SPEAKER_03: Hi, and welcome to this episode of Sass and Sips.
• 0:14
  SPEAKER_03: I'm Lisa.
• 0:15
  SPEAKER_03: And I'm Agnes.
• 0:16
SPEAKER_03: And you are not in 2021.
• 0:19
  SPEAKER_03: You heard that right.
• 0:21
  SPEAKER_03: Um bad bitches.
• 0:23
  SPEAKER_03: That's right.
• 0:25
SPEAKER_03: So after uh only two years, I think I have finally convinced Agnes that she actually really does love Lost and she wants to get back into it.
• 0:35
SPEAKER_01: And she you convinced me.
• 0:38
SPEAKER_01: I think I was like, hey Lisa, I think we could record Friday.
• 0:43
SPEAKER_01: That was like two days ago.
• 0:44
SPEAKER_03: So I mean, yeah, that that is true.
• 0:48
SPEAKER_03: Um, I'd like to take the credit, but it was actually all her ideas.
• 0:52
SPEAKER_03: So woohoo! Um, you know who's gonna be happy?
• 0:57
  SPEAKER_01: Who?
• 0:58
  SPEAKER_01: Everybody.
• 0:59
SPEAKER_03: Oh, I well, yes, but besides everybody, our one particular friend that we record with after every season.
• 1:06
SPEAKER_03: I was thinking about this.
• 1:08
SPEAKER_03: He I because I came across the um the TikTok clip, uh-huh, like literally just a couple of weeks ago, where he's talking about how season four is his favorite season.
• 1:21
SPEAKER_03: Oh, you know what I'm talking about.
• 1:23
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yes, he's doing big things.
• 1:26
SPEAKER_03: He is doing big things, so but maybe he'll have time to carve out for us.
• 1:30
SPEAKER_03: Maybe we could pencil this in, maybe you know, once we get through this season, hint hint.
• 1:36
SPEAKER_01: Hopefully we can finish it and won't take like another two years to do one season.
• 1:42
SPEAKER_03: But so, truth be told, you know, we all do have shit going on, and side note, we will still be doing six feet under.
• 1:52
SPEAKER_03: But as Agnes's busy, busy, busy schedule frees up, we'll be throwing more and more of these episodes in for you guys who are still listening in for lost.
• 2:03
  SPEAKER_03: So, yay! Yay!
• 2:05
SPEAKER_01: You are eating frosting, I'm eating frosting out of the container because it was something sweet, and I always keep things in my pantry, you know.
• 2:16
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, for the last minute stuff.
• 2:18
SPEAKER_03: I have frosting in my pantry too.
• 2:20
SPEAKER_01: Um, but this is just not any frosting.
• 2:24
SPEAKER_01: I have uh I had an orange emulsion flavoring I have from a baking project.
• 2:32
SPEAKER_01: Um, so I put a little bit of that in there.
• 2:34
  SPEAKER_03: Nice.
• 2:34
  SPEAKER_01: I wanted chocolate.
• 2:36
SPEAKER_01: Now, if I put a cocoa powder in it, I would have had to actually take it out, blend it, and then put it back in.
• 2:41
  SPEAKER_01: I didn't feel like that.
• 2:42
SPEAKER_01: So I went the lazy girl way and added chocolate syrup.
• 2:46
  SPEAKER_03: Oh shit.
• 2:46
  SPEAKER_03: Seriously.
• 2:47
SPEAKER_01: So I have like those orange.
• 2:49
SPEAKER_03: I have one in the fridge right now.
• 2:51
  SPEAKER_03: I got you hooked.
• 2:52
SPEAKER_03: You did get me hooked.
• 2:53
SPEAKER_03: It'll still be here when you come visit.
• 2:56
  SPEAKER_03: When I what?
• 2:57
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 2:58
SPEAKER_03: I also hashtag kidnapping Agnes, which I think I mentioned to Britney on the last time we recorded.
• 3:05
SPEAKER_03: I yeah, I told her I finally like kind of twisted your arm hard enough to get you on a plane.
• 3:13
  SPEAKER_03: You're on mute.
• 3:14
SPEAKER_03: Oh, you're not on mute.
• 3:16
  SPEAKER_03: I'm just joking.
• 3:18
  SPEAKER_03: I'm just joking.
• 3:22
SPEAKER_01: You twisted my arm by me receiving an email while I'm on the phone with you about my about my plane ticket.
• 3:29
  SPEAKER_01: I was like, okay.
• 3:31
SPEAKER_03: Okay, so the the big question right now is what are you drinking with your Dr.
• 3:36
  SPEAKER_03: Dup frosting?
• 3:38
SPEAKER_01: Caramel apple, some kind of white wine.
• 3:41
  SPEAKER_01: What's a caramel apple?
• 3:43
  SPEAKER_01: Nice.
• 3:44
SPEAKER_03: I have a recipe for caramel apple sangria.
• 3:47
SPEAKER_03: So when you come, we are gonna have to make that.
• 3:51
SPEAKER_03: I have my standby red wine.
• 3:54
  SPEAKER_03: I'm a basic bitch today.
• 3:56
SPEAKER_03: I'm waiting for the fridge guy to come, and I was not in the mood to do anything fancy.
• 4:02
SPEAKER_01: So I mean, if it's not drunk, don't fix it.
• 4:05
SPEAKER_01: And I'm talking about the refrigerator, talking about the choice of alcohol.
• 4:08
  SPEAKER_03: Exactly.
• 4:09
  SPEAKER_03: So that's that.
• 4:11
SPEAKER_03: Um, but yes, I am so excited because season four is so fucking awesome.
• 4:19
  SPEAKER_01: It better be.
• 4:20
SPEAKER_01: They dragged me in here just when I thought I was out.
• 4:23
SPEAKER_01: They pulled me back in.
• 4:26
  SPEAKER_03: Yes, yes, yes.
• 4:28
SPEAKER_01: So the third godfather movie was completely like slept on.
• 4:35
  SPEAKER_03: I didn't see any of them.
• 4:38
SPEAKER_03: I started to watch the first one and I got about halfway and was like, is this movie still on?
• 4:44
SPEAKER_01: I might have to end our friendship.
• 4:48
  SPEAKER_01: But back to Lost.
• 4:49
  SPEAKER_01: I'm a sorry, yeah.
• 4:50
SPEAKER_01: Let's just hope my plane doesn't like end up this.
• 4:53
  SPEAKER_03: Oh my god.
• 4:54
SPEAKER_03: Well, there's no random islands to land on between your state and my state, so but that would be the randomness.
• 5:01
  SPEAKER_01: Let's go poof.
• 5:03
SPEAKER_03: Actually, yeah, that would be even more fucking sci-fi.
• 5:07
SPEAKER_01: And you would be like the best podcaster on it because you're gonna actually talk about it on your podcast.
• 5:12
  SPEAKER_03: Of course.
• 5:14
SPEAKER_03: Okay, so you know, whatever happened to Agnes is playing.
• 5:17
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, you see, you like how I did that?
• 5:24
SPEAKER_03: So we're gonna we're gonna talk about all of our friends that we left on an island a few years ago.
• 5:30
SPEAKER_01: Okay, let's see if I can remember.
• 5:32
SPEAKER_03: Okay, I printed out from Lost Wiki, and we'll just do it that way.
• 5:39
SPEAKER_03: And you remember, interrupt me when you have some kind of sassy comment.
• 5:45
  SPEAKER_03: Me?
• 5:46
  SPEAKER_03: Sassy?
• 5:47
SPEAKER_03: A little bit, just a little bit, a little bit.
• 5:50
  SPEAKER_03: Okay, so let's start.
• 5:52
SPEAKER_03: The episode actually opens off the island, so we'll do that and then we'll go to the island.
• 5:59
SPEAKER_03: You want to do that?
• 6:01
SPEAKER_03: Whatever you whatever you say, boss.
• 6:03
SPEAKER_03: Okay, the episode opens with a car chase.
• 6:08
SPEAKER_03: Yes, okay, yes, yes, and we see this like beautiful, serene beach scene, and a pile of mangoes, like whoa, hi, and then boom, a Camaro comes crashing right into it.
• 6:24
SPEAKER_03: Long story short, it's Hurley in the Camaro.
• 6:27
SPEAKER_03: Do you recognize the Camaro?
• 6:29
  SPEAKER_03: I know it's been a while.
• 6:31
SPEAKER_03: That was the car that he had been fixing up with his dad ever since he was a kid.
• 6:36
  SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah, I didn't remember that.
• 6:38
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, we see the car chase playing out on the news, and we cut to a scene with Jack pouring himself a morning uh screwdriver.
• 6:50
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah.
• 6:52
SPEAKER_03: And he's watching the coverage, and once they they talk about the Camaro, Jack is like, Oh shit, uh fuck.
• 7:00
SPEAKER_03: He knows the Camaro is cornered, it crashes, the police are like, get out of the car, and that's it.
• 7:10
  SPEAKER_03: And I don't know why.
• 7:11
SPEAKER_03: I mean, I love Hurley to death, but I don't know why he thought he could run away.
• 7:16
SPEAKER_01: Well, to be fair, he is mentally unstable.
• 7:21
  SPEAKER_01: But really, is he?
• 7:23
SPEAKER_01: Well, I think he is.
• 7:24
SPEAKER_03: I feel like that I mean, wasn't there a like he was in the he was in a facility before the ocean, before yeah, so he was in the facility because he went onto a deck and the deck collapsed, and he blamed himself right.
• 7:49
  SPEAKER_03: Okay, that's a good point.
• 7:50
  SPEAKER_00: Okay, right, right, right.
• 7:52
SPEAKER_03: At some point, they say something to the effect of that the the deck was made for like eight people and there were like 20 on it, so it wasn't his fault.
• 8:02
SPEAKER_03: But then he struggles with the whole I'm not crazy thing, because he's he's not crazy.
• 8:07
SPEAKER_01: Not he's not, maybe he's not, but there's a lot to be said for post-traumatic oh absolutely.
• 8:14
SPEAKER_01: So maybe he's not correct, maybe he's not like clinically insane, but you know, right, right.
• 8:22
SPEAKER_01: There's something going on there, and that's why we love him so much, though.
• 8:25
SPEAKER_01: I know, I honestly when I see the actor in different things, he's like this.
• 8:29
SPEAKER_01: I think he's the same person, like not the particular character, but there's certain characteristics of each character he plays.
• 8:39
SPEAKER_01: That's he's just the same across the board.
• 8:41
SPEAKER_01: I'm like, that's probably who he is.
• 8:43
  SPEAKER_01: We love him.
• 9:10
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, so he runs, they catch him, and he tells them, Don't you know who I am?
• 9:15
SPEAKER_03: I'm one of the oceanic six.
• 9:18
SPEAKER_03: So now that's a term that we're gonna hear about all season.
• 9:24
SPEAKER_01: Just I kind of gathered.
• 9:26
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 9:27
SPEAKER_01: So we're gonna get it.
• 9:28
SPEAKER_01: Is it safe to me to assume that only six made it back?
• 9:33
SPEAKER_01: I mean, you can assume made it back.
• 9:37
SPEAKER_03: Or if you assume there's a lot more than six, right?
• 9:40
SPEAKER_03: No, I'm not assuming that because I was gonna say, if you assume that, then what happened to everybody else?
• 9:45
  SPEAKER_01: I mean, well, we'll go on.
• 9:48
SPEAKER_01: We'll finish with this episode as we get to that toilet.
• 9:50
SPEAKER_01: Because I'm like, oh really now.
• 9:53
SPEAKER_01: Because I feel like in my head, there's six, and but then there's another, I think they came in groups.
• 10:00
SPEAKER_01: I think they came in groups, and he's group number six.
• 10:04
SPEAKER_01: The group with six in it.
• 10:05
  SPEAKER_01: Okay, okay.
• 10:07
SPEAKER_01: You heard it here first, people, huh?
• 10:09
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I was gonna say that's actually a pretty reasonable guess.
• 10:14
SPEAKER_01: But wrong, but reasonable, okay.
• 10:18
SPEAKER_03: All right, so now we're we're gonna do the on-island stuff.
• 10:22
SPEAKER_03: Hurley is standing besides the Dharma van and he radios Jack for an update on the call to the freighter.
• 10:29
SPEAKER_03: Jack confirms that he spoke to them and that Naomi's people are on their way to pick them up.
• 10:36
SPEAKER_03: Jack winks at Ben after informing an ecstatic Hurley that they're going to meet them by the beach, so Hurley should pack up his bags.
• 10:46
SPEAKER_03: Hurley runs to the others at the beach to tell them the good news.
• 10:50
SPEAKER_03: Jin and Saeed finish collecting guns from the dead others who attack them.
• 10:55
SPEAKER_03: Actually, it's more like Sawyer standing there drinking a beer while Juliet digs graves.
• 11:02
  SPEAKER_03: Right.
• 11:02
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 11:03
SPEAKER_01: Well, and I remember from the many, many, many years ago, I'm like, yeah, that's on brand.
• 11:08
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 11:09
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, no, it's comforting, it's like coming home.
• 11:15
SPEAKER_03: Although we do see some of his character development in in this episode, and the same with Hurley.
• 11:23
  SPEAKER_01: Yes.
• 11:24
SPEAKER_03: So on the shore, Hurley is telling Bernard about how he won the lottery and that it was a curse.
• 11:30
SPEAKER_03: And Bernard is like, oh yeah,$150 million.
• 11:33
  SPEAKER_03: Who needs that?
• 11:35
SPEAKER_01: But it's a curse that I would gladly accept at this point.
• 11:38
SPEAKER_03: I I'd like to find out for myself as well.
• 11:42
SPEAKER_03: Hurley figures that since he's presumed dead in the crash, that his money will all be gone and that he'll be free.
