- 0:00Speaker 1: Previously on Relatables Baddie's book Club.
- 0:02Speaker 2: I think that the King has brought Roland, Dorian's cousin,
- 0:07Speaker 2: from some other little like city that's like a nothing
- 0:11Speaker 2: city because they have no army or nothing like that.
- 0:13Speaker 2: They have like a guard, but like they're of royal blood,
- 0:16Speaker 2: but they just kind of have this city that's a
- 0:17Speaker 2: nothing city. I think that he's grooming Roland to take
- 0:21Speaker 2: over from him and Dorian. Oh, he's going to give
- 0:24Speaker 2: He's going to get Roland to be the king of
- 0:25Speaker 2: not Dorian, because he knows that Dorian is going to
- 0:27Speaker 2: undo all of his dirty work and be a really
- 0:30Speaker 2: good king. Welcome to Relatables Baddie's book Club, where we
- 0:34Speaker 2: will embark on a journey reading some of the finest
- 0:37Speaker 2: pieces of literature you have ever laid eyes or is.
- 0:40Speaker 1: If that's your preferred way to consume a book. On
- 0:44Speaker 1: Crown at Midnight, Chapters twenty through two forty, he looks
- 0:53Speaker 1: to be done. You looked at me like you forgot
- 0:55Speaker 1: we do we building? I was building the fucking suspense
- 0:58Speaker 1: and you ruined it, mate. That's what I was.
- 1:00Speaker 2: We told them like two episodes ago that we literally
- 1:02Speaker 2: just have to do twenty episodes each time, so they.
- 1:04Speaker 1: Know what, twenty episodes each time? You reckon twenty chapters.
- 1:07Speaker 3: Each Ah, shit, bro, I I have I'm keen for
- 1:18Speaker 3: thoughts and feelings because I have thoughts and feelings, thoughts.
- 1:21Speaker 1: Of feelings, predictions too, Yeah, me too. Way, oh, it's
- 1:25Speaker 1: turned up. I actually saw an interesting comment which made
- 1:29Speaker 1: a lot of sense to me. Do you know how, Oh,
- 1:31Speaker 1: we've chosen to read Assassin's Blade third? Yep, apparently, which
- 1:38Speaker 1: made a lot of sense. Do you know why I'm
- 1:40Speaker 1: really angry that Selana is not a cold, hard killer? Yeah, apparently,
- 1:45Speaker 1: it makes so much sense she is the way she
- 1:47Speaker 1: is if we read that first, But when we get
- 1:51Speaker 1: to it third, we'll be like, oh, oh see, but
- 1:54Speaker 1: I want that. But I like that. Yeah, yeah, and
- 1:56Speaker 1: it makes sense, I think. But all of all of
- 1:59Speaker 1: the way that I'm feeling, especially is because of the
- 2:01Speaker 1: way we've chosen to read, of course, yeah yeah, yeah,
- 2:04Speaker 1: But also I have a feeling like, you know, Sarah J.
- 2:08Speaker 2: Mass would have written Assassin's Blade first if she wanted
- 2:13Speaker 2: everyone to know everything about Selena before the first book,
- 2:17Speaker 2: Throne of Glass, but she didn't.
- 2:20Speaker 1: She wrote it after we are reading it. In the
- 2:23Speaker 1: right order.
- 2:23Speaker 2: Then, so I think we're reading it, Well, we're reading
- 2:26Speaker 2: it in the order that the vast majority recommends reading it.
- 2:28Speaker 1: But no, what was order it came out in.
- 2:32Speaker 2: I think it came out It either came out after
- 2:35Speaker 2: Throne of Glass or after Crown of Midnight.
- 2:38Speaker 1: Well, yeah, that's that's the big question right there.
- 2:40Speaker 2: I know someone that read the entire series without reading
- 2:44Speaker 2: Assassin's Blade and.
- 2:45Speaker 1: Loved it still, And so it says no, it says
- 2:47Speaker 1: Assassin's plays the first book. Jay, Oh, no, it's done. No,
- 2:49Speaker 1: it is the first book. Chronologically, Yes, I did. That
- 2:53Speaker 1: wakes me. That still wigs me out. So Crown of
- 2:55Speaker 1: Midnight no, sorry, let's start it. Thrown of Glass came
- 2:57Speaker 1: out in twenty twelve, Crown of Midnight twenty thirteen, then
- 3:00Speaker 1: Assassin's Blade twenty fourteen. But the first book's Assassin's Blade.
- 3:03Speaker 1: Ye ye yah yah. Yeah, so because that's chronologically. So
- 3:06Speaker 1: so she wrote this and then came back and was like,
- 3:08Speaker 1: wait a minute, I can add some more detail to
- 3:10Speaker 1: like Selena's fucking personality here exactly. I have a feeling
- 3:13Speaker 1: she would have done it on purpose.
- 3:15Speaker 4: Yeah, and see, like I'm I'm I think I don't
- 3:20Speaker 4: know if I could say I'm a purist in this
- 3:21Speaker 4: way or not, but like I like to read prequels
- 3:26Speaker 4: after the actual series, like I am.
