- 0:27Well, hello there, everyone, and welcome once again
- 0:30to the ever-popular Inspirations for Your Life
- 0:32show.
- 0:32I'm so glad you decided to join me
- 0:35here today.
- 0:36It is a Saturday, it is September 5th,
- 0:392026, what does that mean?
- 0:41It means that we are on a brand
- 0:43new master topic.
- 0:44Whenever we start on a Saturday, so we
- 0:46go from Saturday and we go all the
- 0:47way through the week, and we finish up,
- 0:49guys, on a Friday, which we just did
- 0:51yesterday.
- 0:53And so that's how we do this.
- 0:55We run Saturday through Friday, and we have
- 0:59seven days where we have some very powerful
- 1:03master topics that hit us every single day.
- 1:07So I'm so glad you decided to join
- 1:08me.
- 1:08If this is your very first time joining
- 1:10me, I want to take the opportunity to
- 1:12say, of course, welcome, and I want to
- 1:16say thank you, yes.
- 1:19And if you've been here one time, five
- 1:21times, 10 times, 100, or maybe even more,
- 1:24I want to take the opportunity to say
- 1:25thank you, and I'd also like to say
- 1:27the words welcome, but I also want to
- 1:29say an important words, which is welcome back,
- 1:32guys.
- 1:33Really do appreciate all of you that are
- 1:35deciding to be part of this great show.
- 1:38So I very much appreciate that, and I
- 1:41hope that you're gaining some amazing value from
- 1:44not only watching the show, but being part
- 1:47of the show, and hopefully adapting this to,
- 1:50I'm going to say your everyday life.
- 1:52That's probably the most important thing I can
- 1:55say to you.
- 1:56A lot of times, we think about doing
- 1:58things, but then for whatever reason, we don't
- 2:00do it.
- 2:01And the reason we don't do it, I'm
- 2:03going to tell you why.
- 2:04It's because somebody else says something, and that
- 2:08something somebody else says, well, could be a
- 2:12big problem, and that keeps us from reaching
- 2:15our full potential.
- 2:17So guys, welcome.
- 2:19If you're thirsty or you're hungry, feel free
- 2:20to go grab that snack, that beverage, whatever
- 2:23it is that you would enjoy, get yourself
- 2:26comfortable, and of course, guys, come on back
- 2:29to the show.
- 2:30We have an awesome show here with a
- 2:33brand new master topic.
- 2:35Don't forget to check out, ladies and gentlemen,
- 2:37BelieveMeAchieved.com, of course, for more of my
- 2:39amazing, inspiring creations, which you can do 24
- 2:42hours a day, incidentally, and I ask you
- 2:46to do that once the show is over,
- 2:47because again, we have some amazing stuff here,
- 2:51and I definitely don't want you to miss
- 2:53any of it.
- 2:54So in case you're wondering, it is series
- 2:57five, and can you believe, guys, we are
- 2:59on show number 37, and this is episode
- 3:04number one.
- 3:06So I think that's a pretty important thing,
- 3:09guys, for a lot of people to realize,
- 3:12but for some reason, sometimes people just don't,
- 3:16they don't get the reasons, they don't understand
- 3:18what they're doing, and that can happen, right?
- 3:22It can happen because people just don't understand
- 3:27why things are working a certain way, right?
- 3:31I think that's probably one of the things
- 3:34I can tell you, is that people get
- 3:37stuck because of what someone else said, and
- 3:41now that's not nice to say, but you
- 3:43know, guys, it is the truth, all right?
- 3:45It absolutely is the truth.
- 3:47So if we think about that, and we
- 3:48think about why we're getting stuck, or why
- 3:50something's happening to us, chances are, it's because
- 3:54of something else somebody said, and that's changing
- 3:57our, basically, assumptions in life, and when that
- 4:00happens, you know what goes on?
- 4:02Well, we actually become a little bit, how
- 4:06can I say, dismayed by what's actually going
- 4:10on.
