- 0:22Speaker 1: You are listening to Eagles postgame analysis here at the
- 0:24Speaker 1: Philadelphia Sports Table podcast show, the longest running weekly Philly
- 0:28Speaker 1: sports podcast show in the world, twelve and a half
- 0:30Speaker 1: years strong. We've got a great postgame show coming your
- 0:33Speaker 1: way as the Philadelphia Eagles here in week eight bat
- 0:37Speaker 1: and just absolutely annihilate, which I loved seeing. We all
- 0:40Speaker 1: love seeing it. Eagles Nation the New York Giants. They
- 0:43Speaker 1: just killed them by a score thirty eight to twenty.
- 0:45Speaker 1: They are now six and two on the season, probably
- 0:49Speaker 1: the best victory so far of this season. And to
- 0:52Speaker 1: join us this week to dive into our themes and
- 0:54Speaker 1: to give our grades, We've got our good friend from
- 0:57Speaker 1: the Honorable mentioned podcast I listened on Apple Podcasts. To
- 1:00Speaker 1: watch on YouTube, search out the Honorable Mention podcast. We've
- 1:04Speaker 1: got our great friend, Matt Rodgers, my friend, thank you
- 1:06Speaker 1: so much for filling in for the guys here. And
- 1:08Speaker 1: but man, I gotta tell you, it was great just
- 1:10Speaker 1: watching the Philadelphia Eagles just completely shove it right up
- 1:12Speaker 1: the Giants, Buttholes after what happened a couple of weeks ago. Man,
- 1:15Speaker 1: good to see it, my friend, right, Yes, I mean
- 1:18Speaker 1: just to I just before I even get started before
- 1:21Speaker 1: I even get started gloating.
- 1:23Speaker 2: Yes, do want to wish the best to Cam Skataboo.
- 1:27Speaker 2: Absolutely lonesome injury.
- 1:29Speaker 1: I was gonna mention it, yeah, yeah, I was gonna
- 1:32Speaker 1: mention it myself. Yeah, because you know, we came into
- 1:34Speaker 1: this game with Aj Brown, Cam Jurgens, and Adorri Jackson
- 1:37Speaker 1: all being out and then I was gonna mention too,
- 1:39Speaker 1: Cam Skataboo, just my gosh, a major ankle dislocation. His
- 1:44Speaker 1: foot was basically dangling off his leg. Hate to see
- 1:46Speaker 1: that happen to any player in football. Really, our thoughts
- 1:49Speaker 1: are with him, and in terms of the injuries as
- 1:51Speaker 1: well in this game, not too many. But at the
- 1:54Speaker 1: end in the fourth quarter, Saquon Barkley tweaked his groins,
- 1:57Speaker 1: so thankfully the Eagles have a bye week next week,
- 2:00Speaker 1: he's gonna be able to nurse that. So thanks for
- 2:03Speaker 1: starting to us off seriously with the the camp Scataby thing,
- 2:06Speaker 1: because seriously, like, we love football, you know, we definitely
- 2:09Speaker 1: don't like the Giants, but we hate when players go
- 2:11Speaker 1: down the way that he did.
- 2:12Speaker 3: It's just it's terrible. It really is. So appreciate that, yaid. Yes.
- 2:16Speaker 3: With that, With that said, I am.
- 2:18Speaker 2: Glad that the Eagles kicked their teeth in. Yes, appropriately.
- 2:22Speaker 2: I didn't want to hear anything about people letting the.
- 2:25Speaker 3: Eagles off the hook. Oh, this is a tougher Giants team.
- 2:28Speaker 3: You know.
- 2:28Speaker 2: The Eagles defenses ailing. Of course, they're they're they're they're
- 2:32Speaker 2: banged up. They don't have great pass rushers, so Jackson
- 2:35Speaker 2: Dart's gonna be a problem for them, and all that short. Fine, Yes,
- 2:39Speaker 2: this Eagles team has Super Bowl aspirations. And the other
- 2:42Speaker 2: team that was coming into their stadium, uh was two
- 2:46Speaker 2: and five and it's the New York Giants. Yes, they
- 2:50Speaker 2: have two wins on the season. They now have one
- 2:53Speaker 2: more win than the.
- 2:54Speaker 3: New York Jets.
- 2:55Speaker 2: Yes, and so the expectation coming into this game was
- 2:58Speaker 2: to do exactly what they did to them. It's great
- 3:02Speaker 2: to see the Eagles finally do answer these questions of
- 3:06Speaker 2: what what is it that the Eagles can do? Do
- 3:09Speaker 2: they do they stay too close to teams because their
- 3:12Speaker 2: offense isn't high flying. Now we have Jalen Herds of
- 3:14Speaker 2: four touchdown passes and the running attack absolutely just demolishing
- 3:19Speaker 2: Tank Bigsby out there.
- 3:20Speaker 1: Man.
- 3:20Speaker 3: I loved it. And the benching of aj Dillon. There's
- 3:23Speaker 3: so many themes. I mean, I don't want to call
- 3:25Speaker 3: it a benching. Maybe they decided to use them other
- 3:28Speaker 3: other backs.
- 3:30Speaker 2: I don't know if I saw a snap from AJ Dillon,
- 3:32Speaker 2: but I don't want to say he got benched on
- 3:34Speaker 2: behalf of the coaching team.
