Transcript
- 0:00Uh,
- 0:03jasmine, oolong, green
- 0:06and white. Long ago, these four
- 0:08teas were skilfully brewed at the Blissful Brew.
- 0:11Then everything changed when the shop's
- 0:14popularity threatened its existence.
- 0:17All Mr. Okuron, the shop's owner and tea
- 0:20master, could do was to recruit four teenage
- 0:23orphans to learn his trade and and staff his
- 0:25shop. A year has passed since the orphans were
- 0:28hired, and although their skills have progressed, they
- 0:31still have a lot to learn before they can brew anything.
- 0:34But I believe that they have the potential to make the
- 0:37Blissful Brew the greatest tea shop in the
- 0:39world.
- 0:43Imagine, if you will, a story.
- 0:46But not the usual story, which steps in through
- 0:49your front door, but rather through the back
- 0:52door. I'm talking about a back
- 0:54story. But back doors won't be the only
- 0:57doors discussed in today's episode. No, not
- 1:00today. We will be looking into the story
- 1:03of Bill Dor, an
- 1:05unsuspecting child living a seemingly normal life in the
- 1:08Fire Nation. Unsuspecting of what, you may uh, ask?
- 1:11Unsuspecting that he is about to enter
- 1:14the prequel zone.
- 1:21Ash? Ash, where are
- 1:24you? I can't
- 1:27find you. I'm dead. Ash.
- 1:31Help. It
- 1:34help. It hurts.
- 1:41Oh, you look like you've experienced quite the
- 1:43dream, my child. Are you all right?
- 1:46Um, yeah, I'm fine.
- 1:49I have some tasty lavender chamomile tea
- 1:52for you if you'd like. Could add a little
- 1:55warm milk, mix it in. Should help you get a
- 1:57peaceful sleep if you want.
- 2:01No, thanks. I'm not really a fan of
- 2:03tea.
- 2:05Not a fan of tea.
- 2:08Apologies. I don't think
- 2:11I could be friends with someone who doesn't like tea.
- 2:14That's fine. I'm not really on this ship to make friends
- 2:17anyways.
- 2:19I was kidding. But, uh, I tell you what. Uh, you
- 2:22take your chances with my tea, and I'll take my
- 2:25chances with being your friend. What do you
- 2:27say?
- 2:28Sure. I don't see why not. I don't have anything else better to
- 2:31do. But don't think you'll get me to start liking your tea.
- 2:34I'm all for learning how to make it, but actually liking the
- 2:37stuff, well, that's a different story.
- 2:40M all
- 2:43right, fine. That works for me. You
- 2:45get some rest, my child.
- 2:55Welcome. How can I help you?
- 2:57The name is General Wang Long.
- 3:00Are you Jasper BERTNEY?
- 3:02That's me. Oh, and this is my son, Ash. He's
- 3:05just stopping in to hand off my lunch. I forgot from home.
- 3:08What can I do for you, sir?
- 3:10I hear you're quite the engineer.
- 3:12Well, I do what I can. What
- 3:15can I do for you, General?
- 3:17I'm in need of a weapon.
- 3:19Okay. What kind of weapon?
- 3:21Uh, that's what I'm not sure about yet. Something
- 3:24big, something
- 3:27powerful.
- 3:28Is there something specific that the Fire Nation needs it for
- 3:32a, uh, specific purpose, yes.
- 3:34I'm trying to take out an Earth Nation village with
- 3:37it, so it needs to be able to withstand and
- 3:40bust through rocks, dirt, that sort of thing.
- 3:43Wait a second. An Earth Nation
- 3:45village? I'm confused. Are we at
- 3:48war?
- 3:49War? No, not currently.
- 3:52Just need to test out the Fire Nation's
- 3:54capabilities, determine how capable we
- 3:57are should we need to go to war
- 4:00in the near future.
- 4:01And you want to do that by testing out a war machine of
- 4:04my design on an Earth Kingdom village?
- 4:06That is correct. Why do you make it sound like that's a
- 4:09problem?
- 4:10That's a war crime. You must be
- 4:13joking, right? Um, this can't possibly be
- 4:16sanctioned by the Fire Nation military.
- 4:18I beg your pardon, Jasper, but I am, um,
- 4:21a representative of the Fire Nation army.
- 4:24Consider my orders as if they are coming straight
- 4:27from the lips of the Fire Lord himself.
- 4:30Now, can you make me my
- 4:32weapon or not?
- 4:34Whether I can or can't is irrelevant, uh,
- 4:37because I won't. I won't allow my designs to be
- 4:40used in the prospect of attacking the lives of the innocent.
- 4:43Now, if you don't mind, General, I have a lot
- 4:46of work to do. If you need me to get the door for you,
- 4:49I can, but otherwise it's behind you.
- 4:52If you would be so kind.
- 4:55This is not the end of this
- 4:57discussion.
- 4:58I believe it is. Good day, sir.
- 5:06Dad, is everything okay?
- 5:08I'm not sure, son. I've heard others speak of
- 5:11similar things that have me concerned about the priorities of our Fire
- 5:14Lord.
- 5:15In school they said we should never question the Fire
- 5:18Lord.
- 5:18I know they do, son. But just remember that
- 5:21sometimes what society deems correct isn't always
- 5:24so. It's important that you always remember to
- 5:27think for yourself and think critically. Never
- 5:30take things at face value. And of course,
- 5:33always stick up for what's right, no matter what.
- 5:35Protect the innocent. Guard those who are weaker
- 5:38than yourself. Do you understand?
- 5:41Yeah, I understand, dad.
- 5:42Good boy. Now head on back home.
- 5:46Your mother is probably wondering where you got off to.
- 5:49Yes, sir.
- 5:56Well, uh, it looks like you managed to get a
- 5:59good night's sleep after all. No more
- 6:01nightmares.
- 6:03No. And you're kind of creepy.
- 6:06Did you watch me while I was sleeping or something?
- 6:08No, but, uh, I did grab you breakfast before it
- 6:11was all gone, since I knew someone decided to sleep
- 6:14in.
- 6:15Uh. Thanks, I guess.
- 6:18So my name
- 6:21is Mr. Okuron. Or at least that's what they
- 6:24call,
- 6:28um
- 6:30rope. Your name is
- 6:33Rope?
- 6:35No, it's door. It's a door.
- 6:38Door. All right. Is that
- 6:41your first or last?
- 6:45Last. It's last.
- 6:48Well, thank goodness. What's your first?
- 6:51Uh,
- 6:53what are normal first names?
- 6:56Normal first names? Uh, I don't know.
- 6:59Uh, tau? Pima? Uh,
- 7:02Akota? Yuka. Bill.
- 7:05Oh, Bill.
- 7:05Yeah, it's Bill. It's Bill.
- 7:07Your name is bill, uh,
- 7:10Dor.
- 7:11That's right.
- 7:13Well, nice to meet you, Bill. Door.
- 7:15What do you mean we're behind schedule?
- 7:18I have direct orders from the Fire Lord
- 7:21himself. If they are not followed to the
- 7:23letter, there will be hell to pay, and
- 7:27it will be paid with your head.
- 7:29Oh, crap.
- 7:31What's wrong, my boy?
- 7:32Nothing. I just, uh.
- 7:38Damned captain has no idea how to sail a
- 7:40ship. Unforeseen delays, my
- 7:43rear. Hey, boy,
- 7:46come here a moment.
- 7:50Yes, sir. What do you need?
- 7:53Take off your headband. I want a better
- 7:56look at you.
- 7:57I'd rather not, sir.
- 7:58I am a general in the Fire Lord's
- 8:01army. You will do as I say,
- 8:04and you will look me in the eye when I speak to
- 8:07you.
- 8:07Well, uh, you see, I got a really bad haircut,
- 8:10sir, and I'd rather not. No one see it, and I'm awfully
- 8:13embarrassed about it.
- 8:15Come here.
- 8:18Uh, there.
- 8:22Yes, you look very
- 8:25familiar. I'm sure I know you
- 8:28from somewhere.
- 8:30Uh, uh, you must be mistaken, sir. I
- 8:33don't know you.
- 8:33I've never seen you before, so how.
- 8:35Could you possibly recognize.
- 8:39Ah. Uh, general. Uh, you found my
- 8:42grandson. I've been looking all over the ship for him.
- 8:45There you are. Bill, come help me finish prepping
- 8:48the tea. Uh, just because we haven't opened our tea shop yet
- 8:51doesn't mean that we can't get some customers as we travel.
- 8:54This your, uh, my grandson?
- 8:56Yes.
- 8:56You two run some kind of tea shop, eh?
- 8:59Oh, that's. Oh, rather. We will be
- 9:02opening it soon. We're, uh, headed for Gao Ling
- 9:05now. Uh, I'm still thinking of a name, but I'm leaning
- 9:08towards the Blissful Brew. Ha.
- 9:10Uh, gao ling. That's an
- 9:13Earth Kingdom village? Yeah.
- 9:15Uh, yes, sir.
- 9:16I'll give you a piece of advice, old
- 9:19man. You'd be better off heading back to
- 9:22the Fire Nation and opening up a hot leaf
- 9:25juice franchise. Not much stake in
- 9:28starting a business in the Earth Kingdom, I'm afraid.
- 9:31Uh oh, well, uh, it's funny you should
- 9:34say that. I actually just quit working for hot leaf
- 9:37juice.
- 9:38That was a foolish decision, old
- 9:41man. Hot leaf juice is the best damn
- 9:44tea in all the land. But, hey,
- 9:47it's your life to throw away.
- 9:49Well, I'll keep that in mind. I appreciate
- 9:52the advice, General. Have a nice day.
- 9:55Hey, boy.
- 9:56Uh, yeah?
- 9:57What's the best tea you and your grandpa
- 10:00make?
- 10:01Uh, mint uh, mint
- 10:05mango. Yeah, mint
- 10:08mango? Yeah.
- 10:14Mint mango. I've never thought of that
- 10:17combination, but.
- 10:18Could be worth a try.
- 10:20We could make it the special back at the tea.
- 10:23Yeah, sure.
- 10:24Yeah.
- 10:26I just don't know what to do, Margaret.
- 10:29I don't understand how he can do this. It's your
- 10:32factory. You don't have to make them what they want.
- 10:35Uh, I know, but he's a
- 10:37general. In these days, that means a lot more
- 10:40than it used to.
- 10:42I just don't understand. There hasn't been a war
- 10:45with the Earth Kingdom in years. The Fire Lord hasn't
- 10:47even announced there has been any sort of incident.
- 10:50It's an unprovoked attack. For
- 10:53what reason, I can't imagine. But my factory and I
- 10:56will have no part of it.
- 10:57I'm proud of you love, um, standing up for your
- 10:59principles.
- 11:00Well, someone has to. I've made things for
- 11:03the Earth Kingdom. They've always been good customers
- 11:06and they're good people. I won't be a part of
- 11:09needless violence against them.
- 11:14They sent soldiers to my house.
- 11:16What could they want?
- 11:17I'm not sure, but it can't be
- 11:20good.
- 11:21You're going out there?
- 11:23I must.
- 11:26Uh.
- 11:26Jasper.
- 11:27Grab her, too.
- 11:28Uh.
- 11:28Stop. What is the meaning of this? Leave, uh,
- 11:32my family alone.
- 11:33I'm afraid we're far past that. You
- 11:36see, as I had mentioned earlier,
- 11:39I am on orders from the Fire Lord himself
- 11:42to procure weapons in order to successfully
- 11:45take over an Earth Kingdom settlement and
- 11:48turn it into a prison camp as part of a
- 11:51great conquest plan the Fire Lord has in place.
- 11:55Now, I'm not going to be the one to
- 11:58upset the Fire Lord when he finds out
- 12:01that one of the best engineers in the Fire
- 12:04Nation won't make him what he wants.
- 12:07So I give you the opportunity
- 12:10to make this easy on me and
- 12:13on yourself. Agree uh. To
- 12:16begin design and manufacturing of the
- 12:19weapons I want, or
- 12:22I will be forced to take drastic measures.
- 12:25I will not make your weapon so you could attack the
- 12:28innocent. I will not stand for
- 12:30unnecessary violence.
- 12:32Uh, that is quite
- 12:35unfortunate. Then I must
- 12:38do this the hard way.
- 12:41Leave her alone.
- 12:42Stop.
- 12:43Oh, but you're doing this to
- 12:46her, not me.
- 12:48Enough of this.
- 12:50This is between you and me, not her. You
- 12:53have a problem with me?
- 12:54Then we will deal with it.
- 12:55What? You want an agni
- 12:58kai ha?
- 12:59Uh.
- 13:00My sources tell me that you're not even a
- 13:02firebender. It would be a pointless
- 13:05endeavor. No. I
- 13:08like my way much better.
- 13:10So here's how this will work. I
- 13:13won't harm you or your family
- 13:16if you simply do as I ask and
- 13:19allow us to make use of your skills and
- 13:22factory to make what we want.
- 13:26Deal? That
- 13:28doesn't sound like a yes.
- 13:32Your wife is quite beautiful.
