- 0:22SPEAKER_03: Hello, everybody, and welcome back to another episode of the Tortured Fans Department podcast.
- 0:27SPEAKER_03: I'm your host, Sean Boyle.
- 0:29SPEAKER_03: We've got a four-person panel for you here today.
- 0:32SPEAKER_03: I'll start by introducing the boys.
- 0:34SPEAKER_03: First up, we have the return of a founding father, Mr.
- 0:37SPEAKER_00: Michael Collins, MC.
- 0:38SPEAKER_00: How are you?
- 0:39SPEAKER_00: Good evening.
- 0:40SPEAKER_00: Doing great.
- 0:41SPEAKER_00: I'm excited to talk ice cream.
- 0:43SPEAKER_00: It's my favorite thing to talk, possibly.
- 0:45SPEAKER_03: We also have the man behind the introduction music, Mr.
- 0:48SPEAKER_03: Ryan Amade.
- 0:49SPEAKER_03: Ryan, how are you doing?
- 0:50SPEAKER_02: I'm doing great.
- 0:51SPEAKER_02: I'm also an avid ice cream enjoyer, so I'm very excited about this.
- 0:55SPEAKER_03: And last but certainly not least, a man who is not wearing a hat this evening, but wears a lot of hats on the program.
- 1:01SPEAKER_03: Mr.
- 1:01SPEAKER_03: Michael Blum.
- 1:02SPEAKER_03: Blum, how's it going?
- 1:03SPEAKER_04: I'm good, Sean.
- 1:04SPEAKER_04: Uh, happy to be back on the pod.
- 1:06SPEAKER_04: And uh, how are you?
- 1:07SPEAKER_04: I feel like no one really asks you that in these interests.
- 1:11SPEAKER_03: He's just the most considerate guy going.
- 1:12SPEAKER_03: I'm doing good, Blum.
- 1:14SPEAKER_03: I thank you for asking.
- 1:15SPEAKER_03: Ryan and Collins, you guys touched on it.
- 1:18SPEAKER_03: It's in the episode title.
- 1:19SPEAKER_03: It is the ice cream draft.
- 1:21SPEAKER_03: This is important work that we're doing here.
- 1:23SPEAKER_03: Monumental stuff.
- 1:25SPEAKER_03: There's palpable buzz in the air.
- 1:27SPEAKER_03: There's some tension.
- 1:28SPEAKER_03: Right now, here's how I'm going to preface the draft rules for the listener.
- 1:32SPEAKER_03: We are doing six rounds.
- 1:34SPEAKER_03: We are drafting three flavors.
- 1:36SPEAKER_03: We're drafting one novelty, which is kind of like a frozen item, or it could be found in an ice cream truck from the ice cream man.
- 1:44SPEAKER_03: We're drafting one ice cream shop order, which is different.
- 1:48SPEAKER_03: I think we all know the distinction there.
- 1:50SPEAKER_03: And then lastly, we're drafting one topping.
- 1:53SPEAKER_03: So, boys, let's just start there.
- 1:55SPEAKER_03: There's gonna be some overlap, obviously, with those kind of rules and regulations in place.
- 2:00SPEAKER_03: But do those rules make sense to everybody?
- 2:02SPEAKER_03: Absolutely.
- 2:04SPEAKER_00: I think we're all set to go.
- 2:05SPEAKER_00: I mean, like you said, there will be a little bit of overlap, but if if you're drafting a topping that exists in somebody else's flavor, then that's your choice.
- 2:15SPEAKER_00: So Okay.
- 2:16SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I like that.
- 2:17SPEAKER_00: Anything along those lines, novelty.
- 2:19SPEAKER_00: And so the the you you called it ice cream shop order.
- 2:24SPEAKER_00: It can essentially be a menu item at anywhere that serves an ice cream correct.
- 2:30SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it could be yeah.
- 2:32SPEAKER_03: Basically, I think there's a distinction between the Mr.
- 2:35SPEAKER_03: Ice Cream, Mr.
- 2:36SPEAKER_03: Softy rolling around town with some pre-packaged stuff and going to an actual ice cream shop in the summer.
- 2:42SPEAKER_03: We were kind of figuring out the rules to this.
- 2:44SPEAKER_03: We had kind of neglected going to an ice cream shop in the summer from our board.
- 2:47SPEAKER_03: We were just gonna do flavors and maybe Mr.
- 2:49SPEAKER_03: Softy, but I think really the way I primarily consume ice cream is in the summer going to a shop.
- 2:55SPEAKER_03: So I feel like we had to get that on the board as well.
- 2:57SPEAKER_03: We haven't decided the draft order yet.
- 3:00SPEAKER_03: Glum has a list randomizer ready to roll.
- 3:03SPEAKER_03: Blum, go ahead and hit that and then let us know what the draft order is.
- 3:07SPEAKER_04: I have hit randomize, and the order is Brian, me, Boyle Collins.
- 3:13SPEAKER_03: If I can and he showed us a blank white screen just to come back.
- 3:19SPEAKER_01: That's green thing for the anything.
- 3:25SPEAKER_03: So, Ryan, you will be starting us off.
- 3:28SPEAKER_03: I'm so glad I'm not on the hot seat here.
- 3:31SPEAKER_00: Ryan, do you think do you think you're qualified to make the first overall pick in this draft?
- 3:36SPEAKER_00: Because if I had to say I personally, I'm overqualified.
- 3:39SPEAKER_00: I may be the biggest ice cream guy each each one of you know individually.
- 3:44SPEAKER_04: Do we have a trade?
- 3:46SPEAKER_01: No, I'm happy.
- 3:47SPEAKER_01: Are we proposing a trade?
- 3:49SPEAKER_01: I'll listen to an offer.
- 3:52SPEAKER_00: We could swap spots if you want.
- 3:54SPEAKER_00: What pick are you?
- 3:55SPEAKER_00: I'm fourth.
- 3:57SPEAKER_00: I'm happy to say I'm fourth too.
- 3:59SPEAKER_00: Unprecedented here.
- 4:01SPEAKER_00: No, I'll stick with one.
- 4:03SPEAKER_00: Wow.
- 4:03SPEAKER_00: I can't wait.
- 4:05unknown: I can't wait.
- 4:06SPEAKER_02: One.
- 4:07SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 4:08SPEAKER_02: Okay, first pick.
- 4:10SPEAKER_02: I'm going.
- 4:12SPEAKER_02: I would say, you know, 90 on the black, like nothing, nothing crazy, but it's gonna do the job, and it's what I want more than anything in the summertime.
- 4:23SPEAKER_02: Okay, it's gonna be a menu item.
- 4:26SPEAKER_02: It's gonna be a chocolate vanilla twist on a cone.
- 4:29SPEAKER_02: That is that a valid menu item pick.
- 4:32SPEAKER_02: For sure.
- 4:33SPEAKER_02: That's what I want.
- 4:34SPEAKER_01: A soft serve.
- 4:36SPEAKER_02: Soft serve twist.
- 4:38SPEAKER_02: If I can throw sprinkles on it, I would like to.
- 4:41SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 4:42SPEAKER_03: If if not, uh I think your menu order can be whatever you want it to be.
- 4:46SPEAKER_03: That's what I'm saying.
- 4:46SPEAKER_02: My menu order is a chocolate vanilla twist on a cone with rainbow sprinkles.
- 4:50SPEAKER_02: That is my one-one.
- 4:52SPEAKER_02: That is the ice cream that I want the most by far.
- 4:54SPEAKER_02: It never is bad.
- 4:56SPEAKER_02: It's always going to hit when you can get your hands on it, especially when it's warm out.
- 5:00SPEAKER_02: That that is my my quintessential one-one ice cream pick.
- 5:04SPEAKER_02: Do you worry about it?
- 5:07SPEAKER_02: No, not at all.
- 5:08SPEAKER_02: No, no.
- 5:09SPEAKER_02: I've eaten enough of them where you I've got the spin method down pretty good.
- 5:12SPEAKER_00: I can I can just picture you with it all down your floor.
- 5:16SPEAKER_00: No, you got it all wrong, brother.
- 5:18SPEAKER_00: Would be sticky elbows in the Amada house.
- 5:21SPEAKER_02: No, I got the twist method rolling.
- 5:24SPEAKER_02: I am curious to know what you guys think though.
- 5:26SPEAKER_02: Like, is that a valid one one?
- 5:27SPEAKER_02: Was that on your board like at all?
- 5:29SPEAKER_02: Like, I don't know if we're on the same page here.
- 5:31SPEAKER_04: Yeah, that was my by far one-one in that category.
- 5:36SPEAKER_04: Okay, okay.
- 5:37SPEAKER_03: Yeah, it was it's high up there in that category for me.
- 5:41SPEAKER_03: It was probably my two.
- 5:42SPEAKER_03: It's never the first thing I get, but it's always my default backup.
- 5:45SPEAKER_03: So I think when you said it throws 90 on the black, I think that's good.
- 5:48SPEAKER_03: I'm still taking 90 deep.
- 5:50SPEAKER_03: Now, 98, you might be able to catch me off, but 90 on the black is within my range.
- 5:56SPEAKER_03: So I think it's a fine pick.
- 5:58SPEAKER_03: It's good, it's dependable.
- 5:59SPEAKER_03: I just think it lacks maybe a little bit of the upside that some of the others do.
- 6:03SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I you know, I agree.
- 6:04SPEAKER_03: Yeah, but it's safe and it's it deserves a spot in the first round, I'd say.
- 6:09SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I'm never I feel like I'm never ordering uh soft serve personally.
- 6:14SPEAKER_00: I'm I'm genuinely I I'm I'm I'm very much an appreciator at a baseball game out of a helmet or something, a soft serve, of course.
- 6:23SPEAKER_00: If I'm at an ice cream shop, I'm I'm going taking my talents elsewhere outside of the soft serve realm.
- 6:29SPEAKER_02: I love it.
- 6:30SPEAKER_02: That is, yeah, that's a good point.
- 6:31SPEAKER_02: I think for me, ice cream, hard ice cream, the the highs are crazy high, but the lows are pretty low.
- 6:39SPEAKER_02: So for me, I I I look to this as like a consistent pick, which is what you know, hence the 90 on the black comment.
- 6:45SPEAKER_02: But very curious to see where else is.
- 6:47SPEAKER_00: That's your draft, yeah.
- 6:48SPEAKER_02: Yeah, run your race.
- 6:49SPEAKER_04: I am up with the 102.
- 6:52SPEAKER_04: I feel like I would be a lemming if I took a topping in the first round.
- 6:57SPEAKER_04: I'm not going to do that.
- 6:58SPEAKER_04: I'm going to go with a ice cream flavor.
- 7:02SPEAKER_04: This is by far my favorite.
- 7:04SPEAKER_04: I have no idea where you guys stand on this, but I'm going to go with Rocky Road ice cream for the 102.
- 7:10SPEAKER_02: Wow.
- 7:11SPEAKER_04: We have your chocolate, you have your marshmallows, you have your nuts, everything in one tub of ice cream.
- 7:19SPEAKER_04: It just a lot of flavors.
- 7:21SPEAKER_04: I like it.
- 7:22SPEAKER_04: It's always been my go-to.
- 7:23SPEAKER_04: So going Rocky Road.
- 7:25SPEAKER_02: I am a Rocky Road enjoyer.
- 7:27SPEAKER_02: I do like Rocky Road.
- 7:28SPEAKER_02: I think you correct me if I'm wrong, I think you probably could have gotten it a lot later, but I I do like Rocky Road.
- 7:34SPEAKER_02: It's good, it's a good ice cream.
- 7:35SPEAKER_03: I'm with you, Ryan.
- 7:36SPEAKER_03: I would almost echo exactly what you said, but it's it's dawning on me quickly that this draft is very subjective, and I don't really have a feel for where anybody's gonna go.
- 7:46SPEAKER_03: Take your guys, and I think you got your guy here.
- 7:48SPEAKER_03: I'm a Rocky Road enjoyer as well.
