- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Mark Simone Show on seven to ten
- 0:03Speaker 1: WI Ken Today. Here's Ken Rosatto. Good to be with you.
- 0:08Speaker 1: We go to the phones right now, Jay, good morning,
- 0:10Speaker 1: you're on the air.
- 0:12Speaker 2: Good morning, Ken. How are you?
- 0:13Speaker 1: I'm good? Thank you good.
- 0:15Speaker 3: I just.
- 0:17Speaker 2: Are illustrious Governor Murphy's press police regarding.
- 0:23Speaker 1: You know what, are you going to repeat yourself? Because
- 0:25Speaker 1: my headphones have a short? Please say that one more time, Jay,
- 0:28Speaker 1: Now I got them.
- 0:28Speaker 2: Midge, I just wonder please that New Jersey's Governor Murphy
- 0:34Speaker 2: put out regarding the SNAP benefits.
- 0:36Speaker 1: Yes, oh, you know what I didn't see? Did you
- 0:38Speaker 1: just put out a new press release now late?
- 0:41Speaker 2: Yes, look at that Trump administration's failure to fund SNAP.
- 0:45Speaker 1: Oh, of course it's the Trump administration. So you have
- 0:48Speaker 1: like three hundred and fifty four hundred Republicans supporting a
- 0:52Speaker 1: continuing resolution, a Democrat spending plan that was passed a
- 0:56Speaker 1: year ago, that was under the Biden administration. That was
- 0:59Speaker 1: perfectly fine for them then, but now we will want
- 1:03Speaker 1: to extend it four weeks. That's it, so that we
- 1:06Speaker 1: can keep the government open, give people the Schnap benefits,
- 1:09Speaker 1: and then work on a new spending plan for the
- 1:11Speaker 1: next year, they won't give us five more votes, and
- 1:15Speaker 1: yet somehow it's Trump's failure. Yeah, that's right, Well it
- 1:18Speaker 1: makes total sense. You know what the American people are
- 1:21Speaker 1: calling it bs a merchant. Nobody has just heard you
- 1:24Speaker 1: say that he's the least effective governor I think we've
- 1:28Speaker 1: ever had in New Jersey. It's a joke and glad
- 1:31Speaker 1: to see him go audio. So you notice you notice
- 1:34Speaker 1: that Mikey Cheryl thinks so little of him that he's
- 1:36Speaker 1: not campaigning with her. Jay, thank you so much, appreciate
- 1:39Speaker 1: the call. We go to Steve in Manhattan. Good morning,
- 1:45Speaker 1: Hey Steve, you.
- 1:48Speaker 3: Are we belong on the airwaves.
- 1:50Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 1:51Speaker 3: And remember this year, this year we have two halloweens.
- 1:55Speaker 3: We have one today and we also have one in
- 1:57Speaker 3: November fourth. I just want to go mind people, Ken
- 2:01Speaker 3: this is important that we have to get out there.
- 2:04Speaker 3: There's other people on the ballot, and there's ballot initiatives
- 2:08Speaker 3: in New York City one through six, ballance two, three,
- 2:12Speaker 3: and four. Folks, everyone's putting a big no there that
- 2:15Speaker 3: takes away your power in your neighborhood, your community, to
- 2:19Speaker 3: stop developers from going in there and doing whatever they want.
- 2:23Speaker 3: All the power will go to the mayor pitch a
- 2:25Speaker 3: man Danny. With this power, They'll put homeless shelters in
- 2:28Speaker 3: your neighborhood. He'll put housing projects. And if you don't
- 2:31Speaker 3: own a home or a condo, it still affects you.
- 2:33Speaker 3: You're renting. You might have a nice neighborhood in the
- 2:35Speaker 3: south shore of Staten Island. There's build the housing project
- 2:38Speaker 3: next door to you. No on two, three, and four proposals. Folks,
- 2:42Speaker 3: Let's not get caught up in all the things because
- 2:44Speaker 3: we have with the seven there's seven council members or Republicans.
- 2:48Speaker 3: A couple of those late races were real close. Yes,
- 2:51Speaker 3: so I'm told my cards right on the table.
- 2:53Speaker 4: Steve.
- 2:54Speaker 1: I know you're right, and I'm with you because and look,
- 2:56Speaker 1: I love Curtis. I pray every day for the miracle.
- 2:59Speaker 1: I can't vote in New or I live in New Jersey,
- 3:01Speaker 1: but I pray for him. You know it's the truth.
- 3:03Speaker 1: Too many people just vote for the top office and
- 3:05Speaker 1: walk out. You've got to go down the ballot and
- 3:07Speaker 1: take a minute and study the bat You can go
- 3:09Speaker 1: online and get the ballots they sent you sample ballots
- 3:11Speaker 1: in the mail. Sit down, read the ballots over the weekend.
- 3:15Speaker 1: Make sure you know exactly what you're going to do
- 3:17Speaker 1: when you get in the voting booth. Don't look at
- 3:19Speaker 1: the at the proposals. First thing when you walk in
- 3:22Speaker 1: the booth, know in advance what you're going to be
- 3:24Speaker 1: voting for. I'm with you. We go to Jerry and
- 3:25Speaker 1: New Jersey. Good morning to you, Good.