- 13:35It would be most unfortunate if her beauty
- 13:38was tainted by a burn scar.
- 13:40No. Stop.
- 13:44You're a monster.
- 13:45Like I said, you're the one doing this
- 13:48to her, not me. I've
- 13:51made a very generous offer.
- 13:54I'll even throw in a little extra.
- 14:00Agree to my terms, and I won't.
- 14:03Send another soldier into your house to.
- 14:05Rip your children from their pets and
- 14:08teach them not to play with fire.
- 14:11You've already lost one son to the plates, have you
- 14:14not? Shall we make it another?
- 14:17Fine. I'll design your damned war
- 14:19machines. Just leave my
- 14:22family alone.
- 14:24See, I knew he was a reasonable
- 14:27man.
- 14:29I expect to see the designs completed in two
- 14:32months and a first prototype in three
- 14:35months after that. I know your team works
- 14:38fast, and I expect that same speed as
- 14:41I will be heading out after I get this. The
- 14:44settlement we have in mind should be the perfect opportunity
- 14:47to see how capable your machine is.
- 14:49It's a fairly small village, after all.
- 14:52Even if your weapon is a flop, it won't take
- 14:55much for us to overcome the farmers that live there.
- 15:04You know, uh, I'm not trying to get all up in your
- 15:07business or anything, but, uh, I couldn't help but
- 15:10notice that, uh, the general sure seemed to
- 15:12recognize you.
- 15:14Well, whether he was about to or not doesn't matter.
- 15:17We tricked him. That may be true, but,
- 15:19uh, I fear that he still seemed a bit
- 15:22suspicious. He might not be as fooled as
- 15:25we hoped.
- 15:25Well, I'll figure that out if it comes to that.
- 15:28Well, if I might be so bold as to ask,
- 15:31why does he recognize you?
- 15:34Why are you so interested?
- 15:36Well, I figured that now that you're my
- 15:39grandson, it sure would be nice to have a bit of
- 15:42honesty between us all.
- 15:45Ah, right.
- 15:46Yeah. Fair.
- 15:48My real name isn't actually Bill.
- 15:51Oh. Well, I figured that much out already.
- 15:54What? How? Well, firstly, neither Bill nor
- 15:57dor names I've ever heard attached to anyone I've ever
- 16:00met in the Fire Nation, and I grew up there.
- 16:02Oh, you did?
- 16:04Mhm. And secondly, the combination
- 16:07is one of the worst fake name attempts I have ever heard
- 16:10of.
- 16:11Okay. That bad, huh?
- 16:13Well, the worst one was Pippin
- 16:16Padalopsacopoulos, but we, uh, can keep your Bill
- 16:18door disguise going.
- 16:20I greatly appreciate that.
- 16:22So, the general, uh, he's not looking for
- 16:25you, is he?
- 16:26No, he's not looking for me. It's just
- 16:29purely coincidence. He's about half the
- 16:32reason why I ran away.
- 16:33Ran away, you say? Uh, what's the other reason?
- 16:36I don't really want to talk about that.
- 16:39Of course. No pressure. Your life is your
- 16:42own. I'm simply an old man trying to help.
- 16:45I appreciate that. I've, uh, been meaning
- 16:47to ask you.
- 16:49Ask away.
- 16:50Well, given that the general is on this
- 16:52ship with us, and M, like you
- 16:55said, he seems to be suspicious of me. And
- 16:58it's not like I'm really doing anything anyways, just
- 17:01on this boat here.
- 17:02Uh, you want to work with me and maintain your cover so he doesn't
- 17:05catch on to your identity.
- 17:07Yeah, that's what I was meaning, if
- 17:10that's all right.
- 17:11Oh, Bill, my boy, I wouldn't have it any other
- 17:14way. Now, if you're going to be my
- 17:16grandson, I'm going to have to teach you how to make
- 17:19tea.
- 17:22I brought you your, uh, lunch again today, Father.
- 17:24Very good, son. Now run along
- 17:27home. The factory isn't safe for you
- 17:29anymore, not with all these soldiers around these
- 17:32days.
- 17:33Dad?
- 17:34Yes, son?
- 17:35You don't want to design these weapons, do
- 17:38you?
- 17:39No, son, I
- 17:42don't. They will only bring harm to those they're
- 17:45used against.
- 17:46Then why are you doing it?
- 17:48I thought you said always stick up.
- 17:50For what's right and never back down, no matter what.
- 17:52I know, son, but sometimes you're put
- 17:55into a position where there are two right decisions, but
- 17:58each have a bad outcome. And there's not much you can
- 18:01do but pick the one that has the closest impact to
- 18:04you. And in my case, I
- 18:07chose to protect my family because that's all
- 18:10I have control over.
- 18:12Are you saying that if it wasn't for me,
- 18:15mom, and my brother,
- 18:18you wouldn't be able to stop making these machines?
- 18:21It's not that simple, son. And don't blame
- 18:23yourself or anyone in our family.
- 18:27This is a choice I had to make for me.
- 18:29And General Long is the one choosing to bring harm to.
- 18:37Well, Mr.
- 18:39BERTNEY, I just got back from the
- 18:42testing range, and I have to say
- 18:45you are absolutely the designer they say
- 18:48you are. Those machines pack
- 18:50quite the punch.
- 18:53I'm glad you're satisfied with the product.
- 18:56Will you be on your way so that my factory can go back to
- 18:59the manufacturing we are quite behind on.
- 19:01Now, whereas I will be heading
- 19:04out for the Earth Kingdom.
- 19:06Unfortunately, your factory will need to
- 19:09continue manufacturing more of my weapons.
- 19:12What?
- 19:12That wasn't part of the deal.
- 19:14Well, that's just the thing. I
- 19:17had sent word to the Fire Lord that your machines were
- 19:20functioning up to, if not
- 19:23above expectations, and
- 19:26he insisted that he have more
- 19:28made for each battalion. Learn
- 19:31to take a compliment, my friend.
- 19:34This is my factory, and I will make no more of
- 19:37your machines.
- 19:38You could take the designs elsewhere and.
- 19:40Have another factory work on them for you, if you like them so
- 19:43much.
- 19:44That would slow production down by months.
- 19:47No. We will continue here until
- 19:50further notice. And you will continue
- 19:53making them that. Or must I
- 19:56pay your family another visit?
- 19:59Mhm.
- 20:02Fine.
- 20:03Good. I'll be heading out, but I'll
- 20:06be sure to check on the progress once I've conquered the Earth
- 20:09Kingdom village and finish building up the prison
- 20:12camp there. I'll be sure to have any
- 20:14passing generals stop in and experience the
- 20:17capabilities of your machines. In the meantime,
- 20:20I'm sure they'll be quite eager to include one
- 20:23of them under their own command.
- 20:31You need to go home, Bill. It's not
- 20:34safe.
- 20:35Yes. Yes, sir.
- 20:37Um,
- 20:41last, um, call for all passengers heading to the Earth
- 20:44Kingdom.
- 20:44Let's see. I've got the money, the new clothes,
- 20:47some food from the market. I don't think I forgot
- 20:50anything. It'll be a couple days before they realize I've left
- 20:53the island, and by then, it's too late.
- 20:56I'll, uh, be one less thing forcing dad to do the wrong
- 20:59thing.
- 21:00You got your ticket, boy?
- 21:02Uh, yes, sir. Um, right here.
- 21:04No adults with you lads? No.
- 21:06Um, I'm off to stay with my mother. Uh, she's
- 21:09an Earth Kingdom noble woman.
- 21:10Oh. And where's your father?
- 21:12Eh, well, after mother got caught,
- 21:15uh, him with a young nomad woman, she divorced
- 21:18him.
- 21:19That's plenty of details for me, thank you very much.
- 21:22I'm sorry I asked.
- 21:24The sleeping quarters are uh, in mid deck, and breakfast is at
- 21:2706:00 a.m. Sharp every morning. You're welcome on the
- 21:30main deck anytime, and especially so if you start to get
- 21:32seasick. Welcome aboard the Wavering.
- 21:35All are aboard. Crew, lift
- 21:38the anchors. We're off to the sandy shores of the
- 21:41earth kingdom.
- 21:44Bill, wake up. Something is happening on the deck.
- 21:47I think we're being boarded.
- 21:50Boarded? Um, what do you mean?
- 21:53Pirates.
- 21:56All right, everyone up. Hand over your
- 21:59valuables, please, sir. Uh, this is a passenger
- 22:02ship. We have nothing of value. You
- 22:04shut your mouth, old man. My sources
- 22:07have assured me there's something valuable on this ship that's
- 22:10being transported.
- 22:13The weapon. What was that, boy?
- 22:16Uh, nothing.
- 22:17He's hiding something. Men, get over
- 22:20here. Grab these crates here.
- 22:26Oh, wait. No, please. Those are my tea
- 22:28ingredients. Oh, yeah? Any of
- 22:31them rare? Incredibly so.
- 22:34Perfect. No,
- 22:37please stop. You could damage them. I
- 22:40need them for when I get to gaoling.
- 22:42What is the meaning of this? I
- 22:45don't take kindly to pirates, especially
- 22:48when they're on my ship.
- 22:50You're a ship? I thought this was a passenger
- 22:53ship.
- 22:53Let's just say the fire nation army is making use
- 22:56of it to remain incognito.
- 22:59Oh, we didn't sign up for soldiers.
- 23:01I figured as much.
- 23:04Don't move.
- 23:05Uh, Abbaso, what do
- 23:08you think you're doing?
- 23:10You wouldn't want me to hurt these innocent
- 23:13passengers, now, would you?
- 23:14I wouldn't lose any sleep. Over.
- 23:16Okay, okay, but, uh, what if this
- 23:19whole ship went down?
- 23:21What are you talking about?
- 23:23Uh, well, if this is simply just a
- 23:26passenger ship, then I doubt you have any sort of
- 23:28weapons on it. My ship, on the other hand, is
- 23:31well armed with cannons, ready to fire. Try
- 23:34anything, and I'll give the order to shoot.
- 23:37All right. So it seems we have a
- 23:40standoff. What do you want?
- 23:43Our sources told us that this ship is
- 23:45transporting something incredibly valuable.
- 23:48I see. And who is this source?
- 23:51Oh, I'm not telling you.
- 23:53Let's make a deal then. My
- 23:55soldiers and I will let you leave completely
- 23:58unharmed and with whatever supplies
- 24:01you can carry in one trip. In
- 24:03addition, I will give you this.
- 24:07All you have to do is tell me the name of your
- 24:09informant and where I can find them, and
- 24:12we'll just pretend like this whole ordeal
- 24:15was just a misunderstanding.
- 24:18All right? Deal. But we are taking the boy
- 24:21as well. If anyone tries anything in the meantime,
- 24:24I'll just feel a whole lot better having a
- 24:27hostage with me. Wait. No.
- 24:29Quiet, old man. Agreed.
- 24:32All right, you bunch of salty sea dogs, grab a
- 24:35creative loot and let's get out of here.
- 24:40His name is Chang Sanani. He's the
- 24:43owner of a traveling carnival. We came across them
- 24:45as we were leaving the Western air temple. He said
- 24:48they had just come from the fire nation and saw a production
- 24:51factory producing some kind of special
- 24:54new machines. And that one of the prototypes
- 24:57was being loaded onto the ship.
- 24:59I see. And did he say where he was taking his
- 25:02carnival next?
- 25:06I believe he said they were sailing for Senlin
- 25:09village now.
- 25:10Sen lin village, you say? Uh, how
- 25:13perfect. Uh, this gold has been well
- 25:16earned, my friend. May the ocean
- 25:19waves be in your favor as you travel from
- 25:22here.
- 25:22Yeah, sure. Whatever. Have a nice day. All
- 25:25right, men, let's go back on the
- 25:28ship. Please, sir, uh, you
- 25:30must take me with you. What kind of operation
- 25:33do you think, Abraham? No, I'm no passenger
- 25:36ship. But, sir, the boy,
- 25:39he is my grandson. Then I'll be sure
- 25:42to train him up into a fine member of Mikru.
- 25:45Well, then, let me join your crew as well,
- 25:48sir. What? We don't
- 25:51have much need for fat old men on my
- 25:53sheep. I'm a master of tea
- 25:56making. A,
- 25:59um, master, you say? Well, there's no
- 26:01prize awarded for humility, I suppose.
- 26:04I tell you what. I've been having some
- 26:07pretty nasty nightmares lately that have been
- 26:10keeping me, uh, up. You come along and make me a
- 26:13pot of your best nightmare deterrentee. And
- 26:16if I get a full night's sleep tonight, you could stick
- 26:19around. If not, well, then
- 26:22I throw you overboard. That
- 26:25sounds like a fair deal to me.
- 26:27And with that, you find yourself being called aboard
- 26:30the pirate ship as the crew tosses their loot
- 26:33onto the deck, releases the ropes from the passenger ship
- 26:36you were just on, and sails into the night.
