- 0:00Speaker 1: Guess who? It's 10 o'clock. Do you care where your
- 0:03Speaker 1: parents are?
- 0:04Speaker 2: The following feature has been rated R by the Motion
- 0:06Speaker 2: Picture Association of America.
- 0:08Speaker 3: It is intended for mature audiences and parental discretion is advised.
- 0:20Speaker 1: This is not a drill. Repeat, this is not the drill.
- 0:25Speaker 4: At this time, we are requesting the immediate and orderly evacuation.
- 0:31Speaker 1: Of the vicinity.
- 0:34Speaker 2: The Coast Guard and the Navy have been alerted and
- 0:38Speaker 2: are standing by on the eastern seaboard. And it continues
- 0:42Speaker 2: to burn out of control.
- 0:43Speaker 5: It has been regular.
- 0:44Speaker 6: Every five to ten minutes, there has been another convoy
- 0:47Speaker 6: of units, fire.
- 0:48Speaker 2: Companies, paramedics... A citywide emergency has been declared.
- 0:52Speaker 7: Police officers are still on tactical full alert.
- 0:56Speaker 1: 2,000 National Guardsmen are standing by.
- 0:58Speaker 5: Air defense warning read. It's time for Movie Meltdown's Attack
- 1:06Speaker 5: of the Killers soundtrack.
- 1:08Speaker 8: Live transmission has begun, and we're into the final.
- 1:12Speaker 3: Hour of hell.
- 1:32Speaker 6: What's up and welcome to Movie Meltdown's Attack of the
- 1:34Speaker 6: Killer soundtrack. I am Brian and I'm coming to you
- 1:37Speaker 6: live via digital recording from Four Castle Festival here in Louisville, Kentucky. Actually,
- 1:42Speaker 6: it's sunny for the moment. Louisville, Kentucky.
- 1:46Speaker 9: We were evacuated earlier.
- 1:47Speaker 6: Yeah, that's kind of why I bring that up. It
- 1:50Speaker 6: wasn't so sunny for a minute and a half, and
- 1:51Speaker 6: everybody freaked out. It's all okay now. It's all good.
- 1:56Speaker 6: With me, as you would have heard, would be Teresa. So,
- 2:01Speaker 6: say hello.
- 2:02Speaker 10: Hi.
- 2:04Speaker 6: To do some minor backstory, I've known you for years.
- 2:08Speaker 6: I hardly ever see you. But my tie-in for the
- 2:11Speaker 6: show was, if I remember correctly... You were one of
- 2:14Speaker 6: the first people I remember pitching the show to as
- 2:18Speaker 6: an idea. And I think I brought this up a
- 2:21Speaker 6: year or so ago, and you were like, I don't
- 2:22Speaker 6: remember that. So it may not be memorable, but other than,
- 2:27Speaker 6: I do remember trying to convince Misty to do it
- 2:28Speaker 6: early on, and she was equally as not interested as now.
- 2:32Speaker 6: And then, like, about the only other person I remember
- 2:34Speaker 6: at the time was giving you the whole spiel, and
- 2:37Speaker 6: you seemed to pretend like it was a good idea.
- 2:40Speaker 6: So whether you meant it or not, you've led to
- 2:42Speaker 6: this moment.
- 2:43Speaker 9: I have to say, was I drinking?
- 2:45Speaker 6: It would have been inappropriate in that situation, but I
- 2:47Speaker 6: wouldn't put it past you. I mean, I've seen you
- 2:50Speaker 6: today throwing them back. So, I mean. So, you never know.
- 2:53Speaker 6: Watching a group of children and driving a bus or
- 2:56Speaker 6: whatever it was you were doing. I mean, you really
- 2:58Speaker 6: shouldn't have been drinking all that. Anyway, that's a side.
- 3:01Speaker 6: We're working on an intervention.
- 3:02Speaker 10: Well, then I will just say. My old bones, my
- 3:05Speaker 10: old brain, I cannot take responsibility for remembering things. It's
- 3:09Speaker 10: still a good idea, though, because when you bitched the
- 3:11Speaker 10: second time, I still said it was a good idea.
- 3:12Speaker 6: That was like four years later.
- 3:14Speaker 10: I just didn't remember it.
- 3:15Speaker 6: We were in the middle of a convention, so yeah.
- 3:17Speaker 10: Well, you know, it's still a good idea.
- 3:19Speaker 6: That's still arguable, even from me, but hopefully someone out
- 3:22Speaker 6: there appreciates what we do.
- 3:25Speaker 11: I don't know.
- 3:26Speaker 6: So, we are coming to you live, sort of, kind of.
- 3:32Speaker 6: From Fourcastle. Do we want to do a basic intro here?
- 3:36Speaker 6: Your take on it so far?
- 3:37Speaker 10: Well, Fourcastle is a super cool event that happens in Louisville.
- 3:40Speaker 10: I love that it happens. I'm really excited that I
- 3:43Speaker 10: get to come for free.
- 3:44Speaker 6: We're by the road, by the way. We are in
- 3:45Speaker 6: the middle of the festivities, but we've ventured off close
- 3:48Speaker 6: to the road is why you hear traffic behind us.
- 3:51Speaker 6: Continue on.
- 3:54Speaker 10: So, yeah, super cool event. A little pricey for my taste, typically,
- 3:58Speaker 10: but I get to volunteer.
- 4:00Speaker 9: And help people.
- 4:00Speaker 6: And you don't even know anything.
- 4:02Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 4:02Speaker 9: I'm the info booth and I don't know anything.
- 4:07Speaker 10: But then that allows me to come and get a
- 4:10Speaker 10: chance to check out the really diverse crowd and music
- 4:14Speaker 10: that they have.
- 4:15Speaker 9: And I love that.
- 4:17Speaker 6: Music, yes. Crowd, it depends.
- 4:19Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 4:19Speaker 10: The crowd is pretty diverse.
- 4:20Speaker 9: I mean, we're talking the age range is from like five.
- 4:25Speaker 2: To 90.
- 4:26Speaker 6: The age I will give you. We'll come back around
- 4:28Speaker 6: to some of the others.
- 4:29Speaker 9: We've got hippies to hipsters.
- 4:31Speaker 6: That's the thing. I was glad. Because this was the
- 4:34Speaker 6: other one I was like, I was trying to, as usual,
- 4:37Speaker 6: most of our regular crew has bailed like they do.
- 4:41Speaker 6: Feel free to email them and tell them they suck.
- 4:43Speaker 6: But I found out you were coming. So I'm like, okay, well,
- 4:45Speaker 6: that will be good. Because as I got here yesterday,
- 4:47Speaker 6: yesterday I was here by myself. And I'm like, I
- 4:49Speaker 6: really hope at some point we can sit down and talk.
- 4:52Speaker 6: Because otherwise... My solo podcast is going to come off
- 4:55Speaker 6: something like Blair Witch. It's just going to be me going, guys, guys.
- 4:59Speaker 13: I'm really, I'm really afraid.
- 5:01Speaker 6: I'm surrounded by hippies. And it smells funny here. And
- 5:07Speaker 6: it'll be the last thing that was ever, you know,
- 5:09Speaker 6: recorded from me. So I'm glad now it's a little
- 5:13Speaker 6: more relaxed. There's a nice breeze going here. I can
- 5:16Speaker 6: have a somewhat normal conversation because there were some weird
- 5:19Speaker 6: people out there yesterday.
- 5:21Speaker 10: So I said hippies, hipsters, and there are some hip
- 5:24Speaker 10: hopsters here.
- 5:26Speaker 6: Oh, Jesus. This is a very specific breakdown. How do
- 5:29Speaker 6: you pin that one down?
- 5:32Speaker 9: Well, so if you go hang out by the ocean stage.
- 5:35Speaker 6: It's a very nautical themed event, by the way, if
- 5:38Speaker 6: you're not here right now. It's all about ships and
- 5:42Speaker 6: oceans and boats. There's a boat on every poster they've
- 5:45Speaker 6: ever had. Anyway, moving on.
- 5:47Speaker 2: Ship.
- 5:47Speaker 6: I'm sorry. Nautical people will correct me.
- 5:50Speaker 10: But yes, if you go by the ocean stage where
- 5:53Speaker 10: they play the techno dance.
- 5:55Speaker 6: The DJ.
- 5:56Speaker 9: DJ kind of stuff.
- 5:58Speaker 10: Then you can find some hip hopsters. And then you
- 6:00Speaker 10: find also some hippies who are like doing their little.
- 6:03Speaker 6: Hippie dance.
- 6:04Speaker 10: Hippie dance that they think is like a trancey dance. Yeah.
- 6:08Speaker 10: It's interesting.
- 6:09Speaker 6: Just because you're on that now, we were walking behind
- 6:12Speaker 6: one earlier, and she was doing the hippie dance as
- 6:16Speaker 6: she was walking away, and then she kind of stopped
- 6:18Speaker 6: and started walking normal, and it's almost like she forgot
- 6:21Speaker 6: and then went, oh, yeah, I'm supposed to be doing
- 6:22Speaker 6: that dance. And she, like, forcefully, like, went back into
- 6:25Speaker 6: it mid-groove, and I was like, I think she's faking
- 6:29Speaker 6: the hippie dance.
- 6:29Speaker 10: And she was not a hippie because her clothes are
- 6:31Speaker 10: from the mall.
- 6:33Speaker 6: Sorry to break that to you. Real hippies can't afford
- 6:35Speaker 6: to go to the mall.
- 6:36Speaker 9: But her clothes were not hippie clothes.
- 6:41Speaker 6: Well, we've gone into the clothes earlier, too. I want
- 6:44Speaker 6: to get to at least my favorite one from yesterday.
- 6:46Speaker 6: So I was trying to remember all the key elements.
- 6:49Speaker 10: Of this chick.
- 6:49Speaker 9: Someone is checking us out with our mics, too. He's like,
- 6:51Speaker 9: what's going on?
- 6:52Speaker 6: Oh, they should, because we're cool. Look how cool we are.
- 6:55Speaker 6: We are the rock stars, buddy. Come on now.
- 6:57Speaker 10: You don't know how important we are. You're wondering.
- 6:59Speaker 6: We are important. Otherwise, we wouldn't have the microphone.
- 7:01Speaker 1: Right.
