- 0:01Speaker 1: When I woke up this morning, I was feeling pretty dangerous.
- 0:03Speaker 1: We're on a sin tonight. It's my team, it's my corpet.
- 0:07Speaker 1: They are well, we thought they were hello. You play
- 0:12Speaker 1: to win for days. They want you to cook the dinner.
- 0:15Speaker 1: At least they ought to let your shout for some
- 0:16Speaker 1: of the grocery. And on the way up, we're gonna
- 0:18Speaker 1: buy to kneecap all getting me playoffs. I'm just here
- 0:22Speaker 1: so I won't get fine. How could he not be
- 0:23Speaker 1: romantic about football? Hat? What is going on? Everybody? Welcome
- 0:27Speaker 1: to bench with Banetta. First things first, I probably sound terrible,
- 0:33Speaker 1: and that is because I am in my mother's basement. Um,
- 0:37Speaker 1: I'm under a beautiful sign that says cheers. Um, I'm
- 0:42Speaker 1: surrounded by scented candles. What's this one, oh, spiced apple, Toddy.
- 0:47Speaker 1: It's a very mom vibe down here. And I'm doing
- 0:51Speaker 1: the best that I can because I just traveled Mohan Graver,
- 0:56Speaker 1: thousands of miles occurss of that coun tree to get
- 1:02Speaker 1: to my mother's basement. This was the finish line, folks.
- 1:06Speaker 1: This was the beautiful light at the end of the tunnel.
- 1:10Speaker 1: So anyways, if I if I sound terrible. This is
- 1:12Speaker 1: just what you're gonna have to deal with. You're probably
- 1:14Speaker 1: gonna hear people walking above me. This is just, you know,
- 1:17Speaker 1: this is the life that I'm living currently. I sleep
- 1:19Speaker 1: in my mother's basement with an eyemask and two ear
- 1:23Speaker 1: plugs per ear because it's that loud. Speaking of earplugs,
- 1:27Speaker 1: I just drove across the country with my brother. It
- 1:32Speaker 1: took six days. Okay, that's six nights of five nights
- 1:38Speaker 1: whatever of um snoring, lots of snoring, Mohan, if you
- 1:43Speaker 1: could believe it and it wasn't coming from me, I
- 1:45Speaker 1: can guarantee you that he was snoring so loud, you guys,
- 1:48Speaker 1: that he would wake himself up. Oh what was that?
- 1:52Speaker 1: Sobdy just slam a door, said, no, Jacob, you are
- 1:56Speaker 1: ruining my life. We traveled from Los Angeles. We went
- 2:01Speaker 1: to a wedding in San Francisco, and then we went
- 2:05Speaker 1: to through Nevada, which I think I'm good. I think
- 2:08Speaker 1: I'm good on Nevada. I don't know if I have
- 2:10Speaker 1: to no offense to people that live in Nevada. But
- 2:12Speaker 1: there were signs every few miles that said do not
- 2:16Speaker 1: pick up hitch hikers because there are multiple prisons in
- 2:19Speaker 1: the area, and so we were like, oh my god,
- 2:24Speaker 1: we saw we saw a car that was empty. It
- 2:26Speaker 1: could have been a getaway car. So that was so
- 2:29Speaker 1: I'm good on I'm good on Nevada. I think Vegas. Yeah,
- 2:33Speaker 1: I'm good on Vegas. I think we've talked about this.
- 2:36Speaker 1: We talked about this before the draft. Molan was like, yo,
- 2:39Speaker 1: you got to go to dolly or what's it even called.
- 2:43Speaker 1: I don't even know what's the fancy resta Delilas. Mohan
- 2:49Speaker 1: was like, oh, I go to Delilah's like once every
- 2:51Speaker 1: three months. No, it was Mohan, it was it was guys.
- 2:55Speaker 1: I know it wasn't Mohan, but I wanted to be
- 2:57Speaker 1: his vibe. I'm trying to make it sounded like Mohasa.
- 3:01Speaker 1: It was definitely Mohan. You're right, thank you. Um So Nevada,
- 3:07Speaker 1: I can leave. Um. Salt Lake City, UM, I think
- 3:11Speaker 1: I could also leave. The sealf clots were cool. Everything
- 3:14Speaker 1: was fine. Uh, Wyoming though, you guys, I am moving there.
- 3:20Speaker 1: Wyoming was the coolest place. Mohan, do not laugh at me.
- 3:23Speaker 1: I am a cowboy. Wyoming was the coolest place I've
- 3:26Speaker 1: ever been. As soon as we crossed over the little
- 3:29Speaker 1: State borderline. I went to a boot barn and got
- 3:34Speaker 1: myself a cowboy hat. And I don't want to like
- 3:36Speaker 1: make anything weird. I don't want to like declare anything
- 3:39Speaker 1: on this podcast. But I think that the cowboy life
- 3:42Speaker 1: is a life for me. It fit me perfectly from
- 3:45Speaker 1: in every way possible. So I'm a cowboy now. Um.