- 3:36Speaker 3: I think they just didn't use them. Yeah, I think
- 3:37Speaker 3: they just didn't use them.
- 3:38Speaker 1: But you know, I mean before you know, you know,
- 3:41Speaker 1: getting into the themes like we like to, and then
- 3:43Speaker 1: you know, after our break, we'll get into the grades.
- 3:45Speaker 3: Matt.
- 3:45Speaker 1: You know, coming into this game, there were three different
- 3:48Speaker 1: aspects of this team that I was really going to
- 3:50Speaker 1: be looking at. The first was, and it's a question,
- 3:52Speaker 1: you know, what was the pass rush going to be
- 3:55Speaker 1: more effective? And were they going to be able to
- 3:57Speaker 1: get home? I think we are able to say yes
- 4:01Speaker 1: in terms of this game, this game in particular. Another
- 4:04Speaker 1: one was a question mark regarding the offensive line and
- 4:09Speaker 1: they're blocking for the run game. Was that going to improve?
- 4:13Speaker 1: We obviously saw yes that that actually happened. And who
- 4:16Speaker 1: was going to step up receiving wise because AJ Brown
- 4:19Speaker 1: was out and we saw guys on this team stepping
- 4:22Speaker 1: up in moments, whether it was even though he only
- 4:26Speaker 1: had one catch, Johan Dotson with an amazing catch right
- 4:29Speaker 1: at the catch point on fourth down and for a touchdown.
- 4:31Speaker 1: You had, you had Dallas Goddard coming through when they
- 4:36Speaker 1: needed a big play, and of course Smitty, of course
- 4:40Speaker 1: Devonte Smith just taking up that mantle and picking up
- 4:43Speaker 1: that mantle of wide receiver one. Yes, all the questions
- 4:48Speaker 1: that I had coming into this, you know, is this
- 4:50Speaker 1: going to be effective? Is that going to be effective?
- 4:52Speaker 1: Everything was yes? I mean, you know, and I love
- 4:55Speaker 1: how Jackson Dart apparently said right before the game that
- 4:58Speaker 1: he couldn't wait to feel the hostile and Lincoln Financial
- 5:01Speaker 1: field getting his first start against the Philadelphia Eagles at
- 5:04Speaker 1: the link you.
- 5:04Speaker 3: Know what field, that's what it what exactly? How did
- 5:06Speaker 3: it feel, Jackson? How did it feel? Jackson?
- 5:09Speaker 2: Oh?
- 5:09Speaker 3: I absolutely love it. I love it.
- 5:11Speaker 1: So I got a bunch, I got a bunch of
- 5:14Speaker 1: themes to get into here. But do you want to
- 5:17Speaker 1: start off with what you particularly were looking at and
- 5:21Speaker 1: what we saw here?
- 5:25Speaker 2: I really thought the theme today was making that Jalen
- 5:29Speaker 2: Hurts still has other pass catchers that can make plays today.
- 5:33Speaker 2: So to get to get Johan dots in the ball today,
- 5:39Speaker 2: to really going to be a shot in the arm
- 5:41Speaker 2: in terms of his confidence.
- 5:43Speaker 3: There are ways that you can scheme open Dallas Goddard.
- 5:45Speaker 3: I was looking for that.
- 5:47Speaker 2: I mean, not having aj Brown is a big deal
- 5:51Speaker 2: because he's one of the best. He's one of the
- 5:54Speaker 2: ten best wide receivers many days, five best wide receivers
- 5:57Speaker 2: in football.
- 5:57Speaker 3: There's no question about that in my mind.
- 6:00Speaker 2: But this Eagles team has enough to beat the likes
- 6:05Speaker 2: and beat the likes of the Giants like they did today.
- 6:08Speaker 2: It was really good to see that. And so that
- 6:10Speaker 2: starts with the offense being able to sustain drives are
- 6:15Speaker 2: down here and there, or just through the passing game,
- 6:18Speaker 2: even if you get behind the sticks, you know, you
- 6:20Speaker 2: run on first and second down and it's third and eight.
- 6:23Speaker 3: What is it?
- 6:24Speaker 2: And if the Eagles can sustain drives and pass the
- 6:29Speaker 2: ball like this, they are going to go back to back.
- 6:33Speaker 2: I mean, if they can run the ball. And Jalen
- 6:36Speaker 2: Hurts is he's taking care of the football. He's always
- 6:40Speaker 2: taking care of the football. He's got fifteen touchdown passes now, yep,
- 6:43Speaker 2: touchdown passes to one interception. And so the passing game questions,
- 6:47Speaker 2: at least for the moment, I feel like have been
- 6:51Speaker 2: put to bed in my eyes.
- 6:52Speaker 3: But I don't know what do you think on that theme?
