- 0:00Here's to you. It's supported by One Life
- 0:02Spirits. One Life Spirits is built on
- 0:04purpose, culture, good people and good drinks so you can live
- 0:08one life to the fullest. That means shots that are
- 0:11smooth, tasteful, and pair perfectly with a lime.
- 0:14Or our favorite, in orange. Because if you're still chasing
- 0:17tequila with a lime, what are you doing?
- 0:20That orange slice brings out the bright citrus notes of Una Vida
- 0:24Blanco, which is smooth, authentic and tasteful.
- 0:27Like myself. Plus, Una Vida is 100% additive
- 0:31free, so you're enjoying tequila in its purest form without the
- 0:35hangover regret. Yeah, because it takes us three
- 0:38to five business days to recover now, and hang side is not my
- 0:41friend. That's why you should stick with
- 0:44una Vida or try cocktails instead of shots.
- 0:47OK, love a little. One Life Spirits also crafts El
- 0:50Drago High Post vodkas and LeBron whiskey all bold, smooth
- 0:54and made to share. Whether it's game night, date
- 0:56night or just Tuesday night, they've got the pores covered.
- 1:00Because it's not just about taste, but it's about that
- 1:02feeling. And we're a proud spirit snobs.
- 1:05So treat yourself. Visit onelifespirits.com, swing
- 1:09by the One Life Spirits bar inside of El Primo, or grab a
- 1:12bottle at your local liquor store.
- 1:14Cheers. It'll be fine.
- 1:18No, yeah, I think you are pretty stoic in general.
- 1:20Maybe. Yeah, like I I could see that.
- 1:23I feel like, yeah, I'm like always the person who's just
- 1:25like, subtly saying jokes and it's like very sarcastic.
- 1:29I'm a I'm a sarcastic as hell too.
- 1:32Like when I become sarcastic, I get very like, yeah, I know what
- 1:36you're saying, you know what I mean?
- 1:37Like, and that's when I get very stoic.
- 1:39And then like a lot of people don't like that because they
- 1:43think that I'm. You're not as bubbly.
- 1:45Well, they think I'm being for real.
- 1:48Oh, I guess so, because I'm not as bubbly.
- 1:49I feel like I like being around people that are very out there
- 1:53and super expressive and like, like, I don't know, I like being
- 1:57around those people 'cause like they bring me to the light.
- 2:00Like they force me to be like out of my shell a little bit,
- 2:02you know? So I like, I like that you have
- 2:04the balance. It seems like you know.
- 2:06I think I just have like a lot of dark jokes too.
- 2:09That's yeah. And.
- 2:10And so like, I like the best, Yeah.
- 2:12And I love when people just, it's kind of like we just, and I
- 2:18am like this too. Like I take life seriously, but
- 2:22I also don't, you know what I mean?
- 2:24Bitch, I feel that. You know what I mean?
- 2:26You know, life is hard and you gotta make the most of it.
- 2:29Yeah, and you gotta be able to have like, fun and I gotta be
- 2:32able to joke. And I don't always wanna be on.
- 2:35I don't always wanna be on. I mean not people are too real,
- 2:39but life is too real. Life is too real.
- 2:41Life is way too real to just like, like at the same time like
- 2:45where I'm very like, this is the moment that I care a lot or
- 2:48whatever. Like there are a lot of topics
- 2:51that I get serious on, you know, but then also like there's other
- 2:55topics like being able to be sarcastic that I'm not going to
- 2:58get serious on. Yeah, I mean, even serious
- 3:01things I think you can be humorous about, you know, and
- 3:05deliver it in a way that's funny.
- 3:07And I try to do that, you know, 'cause it's like, I don't know,
- 3:11I'm afraid of like posting just like politics all the time.
- 3:14So it's like, how did you got to come from it from like a fun
- 3:16angle? Or yeah.
- 3:18Because I know. Yes, Yeah.
- 3:20Have we hit record already? OK.
- 3:23I think I'm just going to like what we're going to do right now
- 3:25because this is just going and then we're going to continue
- 3:27this. Who is this weird person that
- 3:30we're hearing right now that is stoic and just, you know, also
- 3:36sarcastic and takes life serious, but doesn't take life
- 3:40serious. So that's why she's a content
- 3:42creator, but she's also a marketer and that's why she's a
- 3:45foodie. But she also likes to garden
- 3:47because we need to have both things in order to have good
- 3:51food. You know, that's how you
- 3:53experience good food. It's all.
- 3:54A balance. Yeah, it's all a balance and
- 3:56she's weird, but she's not weird, right?
- 3:58Do I use weird a lot? I hope that's not.
- 4:01No, not at all. It's not offensive.
- 4:03OK, Good, good, good. I always say that it's normal.
- 4:06Yeah. What's normal exactly?
- 4:09I don't know. Exactly.
- 4:10We have Ashley here today with ICT girls and Abedini social.
- 4:19I just can we angle it so she doesn't see it.
- 4:21I don't want her to look at it and think like, can you see
- 4:24that? I can see it, but I'm not gonna
- 4:26like it's not. You're not going to look at it,
- 4:29are you? Sure, You promise?
- 4:31I'll be like, we've only been talking for a minute.
- 4:34Oh, I'm just kidding. I'll be fine.
- 4:37OK. You sure?
- 4:38Yeah. OK, OK, good.
- 4:39Good. That's why I've.
- 4:41I've been thinking about the so we finally have a clock here or
- 4:44timer or whatever. It's legit.
- 4:46It's legit. It's getting legit, y'all, It's
- 4:49getting real. Like shit's getting real and I
- 4:51hate it. It's getting.
- 4:54Real. You guys got a little?
- 4:55Bit I mean. I'm legit.
- 4:59Yeah, we we had to get the clock because I get tired of trying to
- 5:03update her of the time, like secretly without you knowing.
- 5:09Yeah, and then that's true because like you can hear
- 5:12lately, you can hear me tapping in the thing, you know, like I I
- 5:17can. Hear fat fingers.
- 5:18It's my you know, I'm just kidding.
- 5:20You got very dainty fingers. They're very feminine.
- 5:24Sausage fingers. Fanister McAllister here.
- 5:27You know that shit. No, you're too skinny.
- 5:30I'm just kidding. I don't, I don't mind, right?
- 5:33I love a good shit talking. I love like this is the type of
- 5:36stuff that I love. If your friend can't say it, who
- 5:39can? You know.
- 5:42If you have bad eyebrows, your friends don't love you like they
- 5:47don't. They don't.
- 5:48Because you're so important. They are and like so if you have
- 5:51bad eyebrows, you're from some. Point.
- 5:53I mean you're kind of fucked like if somebody over tweezed.
- 5:56Yeah. Or like, let's say somebody just
- 5:58did one of these and like that's just their face.
- 6:01Like what do you do to that? Yeah.
- 6:03Well, I mean, but yes, really. No.
- 6:06Yeah. Well, I mean like all I'm saying
- 6:08is that like, if your friends can't tell you.
- 6:11I mean I I get the point. Yeah, 'cause like.
- 6:14You're free, Yeah. Your friends don't love you.
- 6:17I feel like my friends, too. It's like, if you're really my
- 6:20friend, it's like we're just blunt.
- 6:22Yeah. You know, like, I don't take
- 6:24subtleties. Very.
- 6:25Well, I don't either. You know.
- 6:27I can't read between the lines. I'm like is this a jar?
- 6:30Like what else is you know? I can't.
- 6:32I can't read between the lines and sometimes I can.
- 6:36But you know what? I choose not to on purpose
- 6:39because we're grown-ups. So say it with your chest
- 6:42please. Yeah, and I mean, I'm pretty
- 6:44blunt myself. I am too.
- 6:46I appreciate a good person who can be candid.
- 6:48Yeah. Like, of course, like, let's be
- 6:50nice to each other, like. Astrology sign.
- 6:52I'm a Libra. OK, I honestly don't know too
- 6:55much about Libras. Are they known for being honest?
- 6:58Like, brazenly honest. No, no, I don't think so.
- 7:01Yeah, we're known actually typically like balance.
- 7:06So like you're always looking for justice and then also like
- 7:09love. That makes sense for me.
- 7:11OK. And typically you're a people
- 7:14pleaser and typically you're very flirty or like that's just
- 7:18kind of what is the, do you think I'm flirty?
- 7:21I I could get that fine. I mean, I didn't think you were
- 7:23like flirting with me, but I mean.
- 7:25Should I? Maybe I'm flirty.
- 7:29I mean, it's not a bad thing. I already think, should I I need
- 7:33to make her feel good? You know, yeah, I'm
- 7:35unfortunately not a bisexual. It.
- 7:38Expands your. Option.
- 7:39Hold on, do I look bisexual? Is that why you you can?
- 7:43Say straight vibes, but you do have blue hair so you never
- 7:46know. Why do these lesbian allegations
- 7:48continue? I'm tired of them.
- 7:52I just do you. Do you get allegations?
- 7:55That yeah, I do. It's it's always the hair.
- 7:58It's the hair like people I. Feel like there's a look, like
- 8:01it's a, you know, a conservative look in Kansas.
- 8:04And if you don't fit that, look, people may, you know, give
- 8:09allegations that you're a lesbian or something.
- 8:11Yeah, well, like, OK, no, not lesbian.
- 8:14They're. Bisexual.
- 8:15Yeah, yeah. Who isn't?
- 8:17We're all on a spectrum. Exactly like what is normal You
- 8:22you get me. I mean, the Kinsey scale, like I
- 8:25do believe that we're all on the spectrum.
- 8:27Kinsey scale, Yeah. What's that?
- 8:29Look into it, it's so fascinating.
- 8:32What? What is it?
- 8:32Dusty, 'cause it sounded like you knew.
- 8:34I mean, I don't know, I was laughing about something.
- 8:37Oh, what's do you want to share? Yeah, what you like?
- 8:39What's happening? Yeah.
- 8:40Do you have an experience? You want to talk about 'cause
- 8:43you said you said that, you said that, you know, everybody's on
- 8:47like the a spectrum of sexuality.
- 8:50And it just reminded me of a story that I heard earlier today
- 8:55about some Nazis like this is. Interesting.
- 8:59World War. Two Nazis?
- 9:02Were they lovers? No.
- 9:04Well, so they had the concentration camps and along
- 9:10with a lot of the torture that they used to bestow upon the
- 9:13Jewish folks, they also made the guys like, you know, be naked
- 9:17and like they would like hit, hit them with sticks and stuff
- 9:21in their genitals. But then also they would make
- 9:23them jerk each. Other off Fuck dude.
- 9:26You know how you guys gave me an edible before?
- 9:28This yes my. Eye is God.
- 9:35I am sober. That's not where I thought you
- 9:39were going to. Go with me.
- 9:40Either I don't know where I thought I was, like, I don't
- 9:42know him very well. We'll see.
- 9:44Yes, he's still in left field. Yeah, so I mean, yeah, you know,
- 9:49even the Nazis were on the spectrum a little bit, man.
- 9:52You're not going to make your prisoners jerk each other off
- 9:55just because. That's a good point.
- 9:58Yeah. I mean, I'm sure there was like
- 9:59humiliation aspect of that. Yeah, a lot of those, like top
- 10:03three dudes next to Hitler, they're gay.
- 10:06That makes sense though, because they're really pissed off.
- 10:08It's always a powerful white man.
- 10:10It's. Always.
- 10:11Actually, I was just talking to a friend about this about how is
- 10:17this racist? Tell me guys about.
- 10:21I'm like, don't get me involved in this.
- 10:23This is pretty impressive that we're like 5 minutes in and we
- 10:26could probably scrap this whole. 1st I don't think we should.
- 10:30I don't think we should. Oh, I see what there's no hair
- 10:34at. What age have you adjusted your
- 10:36age range? Listen, I adjust my.
- 10:39I told. I asked my mom once, I was like,
- 10:42hey mom, like if you were me, like what should be the age
- 10:45range 'cause I was like, you know, she married my dad.
- 10:48He was 10 years older. OK, I, I've dated older too, you
- 10:51know, totally get that. But the idea of dating somebody
- 10:53that's over 40 is wild. But I'm 36.
- 10:56You've never dated somebody older than you.
- 10:59Like significantly older. OK.
- 11:01What's significant? Well I've dated people about my
- 11:04age, like 2-3 years older. OK.
- 11:08And I'm open to anything. I feel like, you know, it's too
- 11:12old when they look like they're kidnapping you.
- 11:14Oh. For sure, for sure.
- 11:16Like if it's a sugar daddy situation.
- 11:18Of course, yes. But aside from that, it's kind
- 11:21of like everyone's about the same, like everyone has the same
- 11:24challenges. Like we go through the same
- 11:25shit, you know what I mean? Like, I probably have more in
- 11:28common with like, an older person than like someone who's
- 11:31too young. So I don't know.
- 11:33I'm still trying to figure out my age range.
- 11:35OK? OK.
- 11:38Because it's like, how old is too old?
- 11:40Like, I don't want homie to be like, you know, I got a
- 11:44retirement plan that's like active next month, you know,
- 11:47like that's a lot. Yeah, I don't, I wouldn't do
- 11:49that either. I I think like. 30s Forties.
- 11:52The oldest I'm I just entered 30 the welcome.
- 11:55Thank you. Thirty 30s.
- 11:56I feel like I've been in my 30s for a while though, like I just.
- 12:01You know, like I've lived a long.
- 12:03Life. Yeah, I've lived a long ass
- 12:05life. That's actually that's that's
- 12:07exactly what it is that I just said.
- 12:09Like, OK, if life wants to chill, that'd be really fucking
- 12:14cool. Like you want to give your
- 12:16toughest battles to someone not here man.
- 12:19Jesus, I'm not a strong soldier. I am not a strong soldier.
- 12:22Get out of here. I'm tired of it, but I, I think
- 12:27like I've just I, you know, you grew up fast.
- 12:29I think also like first Gen. tends to grow up fast a lot.
