- 1:25[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, as you can see, I'm faceless today if you're on Spotify or YouTube or you usually watch us.
- 1:30[SPEAKER_04]: I am faceless because, by morning, it's not gone as planned.
- 1:35[SPEAKER_04]: I'm on vacation here in Florida, which today does not seem like a vacation.
- 1:40[SPEAKER_04]: It definitely seems like a Monday here for me.
- 1:42[SPEAKER_04]: I can say, I'm super excited though, from a baseball fan perspective.
- 1:48[SPEAKER_04]: I kind of tuned out of baseball a little bit
- 1:54[SPEAKER_04]: Not been watching like I had early part of the season and man, these playoffs have been amazing to some of these games and I mean 15 inning games the other night I mean I had to give credit to MLB.
- 2:05[SPEAKER_04]: It's been a heck of a play also for and but on on below standpoint card wise I did actually make a purchase the other day too.
- 2:12[SPEAKER_04]: I made my first card purchase in several weeks So I guess we're gonna say I'm back when I get those vacation.
- 2:21[SPEAKER_04]: I'm gonna be back
- 2:22[SPEAKER_04]: Well, let's get, I was a huge guard.
- 2:24[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know boys.
- 2:25[SPEAKER_04]: There's a, there's a, it was not even worth mentioning on the chat.
- 2:28[SPEAKER_01]: It was like a, like a refractor based something from Nate George.
- 2:33[SPEAKER_04]: It was a red.
- 2:34[SPEAKER_01]: It was a red.
- 2:35[SPEAKER_01]: It had some color to it.
- 2:36[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it was a red.
- 2:37[SPEAKER_03]: It was a red-nate George.
- 2:38[SPEAKER_03]: It was my guess.
- 2:39[SPEAKER_01]: I would actually guess the same.
- 2:40[SPEAKER_01]: That's probably a fair.
- 2:41[SPEAKER_01]: There's actually one on Bids right now, I think.
- 2:43[SPEAKER_01]: Who?
- 2:44[SPEAKER_01]: Just saying?
- 2:45[SPEAKER_01]: Just saying?
- 2:45[SPEAKER_03]: Nature.
- 2:46[SPEAKER_01]: Nature.
- 2:47[SPEAKER_04]: Hey, George.
- 2:48[SPEAKER_04]: And tonight.
- 2:49[SPEAKER_04]: I am watching that one.
- 2:49[SPEAKER_04]: I may make part just number two.
- 2:51[SPEAKER_01]: That's the thing.
- 2:52[SPEAKER_01]: Bubba's coming out of quasi.
- 2:54[SPEAKER_01]: But is it nature?
- 2:55[SPEAKER_01]: Pursure.
- 2:55[SPEAKER_01]: Number two.
- 2:56[SPEAKER_04]: Not nature.
- 2:57[SPEAKER_04]: I think this would be my first night, George.
- 2:58[SPEAKER_04]: Find out by on this one.
- 3:00[SPEAKER_04]: That's me.
- 3:01[SPEAKER_04]: I'm still I am still have no Nate George.
- 3:05[SPEAKER_04]: I mean and I'll say that real quick we get going for everybody else is going as I did start to dabble back into the bone in release because my plan was different this time.
- 3:14[SPEAKER_04]: than the draft release.
- 3:15[SPEAKER_04]: I kind of waited this release out and I continue to wait it out.
- 3:19[SPEAKER_04]: I was really thinking with current kind of being softer on the market, a self and soft on the market, hand being softer on the market and multiple others, that this market release would have been
- 3:30[SPEAKER_04]: really lean and to my surprise looking in there, it's actually not.
- 3:35[SPEAKER_04]: It's actually pretty strong.
- 3:36[SPEAKER_04]: The price is I'm seeing.
- 3:37[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know the alls opinion, but it looks pretty strong, which was surprisingly meant.
- 3:42[SPEAKER_01]: There's definitely a lot of people in the space.
- 3:44[SPEAKER_01]: You know what I mean?
- 3:45[SPEAKER_01]: When you know a lot of people in the space and, you know, kind of their strategies and stuff and you still see what's going on.
- 3:50[SPEAKER_03]: there's a lot of hands in the cookie jar yeah I feel like I'm like kind of I don't know why I mean I have bought a few cards but I feel like I'm kind of like on the outside looking in and I don't want to use the word like wisdom comes to mind of like like I feel like I'm looking
- 4:08[SPEAKER_03]: at myself two years ago, almost like watching people overpay for certain cards in my opinion overpay.
- 4:14[SPEAKER_03]: And it's like I feel like I've gotten smarter from that respect, specifically with Bowman Chrome.
- 4:19[SPEAKER_03]: You know, you buy enough, you get torched at some point, especially with these guys.
- 4:23[SPEAKER_03]: And I'm like kind of just like on the Oscar, it's letting people overpay a little bit for cards that I might want to, you know, maybe it's
- 4:29[SPEAKER_03]: Maybe it'll come back and bite me in the ass.
- 4:31[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know.
- 4:32[SPEAKER_03]: Maybe it won't.
- 4:33[SPEAKER_03]: But there's there's also like a lot with all this new with the new parallels and stuff and like the new international refractors that are that are number to five that summer and scribes.
- 4:53[SPEAKER_03]: it was a strong market like it does surprise me but it doesn't at the same time like it doesn't because it's predictable that like this you know this agent that's two-way players going to have this market but it surprises me because he's not nearly not close to the best player in this product you know what I mean so that's the hobby yes well before yeah i think it's
- 5:21[SPEAKER_04]: Sure.
- 5:22[SPEAKER_03]: I think it's just people kind of being like, oh, it could be show weight 2.0 and then somebody signs in congee, people get all excited and think value value value and it doesn't necessarily, you know, like people just, I might opinion I think people just think could be show it 2.0, you know.
- 5:36[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I don't know if you guys saw the newspapers, but they just had a couple big car shows over in Asia.
- 5:42[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and Macau show.
- 5:44[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, a bunch of a bunch of kind of the usual, you know, US collectors, whenever they're, I mean, dude, what was interesting is I talked to some guys that were there.
- 5:53[SPEAKER_01]: Our buddy Nick was there and my new Roth was there and, you know, some other folks, they basically said that the Asian collectibles market is very different, like a lot of the folks in that culture, they collect because it's their collection, like, you know, they're
- 6:11[SPEAKER_01]: they have the gold kaboon run.
- 6:14[SPEAKER_01]: They have the, you know, whatever player they're after.
- 6:17[SPEAKER_01]: They're heavy and NBA, of course.
- 6:19[SPEAKER_01]: And so, you know, Showhaze kind of got and I think some crossover love to the baseball market.
- 6:24[SPEAKER_01]: So that could be interesting because that opens up an entire new demographic to get into the prospecting.
- 6:29[SPEAKER_03]: For sure.
- 6:30[SPEAKER_04]: Well, the only other thing that I will share and this is, we had mentioned it last week for the first time.
- 6:36[SPEAKER_04]: And I think it's healthy is for the first time when you look on all the baseball market even though we're in the playoffs and a lot of buzz around the playoffs.
- 6:45[SPEAKER_04]: for the first time that baseball arrows turned red for the first time.
- 6:49[SPEAKER_04]: As a whole, I think it's down 0.8%.
- 6:51[SPEAKER_04]: To go back to what I said last week, I think we're gonna see that number down 10%.
