- 0:09Speaker 1: Welcome to the Favorites, presented by DraftKings.
- 0:12Speaker 2: The crown is yours.
- 0:14Speaker 1: I'm your host, Brandon Kravitz, joined by the Queen of
- 0:17Speaker 1: the Pod, Miss Kendra Middleton. Stucky still stuck in that
- 0:22Speaker 1: sweet sweet nectar of the Sweet sixteen.
- 0:25Speaker 2: We'll get him back sooner rather than later.
- 0:28Speaker 1: Fun episode on Tuesday with Schnzaillo from the Payoff Pitch podcast.
- 0:31Speaker 2: If you miss that, go and check it out.
- 0:33Speaker 1: A ton of actionable angles on this season in Major
- 0:36Speaker 1: League Baseball, which, by the way, Kendra starts today officially,
- 0:41Speaker 1: even though we had the Giants of the Yankees. But
- 0:42Speaker 1: you know what I mean, Opening day is today. How
- 0:45Speaker 1: can you not be romantic about baseball?
- 0:48Speaker 3: Yay wooo baseball. I love baseball so fake only because
- 0:54Speaker 3: it means that I'm about to be in a song
- 0:57Speaker 3: outside in the sun. That's the only reason that I
- 1:01Speaker 3: get excited about baseball season. I'm like, my seasonal depression
- 1:04Speaker 3: is almost over, and I get the shovel hot dog
- 1:07Speaker 3: in my mouth. Let's go.
- 1:09Speaker 1: And as a resident of the state of Florida, people
- 1:11Speaker 1: wonder why baseball doesn't work quite the same in this state.
- 1:14Speaker 1: It's not that people don't like baseball. It's that it
- 1:17Speaker 1: doesn't signify the same thing here that it does in
- 1:21Speaker 1: markets like where you are, or in Chicago or in
- 1:24Speaker 1: New York, where you've been stuck inside for months and
- 1:28Speaker 1: you finally get to breathe the outdoor air.
- 1:31Speaker 3: I don't really get excited about baseball until the NHL
- 1:35Speaker 3: ends and the NBA Finals are over. That's when I
- 1:38Speaker 3: can like shift my attention to baseball. I do love
- 1:40Speaker 3: Opening Day because, like I said, it means that, like
- 1:43Speaker 3: I'm looking up it's hot dog and bikini season. However,
- 1:46Speaker 3: I need to get through everything else before I can
- 1:48Speaker 3: shift my focus to baseball. But I still love it.
- 1:51Speaker 1: We are going to Yeah, I mean, even if you're
- 1:54Speaker 1: not the biggest baseball person, how can you not like
- 1:56Speaker 1: Opening Day. There's just something nostalgic. It soothes the soul
- 2:01Speaker 1: about it. And anytime I get a sporting event on
- 2:04Speaker 1: that matters at noon, hmm.
- 2:07Speaker 3: That part, that part, that's the good part. That's I
- 2:09Speaker 3: think that that's one of the reasons people love March Madness, right,
- 2:11Speaker 3: is it's like there's something going on. Same with like
- 2:14Speaker 3: the World Cup and the Olympics. You get something in
- 2:17Speaker 3: the dead of the day where you're just pining for
- 2:19Speaker 3: anything to happen.
- 2:21Speaker 1: Yes, why else have an iPad if not to stream
- 2:25Speaker 1: sports in the middle of the day. Correct some NFL
- 2:29Speaker 1: news for you, by the way, We have Dinger bets
- 2:31Speaker 1: coming up in a moment. Also, Ianhartitz from Fantasylife dot
- 2:35Speaker 1: com is gonna talk fantasy angles with Kendra and I
- 2:38Speaker 1: really excited to chop it up with Ian. I've been
- 2:40Speaker 1: following his stuff for years. I mean he's been around
- 2:43Speaker 1: the block some big time publications, Pro Football Focus, Rohtal World,
- 2:47Speaker 1: and now with Matthew Berry spot at Fantasy Life. So
- 2:51Speaker 1: we'll break down off season moves and some NFL draft
- 2:54Speaker 1: guys and get you set for the fantasy side of
- 2:58Speaker 1: this sports betting endeavor. So, the season is set to
- 3:01Speaker 1: start on a Wednesday this year in the NFL instead
- 3:04Speaker 1: of a Thursday, and the change is being made because
- 3:06Speaker 1: the Rams and the forty nine ers are playing on
- 3:10Speaker 1: Friday morning in Australia, which is eight thirty five pm
- 3:14Speaker 1: Eastern time in the United States. Now, I misread this
- 3:19Speaker 1: and sent a very dumb tweet yesterday which I am
- 3:22Speaker 1: embarrassed to admit, Kendra I have since deleted because it
- 3:27Speaker 1: didn't make any sense. I am a geograph hard, That's
- 3:32Speaker 1: exactly it. Time zone time.
- 3:34Speaker 3: Zones are so hard. I literally do not I clown
- 3:36Speaker 3: on you for a lot of shit. I do not
- 3:38Speaker 3: clown on you for this because time zones are hard
- 3:41Speaker 3: as fuck and I hate them. Daylight savings time zones
- 3:45Speaker 3: the worst shit ever.
- 3:46Speaker 1: So Adam Schefter shared the news on his Twitter account
- 3:50Speaker 1: and then put where all of the time zones where
- 3:54Speaker 1: the games are occurring? And I didn't realize that ten
- 3:58Speaker 1: thirty five A. He meant Australian Eastern Time, which is
- 4:04Speaker 1: its own fucking time zone.
- 4:06Speaker 2: Who knew? So anyway, we're not we.
- 4:09Speaker 3: Have four time zones. I think it's just like us.
- 4:13Speaker 2: How would I know that?
- 4:14Speaker 1: Okay, I know that, But this is basically like what
- 4:19Speaker 1: I was What I was envisioning was that this is
- 4:21Speaker 1: gonna be like London, where they're playing a game and
- 4:23Speaker 1: it's like a nighttime for them, but we're watching it
- 4:25Speaker 1: at nine thirty in the morning with our tea and crumpets.
- 4:28Speaker 1: Well that's not happening. This is Friday morning for them,
- 4:31Speaker 1: Thursday night for us. We're gonna get the start of
- 4:34Speaker 1: the season, seat we're gonna get the Seahawks against a
- 4:37Speaker 1: mystery opponent we don't know who that is on Wednesday,
- 4:40Speaker 1: and then Thursday night there will be a game being
- 4:42Speaker 1: played in the morning in Australia. I hope that everybody
- 4:45Speaker 1: is following this. I think I get it now, but thoughts, comments, concerns, queries.
- 4:52Speaker 3: Yes, this pisses me off. I literally hate the foreign
- 4:57Speaker 3: games so much. Get your own damn league, get your
- 5:01Speaker 3: own damn team, Leave me alone. I've been to the
- 5:03Speaker 3: London games, They're fine, fun whatever. I literally feel like
- 5:08Speaker 3: that's seen in Napoleon Dynamite where somebody is kicking my
- 5:10Speaker 3: Tator tots. No, go find your own leave me alone.
- 5:14Speaker 3: I'm sick of the Brazil game. Fuck Germany. I don't
- 5:17Speaker 3: want to go to Spain. Let me have my football.
- 5:19Speaker 3: You're taking home games away from people who pay for
- 5:21Speaker 3: season tickets and I hate it. I hate this. I
- 5:24Speaker 3: want it over. Grow the game, your own damn way,
- 5:27Speaker 3: go away, leave me alone.
- 5:29Speaker 1: International game has been going on for years, and that
- 5:31Speaker 1: Friday game has been going on for the last two years.
- 5:34Speaker 1: We've been getting the Brazil game and now it's it's
- 5:39Speaker 1: gone the way of Australia. This is the NFL trying
- 5:42Speaker 1: to globalize the league if they take.
- 5:44Speaker 2: One game a year.
- 5:45Speaker 1: And here's the thing where I would push back on
- 5:47Speaker 1: the season tickets. First of all, I would hope that
- 5:50Speaker 1: you get a discount on your season tickets if you
- 5:52Speaker 1: don't have so many, that's much inventory available.
- 5:54Speaker 4: No.
- 5:55Speaker 3: I went to buy Jaguars season tickets this year. They
- 5:57Speaker 3: have six home games to London games and half the
- 6:00Speaker 3: heats in the stadium are like being renovated. They raise
- 6:03Speaker 3: ticket prices fifteen percent. I think somebody did the mask,
- 6:06Speaker 3: Like twenty percent of your season ticket value this year
- 6:08Speaker 3: is for pre season football.
- 6:10Speaker 1: That's insane. Yeah, that's that's a crime. But the at
- 6:16Speaker 1: least they're giving you with these with the specifically.
- 6:19Speaker 3: This Friday millionaires. Don't do this to me, don't you dare.