- 26:39So, Bill Cameron, as
- 26:41bill, you find yourself, uh,
- 26:44on board a pirate ship. You and Mr. Okaron
- 26:47both, they've just stolen a bunch of his rare, uh,
- 26:50tea ingredients, crates of them. So, uh, those are on
- 26:53there with you. They're currently, uh, putting those off to the
- 26:56side, kind of where they keep a, uh, handful of other
- 26:59boxes of who knows what kind of stuff they've looted
- 27:02or supplies or whatever the case. Um, you and
- 27:05Mr. Okaron are standing there on the front deck. Uh,
- 27:08the pirates are all fairly well
- 27:10armed with swords and,
- 27:13um, other potential weapons.
- 27:16Uh, definitely not a situation where you feel
- 27:19like if you tried something, it'd be tough to get away with it.
- 27:22Potentially. So what would you like to do?
- 27:26Um, are they directing us anywhere?
- 27:29Um, as it currently stands, you have one big
- 27:32guy just kind of standing there next to you. Uh, they don't have
- 27:35you tied up, though. Uh, again, they have their
- 27:38weapons out. They assume that you're smart enough to know don't try to
- 27:41run.
- 27:43Yeah, I guess I would just follow
- 27:46them and see where they lead me. I figure they're probably going to
- 27:49take me to wherever
- 27:52they keep hostages. I don't know.
- 27:54Sure. Um, yeah. So after
- 27:57a couple of minutes of standing there waiting, as kind of the crew
- 28:00gets everything together, the, uh, captain actually runs
- 28:03over. When you first got on the captain ran over to
- 28:06the kind of main, uh,
- 28:08steering of the ship and was basically
- 28:11just he looked a little nervous in the sense that, uh,
- 28:14he wanted to make sure that you guys
- 28:17were well away before he decided to
- 28:20come and deal with you guys. Essentially, he didn't want to be
- 28:23able to see the ship that you were just on because he was know, what if Wang
- 28:26long tried something or whatever the case? So,
- 28:29as you guys are waiting, you eventually get out of sight of that
- 28:31ship, and, um,
- 28:34he comes and he approaches you, and he, well,
- 28:37well, two new members of the
- 28:40crew. Well, what should I do
- 28:42with you, eh? And Mr. Okaron says,
- 28:45uh well, uh, I could, uh,
- 28:48start getting that tea ready for you if you show me
- 28:51to the kitchen or whatever it is that you usually
- 28:54prep any meals in. He says, Ah, yes. You can head
- 28:57down to the next deck, and you'll meet Cookie.
- 29:00He's the one. He's our chef down there, and
- 29:02he can get you all set up for whatever you need. I expect that
- 29:05tea in my hands in let's
- 29:08see, the next 20 minutes or
- 29:10so you should have a pot of boiling water
- 29:13ready for you. So that's one step you don't need to deal
- 29:16with. Mr. Okaron
- 29:19turns to you, and he says, well, Bill, I suppose we better do
- 29:22what he says.
- 29:23I guess so. Do I have to go
- 29:26there?
- 29:27Oh, if you want to go to your room I can show you to your
- 29:30room instead.
- 29:30Will I get a room?
- 29:32Yes. The two of you will be bunking together.
- 29:35Cool.
- 29:36Uh, well, as
- 29:39long as he can follow through with his promise. Otherwise, it
- 29:42might be a room just.
- 29:43For you, milad, because you're gonna
- 29:46wait. What?
- 29:47Well, if Mr. What did you say your name?
- 29:50Uh, Okran. Well, if Mr.
- 29:52Okaron here can't help hold his promise
- 29:55and help me get a good night's sleep, well,
- 29:58I'll be sending him to be feasted on by the bull
- 30:01sharks. Oh.
- 30:05Well, um then, uh, Bill turns, look at
- 30:08Mr. O'Hara and says, well, you better, uh, make a
- 30:11mean pee or else, uh, you'll be in big
- 30:13trouble.
- 30:14Uh, I've helped people before with
- 30:17calming, soothing teas to help with a good night's sleep.
- 30:20I'm not worried about my skills. Uh, if
- 30:23you just need to rest, that's fine with me, Bill.
- 30:26So, wait. There's teas that help
- 30:29with sleeping?
- 30:30Sure. There's teas that help with a lot of things.
- 30:34Huh.
- 30:35I may have to try one of those someday.
- 30:37Oh, sure. Are you having trouble sleeping, Bill?
- 30:40Well, sure, but I don't think now's the time to talk about
- 30:42that.
- 30:44I tell you what I mean. I usually make things in bulk.
- 30:47So I could bring you a cup of tea if that's
- 30:50all right with you, Captain. Sure. It makes me
- 30:53feel a little better that you wouldn't try poisoning
- 30:56the boy with the same tea you try poisoning me with.
- 30:59I mean, I'm his grandson, after all. You won't just try it. You'll
- 31:02give me the good stuff.
- 31:03Oh, I would hope so. I'd, uh, be a little
- 31:06bit concerned of your family dynamics if, uh, he tried
- 31:09to poison you.
- 31:12All right. Follow me, boy. And, uh, you
- 31:15Mr. Okaran. Like I said, next deck
- 31:18below, you'll find Cookie, you'll find the kitchen.
- 31:20Get to work.
- 31:21Well, I'm no help in the kitchen, though.
- 31:25No, I just mean okrat.
- 31:27Oh, okay.
- 31:28You can come with me, and I'll show you to your room. Oh, okay. Sick.
- 31:31Yeah, that works.
- 31:32Uh, so he takes you and, uh, so
- 31:35basically, on the sort of second
- 31:37or yeah, second deck, front end of the ship.
- 31:40I don't know the terms of the four sections.
- 31:43There's a poop deck, and there's the.
- 31:45Spear and the starboard. Yeah, all that
- 31:48stuff. I don't know ship terminology. Maybe I should have studied up
- 31:51on it beforehand, but whatever the case, in the front
- 31:53most portion of the ship, that's where, uh, the crew
- 31:56sleeps. Um, it's also where you have the sort
- 31:59of port colors that open up for the cannons and things like that.
- 32:02I think that's the correct term. Um, so,
- 32:05basically their thinking is if things were to happen and
- 32:08they needed people to be on the cannons, like, ASAP,
- 32:11they'd be right there, and it would wake everybody up, too.
- 32:14That would that's right. Uh, in the back section, on the other
- 32:17hand, that's where they've got, like, the kitchen and everything else. So Mr.
- 32:19Okaron follows you guys down the steps into
- 32:22the second, uh, deck, or whatever. He goes one way,
- 32:25you guys go the other way. Uh, the captain, he leads you over.
- 32:28He opens up a door, um, into
- 32:31a room. It's a pretty crammed
- 32:34room, and you kind of assumed as much you've been in, obviously,
- 32:37you were just in the other ship, and it was pretty crammed space.
- 32:40Um, just more because of the amount of people that were there. This
- 32:43one's more crammed because the space is limited. But
- 32:46basically, it's like two to a room. It's like a dormitory, maybe
- 32:49a little bit smaller than that than a college dormitory.
- 32:52Um, it's quaint. So he
- 32:55says, all right, there you go. There's your
- 32:58room. Have yourself a good night's sleep. But I
- 33:01expect you up in Atom in the morning at
- 33:04the break of dawn, helping out with the ship.
- 33:07Oh, yeah, sure.
- 33:09All right. Do you have any prior experience with
- 33:12boats, my boy?
- 33:13Yeah, I used to
- 33:16work on a boat back, uh, in the day.
- 33:19Uh, well, not really. It was a family boat.
- 33:22Uh, all they
- 33:25had me do was mop.
- 33:27Well, perfect. Then I guess I know exactly what to
- 33:30have you do here. Perfect.
- 33:32I'm good at that.
- 33:33There you go. I like the spirit, but I
- 33:36better see you in the morning or
- 33:39I'll be pretty dang. Upset I have to come wake you up
- 33:42myself?
- 33:42Oh, no. I usually wake up pretty early. I thought you
- 33:45mean I was going to jump off. And I'm like, I'm not that good at
- 33:48swimming.
- 33:48Oh, no, I'm not too worried. It's going to be
- 33:51quite some time before we even reach land.
- 33:53Where are we going, anyway?
- 33:55A small island right off the coast of the Earth
- 33:58Kingdom. It's, uh well,
- 34:01I don't want to spoil the surprise, but it's a little
- 34:04hideout us pirates use. Also. It's close
- 34:06by the not too far from the port where we usually
- 34:09do a lot of the trade. And from what we steal and loot.
- 34:12Oh, you like stealing and looting, don't you, boy? Well,
- 34:15as much as any pirate, that's what
- 34:18I like to hear.
- 34:19Uh, yeah.
- 34:20All right. You get some sleep, lad. You've had a long
- 34:23day getting kidnapped and
- 34:25all, he says as he closes the door behind
- 34:28him. And there you go. Uh, you're at
- 34:31your room on your own,
- 34:33chilling.
- 34:35And just like that, I have another, uh, one of
- 34:38my, uh, characters. I've played RPGs as
- 34:41that is a pirate.
- 34:42Yeah, just like that, you've got another pirate now, another
- 34:45pirate character. You've solidified the pirate
- 34:47title.
- 34:50Um, yeah, I guess I would just is it late at
- 34:53night?
- 34:53Yeah, I'd say it's. I mean, you were sleeping when you guys
- 34:56got boarded. So, I mean, yeah, it's probably pretty
- 34:59if not early in the morning.
- 35:01Honestly, I would lay down.
- 35:04I was just in the middle of sleeping. This probably whole situation
- 35:07has probably been like 30 minutes. So I'm probably
- 35:09still tired.
- 35:10Oh, yeah.
- 35:11So I'll just go to bed.
- 35:12Okay. All right. Um, as you
- 35:15fall asleep and maybe 30 minutes or so
- 35:18in, uh, you hear the door to your room open. I don't know if it
- 35:21necessarily would awaken you or not. I don't know how
- 35:24deep or light of a sleeper that Bill is
- 35:27about.
- 35:28Middle if it's quiet, he won't hear it.
- 35:30I would say, uh, it's just enough noise to kind of
- 35:33like pull you out of whatever cycle of your
- 35:36REM that you're still
- 35:39know you got your eyes closed. And it would take you a half a second
- 35:42to just drop back into sleep. But basically, you just hear Mr. M.
- 35:44Okaron, come in. Um, you hear him set
- 35:47something down on the there's like a
- 35:50dresser next to your bed. You hear him set it down
- 35:53there. It clinks, so you assume it might be like a cup of
- 35:56tea and like a little saucer or something. Um, and then you
- 35:59just hear him, ah uh, kind of
- 36:02some rough rustling of cloth as he changes into
- 36:04something else. Or just gets into bed and gets under
- 36:07the covers. And he too, goes to sleep
- 36:11on his own bed, on
- 36:14his own cot.
- 36:15Or whatever they have
- 36:17anyway.
- 36:18Uh, yeah. And then otherwise, uh, you wake up the next
- 36:20morning and, uh, mr.
- 36:23Ogaran is still snoozing, but it's pretty early,
- 36:26or at least you assume I can't really see because you're inside
- 36:29of the ship. Uh, well, I would almost argue you
- 36:32open up the door and they keep the port colors
- 36:35open because the waves weren't super heavy.
- 36:38So obviously water wouldn't have been splashing around inside of through
- 36:41the windows. And yeah, there's uh, just
- 36:44like a very orange light kind of starting to
- 36:47come in. So you know that it's about dawn and,
- 36:50uh, you look back, you see that yes, indeed, he did bring you
- 36:53a cup of tea, uh, last night. But by this point
- 36:56it's probably reached lukewarm
- 36:58temperatures. Um, but otherwise,
- 37:01yeah, uh, it's dawn.
- 37:03All right.
- 37:04Ah.
- 37:05Bill swings his feet around and off the bed
- 37:08and he's just sitting there waking up.
- 37:12He starts just kind of talking himself under his
- 37:14breath. M. So looks like they
- 37:17didn't kick the old man off anyway out of it.
- 37:21The tea must have been good enough
- 37:24to, well, not have him sleeping with the
- 37:27fishes. And Bill leans
- 37:29over at the cup and he like, sniffs it. What's
- 37:32it smell like?
- 37:33Um, trying to
- 37:35mean, do you think Bill has ever
- 37:38smelled like at least lavender before?
- 37:41Yeah.
- 37:41Okay, so it definitely has like a nice lavender scent to it with
- 37:44something else that you're not entirely sure. Um, just
- 37:47because it's something that's probably very tea
- 37:50oriented and since you're not somebody that likes tea, it wouldn't have
- 37:53necessarily caught his nose.
- 37:54It just catches lavender.
- 37:56Sure. Definitely lavender.
- 37:58He, uh, picks up the cup and he just takes
- 38:01a sip.
- 38:02Okay. Like, um, I said, it's reached lukewarm,
- 38:04so it's not hot or cold tea, which
- 38:07is normally the two types of tea that a person would drink.
- 38:11But, um, it's pleasant. It's
- 38:13pleasant. It's very peaceful feeling. I'm not
- 38:16going to say that you get overwashed with a sense
- 38:19of just peace and
- 38:21soothingness or whatever, but it's a little bit
- 38:24relaxing.