- 7:03Speaker 6: Big boy told me that yesterday. Anyway, so there were
- 7:08Speaker 6: two or three. I mean, there's some points when I
- 7:10Speaker 6: have to, like, stop and just laugh at people. I'm sorry.
- 7:13Speaker 6: I know I'm a judgmental jackass, but oh, my God.
- 7:17Speaker 6: The guy yesterday who had to make sure I was
- 7:20Speaker 6: referencing the right cast member from Fat Albert. That pimpin'
- 7:24Speaker 6: hat that Rudy used to wear, only a little bigger
- 7:27Speaker 6: than Rudy's. Oh, goodness. It was enlarged as a hat
- 7:31Speaker 6: can be. He also had a patchwork of material on
- 7:35Speaker 6: his shorts. It was all different types of materials and
- 7:39Speaker 6: regular and denim and corduroy and it was just this
- 7:42Speaker 6: like he's wearing a quilt of some sort. And then
- 7:45Speaker 6: he's got like some sort of moonstone and a bag
- 7:49Speaker 6: tied around his neck and like There's just, after a while,
- 7:52Speaker 6: I'm like, it's so much hippie piled on top of hippie.
- 7:54Speaker 6: I'm like, I just got to laugh at it.
- 7:56Speaker 10: And the thing is, you know that everything he's wearing
- 8:00Speaker 10: cost a lot of money.
- 8:01Speaker 13: I don't know.
- 8:03Speaker 10: He did not make any of it.
- 8:04Speaker 6: He looked pretty broke. Yeah, I'm sure he didn't make it.
- 8:05Speaker 9: I'm telling you, he didn't make any of it.
- 8:07Speaker 6: He didn't look crafty enough to make a damn thing.
- 8:09Speaker 10: But he may look pretty broke, but I guarantee you
- 8:13Speaker 10: mom and dad have some cash.
- 8:14Speaker 6: Probably.
- 8:15Speaker 9: And bought him his little outfit. And then he's working
- 8:17Speaker 9: really hard on looking broke.
- 8:18Speaker 6: Fucking poser hippies.
- 8:19Speaker 4: So.
- 8:21Speaker 6: No, my favorite. And some of you guys here may
- 8:25Speaker 6: know who it is because I'm sure once I start
- 8:27Speaker 6: describing it, it's not tough to pick her out of
- 8:29Speaker 6: a lineup. So she was here yesterday and she came
- 8:32Speaker 6: cruising up and I will admit at first I was
- 8:33Speaker 6: kind of like, what the hell is she doing? I
- 8:36Speaker 6: changed my vote as I went along. But let me
- 8:38Speaker 6: sort of give you a description of her. So she
- 8:40Speaker 6: has an entirely shaved head on one side, relatively like
- 8:45Speaker 6: shoulder length hair on the other. She was wearing a
- 8:49Speaker 6: sleeveless unitard That had sort of like a space pattern
- 8:54Speaker 6: on it, like an outer space pattern all over her.
- 8:58Speaker 6: She also had some sort of like animal fur. I'm
- 9:02Speaker 6: assuming in this crowd it would be fake. But some
- 9:04Speaker 6: sort of animal looking thing, but it was really thin.
- 9:07Speaker 6: So it was almost sort of like a scarf. But
- 9:11Speaker 6: maybe it was like a fur, just like a really
- 9:12Speaker 6: thin normal fur. I couldn't tell exactly what it was.
- 9:16Speaker 9: You didn't walk up and ask her if you could
- 9:18Speaker 9: pet it?
- 9:18Speaker 6: After a while, I was just sort of mesmerized. I
- 9:20Speaker 6: just kind of sat there looking at her. She obviously,
- 9:25Speaker 6: in this scenario and with that, not surprised that she
- 9:27Speaker 6: has tons of tattoos and piercings. That's fine. Again, in
- 9:30Speaker 6: this crowd, that's kind of.
- 9:31Speaker 13: Normal, actually.
- 9:32Speaker 6: But then she was also underneath a black lace parasol.
- 9:38Speaker 13: Nice.
- 9:39Speaker 10: So instead of the sunscreen, and maybe in addition to sunscreen...
- 9:42Speaker 10: She was further protecting herself from the evil sun rays.
- 9:44Speaker 6: I would hope so. I mean, in this day and
- 9:46Speaker 6: age with melanoma the way it is, and on top
- 9:49Speaker 6: of that, having that many tattoos, you really got to
- 9:51Speaker 6: protect yourself. So please, go to town. So yeah, at
- 9:54Speaker 6: first I was just like, what the hell is she doing?
- 9:56Speaker 6: And then the more I sat there mesmerized by her,
- 9:58Speaker 6: I was like, you know what, she's kind of making
- 10:00Speaker 6: it work. Sometimes you just, you cross the line and
- 10:03Speaker 6: you come back around and by the end I was like,
- 10:06Speaker 6: go for it, sister. You go to town. You just
- 10:08Speaker 6: go ahead, wear that crazy ass outfit proudly. Because she
- 10:12Speaker 6: was kind of making it work.
- 10:14Speaker 10: And honestly, when I see crazy ass outfits, I may initially...
- 10:18Speaker 10: They could judge them and be like, oh, my God.
- 10:20Speaker 10: But then in the end, I'm just like, you know what?
- 10:22Speaker 10: Kudos to you for either not caring and doing what
- 10:27Speaker 10: you want to do.
- 10:27Speaker 9: Well, really, just not caring and doing what you want
- 10:30Speaker 9: to do.
- 10:31Speaker 6: That totally seemed like her attitude yesterday.
- 10:33Speaker 10: It's like, do what you want to do. Be yourself.
- 10:36Speaker 9: And that's... Who cares what anyone else thinks?
- 10:39Speaker 6: I still reserve the right to make fun of you. Yeah, absolutely.
- 10:41Speaker 6: But totally do your own thing.
- 10:42Speaker 13: Yeah, no, totally.
- 10:44Speaker 6: I support that.
- 10:44Speaker 10: Because I know people are going to make fun of
- 10:46Speaker 10: me sometimes.
- 10:46Speaker 6: I was like, I understand we go places and people
- 10:48Speaker 6: are totally making fun of us. That's fine. I expect that.
- 10:51Speaker 6: I usually welcome it and we make fun of each
- 10:53Speaker 6: other as we go along. Right, exactly. It's expected. This is,
- 10:57Speaker 6: in fact, the music episode. So I guess we should
- 10:59Speaker 6: venture into some sort of music before we get too far.
- 11:01Speaker 10: Music!
- 11:03Speaker 6: I thought, just because... We're sitting here in the middle
- 11:07Speaker 6: of a big music festival. I mean, we should kind
- 11:11Speaker 6: of kick it off music festival style. And what's your go-to?
- 11:16Speaker 6: I mean, there's only one that kind of started this nonsense.
- 11:19Speaker 10: Lollapalooza!
- 11:20Speaker 6: Please, I'm going old school.
- 11:22Speaker 10: Oh, you're going for a.
- 11:24Speaker 6: I'm delving into the Woodstock soundtrack.
- 11:27Speaker 14: Yeah, yeah.
- 11:28Speaker 6: The original. That was the first.
- 11:30Speaker 9: Oh, that and the Monterey Jazz Festival.
- 11:32Speaker 6: It's so cliche at this point, and everybody's kind of
- 11:35Speaker 6: sick of most of those songs because they're so normal,
- 11:38Speaker 6: like everybody's used to them. But at the same time,
- 11:40Speaker 6: you almost have to give it credit that, number one...
- 11:43Speaker 6: Nobody did concerts like that before then. Nobody did a
- 11:47Speaker 6: soundtrack to something like that. And nobody did a movie
- 11:50Speaker 6: like that. Specifically, the way that they shot it, those
- 11:53Speaker 6: weird split screens and multi-camera and all the weird elements
- 11:58Speaker 6: that they put in there were actually kind of groundbreaking
- 12:01Speaker 6: at the time. And we're used to them now, especially
- 12:04Speaker 6: going through music video era. That's all they did. It
- 12:08Speaker 6: became standard. But if you go back and look at
- 12:10Speaker 6: what they were doing for its time period... It was
- 12:13Speaker 6: pretty revolutionary, so I had to at least give it credit.
- 12:17Speaker 6: And I was going to try to pick something slightly
- 12:19Speaker 6: less that you don't hear on the radio constantly. Okay, good. So,
- 12:24Speaker 6: not that there's anything wrong with Jimmy. I'll play Jimmy
- 12:26Speaker 6: all day. But I thought with this one we would
- 12:29Speaker 6: go with Coming Into Los Angeles from Arlo Guthrie.
- 12:32Speaker 10: Oh, I love Arlo.
- 12:34Speaker 6: That would seem fitting for today's festivity.
- 12:36Speaker 9: Actually, I think I saw Arlo live.
- 12:39Speaker 6: Not in concert, just like hanging out at McDonald's?
- 12:41Speaker 9: No, no, I mean live in concert.
- 12:43Speaker 14: Yeah, no.
- 12:44Speaker 10: Not just alive, but live performing. Sometimes I have a
- 12:48Speaker 10: hard time remembering all the people I've seen and haven't seen,
- 12:51Speaker 10: but I'm pretty sure I saw Arlo Guthrie when he
- 12:54Speaker 10: played Louisville. Pretty sure he played Louisville when I was
- 12:56Speaker 10: in high school.
- 12:57Speaker 6: They had music back then?
- 12:59Speaker 9: They did, it was crazy.
- 13:00Speaker 15: I know.
- 13:01Speaker 9: They had venues back then.
- 13:02Speaker 6: What the hell are you saying?
- 13:03Speaker 9: I think I went with my parents.
- 13:04Speaker 6: Out on the side of the river? Oh wait, that's
- 13:06Speaker 6: where we are now.
- 13:08Speaker 9: Yeah, no, this wasn't around.
- 13:10Speaker 6: The river?
- 13:11Speaker 10: The river.
- 13:12Speaker 6: That's going way back.
- 13:13Speaker 10: Out on the side by the river.
- 13:15Speaker 6: Oh, that fancy little area we have out there now.
- 13:17Speaker 10: Yeah, it's not now.
- 13:18Speaker 6: I believe that.
- 13:20Speaker 16: Coming in from London, from over the pole. Flying in
- 13:25Speaker 16: a big airline. Chicken flying everywhere around the plane.
- 13:33Speaker 14: Could we ever feel.
