- 0:12Speaker 1: Hi, guys, welcome back to I Do par two. It's
- 0:15Speaker 1: your celebrity mentor Jenfessler, and today I'm going to be
- 0:18Speaker 1: breaking down and reacting to some of the latest headlines
- 0:22Speaker 1: in the world of divorce with my producer Heather.
- 0:26Speaker 2: Hey lady, Hi Jen, how are you? Hi?
- 0:29Speaker 1: Heather? So, Heather is my right arm, right hand, right
- 0:35Speaker 1: hand all things off screen, and today she is my
- 0:39Speaker 1: partner on screen, which I'm actually very excited about. I
- 0:42Speaker 1: want to hear your takes on this stuff, my friend.
- 0:45Speaker 2: These are some wild stories. I'm ready.
- 0:46Speaker 1: We really are you?
- 0:48Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 0:49Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah yeah. We're talking to you guys about the
- 0:52Speaker 1: mess that has become some of these celebrity divorces. And
- 0:58Speaker 1: I don't know, maybe it helps people to hear about
- 1:01Speaker 1: this and their own divorces or they all seem messy, right,
- 1:04Speaker 1: every one of us, all of us I Do Part twos,
- 1:08Speaker 1: have been through nothing. I've never heard of anything being
- 1:10Speaker 1: really easy in terms of divorce or you know, death
- 1:14Speaker 1: or even in my case, separation. But these celebrity ones
- 1:17Speaker 1: are good. They're juicy, and they're messy and you know,
- 1:22Speaker 1: sad in a lot of cases, right for sure.
- 1:25Speaker 2: But you know what, I think that sometimes, right. I mean,
- 1:28Speaker 2: I haven't been through divorce myself, but I think you
- 1:30Speaker 2: do have to go through a bit of that storm
- 1:32Speaker 2: before you can get to maybe some of that you know, nicer,
- 1:36Speaker 2: happier endings. And I think we're going to get to
- 1:38Speaker 2: some of those stories today too. There's some that are
- 1:40Speaker 2: a little bit.
- 1:40Speaker 1: Hopeful, some uplifting ones as well, right, definitely, yes, yeah,
- 1:45Speaker 1: I have friends that always say like, divorce is so underrated.
- 1:49Speaker 1: These are my friends, of course, that have now had
- 1:51Speaker 1: some time in separation from the divorce. But even like
- 1:55Speaker 1: with younger kids, being able to sort of feel like
- 1:58Speaker 1: your kids are in a safe place'll have some time
- 2:00Speaker 1: on your own. But that's another episode. So let's just
- 2:03Speaker 1: dive right in. Let's talk about Scott Wolf. You're too young,
- 2:07Speaker 1: I think, Heather, did you watch Party of Five?
- 2:09Speaker 2: Listen? I did watch some Party of Five when I
- 2:13Speaker 2: was growing up. It was a little bit more on
- 2:15Speaker 2: the dramatic side. But I think Scott Wolf made appearances
- 2:18Speaker 2: on some other shows that I used to watch back
- 2:20Speaker 2: in the nineties, for sure, so I definitely know.
- 2:22Speaker 1: I was in love with him. Yeah, Oh my god,
- 2:25Speaker 1: so cute. So I guess recently, pretty recently him and
- 2:30Speaker 1: his soon to be ex wife, Kelly, announced that they
- 2:34Speaker 1: are getting divorced.
- 2:36Speaker 2: Yeah, this has been drama since the get go. If
- 2:39Speaker 2: anybody's been following this story, obviously we know that there
- 2:43Speaker 2: was a police called to the house. There was I
- 2:47Speaker 2: believe she was detained for a period of time. So
- 2:51Speaker 2: it's just gotten a little bit bumpier week by week.
- 2:56Speaker 2: But tell everybody about kind of what's going on right now,
- 2:59Speaker 2: the latest this story.
- 3:00Speaker 1: So yeah, so I guess Kelly was dropped by her
- 3:05Speaker 1: own attorney, right. She was making some accusations against Scott
- 3:10Speaker 1: and that, you know, according to him, of course, are unfounded.
- 3:14Speaker 1: And we are not in the room with her attorney
- 3:17Speaker 1: and all that. Obviously their communications are privileged. So I
- 3:21Speaker 1: guess it's up to us to sort of guess what
- 3:24Speaker 1: happened there. But it's on the heels of her making
- 3:27Speaker 1: these accusations. Maybe the attorney thought that she was making
- 3:30Speaker 1: false allegations against him. You know, you don't hear about
- 3:33Speaker 1: attorneys firing their clients.
- 3:35Speaker 2: Yeah, well it says here. It says on on Monday,
- 3:38Speaker 2: August nineteenth, the Utah judge presiding over the divorce granted
- 3:42Speaker 2: emotion brought by Kelly's attorney, Farah Spencer, to withdraw her
- 3:47Speaker 2: as her representation. The judge said that Farah and her
- 3:53Speaker 2: law firm are permitted to withdraw as counsel of record
- 3:58Speaker 2: for Kelly effect immediately, and are relieved of any and
- 4:02Speaker 2: all future duties and responsibilities for Kelly in this case. So,
- 4:08Speaker 2: you know, obviously, like you were saying, we don't know
- 4:11Speaker 2: all the details on why this, you know, went into motion,
- 4:15Speaker 2: but I don't know what kind of sign it is
- 4:18Speaker 2: when you're divorce attorney, he as a client, like, I
- 4:23Speaker 2: think a little.
- 4:24Speaker 1: Sketchy doesn't seem good? Well, I know. Also I believe
- 4:28Speaker 1: her allegations had to do with his parenting, right and
- 4:33Speaker 1: correct me if I'm on he has the kids, right.
- 4:36Speaker 2: I think that right now he does.
- 4:39Speaker 1: If we're wrong in any of this, you guys, please
- 4:40Speaker 1: forgive us. But it's all I feel like this story
- 4:42Speaker 1: is coming out in real time.
- 4:45Speaker 2: Things are definitely changing with the wind on this one.
- 4:49Speaker 2: But yeah, there's a lot of mudslinging going on right now.
- 4:52Speaker 2: You know, Kelly's been going to social media posting a
- 4:56Speaker 2: lot of you know stuff like we said, and we've
- 4:59Speaker 2: all seen and heard, you know, bodycam footage from that night,
- 5:05Speaker 2: So we're getting pieces of this situation. One thing's for sure,
- 5:11Speaker 2: it's not going well. I think it is very what
- 5:15Speaker 2: feels contentious, and yeah, you know, I think.
- 5:19Speaker 1: Well, she's also Heather. She's a life coach, right.
- 5:23Speaker 2: You know what. I actually remember Kelly from back when
- 5:28Speaker 2: she was on reality TV, back in the day she
- 5:31Speaker 2: used to be. She was on MTV The Real World.
- 5:35Speaker 1: I mean, I hope you guys, if you're listening to
- 5:37Speaker 1: this pod, you've you're hopefully of age to remember the
- 5:40Speaker 1: real world. If not, thank you for listening. I don't
- 5:42Speaker 1: know what I would have interesting to say to you,
- 5:45Speaker 1: you young people. But anyway, the Real World that started
- 5:49Speaker 1: off Reality TV. That was MTV show about I guess
- 5:54Speaker 1: it's sort of like like summer House now a bunch
- 5:57Speaker 1: of kids at the shore though was it the shore?
- 6:00Speaker 2: But it's it's strangers if we're if we're really less correct,
- 6:03Speaker 2: excuse me, right, strangers pick to live together.
- 6:07Speaker 1: But yeah, it was cool.
- 6:08Speaker 2: That's kind of what I remember Kelly being from. And
- 6:13Speaker 2: you know, up until this time, I would say she
- 6:15Speaker 2: was pretty much living a low profile with.
- 6:17Speaker 1: Scott, but I think she was. I do think I
- 6:19Speaker 1: remember reading she was a life coach. It's interesting. It's like,
- 6:23Speaker 1: what does these expression therapists heal thyself or doctor heal thyself?
- 6:27Speaker 1: You know. I mean, I think you can have distance
- 6:30Speaker 1: from something like you can tell I certainly make a
- 6:33Speaker 1: million mistakes and tell my kids do as I say,
- 6:36Speaker 1: not as I do. So even though I know, you know,
- 6:40Speaker 1: a lot of times I know the right path or
- 6:42Speaker 1: the right move to make, I don't always choose it,
- 6:44Speaker 1: but I can tell you what it is. So and
- 6:47Speaker 1: I mean, you know, I think it's interesting, just the
- 6:50Speaker 1: whole life coach thing and now she's unfortunately going through
- 6:52Speaker 1: this mess. But we wish them certainly all the best.
