- 0:00Speaker 1: Now this is the Mark Simon Show on sevent ten.
- 0:05Speaker 2: Wo R. Well, hey, it turned out to be a
- 0:11Speaker 2: nice day. It's gonna be a very nice a lot
- 0:12Speaker 2: of sun today. It'll be nice like that's tomorrow and
- 0:15Speaker 2: then rain on Saturday and not that. Man. Hey, we
- 0:19Speaker 2: got a lot to get to. We'll get to a
- 0:21Speaker 2: crazy mom Donnie.
- 0:22Speaker 3: Uh.
- 0:22Speaker 2: These billionaires are banding together, and let's see how this
- 0:28Speaker 2: war turns out between them and him, and we'll get
- 0:31Speaker 2: to Iran. We'll get to Colbert leaving us, thank god.
- 0:35Speaker 2: And we'll get to Marco Rubio, he's on his way
- 0:38Speaker 2: to meet with the Pope as we speak. We'll get
- 0:41Speaker 2: to Jeffrey Epstein, Ted Turner, and a whole lot more Iran. Well,
- 0:47Speaker 2: keep looking for that deal and let me see your
- 0:50Speaker 2: here's turned Well.
- 0:53Speaker 4: I don't want to say that, but I mean people say,
- 0:56Speaker 4: why aren't they protesting? They are to protest, but they
- 0:59Speaker 4: don't have any guns. So you could have two hundred
- 1:02Speaker 4: thousand people protesting and have five or six sick people
- 1:05Speaker 4: with guns and when they start shooting them right between
- 1:08Speaker 4: the eyes.
- 1:09Speaker 2: Yeah, Well, I mean expecting the people to go out
- 1:12Speaker 2: there and take down this regime. That's a lot to
- 1:15Speaker 2: expect who's actually in control.
- 1:17Speaker 5: In the case of Iran, we're not going to let
- 1:19Speaker 5: Iran have a nuclear weapon, and we're not going to
- 1:22Speaker 5: let that happen, and we won't let that happen. And
- 1:26Speaker 5: so we're dealing with people that want to make a
- 1:29Speaker 5: deal very much, and we'll see whether or not they
- 1:31Speaker 5: can make a deal this satisfactory to us. We have
- 1:34Speaker 5: it very much under control.
- 1:37Speaker 2: Yeah. Well, as they say, Iran loses every war and
- 1:40Speaker 2: wins every negotiation. Are pretty good at that, although they
- 1:44Speaker 2: have never been up against a real negotiator. It's usually
- 1:47Speaker 2: those State department idiots with the briefing books. Trump the
- 1:51Speaker 2: master negotiator, So this may take a little longer than expected,
- 1:55Speaker 2: but it'll get done. Also, Trump asked about the now
- 2:00Speaker 2: he's talking about a billion dollars. The reason for that,
- 2:03Speaker 2: they've decided to as long as they're going to open
- 2:06Speaker 2: up the ground and do all that stuff to put
- 2:08Speaker 2: a lot of things under the ballroom, they need a
- 2:11Speaker 2: whole new underground bunker. There's one in the White House now,
- 2:14Speaker 2: but apparently it's very outdated, and there's all kinds of
- 2:20Speaker 2: new technology and new ways to make it more bomb proof. Bulletproof,
- 2:24Speaker 2: all kinds of proof, so they want to do that. Also,
- 2:27Speaker 2: there's a White House doctor who's always there too. Sometimes
- 2:31Speaker 2: there's two doctors. There's a little medical center with a
- 2:34Speaker 2: little equipment in there. As long as they're going to
- 2:36Speaker 2: do all this, they want to put in a real
- 2:38Speaker 2: serious medical center in the White House. All kinds of
- 2:42Speaker 2: stuff to do under there. Now, the ballroom, it's going
- 2:45Speaker 2: to be a little more expensive than your average ballroom
- 2:47Speaker 2: because it's got to be bomb proof, bulletproof, drone proof,
- 2:50Speaker 2: all that stuff. Here's President Trump.
- 2:52Speaker 6: I usually have a glass that's about a quarter of
- 2:55Speaker 6: an inch thick.
- 2:56Speaker 5: This is about six inches thick.
- 2:59Speaker 6: This can repair well, a lot of different a lot
- 3:01Speaker 6: of different weapons. But it's going to be it's going
- 3:05Speaker 6: to be aside from being secure, it's going to be
- 3:07Speaker 6: the most I think it's going to be the most
- 3:08Speaker 6: beautiful ball room ever built.
- 3:10Speaker 2: Yeah, well probably will be. You know, millions of presidents
- 3:14Speaker 2: have been calling for this ballroom. They've all said they
- 3:16Speaker 2: need it. There's no question about that. If you're ever
- 3:19Speaker 2: going to build the ballroom, obviously it would make sense
- 3:23Speaker 2: to do it while in the White House. You got
- 3:25Speaker 2: the best ballroom builder in America in office. When's that
- 3:28Speaker 2: going to ever happen again? You mentioned Obama trying to
- 3:31Speaker 2: build something, or any other president a politician mentioned Joe
- 3:35Speaker 2: Biden trying to or even George w.
- 3:37Speaker 7: Vers.
- 3:37Speaker 2: These guys aren't builders. They don't know how to you know,
- 3:40Speaker 2: you know, they fall for the every trick of every contractor.
- 3:44Speaker 2: You got the greatest builder in the world, the world
- 3:47Speaker 2: expert on building ballrooms. He's built them all over the world.
- 3:49Speaker 2: As long as he's there in office, let's get it done. Now,
- 3:53Speaker 2: it's going to take a while, you know, it's not
- 3:55Speaker 2: it's not really building it for himself. By the time
- 3:57Speaker 2: it's finished, he'll probably only have a few months to
- 4:00Speaker 2: use it. So it's really for other presidents. A pretty
- 4:03Speaker 2: good thing. The Epstein files, well there's a suicide note
- 4:07Speaker 2: now that has not been authenticated. Supposedly it's Jeffrey Epstein's
- 4:13Speaker 2: suicide note. The question is was it suicide or was
- 4:16Speaker 2: he killed that somebody strangle him. Well, there's a guy
- 4:20Speaker 2: in that prison who people always like to suspect was
- 4:24Speaker 2: the guy that did it. He's an ex cop who's
- 4:26Speaker 2: I think it was Epstein's cell made at one point,
- 4:29Speaker 2: but there a number of people online suspecting it was
- 4:33Speaker 2: him that might have killed Epstein. So there's a suicide note.
- 4:37Speaker 2: The problem is the guy that we're talking about, he's
- 4:39Speaker 2: the guy that found it. He's the guy that says
- 4:41Speaker 2: it's Epstein's suicide note. So do we trust this other prisoner?
- 4:46Speaker 2: I don't know? And where's it been all along? He said,
- 4:49Speaker 2: he knows he's being suspected of being the strangler. But
- 4:55Speaker 2: he said that's why he kept the note to prove
- 4:57Speaker 2: that it was suicide, to prove his innocence. Well, if
- 5:00Speaker 2: that's the case, why didn't he release it the next day?
- 5:03Speaker 2: Why was he hanging on to it?
- 5:04Speaker 7: Now?
- 5:05Speaker 2: You might see some stories where they say it's authenticated,
- 5:07Speaker 2: but if you read the sentence carefully, it said this
- 5:12Speaker 2: other guy's lawyers authenticated it. Well, that doesn't count. It
- 5:16Speaker 2: doesn't count. The police would have to actually authenticate it.
- 5:20Speaker 2: There's a couple of phrases in there, one where he says,
- 5:25Speaker 2: watch me, what do you want me to do? Burst
- 5:27Speaker 2: out crying? That phrase burst out crying. If you check
- 5:31Speaker 2: the Epstein files, he has used that phrase a few times.
- 5:36Speaker 2: So that's pretty interesting. He said. The note actually says,
- 5:40Speaker 2: so they investigated for a month found nothing, so sixteen
- 5:45Speaker 2: year old charge results. It's a treat to be able
- 5:48Speaker 2: to choose one time one's time to say goodbye, and
- 5:52Speaker 2: then he says time to say goodbye? What you want
- 5:56Speaker 2: me to do? Burst out crying, no fun, not worth it.
- 5:59Speaker 2: So if this is authentic, it would indicate suicide. Epstein
- 6:04Speaker 2: was working on his legal case while he was in prison,
- 6:07Speaker 2: and the lawyers would come meet with him every day,
- 6:09Speaker 2: and they had met with him the day before and
- 6:11Speaker 2: they said he didn't seem like a guy about to
- 6:14Speaker 2: commit suicide. So if this turns out to be authentic,
- 6:17Speaker 2: then that it could be pretty much a proof that
- 6:21Speaker 2: it was suicide. But we'll see if they can authenticate it.
- 6:25Speaker 2: There's Epstein hearings going on and they brought in Howard
- 6:28Speaker 2: Lutnik to testify. Now, Howard Lutnik had no relationship at
- 6:32Speaker 2: all with Jeffrey Epstein. He bought a big townhouse in Manhattan.
- 6:36Speaker 2: It turned out the guy next door, the neighbor next door,
- 6:39Speaker 2: was Jeffrey Epstein. That's how they met once or twice
- 6:42Speaker 2: at one time, since they were next door neighbors. Epstein said,
- 6:47Speaker 2: let me give you a to her my house and
- 6:48Speaker 2: they led him through the house, and they thought it
- 6:50Speaker 2: was kind of tacky and creepy and they didn't really
- 6:52Speaker 2: want to hang around the guy. And then a lot
- 6:57Speaker 2: thick had made a statement somewhere, but I decided never
- 7:00Speaker 2: to be in the same room with him again. Well,
- 7:03Speaker 2: there's a slight catch there. It turns out that he did.
- 7:07Speaker 2: He did go to Epstein Island once. It's not what
- 7:09Speaker 2: you think it was. Somehow Epstein found out Lutnick would
- 7:14Speaker 2: be on his boat with a whole bunch of people
- 7:17Speaker 2: sailing around right near the island in the Caribbean. In
- 7:21Speaker 2: fact that Lutnik said it was a little creepy. He
- 7:23Speaker 2: still doesn't know how Epstein found out his schedule, knew
- 7:26Speaker 2: where he'd be. But when he knew that, he kept
- 7:28Speaker 2: bombarding Lutnick. Stopped by the island, have lunch. Come by
- 7:31Speaker 2: the island. So Lutnick wrote back, and he said, I'm
- 7:34Speaker 2: with my wife, my kids, we have nannies with another couple.
- 7:38Speaker 2: They've got kids, they've got nannies. It's like twelve of us.
- 7:41Speaker 2: And Epstein said, come anyway, come in. He so they
- 7:43Speaker 2: did stop. The boat was going right by the island.
- 7:45Speaker 2: They stopped. They went and they had lunch for about
- 7:49Speaker 2: an hour. So Lutnick did go on the island, but
- 7:52Speaker 2: with like twelve people, his wife and kids and this
- 7:55Speaker 2: other family, and that was it. That was his only
- 7:58Speaker 2: real ever in social engagement ever with Epstein. And then
- 8:03Speaker 2: after that never spoke to him again. So he had
- 8:05Speaker 2: to testify yesterday. Naturally, had Democrats beat him up, accused
- 8:08Speaker 2: him of lying, accused him of all kinds of stuff.
- 8:10Speaker 2: Committee Chairman Comer after the testimony, the only thing.
- 8:14Speaker 8: That I'd seen that Lutnick did wrong wasn't ha truthful
- 8:18Speaker 8: on the brief visit to the island with his family.
- 8:21Speaker 8: He corrected that in his opening statement, and you know,
- 8:26Speaker 8: we'll see. We'll continue our investigation and if we find
- 8:29Speaker 8: that there were any misstatements by Lutnik, it's a felon,
- 8:33Speaker 8: need a lot of Congress, and he'll be held accountable.
- 8:36Speaker 2: Yeah, well, it doesn't sound like it's going to be.
- 8:37Speaker 2: That's pretty much it. And if you look through the
- 8:40Speaker 2: Epstein files, there's really nothing about Lutnik in there except
- 8:43Speaker 2: just what we've told you, So that should be it.
- 8:45Speaker 2: They're going to get Pam Bondi to come in and
- 8:48Speaker 2: testify with Lutnik as a transcript of it. No video.