- 13:35Speaker 16: Much finer Coming into Los Angeles Bringing in a couple
- 13:43Speaker 16: of keys Don't touch my bags if you please Mr.
- 13:49Speaker 17: Customsman Guy with the ticket to Mexico No, it wouldn't
- 14:00Speaker 17: look much.
- 14:00Speaker 16: Stranger Walkin' in a hall with his things and all
- 14:07Speaker 16: Smilin' said he was a lone ranger Comin' into Los Angeles.
- 14:16Speaker 14: Bringin' in a couple of keys Don't touch my bags
- 14:22Speaker 14: if you please Mr.
- 14:24Speaker 16: Custom Man.
- 14:42Speaker 18: Yes, it is woman walking on a moving floor.
- 15:07Speaker 14: Ripping on the escalator.
- 15:10Speaker 16: There's a man in the line and she's blowing his mind.
- 15:15Speaker 16: Thinking that he's already met her. Coming into Los Angeles.
- 15:24Speaker 14: Bringing in a couple of keys. Don't touch my bags
- 15:29Speaker 14: if you please, Mr. Customsman.
- 15:36Speaker 16: Coming from London, from over the pole. Flying in a
- 15:42Speaker 16: big air liner. Hot chicken flying everywhere around the plane.
- 15:49Speaker 14: Should we ever be over?
- 15:51Speaker 5: Shut your face, hippie.
- 15:52Speaker 9: Well, I'm just looking to see if, yes, I did
- 15:55Speaker 9: indeed see him.
- 15:55Speaker 6: Do you have a log of everyone you've seen?
- 15:58Speaker 9: No, I'm looking up on his, I'm looking at Arlo.net.
- 16:03Speaker 6: I wouldn't put it past you.
- 16:05Speaker 10: You know, and that's the problem. Like, I'll be sitting
- 16:07Speaker 10: there and all of a sudden I'll be like, oh, wait,
- 16:09Speaker 10: I think I'll hear something that triggers a memory.
- 16:13Speaker 7: I think I saw them live.
- 16:14Speaker 6: I think I did that. I'm at least pretty good.
- 16:16Speaker 6: I actually, I'm pretty sure I remember everybody I've seen.
- 16:20Speaker 6: But it's not near what you have, I'm sure.
- 16:22Speaker 10: Yeah, no, I'm really bad.
- 16:24Speaker 1: I don't actually.
- 16:24Speaker 6: Well, you are far more musical. So that's another reason
- 16:28Speaker 6: I thought it would be good to work you in
- 16:29Speaker 6: this episode, you know. I definitely have my feet in
- 16:33Speaker 6: the music waters, but, you know, I think you've invested
- 16:36Speaker 6: a good portion of your time and life into the
- 16:39Speaker 6: music world. So I thought it would be, you know,
- 16:42Speaker 6: a nice tie into working.
- 16:43Speaker 10: Well, so I honestly can't tell you whether I did
- 16:46Speaker 10: in fact see Arlo Guthrie because.
- 16:47Speaker 6: Drunk again. Damn it.
- 16:51Speaker 10: I'm like, did I just imagine it or did I...
- 16:54Speaker 10: Maybe I'm just confusing it with Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young,
- 16:57Speaker 10: who I did definitely see.
- 16:58Speaker 6: Maybe it was Woody Guthrie, and you were going way back.
- 17:01Speaker 10: Yeah, no, I think he was dead before I was born.
- 17:04Speaker 6: So you say. I'm not buying it.
- 17:05Speaker 9: I mean, I could have gone back in time, Doctor
- 17:07Speaker 9: Who style.
- 17:08Speaker 6: I'm working on that. I've got a DeLorean that I'm
- 17:11Speaker 6: working on.
- 17:12Speaker 13: Anyway.
- 17:13Speaker 6: So that was, in fact, coming into Los Angeles from
- 17:15Speaker 6: Arlo Guthrie, which I thought was a double tie-in. I mean,
- 17:19Speaker 6: number one, Los Angeles obviously has its movie tie-ins as well.
- 17:23Speaker 6: But it's also laced with drug references, which reminded me
- 17:27Speaker 6: of last night when I saw Old Crow Medicine Show.
- 17:30Speaker 6: And every one of their songs is nothing but drug references.
- 17:35Speaker 6: It's very odd for the kind of band that they
- 17:37Speaker 6: are and the kind of music they play, just how
- 17:40Speaker 6: heavy with drugs they are in every song. I mean,
- 17:44Speaker 6: I guess that happens in every area and walk of life.
- 17:48Speaker 6: People love them some drugs, I suppose.
- 17:49Speaker 12: They do.
- 17:50Speaker 6: They do.
- 17:51Speaker 10: Gets them in trouble, but man.
- 17:52Speaker 9: I hear it really influences their music.
- 17:55Speaker 6: Musicians doing drugs. Who thought we would ever see the day?
- 17:58Speaker 10: I know.
- 17:59Speaker 6: Craziness. So moving into the next one here, I did
- 18:03Speaker 6: want to, this will tie back into our discussion before
- 18:06Speaker 6: of the diversity. Because as I wandered around, before I
- 18:10Speaker 6: made it to Old Crow Medicine Show, I wandered to
- 18:13Speaker 6: the other stage. We have many stages here. We're pretty fancy.
- 18:16Speaker 6: Like one of those, you know, outdoor festivals are. And
- 18:19Speaker 6: the other one was, in fact, Big Boi. Let's just
- 18:22Speaker 6: go into this. Of the different types of hippies and
- 18:26Speaker 6: hipsters and 19-year-olds and 90-year-olds, there's a lot of white
- 18:30Speaker 6: people here.
- 18:31Speaker 9: Awful lot of white people.
- 18:33Speaker 6: So, I mean, nothing against the... We actually have a
- 18:36Speaker 6: pretty diverse city, I will say, if you take it
- 18:38Speaker 6: all into account. But the other elements really haven't.
- 18:43Speaker 9: They just pulled rope out of the flowers.
- 18:45Speaker 6: That's where I keep my home.
- 18:46Speaker 9: Someone was stashing rope in the flowers.
- 18:48Speaker 6: Doesn't everybody have rope? Never mind.
- 18:52Speaker 9: No, I don't keep my rope in the flowers.
- 18:54Speaker 6: I keep it next to the bed. I keep it
- 18:55Speaker 6: in the garage, in the dungeon.
- 18:58Speaker 14: Oh, wait.
- 18:58Speaker 6: Never mind. Never mind. So, anyway, white people. They're lame.
- 19:04Speaker 6: My point. Yeah, there was a lot of people over
- 19:07Speaker 6: there at the stage with Big Boy. And if you
- 19:10Speaker 6: yourself are, in fact, white or old or lame, Big
- 19:14Speaker 6: Boy is the other half of OutKast and is sort of,
- 19:19Speaker 6: you know, hip-hop and rap-like. So watching this entire crowd
- 19:24Speaker 6: of white people, half of them weren't even trying to dance.
- 19:28Speaker 6: It was kind of sad, actually. They were mostly standing there,
- 19:31Speaker 6: which I do too, but I totally own up to
- 19:33Speaker 6: my whiteness, so I don't pretend, which I guess I
- 19:36Speaker 6: appreciate them not dancing, because I've seen some scary attempts
- 19:42Speaker 6: at that this past 24 hours as well. But it
- 19:46Speaker 6: was just so sad. I was just like watching all
- 19:48Speaker 6: these white people not know how to they just seemed
- 19:51Speaker 6: to just out of their element and confused and i
- 19:55Speaker 6: i don't know what to do so i thought of
- 19:57Speaker 6: nothing else we better work a little soul into this episode.
- 20:10Speaker 5: Now it's time for some Blaxploitation appreciation. You're damn right.
- 20:22Speaker 6: Each episode, we will delve into a different track from
- 20:25Speaker 6: a Blaxploitation film. And usually they are, in fact, quite soulful.
- 20:30Speaker 6: So this time... We are going with, I thought these
- 20:33Speaker 6: people needed as much funk in their system as possible.
- 20:36Speaker 6: So we're going with James Brown. And people get up
- 20:40Speaker 6: and drive your funky soul from the 1973 film Slaughter's
- 20:44Speaker 6: Big Ripoff. Slaughter's Big Ripoff.
- 21:00Speaker 8: Raise up, get yourself together, and drive that funky soul.
- 21:04Speaker 19: Get up, get.
- 21:06Speaker 8: Yourself together, and drive your funky soul. They're doing it
- 21:10Speaker 8: down in Nassau. Drive that funky soul.
- 21:15Speaker 9: They're doing it by the beach.
- 21:17Speaker 8: And driving that funky soul new york get yourself together
- 21:22Speaker 8: and drive your funky soul let your body pop and
- 21:27Speaker 8: let your feeling fold raise up get yourself together and
- 21:32Speaker 8: drive that funky soul when i say sagittarius And drive
- 21:37Speaker 8: that funky soul When I say Pisces holler And drive
- 21:42Speaker 8: your funky soul When I say Gemini And drive that
- 21:48Speaker 8: funky soul When I say Capricorn And drive your funky
- 21:53Speaker 8: soul When I say Scorpio, Virgo And drive your funky
- 21:58Speaker 8: soul If I say Cancer Can you drive that monkey soul?
- 22:04Speaker 20: Raise up!
- 22:05Speaker 11: Get yourself together and drive.
- 22:07Speaker 13: Your monkey soul. Slaughter!
- 22:09Speaker 10: Get on up!
- 22:10Speaker 8: Get yourself together and drive that monkey soul.
- 22:14Speaker 14: Leo!
- 22:14Speaker 8: Get yourself together and drive your monkey soul.
- 22:18Speaker 5: Aquarius!
- 22:19Speaker 8: Get yourself together and drive that monkey soul. Get yourself
- 22:25Speaker 8: together and drive that monkey soul. Get up, get yourself
- 22:30Speaker 8: together and drive that monkey soul. Get yourself together and
- 22:36Speaker 8: drive that monkey soul. Driving, driving, I need some money.
- 22:42Speaker 6: Do you need some money?
- 22:44Speaker 8: Drive that monkey soul.
- 22:48Speaker 6: The cat's on the corner.
- 22:49Speaker 8: Drive that monkey's soul. The girl's on the stand out there.
- 22:55Speaker 10: Drive that monkey's soul.
- 22:57Speaker 1: Raise up.