- 4:10So I think these are very important things
- 4:12for us to pay attention to, and these
- 4:15are subtleties that I think a lot of
- 4:17people will miss, and the reason they'll miss
- 4:19them is because they feel that that little
- 4:22thing is not important, but I'm here to
- 4:24tell you, guys, that little thing is very
- 4:26important, and that could be the difference to
- 4:28you becoming a success, or you basically just
- 4:33kind of floundering by, and I know that
- 4:35sounds harsh, but on the show, I give
- 4:38you the truth, I give you what it
- 4:39is that you need to know so you
- 4:41can become a better version of yourself.
- 4:44So I don't try to sugarcoat things, I
- 4:47just give people the way it is, and
- 4:49hopefully they will choose to adapt to that,
- 4:52and want to become a better version of
- 4:54yourself, because that's why I'm here, to become
- 4:56a better version of myself, to help others
- 4:57become better versions of themselves, and I want
- 5:00to help you all, of course, become better
- 5:02versions of yourselves, but you have to take
- 5:05the steps with me.
- 5:06You can't just say, you know, I want
- 5:08to listen to this, and just my osmosis,
- 5:10but it just happened.
- 5:11You have to be taking the steps.
- 5:13If you don't take the steps, guys, well,
- 5:15you're going to go nowhere.
- 5:17So without further ado, guys, let's kick this
- 5:19show off.
- 5:21This is the Inspirations for Your Life show,
- 5:23and our topic for today is you're not
- 5:27stuck, you're repeating yourself.
- 5:30It's Series 5, Show 37, Episode 1.
- 5:32Welcome to another powerful, amazing episode of the
- 5:37Inspirations for Your Life show.
- 5:38Who am I?
- 5:38Great question.
- 5:40I'm John C.
- 5:41Morley.
- 5:41I'm a serial entrepreneur.
- 5:43I'm an engineer, marketing specialist, video producer, podcast
- 5:46host, coach, keynote speaker, graduate student at Montclair
- 5:50State University, a passionate lifelong learner, and so
- 5:53grateful now to be a published author.
- 5:56Yes, I am.
- 5:57So our new master weekly topic is out
- 6:00today, and here it is.
- 6:02Your next level will demand a different you.
- 6:06And today, I'm starting with a question that
- 6:10might completely change the way you look at
- 6:12feeling stuck.
- 6:14What if you're not stuck?
- 6:15Just for a moment.
- 6:17What if you're repeating yourself?
- 6:19Sometimes we keep getting the same result because
- 6:22we're repeatedly making the same decisions, following the
- 6:25same routines, responding to the same triggers, and
- 6:28then wondering why nothing is changing.
- 6:31Yeah, surprise, surprise.
- 6:33So let's get into our 30 points that
- 6:34I think will help clarify this.
- 6:36Number one, your life keeps responding to what
- 6:40you repeatedly do.
- 6:41One decision rarely defines your entire direction.
- 6:44Repeat decisions do.
- 6:46Look at what you're consistently doing because repetition
- 6:49eventually becomes your reality.
- 6:52That's the truth, guys.
- 6:53Number two, stop calling a pattern bad luck.
- 6:59One unfortunate outcome may be bad luck.
- 7:02When the same situation keeps happening over again
- 7:05and again, examine the pattern.
- 7:07There may be something that you can change.
- 7:10Number three, notice what keeps producing the same
- 7:14outcome.
- 7:15Don't only study the result.
- 7:17Study what happened before.
- 7:19Your breakthrough may come from maybe understanding the
- 7:23sequence that repeatedly takes you there.
- 7:26I think these are important things to realize.
- 7:28Number four, your routine may feel safe because
- 7:35they're familiar to you.
- 7:37But a routine can also preserve the exact
- 7:40situation you're trying to escape.
- 7:42I think that's an important thing for all
- 7:45of us to pay attention to.
- 7:46People want to escape because they don't want
- 7:49to face the music of what's going on
- 7:51right now.
- 7:52Number five, stop expecting change from unchanged behavior.
- 7:58Wanting a different outcome isn't enough, guys.
