- 0:00Speaker 1: From the New York Post to the NFL national writer
- 0:02Speaker 1: who joins us from the East Coast on the Beacon
- 0:04Speaker 1: Plumbing Hotline. Good morning, Ryan, thanks for joining up. Good
- 0:07Speaker 1: afternon to you. Hey, how are you?
- 0:10Speaker 2: Thanks for having me.
- 0:11Speaker 1: Yes, sir, thanks to having me back on the radio station. Well,
- 0:14Speaker 1: first of all, all of us here in Seattle are saying,
- 0:16Speaker 1: how did the Giants get a primetime Sunday night game
- 0:19Speaker 1: in this season?
- 0:21Speaker 2: Well, there's a couple of easy answers for that, right, Like,
- 0:24Speaker 2: Giants Cowboys is big Week one. I want to sit.
- 0:27Speaker 2: This will be the eighth time since twenty twelve, so
- 0:30Speaker 2: they seem to always play each other week one and
- 0:33Speaker 2: then no one likes to hear this in Seattle especially,
- 0:36Speaker 2: But you know, New York market, Dallas market, big big rivalry,
- 0:40Speaker 2: catch the Giants while they're exciting with the John Harbaugh
- 0:44Speaker 2: era before they you know, in the past, usually they
- 0:47Speaker 2: end up five and eleven or five and twelve, so
- 0:49Speaker 2: you know you don't want to have them on late
- 0:51Speaker 2: in the season. There's a lot more opposite vism with
- 0:54Speaker 2: the Harboy era.
- 0:55Speaker 1: But you got the Harboy era starting against the Cowboys.
- 0:58Speaker 2: The Cowboys obviously end up in primetime week one, and
- 1:03Speaker 2: you know you'd get the Giants in the New York market,
- 1:05Speaker 2: Wall fans are at their most excited.
- 1:07Speaker 1: Ryan, I think I saw you allude to another theory
- 1:10Speaker 1: out there that the you get the Jets are gonna
- 1:13Speaker 1: be playing an afternoon game on that Sunday. Assuredly that'll
- 1:16Speaker 1: get announced thirty days and then the Mets and Yankees
- 1:19Speaker 1: are playing a subway baseball series on that Sunday afternoon
- 1:22Speaker 1: at one thirty, a game already s could come on.
- 1:24Speaker 1: New York's big enough they could play. The Giants could
- 1:26Speaker 1: play in the afternoon too, didn't they.
- 1:29Speaker 2: Yeah, it is, but I think look, the Yankees Mets
- 1:32Speaker 2: thing is a twenty fifth anniversary of the nine to
- 1:35Speaker 2: eleven tragedies, so they're playing the eleven, twelfth, thirteenth. So
- 1:39Speaker 2: that's why that series is New York, New York at
- 1:41Speaker 2: that point of the year. And then you probably get
- 1:44Speaker 2: the Jets. They'll probably be at one o'clock because there's
- 1:46Speaker 2: not a lot of interest in the Jets, but it
- 1:48Speaker 2: could be at four thirty, and especially if it's a
- 1:51Speaker 2: Fox doubleheader, that could be the CBS game, and then
- 1:53Speaker 2: you'd have a New York triple header. But yeah, New
- 1:55Speaker 2: York is big enough. But look New York. The Knicks
- 1:58Speaker 2: are rolling but long. Fifteen years in New York. Give
- 2:02Speaker 2: New York a little something to give one day a
- 2:04Speaker 2: year to be to celebrate as New York sports big rate.
- 2:08Speaker 1: Nobody out here in Seattle. One's give New York a
- 2:11Speaker 1: celebrator that you're from New York. This is Ryan Dunlevy
- 2:14Speaker 1: of the New York Daily News joining it. Sorry, New
- 2:16Speaker 1: York Post that's fighting words in New York, joining us
- 2:19Speaker 1: on Beacon plumbing hotline. The New York Post, the paper
- 2:22Speaker 1: that broke the Mike Rabel Diana Versini story that has
- 2:26Speaker 1: just caught on like wildfire with just follow ons and
- 2:30Speaker 1: more video and more pictures. I want to ask you,
- 2:34Speaker 1: as a staff member of the Post, did all of
- 2:36Speaker 1: you anticipate did you have any idea this story had tentacles,
- 2:41Speaker 1: it would last as long and become this much of
- 2:43Speaker 1: a phenomenon that won't seem to end. I mean, is
- 2:46Speaker 1: this caught the New York Post by surprise?
- 2:49Speaker 2: Uh So Page six and the sports department are very
- 2:52Speaker 2: separate entities. Yes, at the Post, I mean we're all
- 2:55Speaker 2: er the Post umbrella. But like so is Fox, and
- 2:57Speaker 2: that's a very different umbrella than the New York Post too,
- 3:00Speaker 2: So I knew it was coming like a day or
- 3:03Speaker 2: two beforehand. I did not the original piece. I did
- 3:08Speaker 2: not expect it to catch wildfire like this, obviously, But
- 3:13Speaker 2: there is seems to be a new development or new
- 3:16Speaker 2: photos every single week. So when any story, as we
- 3:22Speaker 2: know as journalists, whenever, whenever any story at this or
- 3:26Speaker 2: something football related or anything, whenever there's new developments every
- 3:31Speaker 2: single week, then a story has legs. So probably better
- 3:36Speaker 2: off for all people if the whole story gets out
- 3:40Speaker 2: at one time, in any in any instance, and then
- 3:43Speaker 2: you move on to something else. But when you're piecing
- 3:46Speaker 2: together little pits at a time, stories keep going.
- 3:50Speaker 1: Especially when I was denied by both parties to start off,
- 3:54Speaker 1: What do you write? What do you anticipate happens to
- 3:57Speaker 1: Mike Vrabel?
- 4:00Speaker 2: Thing?
- 4:00Speaker 1: Is?
- 4:01Speaker 2: Is that boring to say?
- 4:03Speaker 1: Like another?
- 4:04Speaker 2: But what do you to die man? Nothing? Right? We've
- 4:06Speaker 2: been around this league long enough?
- 4:08Speaker 3: Right?
- 4:08Speaker 2: Like he like, you know, he committed a personal It
- 4:15Speaker 2: sounds like, at least based on his statements, committed to
- 4:18Speaker 2: you know, a personal family grievance, but doesn't really seem
- 4:23Speaker 2: to affect his job the same way it would affect
- 4:26Speaker 2: a journal my job, or your job, or any journalists
- 4:29Speaker 2: job who you know, sources and integrity are at the
- 4:32Speaker 2: basis of it. Like his job is to win football games.
