- 0:04Speaker 1: Here we are Off the Edge with your host Cam Jordan.
- 0:07Speaker 1: I'm excited, you know, I just thought about this. I've
- 0:11Speaker 1: been blessed to have a lot of amazing people come online,
- 0:16Speaker 1: sit here at the pod, to have amazing listeners and
- 0:18Speaker 1: viewers tap in. I've been around this, this media space
- 0:23Speaker 1: for you know, the podcast space for about five six
- 0:26Speaker 1: years now, you know, to this second season all Off
- 0:28Speaker 1: the Edge, and I just want to shout out to
- 0:30Speaker 1: everybody listening. Thank you, you know, thank you for tapping in,
- 0:34Speaker 1: thank you for being you as a listener.
- 0:37Speaker 2: You're valued.
- 0:38Speaker 1: And speaking of value players, I'm go ahead and bring
- 0:41Speaker 1: in a man who is clearly valuable player. You know,
- 0:45Speaker 1: a slot receiver that's won at the highest level super Bowl.
- 0:48Speaker 1: You know, the man that may have seen not one,
- 0:51Speaker 1: not two, but like three super Bowl championships.
- 0:53Speaker 2: I just want to go to a super Bowl.
- 0:57Speaker 3: You know.
- 0:57Speaker 2: A guy who has been a part of the New
- 0:58Speaker 2: England Patriots.
- 1:00Speaker 1: Is one of the you know, all dynasty team members.
- 1:03Speaker 1: Somebody who's seen the success on every level and is
- 1:06Speaker 1: of course media personality himself, and probably will see him
- 1:10Speaker 1: sometime during my bye week. A man who still leaves
- 1:13Speaker 1: the term athlete on his id bio. We talking about
- 1:16Speaker 1: Julian Edelman, big doll. Appreciate you coming.
- 1:19Speaker 4: In, No problem, no problem. Thank you to the listeners too. Man,
- 1:23Speaker 4: that was a beautiful opening right there. Value for the listener.
- 1:28Speaker 3: I mean, that's a football guy right there. Got to
- 1:30Speaker 3: always display value.
- 1:31Speaker 1: Big team, you know, big team, little me. But I'm
- 1:34Speaker 1: just I'm just simply thinking, like, let's just talk about this.
- 1:37Speaker 1: You know, athlete in the bio, you still consider yourself athlete.
- 1:40Speaker 1: He's still like you still work out, you like that,
- 1:42Speaker 1: you built, you built for the for the game today.
- 1:46Speaker 4: I don't know if I could go out and play today.
- 1:47Speaker 3: But I mean I have everything in my life because
- 1:50Speaker 3: of athleticism or athletics.
- 1:53Speaker 4: Uh so, I mean I'm an athlete.
- 1:57Speaker 2: So yeah, yeah.
- 1:59Speaker 3: I mean this meet of stuff now, but you should
- 2:02Speaker 3: see me on the Batmanton court.
- 2:04Speaker 2: I hoping you say so. Pick a ball, yeah yeah,
- 2:09Speaker 2: flick of the risks, catch.
- 2:10Speaker 4: Yeah, it's risks and elbow.
- 2:14Speaker 2: UVE love that for you.
- 2:16Speaker 1: Speaking of, you know, meet the media part though, I mean,
- 2:19Speaker 1: what what haven't you done? You're on You're on the
- 2:21Speaker 1: Fox NFL Sunday show as a sports analyst. You know,
- 2:24Speaker 1: you you host, not one but two podcasts. Man, you
- 2:30Speaker 1: never stopped working, co founded a production company. You know,
- 2:34Speaker 1: Nuthouse Sports. I've seen you know on your ig you
- 2:37Speaker 1: got to riddle all types of like skits and everything
- 2:39Speaker 1: else from there, like it's it's entertainment at its finest
- 2:42Speaker 1: highest levels.
- 2:43Speaker 4: It's been fun.
- 2:45Speaker 1: I'll say, what what What inspired you to have your
- 2:48Speaker 1: own production company?
- 2:50Speaker 3: It all started with making short form content back in
- 2:55Speaker 3: like twenty eleven. Everyone knows playing for the New England Patriots,
- 3:03Speaker 3: there's a certain way you have to handle the media
- 3:05Speaker 3: when it comes to football and work. And this is
- 3:09Speaker 3: like the beginning stages of social media where you had
- 3:12Speaker 3: your own platform. And so with how I handled the
- 3:16Speaker 3: media as a Patriot, it was so different or it
- 3:19Speaker 3: was so difficult to show your personality and who you
- 3:23Speaker 3: really were off the field. And it all started with
- 3:29Speaker 3: making stupid smooth videos and I fell in love with it,
- 3:33Speaker 3: got comfortable behind the camera, loved the process of you know,
- 3:38Speaker 3: making something. You know, we started off with smoothie time,
- 3:42Speaker 3: then it went to burger time. Then we would do
- 3:45Speaker 3: produce these little Google glass videos and then it turned
- 3:48Speaker 3: into a thing where you know, you have a team
- 3:52Speaker 3: of people, you know you're behind the camera, but the
- 3:55Speaker 3: people behind the camera all working together to make this content.
- 4:00Speaker 3: You know, it's something that's been fun and it allows
- 4:03Speaker 3: me to be a part of a team still and
- 4:06Speaker 3: I enjoy it. So that's kind of like where it started,
- 4:09Speaker 3: and then turned into making documentaries and producing podcasts, having
- 4:17Speaker 3: you know, live shows. We did pop up shops, like
- 4:22Speaker 3: we were. I was like one of those first athletes
- 4:24Speaker 3: on social media that was trying to identify and make
- 4:28Speaker 3: his own brand instead of making other brands, you know,
- 4:32Speaker 3: more valuable, Like we were talking earlier in the show,
- 4:35Speaker 3: trying to bring value to me as a person and
- 4:39Speaker 3: then license my name to other big brands.
- 4:44Speaker 1: And il is hard. Okay, before there was nil, you
- 4:48Speaker 1: know what it is.
- 4:48Speaker 4: I wish we had it.
- 4:49Speaker 2: Wish we had.
- 4:51Speaker 3: You see these gosh darn freaking player lots and at
- 4:55Speaker 3: the SEC rolling up better looking better than our player lots.
- 4:59Speaker 3: I mean I see like six seven, eight lambows.
- 5:02Speaker 2: Yeah, could imagine.
- 5:03Speaker 3: Being twenty two dollars with like five million bucks in
- 5:06Speaker 3: your bank account.
- 5:07Speaker 2: I mean it was I feel like it was still done.
- 5:09Speaker 1: You remember Terrell prior back in Ohio State days and
- 5:12Speaker 1: they're like stop coming up with new cars and he yeah, exactly, it.
- 5:16Speaker 3: Was a tattoo of maybe one car. But you you
- 5:19Speaker 3: roll up into these these player lines. Now, man, it's crazy.