- 3:49Speaker 1: We went through Yellowstone National Park. We had to go
- 3:51Speaker 1: and buy bear spray because we were afraid because we
- 3:54Speaker 1: saw claw marks on a garbage cannon. We're like, we
- 3:57Speaker 1: need bear, we just need it. Um, We're see we go.
- 4:00Speaker 1: We went to Montana. UM. I did not see Kevin Costner,
- 4:04Speaker 1: which was a bummer for me in this podcast. Um,
- 4:10Speaker 1: I've met two Benched with Banetta fans on the road.
- 4:13Speaker 1: Both asked about Mohan. They didn't. You're right, You're right,
- 4:19Speaker 1: they didn't. They asked about Graver though. Oh no, they
- 4:23Speaker 1: didn't come on. But they're fans, guys, they're fans of
- 4:28Speaker 1: the show. What did they say. They just said that
- 4:32Speaker 1: they were fans, big fans, and I shout out to them.
- 4:35Speaker 1: I hope they're listening. I had to run away because
- 4:37Speaker 1: I had my INVISI line on and I've decided that
- 4:40Speaker 1: I look like a crazy person with invisi line. I
- 4:42Speaker 1: got my I went to go get my driver's lines
- 4:44Speaker 1: before left, and I had to take a picture, which
- 4:47Speaker 1: is just mean have the stock photo of the person
- 4:51Speaker 1: on file. And if ever that they need to take
- 4:53Speaker 1: a picture, then you ask, hey, you know, if it's
- 4:56Speaker 1: not ten years ago, do you want the stock picture?
- 4:59Speaker 1: Do you want a new one? I would go with
- 5:00Speaker 1: the stock picture because my mouth is trying to cover
- 5:04Speaker 1: the invisile line that I have in and it looks
- 5:07Speaker 1: it looks insane. Uh So I just run away from
- 5:10Speaker 1: everybody when I had my little mouthguards in. I dropped
- 5:13Speaker 1: my mouthguards on the floor, on the on the ground
- 5:16Speaker 1: on this road trip about seven times. So that's fun.
- 5:19Speaker 1: And then I made it into Canada and now I'm
- 5:21Speaker 1: home and it's been a beautiful experience and I'm doing
- 5:25Speaker 1: it again three weeks from now. Any questions about the
- 5:28Speaker 1: road trip, you guys, there anything that you're curious about.
- 5:30Speaker 1: I did not stop at the spam museum, but I
- 5:33Speaker 1: did stop to get you spam graver. I have a
- 5:36Speaker 1: spam for you. Nice. Yeah. What what was the best
- 5:39Speaker 1: pocast like podcast you listened to? Um? We tried to
- 5:43Speaker 1: listen to Undaunted Courage. It's like the retelling of the stunts,
- 5:47Speaker 1: so boring, the retelling of the story of Lewis and
- 5:49Speaker 1: Clark U but in like a more progressive way, like
- 5:53Speaker 1: they're like reading their diaries, but they're also saying, like, hey,
- 5:57Speaker 1: they weren't treating saka jew we are very cool. And
- 6:01Speaker 1: so it was interesting to listen to it in that
- 6:03Speaker 1: way instead of just like reading about Lewis and clark journey.
- 6:05Speaker 1: But it was crazy because there was a point on
- 6:07Speaker 1: the trip that we like kind of intersected. So that
- 6:09Speaker 1: was nuts. My favorite thing that I listened to, which
- 6:12Speaker 1: was completely unhinged, um, was Matthew McConaughey's book. We listened
- 6:18Speaker 1: to Green Lights or green Light whatever it's called. Al Right,
- 6:23Speaker 1: I readA right and he's just lived an insane life,
- 6:25Speaker 1: like it was. I read that book. Did you like it? Yeah?
- 6:29Speaker 1: It was good. I thought the way his dad passed
- 6:32Speaker 1: away it was pretty crazy. Having sex. You could just
- 6:36Speaker 1: say that his whole light as insane. Yeah, sorry, guys,
- 6:39Speaker 1: Matthew mcconnaey, Yeah, that's why passed away. Having sex with
- 6:44Speaker 1: Matthew McConaughey's mother. So and that's that's how he said
- 6:48Speaker 1: he was going to go too. That's a spoiler alert
- 6:51Speaker 1: if I've ever heard one. Thank you Mohan for that,
- 6:54Speaker 1: um but that was my favorite thing that I listened to.
- 6:56Speaker 1: And now I'm in Canada and I'm catching up on
- 6:59Speaker 1: the football news because, to be honest, guys, the New
- 7:02Speaker 1: York Times article came out about Dejaun Watson last week
- 7:04Speaker 1: and I read it in my car and I was
- 7:07Speaker 1: just frustrated and it was annoying. And Mohan and I
- 7:10Speaker 1: both X Browns fans. If you have been listening to
- 7:13Speaker 1: this podcast, you know that we were just feeling very frustrated.