- 6:56Speaker 1: It's just a reminder of how ugly this can get.
- 6:59Speaker 2: Yeah, definitely. Scott actually released a statement on the fifteenth,
- 7:04Speaker 2: telling you People magazine that he is continuing to hope
- 7:09Speaker 2: that to have most of this difficult chapter of his
- 7:13Speaker 2: family's lives remain as private as possible. However, the well
- 7:17Speaker 2: being of their children is at stake and that will
- 7:20Speaker 2: always be his main priority. So yeah, we wish them
- 7:25Speaker 2: all the best and hopefully they can get through this
- 7:28Speaker 2: because at the end of the day, the kids are
- 7:30Speaker 2: the most important aspect when I think anybody would agree
- 7:34Speaker 2: when you're going through something.
- 7:35Speaker 1: Like this agreed, Well, yes, I would think that everyone
- 7:38Speaker 1: would agree with that. Speaking of contentious and kids and messy,
- 7:46Speaker 1: let's talk about Kim Zolesiak and Corey Beerman.
- 7:49Speaker 2: I'm actually really interested to hear your perspective on this one,
- 7:53Speaker 2: obviously being from the Bravo verse just right out the gate.
- 7:56Speaker 2: Have you ever met Kim before or do you know
- 7:59Speaker 2: her at all?
- 8:00Speaker 1: No, I've never met Kim. I've been watching him for
- 8:03Speaker 1: years and Croy and so funny. Do you remember I
- 8:08Speaker 1: don't know if you watched them back in the day
- 8:09Speaker 1: when they fell in love at the beginning.
- 8:12Speaker 2: Of course, their wedding, their.
- 8:14Speaker 1: Wedding, but that's their wedding. Like she saw him and
- 8:16Speaker 1: she was like, okay, I think this. She didn't use
- 8:19Speaker 1: this wording, but there was something about his ass. I
- 8:22Speaker 1: remember her saying that it was the cutest ass she'd
- 8:24Speaker 1: ever seen. Do you remember this?
- 8:26Speaker 2: I do remember this, And I also, I don't know
- 8:29Speaker 2: if you remember that.
- 8:30Speaker 1: That's if she asked him out first or something.
- 8:32Speaker 2: When they got married, do you remember that she painted
- 8:37Speaker 2: his jersey on.
- 8:38Speaker 1: Her body and had.
- 8:42Speaker 2: I will never forget that photo shoot that.
- 8:44Speaker 1: She My god, that's so funny.
- 8:46Speaker 2: I remember it was definitely a love story, hot and heavy.
- 8:50Speaker 2: It really was July fast in the beginning. I think
- 8:53Speaker 2: they both agree with that. But it's just gone again,
- 8:57Speaker 2: reallywil in recent months. So you can go ahead tell
- 9:02Speaker 2: him for many kind of what's what's like them?
- 9:05Speaker 1: Okay? Well again, like and I haven't met Kim, but
- 9:08Speaker 1: I met three nights ago. I met Arianna. I was
- 9:12Speaker 1: at a movie premiere and she was there, I guess,
- 9:14Speaker 1: representing next Gen and her adorable boyfriend. And it's funny,
- 9:18Speaker 1: you guys, you know you read stuff, you see stuff
- 9:20Speaker 1: on TV. Obviously we didn't talk about this. I didn't
- 9:22Speaker 1: speak didn't bring up your mother's you know, getting divorced
- 9:25Speaker 1: and it's ugly. But I'm just saying she was so
- 9:27Speaker 1: sweet and warm, and when you meet people sometimes they
- 9:31Speaker 1: become human and it all just becomes, you know, more
- 9:35Speaker 1: than just an interesting story. It's just it's very sad
- 9:38Speaker 1: and and so I believe Arianna. And who's the other sister, Brielle?
- 9:44Speaker 1: Brielle right there? From there, they Corey adopted them, right,
- 9:49Speaker 1: so there are four kids.
- 9:51Speaker 2: Yeah, I know, he's definitely their stepfather. I don't know
- 9:54Speaker 2: went through with the adopt.
- 9:55Speaker 1: I think he did, okay anyway, So that's just how
- 9:58Speaker 1: that's just context about in terms of like how sad
- 10:01Speaker 1: it is. But I think that Kim now has asked
- 10:06Speaker 1: that Coroy b thrown in jail for stalking her, you know,
- 10:10Speaker 1: which is and I he obviously is denying those claims.
- 10:15Speaker 1: So it is, Uh, it's gotten to the point where
- 10:19Speaker 1: it sounds like it's you know, stalking her home and
- 10:22Speaker 1: wanting her he wants her thrown in jail. She filed
- 10:26Speaker 1: documents about they're really what seems to be their kind
- 10:30Speaker 1: of never ending divorce. Yeah, they have four kids, right,
- 10:33Speaker 1: and they have and then he adopted the two. But
- 10:38Speaker 1: it's it's gotten out of control, and she says that
- 10:42Speaker 1: he is Croy has been exhibiting erratic behavior, that Kroy's
- 10:47Speaker 1: obsession with her has led him to survey surveilling the residence.
- 10:52Speaker 1: Why can I say surveilling survailing the residence of a
- 10:56Speaker 1: third party at whose residence Kim was present, as well
- 10:59Speaker 1: as following him on such mundane tasks as grocery shopping.
- 11:05Speaker 1: It sounds like the Genshaw and the monica of it all.
- 11:10Speaker 2: It's really wild, and you know, it's kind of like
- 11:14Speaker 2: this outlet says, it never ending. I feel like, similar
- 11:18Speaker 2: to the Scott Wolf and Kelly situation, Kim and Croi
- 11:22Speaker 2: are in the headlines every single week when it comes
- 11:25Speaker 2: to their divorce, whether it is the money situation, whether
- 11:30Speaker 2: it's somebody won't leave the house, whether it's you know,
- 11:33Speaker 2: their kids are speaking, you know, so it's really really
- 11:36Speaker 2: gotten messy, and you know, I just want to hear
- 11:41Speaker 2: from you as you know, as an adult who's also
- 11:45Speaker 2: been in a very long term marriage. Yeah, do you
- 11:49Speaker 2: think that these two really need to be focusing on
- 11:52Speaker 2: right now? Do you think they need better mediation? Do
- 11:55Speaker 2: you think they should be, you know, enlisting the help
- 11:57Speaker 2: of a divorce coach because it feels like they're not
- 12:01Speaker 2: getting it right.
- 12:03Speaker 1: So obviously just my opinion. So I feel like this
- 12:10Speaker 1: whole thing would have gone a lot easier if from
- 12:13Speaker 1: the beginning, and maybe they have one, but I'm thinking not.
- 12:15Speaker 1: They had a prenup, so let me just put that
- 12:18Speaker 1: out there. So they came into this marriage not as
- 12:21Speaker 1: as children starting out right, they came into it as
- 12:25Speaker 1: grown ass adults. He was a football player, so I'm
- 12:27Speaker 1: sure he came in with his own money. She was
- 12:29Speaker 1: a reality star. I'm sure she came in with hers.
- 12:32Speaker 1: I might be wrong, but that's and my guess is
- 12:35Speaker 1: from all of this that they do not have one.
- 12:38Speaker 1: So if you're listening, who cares what Jenfesler thinks. But
- 12:41Speaker 1: if you're interested, I care what Jenfesler thinks. Thank you, Heather,
- 12:45Speaker 1: But I mean I just feel like that would have
- 12:48Speaker 1: I think there's so much that we hear about the money, right, yeah,
- 12:51Speaker 1: especially with the Ariana of it all talking about how
- 12:56Speaker 1: they used her money. Actually thought if you guys watched
- 12:59Speaker 1: her on watch What has Ups Live recently and Kim
- 13:02Speaker 1: was there in the front row, and they handled that
- 13:04Speaker 1: whole thing beautifully. Like Kim said, I guess they she
- 13:06Speaker 1: had to pay the rent it was what it was,
- 13:08Speaker 1: or the mortgage or right. But that's that's a hard thing.
- 13:11Speaker 1: I'm sure their relationship was not easy, you know, when
- 13:15Speaker 1: Ariana realized what was going on with the money whatever,
- 13:18Speaker 1: that's not the issue today, but I think that it
- 13:20Speaker 1: probably has what do you think, Heather, at least fifty percent,
- 13:24Speaker 1: maybe more. It has to do with the fact that
- 13:27Speaker 1: they don't have any money now. Now I don't know
- 13:28Speaker 1: where all that money went. I don't know they had
- 13:33Speaker 1: that huge mansion, right, I guess they lived extravagantly.
- 13:38Speaker 2: Yeah, And I think listen, I think the fact that they're.
- 13:41Speaker 1: All kids still young.