- 6:23Speaker 1: At least they are giving you divisional games where you
- 6:28Speaker 1: get the opportunity every year to see these teams walk
- 6:32Speaker 1: in your building.
- 6:32Speaker 2: I would have a bigger problem with it.
- 6:34Speaker 3: If Hey, the Tennessee Titans, yay.
- 6:36Speaker 1: The Cults, It's like, oh yeah, I already have already
- 6:39Speaker 1: seen Daniel Jones come to the building.
- 6:41Speaker 2: We'll let Brazil or Australia have that.
- 6:44Speaker 1: I think these I think they're going to create a
- 6:46Speaker 1: wave of fans down on Duh. I mean they're gonna
- 6:50Speaker 1: have these people looking around like what is this shit
- 6:53Speaker 1: We've been watching.
- 6:53Speaker 3: Criss matchup that they're gonna get all season, and you're
- 6:56Speaker 3: giving it to people who don't give a fuck and
- 6:59Speaker 3: don't get it, like maybe they're NFL fans, maybe they're
- 7:02Speaker 3: football fans, whatever, but you're taking them.
- 7:04Speaker 1: But you have you noticed that because I have not
- 7:08Speaker 1: that the crowds have have been meh at these games.
- 7:13Speaker 1: They seem like they're pretty in it.
- 7:15Speaker 3: I've been to these games. I have at least fifty
- 7:18Speaker 3: clips in my phone of jerseys at these games of
- 7:21Speaker 3: people who just found them at Goodwill and clung onto
- 7:24Speaker 3: a team because they found it on the clearance racket Goodwill.
- 7:27Speaker 3: It's people that maybe had a cup of coffee with
- 7:29Speaker 3: the team. Like I love, I travel all the time.
- 7:32Speaker 3: I'm all about it. I go to soccer games when
- 7:34Speaker 3: I go abroad, but I go abroad to watch teams
- 7:36Speaker 3: like Arsenal and Manchester United because that's their thing, that's
- 7:39Speaker 3: what they have. I don't expect it here, even though
- 7:42Speaker 3: they do the international friendlies. You are taking the best
- 7:44Speaker 3: game that they are going to get all season, that
- 7:46Speaker 3: every single one of those real fans wants to watch
- 7:49Speaker 3: and pay season tickets for. And you're giving it to
- 7:52Speaker 3: people that don't give a fuck. And I hate it
- 7:54Speaker 3: all right, that is.
- 7:55Speaker 1: I cannot deny very spicy, very spicy take, you know what.
- 8:00Speaker 3: I'm so excited for them, I'm so happy. I'm happy.
- 8:03Speaker 1: Yeah, you know you don't you get your passport revoked.
- 8:06Speaker 1: That's the problem. Literally, let's get two hour Draft Kings
- 8:10Speaker 1: Segment of the Day Major League Baseball Opening Day. We're
- 8:14Speaker 1: gonna hand out some dinger bets presented by Draft Kings.
- 8:18Speaker 2: The crown is yours.
- 8:19Speaker 1: I am taking the most obvious home run bet of
- 8:22Speaker 1: the day in Major League Baseball. I'm going Tyler O'Neill
- 8:27Speaker 1: of the Baltimore Orioles. My Baltimore Orioles, tabbed Mister Opening Day.
- 8:33Speaker 1: He has now hit a home run in six straight openers.
- 8:38Speaker 1: No matter what team he's on, he hits home runs
- 8:41Speaker 1: on Opening Day plus three zero eight on DraftKings. That's
- 8:44Speaker 1: my dinger bet of the day.
- 8:46Speaker 3: Kendra, I actually have some good news for our DraftKings
- 8:50Speaker 3: friends and family. When I filled out our notes this morning,
- 8:54Speaker 3: Roman Anthony was plus four hundred to hit a home run.
- 8:57Speaker 3: He's now plus four thirteen. So we've got even more
- 9:01Speaker 3: value because we waited a little bit longer. So I'm
- 9:04Speaker 3: gonna go Roman Anthony. He's he's the future of the
- 9:06Speaker 3: Red Sox. He had a good WBC. I'm all over
- 9:09Speaker 3: Roman Anthony today. I think that he is going to
- 9:11Speaker 3: be the youngest leader that this team has on the field,
- 9:15Speaker 3: off the field, all of it. I'm going to back
- 9:16Speaker 3: Roman Anthony until the wheels fall off. I think that
- 9:19Speaker 3: he is a real shot at an MVP candidate this year. Yehaw.
- 9:22Speaker 3: We ride at dawn when we got.
- 9:25Speaker 1: The email from the Overlords task for some season long predictions.
- 9:29Speaker 2: My al MVP was Roman Anthony.
- 9:32Speaker 1: Yes well as well, all right, and we did not
- 9:35Speaker 1: higher that's right. We did not communicate on this, So simpatico,
- 9:40Speaker 1: that's right there. Presented by Draft Kings of the Crown,

- 10:23Speaker 1: One of the best follows on Twitter at Ihartitz. He
- 10:28Speaker 1: is Ian Harditz football knowledge with a splash of Internet humor. Ian,
- 10:34Speaker 1: I've been following your work for a long time. Your
- 10:36Speaker 1: phenomenal at what you do. How's life treating you?
- 10:38Speaker 5: Appreciate that? Man, life is good. Got out on the
- 10:41Speaker 5: golf course for about twenty seven yesterday we got Opening
- 10:44Speaker 5: Day coming in. Even though I'm not a you know,
- 10:47Speaker 5: biggest baseball guy in the world. We got some extra
- 10:49Speaker 5: sports going on him. How can you not love that?
- 10:50Speaker 5: But yeah, I man appreciate you guys.
- 10:51Speaker 1: Have me on of course, so I was joking with everybody,
- 10:55Speaker 1: or I guess sports, so they were clowning on me
- 10:58Speaker 1: for talking about the gel and Waddle trade as it
- 11:01Speaker 1: broke last week, and I looked at it through my
- 11:05Speaker 1: myopic lens as a Dolphins fan, is what does what
- 11:09Speaker 1: does this mean for the rebuild? What does it mean
- 11:11Speaker 1: for why would you go get Malik Willis and then
- 11:13Speaker 1: trade the number one wide receiver on the team after
- 11:16Speaker 1: dumping Tyreek Hill? YadA, YadA, YadA, and completely neglected the
- 11:20Speaker 1: more impactful side of this whole equation, which is what
- 11:23Speaker 1: does this mean for bow Knicks, Sean Payton and the
- 11:25Speaker 1: Denver Broncos. So enlighten us on the more important angle
- 11:29Speaker 1: here of what this means for Denver and what this
- 11:32Speaker 1: means for bo Nicks.
- 11:35Speaker 5: I mean, I think it's pretty great for him. You
- 11:37Speaker 5: look at this offense. Obviously, Corton Sutton has been fine,
- 11:40Speaker 5: and Sean Payton and Bownicks have found a way to
- 11:41Speaker 5: still score points over these you know, last two seasons,
- 11:44Speaker 5: But they weren't just missing that guy that could really
- 11:47Speaker 5: instill some fear in defenses downfield. Marvin Mams just flash
- 11:50Speaker 5: it and everything and everything he can do is screens,
- 11:52Speaker 5: even like in the return game. That's great, but I
- 11:54Speaker 5: don't know, man like Sean Payne doesn't trust the guy
- 11:56Speaker 5: enough to play him in a full time role, so
- 11:58Speaker 5: we have bo Nix continue to throw the Troy Franklin,
- 12:00Speaker 5: which honestly like worst chemistry between a pair of former
- 12:04Speaker 5: college teammates since what like Mason Rudolph and James Washington,
- 12:07Speaker 5: Like it is incredible to me how many times Bonix
- 12:10Speaker 5: and Troy Franklin miss on deep balls, So they really
- 12:12Speaker 5: want to do again, I think, just try to find
- 12:14Speaker 5: someone in that offense that is going to force safeties
- 12:16Speaker 5: to say, oh crap, Jayleen Waddell's on the outside now,
- 12:19Speaker 5: Like I gotta make sure I take an extra step
- 12:20Speaker 5: back here, because previously I just don't think anyone was
- 12:22Speaker 5: overly scaring defenses. So fantastic real life fit. I think
- 12:26Speaker 5: from more of a fantasy perspective, like, yeah, we're probably not,
- 12:29Speaker 5: Like I didn't change my rankings all that much, because
- 12:31Speaker 5: we're looking at him going from being the undisputed number
- 12:34Speaker 5: one target hog in Miami to maybe more of an
- 12:36Speaker 5: overqualified number two, maybe one A, one B, depending on
- 12:39Speaker 5: how you feel about Sutton and Denver. But it's gonna
- 12:41Speaker 5: be more of a split situation there. But just a
- 12:44Speaker 5: really good team man, I'd be curious in your guys
- 12:45Speaker 5: thoughts too, Like do the Broncos have maybe the most
- 12:49Speaker 5: complete roster in the NFL. I don't think you can
- 12:51Speaker 5: name more than three or four teams in a better
- 12:52Speaker 5: spot than them.