- 38:25But does it taste like tea?
- 38:27Yeah.
- 38:30And as you do, uh, uh,
- 38:33you know, kind of jolts awake and he says, I
- 38:36hear someone spitting out tea.
- 38:39Uh oh. Bill, you're awake?
- 38:41Yeah.
- 38:42This tea really woke me, uh, up.
- 38:45I tell you what, I had not got enough
- 38:48sleep. My 8 hours is really thrown
- 38:50off. Do, uh, you know what time it is?
- 38:55Best guess around seven.
- 38:57Seven.
- 38:58I usually always just wake up around then.
- 39:00Oh, okay. So probably about dawn.
- 39:03I suppose it's about time wake up.
- 39:05When the sun comes up.
- 39:06Yes. Uh, well, I suppose we
- 39:09might as well get at it. Were you
- 39:12tasting the tea? Yeah. Well, what did you
- 39:14think?
- 39:15Tastes like tea.
- 39:17Okay. Wasn't fond of that's a very broad
- 39:20statement, Bill.
- 39:20I just don't like the flavor of.
- 39:24It.
- 39:24Did feel it did feel a little, I don't
- 39:27know, soothing. So maybe if
- 39:30I'm having a bad dream or something, I could drink that.
- 39:33I'd probably choke it down. But, I mean, if it
- 39:36helps give you peace, then it'd be
- 39:39like taking medicine. Sometimes they
- 39:42taste a little bad, but it helps. Okay,
- 39:45I don't know if you have medicine.
- 39:47No, absolutely, yes. Uh, I've used it
- 39:50myself.
- 39:50Honestly, when I ever got sick, my mom would bring me this
- 39:53weird soup thing, and it was, like, bubbling, and it
- 39:56tasted funky. And I
- 39:59would drink it.
- 40:00Tasted awful.
- 40:01I'd have to hold my nose and everything, but
- 40:05believe it or not, next day I felt right as
- 40:07rain. Brand new. Bill
- 40:10it's amazing the things that, uh.
- 40:12A good hot liquid can do, or.
- 40:15Soup or whatever the case, whatever magical
- 40:17soup, or in this case, your magical
- 40:20tea that keeps you on this ship due to a man.
- 40:23Well, I would say there's no magic in it, Bill. But,
- 40:26you know, tea is a mysterious
- 40:29thing, and I've spent my whole life learning it. And
- 40:32I have to say, there might just
- 40:34be some sort of a magic to tea. I truly
- 40:37think so.
- 40:38Is it because your secret ingredients love?
- 40:40It very well might be, Bill.
- 40:43Okay, I'm going to tell everyone. And ruin your
- 40:46secret?
- 40:47No, that's all right.
- 40:50Well, uh, like I said, I suppose we better get
- 40:53moving before the captain wakes up and gets mad at us. Uh,
- 40:56I don't know what they've got planned for us.
- 40:58I'm going to be swabbing the deck.
- 41:01Okay.
- 41:03I don't know what they're going to do. Probably have you make
- 41:05tea all day.
- 41:07That sounds fine to me.
- 41:10Uh, Bill, uh, I hope you feel
- 41:13the same way that I do, and that, um, we probably
- 41:16can't stick around on this
- 41:18crew if, uh, the opportunity
- 41:21arises.
- 41:23I think I have a plan. Okay, so, while we
- 41:26were talking, you were gone. I talked to the
- 41:28captain by ourselves, right? And he
- 41:31started talking. I asked him where we were going, and he said we're going
- 41:34to, like, a pirate hideout right out it's, like,
- 41:37on an island right outside
- 41:40the Earth Kingdom.
- 41:42Oh, okay.
- 41:43And so I was thinking, well, since we're going to both get to the Earth Kingdom,
- 41:46you could just stay with these pirates till they get to the hideout, and
- 41:48then, I don't know, maybe make a
- 41:51break for it, then find out if we're at the pirate hideout.
- 41:54There's probably going to be smaller boats or something, and we
- 41:57just get our way to the mainland.
- 42:00He said it was close enough that they could go to a close
- 42:02dock, do trading on the mainland.
- 42:05So that's my plan.
- 42:07Okay. Yeah, no, that sounds good.
- 42:09Until then, we just bite our time, I guess.
- 42:12Make friends with the pirates. Make them think we're
- 42:15not trying to run, so that if we do run, they won't expect
- 42:18it as much.
- 42:18Sure. Yeah, that sounds like a good plan to me. All
- 42:21right, well, let's get to it then. Yeah. All
- 42:24right. Uh, you just find me probably in the
- 42:27kitchen and if you need anything.
- 42:28No, yeah, I'll probably be in the know getting my food.
- 42:31All right, sounds good. And, uh, with that, you guys both
- 42:34kind of split up and, uh, Mr. Okaron heads
- 42:37back over to the kitchen, assuming that's where they want him. And then you head up to
- 42:40the top of the deck to wait further orders. Um, so
- 42:43as you arrive up there, uh, you see the rest of the crew
- 42:46all seems to be kind of gathered around and they're all whispering amongst
- 42:49themselves. Seems like something might be off.
- 42:51And, uh, as you approach them, you start to
- 42:54hear some, uh, of what they're whispering about. And they're like, I don't know where
- 42:57he is. Uh, he's
- 42:59always out here, he's never late. Uh,
- 43:02he's very punctual. And so I don't know what it is that,
- 43:05uh, why he wouldn't be here.
- 43:08I'm laughing because a pirate just used the word
- 43:11punctual.
- 43:13He's very punctual.
- 43:14I was like, what kind of pirates am I surrounded by?
- 43:17Well, uh, uh, what's that
- 43:20pirate game we've played like a few times with, uh,
- 43:23forgotten water for on water? Yeah. There's all
- 43:25types of pirates. True.
- 43:27There's the spoken pirate.
- 43:29Yeah. The one that's like, well, I'm a college educated,
- 43:32but you know what? This is the job I found.
- 43:34Um, I'd rather be a pirate.
- 43:36Sure. Exactly.
- 43:37So that pirate's on this yeah.
- 43:39He's like well, he's always quite punctual. I don't know why he
- 43:42wouldn't the.
- 43:43Other pirate looks at him, goes, punctual. What does that mean?
- 43:45Why he hasn't been stabbed before? Well, I mean, he
- 43:48has, but not lately.
- 43:51He said what? No, not
- 43:53punctured. Punctual,
- 43:56you dang college grad, you.
- 43:59I can never understand what you're saying.
- 44:01Anyway, that's what you hear, Bill. Just kind of
- 44:04if there's like a group of them, he's going to try to
- 44:07slide into the back of them and just kind of like,
- 44:10listen in to what they're saying. Try to figure out who they're talking
- 44:13about.
- 44:13Okay.
- 44:14He doesn't see the captain, right?
- 44:15Correct.
- 44:16So he might be assuming that's who they're talking, right?
- 44:19Right. Yep. And uh, after a couple of more
- 44:21whispers between them, you do catch somebody say like, well, I
- 44:24don't know what to do. If the captain's not here, where are we supposed
- 44:27I mean, I know where we're going, so I guess we'll
- 44:30just keep I don't know. Uh,
- 44:33the first mate seems to be kind of like leading this charge. So he's the one
- 44:36talking. He's like, I don't know. I don't know where the captain
- 44:39is. I'm not going to go barging into his
- 44:42room and wake him up if he's sleeping.
- 44:45And someone's like, well, what if he's dead? And they're like,
- 44:48wait a minute, the tea
- 44:52m. There must have been something sketchy about that
- 44:54tea. Uh, okay, uh, I'll
- 44:57go check on the captain and uh,
- 45:00the rest of y'all head down to the kitchen and grab that tea
- 45:03maker because obviously he's up to something. And they're
- 45:06yeah, yeah. And they start getting, like, kind of up in arms. They're all getting their swords
- 45:09up. Let's get the tea maker. He poisoned the
- 45:11captain.
- 45:12Bill's going to be like, there was.
- 45:14Nothing wrong with that tea. But all
- 45:17of them all kind of turn to look at you and they're all kind of glaring at you
- 45:20and they're like, it's the new boy. And
- 45:23the first mate guy, he says, well, what do you know about the
- 45:26tea?
- 45:27Well, a couple of things. First off, um, I know the old
- 45:30guy. He's my grandpa, so I know he wouldn't
- 45:33poison anyone. And second, he gave me the
- 45:35same tea. Um, so
- 45:39the tea is fine, honestly.
- 45:40If I was to take a best.
- 45:42Good guess, the tea is to help with
- 45:44sleep. Maybe he's just having a really
- 45:47good sleep.
- 45:48Uh, the well spoken pirate off in the
- 45:51corner, he says, well, I believe, m, that he might just
- 45:54be in cahoots with the old man.
- 45:56Yeah, he's my grandpa. Not really cahoots, though. I mean, go
- 45:59check on him.
- 46:00He's probably asleep. And the first mate's
- 46:02like, all right,
- 46:05that sounds fair. All right, everybody wait right
- 46:08here. And they all watch as he because obviously the
- 46:11captain's got his room right up by, uh, the
- 46:13top of the deck, kind of by the steering
- 46:16wheel. I feel bad. Someone's going to be like, you
- 46:19idiot. That's not what it's called.
- 46:20I think it's just called a wheel.
- 46:21A wheel?
- 46:22Yeah.
- 46:22So, uh, he knocks on the door and there's no
- 46:25answer. And he tries the door and
- 46:28it's locked. And he jiggles it a little bit and he goes,
- 46:32okay, one, two, three.
- 46:35And he just slams himself up against the door, knocks it
- 46:38wide open, and he
- 46:41stands there for a second. He's like, Captain, captain,
- 46:44are you all right? And all of a sudden, the captain
- 46:47comes walking out, pushes past him. He says, Why'd you break open
- 46:49midor? I was having the nicest rest
- 46:52I've had in quite a long time. And you come
- 46:55breaking in my door. You burst
- 46:58in here, making all kinds of noise, waking me up.
- 47:02What are y'all doing standing around? Get to your jobs.
- 47:05You know where we're going. You know what you do. And
- 47:08everybody's just kind of like, awkwardly with their
- 47:11mumbling and stuff. They just start to disperse and head off to their
- 47:14jobs. And the cats who comes down, he's like,
- 47:17well, I definitely won't be throwing that tea maker
- 47:19overboard. I tell you what, he's a stand up
- 47:22guy. Made the best tea I've ever had.
- 47:25You that boy.
- 47:27Uh, sir, yes.
- 47:29Uh, well, uh, where's your grandpa?
- 47:32He's down in the kitchen.
- 47:33Uh, well, I'll have to go down there and thank him. Uh, what are
- 47:36you up to?
- 47:36I mean, he'll probably make you a morning brew, too.
- 47:39Uh, yeah, that sounds good. I wonder if he does
- 47:41coffee.
- 47:42He does everything. I bet he'll make a great one that wake you up, give
- 47:45you spirits for the day.
- 47:47Yeah, that sounds good to me. What are you doing, boy?
- 47:49Uh, have they given you your mopping bucket yet?
- 47:52No, I was waiting for anything.
- 47:55You there, calconi, give him his mop and
- 47:57bucket. We could
- 48:00do the well spoken yes, Captain.
- 48:03I'll get him his mop and bucket right away. Follow
- 48:06me, child. And the
- 48:09captain kind of goes walking off down towards the stairs to go,
- 48:12you assume, to talk to Mr. O'gran. This, uh, new guy,
- 48:14Calcone. He, uh, approaches you.
- 48:17He's a built man, but, uh, he's kind of dorito
- 48:20shaped where you can tell he kind of skipped a lot.
- 48:22Of leg day, but he doesn't he.
- 48:24Skipped all the leg. He's got scrawny little legs, but he's got, like, big
- 48:27built arms. Uh, if he was any more
- 48:30muscular, he probably wouldn't even stand on his legs. He'd just, like,
- 48:33walk around on his giant arms, do a mug shot. Uh,
- 48:36and he's bald. He kind of looks like one of those early
- 48:39English boxers.
- 48:40Giant mustache.
- 48:41He has a huge handlebar mustache. He
- 48:44looks just like in the posters, those guys that do the box
- 48:47fisticuffs. And he says, well, boy,
- 48:50since you joined our crew, uh, uh,
- 48:53he said mopping bucket. Yeah. Follow me. And
- 48:56he starts walking away with his big arms, and you
- 48:59find this little closet. And, uh, he opens the
- 49:02door, and he just kind of shows you in. And he's like,
- 49:04well, uh, I can't get it because, uh,
- 49:07my big shoulders. But if you want to go in
- 49:10there and get your mopping bucket, couldn't.
- 49:12You just turn sideways?
- 49:14I could try.
- 49:15And he turns sideways.
- 49:19And you hear, like, the sound of the frames around the
- 49:22door is, like, creaking as he's trying to fit himself in
- 49:25there. And he's like, I got it.
- 49:27Um, you ever
- 49:30put your hand in the cookie jar and you grab the cookie
- 49:33and you can't get your hand out? I feel like that's where we're at right
- 49:36now.
- 49:36You can get back. I'll get them.
