- 0:00And these sweet old ladies were like, OK, OK, OK, eat, eat, eat.
- 0:03And I was like, sorry, sorry, sorry.
- 0:05Thank you, thank you, thank you. And I ate it and it was good.
- 0:07And then I ran. I ran away pretty much.
- 0:09I walked very quickly, totally embarrassed.
- 0:27Hey everybody, welcome to the Love Drive podcast.
- 0:30My name is Sean Galanos and I am coming to you from Seoul, South
- 0:34Korea. I am solo in Seoul and this is
- 0:37take two of recording this episode because during take one
- 0:41my microphone was muted. So once I found that out, I left
- 0:47my hotel. I went to get a pastry because
- 0:49my stomach was rumbling and I came back and here we are.
- 0:52I am absolutely loving Korea. South Korea.
- 0:56The previous week I was in Thailand for a friend's 50th
- 1:00birthday and spent two weeks there, a week on the beach, a
- 1:03week in Bangkok, and it was a fantastic, lovely time.
- 1:07I took zero photos, probably because I had been to Thailand
- 1:11before, I think, and I was just like hanging out with friends
- 1:14and it felt really, really fun and really good.
- 1:16I got a ton of massages. I ate incredible food.
- 1:19We celebrated my buddies Casima's 50th birthday party,
- 1:23which was phenomenal. Hard to top.
- 1:25It's going to be impossible to top.
- 1:26Actually it was. He had rented out this beautiful
- 1:28restaurant on the waterfront and there was a really awesome band,
- 1:35Paradise Band. I forget what it is but I'll
- 1:37link it in the show notes. Amazing great food, great
- 1:40people, had a really beautiful time and now I'm in Seoul and
- 1:45I've been here for a week now. I am basically spending ten days
- 1:48in South Korea. My plan was to bop around.
- 1:51I was going to take a train to Busan yes we've all heard of the
- 1:55horror film train to Busan. I was going to take a train to
- 1:58Busan I was going to like trip around there for a little bit
- 2:01and I realized that I'm actually a pretty slow traveller I like
- 2:04to just sit in one place for a long time and sort of like enjoy
- 2:08the area. I also didn't feel like I wanted
- 2:11to explore a Newtown or get to know a Newtown.
- 2:14And I'm really happy in the neighborhood of El Judo that I'm
- 2:18in right now. And yeah, just kind of just want
- 2:21to eat and relax and explore and shop and just be in Seoul.
- 2:25I do love cities. I love cities.
- 2:27So I'm happy I'm solo in soul and I am truly solo in Seoul.
- 2:32When I travel, I usually know a lot of people.
- 2:34And so I I usually go to places where I know somebody because I
- 2:37like hanging out with people, because I love people.
- 2:39But here I don't know anybody. I don't know anybody.
- 2:41I actually tried to find someone, maybe like one of my
- 2:44followers. I put up a story and said, is
- 2:46there anybody in South Korea who wants to hang?
- 2:48And there's nobody. Either they don't want to hang
- 2:51or they're just I don't have followers in South Korea, or
- 2:54they don't look at my stories. So even though I've been solo,
- 2:58I've met a handful of really cool people.
- 3:01I met a Russian woman who is here on business with her dad.
- 3:06Her dad owns a tire distributor in Russia and they were meeting
- 3:10with Korean tire company. I met a Singaporean literature
- 3:16teacher at a museum. We had dinner together.
- 3:19That was really fun. I befriended the people that I
- 3:23got tattoos from in Hongday at Needles Tattoo Studio.
- 3:27So Jackpot and Red Lips are two tattoo artists in Seoul and I
- 3:33got one tattoo of each of them. One of them is a goofy tiger,
- 3:39Korean style tiger with a goofy little look and a Bunny, a
- 3:43psychedelic Bunny smoking a pipe.
- 3:45And then the other one is a tattoo of Roger, a memorial
- 3:49tattoo of Roger that people are absolutely loving.
- 3:52I saw that Red Lips has done like commemorative or memorial
- 3:56pet tattoos and so I had her do 1 of Roger in the American
- 4:00traditional style, which is what I like in black, which is what I
- 4:03like and it is just the cutest thing ever.
- 4:06It's the IT will be the image for this episode, so check
- 4:10Instagram or look at the show notes for some links to all this
- 4:14stuff. So how am I doing?
- 4:16How am I doing? I'm ready to go home, honestly.