• 11:49
SPEAKER_03: He decides he wants to do a cannibal dive into the ocean, reveling in his sense of freedom.
• 11:55
SPEAKER_03: Bernard is like, yeah, go for it.
• 11:58
SPEAKER_01: This cannibal just cannibal the shit out of that ocean.
• 12:02
  SPEAKER_03: Seriously.
• 12:04
SPEAKER_03: This moment is one of the truest ways that lost fucks with your soul.
• 12:15
SPEAKER_03: Because remember, when we last left off in the end of season three, the whole goal was to go down to the looking glass.
• 12:24
SPEAKER_03: Charlie was gonna turn off the signal so that the boat can come and rescue us.
• 12:30
SPEAKER_03: So now, her, as far as Hurley knows, the signal is off, the boat is on their way, and everything is peachy because they just got rescued.
• 12:41
SPEAKER_03: And you see that pure joy, that fucking moment, and Hurley is just running, doing his cannonball, pure fucking joy.
• 12:52
SPEAKER_03: But as he comes back up to the surface, we see Desmond coming back on the boat, and it shoots your fucking feelings to hell.
• 13:02
  SPEAKER_01: The fucking.
• 13:04
  SPEAKER_01: The fucking thing.
• 13:08
  SPEAKER_03: Because Desmond is alone.
• 13:10
SPEAKER_03: Hurley realizes this right away.
• 13:13
SPEAKER_03: Desmond is telling everyone that the ship is not what it claims to be, and they're all arguing.
• 13:18
SPEAKER_03: Sawyer wants to do the walkie-talkie, and this whole time Hurley is like, Where's Charlie?
• 13:24
  SPEAKER_03: Where's Charlie?
• 13:25
SPEAKER_03: Until he finally is yelling, and then Desmond has to break the news.
• 13:29
SPEAKER_03: But we start to see a new side of Hurley because Hurley is like starting to not take fucks anymore.
• 13:37
SPEAKER_03: Like he's coming into his gen Xism.
• 13:42
SPEAKER_01: If that's a yeah, I think it is now.
• 13:45
SPEAKER_01: I would prefer, I would I'll perfect that in upcoming episodes.
• 13:50
SPEAKER_03: You already hear upcoming episodes.
• 13:54
SPEAKER_03: Saeed doesn't want to use the walkie-talkie because he's afraid that the people on the freight are monitoring communications.
• 14:02
SPEAKER_03: And so uh Sawyer is like, Well, I have the walkie-talkie, so I'll you know, I'll just do what I want.
• 14:08
SPEAKER_03: Hurley grabs the walkie-talkie and tosses that bitch into the ocean.
• 14:11
SPEAKER_01: And it was a very good toss.
• 14:13
SPEAKER_03: I was like, ooh, it was that was a power behind that, and he's like, Oh, I guess now we gotta get going.
• 14:20
SPEAKER_03: Sawyer is like dumbstruck because he's like, What the fuck just happened?
• 14:26
SPEAKER_01: He's like, I feel like he's like, What happened?
• 14:30
SPEAKER_01: Where's Hurling and what have we done with him?
• 14:33
SPEAKER_01: That was that was a Sawyer move.
• 14:35
SPEAKER_01: That's to be honest, that was a Sawyer move done on Sawyer.
• 14:39
SPEAKER_03: And we're gonna talk more about this scene at the end because I have some some notes on it.
• 14:45
  SPEAKER_01: You do?
• 14:45
  SPEAKER_01: I'm so surprised.
• 14:47
  SPEAKER_03: Oh, I know shocking.
• 14:49
SPEAKER_03: At the radio tower, Jack and the rest of the survivors are preparing to be rescued.
• 14:54
SPEAKER_03: Sun expresses her relief at being able to deliver her baby in a hospital, and Claire jokes about Sun rubbing it in.
• 15:01
SPEAKER_03: Rose joins them, and Claire tells Rose that her husband was quite the hero.
• 15:06
SPEAKER_03: And Rose tells her that everyone knows Charlie is the real hero and tells Claire to treat him real good when he gets back.
• 15:14
  SPEAKER_03: Ugh, my heart.
• 15:15
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 15:16
SPEAKER_03: I mean, I'm not even like particularly like that fond of Charlie as a character, but man, they just keep rubbing it in.
• 15:23
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, watching, I had to watch um the last season, the season three, the last episode, just to refresh myself.
• 15:31
SPEAKER_01: And I was not okay, ugly crying was not the word for it.
• 15:36
SPEAKER_01: It was like snot coming out my nose, it was like hideous crying.
• 15:41
SPEAKER_03: Thank God you didn't have to watch greatest hits.
• 15:43
SPEAKER_03: To me, that one always hits harder.
• 15:45
SPEAKER_03: Okay, I'm not watching that one.
• 15:47
SPEAKER_03: No, no, no, don't watch that unless you really need a good cry.
• 15:50
SPEAKER_01: I don't need anything to to uh preempt a cry.
• 15:53
  SPEAKER_01: I'm good.
• 15:53
  SPEAKER_01: I just wake up.
• 15:54
  SPEAKER_01: I'm like, oh fuck.
• 15:58
SPEAKER_03: All right, so Ben is still tied to a tree, and he sees Alex and Carl happily talking.
• 16:03
SPEAKER_03: They look like they're having a fucking picnic.
• 16:05
  SPEAKER_02: I mean, I guess.
• 16:07
SPEAKER_03: What else do they have to do?
• 16:10
SPEAKER_03: But he's talking to Rousseau, and he wants her to take Alex and flee because he believes that everyone's gonna die.
• 16:17
SPEAKER_03: Ben refers to Alex as his daughter, and Rousseau was like, uh-uh, not today.
• 16:23
  SPEAKER_03: Whack.
• 16:24
SPEAKER_01: You got the right one on the wrong day.
• 16:26
SPEAKER_03: Keep like he she is like, she just slapped him right across the face, and she's like, she's not your daughter.
• 16:34
SPEAKER_01: I felt like it was more than a slap because I happened to be looking down and I looked up when I heard, when I heard, I'm like, dang, like it she could have punched him.
• 16:43
  SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
• 16:43
SPEAKER_01: I felt like it was a yeah, it was a better angle.
• 16:46
SPEAKER_01: If he wasn't tied to the tree, she would have knocked him out.
• 16:48
SPEAKER_01: Like I'm pretty sure that would have happened.
• 16:50
  SPEAKER_03: Oh fucking, yeah.
• 16:52
SPEAKER_03: Um Jack and Kate are discussing their imminent rescue, and Jack tells her that if he sees Locke, he's gonna kill him.
• 17:02
SPEAKER_03: They received oh, so this is also referring to the fact that Locke decided to throw a knife into Naomi's back.
• 17:11
  SPEAKER_03: Right.
• 17:12
SPEAKER_03: But this was all like the last episode.
• 17:14
  SPEAKER_00: Last episode.
• 17:15
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, they get a call on the satellite phone from Minkowski, who side note the voice on the phone is not the same as the voice from last season.
• 17:27
SPEAKER_03: They got the actor who's gonna play this part.
• 17:31
SPEAKER_03: Did you recognize the voice at all?
• 17:34
  SPEAKER_03: Absolutely not.
• 17:35
  SPEAKER_01: Okay, should I have?
• 17:37
  SPEAKER_03: You might have.
• 17:38
SPEAKER_01: I mean, as a character in the show or as an actor outside.
• 17:43
  SPEAKER_01: Oh, uh no, I didn't.
• 17:45
  SPEAKER_01: Okay.
• 17:46
SPEAKER_03: When you see him, you'll be like, oh, I know that guy.
• 17:48
  SPEAKER_03: That's all.
• 17:49
  SPEAKER_00: Oh, okay.
• 17:51
SPEAKER_03: Menkowski says that they're having trouble getting a fix on the location and that they need to change some of the settings on the phone.
• 17:57
SPEAKER_03: He wants to talk to Naomi.
• 17:59
SPEAKER_03: Not wanting to reveal the fact that Naomi is dead.
• 18:03
SPEAKER_03: Jack tells him that she's gathering firewood.
• 18:07
SPEAKER_03: At the same moment, Kate realizes that Naomi's body is actually gone.
• 18:13
SPEAKER_03: Rousseau finds a trail of Naomi's blood, which she and Jack prepare to follow.
• 18:18
SPEAKER_03: But before they go, Kate tells Jack that she has also found a trail of blood and thinks Naomi may be trying to trick them.
• 18:25
SPEAKER_03: Jack mansplains that Naomi is injured and isn't thinking about creating dummy trails.
• 18:33
SPEAKER_03: And then he drags Ben along because he doesn't trust him with anyone else.
• 18:37
SPEAKER_03: So they all are leaving for the beach now.
• 18:42
SPEAKER_03: Jack, Rousseau, and Ben reach the end of what they realize is actually a dummy trail.
• 18:48
  unknown: Shocker.
• 18:49
  SPEAKER_01: I right?
• 18:50
SPEAKER_01: You think he'll listen to her more often, but no, I am man, I am right.
• 18:56
  SPEAKER_03: I know.
• 18:56
  SPEAKER_03: It's like I am Jack.
• 18:57
  SPEAKER_03: Hear me roar.
• 18:58
  SPEAKER_01: I feel like there's that's the one thing I'm sorry.
• 19:01
  SPEAKER_01: That's I wouldn't.
• 19:03
SPEAKER_01: It didn't take me any time to remember, like, yeah.
• 19:06
SPEAKER_03: How much he annoys you.
• 19:08
SPEAKER_01: Annoys the fuck out of me.
• 19:11
SPEAKER_03: Uh Jack realizes at this moment that the phone is missing, and Ben always with the fucking one-liners, not even one-liners, that's like with the quick wit is more like it.
• 19:22
SPEAKER_03: He's like, he saw Kate take the phone while he um while she was hugging Jack goodbye, but decided not to say anything because he owed you one.
• 19:33
SPEAKER_03: Like, as much as you're like, oh my god, fucking Ben, but like you can't help but love him.
• 19:38
SPEAKER_01: He actually, I mean, whether he's good, bad, evil, whatever he's a great character.
• 19:47
  SPEAKER_01: A hundred percent.
• 19:48
SPEAKER_01: And he's one of those things, you're like, he's likable in the sense that any sarcastic person can appreciate, like, that's my dude.
• 19:58
SPEAKER_01: Like, you can't, everyone needs a bin in their life on some level.
• 20:02
SPEAKER_01: I mean, not necessarily the crazy, I'll kill you, but the whole, yeah, but you just hope that they're he's on your side, yeah.
• 20:09
SPEAKER_01: Okay, yeah, you could be a killer you got my back.
• 20:12
  SPEAKER_01: I'm okay with that.
• 20:13
SPEAKER_01: Yes, I said that, and no, I'm not sorry.
• 20:16
  SPEAKER_03: Okay, okay.
• 20:20
SPEAKER_03: So, meanwhile, Kate is heading into the jungle to find Naomi on her own.
• 20:24
SPEAKER_03: Because Kate is a badass and she does not need Jack permission to know that she's right.
• 20:30
SPEAKER_03: She receives a call on a satellite phone, and the caller asks to speak to Naomi, and Kate hangs up.
• 20:36
  SPEAKER_03: Like, good cover, Kate.
• 20:37
  SPEAKER_03: Good cover.
• 20:42
  SPEAKER_01: I laughed at that.
• 20:45
SPEAKER_01: Like, like, um, like the doorbell rings, you go to check the people, and you're like, oh shit, I don't want to, but like they saw you come to like like right be like, I'm just gonna stand here.
• 20:55
SPEAKER_01: Maybe they didn't see me.
• 20:57
SPEAKER_03: Like, only one person has this number, Kate.
• 20:59
SPEAKER_03: Who did you think was calling?
• 21:02
SPEAKER_01: Wrong number, your extended car warranty.
• 21:04
SPEAKER_01: I would not be surprised.
• 21:06
  SPEAKER_03: That's true.
• 21:07
SPEAKER_03: It could have been your your extended car warranty.
• 21:12
SPEAKER_03: She notices blood dripping from above, and Naomi jumps onto her from an overhanging tree limb.
• 21:19
SPEAKER_03: She holds a knife to Kate's throat and demands the phone.
• 21:23
SPEAKER_03: Kate tries to convince her that the attack was Locke's doing alone, and the phone rings, and Naomi speaks to George, telling him that she's been injured, but says she sustained her injuries when she parachuted onto the island.
• 21:36
SPEAKER_03: Which technically is true because she did remember she did have the branch and um Kyle saved her.
• 21:43
  SPEAKER_01: You remember these names?
• 21:44
SPEAKER_01: But yes, I do remember that.
• 21:45
SPEAKER_03: Yes, I do remember the names.
• 21:48
SPEAKER_03: She changes the tracking frequency of the phone, apologizes to George, and ends with, Tell my sister I love her.
• 21:56
SPEAKER_03: Naomi dies, watched by a shocked Kate.
• 22:00
SPEAKER_03: As the group from the beach trek through the jungle, Hurley falls behind and Sawyer drops back to offer his help.
• 22:07
SPEAKER_03: He offers to talk about the loss of Charlie, but Hurley is unwilling.
• 22:12
SPEAKER_03: Hurley is like, it'll just move fast if we don't talk.
• 22:15
SPEAKER_03: Like he is legit putting his foot down here, there, and everywhere.
• 22:20
SPEAKER_01: Oh, our boy, our baby's growing up so fast.
• 22:24
  SPEAKER_03: I know.
• 22:27
SPEAKER_03: Hurley loses sight of the others as he gets lost chasing after them.
• 22:31
SPEAKER_03: He comes across a rundown cabin in a clearing.
• 22:34
SPEAKER_03: But we've seen this cabin before.
• 22:36
SPEAKER_01: That I do remember the cabin.
• 22:38
SPEAKER_01: I'm actually surprised at little things that I did remember.