- 12:33So you feel like you need to balance that with someone who's
- 12:35a little older maybe? Sometimes, I guess.
- 12:38Typically I have always dated older.
- 12:41I've never. I used to be like my cap was
- 12:43gonna be 10 years and then I met somebody who did not look old
- 12:48and then and then they told me they were age.
- 12:51How much? Older.
- 12:52Were they like 15 years? No, 10 years.
- 12:54Oh, that's not bad. That's why I'm I used to say
- 12:56that was my cast. No.
- 12:58No, actually I used to say, I used to say it was five years.
- 13:00And then I met someone who was 10 years older than me.
- 13:03And then I was, but like this person, homie, also did not look
- 13:07that much older. And they're like, at that age,
- 13:10there was a moment that I thought he was younger than me.
- 13:13I was like, what the fuck? And then I, one of my good
- 13:15friends goes, remember that one time that you were like, I think
- 13:18he's younger than me. And I was like, yeah.
- 13:20Well, maybe men don't have the stress that women do.
- 13:23Maybe. Well, it depends.
- 13:25If there's some melanin tune, that's when they don't.
- 13:28Look no 100%. That's what it is.
- 13:31And 'cause then so again, at first I thought it was 5 and
- 13:34then the 10 happened and then I thought that was my cap on mine.
- 13:37I'm never doing that again. Like, and then it wasn't a bad
- 13:41experience. I just was like, that's a lot,
- 13:42you know, I guess in relative terms, the count, it's on your
- 13:45fingers. And then I met somebody who was,
- 13:48I think like 12 years older than me.
- 13:50I also did not look. Yeah, I mean, I guess 12 isn't
- 13:54that bad. I feel like if if you were like
- 13:56in your early 20s or something, that'd be different.
- 13:57Or there was like a power imbalance.
- 13:59Yes, but I'm all about whatever, like whatever works out.
- 14:02And I think too, it's like, do you want kids 'cause that's a
- 14:04whole nother aspect of it, you know?
- 14:06And it's like. Well, both of them didn't.
- 14:08I didn't have to so like. Or maybe you'd want to be a
- 14:11stepmom and then like if they already have kids.
- 14:14Don't give more. Elevation to these.
- 14:16People they're. Just saying like, not everybody
- 14:20wants to have kids. I don't want kids.
- 14:22I think like for the longest, like OK, and I want to hear your
- 14:26thoughts on this too. And then the age stuff too.
- 14:30Well, you know, both. That's why I was just like, then
- 14:32that happened and then I 'cause they don't, you know, like, but
- 14:36everyone, everyone does not look like fucking.
- 14:39They just don't crack. No, what is it?
- 14:41Asians don't reason anyways. You're not wrong.
- 14:46And that's that and. My people don't age well.
- 14:48Yeah, same. I'm Mexican.
- 14:50That's what I think everyone's always like Mexicans ate, donate
- 14:54or they also hide their age. And I'm like, I don't know what.
- 15:00I know lots of Mexicans who I know their age.
- 15:04Yeah, maybe because you just know a lot.
- 15:06Of them, it just, it just hits us all at once.
- 15:08At a certain age, yeah. It does, that's what.
- 15:11They're that's funny. I've.
- 15:13Explained this concept because like for someone who maybe
- 15:15doesn't have a lot of I'm not saying you don't, but like
- 15:18explain this concept I love. Asians man, I love Asian.
- 15:21Population. I fuck with them.
- 15:23I don't know. There's like, I don't know if
- 15:27you want to call it like theories or hypotheses of like
- 15:32scientific. Experiment.
- 15:33The more like like having like more melanin and skin tone to
- 15:38you like it somehow keeps you younger.
- 15:45Yeah, but most people who are, yeah, they don't tend to show
- 15:50their age until just a certain day, then all of a sudden years
- 15:53old. It's it's especially true with
- 15:56Asian folks and. I feel like you think about that
- 15:58when you think of like Asian media.
- 16:00There's always like a really young, beautiful woman and then
- 16:03you see an old woman. There's like not a lot of
- 16:05transition. Yeah, no, yeah, there's not a
- 16:07lot of transition. It's just one day we look like
- 16:10we're 40 and then the next day we're 68.
- 16:13You. Know that that and like Don
- 16:16would always tell me that too. And I was like, well, I guess
- 16:19maybe I just haven't like my friends, like your guys's
- 16:23parents are look like their age. But then like my other friend's
- 16:28parents, like Emily's parents, Selena's parent.
- 16:32We're talking about the age difference, right?
- 16:34Like they do, they look so young, like, man, like mom, like
- 16:39Selena's mom. She looks exactly like Selena.
- 16:43Like I'm just like, damn, dude. Like her skin is so good.
- 16:46It's like, yeah. And I always want to be like,
- 16:49what's your secret? But it's probably just like
- 16:50there's no secret. Yeah, they just wash it.
- 16:53They just wash their face with Dove Dove soap and everything is
- 16:57fine and they don't eat and they barely even and like like
- 17:01Grandma de la Campana and then everything's fine.
- 17:03Everybody around me is getting Botox, you know, OK.
- 17:06And I'm just like, I don't want to be that person, but it's
- 17:09like, I don't know, everybody's getting Botox, you know what I
- 17:13mean? And it.
- 17:13Is a trending thing. We actually that was the spam
- 17:16thing that came to us in the mail, in the mailbox, not in the
- 17:20mail which I do have some ranting about the mail, but.
- 17:24Post office sucks. I'm just tired of fucking
- 17:28getting mail. I'm tired, I think.
- 17:31I'm sorry. I'm everything.
- 17:33Yeah, hold on. Yeah, let's go to the spam.
- 17:35We had a spam account and so we don't lose that Botox comment.
- 17:38We had a spam. Account really important shit
- 17:40we're talking about right now. Anyway, some somebody was
- 17:46pitching a guest to come on to the show and it was a doctor
- 17:50lady. Oh.
- 17:50And they did Botox. Based on a Florida Yeah, Botox
- 17:53along with some other stuff. I think, 'cause I did look her
- 17:56up. It's like, is this a real
- 17:59person? And then, you know, are they
- 18:01even in Kansas? And they weren't.
- 18:05Well, I. Mean does if they want to fly,
- 18:08If you want to fly and get on the podcast, come over.
- 18:11If you want us to drive, we're only drive.
- 18:13We're not flying to you unless you want to pay us then OK.
- 18:17No, it probably would have been pitched as legazine thing.
- 18:20Oh fuck no. Well, I'm sorry, Depends.
- 18:23Well, maybe until she got the vibe, it was like very
- 18:25promotional about your business, you know, like, there's so many
- 18:28podcasts where it's like, this is what I do and that's it, you
- 18:32know, Which there's nothing wrong with that.
- 18:34Yeah, but those get kind of boring, I think.
- 18:38I think so too. That's why I think we just talk
- 18:40about a lot of random shit, but with guests.
- 18:42And then we always still talk about the guests.
- 18:44So Speaking of Ashley, tell us about ICT Broke Girls.
- 18:50And then also what gets you into your Abedini business?
- 18:57I'm trying to go back to we're gonna be jumping around a lot.
- 19:00That's. That's fine.
- 19:02So. PhD Yeah, so I have ICT Broke
- 19:06Girls, and I actually started a food account way back when when
- 19:11I was living in Austin and it was ATX Broke Girls.
- 19:14ATX broke. Yeah, and I started it 'cause I
- 19:17mean, I felt like everybody in Austin was really rich, OK, you
- 19:20know, but it's. Like what does ETX stand?
- 19:22For Austin. Austin.
- 19:23Texas, you said? EATX.
- 19:27OK, OK, that helps me now, 'cause I heard, I heard.
- 19:30I understood the Texas part, but then you said ETX, I heard.
- 19:34I heard a. I mean, I think I'm high, I
- 19:37think. My mind filled in.
- 19:39It's all your meme. It's not doing this.
- 19:43But no, I mean, I realized like, I would go to these cheap happy
- 19:48hours and like everybody around me would go to these like bougie
- 19:52dinners and bougie stuff. And I'm like, how are people
- 19:54affording life right now? So like, I created an account
- 19:57that was like making fun of this pretension in Austin, you know,
- 20:01like it's a lot of like. Tech Bros and it's a lot of
- 20:04like, just like I've never met so many spoiled people and not
- 20:09like, I mean people just who had money that you just don't meet
- 20:11in Wichita. So I was like, this will be a
- 20:13relatable account. And I created that.
- 20:15And then I COVID happened and I decided to move back to Wichita
- 20:21and I was like, you know, I can create this account in Wichita
- 20:23there. At the time there wasn't like a
- 20:25ton of foodies. Now it seems like there's a lot.
- 20:27There's a lot. Of there's a lot, but at the
- 20:30time, like there was a few people that were doing it for a
- 20:34long time, but there weren't a lot of people on Instagram I
- 20:37found. So I tried to break into
- 20:38Instagram and I was like, I would love to get clients.
- 20:42I do social media management. So I was like that would be a
- 20:45great way to meet people in Wichita is to make a food
- 20:47account. And it helped.
- 20:49I feel like when I went out, I'm kind of an introvert.
- 20:53Like I'm not the most talkative person.
- 20:56Like I won't go up to somebody and just introduce myself.
- 20:58But like a lot of people were recognizing me for my account.
- 21:01So that really helped get some business, you know.
- 21:03But I feel like you've been good at not like your account is
- 21:07still very I. Don't show myself that's.
- 21:12What I'm saying? I think people know what I look
- 21:15like, but I don't show myself all the that much.
- 21:17I don't want it to be centered on me so, so much except like, I
- 21:21just wanted to feature restaurant owners.
- 21:23But I find, you know, people want to know who I am.
- 21:26Yes, and I hate it. Yeah.
- 21:28But it's like people want that, you know?
- 21:31And it's like, I think if you can try to be vulnerable in an
- 21:34authentic way, that's a really rare thing, you know?
- 21:37And it's like, I don't know if I'm like the most authentic
- 21:41person online, but I try to just be myself.
- 21:43And I think that's gone a long way, you know, 'cause it's like
- 21:46a lot of people are, are kind of similar.
- 21:49Like they post about food, but they don't necessarily show an
- 21:52insight into their life, you know?
- 21:54And it's like on my stories, I'm always joking.
- 21:56I'm always like showing clips of my life.
- 21:59So it's like, I don't know if you know everything about me,
- 22:02you might not see a picture of me every day, but you still have
- 22:05a good idea of who I am. Yeah.
- 22:06You know, yeah. That's the vibe I'm trying to go
- 22:08for anyway. Yeah.
- 22:09You know, but I've been trying to parlay that into social media
- 22:14success. And like I've been able to meet
- 22:16some people here in Wichita to help them with, with social
- 22:20media. A lot of restaurants when I
- 22:21first started, which I feel like it's really fun to like market
- 22:25restaurants. It's easy, you know, you just
- 22:27post pictures of food and people love it.
- 22:30Well. I mean, I guess on the, well,
- 22:32good pictures, I guess on the census, you don't have to think
- 22:35of too much of the, you do have to think of how you're going to
- 22:40talk through the content I'm talking about.
- 22:41Like you don't have to think about how to like where to find
- 22:45the pictures, where to find the stuff to be able to do this.
- 22:48Because I think like if we only posted pictures of us talking,
- 22:52that wouldn't go is great, yeah. Versus posting a plate of food.
- 22:55It's a mix. I think, you know, people want
- 22:57to experience a restaurant before they go in it, so they
- 23:00want to see like the is it Instagram able?
- 23:02Yeah, like that's ambiance, like the stuff about it, because a
- 23:05lot of times people won't even go into a new place if they
- 23:08haven't seen it online, if they don't know what to expect.
- 23:11That's a good, you know. Yeah, like now and now I'm
- 23:14hearing that a lot of people, a lot of Gen.
- 23:16Z does not Google as much they TikTok.
- 23:19So like their way to search is or that's.
- 23:21Their search engine? That's just crazy.
- 23:23I thought so too. Like I didn't know that.
- 23:24Like I remember when I start to feel better and I start
- 23:27traveling more, I'm asking friends like hey, I'm going to
- 23:29go over here. Where should I go?
- 23:31Or like, what restaurant should I hit up?
- 23:33And they're like, dude, just like go to TikTok and I'm like,
- 23:37what do you mean? And like, yeah, they're like,
- 23:40why are you Googling? And I'm like, because that's
- 23:43what we do. And then they're like, no, it's
- 23:46TikTok now. And I was like, what?
- 23:48And so it's funny, 'cause like on the TikTok account, we are
- 23:52posting things and sometimes I'll even post some stuff about
- 23:54my life. I'm trying to get Dusty to post
- 23:56some stuff about his life. We're both very much like, I
- 23:59don't want nobody in my life. We're like, but we have to.
- 24:03It's a balance, you know. Yeah, and TikTok.
- 24:07I'm just not on it. I'm at.
- 24:09All really. I don't post very much.
- 24:12I'm like chronically online TikTok but I'm not posting on my
- 24:16food account or. Anything.
- 24:18Yeah, but I I love it. Well, I mean, what I was going
- 24:20to say by that is like I had one low level video that I made
- 24:26about like it was like, oh, you seem happier.
- 24:30And then like, you know the trend of like you seem happier.
- 24:32And then it's like, thanks, whatever just happened.
- 24:34And so mine was like thanks my Pristiq just hit cause for real
- 24:39dude. Like an antidepressant?
- 24:41It is like dude like it. I'm feeling joy.
- 24:46It's crazy, but I'm also. Friends you know.
- 24:48Yeah, but now I'm also, I'm feeling all of the motions and I
- 24:52don't like. Like how do I feel something
- 24:55without feeling everything? Yeah, I'm like, I'm getting off
- 24:58the meds. Fuck that, I said.
- 24:59I'm staying on the meds 'cause it was cool, 'cause of the.
- 25:01Are you off meds now? No.
- 25:03Oh, you're on meds? That's.
- 25:04No, I'm saying like that's my new stance.
