- 0:00Speaker 1: You're listening to Bill Handle on demand from KFI AM
- 0:04Speaker 1: six forty.
- 0:09Speaker 2: I know, and now Handle on the news. Ladies and gentlemen,
- 0:17Speaker 2: here's Bill Handle. Good morning, everybody handle here. All right,
- 0:24Speaker 2: it is a humpdo Wednesday, December tenth, fifteen more days
- 0:28Speaker 2: till that magical day. Four more days until that kind
- 0:34Speaker 2: of magical day. And we're talking about Christmas and of
- 0:37Speaker 2: course Honika respectively. By the way, Hankkah is a really
- 0:41Speaker 2: minor ceremony. You know that. It's a really minor just
- 0:47Speaker 2: you know, it's just it's it doesn't mean much. And
- 0:50Speaker 2: the only reason that it's given its import as a
- 0:53Speaker 2: holiday is because it's right next to Christmas, because Jews
- 0:57Speaker 2: have no self esteem and it had to do with
- 1:01Speaker 2: all right, it's a sop, all right, Yeah, Christians have Christmas. Okay,
- 1:04Speaker 2: we'll give you Honkkah. We have one song, one song
- 1:08Speaker 2: Rade Old, raid Old, Raid Old, and then you have
- 1:11Speaker 2: the song oh that, but that's Adam Sandler. That doesn't
- 1:15Speaker 2: count as a traditional song, which, by the way, on Honkkah,
- 1:19Speaker 2: we have to play the Adam Sandler Honikah song. All right,
- 1:23Speaker 2: cono uh put that in the calendar, all right, that
- 1:27Speaker 2: is going to be our bump on the fourteenth. When
- 1:29Speaker 2: is the fourteenth? Oh my god, it's is it over
- 1:31Speaker 2: the weekend? That's cramps. It doesn't matter because we have
- 1:36Speaker 2: eight days. We have eight days. We have eight days
- 1:37Speaker 2: to have a good time. And we're just hitting eight
- 1:41Speaker 2: crazy nights, so you get christ that's true, eight days
- 1:44Speaker 2: and eight nights. And I'm getting my honka bush together
- 1:46Speaker 2: and I'll post that. So we have a Honka bush
- 1:49Speaker 2: and we have a Christmas tree, all right. And then
- 1:56Speaker 2: I was going to get a third Christmas tree, but
- 1:58Speaker 2: instead I looked on the internet at and we're looking
- 2:01Speaker 2: at some Satanists. So we're gonna get We're going to
- 2:03Speaker 2: get a doll uh that looks like a baby, and
- 2:06Speaker 2: we're gonna, you know, put it where never mind, I'm
- 2:10Speaker 2: not going to go into the satan jokes. All right,
- 2:13Speaker 2: let me say hello to one and all morning.
- 2:16Speaker 1: Neil, Good morning, Willie wolf Esquire.
- 2:19Speaker 2: Yes, sir, and Amy, Hi Bill. Oh how unusual you're
- 2:24Speaker 2: now wearing a I don't know, is that a hoodie
- 2:28Speaker 2: or of course Disney Lean.
- 2:29Speaker 3: Of course, and candy cane spirit jersey.
- 2:33Speaker 2: Yes, yeah, but that's kind of neat. It's a sort
- 2:37Speaker 2: of a relief of of Mickey there done. Yeah, it's nice.
- 2:43Speaker 2: I like it. Yeah, no, it's it's it's different. Uh
- 2:46Speaker 2: and then no, it is, well not for you, I
- 2:49Speaker 2: mean anything, Disney. I'm surprised. I can't wait for you
- 2:52Speaker 2: to come in in Mickey Mouse ears, which I'm sure
- 2:55Speaker 2: you have dozens of them. Uh. And we'll take a
- 2:57Speaker 2: picture of it and post it. Okay, there's Will, good morning,
- 3:02Speaker 2: Good morning Bill, and Ann is there? Good morning Bill,
- 3:06Speaker 2: Good morning. It looks like you're wearing a bathrobe. What
- 3:09Speaker 2: did I say to you guys earlier?
- 3:11Speaker 3: You just said that, doesn't it look like I'm wearing
- 3:12Speaker 3: a rope?
- 3:13Speaker 2: Yeah, it's a spider. Yeah, I didn't hear that. It
- 3:19Speaker 2: is past delly, Cono. I can't see you at all.