- 7:18Speaker 1: The Texans are now getting dragged into this and they're
- 7:20Speaker 1: at fault in a lot of ways, supplying hotel rooms
- 7:24Speaker 1: and the NBA's which is crazy. So anyways, your girl
- 7:28Speaker 1: needed a break from football. Thank you Benched with Benetta
- 7:31Speaker 1: fans for saying hi on the street. I'm sorry we
- 7:32Speaker 1: didn't have an episode last week, but I was literally
- 7:34Speaker 1: in a car the entire time, or fending off snoring
- 7:37Speaker 1: or afraid of bears, so I needed a sec But
- 7:43Speaker 1: a couple of things going on this week. The first
- 7:45Speaker 1: headline that I saw today, it just made me feel
- 7:47Speaker 1: really bad for Tuah Tungavaloa Tyree Hill. I don't know
- 7:51Speaker 1: why he said this. I think that it was incredibly dumb. Sorry,
- 7:56Speaker 1: he said that Tua is a more accurate passer thrower
- 8:01Speaker 1: then Patrick Mahomes. Yeah, I to it, exactly, Why would
- 8:08Speaker 1: you put your quarterback in this situation unless maybe Tyreek
- 8:13Speaker 1: is like secretly wanting him to maybe he wants somebody
- 8:17Speaker 1: else like that. There was that video of him overthrowing
- 8:20Speaker 1: that happened a couple of weeks ago that like when
- 8:21Speaker 1: viral and everyone's like, oh my god, now it's Tyree
- 8:24Speaker 1: Hills saying, hey, guys, Tua is a much better football
- 8:27Speaker 1: player than my old friend. God. I don't know he
- 8:36Speaker 1: I mean, I get it, he's sticking up for his quarterback.
- 8:38Speaker 1: He doesn't want the current guy throwing him the ball
- 8:41Speaker 1: to like hate him and not throw him the ball.
- 8:44Speaker 1: But at the same time, like you know, if you
- 8:46Speaker 1: throw out a comparison to Patrick Mahomes, that's just gonna
- 8:49Speaker 1: bring all the people out of the woodwork to talk
- 8:52Speaker 1: about how that's not true. So I don't know. I
- 8:54Speaker 1: don't think he was trying to sabotage to Ah, but
- 8:57Speaker 1: he definitely did on accident. No, I like the drama.
- 9:02Speaker 1: It absolutely isn't for somebody like to. I really feel
- 9:04Speaker 1: bad for this kid, like I fell in love with
- 9:06Speaker 1: two as soon as he entered into the NFL. I
- 9:08Speaker 1: don't really watch college football, so obviously I know what
- 9:11Speaker 1: happened in the last games and this incredible throw and
- 9:15Speaker 1: all of that stuff in his injury, all of that stuff.
- 9:17Speaker 1: He's an amazing and has had an incredible career thus
- 9:20Speaker 1: far in college. But what I noticed about tuah A
- 9:24Speaker 1: He's incredibly lovable. He is so well spoken and is
- 9:28Speaker 1: smart and fun and just you just want to be
- 9:31Speaker 1: a fan of this guy. And I don't know if
- 9:32Speaker 1: you guys remember it, but after his very first start
- 9:35Speaker 1: in the NFL, he just like the stadium completely cleared
- 9:40Speaker 1: and he just went out into the middle of the
- 9:42Speaker 1: field and sat there and just like took it all
- 9:45Speaker 1: in and you were and I think even you know,
- 9:48Speaker 1: new coach of the Dolphins, Mike McDaniel has said, this
- 9:51Speaker 1: kid just involves football. He just loves football so much.
- 9:56Speaker 1: He was dealing with an injury all last season. People
- 9:59Speaker 1: were like, we should trade for Deshaun Watson, which would
- 10:03Speaker 1: be like if if there were like headlines going out
- 10:07Speaker 1: about somebody who's done terrible, terrible things, and my bosses
- 10:12Speaker 1: were saying like, yeah, we're thinking about hiring this person
- 10:15Speaker 1: to replace Rachel one day, Like, not only are you
- 10:18Speaker 1: like having your job threatened, you're having it threatened by
- 10:20Speaker 1: somebody who's like not a good person. So it's almost
- 10:23Speaker 1: even more of a painful situation. He handled all of
- 10:27Speaker 1: that with so much grace. Well, I don't know if
- 10:30Speaker 1: you remember when we were hearing all these Baker things
- 10:33Speaker 1: come out and Baker was writing the letters and that
- 10:36Speaker 1: there were a lot of comparisons between Baker and Tua, like, oh,
- 10:39Speaker 1: this is how Baker is going to handle this like
- 10:41Speaker 1: a child, And this is how Tua handled it with
- 10:43Speaker 1: grace and kind of like you know, when they went low,
- 10:45Speaker 1: he went hi, right. I love him so much. I
- 10:48Speaker 1: want him to succeed, but I feel like people almost
- 10:53Speaker 1: don't want that to happen. Gravera, what were you going
- 10:55Speaker 1: to say? Some stats here from Warren Sharpe, who posted
- 10:58Speaker 1: this yesterday Monday. Tah on deep passes in twenty twenty one.
