it. But what's interesting, at least about
• 32:49
Speaker 1: where I went to school is how kind of, like
• 32:54
Speaker 1: I was saying, intense, it's gone and we're like, now
• 32:56
Speaker 1: you need to submit your outfits weeks before and they can.
• 33:00
Speaker 4: Do that with a photo.
• 33:02
Speaker 3: Yeah, so you need to have it all map sounds
• 33:05
Speaker 3: different than Catherine's school, so you commit a photo, and again,
• 33:09
Speaker 3: is a brand name label more is a brand name label.
• 33:17
Speaker 4: Easier to get approved.
• 33:18
Speaker 3: Than TJ Max or you know, Problem Macs Amazon.
• 33:24
Speaker 9: But it kind of depends.
• 33:25
Speaker 1: Because work week itself, there's two things you need to
• 33:28
Speaker 1: get approved, and it's your work week outfits and.
• 33:30
Speaker 9: It's Rush week outfits.
• 33:32
Speaker 4: A prison every day is themed of work week? Yes,
• 33:37
Speaker 4: why because of social media?
• 33:38
Speaker 1: Yeah, because of social media and they use it to
• 33:40
Speaker 1: market the whole thing.
• 33:41
Speaker 4: And so if it's would you say you have to
• 33:43
Speaker 4: have for all of this all.
• 33:45
Speaker 1: In Well, there's five weekdays of work week, which are
• 33:48
Speaker 1: like the five days you're posting about it and doing
• 33:50
Speaker 1: social along with preparing for Rush. So those five outfits
• 33:53
Speaker 1: need to match the theme and you need to submit
• 33:55
Speaker 1: them and get them approved.
• 33:56
Speaker 3: And then for Rush person has to go through all
• 34:00
Speaker 3: these photos approving the Rush chair terrible, like they don't
• 34:04
  Speaker 3: already have.
• 34:04
Speaker 4: Enough things on there.
• 34:05
Speaker 1: Okay, all right, but yeah, then for Rush Week, I mean,
• 34:08
Speaker 1: you get two T shirts for the first two rounds
• 34:10
Speaker 1: because it's two days of I don't even remember what
• 34:13
Speaker 1: it's called the first round, but everybody coming through and
• 34:16
Speaker 1: you just wear a T shirt that says cap alphatata
• 34:18
Speaker 1: on it, and then after that you need to wear
• 34:21
Speaker 1: dresses and those need to get a purch.
• 34:22
Speaker 4: You have a floral day like Catherine over there.
• 34:25
Speaker 9: I don't think we had a floral day. All of
• 34:26
Speaker 9: ours were colored like we did because those are our colors,
• 34:32
  Speaker 9: as colors.
• 34:32
Speaker 4: Are black and gold.
• 34:33
Speaker 9: And then there was one other day that was like runch.
• 34:36
Speaker 3: You could wear and were you allowed to drink during
• 34:38
Speaker 3: work week? No, you have to be completely dry, and
• 34:40
Speaker 3: I feel like to leave the house, you're allowed to.
• 34:43
Speaker 3: But you what's interesting is you have to wear a pin.
• 34:45
Speaker 3: So every sorority like you have this big pin that
• 34:49
Speaker 3: you have to have.
• 34:50
Speaker 9: On your shirt. So you'll see the girls who are p.
• 34:53
Speaker 1: And ms at the gym and you're wearing this pin
• 34:57
Speaker 1: so they know they can't talk to.
• 34:59
Speaker 3: You, or you'll all right moving in around. So that
• 35:02
Speaker 3: the town just says like I'm in a sorority. It
• 35:04
Speaker 3: doesn't say it says your sorority. So what if some
• 35:08
Speaker 3: rushie is there early and then they start figuring out
• 35:11
Speaker 3: who's in what house.
• 35:12
Speaker 1: It doesn't matter because they'll they'll okay, yeah, correct. And
• 35:16
Speaker 1: then if you're a rogramma, you get I think you
• 35:20
Speaker 1: get like a rogamma pin, so.