- 5:24Speaker 1: Hell Cat packages everywhere, scot Pass everywhere. Oh well, Lampos
- 5:29Speaker 1: with the with the range rope. I couldn't imagine eighteen
- 5:33Speaker 1: nineteen years old with a range.
- 5:35Speaker 4: No.
- 5:36Speaker 3: You know, when we were kids to young playing in college,
- 5:39Speaker 3: it was about like struggling.
- 5:41Speaker 2: It was about struggling, but it was.
- 5:44Speaker 3: About like you had a sick TV like set up
- 5:47Speaker 3: and placed it because you were on you know, you
- 5:51Speaker 3: lived in the Section eight housing because you didn't have
- 5:53Speaker 3: money and you got extra money and rent was only
- 5:56Speaker 3: like seventy five bucks and that was your way of
- 5:58Speaker 3: kind of living fresh was you know, you had a
- 6:02Speaker 3: big stream TV and an Xbox, sweet speakers.
- 6:06Speaker 4: Now it's a whole different league.
- 6:08Speaker 1: Yeah, my biggest My biggest fear was did I have
- 6:11Speaker 1: enough to cover rent as well as the bills and
- 6:14Speaker 1: some like and enough money for a date. Boy, I
- 6:17Speaker 1: ain't even worried about that right now, what's the kid?
- 6:20Speaker 1: The five star kid that flipped from LSU to Michigan.
- 6:23Speaker 1: They're talking about it said ten million dollars deal. I said,
- 6:25Speaker 1: first of all, I said millions me in college I
- 6:29Speaker 1: would have I wouldn't have been a football player. I
- 6:30Speaker 1: would be like, no, So this is it for me.
- 6:33Speaker 1: I'm gonna go be a lawyer. I've started my own
- 6:35Speaker 1: law firm.
- 6:38Speaker 3: It does sift out a lot of guys though. This money, right,
- 6:41Speaker 3: this new it's gonna make it harder for, you know,
- 6:44Speaker 3: guys to be great in the league. If you're gonna
- 6:47Speaker 3: have to truly love football now as a young athlete
- 6:52Speaker 3: to go out and basically have those blinders on with
- 6:57Speaker 3: all the money that they could make at such an
- 6:59Speaker 3: early stage in the life. You know, if guys can
- 7:01Speaker 3: realize that that's just the splash of what you could
- 7:05Speaker 3: really make, and if you just focus on football and
- 7:08Speaker 3: you win and you perform, well, all that nil stuff
- 7:12Speaker 3: will come on its own.
- 7:14Speaker 2: Right.
- 7:15Speaker 3: Hey.
- 7:15Speaker 1: When I was younger i first got to the league,
- 7:17Speaker 1: I said, look, I just want to put my head
- 7:18Speaker 1: down and work. And it wasn't the first or second
- 7:20Speaker 1: Pro Bowl that got me to a little bit of spotlight.
- 7:23Speaker 2: It was like the third fourth.
- 7:24Speaker 1: Oh Okay, now that I've established myself as as a
- 7:27Speaker 1: great player, now I can actually like get some deals
- 7:30Speaker 1: coming in because I wasn't in a big market. You know,
- 7:33Speaker 1: it wasn't La New York. You know, Pat's winning Green
- 7:37Speaker 1: Bay because there's nothing else in Green Bay. You know,
- 7:40Speaker 1: I'm in New Orleans, a smaller market. You know, just
- 7:43Speaker 1: you have to you have to win as well as
- 7:45Speaker 1: have a personality as well as you know.
- 7:47Speaker 2: Be able to uh to push yourself in media. But man,
- 7:52Speaker 2: just just thinking a job, not that I mean, you.
- 7:56Speaker 3: Know shows you're still playing. You got five shows I
- 7:59Speaker 3: see year on our show and on Fox.
- 8:03Speaker 4: I mean you got a lot of great stuff cooking.
- 8:04Speaker 1: Yeah, because there's guys that you know, like the Mike
- 8:07Speaker 1: straight Hands that I've watched do it you who did it?
- 8:09Speaker 1: Which I mean you started you said back in twenty
- 8:12Speaker 1: ten eleven, which that almost puts you out like the
- 8:14Speaker 1: Vine days, you know, like and guys.
- 8:20Speaker 2: Think So I showed.
- 8:20Speaker 4: Content guys and TikTok, I swear.
- 8:25Speaker 1: But did your meet a career like help you transition
- 8:28Speaker 1: from the game, make it that a little bit easier
- 8:31Speaker 1: that second phase of laugh.
- 8:33Speaker 4: You know, I didn't know necessarily that I was going
- 8:35Speaker 4: to get into TV. Uh.
- 8:37Speaker 3: I kind of parlayed a deal with with Paramount for
- 8:42Speaker 3: my production company, so I said, I would do your
- 8:45Speaker 3: TV show right out of you know, retirement if you
- 8:50Speaker 3: were to, you know, give my production company some funding
- 8:55Speaker 3: and also some office space. So I kind of tried
- 8:58Speaker 3: to parlay that. And then once I got on camera
- 9:00Speaker 3: and started doing it and hanging out with guys like
- 9:05Speaker 3: you know, Mike Irvy and ray Lewis, Jay James Brown
- 9:08Speaker 3: on Inside the NFL, Brandon Marshall. Like, I realized that
- 9:13Speaker 3: the stuff you missed when you were playing was that
- 9:16Speaker 3: locker room environment.
- 9:18Speaker 4: And you get a little.
- 9:19Speaker 3: Bit of that with the TV where you get to
- 9:22Speaker 3: talk old war stories with guys that you know from
- 9:25Speaker 3: different generations. Now I work on Fox and you know,
- 9:28Speaker 3: I got Charles Woodson, Michael Vic, Chris is Schrager, and
- 9:32Speaker 3: then you have the big team with you know.
- 9:34Speaker 4: Terry Howie, Michael.
- 9:39Speaker 3: And It and Jimmy coach Jimmy, and you get to
- 9:42Speaker 3: have those kind of locker room environments in the green
- 9:45Speaker 3: rooms with those.
- 9:46Speaker 4: Guys, and that's what you really miss.
- 9:47Speaker 3: I mean, I love I miss competing and you know
- 9:50Speaker 3: you'll never have that because your body's not the same.
- 9:52Speaker 4: So you get a taste of that when you jump
- 9:54Speaker 4: in media.
- 9:54Speaker 3: And I had a plan I had a good team
- 9:56Speaker 3: around me when I retired, and I did a lot
- 9:59Speaker 3: enough stuff off the field, like I said, with social
- 10:02Speaker 3: media and creating content and where I had options after
- 10:08Speaker 3: I played. I think a lot of guys get in trouble,
- 10:12Speaker 3: you know, when they retire, when they have a lot
- 10:14Speaker 3: of free time, and they don't know how to handle
- 10:18Speaker 3: it because we're pretty much we're hurt animals. When you're
- 10:22Speaker 3: an athlete that's been a professional athlete for a long time,
- 10:25Speaker 3: you've been having the same schedule since you were probably
- 10:27Speaker 3: in high school, where you go to school, you go
- 10:30Speaker 3: to practice, you do homework, and then you do it again,
- 10:34Speaker 3: and the school is flipped when you're a pro with
- 10:36Speaker 3: you know, football school where you're studying and you're identifying
- 10:40Speaker 3: other teams and you're game planning, but it's.
