Latest / The 47 Morning Update with Ben Ferguson / Bombshell Developments in Michigan & Alaska—One Day until Election Day
Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Welcome. It is Verdict with Senator Ted Cruz, Ben Ferguson
- 0:04Speaker 1: with you. Senator, I tell you, I get excited. This
- 0:07Speaker 1: is our last show before Election Day. I also get
- 0:10Speaker 1: nervous because you and I have done midterms before and
- 0:13Speaker 1: I had those same feelings that I had before the
- 0:16Speaker 1: last midterm you and I did with this show. You've
- 0:19Speaker 1: been barnstorming the country. We're going to cover it all.
- 0:22Speaker 1: And there's been some late breaking news in some of
- 0:25Speaker 1: these big Senate races as well.
- 0:27Speaker 2: Well, it is the day before Election Day. Tomorrow is
- 0:32Speaker 2: the midterm elections. If you have not voted, if you've
- 0:35Speaker 2: not voted early, whatever you are doing, make sure to
- 0:40Speaker 2: come out and vote. It's all about turnout. It's all
- 0:42Speaker 2: about turnout all over the country. I believe this is
- 0:46Speaker 2: the most consequential midterm election of our lifetime. The state
- 0:51Speaker 2: of Texas where you and I both live, it is
- 0:53Speaker 2: neck and neck. We could end up facing a disaster
- 0:57Speaker 2: in Texas. if conservatives don't vote, if common sense Texans
- 1:01Speaker 2: don't vote. And so whatever you're planning on doing tomorrow,
- 1:06Speaker 2: don't just come out and vote. Bring two, three, four,
- 1:08Speaker 2: five other people to vote with you. Turnout, turnout, turnout
- 1:12Speaker 2: is the entire ballgame. And we've got a couple of
- 1:15Speaker 2: big bombshell developments. Number one in Michigan, massive news just
- 1:20Speaker 2: broke in the Michigan Senate race. an enormously consequential race.
- 1:24Speaker 2: We also had massive news break in the Alaska Senate race.
- 1:28Speaker 2: We're going to cover it all on today's verdict.
- 1:30Speaker 1: Yeah, before we get to that, I want to talk
- 1:32Speaker 1: to you about an amazing opportunity for you to help
- 1:34Speaker 1: someone who's in need. If you're going to change someone's life,
- 1:38Speaker 1: you want to know what actually lasts. And that's one
- 1:40Speaker 1: reason Compassion International has become one of the most trusted
- 1:44Speaker 1: child development ministries in the world. Now, independent research shows
- 1:48Speaker 1: children sponsored through Compassion stay in school longer. And this
- 1:52Speaker 1: is incredible, especially when you're talking about like third world countries,
- 1:56Speaker 1: countries that deal with extreme poverty. They are 40% more
- 2:00Speaker 1: likely to graduate high school and 80% more likely to
- 2:04Speaker 1: finish college. That is what happens with Compassion International. And
- 2:09Speaker 1: that's because sponsorship isn't just temporary relief. It's long-term investment
- 2:14Speaker 1: through the local church, meeting the fiscal needs while sharing
- 2:18Speaker 1: the hope of Jesus. Now, you can do what I've done,
- 2:21Speaker 1: and for just $ 43 a month, you can help shape
- 2:24Speaker 1: a child's future. You can sponsor a child today at Compassion.com.
- 2:29Speaker 1: That's Compassion.com. And let me say, so many of you
- 2:32Speaker 1: have used this as an opportunity to teach your kids
- 2:35Speaker 1: and your grandkids about being involved in helping others. So
- 2:38Speaker 1: sponsor a child today at Compassion.com. That's Compassion.com. All right, Senator,
- 2:45Speaker 1: so let's get to the breaking news and talk about
- 2:48Speaker 1: what has happened in this El-Said race. No one saw
- 2:51Speaker 1: this coming, and it has rocked that Senate race.
- 2:55Speaker 2: Well, the big news is that Haley Stevens, who ran
- 2:59Speaker 2: in the Democrat primary against Abdul Al-Sayed, who almost won,
- 3:03Speaker 2: it was neck and neck, she came out and endorsed
- 3:06Speaker 2: Mike Rogers, the Republican. She said she could not in
- 3:09Speaker 2: good conscience vote for Abdul Al-Sayed. This is a big,
- 3:13Speaker 2: big deal. The Michigan Senate race is neck and neck.
- 3:16Speaker 2: I believe the two most important Senate races in the
- 3:19Speaker 2: country are Michigan and Texas. Both of those races, they
- 3:23Speaker 2: have the two most radical Democrat nominees, Abdul Al-Sayed in Michigan,
- 3:29Speaker 2: James Tallarico in Texas. Both of those races are dead heats.
- 3:35Speaker 2: And to have Haley Stevens, she is a sitting Democrat
- 3:37Speaker 2: member of Congress. She almost won the primary. And to
- 3:41Speaker 2: have her come out, it was a demonstration of courage.
- 3:45Speaker 2: It was a demonstration of principle. It was putting country first.
- 3:50Speaker 2: before party. And I got to say, that is rare.
- 3:52Speaker 2: You do not see that very often in politics. I
- 3:56Speaker 2: am immensely grateful that Haley Stevens is willing to stand
- 4:01Speaker 2: up for what she believes, even though, and she's already
- 4:04Speaker 2: seeing it, she's paying a real price in terms of pushback,
- 4:09Speaker 2: in terms of hate from Democrat Party leadership. They are
- 4:14Speaker 2: furious with her for standing up and speaking the truth.
- 4:17Speaker 2: But here I want.
- 4:17Speaker 1: To remind people, remind people of that primary. It was
- 4:21Speaker 1: an intense primary and it was one after it was over.
