- 0:05Speaker 1: Obviously Thanksgiving was last week. We hope you had a
- 0:08Speaker 1: wonderful day. We hope you got maybe a day or
- 0:10Speaker 1: two off of work, preferably. We hope the family was awesome.
- 0:14Speaker 1: You know, Uncle Frank didn't get too drunk on Boone
- 0:18Speaker 1: Farm again. And we hope you didn't have any exploding turkeys.
- 0:21Speaker 1: Well you tried to what's that call redrop him in
- 0:24Speaker 1: the word deep fry, Well as you tried to deep
- 0:26Speaker 1: fry your turkey.
- 0:27Speaker 2: Thank you, Andrew. How was your Thanksgiving?
- 0:29Speaker 3: It was so good?
- 0:30Speaker 4: It was My least favorite holiday is Thanksgiving? Right, I'm
- 0:36Speaker 4: not a fan, not into it, and I actually had
- 0:41Speaker 4: a blast. I had the best Thanksgiving. It was such
- 0:44Speaker 4: a good time. We had a lot of good food,
- 0:46Speaker 4: We had a lot of good quality family time.
- 0:49Speaker 3: It was really nice.
- 0:51Speaker 2: What about yours? It was great.
- 0:52Speaker 1: It was really cool hanging out with the Cory's family.
- 0:55Speaker 1: They got Thanksgiving this year, so I think that means
- 0:58Speaker 1: my family gets Christmas. Oun't really ah works. We used
- 1:01Speaker 1: to kind of have guidelines we went by, but those
- 1:03Speaker 1: have gone on the window. Well, if you have got
- 1:06Speaker 1: leftovers in your fridge, today is the last day, supposedly
- 1:14Speaker 1: that you can safely eat those.
- 1:15Speaker 2: Okay.
- 1:16Speaker 1: If your fridge is anything like ours and you're doing
- 1:18Speaker 1: tetris trying to get things in and out of that, yeah,
- 1:21Speaker 1: you'll want to either A eat those leftovers today. Maybe
- 1:26Speaker 1: just go buffet style and redo Thanksgiving tonight with the
- 1:29Speaker 1: family to try to clear out the fridge. Yeah, or
- 1:33Speaker 1: get them in the freezer a sap all right. According
- 1:36Speaker 1: to the USDA, turkey, stuffing, potatoes, sweet potatoes, green beans, gravy,
- 1:41Speaker 1: and pumpkin pie can all be stored in the fridge
- 1:44Speaker 1: for three to four ish days if you don't want
- 1:47Speaker 1: to waste the food you have. Most of those leftovers
- 1:49Speaker 1: can last a few months in the freezer.
- 1:52Speaker 3: And a freezer that's doing them all.
- 1:54Speaker 5: Now.
- 1:54Speaker 2: If you don't have a freezer, you know what you.
- 1:56Speaker 3: Do, put it outside, towsome outside.
- 2:01Speaker 2: So get those leftovers eaten or eight eaten. Thank you,
- 2:05Speaker 2: Eat those.
- 2:06Speaker 1: And enjoy your last day of safely consuming those before
- 2:12Speaker 1: you're calling up lumber, last the toilet.
- 2:18Speaker 6: Celebrating life's little victories victory every morning we practice gratitude
- 2:23Speaker 6: on Big ninety eight point seven.
- 2:25Speaker 5: If I could, I would keep this feeling in a
- 2:27Speaker 5: basket job busted out when it was someone's acting hard.
- 2:30Speaker 6: I just really needed to win, you know, sure your
- 2:33Speaker 6: little victories with us at seven oh one, two and
- 2:36Speaker 6: one eight seven.
- 2:39Speaker 1: All right, little victories, Happy Monday. We hope you had
- 2:42Speaker 1: a wonderful Thanksgiving. Maybe you had a day or two
- 2:44Speaker 1: off and I got to spend some time with the family.
- 2:47Speaker 1: We practice gratitude every day here on Big nine eight seven,
- 2:50Speaker 1: and I'll tell you what. I don't know what it is,
- 2:53Speaker 1: but there's something about practicing gratitude in December that just
- 2:57Speaker 1: hits a tiny bit different than in March.
- 2:59Speaker 2: Okay, I don't know.