- 25:07Oh, OK. Like for the listeners, I'm
- 25:10talking about this stuff all the time.
- 25:13And I said stay on the meds guys, they work, get off the
- 25:16meds because I'm tired of feeling.
- 25:19That's relatable. That's relatable.
- 25:21I'm bipolar. So like, oh, you, you don't like
- 25:25bipolar? People don't want to take their
- 25:26medicine, you know? Oh, that's funny, that.
- 25:30Makes sense. So are you on meds for the
- 25:32bipolar? Yeah, I'm on meds.
- 25:34Meds are good. Let's take your meds.
- 25:37I got the best. I don't want to pull a Kanye,
- 25:40you know what I mean? Like I don't want to be an.
- 25:42Asshole. That's somebody I also heard
- 25:44about earlier today. That's funny that you're talking
- 25:47shit about. I mean I was this is related to
- 25:50all the Nazi stuff, but how are? You getting on these topics?
- 25:54Unfortunate for Kanye, I guess. Or maybe not.
- 25:57Unfortunate for him because he's the anyway.
- 26:02You know what's sad? I love Kanye's music.
- 26:05Like I just posted a reel to like one of Kanye's song, but I,
- 26:08I felt conflicted because I was like, he's a like a Nazi, right?
- 26:11Like yeah, saying some crazy shit, but I mean.
- 26:14Yeah, his new album had a song called Hill Hitler.
- 26:16No fucking way I have it I. Didn't know that to.
- 26:19Be honest, I didn't know that I didn't either.
- 26:21But everybody knew this. No.
- 26:22Well OK, I am a Kanye fan too. I feel the same way.
- 26:25He even made a music video and. He's bipolar and I love like the
- 26:29fan. He's bipolar.
- 26:29He has some songs that talk. About it.
- 26:31Oh my God, I just realized I just did that on camera.
- 26:35Edit that. One said.
- 26:37It wasn't me, it was Kanye. If I get cancelled guys.
- 26:44This is going to be the episode that gets us cancelled.
- 26:46We've been looking. We've been.
- 26:47Searching for it actually it was a food account it almost took us
- 26:51episode 48 to get. Here and I think.
- 26:54That's a really good thing you. Know I'm going to put out a
- 26:57press release once I get out of here I'll be late so.
- 27:02It's a good thing you're a marketer, you know you know how
- 27:04to manage this. I'll.
- 27:05I'll just be like, PR crisis averted.
- 27:07Oh. Man, you know, I mean his old
- 27:09music was really good. It was really good and that OK,
- 27:13it's hard when do we do the full cancel culture because I feel
- 27:18like cancel culture isn't good right but there and but then
- 27:22there's. Some ask.
- 27:22I don't know cancel culture's like that's, that's a loaded
- 27:26thing, you know, it's. Such a loaded thing.
- 27:28It's getting crazy. I mean, it's getting crazy.
- 27:30People get passionate about just cancelling someone just to like,
- 27:34I feel like we want, we praise people, we praise celebrities
- 27:38all the time and we get them on the status and then we love to
- 27:41watch them fall, which there's something sick about that.
- 27:44Like I get it. Yeah, you know, especially do I
- 27:46love that. That's why I love Island is like
- 27:48that too. Like I watched the whole.
- 27:49Season too fast. I feel like I've watched love
- 27:51island on TikTok. OK fair which is embarrassing.
- 27:54I haven't watched like the whole episodes.
- 27:56I do think that's fine. You're getting well, unless
- 27:58you're seeing. I'm probably getting like an
- 28:00edited version I'm sure. Yeah, or you're not seeing like
- 28:02the whole episode where they also do a lot of the challenges.
- 28:06I don't know if you. I haven't watched like the Love
- 28:08Island Challenge. OK, no.
- 28:09So they so they also have to do challenges and they're very
- 28:12sexual. Or OK, I've seen OK as part of
- 28:15the Love Island show. OK, Yeah.
- 28:17But what I'm trying to say by that is like I and I watched it
- 28:21too. I didn't stop watching it, but
- 28:23like looking at how they go through it and like forcing them
- 28:28into these situations where they have to go and make these deep
- 28:31connections supposedly, right, But you have to go do this deep
- 28:35connection. They're they're there I think
- 28:38for like a month or something. It's a short amount of time.
- 28:42It's not a lot, but. They're supposed to find the
- 28:44love of their life. Yeah, and they're supposed to
- 28:46also. So they don't have any contact
- 28:49to the outside world. The phones that they have are
- 28:51not like they can't talk to their family.
- 28:53So it's only them and they're with them.
- 28:55They're told when to wake up, when to go to sleep, and you're
- 28:58not allowed to feel your feelings.
- 28:59So like, how does crash out kind of make sense?
- 29:02Like honestly, all of them. Like I just kept thinking like
- 29:06they're really pushing them like to do a lot of these things.
- 29:10And I'm not saying that that's a bad thing, but like it's you
- 29:13start to normalize certain. Stuff 100%.
- 29:15And and it's like could. You imagine living with your
- 29:18partner. Yeah, like.
- 29:19Or like, you're the love interest you have and you're
- 29:21living with them and all you do is hang out with them because
- 29:23there's nothing else to do. Yeah.
- 29:25So it's like you're gonna feel very strong when it's weird that
- 29:29a lot of the couples, when they get out, they won't even say
- 29:32they're in a relationship, which is real because if you've only
- 29:35known somebody for a month, maybe you don't want to like,
- 29:38rush into that. But it's weird because it's Love
- 29:40Island and your whole premise of your success is who you partner
- 29:44with. Yeah.
- 29:44Afterwards, Yeah. Like I was watching.
- 29:47It's weird. I was telling a friend about
- 29:48this, but on TikTok, I'm everything is pro Huda.
- 29:53But like I was going to a watch party with some friends and
- 29:55everybody hated Huda and like the IT was like had people had
- 29:59such an opinion about her and. Everyone has opinion.
- 30:02On on my TikTok, all I thought saw was like good things about
- 30:04her. So I was like pro Huda.
- 30:06But then I went into the watch party and everybody was like, so
- 30:08anti Huda. Yeah, she is.
- 30:10I think she's narcissistic. She is.
- 30:13She is. But I mean, for sure, they're
- 30:16all reality stars. Aren't they all kind of
- 30:18narcissistic? Maybe yes.
- 30:19She's definitely. I mean she was annoying in a lot
- 30:23of the episodes I think. I think that I think her crush
- 30:26shot was valid though. Which one?
- 30:28I mean like the first one, you know?
- 30:33That's fair. That's fair.
- 30:34I think the first one is valid in terms no, like it's valid in
- 30:37the fact of that she's feeling her emotions.
- 30:40I'm not saying. 'Cause that's such good TV.
- 30:43The the the other part of emotions right is that they they
- 30:47are always valid in like, but that doesn't mean that they're
- 30:50logical. I mean, I'm not.
- 30:52Saying that she's logical for going crazy, I'd.
- 30:54Probably come off as a crazy bitch, honestly.
- 30:56Yeah, so I get it. Editing's probably not great
- 30:59either. Yeah, but.
- 31:01Yeah, what I don't know what I'm trying to say is she cracked
- 31:04like dude, as in there was a lot of pressure that they get on
- 31:08there. And then I think the UK one,
- 31:12there were like a couple of them that committed suicide after the
- 31:14show. Like like just the the mental
- 31:17shit that goes with that. Like you're forcing someone to
- 31:19go and get a deep connection, but you're pushing this on them.
- 31:23But you have to do a multiple of them.
- 31:24You're not allowed to process any of.
- 31:26It, I feel like frankly, people shouldn't be that hot.
- 31:32I'm just being real. Like if I was like, as hot as
- 31:35some of these people on Love Island, like, I would be a
- 31:38menace, you know what I mean? Yeah.
- 31:41Just, I mean, I don't think I'm ugly, but I don't think I'm
- 31:44like, I don't think I'm getting scouted for Love Island 25 or
- 31:47whatever the fuck they're on, you know what I mean?
- 31:50Like. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 31:53It's just how God or the universe made them I guess.
- 31:57A joke that I look like of the farms.
- 32:01You don't. You don't even mean by that.
- 32:02Like why? I could be living in maze, you
- 32:06know what I mean? And I don't mean that as a put
- 32:08down a maze. This.
- 32:09Is so hilarious but you know what I mean.
- 32:12Y'all need to follow I? Think in more of like the
- 32:14countryside of Rhode Island. Oh, that's, I love that.
- 32:18That's a compliment. Yeah.
- 32:19Like you're like, but you don't belong in.
- 32:22You got Like Maze, you go to, you got.
- 32:24Like 2 cows and you take your yard dog on a walk next to the
- 32:30coast. Yard Dog.
- 32:33I love it. That sounds.
- 32:34Nice. That's true, because the dog
- 32:35can't go inside the house. Because you live on a farm, you
- 32:37love your animals, but they all live outside.
- 32:40It's OK because he hangs out there.
- 32:42And I'm just chilling with my animals.
- 32:45Honestly, it doesn't sound too. Bad garden.
- 32:47Yeah, yeah, like real gardens and fake gardens.
- 32:52I think real garden. Check on.
- 32:53Check on the tomatoes and. The corn I love that I'll turn
- 32:57into like my mom, my mom gardens.
- 33:00I want a garden but I just you do.
- 33:01Garden. It's in your jeans.
- 33:03It is in my jeans. Wait, like how my ancestors
- 33:10wanted, you know, so. What wait you have to do us now?
- 33:15Do what? Like what?
- 33:16Dusty just said. I don't know what my is.
- 33:18Yeah, yeah, you can go. I don't know.
- 33:24Yeah, I feel like the blue hair, yeah, is a characteristic that
- 33:28will go with you somewhere. Yeah.
- 33:30I feel like I can't escape. I love it though.
- 33:32I love it, don't get me wrong. How?
- 33:34Long Have you had blue hair? For like 2 years maybe now.
- 33:37Shit, that's dedication. Or maybe over a year, right?
- 33:42Yeah. Over a year.
- 33:43You meet a corporate lesbian wife and you both live in West
- 33:46Virginia. Hell yeah.
- 33:50But I don't have a Pixie haircut.
- 33:51Why West Virginia, though? Yeah.
- 33:53Cuz you have you both have corporate jobs.
- 33:57OK, I wanna be out of corporate. And you get sushi every other
- 34:02Friday. OK.
- 34:05Is that like a what she looks forward to?
- 34:08Yeah, like the the social event of them.
- 34:11Because you do. I do anything else.
- 34:15How can we make a lot more? Excited your corporate job is in
- 34:18your social nonprofit area that you want to be in, but your
- 34:21lesbian wife is still straight major corporate and because of
- 34:25how busy she is at her job, you guys can only go get sushi in
- 34:29the. Future Everyone's gay, you know.
- 34:32I like where this goes, but I also don't.
- 34:35I feel like OK, they'll keep you.
- 34:36Down to be straight hetero. Get out of here.
- 34:42I have seen a lot of those trends really popping up lately.
- 34:45Like our daughter is a heterosexual you.
- 34:49Know. What the fuck but.
- 34:54What are you going to? Do it's because I'm imagining my
- 34:59life, I think like it could be like a skyscraper, apartment
- 35:03building, maybe a loft. I see.
- 35:05I see a loft in this scenario. Hell yeah.
- 35:09Well, I mean, I'd be OK if she has a Pixie cut and she's super
- 35:13corporate. I'd be OK if it was like a it's
- 35:16not Amber Rose, but the other girl, you know what I'm talking
- 35:19about. She's lesbian too.
- 35:20And she, no, Amber Rose is not lesbian.
- 35:22I think she's bisexual, but she's a white girl.
- 35:28Like surprisingly that I'm saying her.
- 35:30I know. She's what?
- 35:31She's a white girl. Well, I don't know what side of
- 35:35white. I guess very soon she's white.
- 35:38What pigment? What?
- 35:39Pigment. Yeah, I don't know what pigment.
- 35:41I don't know what pigment, but Oh my God, it's going to kill
- 35:44me, you guys. Like she.
- 35:47Oh, she was on. Yeah, we need more clues.
- 35:49I. Know OK, she was in Orange is
- 35:52the New Black, she goes into pitch perfect three and she's
- 35:55playing the song Zombies. You know what I'm talking about.
- 35:59I love Orange is the New Black. She's in like season 6 of Orange
- 36:04is the New Black. She has hella tattoos.
- 36:06She has a Justin Bieber haircut. She looks more.
- 36:10Like I don't know, I'm chronically online but can't
- 36:17think of this one I know. Rose actress, This is gonna
- 36:24bother me 'cause I can't. Oh, I found her.
- 36:28Ruby Rose, yes, I you you guys want to know what I googled.
- 36:35I didn't go to TikTok. I put in lesbian Rose actress
- 36:41and it it popped up Ruby Rose anyways that that's as long as a
- 36:47lesbian is like Ruby Rose type of lesbian like as in she has to
- 36:52be hella tatted. I don't think I'm going to go
- 36:54for a budget. Yeah, I don't want, I don't
- 36:55think I'd go for a budget. But like, you're so pretty.
- 36:59You'd be the pretty like, well, there's pretty, pretty lesbians.
- 37:02There's a lot of. Yeah, I've.
- 37:04Met a lot of feminine. Ruby Rose is hot.
- 37:07There's a lot of yeah. I don't know.
- 37:09I can't honestly picture her, No.
- 37:12And orange is the New Black. She looks great there too, and
- 37:15she just looks great in general, like.
- 37:16She's like one of those. I don't know she's.
- 37:18Just really, she should be on Love Island, you know?
- 37:20She should be. She's a yeah, but she also seems
- 37:23like, not like, she seems like she's very much like fuck out of
- 37:26here type of vibe, which I love. Yeah, she's too bad for.
- 37:30Yeah, yeah. Like she's too much of A.
- 37:32Body she or like, she's just a bad girl.
- 37:35Oh, OK, that's Ruby Rose. I love her tattoos.