- 4:25Speaker 1: She said, I'll go with the Democratic nominee. And so
- 4:29Speaker 1: there was clearly a watching this primary, this general election,
- 4:33Speaker 1: you know, kind of run its course. there was a
- 4:36Speaker 1: point where she just said, I can't stand with him anymore.
- 4:39Speaker 1: That is why I say this is incredibly brave, because
- 4:42Speaker 1: it would have just been easy to just kind of
- 4:44Speaker 1: look the other way and just, you know, let this
- 4:46Speaker 1: happen and just stay out of it.
- 4:48Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 4:48Speaker 2: So on primary night, Abdul El-Sayed got 743,455 votes. Haley
- 4:51Speaker 2: Stevens got 727,758 votes. So it was fewer than 20,000
- 4:52Speaker 2: votes separated them. The margin was 48.5% to 47.5%. So
- 5:08Speaker 2: it was just one point difference. And look, she, well,
- 5:16Speaker 2: I can shed some color because this drama actually played
- 5:19Speaker 2: out over the course of several days. Beginning while I
- 5:24Speaker 2: was in Michigan, campaigning with Mike Rogers. So I'm going
- 5:27Speaker 2: to bring you guys inside of that. But I just
- 5:29Speaker 2: want you to listen to Haley Stevens. This is the
- 5:31Speaker 2: video she put out on Sunday explaining her decisions.
- 5:35Speaker 4: Hey, Michigan. As you may have seen, our Democratic nominee
- 5:39Speaker 4: for U.S. Senate, Abdul, said that I was no longer
- 5:42Speaker 4: welcome in his campaign and that I should stay away.
- 5:46Speaker 4: And he's right. And that's why I am endorsing Mike
- 5:52Speaker 4: Rogers for the United States Senate today. I don't belong
- 5:56Speaker 4: in Abdul's campaign. I do not stand with Hasan Piker,
- 6:00Speaker 4: who gets trafficked on our college campuses. a dear friend
- 6:05Speaker 4: of mine, uh, earlier today, uh, was saying that education
- 6:09Speaker 4: is on the ballot and she's absolutely right. And what
- 6:13Speaker 4: our students see, what our children see and who we
- 6:18Speaker 4: are as Michiganders is not hate and is not, um,
- 6:23Speaker 4: what we are getting out from our democratic nominee right now.
- 6:26Speaker 4: So I am just one person. Uh, I love this state.
- 6:31Speaker 4: As some of you know, I've, uh, run a campaign
- 6:35Speaker 4: saying that it was a love letter to Michigan, and
- 6:38Speaker 4: I'm here to declare who we are as Michiganders. This
- 6:42Speaker 4: is Phil Hart's seat for the U.S.
- 6:44Speaker 5: Senate.
- 6:45Speaker 4: This is the conscience of the Senate right now and
- 6:49Speaker 4: our Michigan moment. And I'm just letting you know where
- 6:52Speaker 4: I am. I'm still a very proud Democrat. I still
- 6:56Speaker 4: very much believe in everything I voted for and said,
- 6:59Speaker 4: and I've worked really hard and we'll continue to do
- 7:04Speaker 4: so in all the ways life's opportunities afford. Godspeed and
- 7:10Speaker 4: love you all so much.
- 7:12Speaker 1: I also want to be clear about this for people
- 7:14Speaker 1: that haven't been paying attention. She's not like a moderate
- 7:16Speaker 1: in any capacity, Senator. I mean, she was a liberal Democrat,
- 7:21Speaker 1: and as she said, she's a proud Democrat, but she
- 7:24Speaker 1: now made it clear why she's making this switch.
- 7:26Speaker 2: Yeah, no, look, that's exactly right. Uh, Last week, I
- 7:30Speaker 2: was up in Michigan and barnstormed the state with Mike Rogers,
- 7:33Speaker 2: and we had huge rallies. I'll tell you, the energy
- 7:35Speaker 2: on the ground is really strong. It is really positive.
- 7:39Speaker 2: And we ended the night with a long program discussing anti-Semitism,
- 7:47Speaker 2: discussing hate, discussing Israel, discussing Abdul Al-Sayed's record. And Mike
- 7:53Speaker 2: and I both participated. There were between 500 and 700
- 7:57Speaker 2: people at the event, and it was a fireside conversation.
- 8:02Speaker 2: But one of the people who came to the event
- 8:05Speaker 2: was Haley Stevens' fiancé, a gentleman named Jason Turkish. So
- 8:10Speaker 2: Haley is not Jewish. She is Christian. She's Protestant. Her
- 8:14Speaker 2: fiancé is Jewish. And actually, on the day of the
- 8:17Speaker 2: event that I was there with Mike Rogers, her fiancé
- 8:22Speaker 2: decided to publicly endorse Mike Rogers. And he did so.
- 8:27Speaker 2: And so at the event, I had a chance to
- 8:29Speaker 2: visit with him and a very good conversation. And by
- 8:31Speaker 2: the way, he's a Democrat, has been a Democrat donor.
- 8:33Speaker 2: Like he remains a passionate Democrat. But Abdul Al-Sayed is
- 8:38Speaker 2: so radical, he's so dangerous, he's so extreme that Jason
- 8:42Speaker 2: said he wanted to stand up and speak the truth
- 8:45Speaker 2: and take on this evil. He doesn't want to see
- 8:48Speaker 2: his party corrupted and turned into an Islamist party, turned
- 8:53Speaker 2: into a Jew-hating party And so he was at the event.