- 3:30Speaker 2: With Red Rising, there is a so there's the whole series,
- 3:34Speaker 2: but then there's a prequel of a like humongous character
- 3:39Speaker 2: who you you don't know how he got to where
- 3:41Speaker 2: he is. In Red Rising, you never find out how
- 3:44Speaker 2: he got to where he is, but when you read
- 3:46Speaker 2: the prequel, you do and it's almost like and the
- 3:48Speaker 2: prequels like a comic book style.
- 3:52Speaker 1: Book.
- 3:52Speaker 2: It's actually fucking sick, but like it's it's, in my opinion,
- 3:55Speaker 2: so much cooler to read it.
- 3:57Speaker 1: After one question, what does a purist mean?
- 4:02Speaker 3: Ah?
- 4:03Speaker 1: Learn this Uh? Learn this word from my new friend
- 4:06Speaker 1: Luke Bateman, Oh purest So where he used it and
- 4:13Speaker 1: I was trying to use it just to slip it
- 4:14Speaker 1: in a conversation somewhere is.
- 4:16Speaker 2: I was trying to tell him to get a kindle
- 4:19Speaker 2: and he goes, oh, I can't get around a kindle.
- 4:21Speaker 2: He's like, I'm too much of a purist. I just
- 4:22Speaker 2: like read the books like, nah, the real book and
- 4:26Speaker 2: I'm like, oh yeah. So he just says like he's
- 4:28Speaker 2: a purist in that way, like he's like, yeah, fuck technology.
- 4:31Speaker 1: Okay, yeah, so like you read the original or the
- 4:33Speaker 1: first one.
- 4:34Speaker 2: I guess I'm a purist in the way that I
- 4:36Speaker 2: want to read it, in the way that the author
- 4:37Speaker 2: released it.
- 4:38Speaker 1: Ah, I like that? Or am I a purist? Then? Ah,
- 4:44Speaker 1: I'm you're a purist. I don't know what do I like? Originally? Well? No, no,
- 4:49Speaker 1: here's the thing is like, I know this isn't the
- 4:51Speaker 1: episode to do it, but Krispy Kreme original Blaze. That's
- 4:54Speaker 1: where I'm a purist. But I love that. I love
- 5:00Speaker 1: that you slip that in, mate, honestly, so fair.
- 5:06Speaker 2: No, you could be like, let me think about this, right,
- 5:12Speaker 2: what is I reckon? I can figure out what you're
- 5:14Speaker 2: a purist in? Okay, Well, I know, but.
- 5:19Speaker 1: There's ones before it. I like older cars. Wait let
- 5:23Speaker 1: me oh, oh nah, that doesn't really work.
- 5:26Speaker 2: Okay, here's how you could be a purist, right, yeah,
- 5:29Speaker 2: like a purist Jake. When when you do a rewatch
- 5:34Speaker 2: of The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings, do you
- 5:36Speaker 2: watch Lord of the Rings first because it came out first,
- 5:38Speaker 2: even though the Hobbit is set before it, or do
- 5:41Speaker 2: you watch the Hobbit first, then the Lord of the Rings.
- 5:44Speaker 1: Lord of the Rings. There you go. You're a purist
- 5:46Speaker 1: in that way. You represent bad he is comment below
- 5:52Speaker 1: what you're a purist in even though I am like
- 5:56Speaker 1: ninety five percent sure when the books were released J R. L.
- 6:01Speaker 2: Tolkien and or whatever he did release the Hobbit first,
- 6:04Speaker 2: then Lord of the Rings, then the Silmularian. SIMILARI it's
- 6:07Speaker 2: like some sassas, fucking like weird group of books that
- 6:10Speaker 2: like novels, it's so hard to read.
- 6:11Speaker 1: Talking about series. You know, the little like skull thing
- 6:14Speaker 1: that's on the door handle, the Bubba what's his name?
- 6:16Speaker 1: In shit, I forget Bubba Bubba? Are you talking about
- 6:21Speaker 1: the witch Bubby yellow yet legs? Yeah, Bubba yellow legs.
- 6:24Speaker 1: But the door what's the door's name? This isn't his?
- 6:27Speaker 1: Oh maybe I'm getting confused. Whatever the bubble one is? Reckon,
- 6:29Speaker 1: she got? I was gonna say Star Wars. It's not
- 6:32Speaker 1: the right word. Got. What's the word not? Motivation inspiration
- 6:40Speaker 1: from Bobba Fett from Star Wars. No, you don't reckon,
- 6:44Speaker 1: I reckon she did a no, because it's not Boba,
- 6:47Speaker 1: it's Bubba. Yeah, but Bubba in the audio book. It's
- 6:49Speaker 1: Bobba fet like Bubba yellow Legs. That's what I said, Bobby.
- 6:52Speaker 1: Ye they said, Okay, but like in Star Wars, I know,
- 6:55Speaker 1: people say Bubba Fett, but it's actually Boba fet. Ah,
- 6:59Speaker 1: it's actually a different star definitely came out earlier in that. Oh,
- 7:02Speaker 1: Sarah Sarah J Star Wars tight. Star Wars came out
- 7:06Speaker 1: when s J. Mass was like fucking two. Yeah. Yeah,
- 7:09Speaker 1: that's that's all I can think of, Bobby. The series
- 7:13Speaker 1: on Disney, it wasn't a purist, is actually really good
- 7:18Speaker 1: after Mandaloriant series. Have you seen it? Nah? Never, I
- 7:22Speaker 1: didn't like Boba fet in the Mandalorian. Oh no, that's good.