- 13:42Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, the oldest you know, of the kids,
- 13:46Speaker 2: the four that they've had together is fourteen. The youngest
- 13:49Speaker 2: the twins are eleven.
- 13:51Speaker 1: I think they're expensive.
- 13:53Speaker 2: Having young kids really does make divorce a lot more
- 13:57Speaker 2: complicated than when kids are older, because as you are
- 14:01Speaker 2: having that struggle with custody and visitation and all that
- 14:04Speaker 2: stuff that maybe you wouldn't have if the kids were
- 14:07Speaker 2: over eighteen. So I think that's a really you know, added.
- 14:12Speaker 1: You think so you think it has much to do
- 14:13Speaker 1: with that As money.
- 14:15Speaker 2: I think that money is probably a huge factor. But
- 14:19Speaker 2: when she's claiming things like stocking and stuff like that,
- 14:23Speaker 2: I don't think that that necessarily these claims have to
- 14:26Speaker 2: do with money. This is maybe no, no, right, this
- 14:30Speaker 2: might be underlying in terms of visitation and.
- 14:33Speaker 1: Well, yes, agreed completely, I agree, But I think that
- 14:36Speaker 1: sometimes it gets so contentious so quickly, right, And they've
- 14:42Speaker 1: talked about this both publicly, when they're both so worried
- 14:46Speaker 1: about the finances and Kim, you know, selling off her things,
- 14:51Speaker 1: and a woman that is, you know, obviously she's lived well,
- 14:55Speaker 1: at least from what we've seen, a very affluent life,
- 14:57Speaker 1: and things have changed very not so quickly, but as
- 15:01Speaker 1: far as we've seen, and then it gets ugly. I
- 15:03Speaker 1: think a lot of times the fear, the financial insecurity
- 15:08Speaker 1: can lead to that kind of animosity that can then
- 15:12Speaker 1: spill over. And I'm not saying that I don't know
- 15:14Speaker 1: what happened with the kids, and I don't know about
- 15:16Speaker 1: Kroy stalking her. I I wasn't there, so who knows,
- 15:20Speaker 1: But I just my feeling is that I don't know.
- 15:24Speaker 1: I would suggest people going into a marriage if everybody
- 15:27Speaker 1: is a little bit older and has their own stuff,
- 15:30Speaker 1: not that that's even always going to make it easier.
- 15:32Speaker 2: I'll piggyback on what you're saying, Jen, I don't think
- 15:34Speaker 2: it matters whether what stage of life you're in when
- 15:37Speaker 2: you come into the relationship. Really up is the best
- 15:40Speaker 2: way to go, And I think that's what you're getting
- 15:43Speaker 2: at is, next time, Kim Kroy, if you get married
- 15:47Speaker 2: again after this, get a prenup.
- 15:49Speaker 1: Listen. I mean, I love that you're putting that out there, right,
- 15:53Speaker 1: because I think there's people have lots of different ideas
- 15:56Speaker 1: about a prenup and a lot of I think young
- 15:58Speaker 1: people feel like it is predicting that the marriage is
- 16:01Speaker 1: going to end. Right, You're taking these vowels for forever.
- 16:04Speaker 1: What are you going to say?
- 16:05Speaker 2: I was going to say that, I hear that a lot.
- 16:08Speaker 2: That's not It takes the romance out of the situation.
- 16:12Speaker 2: We've had some really amazing prenup people actually on this
- 16:15Speaker 2: podcast that have pointed out that if you get divorced,
- 16:21Speaker 2: the state that you live in has a say in
- 16:23Speaker 2: how your marital assets are divided, regardless if you know,
- 16:28Speaker 2: you decide to have a nice divorce or a contentious divorce. Right,
- 16:34Speaker 2: So approach your marriage the same way you would approach
- 16:38Speaker 2: your you know, financial portfolio, buying a house, anything like that.
- 16:44Speaker 2: It is protection for the what if you wouldn't buy
- 16:48Speaker 2: a house and not have house insurance, you wouldn't you know,
- 16:52Speaker 2: and things like that. It's like, that doesn't mean that
- 16:55Speaker 2: you hate your house if you were to buy a house,
- 16:59Speaker 2: and you know.
- 17:00Speaker 1: I think that it's sometimes harder if one person is
- 17:03Speaker 1: coming into the marriage with a career, and I mean,
- 17:06Speaker 1: let's say that they both have careers, but one is
- 17:08Speaker 1: way more lucrative. Sure, and let's just go with the
- 17:12Speaker 1: traditional idea of this. It's not always true, please, don't
- 17:17Speaker 1: you know. But let's say a young woman is going
- 17:19Speaker 1: in and a young man and she knows she wants
- 17:21Speaker 1: to have babies and her career may not may or
- 17:23Speaker 1: may not. Again I'm generalizing, but may or may not
- 17:27Speaker 1: continue in a big way when she has kids. Maybe
- 17:30Speaker 1: she wants to be a stay at home mom and
- 17:32Speaker 1: her soon to be husband is has a big job
- 17:35Speaker 1: and makes tons of money, and so I feel like
- 17:40Speaker 1: maybe the fear of if something happens and now the
- 17:43Speaker 1: kids are a certain age, I'm totally right. Like, but
- 17:47Speaker 1: I think, and you said you had some attorneys on
- 17:51Speaker 1: talking about this. If it's me and I'm advising my
- 17:54Speaker 1: daughter to take a look at like what what is
- 17:57Speaker 1: this going to look like down the road? Right, So
- 18:00Speaker 1: playing out those scenarios and saying, you know, and I
- 18:04Speaker 1: think it's probably very difficult to do. But if there
- 18:06Speaker 1: is a divorce at this point, and including that in
- 18:10Speaker 1: whatever contract you're signing, this is how much I'm going
- 18:13Speaker 1: to walk away with, not just that he gets everything
- 18:16Speaker 1: that he had, and I get everything that I had,
- 18:18Speaker 1: and that's it, right, So I guess that's negotiable. Remember
- 18:20Speaker 1: in Sex and the City, when Charlotte was arguing with
- 18:24Speaker 1: Trey's mom, did you watch, Yeah, and because she wanted
- 18:28Speaker 1: Charlotte to sign a prenup and there's a scene and
- 18:32Speaker 1: I guess they wanted to give her whatever, I don't know,
- 18:34Speaker 1: five hundred thousand dollars and she's like, I'm worth a million.
- 18:37Speaker 1: Do you remember that.
- 18:38Speaker 2: That's during the divorce.
- 18:39Speaker 1: Yeah, I know that was before they got married.
- 18:41Speaker 2: Oh, before they got married.
- 18:42Speaker 1: Yes.
- 18:42Speaker 2: Do you remember her negotiating the million because she was
- 18:45Speaker 2: worth it?
- 18:45Speaker 1: Yes? Yes, because she said she was worth it. I
- 18:47Speaker 1: love that line.
- 18:48Speaker 2: Yeah, And I think that is important. You bring up
- 18:51Speaker 2: a great fact. But also people should remember prenups can
- 18:56Speaker 2: be updated and changed throughout the marriage. So if your
- 19:01Speaker 2: life looks one way before you get married and things
- 19:04Speaker 2: change with your career, maybe you weren't the bread winner
- 19:08Speaker 2: when you first got married, but then you became a
- 19:10Speaker 2: stay at home mom who made social content and you
- 19:13Speaker 2: grew a following and now you're getting brand deals. You
- 19:16Speaker 2: can change that. And it's called a post nup, and
- 19:19Speaker 2: you can change that. And make it reflect more about
- 19:23Speaker 2: what the marriage is looking like at that current time.
- 19:26Speaker 2: So people need to get a little bit out of
- 19:28Speaker 2: the everything is so black and white in your boxed
- 19:31Speaker 2: in forever and know that things can be negotiated and changed.
- 19:35Speaker 2: So I love that Jen saying get a prenup. I'm saying,
- 19:39Speaker 2: get a prenup. And also Kim and KROI get a
- 19:41Speaker 2: divorce coach. We have us divorce coach on this show
- 19:45Speaker 2: named Samantha Boss who really opened our eyes as to
- 19:50Speaker 2: what a divorce coach can do. Especially she does high conflict,
- 19:54Speaker 2: contentious divorces like this. It's way beyond mediation. And you know,
- 19:59Speaker 2: anybody that's going through a contentious divorce right now or
- 20:02Speaker 2: is really struggling with an X that is making things
- 20:05Speaker 2: difficult should really go back and listen to that episode
- 20:08Speaker 2: because there's a ton of information as to why a
- 20:11Speaker 2: divorce coach is actually a huge asset when going through
- 20:16Speaker 2: something like this.