• 22:40
  SPEAKER_03: There you go.
• 22:42
SPEAKER_03: Hurley hears whispers and a light appears in the cabin's window.
• 22:47
SPEAKER_03: Approaching warily, Hurley looks through a broken window and sees a man in a rocking chair.
• 22:53
SPEAKER_03: A figure suddenly moves in front of the window and an eye appears.
• 22:58
SPEAKER_03: Spooked, Hurley trips over himself and runs away from the cabin.
• 23:02
SPEAKER_03: A moment later the cabin is somehow in front of him again, but in a different location.
• 23:08
SPEAKER_03: He closes his eyes and tries to convince himself that the cabin is just a hallucination.
• 23:13
SPEAKER_03: When he opens his eyes, the cabin is gone.
• 23:15
SPEAKER_03: He falls onto his back and Locke appears and greets him.
• 23:21
SPEAKER_03: Later they talk and agree that Jack should not have called the ship.
• 23:25
SPEAKER_03: He says it will be hard to tell everyone that there is no rescue.
• 23:29
SPEAKER_03: Locke says they will just have to, otherwise, Charlie will have died for nothing.
• 23:35
SPEAKER_03: They head off into the jungle to meet with the group at the beach.
• 23:39
SPEAKER_03: Hurley and Locke reach Saeed and the others from the beach group who have arrived at the cockpit.
• 23:46
SPEAKER_03: Said begins to argue with Locke, especially about why he blew up the submarine.
• 23:51
SPEAKER_03: And just as Loc is about to respond, they hear noise.
• 23:54
SPEAKER_03: They hear noise and they're like, they're ready.
• 23:58
SPEAKER_03: But it's like Jack and you know the Radio Tower team.
• 24:04
SPEAKER_03: They're hugging, and you know, like this whole reunion is excited and warm.
• 24:09
SPEAKER_03: And Claire stands alone with Aaron looking for Charlie.
• 24:13
SPEAKER_03: Desmond starts to go towards her, but Hurley stops him and says that he'll tell her.
• 24:18
SPEAKER_03: He approaches Claire with a miserable look on his face and breaks down as he tells her that Charlie is dead.
• 24:23
SPEAKER_03: They try to console each other.
• 24:26
SPEAKER_03: Jack goes up to Locke, knocks him to the ground, accuses him of destroying their one hope of rescue.
• 24:32
SPEAKER_03: He grabs Locke's pistol, and Loc says Jack won't shoot.
• 24:39
SPEAKER_03: Literally, as Jack pulls the trigger.
• 24:42
SPEAKER_03: But the gun is not loaded.
• 24:44
SPEAKER_03: How did you feel about Jack trying to shoot your man point blank?
• 24:49
SPEAKER_01: I took it very personal.
• 24:52
SPEAKER_01: Did the whole like stretch out my fingers, let me get put my hair in the bun.
• 24:56
SPEAKER_03: Did you get your Vaseline?
• 24:57
SPEAKER_01: Get my Vaseline, put the hair in the oh, you don't put your hair in a bun.
• 25:00
SPEAKER_01: You don't put your hair on a ponytail, you put that in a French braid.
• 25:04
SPEAKER_01: That way they had nothing to grab and then tuck that bad boy under, nothing to grab onto.
• 25:08
SPEAKER_01: So the Vaseline, French braid, yeah.
• 25:10
  SPEAKER_01: Or a low bun.
• 25:12
SPEAKER_01: Oh, a low bun, right?
• 25:13
  SPEAKER_01: But um yeah.
• 25:14
  SPEAKER_03: That's quicker than a French braid.
• 25:15
SPEAKER_03: And take off your hoops.
• 25:16
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I know.
• 25:20
SPEAKER_01: I mean, it doesn't have to be a quick doesn't be a neat braid.
• 25:22
SPEAKER_01: Just enough to get in it.
• 25:23
SPEAKER_01: Just enough to get it.
• 25:24
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 25:25
  SPEAKER_01: Let me stop.
• 25:26
SPEAKER_01: But yeah, um, um, can you tell we're from Brooklyn?
• 25:32
  SPEAKER_01: I was offended.
• 25:33
SPEAKER_01: Like, how dare you question my man Locke?
• 25:36
  SPEAKER_01: That's one.
• 25:36
SPEAKER_01: And two, um, no way in hell was they gonna take Locke out like that.
• 25:41
  SPEAKER_01: So I wasn't really like, I wasn't concerned, I wasn't worried.
• 25:43
  SPEAKER_01: I wasn't concerned.
• 25:45
SPEAKER_03: Do you remember that Ben shot him?
• 25:48
SPEAKER_03: He's not going out, like this man But it wouldn't have even been the first time he got shot on this island.
• 25:54
SPEAKER_01: It really wouldn't have been, and that is why that this like being taken out by Jack, like yeah, at least Ben is a worthy foe.
• 26:04
SPEAKER_01: So I mean, and by the way, speaking of which, I am still hyped and geeked over that shout-out from like a hundred years ago.
• 26:13
SPEAKER_03: But that was the best day, though.
• 26:15
  SPEAKER_03: The best day ever.
• 26:17
  SPEAKER_03: Love you, Terry.
• 26:21
  SPEAKER_03: Um, Jack, yeah.
• 26:23
SPEAKER_03: So the gun is not loaded, and then Jack gets pissed off and starts like kicking Locke's ass.
• 26:28
SPEAKER_03: And like, you know, it's bad when fucking Saeed and Sawyer are the voices of reason to stop kicking ass.
• 26:35
  SPEAKER_03: Right.
• 26:36
  SPEAKER_03: Really?
• 26:36
  SPEAKER_03: Right.
• 26:37
SPEAKER_01: First of all, Said and Sawyer green.
• 26:40
  SPEAKER_01: That's one.
• 26:41
  SPEAKER_01: Right.
• 26:42
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 26:43
  SPEAKER_01: That is bizarro world.
• 26:45
  SPEAKER_03: Exactly.
• 26:45
  SPEAKER_03: Bizarro world.
• 26:46
SPEAKER_01: Bizarro times two, because we're already on this fucking island.
• 26:49
SPEAKER_03: So this is like okay, touche.
• 26:56
SPEAKER_03: Locke tells everyone that they need to trust him, that the freighter people are dangerous, and that he intends to go back to the others' barracks since it's the most defensible place on the island.
• 27:06
SPEAKER_03: He asks them to join, saying, if you want to live, you need to come with me.
• 27:11
SPEAKER_03: Shaq counters that Locke is insane, that only crazy people would follow him, and that Locke always attempted to prevent their rescue.
• 27:20
SPEAKER_03: Kate arrives and announces that Naomi is dead and that they're on their way.
• 27:26
SPEAKER_03: Hurley makes an impassioned plea and says he is listening to Charlie.
• 27:30
SPEAKER_03: He says that he trusts Charlie's message, and he joins Locke.
• 27:36
SPEAKER_03: And then that's followed by Claire, Rousseau, and Ben after sarcastically asking Jack's permission.
• 27:44
SPEAKER_03: Carl, Alex, and to Kate's surprise, Sawyer.
• 27:48
SPEAKER_03: Kate asks Sawyer what he's doing, and he says he's doing the same thing he's always done: surviving.
• 27:54
SPEAKER_03: Rose and Bernard still wish to stay on the island, but don't trust Locke enough to join his group.
• 28:00
SPEAKER_03: Literally, as the two groups kind of split, we get a downpour.
• 28:06
SPEAKER_03: And I think that you will remember that the rain is usually like an ominous sign.
• 28:12
SPEAKER_03: Of shit about to go down.
• 28:16
SPEAKER_03: Later, Jack and Kate are looking into the nose of the plane.
• 28:19
SPEAKER_03: Jack says it feels like a hundred years ago that they came out to the cockpit with Charlie, and they reminisce about Charlie and their first trek together, and Jack wonders, How did this happen?
• 28:31
SPEAKER_03: They hear a noise which Kate thinks is thunder, but it's actually a helicopter.
• 28:36
SPEAKER_03: They move into a clearing as a spotlight shines down on them.
• 28:40
SPEAKER_03: They see the helicopter above, and something drops from the helicopter.
• 28:45
SPEAKER_03: They run towards it and see a parachutist.
• 28:48
SPEAKER_03: The parachutist removes his helmet and asks, Are you Jack?
• 28:53
  SPEAKER_03: Mystery Man.
• 28:55
SPEAKER_03: That's where the actual episode ends.
• 28:57
SPEAKER_03: That's where we get the buttons.
• 29:03
  SPEAKER_00: Forward.
• 29:05
SPEAKER_03: So we're gonna go back to Hurley because this is his uh like a Hurley-centric episode.
• 29:11
SPEAKER_03: Even though Jack appears in it, it's it's Hurley.
• 29:15
SPEAKER_03: Hurley's in a police interrogation room where he's shown a video of himself in a convenience store at the cash register.
• 29:22
SPEAKER_03: Then he notices something and he freaks out.
• 29:26
SPEAKER_03: He runs out of the store.
• 29:27
SPEAKER_03: As he races out of the store, Hurley ends up in the police chase in which he crashed the Camaro.
• 29:32
SPEAKER_03: So the cop who's interrogating him reveals that he knew Anna Lucia, and Hurley denies knowing her.
• 29:39
  SPEAKER_03: So that's another point.
• 29:41
SPEAKER_03: The cop's name is Mike, so while Mike is out getting a donut, Hurley sees a vision of Charlie in his hoodie swimming up to the window in the interrogation room, which is underwater, and opening his palm towards the window, which breaks, and the water gushes in.
• 29:56
SPEAKER_03: Could you catch what was written on his hand?
• 30:00
SPEAKER_01: You mean from the last episode?
• 30:01
  SPEAKER_01: From episode this episode.
• 30:03
  SPEAKER_01: No, I couldn't.
• 30:05
SPEAKER_03: I noticed that when I watched this episode twice.
• 30:07
SPEAKER_03: I watched it on my iPad and I watched it on the TV.
• 30:10
SPEAKER_03: When I watched it on the TV, I couldn't catch it.
• 30:12
SPEAKER_03: When I watched it on my iPad, it was clear as day.
• 30:15
SPEAKER_03: It said they need you on his hand.
• 30:19
  SPEAKER_01: Oh.
• 30:20
  SPEAKER_01: Mm-hmm.
• 30:21
  SPEAKER_01: Okay, that's definitely a that's something I did not, I did not.
• 30:24
SPEAKER_01: If I was Hurley, I would not have wanted to have seen.
• 30:26
SPEAKER_03: I'm like, bah and so Hurley starts freaking out again.
• 30:30
SPEAKER_03: He's banging onto like the door, yelling help.
• 30:34
SPEAKER_03: The cop comes back, and the cop is asking him if he's trying to get tossed in the nut house because he can arrange it right now.
• 30:42
SPEAKER_03: And Hurley is like, You can please.
• 30:45
  SPEAKER_01: Thank you.
• 30:47
  SPEAKER_01: Okay, I've been there.
• 30:50
SPEAKER_01: I know that feeling where you're like, Oh God, please, yes, yes, please.
• 30:54
  SPEAKER_01: I don't I'll take a three-day hold.
• 30:56
SPEAKER_01: It's not funny, and I don't really mean to make light of the situation, but I understand, but God, yeah.
• 31:02
  SPEAKER_01: Sometimes you're like, I just can't do this.
• 31:04
  SPEAKER_01: I I can't, I can't, I can't adult, I can't do this anymore because I don't want anyone to be offended.
• 31:09
SPEAKER_01: That but god no, no, I get it, but god damn, sometimes you just need a break from everything.
• 31:15
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, this adult shit is hard, sure.
• 31:20
SPEAKER_03: Um hurley is back at the Santa Rosa Mental Health Institute and apparently happy.
• 31:26
SPEAKER_03: You like there's something I say, like he is just playing his games with his buddy there.
• 31:33
SPEAKER_03: They came around to give him his meds, and he is just happy go lucky.
• 31:37
SPEAKER_03: There are some days where I kind of wish that was my life.
• 31:41
SPEAKER_03: I could just be in my bathroom all day and snack on Xanax.
• 31:47
SPEAKER_03: It doesn't really seem bad.
• 31:50
SPEAKER_03: Some days, some days again, like not to offend people, but like some days that sounds awesome.
• 31:55
SPEAKER_01: I'm not gonna lie, I have days where I do that, not exactly to that extent, only because I don't have an endless supply.
• 32:03
SPEAKER_01: But there are days where I'm like, I stay my I I'm like, I'll just get up, I'll take a shower, I'll brush my teeth, and put on clean pajamas and do nothing.
• 32:15
  SPEAKER_01: I'm like, oh, it's Ataban time.
• 32:17
  SPEAKER_01: Oh, that's nice.
• 32:19
SPEAKER_03: I like I just don't see the fault in it.
• 32:23
SPEAKER_01: And the truth of the matter is that many of us need that mental health time, and we can't take it because which makes us need it even more, but you can't take it because you it's a vicious, vicious circle that you never can have.
• 32:39
SPEAKER_03: Then you get to the point where you're like a three-day cycle is a vacation.
• 32:45
SPEAKER_03: And that's really like the truest.
• 32:47
  SPEAKER_03: Sorry.
• 32:48
SPEAKER_03: I'm like, what the hell?
• 32:49
SPEAKER_03: She's I took off her collar so that she won't be jingling, but now she found a toy and she's ripping it to shreds right next to me.
• 32:57
SPEAKER_01: I support that message because you know what?
• 32:59
SPEAKER_01: If I had a toy that I could rip the shreds, I'd probably do it myself.
• 33:03
SPEAKER_03: So if it comes flying at me or the computer, you can see and laugh.
• 33:08
  SPEAKER_03: Thanks for the permission.