- 4:35Speaker 2: He does it very well. Uh So I don't really expect,
- 4:40Speaker 2: you know. I mean, we've been in locker rooms enough
- 4:43Speaker 2: where players have their own uh uh personal uh stories
- 4:51Speaker 2: going on in their lives and they all kind of
- 4:52Speaker 2: put it aside to win games. And I'm sure they'll
- 4:55Speaker 2: be able to do that with the coach. That's really
- 4:57Speaker 2: all a team is about, is coming together to win
- 5:00Speaker 2: games at this level. So that's why I think it'll
- 5:03Speaker 2: probably be Bear Seahawks in Week one on Wednesday Night,
- 5:07Speaker 2: because I don't know that the NFL will want to
- 5:09Speaker 2: talk about Mike Rabel on its opening night game and
- 5:12Speaker 2: not a Super Bowl Seahawks Patriots rematch. I don't think
- 5:15Speaker 2: the NFL will be dying to, you know, put Mike
- 5:18Speaker 2: Rabel out in front and center in Week one. But
- 5:23Speaker 2: other than that, I think he'll be on the sidelines
- 5:24Speaker 2: and they'll be trying to win games, and people will
- 5:27Speaker 2: still be asking him questions and he'll still be giving
- 5:29Speaker 2: vague answers.
- 5:31Speaker 1: Unfortunately, you're right, and I've covered the NFL since two
- 5:33Speaker 1: thousand and two and I agree with you. But is
- 5:37Speaker 1: there anything to be said of the character of man
- 5:39Speaker 1: and the men that we're in that locker room who
- 5:42Speaker 1: have to follow him, listen to him and buy into
- 5:44Speaker 1: him and they hope trust him. Do you see that
- 5:47Speaker 1: or is that a firewall that there's two different distinct Yeah.
- 5:51Speaker 2: I kind of think there's football integrity and personal integrity.
- 5:54Speaker 2: Like you know, we see a Sante Samuel the older
- 5:58Speaker 2: one on Twitter right now, like bragging about his personal escapades.
- 6:05Speaker 2: Well like he was basically, I mean, he had almost
- 6:09Speaker 2: Hall of Fame caliber career. If he intercepts the past
- 6:13Speaker 2: before the helmet catch, then NFL history is totally rewritten
- 6:17Speaker 2: and the Patriots go undefeated and the Giants don't win
- 6:20Speaker 2: the Super Bowl and Eli Manning is probably not in
- 6:22Speaker 2: the Hall of Fame discussion. He's a great player. Uh,
- 6:26Speaker 2: none of his teammates wanted him off the team because
- 6:28Speaker 2: he was doing the things he says he's doing was
- 6:31Speaker 2: doing now on Twitter. So I kind of think there's
- 6:33Speaker 2: football like if Sante Samuel was leaking plays to the
- 6:38Speaker 2: other team, he'd be out of the NFL. But like,
- 6:41Speaker 2: as in his own words, having an extra marital affair.
- 6:45Speaker 2: None the players like, oh, you know, that's your business,
- 6:47Speaker 2: but you know, don't bring that around my wife. But
- 6:51Speaker 2: but yeah, no, I think there's football integrity. And my
- 6:55Speaker 2: guess would be the players you and I have been
- 6:57Speaker 2: around would probably say, like, you know, like in the
- 7:02Speaker 2: case of a head coach, like hold us accountable on
- 7:05Speaker 2: the field. You know, if guys are being late to meetings,
- 7:08Speaker 2: then make sure you're disciplining them. But what you're doing
- 7:12Speaker 2: in your personal life is your responsibility, and what I
- 7:15Speaker 2: do in my personal life is my responsibility.
- 7:17Speaker 1: This is Ryan Dunlevy, and unfortunately he and I both
- 7:20Speaker 1: know that is the truth in the NFL. He's joining
- 7:22Speaker 1: us from the New York Post here on the Beacon
- 7:24Speaker 1: Plumbing Hotline ninety three point three KJRFM.
- 7:27Speaker 4: If indeed AJ Brown was traded to the Patriots, how
- 7:31Speaker 4: much would that change you think expectations for Drake May
- 7:34Speaker 4: and their playoff outlook?
- 7:38Speaker 2: Uh, yeah, I mean I think there would be. Look,
- 7:41Speaker 2: but the Patriots were in the Super Bowl last year.
- 7:43Speaker 2: They're expected to be good again. And I do think
- 7:46Speaker 2: and Drake May was the runner up for the MVP.
- 7:48Speaker 2: I think I actually voted for him for the MVP,
- 7:50Speaker 2: put him ahead of Stafford. So I don't know how
- 7:54Speaker 2: much higher expectations can get. I mean, they're gonna be
- 7:59Speaker 2: right there with the Bills in the afcast. They're going
- 8:01Speaker 2: to be right there. Everybody knocked their schedule, and obviously
- 8:04Speaker 2: the boring Super Bowl that the Seahawks one kind of convincing.
- 8:09Speaker 2: They didn't do them any face, didn't do them any
- 8:12Speaker 2: favors in terms of making them propped up like a
- 8:15Speaker 2: paper tiger. But I think they're pretty I think they're good.
- 8:17Speaker 2: I think they're good. They have a good coach, they
- 8:19Speaker 2: have a good quarterback. Yeah, and if Aj Brown go
- 8:21Speaker 2: is there, I expect Aj Brown to be a thousand
- 8:23Speaker 2: yard receiver. Again talking about another guy who has football
- 8:28Speaker 2: results and off field character, but he produces. So I
- 8:32Speaker 2: think he'll fit right in there and they'll be very good,
- 8:34Speaker 2: and they'll go about their business with him, you know,
- 8:38Speaker 2: reading books on the sideline or whatever it is he does,
- 8:41Speaker 2: and they'll have a thousand yards and eleven touchdowns and
- 8:44Speaker 2: they'll be good.
- 8:45Speaker 1: Teams are putting up but well not teams.
- 8:47Speaker 4: Well, actually, I could say teams because Aaron Rodgers, he's
- 8:49Speaker 4: bounced around a little bit. But how much patience can
- 8:53Speaker 4: the Pittsburgh Steelers realistically have with a rod before they
- 8:56Speaker 4: have to just commit to I don't know the other
- 8:58Speaker 4: option at quarterback whoever? That mean, maybe they'll call greg
- 9:00Speaker 4: Will Howard man free Will Howard.
- 9:05Speaker 2: I love that you asked that because, like to me,
- 9:08Speaker 2: I wrote a column about this like on draft night,
- 9:10Speaker 2: just like I'm old enough, like Mike Toddler is old
- 9:14Speaker 2: enough to remember when the Steelers were like a model
- 9:17Speaker 2: organization and their last fifth, their last fifteen months have
- 9:21Speaker 2: been waiting for Aaron Rodgers twice whatever, angering Mike Tomlin
- 9:27Speaker 2: to the point where he quit a great coach, and
- 9:31Speaker 2: then the Mackay Lemon draft call, like they're I'm in
- 9:37Speaker 2: New York, guys, I see the Jets and Giants scrub
- 9:39Speaker 2: quite a bit. They're on the like jetson Giants trajectory
- 9:42Speaker 2: of like pr like mishaps here.
- 9:49Speaker 1: I grew up outside Pittsburgh. That hurts. You're not wrong,
- 9:51Speaker 1: but that hurts.
- 9:53Speaker 2: Yeah, I just I don't love anything going on there.