- 8:00If the behavior producing yesterday's results remains unchanged,
- 8:06well, then tomorrow may look remarkably exactly familiar.
- 8:11You know, Einstein said something a long time
- 8:13ago.
- 8:13He said the definition of insanity is doing
- 8:16the same thing over and over again and
- 8:18expecting different results.
- 8:20None of us are insane, but yet why
- 8:21do we act that way?
- 8:23Well, it's because we get comfortable, we get
- 8:25into a pattern, and we know that if
- 8:27we're comfortable, well, we don't want to move
- 8:28forward, right?
- 8:29Because we don't want to change the way
- 8:31we're curling them because it just seems so
- 8:33comfortable, right?
- 8:34Number six, identify what you keep doing automatically.
- 8:38Some of our most powerful behaviors happen without
- 8:43much thought.
- 8:44Notice your automatic reactions because awareness gives you
- 8:48an opportunity to interrupt them.
- 8:51Number seven, familiar doesn't mean effective.
- 8:55A lot of people think it does.
- 8:57Comfortable doesn't mean effective.
- 8:59We often continue doing something simply because we've
- 9:02always done it that way.
- 9:04Ask whether your familiar approach is actually producing
- 9:07what you want or not, and then be
- 9:11willing to change.
- 9:12Number eight, your comfort zone can disguise itself
- 9:16as routine.
- 9:18Comfort doesn't always look like sitting around doing
- 9:21nothing.
- 9:22Sometimes it looks like staying extremely busy, doing
- 9:26things that never require you to change, and
- 9:29creating a facade that you think you're actually
- 9:31becoming successful when you're not.
- 9:33Number nine, stop rehearsing yesterday.
- 9:37If every new situation receives yesterday's response, you're
- 9:41giving your past enormous control over your future.
- 9:45Try something new, right?
- 9:47You want a difference in your life.
- 9:50Number 10, break one pattern before creating 10
- 9:55new goals.
- 9:55Can you do that?
- 9:56Yes, you can, but you're going to have
- 9:58to become uncomfortable to do that.
- 10:00You don't always need another giant goal list.
- 10:03Sometimes eliminating one destructive pattern creates more progress
- 10:07than adding 10 new ambitions.
- 10:09That's the truth, guys, but a lot of
- 10:11people just feel that if it's uncomfortable, they
- 10:14don't want to go down that roadway because
- 10:16they think, well, you know, I don't want
- 10:18to go down that way because I actually
- 10:21don't know the right way.
- 10:23I figure that if I stay comfortable, then
- 10:25I don't have to worry about it.
- 10:26I don't have to be concerned about what
- 10:28I may or may not do.
- 10:30So I think that's what scares a lot
- 10:32of people.
- 10:33Number 11, your habits reveal where you're actually
- 10:36headed.
- 10:37Goals tell you where you hope to go.
- 10:40Habits reveal the direction you're currently traveling.
- 10:43Make sure those two destinations match.
- 10:47Number 12, stop blaming circumstances for every repeated
- 10:50result.
- 10:51Circumstances absolutely matter, but don't give away all
- 10:54your power to them.
- 10:57Identify what you can influence and begin from
- 11:00there.
- 11:01Nowhere else.
- 11:02Number 13, please notice which decisions keep bringing
- 11:07you backward.
- 11:09Yeah, some decisions you make actually will get
- 11:12you to go backwards.
- 11:13Pay attention to the moments when progress repeatedly
- 11:16disappears.
- 11:17There may be a decision you're making over
- 11:19and over that needs change, right?
- 11:22And that's a truth, guys.
- 11:24The only reason you're not changing is because
- 11:26you're so darn comfortable with the way you
- 11:28are that you figure, well, you know, I'm
- 11:29just going to stay this way because it's
- 11:32comfortable.
- 11:33I don't have to worry about it.
- 11:35Yes, but you may not necessarily be doing
- 11:36something that's actually going to help you, right?
- 11:40I think that's an important piece that many
- 11:44people just don't understand, and they don't want
- 11:48to understand.