• 33:09
SPEAKER_03: But yeah, but like that's just like the saddest state of affairs is that we can't get the help that we need for ourselves sometimes until it becomes that dire that we look for the mental health institute.
• 33:27
  SPEAKER_03: I mean, whatever.
• 33:28
SPEAKER_03: I'll get down off of my soapbox now, but nope.
• 33:31
SPEAKER_03: I I feel you how to people.
• 33:36
  SPEAKER_03: So he's playing Connect 4.
• 33:38
SPEAKER_03: The orderly tells him that he has a visitor.
• 33:41
SPEAKER_03: The man introduces himself as Matthew Abaddon.
• 33:45
SPEAKER_03: Are you trying to get my attention?
• 33:47
SPEAKER_01: No, fly or max or something.
• 33:52
SPEAKER_01: Okay, you're raising your hand.
• 33:53
SPEAKER_01: I'm always afraid that I would do like I'd never want to go to an auction because I'd be like, they're like, okay, that's sold to you for one million dollars.
• 34:00
SPEAKER_01: Like, I'm like, ah, yeah, no, I don't have it.
• 34:02
  SPEAKER_01: Sorry.
• 34:02
SPEAKER_03: Oh, I see the baby.
• 34:04
  SPEAKER_03: Is that gizmo?
• 34:05
  SPEAKER_03: This is gizmo.
• 34:06
SPEAKER_03: I only see ears, so I couldn't tell which one it was.
• 34:10
  SPEAKER_01: Couch is his spot.
• 34:11
  SPEAKER_01: Gotcha.
• 34:13
  SPEAKER_03: I don't know.
• 34:14
SPEAKER_03: She's trying to get my attention.
• 34:15
  SPEAKER_03: I don't know what she wants.
• 34:17
SPEAKER_03: I already let her out when I got my pizza.
• 34:20
SPEAKER_03: Yo, she's been quiet and sleeping all day.
• 34:24
  SPEAKER_03: And of course, now.
• 34:27
SPEAKER_01: And I feel like the louder she is, this is when Gizma popped them.
• 34:30
SPEAKER_01: Gizma was nowhere to be found.
• 34:33
SPEAKER_01: I feel like I I could hear her, like she's right next to me.
• 34:36
  SPEAKER_01: It's kind of cool.
• 34:38
  SPEAKER_01: Is she dancing?
• 34:39
  SPEAKER_00: It's not like she's dancing.
• 34:41
SPEAKER_01: That's why I didn't have grandpuppies last time we recorded, did we?
• 34:44
SPEAKER_03: No, you have grandpuppies now, and you have another grandchild.
• 34:48
  SPEAKER_01: I got two grandboys.
• 34:50
SPEAKER_01: I love my babies and two grandpuppies.
• 34:53
SPEAKER_01: They're not puppies anymore, but they're still my puppies.
• 34:56
SPEAKER_01: And I'm ready for the nursing home.
• 35:00
  SPEAKER_01: Sign me up.
• 35:01
SPEAKER_01: But that's like the nursing home is the next best thing to, you know, committing yourself.
• 35:07
SPEAKER_01: Because someone comes around, gives you your meds.
• 35:10
SPEAKER_01: There's people your age, you have your own apartment.
• 35:13
SPEAKER_01: You can lock your door, don't really be but I can play eight.
• 35:18
SPEAKER_01: I can play cards when I want.
• 35:21
SPEAKER_01: I mean, it's actually the next best thing.
• 35:24
  SPEAKER_01: And I think I'm I think I'm down for it.
• 35:26
SPEAKER_01: And there's probably some eligible men there.
• 35:29
SPEAKER_01: See, yeah, I want a senior living.
• 35:30
SPEAKER_01: Uh give me into senior living.
• 35:32
SPEAKER_01: Not this senior living, but I want senior living.
• 35:34
SPEAKER_03: There's literally one on my block.
• 35:38
SPEAKER_03: On my street, two blocks down.
• 35:40
SPEAKER_01: Has anyone told you that you're not subtle at all?
• 35:42
  SPEAKER_03: I didn't, I didn't uh say I was.
• 35:44
SPEAKER_01: Okay, okay, just like people tell me that's not nice, Agnes.
• 35:49
  SPEAKER_01: I said, hello.
• 35:50
SPEAKER_01: Did I ever say hi?
• 35:51
SPEAKER_01: My name is Agnes and I'm a nice person.
• 35:52
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, no, I never said that.
• 35:54
SPEAKER_03: You mistook me as being a nice there's one literally on my street, just way down that way.
• 36:00
  SPEAKER_03: Just like that way.
• 36:00
SPEAKER_03: Is it a nice like a high-end senior living?
• 36:03
  SPEAKER_03: Um, I don't know.
• 36:03
  SPEAKER_01: I'm a shishi poo poo.
• 36:04
  SPEAKER_01: I'm looking inside.
• 36:06
SPEAKER_01: Like, I just outside look kind of cool like condos.
• 36:11
SPEAKER_01: I like the ones that look like condos, like, oh, is that a condo?
• 36:14
  SPEAKER_01: No, that's a senior living.
• 36:15
SPEAKER_03: I don't know if it looks like con oh, there is one that looks like that.
• 36:18
SPEAKER_03: It's actually it's actually closer to the other apartments that I told you about.
• 36:24
SPEAKER_03: Okay, it's it's like over there, those look real fancy.
• 36:28
  SPEAKER_03: Okay, I'm okay.
• 36:29
SPEAKER_03: This is a case you look into it.
• 36:30
SPEAKER_03: I'll I'll I'll drive you past it when you when you kidnap me.
• 36:33
  SPEAKER_03: Yes, yes.
• 36:34
SPEAKER_03: When I kidnap you and you get yourself to the airport willingly, and I kidnap you, yes.
• 36:40
SPEAKER_01: And walk yourself onto the plane, yes, and then willingly walk off the plane and go to your car, yes.
• 36:49
SPEAKER_03: But you know, kidnapping, it sounds more fun.
• 36:52
  SPEAKER_01: It it actually does.
• 36:55
SPEAKER_01: I um yeah, it was funny story because I was joking about like if I ever get kidnapped, I'm like, is someone gonna save me?
• 37:02
SPEAKER_01: Kind of feel like there's like gonna like I need someone to like come save me.
• 37:05
SPEAKER_01: Like I would do my part and being aware of my surroundings, I'll do my part to try to get out information, but a bitch is gonna be saving.
• 37:15
  SPEAKER_01: Like, I I can't do everything alone.
• 37:18
SPEAKER_03: It's so funny that you say that I'll do my part because this is so fucking random, but um there was an episode, and I don't I don't remember if it was different strokes or if it was the Jeffersons.
• 37:40
SPEAKER_01: Okay, I don't remember, but I think it was if it's the one I think you're talking about, is that they might be different strokes.
• 37:48
SPEAKER_01: I feel like I know what you're going, but go ahead.
• 37:51
SPEAKER_03: But there was an episode where I think it was different strokes, where somebody was like kidnapped or whatever, and they were allowed to call and they were and and they were like, oh, but I heard um that something, something, and they they sent like this really crazy dollar amount of money, but it was the phone number, right?
• 38:12
SPEAKER_03: Yes, you know what I'm talking about, and it was different strokes, right?
• 38:15
SPEAKER_01: And it was a photographer, and he kidnapped him and his friends.
• 38:19
SPEAKER_03: Yes, he was a pedophile, yes, that was like the very special episode.
• 38:23
SPEAKER_03: That shit freaked me out.
• 38:24
  SPEAKER_01: Freaked me out, okay.
• 38:26
SPEAKER_01: I even to this day, I try not to think about that episode, and I'm older.
• 38:30
SPEAKER_03: Um, yeah, so yeah, but but this is what we learned as kids, and I think that the message stuck because how many years, how many decades later?
• 38:40
SPEAKER_03: And I'm just like, oh no, if I'm ever kidnapped, I gotta give the phone number.
• 38:44
SPEAKER_03: I gotta, I gotta work in the license plate.
• 38:46
SPEAKER_01: Like, I gotta do something.
• 38:48
SPEAKER_01: I but by the end of that conversation, um, I was saying, yeah, I could be like, oh, so like to my kidnapper.
• 38:56
SPEAKER_01: Oh, what's your name again?
• 38:57
  SPEAKER_01: Bet.
• 38:58
SPEAKER_01: So this is his name.
• 38:59
  SPEAKER_01: Where are we going?
• 38:59
SPEAKER_01: Oh, this is where we're going.
• 39:01
SPEAKER_01: So, and then like the kidnapper would it literally be like, All right, bitch, I I can't with you.
• 39:05
SPEAKER_03: Like we'd rather die until you kidnap us, and then we got a lot of questions about there were a lot of questions, like, can we eat first?
• 39:12
SPEAKER_01: Do I have to die?
• 39:13
  SPEAKER_01: Like those basic questions.
• 39:15
SPEAKER_01: And because oh, I know how it started.
• 39:18
SPEAKER_01: I know how it started because we're talking about this book I'm reading.
• 39:21
SPEAKER_01: Anyway, anyway, I said, Yeah, I said the only way to kidnap me if it's like says like free tacos, and then I will willingly just here, take me, wear my tacos.
• 39:30
SPEAKER_01: God forbid they don't have tacos, I'm killing a motherfucker.
• 39:34
SPEAKER_01: Um, so just so if you're gonna kidnap me, make sure you have my tacos.
• 39:38
SPEAKER_03: And if they say tacos and margarita, I'm calling on my friends too.
• 39:41
SPEAKER_01: So, like why do you give all of us?
• 39:43
  SPEAKER_01: It's really bad.
• 39:44
SPEAKER_01: I think and then, like, hey, you want more people?
• 39:48
  SPEAKER_01: Ransom.
• 39:48
  SPEAKER_01: The fuck, we're poor.
• 39:49
  SPEAKER_01: Like we're poor.
• 39:50
SPEAKER_01: If you're feeding us tacos and margarita, we're good.
• 39:52
  SPEAKER_01: We're good.
• 39:53
  SPEAKER_01: We're good.
• 39:53
  SPEAKER_01: We don't to nobody, we're good.
• 39:55
  SPEAKER_03: I'm not sure tomorrow.
• 39:57
  SPEAKER_03: Okay.
• 39:57
SPEAKER_03: And you can do tacos, yeah.
• 39:59
  SPEAKER_03: No problem.
• 39:59
SPEAKER_01: And tomorrow I can give you recipes.
• 40:01
  SPEAKER_01: We're gonna be a recipe smoker.
• 40:06
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, our kidnapping.
• 40:08
SPEAKER_03: I know a nice recipe for a margarita cupcake.
• 40:11
SPEAKER_01: Uh hello, there we go.
• 40:12
SPEAKER_01: Anyway, don't have margarita mix.
• 40:15
  SPEAKER_01: I got a substitution.
• 40:17
SPEAKER_03: Oh, that was the best.
• 40:18
SPEAKER_01: That was a funny story.
• 40:20
SPEAKER_01: Gotta keep listening to us if you want to hear the margarita substitution story.
• 40:25
  SPEAKER_03: Oh, I like that.
• 40:26
SPEAKER_03: I like the fact that you're the one giving that teaser and not even me having to like kidnap you virtually.
• 40:34
SPEAKER_01: Yes, you you really did.
• 40:36
SPEAKER_01: You really, you are a virtual kidnapper, and I like it.
• 40:42
SPEAKER_01: All right, so I just oh my god, we're gonna we're gonna be cancelled.
• 40:46
SPEAKER_01: Like, people are gonna be like, these bitches are so NPC.
• 40:50
  SPEAKER_01: I mean X.
• 40:53
SPEAKER_03: So, like, we have to be a little bit, but like we're really good people.
• 40:59
SPEAKER_01: It's how we cope, it's legitimately how we cope.
• 41:02
SPEAKER_03: I know we're not insulting other people.
• 41:05
SPEAKER_01: I'm kind of insulting myself because everything I've touched upon was really geared towards me personally, so self-deprecating.
• 41:13
  SPEAKER_01: I that's another very self-deprecating.
• 41:15
SPEAKER_01: That's something that they don't they don't talk about, it's and it's like but it's funny, yeah.
• 41:23
SPEAKER_01: I mean my trauma is funny, right?
• 41:26
SPEAKER_01: If you can't find humor in your own trauma, like then you don't deserve to be funny, so no, they you don't deserve to be funny, which means you're just not funny, no uh right, right.
• 41:40
SPEAKER_03: Like you don't need to laugh at somebody else, like you have we have all the material that we will ever need within ourselves, right?
• 41:47
SPEAKER_01: Like, seriously, like George Carlin is rolling over his grade right now at the state of comedy these days.
• 41:54
SPEAKER_03: I bet you he is.
• 41:59
SPEAKER_01: Okay, I forgot what we were talking about.
• 42:01
  SPEAKER_01: We're talking about lost.
• 42:02
  SPEAKER_03: That's okay.
• 42:03
  SPEAKER_03: I remember.
• 42:03
  SPEAKER_01: Okay, good.
• 42:05
SPEAKER_03: The man, even though I said this, but I'll say it again.
• 42:10
  SPEAKER_03: After I burp.
• 42:11
  SPEAKER_03: Excuse me.
• 42:15
  SPEAKER_03: Okay.
• 42:16
SPEAKER_03: The man introduces himself as Matthew Abaddon and claims that he is an attorney for Oceanic Airlines.
• 42:24
SPEAKER_03: He tells Hurley that he slash oceanic wants to upgrade him to a nicer institute.
• 42:31
SPEAKER_03: He's like, We'll get you an ocean view.
• 42:33
  SPEAKER_03: Hurley's like, nah, I'm good.
• 42:34
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah, nah.
• 42:37
SPEAKER_03: Hurley says, he's fine, but Abaddon says, Are you fine, Mr.
• 42:41
  SPEAKER_03: Reyes?
