- 0:00[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, friend.
- 0:00[SPEAKER_01]: Welcome back to Bible TrackTecos.
- 0:02[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you so much for taking your time and joining me right here today.
- 0:07[SPEAKER_01]: I've mentioned this previously on this particular broadcast.
- 0:10[SPEAKER_01]: I've probably mentioned it many times, but I believe every Christian should have a home church.
- 0:16[SPEAKER_01]: Of course, we sort of appreciate folks that are in some way spiritually fed or disciples are encouraged to help edify, build up, buy Bible track decos.
- 0:26[SPEAKER_01]: We don't, I don't just talk to a microphone for my health.
- 0:30[SPEAKER_01]: I don't just do it because I have nothing better to do.
- 0:32[SPEAKER_01]: There is a purpose.
- 0:34[SPEAKER_01]: There is a reason in my prayer is that Christians are drawn to or are convicted of the need to be more evangelistic that the lost are specifically evangelized and that the body of Christ is more of a burden for souls and a burden for as we've been talking about this.
- 0:52[SPEAKER_01]: We continuing the work that Jesus has left us.
- 0:55[SPEAKER_01]: for finishing the job.
- 0:58[SPEAKER_01]: Until I say it often, but if you have a pulse, God has a purpose for you, but I do believe that every creation, in addition to listening to good radio, in addition, listening to solid and biblical podcasts and all those things, I believe every creation should have a church that they attend.
- 1:16[SPEAKER_01]: This week on a broadcast, I'm sharing a message that I preached to my home shirts.
- 1:20[SPEAKER_01]: Of course, I know those folks very well.
- 1:22[SPEAKER_01]: And of course, there are many of you listening to this radio broadcast.
- 1:25[SPEAKER_01]: I know you will as well.
- 1:27[SPEAKER_01]: We've met even in person and where we've communicated via email or text.
- 1:32[SPEAKER_01]: I'm so thankful for that.
- 1:33[SPEAKER_01]: But I encourage you that you, that I, we should all have a pastor that we look to.
- 1:39[SPEAKER_01]: We should have someone at our home church, a local church community, that we that has some accountability with us, that helps guide us.
- 1:49[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not saying that we turn every
- 1:51[SPEAKER_01]: we we check our brain at the door and have our pastor tell us every little my new detail of our life should I buy a red car or should I buy a black car or what have you I'm not talking about that necessarily but I'm saying there is something biblical about the local church and so in the broadcast that you will hear today I will talk about the importance of being present at your church.
- 2:14[SPEAKER_01]: We need to be prepared to finish the job.
- 2:16[SPEAKER_01]: We need to be prayed up to finish the job, but we need to be present as well.
- 2:20[SPEAKER_01]: But then I'm going to transition into talking about purpose.
- 2:24[SPEAKER_01]: You know, Daniel, the Bible tells us in the book of Daniel, Daniel purposeed in his heart.
- 2:30[SPEAKER_01]: And we're going to talk about that today for just a little while.
- 2:33[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to ask you to tune your hearts.
- 2:35[SPEAKER_01]: to your minds.
- 2:35[SPEAKER_01]: The next voice you're going to hear is mine, but mine from a little while ago, when this message was recorded, when I preached it to my home church, and my prayers that it's a blessing that, yes, it builds up, but then it also maybe tears away some of the draws that we allow to accumulate in our lives, and that sludge, some of that stuff that just really shouldn't be there.
- 2:56[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe we need to be prepared, prayed up, present, enough to finish
- 3:05[SPEAKER_01]: We talked about, I was talking about the camel before the service of how the greatest ability is availability.
- 3:12[SPEAKER_01]: I said, follow us, secondly, by dependability.
- 3:17[SPEAKER_01]: You know, if you show up to a job and you just show up, you're going to get promoted these days just by showing up.
- 3:26[SPEAKER_01]: If you have a moderately good attitude, you can be discriminated, you're pretty quick.
- 3:37[SPEAKER_01]: You know, God blesses, there are some times that we just need to show up for God.
- 3:42[SPEAKER_01]: Now, yes, we should do what we do out of devotion, not out of display so that other people see.
- 3:49[SPEAKER_01]: We're not here, so because someone's taking role, that's not the reason why.
- 3:54[SPEAKER_01]: But there are times that we need to do the right thing out of duty.
- 3:58[SPEAKER_01]: And we need to pray our way back into devotion to have that closest with God that we want to be there, but do the right thing anyway.
- 4:09[SPEAKER_01]: Are you present enough to finish the job?
- 4:13[SPEAKER_01]: If the links in the chain were only as strong as you where would this church be?
- 4:19[SPEAKER_01]: Hebrews 1025, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together.