- 8:57Speaker 2: I visited with him. He's a very impressive guy. And
- 9:00Speaker 2: he was talking to a lot of reporters. So he
- 9:02Speaker 2: was publicly saying, I'm with Mike Rogers now. Now, that
- 9:04Speaker 2: naturally produced a whole lot of intrigue and a whole
- 9:08Speaker 2: series of stories. Well, wait, if Haley Stevens' fiancée is
- 9:12Speaker 2: with Mike Rogers, does that mean she is? That she is. Well,
- 9:18Speaker 2: she put out a statement the next day and said, look,
- 9:20Speaker 2: couples can disagree, and my fiancée and I disagree. And
- 9:24Speaker 2: she said, I'm still supporting Abdul Al-Sayed, which is what
- 9:26Speaker 2: she said she would do after the primary. But there
- 9:30Speaker 2: was also this, there's been so much hatred and bigotry
- 9:36Speaker 2: on the part of the Abdul Al-Sayed campaign. And in particular,
- 9:41Speaker 2: there was this TV commercial that was run in Michigan
- 9:45Speaker 2: that was run by Cenk Unger, who is the uncle
- 9:50Speaker 2: of Hasan Piker. Piker, yep.
- 9:52Speaker 1: And he's like one of the core radicals of like
- 9:55Speaker 1: the YouTube world when that got started of the radical left.
- 9:59Speaker 2: These are all Turkish. radicals who are Israel-hating, Jew-hating, and
- 10:03Speaker 2: at least with Piker, I don't know Unger well enough
- 10:05Speaker 2: to know, but at least with Piker are America-hating as well.
- 10:08Speaker 2: I mean, remember, Hasan Piker's the guy who said, America
- 10:12Speaker 2: deserved 9-11. Yes. Well, Cenk, by the way, I do
- 10:15Speaker 2: think it is an amazing irony that Cenk used to
- 10:19Speaker 2: be like This big Internet personality is now going to
- 10:22Speaker 2: go down in history as Hassan Piker's uncle, which which
- 10:25Speaker 2: is humorous. By the way, you know, you know him,
- 10:27Speaker 2: don't you?
- 10:28Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 10:28Speaker 1: So Sink has dropped the F-bomb on me on national
- 10:32Speaker 1: TV more than anyone else in the history of the world.
- 10:34Speaker 1: That's like that's that's another claim to fame. He has
- 10:36Speaker 1: literally screamed the F-bomb at me as I was defending Israel,
- 10:39Speaker 1: calling him an anti-Semite on Piers Morgan's show. Lost his
- 10:42Speaker 1: mind to the point where he had to come back
- 10:44Speaker 1: on and show he wasn't actually crazy and then went
- 10:46Speaker 1: crazy again. It was it was a great moment.
- 10:47Speaker 2: But keep going. Well, he ran this ad that was
- 10:50Speaker 2: one of the most vicious Jew-hating ads I've ever seen.
- 10:53Speaker 2: It was a husband and wife in the line, the
- 10:56Speaker 2: checkout counter at the grocery store, discussing how groceries are expensive.
- 11:00Speaker 2: And look, that's a real issue in this election. People
- 11:02Speaker 2: are feeling the effects of inflation. Four years of Biden,
- 11:06Speaker 2: we had massive inflation. Prices are still too high. Gas
- 11:08Speaker 2: prices are too high. Diesel prices are too high. Food
- 11:11Speaker 2: prices are too high. But they're sitting there discussing it
- 11:14Speaker 2: and saying the reason prices are too high is because
- 11:17Speaker 2: we give military aid to Israel. And it's all about
- 11:20Speaker 2: the Jews. It's the Jews that, and you literally have
- 11:22Speaker 2: a husband and wife saying, we can't afford bananas. And
- 11:26Speaker 2: they put the bananas back away because of the Jews,
- 11:30Speaker 2: damn it. And I mean, it's a hateful ad. And
- 11:36Speaker 2: so Haley, Abdul El-Sayed invited her to come to a
- 11:41Speaker 2: moment of unity, Democrat unity on Sunday. with Jim Clyburn,
- 11:45Speaker 2: the Democrat congressman from South Carolina. And she said she'd
- 11:50Speaker 2: be happy to come. She said, yes. And she said publicly,
- 11:52Speaker 2: I disagree with my fiance. I'm still supporting Abdul. But
- 11:56Speaker 2: she said, I do need him to disavow this hateful
- 11:59Speaker 2: ad that is just Jew baiting and is nasty. And
- 12:04Speaker 2: you know what he said? He said, no, I won't
- 12:06Speaker 2: do it. And listen, there's a reason he won't do it,
- 12:09Speaker 2: because that's who Abdul Alsaid is. That's what he believes.
- 12:13Speaker 2: And then it got nastier and nastier. Not only would
- 12:15Speaker 2: he not disavow it, he said, I don't want you
- 12:17Speaker 2: to come to the event. Stay away from the event.
- 12:20Speaker 2: And so it was very publicly like, get the hell
- 12:23Speaker 2: away from me. If you're not a full-on Muslim Brotherhood-loving radical,
- 12:31Speaker 2: you have no place in my party. And then Sunday morning,
- 12:36Speaker 2: Sunday morning the news broke that she had gone to church.
- 12:39Speaker 2: Instead of going with Abdul Al-Sayed, she went with Mike Rogers.
- 12:43Speaker 2: And she was just sitting in the pews with Mike
- 12:45Speaker 2: Rogers at church. And that was like, everyone was like, wow,
- 12:51Speaker 2: is this what it seems like it might be? And
- 12:54Speaker 2: then afterwards, she put out the video and made the
- 12:57Speaker 2: full-on endorsement. I'll tell you, Ben, when she did, I'm
- 13:00Speaker 2: going to read you what I tweeted. I tweeted, extraordinary
- 13:06Speaker 2: and massively consequential. Something very rare in politics. A true
- 13:12Speaker 2: profile and courage from Haley Stevens. She is putting country
- 13:18Speaker 2: before party and rightly acknowledging that Abdul El-Sayed is too radical, hateful,
- 13:26Speaker 2: and dangerous to serve in the Senate. Bravo. It is
- 13:30Speaker 2: a big, big deal, and it took real courage to
- 13:34Speaker 2: do what she did.