• 42:42
SPEAKER_03: You are in a mental institution.
• 42:45
SPEAKER_03: Hurley asks for a business card.
• 42:46
SPEAKER_03: He because he's starting to get like a little like, wait, what?
• 42:51
SPEAKER_03: Um, and Abaddon can't produce one.
• 42:53
SPEAKER_03: Hurley is like, yeah, I good, I'm good.
• 42:56
  SPEAKER_03: Uh, I think we're done here.
• 42:58
SPEAKER_03: And then Abaddon turns much more serious and says, Are they still alive?
• 43:04
SPEAKER_03: Hurley is startled by this, and he starts making a scene, claiming that the man is after him, and Abaddon quietly leaves.
• 43:13
SPEAKER_03: Are you actually raising your hand now?
• 43:14
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I want to make an amendment to my theory, but it's probably also wrong.
• 43:18
SPEAKER_01: Instead of having like two groups that came, like one group left and then the other group left.
• 43:24
  SPEAKER_01: One group left.
• 43:27
  SPEAKER_01: Okay, one group left.
• 43:30
SPEAKER_01: Never mind, because I remember the other flash forward.
• 43:34
SPEAKER_01: Oh, one group left, then it came back, and the group came back.
• 43:38
SPEAKER_01: I don't know, they're taking turns, but never mind.
• 43:40
SPEAKER_03: I ain't gonna tell you that, like, as much as I love this show and and recording with you, that your theories are the best thing ever.
• 43:52
SPEAKER_03: Like, I just I can't wait to hear the next one.
• 43:55
SPEAKER_01: Have they ever been right?
• 43:56
SPEAKER_03: No, yes, there there have been a few things that you've been right on.
• 44:00
SPEAKER_03: No, there have there have been.
• 44:01
SPEAKER_03: I mean, I I don't remember what they are now, but but I remember thinking, oh shit, like did she and I think I even asked you once, like, did you watch a head or something?
• 44:13
SPEAKER_03: And you were like, No, why?
• 44:14
SPEAKER_03: But how to play it off?
• 44:15
SPEAKER_03: Like, I wasn't asking you because you were right, but like, oh, you've been right.
• 44:19
SPEAKER_01: Now I need to know what I've been right about.
• 44:21
SPEAKER_03: We don't actually have to listen to this podcast.
• 44:26
  SPEAKER_03: You guys can't see.
• 44:27
SPEAKER_03: She just put the spoonful of frosting in her mouth and gave me like a kind of dirty look.
• 44:32
SPEAKER_03: In another setting, it might actually have been sexy, but this one I sleep.
• 44:40
SPEAKER_03: She was like, fuck you.
• 44:42
SPEAKER_03: And the horse, and the horse you rode in on.
• 44:46
  SPEAKER_01: Oh.
• 44:49
SPEAKER_01: Almost choked in my icing.
• 44:53
  SPEAKER_03: Okay.
• 44:56
SPEAKER_03: Next, Hurley is sitting in the grounds of the hospital when Lewis, I don't even know this guy had a name, comes over and says that a man is staring at him.
• 45:06
SPEAKER_03: He looks over and he sees Charlie.
• 45:08
SPEAKER_03: Hurley is shocked and refuses to have an imaginary conversation with the dead man.
• 45:14
SPEAKER_03: Charlie slaps him to prove that he's there because he's like, I am dead, but I'm here.
• 45:22
SPEAKER_03: And this is, do you remember the episode Dave, where um it was the guy from Sex in the City.
• 45:28
SPEAKER_03: I can't think of his name, but um, and to prove that he was real, he also slapped uh Hurley.
• 45:34
  SPEAKER_03: Yes.
• 45:35
SPEAKER_03: So this is Hurley's thing, having people slap him, apparently.
• 45:39
SPEAKER_01: People that don't exist slap him.
• 45:44
SPEAKER_03: Um Hurley asks whether Charlie knew that he was gonna die and why didn't he tell him?
• 45:51
SPEAKER_03: Charlie says he knew, but that he didn't tell him because he would have tried to stop him.
• 45:57
SPEAKER_03: He didn't want to create drama.
• 45:59
SPEAKER_03: He says Hurley has to do something that he's been hiding from, the same reason that he ran out of the convenience store.
• 46:08
SPEAKER_03: Hurley says that he doesn't want to hear anymore and closes his eyes and counts to five.
• 46:13
SPEAKER_03: Charlie tells him, Don't do this, and then they need you.
• 46:17
  SPEAKER_03: They need you, Hugo.
• 46:19
SPEAKER_03: When Hurley opens his eyes, Charlie is gone.
• 46:23
SPEAKER_03: Jack visits Hurley in the asylum and plays a game of horse basketball, for those of you who don't know.
• 46:31
SPEAKER_03: The two discuss their current day frame, and Jack mentions he's thinking of growing a beard.
• 46:37
SPEAKER_03: It's such a throwaway line, but it's to help put the time frame.
• 46:43
  SPEAKER_03: The time frame, right?
• 46:45
SPEAKER_01: So this flash forward is prior to the first flash forward we saw, and I got that the first, the season three flash.
• 46:54
SPEAKER_01: Right, that's the first flash forward we saw, right?
• 46:57
  SPEAKER_03: Right, right.
• 46:57
SPEAKER_01: So this is prior to that flash forward.
• 46:59
SPEAKER_01: So I got that gist.
• 47:00
SPEAKER_01: I'm like, okay, this is all I'm getting this.
• 47:03
  SPEAKER_01: This makes sense.
• 47:04
SPEAKER_01: Because you could tell that he like even when he when it's first started, Jack had his shit together.
• 47:10
  SPEAKER_03: He's exactly so.
• 47:11
SPEAKER_01: I'm like, okay, this is pre losing my mind alcoholic pop pill popping Jack.
• 47:17
  SPEAKER_01: Okay, got it.
• 47:18
SPEAKER_03: Hurley is glad to see him, but wonders why he came.
• 47:24
SPEAKER_03: Jack, Jack tells him, like, oh, he's you know, on his way from a consult or whatever.
• 47:30
SPEAKER_03: But then after he loses a few shots to Hurley, he asks if he's gonna tell.
• 47:36
  SPEAKER_03: Hurley doesn't respond.
• 47:38
  SPEAKER_03: Jack decides to leave.
• 47:40
  SPEAKER_03: Is that right, actually?
• 47:42
  SPEAKER_03: No, no, I don't think that's right.
• 47:45
  SPEAKER_03: That's about right.
• 47:46
SPEAKER_03: Like, after losing a few shots to Hurley, Hurley asks why he's really there and if he's worried that if Jack is worried that Hurley is gonna tell.
• 47:56
SPEAKER_03: He also apologizes to Jack for going with Locke and says that he should have gone with Jack.
• 48:03
SPEAKER_03: Jack is like, meh, water under the bridge.
• 48:07
SPEAKER_03: Hurley wonders if they should go back to the island, and Jack is like, I'm never going back.
• 48:15
SPEAKER_03: Until and then Hurley is like, yeah, never say never, dude.
• 48:20
SPEAKER_03: So now we have like all the pieces of the episode.
• 48:25
SPEAKER_03: So what do you want to do?
• 48:27
SPEAKER_03: Do you want to do like trivia first, or do you want to do like episode kind of notes?
• 48:36
SPEAKER_03: Alright, let's do trivia real quick.
• 48:37
  SPEAKER_03: Sounds like a feel like a one-and-done.
• 48:40
SPEAKER_03: Okay, the previous two season premieres begin in an unfamiliar location, and we were meant to mislead the viewer, and sorry, and were meant to mislead the viewer into thinking that the scene did not play take place on the island.
• 48:57
SPEAKER_03: This episode's cold open has the same twist, but in reverse.
• 49:01
SPEAKER_03: Because you think it's on the island, but it's not.
• 49:04
SPEAKER_03: Because um, do you remember the last two season premieres?
• 49:07
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah, no.
• 49:09
SPEAKER_03: Season two opens on Desmond in the Hatch, and so you see him going about his routine, like making his breakfast and his exercise.
• 49:19
SPEAKER_03: Oh, right, right, right, right, right.
• 49:21
SPEAKER_03: And the season three premiere is the others in the barracks, and they're doing like the book club.
• 49:27
SPEAKER_01: Right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right.
• 49:29
  SPEAKER_01: Okay, okay, okay, okay.
• 49:30
  SPEAKER_01: Wow, okay, cool.
• 49:31
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, okay, so the letters H and O show up several times in this episode.
• 49:41
SPEAKER_03: Okay, H, there's an H and an O, is the only letters that they got into in horse.
• 49:47
SPEAKER_03: There's uh Hurley was he saw Charlie standing by the ho-hos, or he was gonna buy ho-hos or something like that.
• 49:55
SPEAKER_03: And in the mental institution, you can see an H and the O sculpture in the in the scene.
• 50:04
SPEAKER_03: H is the eighth letter of the alphabet, O is the 15th letter of the alphabet, 815, oceanic 815.
• 50:14
SPEAKER_01: Um I wonder, do they have a did they have a separate team of writers or I people pop that was just that didn't deal with the writing of the episode, but just dealt with shit like that.
• 50:31
SPEAKER_01: I feel like that takes a lot of and like no joke, like all seriousness.
• 50:35
SPEAKER_01: I feel like things of that nature takes a lot of thinking and brain and planning.
• 50:39
SPEAKER_01: Like they need a whole separate team, just do that.
• 50:42
SPEAKER_01: I I would believe that because there's so much that goes into every single episode that I would believe it if that was its own full-time job, or it was just completely random, and they're like, oh shit, let's make this a thing.
• 50:59
  SPEAKER_01: Who knows?
• 51:00
SPEAKER_03: Um, did you notice that when the car chase was going on, there was they cut real quick to somebody with a video camera?
• 51:10
SPEAKER_01: No, I was kind of multitasking at the time, and I should have, and I kind of forgot that I need to be like six eyes on this show.
• 51:18
  SPEAKER_01: I know when I'm watching it.
• 51:19
SPEAKER_01: I completely forgot, but yeah.
• 51:21
SPEAKER_03: So that was Randy Nations.
• 51:24
SPEAKER_03: Randy Nations, if I remember correctly, is the asshole at John Locke's company.
• 51:37
SPEAKER_01: Oh, you remember who I'm talking about?
• 51:40
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, him.
• 51:41
SPEAKER_01: I remember him, but no, when you said Randy Nations, I was like a horny country.
• 51:50
SPEAKER_01: I was like, wait, is it coordinated?
• 51:52
SPEAKER_01: Like, what the fuck is this?
• 51:54
  SPEAKER_03: Okay, okay, so here's here's one.
• 51:59
SPEAKER_03: Oh no, no, no, not yet.
• 52:00
  SPEAKER_03: Sorry.
• 52:01
  SPEAKER_03: I lied, I lied.
• 52:02
SPEAKER_03: Kate joining up with the rest of the group at the cockpit marks the first time that all of the living free survivors of Flight 815 have been in the same location at the same time since Live Together, Die Alone, part one.
• 52:18
SPEAKER_03: So that's something like they haven't all been together.
• 52:22
SPEAKER_01: I feel like holy shit, you're right.
• 52:25
SPEAKER_01: But the way everything is kind of moves, you don't think about it.
• 52:29
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 52:30
SPEAKER_03: When Hurley is talking to Abaddon, the chalkboard behind them shows a drawing of a freighter, an island, and a shark.
• 52:40
SPEAKER_03: And another finger painting has the word victory painted in red.
• 52:46
SPEAKER_03: So this one is a little, little, little bit of a spoiler, but I know that you like spoilers, so I'll give it to you.
• 52:52
  SPEAKER_03: Do I?
• 52:54
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah, you do.
• 52:55
  SPEAKER_03: Okay.
• 52:56
  SPEAKER_03: Okay.
• 52:56
  SPEAKER_03: To tease.
• 52:58
SPEAKER_03: When the camp splits, this is the last time Desmond, Rose, Bernard, and many other A15 survivors ever see Locke again.
• 53:12
  SPEAKER_03: Ah.
• 53:12
SPEAKER_03: So you do with that what you will.
• 53:15
SPEAKER_01: Okay, I've decided it's just because Locke stayed on the island and they died.
• 53:21
  SPEAKER_01: Also, no, Locke.
• 53:23
  SPEAKER_01: No.
• 53:25
SPEAKER_01: This might choose to believe.
• 53:27
SPEAKER_01: Leave my and but then and then you say it's just those people.
• 53:30
SPEAKER_01: Because if he actually died, no, that I mean he dies later then.
• 53:35
SPEAKER_01: That doesn't mean he's gonna die now.
• 53:36
SPEAKER_01: But then anyway, I'm I'm gonna go think about that.
• 53:39
SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna think happy thoughts.
• 53:41
SPEAKER_03: Similarly, this is the last time chronologically that Ben and Juliet share a scene together.
• 53:50
  SPEAKER_01: Makes sense.
• 53:51
SPEAKER_01: Since in theory, she's leaving, he's staying, so that makes sense as of now.
• 53:57
SPEAKER_03: Okay, so let's let's get into like the meat and potatoes of the episode.
• 54:02
SPEAKER_03: The meat and the potatoes.
• 54:03
SPEAKER_03: The meat and the potatoes.
• 54:06
SPEAKER_03: This episode introduced Oceanic Six.
• 54:10
  SPEAKER_01: Right.
• 54:11
SPEAKER_01: Obviously, I didn't catch it until you said it.
• 54:14
SPEAKER_01: So I'm like, oh wait, that one was six of them.
• 54:17
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, so that's that's definitely gonna be a theme for this season.
• 54:20
SPEAKER_03: Obviously, Hurley is one of them.
• 54:23
SPEAKER_03: If you had to How many people chose to stay with La Uh Sawyer, Rose Sawyer, no, not Rose and Bernard.