- 9:57Speaker 2: But like to answer your question, like I guess they're
- 10:00Speaker 2: held captive like the other option is Will Howard, so
- 10:04Speaker 2: I guess I'd wait as long as he wants. He'll
- 10:05Speaker 2: probably do what he did last year, which is signed
- 10:08Speaker 2: the day before mandatory Mini camp, because like that's what
- 10:11Speaker 2: he'd used as like the start of the NFL season.
- 10:14Speaker 2: So I assume that's what they'll do. And if they
- 10:17Speaker 2: were going to move on from him, they would have
- 10:19Speaker 2: obviously picked somebody higher in the draft, or traded for
- 10:23Speaker 2: Kirk Cousins or done something to give them a viable
- 10:26Speaker 2: Plan B. Instead, they don't have a viable Plan B. Again,
- 10:29Speaker 2: So whatever Aaron want Rogers wants is what's gonna go.
- 10:32Speaker 2: And that's exactly how Aaron Rodgers likes it.
- 10:35Speaker 1: He deserves the Cardinals. Don't sign him. Let him go
- 10:38Speaker 1: to the Cardinals because Brissette is holding out, which is
- 10:41Speaker 1: why he's not holding out. He's not mandatory yet. But yeah,
- 10:44Speaker 1: free Will Howard. Was Mike McCarthy just stay?
- 10:47Speaker 4: What was his purpose in this higher because at this
- 10:49Speaker 4: point you would think Mike could get him in the building.
- 10:52Speaker 1: But at this point it doesn't seem like he can
- 10:54Speaker 1: get him in the building. So it's just I don't know.
- 10:57Speaker 2: About anybody I was around Aaron Rodgers very you know,
- 11:00Speaker 2: I didn't get to know him, but I was around
- 11:02Speaker 2: him for years, so I when he was with the
- 11:04Speaker 2: Jets two years, I guess so I saw, you know,
- 11:08Speaker 2: the show. And I don't think anybody really tells Aaron
- 11:11Speaker 2: rod even Mike McCarthy, who's been with him for years.
- 11:14Speaker 2: I don't think anybody really tells Aaron Rodgers what he like.
- 11:17Speaker 2: It's great they have a relationship and it's Grady knows
- 11:20Speaker 2: his playbook, but I don't think anybody really tells Aaron
- 11:23Speaker 2: Rodgers what to do. I mean, somehow we have to
- 11:28Speaker 2: go back to your somehow to go back to your
- 11:32Speaker 2: Rabel point. We have pictures of Mike Rabel at every
- 11:36Speaker 2: and I'm stealing this from a line from a host
- 11:39Speaker 2: on wf AN next year, but somehow we have pictures
- 11:42Speaker 2: of Mike Rabel at every turn of his life for
- 11:46Speaker 2: the last six years, and we don't have any pictures
- 11:49Speaker 2: of Aaron Rodgers' wife, Like we don't even know. So
- 11:53Speaker 2: like I don't know that anybody anything in Aaron Rodgers
- 11:57Speaker 2: life besides Aaron McCarthy.
- 12:00Speaker 1: Sad but true that that's the Steelers quarterback free Will
- 12:04Speaker 1: Howard is Ryan Dunleavy New York Post joining us in
- 12:06Speaker 1: the Beacon Plumbing hotline from New York. What happened with
- 12:10Speaker 1: Russell Wilson with the Giants? Do you think was this inevitable?
- 12:14Speaker 1: Was Jackson Dart always going to play last year? We
- 12:17Speaker 1: saw the mammoth game Wilson had in Dallas where to
- 12:21Speaker 1: go wrong? And was he just set up to fail
- 12:23Speaker 1: because Jackson Dart was going to get there last year? Anyway? Yeah?
- 12:27Speaker 2: I think that's I mean, we know how this goes,
- 12:29Speaker 2: like you sign a veteran quarterback than you draft one,
- 12:33Speaker 2: and it wasn't as overtly as the Falcons, you know,
- 12:38Speaker 2: screwed over Kirk Cousins with Michael Pennix a couple of
- 12:41Speaker 2: years ago. Or but yes, the Giants had told Russell
- 12:47Speaker 2: Wilson I had a time there was a chance they
- 12:49Speaker 2: would draft the quarterback. Did they lead Russell Wilson to
- 12:53Speaker 2: believe that he was going to get a longer leash
- 12:55Speaker 2: than he got?
- 12:56Speaker 1: Yes?
- 12:56Speaker 2: But as we come to find out, Brian Dable was
- 13:00Speaker 2: much under the hot seat and obviously didn't make it
- 13:02Speaker 2: pass like week eight or nine. So he was trying
- 13:05Speaker 2: to save his job. He figured his best bet to
- 13:07Speaker 2: save the job was to show look at my young quarterback,
- 13:11Speaker 2: which makes sense. Dark played very well, he was said, Yeah,
- 13:14Speaker 2: Russ was kind of set up to fail. The team
- 13:18Speaker 2: wasn't you know, didn't have a lot of playmakers, especially
- 13:20Speaker 2: after milit Neighbors went down. Offensive line was better than
- 13:25Speaker 2: it's been, but they was as soon as Dark got here,
- 13:29Speaker 2: everybody's gonna want Dart one, tirow and three. There's no
- 13:33Speaker 2: point in starting a thirty seven year old quarterback. So yeah,
- 13:36Speaker 2: he thought he was going to get a little bit
- 13:38Speaker 2: longer leached. I think if he they had won that
- 13:40Speaker 2: game where he threw for four hundred and fifty yards
- 13:43Speaker 2: in Week two against the Cowboys, if they had won
- 13:45Speaker 2: that game, I think he would have got a longer leash.
- 13:48Speaker 2: Is it his fault that the defense gave up a
- 13:51Speaker 2: three point lead in twenty three seconds? No, it's not
- 13:53Speaker 2: his fault. But that's the way the cookie grumbles.
- 13:56Speaker 1: And now he could be on the NFL today instead
- 13:58Speaker 1: of a sideline apparently, and.
- 14:01Speaker 2: Or he could be the Jets backup. They have an
- 14:03Speaker 2: offer out. I talked to Russ last week. They haven't.
- 14:06Speaker 2: The Jets have an offer out to him. He could
- 14:08Speaker 2: be the Jets backup I just don't know. You guys
- 14:10Speaker 2: probably know him better than I do. Greg like, is
- 14:12Speaker 2: he gonna want to finish his career? He sees himself
- 14:15Speaker 2: as Russell Wilson.
- 14:17Speaker 1: MVP Hall of Famer.
- 14:18Speaker 2: Is he gonna want to finish his career as a
- 14:20Speaker 2: backup to Gino Smith?
- 14:21Speaker 1: To Geno Smith? Is the part there? Back up to
- 14:24Speaker 1: anybody in the league? But Gino Smith? Of how it
- 14:26Speaker 1: ended here in Seattle. But when you talk to him,
- 14:28Speaker 1: how viable does it seem he'd signed with the Jets.
- 14:32Speaker 2: It seemed like he was, you know, fifty to fifty
- 14:34Speaker 2: Like I, if I had to guess, I guess he
- 14:39Speaker 2: did TV analyst. But uh, he seemed to be weighing it.