- 37:37Yeah, she's pretty tatted. I love that look even though
- 37:41it's like. Did you know she DJ Ed for a
- 37:43little bit? No.
- 37:45How cool You You love the look of tattoos?
- 37:47Yeah. I well, I have a client that
- 37:50they produce piercing needles for piercings and so I've been
- 37:54like getting into piercings, not like doing them, but I think
- 37:59piercings and tattoos are so cool.
- 38:01Yeah, you know, Yeah, it's become an aesthetic for sure.
- 38:04Yeah, I mean, it's more acceptable.
- 38:06You can have more piercings and tattoos.
- 38:09And yeah, you know, back in the day, like, you really weren't
- 38:12able to have much tattoos in like, corporate.
- 38:14Settings. No, no, you know.
- 38:17Yeah, but I mean at the library even like everyone's tatted.
- 38:20Yeah, I do love to see that. I love to see that people even
- 38:23have like just one or something that they're allowed or allowed
- 38:27or feel confident, comfortable to be able to express
- 38:30themselves. Like I do like that too.
- 38:31Yeah, yeah, I know. I'm like thinking of getting
- 38:34another tattoo. All mine are like covered, OK,
- 38:36you know, but it's like, I don't know where I'd get it.
- 38:41Are you at the point where it doesn't matter but.
- 38:44I don't. I think I was raised.
- 38:47My dad's from. You're looking at Iran.
- 38:49I don't know that. I saw it.
- 38:51Don't look. You can't look there.
- 38:55I was just raised conservative, man.
- 38:57Like when I told my parents that I like, got a tattoo, that was a
- 39:00big deal. Oh, my dad stopped talking to
- 39:02me. My dad stopped.
- 39:03Talking to me for six months, so I get it.
- 39:06That's crazy. I'd go to Dodge and I'd be like,
- 39:09hi dad. And you'd be like, he was very
- 39:12mad at me. And see, I was like also the
- 39:14first essentially of the cousins too that got 1.
- 39:18So I'm the first of the kids. My dad's the oldest.
- 39:21And so, you know, he kind of has to like push us to set examples
- 39:26too, in a way, but not really like a lot of, I have a lot of
- 39:28cousins who are my age too, and some that are older.
- 39:31No, I get that my mom was like hide your tattoo from your dad
- 39:35and like I never, I mean my dad's past, but like I never
- 39:38told him that I had a tattoo. You didn't.
- 39:40I think he just, I mean he found out.
- 39:42Yeah, OK. But I think it was something
- 39:44like he didn't want to talk about it.
- 39:45He didn't want to ask me and I never wanted to tell him, you
- 39:47know? Yeah, well, my first one, I got
- 39:49this one. And then like I told my mom I
- 39:51was going to get it. I hadn't been prepping them for
- 39:53years because I've always been kind of weird.
- 39:56I was 18 when it happened. Are you like the black sheep?
- 39:58Kind of. Yeah, I'm definitely the black
- 40:00sheep of the family. And yeah, yeah.
- 40:04I get that. But I've been prepping them for
- 40:07years about this and they're like, they're telling me that.
- 40:14Oh yeah, no, I tell my mom like, I'm going to get the tattoo now.
- 40:17I it's the first week that I move out of the house too.
- 40:20And I'm like, I'm going to get the tattoo now.
- 40:22And then she's like, no, right. You know, she's finally like,
- 40:25whatever you're gonna do, whatever the fuck you want.
- 40:27But she doesn't really want me to.
- 40:28But she's like, OK. And then I sent her a picture of
- 40:30it. She didn't realize how big it
- 40:31was gonna be. I just told her I'm getting it.
- 40:34She. She.
- 40:34Probably thought it was like a small little bass thing and then
- 40:37and then it's and. Then and then it's a, it's a
- 40:40dragon wrapped around a spade. There's words in it, you know
- 40:43what I mean? And then so she's like, she
- 40:47calls me right away. What the hell?
- 40:49Whoa. In Spanish, obviously, like and
- 40:52she's like Porcade said the menu.
- 40:54Why that size? And Porcade, you're not pinching
- 40:57my report like she's cussing. I mean, my mom does not cuss,
- 41:00which she's like, you couldn't even get a fucking butterfly.
- 41:03Like you go and get a fucking dragon.
- 41:06What the fuck is wrong? Like she's mad.
- 41:08She's like, your dad's gonna freak.
- 41:10Out. Yeah, she's so mad.
- 41:12No, I mean, she's freaking out, she's mad at me, she's getting
- 41:14me in trouble. And I'm like, mom, I told you I
- 41:17was getting this. Like, I don't know why you're.
- 41:19She like didn't really ask a lot of questions so.
- 41:21Yeah, You know, she was just like, OK, yeah.
- 41:24And then after the first, like my, my grandparents were pretty
- 41:28good about it. My dad was very mad.
- 41:29So it's also, again, it's the first week I move out.
- 41:32And so my siblings are like. Well, I like you're like, fuck
- 41:35it, I'm out. Exactly because I wanted to get
- 41:39it. I was supposed to get it.
- 41:40Well, no, I'm not. I'm about to be 19 because I was
- 41:43supposed to get it last year and or a couple of months ago.
- 41:47And I was just like, you know, I've been waiting because of
- 41:50them. And out of respect, I was, I was
- 41:53under my father's roof. Those are his rules.
- 41:56I have a new roof. Those are my rules.
- 42:00I get that. I get that.
- 42:02You know, I didn't. I waited.
- 42:04I don't know how old I was. I was in college OR.
- 42:07My my mission was always. Painted them at that point so
- 42:10it's like what's? In my mission was always to get
- 42:12tattoos like when I so like in high school, I get into youth
- 42:17entrepreneurs, the classroom. Do you know the class what I'm
- 42:20talking about? I'm familiar.
- 42:23I get. From Wichita.
- 42:23Yeah, I never, I went to like a small school wouldn't have that,
- 42:27but I'm familiar. I know a lot of schools had
- 42:30entrepreneurship yeah programs, which is really neat.
- 42:33Yeah, so like there was a moment too, when I like, I just really
- 42:37like art. And so I had gone real into the
- 42:41tattoo artist route and like, wanting to do that.
- 42:44And so like I was like I've been telling you for years, like I
- 42:48plan and get pretty that too. Especially if you're like the
- 42:51black sheep of the family. I feel like I am.
- 42:53And it's not that I do crazy things.
- 42:55Yeah, at all, really. I think these are mild things.
- 42:58I've done, I'm like kind of impulsive sometimes and that
- 43:01scares my family. Yeah, you know.
- 43:03It's cuz your impulsivity is just not as calculated as
- 43:08theirs, you know what I mean? But it doesn't sound like it's
- 43:10impulsive because I get what you're.
- 43:11Saying my family is just not impulsive, like they plan stuff
- 43:14out. Like the thought of like, me
- 43:16starting a business was kind of wild.
- 43:18Oh, OK. You know, And it's like for
- 43:20them, yeah, I flew out of a plane once, which, like, was
- 43:23wild like, you know what I mean? I just.
- 43:25Did you say you fell out of a plane?
- 43:26Not fell. Oh, you jumped.
- 43:29Jumped. Jumped.
- 43:31I mean, did you do that was. Like like skydive.
- 43:33Yeah, Skydive, I should have specified.
- 43:35Did you do a? That makes it sound bad.
- 43:37Like doesn't sound less dangerous.
- 43:39Do a flip. That's my.
- 43:41Dark humor you're. Gonna go out man, just do a
- 43:46flip. Now you probably wouldn't feel
- 43:48it. I gotta do.
- 43:49That. It's that far, but you know,
- 43:52just stuff like that. But I mean, I was a good kid.
- 43:54I like I was all, I don't know, like I didn't.
- 43:57I was a really good kid too. I didn't do anything bad.
- 44:00Austria days, I'm like my class was like 450 graduating class
- 44:05and I'm top 50 and you're like, I was a good kid like and I was
- 44:09all in honor and I mean. You know, I've had some issues
- 44:11with like bipolar. I have scared my parents for all
- 44:14so. Yeah, like a.
- 44:17Valid. There's some valid things, you
- 44:18know, and I don't know, my sister, my older sister, she's
- 44:22just like does everything by the book.
- 44:24And I love my sister. She's very organized, you know,
- 44:28like she has a goal, she sets it, she makes it.
- 44:31It's just, I don't know how to describe it.
- 44:33It's like she has a 20 year goal, you know what I mean?
- 44:36And I'm just not like that at all.
- 44:38I'm not organized. I don't think in like details.
- 44:41I don't know. I do.
- 44:43I used to even I used to have a plan out like that.
- 44:45I used to do that. I used to be very like this is
- 44:47when I'm doing this, we do need a transition at some point.
- 44:51This is when I'm going to do this and the transition was to
- 44:53him as a sidebar. I feel like I have goals.
- 44:59I I they're not structured as like.
- 45:01I need to accomplish this by the time I'm 40.
- 45:04Or no, I did. That, you know, and I think
- 45:06there's nothing wrong with that. Like people are different, but.
- 45:09I don't do that anymore. I used to be very like.
- 45:12That I used to think I'd have my life like together at a certain
- 45:18age and I would like have my person, you know, and it's like,
- 45:22you know, I'm 36 and I don't and I don't, I, I think I have my
- 45:26shit together to some degree. Yeah, but like.
- 45:28What is shit together? That's what is normal.
- 45:32There is no normal. There is no get together like
- 45:36that's true. We're always constantly going
- 45:38through shit like that's just the reality and we're constantly
- 45:43changing and growing. And if you're not changing and
- 45:47growing, life is changing and growing, and you're going to be
- 45:52stuck because it's going to keep.
- 45:54You need to evolve, and sometimes having that specific
- 45:57idea fucks it up a little bit, you know?
- 46:00But, you know, yeah, it's good to have a goal in mind, I think.
- 46:04Yeah, yeah, I used to be very like, and I'm going to do this
- 46:08and I'm going to day by day, I'm going to do this and I'm
- 46:10building the habits like this and I am very habitual like I
- 46:13am. But also that a lot of that
- 46:17stemmed from, I think, like I just felt like I had to be an
- 46:20overachiever. I had to go and prove myself.
- 46:23I had to go. Like the expectations people put
- 46:25on you. Yeah, yeah, Especially with how
- 46:27I am, how expressive I am, how weird I am, how black sheep I
- 46:32am. It was like, oh, she's going to
- 46:33fail. I like, it was a lot of like,
- 46:35oh, she's going to get pregnant. But when she's in high school
- 46:38and I'm like. That's horrible that somebody
- 46:41would even say that. Yeah, you know.
- 46:42Yeah, it is. It is very mean.
- 46:44And so like I felt like I just never even wanted a like date
- 46:47either. Like I just always felt like too
- 46:50young, too dumb, like I don't want to date because like, and
- 46:54then I didn't want anybody to look at me because of that
- 46:56either. And then I don't know, like it
- 46:58was just anyways, whatever. But all that to say, it's like I
- 47:02realized that I used to put my value to my output.
- 47:05Like that's how I used to equate my value, that it was like, if I
- 47:08did this, then I'm valuable. If I do this, then I'm if I own
- 47:13this, if I open this, if I get this certificate, if I whatever.
- 47:16Like I used to think like that. And I mean really and learned
- 47:20that. 100% I think at the end of the day, we're valuable people
- 47:23regardless of our output. Yes, yeah.
- 47:25You know, and it's like we, we live in a society where we're
- 47:28always on this hamster. We all like we have to get a ton
- 47:30of shit done to determine our worth.
- 47:32And it's like. No.
- 47:34There's that. I mean, that's just one aspect
- 47:36of our life, you know, But I don't know.
- 47:40We need a transition for a drink.
- 47:42That was my transition. Great, let's.
- 47:45Get it? Great transition.
- 47:47Thanks guys, this is a good conversation.
- 48:01Here's to you. It's supported by One Life
- 48:03Spirits. One Life Spirits is built on
- 48:05purpose, culture, good people and good drinks so you can live
- 48:08one life to the fullest. That means shots that are
- 48:11smooth, tasteful, and pair perfectly with a lime.
- 48:14Or our favorite, in orange. Because if you're still chasing
- 48:17tequila with it, lime, what are you doing?
- 48:20That orange slice brings out the bright citrus notes of Unavida
- 48:24Blanco, which is smooth, authentic and tasteful.
- 48:28Like myself. Plus, Una Vida is 100% additive
- 48:32free, so you're enjoying tequila in its purest form without the
- 48:35hangover regret. Yeah, because it takes us three
- 48:38to five business days to recover now, and Hangzad is not my
- 48:42friend. That's why you should stick with
- 48:45una Vida or try cocktails instead of shots.
- 48:47OK, love a little. One Life Spirits also crafts El
- 48:50Drago High Post vodkas and LeBron whiskey all bold, smooth
- 48:55and made to share. Whether it's game night, date
- 48:57night or just Tuesday night, they've got the pores covered.
- 49:00Because it's not just about taste, but it's about that
- 49:03feeling. And we're proud spirits knobs.
- 49:06So treat yourself. Visit onelifespirits.com, swing
- 49:09by the One Life Spirits bar inside of El Primo, or grab a
- 49:13bottle at your local liquor store.
- 49:15Cheers. Yeah, we are back for segment #2
- 49:21with Miss Ashley Abedini. Abedini Social bringing her into
- 49:28the second segment with a proper introduction since we didn't do
- 49:32it on the first segment. Ashley, we made a drink for you
- 49:36today. How are you feeling about it?
- 49:39I'm feeling pretty good. Yeah, I like it.
- 49:42Famous Sir, what do we make for today?
- 49:44We made a bloody Pineapple Mary, which I don't really love, but I
- 49:50do it because I love you guys. I'm just a person of the people
- 49:56I just give. And no, I'm kidding.
- 49:58I like it. Well, it's just, it is good.