- 4:19I've been gone since April 4th. Today is April 26th when I'm
- 4:22recording this. By the time you hear this
- 4:24episode, I will be back in San Francisco.
- 4:26But I'm ready to go home. I've had a great trip.
- 4:30It's been mostly UPS, not really that many downs.
- 4:34My belly is ready for a home cooked meal and uncooked
- 4:37veggies, which I haven't really been seeking out here.
- 4:41I've had the most amazing food in Thailand and then also here.
- 4:44I've been eating Michelin star noodles, I've been eating
- 4:48kalgutsu, I've been having Korean BBQ.
- 4:52What was really sweet is that the people who tattooed me took
- 4:55me out of Korean BBQ after the tattoos, which was like such a
- 4:58special gift. So I've had a great trip.
- 5:01My belly is a little like I'm just been eating a lot.
- 5:04And so I think I'm, I'm ready to give that a rest.
- 5:07But there's also this thing about when you're traveling,
- 5:09you, you know, you kind of want to do it all.
- 5:11And as someone who struggles with FOMO, I'm having to just be
- 5:14like, Oh, I can't do it all. I can't go here, go there, eat
- 5:17all those things. So I'm just going to have the
- 5:19experience that I'm having and it's not going to be the most
- 5:22optimized or the most ideal. And that's OK because that's
- 5:25life, right? And so I'm learning to wear life
- 5:28with a loose fitting sweater and to not stress myself out that
- 5:31like I'm not going to have all the experiences and it's OK
- 5:34that's I can always come back. I can always come back.
- 5:36I will share a really funny story though.
- 5:38I was walking in a market in Hyundai waiting for the tattoo
- 5:42artist to finish working so that we can meet up for Korean BBQ,
- 5:46which was delicious. And I wanted a little snack, but
- 5:50I wasn't ready to like commit to a whole meal because I wanted to
- 5:53keep my appetite up for the BBQ. Anyways, as I go by, there's all
- 5:56these food stalls and there is one selling sort of deep fried
- 6:01like shishito Peppers and stuffed Peppers and seaweed roll
- 6:06and a blood sausage, a bunch of things.
- 6:09And I noticed that there were samples and I was like, Oh my
- 6:11God, I haven't seen samples anywhere.
- 6:13This is so exciting. And there was like a cup of like
- 6:15toothpicks. And then there was like a bunch
- 6:17of women there kind of hovering around the samples.
- 6:20And I grabbed A toothpick and I took one of the little pieces
- 6:24of, I think it was deep fried seaweed roll, which was
- 6:28delicious. But as I pick it up, the woman
- 6:30who's serving looks at me with a big X and goes like, no, no, no,
- 6:34no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. And then I look and all the
- 6:37women are like, it's OK, it's OK, it's OK.
- 6:39And I had picked up, not a sample, a piece of somebody's
- 6:43meal. These women had ordered the
- 6:46food. The woman who prepares it had
- 6:49cut it up into little pieces, bite side pieces, and had served
- 6:52it to them. And you just kind of eat it in
- 6:54front of the stand, which is like, kind of weird to me, but,
- 6:57you know, I guess cultural differences.
- 6:59And I was absolutely mortified, mortified.
- 7:03And these sweet old ladies were like, OK, OK, OK, eat, eat, eat.
- 7:07And I was like, sorry, sorry, sorry.
- 7:09Thank you, Thank you, thank you. And I ate it and it was good.
- 7:11And then I ran. I ran away pretty much.
- 7:13I walked very quickly, totally embarrassed, and a couple days
- 7:18later my food tour guide was like, that's totally fine.
- 7:21They know that it was a mistake and they were happy to share
- 7:23with you. But it was just a really funny,
- 7:26like lost in translation moment. And I hadn't really experienced
- 7:30that much embarrassment in a long time.
- 7:32So it's a good experience to have.
- 7:34Hopefully you find some joy out of that.
- 7:36So it's been a great trip. I have not talked to that many
- 7:39Korean people. Like Korean South Koreans are
- 7:42very friendly, but different than Thai friendly.
- 7:45In Thailand, like people go out of their way to talk to you.
- 7:48They're also trying to like, get you into their restaurant and
- 7:51sell you massages. Like they're way more interested
- 7:54in interacting with you as a tourist.
- 7:57Whereas in Korea, like, I mean, I feel kind of invisible here.