- 11:03Speaker 1: Number one in expected points added per attempt, Number one
- 11:07Speaker 1: in success rate and completion percentage, number one in yards
- 11:11Speaker 1: for attempt, and he was also number one in red
- 11:13Speaker 1: zone success. Those are pretty good numbers for a guy
- 11:16Speaker 1: that a lot of people don't have much faith in. Yeah, totally,
- 11:19Speaker 1: and who was under such scrutiny and who's been dealing
- 11:22Speaker 1: with injuries basically the entire time that he's in the NFL.
- 11:24Speaker 1: I genuinely like kind of feel bad for him, and
- 11:26Speaker 1: I want to be like his biggest are the Dolphins
- 11:29Speaker 1: still around on Bachelor et They are? They are interesting.
- 11:39Speaker 1: I really liked to a lot, and it kind of
- 11:41Speaker 1: bums me out that people are like so ready to
- 11:43Speaker 1: like not like him, like give the kid a give
- 11:46Speaker 1: the kid a chance, give him a fair season of
- 11:49Speaker 1: us not being jerk stamped. So anyways, I don't think
- 11:52Speaker 1: that that was a good idea by Tyree. Also, they
- 11:54Speaker 1: like his rookie year. They were like, tah now Patrick
- 11:57Speaker 1: or Ryan Fitzpatrick, why don't you go play a little bit.
- 12:00Speaker 1: It's like, all right, you're good, Let's put two of
- 12:01Speaker 1: back out there for a little bit. And like, all right,
- 12:03Speaker 1: that was fun. Now Ritter like get like just let
- 12:05Speaker 1: him be the starter for once. Yeah, And also I
- 12:09Speaker 1: was on Pro Football Talk today just to kind of
- 12:12Speaker 1: like brush up on headlines. And the very first headline
- 12:16Speaker 1: that I saw with no excuses for two on twenty
- 12:19Speaker 1: twenty two, like he's not making any he is trying
- 12:23Speaker 1: under the biggest of microscopes, Like just stop writing it lines,
- 12:28Speaker 1: just let him play football. I'm really excited to see
- 12:30Speaker 1: him with the weapons that he has in tire Hill
- 12:32Speaker 1: this season too, Like he's never really had anyone like
- 12:36Speaker 1: that before, so it'll be fun. The next headline that
- 12:41Speaker 1: made me really really laugh because Mohan, you and I
- 12:45Speaker 1: know this, but cousin style, I ekonom I did a
- 12:48Speaker 1: show with him for many a year's at Fox Sports
- 12:52Speaker 1: called Locking In or Fox by Live or whatever you
- 12:55Speaker 1: want to call it these days. Um, but he is
- 12:58Speaker 1: the biggest Cowboys fan that I know, and Jason Garrett
- 13:03Speaker 1: brought him so much pain that it made me happy
- 13:09Speaker 1: every single time. Every single time he would come into
- 13:13Speaker 1: work on Monday after a Cowboys loss, he was cursing
- 13:17Speaker 1: Jason Garrett's name. He called him the clapper because on
- 13:20Speaker 1: the sidelines he was always just like, let's oh, let's
- 13:23Speaker 1: call it, like doing absolutely nothing. And I saw this
- 13:27Speaker 1: headline today and it truly truly brought me joy because
- 13:31Speaker 1: now I know he's going to be back in Sal's life.
- 13:36Speaker 1: Jason Garrett, NBC has hired him for Football Night in America.
- 13:42Speaker 1: He is replacing Drew Brees. Do we even know what
- 13:45Speaker 1: Drew Brees is doing this year anymore? He was like,
- 13:47Speaker 1: think about coming back? Right anyway? We don't know Aboutdrew Brees. Yeah,
- 13:50Speaker 1: but we do know what Jason Garrett is gonna be
- 13:52Speaker 1: up to. He's going to be an analyst, so that's
- 13:55Speaker 1: at like the big panel table, right. He's not gonna
- 13:57Speaker 1: actually be calling games. I would love it if he
- 13:59Speaker 1: was called games, like next to Tony Dungee, like talking
- 14:03Speaker 1: about the pregame and the halftime show and whatever. Yeah.
- 14:07Speaker 1: How upset? Mo? Do you think that this has made Sal? Oh,
- 14:11Speaker 1: he's so annoyed. But I bet he's also well he was.
- 14:16Speaker 1: He was with the Giants before, so no, I know,
- 14:19Speaker 1: but it was it was he didn't have to deal
- 14:21Speaker 1: with him. I'm going to text him right now, Jason
- 14:24Speaker 1: Garrett Football Night in America. What are your thoughts. Let's
- 14:30Speaker 1: check back in at the end of the show to
- 14:31Speaker 1: see how angry he is. Love it? Um, So this
- 14:35Speaker 1: just brings me joy. I want to see that the
- 14:37Speaker 1: very first time that he collapse on air is going
- 14:40Speaker 1: to be a joyous moment for me. Um, So we'll
- 14:43Speaker 1: see what's house to say about that. And then finally,
- 14:45Speaker 1: the last thing that I wanted to talk about was
- 14:47Speaker 1: Cliff Kings. Were he praying for Kyler to be signed
- 14:52Speaker 1: before training camp? He's taken to Lord Baby Jesus to
- 14:57Speaker 1: answer questions about Kyler. Now, what you guys think about this,
- 15:01Speaker 1: because it's it's constantly been bothering me literally since like
- 15:05Speaker 1: back in when did this start? When? When? When we're
- 15:08Speaker 1: the When was the letter written from his agent? I
- 15:12Speaker 1: think it was February twenty eighth? Was that statement that
- 15:16Speaker 1: the novel June? And it is still bothering me. I
- 15:22Speaker 1: can't believe that He's like, I don't know, just praying.