- 3:22Speaker 2: I don't know what's going on with the with the zoom.
- 3:25Speaker 1: It's not different from yesterday.
- 3:27Speaker 2: Oh there you are, okay, got no, no, no, no,
- 3:29Speaker 2: that was that was Cono's fault. What we are going
- 3:32Speaker 2: to do is today, as always, we try as hard
- 3:36Speaker 2: as we can not to do a Trump story. I
- 3:38Speaker 2: think today there's only one. But I think we're going
- 3:41Speaker 2: to add a segment either weekly or twice weekly. And
- 3:48Speaker 2: it's going to be this episode of Crazy. And we
- 3:52Speaker 2: have one of those coming up at where uh it's
- 3:58Speaker 2: oh at eight o'clock, this eppisode of Crazy and it
- 4:02Speaker 2: has to do with the State Department and it is
- 4:05Speaker 2: absolutely delicious. Also this episode of Crazy, another one a
- 4:08Speaker 2: medical episode of Crazy. We're going to do with doctor
- 4:11Speaker 2: Jim Keeney today. All right, we've all said, hello, anything
- 4:14Speaker 2: new in the world, let me see, not really, not really.
- 4:21Speaker 2: I'm preparing for Chaunka and Christmas and have you got
- 4:27Speaker 2: ye christmakud? That's true, that's part of it too. And
- 4:30Speaker 2: I've gotten my gifts if you were out of the way,
- 4:34Speaker 2: and I believe me it for me, it's real easy.
- 4:38Speaker 2: I just what I give is a little bit of
- 4:40Speaker 2: money to everybody. And here here's your five bucks. And
- 4:43Speaker 2: this year, because of Lin's there's actually a card with
- 4:47Speaker 2: a nice state a nice card with some writing saying, yeah,
- 4:53Speaker 2: I know I got disgusting.
- 4:55Speaker 1: All right, so you called me fat mine? Uh she
- 4:59Speaker 1: was very nice.
- 5:00Speaker 4: Uh yeah, Well okay, it's you're a big, big, big,
- 5:04Speaker 4: big part of the show.
- 5:06Speaker 2: I did that I actually did to be honest with you,
- 5:12Speaker 2: and so it was it's really easy and then at
- 5:14Speaker 2: the memo, i'd go happy holidays, I'm done. You know.
- 5:17Speaker 2: Sometimes not even an envelope. Hey, I also for birthdays
- 5:23Speaker 2: or not that I do it very often, but it's
- 5:26Speaker 2: you know, it's gift cards, but not gift cards to
- 5:28Speaker 2: a particular store or restaurant. It's just here, here's a
- 5:32Speaker 2: visa card, leave me alone. And I think those are
- 5:34Speaker 2: by far the best gifts. Wedding gifts. Yeah, you're better
- 5:38Speaker 2: off giving just uh, you know, cash. They do that
- 5:41Speaker 2: at at weddings, when you have ethnic weddings, that's what
- 5:45Speaker 2: they tend to do is here's some here's some cash.
- 5:48Speaker 2: Enjoy yourself. All right, guys, are you ready to do it? Yes?
- 5:53Speaker 2: Or yes? On that? Thank you? Okay, easy, peasy, here
- 5:57Speaker 2: we go. It's handle on the news with Amy Neil
- 6:00Speaker 2: and Me lead story.
- 6:02Speaker 3: Everything is.
- 6:05Speaker 2: All right, approaching crazy. The President is doing an interview
- 6:11Speaker 2: and he is asked he's on Fox and Friends and
- 6:15Speaker 2: he is asked, how is the economy. Give the economy
- 6:19Speaker 2: a grade? And he said a plus plus plus plus
- 6:25Speaker 2: plus I think, followed with five pluses. A with five pluses.
- 6:30Speaker 2: Now this is and of course during the conversation, prices
- 6:34Speaker 2: are down and that gets kind of interesting when you
- 6:37Speaker 2: go to the grocery store. It takes a real Maga
- 6:40Speaker 2: supporter to walk in and pay three dollars more a
- 6:44Speaker 2: pound for meat or a steak and say prices are down.
- 6:49Speaker 2: When I paid three dollars down from today than it was,
- 6:56Speaker 2: then I guess that's true. And so I'll tell you
- 6:58Speaker 2: where we're going to go with this. Ok we've gone
- 7:01Speaker 2: from prices. We're going to be cutting half day one
- 7:04Speaker 2: that no one believed. And that's puffery, by the way.
