- 0:37and 5. Join us. Welcome to the One Year Audio Bible Podcast. Today is July 18th.
- 0:45Now let's continue our journey reading through the entire Bible in one year. This
- 0:50week we are reading from the Israel Bible for the Old Testament or the
- 0:54Hebrew Scriptures and from the King James for the New Testament or Apostolic
- 1:00Writings. Numbers 25 1 to 9. While Israel was staying at Shittim, the people
- 1:13profaned themselves by whoring with the Moabite women who invited the people to
- 1:17the sacrifices for their God. The people partook of them and worshipped that God.
- 1:24Thus Israel attached itself to Baal Peor and Hashem was incensed with Israel.
- 1:33Hashem said to Moses, take all the ringleaders and have them publicly
- 1:38impaled before Hashem so that Hashem's wrath may turn away from Israel. So Moses
- 1:45said to Israel's officials, each of you slay those of his men who attach
- 1:49themselves to Baal Peor. Just then one of the Israelites came and brought a
- 1:55Midianite woman over to his companions in the sight of Moses and of the whole
- 2:00Israelite community who were weeping at the entrance of the tent of meeting. When
- 2:06Pinchas, son of Eleazar, son of the Aaron the Kohen, saw this, he left the
- 2:12assembly, and taking a spear in his hand, he followed the Israelite into the
- 2:18hamber and stabbed both of them, the Israelite and the woman, through the
- 2:23belly. Then the plague against the Israelites was checked. Those who died of
- 2:30the plague numbered 24,000.
- 2:35First Chronicles 26 12 to 27 34. These are the divisions of the gatekeepers by
- 2:50their chief men who worked in shifts corresponding to their kinsmen
- 2:54ministering in the house of Hashem. They cast lots, small and great alike, by
- 2:59clans for each gate. The lot for the east gate fell to Shalamiah. Then they
- 3:05cast lots for Zechariah, his son, a prudent counselor, and his lot came out
- 3:11to be the north gate. For Obed-Edom, the south gate, and for his sons, the
- 3:16vestibule. For Shephim and for Hosah, the west gate, with the Shelecheth gate on
- 3:23the ascending highway. Watch corresponded to watch. At the east, six
- 3:30Leviim at the north, four daily. At the south, four daily. At the vestibule, two by
- 3:36two. At the colonnade on the west, four at the causeway and two at the colonnade.
- 3:42These were the divisions of the gatekeepers of the sons of Korah and the
- 3:46sons of Morari. And the Leviim, Akiah, over the treasuries of the house of
- 3:53Hashem and the treasuries of the dedicated things. The sons of Ladan, the
- 3:58sons of Gershonites, belonging to Ladan. The chiefs of the clans of Ladan, the
- 4:03Gershonite. Yechieli, the sons of Yechieli, Zetham and Joel, his brother was
- 4:10over the treasuries of the house of Hashem. Of the Amramites, the Isharites,
- 4:16the Shevronites, the Uzziolites, Shebuel, son of Gershon, son of Moses, was the
- 4:22chief officer over the treasuries. And his brothers, Eleazar, his son Rehobiah,
- 4:29his son Jeshiah, his son Joram, his son Zichri, his son Shalemeth. That Shalemeth
- 4:36and his brothers were over all the treasuries of dedicated things that were
- 4:40dedicated by King David. And the chiefs of the clans, and the officers of
- 4:46thousands and hundreds, and the other army officers, they dedicated some of the
- 4:51booty of the wars to maintain the house of Hashem. All that Shmuel, the seer, had
- 4:57dedicated, and Shal, son of Kish, and Abner, son of Ner, and Joab, son of Zechariah,
- 5:04or what any other man had dedicated, was under the charge of Shalemeth and his
- 5:09brothers. The Isharites, Shaniah and his sons, were over Israel as clerks and
- 5:16magistrates for affairs outside the sanctuary. The Shevronites, Hashabiah and
- 5:23his brothers, capable men, seventeen hundred, supervising Israel on the west
- 5:28side of the Jordan in all matters of Hashem and the service of the king. The
- 5:33Shevronites, Zeriah, the chief of the Shevronites, they were investigated in
- 5:37the fortieth year of David's reign by clans of all their lines, and men of
- 5:43substance were found among them in Jazer Gilead, his brothers, able men, two
- 5:49thousand seven hundred. Chiefs of clans, David put them in charge of the
- 5:54Reubenites, the Gadites, and the half-tribe of Manasseh, in all matters of
- 6:00Hashem, and matters of the king. The number of Israelites, chiefs of clans,
- 6:06officers of thousands and hundreds and their clerks, who served the king in all
- 6:11matters of the divisions, who worked in monthly shifts during all the months of
- 6:16the year, each division, twenty-four thousand.