- 22:57Speaker 6: Get your stuff together.
- 23:00Speaker 21: Drive that.
- 23:01Speaker 13: Woo! Raise up.
- 23:02Speaker 11: Get your stuff together. Drive that monkey's bread.
- 23:08Speaker 13: Hit it. Hit it.
- 23:10Speaker 1: Hit it.
- 23:12Speaker 2: Woo!
- 23:18Speaker 4: It ain't a good night. It ain't a good night.
- 23:26Speaker 14: It ain't a good night.
- 23:29Speaker 11: It ain't a good night.
- 23:32Speaker 16: And that's all.
- 23:33Speaker 22: Where's Germany? I said they're driving that funky soul. In Georgia,
- 23:39Speaker 22: they're driving that funky soul. They're driving that funky soul.
- 23:44Speaker 22: And in Washington and Baltimore, finish up, yeah. Georgia, Chicago, St.
- 23:53Speaker 4: Louis, Houston, Dallas.
- 23:56Speaker 7: Whoo!
- 24:02Speaker 4: Hey all you jive hustlers, you stone foxes, you mean dudes.
- 24:06Speaker 8: Watch out, cause slaughter's back in town.
- 24:32Speaker 3: Jim Brown is Slaughter, the baddest cat that ever walked
- 24:36Speaker 3: the earth. In Slaughter, he tore up the mob good.
- 24:42Speaker 3: Now they want him bad. They're going to get Slaughter
- 24:48Speaker 3: or get slaughtered. In Slaughter's Big Ripoff. Music composed and
- 25:00Speaker 3: performed by James Brown, the godfather of soul. Slaughter's Big
- 25:07Speaker 3: Ripoff from American International. Rated R, under 17, not admitted
- 25:12Speaker 3: without parent.
- 25:14Speaker 5: Slaughter's Big Ripoff.
- 25:16Speaker 14: It's hot.
- 25:18Speaker 23: It's in the fridge, daddy-o.
- 25:20Speaker 3: Are you happy with the job?
- 25:21Speaker 24: Can you dig what I'm laying down?
- 25:22Speaker 2: I knew that you could.
- 25:23Speaker 25: Slide me some skin.
- 25:24Speaker 10: So, brother?
- 25:25Speaker 6: They needed as much help as possible.
- 25:27Speaker 25: Absolutely.
- 25:28Speaker 9: And not even from a white soul person.
- 25:30Speaker 10: Very good.
- 25:31Speaker 6: There's a couple of those. I know what I wanted
- 25:33Speaker 6: to discuss. So, you've been to outdoor festivals before somewhere
- 25:38Speaker 6: along the way, I believe, right?
- 25:40Speaker 10: Lollapalooza.
- 25:41Speaker 6: All right.
- 25:43Speaker 10: And then a couple of different hippie festivals that I
- 25:45Speaker 10: randomly got drugged to.
- 25:48Speaker 6: Drugged and taken to? That's how I heard that. Anyway, so.
- 25:55Speaker 6: You weren't doing it today, so I can safely say
- 25:57Speaker 6: today you're not that person. At these other festivals, were
- 25:59Speaker 6: you ever the person carrying something on a stick?
- 26:02Speaker 3: No.
- 26:03Speaker 10: I've never been that person.
- 26:04Speaker 6: What the hell? I've been to many an indoor concert,
- 26:09Speaker 6: and I've been to a couple of these years ago
- 26:11Speaker 6: before they became this kind of crazy. They were just
- 26:13Speaker 6: like normal local people hanging out in the park years ago.
- 26:17Speaker 6: It's a very different thing today than it used to be.
- 26:19Speaker 6: Which isn't bad. It's just bigger and has more of
- 26:22Speaker 6: that Lollapalooza Bonnaroo feel. But I've never seen so many
- 26:27Speaker 6: people carrying a something on a stick. Usually it's a
- 26:30Speaker 6: stuffed something or other or a hat or.
- 26:33Speaker 9: A lot of it is the Squalus Puppeteers, though.
- 26:37Speaker 14: No.
- 26:38Speaker 6: I've seen those. Those are fine. In fact, that's one
- 26:40Speaker 6: of the most impressive things I've seen was the giant
- 26:43Speaker 6: Hunter S. Thompson puppet walking around. And by giant, I
- 26:47Speaker 6: mean huge. How big do we think that thing is?
- 26:50Speaker 9: I mean, four or five people at least.
- 26:52Speaker 6: Yeah, it's massive. I took pictures.
- 26:54Speaker 10: Larger than life.
- 26:55Speaker 6: We'll be posting it on the Facebook page. So if
- 26:57Speaker 6: you're not friends with me or the show on Facebook,
- 27:00Speaker 6: it's your own damn fault. You should get to that.
- 27:03Speaker 10: Well, see, I always assumed that the smaller things on
- 27:06Speaker 10: sticks were just kind of like teasers for Squalus.
- 27:11Speaker 6: That one guy just looked like a weirdo with a
- 27:13Speaker 6: thing on a stick. There's a couple of people that
- 27:16Speaker 6: I'm like, I think that's just a guy with something
- 27:18Speaker 6: on a stick, and he's holding up in the air.
- 27:20Speaker 6: And I see him at other shows, like on TVs,
- 27:23Speaker 6: not in the real world, but there were a lot
- 27:25Speaker 6: of them today. So it just made me want to question...
- 27:27Speaker 6: Why do you need a stuffed horse head on a
- 27:29Speaker 6: stick wearing a hat?
- 27:31Speaker 9: Like, I wouldn't want to bother with having to carry that.
- 27:33Speaker 13: I know.
- 27:33Speaker 6: I was watching the guy yesterday.
- 27:35Speaker 10: I'm irritated. I have my bag.
- 27:36Speaker 6: He's going to a lot of trouble to, like, pin
- 27:39Speaker 6: this thing up against his gut and, like, hoist this
- 27:41Speaker 6: giant stick in the air to put, like, an air
- 27:46Speaker 6: flag with a shamrock or whatever it was. Or the person, like,
- 27:49Speaker 6: flying the Pegasus flying in outer space flag over there.
- 27:53Speaker 14: Yeah.
- 27:53Speaker 13: Which is scary.
- 27:55Speaker 6: Well, it would only really be awesome if it was
- 27:56Speaker 6: on a blacklight poster. Why they need it on a
- 27:59Speaker 6: flag in the middle of this concert, I don't know.
- 28:01Speaker 10: It's expression.
- 28:03Speaker 9: People like to be expressive.
- 28:05Speaker 6: Something. So I just wanted to address that. If you're
- 28:08Speaker 6: a person that likes things on a stick at concerts...
- 28:11Speaker 6: Explain to me. And I'm not talking corn dogs because
- 28:13Speaker 6: I was eyeballing those earlier.
- 28:13Speaker 10: I was just going to say, other than corn dogs,
- 28:14Speaker 10: the corn dogs are good on a stick.
- 28:16Speaker 6: You can't go wrong with that.
- 28:17Speaker 10: Or a kebab.
- 28:18Speaker 6: I'm all about some corn dogs. Or anything else you
- 28:21Speaker 6: want to put on a stick and then dip in
- 28:22Speaker 6: batter and deep fry because, you know, I'm all about
- 28:24Speaker 6: healthy living. But, yeah, if you're one of the other
- 28:27Speaker 6: people that likes to put your stuffed dog on a
- 28:29Speaker 6: stick and hoist it 20 feet in the air, please
- 28:31Speaker 6: explain to yourself and email us and, you know, give
- 28:34Speaker 6: us some sort of idea of why, what possesses you
- 28:37Speaker 6: to do this. Anyway. On with the show. Without much
- 28:42Speaker 6: further ado, I give you.
- 28:55Speaker 5: It's time for the Killify.
- 29:04Speaker 6: So as per usual on this show, as often as possible,
- 29:07Speaker 6: I like to bring other people in. and have them
- 29:10Speaker 6: do the rundown of The Killer Five. So, I have
- 29:15Speaker 6: asked you, in advance to prepare a list, you're sort
- 29:19Speaker 6: of winging some of it, I believe, but what would
- 29:21Speaker 6: you like to start with on your list of songs
- 29:25Speaker 6: from and or related to movies?
- 29:27Speaker 10: Okay, so the first song that came to mind, as
- 29:31Speaker 10: I was sitting there trying to think about it, That's.
- 29:33Speaker 6: How I like this. That's how I played the whole
- 29:35Speaker 6: first episode. It was just me going, oh, I got
- 29:37Speaker 6: to put that one in. Oh, I got the first
- 29:39Speaker 6: thing that fired in there. So, what are yours?
- 29:41Speaker 10: So, Love Song for a Vampire from Bram Stoker's Dracula
- 29:45Speaker 10: by Coppola with Annie Lennox performing it.
- 29:48Speaker 6: I have that.
- 29:48Speaker 9: Beautiful song.
- 29:49Speaker 6: I own that myself. Love that song. And was definitely
- 29:52Speaker 6: going to work it in somewhere down the line. This
- 29:54Speaker 6: seems like a good excuse.
- 29:55Speaker 21: Coming to Pull these arms again And lay your body down.
- 30:11Speaker 4: The rhythm of this trembling heart Is beating like a
- 30:23Speaker 4: drum It beats for you It bleeds for you It
- 30:34Speaker 4: knows not how it sounds For it is the drum
- 30:48Speaker 4: of drums It is the song of songs Once I
- 31:02Speaker 4: had the rarest rose that ever deemed to bloom. Cruel
- 31:06Speaker 4: winter chill. And stole my power too soon Oh, loneliness Oh,
- 31:25Speaker 4: hopelessness To search the ends of time Oh, loneliness For
- 31:48Speaker 4: there is in all the world a greater love than mine.
- 32:42Speaker 4: Let me be the only one To keep.
- 32:46Speaker 21: You from the cold How the floor of heaven is laid.
- 33:09Speaker 4: They shine for you. They shine for you.
- 33:20Speaker 13: They burn for the sea.
- 33:30Speaker 21: Come into these arms again and set this spirit free.
- 34:06Speaker 10: And then the next one that came to mind was
- 34:07Speaker 10: 500 Miles from Benny and June.
- 34:10Speaker 9: And I think that's the Proclaimers doing it.
- 34:12Speaker 14: It is.
- 34:12Speaker 9: I love that song. I mean, who doesn't love that song?