- 6:55Speaker 1: Jeff, absolutely, Look, when you are a football team, and
- 7:00Speaker 1: I want to all is also going to be looking
- 7:01Speaker 1: at what the third down conversion was as well, and
- 7:04Speaker 1: it kind of goes to what you're talking about. His
- 7:07Speaker 1: The way that he was passing the football today gave
- 7:11Speaker 1: us a glimpse and a picture of how he is
- 7:13Speaker 1: a big time playmaker because third down efficiency. The Eagles
- 7:17Speaker 1: were only two of eight, but a lot of the
- 7:20Speaker 1: big plays that we saw today were on first down,
- 7:23Speaker 1: they were on second down. There wasn't a lot of
- 7:26Speaker 1: fourth down, you know, fourth downs presented to them. And
- 7:30Speaker 1: yes they were two of two on fourth downs. But
- 7:33Speaker 1: I think where you are going with is that the
- 7:36Speaker 1: passing game very prolific, and I think that dovetails Matt
- 7:40Speaker 1: into a huge theme that all of us have been
- 7:44Speaker 1: talking about. We've been looking for it, waiting for it,
- 7:47Speaker 1: kind of searching for it, and it was where does
- 7:50Speaker 1: this run game go? The identity of what this team
- 7:53Speaker 1: has been now for well, especially last year, but not
- 7:57Speaker 1: really this year. Is that run and rushing attack going
- 8:01Speaker 1: to come back? The second play of the game. It
- 8:04Speaker 1: was Saquon Barkley's first rush of the game and it
- 8:07Speaker 1: went for sixty five yards and a touchdown. How do
- 8:11Speaker 1: you beat a five man front you have six offensive
- 8:14Speaker 1: linemen blocking them. The Eagles went heavy up front. Everybody
- 8:18Speaker 1: won on their one on one and it allowed Saquon
- 8:21Speaker 1: Barkley to do the rest. Huge gaping holes for him
- 8:25Speaker 1: to run through on that opening rush, and then in
- 8:29Speaker 1: the second quarter he had a receiving touchdown. Barkley did
- 8:33Speaker 1: just just textbook and that was textbook. Jalen Hurts to Barkley.
- 8:39Speaker 1: The timing was absolutely perfect. Barkley, by the way, now
- 8:42Speaker 1: has I think six total touchdowns on the season here.
- 8:45Speaker 1: I think six or seven at this point, and Gonna.
- 8:47Speaker 2: Hasn't even gottarted yet exactly exactly for me, yes, isn't
- 8:52Speaker 2: even the season hasn't even begun for Saquon. He could
- 8:55Speaker 2: still go for fifteen hundred and he.
- 8:58Speaker 1: Had his tenth career one hundred and fifty plus yard
- 9:02Speaker 1: rushing game here. But really, I think this this also
- 9:05Speaker 1: goes to something else too. The offensive line. They were
- 9:07Speaker 1: doing a damn good job today. They really did in
- 9:10Speaker 1: terms of their run blocking, offensive blocking looks so much
- 9:13Speaker 1: better this week, I think than it has in fact
- 9:18Speaker 1: all season. I think we have to give a ton
- 9:20Speaker 1: of credit to Jeff Staltlin. A ton of credit too
- 9:24Speaker 1: to one guy who we have all been kicking the
- 9:25Speaker 1: crap out of, and that is Brett Toath. Oh, I'll
- 9:29Speaker 1: be getting to Kevin. I'll be getting to Kevin. But
- 9:31Speaker 1: Brett Toad having such a nice game. If you go back,
- 9:35Speaker 1: you watch the film, watch the game, folks having a
- 9:38Speaker 1: very nice game, pulling on those outside runs by Barkley
- 9:41Speaker 1: throughout the game. I got to give credit where it's
- 9:43Speaker 1: deserved because I've been all over Brett Toth for being
- 9:46Speaker 1: a horrendous depth piece on this offensive line. But you
- 9:49Speaker 1: mentioned Kevin Patulo also probably the best game that he
- 9:54Speaker 1: has called so far this season. The first half was
- 9:57Speaker 1: absolutely sensational. In my opinion, these are huge themes for
- 10:02Speaker 1: me coming in. It looks like this was last week
- 10:04Speaker 1: was the semi get right game for this team.
- 10:08Speaker 3: This was the get right game for this Eagles team
- 10:10Speaker 3: for sure, and the offense.
- 10:12Speaker 2: And what I was looking down for the folks who
- 10:15Speaker 2: are or who are watching, thank you for watching, and.
- 10:17Speaker 3: Thank you for the people who are listening. I was
- 10:20Speaker 3: looking down that.
- 10:20Speaker 2: I was thinking, as we're going through all this, like
- 10:23Speaker 2: how many yards did Tank Bigsby end the game with?
- 10:26Speaker 1: Yes, look down, he ended the game with one hundred
- 10:28Speaker 1: and four yards on nine carries.
- 10:31Speaker 3: Folks, It's fantastic. It is fantastic.
- 10:37Speaker 4: Rushing yards in this game.
- 10:39Speaker 1: Rushing yards in this game by the Eagles was two
- 10:43Speaker 1: hundred and seventy six and in fact, the Eagles had
- 10:45Speaker 1: four hundred and twenty seven total yards in this game,
- 10:49Speaker 1: absolutely dominant. I love how you brought up Tank Bigsby.
- 10:52Speaker 1: You know, I was going to get to him with
- 10:54Speaker 1: the with with our grades of course, with the running
- 10:57Speaker 1: back position, which is obviously going to be like.
- 10:59Speaker 3: An A plus US plus plus plus.