- 8:52Speaker 2: Democrats are pushing for transcript and video of Pam Bondi
- 8:57Speaker 2: when she testifies, but it's nothing's gonna happen there. So
- 9:03Speaker 2: it's just they just keep this Epstein thing going. They
- 9:06Speaker 2: just praying somehow it hurts Trump. It only helps Trump.
- 9:09Speaker 2: If you read the Epstein files, it's clear that he
- 9:12Speaker 2: hated Trump. They had briefly known each other million years ago,
- 9:15Speaker 2: and then Trump decided he was a disgusting guy and
- 9:18Speaker 2: cut him off, and then for the rest of his life.
- 9:21Speaker 2: Epstein's bad mouthing Trump, plotting against Trump, especially with that
- 9:24Speaker 2: writer Michael Wolf trying to bring down Trump. So if
- 9:29Speaker 2: that's the connection, that really doesn't hurt Trump in anyway. Hey,
- 9:33Speaker 2: crazy Mom Donnie. Besides his war on the billionaires, there's
- 9:38Speaker 2: all kinds of I mean, this guy's going to be
- 9:40Speaker 2: a lot of trouble every second, everywhere, every day. Now,
- 9:44Speaker 2: there's this NYPD captain at an event who is caught
- 9:50Speaker 2: on viral video it went everywhere bashing Mom Donnie. But
- 9:53Speaker 2: he's in uniform and he's on the scene at an event,
- 9:59Speaker 2: supervised and he's attacking Mom Donnie like crazy. He's total nonsense.
- 10:04Speaker 2: He's an embarrassment, total nonsense. Not my mayor. He's a
- 10:09Speaker 2: waste of human a waste of the human race. Well,
- 10:13Speaker 2: you know, I'm not saying he's wrong. I'm just I'm
- 10:17Speaker 2: just saying you can't say that on the job, when
- 10:20Speaker 2: you're on duty in front of a lot of people,
- 10:24Speaker 2: and there were a lot of people. That's how it
- 10:25Speaker 2: ended up on video going viral. So he's been removed.
- 10:30Speaker 2: He was shipped away from the ninety fourth Precinct where
- 10:32Speaker 2: he was the captain sent to the nine to one
- 10:35Speaker 2: to one call center in the Bronx, which is probably
- 10:39Speaker 2: not the dream job of anybody in the NYPD. But
- 10:44Speaker 2: a lot of people are attacking mom Donnie for it.
- 10:46Speaker 2: Although a lot of people I've talked to in the NYPD,
- 10:48Speaker 2: good solid, responsible people, they do say, I mean, the
- 10:52Speaker 2: captain was wrong. You can think that stuff, you can
- 10:55Speaker 2: say that stuff all day and night, but when you're
- 10:56Speaker 2: in the job, on uniform, out in public, you can't
- 11:00Speaker 2: say the stuff. So within the department there's not a
- 11:03Speaker 2: lot of defense for them. Now the reassignment will be
- 11:06Speaker 2: till the investigation is complete. The investigation, they say, can
- 11:09Speaker 2: take a year. What on earth could take a year. Well,
- 11:16Speaker 2: I could see if that was that Albuquerque Police department
- 11:19Speaker 2: who screwed up the Nancy Guthrie mother investigation. But what
- 11:23Speaker 2: could take a year? So we'll see what happens there.
- 11:26Speaker 2: The other thing with Mom Donnie is a horrible thing
- 11:28Speaker 2: Parky Synagogue, Park East Synagogue one hundred. They like to
- 11:34Speaker 2: think they're protesters, but they were violent thugs with those
- 11:37Speaker 2: things tied around their head, those things of scarfs tied
- 11:42Speaker 2: around their faces. These are violent protesters. They battled with
- 11:46Speaker 2: the NYPD for hours. Mom Donnie should be denouncing them
- 11:50Speaker 2: like crazy. He's not. They claimed to be protesting a
- 11:54Speaker 2: meeting that was about the sale of the West Bank
- 11:58Speaker 2: land to Jews. First of all, that's not even true,
- 12:01Speaker 2: None of this is true. And then Mom Donnie kind
- 12:07Speaker 2: of let them know he's on their side. The police
- 12:09Speaker 2: did not do enough to stop them. They should have
- 12:11Speaker 2: been stopped immediately, shut down immediately. Mam Donnie did not
- 12:14Speaker 2: do that. The great NYPD did as much as they
- 12:18Speaker 2: could to contain it, but they should have been arrested,
- 12:21Speaker 2: taken away. Mom Donnie still defending him. He made some
- 12:24Speaker 2: crazy statement about that sale of the West Bank that's
- 12:29Speaker 2: not even true. But then he said it's illegal under
- 12:33Speaker 2: international law. There's no such thing as international law. Democrats
- 12:38Speaker 2: love to use that phrase. They used it with their
- 12:39Speaker 2: ran the violation of international law. There is no actual
- 12:42Speaker 2: international law anywhere. There's no such thing. So the anti
- 12:47Speaker 2: Semitic side of mom Donnie coming out here and looking really,
- 12:52Speaker 2: really bad, he should be warning these thugs. You know.
- 12:57Speaker 2: Bruce Blakeman had the same problem, and it was the
- 13:00Speaker 2: same group. They tried the same thing out in Nassau County.
- 13:04Speaker 2: Bruce Blakeman had the cops stopped them immediately, whole thing
- 13:07Speaker 2: over in fifteen minutes, just shut him down in fifteen minutes,
- 13:12Speaker 2: and that was the end of it. Hey, Mayor Giuliani
- 13:14Speaker 2: doing much better. He was in ICU intensive care. He's
- 13:20Speaker 2: out of the ICU, no more intensive care. He's in
- 13:22Speaker 2: a regular hospital room and they expect that he'll be
- 13:25Speaker 2: able to go home in a couple of days. That's
- 13:29Speaker 2: great news. And we'll get to Ted Turner throughout the show.
- 13:33Speaker 2: Ted Turner, who gave us a CNN.
- 13:36Speaker 9: I worked till seven o'clock. When I got home, the
- 13:39Speaker 9: news was over, so I missed television news completely and
- 13:44Speaker 9: I figured there were lots of people like me.
- 13:48Speaker 2: Yeah, that's a good point. You know. Back then, the
- 13:51Speaker 2: only television news was at six thirty, the nightly news
- 13:55Speaker 2: six thirty to seven, and if he got home at seven,
- 13:58Speaker 2: that's it. There was no television news. You could see
- 14:01Speaker 2: the local news at eleven o'clock, but that was about it.
- 14:04Speaker 2: And well he turned out to be right. They thought
- 14:07Speaker 2: he was crazy twenty four hour news, but it worked. Well,
- 14:11Speaker 2: we'll get into it in the next hour. We got
- 14:13Speaker 2: a lot to get to. We'll take some calls. Next.
- 14:15Speaker 2: Eight hundred three two one zero seven ten is the number.
- 14:20Speaker 2: Eight hundred three two one zero seven ten give WR
- 14:26Speaker 2: a Briest said on the iHeartRadio app to hear Mark
- 14:29Speaker 2: Simone and all the WR hosts in an instance.
- 14:33Speaker 3: Now back to the Mark Simo show on wor.
- 14:38Speaker 2: Hey, let's take some calls. Eight hundred three two one
- 14:43Speaker 2: zero seven ten is the number. Let's go to Dave
- 14:46Speaker 2: in Chicago. Dave, how you doing.
- 14:49Speaker 10: Good morning, Mark. I'm doing very well.
- 14:50Speaker 11: Thank you.
- 14:51Speaker 3: Mark.
- 14:51Speaker 10: I read a report that in the recent past, Governor
- 14:54Speaker 10: Kathy Hochel vevo to bill which would have restricted Mayor
- 14:58Speaker 10: Mondamie's powers. I have two questions if you please. The
- 15:04Speaker 10: first is didn't Mondami meet with President Trump and the
- 15:08Speaker 10: Oval Office? And secondly, our very good friend Vincent and
- 15:12Speaker 10: Brooklyn watches a lot of Italian TV. I'm wondering if
- 15:16Speaker 10: they're covering this.
- 15:18Speaker 2: No, I don't think. I don't think it goes that far,
- 15:20Speaker 2: but it has become a national story, Mom, Donnie, and
- 15:26Speaker 2: as far as Kathy Hope. You got to remember, Democrats
- 15:29Speaker 2: have controlled everything in New York for twelve years, almost
- 15:33Speaker 2: thirteen years. Everything. The governor is a Democrat, the mayor's
- 15:37Speaker 2: been a Democrat, the whole city council Democrats, the state legislature,
- 15:41Speaker 2: both houses Democrats. Democrats have had full control for almost
- 15:46Speaker 2: thirteen years. So when they say this an affordability crisis,
- 15:52Speaker 2: whose fault is that, Well, they're the ones that have
- 15:54Speaker 2: been running everything. So when the campaign based on affordability
- 15:57Speaker 2: crisis and this is wrong and there's no housing everything,
- 16:00Speaker 2: well there to blame. They've been totally in charge of
- 16:04Speaker 2: every inter government for thirteen years. And if all that
- 16:07Speaker 2: stuff is wrong, well that's the result of them. Hard
- 16:10Speaker 2: to believe, but if you go back a whole bunch
- 16:12Speaker 2: of years before those thirteen years, you know you had
- 16:17Speaker 2: George Pataki, you had Rudy Giuliani, you had Mike Bloomberg,
- 16:21Speaker 2: you had Republicans in the state legislature controlled one house,
- 16:26Speaker 2: you had a lot of Republicans in the city council.
- 16:28Speaker 2: It's a whole different world, and it was a lot
- 16:30Speaker 2: better in New York back then. Let's go to Gina
- 16:34Speaker 2: in Staten Island. Gina, how you doing.
- 16:37Speaker 9: Oh?
- 16:37Speaker 12: Hi, I'm doing great. I love your show. I'm calling
- 16:41Speaker 12: because I was in Brooklyn the other day and I
- 16:43Speaker 12: saw a very disturbing sign hanging out of a window.
- 16:46Speaker 12: It said ready eighty six forty seven. So I said,
- 16:50Speaker 12: I can't believe this. So I pulled over, I took
- 16:53Speaker 12: a picture. I called the police and told them. I said,
- 16:56Speaker 12: it's on an emergency, but I'm very upset about the science.
- 16:59Speaker 12: And they said, well, we don't know what that means.
- 17:02Speaker 12: And I said, you're kidding. You don't know what that means.
- 17:04Speaker 12: They said, all call three one.
- 17:05Speaker 2: Yeah, it's not just that haus. You know, there's all
- 17:09Speaker 2: kinds of things online where you can buy eighty six
- 17:12Speaker 2: forty seven T shirts that's been going on for years.
- 17:14Speaker 2: You can buy them on Amazon. There's eighty six forty
- 17:16Speaker 2: seven merchandise. Yeah, it's terrible.
- 17:21Speaker 12: It's all horrible.
- 17:22Speaker 2: Yeah, I know, I know how you feel. It's just terrible.
- 17:25Speaker 2: But that's Democrats, that's the way they do things. Let's
- 17:29Speaker 2: go to Rob in Franklin Square. Rob. How you doing.
- 17:32Speaker 13: Yeah, good morning, Mark Ya. I'm gonna retire transit cop
- 17:34Speaker 13: and I've been following the Epstein things since twenty nineteen.
- 17:38Speaker 13: Now to Taglia, the role cop, he was the one
- 17:41Speaker 13: that informed to the corrections that Epstein made a you know,
- 17:46Speaker 13: verbal remarks that he was going to commit suicide, and
- 17:48Speaker 13: then he was transferred to the psych ward for thirty days. Now,
- 17:52Speaker 13: when when Epstein came back, Tech Tagli was out of
- 17:55Speaker 13: the picture, he was transferred to another He wasn't in
- 17:59Speaker 13: the cell anymore.
- 18:00Speaker 11: So long I was.
- 18:01Speaker 2: Still in the prison and it was a very corrupt prison.
- 18:04Speaker 2: Guards from the prison have actually gone to jail for corruption.
- 18:07Speaker 13: But he gave he gave the note when he found
- 18:09Speaker 13: a note, he gave it to the lawyers in twenty
- 18:11Speaker 13: nineteen and they held it to twenty twenty one. So
- 18:13Speaker 13: he wouldn't there's no way that he would have been
- 18:16Speaker 13: the guy that would you know, but yeah.
- 18:18Speaker 2: Well I know, but if we're to believe him and
- 18:23Speaker 2: his lawyers that they had this note. Why didn't they
- 18:27Speaker 2: release it immediately? That would have gotten all the taglia
- 18:31Speaker 2: off the hook. He was a suspect for so long.
