While many avoid focusing on their sins, it becomes easier when the emphasis is on God's mercy and the spiritual healing we need. The more aware we are of our sins, the more we can receive His mercy. And the more mercy we receive, the more Jesus can bless us in other ways. Start with seeking God's mercy each day, and trust that He will take care of everything else.