- 50:01It is good. But you had said that you like
- 50:04Bloody Marys, you're a foodie. And then like your other option
- 50:07was something sweet. But I was like, no, we can't
- 50:09make a simple basic sweet drink. Like it has to have substance.
- 50:13And I do. I feel like Bloody Marys have
- 50:15substance. They do.
- 50:17You know they're complex. Not complex, but weird.
- 50:20It's the Oprah of cocktails, I guess.
- 50:25Yeah, you know, and it's good for recovery, I guess.
- 50:27But today we also had some high post vodka in there because we
- 50:30haven't had a chance to use the high post vodka.
- 50:33Shout out to One Life Spirits for that.
- 50:35And of course, we had to add some, you know, pineapple juice
- 50:39because we need some sweet. We had to add that complexity.
- 50:42Yeah. We'll see if Dusty puts this in
- 50:46the video. And if you do, you're going to
- 50:49enjoy it because I ran off in the middle of it.
- 50:52I think you should post it, but I mean, of course, all depends.
- 50:56Anyways, we were talking about overachieving and overdoing
- 51:01things right before we went to break.
- 51:04So I kind of want to talk a little bit about even just like
- 51:06how do you balance that with owning your business, still
- 51:08doing ICT broke girls, Where do you draw the line between like
- 51:12what's hobby, what's what's like your passion project?
- 51:15Because I think they're still a little different between hobby
- 51:17and passion project, right? And then when your business
- 51:21comes in and then when do you still, you know, well, I guess
- 51:23yeah. And when do you need to still do
- 51:25the part time stuff? Like when do you have time?
- 51:27When do you do the gardening? Like, how do you make sure that
- 51:30you're not overachieving or like only overachieving some things
- 51:35like gardening, you know? Yeah.
- 51:37I mean, I think it's it's totally a balance.
- 51:39We were talking before about how I recharge.
- 51:42I have to recharge a lot. And I find that especially with
- 51:46like, social media, you know, so much of it is the social aspect
- 51:50of it. So I do have to recharge.
- 51:52Yeah. You know, and I think it's kind
- 51:54of all connected. Like my food account is is just
- 51:58pictures of food. But it's like, that's how I get
- 52:00a lot of my clients, you know? So it's all kind of connected.
- 52:03And I try to think about that because, you know, like figuring
- 52:07out what to do, that's most more important.
- 52:10It's kind of hard because, you know, you have to do client
- 52:13work. But aside from that, it's like
- 52:14what's getting you leads? Yeah, you know, and I don't
- 52:17know, I mean, I think it's just, I don't know.
- 52:20That's that's a loaded question. It's hard.
- 52:23It is, you know, but you make time for what's important to you
- 52:26and. So aside, so tell me a little
- 52:28bit about your recharge day a little bit more.
- 52:29I understand that it that means that it's probably just you
- 52:32time, but like, walk us through your recharge day.
- 52:34Do you get on? Is there a day where you just
- 52:37are like I'm not doing social media, I'm not doing any
- 52:39consumption from a social media aspect, or I'm only doing
- 52:43consumption in the, in the way of like maybe a movie or show or
- 52:48whatever that might be. Or like I want to go to a museum
- 52:50or nature consumption or gardening consumption or
- 52:53whatever that might be, you know?
- 52:55So what is your recharge day? Yeah, I mean, I feel like to
- 52:58some degree I always have to be on social media because I'm, I
- 53:01have clients and it's like I have to respond within a day to
- 53:04Instagram. So I try to just be off of it as
- 53:07much as I can and. What is that?
- 53:09I want to know what your screen time is.
- 53:11Oh, girl, it's it's probably crazy.
- 53:13Like it's embarrassing. I'm like, am I sleeping?
- 53:16Like OK. OK, I have to know because my
- 53:18ever since we've done. What's normal?
- 53:20I don't even know. Ever since we've switched to,
- 53:24you know, video now and also putting up more things like my
- 53:28consumption has gone so high on social media.
- 53:31I used to have two hours Max and I had even blocks on them and
- 53:34now daily. That was daily and now it it's
- 53:39embarrassingly high, like 6-7 hours and then also my screen
- 53:44time on my phone 'cause I use my phone for a lot of things for
- 53:46work for. Dude, it's like every 13 hours,
- 53:49okay you. Better feel better because mine
- 53:50was 9. I'm getting during the week.
- 53:53That's and that's This is why I'm asking the recharge today
- 53:56because Saturdays and Sundays, that's when my consumption time
- 54:00is finally low. Like it's like 5 hours, four
- 54:03hours, whatever. But like, it's during the week
- 54:06because that's also when I'm posting.
- 54:07Yeah, I, I mean, I work part time at the library, so I work
- 54:11for myself like during the day. But Friday and Saturday are my
- 54:15off days, so I just try to be offline as much as I can, like
- 54:18being outside. I love walking, going on long
- 54:22walks. I love gardening before my
- 54:23walks. I love that, you know, and it's
- 54:25just so relaxing. Yeah, gardening's fun.
- 54:27You know, and it's like when it's beautiful weather, I try to
- 54:30take advantage of that. You prefer botanical gardening
- 54:33versus like, like grinding into a drink type of thing, right?
- 54:38I don't fuck around with like a lot of this stuff.
- 54:41Yeah, you, you, you just stick to the basics.
- 54:44Smoke. I have a pipe.
- 54:45Yeah, you know, just an apple or an orange, whatever's at home.
- 54:51I'm trying to get into edibles because like I don't want to
- 54:53smell people like judge you if you smell like weed.
- 54:57You know that's true. That's.
- 54:58True, so like I'm trying to do edibles for a few reasons but
- 55:01I'm I'm just not there yet. I just, I like meet you, you
- 55:04know, I just thought of somebody at my day job.
- 55:08I was going out to lunch the other day and I walked past the
- 55:12vehicle and it's like, oh, it's really.
- 55:15Hot bugs. I could, I could smell it before
- 55:17I even got to whatever vehicle it was.
- 55:20But as soon as I walked past that vehicle, definitely could
- 55:23smell it. There wasn't even anybody in the
- 55:25car. They just had their like sunroof
- 55:27tilted open and it's like, dude, your thing must reek.
- 55:30If the doors are shut and your things open, I can smell it and
- 55:34it's like you're 10 feet away. When you're like a Stoner, it's
- 55:36like when you have a cat, you don't realize you have a cat and
- 55:39it smells like a cat. What do you mean?
- 55:42Yeah no my friends, y'all better tell me.
- 55:45And, you know, I'm so self-conscious of that, that my
- 55:48house is gonna smell like cat because of the litter.
- 55:51I have two cats. Yeah, two.
- 55:52I love my cats, but like Tibs has had problems and so.
- 55:57But how small? They have good shit now.
- 55:59Like good. Yeah, and right now I think I'm
- 56:01trying to switch. So if anybody knows of good
- 56:03Kitty. Litter.
- 56:04I mean, I get ads for like all these automated cat litter
- 56:07things, but I'm like, do they think I'm just like this old
- 56:09woman who's just like, dying alone with cats?
- 56:13It's like the lesbian allegations for me.
- 56:15I hate when everyone's always like, you look like you're
- 56:18interesting and I'm just like. For me, it's like you look like
- 56:23you will die alone and it's like, all right.
- 56:26I don't know what's worse. I hate it though too because I'm
- 56:28one and you're getting overly sexualized and then another and
- 56:31you're like getting underly. Sexualized.
- 56:33Yeah, I'm underly sexualized. I like that word and.
- 56:37I don't mean. That how dare you not sexualize
- 56:40me enough. How dare you sexualize me too
- 56:43much? Trying to get trying to get
- 56:44under sexualized. You're like asexual I guess.
- 56:52I wish I was a starfish because starfish are asexual and I mean
- 56:57they can just. Repopulate I feel like.
- 56:59Asexuality is. Like probably a power.
- 57:03No. Because what do you do with all
- 57:04that? Time.
- 57:06So you're not like in a relationship or seeking a
- 57:09relationship or you care about a relationship?
- 57:11Well, I mean, that's what friends are for.
- 57:12That's what family's for. Like I value my friendships a
- 57:15lot. The relationships that I take
- 57:17your coven. OK, I'm.
- 57:20Single. Hey, it's out there.
- 57:23How would somebody be able to reach out to you for that?
- 57:25DMS? I have an Instagram account like
- 57:30it's not hard to find me. Right, right, right.
- 57:32Yeah. So what is your can we get well
- 57:36and anything is off topics. I forgot to tell you guys that,
- 57:39Ashley said. We can talk, I feel.
- 57:40Like I'm going to be like, oh wait, it's a backpack.
- 57:46Which is totally fine. But yeah, what as you're dating
- 57:51or wanting to date, what is one way that you like to be called
- 57:56upon? What does that mean?
- 57:59Called upon, I'm trying to say like Bridger, Ted Bridger, Ted
- 58:03Netflix. Whereas like they're doing,
- 58:06they're doing, they're calling girls as in like they're, oh,
- 58:10you have a gentleman caller. Yeah, this early 1900s.
- 58:14Like how do they? They used to so they had to like
- 58:18announce to the mom and ask the mom's permission because the mom
- 58:21was kind of like the one of the the decision for that of when I
- 58:26mean my daughter should have to procreate and she needs to be a
- 58:29good. Mother, what she's trying to say
- 58:30is how do you like to be wooed? Yeah, you.
- 58:33Know I was explaining it. Thank you.
- 58:35Food I feel like if I feel like that's a good, I have like a
- 58:40prompt on one of my dating apps, like what's your favorite
- 58:43restaurant? And I feel like I've gotten
- 58:45really good answers and like I've checked out places from
- 58:48people's prompts. So like if you like trying new
- 58:51foods, like that's cool. You know, there's a lot of
- 58:54people that don't eat a lot of like.
- 58:56Things. No, I hate that too.
- 58:59They're just very picky. It's very sad for them, like it
- 59:03makes me sad for them because they're missing out on some
- 59:06really good. Shit, a lot of people just eat
- 59:07like chicken, you know, and. I eat healthy, I meal prep a
- 59:11lot, but I'm also good for you. Thank you, but I'm also you're
- 59:14brave. I'm.
- 59:15So strong. It's just no, it just makes my
- 59:18life easy. I'm trying it just I'm trying
- 59:20for me it makes my life. It's more about making my life
- 59:23easier because I it's one less thing I have to worry about.
- 59:26It's true because I can easily hyper focus on.
- 59:28Something. Do you make like one thing and a
- 59:30lot of that one thing, or do you make different things?
- 59:33I had the same breakfast and then I had the same lunch and I
- 59:37had the same dinner and then I always I also do 2 snacks and I
- 59:40do that for five days. So my breakfast is the same for
- 59:43five days and. I feel like that's kind of
- 59:45boring. It's really not, but I like,
- 59:48well, The thing is that I don't do boring food for meal prep
- 59:52like I do a lot more like the meals that I would actually
- 59:55enjoy. Like I'm doing a lot of Asian
- 59:57food. I'm doing a lot of Mexican food.
- 1:00:00I for my breakfast, I do make it pretty plain, which is overnight
- 1:00:05oats. I do like to do that just
- 1:00:06because it's so easy and. It's.
- 1:00:08Mobile. Yeah.
- 1:00:08And it's mobile and it makes my life easy, so I'd like to do
- 1:00:11that. But like, my lunch and my dinner
- 1:00:13definitely have to be Asian food or Mexican food.
- 1:00:16That's typically typically my favorite.
- 1:00:18Stuff. That's a good tip, yeah, Because
- 1:00:19I feel like I've meal prepped before and it's like basic
- 1:00:23boring shit. No, Yeah.
- 1:00:24And it's like I. Don't want to eat this right
- 1:00:25now, let alone in five days. You know, and well, when I was
- 1:00:29in college, one of my really good friends put me on to meal
- 1:00:32prepping in terms of put me on as in like she used to get on to
- 1:00:35me about like I'm. Just trying to get healthier.
- 1:00:37You know, get healthier. She used to get on to me about
- 1:00:39getting healthier. Yeah.
- 1:00:40Yeah, exactly. And she would be like, I'm not
- 1:00:43such a. It takes years, bro.
- 1:00:46I hate it here like that. Hate it here.
- 1:00:51Just another thing to complain about.
- 1:00:52Like guys usually I'm more upbeat.
- 1:00:58You're like, Are you sure the meds are working?
- 1:01:01Who's your doctor? I'm telling you, I'm just
- 1:01:05feeling the feelings. That's.
- 1:01:07What life is it's feelings and. And stuff.
- 1:01:11But anyways, no, I used to there was a time that like I would
- 1:01:14always do salmon and I, I fucking hate salmon now.
- 1:01:16Like I can do salmon for a minute but like I just got burnt
- 1:01:19out on it. And it's like leftover salmon.
- 1:01:22Yes it's disgusting and just fish too for a while anyway.
- 1:01:27So now like all my meal preps are food that I want to eat, but
- 1:01:30I adjust the macros and I, I've recently got myself a fitness
- 1:01:35person who does it for me. So every six weeks she makes my
- 1:01:38whole recipes. Yeah.
- 1:01:39And I and she's always asking me what do I want?
- 1:01:41And I'm always like, and I send her like Instagrams a lot in tik
- 1:01:44toks and I'm just like, I want this food.
- 1:01:47And, or sometimes like if I want a very traditional Mexican dish,
- 1:01:50I tell her this is what typically I need to make it.
- 1:01:54And so she manages all my macros and I just follow it.
- 1:01:58That's awesome. So that's that's the only reason
- 1:02:01that's trying to help work for me, I mean.
- 1:02:03It's hard having a food account and like, not well, the thing.
- 1:02:06Is, you know, Yeah. The thing is that everything is
- 1:02:09good in moderation. Anything, anything is bad in
- 1:02:12excess. Even water is bad in excess.
- 1:02:14We should not be drinking too much water.
- 1:02:16Our liver's going to fuck up. We're going to drain our liver,
- 1:02:19and it's not going to be able to process stuff for us.
- 1:02:21And once your liver dies, you die.