- 15:26Speaker 1: Does that give you guys a lot of hope? Because
- 15:28Speaker 1: it does not give me any Like, oh, you know,
- 15:31Speaker 1: if I was a head coach, I would go like,
- 15:33Speaker 1: we'll get it done. We love Kyler, we appreciate him,
- 15:36Speaker 1: we want him to stay. We're gonna get it done.
- 15:38Speaker 1: We're gonna figure it out. Dune dune done. For Cliff
- 15:41Speaker 1: to say praying, I just think is so it tells
- 15:45Speaker 1: me that things are not going well. He told reporters
- 15:49Speaker 1: on Tuesday that he is trying to Okay, it gets worse.
- 15:52Speaker 1: He's trying to control what I can control, but is
- 15:55Speaker 1: praying that a deal is done before the start of camp.
- 15:58Speaker 1: We sound a little bit more confident, like everything's gonna
- 16:01Speaker 1: work out. Yeah, it feels very much like you know,
- 16:06Speaker 1: you're in the eighteen hundreds and your kid has polio
- 16:09Speaker 1: and you're trying to like pray that polio away. It's
- 16:12Speaker 1: not gonna work. Maybe it's not gonna work. You need
- 16:16Speaker 1: some medicine. You need to go to the doctor and
- 16:21Speaker 1: figure it out. Um, I'm really curious. Honestly, I feel
- 16:26Speaker 1: like the team that has the biggest question mark for
- 16:28Speaker 1: me next season, it's probably the Cardinals. You know, there's
- 16:31Speaker 1: gonna be teams are bad, you know, but they are
- 16:34Speaker 1: the most intriguing team to me. I went to that
- 16:36Speaker 1: Rams game. Please do not put a whose House Rams
- 16:39Speaker 1: House in there. You know, I'm actually gonna pause out
- 16:41Speaker 1: of respect for you Graves that you can do it.
- 16:45Speaker 1: I hate so much. I went to that game and
- 16:49Speaker 1: I was so excited and I brought I've talked about
- 16:51Speaker 1: it before. I brought my brother, and I was like,
- 16:54Speaker 1: this is gonna be really good. Like, if there's an
- 16:57Speaker 1: NFL game to bring to you for your time, it's
- 17:01Speaker 1: this one. And it was so boring. It felt like
- 17:04Speaker 1: the Cardinals didn't even really put up a fight. Um
- 17:08Speaker 1: so Fi Stadium was louder there than it was at
- 17:11Speaker 1: the Super Bowl. That's how stoked Rams fans were because
- 17:16Speaker 1: that's how bad the Cardinals were. Was it so boring
- 17:19Speaker 1: that your brother snored through the whole game? You know
- 17:23Speaker 1: what I did? I thought I heard something, but the
- 17:25Speaker 1: whose House Rams House was almost too loud that it
- 17:27Speaker 1: kind of drowned out the snoring. Good one. I'm so
- 17:32Speaker 1: curious to see it. With the d hop suspension for
- 17:35Speaker 1: six games, no one knows what's going on with with Kyler.
- 17:38Speaker 1: Is he going to be like fully healthy when he
- 17:41Speaker 1: comes back, because he had some weird stuff going on
- 17:44Speaker 1: last season. They are the biggest question mark to me.
- 17:47Speaker 1: Are they still alive in the bench with Banetta Saga
- 17:51Speaker 1: the Cardinals? No, they gone. I kicked him out after
- 17:56Speaker 1: that that playoff game. Okay, guys, we're gonna go to break.
- 18:00Speaker 1: I'm gonna get the spam warmed up for Graver Roul.
- 18:02Speaker 1: If you're right back, he's based. Okay, this is usually
- 18:17Speaker 1: the time where I talk about the best and the
- 18:18Speaker 1: worst things that I saw or heard in the last week. Um, Unfortunately,
- 18:23Speaker 1: I just like kind of a crappy things. Last week,
- 18:28Speaker 1: the Jack del Rio stuff came back up. He was
- 18:30Speaker 1: charged one hundred thousand, one hundred thousand, one hundred and
- 18:33Speaker 1: fifty thousand. I can't remember the number, but he charge
- 18:35Speaker 1: a lot of money for his comments about the insurrection,
- 18:38Speaker 1: which work. I don't know what we're doing. Um, the
- 18:45Speaker 1: Deshaun Watson New York Times article came out. This just
- 18:48Speaker 1: continues to get worse. Gosh, like, I wish that we
- 18:52Speaker 1: had some intel on what players you know, how players
- 18:57Speaker 1: feel about him, Like, you know, they can respect his
- 19:02Speaker 1: game because obviously, you know, once upon a time he
- 19:04Speaker 1: was an incredible football player. But also like how much
- 19:07Speaker 1: do NFL players really care about their teammates? Like personal
- 19:11Speaker 1: views and things that happened, And they're not just views
- 19:13Speaker 1: but actions obviously, and even crazy ones like what's happening now?