- 11:49And the reason I want to understand is
- 11:51because, again, they're comfortable, and they know that
- 11:54if they're comfortable that they can actually just
- 11:56do what they want to do.
- 11:58So let's be honest about this, guys.
- 12:00Let's think about it from the get-go,
- 12:03okay?
- 12:04And know that you're going to have to
- 12:06make a change if you want to grow,
- 12:08right?
- 12:09It's not going to be comfortable.
- 12:10I'm sorry.
- 12:11Number 14, interrupt behaviors before they become another
- 12:15year's worth.
- 12:16Yup.
- 12:16So weeks become months, months become years.
- 12:20Don't allow a pattern you already recognize to
- 12:23quietly consume another year of your precious life.
- 12:27That's a truth, guys.
- 12:29Many of us are, oh my gosh, I've
- 12:30been doing that for months.
- 12:31I've been doing that for years.
- 12:33Well, stop it.
- 12:34Number 15, stop returning to what already failed
- 12:38you.
- 12:39Familiar solutions can feel comfortable even after they've
- 12:42proven ineffective.
- 12:43Give yourself permission to try a genuinely different
- 12:46approach.
- 12:47You might be pleasantly surprised.
- 12:49Number 16, change what happens before the unwanted
- 12:53result occurs again.
- 12:55If you only attack the outcome, you may
- 12:58miss the cause.
- 12:59Look earlier in the sequence and change what
- 13:02happens before the problem appears.
- 13:06That's truthful.
- 13:07Number 17, your environment may be reinforcing your
- 13:11patterns and you don't know it yet.
- 13:13Your surroundings influence behavior.
- 13:16People, technology, schedules, and physical spaces can make
- 13:21certain habits easier or harder.
- 13:25Be careful not to reinforce the exact behavior
- 13:29you say you want to change.
- 13:31Make sure your rewards support the direction you're
- 13:35trying to build and go.
- 13:38Number 19, recognize the trigger before fighting the
- 13:43outcome.
- 13:45Patterns usually have triggers.
- 13:49Learn from what starts the sequence, okay?
- 13:53Recognizing the trigger gives you an earlier opportunity
- 13:55to choose differently.
- 13:57Number 20, create friction between you and your
- 14:02worst habits.
- 14:04Make unwanted behavior slightly harder.
- 14:07Add another step, remove easy access, or change
- 14:10the environment that makes behavior automatic.
- 14:14And when you do that, you're going to
- 14:15start to think and say, wait a minute,
- 14:16I keep doing this, but why am I
- 14:18doing this?
- 14:21That's an important thing.
- 14:24Number 21, make behavior better and easier to
- 14:29repeat.
- 14:30Do the opposite with positive habits.
- 14:32Reduce the barriers, prepare ahead, make the better
- 14:35choice easier to begin.
- 14:37Number 22, stop waiting to feel different before
- 14:41acting differently.
- 14:43That's just a procrastination game you're going to
- 14:48play.
- 14:48You may not feel ready right now or
- 14:52first.
- 14:53Sometimes action comes before emotion, and that's normal.
- 14:59Behave differently long enough and your feelings may
- 15:04eventually catch up.
- 15:06I think that's something, again, a lot of
- 15:08people don't do because they're scared about becoming
- 15:12uncomfortable.
- 15:13That's a real big one.
- 15:15They don't want to become uncomfortable, right?
- 15:19But it's a truth, guys.
- 15:20It's absolutely a truth, and it's something we
- 15:22need to be aware of.
- 15:24Number 23, new results require new repetitions.
- 15:30New repetitions, not doing the same things over
- 15:34and over again, right?
- 15:35We need to do something new.
- 15:38We know that if we do the same
- 15:39thing over and over again, we're going to
- 15:41get the same results.
- 15:43Just like Einstein said, doing the same thing
- 15:46over and over again isn't sad.
- 15:49Number 24, your identity changes through the evidence
- 15:54that shows up.
- 15:55Every time you follow through, you give yourself
- 15:59evidence about who you're becoming.