- 12:53Speaker 4: Right now, I.
- 12:54Speaker 1: Would still put the Rams ahead of them, and I
- 12:57Speaker 1: think we can't. We can't neglect the team that just
- 13:00Speaker 1: won the Super Bowl with a complete roster in Seattle,
- 13:04Speaker 1: but I can't. I can't get to four. I think
- 13:07Speaker 1: that have a more complete roster than the Broncos.
- 13:10Speaker 3: Kendra, I am an Auburn girly and I am not
- 13:14Speaker 3: a Bonix truther, so I'm gonna have to go absolutely not.
- 13:18Speaker 3: I can't get behind him. I need him to show
- 13:20Speaker 3: me some more before I believe in this roster. I
- 13:23Speaker 3: get that, you know, Sam Darnold went out there not
- 13:26Speaker 3: the best quarterback won a super Bowl because the rest
- 13:28Speaker 3: of the roster around him was impressive enough to do so.
- 13:31Speaker 3: But I need more from Bonis to be able to
- 13:33Speaker 3: believe in him instead of just I think it's more
- 13:36Speaker 3: Sean Payton than it is Bonicks in that situation.
- 13:41Speaker 1: Being a one seed not enough to impress Kendra Middleton. Nope,
- 13:46Speaker 1: let's write that in sharpie. So Jalen Wattle, I can
- 13:51Speaker 1: already hear how the fantasy analysis is gonna go. It's
- 13:53Speaker 1: gonna be You're gonna have fantasy analysts that just ride
- 13:57Speaker 1: that that middle of the fence area where they go, well,
- 14:00Speaker 1: you don't want to take Jaalen Wattle in PPR and
- 14:03Speaker 1: Courtland Sutton and standard I can already hear it, or
- 14:07Speaker 1: doing how many do.
- 14:08Speaker 4: You like him at cost? I like him at cost?
- 14:10Speaker 2: Do you like it or not?
- 14:11Speaker 4: Okay, throw adp out of here.
- 14:12Speaker 1: Yeah right, I like Dylan Wattle in Best Ball. That's
- 14:15Speaker 1: the one that always gets it. Just to eliminate that
- 14:19Speaker 1: from your jargon. That just means you don't like the guy. Okay,
- 14:21Speaker 1: just say it. But does anybody actually play standard leagues anymore?
- 14:25Speaker 1: I don't think I know a single person that doesn't
- 14:27Speaker 1: play in a league that rewards receptions.
- 14:29Speaker 2: Is that still a thing in the industry.
- 14:31Speaker 5: I'm in one, my literal og league with like my
- 14:34Speaker 5: dad and so of his work friends. So it's standard.
- 14:37Speaker 5: They have a head coach spot, which I actually kind
- 14:39Speaker 5: of like. You just have a head coach that's a
- 14:41Speaker 5: team and if they win the game, you get three points.
- 14:43Speaker 4: If they lose, it's I love that's kind of out.
- 14:45Speaker 4: So I like that. Love that, yeah, right, Like it's nice.
- 14:49Speaker 4: Not even you could actually do against the spread as well.
- 14:52Speaker 5: I'll be open to that, but like just a little
- 14:53Speaker 5: bit of a you know, extra factor. So I'm with you.
- 14:56Speaker 5: I honestly think full PPR is a little much. I
- 14:58Speaker 5: think half is a sweet but I've thought about adding
- 15:01Speaker 5: in the first downs and stuff like that. But you know,
- 15:03Speaker 5: it's just new and kind of gets my gets.
- 15:06Speaker 4: Me thinking about extra stuff.
- 15:07Speaker 5: Maybe not the worst thing, but half PPR is right
- 15:09Speaker 5: because the thing that pisses me off. And I try
- 15:10Speaker 5: to show this about the season, like we'll see these
- 15:13Speaker 5: running backs catch up two yard you know pop passers
- 15:16Speaker 5: of catching the flat just get absolutely drilled and you're like,
- 15:19Speaker 5: how is that the same amount of fantasy points as
- 15:21Speaker 5: like a real tough, rugged eight yard run up the
- 15:23Speaker 5: middle man.
- 15:23Speaker 4: So it's an amazing game, amazing sport. But we got
- 15:26Speaker 4: some things that we can fix.
- 15:27Speaker 3: I want to piggyback off of the running back thing
- 15:29Speaker 3: for a for a conversation really quick. So obviously lots
- 15:32Speaker 3: of change in Atlanta. The quarterback question of the future
- 15:35Speaker 3: is kind of sitting there. But how many people do
- 15:38Speaker 3: you think are going to fuck up the Bee Jon Robinson,
- 15:40Speaker 3: Ryan Robinson junior thing this season.
- 15:43Speaker 5: It's gonna be a you know, when we see the
- 15:45Speaker 5: b Robinson touchdown red zone, gonna definitely send a shiver
- 15:48Speaker 5: down the spy.
- 15:49Speaker 4: Trying to figure out which one from is.
- 15:51Speaker 5: And honestly, like I was surprised that Brian Robinson didn't
- 15:53Speaker 5: have a few more suitors. I honestly think he's a
- 15:56Speaker 5: pretty good replacement for kind of what they asked Tyler
- 15:58Speaker 5: Algier to do there. Someone who can and again just
- 16:00Speaker 5: handle those eight to ten carries up the middle per
- 16:03Speaker 5: game and some of the goal line work that you know,
- 16:05Speaker 5: it's gonna piss off Beajon Robinson fantasy managers because us
- 16:08Speaker 5: fantasy nerds and virgins are so freaking up aty about anyone.
- 16:12Speaker 4: Getting additional touches.
- 16:13Speaker 5: B Jones had what three hundred and sixty six and
- 16:15Speaker 5: three hundred and sixty seven these last two years.
- 16:17Speaker 4: I think that's plenty guys.
- 16:18Speaker 5: So yeah, I know Brian will get some touches here
- 16:20Speaker 5: and there, but good fit overall for the team. I
- 16:22Speaker 5: was gonna surprised he didn't find his way to Seattle.
- 16:25Speaker 5: Honestly thought he would have been a good fit in Washington.
- 16:27Speaker 5: Obviously they already kind of ran that course there, so
- 16:30Speaker 5: it didn't exactly work out, But it's gonna be funny,
- 16:32Speaker 5: and hey, it reminds me, guys back in the early
- 16:34Speaker 5: twenty tens, when there was obviously stud god mode Adrian Peterson,
- 16:38Speaker 5: there was also backup Bears running back Adrian Peterson, And
- 16:42Speaker 5: the most fun thing ever was to start like a
- 16:44Speaker 5: mock draft and auctions and then nominate the Bears Adrian
- 16:47Speaker 5: Peterson and just watched the world burn.
- 16:50Speaker 1: See now with ADP rankings within these sites, people don't
- 16:53Speaker 1: make that same mistake that they used too, So shout
- 16:57Speaker 1: out to the stickers as well for still holding it
- 16:59Speaker 1: down for old heads. Jamior Gibbs loses his number two,
- 17:04Speaker 1: David Montgomery, Bijon loses Tyler Algier. He goes to the
- 17:08Speaker 1: Arizona Cardinals. Which one of those guys they both have
- 17:11Speaker 1: massive upside. Obviously they might go one and two in
- 17:13Speaker 1: most drafts, but which one now has a even higher
- 17:17Speaker 1: ceiling if at all possible with the side car going.
- 17:23Speaker 4: You know, it's pick whatever.
- 17:25Speaker 5: I'd be very I struggle to think of like a
- 17:28Speaker 5: downside scenario for either guy. You know what I'm saying, Like,
- 17:30Speaker 5: I don't even think there's a chance where it's a
- 17:32Speaker 5: Saquon Barkley year where he's getting you know, touchdowns, kind
- 17:35Speaker 5: of still want the goal line. He's not getting involved
- 17:36Speaker 5: nothing in the passing game and just especially in full PPR,
- 17:39Speaker 5: which let's face it, that's kind of like our standard
- 17:41Speaker 5: of these days, even with my issues with it, Like
- 17:43Speaker 5: just running backs who are gonna be catching sixty seventy
- 17:46Speaker 5: passes like they literally just don't bust. It's like the close,
- 17:49Speaker 5: high receiving running backs and like the dual threat quarterbacks
- 17:51Speaker 5: who are running a lot like you just don't see
- 17:53Speaker 5: those archetypes usually bust. So I'd say, Gibbs, if the
- 17:56Speaker 5: Lions can get that offensive line going a little bit better,
- 17:59Speaker 5: because obviously that was his culprit. But those would be
- 18:01Speaker 5: I guess the reddish flags the Lions offensive line, the
- 18:03Speaker 5: Falcons just maybe sucking as a scoring offense. And we
- 18:06Speaker 5: have one of the seasons where, like I remember bris
- 18:08Speaker 5: All two years ago, he had one carry inside the
- 18:10Speaker 5: five yard line all season long, Like that would be
- 18:13Speaker 5: the one issue for Beijon and then for Gibbs, it
- 18:15Speaker 5: would just be unfortunately, some more of these games where
- 18:17Speaker 5: you look up and he has ten carries for twenty
- 18:19Speaker 5: yards because it can't open up a whole. But I'm
- 18:21Speaker 5: also less concerned about Pacheco behind Gibbs, you know, actually
- 18:25Speaker 5: carving anything out than I am, maybe with Brian Robinson
- 18:27Speaker 5: being a little bit annoying.