• 35:22
Speaker 3: They know that you're okay. So you go to the gym,
• 35:24
Speaker 3: and who's not allowed to talk to you? Anyone going
• 35:27
  Speaker 3: through rush?
• 35:28
Speaker 9: Anyone going through rush?
• 35:29
Speaker 4: Now can you talk to other sororities if you want to?
• 35:32
Speaker 1: You can, but you shouldn't, like technically you shouldn't, but
• 35:35
Speaker 1: some kind of a tie fire or dj oh, girls
• 35:38
Speaker 1: and other sororities. You mean, yeah, you can talk to
• 35:40
Speaker 1: girls and other sorties. I thought you meant the p
• 35:42
Speaker 1: and ms you shouldn't talk to the p and ms.
• 35:44
Speaker 1: But some girls kind of instigate and they test the
• 35:46
Speaker 1: waters and see how others.
• 35:47
Speaker 4: And would that be classified as dirty rush? Or okay?
• 35:52
Speaker 3: Now what if, like you have a friend from hometown
• 35:55
Speaker 3: going through rush, and are they technically not supposed to
• 35:57
  Speaker 3: talk to you?
• 35:58
Speaker 1: Technically not, but you can give a hug and be like, hey,
• 36:00
Speaker 1: how are you welcome?
• 36:01
  Speaker 9: We're so excited that you're made it to X y
• 36:04
  Speaker 9: Z school.
• 36:04
Speaker 1: Okay, got it, But it just shouldn't be any conversation
• 36:07
  Speaker 1: shrouding rush.
• 36:08
Speaker 9: So it looks suspended.
• 36:09
Speaker 3: Do you feel also that during work week your coach
• 36:12
Speaker 3: to give the proper answer as opposed to maybe what's
• 36:17
Speaker 3: the most truthful answer. I'd say in analyzing all this,
• 36:23
Speaker 3: the one flag I have is like, why we're all
• 36:26
Speaker 3: putting on airs is what I would call it, as
• 36:29
Speaker 3: opposed to just being like, here's what college is really like.
• 36:33
Speaker 4: Enjoy I know, do you know what I'm saying, because.
• 36:35
Speaker 3: I know two days later after Rush you're just suddenly
• 36:38
Speaker 3: real I'm like, that's probably maybe something we.
• 36:41
Speaker 4: Should dig into this season on Yeah, Rush.
• 36:44
Speaker 3: So would you say work week is valuable in some regards?
• 36:51
Speaker 1: Yes, because I mean you would be amazed at the
• 36:54
Speaker 1: way that college girls can pull together an event like
• 36:57
Speaker 1: this and have it so organized. It It honestly is
• 37:01
Speaker 1: very very impressive what gets pulled off and work week
• 37:06
Speaker 1: and it's it's like a little business and you're marketing yourself,
• 37:09
Speaker 1: you're doing the social media whatever.
• 37:10
Speaker 4: But I like what I would consider a semi Broadway production.
• 37:14
Speaker 4: I guess I would want to it the same thing.
• 37:16
Speaker 1: Yeah, it's pretty intense, and it really does amaze me
• 37:21
Speaker 1: how many things actually do get done.
• 37:23
Speaker 3: I guess the question I have is do twenty percent
• 37:25
Speaker 3: of the girls do ninety percent of the work? I
• 37:28
Speaker 3: would say so, And would you say that that's the
• 37:30
Speaker 3: case for your schools we're not even gonna ask m
• 37:33
Speaker 3: because she didn't even participate.
• 37:35
Speaker 4: So the answer is yes, Catherine.
• 37:37
Speaker 3: Would you say a small number of girls are doing
• 37:42
Speaker 3: way more than their share of work during work week?
• 37:45
Speaker 5: Hundred percent? I think it depends.
• 37:47
Speaker 6: So for us, we put the younger girls because those
• 37:50
Speaker 6: are the girls who are going to be getting littles.
• 37:52
Speaker 5: We have them do majority of the work.