- 4:29[SPEAKER_01]: Are you present in, lastly, are you purpose enough that you won't quit?
- 4:36[SPEAKER_01]: Book of Daniel, you know it, but Daniel purposeed in his heart.
- 4:42[SPEAKER_01]: You know,
- 4:43[SPEAKER_01]: Daniel was excellent, he was articulate, he was brilliant, probably an academic mind, he was a leader.
- 4:49[SPEAKER_01]: I can tell you all the things Daniel was, but I grow a little weary of some, many in my generation that say, I don't want to be known by what I'm against.
- 5:02[SPEAKER_01]: You know what?
- 5:03[SPEAKER_01]: Daniel was known by what he was against.
- 5:06[SPEAKER_01]: He walked in, it was ushered into first in, and he told a who's who of Babylon and said, I'm not eating it.
- 5:14[SPEAKER_01]: He didn't lead with, how is it going?
- 5:16[SPEAKER_01]: No, he was kind, he was articulate, he was gracious in his manner.
- 5:21[SPEAKER_01]: He came with a solution instead of just a problem.
- 5:24[SPEAKER_01]: I understand all of that.
- 5:25[SPEAKER_01]: But he started the entire book of Daniel, the way God wanted him to, saying, I'm not doing that.
- 5:32[SPEAKER_01]: He purposeens hard, he would not defile himself with the King's meat, would be to God that we have some people that can be for some things.
- 5:44[SPEAKER_01]: and we didn't drink, we didn't chew, we didn't run with girls that do.
- 5:50[SPEAKER_01]: What's the problem?
- 5:50[SPEAKER_01]: What's the problem?
- 5:52[SPEAKER_01]: With being against a few things, I am against abortion.
- 5:56[SPEAKER_01]: I'm against transgenderism.
- 6:00[SPEAKER_01]: Sodomy is what it is.
- 6:02[SPEAKER_01]: I'm against those things.
- 6:04[SPEAKER_01]: I can be four, God's grace, his love.
- 6:07[SPEAKER_01]: I can be four, all of those things.
- 6:10[SPEAKER_01]: But I'm also serving a God that has justice.
- 6:14[SPEAKER_01]: And somehow, he figures out how to balance 100%.
- 6:17[SPEAKER_01]: And it's not 100% deep.
- 6:19[SPEAKER_01]: It's 100% justice and 100% love.
- 6:22[SPEAKER_01]: And 100% grace and 100%.
- 6:25[SPEAKER_01]: He can do all of those things as some of he keeps them in perfect equilibrium.
- 6:29[SPEAKER_01]: And as we just try to be people,
- 6:32[SPEAKER_01]: We're just welcoming to all, absolutely.
- 6:35[SPEAKER_01]: We are.
- 6:35[SPEAKER_01]: We don't mean it the same way they do, though.
- 6:39[SPEAKER_01]: What they say is, we affirm all.
- 6:42[SPEAKER_01]: No friend, what we might do, it we're in love.
- 6:45[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to help them.
- 6:46[SPEAKER_01]: We'll give them a shoulder cry on, but we're going to preach the devil out of them too.
- 6:51[SPEAKER_01]: Because of all you give us grace, grace, grace.
- 6:55[SPEAKER_01]: You know what happened to Eli's sons?
- 6:57[SPEAKER_01]: They were given nothing but grace by the old man.
- 7:00[SPEAKER_01]: You know what happened?
- 7:01[SPEAKER_01]: Eli's son's died.
- 7:02[SPEAKER_01]: That's liberalism.
- 7:04[SPEAKER_01]: And something dies.
- 7:05[SPEAKER_01]: Now, if you go the other way, it's nothing but truth, truth, truth, that woman taking an adultery, Jesus was able to balance grace and truth.
- 7:13[SPEAKER_01]: But in both cases, if you go 100% one way or 100% the other way, something's going to die.
- 7:19[SPEAKER_01]: And you gotta find the balance.
- 7:20[SPEAKER_01]: We're gonna make mistakes.
- 7:21[SPEAKER_01]: All the time, we're human, we're not Jesus.
- 7:24[SPEAKER_01]: But if you don't stand for anything you, if you don't stand for something you'll fall for anything.
- 7:31[SPEAKER_01]: Purpose, though, keeps you from quitting.
- 7:36[SPEAKER_01]: Now, I hope you're prepared, Prada, present, purpose, and you're ready to finish the job that Christ gave and began.
- 7:44[SPEAKER_01]: But I think about a man.
- 7:46[SPEAKER_01]: His name was Derek Redmond, he ran.
- 7:48[SPEAKER_01]: It was a 92 Olympics, I think.
- 7:51[SPEAKER_01]: He ran in the 400 meter.
- 7:53[SPEAKER_01]: It was a semi-finals technically.