- 6:57[SPEAKER_04]: By the time we get to January, February, but then I, and this is just, if I was a meteorologist of the weather of the Bowman storm that is ahead, I think we're gonna be going down 10%.
- 7:10[SPEAKER_04]: And I think we're gonna go up 25% next spring.
- 7:13[SPEAKER_04]: That's my prediction.
- 7:13[SPEAKER_01]: You know me or I was just to never write.
- 7:15[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 7:16[SPEAKER_04]: That's what it's good to be.
- 7:17[SPEAKER_01]: But you are.
- 7:18[SPEAKER_04]: That's right.
- 7:19[SPEAKER_04]: It's good to be a Bowman meterologist.
- 7:21[SPEAKER_04]: I'm not saying I'm right.
- 7:22[SPEAKER_04]: That's my.
- 7:23[SPEAKER_04]: That's my.
- 7:24[SPEAKER_04]: I'll put.
- 7:25[SPEAKER_04]: I'll put it out there today.
- 7:26[SPEAKER_04]: I'm saying we're going to go downtown.
- 7:28[SPEAKER_04]: We're going to go up 25.
- 7:31[SPEAKER_04]: 20 to 25% up in the spring.
- 7:32[SPEAKER_04]: So what?
- 7:33[SPEAKER_04]: What's you got?
- 7:34[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'm I'm with you actually.
- 7:36[SPEAKER_01]: I think we're definitely going to see kind of a stalemate here in the all season.
- 7:39[SPEAKER_01]: The question is, is how how big is the rebound going to be?
- 7:42[SPEAKER_01]: That's that's the only piece that I don't necessarily know, but but yeah, I definitely think we're going to be flat for a moment and down for a moment.
- 7:48[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I'm not a meteorologist, so I'm going to let that one be.
- 7:52[SPEAKER_01]: All right, boys.
- 7:53[SPEAKER_01]: So I will say this.
- 7:54[SPEAKER_01]: Hamhouse is in the throws of it, man.
- 7:57[SPEAKER_01]: We have got my twins came down with pneumonia over the weekend.
- 8:01[SPEAKER_01]: And man, I got two sick kiddos on breathing treatments right now.
- 8:05[SPEAKER_01]: Just trying to get well.
- 8:06[SPEAKER_01]: So it has been a bit of a crazy moment.
- 8:09[SPEAKER_01]: We all traveled to
- 8:11[SPEAKER_01]: the card show in Charlotte, which by the way, shout out to Wes and his team with, you know, their promotion group that puts on the Charlotte card show.
- 8:20[SPEAKER_01]: That show, guys, no joke.
- 8:22[SPEAKER_01]: Gary, it was three times better than Atlanta.
- 8:25[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 8:27[SPEAKER_01]: it was, it wasn't quite a Dallas kind of feel, but I mean, getting that direction.
- 8:32[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, you had grand slam there, you had saffees there, you had bless representation there.
- 8:37[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it was, there was a, a lot of really nice, you know, folks in the room to kind of make some things happen.
- 8:44[SPEAKER_01]: We went up for the show and got up there and man, the kids got sick.
- 8:48[SPEAKER_01]: The twins got sick.
- 8:49[SPEAKER_01]: So a little mat and now we worked for like six hours on the show floor and then turned it right around and came home and then had to go get some chest X race for the boys.
- 8:57[SPEAKER_01]: So, you know, it's been a bit of a heavy moment for us, man, just processing through sick kids and trying to get through the day.
- 9:03[SPEAKER_01]: But on the card front, we were able to liquidate kind of our final bone that we were not going to hold into the off season, which was really nice.
- 9:13[SPEAKER_01]: We were able to trade some kind of blue and low numbered, I mean, low numbered, but like PSA nine stuff into an orange Kevin McGonagall, that was a nice pickup, and we were able to pick up a couple of nice Michael Jordan's heading into off season.
- 9:28[SPEAKER_01]: And then the card that I am probably most proud of in our collection right now, we picked up a 1933 Sport King's Gum Jim Thorpe, PSA four.
- 9:39[SPEAKER_01]: which is just, it's really cool, man.
- 9:41[SPEAKER_01]: Just to see it on the shelf, it's just super, super cool.
- 9:45[SPEAKER_01]: You know, with Thorpe certainly be in the first Native American win, you know, gold at the Olympics for USA, and just a legend that surrounds him with the mismatch shoes.
- 9:53[SPEAKER_01]: And, you know, my dad even said, dude, Jim Thorpe was Bo Jackson before.
- 9:57[SPEAKER_01]: Bo Jackson was ever born and he was just a great athlete.
- 10:01[SPEAKER_01]: So that was super cool man to pick that card up, but other than that man, yeah, a little Matt and I, we've been kind of doing the same thing looking at for opportunity within the space and just sitting and almost like current like you said, I will say this, I think to see those are aging like fine wine.
- 10:16[SPEAKER_01]: We just get better with age, baby.
- 10:17[SPEAKER_01]: We just get smarter and you get better with age.
- 10:20[SPEAKER_01]: That's just part of the, that's just part of the process.
- 10:22[SPEAKER_00]: That's, that's it for us.
- 10:23[SPEAKER_00]: What about you, Karen?
- 10:24[SPEAKER_03]: Well, I don't know about that because I, you know, the day I cough so hard.
- 10:29[SPEAKER_03]: I was sick for like a week and I cough so hard at that I blew my back out.
- 10:35[SPEAKER_03]: So, I don't know about that age comment thing.
- 10:37[SPEAKER_03]: Welcome to Forty.
- 10:38[SPEAKER_03]: And I, yeah, exactly, I've had back issues like I had surgery in 2019 and, you know, this is like unrelated to that and I want you to have back issues you have in forever.
- 10:48[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, I was just coughing too hard standing up and I like, it's, it's hard for me to get up now.
- 10:53[SPEAKER_03]: I'm like, few days ago.
- 10:54[SPEAKER_04]: Are you in a wheelchair?
- 10:55[SPEAKER_04]: Are you in a wheelchair right now?
- 10:57[SPEAKER_03]: No, I'm not in a wheelchair, but like I'm like an old man getting up, like getting up from the toilet.
- 11:02[SPEAKER_03]: Oh my God.
- 11:03[SPEAKER_03]: Forget it.
- 11:05[SPEAKER_03]: You need some rails.
- 11:06[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it's really bad.
- 11:08[SPEAKER_03]: Like I could use a cane.
- 11:11[SPEAKER_04]: But your wife is just waiting on you hand and foot right now.
- 11:13[SPEAKER_04]: You're like a king man.
- 11:14[SPEAKER_03]: Nah, she's not waiting on shit dude.
- 11:16[SPEAKER_03]: She's like, she's like tough and up, tough and up.
- 11:19[SPEAKER_03]: Stop complaining.
- 11:20[SPEAKER_03]: I got plenty to do than deal with you.
- 11:22[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 11:23[SPEAKER_03]: From the card front, I've I've made a few purchases, a couple trades, nothing crazy.
- 11:29[SPEAKER_03]: You know, with chrome.
- 11:30[SPEAKER_03]: I'm kind of just like I'm over chrome kind of.
- 11:32[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know if I'm gonna
- 11:34[SPEAKER_03]: buy more.
- 11:34[SPEAKER_03]: Maybe I will maybe I won't.
- 11:35[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know.