- 3:28Speaker 3: Morning, Ken.
- 3:30Speaker 2: I believe the Democrats purposely keeping the government clothed until
- 3:34Speaker 2: after the election.
- 3:35Speaker 1: I agree, so they can.
- 3:36Speaker 2: Get some gas into the New Jersey election, Virginia and
- 3:39Speaker 2: New York.
- 3:40Speaker 1: I think you're a one hundred percent right. I guarantee
- 3:43Speaker 1: you're right. If I'm sorry to step on you, Jerry,
- 3:45Speaker 1: I bet you by Thursday, you'll see that they'll somehow
- 3:48Speaker 1: come up with the extra votes in the Senate. And
- 3:50Speaker 1: that's why the idea I know President Trump is saying,
- 3:53Speaker 1: go nuclear. I don't know about that, because once you
- 3:55Speaker 1: go nuclear, that's it, once you've let the cat out
- 3:57Speaker 1: of the bag, that's it exactly. I'm with you. And
- 4:00Speaker 1: then if you remember, if we becoming the minority in
- 4:03Speaker 1: the Senate, then we have no say against the Democrat.
- 4:05Speaker 1: So I don't know that that's such a great idea,
- 4:07Speaker 1: but I'm with you very much, Jerry, I appreciate it.
- 4:10Speaker 1: Have a great day and happy Halloween. And we got
- 4:12Speaker 1: to Vincent in Brooklyn. My friend, how are you good morning?
- 4:15Speaker 4: Ken? I'm fine. Ken. You're right on the money when
- 4:18Speaker 4: you talk about all the rules and regulations that homeowners
- 4:23Speaker 4: have to comply with in the state of New York
- 4:26Speaker 4: and in the City of New York. Can any rent increase?
- 4:30Speaker 4: I gave my tenants because every year my taxes on
- 4:34Speaker 4: my houses keep going up. This year was offset by
- 4:39Speaker 4: a new one. Now the city council made of law.
- 4:43Speaker 4: I have to have an EPA certified LED inspector come
- 4:49Speaker 4: in each apartment to inspect it for lead fume that
- 4:55Speaker 4: may be left over from one hundred years ago. Furst Off.
- 5:00Speaker 4: Nobody uses lead based paint anymore. The only place where
- 5:05Speaker 4: and I used to work at a steel factory almost
- 5:08Speaker 4: sixty years ago, we used to I used to fabricate
- 5:13Speaker 4: fuel tanks for buildings, gas stations and for home heating oil.
- 5:18Speaker 4: And the red paint on there is what's called red oxide.
- 5:23Speaker 4: That's the only place it was used, and then you
- 5:26Speaker 4: would paint over it. So now despite the fact that
- 5:30Speaker 4: the lead paint becomes innocuous when you paint over it.
- 5:35Speaker 4: In the past, I could self certify, especially in the
- 5:39Speaker 4: case of my homes, all the walls were ripped out,
- 5:43Speaker 4: the houses were renovated many times in the last hundred years,
- 5:48Speaker 4: and in the past I could certify that there were
- 5:51Speaker 4: no children under six years old in the apartment, that
- 5:55Speaker 4: there's no kids eating paint hips. Where are their father
- 6:00Speaker 4: looking at these kids?
- 6:02Speaker 1: The ghetto and that, Vincent, just wait till you have
- 6:04Speaker 1: a communist mayor in this I'm sorry, democratic socialist mayor
- 6:08Speaker 1: in this city. You'll have if you think the regulations
- 6:10Speaker 1: are bad, Now forget about it. It's gonna be crazy.
- 6:14Speaker 4: Man on Mark Simone's advice, My girlfriend and I already
- 6:18Speaker 4: looking at a second home in Fairfield, Connecticut.
- 6:22Speaker 1: Hey, listen, come over to Jersey. If we get Chittarelli
- 6:25Speaker 1: in come and live with us in Jersey. It's a
- 6:27Speaker 1: good place.
- 6:28Speaker 4: Okay. I'm gonna teach you summer time. It's not Sharelly.
- 6:31Speaker 1: It's had this discussion.
- 6:38Speaker 4: Yes, he calls sauce gravy.
- 6:42Speaker 1: Well think about it in terms of sugo. That's that's
- 6:45Speaker 1: what it is, sugo. All right, Vincent, I love you, brother,
- 6:47Speaker 1: God bless you. I have a good Halloween, good weekend.
- 6:50Speaker 1: Seven ten w o R the time ten thirty four
- 6:52Speaker 1: and a little later we'll speak with New Jersey Republican
- 6:54Speaker 1: state Senator Michael Testa about the Schumer Democrat government shutdown,
- 6:58Speaker 1: and starting tomorrow, eight hundred thousand New Jersey residents who
- 7:01Speaker 1: depend on Snap to eat will not be getting their funds.