- 14:43Speaker 2: I mean, like he says, Gino and him have a
- 14:46Speaker 2: good relationship, so he says that would be okay with him.
- 14:50Speaker 2: I think he feels like, Hey, if I'm gonna beat
- 14:53Speaker 2: anybody out, I could beat out Gino Smith. I've already
- 14:55Speaker 2: you know, I've already shown him better than him at Seattle.
- 14:57Speaker 2: So I think he would see it as a chance
- 14:59Speaker 2: to uh be a starting quarterback again. But I don't know,
- 15:05Speaker 2: Like I just he doesn't strike me as like you
- 15:07Speaker 2: get to this age and like Cousins obviously has accepted
- 15:10Speaker 2: this is his fate. Now, I'm going to be a
- 15:12Speaker 2: backup quarterback. I'm going to be a mentor. A lot
- 15:15Speaker 2: of these guys don't want to do that, Like Eli
- 15:17Speaker 2: Manning didn't really want to do that, right, So, so
- 15:20Speaker 2: I don't know, like especially with the Jets, like they
- 15:24Speaker 2: could fire their coach during the season. It could be
- 15:26Speaker 2: a mess. So, like, is that how he wants to
- 15:28Speaker 2: end his career or does he want to go right
- 15:30Speaker 2: into TV.
- 15:31Speaker 1: One more on Wilson. We know him as Mark Rodgers
- 15:35Speaker 1: as his agent Russell Wilson, but now he's got David
- 15:37Speaker 1: Muligana there, the agent for the star the superstars of
- 15:41Speaker 1: modern football. Does it Does that seem to be a
- 15:44Speaker 1: factor toward him playing or to being in CBS, or
- 15:46Speaker 1: that's a non factor to you?
- 15:49Speaker 2: Yeah? My sense is that I think he did that
- 15:51Speaker 2: when he wanted to because he wanted to play again, right,
- 15:53Speaker 2: that's the That's the sense I have is that he thought,
- 15:56Speaker 2: let me get the You know, I believe his former
- 16:01Speaker 2: agent doesn't have a big football role. Yes, yeah, so
- 16:07Speaker 2: I believe mullagat You know, Mullageta has found ways to
- 16:11Speaker 2: be like, oh, I have Xavier McKinney and Michaeh. I
- 16:16Speaker 2: have Xavier McKinney and Jordan Love already in Green Bay. Magically,
- 16:20Speaker 2: I'm gonna get Michael Parsons to Green Bay too, And
- 16:22Speaker 2: now my quarterback suddenly has a chance to win a
- 16:25Speaker 2: Super Bowl because Michael. He's found a way to get
- 16:29Speaker 2: his clients together. So maybe Russ thought, you know, Mullagett's ties.
- 16:34Speaker 2: Maybe whoever Mullageta's big free agent this year was, I
- 16:36Speaker 2: don't know, maybe that would be a package with Russell Wilson.
- 16:40Speaker 2: I don't know. I think he did that because he
- 16:42Speaker 2: wanted to play again, and I don't think that hat.
- 16:45Speaker 2: I don't think he would have made that switch. Mullagat
- 16:47Speaker 2: is not a TV.
- 16:48Speaker 1: Agent, right.
- 16:50Speaker 4: Last one for me, We all know that that eighteen
- 16:54Speaker 4: game season is coming. Don't know when, but I'm assuming
- 16:56Speaker 4: it is coming sooner than later. What do you think
- 16:58Speaker 4: could be the biggest sticking point between the NFL and
- 17:01Speaker 4: NFLPA when discussions come about that eighteen game season becoming
- 17:05Speaker 4: more serious?
- 17:07Speaker 2: Money?
- 17:08Speaker 1: Right?
- 17:09Speaker 3: Money?
- 17:09Speaker 2: Yeah, piece of piece of the pie? Like can we
- 17:13Speaker 2: get what more are we gonna get? If we're sacrificed.
- 17:16Speaker 2: Is it benefits for health now that we're playing more games?
- 17:20Speaker 2: Is it? You know what, what more money are the player?
- 17:24Speaker 2: Is it a way to raise the whatever that is?
- 17:30Speaker 2: What the revenue share?
- 17:31Speaker 1: Yeah, that's the key.
- 17:33Speaker 2: Yeah, so a way to raise the revenue share before
- 17:37Speaker 2: the CBA is up to if we're gonna play eighteen games,
- 17:42Speaker 2: do we what is it now?
- 17:43Speaker 1: Is it fifty eight or something? Forty eight to forty
- 17:47Speaker 1: eight point eight? That's the max the players can get.
- 17:49Speaker 1: And that's one of the worst deals in professional sports.
- 17:52Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly, So is there a way they tweet that? Yeah,
- 17:55Speaker 2: the players are gonna want more money if they play
- 17:57Speaker 2: more games because the NFL, I mean, pretty soon there's
- 18:01Speaker 2: going to be a game on like pretty soon, there's
- 18:03Speaker 2: going to be a game on the Home Shopping Network.
- 18:05Speaker 2: So any chance they can't have a single off window,
- 18:10Speaker 2: they make more money.
- 18:11Speaker 1: So the players are going to walp whatever they tend
- 18:12Speaker 1: to get more of a piece of that on a Tuesday,
- 18:15Speaker 1: know this, Ryan Dunlady of the New York Post, Thank you, sir.
- 18:19Speaker 1: It's great to talk to you and be well in
- 18:21Speaker 1: your spring. Enjoy your time.
- 18:23Speaker 2: Thanks for having me. Guys, anytime.
- 18:24Speaker 1: Thank you, Ryan Dunleavy, New York Post. Yeah, that's a
- 18:27Speaker 1: good point about the revenue share. They are not to me,
- 18:29Speaker 1: I would hold that as the card to play against
- 18:32Speaker 1: the owners. You want us to get an eighteenth game,
- 18:35Speaker 1: give us fifty percent, give us fifty point two percent
- 18:38Speaker 1: of the league revenue. And we've talked about this before.
- 18:41Speaker 1: NFL owners, more than any owners in pro sports. NFL
- 18:44Speaker 1: owners are not in the business giving away their money.
- 18:46Speaker 1: That's how they became billionaires. That's how they've kept the
- 18:49Speaker 1: league revenues at fifty two percent owners forty eight percent players.
- 18:54Speaker 1: It is fast awkwards in a lot of the veteran players'
- 18:57Speaker 1: minds that they are not nearer to fifty to fifty,
- 18:59Speaker 1: if not above. For the players and a sport that
- 19:02Speaker 1: is that injured prone, that that effective and debilitating to
- 19:06Speaker 1: call the quality of life, they need a lot more
- 19:09Speaker 1: than forty eight percent. I'm talking from a veterans players perspective.
- 19:13Speaker 1: I mean, these guys can't even walk and get out
- 19:14Speaker 1: of bed after they're done playing, and yet they don't
- 19:16Speaker 1: get a few less than half of the league's revenues.