- 11:36[SPEAKER_03]: There's again no players and like that are just doing it for me and I'm just going to kind of at this point way to the either I see something that is a catness opportunity or I'm just going to wait out the market until it until it crashes even more from this 25 Chrome pricing perspective at least because it will they've already started to as you can see like healing and paying the purples.
- 11:58[SPEAKER_03]: I'm not that I'm buying purples, but they were doing I did hit one.
- 12:02[SPEAKER_03]: They were doing it 400 when they hit it and now they're doing like a hundred and thirty bucks So like crash their crashing big time, you know, so I'll just wait that out.
- 12:09[SPEAKER_01]: Well, well, that said boys Before we dive into this three kings thing which this is gonna take up a lot of margin I just wanted you guys to comment on the mic trout thing because it's I still look back on that and I had people that don't listen to our podcast at all
- 12:23[SPEAKER_01]: You know, just popping in, just going, man, that was phenomenal.
- 12:26[SPEAKER_01]: Like, current, what are your thoughts on it?
- 12:27[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I think it was a surreal moment to be able to have my trout on, you know, like I, I am fortunate enough to, you know, consider myself friends with Mike at this point, and it's still surreal to me that I get to talk cars and baseball with him on a daily basis.
- 12:46[SPEAKER_03]: And
- 12:47[SPEAKER_03]: Almost kind of become immune to it, but like when you realize that we're able to have him on our podcast, which, you know, we're 43 episodes in now, you know, I'm proud of us for being able to, you know, accomplish what we've accomplished and we're not, you know, we're not where we want to be yet, but we're just having fun, right, but like we were able to have on Mike trout on this show and.
- 13:09[SPEAKER_03]: I think that's quite an accomplishment for us three to be able to, you know, have him on and have a successful interview with him for of a guy that doesn't do long format interviews like that.
- 13:20[SPEAKER_03]: So it was really cool experience to kind of get inside Mike's brain.
- 13:25[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, there was absolutely one of the coolest moments that I think I've had on the show, no doubt about it.
- 13:32[SPEAKER_04]: And then really like my sports life to be able to talk to Mike Trout in talk baseball with him about about really to game a baseball in the swing and how the game is played.
- 13:43[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, to me,
- 13:44[SPEAKER_04]: Just really just baseball gold there that he shared with all of our listeners and something that I can go back on with my kids for a long long time and and go back and just re listen to because he shared so many nuggets about.
- 13:59[SPEAKER_04]: not only you can apply to baseball about life in general, um, I really like I told I think I told both of you this.
- 14:05[SPEAKER_04]: I don't do that often in moments and time when you're doing something really cool.
- 14:09[SPEAKER_04]: You don't really get to enjoy it in that moment like you should and somewhere near the end of that interview, it just, I really just kind of got giddy.
- 14:17[SPEAKER_01]: And was just like, man, this is how cool is this that that don't we're doing that so huge thanks to Mike for for coming on the show man just so surreal I think all three of us you know Baba from the baseball perspective like me with the kids just pinched myself and you know for you current is a friend that was just super super cool man so really cool again shout out to Mike and
- 14:37[SPEAKER_01]: really appreciate his time.
- 14:39[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 14:39[SPEAKER_01]: Now let's transition current into something that is, uh, you know, a hot topic for some, within the hobby space.
- 14:47[SPEAKER_01]: And again, I'm kind of vicariously living this through you as a friend and an observer and all this different stuff.
- 14:53[SPEAKER_01]: So that said, I will let you introduce this concept of the three kings.
- 14:58[SPEAKER_01]: And then what we have done is we have actually clipped some of the responses on social media so that we can talk about them as a podcast, as a show.
- 15:08[SPEAKER_01]: Because quite frankly, dude, this is absolutely blown my mind.
- 15:12[SPEAKER_01]: So why don't you kind of tell our listeners what's going on, what went down and introduce the three kings concept, and then we will go from there.
- 15:20[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, so top's introduced the program and what the program is is if you are to collect a player's top three cards, they're Bowman for Super, their debut patch and their top score rookie super, you basically unlock.
- 15:36[SPEAKER_03]: You know, a redemption will call it of the three kings card, which is basically the card that encompasses all three of those cards from an image perspective and it's a one of one and it's signed and it could be inscribed in this case with junior minds juniors inscribed it to turn the king and on the back it has a nice little explanation of what it was now in my case.
- 16:00[SPEAKER_03]: You know, one was kind of the launch of the program, per se, right?
- 16:04[SPEAKER_03]: Like you could call it the marketing piece to introduce it.
- 16:08[SPEAKER_03]: Now, there's been a lot of hate on it.
- 16:11[SPEAKER_03]: And a lot of comments, a lot of support from people that I know, but also a lot of hate and on tops, which will hate on any think tops, could cure cancer and they'll hate on it.
- 16:18[SPEAKER_03]: But that, you know, this is collusion that they told me about this and
- 16:24[SPEAKER_03]: about this program prior in a day later, you know, I already got the card.
- 16:29[SPEAKER_03]: Well, I mean, use your heads.
- 16:31[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, this is that's my style of collecting.
- 16:34[SPEAKER_03]: Like I've had these the pieces to Cheerio and Caminero for some time now, way before this program was probably even a thought in anybody.
- 16:44[SPEAKER_03]: It tops his head and
- 16:46[SPEAKER_03]: I think they've probably made notice of my collection and how I collect in those top three cards and and somebody came up with that idea.
- 16:56[SPEAKER_03]: And I got to call sometime in mid September, early to mid September saying, hey, knowing I had these three cards, hey, we want to, we want to get you out to Tampa.
- 17:07[SPEAKER_03]: Can you get there on Tuesday?
- 17:09[SPEAKER_03]: And we'll get you out there, said, sure, I had no idea it was going on.
- 17:12[SPEAKER_03]: I didn't know about this program.
- 17:14[SPEAKER_03]: I didn't know what was going to happen.
- 17:15[SPEAKER_03]: But I made myself available.
- 17:17[SPEAKER_03]: They said, bring the three cars of Junior Caminaro with you.
- 17:21[SPEAKER_03]: Fund.
- 17:21[SPEAKER_03]: So that this was kind of, I mean, that is why I got this when it was announced or before it was announced is because this was kind of like the marketing piece clearly too.
- 17:32[SPEAKER_03]: You know, introduce the program.
- 17:34[SPEAKER_03]: There's been a lot of, I guess, controversy on the program and that it's for rich collectors only and high in collectors and how to not reward the normal collector.
- 17:44[SPEAKER_03]: But most importantly, as some of you, I just want to address real quick, and then we can dive into it as some of you, how to probably saw from from my Instagram story last week, there was some.
- 17:54[SPEAKER_03]: You know, I'm Jewish.
- 17:55[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, from New York.
- 17:57[SPEAKER_03]: I'm a Jew from New York.
- 17:58[SPEAKER_03]: Am I a religious Jew?
- 17:59[SPEAKER_03]: No, I'm not.
- 18:00[SPEAKER_03]: I'm not conservative.
- 18:01[SPEAKER_03]: I'm not, you know, I'm a form Jew, but there was a guy woke up to a comment the other day.
- 18:07[SPEAKER_03]: Somebody saying something anti-Semitic and, you know, I want to be absolutely clear that there's no place for that in the hobby.
- 18:14[SPEAKER_03]: The hobby is built on passion.
