Sailors on Lake Champlain got exactly what they prayed for—strong winds—and delivered thrilling races at the Diamond Island Regatta and Split Rock Race, raising over $4,000 for the Lake Champlain Maritime Museum. Boats from across the lake, even from Quebec, battled under the Performance Handicap Racing Fleet system, which levels the playing field by adjusting finish times. Saturday’s winner, Odinn, was overtaken by J/105s MOOvin’ Up and others in corrected time.