- 18:29Speaker 4: So again, probably a.
- 18:30Speaker 5: New point because I think both guys will get fed
- 18:31Speaker 5: the ball plenty. But like we saw in Detroit last year,
- 18:34Speaker 5: a healthy David Montgomery, who had done such good things
- 18:37Speaker 5: without organization, just get completely phased out down the stretch.
- 18:40Speaker 5: Now Pacheco gets this one year peanuts deal man, Like
- 18:43Speaker 5: I'm not even sure if he's gonna be making the roster.
- 18:45Speaker 5: So overall, give me Gibbs, but I do think those
- 18:48Speaker 5: are like the first two picks and fantasy drafts, and
- 18:50Speaker 5: like we'll get to the wide receivers after them.
- 18:52Speaker 3: I want to keep the running back conversation going and
- 18:54Speaker 3: then we can go elsewhere if we choose, because we've
- 18:57Speaker 3: kind of talked about running backs from meybe eight minutes now.
- 19:00Speaker 3: But I'm from Jacksonville, diehard Jaguars fan, Travis ETN love
- 19:04Speaker 3: him so happy for him with the Saints. Do you
- 19:06Speaker 3: think that this is more of a relevant move for
- 19:08Speaker 3: the Saints. Do you think that he has more value
- 19:10Speaker 3: there than he did in the Jags offense? Or does
- 19:12Speaker 3: this mean more for Bachiel Tuton. I would even take
- 19:15Speaker 3: a Laquent Allen junior sleeper take here ooh.
- 19:19Speaker 5: Man, some of the best I think like it took
- 19:21Speaker 5: parctically two hours, two hours of my best two hours
- 19:24Speaker 5: of the offseason so far as a cut up I
- 19:25Speaker 5: made of the Laquent Allen pass pro reps and just man,
- 19:29Speaker 5: that dude guy there is absolutely ferocious out there.
- 19:33Speaker 4: So that.
- 19:35Speaker 5: I love him, and it's one of those things in
- 19:37Speaker 5: Jacksonville where he is. I'm happy you brought him off
- 19:39Speaker 5: because people aren't maybe giving enough credit to the possibility
- 19:42Speaker 5: that he's taken some of those fantasy friendly passed down,
- 19:44Speaker 5: you know, snaps and targets and all that stuff going on.
- 19:46Speaker 4: So I lean Tuton.
- 19:48Speaker 5: The Chris Rodriguez, Liam Cohen stuff going back to Kentucky
- 19:51Speaker 5: is intriguing. But just again, I know and all these
- 19:54Speaker 5: fantasy people are gonna shouting out, oh base, h'all toot,
- 19:56Speaker 5: And he didn't have a great explosive run rate and
- 19:58Speaker 5: all this. You watched the guy and every time he
- 20:00Speaker 5: touches the ball man looks like he shot out of
- 20:02Speaker 5: a cannon. So we'll continue to criticize him for that
- 20:05Speaker 5: swing pass against like the Chiefs where he ran to
- 20:07Speaker 5: the back of his own player, because when it comes
- 20:09Speaker 5: to vision, we remember one freaking play and that ends
- 20:12Speaker 5: up defining the people's entire career with that. So all
- 20:15Speaker 5: that aside, I do think Tuden is gonna have a
- 20:17Speaker 5: chance to lead, and you know, hype trains only gonna
- 20:19Speaker 5: get more higher. I think as we get closer to
- 20:21Speaker 5: the season, but for a good reason, low end RB
- 20:24Speaker 5: two are worse for me Etn. I'm just waiting to see,
- 20:27Speaker 5: like Ava Kamara's gotta be done at this point. I think, like,
- 20:30Speaker 5: you don't give Etn that sort of money, I think,
- 20:32Speaker 5: and bring him back Kamara. So assuming he's out of
- 20:34Speaker 5: the picture, yeah, we're just looking at running back again
- 20:36Speaker 5: where you're paying north to fifty million dollars at least
- 20:39Speaker 5: as with the original contract said hard time, believing he's
- 20:41Speaker 5: not gonna get in completely force fed touches. So SATs offense,
- 20:45Speaker 5: low key, wide open, NFC South. I think they're gonna
- 20:48Speaker 5: add another playmaker here, but the eighth overall pick. If
- 20:51Speaker 5: shuck and keep playing like he was in the second half, guys,
- 20:53Speaker 5: this could actually be a fun little team we got here.
- 20:55Speaker 3: They're gonna win the South.
- 20:58Speaker 4: I could see it. I could see it.
- 21:00Speaker 2: I meanass wide the hell open. That is for sure.
- 21:03Speaker 5: Defense last year too, was top ten and EP allowed
- 21:06Speaker 5: for play Like that was one of the more shocking
- 21:08Speaker 5: things just looking back, because you know, let's face it,
- 21:10Speaker 5: like I try to watch as much football as possible,
- 21:13Speaker 5: and I appreciate Tyler shuck down the second half of
- 21:15Speaker 5: the year, but like that was one of those stats
- 21:16Speaker 5: where I was like, oh damn.
- 21:17Speaker 4: You know, Cam Jordan and company, they really still did
- 21:19Speaker 4: have it.
- 21:19Speaker 3: There's a little bit of a pivot. But do you
- 21:21Speaker 3: think because he was so old he was, what twenty
- 21:23Speaker 3: five twenty six, one of the oldest guys ever drafted.
- 21:26Speaker 3: You know, people talk about how sitting helps and playing
- 21:28Speaker 3: a ton of football helps, But do you think that
- 21:30Speaker 3: just because he was low key and old man heading
- 21:33Speaker 3: into the season that that helped him.
- 21:36Speaker 2: I do.
- 21:36Speaker 5: And we saw the same thing with Bowneck and Jade
- 21:38Speaker 5: and Daniels having so many college starts and coming out
- 21:41Speaker 5: and just being more experienced and ready to go. And
- 21:43Speaker 5: I think obviously the slow starts for Caleb Williams and
- 21:46Speaker 5: JJ McCarthy definitely you can also attribute to that. So
- 21:49Speaker 5: just in today's day and age too, I mean I
- 21:51Speaker 5: saw a tweet literally before I got on here. It
- 21:53Speaker 5: was like Dan Marino's sixth season. The numbers were just horrendous.
- 21:56Speaker 5: He had already done so much before that that he
- 21:58Speaker 5: was their franchise QB. But like, I just think in
- 22:00Speaker 5: today's day and age, you can't afford to have the
- 22:03Speaker 5: even like Lili McCarthy, you had ten games and like
- 22:06Speaker 5: you know, seven of them were horrendous, and now it's
- 22:08Speaker 5: looking like he's not even gonna have a chance to
- 22:09Speaker 5: go back there for year three after being drafted with
- 22:11Speaker 5: a tenth overall pick. I don't even think that's necessarily wrong,
- 22:14Speaker 5: but it's just a different day and age where you
- 22:16Speaker 5: better take advantage of your first shot or two in
- 22:19Speaker 5: that season one or season two, otherwise you get your job.
- 22:21Speaker 4: Jack.
- 22:22Speaker 5: So I also think with nil and then the COVID
- 22:24Speaker 5: year where so many guys got the extra red shirt,
- 22:26Speaker 5: Like I'm all for breakout age and Dominator in the
- 22:30Speaker 5: history of quarterbacks, you know, coming out early versus being
- 22:33Speaker 5: a red shirt senior. But the times are also changing
- 22:35Speaker 5: enough here where I do wonder if we're gonna see
- 22:37Speaker 5: older college players actually come into the NFL more because
- 22:41Speaker 5: they're more ready when they do it. And now it's
- 22:43Speaker 5: like it's not even a thing where it's like, oh,
- 22:45Speaker 5: because ten years ago it's like, you're not making money
- 22:48Speaker 5: in college, why would you not go into the NFL.
- 22:50Speaker 5: And if you're not going to the NFL, you must
- 22:52Speaker 5: not be good enough to go into the NFL. Now
- 22:54Speaker 5: it's like, hell, some of these top quarterbacks, you can
- 22:56Speaker 5: make another eight million, chill with the dudes on campus
- 22:58Speaker 5: for another year. Why would you do it? So yeah,
- 23:01Speaker 5: very much evolving with the age of ratification.