- 18:17[SPEAKER_03]: Um, the nostalgia stories and connection and it's supposed to it brings people together from all different walks of life.
- 18:23[SPEAKER_03]: The moment hate enters the picture, whether it's anti-Semitism or racism or any kind of discrimination.
- 18:29[SPEAKER_03]: It doesn't just hurt individuals, but it poisons our entire community here.
- 18:33[SPEAKER_03]: And if you do truly love this hobby.
- 18:36[SPEAKER_03]: Then you have a responsibility to protect the people in it.
- 18:40[SPEAKER_03]: That means calling out the hate when you see it.
- 18:42[SPEAKER_03]: It means creating spaces that everyone feels are safe and welcome and respected.
- 18:47[SPEAKER_03]: You know, we don't gate-keep based on identity.
- 18:50[SPEAKER_03]: We celebrate diversity.
- 18:51[SPEAKER_03]: We should celebrate diversity, I should say.
- 18:53[SPEAKER_03]: And that's what unites us to love for the love for cards and the memories that we have growing up collecting.
- 18:59[SPEAKER_03]: So anyone spreading that kind of hate?
- 19:02[SPEAKER_03]: Towards anybody in this hobby, you know, I'd say my message to you is that you're not part of this community and everyone else Let's keep being positive and and showing up for each other and supporting each other because there was a lot of support, you know, not not that I needed it, but it's appreciative and there was a lot of support for when that eight came my way.
- 19:19[SPEAKER_03]: I'm not I'm not saying I'm a victim here, right, but let's just make this a space that we're, you know, we're all proud to be a part of.
- 19:26[SPEAKER_03]: There shouldn't be any hate in this space so I just wanted to get that out of the way and say that and I appreciate everybody support.
- 19:33[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we want to give you the space to be able to share that too, man.
- 19:36[SPEAKER_01]: Like, you know, it's important for you to be able to have a voice in this as well.
- 19:40[SPEAKER_01]: And, you know, certainly respect your your thoughts there.
- 19:43[SPEAKER_01]: And, you know, definitely something for us to to dive into and chat.
- 19:46[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, that's what this podcast is about, right?
- 19:48[SPEAKER_01]: Is creating an opportunity to, you know, share in the hobby together and learn from it.
- 19:52[SPEAKER_01]: And be able to address things that come up like this.
- 19:58[SPEAKER_04]: about, you know, one of the comments that came in, um, you know, in the way that it makes me feel not only because carrying you're a great friend of mine and just a great human being, but I just, it made me just want to meet that guy at a dark alley somewhere.
- 20:13[SPEAKER_04]: It really did.
- 20:14[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, I just had all this anger rolling through me when you see this crap because what I don't
- 20:21[SPEAKER_04]: Why is somebody out there and you really have to think about it for that moment and go why are these people this unhappy that they have to go and attack somebody that really did nothing in current space here that it absolutely nothing whatsoever and and it totally blows my mind when you see people like this it really really does because it's it's.
- 20:43[SPEAKER_04]: it's absolutely pointless.
- 20:45[SPEAKER_04]: And, Colonel, I'm just, you know, definitely hammering out here to support you through this.
- 20:50[SPEAKER_04]: And I just, uh, I don't understand it.
- 20:52[SPEAKER_04]: I really don't understand to hate when there's a guy that all current has really done in this space is been an ambassador to this space.
- 20:59[SPEAKER_04]: And so we're here to support you man through this.
- 21:01[SPEAKER_04]: And anybody that wants to challenge that, just go ahead and message me as well.
- 21:06[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I appreciate it, guests.
- 21:07[SPEAKER_01]: You know, the interesting piece, too, is guys is, you know, one of the things that I'll say kind of like universally is like the emotional instability of the world right now is really really really really eye-opening like there is just a massive amount of emotional instability on behalf of many many people.
- 21:24[SPEAKER_01]: And, you know, there's all types of things, whether you can blame, you know, the cell phone thing, right?
- 21:30[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, you're at a distance and so it's easy for you to hide behind a screen and throw this shade out there blah, blah, blah.
- 21:35[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I've gotten accustomed to blasting people on, you know, X or Twitter or Facebook.
- 21:40[SPEAKER_01]: So now I'm comfortable that I can go say whatever I want wherever I want.
- 21:43[SPEAKER_01]: But like,
- 21:44[SPEAKER_01]: These people are making these comments like publicly, you know what I mean?
- 21:47[SPEAKER_01]: And it's just crazy because it just shows that one of the things is that I've always taught my boys and tried to live by this myself.
- 21:54[SPEAKER_01]: Like if I am triggered emotionally, if I'm upset, the very first thing that I need to do is look in the mirror and ask myself, why does this bother me so much?
- 22:04[SPEAKER_01]: And again, it seems to be that a lot of this is rooted in jealousy, you know, in greed or anger and just pure visceral reactiveness.
- 22:14[SPEAKER_01]: And it's crazy.
- 22:15[SPEAKER_01]: So what I wanted to do is I actually screenshot it.
- 22:19[SPEAKER_01]: Some of the comments on a public post that we can kind of go through here together So for those that are watching this you'll be able to see it on the screen for those that aren't I'm gonna read some of these comments, but this is the kind of stuff that happens So I'm gonna play this and we'll be able to see it together.
- 22:35[SPEAKER_01]: We'll comment on it.
- 22:36[SPEAKER_01]: All right So this is junior Presenting this to current and here's the comments So you got to own $50,000 worth of cards to get a thousand dollar card
- 22:44[SPEAKER_01]: Some CEO tech bro podcast investor bro wins again, young people reply to that guy and said, do you say that to every time you see someone in a sports car drive and this is my said, did they make out later?
- 22:57[SPEAKER_01]: And then somebody said, it'd be nice if they tried to do something like this for the average collector.
- 23:02[SPEAKER_01]: If you own three supers of one player, you're spending a ton of money on whatever to get to the wax.
- 23:08[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, tops, I have all these rookie cards make a program for me,
- 23:12[SPEAKER_01]: What an awkward encounter.
- 23:14[SPEAKER_01]: At least pretend they were your kids.
- 23:16[SPEAKER_01]: This just rubs this in the face of other collectors, you know, this is precisely What the hobby doesn't need.
- 23:24[SPEAKER_01]: Dude wants to totally sleep with junior.
- 23:26[SPEAKER_01]: What a heartwarming story about a rich guy who already had three cards that most collectors have no shot at It's it's it's it's it's it's on it's crazy.
- 23:36[SPEAKER_01]: It's crazy and it goes on and on and I was pretty like I edited some of this stuff out.
- 23:40[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah
- 23:42[SPEAKER_01]: And, you know, some people are blaming this on the whole thing that happened with schemes, right?
- 23:47[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, blah, blah, blah.
- 23:48[SPEAKER_01]: So boys, here's the thing is, let's talk about that.
- 23:52[SPEAKER_01]: Like, let's literally talk about this.
- 23:54[SPEAKER_03]: One of the comments that I,
- 23:57[SPEAKER_03]: put that out.
- 23:57[SPEAKER_03]: It was an Instagram collusion.
- 23:59[SPEAKER_03]: Curns like feels like a top industry plant crazy how we had all these cards before tops announced this is King promo right?
- 24:08[SPEAKER_03]: And he little birdies whispered this was coming to him and his confidence.