- 20:16Speaker 1: I mean you say asset, I think of again, of
- 20:19Speaker 1: the finances of that, and I think, imagine the money
- 20:22Speaker 1: you could save on attorney's fees if you have someone
- 20:26Speaker 1: guiding you so that it's not contentious. And I you know,
- 20:32Speaker 1: I actually am going to go back. I don't know
- 20:33Speaker 1: why I haven't listened to that episode and good stuff.
- 20:36Speaker 1: I mean, I don't plan on having being divorced at
- 20:38Speaker 1: this point, but I still I want the information.
- 20:41Speaker 2: You want the info for sure to share.
- 20:43Speaker 1: With my friends. You know a lot of whom obviously
- 20:46Speaker 1: are going through it, and I really have. I've yet
- 20:50Speaker 1: to know a couple that got divorced that where it
- 20:54Speaker 1: was friendly at the beginning and during afterwards sometimes it
- 20:58Speaker 1: gets friendly.
- 21:00Speaker 2: Yeah, and you're saying that conscious uncoupling like Gwyneth Paltrow
- 21:04Speaker 2: isn't a thing.
- 21:08Speaker 1: I can't with that. I can't even throw up in
- 21:10Speaker 1: my mouth.
- 21:11Speaker 2: I can't. I can't.
- 21:19Speaker 3: Hey guys, it's Cheryl Burke. Okay, So I have to
- 21:21Speaker 3: put you onto these leggings I've been so obsessed with lately.
- 21:24Speaker 3: They're from this brand called Tona, and get this, the
- 21:27Speaker 3: designer behind them also created Lululemon, so they know exactly
- 21:31Speaker 3: what they're doing. These leggings are next level think buttery soft,
- 21:35Speaker 3: super flattering, and very comfortable. Also, they are supportive in
- 21:39Speaker 3: all the right places. I started worrying them for when
- 21:42Speaker 3: I take my dog on walks, but now I'm basically
- 21:45Speaker 3: living in them. And here's what makes them even better.
- 21:48Speaker 3: Every pairy buy helps fund a mental health counseling session
- 21:51Speaker 3: for a teen in need. Tona's on a mission to
- 21:53Speaker 3: end teen suicide and self harm, which we think is
- 21:56Speaker 3: so important and incredible, And we've partnered with Tona to
- 21:59Speaker 3: give twenty percent off your order and free shipping. So
- 22:03Speaker 3: head to tona active dot com and use code iHeart
- 22:06Speaker 3: for twenty percent off and free shipping.
- 22:10Speaker 1: So here's a sad state of affairs, really sad. Kelly
- 22:14Speaker 1: Clarkson and her late ex husband Brandon. I think it's
- 22:20Speaker 1: is it? I thought it was beer stock blackstock, blackstock, blackstock.
- 22:25Speaker 1: Reebe McIntyre's step son. So he passed from melanoma recently,
- 22:33Speaker 1: and she's I guess she's feeling like the stress of
- 22:38Speaker 1: the divorce might have exacerbated, you know, the disease. And
- 22:43Speaker 1: and I don't know what I believe in terms of that.
- 22:45Speaker 1: I mean, I know people say that stress brings out,
- 22:48Speaker 1: you know, manifests physically, but it's so I was thinking
- 22:52Speaker 1: about this and how it must be so hard for her,
- 22:56Speaker 1: you know, it's so final and and it's been they
- 22:59Speaker 1: did They also had a very contentious uncoupling. So you
- 23:03Speaker 1: know what I was thinking about my grandparents, and both
- 23:08Speaker 1: of my grandmothers hated my grandfather's like nasty, nasty relationships,
- 23:17Speaker 1: and I think they resented the fact that back in
- 23:19Speaker 1: the day, when they were young people getting married, the
- 23:25Speaker 1: wife was expected to have You know, my nanna used
- 23:28Speaker 1: to say, a protein, a vegetable, and a starch on
- 23:31Speaker 1: the table when he got home, and he had nothing
- 23:34Speaker 1: to do with the kids, and he didn't. It wasn't
- 23:37Speaker 1: like go watch them play softball. There was the king
- 23:40Speaker 1: got home, he was served dinner. She had so much
- 23:44Speaker 1: resentment about the fact that he didn't really interact with
- 23:48Speaker 1: her or her boys, and so as they got older,
- 23:51Speaker 1: it was so ugly right between them. But once he died, Poppy,
- 23:56Speaker 1: I called him poppy. But once he died, she became
- 23:59Speaker 1: so sad and missed him so much, and both actually
- 24:04Speaker 1: both of my grandmothers talked about it, and unfortunately they
- 24:06Speaker 1: both died soon after their husbands passed. And they talked
- 24:11Speaker 1: so nicely about their husbands, and they were my They
- 24:14Speaker 1: weren't trying to impress me. I knew the relationships they
- 24:16Speaker 1: were my grandparents, But I think sometimes the finality right
- 24:20Speaker 1: of death like that. And I don't know if this
- 24:22Speaker 1: is what's going on for Kelly, but you look back
- 24:25Speaker 1: and you think I would have done things differently. I
- 24:28Speaker 1: would have said things differently. Maybe I would have been
- 24:30Speaker 1: more gentle, maybe I would have been more empathetic. And again,
- 24:35Speaker 1: I don't know that's what Kelly's going through, but what
- 24:38Speaker 1: she's saying is reminding me of this like feeling of that.
- 24:43Speaker 1: I think both my grandmothers had that. They were so
- 24:46Speaker 1: hard on my grandfather's and there was nothing looking back,
- 24:50Speaker 1: there was nothing they could do to fix it. And
- 24:52Speaker 1: I think they both felt guilty about their partner. My
- 24:55Speaker 1: grandfathers were not saints, so there's that. But I feel
- 24:59Speaker 1: for Kelly Clarkson because she's carrying around, you know, that
- 25:03Speaker 1: guilt and feeling like the stress contributed to the cancer.
- 25:08Speaker 1: It's a hard thing to live with, right.
- 25:10Speaker 2: Yeah, I listen. I think this whole situation is overall
- 25:14Speaker 2: really sad.
- 25:15Speaker 1: Right.
- 25:16Speaker 2: They have, like you said, they had gone through a
- 25:20Speaker 2: difficult divorce a couple of years ago, and they have
- 25:24Speaker 2: two kids, you know, River eleven and son Remington, who's nine,
- 25:29Speaker 2: so you know, and this is all right, We don't
- 25:34Speaker 2: have any direct fact. This is just being reported right
- 25:37Speaker 2: now in the press that you know, although the timing
- 25:41Speaker 2: could be purely coincidental. This source says that Kelly knows
- 25:45Speaker 2: how much tension the divorce and the lawsuits put on them,
- 25:49Speaker 2: and they're saying that she's not blaming herself, but the
- 25:53Speaker 2: emphasize that she is conscious that the double whammy of
- 25:56Speaker 2: the divorce and the fact that he had to repay
- 25:59Speaker 2: her millions of dollars was very tough on him, and
- 26:04Speaker 2: it really brought up for me personally. I really appreciate
- 26:07Speaker 2: you sharing your insight in with your family. For me,
- 26:13Speaker 2: my parents were divorced when I was really young and
- 26:17Speaker 2: I lost my mom. It was just recently it's been
- 26:21Speaker 2: ten years, and I thank you. And I remember the
- 26:27Speaker 2: situation of my father navigating the grief of losing his
- 26:32Speaker 2: ex wife, and it was a really it was a
- 26:37Speaker 2: delicate dance. My dad is remarried, but I think that
- 26:42Speaker 2: there was an Obviously Kelly is, as far as we know,
- 26:46Speaker 2: is not in another public relationship at this time. But
- 26:50Speaker 2: I think that there was a time where my dad
- 26:53Speaker 2: felt that he wanted to grieve. Obviously, the woman that
- 26:57Speaker 2: he had a family with that he had children with,
- 27:00Speaker 2: but was also consciously, you know, trying to not lap
- 27:04Speaker 2: in terms of his own marriage. So I think that
- 27:06Speaker 2: that's an interesting situation to be in when I mean,
- 27:12Speaker 2: my parents definitely didn't have the easiest of divorce, but
- 27:16Speaker 2: once they were able to get through, it maintained a
- 27:19Speaker 2: very friendly relationship up until my mother's passing. I mean,
- 27:22Speaker 2: I love that very friendly. I would get together constantly
- 27:27Speaker 2: for dinner, even when we were grown and out of
- 27:29Speaker 2: the house, just the two of them, And so it
- 27:33Speaker 2: wasn't something that I was expecting when going through the
- 27:36Speaker 2: grief process to also be seeing my dad going through it,
- 27:40Speaker 2: which I mean, you think about it on paper, and
- 27:44Speaker 2: it does make sense. But I think that's what a
- 27:46Speaker 2: lot of people maybe don't think about when they've gotten divorced,
- 27:51Speaker 2: especially when we talk about some of these really contentious
- 27:53Speaker 2: divorces that are happening right Like if your ex spouse,
- 27:58Speaker 2: you know, is there one moment and gone then and
- 28:00Speaker 2: then you are ultimately a total single parent. That's a
- 28:06Speaker 2: lot to take on, especially again when these kids are
- 28:09Speaker 2: very young now to have lost their fathers.