- 23:03Speaker 1: We're seeing the same thing with those end of first round,
- 23:06Speaker 1: second round picks.
- 23:07Speaker 2: In the NBA too.
- 23:08Speaker 1: There's very very real money and you've already had the
- 23:11Speaker 1: awesome experience. Remember we saw Matt Liinert in an age
- 23:15Speaker 1: of non legal pay for college athletes, say I love
- 23:18Speaker 1: college so much, I don't want to be the number
- 23:20Speaker 1: one overall pick, and then wound up dropping ten spots
- 23:22Speaker 1: the following year. But you two are neglecting the Brandon
- 23:26Speaker 1: Whedon's and the Chris Wankies of the world. Okay, just
- 23:29Speaker 1: because you're old and you come into the NFL doesn't
- 23:31Speaker 1: make you good.
- 23:32Speaker 2: You gotta be good.
- 23:32Speaker 1: First, and then being old perhaps is a supplement to that.
- 23:36Speaker 1: Let's pivot to the wide receivers.
- 23:37Speaker 2: Romeo Dobs Man, Listen, I'm bringing up the Chris Wanky stats.
- 23:43Speaker 1: Romeo Dobbs now the number one wide receiver in New England,
- 23:47Speaker 1: at least that's what it looks like on papers. Is
- 23:50Speaker 1: that the way that we're going to treat him in
- 23:52Speaker 1: fantasy or or is this very much a wait and
- 23:54Speaker 1: see with what they do in the draft.
- 23:56Speaker 5: I don't know how you guys feel about the People's
- 23:58Speaker 5: Insider Ricky, but he did hop pack on the old
- 24:01Speaker 5: Twitter a week ago. I love me some Ricky, and
- 24:04Speaker 5: he did say June second, aj Brown the Patriots. So
- 24:07Speaker 5: we will see what happens. But that would make more
- 24:09Speaker 5: sense to me. Nothing is Romeo Dobbs. He was underrated
- 24:13Speaker 5: in Green Bay. Everyone always wanted Dontavian Wicks to become
- 24:15Speaker 5: a thing, and you know, Christian Watson and jayde and Reed,
- 24:17Speaker 5: but Dobbs was just the one consistently going out there,
- 24:19Speaker 5: had some big playoff games as well.
- 24:21Speaker 4: He's fine.
- 24:22Speaker 5: But you know, if we're kind of going through Dobbs
- 24:23Speaker 5: as a player, like you know, using almost like the
- 24:25Speaker 5: backyard sports backyard football terminology, where we just we just
- 24:29Speaker 5: have like the kind of five key attributes, he's a
- 24:31Speaker 5: three out of five or maybe you know, a four
- 24:33Speaker 5: out of six and pretty much everything. He's fine, jack
- 24:35Speaker 5: of all trades, master of none, type of wide receiver.
- 24:38Speaker 4: And it's good to have those guys.
- 24:39Speaker 5: But sorry, Patriots fans, like if we went through every
- 24:42Speaker 5: single team and just ranked their number one wide receiver,
- 24:45Speaker 5: like Dobbs is going to be closer to thirty two
- 24:47Speaker 5: to sixteen.
- 24:47Speaker 4: That's just the way it is. Now.
- 24:49Speaker 5: If all of a sudden we bring in AJB, and
- 24:51Speaker 5: we have AJB, we have Romeo Dobbs, and we have
- 24:53Speaker 5: Kashan Boudy, like, that's a pretty good wide receiver trio.
- 24:55Speaker 5: And I think all of a sudden, you really are
- 24:57Speaker 5: trying to make an effort to improve that. So again
- 25:00Speaker 5: against Dobb's the player much more excited about him as
- 25:02Speaker 5: a number two though number one.
- 25:03Speaker 4: So really do hope to get that AJB deal done?
- 25:06Speaker 3: Do you think that AJ Brown would have more value
- 25:08Speaker 3: staying with the Eagles, or do you think that he'd
- 25:11Speaker 3: have more value with the Patriots. I see this because
- 25:14Speaker 3: I cover the Patriots. I think the Patriots offensive line
- 25:17Speaker 3: will cause some serious issues in his production. And that's
- 25:20Speaker 3: my fear if he does wind up coming here, even
- 25:22Speaker 3: though the volume he would get would be higher, Yeah, my.
- 25:26Speaker 4: Initial thought would be chasing the better volume. Man.
- 25:29Speaker 5: You know, I'm not here as slander Jalenhurst, but I
- 25:31Speaker 5: do just think traditional drop back passing. We could feel
- 25:34Speaker 5: a little bit better about Drake May from that standpoint.
- 25:36Speaker 4: So I would lean New England.
- 25:38Speaker 5: But it is one of these things where e when
- 25:39Speaker 5: players change teams to the brand new offense.
- 25:41Speaker 4: I mean, Stephan Diggs is.
- 25:42Speaker 3: Going to be thirty twenty nine to thirty Father Times undefeated.
- 25:46Speaker 4: That these kind of a bit of a ticking time bomb.
- 25:48Speaker 5: So there is enough variables going on to you know,
- 25:51Speaker 5: make It's not like I think right now, assuming AJ
- 25:53Speaker 5: Brown's on the Eagles, I think I have him as
- 25:55Speaker 5: my wide receiver twelve or wide receiver thirteen. Maybe I
- 25:57Speaker 5: move him up a couple spots, but like, no, I'm
- 25:59Speaker 5: not going from wide receiver thirteen to all of a
- 26:01Speaker 5: sudden wide receiver five just because he's on the Patriots.
- 26:03Speaker 5: So I do like to think that, you know, reunited
- 26:06Speaker 5: with Mike Vrabel. It's a team coming off a Super
- 26:08Speaker 5: Bowl locker rooms obviously in a good position. I do
- 26:10Speaker 5: think they will be in the sort of spot to
- 26:12Speaker 5: you know, handle maybe some of Ajb's you know, cryptic
- 26:15Speaker 5: messages and stuff.
- 26:16Speaker 4: But maybe the Eagles aren't done as well. Okay, I
- 26:18Speaker 4: would love to see Ricky be right.
- 26:20Speaker 5: And now I do really respect Ricky saying stuff before
- 26:23Speaker 5: it's finalized, like every other freaking insider out there.
- 26:26Speaker 4: Who don't really give us any good rumors.
- 26:27Speaker 5: But it was interesting that the Eagles brought in Elijah Moore,
- 26:31Speaker 5: who if you guys remember, you know, best friends basically
- 26:33Speaker 5: with aj Brown, going back to their days with Ole Mis.
- 26:35Speaker 5: So maybe Philly's not going down without a fight here.
- 26:39Speaker 3: What about Mike Evans, He's been kind of a lock
- 26:41Speaker 3: for a thousand yards, lots of touchdowns to every single
- 26:44Speaker 3: season that he's been in the league. He's obviously going
- 26:46Speaker 3: out to the land of electromagnetic fields and injuries. Now,
- 26:49Speaker 3: what do you think his value looks like heading into
- 26:51Speaker 3: the season.
- 26:52Speaker 5: I think the forty nine ers landing spot is spectacular
- 26:56Speaker 5: if those freaking injury gods can just chill out for
- 26:59Speaker 5: one season.
- 27:00Speaker 4: And so again looking at it, I think Juwan Jennings
- 27:02Speaker 4: is gone.
- 27:03Speaker 5: That's kind of the one last free agent we've had
- 27:05Speaker 5: out there wondering what he's gonna do. Also seems like
- 27:07Speaker 5: again Brandon iwas plays last nap there. So that leaves
- 27:10Speaker 5: us basically with just Evans and Ricky pearsall, you know,
- 27:12Speaker 5: in terms of guys who are really going to be
- 27:14Speaker 5: demanding targets.
- 27:15Speaker 4: So I got the draft to go on, it would be.
- 27:17Speaker 5: Nice to see them add you know, more of a
- 27:18Speaker 5: yack minded slot type of dude, like God forbid, if
- 27:20Speaker 5: Makay Lemon could follow them, that would be hot casey
- 27:23Speaker 5: conception maybe a little bit more realistic there. But just
- 27:26Speaker 5: again in terms of having the opportunity, Okay, you could
- 27:28Speaker 5: be looking at one hundred and thirty plus targets easy
- 27:31Speaker 5: in San fran given you know, also Kittle being injured.
- 27:33Speaker 5: Having the quarterback Rock Purdy gets so much slander. I
- 27:36Speaker 5: don't freaking get it. Call him a system quarterback, you're wrong.
- 27:39Speaker 5: But even if you want to go ahead and do
- 27:40Speaker 5: that the.
- 27:41Speaker 4: Dude's first all time in yards per.
- 27:43Speaker 5: Attempt and passer rating, So I think the system's working
- 27:46Speaker 5: pretty well.
- 27:46Speaker 4: We could at least agree on that.