- 49:38All right. I feel like I keep accidentally
- 49:41doing an accent.
- 49:42Uh, this guy, he's a half pirate.
- 49:44Half strike, and it just slits into exactly.
- 49:49So, uh, he lets go of the mop, and he pulls his
- 49:52entire self out of this closet. And,
- 49:54uh, kind of looks a little embarrassed, I guess,
- 49:57as you'll just kind.
- 49:58Of slides by him and grabs the bucket and
- 50:01mop.
- 50:02He says, uh, well, it usually takes about a day
- 50:04to start, uh, at one end of the deck and end up
- 50:07at the other end of the deck. And, uh, mop your
- 50:10way from there to there. Uh oh, breakfast.
- 50:13Yes. Uh, that'll probably be ready here in about
- 50:17ten minutes.
- 50:18Okay. I just figured I'd follow the crew.
- 50:21Okay. Yes.
- 50:22Uh, well, what do I use
- 50:24for the water?
- 50:26Oh, yeah. See, all you do is you take a rope and you tie
- 50:29it around the bucket, throw it overboard.
- 50:32Uh, don't lose the bucket. We lose a lot of buckets, uh, throughout an
- 50:35entire journey.
- 50:36Got it.
- 50:36And, uh, for different reasons. And, uh, mopping the floor
- 50:39should not be one of them.
- 50:40Okay.
- 50:40And then you just pull it back up and you dump the water on the ground.
- 50:43You just start swabbing.
- 50:45So I just use seawater?
- 50:48Yeah.
- 50:48Okay. I can do that.
- 50:50All right. I mean, it's clean enough. The salt
- 50:53really, uh, helps to disinfect things.
- 50:55You're the professional here.
- 50:57There you go. Uh, if you do need soap, uh,
- 51:00which you usually don't, we've got some in the
- 51:03closet there. Uh, it doesn't take a
- 51:06lot. Basically just kind of wash your hands in the same water and
- 51:09then it'll kind of set it up and then you just go from
- 51:11there. Okay, I can do that. All right.
- 51:14Good to hear, boy. Uh, if you need me, I'll be
- 51:17around.
- 51:18Oh, and the name is Bill.
- 51:20Oh, Bill. Oh, yeah. Nice to meet you. Uh, like the
- 51:23Captain said, my name's, uh, Karconi.
- 51:26Nice to meet you.
- 51:27Nice to meet you, too. Glad, uh, to have you on board.
- 51:31We're pretty rough, but, uh, I think all things consider, we're a pretty good
- 51:34gang of pirates.
- 51:35I'm going to be the best pirate.
- 51:37Oh, lad. Little
- 51:40cheeky, cheeky lad. You. Yeah.
- 51:43All right, well, I'll see you later. I got my own work to do. And Bill,
- 51:46don't lose that bucket.
- 51:47Bill grabs the bucket them up, and then also some rope
- 51:50that's in there and heads up to the front
- 51:53of.
- 51:53The boat, I guess. All right.
- 51:55And just gets to swabbing.
- 51:56All right. Ten, uh, minutes later, breakfast gets brought
- 51:59up. Mr. Ochron is with the, uh, cookie.
- 52:02Yeah, Cookie, who you meet who's a big burly
- 52:04guy. Real, ah, rough and rowdy looking. Looks like he
- 52:08probably hasn't bathed in quite some time. Kind of smells like he hasn't
- 52:10bathed in quite some time. Um, big old
- 52:13loppy chef's hat on his head. Big old gross
- 52:16looking apron. Like, he wipes his like the apron.
- 52:18Has more food on it. Absolutely.
- 52:22And, uh, they just kind of serve things up. And I don't
- 52:24know if there's anything you needed to do during that.
- 52:26Otherwise, just grab a quick bite of these.
- 52:29Okay.
- 52:29If there was tea, he would not drink it.
- 52:31That's fair. If there's water, he would drink there's water. And then
- 52:34there's obviously some form of the alcohol
- 52:36ale or grog or something.
- 52:38Along those lines, he would just grab the water.
- 52:40You can tell that, um, just something that
- 52:43you point out. Uh, a lot of people grab the
- 52:46grog. And then, uh, mr.
- 52:48Okaron kind of like you see him, he gets kind of pushy with the tea.
- 52:51He's like, just go ahead, take know, try it,
- 52:54whatever. And you actually notice that a lot of people,
- 52:57after they try the tea. They're like, oh. And they'll
- 53:00put their grog down and then go back for either a larger
- 53:03cup or like a second serving of the tea or whatever
- 53:06the case. So it's definitely a pretty popular choice. Okay,
- 53:09so, um, otherwise you get back to work.
- 53:11I have a feeling that in this whole
- 53:13campaign, this whole Sea series, that, uh,
- 53:16Bill might be the only person who will not like Mr.
- 53:19Okran's tea.
- 53:20It's very possible. It's very possible.
- 53:23I mean, at least everybody drinks tea. So it's like Mr.
- 53:26Okron can take their favorite tea and make it in such a way
- 53:29that's, like, it's just.
- 53:30Funny that every single character we've met has
- 53:33enjoyed the tea. And then there's just Bill, one
- 53:36of the people who works there. He's just like, I'll like it.
- 53:39Yeah, well, hey, that's, you know, the
- 53:42fun character. Troy is an interesting
- 53:45character. Exactly.
- 53:46He's the only person in this whole universe that doesn't.
- 53:52I'll take a water. Let me
- 53:54dip any leaves in that water. No, just water. Just water.
- 53:57Fresh water?
- 53:59M, that's right. So, uh,
- 54:01over the course of the day, you see
- 54:04mostly just water as you're mopping. But as it
- 54:07gets later into the afternoon, you start to see land
- 54:10and someone shouts out, island
- 54:12home. And, uh, by the
- 54:15end of the night, once you pretty much finish
- 54:18swabbing the entire deck, uh, you guys eventually make
- 54:21landfall at this island that they've, uh,
- 54:24kind of called their base. And
- 54:27just off into the distance you can just see the
- 54:30sight of land poking up over the
- 54:33waters. Uh, what you assume is the
- 54:35Earth kingdom. Kind of where that all begins. Everybody kind
- 54:38of starts, uh, working to get off the ship. They're
- 54:41mostly hauling stuff. The, uh, captain comes up to you and he says,
- 54:44good job, boy. I see that you made it all the way across the deck.
- 54:47Very impressive. Uh, you can stash that
- 54:50back over into, uh, the closet
- 54:53where you got it and then, uh, just grab a crate and start
- 54:56bringing it onto the island. We're going to unload all this
- 54:59loot and then we'll restock
- 55:02whatever we need to as necessary.
- 55:04Okay.
- 55:05So are we at the island then? Yes, we're
- 55:08now not parked, but like anchors Away
- 55:11the dock.
- 55:11At the, uh, island, there's a little dock that
- 55:14it's kind of janky built. You could tell the pirates themselves
- 55:17probably put it in, uh, for their ship, but yeah.
- 55:20Okay.
- 55:21So Bill is going to, uh, when
- 55:23the captain walks away, right?
- 55:25Mhm.
- 55:26He wants to look over the side of the
- 55:29boat. Is there land there?
- 55:32Like directly over the side of the boat? Yeah. Uh,
- 55:36so there's that skinny dock that I was talking about and then that
- 55:39connects to the yeah.
- 55:40So there is no land there, right?
- 55:42Not directly next to the boat, no.
- 55:44Okay. When Bill was in
- 55:47the closet getting the mop and stuff, was
- 55:49there multiple mops or just this one?
- 55:52Uh, yeah, I'd say there'd maybe be maybe two
- 55:55or three.
- 55:58Um, anyone? Is there a side
- 56:00of the boat that no one's on,
- 56:04so it's probably turned sideways?
- 56:05Yes.
- 56:06Okay.
- 56:07So yeah, most people would be getting off on the one.
- 56:10So if the boat is facing this way, most people are
- 56:13over on this side where the dock is next to it and they're getting off.
- 56:16So this whole side of the boat over here probably doesn't have very many people on
- 56:19it, if any at all. Okay.
- 56:20Uh, Bill's just going to take all that in and he's going to start walking
- 56:23back to the closet. And when he
- 56:26gets to the closet, he, uh,
- 56:29is going to.
- 56:33Shut the.
- 56:33Door behind him and the
- 56:36closet.
- 56:37Okay.
- 56:37And he's going to take the mop and set it
- 56:40down, turn it, and
- 56:43then take his foot and he's going to snap off the end of
- 56:46it.
- 56:46Okay.
- 56:47Um, the bow staff. He is making a
- 56:50makeshift bow staff, which is his weapon
- 56:53of choice, which he did not bring with him
- 56:56because it was at his house. And he skipped that step
- 56:59to come straight here.
- 57:00Right. Well, you didn't think you'd need a weapon. Correct.
- 57:01He thought he was going to be fine and they figured he'd get
- 57:04a new staff at the ah, because
- 57:07like I said in the way back in, uh, the main
- 57:10story, I said he never named it.
- 57:13So it wasn't like close to him. It was just he likes having a
- 57:16staff with him. That one wasn't like his
- 57:19lifelong one. It was no new one he got.
- 57:21Sure.
- 57:22Uh, anyways, he breaks it. He makes a makeshift bow staff and then
- 57:25he kind of just like tosses it on his back. Just kind
- 57:28of puts it he doesn't have a strap for it like he
- 57:30normally does, so he can keep some M back. So what he does
- 57:33is he kind of just uh, slides
- 57:36it to his back, like, uh,
- 57:39through his shirt and slides it also
- 57:42down his pants as well that he's wearing.
- 57:45So then he's just got this giant stick that's just like all the
- 57:48way running from the leg up to his back.
- 57:51Okay.
- 57:51He's going to have to walk a little stiff legged, but he doesn't want
- 57:54anyone to know that he's got this right.
- 57:56Okay, that makes sense.
- 57:57And then he peg leg walks because now
- 58:00he has a stiff leg that he can't bend. And he's
- 58:03going to try and nonchalantly walk over to the rest
- 58:06of the crew to
- 58:09get, um, one of those packages sure. He
- 58:12talked about.
- 58:13Yeah. Okay. So yeah, you're able to get over there,
- 58:16although be it, uh, pretty awkwardly, uh,
- 58:18grab a box and then start kind of heading off. It's definitely
- 58:21very awkward getting off the ship on the ramp. Oh, yeah.
- 58:24No, that's very hard.
- 58:26They definitely, probably are giving him weird voices.
- 58:28They are. They are. And uh, the one well
- 58:31spoken pirate guy, Carl Coney. Uh, he comes up to you, he
- 58:34says, I say, boy, uh,
- 58:37what seems to be the problem with your leg? Oh,
- 58:40your ligament.
- 58:42My life? Yeah. It's
- 58:44ligaments.
- 58:46It's stiff.
- 58:47I have not worked on a ship in a long time. And
- 58:50the waves and the movement and.
- 58:52This leg is just real sore.
- 58:54I kind of slipped with it earlier on some rope.
- 58:58First day of pirate life.
- 59:00First day of pirate life. And you, uh, get
- 59:03stiff.
- 59:04All that swaying back and forth while you swab the
- 59:07deck. I tell you what, uh,
- 59:10it does a number on you.
- 59:11Some good sleep. And I'll probably be right as random.
- 59:14That's right. Maybe, uh, your grandpa can make you some nice
- 59:17tea.
- 59:17Oh, tea.
- 59:18I don't like stuff, really.
- 59:20I know he makes a m mean tea. I've heard.
- 59:23Uh, personally, I'm not a fan of.
- 59:25Tea, but I don't know. But I guess
- 59:28more for us.
- 59:29Yeah, more for you, exactly.
- 59:30All right. Fair enough. Well, uh, yeah, uh,
- 59:34after a few days or so, I mean, you'll be back on land anyway,
- 59:37so I suppose it'll probably all
- 59:40wash away here soon. Yeah.
- 59:41Well, if you don't mind, I'm going to go. This box is rather heavy.
- 59:44Oh, sorry. Yes, of course.
- 59:45And Bill just kind of keeps
- 59:48hobbling his one leg forward down this
- 59:51ramp.
- 59:52You're really pulling the pirate look off.
- 59:54He really does look like a pirate because he looks like he's got an
- 59:57actual peg, a foot instead. But he's
- 1:00:00not bending his leg.
- 1:00:01He has a third pick, like tossing.
- 1:00:02It in front of him as he's walking.
- 1:00:04Um, so after a few goes or
- 1:00:07so, uh, you eventually get all the boxes off the ship
- 1:00:10that they're expecting to and, uh, you guys kind of head in and
- 1:00:13you find that there's actually, like I don't want to say, like, a whole
- 1:00:16village, but it definitely looks like maybe a small
- 1:00:19village had abandoned or maybe the pirates had run them out.