- 2:59Speaker 1: Why it is what it is, but we do have
- 3:03Speaker 1: a little victory. This is from Ellie. She said, Hi,
- 3:06Speaker 1: Gabe and Angie. My little victory this morning is that I,
- 3:10Speaker 1: like Gabe, made my first Thanksgiving turkey and it turned
- 3:14Speaker 1: out okay. Oh yes, she wouldn't say great, but she
- 3:18Speaker 1: said it was definitely solid dot dot dot at least edible.
- 3:22Speaker 2: Okay, she said, I was happy.
- 3:23Speaker 1: All that matters, That's right, She said, I was happy
- 3:25Speaker 1: and am really excited to make a few adjustments next year.
- 3:29Speaker 2: Ellie. So Ellie, congratulations.
- 3:32Speaker 1: It can be uh, it can be a little scary
- 3:34Speaker 1: making the Thanksgiving turkey, I would say, because if it
- 3:37Speaker 1: kind of doesn't turn out, you really hope the other
- 3:39Speaker 1: stuff does well.
- 3:40Speaker 4: At least it was okay, And the only way that
- 3:42Speaker 4: she's gonna get better is by doing that's right, Right,
- 3:45Speaker 4: So she took the first step and it was okay.
- 3:46Speaker 4: It was solid, and that's what Thanksgiving sides are for. Okay,
- 3:50Speaker 4: the one hundred, you've got other stuff you can eat.
- 3:53Speaker 2: That's right, Angie. Do you have a little victory this morning?
- 3:56Speaker 4: I do, and it's not even Christmas related, which you
- 3:59Speaker 4: would think I showed up here in a Christmas sweater. However,
- 4:03Speaker 4: this one's for you, Gabe. This was on Wednesday, on
- 4:07Speaker 4: the way home from work, stepped at the Quickstar and
- 4:12Speaker 4: grabbed two boxes of chicken. All right, let's go, Mikey said.
- 4:18Speaker 3: It was a ten out of ten.
- 4:20Speaker 2: They're so good.
- 4:20Speaker 4: Yeah, the kids gave it an eight out of ten.
- 4:22Speaker 4: And when I said eight out of ten, why, they said, well,
- 4:25Speaker 4: we just can't give anything a ten. Yeah, that's right.
- 4:27Speaker 4: But they loved it and that kept them happy and
- 4:29Speaker 4: fed for the rest of the evening on Wednesday.
- 4:32Speaker 3: So, yeah, that was the little victory.
- 4:34Speaker 1: I love that I've been telling. If you do not
- 4:36Speaker 1: know the backstory of that. I've been telling Angie about
- 4:39Speaker 1: that chicken for like a year, for literally like a year.
- 4:44Speaker 1: It's pretty incredible. So I think that's great. I'm very
- 4:47Speaker 1: happy for you. I'm glad they got to experience the
- 4:50Speaker 1: quick chicken there.
- 4:51Speaker 3: All right, you Gabe, what's what's your little victory?
- 4:54Speaker 2: My little victory?
- 4:55Speaker 1: So I was a horrible younger brother On my older
- 4:59Speaker 1: brother birthday on November twenty fourth, I.
- 5:02Speaker 2: Basically kind of forgot all about it.
- 5:05Speaker 1: I didn't really forget all about it, but I did
- 5:07Speaker 1: forget to wish him a happy birthday, all right, So
- 5:09Speaker 1: I did get to tell him happy birthday in person.
- 5:13Speaker 1: But also I'm gonna try to make up for that.
- 5:15Speaker 1: All we can do is try to be better the
- 5:17Speaker 1: next day. Okay, every day you wake up, you just
- 5:19Speaker 1: try to be better the next day. I will remember
- 5:23Speaker 1: today to wish my younger sister a happy birthday. Okay,
- 5:26Speaker 1: happy birthday to my younger sister today. I hope you
- 5:30Speaker 1: have a wonderful day. So my brother's birthdays, I think
- 5:34Speaker 1: I know where you're going in.
- 5:35Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 5:35Speaker 1: Yeah, my brother's birthday is November twenty fourth. My sister's
- 5:40Speaker 1: birthday is December first, and my birthday is this Friday,
- 5:44Speaker 1: on December fifth, so my parents really like March.
- 5:47Speaker 2: If my math is correct.