- 13:35Speaker 1: All right, I want to jump in here and take
- 13:36Speaker 1: a quick moment. I want to talk to you about
- 13:38Speaker 1: an incredible university. It's called Regent University. And somewhere along
- 13:42Speaker 1: the way, we got the idea that a serious education
- 13:44Speaker 1: and a strong Christian faith have to live in two
- 13:47Speaker 1: different worlds.
- 13:48Speaker 2: They don't.
- 13:48Speaker 1: At Regent University, faith isn't an afterthought. It's at the
- 13:52Speaker 1: heart of the education. Students are challenged to think deeply,
- 13:56Speaker 1: pursue excellence, and see their education through a Christian worldview.
- 14:00Speaker 1: And make no mistake, Regent is serious about academics. With
- 14:04Speaker 1: more than 150 areas of study, Regent has earned national
- 14:08Speaker 1: recognition for academic excellence because a great education shouldn't just
- 14:12Speaker 1: prepare you to make a living. It should prepare you
- 14:14Speaker 1: to make a difference. Plus, you can get the same
- 14:18Speaker 1: Regent education online. Learn from wherever you are on a
- 14:22Speaker 1: schedule that works around your life. Now, getting started is easy.
- 14:26Speaker 1: Just fill out a simple online form to request information
- 14:30Speaker 1: and connect with an admissions counselor online. who will answer
- 14:33Speaker 1: all your questions about degrees, online programs, financial aid, and more.
- 14:38Speaker 1: Go to regent.edu. That's regent.edu. Exceptional academics, flexible online learning,
- 14:47Speaker 1: unapologetically Christian values, Regent University, Christian leadership to change the world.
- 14:53Speaker 1: It took not only real courage, but also then the
- 14:55Speaker 1: bigger question becomes, Could this be enough to disrupt or
- 15:00Speaker 1: change the outcome of that election there? How big of
- 15:03Speaker 1: a boost? You were on the ground there with Mike Rogers.
- 15:06Speaker 1: So what was momentum like? How much of a significant
- 15:09Speaker 1: impact do you think this could have on Election Day?
- 15:12Speaker 2: Look, I think this could have a very real impact.
- 15:14Speaker 2: I think this could ensure that Mike Rogers wins. I
- 15:18Speaker 2: obviously hope that's the outcome.
- 15:19Speaker 4: Really?
- 15:20Speaker 1: So in other words, this is one of those big moments.
- 15:24Speaker 1: If you were running a campaign of Rogers... And someone
- 15:26Speaker 1: brought this to you as an idea, you would say,
- 15:28Speaker 1: oh my gosh, that could be huge.
- 15:31Speaker 3: It is.
- 15:31Speaker 2: Look, the race is basically tied in Michigan. So if
- 15:34Speaker 2: you think of different groups of voters, number one for
- 15:36Speaker 2: Jewish voters, and there's a substantial Jewish population in Michigan,
- 15:41Speaker 2: her saying Al-Said is too radical, too Jew-hating, too bigoted,
- 15:47Speaker 2: too embracing of the Muslim Brotherhood for me to support,
- 15:50Speaker 2: that really gives a permission structure To lifelong Democrats. So
- 15:55Speaker 2: if you're a Jewish voter, if you're a moderate voter,
- 15:59Speaker 2: if you are a female voter, if you're a Democrat voter,
- 16:04Speaker 2: if you're just someone who cares a little bit about
- 16:06Speaker 2: national security and doesn't like seeing a candidate who's spent
- 16:09Speaker 2: decades supporting the Muslim Brotherhood. And by the way, if
- 16:13Speaker 2: you go back to last week's podcast. In Michigan, I
- 16:16Speaker 2: laid out the evidence systematically, objectively the evidence, demonstrating that
- 16:20Speaker 2: Abdul Al-Sayed has been a vocal, passionate, and public supporter
- 16:24Speaker 2: of the Muslim Brotherhood for decades. His own sister said,
- 16:28Speaker 2: our family has long supported the Muslim Brotherhood. He's written
- 16:32Speaker 2: op-eds in support of the Muslim Brotherhood. He supports them.
- 16:36Speaker 2: By the way, I have to note, Ben, you know,
- 16:38Speaker 2: the Sunday shows took my comments about, given his many
- 16:41Speaker 2: decades of demonstrated objectively proven support for the muslim brotherhood
- 16:47Speaker 2: he'd be a national security risk to have a security
- 16:50Speaker 2: clearance and and margaret brennan instead was was fuming it's
- 16:54Speaker 2: bigoted i saw.
- 16:55Speaker 1: This live and i was cracking up laughing because i
- 16:57Speaker 1: didn't know that was going to happen i was you
- 16:59Speaker 1: know watching the shows i'm laughing and my kids like
- 17:02Speaker 1: dad what's so funny i'm like watch this watch watch
- 17:04Speaker 1: this it was so good keep going.
- 17:06Speaker 2: So what's interesting, Ben, is I think Margaret Brennan saw
- 17:10Speaker 2: what a ridiculous fool of herself Kristen Welker made on
- 17:13Speaker 2: Meet the Press. And Margaret Brennan said, hold my beer.
- 17:17Speaker 2: So she literally plays on the show My Conclusion, which is...
- 17:23Speaker 2: granting Abdul Al-Sayed a security clearance would endanger American lives,
- 17:29Speaker 2: but she includes zero of the facts, none of the
- 17:32Speaker 2: facts as to why that is, because apparently the networks
- 17:36Speaker 2: don't cover facts. They're not in the news business. I
- 17:39Speaker 2: laid out a systematic, detailed explanation of the evidence, and
- 17:44Speaker 2: she included zero, and instead she just asked Bernie Sanders,
- 17:49Speaker 2: and Bernie Sanders started screaming, they're all bigots, they're all bigots!