- 27:48Speaker 5: And then obviously again just being on a really good
- 27:50Speaker 5: team as we've seen them, you know, always a lock
- 27:52Speaker 5: seemingly to be content for the NFC Championship at least
- 27:55Speaker 5: whenever they got everyone healthy. So I think Evans again
- 27:57Speaker 5: father time. Some of the issues with the AJ Brown
- 28:00Speaker 5: certainly apply here too, But just Mike Evans is one
- 28:02Speaker 5: of those guys where I could see us.
- 28:03Speaker 4: All, you know, as a fantasy community ranking him.
- 28:05Speaker 5: Oh, wide receiver twenty three, wide receiver twenty four, and
- 28:08Speaker 5: then my week two we're just like, oh my god,
- 28:10Speaker 5: Mike Evans getting ten targets per game in this offense,
- 28:12Speaker 5: Like that's a top ten wide receiver right there.
- 28:14Speaker 1: That's such a good point with the system, Like I
- 28:17Speaker 1: don't think that that gets said enough that if a
- 28:20Speaker 1: guy is a system quarterback but the system is elite,
- 28:24Speaker 1: that makes him elite.
- 28:26Speaker 3: If he's elite, Mix Jones kept that team alive. It
- 28:30Speaker 3: is a I can't Mac Jones.
- 28:34Speaker 2: He kept the system, And what's.
- 28:36Speaker 5: So crazy about the mac Jones and what because if
- 28:39Speaker 5: you were, like, if you were told before the season,
- 28:40Speaker 5: like Mac Jones is gonna have a really good five games,
- 28:42Speaker 5: he'd be like, okay, well Kittle and see him seeing
- 28:44Speaker 5: these guys must have just been carrying them. Kevin Bord
- 28:47Speaker 5: was going for one hundred and forty yards in the
- 28:48Speaker 5: back to back games like all those other dudes were
- 28:50Speaker 5: still injured. But that's the other thing I will say
- 28:52Speaker 5: with Brock Perdy, I'm old enough to remember in twenty
- 28:55Speaker 5: twenty three we had those three games.
- 28:57Speaker 3: Remember three years ago?
- 28:59Speaker 4: Yeah right, uh, we're talking.
- 29:04Speaker 5: Right, But we were missing two guys in twenty twenty three,
- 29:07Speaker 5: and the offense like sputtered a little bit, and all
- 29:08Speaker 5: of a sudden, Party became this guy.
- 29:10Speaker 4: We're like, okay, you take away a playmaker. Though, on
- 29:12Speaker 4: what do you have?
- 29:12Speaker 5: These last two years, nobody has been healthy in San
- 29:15Speaker 5: fran and the passing game has largely kept on keeping on.
- 29:18Speaker 5: So again credit to Party mac Jones. Though, it's really
- 29:21Speaker 5: fun to look at the backup quarterbacks you know in
- 29:23Speaker 5: the league who maybe could find you know, greener Grass
- 29:26Speaker 5: somewhere else, and he's obviously on the top of that list.
- 29:28Speaker 5: So Mac Jones, Tanner McKee out there in Philly. I
- 29:31Speaker 5: still got my Jalen milro stock, you know, sitting behind
- 29:34Speaker 5: Darnold in Seattle. So I would be intrigued to see
- 29:36Speaker 5: where Mac Jones lands next.
- 29:37Speaker 2: True fantasy guy.
- 29:38Speaker 1: Any quarterback with some wheels never falls completely off the
- 29:42Speaker 1: radar until they we retire, that is for sure. Uh
- 29:45Speaker 1: One more on the wide receiver front. I've heard so
- 29:48Speaker 1: much hype around Luther Burden since the DJ More trade.
- 29:51Speaker 1: You think this guy was Randy Moss?
- 29:53Speaker 2: Are you in?
- 29:54Speaker 1: Or is he gotten too pricey already? Even though I
- 29:58Speaker 1: mean we're not even to April yet. I I've seen
- 30:00Speaker 1: this guy get pushed up on these Best Ball drafts,
- 30:03Speaker 1: so it just feels like a little much Where do
- 30:05Speaker 1: you land on him?
- 30:07Speaker 5: I know, man, It's just he moves at a different
- 30:10Speaker 5: speed on the field, and he can pull up the
- 30:13Speaker 5: cool advanced stats too, best yards per out run mark
- 30:16Speaker 5: of a rookie wide receiver.
- 30:17Speaker 4: Last ten years.
- 30:18Speaker 5: Smaller sample than some of those guys, but I think
- 30:21Speaker 5: I'm probably going to buy into I just think trying
- 30:23Speaker 5: to objectively, you know, use my eyes and look at
- 30:25Speaker 5: him for Shroma Dunes and even Colson Lovelin like Burden
- 30:27Speaker 5: just has that different level of ability with the football
- 30:30Speaker 5: in his hands.
- 30:31Speaker 4: Obviously that was his calling card out.
- 30:32Speaker 5: Of Missouri, so it took a while to get into
- 30:34Speaker 5: and integrated into the offense. And I do think that
- 30:37Speaker 5: you know, had a couple of injuries going on that
- 30:38Speaker 5: maybe helped them get that boom. And we also had
- 30:40Speaker 5: this tendency where Week seventeen, you know, he didn't do
- 30:43Speaker 5: much of anything kind of before or half of that,
- 30:45Speaker 5: but when you give someone one hundred and thirty eight
- 30:47Speaker 5: yards and a touchdown in the Fantasy Championship, that's going
- 30:49Speaker 5: to leave, you know, a nice little impression in everyone's mind.
- 30:52Speaker 5: So I think, just overall, even if the price is
- 30:55Speaker 5: going to be top twenty, which seems a bit outlandish,
- 30:57Speaker 5: we lost DJ Moore, which is obviously a key, you know,
- 30:59Speaker 5: target competition piece. So we've condensed this passing game from
- 31:02Speaker 5: four guys to three. I believe in Caleb Williams, I
- 31:05Speaker 5: believe in Ben Johnson. I can only see the other partnership,
- 31:07Speaker 5: you know, being that much better in hear two, So
- 31:09Speaker 5: I'm trying not to overthink it. I hear you, it
- 31:12Speaker 5: is a lot, and it's a big step, but I
- 31:15Speaker 5: think there's enough Like what would be the issue? I
- 31:18Speaker 5: guess with Luther burd it is just saying, like woll
- 31:19Speaker 5: his rookie year wasn't spectacular. It wasn't, But I still
- 31:22Speaker 5: think we know he's a really talented player. We like
- 31:24Speaker 5: the quarterback, we like to play caller, we like the offense,
- 31:26Speaker 5: and there's more targets available. I feel like the arrow
- 31:29Speaker 5: is pointing in enough correct directions to be excited here.
- 31:33Speaker 3: So I want to piggyback off of the quarterback value situation.
- 31:36Speaker 3: We saw Daniel Jones was not on anybody's radar last
- 31:40Speaker 3: year and wound up being a little bit of a
- 31:41Speaker 3: fantasy beast for a moment. Are there any of these
- 31:43Speaker 3: guys with changes of scenery that you see having value
- 31:46Speaker 3: or that you might be looking for with like a
- 31:48Speaker 3: really late round pick, or if someone's quarterback goes down?
- 31:51Speaker 3: Is it the Kylers? Is it the two Us? Is
- 31:53Speaker 3: it God forbid Gino Smith? Is there any of these
- 31:55Speaker 3: guys that you could see maybe being like a Daniel
- 31:57Speaker 3: Jones two point zero of last season?
- 32:00Speaker 5: I think the Kyler call makes a lot of sense,
- 32:02Speaker 5: and I think to a lesser extent, it's like I say,
- 32:04Speaker 5: in real life. You know, I don't expect the same
- 32:07Speaker 5: real life success out of Milik Willis in Miami. But hey,
- 32:10Speaker 5: we've seen plenty of bad real life quarterbacks still.
- 32:13Speaker 4: Be good in fantasy guys Taysom Mill and Tim Tebow.
- 32:16Speaker 5: These guys can barely throw a forward pass and guess what,
- 32:18Speaker 5: they were still fantasy rock stars as long as they
- 32:21Speaker 5: had that starting job. So it's not a given. Okay,
- 32:24Speaker 5: last season, Justin Fields proved that, yes, even on a
- 32:27Speaker 5: team with really no competition, you can still play bad
- 32:29Speaker 5: enough to get benched.
- 32:30Speaker 4: But man, Miami, I just have a hard.
- 32:32Speaker 5: Time believing they're gonna be benching Malik Willis unless just
- 32:35Speaker 5: really the wheels fall off, and if that happens, like
- 32:38Speaker 5: we just don't see these guys.
- 32:39Speaker 4: Bus. Here's the stat I got.
- 32:40Speaker 5: Since twenty fourteen, there's been thirty four quarterbacks have at
- 32:43Speaker 5: least one hundred rush attempts in the season, thirty one
- 32:46Speaker 5: of them. Ninety one percent of those quarterbacks run on
- 32:49Speaker 5: the post top twelve fantasy numbers on a per game basis.