- 5:50Speaker 1: If you ever have a little victory and want to
- 5:52Speaker 1: send us one, do that. We love hearing your great stories,
- 5:55Speaker 1: just little fun things to be positive about every morning
- 5:57Speaker 1: at seven oh one two eight zero one seven. And
- 6:03Speaker 1: just as guaranteed as the sun is going to rise
- 6:06Speaker 1: in the east and set in the west, it'll start
- 6:09Speaker 1: to get cold in November and December. In the FM area,
- 6:13Speaker 1: Christmas season has arrived.
- 6:16Speaker 2: It is December first.
- 6:20Speaker 1: If you are a celebrator of Christmas, maybe your family
- 6:23Speaker 1: has some really cool Christmas traditions. All right, Dad makes
- 6:28Speaker 1: prime rib every year and Mom absolutely slays it on
- 6:32Speaker 1: the mashed potatoes with garlic butter or whatever that tradition
- 6:36Speaker 1: might be. Do you have a tradition, and you can
- 6:38Speaker 1: go ahead and be honest with me, because there is
- 6:40Speaker 1: one at my house that I am going to do
- 6:43Speaker 1: everything in my power to put an end to.
- 6:46Speaker 2: Next year.
- 6:46Speaker 3: You want to end traditions.
- 6:49Speaker 1: There is a tradition I would like to stop at
- 6:51Speaker 1: my house. But if you have one, let us know
- 6:54Speaker 1: At seven oh one two eight zero one nine eight seven.
- 6:57Speaker 1: All of the traditions you love? That's one full. It's beautiful.
- 7:01Speaker 1: Is there a tradition that it's gotta go?
- 7:04Speaker 2: Okay?
- 7:05Speaker 1: This December is the December you put your foot down.
- 7:09Speaker 1: Let us know, call us for Texas seven oh one
- 7:10Speaker 1: too eight zero one to nine eight seven. Do you
- 7:12Speaker 1: have a tradition like that?
- 7:13Speaker 3: This is so funny to me.
- 7:14Speaker 4: I'm so on the opposite end of the spectrum with
- 7:17Speaker 4: this one because I feel like I didn't.
- 7:19Speaker 3: Have enough for my liking.
- 7:21Speaker 4: I didn't have enough Christmas traditions growing up, so I
- 7:25Speaker 4: want to add more.
- 7:26Speaker 3: I want to add more traditions.
- 7:28Speaker 4: In fact, for Thanksgiving, we just started a new tradition,
- 7:31Speaker 4: which was to have Thanksgiving lunch Charlie Brown style. So
- 7:36Speaker 4: it's the Thanksgiving meal that Snoopy makes for Charlie Brown
- 7:40Speaker 4: and his friends. Sure in the special, it's buttered toast, popcorn,
- 7:45Speaker 4: pretzel sticks, and jelly beans. And so we started that
- 7:48Speaker 4: this year and it's like this is what we're so
- 7:50Speaker 4: whatever is happening in the Charlie Brown Christmas Special, I
- 7:54Speaker 4: need to watch. We're probably gonna add that tradition to ours,
- 7:57Speaker 4: Like I want more traditions. What are you trying to stop, Gabe.
- 8:02Speaker 1: To me, it just sounds like you have a tradition.
- 8:05Speaker 1: Your kids are gonna try to stop one day.
- 8:07Speaker 3: Oh my god, they probably will.
- 8:09Speaker 1: I'll tell you mine after Jackie, Jackie, do you have
- 8:11Speaker 1: a Christmas tradition or you know, just a holiday tradition you'd.
- 8:14Speaker 2: Like to stop.
- 8:15Speaker 5: Everyone must stay the whole day holiday rules.
- 8:18Speaker 3: My family acts like leaving before midnight is a personal attack.
- 8:22Speaker 2: Oh wow. See, my family's the opposite.
- 8:25Speaker 3: Oh, they like get out and.
- 8:26Speaker 1: When we have like big family get togethers, I mean
- 8:29Speaker 1: kind of once the hull of balloo is over, everyone's slowly.
- 8:32Speaker 2: It's pretty good about leaving before five.
- 8:34Speaker 3: Well, that's funny.
- 8:36Speaker 1: You know, there's a tradition at my house i'd really
- 8:38Speaker 1: like to stop. Every year we put up the tree,
- 8:43Speaker 1: and every year our cats go ahead and ruin the
- 8:47Speaker 1: dang tree. It's just I would do anything to put
- 8:50Speaker 1: an end to that tradition at my house forever.
- 8:52Speaker 2: What about you?