- 16:01Confidence grows when your actions support the story
- 16:05you're telling yourself.
- 16:07And you might say, John, I've been telling
- 16:09myself this story for a few weeks.
- 16:11It might take time for that story to
- 16:13change, right?
- 16:15You became who you were because of the
- 16:18story you were telling yourself before.
- 16:20I think that's a very important thing to
- 16:27understand.
- 16:28And if you don't understand that, then you're
- 16:30going to be like, oh my gosh, what
- 16:31am I supposed to do?
- 16:33You feel like you're locked in a gridlock,
- 16:36okay?
- 16:38And you can get out of this.
- 16:40But the question is, how, right?
- 16:43Every time you follow through, you give yourself
- 16:45evidence about who you're becoming, as I say.
- 16:49The confidence slowly grows.
- 16:51It doesn't happen overnight, folks.
- 16:53Let's be honest, right?
- 16:54It's not like I flip a light switch
- 16:56and suddenly, oh, I've got confidence.
- 16:57It doesn't work like that, right?
- 17:00It's a gradual progression.
- 17:03That's the truth.
- 17:04Number 25, give yourself proof that another pattern
- 17:11is possible.
- 17:14Once you show yourself that something else is
- 17:17possible or even probable, you're going to change.
- 17:22Don't demand a complete transformation immediately.
- 17:24That'll just frustrate you.
- 17:26Create one successful interruption, then another.
- 17:28Show yourself that the pattern can be changed
- 17:30and guess what?
- 17:31It will be.
- 17:32Number 26, don't confuse repetition with destiny.
- 17:36Something happening repeatedly doesn't mean it must happen
- 17:40forever.
- 17:41Patterns are powerful, but patterns can be interrupted,
- 17:45guys.
- 17:46And when they're interrupted, our life is going
- 17:49to change.
- 17:51Never underestimate one meaningful adjustment.
- 17:55Changing one repeated behavior can affect your health,
- 17:59your work, relationships, confidence, or the opportunities that
- 18:04are presented before you.
- 18:05I think that's something a lot of people
- 18:06miss.
- 18:07Number 28, stop predicting tomorrow from yesterday.
- 18:11So many people do.
- 18:12It's like, well, you know, I did this
- 18:13yesterday, so this should be different.
- 18:16No.
- 18:17Your past contains information, but it doesn't own
- 18:20your future.
- 18:21Yesterday only predicts tomorrow when you keep repeating
- 18:24yesterday over and over and over again.
- 18:26And you're like, why is this not changing?
- 18:29Why am I getting the same results?
- 18:31Because you're not changing, right?
- 18:34You may not want to hear that because
- 18:37you're like, well, you know, I want to
- 18:38stay comfy under my warm blanket or in
- 18:41my cool air conditioning.
- 18:44I want to be comfortable.
- 18:45Nothing wrong with being comfortable, but you need
- 18:47to get uncomfortable sometimes so you can grow.
- 18:50Number 29, you're not condemned to repeat yourself.
- 18:55You can learn.
- 18:56You can adapt.
- 18:57You can respond differently.
- 18:59You can change your environment, your habits, your
- 19:01preparation, and your choices.
- 19:05But why is it people don't?
- 19:08I just told you.
- 19:09People get so comfortable in the state which
- 19:12they're in, and they figure that, you know,
- 19:15I don't want to risk going somewhere else
- 19:19because maybe I'm not going to like it.
- 19:23Maybe I'm going to have to do something
- 19:25different.
- 19:26That's going to be hard for me to
- 19:28accept.
- 19:30Number 30, break the pattern before the pattern
- 19:33builds your future.
- 19:36Patterns happen, okay?
- 19:40We have good habits and we have bad
- 19:42habits, right?
- 19:43What we call bad habits are patterns that
- 19:45have happened of things we keep doing that
- 19:47we don't want to repeat.
- 19:48Good habits are patterns we're doing of things
- 19:51we want to repeat.
- 19:53That's truthful, guys.