- 28:12Speaker 1: Yeah, I think that there's right. It's so multi dimensional.
- 28:16Speaker 1: It's imagine to sorrow for your kids, you know, it's
- 28:19Speaker 1: all it's so funny. It's all reminded me of Margaret
- 28:22Speaker 1: Joseph's and Joe Binigno, and Margaret was on the pod
- 28:25Speaker 1: and and her ex husband passed or ex husband jan
- 28:28Speaker 1: and it was all very public, it was on the show.
- 28:31Speaker 1: But how she felt it was hard because she you know,
- 28:35Speaker 1: she's married and they have a fabulous marriage, but at
- 28:39Speaker 1: the time she was really she had a really more
- 28:41Speaker 1: in her ex. They also had a friendly relationship. And
- 28:43Speaker 1: then also you know, feeling of if you're you went
- 28:47Speaker 1: through a contentious divorce. And I'm sure the kids always
- 28:49Speaker 1: know right they have even if they don't know, they
- 28:52Speaker 1: know that it's ugly between mom and dad. At least
- 28:55Speaker 1: that's what my therapist tells me. But so looking back
- 28:58Speaker 1: on that and and I don't there's something to be
- 29:02Speaker 1: said for really working towards an amicable split, and I
- 29:10Speaker 1: think there's you look at cases like this and it
- 29:12Speaker 1: gives you a lot of insight. I remember Kelly being
- 29:14Speaker 1: really angry, and I'm not saying she didn't have a
- 29:17Speaker 1: good reason to be, but I wonder if she had
- 29:21Speaker 1: known then what she knows now it would have been different,
- 29:25Speaker 1: she would have been maybe not. And I again, and
- 29:28Speaker 1: I'm sure he was really angry, and I don't know
- 29:30Speaker 1: what he was like to deal with. This has nothing
- 29:31Speaker 1: to do. I'm not I wasn't. I'm not making judge,
- 29:34Speaker 1: making a judgment. I'm just wondering, if you know, after
- 29:37Speaker 1: the finality of death, people do look back and wish
- 29:41Speaker 1: that they had done it differently, And it's a good
- 29:45Speaker 1: I just think it's a good It's some good insight
- 29:48Speaker 1: for anyone going through it. I'm not saying picture. I'm
- 29:50Speaker 1: sure many people going through the force wish their partner
- 29:52Speaker 1: was dead or think that they wish that their partner
- 29:54Speaker 1: was dead. But you know, there's nothing to be done now,
- 29:57Speaker 1: there's nothing that is. You can't change what happened. You
- 30:01Speaker 1: can't go back, and you know, I think about that
- 30:04Speaker 1: also a little off topic, but with my with my parents,
- 30:08Speaker 1: my father and I had a difficult relationship and it
- 30:13Speaker 1: was really difficult and now we are good and but
- 30:18Speaker 1: there's still stuff right and I also help my dad
- 30:22Speaker 1: financially and I do it. I don't want any I
- 30:28Speaker 1: don't want to look back. He's you know, he's eighty
- 30:31Speaker 1: three years old and wish that I had said something
- 30:34Speaker 1: that I didn't say. I wish that I had acted
- 30:36Speaker 1: in a way I didn't act or helped when I
- 30:39Speaker 1: didn't help. I want to I do these things for me, right,
- 30:43Speaker 1: That is what I've I've learned in therapy. And so
- 30:46Speaker 1: this relationship I have with him now, which is really
- 30:48Speaker 1: nice and warm and loving, I have I've worked like
- 30:55Speaker 1: very consciously in terms of like developing that because I
- 30:58Speaker 1: don't want to look back one day and regret not
- 31:01Speaker 1: having had a relationship with my dad, or you know,
- 31:03Speaker 1: I wish I had helped him more. But yeah, again
- 31:05Speaker 1: that's off topic, but I'm just saying that it's something
- 31:11Speaker 1: to think about. You know, these are lessons.
- 31:13Speaker 2: The sentiment is there for sure that life is short.
- 31:17Speaker 2: Do all that you can. And you know, we're obviously
- 31:21Speaker 2: wishing Kelly Clarkson and her kids and you know, Brandon's
- 31:26Speaker 2: family that has all been affected by his passing, we're
- 31:30Speaker 2: obviously all wishing them the best. And here we are
- 31:32Speaker 2: this difficult time because it is going to take time
- 31:35Speaker 2: to heal from something like this. It's that's a major
- 31:38Speaker 2: loss for that.
- 31:38Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, agreed, Okay, but on to yet another couple,
- 31:45Speaker 1: who who's going through it? So Jay Cutler and excuse me,
- 31:51Speaker 1: Kristin Cavalary. So, I guess Kristin recently said that you
- 31:56Speaker 1: got no money from the divorce, right. What do you
- 32:01Speaker 1: think of that, Heather.
- 32:01Speaker 2: I think it's a little interesting because you know, Jay
- 32:05Speaker 2: kind of you know, got back at her recently in
- 32:09Speaker 2: an interview, and we can get into that. But these two,
- 32:14Speaker 2: these two have been divorced for a minute. Yeah, and
- 32:18Speaker 2: I think it's kind of telling that the both of
- 32:23Speaker 2: them can't really seem to stop talking about the other.
- 32:27Speaker 1: Yeah, we are stuck in when did they get married
- 32:30Speaker 1: the eighties? I don't even know. No, maybe not.
- 32:33Speaker 2: They definitely didn't get married in the eighties.
- 32:35Speaker 1: Now lich longer. Sorry, guys, that's my age showing. They
- 32:38Speaker 1: just feels like they've been yeah, because they're not that old.
- 32:41Speaker 1: They're not that old. It feels like they've been married
- 32:44Speaker 1: and divorced and hate each other forever.
- 32:46Speaker 2: It's just really interesting. Like Kristen has obviously had other
- 32:50Speaker 2: public relationships romances since this divorce, and you know, the
- 32:56Speaker 2: stuff about Jay continues to come out. And I will say,
- 33:00Speaker 2: you know, I'm a little bit torn on this because
- 33:02Speaker 2: I do. I have been a longtime fan of Kristen
- 33:05Speaker 2: and do love that she shoots straight. She gives it
- 33:08Speaker 2: honest and real on her podcast in interviews, she always
- 33:13Speaker 2: doesn't hold back right, and this is why people love her,
- 33:16Speaker 2: and this is why she has maintained, you know, what
- 33:19Speaker 2: could have been deemed as a five minutes in Hollywood
- 33:23Speaker 2: and really stretched that over the course of over a
- 33:26Speaker 2: decade now. And I think that that is really because
- 33:29Speaker 2: she is open and honest with her audience, and that's
- 33:33Speaker 2: why they love her now for all you know everything,
- 33:37Speaker 2: Jay you know, was a huge football career with the
- 33:41Speaker 2: Chicago Bears, and you know, after he retired, he and
- 33:47Speaker 2: Kristen had a reality show which really did open him
- 33:51Speaker 2: up to a new audience. We got to see his
- 33:53Speaker 2: kind of funny personality. And now I believe he's doing
- 33:56Speaker 2: sports broadcasting and stuff like that so in his post
- 34:00Speaker 2: retirement career. But you know, I really we should talk
- 34:04Speaker 2: about exactly what he said.
- 34:06Speaker 1: Yeah, it made sense what he said. You know, he
- 34:10Speaker 1: said that there's not a judge in the state of
- 34:12Speaker 1: Tennessee that would have signed an agreement stating that Jay
- 34:16Speaker 1: would keep every single dollar he made throughout their marriage. Yeah,
- 34:22Speaker 1: he was. Apparently he was one of the was once
- 34:24Speaker 1: the highest paid quarterback in the NFL. He signed one
- 34:29Speaker 1: hundred and twenty six million dollar contract with the Chicago Bears.
- 34:36Speaker 1: And you know, saying that Kristen saying that she got
- 34:40Speaker 1: no money from the divorce, it definitely feels far fetched
- 34:44Speaker 1: to me. I can't read, okay, but also I guess,
- 34:51Speaker 1: and she has a whole lifestyle brand now right, she
- 34:54Speaker 1: done James, and that's making a ton of money from
- 34:57Speaker 1: what I'm reading.