- 6:26Over the first division for the first month, Jeshuabim, son of Zabdiel, his
- 6:32division had twenty-four thousand. Of the sons of Peretz, he, the chief of all the
- 6:37officers of the army, served for the first month. Over the division of the
- 6:42second month, Dodai, the Aloite, Mildath, was the chief officer of his division,
- 6:48his division had twenty-four thousand. The third army officer for the third
- 6:53month, Benaiah, son of Jehodiah, the chief Kohen, his division had twenty-four
- 6:58thousand. That was Benaiah, one of the warriors of the thirty, and over the
- 7:03thirty and over his division was Hamizabad, his son. The fourth for the
- 7:08fourth month, Asael, brother of Joab, and his son Zebediah after him, his division
- 7:15had twenty-four thousand. The fifth for the fifth month, the officer Shamhut, the

- 9:00and Gilead, Edo, son of Zechariah, Benjamin, Jassil, son of Abner, Dan, Azrael, son of
- 9:08Jeraham. These were the officers of the tribes of Israel. David did not take a
- 9:16census of those under 20 years of age, for Hashem had promised to make Israel
- 9:21as numerous as the stars of the sky.
- 9:30Joab, son of Zeruiah, did begin to count them, but he did not finish. Wrath struck
- 9:36Israel on account of this, and the census was not entered into the account of the
- 9:42chronicles of King David. Over the royal treasuries, Asmathah, son of Adiel, over
- 9:49the treasuries in the country, in the towns, the hamlets, and the citadels,

- 11:22Romans 4 13 to 5 5
- 11:30For the promise that he should be the heir of the world was not to Abraham or
- 11:42to his seed through the law, but through the righteous of faith. For if they which
- 11:49are of the law be heirs, faith is made void, and the promise made of no effect.
- 11:56Because the law works wrath, for where no law is, there is no transgression.
- 12:03Therefore it is of faith that it might be by grace to the end the promise might
- 12:10be sure to all the seed, not to that only which is of the law, but to that also
- 12:16which is of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all. As it is written, I
- 12:26have made you a father of many nations before him whom he believed, even God who
- 12:33quickens the dead and calls those things which be not as though they were. Who
- 12:40against hope believed in hope that he might become the father of many nations
- 12:47according to that which was spoken, so shall your seed be. And being not weak in
- 12:55faith, he considered not his own body now dead when he was about a hundred
- 13:01years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah's womb. He staggered not at the
- 13:09promise of God through unbelief, but was strong in faith, giving glory to God, and
- 13:16being fully persuaded that what he had promised he was able also to perform. And
- 13:24therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness. Now it was not written for
- 13:31his sake alone that it was imputed to him, but for us also to whom it shall be
- 13:37imputed if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead, who was
- 13:43delivered for our offenses and was raised again for our justification.
- 13:50Therefore, being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord
- 13:59Jesus Christ, by whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we
- 14:07stand and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. And not only so, but we glory in
- 14:16tribulations also, knowing that tribulation works patience, and patience
- 14:23experience, and experience hope. And hope makes not ashamed, because the love of
- 14:31God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given to us.
- 14:40Psalm 14, 1 to 7. The fool has said in his heart there is no God. They are
- 14:49corrupt. They have done abominable works. There is none that does good. The Lord
- 14:55looked down from heaven upon the children of men to see if there were any
- 14:59that did understand and seek God. They are all gone aside. They are all together
- 15:06become filthy. There is none that does good. No, not one. Have all the workers of
- 15:13iniquity no knowledge? Who eat up my people as they eat bread, and call not
- 15:19upon the Lord? There were they in great fear, for God is in the generation of the
- 15:26righteous. You have shamed the counsel of the poor, because the Lord is his refuge.