- 7:07Speaker 2: I mean I didn't take that seriously. That's just Donald Trump,
- 7:10Speaker 2: you know, Okay, and only the super Maga believers. Oh yeah,
- 7:15Speaker 2: oh yeah, yeah. The price is going to be cut
- 7:17Speaker 2: in half day one. Now more, I think logical is
- 7:21Speaker 2: I'm going to bring prices down, which never happened. And
- 7:26Speaker 2: since voters vote with their wallets, I mean that is
- 7:29Speaker 2: number one by a long shot. It's now getting to
- 7:35Speaker 2: it's Joe Biden who's causing all of these problems, and
- 7:41Speaker 2: that's that's going thin. That is that's getting a little
- 7:44Speaker 2: thin because we're a year in and the election is
- 7:48Speaker 2: going to be two years in, and you can only
- 7:50Speaker 2: blame Biden so much for the problems are going on.
- 7:54Speaker 2: By the way, that's not to say that Biden didn't.
- 7:57Speaker 2: I don't know if he caused the the prices to
- 8:01Speaker 2: go up. And I don't think the president is responsible
- 8:04Speaker 2: for prices going up. I think there's a lot more
- 8:07Speaker 2: to that. It's much much more complicated than just the
- 8:11Speaker 2: policy of any given president. But you're going to see
- 8:14Speaker 2: Biden being blamed more and more, and you're going to
- 8:18Speaker 2: see and the president is really it's a mixed message,
- 8:21Speaker 2: which I really don't get. Prices are down yet Joe
- 8:25Speaker 2: Biden was responsible for prices being up and prices are
- 8:29Speaker 2: down because I'm causing prices to go down and you
- 8:33Speaker 2: look and you go, wait a minute, I'm paying more.
- 8:37Speaker 2: So it's I think it's going to hurt the Republican Party.
- 8:41Speaker 2: This one is going to sting. I really believe that. Okay,
- 8:44Speaker 2: moving on, Oh it's my.
- 8:47Speaker 3: Turn, I know, yeah, it is, I know, Okay, The
- 8:49Speaker 3: head of LOSSA says so long. The chief executive of
- 8:54Speaker 3: the Los Angeles County Affordable Housing Solutions Agency LASA as
- 8:59Speaker 3: A resigned from a government oversight board during a federal
- 9:03Speaker 3: investigation into some real estate dealings several weeks ago. The
- 9:11Speaker 3: Wine Guard Center CEO Kevin Murray was placed on leave
- 9:17Speaker 3: and his director of real estate development, Ben Rosen, was
- 9:20Speaker 3: also put on leave while the nonprofit conducted an internal
- 9:23Speaker 3: review into its housing projects. Just the latest in a
- 9:26Speaker 3: string of problems with LUST.
- 9:27Speaker 2: Because it's horrible, Yeah, because it is horrible, because it
- 9:30Speaker 2: is corrupt as hell. And I think the analogy here
- 9:34Speaker 2: is when COVID hit and when remember the deep Water Horizon,
- 9:39Speaker 2: when it blew up in the Gulf of Mexico. What
- 9:43Speaker 2: VP that owned it had to do was just start
- 9:46Speaker 2: writing checks like crazy and the fraud was unbelievable. Same
- 9:50Speaker 2: thing with a housing crisis. Karen Bass goes in sees
- 9:54Speaker 2: a legitimate problem with a high housing crisis, and now
- 9:57Speaker 2: the checks just start getting written, very little oversight, and
- 10:01Speaker 2: of course there is corruption up and down. This one
- 10:04Speaker 2: is a little bit tougher because the accusation is people
- 10:09Speaker 2: within the organization are making lots of money and they
- 10:14Speaker 2: are corrupt. So no surprise, by the way, no surprise.
- 10:18Speaker 2: And the other side of it, though, is do you
- 10:20Speaker 2: you set up governmental authorities to oversee the money that's
- 10:25Speaker 2: being spent. Well, that takes time to do, that is
- 10:28Speaker 2: not easy. You have to establish bureaucracies, you have to
- 10:31Speaker 2: train people, you have to have accountants coming in, and
- 10:34Speaker 2: therefore money is not being spent while you're setting up
- 10:37Speaker 2: the oversight. And again COVID, how you don't have time
- 10:41Speaker 2: to set up oversight useless.