- 7:50SPEAKER_03: It was number five in flavors for me, so definitely a draft pick at some point.
- 7:54SPEAKER_03: Could have got it later, but you're who are you to know that?
- 7:57SPEAKER_04: It was a guessing game.
- 7:58SPEAKER_00: Yeah, you sort of get you you sort of get the best of all worlds.
- 8:01SPEAKER_00: If you're looking to maximize flavors, you're doing exactly that.
- 8:05SPEAKER_00: It might be a little bit of death by flavor, potentially, but but you're gonna get everything that that you're looking for.
- 8:14SPEAKER_00: If you it's it's actually good, a lot of times I can't make my mind up, so I'll got I'll go with something like that to just get everything that I'm after.
- 8:21SPEAKER_00: So yeah.
- 8:23SPEAKER_02: Death by flavor is crazy.
- 8:26SPEAKER_03: That's why I thought it was flavored.
- 8:28SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 8:29SPEAKER_03: Oh boy.
- 8:29SPEAKER_03: All right.
- 8:30SPEAKER_03: I again, this is where I feel like I can be like I can be taking a horrible pick here, but I think I'm gonna take one from the most shallow category, is what I'm aiming for here.
- 8:41SPEAKER_03: I think you're gonna take a look at the.
- 8:42SPEAKER_03: I'm gonna go with my Mr.
- 8:44SPEAKER_03: Softy, my novelty pick here.
- 8:46SPEAKER_03: I'm gonna take a pre-packaged item, and I'm gonna take the chip witch.
- 8:50SPEAKER_05: Yep.
- 8:51SPEAKER_05: Yeah, yeah.
- 8:53SPEAKER_03: Give me that vanilla ice cream sandwich between two cookies.
- 8:57SPEAKER_03: Trader Joe's does a spectacular one.
- 9:00SPEAKER_03: Oh my god.
- 9:02SPEAKER_03: You can eat them in three bites, they're so good, they're so soft.
- 9:06SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 9:08SPEAKER_03: So happy to have it.
- 9:09SPEAKER_00: I was really, really banking on getting a chip witch here.
- 9:12SPEAKER_00: Chipwitch is is the one the correct one-one.
- 9:15SPEAKER_03: Thank you.
- 9:15SPEAKER_03: I'm saying that means a lot coming from you.
- 9:17SPEAKER_00: It does.
- 9:18SPEAKER_00: It's quite possibly man's best culinary creation.
- 9:25SPEAKER_00: Whoever whoever took two chocolate chip cookies and decided to put a scoop of ice cream in the middle of my hat's off to you, good sir.
- 9:33SPEAKER_00: And then we're rolling in chocolate chips.
- 9:35SPEAKER_02: That's the yeah, that's what puts it over.
- 9:37SPEAKER_00: I mean truly, truly.
- 9:42SPEAKER_04: The only thing I'll say is the cookie has to be soft.
- 9:45SPEAKER_04: If it's a hard cookie, it's it changes it a little bit.
- 9:48SPEAKER_04: It has to be a nice, soft, easy bite to get through the cookie and ice cream.
- 9:53SPEAKER_03: For sure.
- 9:54SPEAKER_03: And the ice cream has to be soft too.
- 9:55SPEAKER_03: It can't be really hard, crusty ice cream.
- 9:58SPEAKER_03: And and don't get me wrong, there's some variability in the offerings here, but I think when done right, that's my one-one.
- 10:06SPEAKER_03: And also, like I said, it's in a position where I'm not in love with a ton of the pre-packaged stuff, and I don't ever really frequent any of them, so I had to get my guy on the board.
- 10:16SPEAKER_03: I and to have a true ice cream man, like Michael Collins, say it was the right one-one, it means the world.
- 10:22SPEAKER_03: So I'm I'm interested to learn from and hear what he has to say at the wraparound here.
- 10:26SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 10:27SPEAKER_00: Well, my my entire draft just kind of got derailed there.
- 10:32SPEAKER_00: I was really just the the the chip witch was gonna be the cornerstone of Team Collins.
- 10:38SPEAKER_00: And now we're left with it took a whole bunch to derive that draft.
- 10:42SPEAKER_03: It was really just one pick.
- 10:44SPEAKER_00: Oh boy.
- 10:45SPEAKER_00: Now the question is where do we want to go?
- 10:47SPEAKER_00: Because I agree with you that the novelty category is shallow.
- 10:52SPEAKER_00: Um I think I think I will start it off with a flavor.
- 11:00SPEAKER_00: And this is the one of the cream of the crops, no pun intended.
- 11:05SPEAKER_00: You want to talk 90 on the black.
- 11:07SPEAKER_00: This one simply never misses.
- 11:09SPEAKER_00: It's the cookies and cream.
- 11:11SPEAKER_00: The Oreo is Milk's favorite cookie.
- 11:14SPEAKER_00: So, what better way to enjoy it than to just toss it in with the vanilla ice cream and and enjoy?
- 11:21SPEAKER_00: You get a if you're at a proper ice cream shop, they even manage to get some of the Oreo filling icing within that ice cream as well.
- 11:31SPEAKER_00: So you really get the taste of the icing throughout every scoop or every lick if you're on a cone.
- 11:36SPEAKER_00: So the cookies and cream is is for sure belongs in the first round to me.
- 11:42SPEAKER_03: I love Melk's favorite cookie.
- 11:44SPEAKER_03: It's nature's most powerful Afro DC.
- 11:48SPEAKER_03: Similar vibes there.
- 11:50SPEAKER_03: It was a clear staple on I'm sure all of our board.
- 11:54SPEAKER_03: It's gonna play well on the graphic.
- 11:56SPEAKER_03: I think that's a good pick.
- 11:57SPEAKER_04: That was my number two ice cream.
- 11:59SPEAKER_04: There you go.
- 12:00SPEAKER_00: Okay, great.
- 12:02SPEAKER_00: Well, now I now it's now it's tough on which one do I want to go with.
- 12:09SPEAKER_00: And I think that I'm gonna, I'm worried that that there's gonna be run a run on kickers here.
- 12:16SPEAKER_00: And I'm gonna take I'm gonna take the novelty item, I'm gonna take something.
- 12:20SPEAKER_00: You can get it at the grocery store, you can get it from Mr.
- 12:23SPEAKER_00: Softy, and it it's nice and fruity, it's sweet, and it never ever misses.
- 12:30SPEAKER_00: That's the strawberry shortcake.
- 12:32SPEAKER_00: Um, popsicle, cakey on a stick, however you like to describe it.
- 12:38SPEAKER_00: It's it was the second one in my novelty category.
- 12:41SPEAKER_00: There is a large gap between that and the the chip witch to me, but uh that's a clear number two in my book.
- 12:48SPEAKER_00: If I were to go uh to the grocery store and get a box of these, they're probably gone by Friday.
- 12:54SPEAKER_00: And and yeah, I'm I'm just a huge fan of the strawberry shortcake.
- 12:57SPEAKER_00: And I felt like there's not all that many fruity flavored items that really, really play in the ice cream world, but this is one of them.
- 13:08SPEAKER_02: Agree.
- 13:09SPEAKER_02: This is that was my number two on this list as well.
- 13:11SPEAKER_02: Chip wish one, strawberry shortcake too.
- 13:14SPEAKER_02: Absolute classic.
- 13:15SPEAKER_02: I like the texture on these too.
- 13:17SPEAKER_02: You get the little kind of like cakey on the outside, cake crumbles on the outside.
- 13:21SPEAKER_03: Oh my god.
- 13:22SPEAKER_03: Yeah, that cake crumbles nice, and then there's a bitterness to that strawberry that that's well done.
- 13:27SPEAKER_03: And I think it's I think it's a definite, definite good pick and deserves to be drafted in the novelty section.
- 13:33SPEAKER_03: I had it as right in that mix for my number two novelty as well.
- 13:36SPEAKER_03: I will say, of course, there's a drop-off, Collins, but it's important to get one of these on the board, I think.
- 13:41SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I don't think that anything else that I really wanted in this category was getting back to me, unfortunately.
- 13:47SPEAKER_00: Uh, and there's just something about the the ice cream on the stick that that really gets it.
- 13:52SPEAKER_00: It's true novelty.
- 13:54SPEAKER_04: I will say it stays together well too.
- 13:56SPEAKER_04: A lot of elements go into it and it doesn't fall apart.
- 13:59SPEAKER_04: So that's always a plus when we're talking ice cream.
- 14:05SPEAKER_03: I'm about to take a polarizing figure, and I'm just gonna stay true to myself.
- 14:10SPEAKER_03: I love, love, love this flavor.
- 14:13SPEAKER_03: It it I've never had a bad one, in fact.
- 14:16SPEAKER_03: You guys might hate it, I don't care.
- 14:18SPEAKER_03: Give me mint chocolate chip.
- 14:20SPEAKER_04: I knew where you're going the second you started that Sean.
- 14:23SPEAKER_02: Yeah, same.
- 14:24SPEAKER_02: I I am a mint chocolate chip enjoyer.
- 14:26SPEAKER_02: My wife is not, she says mint belongs in toothpaste.
- 14:29SPEAKER_02: I couldn't disagree more.
- 14:30SPEAKER_02: I think it's very refreshing.
- 14:31SPEAKER_02: Mint chocolate chip to me is the kind of ice cream that I want when I'm really, really full from dinner, but I still want a little something sweet afterwards.
- 14:38SPEAKER_02: Like a scoop of mint chocolate chip is like real refreshing.
- 14:41SPEAKER_03: Yeah, it's a palate cleanser.
- 14:43SPEAKER_03: It's borderline healthy.
- 14:44SPEAKER_03: It's borderline healthy.
- 14:46SPEAKER_03: And if you want to really talk about getting bang for your buck value, I mean, listen here.
- 14:52SPEAKER_03: This doesn't even count as calories when you have mint chocolate chip.
- 14:55SPEAKER_03: The level to which you feel after mint chocolate chip compared to some of these other compared to a Rocky Road.
- 14:59SPEAKER_00: Oh my god, it's like you're watching your carbs.
- 15:02SPEAKER_00: I understand that it's a a widely enjoyed item.
- 15:06SPEAKER_00: I am not a a mint flavor guy.
- 15:09SPEAKER_00: I'm I'm sort of on Veronica's side here.
- 15:12SPEAKER_00: I uh I just, you know, gum lifesavers, I'm just I don't enjoy the mint taste.
- 15:18SPEAKER_00: So I I'm not I'm not qualified enough to give a proper opinion on uh that flavor.
- 15:24SPEAKER_04: That's by no means am I repulsed by it.
- 15:27SPEAKER_04: I've bought some before.
- 15:29SPEAKER_04: I do enjoy it, it's just not at the top of my list.
- 15:32SPEAKER_04: It probably should have been drafted because I know that's that flavor is for someone and it should be on our board, but uh kind of in Collins mode as well.
- 15:41SPEAKER_03: Yeah, okay.
- 15:42SPEAKER_04: Really?
- 15:42SPEAKER_03: It's interesting, Blum.
- 15:43SPEAKER_03: I'm I'm interested because usually people are very polarized on it.
- 15:47SPEAKER_03: Usually it's one side or the other, you like it or you don't.
- 15:49SPEAKER_03: It's rare that you find somebody that's just kind of indifferent like you are, but I do think that could hurt my draft a little bit because there will be some people that see that on my board and say, Oh no, thank you.
- 15:59SPEAKER_03: But that's what I do.
- 16:00SPEAKER_03: I draft with integrity.
- 16:01SPEAKER_03: You know what I mean?
- 16:02SPEAKER_03: Some people accuse me of trying to stuff the ballots and pander.
- 16:05SPEAKER_03: That's not what I do.
- 16:06SPEAKER_03: I draft what Sean Boyle likes, and I'm a big mint chocolate chip guy.
- 16:10SPEAKER_04: Like I've always viewed that as like pineapple on pizza in terms of like the hot topic debate of like you either love it or you hate it.