- 19:55So break the pattern before the pattern builds
- 19:57your future.
- 19:59And you might feel a little lost.
- 20:00So this is the message I want you
- 20:02to carry with you today.
- 20:04Patterns don't remain isolated.
- 20:06You might think they do.
- 20:08Guess what they do, guys?
- 20:10They compound.
- 20:11They are cumulative.
- 20:19That's an important thing, guys.
- 20:28And that cumulative thing is something that a
- 20:30lot of people just don't get.
- 20:33And the reason they don't get it is
- 20:35because they don't think that one little change
- 20:37is to make a difference.
- 20:38And you're right.
- 20:39One little change tomorrow won't make a difference
- 20:41immediately, but it will gradually over time, okay?
- 20:47Repeat choice becomes a habit.
- 20:49Habit influences your direction.
- 20:51Your direction shapes your circumstances.
- 20:52And eventually you can now find yourself living
- 20:55inside a life built from thousands of decisions
- 20:58you barely noticed ever making.
- 21:01See, that's why our master weekly topic is
- 21:04your next level will demand a different you.
- 21:07Your next level, well, may not require you
- 21:10to become an entirely different person overnight.
- 21:12It may begin by becoming somebody who responds
- 21:15differently at one critical moment.
- 21:18Maybe you stop postponing something.
- 21:20Maybe you change your morning routine.
- 21:22Maybe you prepare instead of improvising.
- 21:25Maybe you stop returning to something that repeatedly
- 21:27fails.
- 21:29Maybe you finally recognize the trigger that keeps
- 21:32sending you backward.
- 21:34Whatever it is, don't attempt to change everything
- 21:37at once.
- 21:38Find one pattern, okay?
- 21:41Find one pattern.
- 21:44Study it carefully.
- 21:47Understand what triggers it.
- 21:49Understand what rewards it.
- 21:50Understand what environment supports it.
- 21:53Then go and interrupt it.
- 21:57And repeat the new behavior enough times that
- 22:00you're no longer merely trying something different.
- 22:03That's when change becomes powerful.
- 22:07You start building evidence that you're capable of
- 22:10another response.
- 22:11That evidence creates confidence.
- 22:14Confidence makes another better decision easier for us.
- 22:18And those decisions begin creating another pattern.
- 22:21That's how your direction changes, guys.
- 22:23So, if you're telling yourself, I'm stuck, I
- 22:27want you to challenge that statement, okay?
- 22:30Ask yourself this instead.
- 22:32What am I repeating?
- 22:34Because that question gives you somewhere to begin.
- 22:40You cannot always control everything happening around you.
- 22:43But when you identify something you're repeatedly doing
- 22:46that contributes to an outcome you don't want
- 22:48anymore, you can discover how to stop it
- 22:51by getting leverage against it.
- 22:54Use it.
- 22:56Ladies and gentlemen, if you don't know who
- 22:58I am by now, I'm John C.
- 22:59Morley.
- 23:00And this has been another amazing episode of
- 23:04the powerful inspirations for your life.
- 23:06The show that helps you become a better
- 23:08version of yourself.
- 23:10But you know, here's the thing, guys.
- 23:12You don't just watch a show or listen
- 23:14to a show and be like, okay, I
- 23:16got it.
- 23:16And now I can change my life.
- 23:18It takes time, right?
- 23:21The habit that you developed took time.
- 23:25You didn't notice what was going on while
- 23:27it was developing.
- 23:29But guess what happened?
- 23:31You woke up like, wait a minute, this
- 23:32changed.
- 23:33It changed because you gradually did something.
- 23:36So, you can affect that in another way,
- 23:39guys.
- 23:40You can affect that in another way.
- 23:42A way that will give you clarity, but
- 23:48a way that will give you control back
- 23:49over your life.
- 23:50Now, again, I'm going to tell you this.
- 23:52It's not going to be easy.
- 23:56Okay?
- 23:58It's not going to be easy.
- 24:00But I have faith in you guys and
- 24:01confidence that you guys can do it.
- 24:04You guys absolutely can do it.