- 18:35Speaker 2: Let's go to Joe and Gardner, New York.
- 18:38Speaker 13: Joe, how you doing good yourself?
- 18:40Speaker 2: Let me check? Not bad? Not bad?
- 18:43Speaker 13: That's good, that's good.
- 18:45Speaker 3: He So international law?
- 18:47Speaker 13: What's with the Hague?
- 18:49Speaker 2: Is it?
- 18:50Speaker 6: This?
- 18:51Speaker 13: Like, who's going to enforce it?
- 18:52Speaker 2: If there is no such thing as international law, it
- 18:56Speaker 2: doesn't exist. I mean, you could say there's court cases
- 18:58Speaker 2: and rulings around the world world, and each country has
- 19:01Speaker 2: their laws. There's no such thing as international law.
- 19:04Speaker 13: Is that where Jack Smith was working at the Hague?
- 19:07Speaker 2: Yeah? The Hague is some sort of court where a country,
- 19:09Speaker 2: if they want, can take somebody to court. They really
- 19:11Speaker 2: don't have a lot of authority over anything now. Uh,
- 19:15Speaker 2: And again, there's no such thing as international law. You
- 19:18Speaker 2: only hear about it when democrats need to claim something.
- 19:23Speaker 2: You know, when Trump with the Maduro raid, they'll take
- 19:26Speaker 2: it's against international law. Well there is no Okay, take
- 19:30Speaker 2: him to the international law court, charge him with the
- 19:33Speaker 2: international law. You think there is actually such a thing
- 19:36Speaker 2: doesn't actually exist. Let's go to Joe and Staten Island. Joe,
- 19:39Speaker 2: how you doing?
- 19:42Speaker 11: How you doing?
- 19:43Speaker 7: First? Well, I got a question about a story I
- 19:47Speaker 7: heard about Sinatra. Yes, there was his mother, Sinatra's mother's
- 19:53Speaker 7: birthday party, and he the mother asked Sinatra.
- 19:57Speaker 2: To Jimmy Roselle. Yeah, it's not true. For as far
- 20:01Speaker 2: as I know, there's no truth to that story.
- 20:04Speaker 7: And the story I heard was that said yes, but
- 20:07Speaker 7: he wanted to get paid.
- 20:08Speaker 2: For it, right, or he refused or something, and he
- 20:10Speaker 2: always said that's the reason he was banned from w W.
- 20:14Speaker 2: No truth to that. No, it wasn't true. It's a
- 20:17Speaker 2: great myth and a great story. It didn't make any
- 20:21Speaker 2: sense because back in the early sixties, if Sinatra and
- 20:24Speaker 2: his mother wanted to put together an incredible gala, they
- 20:27Speaker 2: had the biggest stars in the world. What the hell
- 20:29Speaker 2: would they want Jimmy Rosselli for nobody knew him outside
- 20:31Speaker 2: of New York City, So it didn't it didn't make
- 20:33Speaker 2: any sense, but it was a great It was a
- 20:37Speaker 2: great gimmick. You know, if you ever have a just
- 20:39Speaker 2: tell somebody your band and that's why they won't play
- 20:41Speaker 2: you on this radio station. That's why you can't work
- 20:44Speaker 2: Las Vegas. It sounds great. It's better than saying, hey,
- 20:48Speaker 2: they wouldn't have played my records anyway. I'm not big
- 20:52Speaker 2: enough to get booked in Las Vegas. Anyway. Hey, speaking
- 20:54Speaker 2: of Las Vegas, the Eagles, you know they're doing their
- 20:57Speaker 2: residency there. They extended. This is the big thing now,
- 21:02Speaker 2: the residency of the Eagles. But they've extended. They put
- 21:05Speaker 2: in like ten more dates, and they're also implying saying
- 21:09Speaker 2: that you'd better come see us now because this is it.
- 21:11Speaker 2: That they will never tour again. Obviously, they're a huge, huge,
- 21:15Speaker 2: huge concert act, and it is possible this could be
- 21:19Speaker 2: the end. But you know, people do that. That's another
- 21:22Speaker 2: great myth, like the Barber streisand retirement tour sold out immediately,
- 21:27Speaker 2: last chance to see her, but then it turned out
- 21:29Speaker 2: there were like eight more retirement tours after that. They
- 21:31Speaker 2: got so many hits, they sold so many albums. But
- 21:36Speaker 2: the residency will be extended. Whenever I hear farewell tour,
- 21:40Speaker 2: it means they'll be back for years to come. So
- 21:42Speaker 2: don't worry about it. Hey, coming up, we'll talk to
- 21:46Speaker 2: Steve more. We hope the brilliant economist Steve Moore, lots
- 21:50Speaker 2: to talk to him about, and we'll get to Ted
- 21:53Speaker 2: Turner and a whole lot more. Just ahead on seven
- 21:55Speaker 2: to ten woor.
- 21:57Speaker 14: Where's th New York?
- 21:59Speaker 12: Here's more?
- 21:59Speaker 2: Mark some own on sevent ten woor. Well, Steve Morley,
- 22:06Speaker 2: brilliant economist, and you should get his book, The Trump
- 22:10Speaker 2: Economic Miracle. It's excellent. You'll learn a lot from it,
- 22:12Speaker 2: The Trump Economic Miracle. Also he runs the Committee to
- 22:16Speaker 2: Unleash Prosperity. They put out the best daily news analysis briefing.
- 22:21Speaker 2: It's free. It'll come write your email, go sign up
- 22:23Speaker 2: at Unleash Prosperity dot com. Steve Moore, how you doing.
- 22:28Speaker 7: Hey, Mark? I'm doing really well. And there was something
- 22:31Speaker 7: I wanted to tell you, if I may, that my
- 22:34Speaker 7: good friend Jeffyass was at the Manhattan It's Too Big
- 22:37Speaker 7: dinner last night. I don't know were you there by
- 22:39Speaker 7: any No?
- 22:40Speaker 3: No?
- 22:41Speaker 7: Oh, well, Jeff is you know, a great philanthropist. He
- 22:45Speaker 7: cares a lot about kids and education. And I just
- 22:47Speaker 7: wanted to give you this one statistic if I may,
- 22:50Speaker 7: for your listeners, because you're in the New York area obviously,
- 22:54Speaker 7: so New York spends thirty seven billion billion dollars on
- 23:00Speaker 7: K through twelve education. Okay, yeah, thirty seven billion. There
- 23:04Speaker 7: are eight hundred and fifty thousand students, so that comes
- 23:07Speaker 7: out to almost forty four thousand dollars per students. And
- 23:11Speaker 7: yet you have the worst performing schools in the country.
- 23:14Speaker 2: Yeah, and the worst results about that. Students come out
- 23:17Speaker 2: of there can't pass a basic test for it.
- 23:19Speaker 7: How do you, I guess the question mark, how do
- 23:21Speaker 7: you waste that much money?
- 23:23Speaker 2: Well, that's everything, that's every inch of government.
- 23:26Speaker 7: So yeah, and by the way, you could so in
- 23:28Speaker 7: the Catholic schools for far less than half that class.
- 23:32Speaker 7: You could educate every kid in the New York system
- 23:36Speaker 7: and they would get a much better education. There's something
- 23:39Speaker 7: wrong them.
- 23:40Speaker 2: Yeah. I remember talking to Cardinal O'Connor once about that,
- 23:43Speaker 2: because the Catholic schools are great. I said, how would
- 23:45Speaker 2: you fix the New York City? He said, cut the
- 23:47Speaker 2: budget in half, get rid of all that lads.
- 23:50Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah, I mean, here's the thing. The Catholic school
- 23:54Speaker 7: system has almost no bureaucracy. You know, maybe a few hundred,
- 23:59Speaker 7: they have thousands in thousands, and those people, those bureaucrats
- 24:03Speaker 7: have and the teacher in union officials. They were been
- 24:07Speaker 7: inside a classroom.
- 24:08Speaker 2: Yeah, I remember you said, there's layers and layers and layers.
- 24:11Speaker 2: If you throw a dollar in, by the time it
- 24:13Speaker 2: gets to the classroom, it's about thirty cents.
- 24:15Speaker 7: So exactly. So there's where all your money goes. Folks,
- 24:19Speaker 7: if you care about kids, we always it's for the children. Okay,
- 24:22Speaker 7: maybe it's for the children that we don't waste forty
- 24:24Speaker 7: three thousand dollars per kid. Really really a shame.
- 24:27Speaker 2: Yeah, but that's everything in the government. You know, when
- 24:29Speaker 2: the city puts out their budget one hundred billion, it's ridiculous.
- 24:32Speaker 2: It should be one third of that. Every supermarket will
- 24:35Speaker 2: tell you it's three billion at the most to open
- 24:37Speaker 2: a grocery store. He's spending thirty million on a little
- 24:40Speaker 2: junkie grocery store.
- 24:42Speaker 7: Where's where's the way? Yeah, they probably don't have the
- 24:46Speaker 7: stuff on the selves you want and probably have to
- 24:48Speaker 7: wait and line. Yeah, bad way. I guarantee you, Mark,
- 24:51Speaker 7: I mean mark my words, you know, three years through
- 24:54Speaker 7: or four years from now, when we're hopefully still doing
- 24:56Speaker 7: the show together, you know, and I'll se those those
- 25:01Speaker 7: government run back grocery stores. They went back left throughout
- 25:04Speaker 7: the business.
- 25:06Speaker 2: Well, actually, if I may predict, I don't think you'll
- 25:09Speaker 2: ever see a government run grocery store in New York'll
- 25:13Speaker 2: a business, No, he'll never get it built.
- 25:15Speaker 7: Yeah, they've already spent millions of dollars something. But it's
- 25:21Speaker 7: it is, it's it's ironic. It's this is what the
- 25:23Speaker 7: Soviet Union did. They had the government run the grocery store.
- 25:26Speaker 7: And by the way, it was a great deal. I mean,
- 25:28Speaker 7: the scood was really cheap. Of course you had to
- 25:29Speaker 7: wait an hour to get in, and there was no
- 25:31Speaker 7: food on the shelves, but there was really cheap.
- 25:34Speaker 2: Hey, let me ask you a question, is the great
- 25:35Speaker 2: economist there's a science to running an economy. It's an
- 25:39Speaker 2: actual science. You know what works? You know it doesn't work.
- 25:42Speaker 2: Democrats don't believe in following the science. They never follow
- 25:45Speaker 2: the science, like exactly socialism. We've tried that experiment. We've
- 25:49Speaker 2: run it one hundred thousand times. It fails every time.
- 25:52Speaker 2: Will they ever change? Will they ever learn?
- 25:56Speaker 7: You know, it's it's a heartbreaking, isn't it.
- 25:58Speaker 14: You know?
- 25:58Speaker 7: I think I told you the story of war, but
- 26:00Speaker 7: you know I was friends with Milton Friedman, one of
- 26:04Speaker 7: the greatest economists since Adam Smith and and towards the
- 26:07Speaker 7: end of his life, and I remember Lemming a few
- 26:10Speaker 7: years before he died at the age of I think
- 26:11Speaker 7: ninety two, he said, you know that he was sad.
- 26:14Speaker 7: He said, Look, if you look back on the twentieth century,
- 26:17Speaker 7: what is sort of the central lesson of the twentieth century,
- 26:20Speaker 7: It's that, you know, out of control government leads to poverty,
- 26:25Speaker 7: it leads to people being murdered. You know how many
- 26:28Speaker 7: people were murdered by the hands of guggish governments, whether
- 26:31Speaker 7: it's the Nazis or the Soviet government. And yet he said,
- 26:35Speaker 7: you know, said a lesson here is free markets work
- 26:38Speaker 7: and socialism doesn't. He said, But what they're teaching in
- 26:41Speaker 7: school is is that socialism merchants three markets don't work.
- 26:45Speaker 2: Yeah, as we said before, Democrats have had control of
- 26:48Speaker 2: every inch of New York state government, city government for
- 26:51Speaker 2: thirteen years. So if there's an affordability crisis, guess who
- 26:55Speaker 2: caused it. I mean, it's them.