- 17:53Speaker 2: With no discussion of, look, you know, Al-Sayed's defense is
- 18:00Speaker 2: the Constitution protects my right to pray. I agree, and
- 18:03Speaker 2: I will defend his right to pray till my dying breath.
- 18:07Speaker 2: I'm not talking about his praying. I'm talking about an ideology.
- 18:11Speaker 2: There's a big difference between Islam and Islamism. Islamism is
- 18:15Speaker 2: a political ideology that seeks to establish a caliphate to
- 18:18Speaker 2: use the force of law to force people to obey
- 18:21Speaker 2: Sharia law and to subjugate non-believers. That is the ideology
- 18:28Speaker 2: that Abdul Al-Sayed has defended for decades. And the Muslim
- 18:33Speaker 2: Brotherhood is a viciously terrorist organization that Abdul Al-Sayed has
- 18:38Speaker 2: defended for decades, and the media refuses to cover it.
- 18:44Speaker 2: I want to go now So after she made her endorsement,
- 18:47Speaker 2: Haley Stevens did an interview, a TV interview, standing alongside
- 18:50Speaker 2: Mike Rogers. So I want you to listen to Mike
- 18:53Speaker 2: Rogers because I think he did a really good job
- 18:56Speaker 2: accepting this endorsement, but also trying to bring people together
- 18:59Speaker 2: and say, listen, we're not about hate. We're not about
- 19:02Speaker 2: the vicious anti-Americanism, the vicious bigotry that the Abdul Al-Sayed
- 19:06Speaker 2: campaign has embraced. Instead, Michigan and America are bigger. Give
- 19:11Speaker 2: a listen to Mike Rogers.
- 19:12Speaker 5: To have Haley Stevens support today, I'm honored to have
- 19:15Speaker 5: earned that vote. When I got the call this morning,
- 19:19Speaker 5: obviously it's probably not the day we anticipated going forward today.
- 19:24Speaker 5: But when we decided this would be good to worship
- 19:27Speaker 5: together today, I'll just give you a little bit of
- 19:30Speaker 5: flavor about this. We talked about America, what was better
- 19:33Speaker 5: for Americans, what was better for the future of our
- 19:37Speaker 5: state by bringing people together. Martin Luther King said you
- 19:41Speaker 5: cannot solve darkness with darkness. You have to solve it
- 19:45Speaker 5: with light. You can't solve hate with hate. You have
- 19:48Speaker 5: to solve it with light.
- 19:50Speaker 2: Love.
- 19:51Speaker 5: And I talked to Haley about that love letter to
- 19:54Speaker 5: Michigan that she wrote that I thought was very, very good.
- 19:58Speaker 5: And candidly, I'm glad I'm not running against Haley Stevens today.
- 20:03Speaker 5: But what we decided is sometimes the hate grows so loud.
- 20:09Speaker 5: that it jeopardizes some of our citizens in this state.
- 20:13Speaker 5: When young Jewish women have to hide their Star of
- 20:15Speaker 5: Davids to walk across University of Michigan campus, we have
- 20:19Speaker 5: gone too far. When young men have to wear ball
- 20:21Speaker 5: caps over their yarmulkes because they are getting harassed for
- 20:26Speaker 5: being Jewish, we have gone too far. This is more
- 20:30Speaker 5: a statement about standing together against hate and the future
- 20:35Speaker 5: of this state and this country than it is anything else.
- 20:38Speaker 5: And I just want you to know, she reminded me
- 20:40Speaker 5: at the end of the call, remember, I'm still a Democrat.
- 20:44Speaker 1: I love, by the way, the end there. Look, she's
- 20:48Speaker 1: still a Democrat, but this is outside of just being
- 20:51Speaker 1: a Democrat. This is about something bigger than that. And
- 20:54Speaker 1: I got to say, as you described earlier, This is
- 20:57Speaker 1: a very brave move, but it could have major consequences
- 21:01Speaker 1: for her political future as well.
- 21:03Speaker 2: No, that's right. And listen, she has been a Democrat,
- 21:08Speaker 2: an elected Democrat for years. She is very much a,
- 21:13Speaker 2: you know, she believes in the policy positions of the
- 21:16Speaker 2: Democrat Party consistently. But she also is a person of principle.
- 21:20Speaker 2: And I think she's been horrified by the extremism, by
- 21:23Speaker 2: the hatred that Abdul El-Sayed has demonstrated. And, you know,
- 21:28Speaker 2: some people will dismiss it. People will assume, oh, she
- 21:30Speaker 2: must be Jewish. No, she's not Jewish. She's Christian. She's Christian.
- 21:34Speaker 2: She just actually rejects Islamism and does not want to
- 21:38Speaker 2: see Michigan or America give in to that extremism. And
- 21:44Speaker 2: the reaction was immediate and it was ferocious. Her party leaders,
- 21:48Speaker 2: like she paid a real price. I want you to
- 21:50Speaker 2: read what Chuck Schumer tweeted right after she put this out. Quote,
- 21:55Speaker 2: This is a despicable betrayal from Representative Stevens. Senate Democrats
- 22:00Speaker 2: are united in our support for Abdul El-Sayed because we
- 22:04Speaker 2: know he will fight for the economic interest of working
- 22:07Speaker 2: families in Michigan, unlike Mike Rogers, who is a tool
- 22:11Speaker 2: of Donald Trump and billionaire donors. And I got to say, look,
- 22:17Speaker 2: just when I think Schumer could not be more hollow,
- 22:21Speaker 2: more empty.
- 22:24Speaker 2: I retweeted that statement and here's what I said. Disgraceful.
- 22:28Speaker 2: Schumer and Pelosi care only about power. Nothing else matters. Tragic.