- 8:53Speaker 5: My family who always goes camping on the first week
- 8:56Speaker 5: of every summer, and I hate it. It's always super
- 8:59Speaker 5: hot and they're bugs everywhere. I'm just not a fan
- 9:03Speaker 5: of camping in general.
- 9:04Speaker 2: So that's like it's not a holiday tradition.
- 9:07Speaker 3: That's so, that's just what he was like. I felt
- 9:09Speaker 3: that in my soul.
- 9:10Speaker 4: I had to get off my chest.
- 9:14Speaker 2: This is am I the problem.
- 9:17Speaker 3: It's me, Hi the problem, it's me.
- 9:22Speaker 6: We'll hear one side of the story and with your
- 9:24Speaker 6: help probably decide if it's right or if maybe you're
- 9:29Speaker 6: the problem.
- 9:30Speaker 3: That's right, I am a problem on Big.
- 9:33Speaker 2: Ninety eight point seven.
- 9:36Speaker 4: Say if any wrote into us Gabe with a classic
- 9:39Speaker 4: I hooked up with my friend's X.
- 9:41Speaker 2: Here we go.
- 9:42Speaker 4: I hooked up with my friend's ex, but I think
- 9:44Speaker 4: I should get a pass.
- 9:46Speaker 3: I had a crush on him first for a.
- 9:48Speaker 4: Very long time, but she's more outgoing than me, and
- 9:52Speaker 4: she started talking to him first.
- 9:54Speaker 3: He flirted with both of us for a while, but.
- 9:56Speaker 4: He chose her and they dated for like six months
- 9:59Speaker 4: and I barely even saw her or them while they dated.
- 10:03Speaker 4: When they broke up, she reached out to me and
- 10:05Speaker 4: we started hanging out all the time again. She said
- 10:09Speaker 4: they broke up because he's manipulative and gaslights or whatever,
- 10:13Speaker 4: and she lost feelings. They've been broken up for six
- 10:16Speaker 4: months ish now. He started refollowed me. Oh, you had
- 10:21Speaker 4: a typo girl. He started following me on Snap and
- 10:26Speaker 4: ig and started hearting my stories, and we hung out
- 10:29Speaker 4: and hooked up a few times.
- 10:32Speaker 3: I wasn't trying to date him, but I just had to.
- 10:35Speaker 4: Find out what being with him was like since I
- 10:38Speaker 4: had the biggest crush on him for so long.
- 10:40Speaker 3: I'm worried if.
- 10:41Speaker 4: She finds out, she's gonna be mad as hell. But
- 10:44Speaker 4: I really think this isn't actually bad. What do you think?
- 10:48Speaker 1: I can't help, but lev who'd have thought fellas All
- 10:51Speaker 1: it took was to like a story or two on
- 10:53Speaker 1: Instagram with a heart. Well, here's what I'll say. Okay,
- 11:00Speaker 1: I'm not trying to justify our actions. This obviously is
- 11:03Speaker 1: not great, but it doesn't sound like you and this
- 11:06Speaker 1: girl were that great of friends. She gets a boyfriend
- 11:09Speaker 1: and you, guys just stop hanging out Like this girl
- 11:11Speaker 1: isn't really your bestie, that's your acquaintance.
- 11:14Speaker 2: Who cares if you hook up with your acquaintances?
- 11:16Speaker 3: X Oh my gosh, GiB that's.
- 11:19Speaker 2: Not your friend?
- 11:19Speaker 1: Really?
- 11:21Speaker 2: Well, what you're not friends anymore because of a dude?
- 11:24Speaker 2: That friendship wasn't that strong to begin with.
- 11:27Speaker 4: What are your thoughts? Seven oh one two eight oh one,
- 11:29Speaker 4: nine eighty seven. I think the fact that she wrote
- 11:33Speaker 4: to us in the first place, on some level she
- 11:37Speaker 4: knows the same Great.
- 11:38Speaker 2: Yeah, ain't great.
- 11:40Speaker 3: It's a bad look. I think if we really like
- 11:44Speaker 3: pare it down. I think they broke up.
- 11:48Speaker 4: They've been broken up for as long a time as
- 11:50Speaker 4: they were even together, right, So I feel like that
- 11:53Speaker 4: kind of cancels things out. I don't think it's the worst.
- 11:56Speaker 4: She's not trying to date him for real, she just
- 11:59Speaker 4: wanted to. We've all been there. We've all had that crush.