- 19:18Speaker 1: You know, with like the last two years, a lot
- 19:21Speaker 1: of players alienated themselves by not getting a COVID vaccine.
- 19:24Speaker 1: But then but then you know, they're still playing every week.
- 19:27Speaker 1: They their teammates are still their teammates. Everyone's trying to win.
- 19:30Speaker 1: Everyone wants to perform well individually so they can go
- 19:33Speaker 1: get paid on their next contract. Everyone has trying to
- 19:36Speaker 1: win a super Bowl. That was a really, really good point.
- 19:39Speaker 1: You know. I was texting Pete because we were like
- 19:42Speaker 1: halfway through the country and we went to Mount Rushmore,
- 19:45Speaker 1: which is a very interesting collection of people that's like,
- 19:49Speaker 1: you know, very patriotic people and five year olds that's
- 19:52Speaker 1: wearing a shirt that's like, defend this country by any means.
- 19:56Speaker 1: And I was like, what does that even mean? You're five?
- 20:00Speaker 1: Oh my gosh. There was also another kid. There was
- 20:02Speaker 1: also another kid that was like ten that said, I've
- 20:05Speaker 1: been told the education is important, but fishings and more
- 20:08Speaker 1: important er And I was like, what is having that's true?
- 20:15Speaker 1: But it just made me think, like we you know,
- 20:18Speaker 1: we all live in Los Angeles, and I've lived in
- 20:20Speaker 1: New York City before, and I've lived in Toronto, which
- 20:22Speaker 1: is incredibly diverse and progressive, and like we live in
- 20:25Speaker 1: these little bubbles, but all across America there are so
- 20:28Speaker 1: many people that have different ideas than us and think
- 20:30Speaker 1: a different way and feel a different weird or raised
- 20:33Speaker 1: a different way, like I can only imagine, you know,
- 20:36Speaker 1: those locker rooms just being such a like a melting
- 20:39Speaker 1: pot of ideas, and especially the last few years, forget
- 20:43Speaker 1: about COVID politics, like so many people have been divided
- 20:48Speaker 1: in this country. I wonder if at this point locker
- 20:50Speaker 1: rooms are kind of like I don't want to know
- 20:52Speaker 1: what you're into. I don't want you to know what
- 20:54Speaker 1: I'm into. Let's listen to music, let's play football, and
- 20:58Speaker 1: that's how we get on. So I wonder if it's
- 21:01Speaker 1: just like you know, you're gonna do you, I'm gonna
- 21:03Speaker 1: do me. I want to play football, I want to
- 21:06Speaker 1: make money, and if you're going to pass the ball
- 21:08Speaker 1: to me, that's fine, right. Like the Commanders defenders who
- 21:12Speaker 1: play for Jack del Rio are probably like, well, whatever,
- 21:15Speaker 1: I gotta go perform. Well, you know, yeah, it is
- 21:19Speaker 1: what it is. That's how he thinks he's uninformed or whatever.
- 21:22Speaker 1: You know, Like what isn't isn't that life? Like you're
- 21:25Speaker 1: always going to work with people that you disagree with
- 21:26Speaker 1: and you're always going to have to be like, you know,
- 21:30Speaker 1: just stay in your Life's about like staying in your lane,
- 21:32Speaker 1: I think and like, you know, obviously being vocal about
- 21:35Speaker 1: the things that are important to you. But I don't know.
- 21:39Speaker 1: I just feel like these days, I'm like everyone, just
- 21:41Speaker 1: stay away from me. I don't want to talk to anybody. Okay.
- 21:46Speaker 1: I want to finish this podcast with things that I
- 21:49Speaker 1: learned on the road, and then the first one I
- 21:52Speaker 1: think is very important. It actually could save a life. Okay,
- 21:55Speaker 1: you guys, ready, if a deer jumps out on the road,
- 22:00Speaker 1: you have to hit it. You just gotta hit it
- 22:03Speaker 1: like a clean hit. You can't swerve, don't try and
- 22:06Speaker 1: save the deer's life. You just have to hit it
- 22:10Speaker 1: because you could die if you don't. That's rule number one. Okay,
- 22:15Speaker 1: we can't deeld. You could die either way. I feel like, okay, listen, guys,
- 22:23Speaker 1: these are my rule sniers. Okay, Um, so you hit
- 22:26Speaker 1: the deer. Okay, you gotta hit the deer, poor dear.
- 22:30Speaker 1: I mean, I guess if you're hitting it, you're hitting
- 22:34Speaker 1: it with the front of your car and let's say,
- 22:35Speaker 1: like leaps up and lands on your windshield. But it's
- 22:38Speaker 1: much more dangerous to swerve and try and save Listen.