- 10:46Speaker 4: Sorry, then the money's useless because in the pockets of
- 10:50Speaker 4: people that don't deserve it, not.
- 10:52Speaker 2: All of it, not all of it, but the amount
- 10:54Speaker 2: of fraud, I mean during a COVID it was just
- 10:57Speaker 2: astronomical the amount of fraud thating on. And so there's
- 11:02Speaker 2: you know, which way do you go on that. Do
- 11:04Speaker 2: you accept corruption or do you accept people not getting
- 11:07Speaker 2: the benefits.
- 11:08Speaker 1: They're not getting the benefits.
- 11:09Speaker 4: Either way they are getting the benefits, they are not
- 11:12Speaker 4: getting the benefits.
- 11:13Speaker 2: So every dime, neil, every dime that's in this program
- 11:16Speaker 2: doesn't go to the homeless.
- 11:20Speaker 4: Monica Councilwoman Monica Rodriguez sounded this alarm over a year ago,
- 11:25Speaker 4: not arguing that there it is not going to where
- 11:29Speaker 4: it needs to go, okay at all?
- 11:32Speaker 2: All Right, so the story that these thousands of homeless
- 11:37Speaker 2: shelters and beds have been built is false because every
- 11:41Speaker 2: dime has gone to corruption.
- 11:44Speaker 4: How come the actual number of people that they keep
- 11:47Speaker 4: saying in City Hall are off the streets is almost
- 11:51Speaker 4: to the number of the amount of people that die each.
- 11:55Speaker 1: Day on the streets. Okay, so you know where are
- 11:59Speaker 1: they going?
- 12:00Speaker 2: I understand. So your point is not a dime goes
- 12:02Speaker 2: to housing. It is all stolen people in them. It's
- 12:08Speaker 2: they're not in there. Okay, how many people? Okay, how
- 12:11Speaker 2: many people? So it is I'm not arguing that, but
- 12:15Speaker 2: you have taken it to an extreme. You are taking
- 12:18Speaker 2: it to an neil. You're taking it to an extreme.
- 12:22Speaker 2: It's corruption. Yes, their beds empty, but there is money
- 12:26Speaker 2: that's actually being spent appropriately. There is now is the
- 12:30Speaker 2: corruption too much? Oh? You bet? You bet. You and
- 12:33Speaker 2: I don't disagree on that one, but I don't think
- 12:36Speaker 2: it's it's as bad as you portrayed it. That there
- 12:40Speaker 2: nobody's moving in. There is no housing. It's all a myth.
- 12:45Speaker 2: So anyway, let's move on. You and I can disagree,
- 12:48Speaker 2: and just because you're wrong, you know, I understand you're
- 12:51Speaker 2: part of the show.
- 12:51Speaker 4: All right, jubulant skies. I believe that's what we were
- 13:01Speaker 4: just listening to. Famous opera singer was found with critical
- 13:04Speaker 4: injuries consistent with a stabbing and then pronounced dead at
- 13:08Speaker 4: the scene. Mica Sky's the victim's son, was found inside
- 13:12Speaker 4: the home was later taken into custody. So the suspect
- 13:15Speaker 4: there the sun will be booked for homicide and the
- 13:19Speaker 4: case will be presented to a Los Angeles county.
- 13:21Speaker 2: And he has a mental illness. We're hearing that that
- 13:24Speaker 2: the son has all kinds of mental problems and they
- 13:28Speaker 2: knew there was a big problem when the police recalled
- 13:30Speaker 2: because he was singing for help in a bass voice.
- 13:36Speaker 2: That is too soon for that, isn't no, of course not,
- 13:40Speaker 2: that's a little bit too soon, Okay, moving on?
- 13:46Speaker 3: Could this be a harbinger of things to come? Eileen
- 13:50Speaker 3: Higgins has won an election and become Miami's first Democratic
- 13:56Speaker 3: mayor in thirty years. She's also the first woman to
- 14:00Speaker 3: be mayor and first non Hispanic candidate since the nineties.
- 14:05Speaker 3: She was elected. She's a former county commissioner. This adds
- 14:08Speaker 3: to a string of Democratic wins across the US that
- 14:10Speaker 3: have served to highlight the growing level of resistance to
- 14:14Speaker 3: President Trump in his second term. Significant to note that
- 14:18Speaker 3: Miami Dade has a big immigrant population and it voted
- 14:22Speaker 3: for Trump in historic numbers in twenty twenty four.