- 16:17SPEAKER_03: I hate that you lumped me in with it.
- 16:19SPEAKER_01: It's a fair comparison.
- 16:21SPEAKER_01: It's a fair comparison.
- 16:22SPEAKER_00: I like both.
- 16:23SPEAKER_00: I feel like I'm I more often am seeing people who love it, and I feel like I'm an outcast because I'm not a mint enjoyer.
- 16:31SPEAKER_03: But let's hope the polls reflect that.
- 16:34SPEAKER_04: Alright, so I'm up for my second round pick.
- 16:37SPEAKER_04: Collins, you scared me with your novelty pick because I'm going a very similar lane with you, just a different flavor.
- 16:44SPEAKER_04: I'm going chocolate eclair.
- 16:47SPEAKER_00: It's a good one.
- 16:48SPEAKER_00: It's the little brother of the strawberry shortcake, yeah.
- 16:53SPEAKER_04: Depends who you ask.
- 16:55SPEAKER_00: It's a good, it's a very good pick.
- 16:59SPEAKER_00: I just think essentially the same thing.
- 17:01SPEAKER_00: Like it just, yeah.
- 17:03SPEAKER_00: One strawberry, one's chocolate.
- 17:04SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 17:05SPEAKER_04: I just think the strawberry just tastes a little too processed for me.
- 17:10SPEAKER_04: That's why I would prefer the chocolate eclair.
- 17:12SPEAKER_04: It has more of a just a natural chocolate taste, but I don't think you can go wrong with either one.
- 17:17SPEAKER_00: I really yeah, I like it a lot for sure.
- 17:20SPEAKER_00: I think that there are other um novelty items that use chocolate possibly in a arguably better way, but I I am very much a chocolate eclair fan.
- 17:33SPEAKER_00: You could put that right there with if I get a box of them, they're gone by Friday.
- 17:37SPEAKER_03: I don't know that I've ever had one of these, to be honest.
- 17:39SPEAKER_03: I know exactly what you're talking about, but I don't know that I've had the chocolate variety.
- 17:42SPEAKER_03: For some reason, I've always been around the strawberry, but never the chocolate.
- 17:45SPEAKER_03: I can't imagine I dislike it.
- 17:47SPEAKER_03: I'll say that.
- 17:48SPEAKER_03: It's hard to dislike, yeah.
- 17:51SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 17:52SPEAKER_02: Okay, Ryan.
- 17:54SPEAKER_02: So I'm up for two.
- 17:55SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 17:56SPEAKER_02: Number two pack.
- 17:57SPEAKER_02: I am going to go another steady, reliable, but always, always good.
- 18:04SPEAKER_02: When it's when it's elite, it's elite.
- 18:06SPEAKER_02: I'm gonna take chocolate chip cookie dough.
- 18:08unknown: Yeah.
- 18:09SPEAKER_02: I'll dip dip into the flavor variety, take chocolate chip cookie dough.
- 18:12SPEAKER_02: I feel like that is probably right around what should be next as far as a flavor, and it always hits.
- 18:19SPEAKER_02: So those chunks, nothing like it.
- 18:22SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 18:22SPEAKER_03: Uh cookie dough is a heavy hitter.
- 18:25SPEAKER_03: I would have been very surprised if it fell much further in this draft.
- 18:28SPEAKER_03: Definitely deserves a seat at the table, and I think the second round's probably apropos of where it should go.
- 18:34SPEAKER_04: Now I have a question, Brian.
- 18:35SPEAKER_04: You said you guys.
- 18:37SPEAKER_04: You said chocolate chip cook chocolate chip cookie dough, Ryan?
- 18:41SPEAKER_04: Or cookie dough?
- 18:42SPEAKER_02: Yeah, chocolate chip cookie dough.
- 18:43SPEAKER_04: Are those two different things?
- 18:44SPEAKER_04: Because they were two different things on my board.
- 18:47SPEAKER_02: What other kind of cookie dough would there be?
- 18:49SPEAKER_04: Well, just cookie dough and then chocolate chip cookie dough.
- 18:53SPEAKER_02: Like, well, am I wrong on this?
- 18:55SPEAKER_02: Cookie dough or like oatmeal raisin cookie dough?
- 18:57SPEAKER_02: Like what what other people are?
- 19:00SPEAKER_03: I'm sure there are two different two different varieties.
- 19:03SPEAKER_03: I'm only familiar with the chocolate chip variety of cookie dough as a pre-packaged flavor, but I'm sure you could find a normal cookie dough on its own.
- 19:11SPEAKER_03: I don't know if that pick will be allowable though.
- 19:13SPEAKER_00: I I feel like I have I've seen it called just cookie dough or they call it chocolate chip cookie dough, but it always consists of the same thing.
- 19:22SPEAKER_00: It's the cookie dough chunks with like some chocolate chips or chocolate chunks mixed in there with the vanilla ice cream.
- 19:30SPEAKER_00: I'm unfamiliar if there is just a straight-up ice cream that is just like cookie dough flavored.
- 19:38SPEAKER_04: Well, I'm I may be wrong.
- 19:40SPEAKER_04: I'm Googling in real time, and I can only find chocolate chip cookie dough, so I will hand up on this one and let's let's move on as we work.
- 19:48SPEAKER_00: There is a yeah.
- 19:50SPEAKER_00: Uh yeah, Ryan, I was I was thinking about taking this when I when I took cookies and cream because they're right up there neck and neck for me.
- 19:58SPEAKER_00: I didn't want to do the chocolate chip cookie dough right on the heels of the chip witch, so that's mainly the reason that I didn't, but really they're they're both right there to me.
- 20:07SPEAKER_02: For sure.
- 20:08SPEAKER_02: No, that's that's smart.
- 20:09SPEAKER_02: You had to diversify the portfolio there.
- 20:11SPEAKER_03: Um this is a big picture because I think your first two are pretty strong on that graphic.
- 20:17SPEAKER_02: I I appreciate that.
- 20:18SPEAKER_02: And I am I am stuck here, but I'm I'm gonna stick to my guns.
- 20:21SPEAKER_02: This is this is a treat, but I love it.
- 20:24SPEAKER_02: I'm gonna take a topping and I'm gonna take hot fudge.
- 20:27SPEAKER_02: I I love some hot fudge on the ice cream.
- 20:30SPEAKER_02: The temperature variation, the thickness, the sweetness, the chocolate contrast.
- 20:35SPEAKER_02: To me, it's it's the best topping.
- 20:37SPEAKER_02: None that I would I would choose before it.
- 20:38SPEAKER_02: So I'm going hot fudge.
- 20:40SPEAKER_02: Great pick.
- 20:41SPEAKER_04: Yep.
- 20:41SPEAKER_03: Heavy hitter in the topping walker.
- 20:44SPEAKER_04: Yep, that's my first as well.
- 20:45SPEAKER_04: Over the uh I feel like I thought you guys would have another top topping, but it's glad that we're all on the same page with that.
- 20:52SPEAKER_00: Many haters might point to like the fact that it will it may melt the entire dish.
- 20:59SPEAKER_00: I think that's a a feature, not a bug.
- 21:02SPEAKER_00: When it gets when the when the it gets a little bit soupy like that, I love it.
- 21:07SPEAKER_02: Oh, yeah.
- 21:08SPEAKER_03: I will say there this one does have a little main character syndrome as a topping.
- 21:12SPEAKER_03: You expect it to be a complimentary player.
- 21:14SPEAKER_03: There's a lot of give me the ball and clear out when the hot fudge enters the mix.
- 21:18SPEAKER_03: It does commandeer the entire dish.
- 21:21SPEAKER_03: So I avoid it, but I will say, in terms of toppings, I'm not gonna I'm not gonna eat around the fudge, you know what I mean?
- 21:27SPEAKER_03: It's well known and it's a it's a it's a big hitter in this space.
- 21:32SPEAKER_03: It's just I feel like it does have a lot of main character energy.
- 21:36SPEAKER_00: I might even let it accumulate at the bottom so that at the very end I get one big spoonful of chest fudge.
- 21:42SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah.
- 21:43SPEAKER_04: I was gonna say that's the best part from a at the bottom.
- 21:46SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 21:47SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 21:48SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 21:49SPEAKER_02: Glad glad we're on the same page here.
- 21:50SPEAKER_04: It's a good board, right?
- 21:52SPEAKER_02: So it's thank you.
- 21:53SPEAKER_04: It's a good time up, correct?
- 21:55SPEAKER_04: Yes.
- 21:56SPEAKER_04: All right, so I'm going to go with a ice cream shop order.
- 22:00SPEAKER_04: And I'm going to go with a good old-fashioned hot fudge sundae.
- 22:05SPEAKER_04: I love it.
- 22:05SPEAKER_04: I feel like it'll pop on the the graphic as well.
- 22:09SPEAKER_04: I haven't met anyone that hasn't liked a hot fudge sundae, so hopefully the the audience agrees with me.
- 22:14SPEAKER_03: Yep.
- 22:14SPEAKER_03: Classic.
- 22:15SPEAKER_03: This is this is uh we would be crazy if this didn't make its way into the draft.
- 22:20SPEAKER_03: Yeah, you can't really go wrong with a hot fudge Sunday.
- 22:22SPEAKER_02: Was my clear number two in that category for sure.
- 22:26SPEAKER_02: Unfortunate timing on the graphic.
- 22:28SPEAKER_02: I feel like one of us might get hurt by that being back to back.
- 22:31SPEAKER_02: Not sure who, but that's it's gonna be tough.
- 22:33SPEAKER_02: It's gonna be a tough look back to back.
- 22:35SPEAKER_00: Yeah, this was my number one in that in that particular category.
- 22:39SPEAKER_00: You cannot beat a hot fudge Sunday in my in my eyes.
- 22:42SPEAKER_00: You get to personalize the ice cream flavor if you want to.
- 22:48SPEAKER_00: Come on.
- 22:48SPEAKER_03: I will say it all ends up tasting like the fudge, though.
- 22:51SPEAKER_03: That's still my only complaint with it.
- 22:53SPEAKER_03: It's like you're just eating hot fudge at a certain point.
- 22:55SPEAKER_03: So I hate to pick I hate to pick Nits, but that is one little thing I would point out.
- 23:01SPEAKER_03: I'm gonna go with my order as well, and I don't know if this is a good strategy or not, because Collins doesn't have one, but Ryan and Blump do, but I'm hoping to maybe snake him out on this.
- 23:10SPEAKER_03: My go-to ice cream order is pretty consistently a peanut butter cup flurry.
- 23:15SPEAKER_03: I'm always a vanilla ice cream, peanut butter cup flurry.
- 23:19SPEAKER_03: You can't go wrong.
- 23:20SPEAKER_03: I think that that peanut butter with the vanilla, I don't even really need the chocolate necessarily.
- 23:25SPEAKER_03: It's a nice bonus, but that combination hits for me 10 times out of 10.
- 23:30SPEAKER_03: Dairy Queen, a little local joint, they do a nice one.
- 23:33SPEAKER_03: Um but really that is my go-to.
- 23:38SPEAKER_03: And it's also in a cup, it's clean.
- 23:41SPEAKER_03: There's not a ton of I'm not wearing it.
- 23:43SPEAKER_03: I don't feel like the fudge is on my mouth for the rest of the day.
- 23:47SPEAKER_03: It's not exactly good for you, but it's it's something that I feel I could walk away from without some battle scars.
- 23:53SPEAKER_02: When you say can agree, and I can envision what you're saying.
- 23:57SPEAKER_02: When you say flurry, like, is that a brand somewhere, or is that like I think that's what they're referred to at one of the establishments.
- 24:05SPEAKER_03: It's like a yeah, I don't know.
- 24:07SPEAKER_03: I think McDonald's will call it that.
- 24:08SPEAKER_01: Like a McFlurry McFlurry.
- 24:11SPEAKER_03: That's what I was thinking.
- 24:12SPEAKER_03: McDonald's.