- 34:58Speaker 2: Yeah, and she she has maintained that she has one
- 35:02Speaker 2: hundred percent of that company and that she never took
- 35:05Speaker 2: outside funding and Jay did not have anything to do
- 35:08Speaker 2: with its creation, and that it's making you know, fifty
- 35:12Speaker 2: million a year in revenue, which, go girl, I think
- 35:15Speaker 2: that's awesome. You know, she said I have never gotten
- 35:18Speaker 2: a penny from my ex husband and added I didn't
- 35:21Speaker 2: get any money from him in the divorce. So let's
- 35:23Speaker 2: clear that up, thank you.
- 35:25Speaker 1: I mean that if you maybe she's saying she had
- 35:29Speaker 1: her own money and in her mind what she got
- 35:32Speaker 1: was was her I mean maybe that could be interpreted
- 35:35Speaker 1: different ways, but yes, it definitely sounds unlikely to me
- 35:40Speaker 1: that he was making one hundred and twenty six million
- 35:44Speaker 1: dollars and she walked away with nothing. That sounds implausible
- 35:47Speaker 1: to me.
- 35:47Speaker 2: And I'll also back it up with you and I
- 35:50Speaker 2: both know that divorce costs a lot of money. Divorce
- 35:54Speaker 2: lawyers are not cheap. So is it that she got
- 35:57Speaker 2: money but it went to paying divorce laws and she
- 36:00Speaker 2: didn't come out with a prophet that's a different story.
- 36:03Speaker 2: That doesn't mean you didn't get any money. It means
- 36:06Speaker 2: that your money went to paying for your divorce proceedings.
- 36:09Speaker 1: It just feels like it was probably so much money there.
- 36:13Speaker 1: I don't know, but I would I would think if
- 36:16Speaker 1: Kristen was my daughter. You're right, she was not an
- 36:18Speaker 1: eighties girl.
- 36:19Speaker 2: No, Kristin and I are around the scene.
- 36:21Speaker 1: Okay, all right, okay, all right, piped down Heather. So,
- 36:25Speaker 1: but if Kristin was my daughter, which I guess she
- 36:28Speaker 1: could be, I would definitely be advising her to shh, stop,
- 36:34Speaker 1: just stop, especially because it seems that she's thriving.
- 36:37Speaker 2: She is thriving, and they have three kids. They are thirteen, eleven,
- 36:43Speaker 2: and nine, and so to me, it's also like, let's
- 36:47Speaker 2: zip it a little just because there's a great way
- 36:51Speaker 2: that it's getting back, not getting back to the kids.
- 36:54Speaker 1: At the Breed listen, and according to Jay, he says
- 36:58Speaker 1: her lifestyle brand was a marital asset because Kristen, you know,
- 37:04Speaker 1: funded the company while they were married. Another reason ladies
- 37:08Speaker 1: and gentlemen to get a prenup by the way, or
- 37:12Speaker 1: a post up exactly. But yeah, I just I it's
- 37:18Speaker 1: I would definitely advise if it's my daughter or my son,
- 37:22Speaker 1: I would be advising them both to zip it. Okay,
- 37:35Speaker 1: So here's some eighties news, Heather, it's not Kristin Larry.
- 37:41Speaker 2: I still don't think this is eighties news.
- 37:44Speaker 1: Kevin Federline is I mean, I'm saying he's he's talking
- 37:48Speaker 1: about his Brittany in his Kevin Federline has a new
- 37:50Speaker 1: book coming out, guys, but he's speaking about Britney. That
- 37:54Speaker 1: had to have been the eighties.
- 37:56Speaker 2: Jen.
- 37:56Speaker 1: No, yes, hold on a second. So Kevin Fetterline is
- 38:01Speaker 1: bringing his story.
- 38:03Speaker 2: They got married in two thousand and four and divorced
- 38:05Speaker 2: in two thousand and seven.
- 38:07Speaker 1: No, Jen, Oh my god, you guys, Okay, I'm not
- 38:13Speaker 1: a credible source. So what I'm old, Give me a break,
- 38:17Speaker 1: What do you want from me? I'm doing the best
- 38:19Speaker 1: I can be. Quiet, Heather, this is anyway he's going back.
- 38:22Speaker 1: What I'm saying is he's writing a book. Wait a second, Heather,
- 38:26Speaker 1: when I was in college. I went to college from
- 38:28Speaker 1: eighty six to ninety and while I was in college,
- 38:33Speaker 1: Britney Spears was doing her thing. Right.
- 38:37Speaker 2: No, Jen, she did not pop onto the scene until
- 38:40Speaker 2: nineteen ninety nine. What are you talking about?
- 38:44Speaker 1: Are you sure someone look that up?
- 38:45Speaker 2: Britney Spears came out with her debut album in like
- 38:48Speaker 2: ninety eight, ninety nine. I know because she was my
- 38:52Speaker 2: first concert. She opened for n Sync and that was
- 38:56Speaker 2: January of nineteen ninety nine.
- 38:59Speaker 1: Quiet, fine, whatever, We'll move on anyway. The point is
- 39:03Speaker 1: it still feels like Kevin feederline is it's an interesting
- 39:07Speaker 1: time for him to be writing a book about and
- 39:11Speaker 1: I'm I think anybody would assume that it's going to
- 39:13Speaker 1: have a lot to do with Britney. This book. That's
- 39:15Speaker 1: what's going to make it so interesting, right. But also
- 39:17Speaker 1: apparently his son, their son just turned I don't know,
- 39:21Speaker 1: seventeen or eighteen, and I guess child support is over.
- 39:25Speaker 2: Yes, So the new book, his new his first memoir
- 39:29Speaker 2: is called You Thought You knew, and it's coming out
- 39:34Speaker 2: October twenty first, And yeah, I think it's really interesting
- 39:40Speaker 2: timing because him and Brittany have two sons, Sean Preston
- 39:44Speaker 2: and Jayden James. Sean is nineteen Jade and James recently
- 39:49Speaker 2: turned eighteen. So that and anybody that's followed the Britney
- 39:56Speaker 2: story knows that a couple of years ago, Kevin to
- 40:00Speaker 2: you know, full custody of the boys and was raising them.
- 40:04Speaker 2: So that means that Britney was paying child support. So
- 40:09Speaker 2: that obviously means that it's most likely done now that
- 40:12Speaker 2: they are eighteen. Now, who's to say that she's not
- 40:15Speaker 2: still supporting them in some way financially. But I think
- 40:18Speaker 2: it's really interesting that this is now when Kevin decides
- 40:22Speaker 2: to come out with a memoir. Now we also know
- 40:25Speaker 2: that Britney had her own memoir that came out and
- 40:28Speaker 2: is also being made into a movie. You know, I
- 40:32Speaker 2: just feel like, I don't know, you can you tell me.
- 40:35Speaker 2: I feel like Brittany, we all know, has been through
- 40:38Speaker 2: a lot, and it kind of bums me out that
- 40:41Speaker 2: now somebody else again in her life, in her inner circle,
- 40:47Speaker 2: is going to try a buck off of her.
- 40:50Speaker 1: I gotta tell you guys something, Heather, you are one
- 40:52Speaker 1: amongst many. But but Britney lovers like people that I
- 40:58Speaker 1: know younger than me, but that grew up on Brittany.
- 41:02Speaker 1: They are emotional about everything Brittany. They get so upset.
- 41:07Speaker 1: My friend and my manager loves Brittany, Like, don't you
- 41:13Speaker 1: say a bad word about Brittany. I remember even when
- 41:17Speaker 1: I was recording season we were doing filming Season fourteen,
- 41:21Speaker 1: Rachel Fuda, we had a whole funny thing about Brittany
- 41:24Speaker 1: because you do not diss Brittany in front of her.
- 41:27Speaker 1: So people get very sensitive about Brittany. And I think
- 41:31Speaker 1: probably because she's definitely seemed over the years to be
- 41:37Speaker 1: she's always struggling, you know, with her mental health. With paparazzi,
- 41:42Speaker 1: we all watched her shave her head and take the
- 41:44Speaker 1: baseball back to the car and so talented, right, was
- 41:48Speaker 1: so much to offer this world.
- 41:50Speaker 2: Yeah, And I think anybody who's listened or read her memoir,
- 41:55Speaker 2: it was eye opening. It was extremely sad to hear
- 41:59Speaker 2: about how she has been internally struggling this past you know, decade. Really,
- 42:07Speaker 2: So I will play a little bit of Devil's advocate
- 42:09Speaker 2: in the sense that. Because I did read Britney's memoir,
- 42:12Speaker 2: I do know that Kevin was mentioned quite a bit
- 42:15Speaker 2: in it because he is a big chunk and important
- 42:18Speaker 2: part of her life. He was her second husband and
- 42:21Speaker 2: the only one that she had children with. So you know,
- 42:26Speaker 2: I will say that Kevin does have the right to
- 42:31Speaker 2: write a book and mention Brittany and talk about his life.