- 15:32Oh, that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion. When the Lord brings
- 15:40back the captivity of his people, Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel shall be glad.
- 15:49Proverbs 19, 17. He that has pity upon the poor lends unto the Lord, and that which
- 15:58he has given will he pay him again. I want to speak to you today again from Romans
- 16:07chapter 4, and we've been continuing down the Roman road of salvation, and each day
- 16:14as we read more from the book of Romans, we're unpacking the whole understanding
- 16:20and digging deep into how is it that we are saved, that we have salvation. And so
- 16:27in this chapter today, we see that it says here, Abraham was not weak in faith, but he
- 16:34considered not his own body now dead when he was about 100 years old. Neither yet
- 16:40the deadness of Sarah's womb. He didn't stagger at the promise of God through
- 16:47unbelief, but was strong in faith, giving glory to God. Now remember, God gave him a
- 16:53promise that he was going to have a son from his own loins, and he's 100 years old.
- 17:01And Sarah, maybe she's 90 or 95, but she's well past childbearing years, well past
- 17:08menopause. And so biologically, physically, it seemed impossible. And they had waited
- 17:17a long, long time for this to come to pass. Many, many, many years had gone by. This is
- 17:25why there was a bit of a stumbling earlier on when they got... Sarah became
- 17:32impatient, thinking, well, this hasn't happened, so let's take matters in our own
- 17:36hands. And so she says to Abraham, lie with my hand servant, my maid servant,
- 17:42Hagar. So Abraham did, and Hagar gave birth to Ishmael. But that was not God's
- 17:50plan. And so Abraham, though, here in this passage in Romans, he was not weak in
- 17:59faith. He considered not his own body, even though dead. When he's about 100
- 18:04years old, he didn't stagger or stumble at the promise that God gave with
- 18:09unbelief or fear or doubt. He was strong in faith, and he was fully convinced and
- 18:15persuaded that what God had promised to him, he was able to perform. Have you ever
- 18:23had a promise given to you from the Lord? Perhaps a scripture that came alive in
- 18:29your heart of a promise from the Word of God that he was going to fulfill in your
- 18:34life, and yet it seems impossible and a long, long time has gone by. Maybe it's a
- 18:44promise that you're going to conceive and have a baby. Maybe it's a promise
- 18:49that you're going to meet a godly husband or a godly wife and you'll one
- 18:53day marry. I don't know what it is that you have waited upon the Lord for, but if
- 19:00he has promised it to you by his Holy Spirit and confirmed it through his
- 19:05scripture and confirmed it through perhaps a second or a third witness, then
- 19:11we want to be like Abraham. We want to be strong in our faith and be fully
- 19:17convinced and persuaded in our mind and not believe what our eyes see, but believe
- 19:23what does God say. Did God say it? I believe it. That settles it. Now here's
- 19:32good news, my friend. In chapter 5, verse 1, but let me back up. Verse 24,
- 19:41For us also, to whom it shall be imputed salvation, righteousness, if we believe on
- 19:50him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead, if we believe that Jesus was
- 19:58raised from the dead, that he died for our sins, he died for my sins, he died for
- 20:04your sins, and he was risen from the dead, and he was delivered over for our
- 20:09offenses, he took the death that you and I deserved. He took the punishment. The
- 20:15wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life, and he was delivered
- 20:20up for our offenses and raised again for our justification, that if you believe
- 20:26that in your heart, here's the good news. Romans chapter 5, verse 1, Therefore you
- 20:35are justified by faith, and you have peace with God the Father through our
- 20:42Lord Jesus Christ. God is no longer going to turn his face away from you. He's no
- 20:51longer going to put you under his wrath, under his judgment, but now he turns his
- 20:59face toward you, and he receives you as a child into his family, into the kingdom
- 21:07of God, as his precious and beloved son or daughter. You are now part of the
- 21:15family of God. It's all by faith. It's not based on works or performance. It's not
- 21:24based on obeying the law of Moses. It's based on faith in Jesus Christ. We are
- 21:32born again. It is no longer I who live, but Christ Jesus who lives in me. And that
- 21:41is good news, my friend. Have a blessed day, and we'll see you tomorrow. Shalom.