- 12:02Speaker 4: In fact, I've been there. No, we've all had that
- 12:05Speaker 4: crush where you just have to see what it's like
- 12:09Speaker 4: because you had dreamt about it for so long, you
- 12:11Speaker 4: know what I mean. Yeah, it seems like she got
- 12:13Speaker 4: it out of her system.
- 12:15Speaker 3: She just doesn't want her friend to find out.
- 12:18Speaker 1: Seven oh one two eight zero one nine eight seven. Uh,
- 12:22Speaker 1: what do you think? And this girl gave us her name?
- 12:25Speaker 4: I feel like there are a lot of Tiffany's in
- 12:27Speaker 4: the land, right, she didn't sit Now, if she would
- 12:30Speaker 4: have said my friend and then whoever the name is,
- 12:33Speaker 4: that would have been a problem. But Tiffany wrote in
- 12:41Speaker 4: wondering if she's the problem because she hooked up with
- 12:44Speaker 4: her friend's ex. But she said, I had a crush
- 12:49Speaker 4: on him first, she just had to find out what
- 12:53Speaker 4: it was like. Now, I mean they were broken up.
- 12:55Speaker 4: It's not like there was a cheating thing. But she
- 12:58Speaker 4: wants to know if my friend five.
- 13:00Speaker 3: Should I be worried?
- 13:01Speaker 1: Yeah, I tell you what, this might must be one
- 13:04Speaker 1: hunk of a guy. Best he's fighting over him. Good
- 13:08Speaker 1: for him, dude. Okay, I didn't say this. Okay, well,
- 13:13Speaker 1: I'll tell you that one in one second. We did
- 13:14Speaker 1: just get another text here. This person said she's justified
- 13:19Speaker 1: she shouldn't get worked up over something that can be
- 13:22Speaker 1: swept under the rug.
- 13:25Speaker 3: Nice, what she doesn't know won't hurt her. But what
- 13:28Speaker 3: what if you take the rug up?
- 13:30Speaker 1: Like yeah, I mean at some point you got to
- 13:32Speaker 1: vacuum up the dust and it comes up, you know. Yeah, So, yeah,
- 13:35Speaker 1: I guess you're right. If you can just lie your
- 13:37Speaker 1: whole life, it'll.
- 13:37Speaker 2: Be fine.
- 13:40Speaker 1: And kind of keep it under wraps, it'll be fine
- 13:43Speaker 1: until it isn't.
- 13:44Speaker 4: Until it isn't well, at the very least by yourself
- 13:47Speaker 4: some time, try and make sure that your friend doesn't
- 13:49Speaker 4: find out.
- 13:50Speaker 1: Yeah, Well, Angie, you're the resident woman here on ninety
- 13:53Speaker 1: eight point seven.
- 13:54Speaker 2: Would you be upset if this were you?
- 13:57Speaker 4: If I were you were the girl Tiffany's friend you, No, No,
- 14:02Speaker 4: I don't think I would be upset. In fact, I
- 14:04Speaker 4: was in a similar situation years ago. I feel like
- 14:09Speaker 4: Tiffany sounds young and back when I was young, because
- 14:12Speaker 4: it ain't now.
- 14:13Speaker 3: Back when I was young, I dated a guy.
- 14:15Speaker 4: I ended up not being super into him, and I
- 14:17Speaker 4: had a close friend who hooked up with him, and
- 14:19Speaker 4: she told me and she was so stressed out about
- 14:23Speaker 4: it and she was crying, and I was like, that's fine,
- 14:25Speaker 4: Like I just didn't care that much because I'm not
- 14:27Speaker 4: with him anymore. She wasn't trying to date him. I
- 14:30Speaker 4: feel like, in the grand scheme of things, it's not
- 14:32Speaker 4: the worst.
- 14:33Speaker 1: Yeah, maybe her friend wouldn't really care. She'd be like, oh,
- 14:35Speaker 1: that's fine. It wasn't all that it's cracked up to be.
- 14:38Speaker 3: Wasn't compared notes, Yeah, right, all right.
- 14:41Speaker 1: And then finally I didn't say this, Alie said this.
- 14:45Speaker 4: Okay, I'm really concerned with how emphatic you are that
- 14:49Speaker 4: you didn't say it.
- 14:49Speaker 3: Okay, what Allie say.