- 14:25Speaker 2: Yeah, bigarearely not anymore a big Hispanic population huge. As
- 14:30Speaker 2: a matter of fact, the entire population of Miami Dade
- 14:36Speaker 2: consists of two groups. That's it, one Cuban Hispanics and
- 14:40Speaker 2: the other one full of my mother old Jewish yentas
- 14:43Speaker 2: that won't shut up.
- 14:46Speaker 4: Men in black sox sandals and Bermuda shortz.
- 14:50Speaker 2: Yeah, pretty much screaming Mimi. Ver's the pool, Veter's the pool. Okay,
- 14:56Speaker 2: just a quick word about this. This is not voting
- 14:59Speaker 2: well for Republicans because if you look at what's going
- 15:04Speaker 2: on in local elections, governor's elections that just happened. The
- 15:08Speaker 2: Democrats are sweeping so far. So we'll see what the
- 15:12Speaker 2: midterms are like. That's going to be the litmus test.
- 15:15Speaker 4: The midterms not the midterms usually go it gives to
- 15:19Speaker 4: the party.
- 15:19Speaker 2: Yeah, generally they do. Yeah, generally they do. And it's
- 15:22Speaker 2: just a question of numbers. Obama got killed in the
- 15:26Speaker 2: midterms in his first midterms, so he did all of
- 15:29Speaker 2: his work during the first two years. Actually, that's when
- 15:32Speaker 2: a president has powers. The first two years. After that,
- 15:35Speaker 2: he's actually considered a lame duck. And so we'll see
- 15:40Speaker 2: what happens in these midterms. Trump has just changed the
- 15:44Speaker 2: formula completely, so we'll see. I think he's going to
- 15:48Speaker 2: have As long as he has Congress behind him right
- 15:51Speaker 2: to the very last day of his presidency, he will
- 15:53Speaker 2: have enormous power, unlike other presidents.
- 15:57Speaker 4: Anna Heiser Bush, you know, you're driving off the four
- 16:00Speaker 4: or five there and you see it. It's actually pretty
- 16:03Speaker 4: lit up at night, investing millions of bucks in its
- 16:07Speaker 4: brewery there in Van Eys, and that is good. That
- 16:10Speaker 4: means job security, high quality products coming out of southern California,
- 16:14Speaker 4: which is great money back into the local economy. And
- 16:18Speaker 4: this is all preparing to host the twenty twenty six
- 16:21Speaker 4: World Cup at twenty twenty eight Summer Olympics. You got
- 16:24Speaker 4: to love when when local government and companies start spit
- 16:29Speaker 4: shining things not for us.
- 16:31Speaker 2: You know, it used to be Bush Bush Gardens before
- 16:34Speaker 2: they right off, remember that, Yeah, years and years ago,
- 16:38Speaker 2: and then they converted it to manufacturing the brewery, and
- 16:43Speaker 2: now they're expanding the brewery.
- 16:44Speaker 4: So you ever looked at some of the rides that
- 16:46Speaker 4: they had there that would no longer be legal. It's
- 16:50Speaker 4: like a broken glass pit for the kids.
- 16:53Speaker 2: It was. Don't forget the parrots flying around attacking people's heads.
- 16:58Speaker 2: Its yeah, people's eyeballs. I think, okay, a story that
- 17:07Speaker 2: Neil Wood is loving Amy, but you're taking it.
- 17:12Speaker 3: Affordability is all the buzz for the La City Council.
- 17:15Speaker 3: The council has voted unanimously to adopt the Affordable Housing
- 17:19Speaker 3: Streamlining Ordinance. Under the ordinance, developers will get fast tracked
- 17:23Speaker 3: city approval for projects that include affordable housing. Reviews for
- 17:28Speaker 3: these products projects rather typically take six to nine months,
- 17:32Speaker 3: but under this new directive, they will be required to
- 17:36Speaker 3: be approved within sixty days.
- 17:39Speaker 2: Keep you seeing, oversight will either disappear or be seriously limited.
- 17:45Speaker 2: So we'll see, they just won't have the time.
- 17:48Speaker 4: And I think I just saw a bunch of people
- 17:50Speaker 4: on Sunset Boulevard living in these ordinances, beautiful these ordinances
- 17:56Speaker 4: or lavish and really.
- 17:59Speaker 2: Helping them all, right, Pope Leo news and then we'll
- 18:01Speaker 2: take a break. The Pope.