- 1:00:22Who knows? And so they've kind of taken over. So there's some
- 1:00:25actual housing structures and stuff like that. And, uh,
- 1:00:28what happens is a lot of the pirates, they start a big fire in the
- 1:00:31center of the little village. Mr. Okaron's out
- 1:00:33there, uh, Cookie has like this giant looks like, uh,
- 1:00:37some sort of a porcubore or something,
- 1:00:40uh, over the spit. And he's just like, roasting that up
- 1:00:43for everybody. So a lot of people are playing some
- 1:00:45instruments or dancing around. Just kind of having a good time. We made
- 1:00:48it to port.
- 1:00:49We got some good loot.
- 1:00:50Wasn't as everything we expected, but we're
- 1:00:53here. It's kind of a home coming home. So, uh,
- 1:00:56everybody seems to be in pretty good spirits for the most part. The captain kind of
- 1:00:59just sits by and watches. He's sitting over by the fire, uh,
- 1:01:02just kind of laughing. He's having some drinks.
- 1:01:05He's talking to. A couple of the crew members, things along those lines.
- 1:01:08Okay.
- 1:01:09Um, Bill's going to make his way to wherever he's
- 1:01:12probably following someone ahead of him with a box. And he just follows
- 1:01:15him to wherever that is.
- 1:01:16Right? Yeah. I mean, they put all their boxes down. This is all
- 1:01:18after yeah, all the boxes are kind of so after he.
- 1:01:21Sets his box down, he's going to see if there's an opening for him
- 1:01:24to kind of, like, slide away into the shadows behind the building.
- 1:01:27Okay.
- 1:01:30Give me a push.
- 1:01:31Your luck.
- 1:01:37Okay. So basically, you successfully
- 1:01:40are able to sneak behind one of the buildings. But as
- 1:01:43you do so, you can hear the Captain,
- 1:01:46uh, say something to the effect of,
- 1:01:48uh, you there, Mr.
- 1:01:51Ogron. Where's your boy, uh, your
- 1:01:54grandson? So basically, you know that they
- 1:01:56might be looking for you to some extent,
- 1:01:59uh, in the near future, but as of the moment, you are out of
- 1:02:02sight.
- 1:02:03So they know I'm m not there to some
- 1:02:05extent.
- 1:02:06Like I said, I mean, you could be in one of the buildings. It's going to take
- 1:02:09a while for them to look around the immediate, like.
- 1:02:11Where we might think I'm still on the ships.
- 1:02:13Exactly. Yeah. It could be either of the thing. Okay.
- 1:02:16Um, well, when I sneak past the
- 1:02:18buildings, I wanted to look around.
- 1:02:20Okay.
- 1:02:21Just get an idea of where it is. My goal
- 1:02:24is I'm looking for, like, a dinghy.
- 1:02:26Oh, okay. Yeah.
- 1:02:27Um, from this island, can
- 1:02:30we see the mainland?
- 1:02:31So you can just barely see the mainland kind of peeking
- 1:02:34up in the distance. Uh, you know where
- 1:02:37it was. You could see it from the ship pretty well.
- 1:02:41Um, you kind of look around. So for the most part, outside
- 1:02:44of this little village, let's call it, um,
- 1:02:47which is not too far from the docks,
- 1:02:49it's pretty well like jungled and things along those
- 1:02:52lines. Um, but you do eventually, I mean, you kind of make your
- 1:02:55way back over to the dock. And you do notice that near the dock, they have a
- 1:02:58handful of dinghies, little rowboats
- 1:03:00or what have you, um, that are stationed there in the
- 1:03:03sand, kind of tied down, just really simple. Just tied
- 1:03:06to, like, a nearby tree or something like that, so they don't float
- 1:03:09away. If the tide were to come in.
- 1:03:11A little high, bill's going to make his way over to those dinghies.
- 1:03:13Okay.
- 1:03:14And then just slide into one of them.
- 1:03:17He's going to just take out his bow staff and slide it
- 1:03:20into it. Just kind of just lay it down.
- 1:03:22Okay.
- 1:03:23And then he's just going to go back to the, uh,
- 1:03:26pirate where everyone else is.
- 1:03:27Okay. So as you walk in, the pirate Captain, he sees you and he
- 1:03:30says, oh, boy, I was wondering where you were
- 1:03:33at. We were just looking for you. How was your first day on the
- 1:03:36crew?
- 1:03:38They'll grab to the back, and he's like, I'm
- 1:03:41awfully stiff to be.
- 1:03:42He's got his sea legs coming in. I see.
- 1:03:46Well, that's too bad that we came aboard, uh, onto the
- 1:03:49shore, because, uh, usually if you stick around
- 1:03:51on the ship for a few days in a row, it makes it a lot
- 1:03:54easier to just fully transition in real quick. But,
- 1:03:57uh, not much we can do. Unless you want to go sleep on
- 1:04:00the boat now.
- 1:04:02I'm fine out here.
- 1:04:03All right. Well, anyways, we are just having
- 1:04:06some fun. Uh, no responsibilities, too much in the morning.
- 1:04:09We're, uh, planning on just resting up for the next day
- 1:04:12or so, and then we're going to take our spoils over
- 1:04:15on the schooner over to the mainland, and we'll
- 1:04:17do some trading. I wasn't sure if you wanted to come along for that.
- 1:04:21Oh, that'd be cool.
- 1:04:22Yeah. Yes. Learn a little bit about what it is to sort
- 1:04:25of negotiate and, uh, maybe intimidate some of
- 1:04:27the businessmen over there
- 1:04:30into giving us some pretty good deals. Yeah.
- 1:04:33I mean, I want to learn everything on how to become a pirate.
- 1:04:36That's my boy.
- 1:04:39Well, all right. Well, you just, uh, enjoyed yourself.
- 1:04:42Have some, um, fun at the party, enjoy
- 1:04:45some of the food. Uh, your grandpa's making
- 1:04:48tea, but I know that's not really a thing from what I've
- 1:04:51heard. Uh, so just, uh, enjoy yourself,
- 1:04:54boy. Uh, you've earned it. I'm pretty proud of
- 1:04:57Ginyon for a kid that we found on a
- 1:04:59passenger ship and kidnapped. I'm pretty impressed by how well you've taken
- 1:05:02to this, by the way, boy. Where's your parents?
- 1:05:07Dead.
- 1:05:10Good.
- 1:05:11Yeah, I'm perfect for a pirate.
- 1:05:13That's right. You have such a good spirit about it that you're
- 1:05:16almost freaking me out. You're so cool with it.
- 1:05:18It happened a long time ago.
- 1:05:19Ah.
- 1:05:20I was living in an orphanage in the Fire Nation, and then
- 1:05:23I got sick of it. So then I wanted to try something new, so I was
- 1:05:26going to the Earth Kingdom. Um, and honestly, being a
- 1:05:28pirate is something new, I
- 1:05:31guess.
- 1:05:32Well, we're happy to have you. Like I said, I'm pretty
- 1:05:35impressed by how well you've transitioned into it. All
- 1:05:38right, well, everybody have your fun, have your good times,
- 1:05:41and, uh, we'll figure things out tomorrow morning.
- 1:05:43Now. Did Mr. Okeron hear that?
- 1:05:46Yes.
- 1:05:47Oh, okay.
- 1:05:48Anyways yep, like, uh, I said, people kind of continue to party.
- 1:05:51Mr. Okeron just kind of sitting by a big old pot of tea. He's just
- 1:05:53keeping stirring it, pouring it for people as they come. Know? He
- 1:05:56seems really excited when somebody comes to get a little cup of tea.
- 1:06:00Bill just kind of chilled by the.
- 1:06:02Fire with Mr.
- 1:06:05O'gron, or kind of.
- 1:06:06Near Mr. O'ron also near Cookie, because he wants some of that
- 1:06:09fish. Not the tea, but the fish or whatever he was cooking.
- 1:06:12Yeah, uh, it was like, uh, a wild
- 1:06:14boar. Yeah. You
- 1:06:17absolutely can get first pickings of that. Oh, yeah.
- 1:06:20You watch him as he just cuts off a big chunk and just starts
- 1:06:23handing chunks out to people and stuff like that.
- 1:06:26And he's kind of know, doing what Bill
- 1:06:28kind of does, where he kind of stays quiet and he just sits back and
- 1:06:31observes everyone. He's like, taking in the moment, the
- 1:06:34music, the, um, watching people coming to talk to Mr.
- 1:06:37Okra and stuff. He's trying to kind of pick up more
- 1:06:39on too.
- 1:06:41Oh, okay.
- 1:06:41Just observing him. Well, if there's anything, this is the guy
- 1:06:44he's claiming to be his grandpa. Probably should try
- 1:06:47and figure out more about him.
- 1:06:48Sure. Well, if there are any specific questions that you want
- 1:06:51to ask, you could definitely do an assessment. Sure. Go for
- 1:06:54it. Watch.
- 1:06:55I'm going to fail this. Rolling. You went
- 1:06:58blind? No, I, uh, actually rolled
- 1:07:00a ten.
- 1:07:03Oh, wow. Okay. So on a ten plus, you get to ask two of,
- 1:07:06uh, the questions and you also get a plus one ongoing
- 1:07:09when, uh, acting on any of the answers for whatever
- 1:07:12that might entail.
- 1:07:13These questions are a little weird for this situation because
- 1:07:16they're usually like, if.
- 1:07:17You'Re in trouble right. Yeah. Feel free to kind of
- 1:07:20reword them based on whatever is that you're kind of looking
- 1:07:23for.
- 1:07:24But I will say that these are kind of
- 1:07:27important because Bill is
- 1:07:30currently also Wallace in here and they're doing all this. He is scheming
- 1:07:33on how he's going to escape. Uh,
- 1:07:36he's trying to figure out how he's escaped. And I think
- 1:07:39his first one is, uh,
- 1:07:41what is his biggest threat. So if at any
- 1:07:44moment he's planning on running with Mr. Okra,
- 1:07:47what does he think will be his biggest threat to stop?
- 1:07:50Sure. I, um, would definitely say
- 1:07:53that if the crew were to find out too
- 1:07:56quickly, um, he would worry that
- 1:07:59given the time it's going to take for him and Mr. M Ogron
- 1:08:02to row to the shore, once you get there, you're
- 1:08:04probably okay, you can probably find some way to either hide or get away.
- 1:08:07But if you weren't able to row there fast enough before the crew
- 1:08:11figured out that you were gone, I mean, their ships
- 1:08:13are much faster, whether it be one of their schooners that they use,
- 1:08:16or whether it be the main ship, which you doubt they would probably
- 1:08:19use.
- 1:08:20Well, when Bill heard, uh, the plan of
- 1:08:23them going to the mainland, they can bring Bill with them.
- 1:08:26I was thinking that would be a better chance to break away because they'll be in
- 1:08:29a know, he can just hide between like
- 1:08:32he can just run off and hide between buildings and alleyways
- 1:08:35and stuff. And it'd be a lot easier for them to get away
- 1:08:38on in the city than row into the city.
- 1:08:40Sure.
- 1:08:42Um, his biggest worry right now is Mr.
- 1:08:44Okuron. He knows he's young and nimble and
- 1:08:47can get away quickly. But he's not so sure about an
- 1:08:50old dude, right?
- 1:08:54Is he going to be a liability? Can you
- 1:08:57bring him along and stuff?
- 1:08:58Okay. Yeah. Okay.
- 1:09:00Uh, uh, I'm going to
- 1:09:03ask, uh, what here can I use to escape?
- 1:09:06Okay, um, so obviously you have the
- 1:09:08dinghy. Uh, if you were to do it that way, you
- 1:09:11know that they have a schooner. And you know that schooners, uh,
- 1:09:14based on whatever amount of knowledge Bill might have about
- 1:09:17ships, he knows that it's a small,
- 1:09:20uh, vessel with sails, so it's a lot
- 1:09:23faster comparatively to most
- 1:09:26things. It's a very speedy boat. Um, so
- 1:09:29that would be really useful. Um, let's see.
- 1:09:32Obviously, you've already kind of come up with the idea of
- 1:09:34just waiting until they take you along in the first
- 1:09:37place. Uh, let's see, what else could
- 1:09:40you use to escape?
- 1:09:43Um you know, in the back of your mind that if
- 1:09:46it came down to it, you could also if you just needed
- 1:09:48to lose them or maybe create some sort of
- 1:09:51a diversion or distraction. If you were to run into the woods,
- 1:09:55you wonder this island based on
- 1:09:57cleaning the deck while you were cleaning the deck on the way over here, you kind of
- 1:10:00got a glimpse of a pretty decent amount of the island. It's
- 1:10:03a fairly large island, so it would take them quite a while
- 1:10:06on foot, uh, which, you know, is kind of almost like a
- 1:10:09weakness to these pirates. They're not on their ship.
- 1:10:12They're not where they're experienced. If they're just running around an island, they might know the
- 1:10:15island pretty well, maybe. Um, but whatever
- 1:10:18the case, if you could sneak into the woods and hide,
- 1:10:22um, it would take them a long time to probably try to
- 1:10:25find you amidst the jungle.
- 1:10:29I would say that's a pretty solid overview of the things
- 1:10:32that you could potentially use.
- 1:10:33Okay, that's it.
- 1:10:36All right.
- 1:10:36Just sit there and take in.