- 1:02:23And don't ask me why. I know that.
- 1:02:24Because life sucks. Kidding.
- 1:02:27Wow. I need to.
- 1:02:28Stop. I mean, moderation is
- 1:02:31everything. Yeah.
- 1:02:32So you know, I went on a tangent and.
- 1:02:35I feel you. We're.
- 1:02:39Going to have to scrap a lot of this shit, yes, so I know.
- 1:02:48And so anyways, what I'm trying to say by that is like, you can
- 1:02:52still have pupusas, you can still have your good food, you
- 1:02:55can still have the malaise, you can still have gorditas, you can
- 1:02:58still have all of this stuff. You just need to adjust it to
- 1:03:01fit you. And yeah, you know, some people
- 1:03:04do have gluten intolerances or what have you, but or anything
- 1:03:08else. And I bring up gluten because
- 1:03:11it's it's really hard to find or even soy or whatever, but things
- 1:03:18are just relative. Everything's relative as long as
- 1:03:20you're also doing things. I've already lost I I've gained
- 1:03:23a lot of like over the last few years and it's like I lost 30
- 1:03:29lbs but man, I'm trying to lose like another 20 but like 20
- 1:03:32doesn't sound that hard. You think?
- 1:03:35That's a lot of weight. It is a lot of weight.
- 1:03:36I was trying to, I didn't have a number in mind because I didn't
- 1:03:40want to think of it in that sense.
- 1:03:42But like I, I was trying to lose like an area of my body where I
- 1:03:49had a lot stored a lot of body fat in my stomach.
- 1:03:52And I mean, really, I've only since I started this last
- 1:03:57August, more of a slow cut. And I'm finally switched to a
- 1:04:02just to I forgot the word because I'm high.
- 1:04:05But I need to stop doing this for the podcast too.
- 1:04:09I have a life, you guys. I really don't do bad things, I
- 1:04:13promise. Lies, lies.
- 1:04:19And I'm just vulnerable and authentic, right?
- 1:04:23Because that's what you're supposed to do over here.
- 1:04:24We're. So authentic.
- 1:04:25Right now we're so authentic. Oh my God, we're so aura.
- 1:04:29The aura is coming. The aura is.
- 1:04:30So real right now. Ong on God.
- 1:04:34OK, I'm done. I'm done.
- 1:04:36I can't fit in with these people.
- 1:04:38I mean, what do the kids say? They say I'm God a lot and
- 1:04:43that's all I know. If I I say these things to my
- 1:04:45nephews and they make they make fun of me every time.
- 1:04:48One of my nephews is 13 right now.
- 1:04:50He's about to be 14, I think. And he's always just like, oh
- 1:04:53God, I was trying to say the Skippity, the Skippity, whatever
- 1:04:57thing, see. I'm not.
- 1:04:59Even Skippity toilet, something I don't know but there was I'm.
- 1:05:02Not even cool enough to. Know I found out pretty recently
- 1:05:04anyways, food. Hell yeah food.
- 1:05:09It doesn't. I mean, yeah, like as long as
- 1:05:12like you just adjust. Oh I was trying to say like I
- 1:05:15think I've lost 8 lbs total. It's a lot.
- 1:05:19But it's not over. It's open over.
- 1:05:21Not overweight, yeah, but it's been over a long period, like 12
- 1:05:26months. That's awesome though.
- 1:05:28But that's what I'm saying. It's so small, small incremental
- 1:05:32change. Yeah, and but also like because
- 1:05:35she would make me do before and after pics or should it make me
- 1:05:38do pics every week? Oh, that's real.
- 1:05:41Yeah, and you see the difference?
- 1:05:44Oh yeah. Pictures.
- 1:05:45Oh yeah, Like I have fun. I.
- 1:05:46Don't want to take a picture of myself.
- 1:05:48I like hated that first picture, but it's like you see change in
- 1:05:51yourself that maybe the scale doesn't show immediately.
- 1:05:54Oh, 100. Percent it's but that's why I'm
- 1:05:56saying like I I've only lost very few pounds the number wise.
- 1:06:00But it looks so significant. It's a huge difference.
- 1:06:03Like my. That's awesome.
- 1:06:04Yeah, it's crazy. And it's like, you know, I had a
- 1:06:08kidney transplant a while back. So I'm just trying to do all the
- 1:06:12things, you know, I'm not trying.
- 1:06:15I don't expect to live to be 100, but at least I'll be a
- 1:06:18healthy. What's your?
- 1:06:20Goal age to live too. Girl, I don't know.
- 1:06:23God'll, God'll determine that. You know, I don't think I don't
- 1:06:27know. I mean, real talk, like I have
- 1:06:30this rare disease and I mean, people don't get that old
- 1:06:34really, you know, And it's like it's kind of complicated because
- 1:06:37like people didn't have medicine like me and me and my sister
- 1:06:42took medicine really when we were really young.
- 1:06:44So we have a chance at being old, if that makes sense.
- 1:06:47Good job. But there's just, you know, I
- 1:06:51mean, I just feel like you never know.
- 1:06:53And like, if God wants to take you out, he will, you know, and
- 1:06:56it's like we can go in a car accident later today and, you
- 1:07:01know, you have in the, in your mind what you're going to die
- 1:07:03of, you know? But it's like, who fucking
- 1:07:06knows, man? Life is crazy.
- 1:07:08So yeah, I don't know. I feel like once you realize
- 1:07:11that it's such a freak thing though, is it not?
- 1:07:15Like as soon as you realize that like.
- 1:07:18Once you're free of expectation, I think, yeah, I think that's
- 1:07:21really freeing. It's.
- 1:07:22So freeing. You know, but I don't know, I
- 1:07:25mean, it's kind of a scary thing to know that I probably won't be
- 1:07:28like super fucking old. But that but what I'm saying
- 1:07:32though, at the same time, I think like it makes you want to
- 1:07:34live life to the fullest. That's what I'm saying.
- 1:07:37It's like, it's such a freeing thing because like you.
- 1:07:39Realize what's important. Yes.
- 1:07:41And you really work on it. Like you're cultivating it.
- 1:07:43Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:07:45And you're just not afraid to give in.
- 1:07:46Whatever you're cultivating it. You might be afraid in other
- 1:07:49things. Like again, we're human and
- 1:07:51we're. But like man, some of my things,
- 1:07:53good friends that had my disease like already passed.
- 1:07:56Oh shit, I'm so sorry. I mean, I know a lot of people
- 1:08:00that have my disease that are healthy and I mean, but healthy
- 1:08:03means something different, you know what I mean?
- 1:08:04It's like they take a lot of medicine and they've had kidney
- 1:08:07transplants and like they're doing well, all things
- 1:08:10considering. But I don't know, it gives you a
- 1:08:13different perspective. I think when you have a health
- 1:08:15issue, you know, you think you see things a little differently.
- 1:08:19Yeah, you know, but. What are a couple of the things
- 1:08:22that you'd say? I, I don't know, I think you can
- 1:08:24like just slice through bullshit easier when you have something
- 1:08:27wrong with you, you know, cuz it's like, see people put all
- 1:08:30these this pressure on themselves to have like
- 1:08:33superficial goals by a certain time or like settle down.
- 1:08:37And it's like, what does that even mean?
- 1:08:39You know, and it's like, I don't know, you kind of realize what
- 1:08:44matters maybe and. What would you say matters to
- 1:08:47you? I don't know, just authenticity,
- 1:08:52having that like relationship with people, like that real
- 1:08:54relationship where you're talking to people, you're
- 1:08:56getting to know people, you know, I, I'm kind of an
- 1:08:59introvert in some ways, but it's like I really like connecting
- 1:09:02with people. That's why I like social media.
- 1:09:05You know, you're helping people with their business and super
- 1:09:08social media seems so superficial sometimes, but it's
- 1:09:11like it's truly helping someone, you know?
- 1:09:16So yeah, I don't. Know, yeah, 'cause you're,
- 1:09:17you're doing it from a connection lens, yeah.
- 1:09:21Where I mean there is a superficial side because it, it
- 1:09:25is pictures or it's videos or whatever and it is a look into
- 1:09:28your life or a part of your life which feels very vulnerable,
- 1:09:33whatever it might be. I mean, like still like if you
- 1:09:35own a business or if you're whatever it is that you're
- 1:09:37promoting, it's vulnerable. Yeah, like some person who tells
- 1:09:41you it's nice, like you're putting out things that you're
- 1:09:43you don't feel is perfect and people are already feeling so
- 1:09:47insecure or so or feeling whatever about that perfection.
- 1:09:51And I mean, I've shared a lot on my account with time, you know,
- 1:09:54I'm trying to be a little more open and like not talk about
- 1:09:57just food, you know, cuz there's a story behind all of us and
- 1:10:01maybe showcasing like restaurant owner story too.
- 1:10:04You know, like I made a post I'm really wanting to focus on like
- 1:10:07immigrant owned cuz I feel like Wichita is such a cool
- 1:10:11immigrant. Like it is exact place.
- 1:10:14It is and it's not cuz you have to go find it.
- 1:10:16So again, back to your point that you made earlier on the
- 1:10:19show about like how people now go and look for food online,
- 1:10:23you're not really you're unless you see a video, unless you see
- 1:10:27some pictures, it's really hard to know what you're going to get
- 1:10:31or you're going to go and kind of look it up ahead of time.
- 1:10:34So I do agree with that. So like one good thing about you
- 1:10:36doing that is like especially the immigrant owned restaurants,
- 1:10:39I mean, they're going to be more in outskirts.
- 1:10:42You're not going to be in outskirts as in like certain
- 1:10:45ends of the town that you probably don't.
- 1:10:47I say all the time the South Side is like the best food, you
- 1:10:50know, And it's like people are very scared of the South Side.
- 1:10:53Yeah. You know, I live on the South
- 1:10:55Side. I don't think it's that bad.
- 1:10:56But, you know, there's probably a lot of like, you know, racial
- 1:11:04element, You know, if people don't see themselves in that
- 1:11:07area, they might not feel safe, which is sad.
- 1:11:11It's really sad, you know, But it's a very mixed neighborhood.
- 1:11:16And I, I feel like I see a lot of Mexicans, blacks, whites in
- 1:11:19my area, you know, but maybe that's threatening to some
- 1:11:23people. You know, I live South side too
- 1:11:26or like just not super S but like literally barely.
- 1:11:30But I love that. Yeah, humbles you.
- 1:11:33We have good food. Man, yeah.
- 1:11:35And it humbles you. I mean, I live southeast side,
- 1:11:37but still, yeah, like not just straight down the middle, but
- 1:11:41yeah, like I would say I don't know, like, yeah, I I like
- 1:11:45seeing different. People, it keeps you real, you
- 1:11:47know what I mean? It keeps you real.
- 1:11:49Keeps it real, and I mean truly some good food, you know?
- 1:11:54I was just taking a look at, I've been scrolling through your
- 1:11:58Instagram here and when you said Southside, I just happened to be
- 1:12:02looking at this picture of egg rolls and sweet sour chicken
- 1:12:04from Egg Roll Express. I love.
- 1:12:06Egg Roll Express. They're so good.
- 1:12:08They are good. See, but like even that name is
- 1:12:10basic, I wouldn't think to go there.
- 1:12:13Like World Express, you know. Yeah.
- 1:12:15Yeah, and they, I don't think they even have like a social
- 1:12:17media really. Not really.
- 1:12:19It's more just like, hey, we're open, we're not open and.
- 1:12:22My favorite place is. Like Chiang Mai.
- 1:12:24Have you ever been to Chiang Mai?
- 1:12:25I love Chiang Mai, it's so good. I don't.
- 1:12:28Think I've been to Chiang Mai I. Love.
- 1:12:29I just, I'm obsessed with Thailand in general.
- 1:12:32I went once and I'm like, I wanna go back.
- 1:12:34Really. When'd you go?
- 1:12:35I went like 7 years ago, it was my first, a solo trip outside
- 1:12:40the country and so it was really fun.
- 1:12:42It was just me. I got a good deal so it was like
- 1:12:45$600.00 or some crazy shit. I love that.
- 1:12:48Yeah, the round trip flight is yeah.
- 1:12:50Damn, I know I had to. How?
- 1:12:52Far in advance, did you book that flight?
- 1:12:54Quite a bit like 5 months or something.
- 1:12:57That's not bad though. Not too bad.
- 1:13:00I I like was following this guy. His name was Scott Key's Flight,
- 1:13:05Cheap flights, and he would send out like flight errors and they
- 1:13:09don't do it as much as anymore, but people would just make
- 1:13:11mistakes. And you can book that price and
- 1:13:14probably get redeemed for that. So that's what I did and it was
- 1:13:18really fun. I feel like I learned a lot just
- 1:13:22how to be on your own a little bit in a different country.
- 1:13:25How long were you there for? There are probably like two 2
- 1:13:281/2 weeks. That's that's still a really
- 1:13:30long time yeah and especially when you don't know the language
- 1:13:33cuz it's not like it's majority English I.
- 1:13:35Mean a lot of it, was it? Was OK, yeah, like I went a
- 1:13:37tourist. I went.
- 1:13:38To a lot of tourist spots. I went to some that were remote,
- 1:13:41but even they knew some English a little bit.
- 1:13:44Cuz that yeah, OK, a little bit to like enough to get enough to
- 1:13:48like understanding. Yeah, cuz Thailand is a big
- 1:13:52tourist country so yeah OK, OK. A lot of their main part of
- 1:13:56making money is through the tourist industry, so.
- 1:13:59But Southeast? Asia is coming in.
- 1:14:02I've been wanting to go to Thailand.
- 1:14:03English is. I wanna go to all of Southeast
- 1:14:05Asia. Honestly, I don't care about
- 1:14:07Europe at all. I wanna go to Vu.
- 1:14:09I wanna go to Laos. Like I wanna go to back to
- 1:14:14Thailand, like all the places you know.