- 18:03Speaker 4: Pope Leo, he insisted Tuesday, talking about everything going on
- 18:08Speaker 4: with Ukraine and Russia. He says that Europe must have
- 18:13Speaker 4: a role in any Ukraine peace deal. Of course, this
- 18:16Speaker 4: comes at the criticism of Trump and his administration for
- 18:22Speaker 4: what he says is efforts to break apart the longstanding
- 18:26Speaker 4: US European alliance.
- 18:28Speaker 2: Yeah, as he is American. His favorite drink Pepsi because
- 18:32Speaker 2: he is known as Pope Sicola. Okay, I've used that
- 18:36Speaker 2: one before, by the way, and I didn't think it
- 18:39Speaker 2: was funny the first six times, and so Amasa.
- 18:42Speaker 1: Was the first two times.
- 18:45Speaker 2: Okay, fair enough. You know, sometimes I actually say something original,
- 18:50Speaker 2: you know that, not kono shaking his head. Not very often,
- 18:55Speaker 2: but occasionally I do.
- 18:57Speaker 3: No foul play. The death of former Senator Mitt Romney's
- 19:01Speaker 3: sister in law has been ruled a suicide. You may
- 19:04Speaker 3: remember that Carrie Romney from Valencia died from blunt traumatic
- 19:10Speaker 3: injuries after falling from the rooftop of a parking structure
- 19:13Speaker 3: in Valencia. That happened last fall. In October, the medical
- 19:20Speaker 3: examiner ruled that it was a suicide.
- 19:22Speaker 2: Yeah. Originally a story came out that she jumped took
- 19:25Speaker 2: a swan dive off the parking structure at Disneyland, singing
- 19:29Speaker 2: It's a small world all the way down.
- 19:32Speaker 3: Then this did not happen at Disneyland too soon?
- 19:37Speaker 2: Huh?
- 19:39Speaker 3: All right, more news you're in a grizzly mood today
- 19:43Speaker 3: and smiling.
- 19:44Speaker 2: I'm actually in a great move today. That Voulder.
- 19:51Speaker 4: The more death stories, the happier he gets. Well, if
- 19:55Speaker 4: you're a richie rich in Russia with a Porsche, that
- 19:59Speaker 4: Porsche is not working, could you imagine having a portion
- 20:02Speaker 4: It just gets bricked. So apparently they have this system
- 20:07Speaker 4: it's satellite based that's supposed to protect cars against theft.
- 20:12Speaker 4: But all of a sudden, all the Porsches in Russia
- 20:17Speaker 4: stopped working. So it's under investigation. But it doesn't matter
- 20:21Speaker 4: what the cause is. It's compounded by the invasion of
- 20:25Speaker 4: Ukraine because Porsche stopped supporting its vehicles in Russian twenty
- 20:30Speaker 4: twenty two. No statements whether it's ties into that or not,
- 20:35Speaker 4: but ultimately they have been cut off from the satellite connection.
- 20:38Speaker 2: Does this sound like a hack?
- 20:41Speaker 1: Yeah, it could be sure.
- 20:42Speaker 2: Yeah, well, coming out in Crane, some of the greatest
- 20:44Speaker 2: hackers are out of Ukraine.
- 20:48Speaker 1: It's not a bad skill to have on your side.
- 20:51Speaker 2: I mean it used to be that. Oh yeah. As
- 20:54Speaker 2: a matter of fact, before hacking became the big thing,
- 20:58Speaker 2: The beginning of hack came out of Ukraine. Still you
- 21:03Speaker 2: can hire hackers like crazy and they're cheap relative to hackers.
- 21:09Speaker 3: Here, college students are going to have to pay back
- 21:14Speaker 3: their student loans. Former President Biden's signature student loan repayment
- 21:19Speaker 3: program is known as Saving on a Valuable Education or
- 21:23Speaker 3: Save is Dead. If approved by the courts, the settlement
- 21:27Speaker 3: will require no new borrowers are enrolled in the program,
- 21:31Speaker 3: which based monthly bills on borrowers' incomes and was hailed
- 21:35Speaker 3: by the Biden administration as the most affordable student loan
- 21:38Speaker 3: repayment option in history.
- 21:41Speaker 2: Yeah, A couple of things about that one. One, I
- 21:44Speaker 2: think it was a directive that Biden did this. So
- 21:49Speaker 2: the argument is that the Congress had to approve it,
- 21:52Speaker 2: and so we don't know that. And I think if
- 21:54Speaker 2: this one goes to court, the courts will say that
- 21:57Speaker 2: it is the president has the right to do this.