• 37:54
Speaker 6: Of you're talking to multiple girls in one round, you're
• 37:58
Speaker 6: the one that's kind of your both talking, you're singing,
• 38:01
Speaker 6: you're it's like a whole mix of things to compare
• 38:04
Speaker 6: to some girls where it's like we're gonna have you
• 38:06
Speaker 6: kind of just float around and maybe like walk a
• 38:08
  Speaker 6: girl off.
• 38:08
Speaker 3: Yeah, and does anyone like come in the house, gets
• 38:11
Speaker 3: their name checked off, like they're here, and then they
• 38:12
Speaker 3: go hide in a room and like play on their
• 38:14
  Speaker 3: phone or whatever.
• 38:15
Speaker 6: Like I mean, like the seniors when it comes to
• 38:17
Speaker 6: work week, it's like they're planning their Vegas trips for
• 38:20
  Speaker 6: that week.
• 38:20
Speaker 3: And then I don't know how memories of yeah, work
• 38:23
Speaker 3: week be rash as a senior. All right, So to
• 38:27
Speaker 3: wrap it up, first of all, it's an interesting concept
• 38:31
Speaker 3: work week. I do think in some ways it makes
• 38:34
Speaker 3: sense right, You have to prepare to put on events.
• 38:39
Speaker 3: Like Lee was saying over here that it's like you
• 38:42
Speaker 3: can't just open the door for a party without planning
• 38:45
Speaker 3: the party. What's also interesting is, like a party, you
• 38:49
Speaker 3: prepare for the party, and then the party.
• 38:52
Speaker 4: Last twenty minutes. Do you know what I mean? Like
• 38:53
Speaker 4: when you're throwing a dinner party.
• 38:55
Speaker 3: You prepare, prepare, prepare, buy all the things, decorate the house,
• 38:58
Speaker 3: clean the house, do all these things, and then your dinner.
• 39:01
  Speaker 4: Last two hours.
• 39:02
Speaker 3: The work is much more than the actual event. I
• 39:07
Speaker 3: guess My thing I want to know as we wrap
• 39:10
Speaker 3: up here is one word to describe work week? Did
• 39:17
Speaker 3: you actually love it or hate it? And is it
• 39:22
Speaker 3: effective for each of you? One word to describe work week.
• 39:29
Speaker 5: I liked the word intense, but I'll also say dramatic.
• 39:32
Speaker 4: Great, And do you think it's worth it? Ultimately?
• 39:36
  Speaker 5: I think it's worth it.
• 39:37
Speaker 6: I think depending on your school obviously and how you
• 39:39
Speaker 6: guys orchestrate it. But it's all rehearsed. It's more so
• 39:42
Speaker 6: what yeah, it's work weeks about like rehearsing for the.
• 39:47
Speaker 4: Day of Would you use the word fake or not quite?
• 39:49
Speaker 5: No, I would use the word fake Okay, great.
• 39:51
Speaker 3: Good to know and I forgot my last question menopause,
• 39:53
Speaker 3: but I think it was.
• 39:55
Speaker 4: Is it worth it?
• 39:57
  Speaker 9: Yeah?
• 39:57
Speaker 6: I mean you want to, like, you want to show
• 39:58
Speaker 6: up day of have these p and m's come in,
• 40:00
Speaker 6: and like you want to know what you're doing. You
• 40:01
Speaker 6: don't want to feel lost, and you don't want them
• 40:03
Speaker 6: to know that you are lost either. And like if
• 40:05
Speaker 6: they pick up on any little queue that you guys have,
• 40:08
Speaker 6: that you guys are practicing, like, they'll immediately know that
• 40:11
  Speaker 6: that's all say.
• 40:11
Speaker 3: The hammock of messing up a bump group is like
• 40:16
  Speaker 3: actual full fear.
• 40:17
Speaker 4: Yeah, it's full body fear.
• 40:19
Speaker 5: There are so many little things that we I.
• 40:21
  Speaker 3: Don't know where I'm going, I don't know what I'm doing,
• 40:23
Speaker 3: and my whole body has gone limp.
• 40:25
Speaker 4: Yeah, okay, m over to you. Can you even describe
• 40:30
Speaker 4: work week? Since you seem like the very bad sorority member.