- 1:14:16Yeah, yeah, yeah. I mean, what I like or where I
- 1:14:19want to do Europe for sure like that I don't want to miss out on
- 1:14:24is definitely Greece, just mostly because of the history in
- 1:14:28Rome too, so there. Used to be a lot of places I
- 1:14:31would I would enjoy, but like, maybe it's just not the first
- 1:14:33time I. Lived yeah that's what I'm
- 1:14:35saying too like it's not like if I but if I prioritize other
- 1:14:39countries like I I want to go to Thailand too I really want to I
- 1:14:43know it's not southeast because or is it so yes like I really
- 1:14:46want to go to Japan. I really want to go to Korea
- 1:14:49too. And yeah, like I'd love to go to
- 1:14:55Laos, but yeah, I don't know. Thailand's been calling too.
- 1:14:59Thailand's been calling. It's.
- 1:15:00Beautiful. Yeah, Ireland.
- 1:15:02I'd like to go to Ireland. What's over in Europe?
- 1:15:04Like that's what I'm thinking of or like.
- 1:15:07There's so many places, you know, yeah.
- 1:15:08Sometimes I really just kind of go like in this amount of time I
- 1:15:13wanna travel what is cheap and then I'm like.
- 1:15:15Cool. That's what I'm I go on Google
- 1:15:17Flight. It's like all the time I do for
- 1:15:18like not having a lot of money right now I'm just like, I do
- 1:15:21too. I go on Google Flight.
- 1:15:22It's like. I said I wasn't leaving anymore,
- 1:15:25I already booked a flight but also I'm sad so that's why I
- 1:15:29did. That I mean, I get that.
- 1:15:30You know. Retail therapy.
- 1:15:32But yeah, I feel like, you know, travel's important.
- 1:15:35It is. It keeps you humble.
- 1:15:36You know, my family didn't really travel too much when I
- 1:15:38was younger, and so I think it was just like exciting to be
- 1:15:41able to have that opportunity. You know, I Daydream about,
- 1:15:45like, quitting my job and just like, moving to Thailand.
- 1:15:49But then I realized, like, it's actually very hard to become a
- 1:15:52citizen. Oh, it is.
- 1:15:53Yeah, if you have health issues at all.
- 1:15:55Like they really don't fuck around with you.
- 1:15:58Oh, you want the population of VLA?
- 1:16:01They're. Like we all want to one kidney
- 1:16:04man like go home. So I mean, I think my best bet
- 1:16:07is to find a Thai man. So if you know a Thai man who
- 1:16:12like has. Citizenship.
- 1:16:13Have you? We don't, we don't know any Thai
- 1:16:16men do or I don't that I know from you, right.
- 1:16:18I have family in Thailand. OK, but I don't know any.
- 1:16:21From brother, I'm just kidding. No.
- 1:16:23OK. I was going to say, I'm like, I
- 1:16:25don't think any of them are Thai.
- 1:16:26Have you seen the show The White Lotus?
- 1:16:29Yeah, that Thailand travel has gone up since that show Which?
- 1:16:34Is that's why that's exactly what you're trying to do is be
- 1:16:38season 3 that Lady that it was gonna open her business, but
- 1:16:44then the old lady ran or the old lady something happened to her.
- 1:16:47So then she tried to open it with that Thai guy.
- 1:16:50Oh shit I haven't seen that show but I've like, I'm aware.
- 1:16:53Of it, check it out. Check out season 3 because
- 1:16:54they're in Thailand. Season 1 and 2, they're in
- 1:16:57different like Season 1, they're in like Hawaii.
- 1:16:59I love how they're in like a. Season 2, I think, beautiful
- 1:17:02resort. I think they're in like Greece
- 1:17:04or somewhere. That's like fancy, but it's
- 1:17:06like, you shouldn't go to Thailand for a fancy resort, you
- 1:17:08know? Well, if it's in the jungle,
- 1:17:12what's the difference? Should go for the experience,
- 1:17:14you know, like not the I don't know, I don't really do.
- 1:17:17Resort I don't do the resort the real experience I.
- 1:17:19Mean, first of all, that's expensive.
- 1:17:20Sleeping on the one pad on the floor.
- 1:17:24I don't know what like I want it.
- 1:17:26I want it balance. I love that real.
- 1:17:27One and see This is why I fuck with like first Gen. people or
- 1:17:31fresh off the boat people because like they get it.
- 1:17:34I don't gotta explain this shit and.
- 1:17:36Hang when? Someone says that about Mexico
- 1:17:38too. Over your floor pad so the bugs
- 1:17:41don't get at you while you're sleeping.
- 1:17:43Yeah. You're gonna squat.
- 1:17:45Keep. Going I love this.
- 1:17:46Keep going. Dump, yeah.
- 1:17:48I don't know about that Airbnb, but.
- 1:17:50Manually flush your turn down the toilet with the water, Yes.
- 1:17:54Well, Basin, it was an adjustment when I went.
- 1:17:58To town, no AC. The lack of toilets, it's just a
- 1:18:05lot of squatting. It's better now.
- 1:18:08I went to some remote places and it was like, good luck.
- 1:18:10Yeah, don't have IBS, not a lot of IBS people going to Thailand.
- 1:18:17That's what I'm saying, yeah. Yeah.
- 1:18:18Yeah, but I don't, I don't have IBS, by the way.
- 1:18:22Plus you I. In case you were still
- 1:18:27interested in dating me and you haven't weeded yourself out.
- 1:18:33Yet only when you have hot sauce.
- 1:18:40The shit that we get into on here or something you.
- 1:18:42Know. So so impressed by this stuff.
- 1:18:49Yeah, Thailand's amazing. I wanna go back.
- 1:18:52We're gonna get it together. It was a beautiful.
- 1:18:54Dude, not a lot of places, mainly in the US.
- 1:18:56Yeah, You know, I wanna go back to Austin.
- 1:19:01I'm going back to Austin for my birthday in December, which I'm
- 1:19:04excited about. I haven't.
- 1:19:06I've gone back once in the last five years, so that'll be fun,
- 1:19:11but that's not really exotic. Yeah, it's actually very basic
- 1:19:14for. Like like for what you're?
- 1:19:18Like dude, kids are very basic. I mean.
- 1:19:21Not, you know, that's where I'm going.
- 1:19:22Allison is pretty basic. I'm going, I'm thinking about, I
- 1:19:24want, I really want to go there for a month for what?
- 1:19:27Just to like, live, you know? In this Austin.
- 1:19:30I do, I miss it a lot. But again, so you so OK, this is
- 1:19:35for me. Like I'd, I'd like the, I know
- 1:19:38that everyone hates on Wichita, but I do like that I can afford
- 1:19:42to live here and I can afford to travel to out of the country, I
- 1:19:47mean. I think it's it was on the list
- 1:19:49last week of like the most affordable city.
- 1:19:50Yeah, so like even though it's in the middle and yeah, like my
- 1:19:53flights are still not the best, I'm still not in New York.
- 1:19:56Like I have a lot of a good friend who's in New York, shout
- 1:19:59out to Jebby. And he's like, yeah, I can get
- 1:20:02round trip flights, like direct flights to a lot of countries,
- 1:20:05but like he is holding down. Yeah.
- 1:20:08Exactly. Holding down hella jobs.
- 1:20:11So it's like. With a balance.
- 1:20:12It's hard. So it's like versus like I'm in
- 1:20:14Wichita and I I can, yeah, I mean, my flights might not be
- 1:20:19the best prices and I do have to connect a lot, but I can go
- 1:20:25still spend more on the experience and I still have
- 1:20:28enough money to actually cover yeah, when I come back home.
- 1:20:32I feel like we save enough money that we are able to travel.
- 1:20:34And you know, if you live in New York City, you probably aren't
- 1:20:37even able to travel even though you have really good tickets.
- 1:20:41So I mean, it's a balance. I feel like I really like
- 1:20:43Wichita, you know, I think it's, it offers a lot.
- 1:20:46I mean, there's a lot of events going on.
- 1:20:48Yeah, right now it's like finally booming up.
- 1:20:50Like what first attracted me to Wichita.
- 1:20:52Like it was like, and I've said this multiple times, but like I
- 1:20:55think like before 20/20 it was, it was booming quite a bit.
- 1:20:58Like there was a lot of businesses that were constantly
- 1:21:00opening that people were gravitating to go and support
- 1:21:03these businesses pretty often. And then I'd say like 2018, it
- 1:21:08starts to die down and not even before 2020, like 2018, like
- 1:21:12people are just not supporting people anymore.
- 1:21:14And then now I feel like it's booming or not booming, but it's
- 1:21:18getting there. You know what I mean?
- 1:21:19Like there's kind of people who are maybe just not as afraid to
- 1:21:22go and do these things. I feel like there's resurgence
- 1:21:24for entrepreneurship and there's a lot of like women business
- 1:21:27owners that are out there now, which is cool to see.
- 1:21:30I feel like there's a lot more women business owners than there
- 1:21:32was when I was here like 10 years ago or something.
- 1:21:37And I feel like Wichita's a great place if you are an
- 1:21:39entrepreneur. They have a lot of great
- 1:21:40resources. They do, yeah.
- 1:21:42You know, I agree with that. And a lot of free like.
- 1:21:45Free resources for entrepreneurship, which is so
- 1:21:48hard in a big city. Like, I think like a lot of
- 1:21:51people don't recognize how much opportunity they have here and
- 1:21:55you're just not tapping into it because, yeah, there's.
- 1:21:57So much there really is a. Lot like at the library alone,
- 1:22:00just like all the free resources that they have, like when we're
- 1:22:03talking about all the nonprofits that are here too that like are
- 1:22:07just providing these free, like it's like y'all kind, I don't
- 1:22:13want to say this, but for some of the people who have the
- 1:22:15means, you're struggling because you want to struggle because
- 1:22:18there's a lot of good. Resources.
- 1:22:19I think it's all about connecting here and it can be a
- 1:22:22little clicky. I think you got it is clicky.
- 1:22:24Yeah. It takes a while to navigate it
- 1:22:26because you kind of got to know people.
- 1:22:28And if you're new to Wichita, it's hard to know people, that's
- 1:22:31true. But there's a lot of really
- 1:22:32friendly people here, you know? When you find them.
- 1:22:35When Yeah. And it's like, you know, we get
- 1:22:37out. Yeah.
- 1:22:38You know, and like that's with anything, you have to just be
- 1:22:40open to it too. You have to just, I think like
- 1:22:43to your point, I've always kind of been very talkative.
- 1:22:46I've always been very easy to make friends with.
- 1:22:50And then I didn't for a little bit, but then also I was just
- 1:22:53really entrepreneurship and like, and, you know, networking
- 1:22:57is a skill set. Even if you're an introvert,
- 1:22:59like you can learn to network, you can learn what this means.
- 1:23:02You know, the social cues, you know, when somebody is sitting a
- 1:23:06certain way, when they're not, you know, even just the non
- 1:23:09physical cues where you're just like, I'm or the, yeah, the
- 1:23:12physical cues where I'm like, am I making this person feel safer?
- 1:23:15Am I not? Like, there's a lot that you can
- 1:23:17analyze about all this. Stuff and you know, it's not
- 1:23:19natural for some people to pick that up, like a lot of people
- 1:23:21don't. So if I think if you do well
- 1:23:23with that, like that's a skill. But it's a learning skill is
- 1:23:26what I'm saying. Like, I mean, there's an aspect
- 1:23:27to that. Yeah, cuz like I, I.
- 1:23:29Met a lot of very weird people too, you know what I mean?
- 1:23:32Like some people I'm just like, like, have you ever had a
- 1:23:36conversation with someone? I don't hate to say it cuz
- 1:23:38there's a lot of charismatic people, but I've been to so many
- 1:23:41networking events too, where it's like, I'll meet somebody
- 1:23:43and like, they don't even hear me.
- 1:23:45Like all they're doing is talking about themselves.
- 1:23:47Yeah, yeah, yeah. And I hate to say it's always
- 1:23:49men, but usually it's men. That makes sense, you know, No.
- 1:23:52So I feel like if it's. Definitely one that happens on a
- 1:23:55date. Dude I'm I'm at the point where
- 1:23:59on a date. That's bad if they don't ask you
- 1:24:01any questions. I mean they do in a little bit,
- 1:24:03but not that much. But like in a date, I'm just at
- 1:24:06the point where I'm just like are.
- 1:24:07You are you currently going through it dating?
- 1:24:09No, I'm just trying to say that like if I'm doing a date like
- 1:24:12that, like I will be very much like I'm like, oh man, listen,
- 1:24:20communication and listening is a skill set and I don't want to
- 1:24:25teach you it. Like, I'm not going to teach you
- 1:24:27it, I feel like. It's hard, like on a date, you
- 1:24:31know, you want to have, I don't know.
- 1:24:33I feel like I have really good conversations with people and
- 1:24:35then I meet them in real life. And it's not like they don't
- 1:24:37have that candor or that sense of humor, you know?
- 1:24:41And it's like, you know, immediately if you don't fit in
- 1:24:43someone's sense of humor, they don't get you.
- 1:24:46Yeah, I feel like that's hard. Like, that's hard to find
- 1:24:48somebody who's like, you can joke with that you have the same
- 1:24:52kind of brand of, like humor, you know?
- 1:24:54That's true. Yeah.
- 1:24:56And I think guys, like, that's part of dating too.
- 1:24:58Like, there's a lot of times where, like, some people will be
- 1:25:01like, you are too, whatever, because of that.
- 1:25:05Oh, yeah. You know, like, too stoic or too
- 1:25:07sarcastic or too blunt, too candy.
- 1:25:10Yeah. Too bossy or too funny or not
- 1:25:13serious, too serious, whatever. But but to my to what I'm trying
- 1:25:18to say is like, yeah, I think like that's true even with
- 1:25:21friendships. But I guess like, I don't know,
- 1:25:25I feel like I've met really good people though.