- 11:01Speaker 1: But Tank Bigsby, that's why you traded two draft picks
- 11:06Speaker 1: for him to do this eleven point six yards per carry,
- 11:10Speaker 1: and yes he had that huge twenty nine yard er
- 11:13Speaker 1: as well when we had Because like, that's another theme,
- 11:17Speaker 1: that is another theme. I'm glad you brought this up, Matt,
- 11:20Speaker 1: because for me, another theme from an offensive perspective is
- 11:25Speaker 1: this team can get itself into situations. The offense can
- 11:28Speaker 1: get itself into some situations, and it goes to show
- 11:32Speaker 1: the resiliency of this Eagles offense. Jalen Hurts ended up
- 11:36Speaker 1: running into a twenty one yard sack, which we all
- 11:40Speaker 1: thought just absolutely killed the drive. It was probably one
- 11:42Speaker 1: of the worst plays he's actually run all season, just
- 11:45Speaker 1: running backwards like my gosh, what are you doing? Jalen
- 11:48Speaker 1: was second like thirty one and a rushing call to
- 11:53Speaker 1: Tank Bigsby of all people, he actually converted it. He
- 11:56Speaker 1: actually got the first down. That is resiliency from this
- 12:00Speaker 1: Eagles offense. Another theme here, I.
- 12:04Speaker 2: Mean, and when when this offensive line is bulldozing folks,
- 12:08Speaker 2: I mean, you know, see another day you cannot you
- 12:12Speaker 2: And with Jay Jalen the passing game, I'm not gonna
- 12:16Speaker 2: say this passing in my opinion, and I'm and I'm
- 12:19Speaker 2: from the more I'm more.
- 12:21Speaker 3: So always supporting Jalen Hurts.
- 12:23Speaker 2: I wouldn't say at this point it's prolific yet, but
- 12:27Speaker 2: it's between good. It's about very good, between good and prolific.
- 12:35Speaker 1: I mean, here's the question, though, does it have to
- 12:37Speaker 1: be prolific because look at this doesn't need I don't
- 12:40Speaker 1: believe it needs. No, it doesn't because he was five
- 12:43Speaker 1: of twenty matt for one hundred and seventy nine yards,
- 12:45Speaker 1: like you mentioned fifteen of twenty just for the listening. Wait,
- 12:49Speaker 1: what did I just say five of twenty? Oh my god,
- 12:51Speaker 1: fifteen of twenty. See, I can't read, folks know when
- 12:54Speaker 1: I really screw up. I screw up because I'm reading
- 12:57Speaker 1: stuff and my brain just doesn't function correctly. I tell
- 13:00Speaker 1: my children all the time, I only have a certain
- 13:02Speaker 1: amount of gigs in here. I only have a certain
- 13:04Speaker 1: amount of gigs. And I'm forty eight years old. Matt,
- 13:07Speaker 1: It's almost full. It's almost full up here.
- 13:12Speaker 2: The listeners will be pissed to be like, wait, these
- 13:14Speaker 2: guys are on here talking about how how well Jaylen's played.
- 13:16Speaker 3: He went five but twenty with the hell.
- 13:18Speaker 1: And these guys talk yess, holy crap. Let me revise
- 13:24Speaker 1: my remarks, folks. Here fifteen of twenty for one hundred
- 13:28Speaker 1: and seventy nine yards, he averaged nine yards per attempt
- 13:33Speaker 1: and again four touchdowns. He ended with a rating of
- 13:35Speaker 1: one hundred and forty one point five. We don't need prolific.
- 13:39Speaker 1: We need a quarterback who is poised, and a quarterback
- 13:43Speaker 1: who is mature, a quarterback who is wise. That is
- 13:48Speaker 1: what Jalen Hurts has become. We don't need freaking three
- 13:52Speaker 1: hundred and fifty yards per game on thirty five attempts.
- 13:55Speaker 1: We just don't need that from him, because he is
- 13:58Speaker 1: putting this offense in good positions time and time again,
- 14:01Speaker 1: we're seeing it.
- 14:03Speaker 3: Shout out to.
- 14:04Speaker 2: One of my favorite folks who do who I haven't
- 14:07Speaker 2: had a chance yet to speak with, Ruben Frank, who
- 14:10Speaker 2: does what we do, but at than me a higher level. Yes, Frank,
- 14:15Speaker 2: he's gonna put together these stats, but Jalen Hurts. You
- 14:19Speaker 2: put together the one fifty eight point three and then
- 14:23Speaker 2: the one forty one.
- 14:25Speaker 3: Point five today in a three week stretch. I mean,
- 14:29Speaker 3: I don't know how.
- 14:30Speaker 2: Often I've seen guys get I mean I've seen obo
- 14:33Speaker 2: one hundred. Obviously people will average way over one hundred.
- 14:36Speaker 2: But if you're getting in that one thirties, you know
- 14:39Speaker 2: that type of passing proficiency and then getting guys in
- 14:44Speaker 2: the end zone. Four touchdowns this week, three touchdowns last week.
- 14:48Speaker 3: Yep.
- 14:48Speaker 2: That you know he's going to be mentioned in some
- 14:51Speaker 2: on some interesting lists and that's going to break some brains.
- 14:55Speaker 3: It's gonna be absolutely is Yes.
- 14:58Speaker 1: Well, another another theme here as well, and of course
- 15:04Speaker 1: we know that the officiating has been horrible this year
- 15:07Speaker 1: in general. I just wanted to mention on both sides
- 15:09Speaker 1: of the ball.