- 7:25Speaker 1: I thought that's the only other one that I thought
- 7:28Speaker 1: was like good. It wasn't as good as a Mandalorian,
- 7:30Speaker 1: but it's still good.
- 7:31Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 7:32Speaker 2: No, Star Wars needs a chill, bro, Yeah, they do.
- 7:34Speaker 2: Star Wars needs a fucking chill. Right, let's get into
- 7:37Speaker 2: the recap. Were recapping every chapter, thoughts and theories to
- 7:44Speaker 2: every pond.
- 7:45Speaker 1: Twist will break it down for you. Okay.
- 7:50Speaker 2: Chapter twenty, Selena takes the day off and leaves the
- 7:53Speaker 2: castle on the tenth anniversary of her parents' death.
- 7:57Speaker 1: This is the chapter that I read last week and
- 7:59Speaker 1: you didn't. Yeah, yeah, and don't worry. I read forty
- 8:02Speaker 1: this time and it was quite a bit chapter. Yeah, huge, Jay,
- 8:05Speaker 1: Yeah huge. I just want to say I was right
- 8:09Speaker 1: all the haters out there, I was fucking right. Yeah.
- 8:13Speaker 2: Chapter twenty one, we get a flashback to the day
- 8:15Speaker 2: she tried to escape the mines and it was the
- 8:18Speaker 2: ninth anniversary of her parents' death.
- 8:19Speaker 1: Then Kle stays with her that night. He stays with her, Yeah,
- 8:24Speaker 1: the night, but yeah, using anyway, I forgot. They were like,

- 8:36Speaker 2: that he can't control. Selenna takes Kle out for his birthday,

- 8:42Speaker 2: enclosed glass greenhouse on the roof of a building. Tells
- 8:45Speaker 2: Kle that she hasn't been killing the targets, so she
- 8:48Speaker 2: started to trust this boy looking right. Chapter twenty three,
- 8:52Speaker 2: she tells Kle that she wants to leave, go far
- 8:55Speaker 2: away from Riftthold when she gets her freedom. Kle says
- 8:57Speaker 2: that when she does, he will go with her. They
- 8:59Speaker 2: kiss and returned to the castle, where Selena loses her
- 9:02Speaker 2: virginity with Kale.
- 9:04Speaker 1: We didn't know it was a virginity.
- 9:05Speaker 2: I thought she had fucked Sam, so did I. That's
- 9:08Speaker 2: like what I swear in the Throne of Class. It
- 9:11Speaker 2: was implied that she had sex with Sam. Or was
- 9:12Speaker 2: she implying that she had kissed Sam before?
- 9:15Speaker 1: I think she was interpretation? She is only like nineteen
- 9:19Speaker 1: right now. Yeah, but bloody Kale took that vco why Okale?
- 9:26Speaker 1: All right? Chapter twenty or what I just had a realization.
- 9:31Speaker 1: What you know, how like men are all about having
- 9:36Speaker 1: sex and then they're perfect and then when they do
- 9:38Speaker 1: have sex they become a shit man or they show
- 9:40Speaker 1: their true colors. Yeah, they got what they want? Do reckon?
- 9:44Speaker 1: That's what that is. That's a depiction of without giving.
- 9:47Speaker 1: I don't know, like deepen it hard.
- 9:51Speaker 2: Maybe maybe it could be maybe Chapter twenty four, Dorian
- 9:56Speaker 2: goes to Barba Yellow Legs to try and get answers
- 9:59Speaker 2: about them. Nahemia tries to get Selena to promise to
- 10:02Speaker 2: help her free alway. When she doesn't, they fight, and
- 10:04Speaker 2: Nahemia calls Selena a coward.
- 10:06Speaker 1: And storms out.
- 10:07Speaker 2: Chapter twenty five, we see Nahemia in the tomb talking
- 10:10Speaker 2: to Queen Elena or Elena. She tells Nahemia that either
- 10:15Speaker 2: Dorian or Selena needs to break and that Dorian is not.
- 10:18Speaker 2: Red De asks Nahemia if she knows what she has
- 10:20Speaker 2: to do. Nahemia says she does. Chapter twenty six. On
- 10:25Speaker 2: a hunting party, the King tells Dorian that they have
- 10:27Speaker 2: to he is going to have Nahemia questioned, and Kle

- 11:01Speaker 2: of the group and that he set her up. Like
- 11:03Speaker 2: you said. Archer says that he has been working with
- 11:06Speaker 2: Nehemia for six months, leading the rebel movement together. He
- 11:09Speaker 2: tells her the King doesn't want to question Nahemia. They

- 11:17Speaker 2: Chapter twenty nine, she runs all the way back to
- 11:19Speaker 2: the castle and discovers Nahemia already killed.
- 11:22Speaker 1: Not just fuck wait, not just killed. Literally chopped to pie. Says,
- 11:31Speaker 1: I was actually not gonna lie. I was. I was.