- 1:25:27Like I like it's very few times that I remember and maybe it's
- 1:25:31just because I'm not remembering or I'm not paying attention to
- 1:25:33or caring to remember the fact that like I've met maybe a few
- 1:25:38people who are not, who don't get you, I guess like it's just
- 1:25:42at this point where you're like, I don't really care and.
- 1:25:44I feel like you weed them out with time.
- 1:25:46Yeah. You know, I feel like I'm one of
- 1:25:48those people that it's like you either kind of like me or you
- 1:25:49don't. Yeah.
- 1:25:50You know, and that's OK. Yeah.
- 1:25:52I think it weeds people out quicker when you have that kind
- 1:25:55of personality a little bit, you know?
- 1:25:56Yeah, because why? Why do you want to keep
- 1:25:58explaining yourself? Yeah.
- 1:26:00Because it's just been hard and draining.
- 1:26:03Yeah, on both ends, you know. Because you're like, I'm not
- 1:26:06trying to do this, but OK. You know you'll have you'll find
- 1:26:12your tribe. Yes.
- 1:26:14You know, yeah, I had a funny. Little story I have.
- 1:26:18I have tribes. We're telling it to the people,
- 1:26:21right? I have the tribes.
- 1:26:22OK, You'll find your tribes, guys.
- 1:26:25Looking at the cameras. I love my tribes.
- 1:26:27I have, I have my little tribe, you know, like we chill.
- 1:26:30Yeah, I love my tribe, you know? Yeah.
- 1:26:32Yeah. But I don't know.
- 1:26:35I don't know where I was going with.
- 1:26:36That you were going to tell a story.
- 1:26:38I was just like, you know, you'll find your tribe And I was
- 1:26:40like, there's just some people that you don't vibe with.
- 1:26:43Somebody invited me to Zubilee, which was awesome and was really
- 1:26:46nice. And I they picked me up and
- 1:26:48like, they're like, it's, it was a long thing, but they're like
- 1:26:52your neighbor smells like weed. And I was like, no, that was me.
- 1:26:55And then, and I should have said that and I didn't realize that,
- 1:27:00but when I got in the car, there was like a Jesus thing, which is
- 1:27:02great. I love Jesus.
- 1:27:04I love that guy. But I probably wouldn't have
- 1:27:07said I was high if I saw the Jesus thing.
- 1:27:09That would have been a context clue.
- 1:27:11And so you just especially. Especially in Republic, KS.
- 1:27:15Oh yeah, conservative Kansas. That's a good point.
- 1:27:19Like if you were to say this in a different and if you were to
- 1:27:22say that in Austin, that'd be it hit different.
- 1:27:25Yeah. And then somebody came in.
- 1:27:26It was her friend who came in the car and she was complaining
- 1:27:29about a guy she was dating who like, I was a loser and smoked
- 1:27:33weed and I was like, oh, what a loser.
- 1:27:38I played along at that point, you know?
- 1:27:40And I was like, what a fucking loser.
- 1:27:43Who does that? I, I, I get it though, 'cause I
- 1:27:45think you, you go through the experience where you date
- 1:27:48somebody who was like that, as someone who doesn't try, who
- 1:27:51didn't try this until later on in my life.
- 1:27:53Dude, better to date a pothead than an alcoholic.
- 1:27:56I've dated both. I prefer.
- 1:28:00The one that one transition pretty bad, so both in one
- 1:28:05person. In that's bad.
- 1:28:07Just different people. Good for you.
- 1:28:09Thank you on a bingo card, you know?
- 1:28:14But like, at least if you date a pothead and it doesn't work out,
- 1:28:17you'll never see them again because they don't leave their
- 1:28:20house, right? But like, if you date an
- 1:28:21alcoholic, they're everywhere. They're going to be at every
- 1:28:24club, every bar. That's fair.
- 1:28:27So think about that next time. I'm not thinking about myself.
- 1:28:32Am I an alcoholic, you guys? I'm not an alcoholic.
- 1:28:35Like if you don't wake up and drink.
- 1:28:37No, you're good. OK.
- 1:28:39What makes you a pothead if you're smoking every day?
- 1:28:41Do you smoke every? Day.
- 1:28:42Oh yeah, I think a pothead is like you can't function without
- 1:28:45it. And can you function without it?
- 1:28:48I don't want to, but I could. I have before.
- 1:28:54I've gone a long time without weed before.
- 1:28:56Yeah, just for fun. Like like I have done.
- 1:28:58That when we say a long time, we're talking months.
- 1:29:00We're not talking about like, like I'm not going to get high
- 1:29:05every day. I'm only going to get.
- 1:29:06High, I mean I gotta get a drug test for my job, so I had to
- 1:29:09like, you know, true and hopefully it don't fire me.
- 1:29:14That'd be funny. Honestly, like I can't even
- 1:29:17imagine library people listening to this podcast.
- 1:29:19Nothing against this podcast, but like where?
- 1:29:21How are they going to? How are they going to find me?
- 1:29:24Social media. I, I don't, yeah, I don't know
- 1:29:27if all of them follow me, but fair in my head, I'm like, like
- 1:29:30in my library job, like nobody sees me as a food person.
- 1:29:33But like, they probably follow. Yeah, I don't know.
- 1:29:35No, I totally hear that. We usually do this thing called
- 1:29:39lightning round, which I think is what we're gonna do, which
- 1:29:41we're gonna do very short, OK, because we're gonna wrap up
- 1:29:45pretty soon. Man, I have a lot of good things
- 1:29:49in this. So like, no, I had really good
- 1:29:52things in what I wanted to go with that.
- 1:29:54I wanted to continue that conversation.
- 1:29:57But I also want to be mindful that we need to eat because
- 1:30:00we're talking to a food person. We have to get some food in
- 1:30:03here. But yeah, so in lightning round,
- 1:30:07we're just like going to ask a bunch of random questions.
- 1:30:09We are probably going to keep it pretty minimum.
- 1:30:12And you just kind of off the cuff whatever comes to you.
- 1:30:15So you were saying you're both on Instagram and TikTok.
- 1:30:18So Reels are Tik Toks, which is which is winning for you right
- 1:30:22now? What's better for you?
- 1:30:23Reels. Reels so you're talking content
- 1:30:26creation but TikTok is more just like or like that's the reason
- 1:30:30you're saying reels or why are you saying reels?
- 1:30:32Sorry, I assumed. Probably because I'm on
- 1:30:34Instagram or low key. I have a burner account on
- 1:30:37TikTok that's doing kind of well.
- 1:30:39So if you're on TikTok, I think it does well.
- 1:30:41Yeah, I'm just not on it. Like I don't post it.
- 1:30:43I'm on it a lot but I don't post on my TikTok.
- 1:30:46Yeah, yeah. Go ahead, Dusty, your term.
- 1:30:54What is 1 social media myth you're tired of hearing, if any?
- 1:31:04The more you post the. I think the more.
- 1:31:09Followers you have. The more followers you have,
- 1:31:12like the more successful you are, you know, And there's so
- 1:31:15many dormant accounts that have a lot of followers, but like
- 1:31:19nobody's like liking their stuff and commenting on their stuff.
- 1:31:22They get very good likes. They hide their likes.
- 1:31:24Yeah, I have a question about that.
- 1:31:26Yeah, it doesn't work to hide your likes or what do you mean?
- 1:31:30Work. I guess like work in terms of
- 1:31:33like, do you feel like you get more engagement when you hide
- 1:31:35the like count? I don't just keep that.
- 1:31:39I I, I don't think it matters, yeah.
- 1:31:42Yeah, cuz me personally, when I'm scrolling by like I notice
- 1:31:46if they have that feature on or not like you know, to hide the
- 1:31:50likes and I don't care. If it's good content that I
- 1:31:53like, then I'm gonna hit like on it.
- 1:31:54If not then I don't. I just keep scrolling.
- 1:31:57It doesn't really matter to me, yeah.
- 1:31:59And it's like, you probably see a lot of the comments still,
- 1:32:01even though it says there's not a lot of likes, which indicates
- 1:32:04like it's doing well subconsciously, maybe.
- 1:32:06Yeah, I don't know. I don't know.
- 1:32:10From a social or from a marketer?
- 1:32:12I'm surprised you didn't know that.
- 1:32:14What works better? What's your top algorithm hack
- 1:32:18that people underestimate? If you know 1.
- 1:32:21I mean, I think just people don't utilize the stories, you
- 1:32:25know, because it's like only a fraction of the people will see
- 1:32:28your news feed, but like more than likely they're probably
- 1:32:31going to see your story, even if it's very passive and they're
- 1:32:34just like going like this. So you have a better shot in
- 1:32:37your story. And I, I see people put a lot of
- 1:32:39effort into their post feed, which makes sense.
- 1:32:43But like, chances are less than 5% of people are going to see
- 1:32:46that, you know, So if you engage with them ahead of time in this
- 1:32:49story, that helps, you know. And so in the stories that where
- 1:32:53you're thinking it can be more of the low level content that's
- 1:32:56on TikTok, but then your feed that's maybe more of your high
- 1:33:00level production stuff. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:33:02I think like the stories are more behind the scenes, you
- 1:33:05know, like sometimes I'm like, I don't know if this is ready for
- 1:33:08a post in my feed, but like, this is for sure going to be a
- 1:33:11story. Yeah.
- 1:33:12And like stories, people don't think about it that seriously,
- 1:33:15you know? So it's like more culture, like
- 1:33:17behind the scenes kind of stuff like that.
- 1:33:20That's a good one. Hashtags in stories, Do they
- 1:33:23work or do they not? So hashtags kind of don't work
- 1:33:25in general anymore like they used to in Stories.
- 1:33:28It's really not worth putting like the effort to put it in
- 1:33:31because you don't see it. I think it's OK to put it in the
- 1:33:35caption, but keywords are more important than anything.
- 1:33:39So just make sure like think about the keyword that's more
- 1:33:41important. Like if someone's going to be
- 1:33:43searching Wichita restaurant, you know, cheap Wichita
- 1:33:46restaurant, put that in the caption.
- 1:33:48You don't necessarily have to put a hashtag.
- 1:33:51It can help, but like, it's not gonna help you like it used to.
- 1:33:54Used to. You can put hashtags and people
- 1:33:56would find you that way. Yeah.
- 1:33:57And it doesn't really work like that anymore.
- 1:33:59Yeah. You know.
- 1:34:01Yeah, these are good tips and I hope you all are writing this
- 1:34:04out. Or maybe this is just me because
- 1:34:05I need the work, or I'm thinking of like, what's working, what's
- 1:34:09not? If, well, I think I already know
- 1:34:13that or whatever. You go ahead and ask Dusty,
- 1:34:16sorry. What's 1 trending challenge or
- 1:34:20meme that you secretly love or hate?
- 1:34:25There's this picture of what's that big guy in Kings of Queens
- 1:34:31and he like, looks like. Yeah, he is Paul Blart.
- 1:34:35Yeah, there's this meme and it's like.
- 1:34:40Yeah, where he's like, shrugging his shoulders with his.
- 1:34:41Hands in his pocket. Yeah.
- 1:34:42I, I used to do like a meme series every few weeks and like,
- 1:34:46it was one of the main meme ones.
- 1:34:47I just love that. Oh.
- 1:34:48I yeah, yeah, yeah. I know what you're.
- 1:34:49Talking about you. Know I know what you're talking
- 1:34:52about. I love that one.
- 1:34:53It's like when you go to a place and they don't have, they don't
- 1:34:55take cash and you're just like, I don't know.
- 1:34:57It was relevant. I do love them, yeah.
- 1:35:01Which local business or creator deserves more love on which?
- 1:35:06That's in Wichita. I think Gabby's Peruvian, yes.
- 1:35:11It's so good. It's like one of my favorite
- 1:35:13restaurants and it's so unique. I think it's I love Peruvian
- 1:35:17food and I go like I try to try Peruvian food wherever I go and
- 1:35:21it's Gabby's I think is one of the best Peruvian foods I've
- 1:35:24ever had. So I think I don't know why
- 1:35:27sometimes I go there and it's just not busy and it makes me so
- 1:35:30sad because they're so good. And Gabby is awesome.
- 1:35:33The owner, she's the sweetest lady.
- 1:35:34I did this KWCH like immigrant owned feature and I got to know
- 1:35:38her and like all the people that work there and they're just
- 1:35:41really sweet. So go go check them out.
- 1:35:46What would you say is your favorite thing to garden?
- 1:35:52What strain, what strand? Whatever.
- 1:35:56Sativas. OK.
- 1:35:58Like OK. Indicas are like, I call them in
- 1:36:02the couch. Yeah, indicas.
- 1:36:04I don't like indicas. They just bring you down, you
- 1:36:06know? How many times a day do you
- 1:36:09check your analytics? I try not to check it every day
- 1:36:14cuz really it's kind of a long term thing.
- 1:36:18I think it's like looking at the stock market every day.
- 1:36:21Like it just freaks you out. Like look at, look at like I try
- 1:36:25to do it every month. Like really look at all my
- 1:36:27posts, especially for my clients.
- 1:36:29I do a monthly report and that it's like a good like bird's eye
- 1:36:33view of like what what best post for the like the last month.
- 1:36:37Don't be super focused on each one because I feel like if you
- 1:36:41do that, it's like it gives you mixed results and like mixed, I
- 1:36:44don't know. So try to think about it in I
- 1:36:47think a longer term and not try to get in the weeds, you know?
- 1:36:54Well, Ashley, we've heard a little bit about you and your
- 1:36:59stories, your passions, your interests.
- 1:37:01Definitely a lot of your stories and interests and passions.
- 1:37:04Actually, we talked about all of it.
- 1:37:07I love, I love when we do this. So tell us and our listeners how
- 1:37:11everyone can find and support you.
- 1:37:14Yeah, you can find me online at ICT Broke Girls on Facebook,
- 1:37:18Instagram and TikTok, and then my social media agency, Abedini
- 1:37:23Social. You can find me at Abedini

- 1:37:38Put it in I. Bet I've been doing that.
- 1:37:57None.