- 19:19Speaker 1: While billionaires who aren't touched stay billionaires. By getting fifty
- 19:23Speaker 1: two percent of the league's revenues. That's the problem. They
- 19:26Speaker 1: want to get eighteen games. Give them fifty plus percent
- 19:29Speaker 1: of the revenues. I bet that eighteen game would stop
- 19:31Speaker 1: in a hurry if you started asking for stuff like
- 19:34Speaker 1: that four nine four y five one to come at
- 19:36Speaker 1: Odds text line. We'll come back and read your text

- 20:17Speaker 1: are in Houston to play the Trash Cans, a four
- 20:19Speaker 1: game series. First game is George Kirby on the Hill
- 20:22Speaker 1: his career era in ten games against the Cans two
- 20:26Speaker 1: point one seven. You know what time it is with
- 20:28Speaker 1: the music gets the time to read back your text
- 20:30Speaker 1: at the Takoma Dodge text line four nine four five one.
- 20:34Speaker 4: From the four two five the Mariners have a Kyle
- 20:37Speaker 4: Rawley and Luis Castile problem. I don't want to hear.
- 20:40Speaker 4: It's early for they deserved time to work it out.
- 20:43Speaker 4: This is their problem right now.
- 20:48Speaker 1: If you miss it. We talked about Kyle rally O
- 20:49Speaker 1: for his last thirty six played appearances. We read what
- 20:53Speaker 1: Ryan Divers reported in Today's Seattle Times from Chicago in
- 20:56Speaker 1: the clubhouse of Kyle Rawley's comments and some of you
- 20:59Speaker 1: on the text lines, it sounded like he was broken
- 21:01Speaker 1: by reading those comments. He did sound down, for sure, Ryan,
- 21:06Speaker 1: noting that he was talking very quietly in the clubhouse.
- 21:09Speaker 1: I proposed he go on the injured list for a
- 21:11Speaker 1: week and a half and get a mental and physical break.
- 21:13Speaker 1: Since it's only early May. There is someone in the
- 21:17Speaker 1: text line says, hey, what are you talking about? It's
- 21:18Speaker 1: only May eleven, that's my birthday. Who was that? Who
- 21:21Speaker 1: was that? I want to represent him right? I think
- 21:24Speaker 1: it's a two o six, will find it in here. Hey,
- 21:27Speaker 1: May eleventh, it's my birthday, Happy birthday.
- 21:31Speaker 4: Yep from the actually four two five thanks to the
- 21:33Speaker 4: four two five east side.
- 21:35Speaker 1: Thank you. This next one, oh you have one, Greg
- 21:38Speaker 1: go ahead. Forty five also is a different forty five
- 21:42Speaker 1: says bring on the Patriots, because once the route starts,
- 21:45Speaker 1: it'll be all Rabel Rossini talk. Two o six. Bring
- 21:49Speaker 1: on Vrabel, break May and the putrid Patriots. Two O six.
- 21:54Speaker 1: There's no way, all Caps the NFL wants the Rabel
- 21:58Speaker 1: Rassini thing anywhere near that first game of the season,
- 22:01Speaker 1: Ryan done leave you. The New York Post just made
- 22:03Speaker 1: that point with us in the last segment. In no
- 22:05Speaker 1: way they want to welcome Mahomes back with congratulations. You
- 22:08Speaker 1: get to face the best most aggressive defense in the
- 22:10Speaker 1: league off an acl tare. I think you're correct on
- 22:13Speaker 1: both counts, Maam or sir, I think it's gonna be
- 22:16Speaker 1: the Bears. I think so too. I lost my process
- 22:18Speaker 1: of elimination at this point.
- 22:20Speaker 4: Yeah, don't give don't Yeah, we'll leave it at that
- 22:23Speaker 4: four two five Stan call at home played before the
- 22:27Speaker 4: next game and make him shake hands with all his teammates,
- 22:29Speaker 4: exercise this curse.
- 22:31Speaker 1: With an o exors. I. Yes, we know that reference
- 22:35Speaker 1: back here in Seattle, we know it very well.
- 22:39Speaker 4: All right, Here we go from the four two five?
- 22:44Speaker 4: Why would Rubin Tug Robert Craft even care about this?
- 22:47Speaker 4: That's hey, you know fair points. That's why I kind
- 22:49Speaker 4: of feel like nothing's gonna happen to Rabel.
- 22:53Speaker 1: Robert Kraft called the New York Post and tried to
- 22:56Speaker 1: kill this whole story. Yeah, and now I apparently we
- 23:00Speaker 1: know why. Yeah, two five, three? So how many games
- 23:06Speaker 1: in before we put Dan Wilson on the hot seat. Okay,
- 23:09Speaker 1: let's revisit this again. I believe firmly that Dan Wilson
- 23:14Speaker 1: is the manager because he does exactly what Jared Depoto
- 23:18Speaker 1: and Justin Hollander and by extension, John Stanton want done.
- 23:21Speaker 1: He is a yes man, He's an organizational man. He
- 23:24Speaker 1: had no manager will experience when they hired him. And
- 23:28Speaker 1: anybody like a Joe Maddener, someone who has had success
- 23:31Speaker 1: in other organization. I'm not our World Series success in
- 23:33Speaker 1: Joe Madden's case, would not listen to that, would not
- 23:38Speaker 1: say here's your iPad. Dan Wilson will say, read the
- 23:41Speaker 1: iPad and do what it says. Okay, lefty versus righty.
- 23:44Speaker 1: I'm pinch hitting Connor Joe for Luke Rayley here, or
- 23:48Speaker 1: Luke worse, Luke Rayley for Connor Joe. No matter what,
- 23:50Speaker 1: Luke Rayley's their best at it right now. Oh he's lefty, righty,
- 23:54Speaker 1: you got to be opposite pitcher. He's wedded to that.
- 23:58Speaker 1: And Dan Wilson when he took the manager, yea, I'll
- 24:00Speaker 1: agree to do this. Guy like Joe Madden or somebody
- 24:04Speaker 1: else would be like, here's I show you where you
- 24:06Speaker 1: can shove your rightpad. The other thing is, I don't
- 24:09Speaker 1: think Dan Wilson's on the hot seat until August or so.
- 24:11Speaker 1: Because the division's not going anywhere. The Mariners' ownership can say, look,
- 24:17Speaker 1: we're two and a half games back with a very
- 24:19Speaker 1: underperforming team. If we perform anywhere toward what we should
- 24:22Speaker 1: be with this roster, we're gonna win the division easily. Chris,
- 24:27Speaker 1: I think they're gonna win a division handily. With all
- 24:30Speaker 1: the problems with Kyle Rawly and Luis Castillo and the
- 24:32Speaker 1: bullpen and the overall team have had. This division stinks.