- 34:16Speaker 6: And that is one of those that's like, and this
- 34:18Speaker 6: is what I've noticed just in the episodes we've done
- 34:20Speaker 6: so far, how much certain songs become completely synonymous with
- 34:26Speaker 6: the movie. Like you cannot... hear that song and not
- 34:29Speaker 6: think about the movie, or see even a part of
- 34:31Speaker 6: that movie and not somewhere have the song trigger in
- 34:34Speaker 6: your head. That one just got so tied into the
- 34:38Speaker 6: movie itself, probably mostly because the video played nonstop back
- 34:42Speaker 6: in the day. But still, it's one of those that
- 34:46Speaker 6: you can't have one without the other.
- 34:57Speaker 12: Yeah, I know I'm gonna be, I'm gonna be the
- 35:00Speaker 12: man who goes along with you.
- 35:03Speaker 14: If I get drunk, girl, I know I'm gonna be,
- 35:06Speaker 14: I'm gonna be.
- 35:07Speaker 12: The man who gets drunk next to you. And if
- 35:10Speaker 12: I have a, yeah, I know I'm gonna be, I'm gonna.
- 35:14Speaker 1: Be the man.
- 35:24Speaker 12: Or has that made a man walk a thousand miles
- 35:29Speaker 12: to fall down.
- 35:30Speaker 13: At you too?
- 35:32Speaker 12: When I'm watching, as I know I'm gonna be I'm
- 35:35Speaker 12: gonna be the man.
- 35:36Speaker 5: Who's working hard for you.
- 35:38Speaker 12: When the money comes in for the work I do
- 35:42Speaker 12: I'll pass almost every penny on to.
- 35:45Speaker 1: You When I come home.
- 35:48Speaker 12: I know I'm gonna be I'm gonna be the man
- 35:51Speaker 12: who comes back home for you If I go, then
- 35:56Speaker 12: I know I'm.
- 35:56Speaker 3: Gonna be, I'm gonna be the.
- 35:58Speaker 14: Man who's going over you.
- 36:01Speaker 26: But I would walk 500 miles and I would walk 500.
- 36:07Speaker 14: More if I'd be a man.
- 36:10Speaker 1: Who walked a thousand.
- 36:12Speaker 13: Miles to fall down.
- 36:33Speaker 14: When I'm lonely, well, I know I'm gonna be.
- 36:37Speaker 6: I'm gonna be.
- 36:38Speaker 14: The man who's lonely without you.
- 36:41Speaker 19: And when I'm dreaming.
- 36:43Speaker 12: Well, I know I'm gonna dream, I'm gonna dream about
- 36:45Speaker 12: the time when I'm with you. When I go out, well,
- 36:50Speaker 12: I know I'm gonna be, I'm gonna be the man
- 36:53Speaker 12: who goes along with you.
- 36:55Speaker 11: And when I.
- 36:57Speaker 12: Come home, I know I'm gonna be, I'm gonna be
- 37:00Speaker 12: the man who comes back home with you. I'm gonna
- 37:03Speaker 12: be the man who's coming home.
- 37:19Speaker 14: Walk a thousand miles to fall.
- 37:22Speaker 13: Down at your door.
- 38:10Speaker 5: Those must be comfortable shoes.
- 38:14Speaker 3: I bet you could walk all day in shoes like
- 38:16Speaker 3: that and not feel a thing.
- 38:20Speaker 2: I wish I had shoes like that. It's intermission time.
- 38:23Speaker 2: So how about taking a break? Get out and stretch
- 38:26Speaker 2: a little. And relax before the show begins again. And
- 38:30Speaker 2: why not make it refreshment time, too? We have lots
- 38:33Speaker 2: of tasty, delicious treats waiting for you at the refreshment center.
- 38:37Speaker 6: Hey, guys, look what I've got. Check out these awesome
- 38:40Speaker 6: earbuds I'm using right now.
- 38:43Speaker 2: Look at that.
- 38:44Speaker 6: That's wood right there.
- 38:45Speaker 5: That's actual wood. Why would you use wood to make technology?
- 38:49Speaker 6: Because they're... It's like... They're steam... Is steampunk really wood?
- 38:55Speaker 5: I thought it was more of a brass thing.
- 38:56Speaker 6: Well, you got to work the wood in to hold
- 38:58Speaker 6: the brass together. These are the fancy high-end steampunk versions
- 39:02Speaker 6: with a mic built in, mind you. But, yeah, where
- 39:06Speaker 6: would I get these, you wonder?
- 39:08Speaker 1: Tweaked Audio.
- 39:12Speaker 5: Way to pitch.
- 39:13Speaker 6: You want to hear more, you say?
- 39:17Speaker 5: TweakedAudio.com.
- 39:18Speaker 6: Hey, they are available in three styles and seven colors only.
- 39:22Speaker 6: And they sound pretty damn good. I kind of forgot
- 39:24Speaker 6: because I hadn't had my old pair in a while
- 39:27Speaker 6: and I was using the knockoff crappy ones I bought
- 39:29Speaker 6: at the store. And I got these and put them in.
- 39:32Speaker 6: I was like, oh, shit, that's right.

- 40:18Speaker 6: What don't you get?
- 40:19Speaker 11: Towerbot here.
- 40:21Speaker 27: Well, the meatbags were going to say that if you're
- 40:24Speaker 27: a geek and like podcasts, then you could try Tower
- 40:27Speaker 27: of Technobabble at www.toweroftechnobabble.com.
- 40:32Speaker 11: Then this started. Well, it's up to you. I'm gonna
- 40:37Speaker 11: get my taser and put a stop to this. Towerbot out. Okay, monkeys.
- 40:44Speaker 11: It's nap time.
- 41:03Speaker 28: You keep saying you got something for me.
- 41:08Speaker 16: And something you call love, but too fast.
- 41:15Speaker 29: Hi, this is Crispin Glover, and you're listening to Movie Meltdown.
- 41:26Speaker 1: Music It's part of your problem, you know. You haven't
- 41:50Speaker 1: seen enough movies. All of life's riddles are answered in
- 41:54Speaker 1: the movies. And now, on with the show.
- 41:58Speaker 13: Do I want to know?
- 42:03Speaker 10: Adam said that I shouldn't forget to mention that the
- 42:06Speaker 10: tent in front of the masked stage is a really
- 42:09Speaker 10: bad idea for anyone from Fourcastle listening. The tent in
- 42:13Speaker 10: front of the masked stage... really bad idea takes up
- 42:16Speaker 10: a lot of space you know gets in the way
- 42:20Speaker 10: of the crowd can't see as well you know really
- 42:24Speaker 10: sound does not have to be straight back i promise
- 42:28Speaker 10: you can still good do good sound over to the
- 42:30Speaker 10: side and then the other tent just get rid of
- 42:32Speaker 10: it move it somewhere.
- 42:34Speaker 6: Keep that in mind forecastle this is for you yes.
- 42:42Speaker 10: And I should mention, while we're on, like, forecastle feedback,
- 42:45Speaker 10: just in case they listen.
- 42:47Speaker 9: Because they're going to.
- 42:48Speaker 6: They should. I mean, we're promoting the hell out of it.
- 42:51Speaker 9: Forecastle's great. I love what it does for Louisville.
- 42:54Speaker 10: However, you really need to give your information booth more
- 42:59Speaker 10: usable information.
- 43:01Speaker 9: We need more than the map.
- 43:02Speaker 6: When I went there, those people didn't know a damn thing.
- 43:05Speaker 14: Really.
- 43:05Speaker 10: And it's not for any lack of trying. It's that
- 43:08Speaker 10: they were not given... anything beyond the map that we
- 43:12Speaker 10: could provide you.
- 43:13Speaker 6: You could say, here, take a map. I mean, that
- 43:16Speaker 6: was something.
- 43:17Speaker 10: Oh, they didn't even do that. I'll mention that because
- 43:20Speaker 10: at least today we're like, well, we have a map
- 43:22Speaker 10: for you.
- 43:22Speaker 6: They didn't give you the instructional how to hand a
- 43:24Speaker 6: map to someone seminar or something?
- 43:28Speaker 10: You know, I don't know. I just figured that one
- 43:30Speaker 10: out on my own.
- 43:31Speaker 6: You're winging it.
- 43:31Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 43:32Speaker 6: You are out of control.
- 43:33Speaker 10: Swear to God.
- 43:39Speaker 9: Oh, I had another feedback. What was my other feedback?
- 43:42Speaker 13: I forgot.
- 43:43Speaker 6: People suck?
- 43:44Speaker 2: Oh, wait.
- 43:45Speaker 6: No, no. That's just my general opinion.
- 43:47Speaker 10: Actually, you know, I will say people turned in lost items.
- 43:50Speaker 10: They turned in lost money, lost phones, lost credit cards.
- 43:53Speaker 10: That's really cool.
- 43:54Speaker 6: Lost money is pushing. That's... A lost wallet, I would
- 43:57Speaker 6: always be like, but if it's never going to actually
- 44:00Speaker 6: make it.
- 44:01Speaker 10: Actual cash got turned in.
- 44:02Speaker 6: Actual cash, I'm just like, it's never going to make
- 44:04Speaker 6: it to the right person. I'm just giving it to
- 44:05Speaker 6: someone else at this point. So I don't feel bad
- 44:08Speaker 6: if people just keep cash. It's my fault for dropping it.
- 44:11Speaker 6: But if it's like a wallet and it can get
- 44:13Speaker 6: back to the actual person, then I'm always forgiving it back.
- 44:16Speaker 6: But cash, I don't know what to tell you on
- 44:18Speaker 6: that one.
- 44:19Speaker 9: No, actual cash got turned in. So that was, I mean, yeah.
- 44:22Speaker 13: Yeah.
- 44:23Speaker 10: Here, I found this cash.
- 44:25Speaker 6: And I'm keeping this 20. Tough luck.
- 44:28Speaker 10: Though he did ask us how much it was, and
- 44:29Speaker 10: he said, well, if no one comes to get it,
- 44:31Speaker 10: can I come back and get it?
- 44:32Speaker 15: And we're like, um.
- 44:33Speaker 6: You could have just taken it, I suppose, if you
- 44:35Speaker 6: really wanted it.
- 44:35Speaker 10: Yes, I don't know. We won't be here.
- 44:38Speaker 6: Since you're interested in that, you should have just kept it,
- 44:41Speaker 6: I guess.