- 1:10:39Sure, sure. Um, honestly, some of these pirate
- 1:10:42guys are willing to party pretty much almost the whole
- 1:10:45night through. Uh, I don't know how much you
- 1:10:47might hit a certain point. Mr. O'gron, he hits a certain
- 1:10:50point for sure where he puts out the fire, and he's like, well, the
- 1:10:53tea here in the pot should be good for another, maybe one
- 1:10:56to 2 hours. So feel free to enjoy it.
- 1:10:59Uh, until then, fill your own cups. Uh, I'm going
- 1:11:02to bed.
- 1:11:04Bill would join him.
- 1:11:05Okay, sounds good. So Bill kind of falls after him, and he's like,
- 1:11:08well, Bill, what are you thinking as far
- 1:11:10as a possible escape?
- 1:11:14Well, there's two ideas, okay.
- 1:11:18And I'm going to pitch both of them to you, because,
- 1:11:21honestly, both ideas
- 1:11:24stem from you.
- 1:11:25Sure.
- 1:11:27The first idea is,
- 1:11:29uh, we're going to the shore tomorrow. At least I am I'm
- 1:11:32not sure if you are. I'm not sure if you talked to the captain
- 1:11:35yet. He wants to bring me along to train me.
- 1:11:38Right. I did talk to him. Uh, he said he
- 1:11:41was a little bit concerned at my, uh,
- 1:11:43motives and didn't really want to bring me along. He's worried
- 1:11:46I might try to run off.
- 1:11:49I suppose maybe you could tell him you need some specialty
- 1:11:51ingredients.
- 1:11:52Well, um, m maybe, yeah, I might.
- 1:11:54Be able to I mean, I bet that would work.
- 1:11:57That's true.
- 1:11:58But then while we're there, we just take off and
- 1:12:01leave. We're on.
- 1:12:01Off. Right.
- 1:12:02Hide in the city. Find somewhere to building to hide in or
- 1:12:05something. Uh, my worry
- 1:12:08for that plan is I don't know how good you are at
- 1:12:10running and escaping and
- 1:12:13stuff.
- 1:12:14I like to think I make do, but, uh,
- 1:12:16I'm sure within the city, there'll be options. Maybe
- 1:12:19we can, uh, see something. Sure,
- 1:12:22yeah. Grab a cart.
- 1:12:25Yeah. I mean, I think I'd be strong enough to pull you in, like a
- 1:12:28ripshaw or something.
- 1:12:29Maybe there's a way. I mean, I'm not
- 1:12:32usually one for theft, but if we're stealing from pirates,
- 1:12:35I suppose that's a different I mean.
- 1:12:36We'Re pirates right now. I think we're allowed to steal
- 1:12:39right now.
- 1:12:40I suppose that's a fair way to put it. Uh, but I was
- 1:12:43thinking maybe if we could, uh, maybe find some
- 1:12:46money over here that we could use
- 1:12:49to buy a horse and buggy or something
- 1:12:52along those lines, and then we could just ride right out of town. Or
- 1:12:55even just a pair of, uh man, I can't think
- 1:12:58of what they're called. Ostrich horses.
- 1:13:00Ostrich just says I have
- 1:13:02money. I don't know how much
- 1:13:05money that is.
- 1:13:06Oh, yeah, because he said he grabbed somebody, I don't know, like
- 1:13:09ten gold or something.
- 1:13:10Would that be enough to pay for a cart?
- 1:13:12Um, I don't know if it'd be enough to buy one, because I have.
- 1:13:15Money and I have a ticket, so I didn't use that money for the ticket.
- 1:13:17Right. It might be enough to hire, uh, somebody
- 1:13:20to take us somewhere. I don't know if it'll be enough to buy it,
- 1:13:23but maybe that's all we'll need. If we can get to, like, a
- 1:13:26nearby town or something like that yeah.
- 1:13:28And then we could just hide away.
- 1:13:29Yeah. Yeah. And figure know where to go next.
- 1:13:33The one sad thing, of course, is I don't think I'll be able to
- 1:13:36bring all these ingredients with me. But I suppose
- 1:13:38there's not much we can do about that.
- 1:13:40I mean, with the rate the pirates are going right now, these ingredients are going to
- 1:13:43go fast anyways, so if we stayed here, your ingredients wouldn't
- 1:13:46last long.
- 1:13:47No, you're right. You're right. Bill brings a tear to my eye.
- 1:13:50But it's replacing hey, at least they're enjoying in the oh,
- 1:13:52that's true.
- 1:13:53That is true. Yes.
- 1:13:56Well, uh, and the second plan,
- 1:13:59you've already seen Gung Ho for the first one, so you're probably not even going to like
- 1:14:02the second one. But if we're worried about
- 1:14:05getting caught in the city,
- 1:14:09we could wait until everyone's asleep and take a
- 1:14:12dinghy and.
- 1:14:12Rode a boat shore
- 1:14:15tonight.
- 1:14:16Tonight? I already have a dinghy ready.
- 1:14:19Mhm. I mean, that's not a bad idea either. I mean,
- 1:14:22everyone's either drunk or asleep or
- 1:14:25both. Yeah.
- 1:14:26There might be a lookout, though. But I could knock him
- 1:14:29out.
- 1:14:29All right. Uh,
- 1:14:32if that's the case, I mean, I could go load a couple of my
- 1:14:35crates onto it.
- 1:14:37Yeah, that way you get some of your stuff.
- 1:14:39That's right. Um,
- 1:14:43I suppose it's tough. Well, I tell
- 1:14:46you what, uh I tell you what.
- 1:14:49If they catch anyone, they'll be catching me.
- 1:14:52And there's a chance that I might not be able to go to shore for the time
- 1:14:55being anyways. Yeah,
- 1:14:58but I mean, you could still get out of here
- 1:15:01when they take you to shore. So I mean, we could give this a
- 1:15:04try. And if it doesn't work, there's still hope for you to get out of here
- 1:15:07and then I can figure something out in the meantime, I suppose.
- 1:15:10Are you sure about that?
- 1:15:13I don't want you to be put in danger or something. I
- 1:15:16mean, they were just about to throw you overboard.
- 1:15:18Yeah, that's true, I guess.
- 1:15:20How much do they like your tea and want to keep you around?
- 1:15:22That's true. I mean, at the very least, I feel like if they kept me
- 1:15:25trying to escape, they'd just make sure that I couldn't do that anymore.
- 1:15:28They just chain you to a wall.
- 1:15:29And make you keep make tea all.
- 1:15:31The is that what you want?
- 1:15:33It's like Michael Jordan. Yeah, Michael Jordan,
- 1:15:36but with well,
- 1:15:39uh hmm. HM. Making tea is my life dream,
- 1:15:42but I'm not sure if that's the conditions I'd want to do it in.
- 1:15:45Um I don't know. What do you think Bill should
- 1:15:48be again?
- 1:15:50My plan stems from you. Because
- 1:15:53I don't want to say the.
- 1:15:55Uh.
- 1:15:57I don't know what the word would be for it, but basically you're the, uh,
- 1:16:01liability in this case.
- 1:16:02Because either way, I know I could.
- 1:16:03Probably get away fine. Like, if I went to that boat by myself right now, I don't think
- 1:16:06they would catch me missing. I know I'm strong enough. I could get away,
- 1:16:09right? Or if I wait till morning, that's.
- 1:16:12Probably what I would do without you.
- 1:16:13I would wait till morning and just take off in the city. I know I'm fast,
- 1:16:16I know I'm quick. I know I've, uh, got street smarts.
- 1:16:19Sure, I could get away. It's just
- 1:16:22you. And the thing is, I'm not trying to
- 1:16:25be mean and say you're like no, I'm
- 1:16:27just saying I know you're older and I know we have to work around
- 1:16:30that. No, the last thing I want to do is
- 1:16:33abandon you. You helped me back on
- 1:16:36the bow, and, uh, now I want to help you on this
- 1:16:39bow.
- 1:16:39Sure. Well, let me ask you this,
- 1:16:42Bill. How confident do you think you could take
- 1:16:45out a.
- 1:16:50Have a how would
- 1:16:53you say? I've been training with bow staffs my
- 1:16:56whole life, and I've made myself a bow staff,
- 1:16:59and I can get it anytime I
- 1:17:01want.
- 1:17:02All right, well, I
- 1:17:05may just be an old man, and, uh,
- 1:17:08I understand that, but I want to make sure
- 1:17:11that you have a chance for sure
- 1:17:14at getting out of this. Uh, pirates are no place,
- 1:17:17um, for a kid or an adult, for
- 1:17:20that matter. But I'm going to help.
- 1:17:24Let's try the dinghy, and if it doesn't work out, there's still an
- 1:17:27option for you.
- 1:17:27You'll take the fall.
- 1:17:28Sure. Of course.
- 1:17:30Are you sure?
- 1:17:31Yes, I'm sure. I'll figure something out afterwards.
- 1:17:34All right, well, you get your
- 1:17:37crates.
- 1:17:37I will.
- 1:17:38All right, I'm going to go knock out a
- 1:17:41lookout.
- 1:17:41All right, sounds good. I'll start loading up my stuff, and then, uh
- 1:17:44yep, just meet me at the dinghy when you're ready. And
- 1:17:47with that, you two split up in the dog of
- 1:17:50the jungle. Okay.
- 1:17:51So Bill's goal right now is
- 1:17:55he wants to get to that dinghy.
- 1:17:56Sure.
- 1:17:57And, uh, he wants to get to that dinghy and get his bow staff.
- 1:17:59Okay.
- 1:18:00But also looking for the lookout, because he figures
- 1:18:02there will be a lookout, maybe one or two.
- 1:18:05And he wants to find the lookout that would be on that side
- 1:18:08near the boat. Probably would even be on the boat.
- 1:18:12If Bill's thinking like that, he doesn't really know pirates and how they
- 1:18:14do it, but he figures they would be one on the boat.
- 1:18:17And since the boat's near those dinghies, he
- 1:18:20would have to get to that boat.
- 1:18:22Right. Yes. And you're 100% right. So you run
- 1:18:25back to the dinghy, you get your bow staff, you hurry over to kind
- 1:18:28of the main section of the little dock. And
- 1:18:31on the deck of the ship, you see there's a pirate.
- 1:18:34He's kind of slowly drinking his
- 1:18:36way. It's the well spoken pirate.
- 1:18:39Why not?
- 1:18:39He's fun.
- 1:18:43He's up kind of like hanging off the side of the deck with his
- 1:18:46legs kind of dangling there, sitting there. Uh, he's having an
- 1:18:49occasional sip from, uh, his bottle of
- 1:18:51grog or whatever the case. Just kind of keeping an eye
- 1:18:54over the dock, keeping an eye over the waters and stuff. And, uh,
- 1:18:57you see, at the moment, uh, he seems to be
- 1:19:00shouting back and forth between Mr. Okaron, Mr. Rokuron standing
- 1:19:03there with, uh so a lot of the crates are kind of stacked up
- 1:19:06right there by the dock.
- 1:19:08Yeah.
- 1:19:09Off the sand, off the beach, but not too far from the ship
- 1:19:12because they just kind of wanted to get it off and have just leave
- 1:19:15it there. Right.
- 1:19:15So they can then move the schooner.
- 1:19:17In the so, you
- 1:19:20know, Mr. Okran's.
- 1:19:21Standing there, and the guy's like, what.
- 1:19:22Do you think you're doing? And he says, oh,
- 1:19:25well, I'm just, uh, moving some of these crates around to
- 1:19:28a different position. Don't mind me. You go back
- 1:19:31to whatever it is that you're doing. He says, oh,
- 1:19:35what the hell? Uh, that's not even the
- 1:19:38voice. That's his drunk voice. That's
- 1:19:40right. Yeah. As long as you're not
- 1:19:43taking a ship, I don't really care.
- 1:19:46And he's like, all right, well, you have a wonderful
- 1:19:48night. And he's like, I
- 1:19:51will. And, uh, Mr.
- 1:19:53Okran, like I said, you just see him
- 1:19:56take, uh, his crates and start moving them
- 1:19:59over towards the area with the dinghy. And
- 1:20:02he's kind of looking back like, oh, boy, this is a little bit awkward. So he just kind of
- 1:20:05like, starts moving. He's more just
- 1:20:07reorganizing these boxes so that his stuff is in its own
- 1:20:10pile so he can quickly just start grabbing them and loading them on.
- 1:20:13But he's not entirely sure what he's going to do because this guy is.
- 1:20:16Kind of he's just kind of getting them ready. But he's not moving.
- 1:20:19Right. Because it would look really suspicious if he started throwing them into
- 1:20:21the is.
- 1:20:22Uh, he the only lookout Bill can see. There's none
- 1:20:25on the land. Just this.
- 1:20:26Right, right. Okay.
- 1:20:27And of course it's uh
- 1:20:31uh, he's bill is
- 1:20:34going to start hobbling up the
- 1:20:37because he's now stashed his bow staff back into
- 1:20:40its now hobbling pirate
- 1:20:43wobble.
- 1:20:43Hey.