- 10:43Speaker 4: The same schedule.
- 10:44Speaker 3: So I think a lot of guys get in trouble
- 10:46Speaker 3: when they get in you know, when they retire, when
- 10:48Speaker 3: they don't have things to do afterwards. So it was
- 10:51Speaker 3: great for me to have a good team and a
- 10:54Speaker 3: bunch of things I was interested off the field that
- 10:57Speaker 3: led into my future after football.
- 11:00Speaker 2: Mike Tyson say, everybody got a plan to you can
- 11:02Speaker 2: punch in the mouth.
- 11:03Speaker 1: Everybody swears they gonna play in the NFL for forever
- 11:06Speaker 1: and or I'll worry about it when it's done.
- 11:08Speaker 2: But when it's done and there ain't nothing around now, what.
- 11:12Speaker 3: You gotta You gotta keep your chickens, as Marshaun Lynz said,
- 11:16Speaker 3: and uh.
- 11:18Speaker 2: Take care of your mentals. Take care of your chickens.
- 11:20Speaker 4: Yeah, take carry your chickens.
- 11:23Speaker 1: No, you got the You got the podcast with Gromp
- 11:26Speaker 1: and co hosts and Dudes with Dudes. When I when
- 11:29Speaker 1: I scrolled through the ig earlier, I was like, Dudes
- 11:31Speaker 1: on Dudes.
- 11:32Speaker 2: Dudes with Dudes is way better title, by the way.
- 11:35Speaker 5: Dudes, but oh, you guys also work on Fox NFL Sunday,
- 11:43Speaker 5: So like, how did how that go with your teammates
- 11:46Speaker 5: to to partners on the pod?
- 11:48Speaker 3: Yeah, No, Dues on Dudes has been fun. It's a
- 11:51Speaker 3: fun concept. Funny concept where we go out and we
- 11:54Speaker 3: determine what kind of dude each guy, uh is that
- 11:58Speaker 3: we go over. So there's five different dudes. There's a
- 12:01Speaker 3: dude's dude, there's a freak, there's a stud, there's a whiz,
- 12:06Speaker 3: and there's a dog. They all have their kind of
- 12:09Speaker 3: forms of how we think they are. A dude's dude's
- 12:12Speaker 3: a glue guy, a dog someone who's mentally, physically, emotionally,
- 12:17Speaker 3: just mentally tough. Stud is a guy that has pedigree,
- 12:20Speaker 3: he's always been great, freak, is a one of a kind.
- 12:23Speaker 4: And then a dude's dude's a glue guy.
- 12:26Speaker 3: And it's been fun to guind of go over guys
- 12:28Speaker 3: that we played against, legends of the past and guys
- 12:31Speaker 3: that you know are playing now and kind of determining
- 12:34Speaker 3: what kind of dude each guy is, because that's what
- 12:37Speaker 3: you do when you're in the locker room and you're
- 12:38Speaker 3: sitting there with the homies with your five minute meeting
- 12:41Speaker 3: before the next or a five minute break in the
- 12:43Speaker 3: locker room before your next meeting.
- 12:46Speaker 4: You sit there and you're like, man, do you watch
- 12:47Speaker 4: that dude on film? Man? He was crazy. That was insane.
- 12:51Speaker 4: You know what I mean.
- 12:51Speaker 3: That's what we all do when we're in the locker room.
- 12:54Speaker 3: You know, you're studying guys. It's kind of funny to
- 12:58Speaker 3: hear you're studying guy.
- 13:00Speaker 1: Uh yeah, you pair that up with my dudes on
- 13:04Speaker 1: dudes coming, and then it gets real real freaky. May
- 13:10Speaker 1: tell you you know there should be a six category though,
- 13:12Speaker 1: like there should there should be one like category, the
- 13:16Speaker 1: one b dudes, you know, like the.
- 13:18Speaker 2: Dudes that that that.
- 13:20Speaker 1: That talk like they want to be in the league,
- 13:22Speaker 1: talk like they want to be the guy, but when
- 13:24Speaker 1: they walk you like, I don't really see what you're
- 13:28Speaker 1: talking about. You know, the ones that like, I want
- 13:30Speaker 1: to live. You know, I'm a hard hitter, but he's
- 13:32Speaker 1: not really a hard hitter. The one that you know, frauds, fraudulents,
- 13:37Speaker 1: fraudulent activities of plenty.
- 13:39Speaker 4: Yeah, you know we could do that, but we want to.
- 13:43Speaker 2: You want to.
- 13:44Speaker 3: We want to celebrate and uplift guys. Okay, in our
- 13:49Speaker 3: sport and other sports. You know, there's a lot of
- 13:53Speaker 3: there's a lot of place on the internet for bringing guys.
- 13:57Speaker 1: Yeah, just check just check x out. I want to
- 13:59Speaker 1: say Twitter, but yeah, if you want some darkness, go
- 14:02Speaker 1: to x excell. Let you know exactly what you never
- 14:04Speaker 1: wanted to be. We're celebrating, celebrate absolutely What kind of
- 14:08Speaker 1: dude would I be?
- 14:09Speaker 2: Then?
- 14:10Speaker 3: Man, dude, look at it, first team All Pro, bunch
- 14:16Speaker 3: of Pro Bowl, second team All Pro. You got a pedigree,
- 14:20Speaker 3: you could be just a straight out stud. Mm hm,
- 14:24Speaker 3: you know what I mean, you're a stud.
- 14:26Speaker 2: Yeah, I used to love that, jumping into a You're.
- 14:30Speaker 3: Already jumping into another workforce while you're in the other.
- 14:35Speaker 3: Like anything you touch you're good at. So I would
- 14:39Speaker 3: put you in the stud category. Eleven sacks on a
- 14:44Speaker 3: quiet ear for you, that's like stud right there. You know,
- 14:48Speaker 3: you get a fit in here. But man, maybe missed
- 14:51Speaker 3: a couple with the ankle. Morgan, he'll get nine and
- 14:54Speaker 3: a half, ten sacks, get a few and get a
- 14:57Speaker 3: five second.
- 14:58Speaker 4: Did you have like a six sac game one?
- 15:00Speaker 2: I remember watching four four, just four?
- 15:04Speaker 4: I remember that. That's a stunt.
- 15:06Speaker 2: Yeah, I guess the Cantlanta Falcons, you know.
- 15:10Speaker 3: Against the Vision rival. That's even better. People realize that's hard.
- 15:13Speaker 3: You guys see each other twice a year. That's hard.