- 44:41Speaker 10: That's what I was thinking. I was like, um.
- 44:44Speaker 13: If you.
- 44:44Speaker 6: Really didn't want it, then you wouldn't worry about it,
- 44:46Speaker 6: now would you?
- 44:48Speaker 1: So.
- 44:50Speaker 6: Feedback for him.
- 44:51Speaker 13: All right. Okay.
- 44:53Speaker 12: I come from this musical family.
- 44:55Speaker 11: My mother is a piano teacher. My father was a conductor.
- 44:58Speaker 2: Where did he conduct?
- 44:59Speaker 14: On the Baltimore in Ohio.
- 45:00Speaker 10: So, and then I have three movies because they're more
- 45:04Speaker 10: orchestral soundtracks.
- 45:05Speaker 6: We definitely work in the scores.
- 45:07Speaker 23: Although I just.
- 45:07Speaker 10: Added a fourth one in my head.
- 45:11Speaker 6: On the fly. That's how she rolls. I know. So, Amelie.
- 45:13Speaker 9: I love the soundtrack to Amelie.
- 45:15Speaker 13: All right.
- 45:15Speaker 14: Okay.
- 45:16Speaker 6: You want more of like the main theme?
- 45:18Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 45:19Speaker 10: So that's just it. I just watch the movie, and
- 45:22Speaker 10: I just watch and listen. Like, I don't even have
- 45:24Speaker 10: to read the subtitles anymore. I've seen it so much.
- 45:25Speaker 10: I just kind of, I like the visuals. I'll glance
- 45:28Speaker 10: up periodically from whatever I'm doing.
- 45:29Speaker 6: Do you say the lines out loud?
- 45:32Speaker 10: No, I don't have them memorized.
- 45:34Speaker 9: But I just, it's a beautiful score.
- 45:36Speaker 4: Piano plays softly Thank you. Thank you. piano plays softly
- 48:23Speaker 4: Thank you.
- 48:53Speaker 10: Same with the red violin. Gorgeous score. I don't have
- 48:56Speaker 10: a particular part of it.
- 48:59Speaker 6: We will pick a very moving track.
- 49:03Speaker 14: Okay.
- 49:04Speaker 6: And play it for you right now.
- 49:06Speaker 13: Okay.
- 49:10Speaker 19: Thank you.
- 49:50Speaker 4: This is the first time I've seen this in real life.
- 49:59Speaker 4: I've never seen anything like.
- 50:09Speaker 1: It. You know what this is?
- 51:39Speaker 17: It's the world's smallest violin playing just for the waitresses.
- 51:43Speaker 10: I put 8 Mile on my list, and I actually
- 51:45Speaker 10: like whatever the main song is that he does.
- 51:48Speaker 6: Lose Yourself?
- 51:50Speaker 9: No, when he's up on the stage.
- 51:51Speaker 6: Doing his rapping. Like what he won the Oscar for? Probably.
- 51:54Speaker 13: I don't know.
- 51:55Speaker 6: But anyway. The one that played on the video channels
- 51:58Speaker 6: quite often.
- 51:58Speaker 9: Yeah, probably. That came out a little late to that.
- 52:02Speaker 6: Well, again... But I really like it. And it's one
- 52:05Speaker 6: of those I... As much as people made fun of Eminem,
- 52:08Speaker 6: and still kind of with good reason, I mean, he's
- 52:11Speaker 6: a very ridiculous character some of the time. He's one
- 52:14Speaker 6: of the few guys I've ever seen who can be
- 52:16Speaker 6: totally stupid and totally ridiculous, and then turn around and
- 52:19Speaker 6: do a really good... hardcore rap song I know or
- 52:23Speaker 6: like a very serious like as much as his goofy
- 52:25Speaker 6: like video oriented ones were yeah which was most of
- 52:28Speaker 6: the stuff they put out there with the videos like
- 52:30Speaker 6: if you would listen to his other tracks they were
- 52:32Speaker 6: all about his horrible personal life yeah like we all
- 52:35Speaker 6: kind of hate Kim now but really which is really
- 52:38Speaker 6: odd considering how it turned out together but yeah It's
- 52:41Speaker 6: weird that, yeah, so much of his, like, personal life
- 52:44Speaker 6: ends up in his music. I mean, he really was
- 52:46Speaker 6: sort of an artist on some level that a lot
- 52:48Speaker 6: of people didn't give him credit for because he was
- 52:51Speaker 6: so goofy in his videos.
- 52:52Speaker 10: And white.
- 52:53Speaker 6: And, well.
- 52:54Speaker 10: White from Detroit.
- 52:55Speaker 6: Again, as we've said, white people, lame.
- 52:57Speaker 10: You know, white people rapping.
- 53:00Speaker 6: Except the Beastie Boys.
- 53:01Speaker 10: Except the Beastie Boys, which is totally different. I mean,
- 53:03Speaker 10: the Beastie Boys are just a class of their own.
- 53:05Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 53:05Speaker 6: I mean, yeah. They're awesome and we all know it.
- 53:08Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 53:09Speaker 6: But, yeah, Eminem... He's hit and miss, but when he hits,
- 53:13Speaker 6: he hits so damn good they give him an Oscar.
- 53:15Speaker 29: Yeah.
- 53:16Speaker 6: And that, again, is kind of amazing. The fact that
- 53:18Speaker 6: the Oscars, like, I thought it was weird when they
- 53:21Speaker 6: gave Bruce Springsteen an Oscar. It was really, like, turned
- 53:25Speaker 6: everything upside down when they handed one to Eminem. So
- 53:28Speaker 6: I never saw that one coming. I don't know. It
- 53:31Speaker 6: was them really trying to. break out of their mold
- 53:34Speaker 6: and not be old white people even though they still
- 53:37Speaker 6: are old white people but that was like probably one
- 53:39Speaker 6: of the few time music is about the only time
- 53:42Speaker 6: they did that the what was the part out there
- 53:46Speaker 6: for a pimp was another one of those that they
- 53:47Speaker 6: just kind of like look we're not so white anymore
- 53:51Speaker 6: but then they give like the movies to the most
- 53:53Speaker 6: old boring white movies you can i mean they they
- 53:56Speaker 6: try every once in a while not very hard but
- 53:58Speaker 6: every once in a while you know they give it.
- 54:00Speaker 5: A shot.
- 54:03Speaker 11: Look, if you had.
- 54:08Speaker 25: One shot or one opportunity to seize everything you ever
- 54:14Speaker 25: wanted in one moment, would you capture it? just let
- 54:20Speaker 25: it slip yo his palms are.
- 54:23Speaker 30: Sweaty knees weak arms are heavy there's vomit on his
- 54:26Speaker 30: sweater already mom's spaghetti he's nervous but on the surface
- 54:30Speaker 30: he looks calm and ready to drop bombs but he
- 54:32Speaker 30: keeps on forgetting what he wrote down the whole crowd
- 54:36Speaker 30: goes so loud he opens his mouth but the words
- 54:38Speaker 30: won't come out he's choking how everybody's choking now the.
- 54:42Speaker 23: Clock's run out time's up over.
- 54:45Speaker 30: Snap back to reality oh There goes gravity, oh, there
- 54:49Speaker 30: goes gravity choke He's so mad but he won't give
- 54:51Speaker 30: up that as he know He won't have it, he knows,
- 54:54Speaker 30: it's all back to these.
- 54:55Speaker 14: Ropes It don't.
- 54:56Speaker 30: Matter, he's dope, he knows that but he's broke He's
- 54:58Speaker 30: so stagnant, he knows when he goes back to this
- 55:01Speaker 30: mobile home That's when it's back to the lab again,
- 55:03Speaker 30: yo This old rhapsody better go capture this moment.
- 55:06Speaker 23: You better lose yourself in the music The moment you
- 55:10Speaker 23: own it.
- 55:11Speaker 26: You better never let it go You only get one
- 55:14Speaker 26: shot Do not miss your chance to blow This opportunity
- 55:17Speaker 26: comes once in.
- 55:17Speaker 23: A lifetime You better lose yourself in the music The
- 55:21Speaker 23: moment you own it You better never let it go
- 55:24Speaker 23: You only get one shot Do not miss your chance
- 55:26Speaker 23: to blow This opportunity comes once in.
- 55:29Speaker 30: A lifetime This soul's escaping through this hole that is taping.
- 55:33Speaker 11: This world is mine for the taking.
- 55:35Speaker 14: Make me king as we move toward a new world order.
- 55:38Speaker 8: Our normal life is boring, but superstardom's close to post-mortem.
- 55:43Speaker 1: It only grows harder.
- 55:44Speaker 11: Homie grows hotter.
- 55:45Speaker 1: He blows us all over. These hoes is all on him.
- 55:48Speaker 30: Coast to coast shows he's known as the Globetrotter.
- 55:51Speaker 1: Lonely roads, God only knows.
- 55:53Speaker 14: He's grown farther from home.
- 55:54Speaker 1: He's no father.
- 55:55Speaker 30: He goes home and barely knows his own Here goes
- 56:00Speaker 30: the cold water. These hoes don't want him no more.
- 56:03Speaker 1: He's cold product. They moved on to the next move.
- 56:06Speaker 11: Flows, he knows, dove.
- 56:07Speaker 1: And sold nada.
- 56:08Speaker 30: So the soap opera is told. It unfolds, I suppose,
- 56:11Speaker 30: it's old partner, but the beat goes on.
- 56:14Speaker 23: You better lose yourself in the music The moment you
- 56:18Speaker 23: own it.
- 56:18Speaker 26: You better never let it go You only get one
- 56:21Speaker 26: shot Do not miss your chance to blow This opportunity
- 56:24Speaker 26: comes once in a lifetime You better lose yourself in
- 56:27Speaker 26: the music The moment you own it.
- 56:29Speaker 1: You better never let it go Let it.
- 56:31Speaker 26: Go, you only get one shot Do not miss your
- 56:33Speaker 26: chance to blow This opportunity comes once in a lifetime
- 56:37Speaker 26: You ready?
- 56:37Speaker 14: No more games, I'ma change.
- 56:39Speaker 30: What you call rage Tear this motherfuckin' roof off like
- 56:42Speaker 30: Tudor's cage I was playin' in the beginning, the mood
- 56:45Speaker 30: all changed I've been chewed up and spit out and
- 56:47Speaker 30: booed offstage But I kept rhymin' and stepped right in
- 56:50Speaker 30: the next cypher Best believe somebody's payin.