- 22:00Speaker 2: The other side of this is those of us who
- 22:04Speaker 2: paid back our student loans. I borrow it and I
- 22:08Speaker 2: paid back every penny with interest. Huh, How these people
- 22:13Speaker 2: get away with it. The other side of that one,
- 22:16Speaker 2: this is four sides, is when I went to school,
- 22:20Speaker 2: it wasn't two hundred thousand dollars in debt. It was
- 22:24Speaker 2: actually affordable. So put all that together, and you've got
- 22:27Speaker 2: a clustered truck on your hands.
- 22:31Speaker 4: This just in when people cause debt in their lives,
- 22:36Speaker 4: they all have to pay it back. I have to
- 22:38Speaker 4: pay for my house, all right. So the Pope's favorite drink,
- 22:43Speaker 4: Pepsi Co. They planned to cut prices. They're also going
- 22:47Speaker 4: to be eliminating some of their products. This has to
- 22:50Speaker 4: do that with an investor that they have that they
- 22:52Speaker 4: refer to as an activist investor. They're making changes after
- 22:57Speaker 4: prodding from Elliott Investment Management, which took a four billion
- 23:01Speaker 4: dollars stake in the company back in September. So now
- 23:05Speaker 4: being on the board pushing back, they're going to get
- 23:09Speaker 4: rid of some things. They expect their organic revenue to
- 23:14Speaker 4: grow between two and four percent and six We'll see
- 23:19Speaker 4: how that goes. Because when I think fresh snacks, I
- 23:22Speaker 4: think Pepsi.
- 23:23Speaker 2: Okay, And you're going to see no cheese Cheetos coming
- 23:28Speaker 2: out the Cheeto food product that's artificially tastes like cheese.
- 23:35Speaker 2: It's going to be good. Doritos. Don't they also make oreos?
- 23:43Speaker 2: I think they do? Don't they? No, that's that's Mendads
- 23:47Speaker 2: or whatever the hell that company is.
- 23:50Speaker 3: A whole lot of dust in the wind. More than
- 23:54Speaker 3: one hundred piles of cremated remains were discovered in search
- 23:59Speaker 3: like Nevada back in August. The person who found the
- 24:02Speaker 3: ashes stumbled on the piles back on July twenty eighth
- 24:06Speaker 3: in a desert area. Search site is about an hour
- 24:09Speaker 3: south of the Las Vegas Valley, and then in late October,
- 24:13Speaker 3: representatives from palm mortuaries and cemeteries removed approximately three hundred
- 24:19Speaker 3: and fifteen piles from the desert. A second area containing
- 24:24Speaker 3: more piles was found near the original dump site. There's
- 24:27Speaker 3: no law in Nevada saying that you can't scatter ashes
- 24:30Speaker 3: in public land, but you're not supposed to commercially distribute
- 24:34Speaker 3: cremated remains, so a mass dumping site like this would
- 24:37Speaker 3: be illegal.
- 24:37Speaker 2: Yeah, where do they go? You have these mortuaries that
- 24:39Speaker 2: have a contract with the for example, the coroner's office,
- 24:44Speaker 2: where you have unidentified people sitting there and you know
- 24:48Speaker 2: they've got to go someplace. They cremate those people, and
- 24:51Speaker 2: then you have these ashes. By the way, cremains. I
- 24:54Speaker 2: love this. This is remains that have been a burnt up.
- 25:01Speaker 2: It's like crazins, which are actually cranberries that are dried
- 25:09Speaker 2: out and those are yeah, Neil, tell me that's not true.
- 25:13Speaker 2: No food.
- 25:13Speaker 4: You know what's funny is you drive around LA and
- 25:15Speaker 4: you can always see the the immigrant owned businesses because
- 25:22Speaker 4: they're always like a combination of the two streets they're on.
- 25:26Speaker 4: It's like up the front in the back. It's always
- 25:28Speaker 4: some combination of the of the two streets or something.
- 25:30Speaker 4: All right, thirty five year old geez, this is a
- 25:34Speaker 4: lot of alcohol on a Royal Caribbean cruise last year.
- 25:40Speaker 4: Was served at least thirty three alcoholic drinks at the
- 25:43Speaker 4: ship's bar, you know, a couple hours during a couple
- 25:48Speaker 4: of hours.