- 8:02And they let you do your own thing until you talk to them and
- 8:06then they're happy to talk to you, you know, as much as they
- 8:08can. So my experiences have been a
- 8:11little bit more lonesome, which is totally fine because after
- 8:13two weeks of hanging out with dozens of friends in Thailand,
- 8:16it feels really nice to have just a little bit more downtime
- 8:20and just be kind of bopping around.
- 8:22I got a facial. I'm now being served exclusively
- 8:25face and skin care Instagram reels, which I'm almost getting
- 8:31influenced into buying a whole bunch of products which I don't
- 8:34really need. So I'm going to get a couple of
- 8:36them. I already have a prescription
- 8:38for retinol, so I'll get a couple little face masks and
- 8:42I'll get a couple some SPF and some things like that.
- 8:44But I'm aggressively being marketed to the skin care slash
- 8:49plastic surgery situation in South Korea is pretty intense.
- 8:53And there is a part of me that wants that smooth glassy skin,
- 8:56you know, that wet look, it looks good.
- 8:58So we'll see about that. And then what else?
- 9:02That's not it. I'm coming home in a couple days
- 9:04and we've got a tiny layover in Japan, so I'll leave a little
- 9:08room for ramen or a sushi conveyor belt sushi.
- 9:12I went clubbing, which was cool. Oh, I am 39 days free of
- 9:17nicotine. And I will say that it's been
- 9:19actually pretty challenging here in Seoul because they have a lot
- 9:23of vape shops. They're called We Vape and which
- 9:25I think is brilliant marketing because I want to vape, I vape,
- 9:29you vape, we all vape. And not only that, not only are
- 9:32there a whole bunch of them and there's there's a lot of smoking
- 9:34in Korea. You can try all the flavors at
- 9:37the vape shop and that man, that would normally really be my jam,
- 9:43you know, because it's hard to find a new flavor.
- 9:45So I went clubbing and a lot of people smoke here and sometimes
- 9:50because I don't drink or do drugs, sometimes I like to have
- 9:53a little something, you know, a little something, something to
- 9:56make things a little more exciting.
- 9:57And all I really have access to is sugar and caffeine and I'd
- 10:02already had some of that for the clothing.
- 10:03So I wanted a vape to just like, you know, have probably has a
- 10:07bit of a security blanket to be honest, but also to like make it
- 10:10a little bit more exciting. But I didn't.
- 10:13And so today's day 39, which is a huge, huge win.
- 10:16I'm very, very proud of myself. My Haribo gummy bear consumption
- 10:20has significantly increased. I basically exchanged mango
- 10:24sticky rice for Haribo gummy bears, which in the grand scheme
- 10:28of things, better than nicotine for sure, 100%.
- 10:34So that's my little update for you.
- 10:35I've got a couple Q&A's, so let's get right to it.
- 10:39We have a question from Mira about men losing respect for you
- 10:43after you have sex with them, and then another question about
- 10:48how to let someone take care of you when you're used to being a
- 10:52strong, independent woman. So let's get started with the
- 10:56questions. Hi son, good morning.
- 11:00This is Mira. I'm calling from Oakland and I'm
- 11:04Jewish, so brevity is not my strong suit, But I am so curious
- 11:09as to unpacking, untangling the ways in which men lose respect
- 11:16for women if you have sex too soon.
- 11:19So I think for many women in my generation, we've been taught
- 11:23and inspired to be sexually free and liberated.
- 11:27And sometimes that means acting on desire, of bucking on the
- 11:31first time you meet someone or the second time.
- 11:34And I just think that even if men say that that's what they
- 11:39want or what not, if you're working towards wanting
- 11:41something deeper, wanting relationship, ongoing
- 11:44connection, there is this way in which men, and I think it's
- 11:47subconscious because many of them have not done your work on
- 11:52doing patriarchy and misogyny and all the things.
- 11:55But yeah, I think there is this subconscious sees plants that of
- 12:00disrespect. And I don't know whether that's
- 12:02just because like the case is done, the desire is gone, but if
- 12:06you can unpack that, especially with how do you maintain the
- 12:11self restraint to also be prolonging getting your needs
- 12:16met right on the other end as a woman.
- 12:18So there's that. OK.
- 12:20Thank you. Peace.
- 12:22Mira, thank you for the question.
- 12:23There's a lot to unpack here. I will do my best.
- 12:26I will start by saying that most of the women that I've ended up
- 12:29being in partnership with, we have had sex fairly soon in a
- 12:32relationship, probably within the first couple of dates.