- 15:10Speaker 3: It had.
- 15:12Speaker 1: It had to be man, it has to be mentioned.
- 15:14Speaker 1: It's just week after week after week. It never ceases
- 15:18Speaker 1: to amaze me. And look, I know, folks, you know
- 15:20Speaker 1: the it's bigger, stronger, faster. This game is incredible. I
- 15:24Speaker 1: couldn't imagine doing it myself. But the fact of the
- 15:27Speaker 1: matter is these guys get paid a decent chunk of
- 15:29Speaker 1: money and they have training in order to know what
- 15:31Speaker 1: they are looking for and what they need to see
- 15:34Speaker 1: on the field, and time and time again, they get
- 15:37Speaker 1: these close calls that mean a lot in certain game
- 15:41Speaker 1: situations and they're getting it wrong.
- 15:43Speaker 3: And it's it. Have it affected both teams today? Yep.
- 15:48Speaker 3: One second for the listener, I just go, oh, just
- 15:52Speaker 3: plug do it. Do what you need to do to
- 15:54Speaker 3: plug in.
- 15:54Speaker 1: So we're talking about the officiating too, And really, I
- 15:58Speaker 1: think the one one thing also that I mentioned right
- 16:02Speaker 1: off the bat in terms of what I was going
- 16:05Speaker 1: to be looking for in this game, was really going
- 16:09Speaker 1: to be how the pass rush was going to get home.
- 16:13Speaker 1: And we did see that today Because we know the
- 16:15Speaker 1: Eagles have been having trouble week after week with scrambling
- 16:19Speaker 1: quarterbacks getting first downs after you know the opposing offense
- 16:23Speaker 1: needs some big yards. We saw Jackson Dark kill them
- 16:26Speaker 1: a short time ago just getting first down after first
- 16:30Speaker 1: down after first down. It happened a few times today
- 16:32Speaker 1: as well. But in terms of the pass rush, they
- 16:34Speaker 1: ended up getting home five sacks in this game, six
- 16:37Speaker 1: quarterback hits, seven tackles for a loss.
- 16:40Speaker 3: The Eagles defense was on fire here, Matt.
- 16:44Speaker 1: It was wonderful, wonderful to final finally see it now.
- 16:47Speaker 1: I do think if you ask me, there's been an interesting.
- 16:54Speaker 2: Debate going on in the ether is if you can
- 16:57Speaker 2: only get one, do you get a world class maybe
- 17:00Speaker 2: not world class, but top end qurnerback two, or do
- 17:04Speaker 2: you get a top end pass rusher. I go for
- 17:06Speaker 2: pass rusher, yeah, because I think that you can with
- 17:09Speaker 2: a good pass rusher you can mask some of these
- 17:13Speaker 2: defensive wells, especially with a Christian Parker and Vic Fangio.
- 17:17Speaker 3: They know what they're doing, so they can scheme it
- 17:19Speaker 3: up if they can get a guy who can get home.
- 17:21Speaker 2: Because so many times, really you're watching the games and
- 17:24Speaker 2: I'm sure you see it, Jeff, guys are putting pressure
- 17:27Speaker 2: on the quarterbacks. But the frustrating part is so many
- 17:30Speaker 2: times they're letting guys escape out the back door, getting
- 17:33Speaker 2: a hand on guy and not really bringing him to
- 17:36Speaker 2: the ground. So the key in this game there was
- 17:39Speaker 2: a lot of violence and how they were looking to
- 17:41Speaker 2: bring Jackson Dart to the ground. Like there was one
- 17:45Speaker 2: sack in particular where Jalx Hunt kind of grabbed Jackson
- 17:49Speaker 2: Dart by the shoulders as they were both falling to
- 17:52Speaker 2: the ground and slammed them.
- 17:54Speaker 3: Yeah, you know, very strongly. And that's what you got
- 17:57Speaker 3: to do, I mean.
- 17:59Speaker 1: Because when these mobile quarterbacks the choice, you know, otherwise
- 18:04Speaker 1: these guys are running all over.
- 18:06Speaker 3: You and could totally change the game. And like they
- 18:09Speaker 3: like the Giants just saw last week with the bo Knicks.
- 18:12Speaker 3: Bo Nix isn't you know, crazy athletic, but.
- 18:14Speaker 2: He's very you know, he's mobile, like a lot of
- 18:17Speaker 2: these guys, justin Herbert, A lot of these guys, these
- 18:19Speaker 2: quarterbacks you face, are not all like Jalen Hurts, but
- 18:22Speaker 2: you give that quarterback that second life and they'll kill you, yes,
- 18:26Speaker 2: And so you know it's really important to be violent
- 18:30Speaker 2: with the with the takedowns, and that's I was glad
- 18:32Speaker 2: to see that today.
- 18:33Speaker 3: Absolutely.