• 54:34
SPEAKER_03: Sawyer, Hurley, Claire, Ben, Rousseau, and Alex.
• 54:43
  SPEAKER_03: And Alex.
• 54:44
  SPEAKER_03: I think that's it.
• 54:48
SPEAKER_01: But Rousseau says she doesn't she didn't want to leave anyway.
• 54:51
SPEAKER_01: So she she wasn't ever gonna be brought back anyway.
• 54:54
SPEAKER_01: But Alex doesn't even um nothing.
• 54:57
SPEAKER_01: I'm just trying to figure out something.
• 54:58
SPEAKER_01: I'm trying to work out work out my plan.
• 55:02
  SPEAKER_01: And why six?
• 55:05
SPEAKER_03: Alright, well, if you had to guess the other five, who would you guess?
• 55:12
SPEAKER_03: Now we we don't know as of yet.
• 55:15
SPEAKER_03: We don't know for sure.
• 55:16
SPEAKER_03: We've seen that Jack is off the island and we've seen Kate is off the island.
• 55:20
SPEAKER_03: And I don't know if you remember, but Kate says I have to go, he's gonna know I'm gone.
• 55:24
  SPEAKER_01: Yes.
• 55:25
SPEAKER_03: So I assumed it was Sawyer.
• 55:27
SPEAKER_01: I assumed it was Sawyer.
• 55:29
SPEAKER_01: But at that point, I don't ever assume anything.
• 55:32
SPEAKER_03: So who would you guess the other five are?
• 55:38
SPEAKER_01: Well, my initial thing is that there's two different groups or something weird.
• 55:41
SPEAKER_03: Like that's just let's just talk about the oceanic six.
• 55:45
SPEAKER_01: The other what other what three?
• 55:48
SPEAKER_01: Meaning that if there's six people so well, the other who the other three people are?
• 55:54
SPEAKER_01: Because we are we counting.
• 55:56
SPEAKER_03: So you're assuming that Kate and Jack are in that group.
• 55:59
  SPEAKER_03: Okay.
• 55:59
  SPEAKER_01: Now, now I don't know.
• 56:01
SPEAKER_03: Well, I'm just making sure we're on the same page.
• 56:03
  SPEAKER_01: I don't know what page.
• 56:04
SPEAKER_01: Well, what are you asking me?
• 56:06
SPEAKER_03: If there's six people, who are the six people?
• 56:09
SPEAKER_03: If six refers to people, who are the six people?
• 56:12
  SPEAKER_03: Hurley.
• 56:14
SPEAKER_03: So then you said Jack and Kate.
• 56:16
SPEAKER_01: And let's do Jen and Son.
• 56:23
  SPEAKER_01: Son and Jen.
• 56:25
SPEAKER_01: And who else was there?
• 56:27
SPEAKER_01: Um I think Sawyer ended up going.
• 56:32
  unknown: Okay.
• 56:32
  SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
• 56:33
  SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
• 56:34
SPEAKER_01: This is moot because I don't think I've reworked my my oceanic 815 idea yet.
• 56:42
  SPEAKER_01: Okay.
• 56:44
SPEAKER_01: But yeah, I guess those will be the first time.
• 56:46
SPEAKER_01: Who else is there on there?
• 56:48
SPEAKER_01: Um well in the show.
• 56:50
  SPEAKER_01: Who else was there?
• 56:51
SPEAKER_01: And we have the Desmond.
• 56:53
  SPEAKER_01: There's Desmond.
• 56:54
  SPEAKER_03: There's Desmond.
• 56:55
SPEAKER_03: There, but remember, Desmond is also didn't get to the island because he was on Oceanic.
• 57:02
SPEAKER_03: And he was right there.
• 57:04
  SPEAKER_01: That's right, that's right, that's right.
• 57:06
  SPEAKER_03: Um, this Claire.
• 57:08
SPEAKER_03: Oh, Claire, I forgot about Claire.
• 57:10
  SPEAKER_03: Said there's a okay.
• 57:13
SPEAKER_03: I mean, there's there's a bunch of like uh other but those are major.
• 57:17
SPEAKER_01: I'll talk about like the major ones.
• 57:19
  SPEAKER_01: Oh, I don't know.
• 57:20
SPEAKER_01: And can we talk about Said again?
• 57:24
SPEAKER_01: I forgot until I'm like, oh I forgot he looked like my baby daddy.
• 57:31
  unknown: Yeah.
• 57:32
SPEAKER_01: So he came on the screen.
• 57:34
  SPEAKER_01: I'm like, oh yeah, I forgot.
• 57:35
  SPEAKER_01: I'm like, oh fine.
• 57:37
  SPEAKER_03: I know, but he's so cute.
• 57:39
SPEAKER_03: So, like, you do have good taste in men, I guess.
• 57:41
SPEAKER_01: I have good taste in the way they look.
• 57:45
  SPEAKER_01: Point taken.
• 57:48
SPEAKER_01: Oh, this is gonna, I have a feeling that comment is gonna come back and bite me my ass.
• 57:54
  SPEAKER_03: Maybe.
• 57:55
SPEAKER_01: But we'll worry about that tomorrow.
• 57:56
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, just the scarlet O'Hara.
• 57:58
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, so here's another little interesting note about this episode.
• 58:04
SPEAKER_03: This episode has 17 credited main cast members.
• 58:10
  SPEAKER_03: Main cast members.
• 58:12
  SPEAKER_03: That sounds about right.
• 58:13
SPEAKER_03: This is the most of any episode so far.
• 58:19
SPEAKER_01: Also, sounds about right because you had a lot to go.
• 58:22
SPEAKER_01: I think the other episodes they can they can divide, it was easy to divide the cast per episode based on what the storyline.
• 58:31
SPEAKER_01: This is oh my god, we're gonna be saved storyline.
• 58:34
SPEAKER_01: So yeah, they kind of all had to be on the episode.
• 58:39
SPEAKER_01: It'd be weird not to.
• 58:42
SPEAKER_03: This is the first season premiere to not be jackcentric.
• 58:47
  SPEAKER_01: Thank God for that.
• 58:49
SPEAKER_03: This is also the first season premiere to not begin with a close-up shot of someone's eye.
• 58:56
  SPEAKER_00: Never noticed that.
• 58:58
  SPEAKER_03: The gathering.
• 59:01
  SPEAKER_03: Oh no.
• 59:02
SPEAKER_03: Oh no, I don't want to read that.
• 59:03
SPEAKER_03: Hurley's underwater vision was filmed in an aquarium, the same set used for the looking glasses moon pool.
• 59:10
SPEAKER_03: And Charlie was later added in.
• 59:13
SPEAKER_03: The painting that Hurley made of an Eskimo and an igloo.
• 59:17
  SPEAKER_03: Did you notice that?
• 59:18
SPEAKER_03: Like right before Charlie, right before he talks to Charlie outside.
• 59:22
  SPEAKER_03: No, I didn't notice.
• 59:24
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 59:24
SPEAKER_03: Uh Jorge Garcia actually painted that.
• 59:27
  SPEAKER_01: Cool.
• 59:28
SPEAKER_03: Which which is a little bit like foreshadowing, but you don't know why.
• 59:34
  SPEAKER_03: So okay.
• 59:36
SPEAKER_03: I feel like an Eskimo.
• 59:41
SPEAKER_01: So let me guess, okay.
• 59:42
SPEAKER_01: When they go back to the island, it's not gonna be tropical, it'll be somewhere in the Arctic.
• 59:48
  SPEAKER_01: The island moved.
• 59:50
SPEAKER_03: I just actually remembered what you said the last time that made me think, what the fuck?
• 59:55
SPEAKER_03: How did she know that?
• 59:57
SPEAKER_03: I can't tell you because I remember I remember now what you said, and I can't tell you.
• 1:00:05
  SPEAKER_01: I mean, I can't be okay.
• 1:00:08
SPEAKER_03: Do you know how frustrated it is to be a fucking genius and still not know that you wore a I mean I have to look on my computer, but I used to have a Word doc so that every time that you said like predictions and shit, I would write them down because some of them were just so fucking ridiculous, but some of them were like, Oh, she's she's like really close.
• 1:00:28
SPEAKER_03: Okay, yeah, I'm gonna have to look for this thing.
• 1:00:31
SPEAKER_01: Can we share the really ridiculous ones?
• 1:00:33
  SPEAKER_01: I think that'd be fun.
• 1:00:35
SPEAKER_01: I have to find it, yeah.
• 1:00:36
SPEAKER_01: Okay, so at the end of lost season, and season six, season finale.
• 1:00:46
SPEAKER_01: We need to go through all my weird predictions.
• 1:00:50
SPEAKER_03: And that would be hilarious.
• 1:00:52
SPEAKER_03: I definitely have to find that that thing, that paper.
• 1:00:57
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 1:00:58
SPEAKER_01: So wait, make a note of this one.
• 1:00:59
SPEAKER_01: Please make a note on a piece of paper.
• 1:01:01
SPEAKER_03: I usually do it when I'm editing because that's when I'm like just listening, and then I'm like, okay, you know, yeah.
• 1:01:07
SPEAKER_03: And okay, so this episode is actually the highest rated episode of Lost Season 4 with a total of 16.14 million viewers.
• 1:01:17
  SPEAKER_03: That makes sense.
• 1:01:19
SPEAKER_03: No other episode has rated higher than this.
• 1:01:21
SPEAKER_01: Well, you pointed out in private conversations.
• 1:01:26
SPEAKER_01: This was after the writer's strike.
• 1:01:28
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and it was a big break.
• 1:01:30
  SPEAKER_01: It was like right.
• 1:01:32
SPEAKER_01: So people like, oh my god, it's back on.
• 1:01:33
SPEAKER_01: So I'm sure like everybody, their mama was watching this.
• 1:01:36
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 1:01:38
  SPEAKER_03: Um okay.
• 1:01:42
  SPEAKER_03: All right.
• 1:01:42
  SPEAKER_03: So the numbers, right?
• 1:01:45
SPEAKER_03: Do you remember the numbers?
• 1:01:48
SPEAKER_01: I remember numbers, but I don't remember what the numbers are.
• 1:01:51
SPEAKER_01: Like, I I wrote it down in my little.
• 1:01:54
  SPEAKER_01: I used to be such a good co-host.
• 1:01:55
  SPEAKER_03: I have my good co-host, yeah.
• 1:01:57
SPEAKER_01: I have my notebook, I have my little notes and everything, and I just I forgot what to do.
• 1:02:03
  SPEAKER_03: So the numbers are 4, 8, 15, 16, 23, 42.
• 1:02:07
  SPEAKER_03: Yes, I remember them.
• 1:02:08
SPEAKER_01: Anyway, that's weird, but go ahead.
• 1:02:10
  SPEAKER_03: I know.
• 1:02:11
SPEAKER_03: Um, so Hurley's card chaste aired on channel eight, and then obviously, right, the ho-hos and the ho-hos and the eight and the fifteen, uh-huh.
• 1:02:21
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 1:02:23
SPEAKER_03: Let's talk about the fact that Hurley lied about Anna Lucia.
• 1:02:27
SPEAKER_01: Well yeah, that makes sense to me.
• 1:02:28
  SPEAKER_01: Why'd he do that?
• 1:02:30
SPEAKER_01: Oh, we're gonna find out.
• 1:02:32
  SPEAKER_03: We might, yeah.
• 1:02:34
SPEAKER_01: Maybe she's dead, but not dead.
• 1:02:35
SPEAKER_03: So there's a lot of secrets, right?
• 1:02:37
SPEAKER_03: Because the cop is like, oh, did you know her?
• 1:02:39
  SPEAKER_03: Nope.
• 1:02:41
SPEAKER_03: He tells Jack if Jack is worried about if he's gonna tell.
• 1:02:46
SPEAKER_03: So we don't know what he's going to tell.
• 1:02:48
  SPEAKER_03: We have no idea.
• 1:02:50
SPEAKER_03: When Abaddon comes, he asks if they're still alive, which we can safely assume, right, is the other people that were on the plane, right?
• 1:03:01
SPEAKER_03: I think it's fair to assume that.
• 1:03:03
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I feel like um maybe they all left the island, like all the people that were going to leave left the island, but for some unknown reason, they only let six go and they kept the rest.
• 1:03:17
  SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
• 1:03:18
SPEAKER_01: Okay, I was also watching um the other one.
• 1:03:24
  SPEAKER_01: I didn't watch it.
• 1:03:25
SPEAKER_01: I didn't watch the last season because it was getting too ridiculous.
• 1:03:28
SPEAKER_01: Um, the other one with the plane.
• 1:03:30
  SPEAKER_01: The oh, manifest.
• 1:03:32
  SPEAKER_01: Manifest, thank you.
• 1:03:33
SPEAKER_03: So I didn't watch the last season, yeah.
• 1:03:35
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I didn't watch last season because by the time it came back on, I had already like, yeah, I'm done with it already.
• 1:03:41
SPEAKER_01: But it started so good, yeah.
• 1:03:43
SPEAKER_01: Netflix picked it up, which is fine, but it was already, uh by the time they actually got it.
• 1:03:49
SPEAKER_01: I'm like, I'm manifest it out, but I feel like manifest vibes with this somehow.
• 1:03:55
SPEAKER_01: Because the men in black, like that only he like coming from I represent Ocean.
• 1:04:02
  SPEAKER_01: Listen, men in black.
• 1:04:05
SPEAKER_01: We saw them, we all seen the movie, right?
• 1:04:07
SPEAKER_01: We know what you like and all these alphabet soup agencies all straight in black.
• 1:04:17
SPEAKER_01: So like I um I getting I'm getting like black sight vibes.
• 1:04:25
SPEAKER_03: Okay, when Matthew Abaddon sits at the chessboard, he sits on the light side.
• 1:04:35
SPEAKER_03: Remember, there's this whole dark versus light, right?