- 12:35And I didn't lose respect for them because I was genuinely
- 12:40excited to spend more time with them and to see them again and
- 12:45to have sex with them again. There was enough, I think, that
- 12:49my attachment wound was stimulated in a way that I was
- 12:54excited and curious to continue to get to know them.
- 12:57And I have had one experience where we didn't have sex for a
- 13:00long time, months really, because she was in an open
- 13:03relationship and her partner wasn't quite ready for us to
- 13:06explore sexually. So my experience is that sex
- 13:10doesn't mean that I that I'm going to lose respect for
- 13:13somebody. I will say, however, that there
- 13:15has been a handful of times, there's several handfuls where
- 13:18sexual arousal was running the show and I didn't know that at
- 13:21the time. And once we had sex, the arousal
- 13:25and the desire was gone. And so was my desire to pursue
- 13:28that person, right? So it's not that I lost respect
- 13:32for them. It's just that like there wasn't
- 13:34anything else deeper there for me to explore.
- 13:37I mean, at least that's what I'm telling myself.
- 13:39Who knows if there is deeper conditioning running there.
- 13:42I mean, for sure there is. So to respond to your question,
- 13:45there is a lot going on under the surface that a lot of people
- 13:49haven't worked on, including myself.
- 13:52They're definitely, you know, some of this work that I haven't
- 13:54done or unpacked yet. But what's happening is
- 13:57something along the lines of the Madonna whore complex, which is
- 14:02a Freudian concept that basically says that men cannot
- 14:06hold that a woman can both be a Madonna, which is a wife
- 14:10material, pure, desired for a love relationship, and a whore,
- 14:15somebody that they lust for and desire sex and sexual connection
- 14:21with. So they're unable to hold both
- 14:24of those. What do we do about this?
- 14:26I think what we do is that you will have to find men who are
- 14:30the exception, who have done their work.
- 14:32And one suggestion that I have is that we need to find dudes
- 14:38who are both caring and sexy. So they're both able to hold
- 14:46your tenderness and are caring and sweet and loving and able to
- 14:51turn on the sexy, I want to rip your clothes off kind of
- 14:56attitude towards sex. So they have to hold both of
- 15:00those. And so can you be discerning at
- 15:04the beginning and try to identify men who hold both of
- 15:08these inside of them. And that might require a little
- 15:11bit more waiting on your behalf, right?
- 15:15It doesn't have to be weeks, but it could be a few more dates.
- 15:18And we want to find men who, when you have sex with them,
- 15:23which is kind of hard to do because you're going to, you're
- 15:25going to find out after the fact.
- 15:26But when you have sex with them, they don't lose respect for you.
- 15:30They actually gain respect for you because they feel like they
- 15:33have been sort of chosen, right? So they feel like their status
- 15:38has been elevated because they've been chosen by you.
- 15:41So all of this, I think, is fairly hard to do.
- 15:45I think it's worth maybe slowing down a little bit, not to play
- 15:49games, but so that you can get a little bit more information
- 15:52about the kind of person that you're wanting to have sex with.
- 15:56And if you're wanting something more serious than just casual
- 16:00sex, then get really clear with yourself about why you're
- 16:05wanting to have sex with this person.
- 16:07Is it because you want to experience sex or because you
- 16:10want to deepen with them or because you want to meet some of
- 16:14your needs? Or is it because I want to have
- 16:16sex so that I can sort of like lock this guy in?
- 16:20That sounds bad, but some women do use sex as a way to make sure
- 16:24that the guy sticks around. And that might be a little
- 16:26counterintuitive and it might be a little counterproductive too
- 16:29as well. So I hope that makes sense.
- 16:32I'm also super open to your experience.
- 16:34So if you've experienced this in the past or you've been able to
- 16:37figure out how to be a little bit more discerning so that you
- 16:41can find like a more integrated man, please leave me a comment
- 16:45either on Spotify or on YouTube or e-mail podcast at the love
- 16:49dr.com or leave a voicemail 415-494-9559.
- 16:54Because I'm not a woman. I don't know, I don't have a
- 16:56woman's experience, and I would love to hear from you.
- 16:59So Mira, I hope that helps. I think you're right on.
- 17:02This is happening in the background.
- 17:04A lot of men want to be more liberated and unfortunately want
- 17:09to want a more liberated woman, but there's still this
- 17:11conditioning happening underneath it all.