- 24:12[SPEAKER_03]: I guess so would have been cool if this card went to an actual fan.
- 24:17[SPEAKER_03]: I saw a lot of that.
- 24:18[SPEAKER_03]: like an actual collector or an actual fan.
- 24:21[SPEAKER_03]: It's one thing to like have an opinion on the program itself, right?
- 24:26[SPEAKER_03]: And say like, I don't like this program here's why, right?
- 24:30[SPEAKER_03]: And like a succinct like non-crazy way.
- 24:33[SPEAKER_03]: But I will say, I know that there's going to be jealousy and haters out there,
- 24:43[SPEAKER_03]: higher end collectors right but it doesn't mean that there's other programs that they have better geared towards lower end collectors or mid and collectors and how do you know that this is not the beginning for another program that's going to come for the lower end collectors or the mid and collectors.
- 25:01[SPEAKER_03]: How do you know that there's not another program?
- 25:03[SPEAKER_03]: in the works for completing a rainbow, like how do you know that?
- 25:07[SPEAKER_03]: You're just jumping the conclusions.
- 25:09[SPEAKER_03]: Now, this program specifically, I don't understand how it changes anything for anybody.
- 25:14[SPEAKER_03]: All it is is incremental added value to these cards.
- 25:18[SPEAKER_03]: I get the argument of it's going to increase the box prices.
- 25:23[SPEAKER_03]: This program alone is not increasing box prices.
- 25:25[SPEAKER_03]: For the guy that breaks and can't necessarily afford to buy these single cards, how it helps you is, maybe you hit one of these cards, and somebody has two of three of the three kings, and you could hold it hostage for $100,000, and if they want to pay it, great.
- 25:40[SPEAKER_03]: You're the lucky one that gets to hold it hostage.
- 25:42[SPEAKER_03]: Like, it doesn't change anything.
- 25:44[SPEAKER_03]: It just, like, I just don't, I don't understand it.
- 25:47[SPEAKER_01]: How it affects their world.
- 25:48[SPEAKER_01]: So, Bubba, you have any thoughts on this?
- 25:51[SPEAKER_01]: I have a few questions, but we can just dive in.
- 25:54[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, I think at the end of the day, and this is a phenomenal in the season one guys.
- 25:59[SPEAKER_04]: And I think that's really this is a great moment to kind of hit on this.
- 26:03[SPEAKER_04]: So we've done 40, just a 43rd episode.
- 26:05[SPEAKER_04]: We've done 43 episodes.
- 26:08[SPEAKER_04]: And we started as three buddies that wanted to talk a have a show that talks sports cards and share a little bit about our story and what we how we do it and who we are and what we are.
- 26:18[SPEAKER_04]: We've been very open with that every week or 43 weeks about our life who we are.
- 26:24[SPEAKER_04]: What we've done at times been so open that it's actually cost us money and it's cost us deals and it's cost us things in the process and what I can say now through 43 weeks and it's something that was only going to make us stronger as we
- 26:38[SPEAKER_04]: is that we've all now seen.
- 26:39[SPEAKER_04]: I've seen it and y'all know exactly what I'm talking about the two of y'all in the show.
- 26:43[SPEAKER_04]: You'll see what happened to me in the last 43 episodes and people targeted me on the show.
- 26:48[SPEAKER_04]: Em, you got you saw the backlash of what happened with the the curry card and what happens in that community and now here it is on current and the reality is boys and this is something that just hopefully this is what we do for ourselves through this and hopefully some listener
- 27:05[SPEAKER_04]: all those guys that made those posts that are in their mom's basement that are unhappy with their life absolutely not are we going to impact them most likely not but what I will say this I hope that's impact somebody's luck because I have seen this now in my 39 years before the in May that when you covet somebody else or you covet something else that somebody has it will destroy you.
- 27:27[SPEAKER_04]: and I've seen it at time and time again.
- 27:30[SPEAKER_04]: It's one of the 10 commandments and it says it in the Bible, you shall not covet your neighbors.
- 27:34[SPEAKER_04]: Well, house, you shall not covet your neighbor's wife, or his male female servant is Alcher's donkey.
- 27:39[SPEAKER_04]: And in this case, that's a hundred percent what it's coming from, Kern, is that you've built this name and the hobby on stuff that you've worked on.
- 27:47[SPEAKER_04]: You know, anybody else could have said, you know what?
- 27:50[SPEAKER_04]: I want to be the superfactor King.
- 27:51[SPEAKER_04]: I want to be the guy that wants to come in and I want to but you are the one that had the plan that had the decision and that people are now trying to mimic and all this really comes from as someone coveting something that you have.
- 28:05[SPEAKER_04]: It's about the end of the day all I can say is that from here on we just have to block the noise in this space because there is so much trash when you go to any car show just look around.
- 28:16[SPEAKER_04]: There are some really, really good people trying to get in it
- 28:21[SPEAKER_04]: And what you got to do in this space is you got to live and you got to surround yourself with the people that we want to surround ourselves with because there are a lot of flees in this space that want to want to hop on.
- 28:32[SPEAKER_04]: So that's pretty much all I got to say about it.
- 28:34[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, good stuff, man.
- 28:35[SPEAKER_01]: You know, one of the things that my parents always said to me is argue with the fool and onlookers can't tell a difference.
- 28:43[SPEAKER_01]: and another mentor of mine gave me a picture one time he said you know imagine if there's this little chihuahua behind a fence and it's just barking at you you know you just keep walking you don't sit there and look at the chihuahua and argue with the chihuahua and tell the chihuahua how small and stupid it is you just keep walking and so you know in this case you know you've got a lot of that going on like you said boys when you put yourself out there when you put yourself in the spotlight
- 29:06[SPEAKER_01]: you know, you create a bull's eye situation and people are going to want to target that and they're going to attack and all that kind of stuff.
- 29:12[SPEAKER_01]: And that's part of it like whatever, if people want to spend it from doing that, I don't have energy for that.
- 29:16[SPEAKER_01]: But here is it, here's an honest question.
- 29:18[SPEAKER_01]: Is an honest question for our listeners?
- 29:20[SPEAKER_01]: Is an honest question for you three?
- 29:21[SPEAKER_01]: Why are you even in this hobby?
- 29:23[SPEAKER_01]: Why are you even in the hobby?
- 29:24[SPEAKER_01]: Why are you doing this?
- 29:25[SPEAKER_01]: If it makes you this mad, why are you doing it?
- 29:28[SPEAKER_01]: If it creates this must angst and negative
- 29:35[SPEAKER_01]: really look at yourself in the mirror and say, like, why am I doing this?
- 29:38[SPEAKER_01]: And one of the things I'm excited about as we head into season two with the podcast, I think we're going to focus a little bit more on backstories and what got us in and a little bit more of a personal side to, you know, this and some of our interviews and stuff and like, you know, the thing is to think that, you know, somebody who sells cards shouldn't be in the hobby, like, that's a fold out there.
- 29:58[SPEAKER_01]: There are
- 30:03[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, okay, who wrote that rule?
- 30:06[SPEAKER_01]: Is that in, you know, page 25 of the hobby handbook that you wrote?
- 30:11[SPEAKER_01]: You know what I mean?
- 30:11[SPEAKER_01]: Did you share that publicly?
- 30:13[SPEAKER_01]: But my point is, is everybody has all of these little new aren't ideologies about the way that they approach their collection.