- 22:37Speaker 2: Haley Stevens showed remarkable character and courage and principle. She
- 22:43Speaker 2: put America before party. And Schumer and Pelosi's savage attacks
- 22:49Speaker 2: on her for doing so shows who they are And
- 22:53Speaker 2: what they value. And I'll tell you, when I visited
- 22:56Speaker 2: with her fiancé in Michigan, I shared with him a story.
- 23:01Speaker 2: I said, look, I understand I'm a Republican and normally
- 23:05Speaker 2: both parties stand with their nominee. That's what the two
- 23:08Speaker 2: parties do in a two-party system. And that's usually the case.
- 23:12Speaker 2: But there are times when the line goes too far.
- 23:14Speaker 2: We saw that earlier this year with Graham Platner in Michigan.
- 23:18Speaker 2: maine the self-avowed communist who had a nazi tattoo on
- 23:22Speaker 2: his chest a totenkopf the the nazi uh ss symbol
- 23:27Speaker 2: of the death camps of auschwitz and the other death
- 23:31Speaker 2: camps on his chest and the only democrat senator in
- 23:34Speaker 2: the country there's only one john fetterman was willing to
- 23:37Speaker 2: say that's too far every other senator chuck schumer was
- 23:41Speaker 2: like hey nazi tattoo on your on your chest goodbye
- 23:44Speaker 2: me good to go yeah um The same principle is true.
- 23:49Speaker 2: And what I shared with Haley Stevens' fiance is I said, listen,
- 23:52Speaker 2: a couple of cycles ago, you may remember when Republicans
- 23:56Speaker 2: nominated Roy Moore to the Senate in Alabama. Yeah. Now,
- 24:00Speaker 2: I had not supported Roy Moore in the primary. But
- 24:05Speaker 2: once he was the nominee, I was being a loyal
- 24:08Speaker 2: Republican and I endorsed him because he was our nominee.
- 24:11Speaker 2: And then after that, Incredible allegations came out that he
- 24:15Speaker 2: had sexually abused teenage girls.
- 24:18Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 24:18Speaker 2: And these allegations were all over the news and I
- 24:20Speaker 2: saw them. I didn't know what was true or not,
- 24:22Speaker 2: but I was concerned about it. And so what I
- 24:24Speaker 2: did is I picked up the phone and I called
- 24:26Speaker 2: him and I said, Roy, I've seen these allegations. I
- 24:28Speaker 2: want to hear your response. Tell me why these are wrong.
- 24:32Speaker 2: What am I missing? What's the truth? And I spent,
- 24:37Speaker 2: I don't know, probably 15, 20 minutes on the phone
- 24:39Speaker 2: with him. And his answer was completely unsatisfactory. He basically
- 24:43Speaker 2: had no answer that I found persuasive. And I said,
- 24:47Speaker 2: you know what? I'm done. And so I publicly withdrew
- 24:51Speaker 2: my support of him. And that had a consequence, which is,
- 24:56Speaker 2: and other Republicans subsequently did the same thing. But Roy
- 25:00Speaker 2: Moore lost. And Doug Jones, a Democrat, was elected from Alabama.
- 25:04Speaker 2: Alabama is about as red a state as we got.
- 25:06Speaker 2: And we ended up electing a Democrat from Alabama because
- 25:09Speaker 2: I decided some things are more important than just sticking
- 25:12Speaker 2: with your party. And I will say, I shared that
- 25:15Speaker 2: story with Haley Stevens' fiancé. I don't know if that
- 25:21Speaker 2: was helpful or not in making this decision. But not
- 25:24Speaker 2: only did... Schumer attacked her. Pelosi attacked her, too. And
- 25:29Speaker 2: there's some irony because just a few days ago, Pelosi
- 25:31Speaker 2: had said very much the same thing.
- 25:33Speaker 4: All right.
- 25:33Speaker 1: Now, if I haven't reminded you enough, Tuesday is Election Day.
- 25:38Speaker 1: And between work, errands and family, we're all busy. And
- 25:41Speaker 1: with the elections right here, right now, it can be
- 25:44Speaker 1: hard to find time to vote. Now, if you are
- 25:47Speaker 1: in the process of having the ability to still early vote, well,
- 25:50Speaker 1: then don't wait until Election Day. A flat tire or
- 25:53Speaker 1: a sick child could mean you missing out on making
- 25:56Speaker 1: your voice heard. And that's why we want you to
- 25:58Speaker 1: go and vote. Now, you can go to GOPvotes.org and
- 26:02Speaker 1: find your polling place and bank your vote today. Now,
- 26:06Speaker 1: if you live in the critical Senate battleground states of
- 26:08Speaker 1: Maine or Ohio, early voting is already underway. It already started.
- 26:12Speaker 1: You need to get into the game. The radical left
- 26:15Speaker 1: has won Democratic primaries across the country, and their turnout
- 26:19Speaker 1: machine is ready to swarm the polls today. That's why
- 26:22Speaker 1: you need a plan to vote, too. President Trump is
- 26:24Speaker 1: counting on you. Our movement is counting on you. I'm
- 26:27Speaker 1: counting on you. So don't wait. Head to GOPvotes.org and
- 26:31Speaker 1: make your plan to vote. Paid for by the SLF PAC,
- 26:35Speaker 1: not authorized by any candidate or candidates committee.
- 26:39Speaker 2: Give a listen to what Pelosi said just a few
- 26:41Speaker 2: days ago about Abdul El-Sayed.
- 26:43Speaker 3: You know, when you say Israel doesn't have the right
- 26:45Speaker 3: to be a Jewish state, that's anti-Semitic as far as
- 26:48Speaker 3: I'm concerned.
- 26:49Speaker 1: Who says that?
- 26:49Speaker 6: Who says that?