- 17:13So best of luck. OK, here's our second question
- 17:18and then I'm going to go explore more soul.
- 17:21Here we go. Oh hey, this is Caitlin and I'm
- 17:24from Edmonton, AB, Canada. I'm a full time single mom of
- 17:28two boys in hockey. I own my own house, my own
- 17:31vehicle and I've run my own business for 11 years.
- 17:34So naturally I'm strong and independent even when I don't
- 17:37want to be. To be honest, I don't know how
- 17:40to let someone take care of me. I have really been in that
- 17:43position. I've always had to be the one
- 17:46holding everything together. I've developed this belief that
- 17:49in order to be loved I have to prove myself fully.
- 17:53So my question is, how does a woman like me step into her
- 17:56feminine energy and learn to receive without feeling like
- 18:00everything still depends on me to make it happen?
- 18:03Because I would love to be able to let someone in, I just don't
- 18:06know how to. Thank you so much.
- 18:09Oh, hey, thank you for this beautiful question.
- 18:12I hope you heard last week's episode with Laura Griffith,
- 18:15because we talk a little bit about this.
- 18:17This is extremely common. First of all, I just want to
- 18:20sort of validate your experience.
- 18:21And even Laura, who is a somatic therapist and sex and
- 18:26relationship coach, has a hard time letting compliments in or
- 18:32letting love in or letting herself receive.
- 18:35So this is very, very, very common.
- 18:37I'm really glad you asked this question.
- 18:39Also, I sort of just want to give you some props and some
- 18:42love for everything that you have been able to do.
- 18:44Owning your own business, taking care of two boys, buying your
- 18:47own car. Like you are incredibly
- 18:50independent and I, and my guess is that you've had to be that
- 18:54for a reason, right? You didn't choose this.
- 18:57This is a survival mechanism probably based on childhood
- 19:00stuff or, you know, your past experiences of having just had
- 19:04to take care of yourself. So lots and lots and lots of
- 19:07love for what you've been able to do.
- 19:09Then I also think really quickly, I don't love masculine
- 19:12feminine stuff. I really, really struggle with
- 19:14it. Part of me thinks that it's
- 19:15repackaged patriarchy that the other part of me sees that like,
- 19:19yes, there are some qualities that might be seen as inherently
- 19:23masculine and feminine and we possess the ability to have both
- 19:26of those inside of us. Like I'm still struggling with
- 19:28that stuff. So I'm not going to really use
- 19:31the masculine feminine stuff, but I am going to use sort of
- 19:33like giving and receiving energy.
- 19:35And I don't think that you have to give up on any of your like
- 19:38giving, providing slash energy to be more in your receptive
- 19:44self, right? Like I don't think they're
- 19:46mutually exclusive. I don't think it's a 0 sum game.
- 19:48You don't have to give up some of to get some of the other O.
- 19:52How do you do this? Baby steps.
- 19:56All of this is always going to be slowly overtime, and this
- 19:59applies to any new thing. We're not just going to go
- 20:03straight from the kiddie pool into the deep end.
- 20:06Like that's a good way to either re traumatize or traumatize or
- 20:09just have like a really, really bad time, which will make it
- 20:12actually probably even harder for you to open up into the
- 20:14future. So slowly overtime and with the
- 20:17right people. So those are the two things.
- 20:20Slowly overtime means like, OK, take it easy, right?
- 20:23Like learn to receive a little bit.
- 20:26So that might be a compliment without deflecting.
- 20:28That might be asking someone for help when you're used to doing
- 20:32it on your own, you know, like sometimes I need help moving
- 20:35furniture and I will ask somebody, but I it's frustrating
- 20:39because like, I want to do it now and people aren't available
- 20:41to help whenever I need the help.
- 20:43But like, an example is if you need someone to pick your kids
- 20:46up from school or for to bring them to hockey, or if you need
- 20:50some help around the house, or if there's something that you
- 20:52need some help with that you would normally do alone, but
- 20:54that you think would actually be better if someone else helped
- 20:56you. Can you try, can you try doing
- 20:59that and see how it feels inside of you?
- 21:00Right. So that's one thing is like
- 21:02you're going to baby step your way into receiving more.
- 21:06There's also this element of like when you ask someone like
- 21:09sometimes you'll, sometimes you OK, This is what I think is
- 21:12happening partially is that you do everything yourself because
- 21:17you don't trust that someone else will do it as well as you
- 21:19do. But, you know, that's how I
- 21:23operate. My standards are so high that I
- 21:26just don't think that anybody else will be able to do it the
- 21:28way I do it. I also have to trust that other
- 21:32people's ways of doing things is also OK.