- 11:35Speaker 1: I was on a plane when I read this right,
- 11:40Speaker 1: and I had nice must be nice, and I was livid. However,
- 11:48Speaker 1: wait till my prediction.
- 11:50Speaker 2: I have a prediction to same, okay. Chapter thirty Selena

- 12:20Speaker 2: hope she is. Word begins to spread that Nehemia has
- 12:23Speaker 2: been assassinated by Adelaine, and the girl kills her.
- 12:26Speaker 1: Overseer. Chapter thirty four, Dorian, curious about his powers, Selena
- 12:32Speaker 1: suspects that Grave killed Nahemia, who was one of the
- 12:37Speaker 1: King's close advisor's champions in Throne of Glass of first book,
- 12:42Speaker 1: Chapter thirty five, leaves the castle to hunt down Grave.
- 12:45Speaker 1: It was him. Selena begins torturing him for rancis and
- 12:49Speaker 1: is very brutal. Chapter thirty six, Selena brings Grave's head
- 12:53Speaker 1: to the King and the ministers. Reveals that Minister Mullison
- 12:56Speaker 1: hired Grave to kill Nehemia. Archer and the others wanted
- 12:59Speaker 1: Selena to see that Kayle was the enemy, that he

- 13:25Speaker 1: Sorry. Selena burns clothes that remind her of Nehemia. Also
- 13:31Speaker 1: burns the dress she wore on Kyle's birthday, works out
- 13:34Speaker 1: the riddle she found in the book at Davis's study
- 13:38Speaker 1: and leads her to a lengthy poem that speaks about
- 13:41Speaker 1: three powerful objects. Selena sings a song at Nahemia's grave
- 13:46Speaker 1: and Kle overhears. Then Kle looks in the library to
- 13:51Speaker 1: try and find the song that Selena was singing, finds
- 13:54Speaker 1: that it was in a language of the Fae, and
- 13:56Speaker 1: that she must be of some nobility, because we find
- 13:59Speaker 1: out that the only terysin born people or whatever, and
- 14:09Speaker 1: only those of noble blood would know any of the
- 14:12Speaker 1: Fay language, because the very first king of Arysson was
- 14:15Speaker 1: a full blooded Fay. Chapter thirty nine, Selena dines with
- 14:19Speaker 1: Dorian pisses me off the Dorians just.
- 14:22Speaker 2: Like, now's my chance AnyWho oh. Chapter forty, Selena goes
- 14:26Speaker 2: to see Bubba yellow Legs for help with the poem.
- 14:28Speaker 2: It talks of word keys, which I used to open
- 14:30Speaker 2: word gates. Years before Vogue in brackets, demons came from
- 14:35Speaker 2: another realm and tried to destroy Aurelia. The Volgue took
- 14:38Speaker 2: pieces of the word gate and split it into three
- 14:41Speaker 2: and made three rings to give three kings could be
- 14:44Speaker 2: used to open gates and use its power. The Fay
- 14:47Speaker 2: set out to steal the keys. Then Queen May of
- 14:49Speaker 2: the Fay had the valg banished poem gives clues to
- 14:52Speaker 2: where the keys are hidden or were hidden. The king
- 14:55Speaker 2: already has at least one key, which is why he
- 14:58Speaker 2: became so powerful. Ten years before, Selena wants to kill
- 15:01Speaker 2: Bubby Yellow Legs. She reveals she knows secrets about Dorian,
- 15:04Speaker 2: and so she wants to kill her to protect those secrets.
- 15:08Speaker 2: End with Bubby Yellow Legs knocking Selena out.
- 15:13Speaker 1: Wow.
- 15:15Speaker 2: Okay, let me just go through the range of emotions
- 15:19Speaker 2: I was feeling while I was reading those twenty chapters,
- 15:21Speaker 2: like we somehow do it all in like one go oh,
- 15:25Speaker 2: like just facial expressions or something like that.
- 15:27Speaker 1: I'm gonna do it in facial expressions and noises. Yeah, yeah, okay, okay, wait, wait,
- 15:33Speaker 1: wait once it okay, oh oh oh oh oh oh fuck.
- 15:44Speaker 1: That's my whole range of emotions. I don't know in
- 15:51Speaker 1: the middle.
- 15:52Speaker 2: Yeah, because think about it, Broski, all they did was
- 15:54Speaker 2: fuck for a week. They just stad sex every night,
- 15:58Speaker 2: and Kate's like yeah, yeah, yea, yeah, yeah, let's just
- 16:00Speaker 2: like we spend his time together.
- 16:01Speaker 1: Anyway, no one's gonna know. Everyone knows when she took
- 16:05Speaker 1: him in that little closet for a quickie. Now it
- 16:10Speaker 1: was sexy. Yeah, that was turning me on. I was like,
- 16:12Speaker 1: Kale Selena, okay, okay, okay, okay, okay. So I enjoyed
- 16:21Speaker 1: these chapters. What about you? I thoroughly enjoyed them too.