- 26:57Speaker 7: So you know, there's a great little story if I
- 26:59Speaker 7: may about Chicago. And as you know, I'm I'm a
- 27:03Speaker 7: Chicago native and I love Chicago, but I don't like
- 27:05Speaker 7: what's happened to the city. And so I don't know if
- 27:08Speaker 7: you've been bolling the story, but Walmart has closed and
- 27:11Speaker 7: that Walmart Walt Reads has closed about six to ten
- 27:15Speaker 7: the twelve of the stores in Chicago, and so they
- 27:21Speaker 7: just connounced another closing and the left is going absolutely nuts.
- 27:24Speaker 7: Oh my god, Well I think it's I's either Walmart runters.
- 27:28Speaker 7: You're now daring you shut down these these stores. They're
- 27:32Speaker 7: going to become food deserts. I don't know if you've
- 27:34Speaker 7: heard this strong. They're going to be food deserts and
- 27:36Speaker 7: nobody's going to im poor people are going to get food.
- 27:38Speaker 7: And the Walmart people said, well, wait a minute, we've
- 27:41Speaker 7: told you for the last six or seven years, we
- 27:43Speaker 7: can't keep our stores open if you don't get rid
- 27:45Speaker 7: of the crime, because people literally were going into the
- 27:47Speaker 7: toores and just stealing things off the shelf. And then
- 27:50Speaker 7: mayor said, well, we're not even going to prosecute these crimes.
- 27:53Speaker 7: So they've been losing all this money and now they're
- 27:55Speaker 7: shutting down and what hypocrisy. Now they're saying, how dare
- 27:58Speaker 7: you shut down your stores?
- 28:01Speaker 2: And that happened in San Francisco. Again, they don't learn
- 28:03Speaker 2: from the science.
- 28:05Speaker 7: It's unbelievable. So I guess they're gonna have to have
- 28:08Speaker 7: government run at grocery stores in Chicago now too. We
- 28:11Speaker 7: have a workout.
- 28:12Speaker 2: So this has caused a massive exodus, right, what's the
- 28:15Speaker 2: difference now Red states versus Blue states?
- 28:18Speaker 7: So we have something in our hotline today and you
- 28:20Speaker 7: mentioned this. To go to hotline, just go to UNLEASEPUS
- 28:23Speaker 7: thirty dot comment, sign up for free bolts and we'll
- 28:24Speaker 7: get that for you every morning. But in the last
- 28:27Speaker 7: ten eleven years, from twenty twenty two, twelve to twenty
- 28:30Speaker 7: twenty three, that's the last data we have from the IRS,
- 28:34Speaker 7: the Red states have taken. Ready for that, he's sitting
- 28:37Speaker 7: down mouth two trillion dollars out of blue state that
- 28:42Speaker 7: is now that income is now a Red state. And mouch,
- 28:45Speaker 7: I will give you a dollar if you can get
- 28:46Speaker 7: this question right. Guess which state has lost the most money?
- 28:51Speaker 2: California.
- 28:52Speaker 11: No, you got that run.
- 28:54Speaker 7: You don't get that dollar. I'll guess again.
- 28:56Speaker 2: New York.
- 28:57Speaker 7: Yes, California was second worst. It's a contest between New
- 29:01Speaker 7: York and California to see which can be the most
- 29:04Speaker 7: misrun state in the country.
- 29:06Speaker 2: Wow. So these billionaires. First he goes after Ken Griffin,
- 29:09Speaker 2: and now Steve Roth and other billionaires are joining in
- 29:12Speaker 2: standing up to this crazy mom. Donnie and Steve Roth said,
- 29:16Speaker 2: the way he talks about the billionaires, the terms he uses,
- 29:20Speaker 2: the attitude, it's almost like racial slurs. It's the same.
- 29:23Speaker 2: It's very similar. He's right, isn't he?
- 29:26Speaker 7: You know, it's it's it's it's even more than that.
- 29:29Speaker 7: It's you know, if you ever watch the Batman movies,
- 29:32Speaker 7: you know, Got Them City, the theme is always, oh
- 29:34Speaker 7: that the villain, you know, the Joker is going to
- 29:36Speaker 7: go up to those crazy rich people they tell. You know,
- 29:40Speaker 7: if someone I watched that Mondonnie interview, you know, the
- 29:42Speaker 7: one he's pointing right in the camera, he's got his
- 29:44Speaker 7: face instrument. And if you look at that, and then
- 29:47Speaker 7: you look at the Batman movie with the Joker doing
- 29:49Speaker 7: the same thing in a maniacal laugh, it almost looked
- 29:52Speaker 7: like the two are interchangeable.
- 29:54Speaker 2: Oh that's brilliant. Hey, somebody out there cut that together
- 29:57Speaker 2: and put put that online.
- 29:58Speaker 7: Yeah somebody, Well we did notline a couple of weeks ago,
- 30:02Speaker 7: but it's amazing. No, really, seriously, folks, I can remember
- 30:05Speaker 7: that Amos scene. I think that Heath Leasurer was playing
- 30:08Speaker 7: the joker he wanted. I think he won the ask
- 30:10Speaker 7: roim uh and he was great and he was like, ah,
- 30:13Speaker 7: you know like this maniaco grin is the I going
- 30:15Speaker 7: to destroy the city. And that's exactly what monami was doing.
- 30:19Speaker 7: And you could just interchange the tip.
- 30:21Speaker 2: Hey Steve Moore, Uh, you know years ago you couldn't
- 30:24Speaker 2: build a nuclear plant. The community would be up in arms.
- 30:26Speaker 2: Nobody wanted a nuclear plant. It's the same thing now
- 30:29Speaker 2: with a data center. Why does no community had wanted
- 30:32Speaker 2: data center in their area?
- 30:35Speaker 7: So you're right, this is an amazing uh political it's
- 30:39Speaker 7: a left hand right, it's on the left hand the right.
- 30:41Speaker 7: Communities are rising up against these data centers. And you
- 30:45Speaker 7: know when I ask people, you know why why, oh
- 30:49Speaker 7: you know these are You're going to get cancer from
- 30:51Speaker 7: data centers that are going to get it. You know,
- 30:53Speaker 7: we transmission lines and so on. Well, I live outside
- 30:56Speaker 7: Loudon County in Virginia, which has the largest data center
- 30:59Speaker 7: I mean country, maybe that's the world. It pays about
- 31:03Speaker 7: half of the taxes, and that the county taxes have
- 31:06Speaker 7: gone down, down down on home arts because the data
- 31:08Speaker 7: centers stay so much. It's a major source of jobs.
- 31:11Speaker 7: I don't know. I have to say I don't get
- 31:13Speaker 7: this because then I asked people, Oh you don't want
- 31:15Speaker 7: the data center. I said, do you like your cell phone? Oh? Yeah,
- 31:19Speaker 7: I love my doubt you know your self, well doesn't
- 31:21Speaker 7: work without data centers, you know, So we have to
- 31:24Speaker 7: educate people about you know, why do you say you're right?
- 31:27Speaker 7: They're almost like nuclear power plants. Nobody wants them when
- 31:30Speaker 7: they're actually you've got thousands of construction jobs, you get
- 31:34Speaker 7: all sorts of tax revenors, their economic development for these counties.
- 31:37Speaker 7: And my attitude is, look, if these counties don't want them,
- 31:40Speaker 7: these these tech firms should go to other counties and say, look,
- 31:43Speaker 7: we're offering you ten thousand jobs. We're going to pay
- 31:46Speaker 7: your taxes, We're going to do all these things for
- 31:48Speaker 7: your community. We'll pay for your schools, we'll pay for
- 31:51Speaker 7: your fire department and your police services. And that's the
- 31:55Speaker 7: story of Loudon County. Property task to keep going down, down,
- 31:58Speaker 7: down down in Mount County because they're data centers pay
- 32:02Speaker 7: so much.
- 32:02Speaker 2: Yeah, but what about the argument the data center AI
- 32:05Speaker 2: all that stuff uses thousands of times more electricity. Uh,
- 32:08Speaker 2: and the drains the electricity out of the community.
- 32:11Speaker 7: They do, they do use a lot of electricity. But
- 32:13Speaker 7: even the electric rate charges in these you know, there's
- 32:17Speaker 7: a good study by the Institutent Energy Research showing that
- 32:20Speaker 7: there's no difference between the rates charged by home owners
- 32:23Speaker 7: in areas that they have data centers that don't. I mean,
- 32:26Speaker 7: the data centers pay a lot in electricity costs. They
- 32:30Speaker 7: pay a lot uh in uh as I said, in
- 32:32Speaker 7: property taxes. So I don't quite get this. You know,
- 32:35Speaker 7: these poor communities say we don't have enough jobs and
- 32:37Speaker 7: then say we don't want data centers. I bet Look,
- 32:39Speaker 7: if if these communities don't want them, they shouldn't put
- 32:42Speaker 7: them there. I mean, I'm a populist. If the voters
- 32:43Speaker 7: don't want them, they should put them somewhere else. Maybe,
- 32:46Speaker 7: you know, maybe we're gonna have to put them out
- 32:47Speaker 7: in the in the in the orbit and satellite down
- 32:49Speaker 7: the information, or put them in the middle of the desert.
- 32:51Speaker 7: I don't know, but we need data centers, folks, because
- 32:54Speaker 7: you're you're I can say it again, your cell phone
- 32:57Speaker 7: will not work if we don't have data centers.
- 32:59Speaker 2: You have again, they use so much electricity. Do we
- 33:02Speaker 2: have enough electricity? Can we produce enough to keep these
- 33:04Speaker 2: things going?
- 33:05Speaker 7: We do? We do.
- 33:06Speaker 11: We have to.
- 33:07Speaker 7: We have to use our power. I mean we have
- 33:09Speaker 7: to use our nuclear power. We have to use our
- 33:11Speaker 7: natural gas, we have to use our oil, we have
- 33:13Speaker 7: to use coal everything we've got. But that will be
- 33:15Speaker 7: a big you know, Thank God. By the way, if
- 33:19Speaker 7: Joe Biden will present day, by the way, which there's
- 33:21Speaker 7: no oil and gas and coal, we'd be paying eight
- 33:24Speaker 7: dollars a gallon for gas today.
- 33:27Speaker 2: Yeah, he had us at four million barrels a day.
- 33:29Speaker 2: Trump now has us doing fourteen million barrels a day. Amazing.
- 33:33Speaker 7: It's one of the great economic achievements of our country.
- 33:35Speaker 7: We're the number one produce of oil gas today in
- 33:37Speaker 7: the world.
- 33:37Speaker 2: Wow. Well, Steve Moore, great stuff as always, And everybody
- 33:41Speaker 2: gets Steve Moore's book, The Trump Economic Miracle, and keep
- 33:45Speaker 2: doing that hotline. It's the best daily news briefing analysis right.
- 33:50Speaker 2: It's free. It'll come right to your email. Go sign up.
- 33:53Speaker 2: Go to unleash prosperity dot com. Unleash prosperity dot com.
- 33:58Speaker 2: Steve Moore, thanks for being news.
- 34:00Speaker 7: Oh hey, Kevin Grave weekend, Take.
- 34:02Speaker 2: Up all right, take care hey? At noon today, Buck
- 34:06Speaker 2: and Clay, they do an excellent show every day noon
- 34:09Speaker 2: to three. Then at three o'clock you got the most
- 34:12Speaker 2: listened to radio show in America, Sean Hannity. In fact,
- 34:15Speaker 2: Sean's I think he's going to travel with the President
- 34:19Speaker 2: to China the next week. He'll be on that trip.
- 34:22Speaker 2: And then you got Jesse Kelly at six o'clock. Every
- 34:25Speaker 2: night at nine, it's the great, very funny Jimmy Fayla
- 34:29Speaker 2: every night at nine, and he'll be with us here.
- 34:32Speaker 2: He'll be our guest here in the next hour on
- 34:34Speaker 2: seven to ten. Wry about data centers, they're like nuclear plants.
- 34:41Speaker 2: No community will allow a data center. You need them
- 34:44Speaker 2: to run AI and all that stuff. Even our friend
- 34:47Speaker 2: Kevin O'Leary from Shark Tank, Kevin O'Leary is trying to
- 34:51Speaker 2: open a data center in Utah. All the residents have
- 34:55Speaker 2: gathered together. They packed a big gymnasium yesterday shouting chance
- 34:58Speaker 2: of shame, shame, shame at O'Leary. County commissioners actually pushed
- 35:03Speaker 2: through the approval of the data center because, as we
- 35:06Speaker 2: Steve Moore was just saying it creates thousands of jobs,
- 35:09Speaker 2: it pays the taxes. It's a great thing. But an
- 35:11Speaker 2: AI data center uses a massive amount of electricity, so
- 35:16Speaker 2: that's the argument against him. Oliria, This is going to
- 35:21Speaker 2: be a huge data center, but he's just furious at
- 35:24Speaker 2: fighting these crowds. So it's the new nuclear plant. Nobody
- 35:29Speaker 2: wants these data centers anywhere in the community. It will
- 35:33Speaker 2: actually consume more than twice the electricity currently used by
- 35:36Speaker 2: the entire state of Utah. That's the thing about AI.