• 1:04:39
SPEAKER_03: And Hurley sits away from either side of the board, so he sits between it.
• 1:04:44
SPEAKER_03: The Matthew, the Matthew, the Abaddon character, this is a Bible reference, okay?
• 1:04:53
SPEAKER_03: And there's there's a lot of religious themes in this show.
• 1:04:58
SPEAKER_03: Abaddon is the name for the angel of the abyss in Revelation.
• 1:05:04
SPEAKER_03: This angel does the work of God in binding Satan and hurling him into the abyss.
• 1:05:11
SPEAKER_03: Abaddon means destroyer or destruction in Hebrew.
• 1:05:16
SPEAKER_03: More precisely, this name comes from the Hebrew root word, and and forgive me if I don't pronounce this correctly, Aleph Bet Dalid, which means lost.
• 1:05:31
  SPEAKER_03: It's that's what I'm saying.
• 1:05:33
SPEAKER_03: Like when you are like, oh, there's somebody who's like full-time job, because there's just so many fucking layers, so many.
• 1:05:42
  SPEAKER_01: I I am I think it's 50-50.
• 1:05:45
  SPEAKER_01: I think it's 50-50 that they have.
• 1:05:46
SPEAKER_01: Like, obviously, you like you're this is the random bullshit team.
• 1:05:50
SPEAKER_03: Okay, but the ho ho's, yeah, but somebody whose name is Abaddon, that's that's on purpose.
• 1:05:56
  SPEAKER_01: That's on purpose.
• 1:05:57
SPEAKER_01: Like you're random, you like this is and then some and then there's a couple of these things, they're like, Oh, look, that fit.
• 1:06:02
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, let's go with that.
• 1:06:03
SPEAKER_03: Like and and that actor though, like once you see him appear, you know you're in for some like intense shit because he's fucking amazing.
• 1:06:13
SPEAKER_01: He scares me, but in a good way, yeah, right.
• 1:06:16
  SPEAKER_01: I like I like it.
• 1:06:17
  SPEAKER_01: I love it.
• 1:06:18
SPEAKER_01: I'm like, like if he was to like knock on my door, I'm like, oh no.
• 1:06:23
  SPEAKER_01: You have some shit.
• 1:06:24
SPEAKER_01: Oh, where are we going?
• 1:06:25
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, right.
• 1:06:26
  SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
• 1:06:26
  SPEAKER_01: Like this changed good.
• 1:06:28
SPEAKER_01: Well, let me get my shoes.
• 1:06:29
SPEAKER_01: Hold on, I'll get my purse.
• 1:06:31
  SPEAKER_01: Hold on, one minute.
• 1:06:40
SPEAKER_03: So we already kind of pieced together that this flash forward takes place before the flash forward in the end of season three.
• 1:06:50
SPEAKER_03: Not only because Jack hasn't grown his beard yet, but because somehow we get from Hurley telling him that we need to go back, and Jack is like, absolutely not.
• 1:06:59
SPEAKER_03: To Jack being the one who's hoping that a plane crashes.
• 1:07:03
SPEAKER_01: Who's like trying to commit suicide so he can go back to the island?
• 1:07:07
  SPEAKER_03: Right.
• 1:07:08
SPEAKER_01: I would like a golden pass though.
• 1:07:10
SPEAKER_03: I you know, I would like that too.
• 1:07:12
SPEAKER_01: It wasn't there a guy back in like the 80s that got a pet.
• 1:07:17
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 1:07:18
SPEAKER_03: It used to be like a thing that they they sold it.
• 1:07:20
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 1:07:21
SPEAKER_03: They sold like unlimited flights.
• 1:07:23
SPEAKER_03: And then the one guy who used it, and then they're like, Yeah, this is not a good idea.
• 1:07:28
SPEAKER_01: This is not gonna do this anymore.
• 1:07:30
SPEAKER_01: And my mother was telling, I told my mother about that.
• 1:07:33
SPEAKER_01: She's like, um, she's like, Oh, yeah, I should have bought one when I had the chance.
• 1:07:38
SPEAKER_01: I was like, You think?
• 1:07:40
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, you think they're probably non-transferable though.
• 1:07:45
SPEAKER_03: No, well, maybe back then.
• 1:07:48
SPEAKER_01: Back then when things were a little more loosey-goosey, and you know, and I think I told you before, flying just isn't the same like it was pre-COVID, pre-9-11.
• 1:07:59
  SPEAKER_01: Flying is just it's a chore.
• 1:08:01
SPEAKER_01: It is, but I would still pick drive, I mean, flying over driving to my vacation anytime.
• 1:08:08
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and also see Stella agrees.
• 1:08:15
SPEAKER_03: Um, another connection is that Hurley tells Jack never say never.
• 1:08:25
SPEAKER_03: And I don't know if you remember from one of the webisodes that Ben tells Jack never say never.
• 1:08:32
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I remember that.
• 1:08:35
SPEAKER_03: Let's talk about the split.
• 1:08:38
SPEAKER_03: Locke's group is like, nope, we don't want to leave the island.
• 1:08:42
SPEAKER_03: The freighter is bad, and Jack's group, which this is a common thing, right?
• 1:08:46
  SPEAKER_03: Like Jack versus Locke.
• 1:08:48
  SPEAKER_01: Right.
• 1:08:48
SPEAKER_03: And Jack's group is like, no, freighter, good, we get rescued.
• 1:08:52
SPEAKER_03: So if you had to choose a group, where would you go?
• 1:08:55
  SPEAKER_03: Oh my god.
• 1:08:57
  SPEAKER_03: Oh my god.
• 1:08:58
  SPEAKER_03: Oh my god.
• 1:09:00
SPEAKER_03: I mean, I think I'd know where you would go, but where would you go?
• 1:09:06
  SPEAKER_01: I'm a creature of comfort.
• 1:09:08
  SPEAKER_01: I like my comforts.
• 1:09:09
SPEAKER_01: I mean, listen, Agnes right now, Agnes today, we're like, I want to go home.
• 1:09:15
SPEAKER_01: I I I I need electricity, but I need but they have the the others had electricity.
• 1:09:21
  SPEAKER_01: Not the same.
• 1:09:22
  SPEAKER_01: I want home.
• 1:09:23
SPEAKER_01: I want the comforts of my home.
• 1:09:24
SPEAKER_01: I want to, you know.
• 1:09:26
SPEAKER_01: Um, but Agnes that was on this crazy ass island for 80, 90 days, may actually have a different point of view.
• 1:09:34
SPEAKER_01: So I really can't even answer that.
• 1:09:36
  SPEAKER_01: But okay.
• 1:09:37
SPEAKER_03: That's that's actually more than I gave you credit for.
• 1:09:40
SPEAKER_03: I was like, I fucking hate Jack, so obviously you're going with Loc.
• 1:09:44
SPEAKER_03: And you love Terry O'Quinn.
• 1:09:45
SPEAKER_01: So well, I didn't think about it with I didn't look at it that part.
• 1:09:49
SPEAKER_01: I thought like, okay, home.
• 1:09:50
SPEAKER_01: If I deal with this second, but honestly, I would have cashiered Jack a long time ago, like figuratively.
• 1:09:56
  SPEAKER_03: Fair enough.
• 1:09:57
SPEAKER_01: So that wouldn't have been Jack wouldn't have been an issue.
• 1:10:00
SPEAKER_03: So you would have, you would have, okay.
• 1:10:01
SPEAKER_03: So Jack, Jack and Locke aside, right?
• 1:10:04
SPEAKER_03: Like, let's just take them two out of the picture and and break it down to freighter good or freighter bad.
• 1:10:10
SPEAKER_03: You would take your chances with getting rescued?
• 1:10:13
SPEAKER_01: Like I said, Agnes free island, yeah, rescue me.
• 1:10:18
SPEAKER_01: But Agnes on this island would probably, I gotta say, I don't know.
• 1:10:23
SPEAKER_01: I think I might have stayed only because they're like, wait, not Penny's boat?
• 1:10:27
SPEAKER_01: Like, what do you mean?
• 1:10:29
SPEAKER_01: So this chick was lying.
• 1:10:31
  SPEAKER_01: Wait, what?
• 1:10:32
  SPEAKER_01: Wait, hold up.
• 1:10:33
SPEAKER_01: And I'd already seen all this shit happening.
• 1:10:42
SPEAKER_01: I think I might have, I think I might have just stayed just because, like, the odds are shit ain't right.
• 1:10:50
SPEAKER_01: But at the second, but the island seems to have a mind of its own, and it maybe just want to keep me there.
• 1:10:57
  SPEAKER_01: So I don't know.
• 1:10:58
  SPEAKER_01: I don't, I don't, I don't fucking know.
• 1:11:00
SPEAKER_01: I won't be having my life depends on it.
• 1:11:02
SPEAKER_01: I'm like really like that's fair, bracking my brain out.
• 1:11:05
  SPEAKER_01: What would you do?
• 1:11:07
SPEAKER_03: That's hard to answer because I know, like oh, you can't answer because you know how fine.
• 1:11:14
  SPEAKER_03: But I don't know.
• 1:11:16
SPEAKER_03: Like, I'm I'm just trying to think, like, if I had to, I don't know.
• 1:11:20
  SPEAKER_03: I don't know.
• 1:11:22
  SPEAKER_03: That's a tough one, right?
• 1:11:23
SPEAKER_03: Because if you're faced with like the prospect of getting rescued, but then you've got all these people telling you no, like they're bad news, do you want to take that chance?
• 1:11:32
SPEAKER_01: And just based on everything that you have actually experienced with this wacky island, I don't know.
• 1:11:39
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 1:11:41
SPEAKER_01: Because who's to say, based on everything that I've seen there, if I'm rescued, am I actually being rescued?
• 1:11:48
SPEAKER_01: Am I going like I don't like I don't know if I'm actually being rescued or they just have me they're drugged up and I'm dreaming, I think I'm back home.
• 1:11:58
  SPEAKER_01: That's what it is.
• 1:11:59
SPEAKER_01: They're not really back home.
• 1:12:00
SPEAKER_01: They're under the it's like the matrix.
• 1:12:04
  SPEAKER_01: Okay, that's not a real thought.
• 1:12:07
SPEAKER_03: Add that to the wacky stuff.
• 1:12:10
SPEAKER_01: No, add that to no, that that wasn't even to be added.
• 1:12:13
  SPEAKER_01: That's just like a okay.
• 1:12:16
SPEAKER_03: So the title of this episode is the beginning of the end.
• 1:12:22
  SPEAKER_03: And it's it's threefold.
• 1:12:29
SPEAKER_03: One, it refers to Ben's comment at the end of last season where he told Jack, if you make that phone call, it's the beginning of the end.
• 1:12:37
  SPEAKER_01: Right.
• 1:12:38
  SPEAKER_03: So that's one.
• 1:12:39
SPEAKER_03: Two, this is the second half of the series.
• 1:12:42
SPEAKER_03: So by the time that this episode aired, the writers and you know, the production already had the end date.
• 1:12:53
SPEAKER_03: So now everything is is working towards that end.
• 1:12:57
SPEAKER_03: Like they already had, they already knew that it was just gonna go for six seasons, they already knew how they wanted it to end.
• 1:13:02
SPEAKER_01: Okay, so it was legitimately the beginning of the end, right?
• 1:13:07
SPEAKER_03: Okay, and the third thing is that it's the beginning of the end because you know, shit's about to happen.
• 1:13:16
SPEAKER_03: Well, you said that was so final.
• 1:13:19
SPEAKER_03: Shit's about to happen, and I'm not gonna tell you what shit, but what shit?
• 1:13:23
  SPEAKER_03: Some shit.
• 1:13:25
SPEAKER_01: Major shit, major shit, wow, yeah, it's gonna get rough, like White Castle and Taco Bell shit a little bit.
• 1:13:40
SPEAKER_01: Oh, that's a major shit right there.
• 1:13:42
SPEAKER_03: Like you you thought that Charlie's death was traumatic.
• 1:13:46
SPEAKER_01: Oh god, like we're gonna we're gonna play with your heart strings kind of.
• 1:13:50
SPEAKER_01: Am I gonna have to like do me a favor before each episode?
• 1:13:53
SPEAKER_01: Tell me to take an Alabama prior to the episode, please.
• 1:13:56
  SPEAKER_01: Okay, all right.
• 1:13:57
  SPEAKER_01: I can do that.
• 1:13:58
  SPEAKER_01: I appreciate that.
• 1:14:00
SPEAKER_01: Side note, I want White Castle now.
• 1:14:03
SPEAKER_01: But I wanted from White.
• 1:14:04
SPEAKER_03: The castle does sound kind of good.
• 1:14:07
SPEAKER_01: Is that I wanted from because the best spot, I mean the best one.
• 1:14:12
SPEAKER_01: The White Castle here does not taste like White Castle back home.
• 1:14:15
SPEAKER_01: I remember I told you that one of my trips over there, it was totally different taste.
• 1:14:21
SPEAKER_03: I mean, you can't expect to have good shit over there.
• 1:14:24
SPEAKER_01: It's fast food, it should be j it should be standard, it should be, but it's not.
• 1:14:28
  SPEAKER_01: It really isn't.
• 1:14:29
  SPEAKER_01: It tastes so different.
• 1:14:30
SPEAKER_01: And I remember I had it here.
• 1:14:32
SPEAKER_01: I'm like, oh, they must just change the recipe, they must just change something, and it was okay, it just was the same.
• 1:14:36
SPEAKER_01: Like to the point like the frozen the box you get in the grocery store was actually better.
• 1:14:41
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I was gonna say those don't taste too bad.
• 1:14:44
SPEAKER_03: Like I've had them at your house.
• 1:14:46
SPEAKER_01: We got we had some.
• 1:14:47
SPEAKER_01: Alex bought some home, and I'm like, oh, this is the taste that I remember.