- 16:24Speaker 1: Should we get ow? I don't know rebuttals or anything
- 16:30Speaker 1: that I can get us out of the way to
- 16:31Speaker 1: start there? You go? You go? I you know how
- 16:35Speaker 1: like Kale knew that there was a threat to Nehemia,
- 16:40Speaker 1: I kind of thought that was a passing comment too,
- 16:42Speaker 1: like he didn't really know shit, Yeah, he hasn't really
- 16:45Speaker 1: been told anything. And then and then he got like
- 16:49Speaker 1: tortured in a sense of he knew everything. I was like,
- 16:51Speaker 1: fuck that boy, Kale kind I didn't really know shit.
- 16:54Speaker 1: So here's my thinking, right is, after after a few
- 16:56Speaker 1: days of calming down and thinking about.
- 16:59Speaker 5: It, like.
- 17:02Speaker 1: To be fair, he was told that there is suspicion
- 17:08Speaker 1: that there that there has been a threat made to
- 17:10Speaker 1: Nahemia's life, and like, you know, that's not his secret
- 17:17Speaker 1: to keep like he's acting all like what's the word?
- 17:24Speaker 2: You know, kind of just like you know, I don't
- 17:26Speaker 2: need to tell anyone this because like it's not my business,
- 17:28Speaker 2: like the Kings asked me, like this is the king's business.
- 17:31Speaker 2: You know, the kings asked me to put an extra
- 17:33Speaker 2: watch on Nahemia, which I did, Like, I don't need
- 17:34Speaker 2: to tell with Nahemia that there's been a threat maid
- 17:36Speaker 2: on her life, and I don't need to tell Selena.
- 17:38Speaker 2: And it's like, yes, you work for the king, but
- 17:42Speaker 2: like you have literally said that you don't know if
- 17:48Speaker 2: you can trust him, and you don't know if working
- 17:50Speaker 2: as the captain of the guard is what it was
- 17:52Speaker 2: like once meant to you and you're like in love
- 17:56Speaker 2: with Selena?
- 17:58Speaker 1: Do you reckon he should have told Selena because he's
- 18:00Speaker 1: in love with her. Is that what you're saying? Hundred?
- 18:03Speaker 1: Like I am now I think it's valid that she's mad. Oh,
- 18:07Speaker 1: I still think it's valid that she's mad. But I
- 18:09Speaker 1: also think, like, here's where my head went. It's like,
- 18:14Speaker 1: I don't know, you told me that one of our
- 18:16Speaker 1: friends was cheating, and then I got in trouble and
- 18:20Speaker 1: we did, in fact find out that they were cheating,
- 18:22Speaker 1: but I didn't tell anyone because I thought it was
- 18:24Speaker 1: my place not to tell. And I'm like, well, what
- 18:28Speaker 1: the fuck? I was just caught the middle of this bullshit?
- 18:30Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, okay, I think that's that's what I was thinking.
- 18:33Speaker 2: I was like, oh no, it's actually not like that,
- 18:35Speaker 2: though I feel like I don't really like that. Like
- 18:40Speaker 2: it's like if you were told by someone that a
- 18:44Speaker 2: threat has been made on Cassie's best friend's life, and
- 18:48Speaker 2: then you and then you don't tell Cassie or her
- 18:51Speaker 2: best friend, and then her best friend gets fucking murdered. Yeah,
- 18:55Speaker 2: but I was thinking it right, it would be a
- 19:00Speaker 2: real life example. That's literally what happened.
- 19:05Speaker 1: I do see your poet, but I also say I do.
- 19:08Speaker 1: I am sixty percent towards how you feel, but forty
- 19:12Speaker 1: percent towards like Kale was I caught a court.
- 19:14Speaker 6: In no man's land sort of yea yeah, yea, yea, yeah, yeah,
- 19:18Speaker 6: I see, I see, I see what else the I
- 19:22Speaker 6: I I just I was really really starting.
- 19:24Speaker 2: To like Kale, and just like purely for the fact
- 19:29Speaker 2: that he's like, you know, like I'll leave with you
- 19:33Speaker 2: and then they have sex, and you know, she just
- 19:37Speaker 2: like is talking about how it just feels like he's
- 19:40Speaker 2: always been the one that she like and needed to
- 19:44Speaker 2: end up with. Even before she said like, she said
- 19:49Speaker 2: this like sick comment in her own mind about how
- 19:52Speaker 2: Kale was the one before she even knew who he was.
- 19:57Speaker 1: Does Dorian know that they've been fucking He doesn't it,
- 20:00Speaker 1: I don't know surely, but like I don't know, man,
- 20:04Speaker 1: Like Dorian's like everyone's like, I don't know if just
- 20:08Speaker 1: everyone's into me about how Dorian's character is going to develop,
- 20:11Speaker 1: like hectic, hectic, hectic, right, But I.