- 15:16Speaker 2: On Thanksgiving Thursday.
- 15:18Speaker 4: Hey, you're thankful for those four SATs.
- 15:20Speaker 2: No doubt. I had the wings and the legs. Give
- 15:22Speaker 2: me all four. Give me that. Did you get the
- 15:25Speaker 2: leg Oh yeah, you know I did.
- 15:27Speaker 1: You gotta get you gotta get the dry turkey because
- 15:29Speaker 1: it's been sitting there for like an hour. I said, yeah,
- 15:32Speaker 1: that that that turkey. You're trying to You're trying to
- 15:35Speaker 1: answer questions while you got you need to like they
- 15:38Speaker 1: need to at least bring some like cranberry juice or like,
- 15:40Speaker 1: you know, a little bit of sparkling champagne something something something.
- 15:46Speaker 3: Thanksgiving, I probably would have got a turkey leg, but
- 15:48Speaker 3: I was knocked out.
- 15:50Speaker 4: After I got my.
- 15:52Speaker 3: I got obliterated reset button on a on a reverse.
- 15:55Speaker 3: But it was the butt fumble game. Remember the the
- 15:59Speaker 3: Mark Sanchez butt fumble.
- 16:00Speaker 2: Yeah, there's only one butt fumble game.
- 16:03Speaker 4: That was on Thanksgiving?
- 16:04Speaker 2: Geez was it?
- 16:06Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 16:07Speaker 3: It was in so we I scored a touchdown, like
- 16:11Speaker 3: a deep one, like a forty five yard touchdown.
- 16:14Speaker 4: Brady hit me on a blitz zero, then the butt.
- 16:16Speaker 3: Then we were kicking off, uh McKnight rip he mccordy
- 16:23Speaker 3: hit McKnight on kickoff.
- 16:25Speaker 4: The ball popped up in the air.
- 16:27Speaker 3: I took the ball in mid air and ran it
- 16:29Speaker 3: for a touchdown. So we scored big touchdown that touchdown,
- 16:34Speaker 3: and then the very next drive was the butt fumble.
- 16:36Speaker 3: We scored like twenty one points and freaking like twenty
- 16:40Speaker 3: eight seconds or something.
- 16:41Speaker 4: It was gnarly.
- 16:43Speaker 3: That's Thanksgiving. That's that's a tease. What we have coming
- 16:47Speaker 3: next week for all you listeners. Thanksgiving is a very
- 16:50Speaker 3: fun day for everyone to have their platform and their
- 16:53Speaker 3: tradition of getting to play.
- 16:56Speaker 4: Football on Thanksgiving.
- 16:57Speaker 1: All right, did you you thirty years Yeah? Yeah, I
- 17:05Speaker 1: chuck up Fall holidays as a loss. Anyways, I'm like, yo,
- 17:08Speaker 1: like all all the spring holidays that that's what Dad's
- 17:11Speaker 1: here for. That's what I'm here for, you know, Summer
- 17:13Speaker 1: for sure, and fall. Hey, if I'm there, I'm there,
- 17:16Speaker 1: and I'm gonna make the best of it. If I'm not,
- 17:18Speaker 1: I didn't expect to be there. I expected to have
- 17:20Speaker 1: practice on Thanksgiving. I expect to have practice on Christmas.
- 17:22Speaker 1: I'm trying to win. And if when it takes me
- 17:25Speaker 1: not being around for Thanksgiving a Christmas, that's all right
- 17:28Speaker 1: if you if you're good enough person, you make every
- 17:31Speaker 1: day Christmas anyways.
- 17:33Speaker 3: But you know, I look at it also as what
- 17:37Speaker 3: kind of you know, when you when you're playing with guys,
- 17:39Speaker 3: at least where I was at, you're with family, their family.
- 17:42Speaker 3: You know, you spend so much goddamn time with your
- 17:45Speaker 3: teammates more than you do with your family during the
- 17:48Speaker 3: football season, that it's always super exciting on those holidays,
- 17:53Speaker 3: New Year's, Thanksgiving, Christmas when you had a practice here,
- 17:58Speaker 3: you had a game, and there was always some sort
- 18:00Speaker 3: of excitement. If it was a practice, you had your
- 18:04Speaker 3: practice on the practice field. Then you had short days,
- 18:07Speaker 3: so after practice you got to go home and spend
- 18:09Speaker 3: it with the family. It was just there was always
- 18:12Speaker 3: a bit of excitement I felt when it was a
- 18:14Speaker 3: holiday and you had to practice and you know, you
- 18:17Speaker 3: had a game on there and then afterwards you get
- 18:20Speaker 3: to go spend it with the family.
- 18:22Speaker 4: I just enjoyed. That's what we know as football players.
- 18:25Speaker 1: Absolutely bro I remember my younger years before we had
- 18:29Speaker 1: like our first couple of games on Thanksgiving. We would
- 18:32Speaker 1: practice on Thanksgiving and then we would have you know
- 18:36Speaker 1: practice early, like it'll be like a half day. But
- 18:38Speaker 1: after that practice, we had the Turkey Bowl where the
- 18:40Speaker 1: coaches would line up for you know, defensive coaches versus
- 18:43Speaker 1: office coaches for one play if it's either a stop
- 18:47Speaker 1: or go you know what I'm saying, Like it's the
- 18:49Speaker 1: if we had the boomboss going music playing, and the
- 18:51Speaker 1: guys loved it.
- 18:52Speaker 4: Look forward to it, look forward to it.
- 18:55Speaker 3: Nothing more fun watching coaches go out and compete against
- 18:58Speaker 3: each other.
- 19:00Speaker 4: Mother fuck them for their technique.
- 19:02Speaker 2: Hey, talking all types of craziness. You lock coach. You
- 19:05Speaker 2: said you sposed to shad coach. You are too high
- 19:08Speaker 2: on the right, right on the quarterback. You knew better
- 19:11Speaker 2: give me that double dick on.
- 19:12Speaker 4: The release, get all give me a swine? Why daddy,
- 19:16Speaker 4: all those.
- 19:17Speaker 2: Caps are looking big, No doubt. Dan Campbell at tight end.
- 19:22Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying, Like back in his back
- 19:23Speaker 1: this glory day, run a little hunh, Sean Payton trying
- 19:27Speaker 1: to toss one tool. Meanwhile, you know got guys like
- 19:29Speaker 1: Brian Young pass rushing with like like, oh this giving
- 19:34Speaker 1: it man.
- 19:35Speaker 4: I love Brian. Remember you used to wear the double
- 19:37Speaker 4: helmet on the helmet.
- 19:38Speaker 3: Yes, yes, you're doing the Guardian cap.
- 19:43Speaker 1: Cool exactly, That's wild. Did you should talk about team camaraderie?
- 19:56Speaker 1: This is like the loyalty factor? You know, he played
- 19:58Speaker 1: pretty much like the whole career with one team. Yeah, Like,
- 20:03Speaker 1: is that like a badge of honor? Because I feel
- 20:05Speaker 1: like I feel like it.