- 26:52Speaker 3: Mandami has said that.
- 26:55Speaker 6: I can't account for it.
- 26:57Speaker 3: Al-Sayed has said that. That he doesn't believe that they
- 27:02Speaker 3: should be a Jewish state. That's concerning.
- 27:06Speaker 6: No, it's more than concerning.
- 27:07Speaker 4: It's wrong.
- 27:09Speaker 6: And it isn't a reflection of the Democrats in the
- 27:12Speaker 6: Congress of the United States. This new person in Michigan,
- 27:16Speaker 6: we'll see if he gets elected to the Congress, but
- 27:18Speaker 6: the mayor... Bless his heart. I hope he succeeds as mayor,
- 27:22Speaker 6: but I don't agree with some of the things he said.
- 27:25Speaker 1: I don't agree with some of the things that he said.
- 27:29Speaker 1: At that point, I'm like, please tell me more about that.
- 27:32Speaker 1: That's what a normal follow up would have been, Senator.
- 27:35Speaker 2: Well, and look, that's her talking about Mondami, but she
- 27:37Speaker 2: also is pretty dismissive of El-Sayed. I don't agree with him.
- 27:40Speaker 2: We'll see if he gets elected now. the Democrat Party,
- 27:44Speaker 2: it is all about power. It turns out, look, there's
- 27:47Speaker 2: a reason she's retiring after 40 years. When the Democrat
- 27:50Speaker 2: Party has gotten too extreme for Nancy Pelosi, that tells
- 27:52Speaker 2: you something. She's leaving and she's saying, listen, these Islamists
- 27:56Speaker 2: and communists that have taken over my party, I don't
- 28:00Speaker 2: agree with them. And in fact, what she said is
- 28:02Speaker 2: what they're saying is evil. That was her quote that
- 28:05Speaker 2: we just played. Yeah. Now, At the end of the day,
- 28:09Speaker 2: power matters more. So as soon as Haley Stevens says
- 28:12Speaker 2: basically the same thing Nancy Pelosi said last week, I
- 28:16Speaker 2: want you to read Nancy Pelosi's tweet. Quote, Haley Stevens
- 28:20Speaker 2: has chosen to dangerously betray Michigan families' health care, freedoms,
- 28:26Speaker 2: and future with her horrific endorsement of Mike Rogers. Abdul
- 28:31Speaker 2: El-Sayed must win because Michigan and our country deserve better.
- 28:36Speaker 2: Dash NP, as in Nancy Pelosi. So never mind what
- 28:41Speaker 2: I said. It's evil. Last week it was evil. Yeah,
- 28:43Speaker 2: forget that.
- 28:43Speaker 1: It's just all evil, but it's fine.
- 28:45Speaker 2: Today, standing up to evil is quote-unquote horrific. And is
- 28:50Speaker 2: there any line, is there anything that Schumer believes, that
- 28:55Speaker 2: Pelosi believes, that any of the Democrat senators, other than
- 28:59Speaker 2: John Fetterman, it's silence, it is crickets, From Democrat senators
- 29:06Speaker 2: who are saying, this is too far. Cory Booker's pushed
- 29:09Speaker 2: back a little bit.
- 29:11Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 29:11Speaker 2: But the rest of the Democrat senators.
- 29:14Speaker 1: Besides Fetterman, it's been just, yeah, onward, forward, who cares?
- 29:16Speaker 2: They've gone into witness protection. And the degree of partisan
- 29:21Speaker 2: hate from fellow Democrats directed at Haley Stevens is... I'm
- 29:25Speaker 2: just going to say, I admire Haley Stevens. I have
- 29:28Speaker 2: not met her personally. I don't know her. I've never
- 29:32Speaker 2: met her, but what she did, I admire. It was brave.
- 29:37Speaker 2: It was courageous. It was at a cost. and it
- 29:40Speaker 2: made a difference. That is a big, big deal.
- 29:42Speaker 5: All right.
- 29:43Speaker 2: Last week, the New York Times broke a bombshell story.
- 29:47Speaker 2: The title of it is Inside Democrats' Secret Efforts to
- 29:51Speaker 2: Stack Alaska's Ballot. It continues. Operatives aligned with Mary Patola,
- 29:58Speaker 2: the Democratic nominee for Senate, spent months recruiting candidates to
- 30:02Speaker 2: peel votes from Senator Dan Sullivan, the Republican. Let me
- 30:06Speaker 2: read the beginning of this article. In the summer of 2025,
- 30:09Speaker 2: a staffer for Mary Patola, the Alaska Democrat who was
- 30:12Speaker 2: eyeing a run for Senate, received unusual instructions from top
- 30:16Speaker 2: campaign aides. Find as many people named Dan Sullivan in
- 30:20Speaker 2: Alaska as you can. The staffer complied, combing through voter
- 30:25Speaker 2: records to produce a list of Dan Sullivans from across
- 30:28Speaker 2: the state. This was no random request. Dan S. Sullivan
- 30:34Speaker 2: is the name of the state's Republican senator. And if
- 30:37Speaker 2: the Patola campaign or its allies could track down or
- 30:39Speaker 2: persuade another Dan Sullivan to run for Senate, the confusion
- 30:43Speaker 2: could cost the senator crucial votes on the state's unusual
- 30:48Speaker 2: four-person ballot. The plan worked. This spring, a retired teacher
- 30:53Speaker 2: from a tiny fishing village along the Alaska Panhandle, reachable
- 30:57Speaker 2: only by air and sea, announced his candidacy for Senate.