- 20:15Speaker 2: Just want everyone to like at least tell me whether
- 20:17Speaker 2: or not, like did you did everyone feel the same
- 20:19Speaker 2: about how I feel about Dorian when you guys read
- 20:22Speaker 2: this point in the book as well, because like, to me,
- 20:25Speaker 2: Dorian is literally right, he's a prince that's never had
- 20:29Speaker 2: someone say no to him. I know Slain didn't really
- 20:32Speaker 2: give Hi much of a chance, but like she said, no, right,
- 20:36Speaker 2: she doesn't want him. She wants Kale, not anymore, but
- 20:39Speaker 2: wanted Kale, right. And then he's all like jealous and shit,
- 20:44Speaker 2: acting like she's fucking his even though he ends up
- 20:48Speaker 2: making comments saying like she was never mine, Like, but
- 20:52Speaker 2: he literally says to Kale like you can have her,
- 20:56Speaker 2: as if like giving him permission, and it's like, what
- 20:58Speaker 2: do you what permission was needed to be given?
- 21:01Speaker 1: Well, in his head, he thought that was noble, like
- 21:05Speaker 1: I'm with you, but I also think Assassin's players going
- 21:07Speaker 1: to explain all of that all your question though, so
- 21:09Speaker 1: I think will be answered and then right.
- 21:14Speaker 2: So he literally also like Sarah J. Mass has written
- 21:19Speaker 2: in monologue or not in a monologue or whatever of
- 21:22Speaker 2: Dorian that like he is feeling guilty, that he has
- 21:27Speaker 2: feeling that he's feeling a sense of relief that she
- 21:29Speaker 2: now hates Kale, Like, dude, that's your best friend.
- 21:35Speaker 1: You know. They don't seem like best friends in a day.
- 21:37Speaker 2: They don't seem like best friends at all. They seem
- 21:41Speaker 2: exactly like men are in the real world.
- 21:44Speaker 5: The way Luke described how like we are all raised
- 21:46Speaker 5: at patriarchal society where it's like when we are friends,
- 21:49Speaker 5: the reason it's always so surface level and like that
- 21:52Speaker 5: we feel alone or whatever is because we're.
- 21:54Speaker 1: Competing with each other, no exactly to it, and like.
- 21:57Speaker 2: That's also and like that's kind of how it is.
- 21:59Speaker 2: Like sees Dorian as like he's fucking prince. He says
- 22:02Speaker 2: him as a friend, but it's also that he is
- 22:04Speaker 2: his prince and he knows that It's like I could
- 22:06Speaker 2: never compete with him in that sense, Like Dorian how
- 22:11Speaker 2: about you talk to Selena and be like, you know,
- 22:15Speaker 2: how the fuck was Kayle supposed to know instead of
- 22:18Speaker 2: just like swooping in and being like, let's have dinner together,
- 22:20Speaker 2: let's do like fuck off, Like I don't know. It's
- 22:22Speaker 2: also valido that slender doesn't like Kayla right now, like, oh,
- 22:25Speaker 2: I don't.
- 22:25Speaker 1: Know this doesn't like anyone, to be fair, and now
- 22:30Speaker 1: what are we happy about? Umm? I really like interrupt
- 22:39Speaker 1: fucking Archer kidnapping Kale and then being like, oh I
- 22:43Speaker 1: didn't think you would get angry Selena? What do you mean?
- 22:47Speaker 1: I thought this was just a good way to get
- 22:49Speaker 1: you out here, not fucking coming here to try to
- 22:51Speaker 1: kill all my men, Like what do you mean? Archer
- 22:54Speaker 1: is a dumb ass? Yeah?
- 22:56Speaker 2: I was like, what's going on? Genuinely a dumbers she
- 22:59Speaker 2: kills like fifty people?
- 23:00Speaker 1: Yeah, And they're like that's what I liked, Like she
- 23:03Speaker 1: was a fucking and also the whole reason Tale was there,
- 23:06Speaker 1: it didn't make any sense.
- 23:07Speaker 2: Yeah, well they knew that, they knew that he meant
- 23:10Speaker 2: something to her, and she like goes abe shit, right,
- 23:14Speaker 2: what I do? Like so like I am acting angry
- 23:16Speaker 2: and stuff like that, but like Obviously it's a good
- 23:18Speaker 2: book because it's bringing emotion out of me.
- 23:19Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 23:21Speaker 2: One thing I'm loving is that we're getting like a
- 23:24Speaker 2: villain revenge arc from Selena, Like she's she didn't want
- 23:28Speaker 2: to help you away, she didn't want to be like
- 23:31Speaker 2: a part of that. She just wanted to run away
- 23:33Speaker 2: and live her chill life. Because like the defeating the
- 23:35Speaker 2: king is just something that is way too big of
- 23:37Speaker 2: a task. But like, obviously now she's going to go
- 23:39Speaker 2: do that shit.
- 23:40Speaker 1: And also, can we do predictions because I have gnally predictions. Oh,
- 23:45Speaker 1: we can go straight there if you want to. Do
- 23:47Speaker 1: you have anything else to say quickly? Yeah? Yeah? Yeah. Firstly,
- 23:52Speaker 1: Dorian had to use his little freeze magic to catchure Selena,
- 23:55Speaker 1: and she knew no one else did. Oh yeah, so
- 23:58Speaker 1: she knows he has magic. That was something cool that
- 24:00Speaker 1: was breadcrumbed. And then other thing was the magic system
- 24:05Speaker 1: about the two worlds, open a key, three rings, blah
- 24:07Speaker 1: blah blah blah. Giving a lot of the rings annoyed
- 24:09Speaker 1: me a little bit. Three rings and a king. Really, yes,
- 24:13Speaker 1: it is to open a portal to another land. What
- 24:17Speaker 1: do you mean that's giving a lord of the rings
- 24:18Speaker 1: to a tea, No portals and Lord of the Rings
- 24:21Speaker 1: is it. Yeah, that's how all the orcs come through
- 24:23Speaker 1: and shit, and that that guy dude, Orcs are elves. Yeah, no,
- 24:29Speaker 1: what's the the whole Sarn. Sarn's just like a fucking
- 24:35Speaker 1: mythical being.