- 24:14SPEAKER_03: I don't want that on my graphic.
- 24:15SPEAKER_03: I don't want McDonald's died to me.
- 24:17SPEAKER_00: But your but your local shop might also call it that, too, is my point.
- 24:20SPEAKER_00: They do, yes.
- 24:21SPEAKER_00: And got you.
- 24:22SPEAKER_00: Certainly.
- 24:25SPEAKER_00: Hey, to picks now, though.
- 24:28SPEAKER_00: Come on.
- 24:29SPEAKER_03: That's what I that's what I drafted.
- 24:31SPEAKER_03: That's what I drafted is a peanut butter cup crushed up and mixed in with vanilla ice cream at an ice cream shop.
- 24:37SPEAKER_03: You could say flurry.
- 24:38SPEAKER_03: I say I've I said flurry because I thought people would know what that meant, but basically, any peanut butter cup dispersed through vanilla ice cream at a made-to-order establishment is what I drafted.
- 24:48SPEAKER_03: Great.
- 24:49SPEAKER_04: That all has to go on the graphic board, Sean.
- 24:51SPEAKER_04: That entire sentence.
- 24:53SPEAKER_03: I'm gonna go TB cup flurry and hope people know what I meant.
- 24:58SPEAKER_00: Okay, so it's to me for two.
- 25:00SPEAKER_00: Uh, and that you all have menu items, so that would be silly of me.
- 25:05SPEAKER_00: So I suppose.
- 25:07SPEAKER_00: So I'm gonna do a topping and a flavor here.
- 25:11SPEAKER_00: I'll I'll start it off with the topping.
- 25:14SPEAKER_00: Uh, and this is the the picture of versatility.
- 25:18SPEAKER_00: Every single thing that has been drafted, and every single thing that will be drafted is made better by adding whipped cream on top of it.
- 25:27SPEAKER_00: This the one-one topping that you could possibly get.
- 25:32SPEAKER_00: The whipped cream, it's good on its own.
- 25:34SPEAKER_00: You get the little get the bottle and you just spray it, spray it right in your mouth.
- 25:38SPEAKER_00: Whipped cream is is the the proper, proper topping.
- 25:42SPEAKER_00: This I'll say it.
- 25:43SPEAKER_00: This is a polarizing pitch.
- 25:44SPEAKER_02: That's not the direction I thought you were gonna go with that.
- 25:46SPEAKER_02: Good whipped cream is really good.
- 25:48SPEAKER_02: Crappy whipped cream kind of sucks.
- 25:50SPEAKER_00: Yeah, no, disagree.
- 25:51SPEAKER_00: It's all good.
- 25:52SPEAKER_00: The the so like you're not like ready whip out of the can.
- 25:56SPEAKER_02: That's like probably around like the line, but I've had like worse whipped cream than that.
- 26:00SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
- 26:00SPEAKER_02: It's yeah, no, it's fine.
- 26:02SPEAKER_02: I'm versatility is right.
- 26:05SPEAKER_00: But listen, you you cannot there hot fudge sundae, you put your you got the whipped cream on top.
- 26:11SPEAKER_00: You want to tell me that Sean's Dairy Queen Blizzard doesn't go great with a little bit of whipped cream on top, you mix it in.
- 26:19SPEAKER_00: A whipped whipped cream is the the premier topping for ice cream.
- 26:23SPEAKER_04: So that's what I was gonna say.
- 26:24SPEAKER_04: I have never I've never put like just whipped cream on my ice cream without sprinkles, without hot fudge sundae.
- 26:32SPEAKER_04: Am I the only one in that where it just whipped cream has never been my single topping for a bowl of ice cream?
- 26:38SPEAKER_03: Yeah, that's a good way to frame it.
- 26:40SPEAKER_03: It's never a standalone topping for me, but I do agree it's good, it's very good, and it's non-offensive.
- 26:45SPEAKER_03: Like, I don't I kind of disagree with Ryan that bad whipped cream exists.
- 26:48SPEAKER_03: I've yet to run into any bad whipped cream.
- 26:51SPEAKER_03: I do think it's pretty unanimously just anytime it's around, I'm like, oh yeah, I enjoy it, but I don't necessarily disagree with you either, Blum.
- 26:58SPEAKER_03: I don't know that it's like it holds its own as a standalone topping.
- 27:02SPEAKER_03: But it's a good pick.
- 27:02SPEAKER_03: I mean, listen here, whipped cream is good and it's synonymous with ice cream.
- 27:05SPEAKER_03: I think that I think that had to be picked.
- 27:07SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it goes, it goes on everything.
- 27:09SPEAKER_00: I I absolutely, if I were I I bear I rarely do this anymore, but if I were to purchase a tub of ice cream from the store, scoop it out, put it in a bowl, I'm putting whipped cream on top of it.
- 27:21SPEAKER_02: Is there whipped cream in your fridge right now, Cole?
- 27:23SPEAKER_02: Absolutely.
- 27:23SPEAKER_02: You want me you want me to do it?
- 27:25SPEAKER_02: No, no, I was no, you don't have to prove it.
- 27:27SPEAKER_02: I believe you.
- 27:27SPEAKER_02: I was just asking.
- 27:30SPEAKER_03: He said, absolutely.
- 27:31SPEAKER_03: He sprays some of his mouth.
- 27:33SPEAKER_03: He's he's no stranger to whipped cream, apparently.
- 27:35SPEAKER_04: Sean.
- 27:36SPEAKER_02: I'm curious on the brand.
- 27:37SPEAKER_02: Ready whip?
- 27:38SPEAKER_04: Here's your clip, Sean.
- 27:39SPEAKER_04: Here's your uh viral clip.
- 27:40SPEAKER_02: There it is.
- 27:42SPEAKER_02: Talk about wearing it.
- 27:44SPEAKER_02: Oh my gosh, tastes even better that way.
- 27:46SPEAKER_02: Okay, that's fair.
- 27:47SPEAKER_02: And ready whip is like the baseline of like it's good.
- 27:50SPEAKER_02: There are like some elite ones.
- 27:52SPEAKER_02: Shout out to the Lando Lakes whipped cream that they make is like by far the best on the market if you can get your hands on it.
- 27:59SPEAKER_02: Call if you're unfamiliar next time.
- 28:01SPEAKER_02: That is the premier whipped cream brand.
- 28:03SPEAKER_00: Cool whip is solid, in my opinion.
- 28:06SPEAKER_00: Is Cool Whip the same as whipped cream?
- 28:09SPEAKER_00: No, but it's in the family.
- 28:10SPEAKER_00: It's whipped topping.
- 28:11SPEAKER_00: You get it on your board, yeah.
- 28:12SPEAKER_00: You get it, yeah.
- 28:13SPEAKER_00: I guess I guess that counts.
- 28:15SPEAKER_00: And and I guess what else?
- 28:17SPEAKER_00: My dog just heard it.
- 28:19SPEAKER_00: You get to give a little to the pup when she's gonna be a little bit more.
- 28:23SPEAKER_02: Lady loves it too.
- 28:25SPEAKER_00: That just adds to the allure of it.
- 28:27SPEAKER_00: The puppy gets a little skewed.
- 28:29SPEAKER_03: It's a shame Rue doesn't have a vote.
- 28:32SPEAKER_03: It would be it would have gone one-one if she did, if she had a so that's right.
- 28:36SPEAKER_03: It makes up it's the entire, it's the main course in a pup cup.
- 28:41SPEAKER_03: It is everything you need and more for a dog.
- 28:43SPEAKER_03: I do agree.
- 28:44SPEAKER_03: I think it's a good pick, Collins.
- 28:45SPEAKER_03: I think the topping category is kind of a weird one, anyway.
- 28:48SPEAKER_03: I think Hot Fudge was a clear pick.
- 28:50SPEAKER_03: I think whipped cream's a good pick.
- 28:53SPEAKER_00: I wait, I'm just gonna take another I have another pick.
- 28:57SPEAKER_03: Oh shit.
- 28:58SPEAKER_03: Oh shit.
- 28:58SPEAKER_03: I almost just picked a couple of things.
- 29:00SPEAKER_00: No, but but like you said, after Hot Fudge, uh I'm chasing sauces if I'm not taking whipped cream, and it's just so versatile, it literally goes on everything that's been drafted already.
- 29:10SPEAKER_00: So then I'm gonna move over to the flavor, and I'm having a hard time here.
- 29:14SPEAKER_00: I am I'm going to I'm I'm between like three, that's the difficult part.
- 29:20SPEAKER_00: It's not even like two.
- 29:23SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna go with a just to kind of round out my board, and because it's a flavor that I'm really kind of lacking at at present juncture, I'm gonna take like a brownie batter flavor of ice cream.
- 29:37SPEAKER_00: I don't have really any chocolate, and I need some type of chocolate representation.
- 29:43SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 29:44SPEAKER_00: A brownie batter, I mean, you can you put some whipped cream on it, it's really good.
- 29:49SPEAKER_00: And you can you can have it in the form of uh of Sean's pick, like a flurry, if it's all mixed up.
- 29:55SPEAKER_00: And uh yeah, brownie batter.
- 29:56SPEAKER_00: It's it's the best version of a chocolate ice cream to me.
- 30:00SPEAKER_00: And you get the the chunks of brownie in there with uh with the little fud ripple too.
- 30:06SPEAKER_00: So I'm I'm in on the brownie batter.
- 30:08SPEAKER_03: This is a classic case of death by chocolate in the best way possible.
- 30:12SPEAKER_03: When I get when you go chocolate ice cream down that route, you just gotta make it as chocolatey as possible.
- 30:18SPEAKER_03: And I think what you just said, Collins, it had you have a fan in me, and I've never even tried it.
- 30:23SPEAKER_03: I'm not familiar with this ice cream, but it sounds just phenomenal.
- 30:25SPEAKER_03: So good pick.
- 30:26SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I just have to look up to like if if there are brands that make it.
- 30:30SPEAKER_02: It looks like Tillamook makes it.
- 30:32SPEAKER_02: And I've heard their ice cream's pretty good.
- 30:33SPEAKER_02: I haven't bought it at the store.
- 30:34SPEAKER_00: But yeah, great pick.
- 30:36SPEAKER_00: I'd rather have this than like it might it might be more of one that if you're going to a ice cream shop that is that does like homemade stuff, they'll have something similar.
- 30:45SPEAKER_00: I like the the alliteration of the brownie batter, but there might just be like an a uh a brownie flavored ice cream, something with brownie bits in there and like uh chocolate sauce.
- 30:56SPEAKER_04: Yeah, there's a a brownie fudge swirl that uh Turkey Hill makes, that's pretty good.
- 31:01SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 31:02SPEAKER_04: But I mean, you can't go along with brownies, so I'm not gonna knock that pick.
- 31:06SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I'm really torn here.
- 31:07SPEAKER_03: I I don't know what to do.
- 31:10SPEAKER_03: I feel like Ryan won't take my topping, but I feel like there's enough versatility in the flavor department that I'm willing to wait on a few and have a couple come off the board that I'm gonna take my topping.
- 31:21SPEAKER_02: We only get one topping, right?
- 31:23SPEAKER_02: Yes, yeah, I already have mine.
- 31:25SPEAKER_03: Oh, do you does everybody have their topping?
- 31:27SPEAKER_03: I don't.
- 31:28SPEAKER_03: Okay, so I am gonna take my topping then.
- 31:31SPEAKER_03: You took Hot Fudge Sunday Bloom and Ryan took Hot Fudge.
- 31:34SPEAKER_02: That's where in my brain.
- 31:35unknown: Yeah.
- 31:36SPEAKER_03: I'm gonna take sprinkles.
- 31:38SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 31:38SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 31:39SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 31:39SPEAKER_03: I just feel like it's safe.
- 31:41SPEAKER_03: Am I in love with sprinkles?
- 31:43SPEAKER_03: No.
- 31:44SPEAKER_03: Am I offended by sprinkles?