- 18:34Speaker 1: Jordan Davis had a sack in the second quarter. It
- 18:37Speaker 1: was third sack of the year, which is, believe it
- 18:38Speaker 1: or not, a career high for him. But really, I
- 18:42Speaker 1: mean the Eagles defense, they meant business right out of
- 18:45Speaker 1: the gate. On the Giants opening possession, Zach Bond had
- 18:48Speaker 1: a tackle for a lost Jalx Hunt. He was doing
- 18:50Speaker 1: real well with the pass rush today in fact, but
- 18:54Speaker 1: really quick before we go to break here, Matt and
- 18:56Speaker 1: then get to our grades, grading each unit as we
- 19:00Speaker 1: do every week, I wanted to mention Dallas Goddard too,
- 19:03Speaker 1: because we also talked about who's going to step up
- 19:05Speaker 1: in terms of aj Brown being out. You know, we
- 19:08Speaker 1: talked about Johan Dottson. He was targeted actually twice, came
- 19:12Speaker 1: down with that one touchdown, great catch at the catch point.
- 19:16Speaker 1: But with Dallas Goddard, man when his number is called,
- 19:20Speaker 1: he gets it done. He caught such a great touchdown
- 19:23Speaker 1: pass before the half, and at that point he had
- 19:27Speaker 1: a career six touchdown catches in a season. And then
- 19:31Speaker 1: he had his seventh touchdown pass of the season in
- 19:33Speaker 1: the fourth quarter.
- 19:34Speaker 3: And that's it was beautiful design.
- 19:36Speaker 1: I lovely was that could have been one of the
- 19:38Speaker 1: best Kevin Patulo design plays that I've actually ever seen.
- 19:42Speaker 3: Amazing, and that's it's just.
- 19:43Speaker 2: A slight It's just a slight change because generally that
- 19:47Speaker 2: tight end just goes to the flat and we saw
- 19:49Speaker 2: that a million times, just some McNab play and one
- 19:51Speaker 2: of the McNab specials. You know, you send the full
- 19:54Speaker 2: back or the tight end out and to the flat
- 19:56Speaker 2: and that, and so we sold it that he's going
- 19:58Speaker 2: to the flat and took it up the rail yep,
- 20:00Speaker 2: and Jalen hit him on the inside. It was and
- 20:02Speaker 2: Jalen just put it with the perfect amount of touch.
- 20:04Speaker 2: People got to give some respect some of these throws. Okay,
- 20:08Speaker 2: maybe not all of the throws. Just like any quarterback
- 20:10Speaker 2: are you know, a plus throats. There are some throws
- 20:13Speaker 2: that you really can't say that they're not a plus throats.
- 20:16Speaker 1: Absolutely, You're absolutely right. That was absolutely one of them.
- 20:20Speaker 1: And now Dallas Goddard with his seven touchdowns in eight
- 20:25Speaker 1: games career year, maybe yes, I mean he's had dude,
- 20:29Speaker 1: he had eight touchdowns in thirty six regular season games
- 20:32Speaker 1: from twenty twenty two to twenty twenty four. And he
- 20:36Speaker 1: also has now tied to Sean Jackson for the sixth
- 20:39Speaker 1: most most catches in Eagles history. He's making as he's
- 20:43Speaker 1: made his mark on this franchise, and I absolutely love
- 20:45Speaker 1: seeing it.
- 20:45Speaker 3: So I love it.
- 20:46Speaker 1: Buy do you have any more themes? Before we had
- 20:48Speaker 1: to break and then before we get to our grades.
- 20:51Speaker 2: I did mention the yeah, the we will see the
- 20:55Speaker 2: TV determined in Lambeau how much ad Dyllan's playing. Maybe
- 20:59Speaker 2: they arresting him for the return to Lamba.
- 21:02Speaker 3: Maybe yes, maybe.
- 21:04Speaker 1: I mean we've seen a number of games here where
- 21:07Speaker 1: you know, will Shipley hasn't been getting the ball, you know,
- 21:11Speaker 1: I mean he did have three carries. It only got
- 21:12Speaker 1: two yards out of those three carries, but and it
- 21:15Speaker 1: was towards the end of the game. But they haven't
- 21:17Speaker 1: been using Will Shipley haven't really been using aj Dillon
- 21:20Speaker 1: too too much either. And this this was a game
- 21:23Speaker 1: where I mean Tank's Bigsby I think he had two carries,
- 21:25Speaker 1: two or three last week. So they're finally getting to
- 21:29Speaker 1: the point where they're like, all right, Saquon Barkley had
- 21:31Speaker 1: fourteen carries for one hundred and fifty yards. I guess
- 21:33Speaker 1: we should start giving the other running backs some you know,
- 21:36Speaker 1: some opportunities here. You know, why trade for somebody with
- 21:39Speaker 1: two draft picks if you're not going to utilize them
- 21:41Speaker 1: in the offense and at least give them. Uh, you
- 21:44Speaker 1: know he had nine carries in this game.
- 21:46Speaker 3: Some opportunity. Absolutely, I got one more theme? Yeah, really quick.
- 21:50Speaker 3: We don't have to dwell on it too long. But
- 21:53Speaker 3: regression to the mean is it is a theme? Folks?
- 21:56Speaker 3: Oh yeah, if.
- 21:57Speaker 2: Things are going if things are going too poorly in life,
- 22:01Speaker 2: things are going to look up for you. If things
- 22:03Speaker 2: are going too well, just just understand that they're not
- 22:07Speaker 2: always going to go so well. I say that because
- 22:09Speaker 2: sometimes aj Brown, you know, you go two games in
- 22:12Speaker 2: a row, no, you know with six targets, and the
- 22:16Speaker 2: next two weeks you might have twenty five targets and
- 22:19Speaker 2: have four touchdowns. Say Kwon Barkley today, his his team
- 22:25Speaker 2: spirit shines through. He got to one fifty, nice brown number.