- 56:53Speaker 14: The Pied Piper All the pain.
- 56:55Speaker 24: Inside amplified by the Fact that I can't get by
- 56:59Speaker 24: with my ninder And I can't provide the right type
- 57:02Speaker 24: of life for my family cause man these goddamn food
- 57:05Speaker 24: stamps don't buy diapers And there's no movie, there's no Mekhi.
- 57:09Speaker 11: Pfeiffer This is my.
- 57:10Speaker 30: Life and these times are so hard And it's getting
- 57:13Speaker 30: even harder trying to feed and water my seed Plus,
- 57:15Speaker 30: see there's a daughter caught up between being a father
- 57:18Speaker 30: and a prima donna Baby mama drama screaming all the
- 57:21Speaker 30: too much for me She don't wanna stand one spot
- 57:23Speaker 30: Another damn monotone has gotten me To the point I'm
- 57:26Speaker 30: like a snail I've got to formulate a plot Or
- 57:29Speaker 30: I'll end up in jail or shot Success is my
- 57:31Speaker 30: only motherfuckin' option Failure's not Mama, love you, but this
- 57:35Speaker 30: trail has got to go I cannot grow old in
- 57:38Speaker 30: Salem's lot So here I go, it's my shot Feet fail,
- 57:41Speaker 30: men nod This may be the only opportunity that I
- 57:44Speaker 30: You better lose yourself in the music The moment you
- 57:47Speaker 30: own it You better.
- 57:48Speaker 26: Never let it go You only get one shot Do
- 57:51Speaker 26: not miss your chance to flow This opportunity grows Once
- 57:54Speaker 26: in a lifetime You better lose yourself in the music
- 57:57Speaker 26: The moment you own it You better never let it
- 58:00Speaker 26: go You only get one shot Do not miss your
- 58:03Speaker 26: chance to flow This opportunity grows Once in a lifetime
- 58:06Speaker 26: You better.
- 58:37Speaker 1: I just love being the rap king of Arizona.
- 58:40Speaker 10: So my bonus.
- 58:42Speaker 6: I do allow bonus tracks.
- 58:43Speaker 10: Okay, my bonus. And again, it's more movie. It's Ghost
- 58:47Speaker 10: in the Shell. That soundtrack is amazing. And I wish
- 58:51Speaker 10: I knew.
- 58:53Speaker 9: Even the track numbers. And unfortunately, I lost my copy.
- 58:56Speaker 10: They're insanely expensive because you have to have it imported.
- 58:59Speaker 6: I remember back when you had to import it, and
- 59:02Speaker 6: I used to have geeks come into the store. Again,
- 59:04Speaker 6: these were back when there was a video store, people.
- 59:07Speaker 6: And nerdy kids would come in and be like... actually,
- 59:11Speaker 6: if you go back far enough, they don't even refer
- 59:13Speaker 6: to it as anime. They would refer to it as
- 59:15Speaker 6: something that is not PC anymore.
- 59:16Speaker 21: Japanimation.
- 59:17Speaker 6: But then they got a big sign that said anime,
- 59:19Speaker 6: so everybody knew, well, let's have it a real thing
- 59:22Speaker 6: to call it. So, yeah, all the dorky little kids
- 59:24Speaker 6: would come in and be like, do you know where
- 59:25Speaker 6: anime is? And, you know, the little ones I would
- 59:28Speaker 6: point there and leave them alone. And the older ones
- 59:30Speaker 6: I would stand there and watch because they were also
- 59:32Speaker 6: the ones who would rip everything off.
- 59:33Speaker 10: Right, right.
- 59:34Speaker 6: So, anime. It brings in a diverse crowd as well.
- 59:39Speaker 9: But there was a particular song on there.
- 59:42Speaker 10: And it's when, it's towards the end of the movie.
- 59:48Speaker 10: During the scenes where she's battling with the crazy spider
- 59:52Speaker 10: monster in like the old abandoned greenhouse kind of train
- 59:57Speaker 10: station place. And it gets really spooky, creepy, beautiful. Love that.
- 1:00:04Speaker 19: My heart.
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: Who are you?
- 1:00:19Speaker 20: Terutsuki to yomunari Yowai ni kami ama kudarite Yowake nuetori naku.
- 1:01:24Speaker 4: Thank you. Thank you. Thank you for watching.
- 1:03:40Speaker 19: Me. so so.
- 1:05:12Speaker 6: So that is, in fact, your Killer 5 plus bonus.
- 1:05:15Speaker 1: Right.
- 1:05:15Speaker 6: So we've gotten yours. You're taken care of now. You've
- 1:05:18Speaker 6: gotten at least enough for now. I'm sure later you'll
- 1:05:22Speaker 6: be like, oh, I can't believe I didn't play that one.
- 1:05:24Speaker 6: And then it's an excuse to come back on the show.
- 1:05:26Speaker 13: Yeah, exactly.
- 1:05:27Speaker 6: It's a plan.
- 1:05:28Speaker 5: I'll be back.
- 1:05:29Speaker 6: We're sort of wrapping things up here. Any other general
- 1:05:33Speaker 6: thoughts about the festivities so far?
- 1:05:36Speaker 10: Well, you know... Again, it's really all over the place.
- 1:05:39Speaker 10: It's way more crowded this year than last year.
- 1:05:42Speaker 6: It's gotten huge. I mean, that's one thing I will say.
- 1:05:45Speaker 6: Like I said, I remember going to the first. It
- 1:05:49Speaker 6: was one of the first couple. I don't know if
- 1:05:51Speaker 6: it was the very first year, but I went to
- 1:05:52Speaker 6: it when it was in Tyler Park. And the music
- 1:05:55Speaker 6: was one guy with an acoustic guitar standing next to
- 1:05:58Speaker 6: the tunnel. The tunnel that goes through the park. Again,
- 1:06:01Speaker 6: if you're not from here. There's two sides of the
- 1:06:03Speaker 6: park and there's a weird tunnel that goes in and
- 1:06:04Speaker 6: connects them. He was standing next to that like playing
- 1:06:07Speaker 6: an acoustic guitar by himself. And that was the only
- 1:06:10Speaker 6: music that I remember. And there was like art hanging
- 1:06:12Speaker 6: on the trees. Like it was a very DIY kind
- 1:06:15Speaker 6: of thing. So flash forwarding to now when we've taken
- 1:06:19Speaker 6: over half the city and there's multiple giant stage setups
- 1:06:24Speaker 6: and a big tent in the way where people complain
- 1:06:26Speaker 6: about it.
- 1:06:27Speaker 9: And people pay $ 400 for weekend VIP.
- 1:06:28Speaker 10: It's crazy.
- 1:06:29Speaker 13: Like....
- 1:06:33Speaker 6: The part that I really, I mean, specifically the part
- 1:06:35Speaker 6: that's funny for me is I also remember a year
- 1:06:38Speaker 6: or two after that year, a young JK, who organizes
- 1:06:43Speaker 6: this festival now, when I was back just before the
- 1:06:48Speaker 6: podcast started when we were just doing art shows and stuff,
- 1:06:52Speaker 6: a young JK emailed me to ask if he could
- 1:06:55Speaker 6: hand out flyers in front of my art show. I
- 1:06:58Speaker 6: still think back on that and I think it's pretty funny, actually.
- 1:07:01Speaker 10: How things have changed.
- 1:07:02Speaker 6: I also think Okay, now he's running this billion-dollar operation,
- 1:07:06Speaker 6: and I'm still lucky to string together the money for
- 1:07:08Speaker 6: a podcast. Something's gone horribly awry in my life, but
- 1:07:13Speaker 6: I'm hanging in there. JK, you know, hook me up.
- 1:07:15Speaker 6: That's all I'm saying. But, okay, back to what you
- 1:07:21Speaker 6: were saying about the hugeness of it. I was just
- 1:07:24Speaker 6: having my reminiscing about that.
- 1:07:26Speaker 10: I just, yeah, and... maybe part of it is the
- 1:07:29Speaker 10: better weather this year, other than the temporary evacuation.
- 1:07:32Speaker 6: Other than when we almost got killed.
- 1:07:34Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:07:34Speaker 6: You know, um, the tsunami on.
- 1:07:36Speaker 10: The Ohio, but there are a lot, a lot of people, um,
- 1:07:40Speaker 10: but in general, from a festival standpoint, I find this
- 1:07:45Speaker 10: to be a pretty mellow crowd. And I like the
- 1:07:48Speaker 10: way that because the stages, the way they have it
- 1:07:51Speaker 10: placed on the waterfront and on the lawn, everything's kind
- 1:07:53Speaker 10: of separate. So you, You really have some space to
- 1:07:56Speaker 10: move around, and I like that.
- 1:07:58Speaker 6: I really appreciate that.
- 1:08:00Speaker 9: So it makes it feel a little less claustrophobic?
- 1:08:03Speaker 6: I think that's another one I was going to say.
- 1:08:06Speaker 6: As much as I'm, as previously mentioned, a jerk, and
- 1:08:10Speaker 6: I hate people, sometimes I'll get out there amidst the
- 1:08:13Speaker 6: crowd of craziness, and I'm just kind of like, it's
- 1:08:16Speaker 6: not that bad. Again, not everybody is the kind of
- 1:08:19Speaker 6: people I would probably hang out with, and vice versa,
- 1:08:21Speaker 6: I am sure.
- 1:08:23Speaker 14: But.
- 1:08:23Speaker 6: Like, sometimes we can all kind of get along, you know?
- 1:08:26Speaker 6: It's like it's been a good crowd, I have to say.
- 1:08:28Speaker 6: I don't like large crowds. I don't like drunk people.
- 1:08:31Speaker 6: I don't like standing around. So there's a lot of, like,
- 1:08:33Speaker 6: negatives that could affect it. But, you know, I've been
- 1:08:36Speaker 6: here two days now, and I've had a pretty good time.