• 40:36
Speaker 7: I would say it's very overhyped.
• 40:39
Speaker 3: Okay, and uh worth it now because you didn't even
• 40:44
  Speaker 3: do it exactly?
• 40:44
Speaker 4: What was my other question?
• 40:47
  Speaker 5: Did you like?
• 40:48
Speaker 11: Who cares? Who cares? Did you love it or hate it?
• 40:52
Speaker 11: She doesn't hate it, she didn't do it? Okay, Lee,
• 40:56
Speaker 11: work week, I literally menopause. I forgot my questions worth.
• 40:59
Speaker 1: It in one word, I would keep giving, give another word,
• 41:03
Speaker 1: give another word, like.
• 41:05
Speaker 4: Hell or fun like hell. But to me, overhyped was
• 41:11
  Speaker 4: a good word.
• 41:12
Speaker 9: Yeah, I think overhyped is a good word to me.
• 41:14
Speaker 9: I just didn't like how calculated it felt.
• 41:17
  Speaker 4: Calculated.
• 41:17
Speaker 1: Okay, how calculated and you're just like planning your every
• 41:21
Speaker 1: move and what you were saying earlier.
• 41:22
Speaker 9: It's kind of fake.
• 41:24
Speaker 1: It's kind of like you can't talk about these things
• 41:27
Speaker 1: that immediately the second reends, you're gonna talk about and
• 41:30
Speaker 1: you're gonna bond over and that's the whole reason you're
• 41:32
Speaker 1: gonna be friends, because you're in college and you're going
• 41:34
Speaker 1: out and you're kissing wooz and you're having it misleading.
• 41:37
Speaker 3: I don't know if the word is misleading, but you
• 41:39
Speaker 3: are misleading these rushies, as you you know, as.
• 41:42
Speaker 4: Me said a little bit.
• 41:43
Speaker 1: But I do feel like most of them are cuted
• 41:45
Speaker 1: into like what happened gets after they get the vibe.
• 41:48
Speaker 4: They get worse. It is all that work worth it, I.
• 41:51
Speaker 1: Don't know, Like to me, no, but I think it
• 41:55
Speaker 1: also depends on your experience and your sority. I was
• 41:58
Speaker 1: like kind of met about some people love their sorority.
• 42:01
Speaker 4: Minute of it. I'd go back today. I'd like to
• 42:03
  Speaker 4: live there.
• 42:03
Speaker 3: Literally, we're like planning a reunion right now, and there's
• 42:06
Speaker 3: like every day I add a new member to the
• 42:08
Speaker 3: text chat for our reunion and I get so happy.
• 42:11
Speaker 3: I loved every second of it. I hope when we're
• 42:13
Speaker 3: eighty that we all just moved back into the house together.
• 42:16
Speaker 4: Work week was like rough. It just was a lot.
• 42:22
  Speaker 4: That's I guess that was what I would say, It's
• 42:23
  Speaker 4: just a lot. It's a lot.
• 42:25
Speaker 3: But I also know that, like I said, messing up
• 42:29
Speaker 3: is worse. Honestly, Yeah, it's real stressful.
• 42:32
  Speaker 4: It would be.
• 42:32
  Speaker 5: It would be.
• 42:33
  Speaker 4: So look, you're you're you.
• 42:35
Speaker 3: Want to put on a good front to these people
• 42:38
Speaker 3: coming in who it does impact their college experience completely,
• 42:42
Speaker 3: So you don't want to just.
• 42:43
Speaker 4: One hundred percent lazy about it.
• 42:46
Speaker 1: Yet you want to choose a great pledge cost because
• 42:47
Speaker 1: you want to continue your legacy and remain a house
• 42:51
Speaker 1: that is top and whatever that regardless for you. Like
• 42:54
Speaker 1: for my sorority grades, we were always hopping grades for
• 42:57
Speaker 1: the past like ten years.
• 42:58
Speaker 9: Once I had got there. I don't know how I know.
• 43:02
Speaker 1: That's a different story. But they were so serious about grades,
• 43:05