- 35:40Speaker 2: It uses a lot of electricity. Hey, we got another
- 35:43Speaker 2: hour to go. Jimmy Faylor will join us in the
- 35:45Speaker 2: next hour.
- 35:46Speaker 3: Mister New York Mark Simone wr.
- 35:56Speaker 2: Well, Hey a lot to get to this hour. So
- 35:58Speaker 2: our crazy mayor, mayor Mom Donnie targeting billionaires. He targets
- 36:04Speaker 2: Ken Griffith, everybody, Ken Griffin. Everybody just thought it was
- 36:07Speaker 2: the creepiest video, especially Ken Griffin. Where Mom Donnie stands
- 36:12Speaker 2: outside of Ken Griffin's house tells everybody where he lives,
- 36:16Speaker 2: makes him a target. You know, this is a couple
- 36:18Speaker 2: of blocks from where the healthcare CEO was shot by
- 36:21Speaker 2: Luigi Mangione. Griffin finally fights back and argues about how creepy.
- 36:28Speaker 2: It was how awful it was for a mayor to
- 36:31Speaker 2: take a private citizen and target him and demonize him.
- 36:36Speaker 2: And this is Ken Griffin, who spent about the three
- 36:38Speaker 2: billion in taxes here and in addition to paying three
- 36:41Speaker 2: billion in taxes, gave to charity here in New York,
- 36:46Speaker 2: donated to charities just here in New York about seven
- 36:49Speaker 2: hundred million. He's building a new project fifty second in part.
- 36:53Speaker 2: It's going to be a big skyscraper, six thousand construction
- 36:57Speaker 2: jobs for the next five years, and then fifteen thousand
- 37:01Speaker 2: permanent jobs. So this kind of guy you want your city.
- 37:05Speaker 2: In fact, if you're the mayor, he should be calling
- 37:07Speaker 2: this guy saying anything we can do to help. Thank
- 37:09Speaker 2: you for building this here. What can we do to help?
- 37:13Speaker 2: That's what you're supposed to do. So now we're not
- 37:16Speaker 2: sure if this project's going to continue. Ken Griffin saying
- 37:18Speaker 2: that he may scale down New York's stuff and make
- 37:24Speaker 2: more stuff in Miami. They did this to Chicago. A
- 37:27Speaker 2: crazy left wing mayor demonized him, targeted him, and he
- 37:31Speaker 2: closed down every business, everything he had in Chicago, that's
- 37:33Speaker 2: where he lived. He closed it all up, moved it
- 37:36Speaker 2: to Miami, and he himself moved to Miami. So Mom,
- 37:40Speaker 2: Donnie finally responded to Ken Griffin.
- 37:42Speaker 15: Now, I want all New Yorkers to succeed. That includes
- 37:46Speaker 15: business owners and entrepreneurs who create good paying jobs, who
- 37:50Speaker 15: make this city the economic engine not just of our state,
- 37:53Speaker 15: but frankly of our country. And that also includes Ken Griffin,
- 37:56Speaker 15: who is a major employer in our city. That does
- 37:59Speaker 15: not the fact, however, that our tax system is fundamentally broken.
- 38:04Speaker 15: It rewards extreme wealth while working people are pushed to
- 38:07Speaker 15: the brink. It is a status quo that is unsustainable,
- 38:11Speaker 15: that is unjust. And if we want the city to
- 38:14Speaker 15: be one that working people can actually afford to live in,
- 38:17Speaker 15: then we need meaningful tax reform that includes the wealthiest
- 38:21Speaker 15: New Yorkers paying their fair share.
- 38:23Speaker 2: Now, everything he's saying is totally erroneous. He's just full
- 38:26Speaker 2: of crap. And it's not that he intends to lie.
- 38:29Speaker 2: He's just like a goofy college kid. He's a college
- 38:32Speaker 2: kid on the college debating team. You know, a kid
- 38:35Speaker 2: who's never worked in the real world, never had a job,
- 38:38Speaker 2: never run anything, never managed anything. And the part about
- 38:41Speaker 2: our tax system rewards the wealthy, not at all. In fact,
- 38:44Speaker 2: under our tax system the way it's set up, though
- 38:47Speaker 2: wealthy pay weight beyond their fair share, they pay all
- 38:50Speaker 2: of it. You know, the top one percent pays like
- 38:53Speaker 2: forty percent of our taxes. The top one percent pays
- 38:58Speaker 2: like forty percent of our taxes. You know, if you're
- 39:01Speaker 2: a billionaire in New York, you're paying like fifty six
- 39:03Speaker 2: percent in taxes between federal, state, local. It's actually unethical,
- 39:09Speaker 2: immoral to take fifty six percent of anybody's money for
- 39:13Speaker 2: any reason. Why taxes should be ten percent, thirty percent
- 39:18Speaker 2: for everybody, ten percent thirty percent for a billionaire. There's
- 39:22Speaker 2: no way on earth you should ever be justified in
- 39:24Speaker 2: taking fifty six percent of somebody's money. And that's why
- 39:29Speaker 2: is Steve Moore reported last hour here that so many
- 39:34Speaker 2: people have left New York and they've moved to you know,
- 39:37Speaker 2: tax fre estates. They've moved to Florida and Texas. And
- 39:41Speaker 2: as he pointed out, the Blue states have lost two
- 39:45Speaker 2: trillion dollars to the Red states. Two trillion has left
- 39:50Speaker 2: the Blue States and gone to the Red States. Now again,
- 39:55Speaker 2: Democrats don't follow the science. Just look at the science.
- 40:00Speaker 2: What they do in these Red states, they have no
- 40:01Speaker 2: state income tax. They make it up with property tax
- 40:03Speaker 2: and other kinds of tax. But they're flourishing. They have
- 40:07Speaker 2: budget surpluses. Their budgets do much better than our budgets.
- 40:12Speaker 2: When you do these crazy tax they're rich things. You
- 40:15Speaker 2: not only destroy your economy, but you got no income
- 40:18Speaker 2: coming in the revenue. Good drops down. It's just simple science.
- 40:21Speaker 2: We've experimented on it thousands and thousands of times. All
- 40:25Speaker 2: you got to do is look at it. Then you
- 40:27Speaker 2: got the other problem with Mom Donnie. As we mentioned before,
- 40:32Speaker 2: the Parquist synagogue targeted by violent radicals, anti Semitic, violent radicals.
- 40:38Speaker 2: The police did what they could, but Mom Donnie let
- 40:40Speaker 2: it go on and on. These guys did the same
- 40:43Speaker 2: thing in Nasa County. Bruce Blakeman sent the police to
- 40:46Speaker 2: stop them, and the whole thing was over in fifteen minutes.
- 40:49Speaker 2: Mam Donnie not only didn't do that, he defended them
- 40:52Speaker 2: as I mean some kind of some kind of rights
- 40:54Speaker 2: under international law, even though there is no such thing
- 40:57Speaker 2: as international law comes to Jews, Mom donnie. He'll try
- 41:02Speaker 2: to say that he's not anti Semitic, he's clearly anti Israel,
- 41:07Speaker 2: but well, here he.
- 41:08Speaker 15: Is, and we have to ensure that Jewish New Yorkers
- 41:12Speaker 15: are safe in this city, and frankly, that the threshold
- 41:16Speaker 15: is not just out of safety, but that they are
- 41:17Speaker 15: celebrated and cherished just as any other New Yorker.
- 41:20Speaker 2: Is that means I'm violent. Thugs show up at the
- 41:23Speaker 2: synagogue to terrorized Jews, and Mom Donnie does not arrest
- 41:27Speaker 2: them and carry them away. So there's another billionaire, Steve Roth.
- 41:32Speaker 2: He's one of the great builders in New York. He
- 41:34Speaker 2: built a lot of stuff all over New York, all
- 41:37Speaker 2: over the place. He's got to build Hutson Yards, among
- 41:39Speaker 2: other things. So he is jumping in to defend Ken Griffin.
- 41:43Speaker 2: Hopefully these guys all band together and do something about
- 41:46Speaker 2: Mom Donnie. But Steve Roth pointing out the way he
- 41:50Speaker 2: targeted Ken Griffin and the way he targets billionaires and
- 41:55Speaker 2: the way he talks about him, with the ugly, sneering
- 41:59Speaker 2: way that he talks about these billionaires is equivalent to
- 42:01Speaker 2: a racial slur. It's bigotry. It's not like these guys
- 42:07Speaker 2: don't pay taxes. They pay more taxes than they should.
- 42:10Speaker 2: They pay more taxes than anybody. Again, the top one
- 42:13Speaker 2: percent pays forty percent of our taxes thirty eight percent
- 42:16Speaker 2: actually of our taxes. It's insane to go after them
- 42:20Speaker 2: like that. But it's out and out bigotry. And you know, Democrats,
- 42:24Speaker 2: when they come up with a narrative, they just go
- 42:27Speaker 2: crazy and they'll give you that, Well, we never said
- 42:31Speaker 2: Trump is Hitler. Yeah you did. You called Trump and
- 42:33Speaker 2: Nazi Hitler a million times. They make up this narrative.
- 42:36Speaker 2: It becomes a chance. Here, take a listen, here's democrats.
- 42:39Speaker 2: These are all major famous Democrats.
- 42:40Speaker 12: Comparing the tactics of Donald Trump to Mussolini and Hitler
- 42:46Speaker 12: are a very legitimate thing.
- 42:48Speaker 13: Donald Trump's got this big rally going at Madison Square Garden.
- 42:53Speaker 2: There's a direct parallel to a big rally that happened
- 42:55Speaker 2: in the mid nineteen thirties at Madison Square Garden.
- 42:58Speaker 8: We have a Simil Hitler white house right now that
- 43:01Speaker 8: thinks that he is going to become the dictator of
- 43:03Speaker 8: the United States.
- 43:05Speaker 2: Well, this goes on for like twenty minutes. I don't
- 43:07Speaker 2: need to play the whole thing for you. You remember that
- 43:08Speaker 2: when they did a rally at Madison Square Garden. If
- 43:11Speaker 2: you're coming to the middle of New York Manhattan, you
- 43:13Speaker 2: want to do a rally. What more logical place? Where
- 43:16Speaker 2: else would you do it? Well, you could do it
- 43:17Speaker 2: at Radio City. Madison Square Garden makes more sense, but
- 43:20Speaker 2: it's more seats. But they said, well, that's because the
- 43:24Speaker 2: Nazis had a rally there in nineteen thirty eight, that
- 43:26Speaker 2: you're obviously a Nazi. Everybody had a rally at Madison
- 43:29Speaker 2: Square Garden. The Clinton's everybody, you know, the Democrats twice,
- 43:34Speaker 2: two different times, held their convention at Madison Square Garden.
- 43:39Speaker 2: Billy Joels at Madison Square Garden, he was there every month.
- 43:41Speaker 2: I make him a Nazi. I mean, it was absolutely ridiculous.
- 43:44Speaker 2: This stuff they concoct and drill into people's heads. So
- 43:48Speaker 2: when you can't believe you're Democratic, friends, the crazy things
- 43:52Speaker 2: they spew, Remember they're just watching MSNBC, CNN all day,
- 43:57Speaker 2: reading the New York Times. They hear all this crazy
- 44:00Speaker 2: stuff and they start to believe it. Speaking of which,
- 44:03Speaker 2: we lost the founder of CNN, Ted Turner, who was
- 44:06Speaker 2: a great guy. He was when he created CNN, he
- 44:11Speaker 2: was a conservative and he wanted it totally neutral. And
- 44:15Speaker 2: when he created CNN, he kept it totally neutral. When
- 44:18Speaker 2: it started, it was just straight news. But It's interesting.