- 31:45SPEAKER_03: Not at all.
- 31:46SPEAKER_03: I enjoy them, they're cute, they make the ice cream pop a little bit.
- 31:49SPEAKER_03: They're a classic, they've been around for seemingly forever.
- 31:52SPEAKER_03: I think sprinkles are a safe topping pick, especially because I just don't know what the rest of that board looks like.
- 31:57SPEAKER_02: Mm-hmm.
- 31:58SPEAKER_03: Yeah, it's very safe.
- 32:00SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I'm a texture guy.
- 32:02SPEAKER_02: I we keep sprinkles in the house.
- 32:04SPEAKER_02: Like, if we have ice cream out of the freezer, like I literally will put sprinkles on it every single time.
- 32:08SPEAKER_03: Like that was hard to get them, like Collins did.
- 32:12SPEAKER_02: Like, that is what I thought Collins was gonna do when he said universal, because to me, you can put sprinkles on any of these picks and it makes it better because you I just like the crunch.
- 32:20SPEAKER_02: So I think this is a great pick and great value at this stage.
- 32:23SPEAKER_02: Thank you.
- 32:23SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I'm shocked it wasn't taken earlier, regardless of how we feel about it, but just like the popularity of it.
- 32:29SPEAKER_04: I'm sure it's the most order topping that there is.
- 32:34SPEAKER_04: For sure.
- 32:34SPEAKER_02: I was between hot fudge and sprinkles with my pick, and I I think I took the right one, but like that's how much I like sprinkles.
- 32:40SPEAKER_03: We might need to get some 10 to 15 year olds in the voting process as well from this pick to really pop.
- 32:47SPEAKER_03: I think I think it would be disingenuous if nobody took sprinkles, so I'm happy to have it.
- 32:52SPEAKER_04: All right, so I'm up next.
- 32:53SPEAKER_04: Uh, so I'll be waiting on my topping now till the last pick.
- 32:57SPEAKER_04: So I'm going ice cream flavor.
- 33:00SPEAKER_04: Now, this is Rocky Road adjacent.
- 33:03SPEAKER_04: Uh, it could be another Death by a Thousand Flavors pick, but I'm going to go with Tinroof Sunday.
- 33:10SPEAKER_04: You got your fudge, your vanilla, chocolate covered peanuts.
- 33:13SPEAKER_04: Grew up on Tinroof Sunday.
- 33:15SPEAKER_04: That was always my dad's favorite ice cream going up, so I was around it a lot.
- 33:18SPEAKER_04: Um, another personal pick there with Tinroof Sunday.
- 33:21SPEAKER_03: Was Mr.
- 33:22SPEAKER_03: Blum making these at home?
- 33:23SPEAKER_03: I'm unfamiliar with the flavor.
- 33:24SPEAKER_03: I'm not familiar with this either.
- 33:25SPEAKER_03: It sounds good.
- 33:27SPEAKER_03: Really?
- 33:28SPEAKER_03: You you've never heard of it?
- 33:29SPEAKER_03: It sounds great.
- 33:30SPEAKER_03: It sounds great on everything you said that was in it.
- 33:32SPEAKER_03: I'll say that.
- 33:33SPEAKER_02: Bluebell, bluebell makes it.
- 33:34SPEAKER_02: I bet it that's good.
- 33:35SPEAKER_02: I'm shocked.
- 33:36SPEAKER_04: I thought it was like a very popular flavor.
- 33:39SPEAKER_03: No, I have a flavor that I'm worried is going to be the same exact reaction, Blum, because I don't know who's had it or who have who hasn't.
- 33:45SPEAKER_03: But I love what you said is in it.
- 33:47SPEAKER_03: So I I think you've got a you've got a new fan in me because I will be giving it a try.
- 33:52SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it sounds like an ice cream sundae, but pre-packaged.
- 33:55SPEAKER_04: Yeah, Turkey Hill makes a mean one, so I know that.
- 33:58SPEAKER_04: Sure.
- 34:00SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I'm definitely into that.
- 34:01SPEAKER_04: Awesome.
- 34:01SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 34:03SPEAKER_03: Good pick then.
- 34:04SPEAKER_03: I think flavors are kind of choose your own adventure.
- 34:07SPEAKER_03: I think we that's why I kind of waited on flavors because I feel like outside of the cop top couple, I feel like it's very up to the eye of the beholder.
- 34:15SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and I'm glad you opened this door, Bloom, because I wasn't sure if we were going like straight down the middle on flavors, but now that I know we're not, I'm I'm about to get crazy with it.
- 34:23SPEAKER_02: I think.
- 34:24SPEAKER_00: I might get crazy myself.
- 34:26SPEAKER_00: My next pick.
- 34:27SPEAKER_00: You already did brownie batter.
- 34:28SPEAKER_02: That was already my next pick.
- 34:30SPEAKER_02: If if we're going Tin Roof Sunday, like vibes, my next pick is gonna be chunky monkey.
- 34:37SPEAKER_02: I love Ben and Jerry's chunky monkey.
- 34:40SPEAKER_02: It might be my favorite ice cream in the entire freezer aisle.
- 34:44SPEAKER_02: What's it?
- 34:46SPEAKER_02: Banana ice cream with some dark chocolate chunks and walnuts.
- 34:51SPEAKER_02: That that that does it for me.
- 34:53SPEAKER_02: And I know it doesn't do it for everybody, it really does it for me.
- 34:55SPEAKER_02: So I'm a chunky monkey fan, that's why I'm I'm going.
- 34:58SPEAKER_03: I like it.
- 34:59SPEAKER_03: You might find yourself clipped where I might just clip I'm a chunky monkey and get rid of the fan part.
- 35:04SPEAKER_03: That's it, that's it's objective.
- 35:06SPEAKER_03: It's pretty funny, but I I like that you're picking from the heart.
- 35:10SPEAKER_02: Is anyone else familiar?
- 35:12SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's not for me.
- 35:13SPEAKER_00: I'm not a banana guy, but I have the utmost respect for each and every Ben and Jerry's flavor.
- 35:20SPEAKER_04: So yeah, I've had it once, very good.
- 35:22SPEAKER_04: I've just never been a consistent Ben and Jerry's buyer, but uh probably one of their best, most popular flavors, I would I would argue.
- 35:28SPEAKER_03: Okay, yeah, I don't know that I've had it, Ryan.
- 35:30SPEAKER_03: It sounds good, and I do I do enjoy bananas, so yeah.
- 35:34SPEAKER_02: It's excellent.
- 35:35SPEAKER_02: And then for my last flavor, I was going back and forth between two.
- 35:39SPEAKER_02: Based on the demographic of this group and of what I think the voters are gonna be, I'm gonna take the more kind of shiny one.
- 35:47SPEAKER_02: Mark Monera actually introduced me to this one.
- 35:49SPEAKER_02: Shout out, Mark, when we were in college.
- 35:51SPEAKER_02: I'm taking Turkey Hill Graham Slam.
- 35:53SPEAKER_02: Unbelievable.
- 35:56SPEAKER_02: Yep, yep, yep, yep.
- 35:58SPEAKER_02: All right, that that's all the vindication I needed was the faces you two just made.
- 36:01SPEAKER_02: I didn't think unbelievable flavor.
- 36:05SPEAKER_02: I mean, it's it's s'mores in an ice cream.
- 36:08SPEAKER_02: The the graham cracker pieces, the texture, oh my, it's insane.
- 36:12SPEAKER_02: And you and I haven't been able to buy it because I haven't lived in Turkey Hill Country in quite a long time.
- 36:17SPEAKER_02: So it makes me sad, but it was on my list in the top three.
- 36:21SPEAKER_02: I'm so glad I got it.
- 36:22SPEAKER_02: And it sounds like you two were Jones and for it too.
- 36:26SPEAKER_03: Yeah, in terms of just what I like as my favorite flavors, this one was very high on my list.
- 36:32SPEAKER_03: I don't know how well it's gonna play on the graphic because it's not national.
- 36:36SPEAKER_03: So I feel like there could be some people who have never heard of it and don't know what you're talking about.
- 36:40SPEAKER_03: And graham cracker flavored ice cream doesn't exactly sound enticing, but if you've had it, you know.
- 36:45SPEAKER_03: It's a ball knowers pick, and I'm a fan, I'm a big fan.
- 36:48SPEAKER_04: Yeah, that was my next pick, Ryan.
- 36:50SPEAKER_04: Um I cannot believe that was on anybody's radar to select.
- 36:56SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah.
- 36:56SPEAKER_00: No, I have a local place that does their own version of it.
- 36:59SPEAKER_00: It's in Gram Slam is classic, yeah.
- 37:02SPEAKER_00: Oh, shout out the local place.
- 37:04SPEAKER_00: What is it called?
- 37:05SPEAKER_00: Coventry Parlor?
- 37:06SPEAKER_03: Oh, sure.
- 37:10SPEAKER_00: Phenomenal, incredible stuff.
- 37:12SPEAKER_00: They actually serve Libby's ice cream, L-E-I-B-Y-S.
- 37:17SPEAKER_00: So I I I don't believe that they make their flavors in-house, but they put the love in it, and that's what really matters.
- 37:25SPEAKER_00: And just a phenomenal, phenomenal place.
- 37:28SPEAKER_00: Good for breakfast, good for lunch, and incredible for ice cream.
- 37:33SPEAKER_00: Go to Coventry Parlor if you're in the greater Potsdown area.
- 37:36SPEAKER_03: I think I've been for ice cream and breakfast with you at the Coventry Parlor, and it is a delight.
- 37:41SPEAKER_03: It's just a mom and pop.
- 37:42SPEAKER_03: It's exactly what you need.
- 37:43SPEAKER_03: They put the love in it.
- 37:44SPEAKER_03: I didn't know they had Graham Slam flavor, though.
- 37:47SPEAKER_03: That'll be my next item when I'm there.
- 37:49SPEAKER_03: Ryan, it was number two for me in terms of flavors.
- 37:51SPEAKER_03: I had it right behind Mr.
- 37:52SPEAKER_03: Uncle Chip.
- 37:53SPEAKER_03: So I was just waiting because I didn't think anybody else would have it.
- 37:56SPEAKER_03: So me and Bloom kind of got caught out there.
- 37:58SPEAKER_04: It's a great feeling, I will say.
- 38:00SPEAKER_04: All right, so I am up now.
- 38:02SPEAKER_04: I have one more flavor to draft.
- 38:04SPEAKER_04: I think I'm just gonna go.
- 38:06SPEAKER_04: We were talking 90 on the the black.
- 38:08SPEAKER_04: This is just a 95 fastball down the middle.
- 38:10SPEAKER_04: I'll take chocolate ice cream.
- 38:12SPEAKER_04: Yeah, like you can't go wrong with it.
- 38:14SPEAKER_04: It's I always go back and forth between vanilla and chocolate, but I mean, I think the rich chocolate taste is just you could it goes with anything.
- 38:23SPEAKER_04: Happy to get it here very late in draft.
- 38:25SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I I never ever find myself ordering just chocolate ice cream, it's always chocolate with something else, a la brownie, whatever, brownie fudge, brownie batter, what have you.
- 38:38SPEAKER_00: Maybe with there if there's a flavor with some peanut butter inside of the chocolate, then I'm in on that.
- 38:44SPEAKER_00: I'm never just ordering chocolate, unfortunately.
- 38:47SPEAKER_00: But I respect it as you know, everywhere you go is chocolate and vanilla.
- 38:52SPEAKER_03: So yep, I think it's another one.
- 38:54SPEAKER_03: Well, you you said it well.
- 38:56SPEAKER_03: It's a classic, it should be drafted.
- 38:59SPEAKER_03: It does do better independently than vanilla ice cream.
- 39:03SPEAKER_03: In my opinion, I think it's stands alone better.
- 39:05SPEAKER_03: But I I'm also with MC, where I'm not just go, I'm never going somewhere and saying, hey, can I just get the chocolate?
- 39:10SPEAKER_03: Can I get the house chocolate?