- 42:34Speaker 2: He says, you know that it's going to be extremely
- 42:38Speaker 2: intimate and transparent when it comes to this book. And
- 42:43Speaker 2: if anybody didn't know, prior to being with Britney, Kevin
- 42:47Speaker 2: was a professional dancer. He danced with my major in
- 42:51Speaker 2: Pink Destiny's Child.
- 42:53Speaker 1: Right, he was a dancer. He was back, Yeah, he was.
- 42:56Speaker 2: He was dancing for her. So he was also with
- 42:59Speaker 2: shar Jackson prior to being with Brittany. So he had
- 43:02Speaker 2: a child or two children with her. Right, it's not
- 43:06Speaker 2: a life, you know. I won't deny that.
- 43:09Speaker 1: But you're protective over Brittany.
- 43:11Speaker 2: I just think it's a little bit of a bummer
- 43:13Speaker 2: that this keeps happening to her, and I just want Brittany.
- 43:16Speaker 2: I don't want to say leave Brittany alone, which is
- 43:19Speaker 2: obviously the famous quote, but I do want Brittany to
- 43:23Speaker 2: have a you know, I wish her a lot of
- 43:25Speaker 2: peace and to have a different lifestyle now that you
- 43:28Speaker 2: know she's gone through her second public divorce with Sam.
- 43:32Speaker 1: I'd love Brittany. I love her music, and I've certainly watched,
- 43:36Speaker 1: you know, what she's been through, and but I can't
- 43:40Speaker 1: begrudge him, you know, trying to make the big bucks,
- 43:45Speaker 1: and I think it will sell. There's that.
- 43:48Speaker 2: I think so too, and I think it's going to
- 43:50Speaker 2: get a lot of attention.
- 43:51Speaker 1: We just feel bad for Brittany, is basically what you're saying.
- 43:53Speaker 1: And I don't. I do too, but I I have
- 43:56Speaker 1: to say that, you know, man's got to eat. I
- 44:00Speaker 1: don't know, and and maybe there are there are other
- 44:02Speaker 1: ways to do it, But you know, I also do
- 44:05Speaker 1: think that Brittany obviously, I'm I'm thrilled when her Conservative
- 44:11Speaker 1: conservatorship was thrown out right, but she still to me,
- 44:17Speaker 1: doesn't seem well and maybe how I you know, I
- 44:22Speaker 1: see her dancing like everybody's kind of teases about her
- 44:25Speaker 1: dancing with knives, and she seems a little a little unglued.
- 44:30Speaker 1: But I'm on the shrink. But having said all that,
- 44:34Speaker 1: I wonder what it's been like for him and his
- 44:36Speaker 1: boys dealing with that, right, because they don't deal with
- 44:40Speaker 1: it like we deal with it. We watch it and
- 44:42Speaker 1: we feel badly or we you know, feel sometimes even
- 44:46Speaker 1: amused seeing everything seems so wild. And but for him,
- 44:49Speaker 1: I'm sure that's been very hard. Certainly it has to
- 44:52Speaker 1: have been for his boys. So he has a story
- 44:54Speaker 1: to tell. And I, you know, don't I don't wish
- 44:59Speaker 1: that on, you know, any more sadness or any more
- 45:02Speaker 1: controversy for Brittany. But I don't know. I sort of
- 45:07Speaker 1: feel like I don't blame him. How's that?
- 45:11Speaker 2: I agree? And I get again, you know, she's come
- 45:14Speaker 2: out with hers talked about him. I guess he has
- 45:17Speaker 2: every right to come out with his own now and
- 45:18Speaker 2: talk about her. So we'll stay glued to it. It's
- 45:21Speaker 2: coming out October twenty first you thought you knew, So
- 45:24Speaker 2: we'll keep you guys updated on that one.
- 45:27Speaker 1: It's a good title, it is.
- 45:29Speaker 2: It is kind of a good title.
- 45:30Speaker 1: I do like that, right, I do too. You want
- 45:34Speaker 1: to talk to Jessica Alba and Cash Warren?
- 45:36Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean we got to end this episode on
- 45:38Speaker 2: some positives.
- 45:41Speaker 1: We could do. Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau. I just
- 45:44Speaker 1: thought it was justin throw Justin Trudeau.
- 45:47Speaker 2: Justin Trudeau is different than Justin.
- 45:50Speaker 1: Through Okay, see this, I hadn't heard about this one before.
- 45:53Speaker 1: The Katy Perry in my mind, she's just like split
- 45:57Speaker 1: with Orlando, so she did.
- 45:59Speaker 3: She did know.
- 46:00Speaker 2: That's what I think is amazing that we should let
- 46:03Speaker 2: our listeners know is that there is light at the
- 46:05Speaker 2: end of the tunnel, and some people are finding that
- 46:07Speaker 2: light a little sooner than maybe others are. We got
- 46:20Speaker 2: to end on something positive because, like you know, Jessica
- 46:24Speaker 2: Alba and Cash Warren, they were together for married for
- 46:28Speaker 2: sixteen years, and at the top of this year they
- 46:30Speaker 2: announced that they were separating and going through the divorce motions,
- 46:34Speaker 2: which was pretty shocking. I think to anybody that has,
- 46:39Speaker 2: you know, followed either Jessica through her launching of The
- 46:42Speaker 2: Honest Company or her you know, acting career, nobody really
- 46:47Speaker 2: saw kind of trouble in Paradise.
- 46:50Speaker 1: Yeah, they always presented. They're so gorgeous, exactly, and they
- 46:54Speaker 1: just right always presented, at least to me on red carpets,
- 46:57Speaker 1: is just madly in love and yeah, this really beautiful
- 47:01Speaker 1: power couple.
- 47:02Speaker 2: Exactly, and they've got three kids seventeen, fourteen, and seven.
- 47:08Speaker 2: So yeah, that was pretty shocking at the top of
- 47:10Speaker 2: this year for them to announce that. But it looks
- 47:13Speaker 2: like they are both moving on in their own ways
- 47:16Speaker 2: and are doing quite well. So Cash was seen for
- 47:20Speaker 2: the second time holding hands with Hannahson Doer I will
- 47:25Speaker 2: say is how it's pronounced having dinner in Los Angeles,
- 47:29Speaker 2: so that a lot of sources are saying makes it
- 47:32Speaker 2: official because they've been seen twice holding out. So I
- 47:36Speaker 2: mean take that with a grain of salt. But you know,
- 47:40Speaker 2: I think definitely, when you're a public figure and you're
- 47:43Speaker 2: out there holding hands, getting you know, snapped by the paparazzi,
- 47:48Speaker 2: it means that you're comfortable or you're cool with people.
- 47:50Speaker 1: See Hopefully, it means that you've also talked to your kids, hope,
- 47:54Speaker 1: and that they knew it was coming. I mean to
- 47:55Speaker 1: think of the Mauricio of it all when he was snapped.
- 47:59Speaker 1: Oh and yeah, right, that is the thing. I mean,
- 48:03Speaker 1: all roads lead back to the kids, and that's you know,
- 48:07Speaker 1: that's the part that it gets it gets really where
- 48:09Speaker 1: it gets really sticky.
- 48:11Speaker 2: What I would say about the most situation, which is
- 48:13Speaker 2: a little different than this is these two Cash and Hannah.
- 48:18Speaker 2: They're holding hands, they're smiling, and they're looking exactly like
- 48:22Speaker 2: directly to the camera.
- 48:24Speaker 1: They're not getting caught, so their kids are probably and
- 48:26Speaker 1: you don't know how long they've been in the midst
- 48:28Speaker 1: of separating and what the kid right of course exactly.
- 48:31Speaker 2: So I'm gonna toss it out there that they're probably
- 48:35Speaker 2: feeling good about this relationship. It seems to be progressing,
- 48:38Speaker 2: whatever it is. But also I kind of love that.
- 48:42Speaker 2: You know. We've also seen paparazzi photos of Jessica Alba
- 48:46Speaker 2: and Danny Ramirez, so they've been spotted kissing. We've actually
- 48:51Speaker 2: seen pictures of them kissing, and you know, she seems
- 48:55Speaker 2: to be happy. She was recently also like vacationing and
- 48:59Speaker 2: like posting some really hot photos of herself in a bikini.
- 49:04Speaker 2: So it seems like they're both doing their thing.