- 24:36Speaker 3: Bro.
- 24:36Speaker 1: Yeah, that's literally what it is. Sarn's one side of
- 24:39Speaker 1: the world, and then Selena is the other side of
- 24:41Speaker 1: the world. Okay, giving all of the rings, but the
- 24:44Speaker 1: other two points I wanted to touch on, but also
- 24:46Speaker 1: I was right and I said that would be a portal.
- 24:48Speaker 1: And then she has the power to go through each
- 24:50Speaker 1: side and bring people out and they'll go to our predictions.
- 24:52Speaker 1: Cue the song lots of fearless predictions to one of
- 24:58Speaker 1: the fictional men like we alway and screaming again. This
- 25:05Speaker 1: is the Relentless Book Club. Let the throw in the
- 25:09Speaker 1: darks begin. Okay, right there you go first, because I reckon,
- 25:11Speaker 1: I reckon, I've got a banger. Okay, okay. Number one.
- 25:15Speaker 1: Number one prediction is Nahemia. She like knew she was
- 25:24Speaker 1: going to die.
- 25:25Speaker 2: She sacrificed her life because because they that's how bad
- 25:29Speaker 2: they needed Selena.
- 25:31Speaker 3: Oh.
- 25:32Speaker 2: Number two, all right, Number two is Selena is the
- 25:41Speaker 2: long lost heir to the throne of terrasin Ah. Like
- 25:44Speaker 2: that number three, Selena is has I'm pretty sure you
- 25:51Speaker 2: predicted this last episode her. She is magic, right, and
- 25:55Speaker 2: her magical power is just like everything is heightened. Everything
- 25:59Speaker 2: about her is anst and heightened. Yes, because Kale's like
- 26:02Speaker 2: gets Kale gets rides a horse behind her when she
- 26:05Speaker 2: runs back to the thing to find Nahemia dead, and
- 26:08Speaker 2: Kal says to dor and like, dude, I got on
- 26:09Speaker 2: a horse and she beat me by a mile, Like
- 26:14Speaker 2: who can do that?
- 26:16Speaker 1: Number?
- 26:19Speaker 2: Oh?
- 26:20Speaker 1: Wait? Number four? Yeah? Wait what did I say? So far?
- 26:24Speaker 2: So I think that Selena is the royal blood. I
- 26:26Speaker 2: think that she's got I agree with your prediction about
- 26:29Speaker 2: the magic, how everything's heightened. Nahemia knew she was going
- 26:31Speaker 2: to die.
- 26:32Speaker 1: She planned that.
- 26:32Speaker 2: Oh the king, the king is so Back in the day,
- 26:38Speaker 2: the elves banished the valve, which are the demons, right,
- 26:43Speaker 2: because the valg came through the rift and and then
- 26:45Speaker 2: broke the rift because they wanted to come in and
- 26:46Speaker 2: take over the world. They weren't all banished, all right,
- 26:51Speaker 2: They weren't all banished. And the way they're now taking
- 26:53Speaker 2: over the world is by possessing the king, and the
- 26:57Speaker 2: king like and like possess sing whoever has the rings
- 27:01Speaker 2: maybe or some shit like that. I think the King's possessed.
- 27:04Speaker 1: Okay, okay, so you actually think the king. I think
- 27:07Speaker 1: the Voga is still here. Yeah, I agree with that prediction.
- 27:10Speaker 1: I have one prediction that kind of goes with your
- 27:13Speaker 1: first one about Nahemia knew she was going to die,
- 27:16Speaker 1: and she sacrificed herself to get Selana on board. Going
- 27:21Speaker 1: one step further, if we start with that, she sacrificed
- 27:25Speaker 1: herself because she knows Solana is going to find the
- 27:29Speaker 1: portal where Nahemia will be and she'll bring her back
- 27:33Speaker 1: through and she'll be alive, So she knows that she's
- 27:37Speaker 1: not actually so she's physically dead, but like her soul
- 27:42Speaker 1: is alive. Yeah, and she'll she'll be able to like
- 27:45Speaker 1: talk to so oh jock. She'll be bringing her back
- 27:47Speaker 1: for real, for real, she will at least be able
- 27:49Speaker 1: to talk to her. And I that's what Hemia will
- 27:51Speaker 1: play a role in a sense of random stuff will
- 27:54Speaker 1: happen where like Selanna's about to die and then like
- 27:56Speaker 1: a gust of wind will come and be like, what
- 27:57Speaker 1: the hell that's NHMA or something. Yeah, that's tactic. Yeah yeah,
- 28:02Speaker 1: actually that was my one prediction. But well, the book
- 28:05Speaker 1: is turning up. Yeah, we're finishing it soon. Oh my
- 28:09Speaker 1: godfteen fIF fifteen, that's all. That's all. Fuck, I'll read
- 28:14Speaker 1: them tonight. Brow maybe sixteen, but fifteen to sixteen. What's on?