- 44:22Speaker 2: Before CNN, all of our news, from the networks, from
- 44:26Speaker 2: the New York Times, all of our news was controlled
- 44:30Speaker 2: by the Northeast establishment, who were pretty much liberals. The
- 44:33Speaker 2: Northeast establishment controlled every bit of our television news and
- 44:38Speaker 2: our most of our magazine newspaper news. So people got
- 44:42Speaker 2: crazy with Ted Turner because here's a guy from the
- 44:45Speaker 2: South who they thought was a conservative. He was slightly
- 44:48Speaker 2: to the right of center. He was a conservative, but
- 44:51Speaker 2: they went nuts the idea of somebody outside of the
- 44:54Speaker 2: Northeast establishment putting together a news organization. They tried to
- 44:58Speaker 2: stop him, They attacked him, they bad mouthed him. And
- 45:01Speaker 2: for many years CNN was a pretty legitimate news organization.
- 45:05Speaker 2: It was pretty fair and balanced. But in the beginning,
- 45:07Speaker 2: Ted Turner got all this flack, so he hired a
- 45:12Speaker 2: CBS News legend, Daniel Shore CBS News. He had to
- 45:16Speaker 2: go hire Daniel Shore, a liberal CBS News guy, to
- 45:20Speaker 2: be one of his top guys, to reassure people it
- 45:24Speaker 2: wasn't going to be a conservative from the South. Now,
- 45:26Speaker 2: you know, a lot of people point to CNN going bad.
- 45:30Speaker 2: For most of the time, it was pretty down the middle,
- 45:33Speaker 2: pretty straightforward. It went so far to the left. One
- 45:37Speaker 2: of the peak things people point to is CNN came
- 45:41Speaker 2: from Atlanta. It was done from Atlanta. They had a
- 45:44Speaker 2: New York operation, new York studios, new York headquarters, but
- 45:48Speaker 2: probably the majority of it came from the Atlanta studios
- 45:50Speaker 2: in headquarters. And that made a difference because the CNN people,
- 45:55Speaker 2: the executives, the writers, the broadcasters, the report they were
- 45:58Speaker 2: in Atlanta. They were in the middle of a America.
- 46:00Speaker 2: They were in the heartland. They weren't in left wing
- 46:03Speaker 2: DC and left wing Manhattan. So when they closed down
- 46:07Speaker 2: that Atlanta bureau and just did everything for Manhattan, it
- 46:11Speaker 2: definitely took a big, big turn to the left. But Turner,
- 46:16Speaker 2: he's been in bad shape the last few years. He's
- 46:18Speaker 2: said dementia and other things. So I don't think he
- 46:21Speaker 2: knew what really happened to CNN and how bad it got.
- 46:25Speaker 2: But I can't imagine he would have wanted that. He
- 46:29Speaker 2: kind of got pushed out of everything. CNN became part
- 46:32Speaker 2: of Time Warner, and yeah, Time Warner bought it, and
- 46:36Speaker 2: then Time Warner became this big conglomerate and then they
- 46:39Speaker 2: wanted to buy AOL. I think Turner didn't like the
- 46:43Speaker 2: AOL deal. But by then he had been pushed out.
- 46:46Speaker 2: They just shoved him out of the company. Here, take
- 46:49Speaker 2: a listen to Turner.
- 46:50Speaker 9: You know, I've kind of been squeezed out of Time Warner,
- 46:53Speaker 9: out of management roll over the last years. I don't
- 46:56Speaker 9: know why they did it.
- 46:56Speaker 11: I think I was still performing pretty well.
- 46:58Speaker 2: We were making budgets.
- 47:00Speaker 9: We made him billions.
- 47:01Speaker 2: They threw it away with AOL.
- 47:04Speaker 11: But that wasn't completely my fault.
- 47:07Speaker 2: It pushed him out. He was married to Jane Fonda.
- 47:10Speaker 2: That was like the love of his life. Jane Fonda.
- 47:13Speaker 2: For me, it was love at first sight.
- 47:17Speaker 9: So we got married and had a great marriage for
- 47:22Speaker 9: ten years.
- 47:23Speaker 2: As I thought. It was great. Yeah, and then he
- 47:27Speaker 2: did a lot of us at movies, Hollywood, all that stuff.
- 47:30Speaker 2: This is a hoot for me.
- 47:31Speaker 9: I'm really excited about it. I didn't get here for
- 47:36Speaker 9: my acting ability, even though I had a cameo appearance
- 47:39Speaker 9: in both Gettysburg and Gods in Generals.
- 47:43Speaker 2: Yeah, Ted Turner, who was also Let's not forget the
- 47:47Speaker 2: sports side of Ted Turner. It was a great sportsman.
- 47:50Speaker 2: He was a big sailor. He was always I think
- 47:54Speaker 2: he won too the America's Cup Race, the sailing race,
- 47:57Speaker 2: big part of his life. And then when he made
- 47:59Speaker 2: a fortune with everything, he bought the Atlanta Braves and
- 48:02Speaker 2: he bought another team, but didn't the Atlanta Braves win
- 48:05Speaker 2: the World Series? I think under Ted Turner. Yeah, so
- 48:09Speaker 2: got to give him credit. How many guys buy a team,
- 48:12Speaker 2: a baseball team and then win the World Series? Steve Cohen,
- 48:16Speaker 2: how many guys do that? It's not easy to do.
- 48:19Speaker 2: But he was just an amazing guy. Dead yesterday at
- 48:22Speaker 2: the age of eighty seven. Also, it should be pointed
- 48:25Speaker 2: out phenomenal philanthropist gave away I think like one point
- 48:29Speaker 2: four billion in his lifetime. The only one I didn't
- 48:33Speaker 2: like memory gave that ridiculous amount of money, hundreds and
- 48:36Speaker 2: hundreds and hundreds of millions to the un But outside
- 48:42Speaker 2: of that, there were pretty good donations. Hey, they're always
- 48:44Speaker 2: looking for revenue everywhere in New York and they want
- 48:47Speaker 2: to tax people. You know what you got to do.
- 48:51Speaker 2: Just tax every bicycle, every electric scooter. Just tax them.
- 48:56Speaker 2: You know they just drive around with no license. Make
- 49:01Speaker 2: them get licenses. You can charge money a yearly renewal
- 49:03Speaker 2: for the license. Start ticketing them. That's what I mean
- 49:06Speaker 2: by tax them. Just ticket them. They're always up on
- 49:09Speaker 2: the sidewalk, they're always going through lights, they're always in
- 49:12Speaker 2: the wrong lane. Just start ticketing them. The other thing
- 49:14Speaker 2: is those stupid petty cabs. Actually just get rid of
- 49:17Speaker 2: those things or restrict them to Central Park. But these
- 49:20Speaker 2: New York City petty caps are a traffic nightmare. They're
- 49:25Speaker 2: always blaring that loud music. New York state of mind
- 49:28Speaker 2: is always blaring out there driving by their mostly illegals
- 49:32Speaker 2: running those things. But the city is now talking about,
- 49:36Speaker 2: actually the city council is looking at cracking down on
- 49:39Speaker 2: those petty cabs because they're also robbing people left and right.
- 49:43Speaker 2: They're just out and out. I can't say all of them,
- 49:45Speaker 2: but many of them are out and out crooks. Those
- 49:48Speaker 2: city councils trying to put together legislation to beef up
- 49:51Speaker 2: the oversight require meters. Do you know sometimes they charge tourists.
- 49:56Speaker 2: A tourist gets in, you know, another country that barely
- 50:00Speaker 2: he knows the language, and they end up charging them
- 50:02Speaker 2: a thousand dollars. They menace them and demand one thousand dollars.
- 50:05Speaker 2: It's been going on all the time, and there's about
- 50:09Speaker 2: they say, there's about eight hundred and fifty of them licensed.
- 50:13Speaker 2: There's eight hundred and fifty licensed petticaps, but they believe
- 50:18Speaker 2: there's another fifteen hundred unlicensed operating all over Manhattan. That's unbelievable.
- 50:25Speaker 2: So you want some revenue, go after these guys. If
- 50:28Speaker 2: they're charging people one thousand dollars, go after them. Hey,
- 50:32Speaker 2: if you're a pizza lover or a bagel lover. A
- 50:35Speaker 2: lot of people got very upset at this story that
- 50:39Speaker 2: came out yesterday. The is it also the city council. Yeah,
- 50:43Speaker 2: the City of New York wants to ban certain and
- 50:47Speaker 2: a couple ingredients that are used in all bagels and
- 50:50Speaker 2: all pizza. They feel it can cause cancer. New York
- 50:54Speaker 2: state lawmakers want to ban this ingredient. It's in every
- 50:58Speaker 2: pizza and in every bagel. It's potassium bromate. Now, I've
- 51:05Speaker 2: asked pizza makers, bagel makers. They all say it shouldn't
- 51:10Speaker 2: affect anything. They don't believe it'll change the taste of anything.
- 51:14Speaker 2: It's used to help the flower rise, so unless they
- 51:18Speaker 2: find a suitable replacement, it could affect the texture. But
- 51:21Speaker 2: these guys don't think it's going to affect the taste.
- 51:24Speaker 2: And let's be honest. Did you ever order a pizza
- 51:27Speaker 2: and ask for give me extra potassium bromate? Nobody even
- 51:31Speaker 2: knew it was there, so don't be so panicky. They
- 51:34Speaker 2: say it won't affect anything. He We'll take some calls.
- 51:36Speaker 2: Next eight hundred three to two one zero seven ten
- 51:40Speaker 2: is the number. Eight hundred three to two one zero
- 51:44Speaker 2: seven ten. Get instant access to Mark by setting a
- 51:48Speaker 2: freeset in the iHeartRadio app for his live show and
- 51:52Speaker 2: his podcast.
- 51:53Speaker 3: Now back to the Man Simone Show on wor.
- 51:58Speaker 2: Hey, let's take some calls. Let's go to Mary Anne
- 52:02Speaker 2: in Connecticut. Mary Anne, how you doing.
- 52:04Speaker 1: Oh, good morning, Mark, Thank you for taking my call.
- 52:07Speaker 1: I just wanted to tell you, fear not, you will
- 52:10Speaker 1: have your pizza and your bagels. There are plenty of
- 52:13Speaker 1: unbromiated flowers out there on the market. Oh, my husband
- 52:17Speaker 1: and I own a pizzeria, a restaurant, Lombardi's Tratzaria in
- 52:22Speaker 1: will And Redding, Connecticut, and we use unbromeated flower from
- 52:27Speaker 1: Italy called double zero.
- 52:29Speaker 2: But that's probably more expensive to use than the regular stuff.
- 52:32Speaker 1: Right, slightly, But it's not the difference is not It's
- 52:35Speaker 1: not a problem.
- 52:36Speaker 2: And what does that potassium bromite. Actually, do.
- 52:40Speaker 1: You know, I really don't have any idea. Something they
- 52:42Speaker 1: started adding I think was around World War two into
- 52:46Speaker 1: the flowers to make me perhaps to make them rise faster.
- 52:50Speaker 1: I'm really not sure about that. But we know that
- 52:53Speaker 1: that's not healthy for you, so we don't use it
- 52:56Speaker 1: at all, and you don't have to use it because
- 52:58Speaker 1: there's plenty of flowers on the market that don't have
- 53:01Speaker 1: that are not romeated.
- 53:02Speaker 2: Very good, excellent, Yeah, good to hear from an expert.
- 53:05Speaker 2: What's the name of your place? Excuse me, what's the
- 53:08Speaker 2: name of your place?
- 53:09Speaker 1: Lombardess Lombardi's Trataria, Redding, Connecticut.
- 53:13Speaker 2: Beautiful town, reading right next to Ridge Fie.
- 53:15Speaker 1: Yes, we do a traditional Italian wood burning oven.
- 53:19Speaker 2: Very good. All right, Well, thanks for calling. Excellent call.
- 53:22Speaker 2: Let's go to David in Connecticut. David, how you doing good?
- 53:27Speaker 7: Mark? Thanks?
- 53:28Speaker 13: I got this question which drives me crazy about this
- 53:31Speaker 13: ambiguous fair share.
- 53:33Speaker 2: How much is the fair share? They never tell you
- 53:35Speaker 2: what the fair share is? Well again, right now, if
- 53:38Speaker 2: you're a billionaire, you're paying about fifty six fifty six
- 53:41Speaker 2: fifty seven percent. If you're living in New York. That
- 53:43Speaker 2: sounds like way hip of it. Nobody should be paying
- 53:45Speaker 2: that amount. That's immoral to take that much money from somebody.
- 53:48Speaker 2: And again, the top one percent is paying thirty eight
- 53:53Speaker 2: percent of the taxes, which is a little that's way
- 53:56Speaker 2: beyond their fair share. Let's go to Sergio in New Jersey.