- 7:54[SPEAKER_01]: So it wasn't the metal round, but still, it was an eight, maybe 10 runners on a track.
- 8:00[SPEAKER_01]: 92, and they took off, and he was running strong.
- 8:04[SPEAKER_01]: He, I think he held the British record at the time, fast young man, and he was moving.
- 8:11[SPEAKER_01]: And they had gone down the first corner, and they had come down, they're going down the back stretch.
- 8:15[SPEAKER_01]: And he said, I heard a pop, and it took two strides for the pain to hit, because his hamstring had torn completely.
- 8:28[SPEAKER_01]: and he pulls up and he falls the ground and of course people come out to the medical people and all that type of stuff and he looked up and all he could think was, I've got to finish.
- 8:45[SPEAKER_01]: So he stood up and I'm sure adrenaline played a part in it, but he stood up and he started to hobble and kind of a fast skip.
- 8:52[SPEAKER_01]: If I was the Vitroma handship, I'd be in a puddle on the ground probably, but this guy just started, he was probably hopping faster than I could run, but he was moving.
- 9:02[SPEAKER_01]: And he said, it was just, it was adrenaline as old that.
- 9:06[SPEAKER_01]: And got around the corner and he's trying to come down the front stretch.
- 9:14[SPEAKER_01]: Unvenosed to him, his dad, who had been sitting back here, had jumped the fence, evaded, they'd have as much security back then.
- 9:21[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe you've seen the video, but he runs up behind him, and says Derek, Derek runs up inside him.
- 9:26[SPEAKER_01]: And as soon as Derek saw his dad, he just burst into tears.
- 9:31[SPEAKER_01]: This is what he and his father had been working for.
- 9:35[SPEAKER_01]: for years, not just four years before the Olympic, but for years.
- 9:38[SPEAKER_01]: And his dad said, as he put his arm around him and helped him hobble across the finish line, he said, well, we began Derrick's career together.
- 9:49[SPEAKER_01]: I figured it'd be right if we finished this career together.
- 9:53[SPEAKER_01]: And all that the commentator could say, I don't know, he was one of the well-known voices of sports.
- 10:01[SPEAKER_01]: But said something like that is the Olympic spirit right there Of course, Derek who probably would have been in the running for a metal He would have done very well.
- 10:12[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if it would have finished on the podium or not, but he threw great pain to get it virtually.
- 10:16[SPEAKER_01]: What did you he finished?
- 10:21[SPEAKER_01]: Can I say To those of that especially those that have been here
- 10:27[SPEAKER_01]: for a good long while, for the mises, or the pierces, or the Johnston's, or the Woodward's, or you name it, and the Rippy, the jobs not finished.
- 10:40[SPEAKER_01]: Can I say to you, if you've only been here for a few years, jobs not finished?
- 10:45[SPEAKER_01]: Can I say to you, if this is your first couple of months, in this church, jobs not finished?
- 10:53[SPEAKER_01]: early in World War II, 1942, the British who were trying to hold off the might of Nazi Germany.
- 11:02[SPEAKER_01]: They won what the public thought was a resounding victory in North Africa, many forget that that was another front of the war, and they won a great battle, or so the newspaper said.
- 11:15[SPEAKER_01]: Everyone was exulting and so happy about this.
- 11:22[SPEAKER_01]: He said this, Churchill did, the leader that guided them through them.
- 11:29[SPEAKER_01]: Now this is not the end.
- 11:31[SPEAKER_01]: He is not even the beginning of the end, but it is perhaps the end of the beginning.
- 11:43[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know for you where you're at in your Christian walk.
- 11:48[SPEAKER_01]: Can I tell you?
- 11:49[SPEAKER_01]: God's not done with you.
- 11:52[SPEAKER_01]: If you have a pulse, God has a purpose for your life.
- 11:55[SPEAKER_01]: Frank, thank you so much for listening to this week of broadcasts.
- 11:58[SPEAKER_01]: We're not done necessarily here in the book of Acts chapter number one, our theme verse for this week has been this Acts 11.
- 12:07[SPEAKER_01]: The former treaties have I made oath theophilus of all that Jesus began both to do.
- 12:14[SPEAKER_01]: and teach.
- 12:16[SPEAKER_01]: And here we are, whether you're listening to this during the Christmas season or right on the cusp of Christmas or not, but tomorrow on the broadcast, we're going to go back, we're going to go way back to Luke chapter 2.
- 12:27[SPEAKER_01]: That's the former treaties that Luke, the author, the human author is speaking of here.
- 12:33[SPEAKER_01]: And we're going to look at what he had to say about what
- 12:44[SPEAKER_01]: tomorrow on the broadcast.
- 12:46[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you so very much for listening.