- 14:51Speaker 1: When Ali under the bus here, Ali said besties before
- 14:57Speaker 1: testes to be honest, but she also she also said,
- 15:01Speaker 1: I'm with Gabe here. They weren't really friends. It sounds
- 15:03Speaker 1: like they weren't that close. What one of them gets
- 15:05Speaker 1: a boyfriend, they just aren't friends anymore. They don't hang out.
- 15:08Speaker 1: I stand when your friends get a significant other, how
- 15:12Speaker 1: maybe the amount of time you get to spend together
- 15:15Speaker 1: decreases just because they now have to share part of
- 15:18Speaker 1: their time with this other person. But to basically fall
- 15:21Speaker 1: apart for six seven months, yeah.
- 15:23Speaker 3: She said they barely sighed each other.
- 15:25Speaker 4: Now that might beg the question what do you consider barely?
- 15:29Speaker 3: But I think, Tiffany, you're in the clear.
- 15:34Speaker 1: Rocket maybe not quite a rocket man, but a roquette woman,
- 15:42Speaker 1: Angie maybe potentially.
- 15:45Speaker 4: This all started a few weeks ago. I saw the
- 15:48Speaker 4: Rockets on the Today Show. They were performing a little
- 15:52Speaker 4: routine on the plaza, and I looked at that screen
- 15:54Speaker 4: and all that I can do that.
- 15:56Speaker 3: I could be a roquette. I don't have the height.
- 15:58Speaker 2: There's some confidence in there.
- 16:00Speaker 4: There was, yes, and so then Gabe challenged me to
- 16:04Speaker 4: not become an official rocket that's entirely too difficult, but
- 16:08Speaker 4: to put together a roquette style routine. And then I
- 16:12Speaker 4: had one month to get it together and then perform this.
- 16:16Speaker 4: So next Tuesday, oh my gosh, already next Tuesday, I
- 16:22Speaker 4: need to perform this rockettes routine. Now, if anybody watched
- 16:25Speaker 4: the Macy Thanksgiving Day parade, the rockets are celebrating one
- 16:30Speaker 4: hundred years of rockets, and so.
- 16:33Speaker 2: They'd been rocketting for one hundred years.
- 16:36Speaker 4: Yes, and so they did a performance. And if you
- 16:39Speaker 4: go to the Big ninety eight point seven Facebook page,
- 16:43Speaker 4: you can see the video. I tried to keep up
- 16:45Speaker 4: with this performance and mimic the moves, and I mean,
- 16:50Speaker 4: you have to watch for yourself. It's there on the
- 16:52Speaker 4: Big ninety eight point seven Facebook page.
- 16:54Speaker 3: Not great, Gabe, not great.
- 16:57Speaker 1: Well, there's at least we know what our starting point is.
- 17:00Speaker 1: We know we know where the floor is.
- 17:02Speaker 3: Now.
- 17:02Speaker 2: How high can we build this now?
- 17:03Speaker 4: How high can we build this? How high can I kick?
- 17:06Speaker 4: That's the big thing is the Roquette kicks. So thankfully
- 17:11Speaker 4: Base Studios, Base Dance Studios, Amanda, who runs it, she
- 17:17Speaker 4: reached out when I initially talked about wanting to be Roquette,
- 17:21Speaker 4: and she said, we'll help you.
- 17:22Speaker 3: You need all the help you can get.
- 17:23Speaker 4: No, she didn't say that, but she did reach out
- 17:26Speaker 4: and say that she wanted to help. So tomorrow, Gabe,
- 17:30Speaker 4: I've got a training session in the evening, and I
- 17:34Speaker 4: think this is my only chance to really train with
- 17:37Speaker 4: professionals who know what they're doing, and so I'm going
- 17:40Speaker 4: to try and absorb as much as i can. Obviously
- 17:45Speaker 4: gonna record it to see how far I can go.
- 17:50Speaker 3: I'm really nervous about this.
- 17:52Speaker 1: And I'm curious what roquet training looks like. Is it
- 17:56Speaker 1: combo dance combo, maybe cheer squad because there's a lot
- 18:00Speaker 1: of kicks in cheer, there's obviously some dance moves involved.
- 18:04Speaker 2: Is it a little combo of both? Are they?
- 18:06Speaker 1: Are you just gonna sit and do the splits all
- 18:08Speaker 1: day to try to get more flexible.