- 54:02Speaker 7: I am it is New York State? An MRI.
- 54:06Speaker 2: What's all that noise?
- 54:09Speaker 7: Oh? Machine, ay going on?
- 54:10Speaker 2: Oh okay, I'm gonna work.
- 54:14Speaker 7: New York says it's in a huge posit of natural gas.
- 54:19Speaker 11: Yeah it could happy.
- 54:21Speaker 2: Yeah, it's a very good point, sirt Yo. You know,
- 54:23Speaker 2: thanks to Andrew Cuomo, your electric bill went up like
- 54:26Speaker 2: four hundred percent. You know, remember your electric bill was
- 54:30Speaker 2: like one hundred dollars now it's three hundred. That's Andrew
- 54:33Speaker 2: Cuomo that did that. He banned fracking, no natural gas.
- 54:37Speaker 2: He shut down Indian Point, our nuclear plant that's twenty
- 54:40Speaker 2: five percent of our electricity, and those two things have
- 54:43Speaker 2: major electric bill go sky high. That's why that happened.
- 54:48Speaker 2: Let's go to Mike in Florida. Mike, how you doing,
- 54:51Speaker 2: Good morning, Mark, that's Mike.
- 54:53Speaker 11: These lawmakers make me.
- 54:56Speaker 2: Ye, did we lose mic can? Yeah? Go ahead.
- 55:02Speaker 11: So they want to get rid of an additive that
- 55:04Speaker 11: may or may not get rid of cancered these lawmakers.
- 55:07Speaker 11: But the same lawmakers want to allow people food stamp
- 55:10Speaker 11: recipients to die soda. So which is more damaging some
- 55:14Speaker 11: kid who's raised on soda. So we have his kid,
- 55:17Speaker 11: you know, his chief fall out, and we have to
- 55:18Speaker 11: pay for that as taxpayers, and then he gets diabetes
- 55:21Speaker 11: and we have to pay for his care for that.
- 55:23Speaker 11: So they're just so self righteously wrong all the time.
- 55:27Speaker 2: Yeah, that's a good point. They're usually wrong about everything.
- 55:29Speaker 2: Great call Mike. You know, you know, the great job
- 55:32Speaker 2: would be be a laboratory rat because that's what they test.
- 55:35Speaker 2: You know, if you're a laboratory rat, they keep giving
- 55:38Speaker 2: you soda, pizza, bagels. I mean, it's only good stuff
- 55:42Speaker 2: they test you. Let's go to Mike in Memphis, Tennessee. Mike,
- 55:45Speaker 2: how you doing, great?
- 55:49Speaker 16: Good Mark, Good morning. Hey all this talk about corresponds
- 55:52Speaker 16: to dinner and the roads. You gotta be curious. So
- 55:55Speaker 16: I looked up the very first Priors roast on YouTube
- 55:59Speaker 16: and it was with Johnny Carson getting roasted.
- 56:03Speaker 2: Well, actually, actually the first first Friars roast was about
- 56:07Speaker 2: nineteen sixteen. The Carson roast was in the late sixties.
- 56:10Speaker 16: Oh no, no, I mean televised.
- 56:12Speaker 2: Well, actually the first televised roast. They did a couple
- 56:15Speaker 2: in the fifties. One was for Ed Sullivan, one was
- 56:17Speaker 2: for Humphrey Bogart. But the Carson roast is on YouTube.
- 56:20Speaker 2: It's great nineteen sixty eight, sixty.
- 56:23Speaker 16: Nine set sixty eight. Yeah, but it was amazing to
- 56:28Speaker 16: see Groucho Marks there and Flip Wilson. But the interesting
- 56:33Speaker 16: thing for me was, I've always wondered who Curtis lee
- 56:36Speaker 16: Will reminded me of his voice. Yeah, Alan King was
- 56:40Speaker 16: the host and Alan King and Curtis to me sound
- 56:43Speaker 16: exactly a life.
- 56:47Speaker 2: I don't know about that Alan King similarity, but Alan
- 56:49Speaker 2: King they were. They were kind of loud. They would talk.
- 56:53Speaker 2: There was a loudness to them, I mean in a
- 56:55Speaker 2: good way. That that was just one of the secrets
- 56:57Speaker 2: of Valentine exactly.
- 56:58Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 56:58Speaker 2: Yeah, Alan King's delivery.
- 57:00Speaker 16: But it's worth watching. And of course it was absolutely
- 57:03Speaker 16: hilarious with Don Reckles on there too.
- 57:05Speaker 2: Yeah. There's actually three of those. There's three of those.
- 57:10Speaker 2: It was the same group. They would just switch. So
- 57:13Speaker 2: there's a Johnny Carson roast in the next day they
- 57:15Speaker 2: would tape another one where Don Rickles was the guy
- 57:18Speaker 2: being roasted. It was the great Gary Smith, the producer. Yeah,
- 57:22Speaker 2: they're all on YouTube. Just type Friars Roast YouTube and
- 57:25Speaker 2: they're up there. Same thing with the Dean Martin Ross.
- 57:28Speaker 7: You know.
- 57:28Speaker 2: They would fly like fifteen celebrities to Las Vegas and
- 57:32Speaker 2: they would tape like eight roasts. They would just keep
- 57:34Speaker 2: switching who was being roasted. It was the same group.
- 57:37Speaker 2: Let's go to Tony in White Plains. Tony, how you doing?
- 57:40Speaker 14: Yeah, Hi, Mark, Mark. I thought of a good commercial
- 57:44Speaker 14: for our mid time elections for the Republicans. You take
- 57:48Speaker 14: every montage that you could think of that you need
- 57:51Speaker 14: an ID for, and you put him into, you know,
- 57:53Speaker 14: to a sequence, and you show him on TV. And
- 57:56Speaker 14: then you showed this little old lady. She's shopping in
- 57:58Speaker 14: a supermarket. She got a crock full of groceries there.
- 58:01Speaker 14: She puts them on the counter and the clerk says,
- 58:04Speaker 14: I'll have to get that. She's got a six pack
- 58:06Speaker 14: of beer. She picks it up. She says, I see
- 58:09Speaker 14: your ID.
- 58:09Speaker 2: Yeah. Well, actually the montage exists. It's been done online
- 58:12Speaker 2: a million times. It's more done like a list. On
- 58:15Speaker 2: one side you'll see four hundred things that you need
- 58:17Speaker 2: an ID for, and the other side you'll just see
- 58:19Speaker 2: one thing what you don't need an ID for. Voting. Hey,
- 58:24Speaker 2: when we come back. The great comedian Jimmy Fayla. He's
- 58:27Speaker 2: on WR every night nine to midnight. Also does the
- 58:30Speaker 2: Best late night Show Fox on Saturday night ten o'clock.
- 58:34Speaker 2: But we'll talk to him next on seven to ten WR.
- 58:38Speaker 3: It's the Mark Simoon Show on seven ten WR.
- 58:42Speaker 2: Well, the great Jimmy Fayler, the great talk show host, comedian.
- 58:45Speaker 2: You can hear him every night at nine o'clock, nine
- 58:48Speaker 2: to midnight, every night here on seven ten WR, and
- 58:51Speaker 2: watch them Saturday Night's best late night show on TV
- 58:54Speaker 2: Saturday nights at ten Fox News Channel. Jimmy Fayla, how
- 58:57Speaker 2: you doing?
- 59:00Speaker 3: I'm doing great. I did not know until a week
- 59:02Speaker 3: ago that in addition to being mister New York you're
- 59:05Speaker 3: also mister matchmaker. So can I just tell a two
- 59:08Speaker 3: second story? Mark Simone? Okay, last week we're taping Fox
- 59:12Speaker 3: News Saturday night. I have the Riza there from the
- 59:15Speaker 3: Wu Tang Plan, which you don't get a lot of
- 59:17Speaker 3: Wu Tang Plan on Fox News.
- 59:18Speaker 7: I don't know if you know that that.
- 59:21Speaker 3: Kind of the beauty of my show. But anyway, there
- 59:24Speaker 3: is a couple in the back of my show that
- 59:26Speaker 3: has been listening to me on your show that came
- 59:29Speaker 3: to my show and they had just gotten engaged and
- 59:33Speaker 3: this was their first This is their first out night
- 59:36Speaker 3: out getting engaged. So I said, it doesn't sound like
- 59:40Speaker 3: you're having a really nice wedding if he's taking you
- 59:42Speaker 3: to cheap dates like this. But the point is this
- 59:45Speaker 3: all happened because of Mark Simone.
- 59:47Speaker 2: Well, I don't know.
- 59:48Speaker 13: I don't know.
- 59:48Speaker 3: I don't I don't know if you're going to be
- 59:49Speaker 3: in the wedding downs. I don't know how this works,
- 59:51Speaker 3: but I had to share.
- 59:52Speaker 2: That with you. There you go, Jimmy Fayla. It's the
- 59:55Speaker 2: best late night show until he tapes it Friday evening.
- 59:57Speaker 2: So if you want to come, the tickets are free.
- 1:00:00Speaker 2: You can invite somebody. This is a perfect date. You
- 1:00:02Speaker 2: don't have to tell him it was free, you know,
- 1:00:05Speaker 2: just bring them.
- 1:00:07Speaker 3: Yeah, I hope I didn't get that guy in trouble
- 1:00:09Speaker 3: now that now you think about it, because I go,
- 1:00:11Speaker 3: oh wow, so he's taking you to free shows. He's
- 1:00:13Speaker 3: already given up. You're not even married yet. That's a
- 1:00:15Speaker 3: good point. I might I might have just ruined the marriage.
- 1:00:17Speaker 3: You got him together. I broke him off over that.
- 1:00:19Speaker 2: So bring your date to see Jimmy Faylor. They tape
- 1:00:22Speaker 2: in the middle of Manhattan here and don't say it's free,
- 1:00:25Speaker 2: just say, hey, range for us to go see Jimmy fail.
- 1:00:27Speaker 2: It's a great night. Where do you go to get
- 1:00:29Speaker 2: the tickets?
- 1:00:31Speaker 3: Uh? Fox across America dot Com, Fox free seats, Come
- 1:00:35Speaker 3: hang out, see the Fox people, all the fun.
- 1:00:38Speaker 2: Stuff it is. Hey, do you know Stephen Colbert goes
- 1:00:41Speaker 2: off the year in two weeks? Will you miss him?
- 1:00:43Speaker 2: I won't miss something.
- 1:00:46Speaker 3: Talk about addition by subtraction. You know, now we've talked
- 1:00:52Speaker 3: about this. They they need to replace him. They're putting
- 1:00:55Speaker 3: Byron Allen in there with a show called Comics Unleashed,
- 1:00:58Speaker 3: which is really gonna throw their viewers for a curve
- 1:01:01Speaker 3: because there'll be comedy there and they, you know, they
- 1:01:05Speaker 3: haven't aired a comedy show in that time slot, and
- 1:01:07Speaker 3: I guess about fifteen years or whatever the heck it
- 1:01:09Speaker 3: was when Letterman left and got cranky, but for comics,
- 1:01:14Speaker 3: like seriously, well, he was so bad for us because
- 1:01:18Speaker 3: you know traditional late night shows, Mark, we'll have comedians on.
- 1:01:21Speaker 3: You know, the big break was going on Parson doing
- 1:01:23Speaker 3: a set and if you liked you, that kind of
- 1:01:25Speaker 3: made your career. Colbert didn't do that for comics, okay,
- 1:01:29Speaker 3: And when he had comedians on, they were pre taped
- 1:01:32Speaker 3: segments where he wasn't even there.
- 1:01:34Speaker 7: Really, they were just.
- 1:01:35Speaker 3: Dropping this stuff in the show. You know, it's completely fake,
- 1:01:38Speaker 3: and it just it didn't help comics. He's the one
- 1:01:40Speaker 3: late night host who actually helped no one.
- 1:01:45Speaker 7: Literally know and maybe Chuck Schumer, I don't know.
- 1:01:48Speaker 2: Hey, I know you gotta go, you gotta run. But
- 1:01:50Speaker 2: so Jimmy fails on w o R nine to midnight
- 1:01:54Speaker 2: every night. What do you got tonight? On the show?
- 1:01:57Speaker 7: Tonight's I hear her?
- 1:01:58Speaker 11: So got another?
- 1:02:00Speaker 3: I'm supposed to have Eric, I believe tonight according to
- 1:02:03Speaker 3: my according to my book or Mikey. He comes on
- 1:02:05Speaker 3: once in a while and apologizes for whatever Lara does.