- 20:06Speaker 3: Is it is in this day and age, I think
- 20:11Speaker 3: it is a badge of honor. And I remember, you know,
- 20:15Speaker 3: when I was going through the free agent processes of
- 20:19Speaker 3: potentially leaving, we had something special, you know, and and
- 20:24Speaker 3: I knew that I may have got more money going
- 20:27Speaker 3: to another place. But you know, say you go to
- 20:30Speaker 3: another place, you get a new coaching stuff. In two years,
- 20:33Speaker 3: you're not making money. You know, you got a new
- 20:37Speaker 3: regime coming in. It's just you know, it's different. It
- 20:40Speaker 3: was always special when you when you were a kid
- 20:42Speaker 3: and you had your favorite guy that stayed on one team.
- 20:46Speaker 4: So I do wear it is a badge of honor.
- 20:48Speaker 3: And I'm very blessed and honored that I got to
- 20:51Speaker 3: be a New England Patriot my whole career.
- 20:53Speaker 1: Right, Yeah, I couldn't I say, I couldn't imagine you
- 20:56Speaker 1: anywhere else. This sort of felt like like you know,
- 20:59Speaker 1: not to down play, like like like the Wels Welker,
- 21:01Speaker 1: you know, like the Jerry Rice, the you know, like
- 21:04Speaker 1: the all Time Grace. You think of like one team
- 21:06Speaker 1: and all of a sudden he's on another, and it
- 21:08Speaker 1: just doesn't feel the same. Nomd Awesome Wall, you know,
- 21:11Speaker 1: like go to Philly, You're like you're the guy, and
- 21:14Speaker 1: then because you're on a different team.
- 21:16Speaker 4: Like, yeah, he wasn't old Namdi anymore.
- 21:20Speaker 2: That's what I'm like. Yeah, it's just like.
- 21:23Speaker 1: We like it just feels wrong as a fan like
- 21:27Speaker 1: Brett Favre, because I was born in Minnesota, possibly for
- 21:30Speaker 1: the Vikings. I hated Green Bay all my life. And
- 21:32Speaker 1: next thing I know, he's dawning of Vikings Jersey. I
- 21:36Speaker 1: was disgusted. I stopped being a fan for a short time.
- 21:39Speaker 3: Yeah, no, I it's but it's also a different generation
- 21:44Speaker 3: and a different age with fans because of fantasy football,
- 21:48Speaker 3: and back when we were kids, at least when I
- 21:51Speaker 3: was a kid, fantasy was just coming around.
- 21:54Speaker 4: But you didn't you know, you didn't know. You only
- 21:58Speaker 4: watched your team.
- 21:59Speaker 3: Now you know, I'll be when you were playing, you
- 22:02Speaker 3: roll into another city and then someone rolls up to
- 22:04Speaker 3: you and says, man, you got me eight points in
- 22:07Speaker 3: fantasy last week.
- 22:08Speaker 4: Thanks bro right Minnesota.
- 22:12Speaker 1: I mean growing up, I did. I don't remember NFL
- 22:14Speaker 1: all access pass. This is the accessibility of it all.
- 22:17Speaker 1: You were locked in on your team, like your team,
- 22:20Speaker 1: like that's that's it. There was no you know, I
- 22:22Speaker 1: don't know if it definitely was at YouTube in ninety
- 22:25Speaker 1: five ninety six, like.
- 22:26Speaker 2: So where were you catching the highlights for the game?
- 22:28Speaker 1: So sports Center, Sports Center, I'm exactly top ten, if
- 22:33Speaker 1: you'll take it wasn't on it.
- 22:34Speaker 2: That's it. That was it.
- 22:36Speaker 4: You see that SAT Sports Center clip five times?
- 22:39Speaker 2: All right?
- 22:40Speaker 1: All right? Man, Like at this point, I'm fourteen years
- 22:42Speaker 1: in with the Saints, Like could you imagine, like I've
- 22:46Speaker 1: imagined myself Donna in a different jersey, and I was like,
- 22:50Speaker 1: it's worth it.
- 22:50Speaker 2: That's what Like, that's what it comes down to.
- 22:52Speaker 1: Like all money isn't good money because like you said,
- 22:55Speaker 1: you got head coach changes, you're just going in and
- 22:58Speaker 1: now you're you're like, oh, he's just it him as
- 23:00Speaker 1: a OG instead of like an integral piece. There's there's
- 23:03Speaker 1: so many different ways you could look at it.
- 23:05Speaker 4: But there's comfort, there's you know, there's comfort costs money.
- 23:09Speaker 3: Man. You know, if you want to go somewhere else,
- 23:11Speaker 3: you have to learn a whole new system.
- 23:13Speaker 4: You gotta learn a new team. You got you gotta
- 23:15Speaker 4: learn new people in the building. Uh.
- 23:18Speaker 3: You know, when you're with some place forever, you know,
- 23:22Speaker 3: for a long time, and you roll up and you
- 23:25Speaker 3: see our parking lady give you know a hub.
- 23:27Speaker 2: You know everybody for five minutes.
- 23:30Speaker 3: You go into the cafeteria, you see all your lunch
- 23:33Speaker 3: ladies and lunch people. You know you're walking through the
- 23:36Speaker 3: tunnel and you see all Marv who works on the field.
- 23:41Speaker 3: You know, there's just a there's a there's a thing
- 23:44Speaker 3: about being with somewhere for a long time.
- 23:46Speaker 4: That's just you know, it's special exactly.
- 23:49Speaker 1: You know when when you're when your guy personnel guys
- 23:52Speaker 1: at him, you know, knows all the kids. You know,
- 23:55Speaker 1: Tyler Photographer's he's like, hey, if you ever need just
- 23:57Speaker 1: regular photos, just let me know.
- 23:59Speaker 2: You know, just like great people that you're gonna build
- 24:02Speaker 2: like a rapport with.
- 24:03Speaker 3: In Boston, you get like a bunch of There's be
- 24:06Speaker 3: Mary Anne, There'd be a Shahleen gas pipe over there
- 24:11Speaker 3: down in the hall. You know, all these all these
- 24:13Speaker 3: Boston people. So you have a relationship and it becomes
- 24:18Speaker 3: part of.
- 24:18Speaker 2: Who you are absolutely life alone.
- 24:22Speaker 1: You know, since I don't have a Super Bowl trophy,
- 24:24Speaker 1: I'm just gonna ask you, do you where do you
- 24:26Speaker 1: keep your Super Bowl MVP trophy.
- 24:29Speaker 4: It's in the studio.
- 24:30Speaker 3: It's in the nuthouse, Yeah it is, Yeah, so we do.
- 24:33Speaker 3: It's we have if you watch our show, we have
- 24:36Speaker 3: a cool like wall of memorabilia through the years, which
- 24:42Speaker 3: was essentially just a bunch of that was sent to
- 24:45Speaker 3: me after I retired. Where you accumulate boxes and boxes
- 24:49Speaker 3: of things, as you know in.