- 22:30Speaker 2: All right, get the get get Bigsby in there. I
- 22:32Speaker 2: don't really got it. I gave him the first try
- 22:34Speaker 2: to take it to the crib. Now let's get biggs
- 22:37Speaker 2: b in there. Let him let him go get one
- 22:38Speaker 2: hundred and so regression to the mean, folks, You know
- 22:42Speaker 2: AJ Brown and being frustrated. There's there's reason to be
- 22:45Speaker 2: frustrated because you want to see us to be able
- 22:47Speaker 2: to put teams away, especially in these things. You don't
- 22:50Speaker 2: want people to be able to talk crazy about AJ
- 22:52Speaker 2: Brown or Jalen Hurts. But also, you know, when you
- 22:56Speaker 2: are a superstar like these guys are, if you have
- 23:00Speaker 2: a rough game, you'll be back. Jamar Chase has games
- 23:03Speaker 2: where you get blanked. Jerry Rice had games where he
- 23:05Speaker 2: got blank. Tarrell Owens, Randy Moss aj You're gonna be back.
- 23:09Speaker 2: If you're listening, if somebody passed it a lot to
- 23:11Speaker 2: regression to the mean, remember resolutely. And then when you're
- 23:15Speaker 2: going through those two weeks where you got, you know,
- 23:17Speaker 2: thirty one targets, or three weeks thirty one targets, four
- 23:20Speaker 2: weeks thirty one targets. Maybe in the next two weeks
- 23:24Speaker 2: maybe you have eight targets. Because other people got to
- 23:27Speaker 2: get their opportunities too, and you being the superstar. It's
- 23:30Speaker 2: not just a decoy. I mean, it really changes things
- 23:34Speaker 2: for folks.
- 23:34Speaker 1: I think that's hard to the means a theme that
- 23:36Speaker 1: is a that is a fantastic theme. Matt to take
- 23:39Speaker 1: us not only to the break but right here in
- 23:41Speaker 1: week eight, like that is a fantastic theme for us
- 23:44Speaker 1: in the Eagles Nation to keep in mind as we
- 23:46Speaker 1: still have a lot more games and this team has
- 23:49Speaker 1: a lot more games to play, and we've got a
- 23:50Speaker 1: lot more games to go through and to watch and
- 23:54Speaker 1: to you know, just be connected with this team in
- 23:57Speaker 1: a lot of different ways. The regression to the mean man,
- 24:00Speaker 1: that is a fantastic theme. It really is, as we're
- 24:03Speaker 1: going to be going to break here and as we
- 24:06Speaker 1: conclude week eight. So with that being said, folks, again
- 24:09Speaker 1: we're talking to Matt Rogers the Honorable mentioned podcast. He's

- 25:05Speaker 1: a break here, folks. When we get back, we're gonna
- 25:07Speaker 1: do our grades. I think there's gonna be a lot
- 25:08Speaker 1: of a's, Matt, I got a feeling, buddy, there's gonna
- 25:11Speaker 1: be a lot of a's.
- 25:12Speaker 3: But folks, we're gonna be back in just a bit.
- 25:16Speaker 3: All right.
- 25:17Speaker 1: We are back with our good friend Matt Rodgers from
- 25:19Speaker 1: the Honorable Mention podcast, and we're gonna get into our
- 25:22Speaker 1: grades by unit as. We are still digesting this win,
- 25:27Speaker 1: the Eagles beating the New York Giants by score thirty
- 25:30Speaker 1: eight to twenty.
- 25:31Speaker 3: The quarterback position, Jalen Hurts getting an.
- 25:33Speaker 4: A plus plus plus plus plus plus from me, What
- 25:37Speaker 4: do you give him?
- 25:38Speaker 3: That? Well?
- 25:38Speaker 2: How did what did you think Jeff about the technique
- 25:42Speaker 2: on Tanner McKee's victory formation.
- 25:46Speaker 3: Did he get under center? I liked it? It was
- 25:49Speaker 3: fine by me. I enjoyed watching it. Yes, I'll give
- 25:54Speaker 3: him an A plus two. So we're going to round
- 25:55Speaker 3: that one out with an A plus on the day.
- 25:57Speaker 3: Then let's just let's just stick the landing on that one. Okay,
- 26:00Speaker 3: sounds good.
- 26:01Speaker 1: Move to the running back position A plus plus plus
- 26:03Speaker 1: plus plus plus again. Oh my gosh, when Tank Bigsby
- 26:11Speaker 1: is doing that, and when you are gashing the New
- 26:13Speaker 1: York Giants defense the way that they did, Sakuon Barkley
- 26:16Speaker 1: with one hundred and fifty yards, Tank Bigsby with one
- 26:19Speaker 1: hundred and four yards. Jalen Hurts had twenty two yards
- 26:22Speaker 1: in this game. Will Shipley, like I mentioned earlier, only
- 26:24Speaker 1: had two yards, but really two hundred and seventy six
- 26:27Speaker 1: total rushing yards in this game and coming from the
- 26:30Speaker 1: running backs. My gosh, just it's a plus all round, absolutely.