- 28:18Speaker 1: There's something weird on the back. Maybe they give a
- 28:21Speaker 1: teaser of the next book on the back apparently apparently
- 28:24Speaker 1: did baddies. What's this? So the book ends? Read on
- 28:32Speaker 1: for an excerpt from the next books Run into the Throne.
- 28:36Speaker 1: Oh no, it's just the next book, all right, OI,
- 28:39Speaker 1: don't read the last chapter. Oh yeah, I will be
- 28:42Speaker 1: reading it on the episode. Oh shit? Is that Patreon exclusive?
- 28:46Speaker 1: I don't care, it's up to you. Okay, batties, that's it?
- 28:51Speaker 1: Is that it? Yeah? Sh that's it Today, come back
- 28:56Speaker 1: for fifteen more chapters and we will be in the
- 29:00Speaker 1: book and once again, the whole Crown of Midnight is
- 29:03Speaker 1: available two bins on Patreon for eight ninety nine a month,
- 29:07Speaker 1: and we do that every time with every book within
- 29:09Speaker 1: the series. That's that's.
- 29:12Speaker 3: That's.
- 29:12Speaker 2: If you're listening on Spotify, if you're listening on Patreon,
- 29:15Speaker 2: you're getting them slowly before Spotify having gets the first one. Yeah,
- 29:19Speaker 2: so I just want to just that was also via
- 29:21Speaker 2: your votes, like Patreon baddies voted for that, and then
- 29:23Speaker 2: people commenting wigging out and then and the reason we're.
- 29:26Speaker 1: Reading so quickly. But I think a lot of bad
- 29:27Speaker 1: is like that is because we're timing all of this
- 29:30Speaker 1: for the release of book six and seven. Yeah, of Akatar,
- 29:35Speaker 1: which comes out in December and January. I'm pretty sure
- 29:38Speaker 1: October number six comes out in October. Holy shit, we
- 29:42Speaker 1: will do that one slowly, but I reckon, I reckon. Yeah,
- 29:45Speaker 1: we savor it. Yeah, chapter the time, two episodes a
- 29:49Speaker 1: week or some shit.
- 29:51Speaker 2: Either that, either that or because I'm gonna finish Throne
- 29:54Speaker 2: of Glasses so not Thrown of Glass Present City as well.
- 29:57Speaker 1: The baddies we wanted to know what's the gir of that?
- 30:00Speaker 1: So I've recorded one episode. Have you sent it to
- 30:02Speaker 1: an editor? No? Yeah, unless you want to. Well, I
- 30:06Speaker 1: was thinking, is that I literally, dude, I had notes.
- 30:09Speaker 1: This is what I did. I had notes and then
- 30:11Speaker 1: I was reading them and I was like, fuck these notes.
- 30:13Speaker 2: And I threw them and I rambled for like fifty
- 30:15Speaker 2: minutes fifty minutes. I just was talking and I was like,
- 30:20Speaker 2: I don't know if this makes sense at all, but
- 30:21Speaker 2: I'm just talking, and so like, no segments.
- 30:26Speaker 1: All I need to do is put an intro and
- 30:27Speaker 1: an outro and just upload today. Yeah give me, I'll
- 30:29Speaker 1: make a thumbnail for it. Make you look pretty yea
- 30:31Speaker 1: yea yeah yeah yeah. Tell me something to do with
- 30:32Speaker 1: the book yea yeah, yeah yeah yeah yeah, there you go, barties.
- 30:36Speaker 2: But I just okay, so this book is okay, this
- 30:39Speaker 2: series is turning up. I will give you that, or
- 30:41Speaker 2: I will give it that.
- 30:43Speaker 1: You can give me that. Thanks, But Present City Roski,
- 30:48Speaker 1: don't tell me that because I don't have time to
- 30:50Speaker 1: read it. Jack, No, I know. But here's what I
- 30:52Speaker 1: was going to say is we could read.
- 30:56Speaker 2: Akatar right, and then even though all my episodes of
- 31:01Speaker 2: Crescent City will be out, you could do a read
- 31:03Speaker 2: of Crescent City in between Akaita six and seven.
- 31:05Speaker 1: All in between, and then you're just by myself or
- 31:08Speaker 1: what it's the idea, I don't know what was think
- 31:09Speaker 1: of something? Okay, okay, and then you like live through
- 31:13Speaker 1: me again, You're do the whole like back Shepherd, Monica
- 31:17Speaker 1: Padman Vibe where like I am like interviewing the book,
- 31:21Speaker 1: so they say. And then you're the audience and be like, oh,
- 31:23Speaker 1: what do you actually think about this audio? Yeah? True, true, true,
- 31:26Speaker 1: because I forget you. Yeah. Oh you know you've got
- 31:28Speaker 1: a pretty good memory. Well that's it for today, batties,
- 31:31Speaker 1: We love you, Stay bad.