- 39:12SPEAKER_03: But also, it would be crazy if it wasn't picked.
- 39:15SPEAKER_03: So good.
- 39:18SPEAKER_04: I will say drafting vanilla would have been very on-brain for me.
- 39:21SPEAKER_04: So at the risk of avoiding that, I had I had a switch it up and then go chocolate at least.
- 39:27SPEAKER_03: Don't don't say that.
- 39:28SPEAKER_03: I I am torn between a few flavors here.
- 39:32SPEAKER_03: I need two flavors to round up my draft.
- 39:35SPEAKER_03: I'm gonna go with one that I hope everybody's familiar with.
- 39:38SPEAKER_03: I'm not so sure of the likability of it, but I'm a moose tracks fan.
- 39:42SPEAKER_03: I like moose tracks.
- 39:43SPEAKER_03: I think it's solid.
- 39:44SPEAKER_03: It it doesn't give you the overpowering of flavors, like we talked about with some of these, but there's just enough in there, especially if you get a good batch.
- 39:52SPEAKER_03: I think it does a it does the job for me, moose tracks.
- 39:54SPEAKER_00: Wow, this this I feel like is one that different places will call different things.
- 39:59SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 40:00SPEAKER_00: So is it essentially just like uh a chocolate fudge ripple within vanilla ice cream, or is there more to it than that?
- 40:09SPEAKER_03: That's what I typically am familiar with.
- 40:11SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that and I'm a I'm a huge fan of that.
- 40:13SPEAKER_02: Yes, like Google AI is telling me there's peanut butter cups in the floor.
- 40:17SPEAKER_02: There is peanut butter.
- 40:18SPEAKER_03: There's sometimes a peanut butter swirl, sometimes a peanut butter cup is what I but there's definitely always a fudge element.
- 40:23SPEAKER_03: So the one I'm familiar with is the Turkey Hill, and I believe that has peanut butter cups and fudge swirl.
- 40:30SPEAKER_03: And those to me, listen here, sign me up.
- 40:33SPEAKER_03: So yeah, there's a thing in here.
- 40:34SPEAKER_02: You you're a peanut butter cup guy.
- 40:35SPEAKER_02: I respect it.
- 40:36SPEAKER_03: Big peanut butter fan.
- 40:37SPEAKER_03: It's not even the chocolate part, it's really just the peanut butter aspect.
- 40:40SPEAKER_03: I love I love peanut butter and vanilla ice cream together.
- 40:42SPEAKER_03: It's great.
- 40:43SPEAKER_04: Yeah, that was on my board as well, Sean.
- 40:45SPEAKER_04: Chose chocolate over it because I feel like I needed something safe.
- 40:48SPEAKER_04: I've been going risk with my flavors, but uh that was a good pick.
- 40:52SPEAKER_03: Thank you.
- 40:53SPEAKER_03: I think chocolate's a better pick.
- 40:54SPEAKER_03: Like I was thinking about chocolate too, bomb.
- 40:56SPEAKER_00: So okay, then to round out my draft, I need my menu item or order and also another flavor.
- 41:04SPEAKER_00: I'm just I'm debating if I just go totally off the board for my flavor with something that nobody, no, none of you, nor any listeners likely will have ever heard of.
- 41:18SPEAKER_00: So while I debate that in the back of my head, I'm also gonna go ahead and debate my menu item.
- 41:24SPEAKER_00: Uh I'm I'm deciding here between two, both of which are drinkable, and I think I'm just gonna go with the milkshake.
- 41:36SPEAKER_00: If you if you need me, I'd like to just take milkshake.
- 41:39SPEAKER_00: If you need me to get more specific, I'll go with a black and white milkshake.
- 41:44SPEAKER_00: There what's the what what's the face about boy?
- 41:48SPEAKER_03: I don't know if milkshake's ex can you just go to an ice cream place and say, Can I have the milkshake?
- 41:53SPEAKER_00: You could go to Coventry Parlor and get a milkshake.
- 41:55SPEAKER_03: But the they get what do they give you without a flavor?
- 41:58SPEAKER_00: Without the flavor?
- 41:59SPEAKER_00: Alright, well then I'll then I'll take a black and white milkshake.
- 42:02SPEAKER_00: Okay, yeah.
- 42:03SPEAKER_03: You're totally right to pick whatever milkshake you want.
- 42:05SPEAKER_03: I was just saying, I don't know if you get all the milkshakes.
- 42:08SPEAKER_00: If that was the hang-up, then yeah, I'm gonna take the black and white milkshake.
- 42:11SPEAKER_00: Uh, you get, you know, Jerry Seinfeld called it the uh two different flavors living in harmony, with but he was talking about the black and white cookie in in that case, but absolutely pay plays for the black and white milkshake as well.
- 42:24SPEAKER_00: The hint of chocolate in there with the vanilla.
- 42:27SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and and who how could you possibly go wrong with milkshake?
- 42:30SPEAKER_00: It's a uh drinkable version of ice cream.
- 42:34SPEAKER_03: And let me just say this, Collins.
- 42:36SPEAKER_03: I made a face because I didn't know which one you were taking.
- 42:38SPEAKER_03: I think it's a phenomenal pick.
- 42:39SPEAKER_03: This was number two for me in terms of my order.
- 42:41SPEAKER_03: So if I didn't get the peanut butter cup, I was going milkshake.
- 42:45SPEAKER_03: I just think there's a lot to be said about not wearing the ice cream.
- 42:49SPEAKER_03: That's a big thing for me.
- 42:50SPEAKER_03: And while Ryan's mouth and elbows are covered in that melting hot swirl, I think you and I have done a good job of keeping ourselves clean.
- 42:59SPEAKER_03: Yeah, and I think the milkshake tastes so good.
- 43:01SPEAKER_03: Black and white, great pick, too.
- 43:03SPEAKER_03: I think I like that one a lot.
- 43:05SPEAKER_04: Thank you.
- 43:06SPEAKER_04: Yeah, it's a good pick.
- 43:07SPEAKER_04: Milkshake is great.
- 43:08SPEAKER_04: Uh very surprising just how many establishments are pumping them out now, like Chick-fil-A, Fod Guys.
- 43:15SPEAKER_04: Probably two of my favorite milkshakes are from those two places.
- 43:18SPEAKER_04: Like they are phenomenal.
- 43:20SPEAKER_03: Wow.
- 43:21SPEAKER_03: Any recommendations of them?
- 43:23SPEAKER_03: I'm unfamiliar.
- 43:26SPEAKER_00: I you really can't.
- 43:28SPEAKER_04: Vanilla.
- 43:28SPEAKER_04: I just do vanilla, vanilla milkshake.
- 43:30SPEAKER_00: At which which one at co at uh Chick-fil-A?
- 43:34SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I think I prefer five guys to Chick-fil-A.
- 43:37SPEAKER_00: I think I prefer five guys milkshakes at Chick-fil-A to give a quick callback to a previous pick of mine.
- 43:43SPEAKER_00: They do a prime cookies and cream milkshake, though.
- 43:47SPEAKER_00: Their cookies and cream milkshake is incredible.
- 43:50SPEAKER_00: But yeah, five guys vanilla milkshake, where I don't know that they do the black and white, but if they do, boy.
- 43:56SPEAKER_00: But yeah, a vanilla milkshake from five guys, very, very good.
- 43:59SPEAKER_00: So So yeah, my pick is the black and white because we're inclusive.
- 44:04SPEAKER_00: So that brings me to my flavor.
- 44:07SPEAKER_00: And I think I'm just gonna keep it between the lines here and go with one that I find myself ordering quite a bit, and that's the birthday cake flavor.
- 44:20SPEAKER_01: That was my last one.
- 44:22SPEAKER_00: Damn it.
- 44:22SPEAKER_00: Birthday cake or cake batter, some places may call it.
- 44:26SPEAKER_00: It is just how they get it to taste so much actually like a cake, I will never understand.
- 44:33SPEAKER_00: Sometimes at certain places, you'll get little bits of actual cake inside the ice cream, which is it just incredible.
- 44:41SPEAKER_00: So yeah, I'm I'm a big fan of the birthday cake flavor.
- 44:44SPEAKER_02: Birthday cake has a tremendously high ceiling, like it's always gonna be good, but when it's really good, it is proper.
- 44:51SPEAKER_02: The cake mix in there, the the frosting swirl in there, and then the sprinkles in there.
- 44:57SPEAKER_02: If you're getting if you get all three, yeah, I mean it doesn't get much better than that.
- 45:02SPEAKER_03: So I I like the pick.
- 45:04SPEAKER_03: He stole it right from me.
- 45:05SPEAKER_03: That was my last pick.
- 45:06SPEAKER_03: I had it, I had it on my board.
- 45:08SPEAKER_03: I was about to circle it.
- 45:09SPEAKER_03: Finally got my revenge for the chip, which that one hurts because I really thought I wanted something sweet to close out the draft because I had been living in the chocolatey vanilla world where it's you know between the mustard and the mayo, so to speak.
- 45:23SPEAKER_03: I haven't really ventured out in anything too fruity.
- 45:26SPEAKER_03: And I think the cake batter does a good job of kind of that.
- 45:28SPEAKER_03: It's a sweeter, different taste than the rest of the ice creams we talked about.
- 45:32SPEAKER_03: So you've you've left me with one that's another safe one, I think.
- 45:36SPEAKER_03: It's nobody's favorite, but it's a classic, and I do enjoy it.
- 45:40SPEAKER_03: I think anybody who says they don't enjoy it's lying to themselves.
- 45:42SPEAKER_03: If you it's never anybody's first order, but if you get a scoop of it, you're gonna you're gonna eat it.
- 45:47SPEAKER_03: And it's strawberry for me.
- 45:48SPEAKER_03: I think strawberry is a non-offensive, good ice cream.
- 45:51SPEAKER_03: It it's in the Neapolitan, it's one of the heavy, it's one of the three musketeers of the industry.
- 45:57SPEAKER_03: So I mean, I'll let I'll let that speak for itself as my last round pick.
- 46:01SPEAKER_04: I will say there are a few things better when you take a spoonful of strawberry ice cream and you get a nice chunk of uh frozen strawberry in that spoonful.
- 46:10SPEAKER_04: Phenomenal delicacy.
- 46:11SPEAKER_02: It's a delicacy blum.
- 46:13SPEAKER_02: I love strawberry ice cream with you have some chocolate sprinkles on there.
- 46:17SPEAKER_02: That that is my play.
- 46:19SPEAKER_03: Guess who has sprinkles?
- 46:22SPEAKER_00: You should have said hot pot ride.
- 46:26SPEAKER_00: I hate I hate to disagree with Blum.
- 46:29SPEAKER_00: I do not like the chunks of uh cream.
- 46:32SPEAKER_00: I love I love the strawberry ice cream, but what turns me off is I'll always take a peek inside the glass just to make sure there's no strawberry chunks in there because that's a turn off for me.
- 46:44SPEAKER_00: But otherwise, I love it.
- 46:46SPEAKER_03: I think a strawberry milkshake then solves that problem, Colin.
- 46:49SPEAKER_03: So you're always gonna tell you that.
- 46:50SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I was gonna say soft serve.
- 46:52SPEAKER_02: Strawberry soft serve can be very good too.
- 46:55SPEAKER_04: All right, so I'm up for my last pick in the topping category.
- 46:59SPEAKER_04: So I'm gonna start this.
- 47:01SPEAKER_04: I'm gonna start granular, and if you guys need me to narrow it down more, I will.
- 47:06SPEAKER_04: But I'm gonna go with crushed cookies as my topping.
- 47:11SPEAKER_00: I think that's gonna be gonna have to be narrowed down.
- 47:14SPEAKER_00: Let's chisel it down just a bit.
- 47:16SPEAKER_03: Let's chisel it down just a bit.
- 47:18SPEAKER_03: Crushed Christmas cookies, everyone that we make for the exchange, you're just chopping them up and eating them.