- 24:51Speaker 4: The locker room over years.
- 24:53Speaker 3: Uh, it was it was fun to go through that
- 24:55Speaker 3: and put it all on the wall for the show.
- 24:57Speaker 3: And and that's where that that that trophy.
- 25:00Speaker 4: Is dirty, dirty Tiffany's boy. I wish I got a
- 25:03Speaker 4: car though, And it was the first.
- 25:05Speaker 3: Year he didn't give a goddamn car for Super Bowl
- 25:07Speaker 3: MVP bla bro. And even though the cars get old,
- 25:11Speaker 3: I remember when I was a young player. You know,
- 25:15Speaker 3: Tom got an m VP and he had his like
- 25:17Speaker 3: his escalade uh in the parking lot, and it'd be
- 25:21Speaker 3: like five eight years old, but it was still a
- 25:23Speaker 3: Super Bowl car, like MVP car that held drive.
- 25:26Speaker 4: Every once in a while.
- 25:27Speaker 3: Dion Branch had a Cadillac Coop that he got when
- 25:33Speaker 3: he won one. So it was like a badge of honor,
- 25:35Speaker 3: you know, because everyone always.
- 25:36Speaker 4: Had their new cars in the lot.
- 25:38Speaker 3: But if you saw this like six five six year
- 25:40Speaker 3: old car, roll up in there and you're like, oh, what, oh,
- 25:43Speaker 3: MVP car, MVP.
- 25:46Speaker 1: Car, didn't didn't uh, didn't good old Tom by James
- 25:51Speaker 1: White a suo give him the Super Bowl MVP car.
- 25:54Speaker 2: What I think he gave him.
- 25:55Speaker 3: I think he gave Malcolm Butler the car after the pick. Okay,
- 26:02Speaker 3: so I think, you know, But then Thom's had so
- 26:05Speaker 3: many of those things it's it's hard to track that
- 26:08Speaker 3: for accounting and tax reasons.
- 26:10Speaker 4: So he probably just gave it away.
- 26:13Speaker 2: I don't want to deal with this and don't write
- 26:15Speaker 2: it down. Give it, give it to my dog.
- 26:19Speaker 1: Uh.
- 26:19Speaker 2: You know, you're one of only nine receivers to win
- 26:22Speaker 2: Super Bowl MVP. You know this?
- 26:25Speaker 4: No, I didn't know there was nine?
- 26:27Speaker 2: Yeah? Can you name the other eight?
- 26:28Speaker 1: Well?
- 26:28Speaker 3: I know Jerry did it. I know Holmes did it.
- 26:32Speaker 3: I know, Uh Cook did it. Dion Branch did it.
- 26:40Speaker 2: Mm hmm.
- 26:42Speaker 4: That's four. Who else did Lynn Swan do it?
- 26:49Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah he did? Okay one historian over here?
- 26:54Speaker 4: Five?
- 26:57Speaker 3: Who else where? Steve Other said Stealers? Uh did I
- 27:02Speaker 3: say homes? I said homes right, yep.
- 27:04Speaker 2: But you're missing one.
- 27:05Speaker 4: Another Steelers Hines.
- 27:07Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, there we go.
- 27:08Speaker 4: It was too I forget. So that's six. I got
- 27:12Speaker 4: two more.
- 27:17Speaker 2: One of them became like an award, college award.
- 27:21Speaker 4: One of them became a college award. What years?
- 27:27Speaker 2: Uh that is at the very beginning right after Lynn Swan.
- 27:31Speaker 3: Oh, that's one of those tough guys.
- 27:34Speaker 2: Yeah, Fred Blittnikoff.
- 27:37Speaker 4: Blittant cough, the blatant cough with the.
- 27:39Speaker 2: Fun exactly, ka boom. That's the only reason why they
- 27:42Speaker 2: might have then. Yeah, yeah, that's impressive. And Desmond Howard
- 27:49Speaker 2: and well, he was a kick returner mm hmm.
- 27:51Speaker 4: That was with the Packers when he ran, when he
- 27:53Speaker 4: housed it, You're.
- 27:55Speaker 1: Like, okay, you're not gonna claim him.
- 27:57Speaker 3: We'll claim I'm a teamer. You know, I'm a part
- 28:00Speaker 3: returner too, so we'll definitely claim him. But like when
- 28:04Speaker 3: you think of Dejien Howard, I don't remember him.
- 28:07Speaker 4: You remember him as.
- 28:08Speaker 3: His receiver, but he always had such a lectrifying like
- 28:11Speaker 3: kickoff returns.
- 28:13Speaker 4: I remember that when that was in the Super Bowl.
- 28:15Speaker 2: No, he's even fun.
- 28:20Speaker 3: And he was like remember him and Dante Hall back
- 28:22Speaker 3: in the day, do I joy.
- 28:24Speaker 2: Stick exactly you?
- 28:26Speaker 1: And then but then they followed up with, you know,
- 28:28Speaker 1: possibly the greatest returner ever just a few years later
- 28:31Speaker 1: with with Devin Hester, and I was like, I was.
- 28:33Speaker 2: Like, yeah, I was like, nobody's gonna be better than Dteo.
- 28:35Speaker 2: Devin Hester showed up. I was like nobody's gonna be
- 28:37Speaker 2: better than Danteo, than Devin Hester and Corde Cordero.
- 28:44Speaker 3: Well, okay, you gotta put some love to Cribs too.
- 28:47Speaker 3: Josh crib a monster on special teams for a long time.
- 28:53Speaker 3: And I remember when I was at Kent State and
- 28:56Speaker 3: he was the quarterback before me at Kent State. And
- 28:59Speaker 3: when we go up to Cleveland, people forget how big
- 29:02Speaker 3: Josh Cribbs was. I mean he was on the sides
- 29:04Speaker 3: of buildings for Nike ads, like the guy in Cleveland.
- 29:10Speaker 3: Their only form of any kind of offense, and it
- 29:13Speaker 3: was on special teams, and they used to do a
- 29:14Speaker 3: bunch of wildcat stuff. So Josh Cribbs got to be
- 29:18Speaker 3: put in there too. For returners, Sharon Sproles was really
- 29:22Speaker 3: good at a punt returning. Jackson DeShawn Jackson home runner.
- 29:30Speaker 3: I just still see him catching. I don't know, he's
- 29:32Speaker 3: still catching seventy yard touchdowns. I think he just caught
- 29:36Speaker 3: another fifty five yard touchdowns. I don't know how let
- 29:39Speaker 3: this guy get behind you every time every time because the.
- 29:43Speaker 1: Sort and has like the deceptive speed bro like, and
- 29:45Speaker 1: you're just like, how is he that fast gliding glid?
- 29:49Speaker 4: I mean that's that's one of these God touch you
- 29:54Speaker 4: with that.
- 29:54Speaker 1: Speed, guy give you a little he just touched you.