- 30:21[SPEAKER_01]: But this is a hobby, you know what I mean?
- 30:23[SPEAKER_01]: I'm gonna say one more thing is, I raced triathlons for five years.
- 30:28[SPEAKER_01]: Don't look like it now, but I used to, and I was in pretty good shape,
- 30:33[SPEAKER_01]: And there were people that literally would race it just to finish just for fun, right?
- 30:40[SPEAKER_01]: There were people that wanted to be the most competitive and qualified for this and this and this.
- 30:44[SPEAKER_01]: And in that community didn't look around and shame other people for whatever reason they got into the hobby for.
- 30:51[SPEAKER_01]: You know, the only thing was, is, hey, don't cheat when you do it, right?
- 30:55[SPEAKER_01]: Do it honestly, do it respectfully, put your time in, work hard.
- 31:00[SPEAKER_01]: Don't go, he beat me because he weighs 20 pounds less than that.
- 31:03[SPEAKER_01]: Whatever, man, like, you know, that's kind of like my thought here is just really dig deep and look at yourself in the mirror and think about why you got into it in the first place.
- 31:13[SPEAKER_01]: And if it's not bringing you joy, maybe it's time to move on.
- 31:16[SPEAKER_03]: So I think one of the things to answer your question, you know, one of the big first things that comes to my mind is the community is it keeps me in here, you know, like our the small community of people that I and in touch with on a daily basis, including you guys, but another smaller group that that.
- 31:37[SPEAKER_03]: keeps me in here.
- 31:38[SPEAKER_03]: Like I talk to you guys and a smaller group more than I talk to anybody outside of my family, you know, and that's what's enjoyable about it to me about talking about the market.
- 31:50[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, I love collecting cards and I love sports and I love being able to watch who I'm collecting, but being being a collector and wanting the value of your cards to go up can both
- 32:04[SPEAKER_03]: If you don't want the cards that you're collecting to go up in value, you're an idiot, like, I'm sorry, I can't help you.
- 32:11[SPEAKER_03]: Like, if you want them to just sit there and go down in value or you don't care, like, okay, fine, there's nothing wrong with collecting, but wanting your cards to also go up in value.
- 32:21[SPEAKER_03]: There's nothing wrong with it.
- 32:23[SPEAKER_03]: It doesn't mean that you are less of a collector than anybody or anything like that.
- 32:27[SPEAKER_03]: You know, the other thing that I always
- 32:32[SPEAKER_03]: Of course, you have money.
- 32:33[SPEAKER_03]: You could, you know, if I had that money, I could, I could have all those superz as well.
- 32:37[SPEAKER_03]: Guess what?
- 32:38[SPEAKER_03]: You can't.
- 32:38[SPEAKER_03]: I promise you you can't.
- 32:40[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I promise you you cannot.
- 32:42[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, I have the financial means to be able to make that happen, but I also put work into.
- 32:49[SPEAKER_03]: get acquiring each of those cards.
- 32:52[SPEAKER_03]: And for me, when I say work, it means acquiring them at the right price because I do want them to go up in value, right?
- 32:59[SPEAKER_03]: Like I'm building relationships with breakers, with individuals, I am getting them from the ground up like I'm not just buying a top of market if that card even does come available.
- 33:09[SPEAKER_03]: Like I'm seeking these things out.
- 33:11[SPEAKER_03]: So I'm not saying it's hard work, but like I put time into it.
- 33:14[SPEAKER_03]: You can't just go out there and buy everything you want
- 33:20[SPEAKER_03]: that's what I'm trying to say.
- 33:21[SPEAKER_04]: Everybody uses the word the hobby.
- 33:22[SPEAKER_04]: It's actually should be called the business because it's a business.
- 33:25[SPEAKER_04]: And in the business world, it's nobody.
- 33:27[SPEAKER_04]: You can have all the opinions you want in the business world.
- 33:29[SPEAKER_04]: But the bottom line is you cannot.
- 33:33[SPEAKER_04]: It's somebody else's decision.
- 33:34[SPEAKER_04]: Current spent his money.
- 33:35[SPEAKER_04]: I spend my money hand.
- 33:36[SPEAKER_04]: You spend your money.
- 33:37[SPEAKER_04]: And when we buy it and when we sell it is completely our decision.
- 33:41[SPEAKER_04]: Whether we take a loss or we make a gain, it's completely art decision.
- 33:44[SPEAKER_04]: When we make a great buyer, a horrible buy, it's completely art decision.
- 33:47[SPEAKER_04]: And in all these other cronies that want to go out there and have an opinion up, they can do that.
- 33:51[SPEAKER_04]: They can go on their message boards and do that, but it's not changing the fact.
- 33:56[SPEAKER_04]: that you're still your decision, how you collect and when you sell and when you wanna sell because it is a business, it's not a club, it's a business.
- 34:06[SPEAKER_04]: If it was a card club and you enjoy that card club and you say you're never gonna sell said card because you're in the club, that's different.
- 34:14[SPEAKER_04]: This is a business and everything that we're doing.
- 34:17[SPEAKER_04]: Now, the difference is we all do it because we also want to have fun, right?
- 34:22[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, but the reality is so many people now have made this their life, their livelihood.
- 34:28[SPEAKER_04]: This is not just, you know, I mean, look at the amount of people at card shows.
- 34:32[SPEAKER_04]: That's what they do every single weekend that are, that are not only just the people that are buying and selling these cards, but the sell the products that are in the, that are in the business.
- 34:44[SPEAKER_04]: business now.
- 34:45[SPEAKER_04]: Mo, I mean, when Fanatic's got in this, it was already huge.
- 34:48[SPEAKER_04]: It's just gotten bigger and bigger and it's not stopping.
- 34:51[SPEAKER_04]: And so the people that have been around for 30 years that are looking for the old boys club that's been there, the days are done.
- 34:57[SPEAKER_04]: And if they want to still live in the old boys club, they can.
- 35:00[SPEAKER_04]: But the new day is it's a business in the people that are the smartest and that are the sharpest will win.
- 35:06[SPEAKER_01]: You know, there's something to be said for tradition, right?
- 35:10[SPEAKER_01]: have been or the way things are and like there are certain values that don't change right integrity being one of them you know but everything changes man the nature of the world is changing you know there was a constituency of people who probably raised a lot of hell
- 35:25[SPEAKER_01]: that there were cars on the streets instead of horses back in 1902 and they're like, I have never getting into these stupid automobiles.
- 35:33[SPEAKER_01]: They're just going to get in the world and I'm going to keep riding my horse.
- 35:36[SPEAKER_01]: You know what I mean?
- 35:37[SPEAKER_01]: The reality is, as you've got to be willing to kind of adapt a little bit.
- 35:41[SPEAKER_01]: and understand that the market is changing.
- 35:43[SPEAKER_01]: The hobby, the market, the business, as Bubba said, and it is attracting a certain demographic, and that is a higher net worth person who's looking to secure assets in something that they can follow.
- 35:56[SPEAKER_01]: And whether or not you like it or not, that doesn't change the reality of it.
- 36:00[SPEAKER_01]: And then there are businesses that are being built around helping people acquire those cards.
- 36:04[SPEAKER_01]: And so you can sit here and you can blame rich people or you can blame re-packers or you can blame breaks or you can blame all this type of stuff.
- 36:11[SPEAKER_01]: It doesn't change the fact that like that's where the state of things are.