- 47:23SPEAKER_03: No, let's get specific.
- 47:25SPEAKER_02: Yeah, sugar cookies from the cookout.
- 47:27SPEAKER_02: Definitely not those.
- 47:29SPEAKER_01: Definitely not those.
- 47:33SPEAKER_04: Yeah, not those, but I'll go I'll go crushed Oreos.
- 47:36SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah, that's the right choice.
- 47:38SPEAKER_00: That's a good move there, Bum.
- 47:40SPEAKER_00: Thank you.
- 47:40SPEAKER_00: Good toping.
- 47:41SPEAKER_00: It's almost as good as the cookies and cream flavor.
- 47:43SPEAKER_00: Like, that's how good it is.
- 47:44SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 47:45unknown: Yep.
- 47:45SPEAKER_03: So happy to get that with my my last pick.
- 47:47SPEAKER_03: Good job, Bum.
- 47:48SPEAKER_03: I like that.
- 47:49SPEAKER_03: That was one of my four toppings I wrote down.
- 47:51SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 47:52SPEAKER_03: I have this is the last pick, right?
- 47:54SPEAKER_03: Yes, miss Mr.
- 47:55SPEAKER_03: or Mrs.
- 47:56SPEAKER_03: Irrelevant here.
- 47:57SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 47:57SPEAKER_02: Can I clarification question?
- 47:59SPEAKER_02: Can I take something that technically is like a throwback thing that isn't made anymore?
- 48:04SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 48:05SPEAKER_03: Sure.
- 48:07SPEAKER_02: Yeah, you could I like that framing.
- 48:09SPEAKER_02: Because this is my novelty item off the truck.
- 48:11SPEAKER_02: I know where you're going, and I it's on my list.
- 48:14SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 48:14SPEAKER_02: Is it on the board?
- 48:15SPEAKER_02: Like, can I take it?
- 48:16SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 48:16SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 48:17SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 48:17SPEAKER_02: So there was nothing better back in the day than getting a Chaco Taco off the truck.
- 48:21SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 48:21SPEAKER_02: I mean, it's unbelievable.
- 48:22SPEAKER_02: Unbelievable.
- 48:23SPEAKER_02: I've no not a clue why they stopped making these things.
- 48:26SPEAKER_02: In my opinion, I didn't realize Klondike is the company that made them.
- 48:29SPEAKER_02: I think Klondike bars stink.
- 48:31SPEAKER_02: But Choco Tacos are awesome.
- 48:33SPEAKER_02: And the Klondike thing might be controversial.
- 48:35SPEAKER_02: Choco Taco is a zillion times better product than a Klondike bar, in my opinion.
- 48:39SPEAKER_02: So I if if I if you guys will allow it, I will gladly take that as my last pick.
- 48:43SPEAKER_03: Definitely think it's allowable.
- 48:45SPEAKER_00: It would be disingenuous for me to not allow it because I was planning on taking it if I if it came.
- 48:52SPEAKER_00: Yeah, no, I will I love the Chaco Taco.
- 48:55SPEAKER_03: It's phenomenal.
- 48:56SPEAKER_03: It's a good, it's one of the best novelty picks there there could be.
- 48:59SPEAKER_03: I will stop short of saying there's nothing better like you did, because a chip witch is undeniably fairly much and the and the Eclair, but but it's for sure a good pick.
- 49:14SPEAKER_04: And I will say, just to pile on Klondike to Ryan's point, there is not a more poorly constructed ice cream sandwich where you take one bite and all of a sudden you're just holding like a ball of ice cream because it just falls apart.
- 49:28SPEAKER_01: It's not a good product.
- 49:29SPEAKER_00: It just isn't good.
- 49:30SPEAKER_00: I do prefer the Klondike bar to the traditional ice cream sandwich, but the it it is falls apart in an instant.
- 49:40SPEAKER_00: There's no doubt about that.
- 49:41SPEAKER_03: The traditional ice cream sandwich stinks.
- 49:44SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 49:44SPEAKER_03: It's horrible.
- 49:45SPEAKER_03: It's dry, chalky, sticks to the top.
- 49:48SPEAKER_03: Your fingers are not the same for a week.
- 49:51SPEAKER_03: It's it's really not good.
- 49:53SPEAKER_03: I'm not a fan of those.
- 49:54SPEAKER_03: And I feel like I was at one point in my life when I didn't know any better, and that that was like my introduction into the in the industry.
- 50:01SPEAKER_01: My parents give me a nostalgia factor there.
- 50:03SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 50:04SPEAKER_01: But it's a birthday party.
- 50:06SPEAKER_00: It's a fifth fifth birthday party.
- 50:09SPEAKER_03: Yes.
- 50:10SPEAKER_03: When kids still have raccoon taste palettes, that's what you feed them.
- 50:14SPEAKER_03: You know what I mean?
- 50:15SPEAKER_03: Pump them full of those.
- 50:16SPEAKER_03: And then when you have a chip witch, it's like, well, mom and dad didn't show me what a chipwitch was.
- 50:21SPEAKER_03: Hold on, hold on.
- 50:22SPEAKER_03: All right, boys.
- 50:23SPEAKER_03: Let's go through honorable mentions and then we'll recap our boards.
- 50:25SPEAKER_03: So make sure you have them ready to go.
- 50:27SPEAKER_03: I've got a plethora of honorable mentions.
- 50:29SPEAKER_03: I'll go in order.
- 50:30SPEAKER_03: So we'll go in order of the draft.
- 50:31SPEAKER_03: Ryan, any honorable mentions?
- 50:33SPEAKER_00: Oh well, do we want to just go category?
- 50:36SPEAKER_03: We go by category, yeah.
- 50:37SPEAKER_00: Okay, let's do flavors first.
- 50:39SPEAKER_00: We'll just spit them out.
- 50:40SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 50:41SPEAKER_02: So the one I was going back and forth between I love pistachio ice cream.
- 50:45SPEAKER_02: So if I didn't take Graham Slam, I was gonna take pistachio, but that I know that's controversial.
- 50:49SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 50:50SPEAKER_03: Would have shades of Tom Brady in that famous it was avocado and pistachio ice cream that he was allowing himself like a tablespoon of when he was on that TB12 diet.
- 51:01SPEAKER_03: So I've never really given it a fair fair shake, but I'm sure it's fine.
- 51:05SPEAKER_03: I do enjoy pistachios.
- 51:06SPEAKER_03: Uh butter pecan I had on there.
- 51:09unknown: Yeah.
- 51:09SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 51:09SPEAKER_04: The only other one I'll add, and this is was a little too niche for me to draft it, actually a flavor that I've mentioned on this very program, and that's the banana pudding flavored ice cream at Trader Joe's.
- 51:20SPEAKER_03: Oh you turned me on to that.
- 51:22SPEAKER_03: And boy, those little Nilla wafers that they put in there, uh delightful.
- 51:26SPEAKER_03: The only other flavor I had on my list was coffee, which again could be a divisive pick.
- 51:32SPEAKER_03: I thought one of you guys were gonna take coffee for sure.
- 51:35SPEAKER_03: I was between coffee and strawberry, but I went with strawberry because it was just a little bit more different than the rest of my board.
- 51:40SPEAKER_03: I felt like coffee kind of fit right in with that chocolatey, you know.
- 51:43SPEAKER_03: Sure.
- 51:44SPEAKER_03: Whatever.
- 51:44SPEAKER_03: But I I do enjoy it.
- 51:46SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I had a few salted caramel is a go-to.
- 51:50SPEAKER_00: I love uh uh anything caramel like with caramel inside of it is awesome.
- 51:55SPEAKER_00: Peanut butter, same vein.
- 51:56SPEAKER_00: I love peanut butter and ice cream, it's a great combo.
- 51:59SPEAKER_00: If you're sensing a theme here, I just love ice cream.
- 52:03SPEAKER_00: The one that I had that I was thinking about just going off of the entire planet here is called Kohler's Cream Donut.
- 52:12SPEAKER_00: So it's only available at the uh ice cream shop called Sunday Best, located in Avalon, New Jersey.
- 52:18SPEAKER_00: They actually have two locations now, and so there is actually a donut shop in Avalon called Kohler's, and they are famous for their cream donuts, and they uh they're tremendous cream donuts, uh, vanilla cream, and they it's very, very sweet, very sugary.
- 52:37SPEAKER_00: The ice cream shop essentially just takes these cream donuts and mashes them up and puts them inside of vanilla ice cream, and it is just an amazing ice cream flavor.
- 52:48SPEAKER_00: Sounds phenomenal.
- 52:49SPEAKER_00: Yeah, sound good.
- 52:51SPEAKER_03: It sounds like it's worthwhile to travel to, actually.
- 52:54SPEAKER_03: In fact, to the to the shore.
- 52:56SPEAKER_00: If you ever have a reason to get down to the Jersey Shore for whatever reason that might be, could be any reason.
- 53:01SPEAKER_00: Get yourself get yourself uh Kohler's cream donut, but yeah, that's it for flavors.
- 53:07SPEAKER_03: What about toppings in the world of toppings?
- 53:10SPEAKER_03: I had crushed peanuts as I I like I said, I love the taste of peanuts with vanilla ice cream in particular, and then hot caramel.
- 53:17SPEAKER_03: I think that's a good one as well.
- 53:18SPEAKER_02: I had caramel, yep, for sure.
- 53:20SPEAKER_04: Yeah, chop nuts and yeah, caramel too.
- 53:23SPEAKER_02: Yeah, do I have any do I have any wet walnut appreciators here?
- 53:27SPEAKER_02: Uh I'm married to an appreciator.
- 53:29SPEAKER_02: I love love the wet walnuts.
- 53:32SPEAKER_02: The my ideal is hot fudge and wet walnuts.
- 53:36SPEAKER_02: Sure.
- 53:36SPEAKER_00: Wow.
- 53:37SPEAKER_00: Uh butterscotch like sauce or yeah, butterscotch is is definitely really good.
- 53:43SPEAKER_00: Um there's another topping that I've actually only ever really seen at Kiwi, I believe.
- 53:49SPEAKER_00: Kiwi frozen yogurt, but the topping itself is we gotta do a count on this episode.
- 53:54SPEAKER_02: Can there be a clip of just like Collins like some niche specific ice cream parlor mentions?
- 54:00SPEAKER_02: There's gotta be seven of them at this point.
- 54:03SPEAKER_00: He's an absolute ball mower.
- 54:05SPEAKER_00: Kiwi's very mainstream.
- 54:07SPEAKER_00: They they have it's essentially like a melted down Nestle's crunch, and you sort of scoop it out.
- 54:14SPEAKER_00: They it's a self-serve topping situation at Kiwi.
- 54:18SPEAKER_00: And yeah, it's like so you have it's like sort of just like melted chocolate, it's not really warm, it's like room temperature.
- 54:26SPEAKER_00: Um, but it's sort of a melted uh chocolate bar, and then it has like the Nestle's crunch little like rice crispy things in there.
- 54:33SPEAKER_00: That's a great topping.
- 54:34SPEAKER_00: Way too niche.
- 54:35SPEAKER_00: And again, I've never actually seen it at a ice cream place.
- 54:39SPEAKER_00: It's that's frozen yogurt, so it doesn't even count.
- 54:42SPEAKER_03: Well, it would have would have kind of it sounds really good.
- 54:45SPEAKER_02: I would put that a shot, yeah.
- 54:47SPEAKER_02: I like uh I'm a Heath Bar fan as well.
- 54:50SPEAKER_02: A little toffee.
- 54:51SPEAKER_02: Sure, sure.
- 54:52SPEAKER_02: Heath bar is an underrated bar for sure.
- 54:54SPEAKER_02: That's a whole lot of the same vein peanut.
- 54:56SPEAKER_02: I mean peanut butter sauce, like a hot, you know, peanut butter topping type situation too.
- 55:00SPEAKER_03: Peanut butter sauce, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 55:02SPEAKER_03: Anything else in terms of orders?