- 1:02:09Speaker 3: I'm kidding, She's great, so him and Uh, I'm waiting
- 1:02:14Speaker 3: for a callback from Tom Holman because I had his
- 1:02:16Speaker 3: personal trainer on yesterday. And what happens is every time
- 1:02:19Speaker 3: every time I tell a Tom Holman joke. He usually
- 1:02:21Speaker 3: calls and threatens my life, and he hasn't threatened me yet,
- 1:02:24Speaker 3: so I'm assuming he's calling into the show.
- 1:02:27Speaker 2: So I'll keep you posted. All right, now, so you
- 1:02:29Speaker 2: have to leave early. Where do you have to go now,
- 1:02:30Speaker 2: you're going to do something.
- 1:02:31Speaker 3: I'm supposed to go do a TV hit on Harris's show,
- 1:02:33Speaker 3: But every.
- 1:02:34Speaker 7: Time they do this to me, at the last minute.
- 1:02:36Speaker 3: I get makeup, I run down to the set and
- 1:02:38Speaker 3: then Trump starts talking and they cover that for the
- 1:02:41Speaker 3: next hour and starting minutes.
- 1:02:42Speaker 2: We'll call us back. No, we're here.
- 1:02:44Speaker 3: Nope, I'll clay from the makeup chair.
- 1:02:48Speaker 2: All right, Well, Jimmy Fala always great checking in with you,
- 1:02:51Speaker 2: and we'll be listening tonight at nine and watch the
- 1:02:55Speaker 2: TV show Saturday nights at ten. And you go to
- 1:02:57Speaker 2: Fox across America. You can get tickets to be in
- 1:02:59Speaker 2: the audience. It's great and it's free. Right, all right,
- 1:03:02Speaker 2: good luck, We'll talk to you soon.
- 1:03:04Speaker 7: Good stuff, mister matchmaker, Thank you, take care.
- 1:03:08Speaker 2: Thanks. Yeah, this is a short one because he has
- 1:03:11Speaker 2: to go do a TV show. You know, I was
- 1:03:13Speaker 2: on Fox yesterday. I was on Cudlow yesterday. It's don't
- 1:03:19Speaker 2: tell anybody, but I never get any makeup. I can't
- 1:03:22Speaker 2: stand makeup. There's like six makeup chairs, six makeup of
- 1:03:26Speaker 2: people there, and if they ever say do you need me, no, No,
- 1:03:29Speaker 2: I got it from her. And if she comes over, no,
- 1:03:32Speaker 2: I got it from him. So I avoid makeup that way.
- 1:03:36Speaker 2: But I watched some of these guests. They get there
- 1:03:38Speaker 2: early and they go sit in this makeup chair for
- 1:03:43Speaker 2: like forty five minutes. I don't know what the hell
- 1:03:45Speaker 2: they're doing. For forty five minutes, the woman is brushing
- 1:03:48Speaker 2: stuff on their face, using a sponge on their face,
- 1:03:50Speaker 2: and they're wiping this and taking that eyebrow pancil there.
- 1:03:55Speaker 2: I can't stand that. It's just it's off. Now, you
- 1:04:00Speaker 2: sit there for forty minutes, you get all this goop
- 1:04:02Speaker 2: put all over your face. Then you go on for
- 1:04:05Speaker 2: eight minutes, and then you got the two choices. You
- 1:04:10Speaker 2: can walk around with this because it looks pretty good.
- 1:04:12Speaker 2: They got great makeup people, looks great. You can walk
- 1:04:15Speaker 2: around with that for the rest of the night. But
- 1:04:18Speaker 2: you know there's certain TV people who do that, and
- 1:04:22Speaker 2: problem is you go out in the daylight. You look
- 1:04:24Speaker 2: kind of ridiculous. It looks good, but they can see
- 1:04:26Speaker 2: you got makeup on all over your face, or you
- 1:04:29Speaker 2: got to get that those wipes with all that goop
- 1:04:32Speaker 2: on them and wipe all this makeup off. That takes
- 1:04:35Speaker 2: five minutes. So don't tell anybody, but I never have
- 1:04:37Speaker 2: any makeup on television. And it's been years and years
- 1:04:41Speaker 2: and years of doing millions and millions and millions of
- 1:04:43Speaker 2: shows at all these places. Nobody's ever said anything, nobody's
- 1:04:47Speaker 2: ever noticed. And watch carefully next time a month. You
- 1:04:51Speaker 2: can't see any difference, not really. So hey, we're talking
- 1:04:54Speaker 2: about Colbert. He had Obama on? Was it last night
- 1:04:59Speaker 2: of the Night before? You wonder why this guy has
- 1:05:01Speaker 2: no ratings and why the show loses twenty or thirty
- 1:05:04Speaker 2: million a year. I guess it's a big thing to
- 1:05:07Speaker 2: have Obama on. But have him on the set, you know,
- 1:05:10Speaker 2: have him come out, you introduce him, the audience is there.
- 1:05:13Speaker 2: He makes a few jokes, it's cute, it's funny. It
- 1:05:17Speaker 2: was taped at the Obama library or the Obama conference
- 1:05:21Speaker 2: Center something. It was a dead serious interview, Obama lecturing America.
- 1:05:27Speaker 2: Nothing funny in it. Him and Colbert in an empty room,
- 1:05:31Speaker 2: pontificating serious. This is why the guy's going off the
- 1:05:34Speaker 2: air and Jimmy fail is right. It was supposed to
- 1:05:37Speaker 2: be late night comedy. Was Steve Allen, it was Jack Parr,
- 1:05:40Speaker 2: it was Johnny Carson, it was Jay Leno. It was Letterman.
- 1:05:43Speaker 2: Oh theough Letterman went nuts at the end. You remember
- 1:05:46Speaker 2: Letterman had very good ratings. He was actually beaten the
- 1:05:49Speaker 2: Tonight show. Then he took a sharp turn to the
- 1:05:51Speaker 2: left and became an angry left wing guy on the air,
- 1:05:54Speaker 2: and that was kind of it for him. His ratings
- 1:05:58Speaker 2: dropped in half, and that's why he pretty much gone.
- 1:06:02Speaker 2: He speaking to Kimmel a lot of Colbert's going off
- 1:06:07Speaker 2: the year because there has no ratings, no ratings, and
- 1:06:11Speaker 2: they've been losing money. The show loses about twenty or
- 1:06:13Speaker 2: thirty million a year. It's the same thing with Kimmel,
- 1:06:16Speaker 2: no ratings at all. Remember he got suspended for a
- 1:06:19Speaker 2: week and when he was suspended for the weekend, they
- 1:06:22Speaker 2: decided to just throw on a reruns of a game
- 1:06:24Speaker 2: show instead. That got triple the ratings triple, So it
- 1:06:30Speaker 2: could happen at any moment. They only signed a one
- 1:06:33Speaker 2: year extension with him. It could happen at any moment.
- 1:06:36Speaker 2: They announced getting rid of Kimmel because with a one
- 1:06:39Speaker 2: year extension, you can cancel anytime. The worst that happens,
- 1:06:42Speaker 2: you have to pay off the rest of the year
- 1:06:45Speaker 2: on that contract. But that's pretty much what the severance
- 1:06:47Speaker 2: would be anyway, so he could get canceled at any point.
- 1:06:50Speaker 2: So a lot of nervous left wing kooks all over
- 1:06:54Speaker 2: Los Angeles have started putting up billboards and signs. Actually
- 1:07:00Speaker 2: looks like the crazygroup move on dot org is part
- 1:07:03Speaker 2: of this. They're targeting Disney and ABC offices. It's billboards
- 1:07:09Speaker 2: demanding that Kimmel stay on the air, protect free speech,
- 1:07:14Speaker 2: stand against FCC censorship. So not only billboards, but they've
- 1:07:19Speaker 2: this costs a lot of money. They've got mobile billboards
- 1:07:21Speaker 2: that you can drive around, so they're driving them around
- 1:07:25Speaker 2: Disney headquarters, Disney, ABC Television, ABC seven, Disney's corporate office
- 1:07:31Speaker 2: in Burbank, California, so a lot of locations for Disney
- 1:07:34Speaker 2: out there, so they keep driving them around. Just it's
- 1:07:39Speaker 2: kind of a secret, a little bit of a veiled
- 1:07:41Speaker 2: threat to these executives that if you take them off,
- 1:07:45Speaker 2: we're going to be picketing you. We're going to be
- 1:07:46Speaker 2: outside your doors all the time, and interesting. So you
- 1:07:52Speaker 2: know all these billionaires moving to Florida. Elon Musk, that's
- 1:07:57Speaker 2: the last guy you thought would move to Miami. But
- 1:08:00Speaker 2: Elon Musk seen touring a new property. It's a mansion
- 1:08:05Speaker 2: under construction. It's expected to be one of the most
- 1:08:07Speaker 2: expensive mansions in Florida, three hundred million. It's still into construction.
- 1:08:13Speaker 2: But Elon Musk was seen touring the property, so he
- 1:08:17Speaker 2: may be the next to actually move there. Well, anyway, hey,
- 1:08:22Speaker 2: don't forget coming up at noon today, Buck and Clay.
- 1:08:25Speaker 2: They do a great show every day at twelve noon,
- 1:08:28Speaker 2: then at three o'clock you got the most listened to
- 1:08:30Speaker 2: radio show in America. Sean Hannity got Jesse Kelly every
- 1:08:34Speaker 2: night at six and as we just heard Jimmy Fayla
- 1:08:37Speaker 2: at nine, and Curtis is back. You can hear Curtis
- 1:08:40Speaker 2: Sleewan now every morning with Larry MENTI six to ten,
- 1:08:44Speaker 2: on seven to ten WR on.
- 1:08:48Speaker 3: Seven ten WR.
- 1:08:50Speaker 11: He's more of the Marks Emo show.
- 1:08:55Speaker 2: Well, you know every year they have that big Berkshire
- 1:08:59Speaker 2: Hathaway Conference. That's where Warren Buffett and for many years
- 1:09:04Speaker 2: as partner Charlie Munger, they would sit up there and
- 1:09:06Speaker 2: take questions from the audience and give these detailed answers
- 1:09:10Speaker 2: and they would go these question answer things would go
- 1:09:12Speaker 2: for hours and hours and hours, and people would come
- 1:09:15Speaker 2: from all over the world because it was fascinating stuff.
- 1:09:19Speaker 2: They're all on YouTube, by the way, go watch them.
- 1:09:23Speaker 2: The Berkshire Hathaway Conference, the yearly shareholders meeting where Buffett
- 1:09:26Speaker 2: answers questions because it's the answers. You want a real
- 1:09:30Speaker 2: education in investing in business and fascinating stuff. They're all
- 1:09:34Speaker 2: on YouTube. You can just watch them for hours. But
- 1:09:38Speaker 2: one hundred thousand people show up for this every year.
- 1:09:40Speaker 2: They use a stadium, then they have to have another
- 1:09:42Speaker 2: stadium for overflow where they watch it on video. Well,
- 1:09:45Speaker 2: Buffett retired and greg Abel doing a good job. He
- 1:09:49Speaker 2: took over. But they finally had the shareholders meeting first time.
- 1:09:53Speaker 2: Buffett wasn't there in sixty years, and the attendants dropped dramatic, dramatically.
- 1:10:03Speaker 2: It was half full, no overflow room. The stadium was
- 1:10:07Speaker 2: half full. It's not the same without Buffet there, and
- 1:10:13Speaker 2: they talked about it's probably his best investment Apple apple stock,
- 1:10:18Speaker 2: the initial Apple stock. They bought thirty five billion worth
- 1:10:23Speaker 2: of applestock grew to be one hundred and eighty five billion.
- 1:10:27Speaker 2: That's a pretty good that's one hundred and fifty billion
- 1:10:29Speaker 2: dollar gains just on the Apple stock and if they
- 1:10:32Speaker 2: had hung on to it a little longer. That's one
- 1:10:34Speaker 2: thing about Buffett. He's cautious and sometimes sells too early. Hey,
- 1:10:38Speaker 2: we're out of time, but i'll be back tomorrow. I'm
- 1:10:41Speaker 2: here every day ten to noon, or you can listen anytime.
- 1:10:44Speaker 2: Just get the podcast and remember on the weekends there's
- 1:10:47Speaker 2: a bonus show for podcast listeners. I'll see you tomorrow
- 1:10:50Speaker 2: on seven to ten wo