- 18:09Speaker 3: I don't know. I mean, at the very least, I
- 18:12Speaker 3: know it's not like Rocky training.
- 18:13Speaker 4: I don't have to like punch meats that are hanging
- 18:16Speaker 4: in a freezer or anything, so it's not gonna be
- 18:18Speaker 4: the worst. I just I'm excited to learn, and come
- 18:23Speaker 4: December eighth, which is next Tuesday, I will hot ninth.
- 18:27Speaker 2: I think that night Tuesday.
- 18:29Speaker 4: I just next Tuesday, I will have a rocket style
- 18:33Speaker 4: performance to unveil, and if I do a great job,
- 18:39Speaker 4: we will give all the credit to Base Dance Studios.
- 18:41Speaker 4: If I do a terrible job, some students can't be taught.
- 18:45Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 18:49Speaker 6: I starting off the day with something good. This is
- 18:55Speaker 6: Gabe's good news on Big ninety eight point seven.
- 18:59Speaker 1: Maybe this happened while you were spending some Thanksgiving time
- 19:02Speaker 1: with your family this weekend or whatever. You're hanging out,
- 19:06Speaker 1: you're eating your food, you're stuffed, and then one of
- 19:09Speaker 1: the older relatives jumps into a story about the blizzard
- 19:12Speaker 1: of sixty six or that time you know they climbed
- 19:15Speaker 1: the water tower or whatever the story would be, and
- 19:17Speaker 1: you went, we should write this down, and then you
- 19:20Speaker 1: never do well. That's where Fargo's Valerie Monson comes in.
- 19:24Speaker 1: She's the founder of History Catchers, which is a business
- 19:28Speaker 1: that records family stories on video, audio or in written
- 19:32Speaker 1: mini biographies. She interviews loved ones, scans photos, and creates
- 19:36Speaker 1: what she calls a documentary of you. This idea started
- 19:41Speaker 1: when she was eleven interviewing her great grandmother, Mabel, who
- 19:45Speaker 1: was a tiny but tough twenty year old who single
- 19:48Speaker 1: handedly kept the Dilworth train depot running during the nineteen
- 19:53Speaker 1: eighteen flu pandemic.
- 19:55Speaker 2: What that's for me?
- 19:56Speaker 1: Yeah, that story would have been lost if Valerie hadn't
- 19:59Speaker 1: record arded it well. Years later, after gathering more stories
- 20:03Speaker 1: from her own grandparents, she realized how precious these memories are,
- 20:07Speaker 1: and she built a business to help families save theirs.
- 20:10Speaker 1: Monson launched History Catchers last year working with a business
- 20:14Speaker 1: advisor at the North Dakota Small Business Development Center, and
- 20:18Speaker 1: they told her there's nothing you can't do today. She
- 20:22Speaker 1: walks into living rooms and sits at kitchen tables to
- 20:25Speaker 1: ask people about their lives. She prepares clients in advance
- 20:28Speaker 1: with simple questions like what was your first memory, what
- 20:32Speaker 1: modern technology changed your life? And what message do you
- 20:36Speaker 1: want to leave for your grandchildren? And she turns these
- 20:39Speaker 1: into these, as she called it, many kind of documentaries
- 20:42Speaker 1: or mini biographies.
- 20:43Speaker 2: How sweet is that?
- 20:44Speaker 3: Why am I so emotional about this?
- 20:46Speaker 4: I think this is My mom has the most incredible stories,
- 20:51Speaker 4: and I try to relay them to my kids. This
- 20:53Speaker 4: is something I absolutely have to do. My mom's immigration
- 20:56Speaker 4: story from Cuba is so intense and so beautiful. Yeah,
- 21:00Speaker 4: and that needs to be documented. This is amazing, What
- 21:03Speaker 4: a cool business.
- 21:04Speaker 1: Yes, so once again, her name is Valerie Munson and
- 21:08Speaker 1: it's just a really cool idea.
- 21:10Speaker 2: It's called History Catchers the business.
- 21:13Speaker 1: So if that's something you think you'd be interested, and
- 21:15Speaker 1: I think it'd be worth checking out. But what just
- 21:16Speaker 1: a cool thing for her to do, and how sweet
- 21:19Speaker 1: preserving history a little bit, that's wonderful. The world's full
- 21:22Speaker 1: of nice people. If you can't find one, you gotta
- 21:24Speaker 1: be one.