- 1:08:39Speaker 6: And I have to say, I would hate to ever
- 1:08:41Speaker 6: plan an outdoor event. Like, I was doing indoor events,
- 1:08:44Speaker 6: and I still stressed out about the weather because it
- 1:08:46Speaker 6: will kill your event if it's rainy or whatever. So
- 1:08:49Speaker 6: watching them, like, have to freak out when there's, like,
- 1:08:52Speaker 6: Weather coming in and we're sitting there on a stage
- 1:08:55Speaker 6: next to the river, I mean, it's it's not a
- 1:08:57Speaker 6: minor thing then it's a huge ordeal so the way
- 1:08:59Speaker 6: that they sort of held their own and like held
- 1:09:02Speaker 6: down the fort and like dealt with i mean how
- 1:09:05Speaker 6: many thousand people are supposed to be here this weekend.
- 1:09:07Speaker 10: I mean over the course of the weekend 75 yeah
- 1:09:10Speaker 10: i mean that's a lot of people to have to
- 1:09:12Speaker 10: deal with and especially deal with when half of them
- 1:09:15Speaker 10: were probably freaking out or complaining or.
- 1:09:17Speaker 6: Whatever so drunk or high That too. The high ones
- 1:09:21Speaker 6: probably weren't complaining so much. They were just laying in
- 1:09:22Speaker 6: the field and they had to shove them.
- 1:09:24Speaker 2: Right.
- 1:09:24Speaker 6: Evacuate. Come on, get the hell out. But I don't know.
- 1:09:27Speaker 6: Everybody seemed to conduct themselves pretty well.
- 1:09:29Speaker 9: I was surprised, actually.
- 1:09:32Speaker 6: Yeah. Especially with that weird circumstance in the middle of it.
- 1:09:35Speaker 6: How well everybody conducted themselves. The forecastle people and the
- 1:09:39Speaker 6: crowd itself. I was surprised.
- 1:09:41Speaker 10: Only thing I would recommend... is they could have given
- 1:09:44Speaker 10: the information booth a little more information about it, since
- 1:09:48Speaker 10: everyone wanted to stop and ask us questions.
- 1:09:51Speaker 6: Those people don't know what the hell.
- 1:09:52Speaker 10: And we just didn't know.
- 1:09:53Speaker 9: Those people, we had no idea.
- 1:09:55Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:09:57Speaker 6: Mostly you.
- 1:09:58Speaker 10: Mostly me. I don't know. Here we're being evacuated, but
- 1:10:02Speaker 10: I'm here. Answering your question.
- 1:10:07Speaker 13: The girl at the.
- 1:10:07Speaker 6: Front gate that was turning me away was showing how
- 1:10:09Speaker 6: this giant metal sculpture over here could be a lightning rod,
- 1:10:12Speaker 6: and the hippies shouldn't hang around that. So she was
- 1:10:16Speaker 6: using science to back up her story. So she was
- 1:10:19Speaker 6: pretty impressive, too. So the lesson you've learned, don't stand
- 1:10:25Speaker 6: next to metal sculptures in a lightning storm. Take that away, kids.
- 1:10:30Speaker 13: All right.
- 1:10:31Speaker 6: With that, we do want to say, even with our
- 1:10:34Speaker 6: poking fun along the way, we did want to say
- 1:10:36Speaker 6: thank you to the Fourcastle Festival for letting us loiter
- 1:10:40Speaker 6: around this weekend and do our coverage from here and
- 1:10:43Speaker 6: piece together a fun soundtrack episode.
- 1:10:45Speaker 10: It's really exciting to have an event like this in
- 1:10:48Speaker 10: Louisville and to involve the city with it and let
- 1:10:54Speaker 10: us be a part of it.
- 1:10:56Speaker 6: It's kind of become a well-known thing. Looking at all
- 1:11:00Speaker 6: the bands, everybody that's on this kind of turns up
- 1:11:03Speaker 6: at those other... I mean, they're at South by Southwest,
- 1:11:06Speaker 6: and they're at Bonnaroo, and then they come here. So
- 1:11:08Speaker 6: I feel like that's kind of a big deal if
- 1:11:10Speaker 6: we ended up somewhere on that list. We're not quite
- 1:11:12Speaker 6: as big as those, but it's pretty.
- 1:11:14Speaker 10: Damn big for this city. This is ranked really high
- 1:11:18Speaker 10: up there, and it's a really cool thing for Louisville
- 1:11:20Speaker 10: to have.
- 1:11:21Speaker 6: So it puts us on the map. It's pretty impressive
- 1:11:23Speaker 6: in its own right, just the fact that, again, he's
- 1:11:25Speaker 6: built this in like 10 years.
- 1:11:26Speaker 10: And someone can put this together. Oh, my gosh, yeah.
- 1:11:28Speaker 6: It's gone from a dork hanging out in the park
- 1:11:30Speaker 6: to this festival. This is kind of amazing. So kudos
- 1:11:34Speaker 6: to JK for bringing it in, I suppose. He's pieced
- 1:11:38Speaker 6: together a pretty massive show. So they are at forecastlefest.com.
- 1:11:43Speaker 6: So go plan for next year, I suppose. I'm sure
- 1:11:47Speaker 6: it will be back next year bigger, more elaborate, and
- 1:11:50Speaker 6: crazier than ever, so. Go get on the internets and
- 1:11:54Speaker 6: find yourself the info and sign up for next year.
- 1:11:57Speaker 10: Absolutely.
- 1:11:59Speaker 6: All right, to take us out. Sometimes the song or
- 1:12:04Speaker 6: the artist may be one level, and the soundtrack might
- 1:12:08Speaker 6: be another. But you know what? Doesn't matter to me.
- 1:12:10Speaker 13: It all works.
- 1:12:11Speaker 6: Sometimes you pull off a really silly soundtrack. That's fine.
- 1:12:15Speaker 6: So this one would be from the Wayne's World 2 soundtrack. Because, again,
- 1:12:20Speaker 6: I thought we'd round things out with another festival-oriented film.
- 1:12:24Speaker 6: And that one, the entire plot of the movie is
- 1:12:26Speaker 6: them putting together, if you remember, Wainstock.
- 1:12:30Speaker 10: Right, right.
- 1:12:31Speaker 6: So the whole thing centers around them orchestrating this huge festival,
- 1:12:34Speaker 6: much like we're at today. So the other tie-in, I thought,
- 1:12:38Speaker 6: was to go out with Louie Louie from Robert Plant,
- 1:12:42Speaker 6: who is playing here this weekend.
- 1:12:44Speaker 9: Yeah, in fact, actually, he may be playing soon.
- 1:12:46Speaker 6: I thought it was tomorrow.
- 1:12:48Speaker 11: No.
- 1:12:49Speaker 10: No, maybe he is tomorrow. I don't remember.
- 1:12:51Speaker 6: You're drunk.
- 1:12:52Speaker 9: No, I'm not. I've only had two PBRs. You can't
- 1:12:57Speaker 9: be drunk.
- 1:12:57Speaker 6: Off two PBRs. You're such a hipster.
- 1:12:58Speaker 30: Oh, my God.
- 1:13:00Speaker 10: It was the cheapest beer.
- 1:13:02Speaker 6: Okay, poor or hipster. Sometimes both. It's a fine line.
- 1:13:06Speaker 6: It's a fine line.
- 1:13:08Speaker 10: I mean, the only choices were Heineken or PBR, and
- 1:13:11Speaker 10: I will go with PBR.
- 1:13:12Speaker 6: Heineken?
- 1:13:13Speaker 10: Fuck that shit. I mean, it's not like I have
- 1:13:16Speaker 10: a lot of options.
- 1:13:16Speaker 6: In the words of Frank Booth. Fuck that shit.
- 1:13:19Speaker 13: All right.
- 1:13:22Speaker 10: Not like I had a lot of options. And I
- 1:13:25Speaker 10: just didn't feel like dealing with the bourbon booth.
- 1:13:27Speaker 6: I went super square.
- 1:13:28Speaker 9: Like, the PBR seemed like it was a much lighter option.
- 1:13:31Speaker 6: I'm super square. I went with the soda pop kids. So,
- 1:13:35Speaker 6: as if I wasn't dork enough. There you go.
- 1:13:38Speaker 13: All right.
- 1:13:39Speaker 6: I think that's about it, is it not?
- 1:13:40Speaker 10: I think so.
- 1:13:41Speaker 9: Well, thank you so much, Brian.
- 1:13:43Speaker 6: Thank you for joining me this week. Again, I like
- 1:13:46Speaker 6: having people on, and you've definitely held your own better
- 1:13:50Speaker 6: than other people along the way. So you are invited
- 1:13:52Speaker 6: back anytime you would like.
- 1:13:53Speaker 10: Well, thanks.
- 1:13:54Speaker 9: And I thought about another soundtrack song, and I'll keep
- 1:13:56Speaker 9: it for next time.
- 1:13:57Speaker 14: Yes.
- 1:13:58Speaker 6: Next time. You've got one down, four to go. You
- 1:14:01Speaker 6: are all set. Yeah. My parting words of wisdom to
- 1:14:05Speaker 6: everyone is get a life. We'll provide the soundtrack. That's it.
- 1:14:10Speaker 13: We're out of here.
- 1:14:28Speaker 1: Bye.
- 1:14:29Speaker 6: Bye.
- 1:14:38Speaker 13: I'm making home.
- 1:14:39Speaker 22: Blue and white, oh baby We gotta go now.
- 1:14:47Speaker 7: Blue and white, oh baby We gotta go now.
- 1:14:54Speaker 15: One night, one day, I sail the sea And I
- 1:14:58Speaker 15: think of a girl, I constantly I sail that ship,
- 1:15:03Speaker 15: I dream she's there I smell the roses in her
- 1:15:07Speaker 15: hair Blue and white, oh.
- 1:15:10Speaker 7: Baby We gotta go now Blue and white, oh baby
- 1:15:21Speaker 7: We gotta go now.
- 1:15:24Speaker 15: Oh yeah Come on baby, come on.
- 1:15:49Speaker 4: Me see Jermaine to a.
- 1:15:53Speaker 13: Lonely door It.
- 1:15:55Speaker 7: Won't be long, me see me love Me take her
- 1:15:58Speaker 7: in me arms again Me say I'll never leave her
- 1:16:01Speaker 7: there But.
- 1:16:02Speaker 4: Look in the way, oh.
- 1:16:05Speaker 15: Baby, we gotta go now.
- 1:16:19Speaker 7: .
- 1:16:29Speaker 28: .
- 1:16:33Speaker 19: .
- 1:16:36Speaker 13: .
- 1:16:54Speaker 6: Another girl with a hula hoop?
- 1:16:56Speaker 2: Really?