- 24:37Speaker 1: If someone could get anything going, the Mariners would be
- 24:40Speaker 1: ten games eight games back. Right now, they're two and
- 24:42Speaker 1: a half back with a terrible month and a half,
- 24:46Speaker 1: they're gonna win a division, and so if you're the Mariners,
- 24:49Speaker 1: you're gonna be in contention. You got bobbleheads and fireworks
- 24:52Speaker 1: coming up all summer with beautiful weather and a team
- 24:54Speaker 1: that's within three games of first place. Thirty five be
- 24:58Speaker 1: in the yard. What's wrong? Other than us frustrated talking
- 25:01Speaker 1: about it every day and then losing to the White Sox,
- 25:04Speaker 1: what's wrong? Bottom line is, nothing is wrong. If this
- 25:08Speaker 1: is like this late August, something's wrong, because then you
- 25:10Speaker 1: only have thirty days to fix.
- 25:11Speaker 4: It, right, that's big problems.
- 25:15Speaker 1: But even if then, if you're two and a half
- 25:16Speaker 1: back and the division is still only a couple games
- 25:18Speaker 1: over five hundred, you're still not in dire straits and
- 25:21Speaker 1: you don't fire your manager there, especially the manager who
- 25:24Speaker 1: does yes everything to the iPads and the analytics. Say.
- 25:27Speaker 1: That's my very simplified argument about Dan Wilson and why
- 25:30Speaker 1: he's not on the hot seat.
- 25:32Speaker 4: This is from the two five to three honest opinion.
- 25:36Speaker 4: Do you really think the NBA draft is rigged? Truck
- 25:38Speaker 4: this morning was going on about the conspiracy theory that
- 25:41Speaker 4: it is rig somebody would have come out with it
- 25:43Speaker 4: by now if it was true, right.
- 25:46Speaker 1: I think lotteries are weighted. Yes, I think there's a
- 25:49Speaker 1: hand a finger on the scale I talked about there's
- 25:52Speaker 1: too many. There's just so many variables that you have
- 25:53Speaker 1: to hit on. I think did you see the Indiana
- 25:56Speaker 1: Pacers manager came out publicly yesterday and apologize after the
- 25:59Speaker 1: yesh fifth I don't remember the trigger. Was it below
- 26:02Speaker 1: the top three? Then the Clippers got the something that
- 26:05Speaker 1: pick in the trade. So the Pacers traded for a
- 26:09Speaker 1: big man I never heard of, which is half the league,
- 26:11Speaker 1: and they traded their first round pick. And if I
- 26:13Speaker 1: remember it was protected. Some listener out there is more
- 26:16Speaker 1: NBA than I will probably answer this. If it's within
- 26:19Speaker 1: outside the top three, the protection went away and Indiana
- 26:23Speaker 1: loses its pick. Well, the ping pong ball for the
- 26:25Speaker 1: Pacers came up five, so the Clippers get their fifth pick.
- 26:29Speaker 1: So the Pacers purposely tanked and got screwed out of
- 26:33Speaker 1: not having a first round pick in the lottery because
- 26:35Speaker 1: Los Angeles Clippers got it. The system's broke. It's so
- 26:39Speaker 1: broken it must be rigged or someone. I mean, teams
- 26:43Speaker 1: are tanking. It's the system is so broken that the
- 26:46Speaker 1: NBA and Commissioner Adam Silver have changed it. They are
- 26:50Speaker 1: changing it now. Even the bottom three teams are not
- 26:53Speaker 1: going to have the best chance of winning the number
- 26:55Speaker 1: one pick anymore. It's the middle three teams. It's a
- 26:58Speaker 1: very convoluted that's not even worth bringing up to me.
- 27:00Speaker 4: But I just it's just tough for me because I
- 27:03Speaker 4: look at the Cleveland Cavaliers when Lebron left, you know
- 27:05Speaker 4: what I mean, the lotteries they won, they wanted quite
- 27:08Speaker 4: a few to get the next Whoever, it didn't work
- 27:10Speaker 4: out obviously, who oh the Pelicans Zion Like there are
- 27:15Speaker 4: some examples of like if it's rigged, you want.
- 27:18Speaker 1: Did the Cavs win the lottery?
- 27:20Speaker 4: Yeah, I let me pull it up the year, but
- 27:22Speaker 4: they wanted multiple after after Lebron already left. So clearly,
- 27:25Speaker 4: if you want, like you know what, I know, someone
- 27:28Speaker 4: would argue, well, who wants to Cleveland's not a big market.
- 27:31Speaker 1: Come on, you're killing this, Ohio guy. Man, Sorry, but
- 27:34Speaker 1: Greg knows that you were watsem Calves they were Okay,
- 27:37Speaker 1: you know what, here's a better example. Detroit Pistons.
- 27:40Speaker 4: Right, they repeatedly filled the lottery like you would want
- 27:43Speaker 4: Detroit basketball. I believe he was, but outside of that,
- 27:50Speaker 4: they have repeatedly been like.
- 27:53Speaker 1: But for years they've been bad.
- 27:55Speaker 4: Yes, years, it's not like oh they've they have never
- 27:58Speaker 4: gotten that luck and bad boys piston Hello.
- 28:01Speaker 1: For the eighties people, that was a thing. Do you
- 28:03Speaker 1: remember Malice at the Palace by Yes, I remember that
- 28:06Speaker 1: and was like, wow, that's that happened.
- 28:08Speaker 4: That's okay, Wow you said something crazy, it threw a beer,
- 28:12Speaker 4: and you got your ass beat, learned your lesson. You
- 28:15Speaker 4: thought that was fine. I didn't think it was fine.
- 28:17Speaker 4: I understand why he did that. Oh yeah, there was
- 28:19Speaker 4: no you just they were both wrong and you got
- 28:24Speaker 4: your ass before.
- 28:24Speaker 1: For those of you that are listening and don't know
- 28:26Speaker 1: what we're talking about, google Malice at the Everyone does, okay.
- 28:30Speaker 4: Yeah, probably even if you grew up not watching basketball.
- 28:33Speaker 4: Your parent were like, Yo, the Palace at Auburn Hills, Yeah,
- 28:36Speaker 4: which is now just an empty parking lot. My mother
- 28:39Speaker 4: and father lived near the reason I Bobby Troue because
- 28:42Speaker 4: they're historic franchise. For them for not to even correct
- 28:44Speaker 4: sniff it at a higher rate considering their franchise is
- 28:48Speaker 4: kind of like, well, if you want to rig the lottery,
- 28:50Speaker 4: like that's a team that you got to want championships here.
- 28:53Speaker 4: So I don't know it's I understand.
- 28:55Speaker 1: Where Chuck's coming from.
- 28:56Speaker 4: I don't think he's wrong, but I also look at
- 28:58Speaker 4: it like, man, the Spurs got Victor Womben Yama over
- 29:05Speaker 4: teams with massive markets, like send them to l a
- 29:08Speaker 4: ok C could have got them.
- 29:09Speaker 1: What do you say, that's not a massive market. But yeah,
- 29:12Speaker 1: it is getting there.
- 29:13Speaker 4: But my point is they could have sent Wimbyama to
- 29:15Speaker 4: to Boston.
- 29:16Speaker 1: Correct because the lottery recently. But yeah, but you're massive market.
- 29:20Speaker 1: Yeah right, that's right. San Antonio is cargo. That's right.
- 29:24Speaker 1: Oh you're rules man, So I don't know, you're right.