- 24:08You can do it.
- 24:11But it's going to take you some time.
- 24:16It's going to take your belief.
- 24:22It's going to take your willingness to say,
- 24:26you know what?
- 24:27Maybe I didn't understand this, but maybe I
- 24:32could change something and that might change my
- 24:34outcome.
- 24:35It will, but it's not going to change
- 24:37it overnight, guys.
- 24:38That's the whole key.
- 24:38It won't change it overnight.
- 24:40So, your past doesn't have to become your
- 24:43future.
- 24:45Right?
- 24:45I think that's what we're saying.
- 24:47Your habits aren't your destiny.
- 24:51If you think they are, you don't realize
- 24:54what neuroplasticity is.
- 24:56The fact that we can change who we
- 24:57are and who we're becoming.
- 25:00Your patterns, ladies and gentlemen, aren't permanent.
- 25:03So, if you don't like something, don't sleep
- 25:05over it.
- 25:06They're not permanent, but you have to make
- 25:09the decision and choose to have that change.
- 25:13New results require consistent repetitions.
- 25:19Not doing it for one week, not doing
- 25:21it for maybe a month.
- 25:23You need to do it until it becomes
- 25:25part of you.
- 25:26I can't tell you how long it's going
- 25:28to take.
- 25:28Everybody is different.
- 25:29Every situation is different.
- 25:32New results require new repetitions.
- 25:37That's not hard to understand.
- 25:39What's hard is that it might feel uncomfortable
- 25:42doing it.
- 25:43In fact, it's gotta feel uncomfortable doing it.
- 25:45That's a given, guys.
- 25:46It's gonna feel uncomfortable and you're gonna be
- 25:48like, oh my gosh, what do I do
- 25:49now?
- 25:51Well, if you know that nothing worked in
- 25:54the past, why don't you change the way
- 25:56you're acting?
- 26:00But some people will be like, oh, I
- 26:02don't know if I want to do that.
- 26:04I don't know if I'm ready for it.
- 26:05I'm gonna wait till it feels right.
- 26:07Okay, you adapt that philosophy.
- 26:11You're never gonna do it because it's never
- 26:13gonna be a perfect time, never gonna be
- 26:15a perfect situation.
- 26:18You're gonna have to make the choice to
- 26:20do it now.
- 26:21And you can do it now.
- 26:24As I said, new results require new repetitions.
- 26:28This has been proven with science, guys.
- 26:30This is not something that just came out
- 26:32of thin air.
- 26:33This is something that has been studied for
- 26:35years and years and years and years.
- 26:38And you guys can do this, but it's
- 26:41gonna require you to become uncomfortable.
- 26:48It's gonna require you to become uncomfortable.
- 26:55It's gonna require you to become uncomfortable.
- 26:59And when you become uncomfortable, you're like, wait
- 27:01a minute, you know what?
- 27:01I actually get this now.
- 27:03I understand what's going on, but that's not
- 27:06gonna happen overnight, okay?
- 27:07So don't spend another year waiting for your
- 27:10life to mysteriously just miraculously change.
- 27:13Break the pattern before the pattern builds your
- 27:16future.
- 27:17And the thing is, people say to me,
- 27:18John, can I change?
- 27:21It's never too late to change, but here's
- 27:23the question.
- 27:24Here's the real truth.
- 27:26It's harder to change the longer the pattern
- 27:29has been within you.
- 27:30That's the truth, guys.
- 27:31So if the pattern's been in your system
- 27:34for a long time, you're not gonna change
- 27:36it overnight.
- 27:37If you just adapted this pattern recently, maybe
- 27:39you'll blow it away in a few days
- 27:41to a week.
- 27:42But if you've been using this pattern for
- 27:44a year or more, you're just not gonna
- 27:45change it overnight.
- 27:47And I think that's what scares people.
- 27:49People think that because I can't change in
- 27:52a day or I can't change in a
- 27:53week, that I can never change it.
- 27:56That's a bad attitude.
- 27:57You can do it, guys.