- 36:14[SPEAKER_01]: So you either have to adapt and figure out how you, you know, work your way into that.
- 36:20[SPEAKER_01]: Listen dude, there are people who go around the diagram yard sales and they pick up collections.
- 36:25[SPEAKER_01]: They sell them for a dollar on eBay.
- 36:27[SPEAKER_01]: Good for them.
- 36:28[SPEAKER_01]: They enjoy doing that, right?
- 36:30[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I'm like, I'm like, I'm stupid.
- 36:32[SPEAKER_01]: They don't turn around and call somebody stupid for buying a card for whatever.
- 36:36[SPEAKER_01]: Five figures, six figures, et cetera.
- 36:38[SPEAKER_01]: Dude, it's a long conversation, but I think, well, I like what you said earlier, man, like we put ourselves out there this year, and while we have seen tremendous success on this show, you know, being able to interview what Evan Carter, Travis Secora,
- 36:52[SPEAKER_01]: Connor Griffin, Jack Caglion, you know, and then lead up to, you know, trout.
- 36:58[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it's just, you know, among others, you know, Mike may hand coming on, you know, it's been incredible, but with that has come some of this nonsense, you know, and so it's not going to deter us.
- 37:08[SPEAKER_01]: It's not going to stop us, but we're also not going to be afraid of having honest conversations about it.
- 37:12[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, no, and I don't want this to seem like a bitch fest like I'm sitting there soaking an upset like I look I'm I'm smart enough to know that I there's jealous people out there and I can also block that out right But the reason for the discussion was it seemed like an abnormal amount and it was the it was the comment that I posted on my Instagram That really kind of figure this subject right and it kind of took it to a different level because it was like this really cool experience for me
- 37:39[SPEAKER_03]: And it was kind of sowered by that comment, you know, because it kind of was like, like, there's no need for that.
- 37:45[SPEAKER_03]: No need for that.
- 37:46[SPEAKER_03]: And yeah, that's kind of what triggered this conversation.
- 37:48[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 37:49[SPEAKER_01]: Also to shout out to Rhett louder, I wanted to give a shout out to the guy I was naming the guy's been on the podcast.
- 37:53[SPEAKER_01]: I forgot Rhett, Rhett is the man.
- 37:56[SPEAKER_01]: He's going to have a good year as he got this year.
- 37:58[SPEAKER_04]: Have you all seen the movie, the pursuit of happiness?
- 38:01[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, yeah, dude.
- 38:02[SPEAKER_04]: I got a cool story about that.
- 38:03[SPEAKER_04]: Go ahead.
- 38:03[SPEAKER_04]: Have you seen it, girl?
- 38:04[SPEAKER_03]: I don't think so.
- 38:05[SPEAKER_04]: The one with Will Smith and his son, Jaden.
- 38:08[SPEAKER_04]: Um, he's basically he basically long story short.
- 38:12[SPEAKER_04]: He's got this little like box.
- 38:14[SPEAKER_04]: He carries everywhere with them.
- 38:15[SPEAKER_04]: Back in the 80s.
- 38:16[SPEAKER_04]: It's a true story.
- 38:17[SPEAKER_04]: This guy.
- 38:18[SPEAKER_04]: He.
- 38:19[SPEAKER_04]: he was tired of being a super smart guy but he never went to college and he had a son with this lady and he was trying to make it and he got in and he put all everything he had and these bone density scanners were supposed to be the next biggest thing behind X-ray.
- 38:34[SPEAKER_04]: Well these things were these big clunky things well what happened.
- 38:37[SPEAKER_04]: wife ends up losing him.
- 38:38[SPEAKER_04]: He stuck with this little boy.
- 38:39[SPEAKER_04]: His son just alone.
- 38:41[SPEAKER_04]: They're stuck alone in this room.
- 38:42[SPEAKER_04]: They're like one night.
- 38:43[SPEAKER_04]: They're in the subway.
- 38:44[SPEAKER_04]: They think they're in San Francisco, stuck in the subway of San Francisco.
- 38:47[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, it's just a phenomenal movie.
- 38:49[SPEAKER_04]: My point is this though that this guy carried.
- 38:52[SPEAKER_04]: He put his eggs in that bone density box, right?
- 38:56[SPEAKER_04]: And there's so many people.
- 38:58[SPEAKER_04]: that are putting their cards in the card space, they're putting literally their money, they're putting their life, they're pushing their chips into the card space.
- 39:05[SPEAKER_04]: All three of us have our carrying our own bone density machine right now in cards.
- 39:10[SPEAKER_04]: We put our money there.
- 39:11[SPEAKER_04]: We put our money where our mouth is, in my point is, this is what the American dream is all about.
- 39:16[SPEAKER_04]: Being able to get in something that you're passionate about.
- 39:19[SPEAKER_04]: Most of us, most people in America, 90% of people hate their job.
- 39:24[SPEAKER_04]: and you get to go do cards, and you get to go enjoy it.
- 39:28[SPEAKER_04]: You get to go and say, you know what, I've got some money that I'm willing to put over here to try to make my life better, and I also want to enjoy doing it.
- 39:37[SPEAKER_04]: And for me, when I got into this space, it's a hundred percent what it was.
- 39:42[SPEAKER_04]: You'll, I enjoyed
- 39:44[SPEAKER_04]: Love baseball, but I enjoyed spending the time on my kids and said, I can do this and also put money at work to try to better my life even further Right, that's why anybody does that when they invest in the business and that's what's so cool about this space and when you think about the pursuit of happiness That's really what cards
- 40:03[SPEAKER_04]: is.
- 40:04[SPEAKER_04]: If somebody's getting in that space, they're pursuing something.
- 40:08[SPEAKER_04]: It could be, it could be more money.
- 40:11[SPEAKER_04]: It could be more enjoyment.
- 40:13[SPEAKER_04]: It could be meeting new friends.
- 40:14[SPEAKER_04]: It could be seeing new places.
- 40:16[SPEAKER_04]: It could be any of the above.
- 40:18[SPEAKER_04]: And to me watching that movie last night puts it all on perspective, because that's really what the title of card should be in the pursuit of happiness.
- 40:27[SPEAKER_01]: And what that happiness is for each collector or business man or whatever may be a different definition and it's nobody else's decision to side that but you're right exactly yeah that's so good to and a great great movie I got confused initially when you said the pursuit of happiness there's another it was a it was a movie with uh...
- 40:47[SPEAKER_01]: Is it James Gardner who played in the show Maverick his older guy with the kind of gruff whatever I think is James Gardner.
- 40:53[SPEAKER_01]: He died a few years ago.
- 40:55[SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, it's called the Ultimate Gift and he's a wealthy billionaire and he doesn't want to leave his money to his family.
- 41:00[SPEAKER_01]: So he leaves his kids this challenge to like accomplish these 10 things like show me integrity, show me generosity, show me this and it's a it's a but the guy that actually helped publish that movie or get that movie written
- 41:14[SPEAKER_01]: was a guy that helped me self-published my book, Redefined Rich.
- 41:17[SPEAKER_01]: And so I'm pumped about having the opportunity to talk a little bit more about what's behind the scenes for the three of us, because I know we all have like a lifetime of experiences and wisdom to bring to the table.
- 41:26[SPEAKER_01]: And hopefully our listeners will benefit from that as an applies to the thing that we love.