• 1:14:53
  SPEAKER_01: So yeah.
• 1:14:55
SPEAKER_03: Do you remember when Naomi first landed in the season three finale?
• 1:15:04
SPEAKER_03: And and before they saw who was in it, Desmond Desmond Hurley, and I can't remember who else, but they're the ones who came upon her in the woods.
• 1:15:19
SPEAKER_03: I think it was Jin.
• 1:15:22
SPEAKER_03: And first they found the book, and when Desmond opened the book, it had was it in the finale?
• 1:15:32
  SPEAKER_03: I don't know.
• 1:15:32
SPEAKER_03: Anyway, but Naomi had a book and it had a picture of Desmond and Penny in it.
• 1:15:37
SPEAKER_03: So Desmond thought that it was Penny.
• 1:15:40
  SPEAKER_03: Okay.
• 1:15:42
SPEAKER_03: But now and and so that would make sense, right?
• 1:15:47
SPEAKER_03: This is why Charlie thought that this was Penny's boat, because there was a picture of Desmond and Penny.
• 1:15:54
  SPEAKER_03: Right.
• 1:15:55
SPEAKER_03: But now we realize that it's not Penny's boat, according to Charlie, and according to Penny.
• 1:16:02
SPEAKER_03: So, do you have any thoughts on that in terms of then why the fuck is this boat here?
• 1:16:11
SPEAKER_03: Why are they looking for Desmond if it's not Penny's boat?
• 1:16:15
  SPEAKER_01: No idea.
• 1:16:17
  SPEAKER_03: Okie dokie.
• 1:16:18
  SPEAKER_03: Gotcha.
• 1:16:19
  SPEAKER_03: None.
• 1:16:20
  SPEAKER_03: Fair enough.
• 1:16:23
SPEAKER_03: Okay, I mentioned before that we have character development.
• 1:16:28
SPEAKER_03: And so up until now, we've seen a much tougher quote unquote callus Sawyer.
• 1:16:37
SPEAKER_03: And Sawyer is starting to now show like this tender side.
• 1:16:42
SPEAKER_03: Like he's looking out for her lee.
• 1:16:44
SPEAKER_03: You know, you know why, right?
• 1:16:46
SPEAKER_01: Why he fell in love?
• 1:16:49
  SPEAKER_03: Oh, Sawyer.
• 1:16:50
SPEAKER_01: I think he he's smitten with um oh my god, brain fart with this chick.
• 1:16:59
SPEAKER_03: Are you thinking of Juliet or are you thinking of Kate?
• 1:17:02
  SPEAKER_01: Kate.
• 1:17:03
  SPEAKER_01: Kate.
• 1:17:04
  SPEAKER_03: Okay.
• 1:17:05
SPEAKER_03: Well, they they were kind of like fucking around, right?
• 1:17:09
SPEAKER_03: Okay, I wasn't sure if you meant Juliet because they were in the group together.
• 1:17:13
SPEAKER_01: No, I don't think it's really with Kate, because I don't care what anyone says, men do get emotional doing intimate moments.
• 1:17:21
SPEAKER_01: So I think he Yeah.
• 1:17:23
SPEAKER_01: And then killing dude, I think that just brought out a whole new aspect of him.
• 1:17:31
SPEAKER_03: I think that really fucked with his head.
• 1:17:33
SPEAKER_03: So that was, you know, that was like a nice, a nice moment from him, someone that we just really haven't seen that kind of behavior from.
• 1:17:42
SPEAKER_03: And Hurley, Hurley has gone from like happy go lucky, everyone loves Hurley to take charge Hurley, take no shit, Hurley.
• 1:17:52
SPEAKER_03: And there was something like when we were talking about the religious themes, there was something that I read that was kind of comparing his cannonball into the ocean as a baptism.
• 1:18:13
SPEAKER_03: He went into the ocean as the happy-go-lucky hurly who had found freedom, and he came out of the ocean.
• 1:18:23
SPEAKER_03: Okay, granted, he got his heart broken like two minutes later because Charlie was dead, but this take no shit, take charge hurly, who's throwing walkies into the ocean and saying, Let's go, and I don't want to talk about it.
• 1:18:37
SPEAKER_01: I feel like after all the things that they've all been through, Charlie's death was such, I don't want to say surprising linchpin, but it's like, wait, you went through all of this, but this hit you, and it's not surprising, but I think it might have been more like the final straw that broke the camera's back.
• 1:18:57
  SPEAKER_01: And it's like a it's a reverse baptism.
• 1:19:00
  SPEAKER_01: He's just like, uh-uh.
• 1:19:02
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah, no, I don't disagree.
• 1:19:06
SPEAKER_03: Um, the last thing that I want to ask you is we see from the flash forwards that at least three of them have gotten off the island.
• 1:19:22
SPEAKER_03: The end of season three, it was like, oh, they got off the island.
• 1:19:27
SPEAKER_03: At least Jack and Kate got off the island, the freighter is coming, so it's really kind of easy to say, oh, well, they got off the island because the freighter came and rescued them.
• 1:19:37
SPEAKER_03: Now we hear the freighter is bad.
• 1:19:42
SPEAKER_03: We also see that Hurley, Kate, and Jack are off the island, but we know from the end of this episode that they split up.
• 1:19:52
SPEAKER_03: Yet they like Hurley went with Locke.
• 1:19:57
SPEAKER_03: So how how if you had to guess, how do you guess like to reconcile?
• 1:20:04
SPEAKER_03: Did they go on the freighter?
• 1:20:05
  SPEAKER_03: Was the freighter bad?
• 1:20:07
SPEAKER_03: Like, how did it end up that at least those three, even though they split, are off the island?
• 1:20:13
  SPEAKER_01: No freaking idea.
• 1:20:15
SPEAKER_01: Because common sense will be like okay, whatever common sense tells you to do, lost is gonna do the opposite.
• 1:20:21
SPEAKER_01: So be like, oh, it's at least you like it's just you're like, okay, at least once you believe it's the friend that the the the boat did, the boat got them off, but dun dun dun.
• 1:20:32
  SPEAKER_01: This is lost.
• 1:20:33
SPEAKER_01: So what you expect is not what's gonna happen.
• 1:20:36
  SPEAKER_01: Like so, I I don't know.
• 1:20:42
SPEAKER_01: I don't I and I don't even I'm not even con like like when you said that they're like, oh no, but you're dead.
• 1:20:49
SPEAKER_01: Like I'm not even convinced they actually went back at this point.
• 1:20:54
  SPEAKER_01: Okay, I well feel like I know I I don't know.
• 1:21:00
SPEAKER_03: I think that we touched on this at the end of last season that how the island is the present time and then the they cut to the flashbacks, right?
• 1:21:12
SPEAKER_03: So it always it always opens on the island and then cuts to the flashbacks, right?
• 1:21:22
SPEAKER_03: So is it possible that the flash forwards are not flash forwards, but the current time and the island is now the flashback?
• 1:21:35
SPEAKER_03: Isn't that saying the same thing?
• 1:21:37
SPEAKER_01: If the island's a flashback, then the then them on land, them off the island is flash forward.
• 1:21:44
SPEAKER_01: That's kind of saying the same thing, isn't it?
• 1:21:47
SPEAKER_01: As far as the time and time in the like in the if you're looking at it like a as a timeline.
• 1:21:53
SPEAKER_01: Like, you know what I mean?
• 1:21:55
SPEAKER_01: If you're looking at a time frame, a timeline, um island flash forward, like the if they're all if they're off the island, the island is gonna be a flashback anyway, and that's gonna be a flash forward, no matter how you look at it, the same thing, isn't it?
• 1:22:13
  SPEAKER_03: Okay, okay.
• 1:22:14
SPEAKER_03: So the island, so like the island timeline is like the constant, and then we either cut to back or forward, but the island is like the constant.
• 1:22:26
SPEAKER_01: I think one would always have to be a constant.
• 1:22:29
SPEAKER_01: Okay, um, that's assuming this sounds really stupid, but that's assuming that they're on the same timeline.
• 1:22:39
SPEAKER_01: Okay, like what if it's a flash forward?
• 1:22:43
SPEAKER_01: Okay, I you guys I wish they were see me.
• 1:22:47
SPEAKER_01: You have a timeline that's like she's using her hand, she's got like a imagine a time, imagine a horizontal line and you have island off island, flashback, flash forward.
• 1:22:59
  SPEAKER_01: Great, imagine that.
• 1:23:00
SPEAKER_01: But there's a second line parallel to that one.
• 1:23:04
SPEAKER_01: So, what if the island's on the top line and your flash forward is a forward, but on the next horizontal line?
• 1:23:12
SPEAKER_01: Like, who's to say that they're even on the same those are the on the same crane?
• 1:23:18
  SPEAKER_01: Some shit like right.
• 1:23:19
SPEAKER_01: Okay, why did I just say that?
• 1:23:21
  SPEAKER_01: Duh.
• 1:23:25
  SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
• 1:23:27
SPEAKER_01: I don't know, but I think at this point with lost, it could possibly be.
• 1:23:31
SPEAKER_03: I mean, it is, it is not they have I don't know if you remember that.
• 1:23:35
SPEAKER_03: Um I think this is like back in the first season that Said is sitting on the beach with I think it's Hurley, that they found a radio and they're trying to get a station, and they finally get a signal, and it's and they're like, Who knows where the signal's coming from?
• 1:23:54
SPEAKER_03: Or when it's coming from when, right?
• 1:23:57
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, so I mean, you know, they've they've kind of hinted at shit like that.
• 1:24:01
SPEAKER_03: So for you to guess, it wouldn't be like that far of a leap when everything is fucking everything.
• 1:24:06
  SPEAKER_01: Everything is everything, yeah.
• 1:24:08
SPEAKER_03: So yeah, but that was it.
• 1:24:12
SPEAKER_03: It was just kind of like, you know, how do we reconcile what we know?
• 1:24:20
SPEAKER_03: Like, how does how does one get like we know point A and we know point B, but what were your guesses in the meantime?
• 1:24:26
SPEAKER_01: So, yeah, there is no reconciling with lost.
• 1:24:29
SPEAKER_01: Okay, well, you just fall deeper and deeper into the rabbit hole until you're like, oh my gosh, someone commit me.
• 1:24:36
SPEAKER_01: I'm surprised more people didn't need medication when the series went off.
• 1:24:40
SPEAKER_03: I will tell you this.
• 1:24:42
  SPEAKER_03: You will find out.
• 1:24:44
SPEAKER_03: I'm sorry, I said you will find out.
• 1:24:47
SPEAKER_01: Well, it all makes sense in the lost kind of way.
• 1:24:50
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, you will find out who or what the Oceanic Six is, you will find out how they got off the island.
• 1:25:01
SPEAKER_03: You you will find out, yeah.
• 1:25:06
SPEAKER_01: Um honestly, if you say so, I'll take your word for it.
• 1:25:09
SPEAKER_01: But I've already resigned to the fact that the world may never know.
• 1:25:12
SPEAKER_01: It's like the how many lips to get to the system with 20 years old.
• 1:25:17
SPEAKER_03: I'm telling you that you do find out.
• 1:25:18
SPEAKER_03: I I know you do, I know the answer.
• 1:25:21
  SPEAKER_01: Okay, I still don't believe you.
• 1:25:23
SPEAKER_01: I'm like loss is I lost trust in everything watching Lost.
• 1:25:27
SPEAKER_01: So I'm like, I don't believe anything, I don't believe anything my eyes can see.
• 1:25:32
SPEAKER_01: Like it's it's all gonna be in doubt for the rest of my life.
• 1:25:36
SPEAKER_03: I mean, I I really can't deny that this show kind of fucks with your like uh trust, but but you do find out this stuff.
• 1:25:48
SPEAKER_03: There's there's stuff that you will never find out, but this you will find out.
• 1:25:54
SPEAKER_01: Um, am I gonna find out this season or the end of sex?
• 1:25:58
SPEAKER_01: I'll go through like all the season six.
• 1:26:01
SPEAKER_03: I'm pretty sure you find out this season.
• 1:26:03
SPEAKER_01: Okay, okay, so that worries me.
• 1:26:06
  SPEAKER_03: Why?
• 1:26:08
SPEAKER_01: Because if I find out all of this now, that means they have two seasons to really fuck with me.
• 1:26:15
SPEAKER_03: Well, as you said, you find out the answer to something, and then you get another question, right?
• 1:26:23
SPEAKER_01: They're like, okay, we're gonna wrap up the first three seasons and this last season, but wait, we're really gonna make you nutsy cuckoo.
• 1:26:32
  SPEAKER_01: Like, didn't I say the island?
• 1:26:34
SPEAKER_01: What did I say earlier?
• 1:26:35
SPEAKER_01: The island's gonna be like in a different part of the country.
• 1:26:40
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, it's gonna be in the in the Arctic somewhere, like yeah, that's what you said.
• 1:26:45
  SPEAKER_03: Oh, yes, yes, yes.
• 1:26:46
SPEAKER_03: You said the island was gonna be in the Arctic, yeah.
• 1:26:49
SPEAKER_01: They're like, bitches, bring it with the coats, like yeah.
• 1:26:58
SPEAKER_01: Did we ever find out what the weird thing was?
• 1:27:04
SPEAKER_03: Oh, the the communication in the Arctic.
• 1:27:10
SPEAKER_01: Okay, that's another weird thing.
• 1:27:11
SPEAKER_01: Okay, no, the one like it's from season one, episode one that ate the guy from the plane.
• 1:27:18
  SPEAKER_03: No, we haven't.
• 1:27:20
SPEAKER_03: The smoke monster, yeah, it just kind of disappeared, right?
• 1:27:23
SPEAKER_03: We haven't seen it in a while, but we will we'll we will find out about that too.
• 1:27:28