- 25:48Speaker 1: Time or something like that.
- 25:50Speaker 2: And he he died.
- 25:53Speaker 1: It seems that there was some.
- 25:57Speaker 4: Situation though with the team there on the ship as well,
- 26:01Speaker 4: so he was intoxicated, He attempted to find his cabin room,
- 26:05Speaker 4: got lost, became agitated, apparently was confronted by some Royal
- 26:09Speaker 4: Caribbean security members who allegedly tackle them into the ground,
- 26:13Speaker 4: subdued him with their full body weight, so says the plaintiff,
- 26:17Speaker 4: And he apparently died. And now they're suing thirty three
- 26:22Speaker 4: alcoholic drinks.
- 26:24Speaker 2: That's a lot and security getting involved. They're looking at
- 26:28Speaker 2: a big law lawsuit and probably a settlement and then
- 26:32Speaker 2: in the normal corporate reply or hacks because some pr
- 26:39Speaker 2: person wrote this on behalf of Royal Caribbean, this is
- 26:43Speaker 2: what a spokesperson said. We were saddened by the passing
- 26:46Speaker 2: of one of our guests, worked with authorities on their
- 26:49Speaker 2: investigation and will refrain from commenting any further unpending litigation. However, well,
- 26:57Speaker 2: we will be offering a twenty percent discount to the
- 26:59Speaker 2: family on the next Royal Caribbean cruise. They actually they
- 27:06Speaker 2: didn't say the last part too soon.
- 27:08Speaker 4: I know they didn't use at least the line about
- 27:11Speaker 4: their safety is the most is true.
- 27:13Speaker 2: That's true. Yeap.
- 27:15Speaker 3: Doesn't this guy bear some responsibility for downing thirty three?
- 27:18Speaker 2: Of course he does, sure, but that's not what do
- 27:21Speaker 2: you think he's suing? What do you think he's going
- 27:22Speaker 2: to admit that he's dead. Yeah, I understand family is suing,
- 27:26Speaker 2: sorry about that for wrongful death. That is a defense
- 27:30Speaker 2: that Royal Caribbean is going to bring to the table,
- 27:34Speaker 2: is that he is Well. Here's what happens in California
- 27:37Speaker 2: is what we have is comparative negligence. We don't have
- 27:40Speaker 2: absolute negligence certain states, if you are fifty one percent negligent,
- 27:46Speaker 2: then you are completely negligent. In California, it's comparative negligent.
- 27:51Speaker 2: If you are fifty one percent negligent, then let's say
- 27:56Speaker 2: there's an award of one hundred thousand dollars. Caribbean only
- 28:01Speaker 2: has to pay fifty one percent of that. So that's
- 28:06Speaker 2: going to be a defense saying twenty percent of it
- 28:08Speaker 2: is his fault, thirty percent of it is his fault
- 28:10Speaker 2: if it goes to trial. Let's go ahead and finish
- 28:13Speaker 2: up with Amy.
- 28:16Speaker 3: The cost to see the doc probably going up. Americans
- 28:19Speaker 3: say they expect medical cost to skyrocket. Consumers' median expectations
- 28:25Speaker 3: for the annual growth in medical costs hit more than
- 28:28Speaker 3: ten percent in November. Those fears of bigger medical bills
- 28:32Speaker 3: come as the Enhanced Affordable Care Act subsidies they're set
- 28:36Speaker 3: to expire at the end of the year.
- 28:39Speaker 2: Yeah, if the Republicans don't come to the table on
- 28:42Speaker 2: this one and at least negotiate most of the Enhanced
- 28:48Speaker 2: Obamacare subsidies, you're going to see this thing blow up
- 28:51Speaker 2: like crazy. It's going to kill the Republicans especially since
- 28:56Speaker 2: the Congress voted and the Senate voted to keep or
- 29:00Speaker 2: to reopen the government with the promise that we'll negotiate
- 29:05Speaker 2: before the end of January. We'll will negotiate a deal.
- 29:09Speaker 2: Problem is they end all those subsidies end at the
- 29:13Speaker 2: end of this month. So there's it's going to be
- 29:17Speaker 2: a tough one. It really is politically, and you know
- 29:20Speaker 2: you're going to see what's happening more and more. The
- 29:23Speaker 2: Democrats are getting more and more ammunition on their side
- 29:27Speaker 2: to deal with what's going on politically. Okay, well we're done, guys.