- 29:28Speaker 1: That fun discussion though Marcus referring to US six as
- 29:33Speaker 1: people even have mentioned it. Even shack first four, protect
- 29:37Speaker 1: thanks two, fight three, the first four for the Clipper.
- 29:39Speaker 1: The Pacers were protected. They get fifth after after purposely taken.
- 29:46Speaker 1: They got what they deserve. But steven four to five,
- 29:49Speaker 1: all leagues should take away. The p w h L,
- 29:52Speaker 1: the Professional Women's Hockey League, determines the number one pick.
- 29:55Speaker 1: Wins count once you're eliminated towards the number one pick.
- 29:57Speaker 1: That is something a similar version of the NBA. It's
- 30:02Speaker 1: not quite the same, but it's it's that thinking of
- 30:05Speaker 1: eliminated teams, and yes, but that's you're not the only one,
- 30:10Speaker 1: Steven who's pointed to the pig WHL for their way
- 30:13Speaker 1: of doing a number one pick.
- 30:16Speaker 4: Last one for me from the two O six, Dan
- 30:18Speaker 4: should have won Minute of the Year last year for
- 30:19Speaker 4: bringing a team barely hitting two hundred to the last
- 30:24Speaker 4: game before the series.
- 30:26Speaker 1: All right, the pitchers had something to do that. But yeah,
- 30:31Speaker 1: four to two five, NFL increased roster spots by ten percent,
- 30:34Speaker 1: so players don't play any more games. What's the annual revenue?
- 30:38Speaker 1: Almost more than the combined revenue of all the other sports.
- 30:42Speaker 1: People love talking percent of revenue when the actual dollar
- 30:45Speaker 1: amount doesn't support their argument. And that's also what the
- 30:48Speaker 1: two four to two five is pointing out when he
- 30:50Speaker 1: says forty eight percent, meaning the revenue the players get
- 30:53Speaker 1: in the NFL of California's gross national product is a
- 30:55Speaker 1: lot better than eighty percent of Rhode Island GNP. True,
- 31:00Speaker 1: I will just tell you that players who have a
- 31:03Speaker 1: quality of life issue that is well beyond baseball and basketball,
- 31:07Speaker 1: for instance, in my mind, should have more than forty
- 31:11Speaker 1: eight percent of the NFL's revenue, while billionaire owners just
- 31:14Speaker 1: get billionairesh even more, make billions on top of billions,
- 31:18Speaker 1: give away some of those billions toward players who can't
- 31:21Speaker 1: even put a sentence together or drive the wrong way
- 31:24Speaker 1: in a freeway because the CTE and kill themselves or
- 31:26Speaker 1: put a gun to their head. They're the impact that
- 31:33Speaker 1: this sport, NFL football has on the player's quality of
- 31:37Speaker 1: life demands to me that they get more than forty
- 31:40Speaker 1: eight percent. I don't know why the union ownership can't
- 31:42Speaker 1: go to bat on that alone and just stick the
- 31:45Speaker 1: NFL owners for everything they want based on that number alone.
- 31:49Speaker 1: NFL players, for the debilitating nature of the sport and
- 31:52Speaker 1: how it to fix their quality of life, should hold
- 31:54Speaker 1: out for well beyond forty eight percent of the league's revenue. Yeah,
- 32:00Speaker 1: league makes a lot of money, and yeah, forty eight
- 32:01Speaker 1: percent of the NFL's revenues are a lot. I'm just
- 32:05Speaker 1: telling you, see these players, after we're done watching them
- 32:07Speaker 1: on the field, you'd say, man, they deserve a little
- 32:11Speaker 1: more money than they're getting from a league who just
- 32:12Speaker 1: prints money and makes billions of rebellions. That's my opinion anyway.
- 32:18Speaker 1: Four to five calls him chat GPDJ dan Is it
- 32:22Speaker 1: that pad? I don't know if it's that better not check.
- 32:25Speaker 1: I was wondering what that man. The Mariner is run
- 32:27Speaker 1: by chat GPT and AI. Are his decisions made by AI?
- 32:32Speaker 1: That would be a story and not a good one.
- 32:35Speaker 1: The Mayor Maple Valley I and Furness is going to

- 33:24Speaker 1: Welcome back, Greg Bell, Christopher Kay with you, now joined
- 33:26Speaker 1: by Ian Fernets, the mayor of Maple Valley joins us.
- 33:29Speaker 1: You're a ninety three point three KJRFM heading into his
- 33:32Speaker 1: show from twelve until three, where there should be a
- 33:35Speaker 1: very timely mollywop.
- 33:36Speaker 7: Yep, molly wopping today one o'clock. We're gonna probably do
- 33:40Speaker 7: it at one o'clock. Moving forward, we were doing one
- 33:42Speaker 7: twenty for the last little while. We'll probably go to
- 33:44Speaker 7: one one o'clock now one to one to one forty
- 33:47Speaker 7: or so. And uh, what a very mariner like week
- 33:50Speaker 7: that was?
- 33:51Speaker 1: Right?
- 33:51Speaker 7: You take two or three from the from the braves
- 33:54Speaker 7: best even baseball, he lose two to three. Now again
- 33:59Speaker 7: the White Sox aren't with they were right, They're a
- 34:00Speaker 7: little better, but they're still below five.
- 34:02Speaker 1: Ps two runs the last two games total.
- 34:05Speaker 7: And really think about how it could have been if
- 34:07Speaker 7: Luke Railey didn't go bananas on Friday, right seven RBI,
- 34:11Speaker 7: right like, that could have been not a great weekend.
- 34:13Speaker 7: So already wasn't a good weekend in that regard. So
- 34:16Speaker 7: but does it even matter in this al West. It's
- 34:18Speaker 7: a pillow fight.
- 34:18Speaker 1: Who cares?
- 34:19Speaker 8: That's why I think they should put Kawraly on. I
- 34:23Speaker 8: say that Earliers is not going anywhere. You know, you've
- 34:27Speaker 8: coached baseball a lot. I hate when us just armchair
- 34:32Speaker 8: jocks make comparisons, but I think you can in this case.
- 34:36Speaker 8: Anybody that golf knows this. And we've got our major
- 34:38Speaker 8: golf challenge this week, PGA Championship coming up here we go.
- 34:41Speaker 8: I think you know golf, Hitting a golf ball is
- 34:44Speaker 8: the closest thing to hitting a baseball in a sense,
- 34:46Speaker 8: small object, timings, everything. If you're off by a fraction
- 34:51Speaker 8: of something, it changes the whole dynamic of where the
- 34:54Speaker 8: ball goes and all those things. And if you're playing.
- 34:57Speaker 8: I know this as someone who's getting older as arthritis
- 35:00Speaker 8: in my knees and but loves the game of golf.
- 35:04Speaker 8: Like when you adjust something, not because you're truly injured,
- 35:07Speaker 8: Like injured to me means you can get worse. Right,
- 35:11Speaker 8: Sometimes you're just hurting. You just have something that's just
- 35:14Speaker 8: it's it's there and it needs to heal. You compensate
- 35:17Speaker 8: in any way, shape or form. Just to buy a
- 35:19Speaker 8: minuscule amount does it not affect everything, right, Like, if
- 35:22Speaker 8: I'm out there, I'm like, oh man, I didn't finish
- 35:24Speaker 8: that swing because my left knee is a little tweaked today,
- 35:27Speaker 8: it's a little swollen.