- 30:01Speaker 1: Oh man, I mean with with your Lester's career, Like
- 30:04Speaker 1: you know, you're you're coming up on eligibility of you
- 30:06Speaker 1: know what that h O F how you like? You
- 30:10Speaker 1: know how what does it even feel to be like
- 30:12Speaker 1: mentioned in that same sentence because that's that's rare air.
- 30:16Speaker 3: H you know, it's it's a it's pretty cool. I
- 30:24Speaker 3: mean usually it's a lot of negative talk if anyone's
- 30:27Speaker 3: talking about it, but uh, if they're talking about it
- 30:32Speaker 3: and even putting you in that sentence, uh, it's pretty
- 30:37Speaker 3: damn cool.
- 30:39Speaker 4: But ultimately that was never my goal.
- 30:42Speaker 3: Uh when I when I was playing football, my goal
- 30:45Speaker 3: is the the hote of a Lombardi Trophy. And I
- 30:48Speaker 3: got to do that three times and playing four times
- 30:52Speaker 3: five I didn't play with my A C.
- 30:55Speaker 4: L year.
- 30:55Speaker 3: But you know, so like that's where I'm content. But
- 30:59Speaker 3: you know, it's an absolute honor that people even talk
- 31:02Speaker 3: about it because you look at the names and the
- 31:04Speaker 3: people and the guys that I grew up watching and
- 31:07Speaker 3: guys peers that I played with that have already gone
- 31:11Speaker 3: in like you know, those that's that's the cream of
- 31:14Speaker 3: the crop right there.
- 31:15Speaker 1: Facts you look at your postseason status, I mean postseason
- 31:19Speaker 1: stats where you know, your stats speak the loudest, third
- 31:22Speaker 1: all time in playoff res even yards third all time,
- 31:24Speaker 1: and playoff receptions, like you know, like it's it's.
- 31:29Speaker 4: Yeah, it was a hell of a run. It was
- 31:32Speaker 4: a hell of a run.
- 31:33Speaker 1: Still gonna remember, probably one one of the greatest catches
- 31:36Speaker 1: in Super Bowl history.
- 31:37Speaker 2: So like if we're saying, we're saying, you know, those
- 31:40Speaker 2: stats matter.
- 31:41Speaker 4: I mean some would say that those stats matter the most,
- 31:44Speaker 4: but usually be winners.
- 31:48Speaker 2: You don't want three of them things lower.
- 31:53Speaker 3: Just you know, it was still cool to be a
- 31:55Speaker 3: part of that organization. I mean, I remember when I
- 31:58Speaker 3: got drafted New England. I was a huge Niners fan
- 32:03Speaker 3: growing up. Jerry Rice, Joe Montana, Roger Craig, Brent Jones,
- 32:08Speaker 3: Ken Norton and the success that they had when you know,
- 32:12Speaker 3: I was really young, and then they got the Super
- 32:14Speaker 3: Bowl in the nineties when I was pretty.
- 32:17Speaker 4: Much able to remember.
- 32:18Speaker 3: But they were such a folk lore of a team
- 32:21Speaker 3: to our family. And then to get drafted to New
- 32:24Speaker 3: England and they had three Super Bowls at the time when.
- 32:27Speaker 4: I got drafted there and they were kind of getting.
- 32:29Speaker 3: In that that like Niners, Steelers, Cowboys world of organizations.
- 32:38Speaker 4: You know. It was like it was just like I
- 32:40Speaker 4: was pinching myself because I was.
- 32:42Speaker 3: Like, man, I'm on the San Francisco forty nine ers
- 32:44Speaker 3: of this generation when I first got there, you know,
- 32:47Speaker 3: with Tom Brady had the quarterback and you had the
- 32:51Speaker 3: coach they had, you know, Niners have Bill Walsh, we
- 32:54Speaker 3: have Belichack and the great defenses and the key players around. Like,
- 32:59Speaker 3: it was just it was such a cool thing to
- 33:02Speaker 3: be a part of. I'm you know, I'm really thankful
- 33:06Speaker 3: for that. I don't know if it's because of Thanksgiving,
- 33:09Speaker 3: but I just got so much thankfulness going right.
- 33:10Speaker 1: Yeah, Okay, So you had Tom Brady and come out
- 33:14Speaker 1: of out of a you know, Michigan, and I was
- 33:17Speaker 1: like seven round pick in his story, your story, like
- 33:22Speaker 1: the fact that you guys are are great teammates.
- 33:24Speaker 2: I was just thinking, like, is there you know, I'm
- 33:26Speaker 2: thinking of.
- 33:27Speaker 1: The game last night when you watch you know, game whatever,
- 33:29Speaker 1: this last game where you watched Jameis Winston inspire the
- 33:33Speaker 1: Cleveland Browns to go rally past the Steelers.
- 33:35Speaker 2: I'm just thinking about get your lesture's career.
- 33:37Speaker 1: Was there ever a need for Tom to give you
- 33:39Speaker 1: like a rally who rah, like you know with you
- 33:42Speaker 1: guys padded the success was there? Was there every time
- 33:45Speaker 1: I was like, all right, this one we knew, we
- 33:47Speaker 1: go kick it in gear. I just I just feel
- 33:48Speaker 1: like Tom Brady in my mind is always like business
- 33:51Speaker 1: as usual. Look, we're gonna we're gonna give me, I'm
- 33:53Speaker 1: gonna take the rock. I'm gonna give you the rock.
- 33:55Speaker 1: We're gonna win.
- 33:56Speaker 3: Yeah, you know, there's definitely been some stuff captured on
- 34:00Speaker 3: the sidelines of Tom being vocal, but you know, as
- 34:05Speaker 3: with Tom, there was a lot of unseen stuff, individuals
- 34:09Speaker 3: stuff if he knew you were having a hard day,
- 34:12Speaker 3: or he knew something was going on in someone's life
- 34:15Speaker 3: or someone need to pick me up. You know, it
- 34:18Speaker 3: may not have been around people, but he you know,
- 34:21Speaker 3: he'd walk you over and you know.
- 34:23Speaker 4: See see what was up and what he could do
- 34:26Speaker 4: to help to get you better.
- 34:28Speaker 3: And I think there was countless of those times because,
- 34:32Speaker 3: as you know, the NFL season is such a grind mentally, emotionally, physically,
- 34:39Speaker 3: and that's all just within the game, and the people
- 34:42Speaker 3: don't realize that you're a regular human being and you
- 34:44Speaker 3: have off the field and regular life stuff that you
- 34:48Speaker 3: have to deal with. Family, male family matters, health of family,
- 34:54Speaker 3: things of those magnitude and those things going on in
- 34:57Speaker 3: your life, which that's hard to juggle for young eyes.
- 35:00Speaker 3: And you know Tom was a vetro and I got
- 35:02Speaker 3: in there, so he was as he was always a
- 35:04Speaker 3: great guy that could you know, give me through his
- 35:06Speaker 3: experience advice. So he's he's always a guy that could
- 35:12Speaker 3: with a lot of guys, you know, with with anyone.