- 21:35It's different. And also, when I ask someone, it
- 21:38means that I don't actually have to do it myself.
- 21:40So maybe I can relax a little bit.
- 21:42It does require trust. So I think the second piece here
- 21:46is, who do you open up with? And trust is earned slowly over
- 21:52time. And So what you'll need to do is
- 21:55small disclosures and see how people respond, right?
- 22:01So you want to open up to someone who is safe for you to
- 22:03open up to. But how do we know who's safe
- 22:06and who's not safe? Because if you open up to
- 22:08somebody who's not safe, then then you will experience
- 22:11confirmation bias, which is like, oh, I knew, I know, I knew
- 22:15it. People aren't safe for me to
- 22:16open up to. I can't trust people.
- 22:18I can't receive. And here's evidence of that,
- 22:21right? So we want to be really careful
- 22:23who we open up to. And by what you do is you, you
- 22:26do small disclosures, right? So you're probably used to
- 22:29saying that everything is fine all the time.
- 22:31The boys are good, the, the, the business is great, everything's
- 22:34great. But inside you, you, I'm
- 22:37guessing, are probably not feeling seen, not feeling heard,
- 22:41lacking a little bit of touch presence, like, I can imagine
- 22:45all those things would feel really good to you.
- 22:47So if someone asks you how you're doing, maybe you can, you
- 22:49can start by saying, oh, you know, not great.
- 22:52And then if they go, oh, why, like, why, why you have
- 22:57everything like your life is so good.
- 22:58What, what, what could possibly be not great.
- 23:02That's not something you want to open up to.
- 23:04Or if someone says, oh, oh, I'm sorry to hear that.
- 23:08What's going on? That would be the indicator of
- 23:11someone who is able to hold you. And with that person, you might
- 23:16be able to go a little bit deeper, right?
- 23:19So that's what I mean by these small disclosures to see how
- 23:23people respond. Do they use it as an opportunity
- 23:26to also share something like, Oh, I'm so sorry, that's that
- 23:29you're not doing well. Like I could totally relate.
- 23:31I've, I've had kind of a hard week as well, right?
- 23:33Like that's nice that that's like someone that you can
- 23:36probably share a little bit of yourself with, do this with
- 23:39friends so that you can eventually do this with a lover,
- 23:43right? I guess the last thing I will
- 23:45say is that I think your nervous system has learned over time,
- 23:48right, That if you don't hold it all together, everything falls
- 23:52apart. And so that softening for you is
- 23:55going to equal quite a bit of risk.
- 23:58And there is a part of this that is going to be really scary and
- 24:05that you are going to have to take some risks and risk opening
- 24:09up a little bit to see what happens.
- 24:11And there might even come a time where you open up and it's not
- 24:15received very well or you don't get the help that you're
- 24:18receiving that you're wanting to receive or, or it kind of just
- 24:21like backfires on you. And I hope that you don't use
- 24:24that as an opportunity to kind of never open up again.
- 24:27But for you to have the experience of like, oh, wow, OK.
- 24:30Gosh, I trusted in that scenario.
- 24:33And that didn't really work. And I got hurt.
- 24:35I got hurt and I'm going to be OK.
- 24:38I'm going to be OK because I think the reality is that like,
- 24:42you're always going to be OK. You've always got you and you're
- 24:46good. You know, that worst case
- 24:48scenario, you go back to who you've have, who you've been and
- 24:51you just keep taking care of yourself.
- 24:53But I think the, the stretch here is, is going to be for you
- 24:57to like take small risks and let people let people in and let
- 25:01yourself be seen and ask for things that you need, even if
- 25:04it's really, really, really hard, right?
- 25:07Because ultimately, then you're going to be able to lean on
- 25:09other people also. OK, last thing I'm going to say
- 25:12about this. You allowing others in is a gift
- 25:16for them. I can imagine as a big helper,
- 25:19you love it when people ask you for help, right?
- 25:22It makes you feel special. It makes you feel useful.
- 25:26It brings a lot of joy to your life.
- 25:29By not giving people that opportunity, you're robbing them
- 25:32of that experience. There are people in your life
- 25:35who also want to play the role that you play for them.
- 25:38So let them, let them, let them take care of you a little bit,
- 25:42right? OK, Love Lies.