- 41:30[SPEAKER_01]: But that said, fellas, we want to kind of go ahead and put a bow on this show.
- 41:34[SPEAKER_01]: As we've mentioned, we're going to be kind of moving into season two, which is going to be same concept, and we'll be navigate in the off season.
- 41:43[SPEAKER_01]: after, of course, the playoffs.
- 41:45[SPEAKER_01]: But that said, one of the things that we've put in front of us is this road to a hundred k. We thought it would be a good opportunity for us to start talking about getting into the space with a thousand dollars to kind of, you know, talk about, hey, it's not just about people that have millions of dollars or hundreds of thousands of dollars or tens of thousands of dollars, we'll start with a thousand bucks.
- 42:05[SPEAKER_01]: and let's figure this out and we got that road to a hundred k off, but then the market that we're kind of into was some conflict or whatever.
- 42:12[SPEAKER_01]: So we're going to definitely pick that back up.
- 42:15[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just wanted to give you boys a chance to kind of talk on anything before we wrap up to those show today.
- 42:20[SPEAKER_03]: I think we should do a refresh of, you know, picks from baseball and do picks again.
- 42:27[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, where we are now.
- 42:28[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 42:28[SPEAKER_01]: So we got so American League.
- 42:30[SPEAKER_03]: We got Blue Jay's
- 42:35[SPEAKER_01]: Yep, and then we got the the dodges and the the brewer crew.
- 42:39[SPEAKER_01]: Yep.
- 42:39[SPEAKER_01]: So I had Mariners, but I had Philly's current.
- 42:42[SPEAKER_01]: Who do you have?
- 42:43[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he's all the way.
- 42:44[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 42:45[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, that's why that's why I was saying refresh.
- 42:47[SPEAKER_04]: But I had the Blue Jays going the whole the whole thing.
- 42:50[SPEAKER_01]: You got, so you're still in.
- 42:52[SPEAKER_04]: I still stand blue guys, no one to hold a solid pick.
- 42:55[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think the Mariners are gonna do it though.
- 42:57[SPEAKER_01]: I really do.
- 42:58[SPEAKER_01]: I think they got this destiny thing on a man.
- 43:00[SPEAKER_01]: They got this thing where it's like you can't escape it.
- 43:02[SPEAKER_01]: But that's just me there.
- 43:04[SPEAKER_01]: What about Dodgers in the brook room?
- 43:05[SPEAKER_01]: Who you guys got?
- 43:06[SPEAKER_03]: Man, I really want the Brewers to win.
- 43:08[SPEAKER_03]: I really do.
- 43:09[SPEAKER_03]: I'm rooting for them.
- 43:10[SPEAKER_03]: I just see the Dodgers doing it again.
- 43:12[SPEAKER_01]: How do they beat the Empire?
- 43:14[SPEAKER_01]: The Dodgers when they take the field, it should be the theme from Star Wars, the death march, whatever.
- 43:24[SPEAKER_03]: I'm going Brewers, I'm just what I'm rooting for, and I want to Brewers, so my brain brain tells me Dodgers.
- 43:31[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but I think the Brewers and Mariners would be so good for the sport, man.
- 43:36[SPEAKER_01]: Mariners first, would be the first Super Bowl.
- 43:38[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, for Super Bowl first World Series appearance for that.
- 43:41[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, yeah, I think the mariners and the either the mariners of the blue jays would be awesome.
- 43:46[SPEAKER_03]: And like one of them is going to make it obviously, but I think pull teams are great for baseball to have in there.
- 43:52[SPEAKER_03]: They're, they're, you know what I mean, and that's why I think it would be great for the perverse to be in there too.
- 43:56[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, so brewers or jays or brewers are,
- 43:58[SPEAKER_03]: Mariners, I think would be great.
- 44:00[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it'll be good to see it come down.
- 44:02[SPEAKER_01]: But to your point, Bubba, it's been exciting baseball man like it's been ridiculously good.
- 44:07[SPEAKER_01]: And to see some of these young pictures step up, you know, I'm like this.
- 44:11[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 44:11[SPEAKER_01]: And you know to me, a cam Schwitler and your savage, that's been really neat too, man.
- 44:17[SPEAKER_01]: You're starting to see some icon.
- 44:18[SPEAKER_01]: Ben Vlad has established himself, you know, it's just a absolute stud, you know, Cal Rally last night,
- 44:28[SPEAKER_01]: I'm saying anyway, it's it's been been a lot of fun boys.
- 44:30[SPEAKER_01]: Well, guys, thank you all for listening.
- 44:32[SPEAKER_01]: We're wrapping up here today.
- 44:34[SPEAKER_01]: You know, we addressed some very direct and personal things with this whole three king's thing and certainly current.
- 44:41[SPEAKER_01]: Support him in that.
- 44:42[SPEAKER_01]: So appreciate you guys, continuing to follow.
- 44:44[SPEAKER_01]: And most of you that follow this show have been supportive through all this.
- 44:47[SPEAKER_01]: We appreciate it.
- 44:47[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to continue to be here and bring great content to you guys.
- 44:51[SPEAKER_01]: So boys, any final thoughts?
- 44:52[SPEAKER_03]: My favorite part of the baseball playoffs.
- 44:54[SPEAKER_03]: No ghost runner.
- 44:57[SPEAKER_04]: My, my final thought is just, um, has to do with the two things you mentioned.
- 45:02[SPEAKER_04]: I'll hit on them really quick.
- 45:04[SPEAKER_04]: Road to a hundred k is we're going to talk, that's will not die.
- 45:08[SPEAKER_04]: That was an idea that we came up with it will not die.
- 45:11[SPEAKER_04]: We'll see in a lot of the comments and people say, what's happened?
- 45:15[SPEAKER_04]: The reality is if you want to make a hundred k, you don't try to do it.
- 45:19[SPEAKER_04]: Just for the pod and then go lose a thousand dollars.
- 45:23[SPEAKER_00]: Or 2000.
- 45:23[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, this is not the right time with baseball already now 1%.
- 45:27[SPEAKER_04]: So we're trying to be smart.
- 45:29[SPEAKER_04]: We will be buying in the all season.
- 45:30[SPEAKER_04]: We will come out next spring and we will make 100k.
- 45:34[SPEAKER_04]: We will do this.
- 45:35[SPEAKER_04]: I feel confident in that.
- 45:37[SPEAKER_04]: And the second thing with the next season.
- 45:39[SPEAKER_04]: is I'm just excited to share with you guys kind of just like we've really opened up every week about who we are when we look at season two.
- 45:49[SPEAKER_04]: That was our goal from the start to be real, but just to kind of peel the onion even back on all three of us a little bit further.
- 45:55[SPEAKER_04]: and hoping to bring some other guests on and kind of peel back the story like we talked about it there's so many different stories in the hobby how each person got there they're usually not the same so excited to kind of share that series as we get going into season two but just again to share your sentiments map from every week season one has been beyond but I think any of the three of us could have dreamed of when we set out to do and and what we could have done in first season absolutely.
- 46:19[SPEAKER_01]: incredible experience wouldn't do it with anybody else boys.
- 46:21[SPEAKER_01]: I appreciate you both for our listeners.
- 46:24[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you guys for sticking with us every week and for being a part of the sports card CEO.
- 46:28[SPEAKER_01]: We'll see you guys soon.
- 46:29[SPEAKER_01]: Peace.