- 22:42Speaker 1: I am very pro animal. I want to save deer. Okay,
- 22:45Speaker 1: I want to save all the deer, but I also
- 22:46Speaker 1: don't want to die. And we were driving through very
- 22:50Speaker 1: sketchy parts of South Dakota and they were a lot
- 22:51Speaker 1: of dead deer on the ground and my brother looked
- 22:54Speaker 1: at me. It was just like, you know what to
- 22:56Speaker 1: do if a deer jumps out, And I said, no,
- 22:58Speaker 1: save it's life. He goes, no, you gotta hit that sucker.
- 23:03Speaker 1: So I just wanted to share that maybe I save
- 23:05Speaker 1: a life by saying this on the podcast. If it's
- 23:08Speaker 1: a buck and it goes to the windshield and the horns, yeah,
- 23:13Speaker 1: this isn't final destination. This is you're driving through South Dakota.
- 23:18Speaker 1: You just gotta hit it here. Listen. This is just
- 23:21Speaker 1: this is just the wisdom that I learned as a
- 23:23Speaker 1: road dog that I'm trying to pass along to my friends. Okay.
- 23:27Speaker 1: Um Number two, all gas stations, every single gas station
- 23:33Speaker 1: in South Dakota, absolutely lovely. Go inside, meet the people
- 23:39Speaker 1: working there, shake some hands. Just wash wash your hands
- 23:43Speaker 1: after you go to the bathroom, and then shake the hands.
- 23:45Speaker 1: Pick up the snacks. Great snack variation South Dakota gas
- 23:49Speaker 1: stations ten out of ten is that surprising, I guess,
- 23:53Speaker 1: so are the bathrooms. Bathrooms beautiful lighting in the bathrooms
- 23:59Speaker 1: for helfies. Ten out of ten people that are working
- 24:02Speaker 1: at the gas station counters commented on things that I
- 24:05Speaker 1: was wearing every single time that I went in, and
- 24:07Speaker 1: you're like that, you really pull off those overalls real
- 24:11Speaker 1: good girl. I don't know why I made them Southern,
- 24:14Speaker 1: but got to give a shout out to my South.
- 24:17Speaker 1: The cotins, your gas stations and rest stops are top tier.
- 24:22Speaker 1: I felt like I was in Paris. The Paris of
- 24:27Speaker 1: the planes is South Dakota. Second thing, the third thing,
- 24:34Speaker 1: Always go to Wyoming and always take the trip. Take
- 24:38Speaker 1: the trip. If you're thinking about it, do it. I
- 24:41Speaker 1: had so much anxiety about driving across the country and
- 24:44Speaker 1: I said, you know what, screw it. I'm gonna take
- 24:46Speaker 1: my green light shout outs. Matthew McConney mo One already
- 24:51Speaker 1: talked about it, but his dad died having sex with
- 24:52Speaker 1: the phone. Go through the green light, okay, say yes,
- 24:58Speaker 1: And I'm going to remember this for the rest of
- 25:01Speaker 1: my life. And I'm only halfway through. I have to
- 25:03Speaker 1: drive back through a completely different way. We also we
- 25:08Speaker 1: also saw a sign on the on the highway that
- 25:11Speaker 1: said Sundance next X hit and I was like, oh
- 25:14Speaker 1: my god, the famous Sundance like film festival. Do you
- 25:17Speaker 1: want to go and let the dogs out for a
- 25:18Speaker 1: walk there? And my brother was like, sure, that sounds cool.
- 25:21Speaker 1: It's probably like a cool little town. It was not
- 25:24Speaker 1: the Sundance that we were thinking of. Different it was
- 25:28Speaker 1: a different Sundance, but it was the place where the
- 25:33Speaker 1: Sundance Kid. Do you guys know anything about the Sundance
- 25:35Speaker 1: Kid because I did not, But it was this guy
- 25:37Speaker 1: that was like the most famous robber in the United
- 25:39Speaker 1: States of America. This was the one and only time
- 25:42Speaker 1: he ever landed in jail was in Sundance Mountain. I
- 25:48Speaker 1: can't remember where it was. It was in Sundance And
- 25:52Speaker 1: that is this town's claim to fame. Wow, So wait,
- 25:56Speaker 1: rank these states? Yeah, South Dakota, Wyoming, Montana, Wyoming is
- 26:04Speaker 1: number one, without a doubt. The Grand Teatons are so cool.
- 26:09Speaker 1: Somebody told me that they're called their grand Tetons because
- 26:11Speaker 1: the Native Americans saw them and they looked like boobies.
- 26:14Speaker 1: It can't be true. That seems far fetched, but who knows.