- 49:07Speaker 1: Well listen, yeah, it does. I again, since they're from
- 49:11Speaker 1: the eighties, I love it, and I'm there i'm their
- 49:20Speaker 1: mother's age, but I probably am. But I would just
- 49:23Speaker 1: tell them I would beg of them, don't rush, don't
- 49:26Speaker 1: rush into the next thing, and and and all those
- 49:29Speaker 1: cliches you know, I feel like there are cliches for
- 49:33Speaker 1: a reason. You don't want your rebound to end up
- 49:38Speaker 1: being your Oh, although I'm not saying it never works right,
- 49:40Speaker 1: Maybe maybe that's what's going on here, But be very
- 49:44Speaker 1: careful about rebound relationships, you guys. They are sticky. Your
- 49:50Speaker 1: emotions are all over the place, especially when you are
- 49:55Speaker 1: coming out of a marriage. And I'm not saying that
- 49:56Speaker 1: maybe each maybe Jessica and Cash have now found true
- 50:01Speaker 1: happiness with these other, you know, two people, but careful, careful,
- 50:05Speaker 1: slowed it down. Danger warning ahead, danger ahead.
- 50:10Speaker 2: Well let's end. Let's end on this other interesting headline
- 50:15Speaker 2: that we're seeing, which is Katy Perry and former Prime
- 50:20Speaker 2: Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau are dating.
- 50:25Speaker 1: And so at first when I read that, Heather, I
- 50:27Speaker 1: thought it was Justin Threau. Just so, you know, so
- 50:30Speaker 1: everything I have to I have to sort of this
- 50:32Speaker 1: is all. This is so bizarre to me. I have
- 50:34Speaker 1: to now Justin Threau would have made sense. Justin Trudeau.
- 50:39Speaker 1: He's gorgeous, so whatever you want to say about him,
- 50:42Speaker 1: man is handsome exactly. Obviously Katie is gorgeous as well.
- 50:46Speaker 1: And but what I know, I can't I'm trying to
- 50:51Speaker 1: like you explained that to me?
- 50:54Speaker 2: How did that? How bizarre? So, I mean the headline
- 50:57Speaker 2: says that they have plenty to talk about, but no
- 51:00Speaker 2: current plans after date. So if anybody's been paying attention
- 51:05Speaker 2: to the headlines, these two were spotted having dinner together
- 51:11Speaker 2: and then two days later, Trudeau was spotted at Katy
- 51:15Speaker 2: Perry's show in Montreal. So you know, Katie is fresh
- 51:22Speaker 2: off of her broken engagement with Orlando Bloom, who she
- 51:27Speaker 2: had a child with though they were never married. Obviously,
- 51:31Speaker 2: if everybody can go back in their brains, they know
- 51:34Speaker 2: that Katie was previously married to Russell Brand, so she
- 51:37Speaker 2: definitely is in her Part two Part three era.
- 51:41Speaker 1: These come on the pod for some reason, not if
- 51:44Speaker 1: I'm I feel like maybe maybe if Jenny Garth or
- 51:49Speaker 1: Amy and TJ.
- 51:51Speaker 2: Listen always open to Katie coming on, if she would
- 51:54Speaker 2: be interested in that, Yeah, Kati, you hear that.
- 51:58Speaker 1: Justin.
- 51:58Speaker 2: Trudeau, on the other hand, and and his wife Sophie,
- 52:03Speaker 2: announced in August of twenty twenty three that they were
- 52:06Speaker 2: separating after eighteen years of marriage and they have two children,
- 52:13Speaker 2: so that's a really long relationship to have ended. And
- 52:18Speaker 2: then obviously if you're following politics whatsoever. You know that
- 52:23Speaker 2: he also stepped down as Prime Minister of Canada not
- 52:27Speaker 2: too long ago. So he's definitely going through a big
- 52:31Speaker 2: shift right now in terms of his not only work life,
- 52:35Speaker 2: but his personal life. So, you know, I don't know.
- 52:38Speaker 2: I will say that the pictures I saw of them
- 52:40Speaker 2: on their date, I was like, uh, you know, attractive couple,
- 52:44Speaker 2: and obviously.
- 52:45Speaker 1: Oh they're dating. I don't even I will be.
- 52:47Speaker 2: I will be totally honest. I have followed Katy Perry's
- 52:51Speaker 2: romantic life probably more than I would care to admit,
- 52:55Speaker 2: and I will say that I really don't get what
- 52:58Speaker 2: her type is. I say that honestly.
- 53:01Speaker 1: I mean, okay, ready, don't cringe. She kissed a girl
- 53:03Speaker 1: and she liked it. Ew ew, I'm so cringey. Oh
- 53:08Speaker 1: my god, my kids would be so pissed. Don't listen.
- 53:10Speaker 1: Rachel or Zach.
- 53:12Speaker 2: Having a long term relationship with you know, John Mayer,
- 53:17Speaker 2: being married to Russell Brand, you know, being with Orlando Bloom.
- 53:22Speaker 2: I look at all these guys on paper, and I say,
- 53:25Speaker 2: what's the connection? You know what I mean? Because it
- 53:27Speaker 2: all seems so different. And so now he's getting into
- 53:31Speaker 2: a politician like it's all go girl, Like jan.
- 53:35Speaker 1: I don't know, this is again, this is just me
- 53:37Speaker 1: starting trouble. But do you think that part of it
- 53:39Speaker 1: is could be a rebrand for her?
- 53:41Speaker 3: Right?
- 53:42Speaker 1: She got so much about her, you know, her astronaut
- 53:48Speaker 1: escapades and maybe, yeah, I don't know, I'm just that
- 53:54Speaker 1: I'm just making up you guys. I don't know if
- 53:56Speaker 1: that's I can't imagine that Justin Trudeau would be interested
- 53:59Speaker 1: in helping someone and rebrand themselves. But yeah, he's certainly
- 54:02Speaker 1: a more serious guy.
- 54:04Speaker 2: Listen, what I'm going to say is I think that Katie,
- 54:08Speaker 2: I would say, probably has an affinity. If you look
- 54:11Speaker 2: at all these guys on paper, I think the one
- 54:15Speaker 2: factor that I'm seeing kind of combine across the thing
- 54:18Speaker 2: is they're all really good engaging talkers. I think she
- 54:22Speaker 2: likes a guy that is, whether that's gregarious or engaging
- 54:27Speaker 2: in stimulating conversation, that would be.
- 54:30Speaker 1: My guest interesting.
- 54:31Speaker 2: And I would say that Justin Trudeau probably is able
- 54:34Speaker 2: to have some very stimulating conversation.
- 54:36Speaker 1: Yes, I'm a betting girl. I'm betting on Justin to
- 54:39Speaker 1: be able to carry a conversation exactly. But it's always
- 54:42Speaker 1: like that look at j Loo. I mean, I don't
- 54:43Speaker 1: know how you compare. There have been a lot of them,
- 54:47Speaker 1: Alex rod Well, actually they're all maybe not her first
- 54:50Speaker 1: husband was not so famous and successful. I don't remember,
- 54:54Speaker 1: but certainly from you know, Ben Stiller to Alexdrigez too.
- 55:01Speaker 2: I'm sorry, sorry, you mean Ben Affleck, not Ben Stiller.
- 55:05Speaker 1: Not doing this podcast anymore? I quit. No, I do
- 55:08Speaker 1: not like how you're treating me. I'm sorry, I do
- 55:11Speaker 1: not like it.
- 55:11Speaker 2: I'm sorry.
- 55:12Speaker 1: I'm not having it.
- 55:13Speaker 2: I would have just loved Jen Fessler breaks headline, j
- 55:17Speaker 2: Loo used to be with Ben Stiller.
- 55:20Speaker 1: I didn't say Stiller. You did know what I thought
- 55:24Speaker 1: this had been? Oh god, I said Stiller. Oh no,
- 55:29Speaker 1: oh my god. I love it.
- 55:31Speaker 3: Jen.
- 55:31Speaker 2: It's early.
- 55:32Speaker 1: Listen it. When you need an authority on anything, you
- 55:33Speaker 1: should come to me. If you want to know about marriage,
- 55:35Speaker 1: and really ask Jen Fssler. I think Bessler. Is that
- 55:38Speaker 1: my last name?
- 55:39Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 55:39Speaker 1: I think I was born in the eighties, so I
- 55:41Speaker 1: have a lot of I have a lot of knowledge
- 55:44Speaker 1: to impart.
- 55:45Speaker 2: I love it. Whoa well, I will say whatever this
- 55:49Speaker 2: little budding romance is connection, whatever it might be, I'm
- 55:53Speaker 2: into it. Not that they need my stamp of approval.
- 55:56Speaker 2: But I'm kind of into it. What about you?
- 55:58Speaker 1: Into it too? Crazy Katie Perry fan, She's cute, talented.