- 35:28Speaker 7: Today or whatever. It changes everything. Well, I'm as low
- 35:31Speaker 7: level as it gets. If cal Rawley is got his
- 35:34Speaker 7: feeling discomfort in his side, unless he's getting shot up
- 35:38Speaker 7: every day, which I kind of doubt that's the face hope. Like, seriously,
- 35:42Speaker 7: it's not like a football player where you do it
- 35:44Speaker 7: four or five times. No, if you're like, so, let's
- 35:46Speaker 7: assume there's some pain there, your body is going to adjust.
- 35:51Speaker 1: It could be as.
- 35:51Speaker 7: Simple as that. So, yeah, why would they not put
- 35:53Speaker 7: him on the injured list?
- 35:54Speaker 1: Simple because he doesn't want to go. That's you.
- 35:57Speaker 7: And how often do we hear you got to protect
- 35:59Speaker 7: the player exactly from him player? Yeah, I mean it's
- 36:02Speaker 7: just he's not helping the team. No, you know, it
- 36:04Speaker 7: just isn't.
- 36:06Speaker 1: I would put Cold Young at second, Donovan at first,
- 36:10Speaker 1: Cold Young at second. Juli Rodriguez, who, by the way,
- 36:12Speaker 1: is hitting an ops of one point oh one something
- 36:15Speaker 1: this month three thirty three batting average is seven to
- 36:18Speaker 1: sixty two slugging this month at one point oh one
- 36:20Speaker 1: to three. I think it is ops. Now put him
- 36:22Speaker 1: third Randy Rose Arena. Even though he throws like he's
- 36:27Speaker 1: hilarious in the outfield, he's just a constant adventure. But
- 36:31Speaker 1: I still love him as a player. He plays hard,
- 36:33Speaker 1: he hits the ball. Yeah, get him four or five? Four?
- 36:36Speaker 1: Do you move?
- 36:37Speaker 7: Do you move a guy that could have been the
- 36:38Speaker 7: MVP if he still line up all the way onto six?
- 36:40Speaker 7: That's what you're saying, because then Naylor, Yeah, he's gonna
- 36:43Speaker 7: hit behind Naylor Dallas, right.
- 36:45Speaker 1: Or sit him on the injured list for ten days?
- 36:49Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah, yeah, I think that's that to me would
- 36:53Speaker 7: be what you do. But I don't understand the baseball world.
- 36:58Speaker 7: I guess in a sense, like again I go back,
- 37:01Speaker 7: sometimes you got to protect the athlete from the athlete,
- 37:02Speaker 7: you know, like in Cal's a guy that's and we
- 37:05Speaker 7: love Cal raw because of who and what he is.
- 37:07Speaker 7: But you know, and if he's saying, don't put me
- 37:09Speaker 7: on the IL, I'm not heard or this and that,
- 37:11Speaker 7: but he's getting treatment apparently every day.
- 37:13Speaker 1: That's that was the key I took out of that case.
- 37:15Speaker 7: Yeah, so if that's the case, then what are we
- 37:18Speaker 7: doing right, right, especially in baseball.
- 37:20Speaker 1: Again, it's not football.
- 37:21Speaker 7: We all know that. We get lectured about that every
- 37:23Speaker 7: year in the first month of the season when they
- 37:25Speaker 7: come out scuffle and it's early in the year. It's
- 37:27Speaker 7: not like there's one of seventeen. No, No, it's what
- 37:30Speaker 7: do they have the how many games do they play?
- 37:32Speaker 7: It's one hundred and twenty some games left? Yeah, they
- 37:34Speaker 7: only play four one, Yeah, they're that the quarter mark.
- 37:37Speaker 7: They're twenty five games in.
- 37:38Speaker 1: Even if you sit him for ten games, you still
- 37:40Speaker 1: have one hundred and ten games left. Yeah.
- 37:42Speaker 7: Well, because I think we all again, I think that
- 37:45Speaker 7: they can win this division, the JV al Wes. They
- 37:49Speaker 7: can win that thing at five hundred, yes, but that's
- 37:52Speaker 7: not the goal for this team.
- 37:53Speaker 1: No. Right. But once you get in, as I've heard
- 37:57Speaker 1: you yourself say in baseball, just get in, just get in.
- 38:00Speaker 7: But if you just get in and you still have
- 38:02Speaker 7: an issue with the guy that should be your best player, correct,
- 38:05Speaker 7: then you've got a problem.
- 38:07Speaker 1: A problem You're gonna get in by putting him on
- 38:08Speaker 1: the injured list and having them come.
- 38:09Speaker 7: Back and you could be to miss the next month,
- 38:11Speaker 7: and you're gonna get in. I think he can miss
- 38:14Speaker 7: the next month and you're still gonna get it?
- 38:16Speaker 1: What else you get?
- 38:18Speaker 7: So well, ma wop our buddy Gary Parris will join
- 38:20Speaker 7: us at two o'clock when I went to track him
- 38:22Speaker 7: down to get thoughts on the NBA or the NCAA
- 38:25Speaker 7: expansion of the tournament, which is just a horrible idea
- 38:28Speaker 7: on every level.
- 38:29Speaker 1: No one wanted it, no one needed it.
- 38:30Speaker 7: It's an amazing phenomenon that I yes, nobody wanted it,
- 38:35Speaker 7: like literally miss the.
- 38:38Speaker 1: Programs didn't want it.
- 38:39Speaker 7: No, because you can make the tournament and play on
- 38:41Speaker 7: a Tuesday or Wednesday and still get fired as a
- 38:43Speaker 7: coach conference.
- 38:45Speaker 1: Especially because you go under five hundred to get in
- 38:48Speaker 1: those first four games, right exactly.
- 38:49Speaker 7: So we'll check in with him and then we'll talk
- 38:51Speaker 7: a little bit about Seahawks. I think it's an interesting conversation.
- 38:53Speaker 7: I probably leaning towards the Bears, right, but get some
- 38:56Speaker 7: thoughts on that as well.
- 38:57Speaker 1: That's and ford Ess Anderson Hurst joined Jessmans still thinking
- 39:01Speaker 1: the East Coast justice here. Oh good, she came back
- 39:03Speaker 1: her father. Yeah, got inducted into the high school Hall
- 39:06Speaker 1: of Fame. That was really cool. Yeah, absolutely also cool
- 39:09Speaker 1: that she sent me a text to her nephew was
- 39:12Speaker 1: rooting for Army lacrosse and said, Army over Navy anytime,
- 39:15Speaker 1: all day is know what he said, Smile and you
- 39:18Speaker 1: said yes, Christopher Kind and I thanking you for listening.
- 39:24Speaker 1: We'll be on again tomorrow attendingnoon. Ian is up next.
- 39:26Speaker 1: Mollywop is at one on ninety three point three kJ