- 55:05SPEAKER_04: Banana split.
- 55:07SPEAKER_04: That was surprised.
- 55:09SPEAKER_04: Yeah, that no one took that.
- 55:11SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 55:12SPEAKER_04: Classic.
- 55:12SPEAKER_03: It's not I'm never ordering it first, but it it was one of my four I wrote down because it's just a classic.
- 55:17SPEAKER_00: So the one that I was deciding between this or or the milkshake, also drinkable.
- 55:23SPEAKER_00: I I was really considering a root beer float.
- 55:25SPEAKER_00: I'm a big fan of float.
- 55:27SPEAKER_00: I didn't think it would really uh capture the audience as much as a milkshake is is just a straight and narrow pick.
- 55:35SPEAKER_00: But I I do love a root beer float.
- 55:37SPEAKER_00: Uh the the soda kind of does most of the talking in that, though, I have to say.
- 55:41SPEAKER_00: So um it's less it's less about the ice cream, but a root beer float is is incredible.
- 55:48SPEAKER_00: Sorry, go ahead.
- 55:49SPEAKER_02: No, you go ahead.
- 55:50SPEAKER_02: Would a would a brownie or like a chocolate chip cookie sundae be like a different thing than a hot fudge sundae?
- 55:56SPEAKER_02: I had those down as well.
- 55:58SPEAKER_03: Well, the only yeah, I think it is, but the only problem is once you put the hot fudge on, that's all you're eating.
- 56:03SPEAKER_02: So okay, we get it.
- 56:06SPEAKER_03: I just put that draft down a bit.
- 56:08SPEAKER_00: The category simply was not deep enough to get to this.
- 56:12SPEAKER_00: Maybe if we had to do two menu items a piece, but I also had written down just as a break glass in case of emergency, a Wendy's Frosty.
- 56:20SPEAKER_03: I thought about that too.
- 56:23SPEAKER_03: It deserves a mention for sure.
- 56:24SPEAKER_03: You know, it's it's a classic.
- 56:26SPEAKER_03: The junior frosty, I feel like it's just free.
- 56:28SPEAKER_03: I think they just give those out for the spirit of it.
- 56:30SPEAKER_03: I'm not even sure they charge.
- 56:33SPEAKER_03: When you think Wendy's, you think frosty.
- 56:35SPEAKER_03: When you think pigtails, you think frosty.
- 56:37SPEAKER_03: So I think that's fry in there.
- 56:39SPEAKER_03: Put the fry in there, yeah, sure.
- 56:41SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I I was never a fry in the frosty guy, and then I did try it, and I was like, well, this is actually way better than I was expecting.
- 56:48SPEAKER_03: So you can't knock it.
- 56:50SPEAKER_03: And then lastly, what else did we have in the novelty category?
- 56:54SPEAKER_03: The one big one for me that I thought would have been picked was the drumstick.
- 56:57SPEAKER_00: I thought the drumstick was a drumstick or like a nutty buddy is sort of in the same family as a drumstick, I guess, right?
- 57:04SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 57:04SPEAKER_02: Uh in that same family of the ones that you guys were taking, I actually really like the toasted almond bar.
- 57:10SPEAKER_02: Like it, it's the the the yellow version of the other two that you guys were talking about.
- 57:16SPEAKER_02: I I am an enjoyer of that.
- 57:17SPEAKER_02: I know not everyone is, but I think it's good.
- 57:20SPEAKER_03: I also had the Snickers ice cream.
- 57:22SPEAKER_03: You know, though.
- 57:22SPEAKER_03: I did two, yeah.
- 57:24SPEAKER_03: I was more lethal because I think I could put down six.
- 57:29SPEAKER_00: I I I was gonna say the same exact thing about the Twix version.
- 57:33SPEAKER_00: Twix ice cream bar makes it a really good one.
- 57:36SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 57:36SPEAKER_00: They're both good.
- 57:37SPEAKER_03: Well done.
- 57:38SPEAKER_03: Wait a minute.
- 57:39SPEAKER_03: It's hard to take a world-class candy bar and mobilize it into a world-class ice cream treat, and I think they both stickers and Twix did a good job.
- 57:48SPEAKER_03: That's all.
- 57:49SPEAKER_04: Yeah, sibling to the uh the Chip Witch MM puts out a pretty good product of just MMs instead of chocolate chips for the Chip Witches.
- 57:57SPEAKER_04: I grew up on those, those are phenomenal.
- 57:59SPEAKER_04: Just a giant blue box, 24-pack.
- 58:01SPEAKER_04: You can go through them in like a week.
- 58:03SPEAKER_05: For sure.
- 58:05SPEAKER_03: I also think they do a good job with the ice cream in those, Bloom.
- 58:07SPEAKER_03: It's a nice little, it's a nice vanilla ice cream they have in there.
- 58:10SPEAKER_00: Yeah, definitely.
- 58:11SPEAKER_00: Last one I had were how do you are you guys familiar with dibs?
- 58:15SPEAKER_00: They're little popable dibs, they're like covered in could be could just be glain chocolate or like uh the Nestle's crunch chocolate on the outside, little tiny ice cream cubes.
- 58:29SPEAKER_00: You could pop, I could pop a hundred of those things.
- 58:31SPEAKER_02: When I think when I think of dibs, I think of like in middle school when they came out and they were in the movie theaters.
- 58:36SPEAKER_02: Like the movie theaters would say call it was like a big thing.
- 58:40SPEAKER_03: Shot that would those were the days, you know.
- 58:42SPEAKER_03: Going into the movies, dibs were on top of mind.
- 58:45SPEAKER_03: Now it's now what's the world come to?
- 58:48SPEAKER_03: We have we haven't thought about dibs in two decades.
- 58:50SPEAKER_03: No, I haven't.
- 58:50SPEAKER_03: I I I like that shout-out, Collins.
- 58:53SPEAKER_03: That was that's a good one.
- 58:54SPEAKER_03: I didn't have that on my oh, I have a question.
- 58:56SPEAKER_01: Where would dippin' dots have fallen anywhere on this?
- 58:59SPEAKER_00: Ice cream of the future.
- 59:02SPEAKER_00: I would I could novelty.
- 59:04SPEAKER_00: I would have given it to you as a novelty, yeah.
- 59:06SPEAKER_02: Novelty, yeah.
- 59:07SPEAKER_02: Just curious.
- 59:08SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it wouldn't have been a good pick.
- 59:10SPEAKER_03: No, it would have been dog shit.
- 59:12SPEAKER_03: It was cool when it came out because it was reinventing the wheel, but it's just not as good.
- 59:17SPEAKER_00: It's just but then you yeah, then you turn 11 and you're like, oh wait, why don't I just get actual ice cream?
- 59:23SPEAKER_03: Yeah, there's always like the miscellaneous one too that sneaks out and melts, and you think it's like a cleaner product, it's not, it'll sneak up on you.
- 59:30SPEAKER_03: Uh, did anybody have anything else, or should we get into our lists before we go?
- 59:34SPEAKER_03: That's all I got.
- 59:35SPEAKER_03: No, all right, Ryan.
- 59:37SPEAKER_03: Start us off.
- 59:37SPEAKER_03: Read your picks first to sixth.
- 59:40SPEAKER_02: Okay, so I'll try to remember the order here.
- 59:42SPEAKER_02: I went vanilla chocolate, soft serve, swirl in a cone with rainbow sprinkles.
- 59:46SPEAKER_02: I don't know how I'm gonna fit that on the graphic, but that's what that's what I picked.
- 59:49SPEAKER_02: Hot topping is hot fudge.
- 59:52SPEAKER_02: Then I went cookie dough ice cream flavor, then I went chunky monkey, graham slam, and the chaco taco to close out.
- 1:00:02SPEAKER_03: It's a strong board.
- 1:00:04SPEAKER_04: Thank you.
- 1:00:05SPEAKER_04: So my first pick I went with Rocky Road flavor ice cream.
- 1:00:10SPEAKER_04: Second round pick was my chocolate eclair on a stick for my novelty item.
- 1:00:15SPEAKER_04: Third round pick was a hot fudge Sunday uh for ice cream order.
- 1:00:19SPEAKER_04: Fourth and fifth round picks was Tin Roof Sunday and chocolate ice cream, and then my last round pick was crushed Oreos for my topping.
- 1:00:28SPEAKER_04: I'm just realizing I have chocolate in every single one of those picks.
- 1:00:31SPEAKER_04: So hopefully, Sean, your audience enjoys themselves some chocolate.
- 1:00:35SPEAKER_03: I feel like who amongst us doesn't?
- 1:00:38SPEAKER_03: So I don't I don't think that's if you had like an outrageous flavor in all those picks, I think that'd be a problem.
- 1:00:43SPEAKER_03: Chocolate, I don't I don't think you have any issues.
- 1:00:45SPEAKER_03: I went first with a chip witch, and then I took mint chocolate chip as a flavor.
- 1:00:50SPEAKER_03: My order was a peanut butter cup flurry blizzard, whatever you want to refer to it as.
- 1:00:55SPEAKER_03: My toppings were sprinkles, and then I rounded it out with moose tracks and strawberry flavors.
- 1:01:01SPEAKER_04: Good variety there for the taste buds.
- 1:01:04SPEAKER_04: Thank you.
- 1:01:05SPEAKER_00: Diverse portfolio.
- 1:01:06SPEAKER_00: Drafting from the four spot, I I took first round cookies and cream, the ever reliable.
- 1:01:15SPEAKER_00: Uh, as my novelty, and to start off the second round, I went with a strawberry shortcake, cake pop on a stick, if you will.
- 1:01:23SPEAKER_00: And then next time it got back to me, I went with the uh whipped cream topping, the ever so delicious whipped cream topping.
- 1:01:33SPEAKER_00: You can just pop it right out of the can if you'd like.
- 1:01:35SPEAKER_00: Follow that up, followed that up with the uh brownie batter flavor.
- 1:01:41SPEAKER_00: I felt as though I was severely lacking chocolate.
- 1:01:44SPEAKER_00: And then I built on my lack of chocolate with a black and white milkshake when it came back to me, and then finished things off with the birthday cake flavor.
- 1:01:54SPEAKER_03: I think we all did a good job.
- 1:01:56SPEAKER_03: It's got me in the mood for some ice cream.
- 1:01:58SPEAKER_03: I wanted to get this draft in while it was still appropriate in the months of summer here.
- 1:02:01SPEAKER_03: I feel like this is a good time.
- 1:02:03SPEAKER_03: Ice cream's top of mind for many.
- 1:02:04SPEAKER_03: I'm not an ice cream guy in the winter months.
- 1:02:06SPEAKER_03: Are you guys?
- 1:02:07SPEAKER_03: Are you guys your rounders?
- 1:02:09SPEAKER_03: Not really.
- 1:02:10SPEAKER_03: It's it's difficult.
- 1:02:13SPEAKER_00: Good for you.
- 1:02:14SPEAKER_00: I replace it with many other desserts.
- 1:02:16SPEAKER_00: We could do a straight-up desserts draft if we want to.
- 1:02:18SPEAKER_03: Hey, that's in that's in the mix for later.
- 1:02:21SPEAKER_03: That will be that will be talked about at a later date.
- 1:02:24SPEAKER_03: But I I think ice cream needs its own spot.
- 1:02:27SPEAKER_03: There's certainly more than enough for us to get through six rounds of picks.
- 1:02:30SPEAKER_03: So thank you, boys, for joining me.
- 1:02:33SPEAKER_03: Thank you, Shu.
- 1:02:34SPEAKER_03: Thank you, Sean.
- 1:02:35SPEAKER_03: Listeners, as always, the poll will be out next week.
- 1:02:38SPEAKER_03: So go ahead, listen to the episode first, then formulate your opinions before we open up the voting process.
- 1:02:44SPEAKER_03: Boys, thank you all for hopping on.
- 1:02:46SPEAKER_03: Listeners, thank you all for tuning in, and until next time, take care of the bigger.