- 32:51Speaker 5: I'm not even doing the dickhead thing where I just
- 32:54Speaker 5: take guys that played seventeen games using the total numbers.
- 32:56Speaker 5: So again, Malik Willis Kyler, they both run enough. I
- 33:00Speaker 5: think just by verdict of that they're gonna finish probably
- 33:02Speaker 5: as lower n qb ones. Now usually because everyone's kind
- 33:06Speaker 5: of wise up in this phenomenon, we see those guys
- 33:08Speaker 5: being priced as top ten quarterbacks. You gotta draft Josh
- 33:10Speaker 5: Allen Lamar Jackson in the first five rounds. I think
- 33:13Speaker 5: though Malik Willis and Kyler, we actually have a chance
- 33:15Speaker 5: to finally have these later round quarterbacks again that can't
- 33:18Speaker 5: run the football, so very excited about what both of
- 33:20Speaker 5: them could bring the table.
- 33:21Speaker 1: Well, I am drunk on Kyler in fantasy. That is
- 33:25Speaker 1: going to be my target in every.
- 33:27Speaker 3: Single fan's future.
- 33:29Speaker 1: I do seventy five to one to win the Super Bowl.
- 33:32Speaker 1: And then they went and signed Toua, so he haunts
- 33:34Speaker 1: me forever. I can't get away from this fucking guy.
- 33:37Speaker 1: All right, let's suck draft. Do you have a Raiders
- 33:39Speaker 1: hat on right now? And here we are neglecting the
- 33:42Speaker 1: fact that you're gonna get a new quarterback. Are you
- 33:43Speaker 1: a fan or do you just like the hat? By
- 33:45Speaker 1: the way, I don't want to be too presumptuous.
- 33:47Speaker 4: I just like the hat. I like rooting for the
- 33:48Speaker 4: bad guys.
- 33:49Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying, Yeah, they are. They are
- 33:52Speaker 1: the Raiders the autumn wins. Let's look Fernando Mendoza. What
- 33:55Speaker 1: does he do? I don't think we're gonna get too
- 33:57Speaker 1: pumped about drafting Mendoza, but it's more about what he
- 34:00Speaker 1: does for those options and a guy who was a
- 34:03Speaker 1: very pricey in drafts last year. And Brock Bowers, he
- 34:06Speaker 1: was a fringe first rounder and didn't really return that
- 34:09Speaker 1: level of value. Now he gets a new quarterback. So
- 34:12Speaker 1: what does Mendoza do? Is it up the stock? Down
- 34:15Speaker 1: the stock? Where are we on Bowers anybody else in
- 34:18Speaker 1: that offense?
- 34:19Speaker 5: Just obviously Gino Smith wasn't putting his best forward, best
- 34:23Speaker 5: foot forward last year, to kind of put it nicely,
- 34:25Speaker 5: But hey, offensive line, obviously Pete Carroll's son or whoever
- 34:28Speaker 5: it was leading the team like that was a disaster.
- 34:30Speaker 5: Worst offensive line in the league. Any ash and gent
- 34:33Speaker 5: fantasy manager can tell you that. And also, like you know,
- 34:35Speaker 5: when Chip Kelly's getting fired before December, I think we
- 34:37Speaker 5: can probably agree the scheme wasn't exactly in a great
- 34:40Speaker 5: spot either, so a lot of room to improve. I
- 34:42Speaker 5: think the Raiders roster I'm not saying they've gone from
- 34:44Speaker 5: you know, thirty second to first or anything like that,
- 34:46Speaker 5: but I thought they took some my steps in free agency.
- 34:49Speaker 5: As annoying as it is that the Ravens kind of
- 34:51Speaker 5: backed out of that trade, Like you get to bring
- 34:53Speaker 5: back Max Crosby, He's gonna be on anyone's short list
- 34:55Speaker 5: the best defensive players in the league. So I think
- 34:57Speaker 5: the Raiders count at least be more of a feisty
- 34:59Speaker 5: bad team what they were the previous few years before.
- 35:02Speaker 5: Obviously the bottom really fell out in twenty twenty five.
- 35:05Speaker 5: But no, that Mendoza, I know, the comps for him,
- 35:08Speaker 5: it's more like Ryan Tannehill, Kirk Cousins type of guy,
- 35:11Speaker 5: and like it's taking someone at number one who you're like, oh,
- 35:14Speaker 5: the best case you can be, you know, the eighth
- 35:16Speaker 5: and ninth best quarterback in the league is a little
- 35:18Speaker 5: bit of a you know issue getting past that. But
- 35:20Speaker 5: just I don't know, man, the six five two twenty
- 35:23Speaker 5: We know the guy can move.
- 35:24Speaker 4: A little bit.
- 35:25Speaker 5: Seeing the National championship, had some other good scrambles throughout
- 35:27Speaker 5: the year, and just this dude's confidence and ability to
- 35:30Speaker 5: take a freaking beating against Ohio state in Miami, Like
- 35:33Speaker 5: getting the living shit kicked out of him for basically
- 35:35Speaker 5: the first three to four, you know, two to three
- 35:37Speaker 5: quarters of that game and then still taking over down
- 35:39Speaker 5: the stretch really was impressive.
- 35:41Speaker 4: So I think his superpower is that back shoulder fade.
- 35:43Speaker 5: Obviously saw some from Omar Cooper and alas of Shrop,
- 35:46Speaker 5: but man, Charlie Becker, you know, get ready to hear
- 35:48Speaker 5: some white wide receiver comps from that dude next year
- 35:50Speaker 5: when he's coming out.
- 35:51Speaker 4: So a lot of really good stuff from the Indiana office.
- 35:54Speaker 5: And again it was just watching Mendozo throughout the year
- 35:56Speaker 5: consistently and so efficiently find the next guy to go to.
- 36:00Speaker 5: I think he's gonna out of minimum. Even if he
- 36:01Speaker 5: doesn't make this offense, you know, from worse to first
- 36:04Speaker 5: or anything, I think he's going to raise the floor
- 36:06Speaker 5: so much. And if we do have a situation where
- 36:08Speaker 5: all right, they gave Jalen Naylor thirty six million dollars, like,
- 36:10Speaker 5: I think it's gonna be a below average offense, but
- 36:14Speaker 5: we're gonna have such condensed volume around Bowers and genty
- 36:17Speaker 5: that's probably gonna be fine.
- 36:18Speaker 4: Even last year, guys, disaster.
- 36:20Speaker 5: Worst case scenario quarterback play in the offense, Bowers was
- 36:24Speaker 5: still the tight end two in fantasy points per game
- 36:26Speaker 5: genty Like, think about how bad everything went, he was
- 36:29Speaker 5: still a top fifteen running back out there. So that's
- 36:31Speaker 5: again when we have that much volume going to two guys, like,
- 36:34Speaker 5: you don't even need to be this great offense for
- 36:36Speaker 5: still to kind of work out on fantasy line.
- 36:38Speaker 3: I get so much of the draft is where guys go,
- 36:41Speaker 3: But is there any guy in this draft that it
- 36:43Speaker 3: does not matter where he winds up you're looking to
- 36:46Speaker 3: snag them?
- 36:48Speaker 4: This Jordan Tyson.
- 36:49Speaker 5: I know the injury guys have been, you know, not
- 36:51Speaker 5: nice to him last three full seasons as unfortunately ended
- 36:54Speaker 5: on the sideline, But just why I look at Carnell
- 36:56Speaker 5: Tate's like, all right, great outside field stretcher, wide receiver.
- 37:00Speaker 5: There have some questions if he can go from being
- 37:01Speaker 5: overqualified two to a one. I think there's like certain
- 37:04Speaker 5: teams I'd be more excited about the Makaia Lemon, Like
- 37:06Speaker 5: you kind of want a team willing to feature a
- 37:08Speaker 5: number one.
- 37:09Speaker 4: Wide receiver from the slot.
- 37:10Speaker 5: We've seen plenty of them, obviously, the Amanas Saint Brown comps,
- 37:13Speaker 5: Like it's very possible but just with Tyson, he wins
- 37:16Speaker 5: in the slot, he wins on the outside six to
- 37:18Speaker 5: two hundred. He hasn't been able to test, but he
- 37:20Speaker 5: is just so freaking twitchy with every single thing he
- 37:22Speaker 5: does out there. I do not think you can name
- 37:24Speaker 5: an NFL team where Jordan Tyson wouldn't immediately come in,
- 37:27Speaker 5: be a starter and through wide receiver sets and help
- 37:29Speaker 5: out in a major way. So going back to the Dolphins,
- 37:32Speaker 5: man would love to see him go there, get one
- 37:34Speaker 5: hundred and fifty targets and have no issues from day one.