- 35:14Speaker 3: It wouldn't be necessarily in front of people, but he
- 35:17Speaker 3: would always kind of, you know, buddy up with you
- 35:21Speaker 3: in the locker room and kind of see what was
- 35:23Speaker 3: going on.
- 35:24Speaker 2: Mmm.
- 35:27Speaker 3: I mean true leaders, leaders all, they all have different
- 35:30Speaker 3: ways of leading.
- 35:31Speaker 2: Facts. Facts all.
- 35:33Speaker 1: Let's let's transition to a little bit lighter talk about
- 35:35Speaker 1: a fun topic just because you know, now you're in
- 35:38Speaker 1: LA you've spent your entire career with Boston. Hit a
- 35:41Speaker 1: little East coast versus West coast lower here, but we'll
- 35:45Speaker 1: do a fun section called versus where you know we'll
- 35:49Speaker 1: ask you, I'll ask you a few questions about which
- 35:52Speaker 1: is better l A or Boston.
- 35:54Speaker 2: You know.
- 35:55Speaker 1: And as a fact, kid, we're gonna start off with
- 35:56Speaker 1: the important question better food.
- 36:00Speaker 4: Oh it's tough. I have to go l A. Yeah,
- 36:04Speaker 4: I have to go La.
- 36:05Speaker 3: Now if you want like unbelievable lobster oysters.
- 36:09Speaker 4: Italian.
- 36:11Speaker 3: Uh, Boston is really great, but I have a bias
- 36:15Speaker 3: because I come.
- 36:16Speaker 4: I'm from California and.
- 36:18Speaker 3: I love Mexican food and the Mexican food out and
- 36:22Speaker 3: in Boston I found my one what is it a
- 36:26Speaker 3: hualastcos is pretty good.
- 36:27Speaker 4: But just pound for pound thanking out here. I gotta
- 36:33Speaker 4: go with the Mexican.
- 36:34Speaker 3: I can't get the Italian of the East Coast, but
- 36:36Speaker 3: I'm a Mexican food guy.
- 36:38Speaker 4: I'd rather go on to Enchilada.
- 36:40Speaker 1: Oh I'm a Chili riano or carneacta fries. Every time
- 36:44Speaker 1: I hit the West Coast, I need the carneo fries.
- 36:46Speaker 1: They're not hitting the same in Louisiana. Nah, all right, no, Uh,
- 36:50Speaker 1: you're better restaurants.
- 36:54Speaker 4: Better.
- 36:55Speaker 3: See that's a I like that difference of that question.
- 36:59Speaker 3: I would go with Boston. I have more fun and
- 37:02Speaker 3: I like the restaurant game there because it's a different environment. Uh,
- 37:07Speaker 3: you know, La, you go to the restaurant and seen
- 37:10Speaker 3: and see me. You know, sometimes you just want to
- 37:13Speaker 3: go have a nice meal with a couple of boys
- 37:16Speaker 3: in like a little little Brownstone under you know, an
- 37:22Speaker 3: establishment in Boston where you to hide out, get some
- 37:26Speaker 3: you know, oysters, get you know, so for restaurants. And
- 37:31Speaker 3: I love you know, Ken Oranger and his restaurants out
- 37:34Speaker 3: in Boston, a bunch. I got a bunch of friends
- 37:36Speaker 3: in that chef world in Boston. I'm gonna have to
- 37:39Speaker 3: go with Boston.
- 37:41Speaker 2: Better night life, la Yeah, easily, easily.
- 37:48Speaker 1: I feel like the one time I went to Boston,
- 37:50Speaker 1: I think they like they kept the bottles or something
- 37:53Speaker 1: like that, and they would like only like the poor.
- 37:56Speaker 3: You know, you got to you gotta realize, you know,
- 37:58Speaker 3: I played for the Patriot.
- 38:00Speaker 4: It's you.
- 38:01Speaker 2: You're doing to do what you wanted.
- 38:03Speaker 3: You could do that. We had a lot of wins.
- 38:05Speaker 3: We had a lot of fun times. I love the
- 38:07Speaker 3: night life in Boston. But some like, you go to Boston,
- 38:13Speaker 3: everyone's gonna be watching you.
- 38:15Speaker 2: You go to l a nobody caps.
- 38:17Speaker 4: Right next door, ain't nobody watching?
- 38:19Speaker 2: Nobody cares?
- 38:20Speaker 1: Too many sports teams, too many celebrities, too many flights
- 38:23Speaker 1: on the.
- 38:23Speaker 3: Street, you ain't going you see Tom Hanks and Pole Foods,
- 38:26Speaker 3: you ain't messing with him with me.
- 38:30Speaker 2: Better sports city as far as teams, fans and traditions.
- 38:33Speaker 4: Oh it's come on, It's titled town Boston.
- 38:37Speaker 3: I mean I went to every damn championship there was
- 38:40Speaker 3: in pro sport. I played in Super Bowls, won Super Bowls.
- 38:44Speaker 3: I went to you know, the Bruins winning the Cup.
- 38:48Speaker 3: I've been to the Red Sox winning the championship, sat
- 38:51Speaker 3: courtside with the Celtics winning the championships.
- 38:54Speaker 4: I've been to them all. I've been to them all.
- 38:57Speaker 2: You can't argue that better vibe I like.
- 39:01Speaker 4: I like the Boston vibe. Yeah, you know l A.
- 39:07Speaker 4: You know how LA is. Everyone's after here.
- 39:10Speaker 1: Yeah, but I's actingst They.
- 39:13Speaker 4: Might be a little meaner, but they're not meaner. They're
- 39:16Speaker 4: just honest.
- 39:17Speaker 2: Is that what you're gonna cover for them? Got it?
- 39:19Speaker 2: Got it?
- 39:19Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 39:20Speaker 2: Honest?
- 39:20Speaker 3: But I tell you right now, you walk down the
- 39:22Speaker 3: street in Boston, you say hi to someone, They're gonna
- 39:24Speaker 3: look at you sideways.
- 39:25Speaker 4: You do that, and someone's gonna be, oh, what do
- 39:27Speaker 4: you do this?
- 39:28Speaker 2: That?
- 39:29Speaker 4: But if you walk down the street.
- 39:31Speaker 3: In Boston and something happened to you and you got
- 39:35Speaker 3: hit or some you were injured, you needed help. That
- 39:39Speaker 3: mean ass person that wouldn't say anything to you would
- 39:42Speaker 3: help you more than the person in LA would help you.
- 39:45Speaker 2: Mm hmm okay, solid right there.
- 39:49Speaker 3: That's It'd be an asshole the whole time doing it, but.
- 39:52Speaker 2: They would help you. How you running the street and
- 39:56Speaker 2: you didn't see it coming.
- 39:56Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I got a clear I got a terrible
- 39:59Speaker 1: Boston accent. I would never get it down.