- 1:20:44Thankfully, this is the one guy he already had this cover so
- 1:20:47he can get away with it. Hobbling
- 1:20:49up to the boat.
- 1:20:50Cal Cody sees it and he says, oh, my gosh,
- 1:20:53boy. Back again with those sea legs.
- 1:20:56What are you doing here?
- 1:20:57Well, I was talking to the captain, right? Uh
- 1:21:00huh. And he asked me how I
- 1:21:03was doing day one.
- 1:21:04Right.
- 1:21:04And I told him I was rather stiff right from the sea.
- 1:21:07I can see that.
- 1:21:08And he said a pirate
- 1:21:11usually gets over their sea legs quick. If they don't get off
- 1:21:14the boat, that means they're always on it. They're sleeping for the first few
- 1:21:17days. I'm sure that happened with you, right?
- 1:21:19Uh, yeah.
- 1:21:21So I was thinking about that, and I was like, you know what? It'd probably be better
- 1:21:24if I slept on the boat than out there. Sure, it's probably going to be rougher
- 1:21:27than the nice beds on the land,
- 1:21:30but at least I'd be on the water. And then my sea lathes would come
- 1:21:33in.
- 1:21:36Faster, sleep on the boat. I can dig the initiative.
- 1:21:39I've got no problem with it. I'll be on this boat myself.
- 1:21:41In fact, um,
- 1:21:44all right. Okay.
- 1:21:47Uh, Bill's just going to kind of walk past him and he's
- 1:21:50going to make his way over to, uh,
- 1:21:53the closet.
- 1:21:54Okay.
- 1:21:54And he's going to go, hey, Cal, come
- 1:21:57here. What is so wait, I forgot to say before
- 1:22:00he did that he's going to take out his bow
- 1:22:03staff and hide it around the corner so
- 1:22:06Cal can't see it, but he can quickly grab.
- 1:22:08Sure, sure. All right. So, uh, yeah, Cal
- 1:22:11comes hobbling over to you. He's not,
- 1:22:14like, super drunk, but you can tell that every once in a while
- 1:22:17he steps he looks a little bit like a slight
- 1:22:20sway. Yeah, exactly. A slight sway. And he says I
- 1:22:22say, Boy, what is it that you, uh, need?
- 1:22:25Well, look at this. And Bill points into the
- 1:22:28closet, and he's pointing at the broken mop head that's
- 1:22:31just laying there.
- 1:22:33I said, don't lose the buckets. And here
- 1:22:36we are. We got a broken mop. It's
- 1:22:39a good thing we got three.
- 1:22:42And when Bill sees him leaning down to look at it
- 1:22:45and stuff, he's going to grab the bow staff around the
- 1:22:48corner. Okay. He stands back up. Bill's just going to take
- 1:22:50a giant crack at the back of his head.
- 1:22:52To knock him gosh. Okay. All right. So
- 1:22:55we're jumping into a this, uh.
- 1:22:57Combat, or would this be more like, rely on my skills and
- 1:23:00training because it's not technically a combat?
- 1:23:03Uh, now.
- 1:23:06If combat.
- 1:23:07Yeah, no, I'd say that's a fair point. Yeah. Let's try to rely on
- 1:23:09your skills and training. See if you can really knock him in the
- 1:23:12head with your bow.
- 1:23:13I mean, I've practiced.
- 1:23:14Sure.
- 1:23:15Let's see if my okay, well, I just rolled a
- 1:23:18natural twelve. You whack it right over
- 1:23:21the head.
- 1:23:21At the mix of between his drunkenness
- 1:23:24and the direct hit right onto the back of his
- 1:23:28balding noggin. He
- 1:23:31goes, oh, my.
- 1:23:35And he falls in. But it's so awkward because, like I
- 1:23:37said before, his body is just massive or his
- 1:23:40upper body is, I guess. So he's kind of, like,
- 1:23:43awkwardly stuck, like, kind of wedged into the
- 1:23:46door. But he's unconscious.
- 1:23:48So when Bill saw it was
- 1:23:51Calconi, he really didn't realize that he needed to like,
- 1:23:54if after he knocks him up, he's got to tie him up and trap him and
- 1:23:57stuff. And he realized this guy couldn't get into the closet. So if
- 1:24:00I got him into the closet knocked
- 1:24:03out, how would he get out?
- 1:24:06But I mean, like I said, he's kind of jammed into the
- 1:24:12doorway, push.
- 1:24:13With his foot, just try to get this guy right through the
- 1:24:16door.
- 1:24:16I think over some
- 1:24:19time, you're finally able to get him jammed into this
- 1:24:22little closet, and you could tell that when
- 1:24:25he wakes up, he is going to have
- 1:24:28so many kinks in just every part
- 1:24:31of himself. It's going to hurt
- 1:24:34so bad. He's going to have so many bruises.
- 1:24:36Partially because you had to kick him in. Probably the
- 1:24:39dog. Massive, big old concussion on
- 1:24:42the back of his head.
- 1:24:44Concussion. And this guy's not in a good spot.
- 1:24:46Right, bill, once he's fully in, he's going to
- 1:24:49push his legs in, which is not going to be as hard because those legs are tight.
- 1:24:52Right?
- 1:24:52The legs are tight. So
- 1:24:55he's not going to jam anything in the door. He doesn't want to hurt him, right. More than
- 1:24:58he has. Um, and he's going to grab,
- 1:25:02uh, uh, the mop head that he broke off, and he's just going to
- 1:25:05set it on top of his bald head.
- 1:25:06To give him hair. He's got, like, white
- 1:25:09dreadlocks now, and.
- 1:25:12Bill kind of just does, like, a slight smile. And
- 1:25:14he's like, sorry, bud,
- 1:25:18but I, uh, had to knock out someone.
- 1:25:20And he just shuts the
- 1:25:23door. All right.
- 1:25:24He thought about tying him up, but then he was like, this
- 1:25:27guy was so hard to get into this that if
- 1:25:30he does wake up, he's probably going to be stuck in here anyways.
- 1:25:33They're going to have to cut him out, probably.
- 1:25:36Yeah, they have to. Two guys grabbing legs
- 1:25:38and pulling poor calconi.
- 1:25:41Uh, and then Bill grabs his boat. Well, he still has it,
- 1:25:44but he shuts the door and takes
- 1:25:47off down the all.
- 1:25:48Uh, right. Sounds good. So, yeah, you get off the
- 1:25:50ship and you run down, and Mr. Okron.
- 1:25:52Is like, oh, clear.
- 1:25:55Great. And Mr. Okeron comes out, and I'd
- 1:25:58say between the two of you, quickly loaded up onto the
- 1:26:01dinghy.
- 1:26:01And then Mr. Okran hops in, bill unties
- 1:26:04the rope, and then he gets in the water and just starts
- 1:26:07shoving.
- 1:26:07Yeah, yeah. And it takes a little bit obviously, it's a
- 1:26:10bit weighed down now, uh, with the ingredients. But sure enough, you get
- 1:26:13it onto the water and you guys start rowing. Rowing
- 1:26:16and rowing and rowing. And you're getting tired, but you're rowing
- 1:26:18and rowing. And then, um, honestly,
- 1:26:21with nobody, uh, everybody's either, like I
- 1:26:24said, asleep or partying or drunk or whatever
- 1:26:26the case, or in a closet.
- 1:26:29That's right. I mean, there's nobody to really come after you guys.
- 1:26:32Uh, in the back of my mind when I wrote this, I kind of thought to myself how cool
- 1:26:35it would be to have a ship chase. We can save that for
- 1:26:38another day. I guess so, because all things considered, you guys took care
- 1:26:41of pretty much all your bases. And, uh, you row up to
- 1:26:44the shore by early morning, uh,
- 1:26:47to the shores of,
- 1:26:49uh, this little, uh, Earth
- 1:26:52Kingdom City, uh, where you can
- 1:26:55tell that it's kind of especially the area where you row up and
- 1:26:58your dinghy seems like a pretty rough and rowdy kind of space,
- 1:27:01obviously, because they've been trading with pirates and stuff like that.
- 1:27:03But otherwise, you guys get there and, uh, within the next
- 1:27:06couple of hours, you're able to find somebody who's
- 1:27:09willing.
- 1:27:09To, uh, give you the next city over.
- 1:27:11Take us to the next city, and then from there, you guys can make
- 1:27:14your way over to Gao Ling.
- 1:27:17Okay. Then we give a
- 1:27:20little tip to the one guy to be like, uh, you
- 1:27:23didn't see us this morning.
- 1:27:24That's right. That's right. And he's like, uh, I was
- 1:27:27just hauling. Supplies.
- 1:27:28There you go.
- 1:27:29Which wouldn't even be a lie because you guys put a lot of supplies in
- 1:27:32there.
- 1:27:32We appreciate it.
- 1:27:34All right, well, you guys have fun.
- 1:27:37And I guess we go on our way
- 1:27:39to Galling then.
- 1:27:41All right, sounds good.
- 1:27:42Cart to cart, I guess.
- 1:27:43Cart to cart. Or even well, I guess you guys can't really go on
- 1:27:46foot because you got a bunch of ingredients. But, um, I'm sure
- 1:27:49there'd be a few times on your journey where you
- 1:27:52guys stop and you'll throw together a little pop up shop or something.
- 1:27:55And Mr. O'Connor will make some tea with some of the ingredients so it
- 1:27:58gets a little bit easier as time goes on to get where you're
- 1:28:00going. But, um, you make some money from the pop up shop,
- 1:28:03you use it to pay for the next cart. Yeah,
- 1:28:06exactly. And then eventually you guys make it there. And,
- 1:28:10uh, here he has a building all picked out that
- 1:28:13he's, uh, already discussed with somebody, probably by mail or
- 1:28:15by messenger hawk or something like that. So, um, you
- 1:28:18guys are about pretty much ready to get moved in.
- 1:28:22And actually what he does is, uh, he
- 1:28:24leaves you there to kind of get things all set up and
- 1:28:27things. He has to go and run out a couple other
- 1:28:31errands, uh, to kind of procure more ingredients and
- 1:28:34get some more supplies and things like that. All of which will
- 1:28:37work into how he meets some of the other members of, uh,
- 1:28:40the Blissful Brews crew.
- 1:28:41So while I'm setting up for the Blissful Brew and getting
- 1:28:44everything ready, I'm guessing the building is a
- 1:28:46little abandoned kind of thing. So Bill
- 1:28:49basically just took it upon himself to
- 1:28:52fix everything and Mr. Okran left him some
- 1:28:55money.
- 1:28:55Sure.
- 1:28:56Buy supplies to fix everything.
- 1:28:57Absolutely.
- 1:28:57So in these it could be months, I
- 1:29:00think we said, like Bill, uh, was there for a
- 1:29:03year before, uh, other people showed up.
- 1:29:06Definitely before everybody showed up.
- 1:29:07Yeah, he was like a year. So in this year, Bill just basically turned
- 1:29:10the Blissful Brew into like the.
- 1:29:12Nicest establishment he could.
- 1:29:14Awesome. And then I guess do all
- 1:29:17three characters come at once?
- 1:29:19Uh, so the order of which they would have come and joined
- 1:29:21Bill in getting this place ready. So obviously we would have started off
- 1:29:24with Bill, uh, next it would have.
- 1:29:26Been if it was Brock, that would have been great. A very
- 1:29:29helpful hand to help out.
- 1:29:30I think Guo would have come pretty hey,
- 1:29:33he would have helped, right? That's
- 1:29:36right. Brock would have come third and then Mika would have
- 1:29:39been the final.
- 1:29:40And would she have come, like, probably when we were finished with
- 1:29:43it?
- 1:29:43Probably, yeah. Uh, she pretty much just kind of joined as part of the
- 1:29:46staff right off know, working right off when she
- 1:29:49got yep. Yep. Okay. Yeah.
- 1:29:51I guess Bill would
- 1:29:54know Brock and Gua Han more than uh, Mika.
- 1:29:57Yeah, quite a bit.
- 1:29:58Which would make sense because Gua Han
- 1:30:00and Brock both are more open about their past than everyone
- 1:30:03else, but Mika's more closed off, which makes sense because she's
- 1:30:06the newest of the group.
- 1:30:07That's right.
- 1:30:08And then there's Bill, who's the oldest in the group, and it's still probably
- 1:30:11the most closed. Right.
- 1:30:13So, yeah, he talks about current things
- 1:30:16and stuff. Not so much like, here's my whole past and
- 1:30:19my backstory and where I came from.
- 1:30:20The players do know that he's from the Fire Nation and he
- 1:30:23was the first one to meet Mr. Okeron, right?
- 1:30:26Yep.
- 1:30:26But that's all they know about him.
- 1:30:29Exactly.
- 1:30:29And for some reason, I don't think any of them have questioned his name.
- 1:30:32Unlike Mr. Okaron.
- 1:30:33Yeah, exactly. They're like Bill dor.
- 1:30:36There's a guy named Brock Lee in our group.
- 1:30:38That's right.
- 1:30:38Like Bill Door is nothing compared to that.
- 1:30:41Nobody knows how to.
- 1:30:46Pronounce.
- 1:30:47So yeah, awesome.