- 37:36Speaker 5: But even if it's a Washington, New Orleans, Kansas City,
- 37:39Speaker 5: Los Angeles Rams, again, I just think all these teams
- 37:42Speaker 5: would kill to have someone like Jordan Tyson. And maybe
- 37:44Speaker 5: I'm just a sucker for the you know, twitchy separation
- 37:48Speaker 5: route running ability, and maybe Tyson does a little bit
- 37:50Speaker 5: almost extra flare of that that he needs to out there.
- 37:53Speaker 5: But I see like an excel Deontay Johnson, I see
- 37:56Speaker 5: a gen z Amari Cooper here. Just guys, where again
- 37:58Speaker 5: zone man coverage are like they're gonna win against whoever's
- 38:01Speaker 5: in front of him.
- 38:02Speaker 1: Another old man gets a mention here on the podcast
- 38:04Speaker 1: and Amari Cooper, what about the guy at the top
- 38:07Speaker 1: of the draft in terms of the offensive fantasy weaponry
- 38:11Speaker 1: and Jeremiah Love? Kendrick said, who do you like? No
- 38:13Speaker 1: matter where they land, I would think Jeremiah Love might
- 38:16Speaker 1: be on that list. But is there a spot at
- 38:19Speaker 1: the top of the draft. It doesn't look like he's
- 38:21Speaker 1: gonna fall out of the top twelve at this point,
- 38:23Speaker 1: top ten, maybe even top five with the stem that
- 38:26Speaker 1: he's getting.
- 38:27Speaker 2: Is there a place you want to see him end up?
- 38:30Speaker 4: Washington? I think would be best. I mean him and
- 38:32Speaker 4: jayde Daniels.
- 38:32Speaker 5: That's one of the more electric rushing backfields that you know,
- 38:35Speaker 5: you can even dream of there.
- 38:36Speaker 4: And obviously there's not much going on there. I can't.
- 38:39Speaker 5: We are so just deprived of news. I guess that
- 38:41Speaker 5: we freak out over everything in March, which is fine,
- 38:43Speaker 5: but like where shab White got what one year, two
- 38:45Speaker 5: million dollars deal, and we had to spend all freaking
- 38:48Speaker 5: week talking about you know that impact, We're shab White like,
- 38:50Speaker 5: who knows if he's even gonna have a role in
- 38:51Speaker 5: this rotation here going on? So Washington is that one
- 38:54Speaker 5: backfield that just continues to be completely wide open. The
- 38:57Speaker 5: Saints obviously brought an ETN Like we talked about Chiefs
- 39:00Speaker 5: want Ahead and Brian Kenneth Walker. So those were kind
- 39:02Speaker 5: of the three spots where it's like, okay, well, any
- 39:05Speaker 5: of those would be fantastic because we could actually have
- 39:07Speaker 5: some belief in those offenses. And they had the running
- 39:09Speaker 5: back hole and now it really is just Washington. So
- 39:12Speaker 5: Tennessee at four a situation where Pollard and they would
- 39:15Speaker 5: you would think, probably just cut him at that point
- 39:17Speaker 5: if they decided to draft Jeremiah Love, his contract is
- 39:19Speaker 5: set up that way for them to do if they want.
- 39:21Speaker 5: I will say, Giants are Browns. I don't know how
- 39:26Speaker 5: likely it is he goes there, but going to New
- 39:28Speaker 5: York Giants wouldn't be ideal. That could be more of
- 39:30Speaker 5: a boom and zoom situation with Scattabuy, like Scataboo does
- 39:33Speaker 5: enough good things around the goal line. Also just as
- 39:35Speaker 5: a complete player in the passing game. That that would
- 39:37Speaker 5: be the one part where it's like, all of a sudden,
- 39:38Speaker 5: we sit down for the projections and Jeremiah loves looking
- 39:41Speaker 5: a little bit closer, you know, two hundred and fifty
- 39:43Speaker 5: two hundred and fifty touches as opposed to the three
- 39:45Speaker 5: to fifty who we might get elsewhere. So we've seen
- 39:47Speaker 5: this man like Jamier Gibbs and you know, going number twelve,
- 39:50Speaker 5: the Lion splitting with Montgomery. Even Bjohn Robinson couldn't get
- 39:52Speaker 5: three hundred touches as a rookie playing next to Tyler.
- 39:55Speaker 2: I was here.
- 39:56Speaker 5: So the Giants will be the one spot where yeah,
- 39:58Speaker 5: sure he's gonna help the football team be, but just
- 40:00Speaker 5: from a you know, pure workload standpoint, I don't think
- 40:03Speaker 5: it'd be as ideal as somewhere like Washington.
- 40:05Speaker 3: Final question from me. I know that you clock some
- 40:08Speaker 3: tea online from time to time because I see your tweets.
- 40:12Speaker 3: I am not a McAfee girl, but I'm actually gonna
- 40:14Speaker 3: give credit where credit is due. He called Orlovsky out
- 40:17Speaker 3: for pushing the ty Simpson agenda yesterday. Is ty Simpson
- 40:21Speaker 3: really the shit? Is he the number two quarterback in
- 40:23Speaker 3: this draft? I think it's Garrett nas Meyer. But you
- 40:25Speaker 3: know what, I'll give credit where credit is due. Is
- 40:27Speaker 3: this just someone is paying him to say things? Or
- 40:31Speaker 3: is this just a hot take for hot take's sake?
- 40:34Speaker 4: I don't think anyone's actually paying him.
- 40:36Speaker 5: I've seen the whole like, Okay, they got the same
- 40:37Speaker 5: agency and that stuff going on.
- 40:39Speaker 4: But I don't know.
- 40:40Speaker 5: I think Orlowski watches ball and he's trying to say
- 40:42Speaker 5: that the interview with McAfee wasn't the best, like trying
- 40:44Speaker 5: to say Mendoza didn't play in big gameshever.
- 40:46Speaker 3: That I was crazy.
- 40:47Speaker 2: Okay, that was really it was crazy, But he just
- 40:50Speaker 2: get he just got caught, heated.
- 40:51Speaker 1: We've all been there, but that was that was a
- 40:54Speaker 1: wild thing to say.
- 40:55Speaker 5: But you know, in his defense, you know, I think
- 40:57Speaker 5: we've all said some stupid things as well, but we're
- 40:59Speaker 5: not talking on the Pat mcafie show, so maybe they
- 41:01Speaker 5: don't get elevated quite the same way.
- 41:03Speaker 4: So I will say.
- 41:04Speaker 5: It's in I don't even I don't mind the nuss
- 41:07Speaker 5: Meyer call at all because you watch back, especially in
- 41:09Speaker 5: twenty twenty four, and that dude was doing some amazing things,
- 41:11Speaker 5: some big reasons why he was on top of the
- 41:14Speaker 5: way too early mock drafts. But that was also kind
- 41:16Speaker 5: of the case for Ty Simpson. I love Dan Brugler.
- 41:18Speaker 5: I think he's probably the best in the business of
- 41:20Speaker 5: what he does and everything. And if you go look
- 41:22Speaker 5: at the end of October, I mean, in his way
- 41:23Speaker 5: too early big board, he had Ty Simpson as QB
- 41:26Speaker 5: one because those first seven eight games last year were incredible.
- 41:30Speaker 4: I mean, the Wisconsin film was freaking ridiculous.
- 41:32Speaker 5: He went ahead beat Georgia in Athens, like that's an
- 41:34Speaker 5: incredible win. Even some of the stuff he did against
- 41:36Speaker 5: Tennessee was really good as well. And when we see
- 41:39Speaker 5: a big drop off, we have to ask why, and
- 41:42Speaker 5: it goes right hand in hand with the injuries that
- 41:44Speaker 5: he was dealing with during the second half of that
- 41:45Speaker 5: season at Bama. So it's a weird player evaluation because
- 41:48Speaker 5: he's an older prospect, but he doesn't have the experience.
- 41:50Speaker 4: He's not going to completely blow you away with the
- 41:52Speaker 4: physical traits.
- 41:53Speaker 5: But this was still a five star quarterback who al
- 41:56Speaker 5: freaking Bama thought enough of to go ahead and lead
- 41:58Speaker 5: their team, you know from multiple Yeah, he couldn't beat
- 42:01Speaker 5: out Jalen Milroe, still a third round pick and someone
- 42:04Speaker 5: with all the tools in the world. So Ty Simpson
- 42:06Speaker 5: for me my QB two. I got Mendoza QB one.
- 42:09Speaker 5: But I don't think it's a ludicrous thought to think
- 42:12Speaker 5: that Simpson could eventually, you know, have a better overall
- 42:15Speaker 5: NFL career. So I'll give you know, a slight edge
- 42:18Speaker 5: to Orblawski there, but there are a few quarterbacks thus myer.
- 42:21Speaker 5: I don't think Drew Aller is good at football, but
- 42:23Speaker 5: you know a lot of these QB scout guys like
- 42:25Speaker 5: some of the.
- 42:25Speaker 4: Things he does.