- 31:01Speaker 2: His name was Dan J. Sullivan. The Patola campaign has
- 31:06Speaker 2: repeatedly denied any involvement in his candidacy, but the Times
- 31:10Speaker 2: has found, based on interviews and text messages, along with
- 31:13Speaker 2: documents prepared for a potential lawsuit against the campaign, that
- 31:17Speaker 2: not only did Ms. Patola's team work with the people
- 31:21Speaker 2: trying to recruit Mr. Sullivan to run for Senate, but
- 31:24Speaker 2: the effort was much broader. The group worked to coax
- 31:27Speaker 2: another would-be spoiler into the race to dilute the incumbent's
- 31:30Speaker 2: support and help catapult the Democrat to victory. The endeavor,
- 31:36Speaker 2: which was internally called the Ballot Composition Project, involved secret
- 31:41Speaker 2: trips to far-flung Alaskan communities and the appearance of a
- 31:44Speaker 2: mysterious Midwestern operative who traversed the state using a fake
- 31:49Speaker 2: name and made his pitch to would-be candidates over beers
- 31:53Speaker 2: at brewpubs. It also involves the Patola campaign's lawyers, as
- 31:57Speaker 2: well as senior aides at the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee,
- 32:02Speaker 2: which directs the party's campaign strategy and Senate races across
- 32:05Speaker 2: the country. From Washington to Anchorage, those advisors participated in
- 32:10Speaker 2: regular conversations about the effort and even considered forming a
- 32:14Speaker 2: new political party to draw conservatives into the ballot. This story,
- 32:21Speaker 2: so look, it was obvious. Fake Dan Sullivan is fake.
- 32:28Speaker 2: He's a Democrat. He has actually been a donor to
- 32:31Speaker 2: Mary Patola, the Democrat. He's given twice to Mary Patola.
- 32:35Speaker 2: His daughter is a staffer for a Democrat congresswoman from
- 32:39Speaker 2: Washington state. And he is on the ballot for one
- 32:43Speaker 2: reason and one reason only, which is to deceive Alaska voters.
- 32:47Speaker 2: And they're counting on that someone goes in and they say, hey,
- 32:49Speaker 2: Dan Sullivan's a good senator. I like Dan Sullivan. I
- 32:52Speaker 2: want to reelect Dan Sullivan. And they vote and they
- 32:55Speaker 2: get confused and they vote for the wrong Dan Sullivan.
- 32:58Speaker 2: And all they need to pick away is one, two, three,
- 33:01Speaker 2: four percent of the vote, just a tiny little bit.
- 33:04Speaker 2: And that could easily be enough to swing the outcome. Now, understand,
- 33:09Speaker 2: this was obvious from the beginning, by the way. Do
- 33:12Speaker 2: you know who wrote the press release for fake Dan Sullivan?
- 33:15Speaker 1: This is the best part of the story. As they
- 33:17Speaker 1: try to deny that they were ever involved.
- 33:18Speaker 6: Go ahead.
- 33:19Speaker 2: The political consultant for Mary Patola. But the consultant's not
- 33:23Speaker 2: very good because they left the metadata on there showing
- 33:27Speaker 2: that it was Patola's consultant who wrote the press release.
- 33:30Speaker 2: That being said, Mary Patola said over and over again,
- 33:33Speaker 2: I didn't do it. I knew nothing about it. We
- 33:35Speaker 2: had nothing to do about it. We're not the ones
- 33:37Speaker 2: lying to the voters. We're not the ones trying to
- 33:40Speaker 2: rig democracy and rig an election. It's not us. Chuck
- 33:43Speaker 2: Schumer said, no, no, no, it's not me. We're not
- 33:45Speaker 2: the ones doing this. And they were called out, not
- 33:49Speaker 2: by Republicans, not by conservatives, but by that rabid right-wing publication,
- 33:55Speaker 2: The New York Times. And the facts are clear. This
- 33:58Speaker 2: is in writing. These are in texts. And it goes back.
- 34:02Speaker 2: It's actually the same point as Schumer and Pelosi's reactions
- 34:05Speaker 2: to Haley Stevens, which is today's Democrat Party has one
- 34:10Speaker 2: value above all else, power. And it doesn't matter. Nothing
- 34:13Speaker 2: else matters. If someone is an open communist, goodbye them.
- 34:17Speaker 2: If someone has a Nazi tattoo on their chest, goodbye
- 34:20Speaker 2: Schumer and Pelosi. If someone is an Islamist who spent
- 34:24Speaker 2: decades supporting the Muslim Brotherhoods, goodbye them. And if there
- 34:30Speaker 2: is a scheme... to subvert democracy and literally to steal
- 34:35Speaker 2: votes from voters in Alaska and cause the result to
- 34:39Speaker 2: be the opposite of what the voters want. This is
- 34:41Speaker 2: not count every vote. This is steal some votes so
- 34:45Speaker 2: that the person who would otherwise get second might get first.
- 34:49Speaker 2: It's a bombshell and it really does show it. It's sad.
- 34:53Speaker 2: It's despicable. And they were caught red-handed.
- 34:59Speaker 1: Yeah, they really were. And remember, going into Election Day,
- 35:01Speaker 1: don't forget we'll be back with you, I promise, with
- 35:03Speaker 1: a recap of everything that happens on Election Day. Go vote,
- 35:06Speaker 1: go vote, go vote. Do not forget to vote. I
- 35:09Speaker 1: will say it again, over and over again, go vote.
- 35:12Speaker 2: And one thing, and one thing, and one thing, go vote.
- 35:15Speaker 2: Go vote, go vote, go vote, and bring somebody else.
- 35:18Speaker 2: Turnout matters, especially if you're in Texas. Please, save Texas,
- 35:23Speaker 2: save America. Come out and vote tomorrow.
- 35:26Speaker 1: Amen to that. Don't forget, we will be back with you,
- 35:29Speaker 1: I promise, with a recap after Election Day as well.
- 35:32Speaker 1: And the Senator and I will see you then. God
- 35:34Speaker 1: bless America. Go vote.