- 26:18Speaker 1: Who knows it might be what's aass Mauthic mcconaugh, his
- 26:21Speaker 1: dad number two, number two. I would say Montana, but
- 26:26Speaker 1: I don't feel like we really saw like cool parts
- 26:28Speaker 1: of it. I was thinking, like I honestly thought Wyoming
- 26:31Speaker 1: was like Montana, like in my mind's eye, like thinking
- 26:34Speaker 1: about pictures of it before we left, like mountains and
- 26:38Speaker 1: bison and all of this stuff. But the parts that
- 26:41Speaker 1: we drove through in Montana were just like fine. Wyoming
- 26:44Speaker 1: was insane, and then South Dakota was really cool. I
- 26:45Speaker 1: actually really accept Dakota, but that would be three. But
- 26:48Speaker 1: there was also also a lot of elk everywhere, and
- 26:50Speaker 1: the dogs in the car would go nuts. I like, guys,
- 26:56Speaker 1: keep it cool, we are guests here, um, and they
- 27:01Speaker 1: had zero they had zero chill. Also, I bought dried
- 27:05Speaker 1: lavender to stick in the car so that it would
- 27:07Speaker 1: smell nice. Didn't work. Didn't work. Wow, did not did
- 27:13Speaker 1: not work for us. But it was so much fun
- 27:17Speaker 1: and I had a blast, and I'm gonna go back
- 27:20Speaker 1: and um, so let me know where you guys think
- 27:22Speaker 1: I should hit up. On the way home from Toronto
- 27:25Speaker 1: to Los Angeles, Spam Museum. I'm not going to go
- 27:29Speaker 1: back to the spam Museum. I mean, and I don't
- 27:33Speaker 1: read us out of my way trip to just pick
- 27:35Speaker 1: you up spam from the Spam Museum. But how many
- 27:39Speaker 1: cans tall? Are you? Rachel? Yeah, we did go to
- 27:43Speaker 1: the bad Lands and I think I heard a rattlesnake's
- 27:46Speaker 1: rattle and I got hello a dodge. I got out
- 27:50Speaker 1: of there. Have you guys ever seen a rattlesnake? I've
- 27:52Speaker 1: never and I never want to. Yeah, that was a
- 27:54Speaker 1: big There were signs everywhere, like all over Wyoming, like
- 27:58Speaker 1: don't go into this bush. There's poisonous snakes and their
- 28:01Speaker 1: head a picture of Ronald stinks like get out of here. Scary.
- 28:05Speaker 1: Um all right, do we have to kick off a
- 28:07Speaker 1: team this week? It feels kind of sad because I
- 28:09Speaker 1: just crossed America. What was my least favorite? Um, South
- 28:12Speaker 1: Dakota or what was Let me kick off the South
- 28:16Speaker 1: to go to NFL team. We have kicked off nine
- 28:21Speaker 1: teams so far, so we haves like, you know, twenty
- 28:27Speaker 1: three teams. Well, I guess we have to kick off
- 28:29Speaker 1: twenty two more. We only have, I mean eleven this
- 28:35Speaker 1: twelve weeks before the season starts, so we should actually
- 28:39Speaker 1: pick up the pace. I think on how many teams
- 28:41Speaker 1: were kicking off per week. Okay, Um, you know, I
- 28:46Speaker 1: didn't love Detroit's toll system and the roads were really bad,
- 28:54Speaker 1: but I do love the lines, so I am going
- 28:56Speaker 1: to keep them in this for a little bit longer.
- 28:59Speaker 1: Is Green Bay still alive? They are still alive. Wisconsin
- 29:06Speaker 1: was really beautiful and really green. Um. Did you see
- 29:10Speaker 1: Aaron Rodgers new girlfriend that's going around on social media?
- 29:14Speaker 1: Blue Blue Earth, Blue Blue of Earth, Blue of Earth,
- 29:18Speaker 1: the Witch whatever else. We're a little Um yeah, she's spicy. Huh,
- 29:24Speaker 1: pretty interesting, So each thrown Okay, I think, but that's
- 29:29Speaker 1: my sign off. The dogs who are in crazy packers
- 29:32Speaker 1: pack your bags. Sorry, but you are out the bench
- 29:36Speaker 1: with Vanetta Bachelorette. Um, we're gonna have to start getting
- 29:40Speaker 1: ruthless next week, folks. Okay, I'm sending in my apologies. Now,
- 29:43Speaker 1: we're gonna have to start doing double deckers. We're gonna
- 29:45Speaker 1: have to start doing double deckers. And that's that's all.
- 29:48Speaker 1: She wrote that we gotta do it, We gotta get
- 29:50Speaker 1: we gotta get to the finish line. To the start
- 29:52Speaker 1: of the season. I need a new team. Um, can
- 29:55Speaker 1: I just say about the audio situation we're working with today.
- 29:59Speaker 1: Just the think of it like you're hanging out with
- 30:01Speaker 1: us on a Zoom call or whatever video conferencing client
- 30:05Speaker 1: you would use, like we're all just hanging out today.
- 30:07Speaker 1: It's not. It's not a podcast, it's just a hangout.
- 30:10Speaker 1: You do you really think that you are people gonna
- 30:13Speaker 1: stop me on the street on the way back and
- 30:14Speaker 1: be like, oh god, I'm a big bench with Banetta fan.
- 30:17Speaker 1: But your audio was not good and also Nohan guy
- 30:21Speaker 1: really rubbed me the wrong way. I could see that.
- 30:24Speaker 1: I could see that happening on guys. Thanks for listening.
- 30:27Speaker 1: We'll be back next week. More football names. We're getting
- 30:29Speaker 1: excited for the season, and we hope you are too.
- 30:32Speaker 1: We'll see this. Bye. Yeah, Welcome to Wyoming.