- 26:35Speaker 3: And I love and I uh, I love.
- 26:38Speaker 2: I'll get I'll get to this later, I'll remember, I'll
- 26:40Speaker 2: pin it because it's it's it pertains to another group.
- 26:44Speaker 1: So let's okay, all right, sounds good. Let's move to
- 26:47Speaker 1: the wide receivers and tight ends. So the receivers in general,
- 26:51Speaker 1: I'm gonna be giving them an a plus as well.
- 26:53Speaker 1: They did I think everything that they needed to do
- 26:56Speaker 1: in this game, and like we talked about before the break,
- 26:58Speaker 1: there were guys on this team from a receiving perspective
- 27:01Speaker 1: who stepped up to the plate big time. Dallas got
- 27:04Speaker 1: her two touchdowns. Saquon Barkley with a receiving touchdown, Jehan
- 27:07Speaker 1: Dotson with a receiving touchdown. DeVante Smith targeted nine times,
- 27:12Speaker 1: caught six balls for eighty four yards, the average fourteen
- 27:15Speaker 1: yards per reception. I think the receivers did a fantastic
- 27:17Speaker 1: job on the day. I give him an a plus.
- 27:19Speaker 1: What do you give them?
- 27:21Speaker 2: Yeah, I really liked I really liked it today. I
- 27:24Speaker 2: also like getting some looks from Darius Cooper too. I
- 27:27Speaker 2: like the looks that the Giants maybe other teams won't yep,
- 27:31Speaker 2: some of the some of the coverages. I was wondering
- 27:33Speaker 2: whether we get to see a jump ball from Darius Cooper.
- 27:36Speaker 3: That would have been really exciting.
- 27:37Speaker 1: That would have been fun. That would have been fun.
- 27:38Speaker 1: But hey, the pass interference call will take it right.
- 27:42Speaker 3: It was very good. Yes, he can't argue with a
- 27:44Speaker 3: plus today.
- 27:45Speaker 1: Nope, offensive line, folks, in my book, not going to
- 27:49Speaker 1: get necessarily an A plus. But I think it is
- 27:51Speaker 1: the first time that we are that I am going
- 27:53Speaker 1: to give an a grade. It's going to be an
- 27:55Speaker 1: A minus for the offensive line. Agreed and go, Yeah,
- 27:58Speaker 1: it goes to what we were talking about early.
- 28:00Speaker 3: Man. They needed to step up.
- 28:01Speaker 1: They needed to provide this offense, not just with pass
- 28:04Speaker 1: protection for Jalen Hurts, but to get that running game going.
- 28:08Speaker 3: We certainly saw that. I give him a minus. What
- 28:09Speaker 3: do you give him, buddy? Yeah, I really like I
- 28:12Speaker 3: really liked.
- 28:13Speaker 1: Uh.
- 28:14Speaker 2: Yeah, the A minus is a good grade. I really
- 28:16Speaker 2: liked seeing at the end of the game. You know,
- 28:18Speaker 2: there were just plays where you know, sexy Dex He's
- 28:20Speaker 2: walking over to the sideline. It just worn out, wear
- 28:25Speaker 2: his ass out.
- 28:26Speaker 3: I loved it. It was absolutely wonderful.
- 28:29Speaker 2: There were a couple of you know, just just they
- 28:32Speaker 2: can't improve absolutely here, I think, And it is something
- 28:37Speaker 2: It says a lot about what we think about this team.
- 28:39Speaker 2: That tank bigsby again, I would keep saying it. I
- 28:42Speaker 2: probably will say another four times, folks. So I'm sorry
- 28:45Speaker 2: for the folks who are tied.
- 28:47Speaker 1: I can't wait Yeah, I can't wait to hear him
- 28:50Speaker 1: say tank bigs me while we're talking about the defense.
- 28:51Speaker 3: I can't wait to see how he dovetails that one
- 28:55Speaker 3: that's gonna be.
- 28:57Speaker 2: One of nine for one oh four and and then
- 29:00Speaker 2: I really love This is what I was going to
- 29:02Speaker 2: speak on earlier, is that Jordan My lot of interviews
- 29:06Speaker 2: this week leading up to the game was talking about
- 29:08Speaker 2: how he really put a you know, this is an
- 29:10Speaker 2: important game to him some you know, Nick talks a
- 29:13Speaker 2: lot of times throughout the week. His point of view
- 29:16Speaker 2: is you should take, you know, the same intensity to
- 29:19Speaker 2: every week. But if certain guys needed edge, then that's
- 29:23Speaker 2: what it needs. I think Jordan Alta needed that edge
- 29:25Speaker 2: this week, and some some players do. Some players some
- 29:29Speaker 2: players can just you know, about their business and they
- 29:31Speaker 2: do what they do, and some players need a little fire.
- 29:34Speaker 2: Jordan Alta needed that fire today and he called He
- 29:36Speaker 2: called the game. Two weeks ago, he had the worst
- 29:38Speaker 2: game of his career, and so it's important for him
- 29:41Speaker 2: today go into this buy running into the Packers, who
- 29:45Speaker 2: people have in the preseason we're talking about had they
- 29:48Speaker 2: already caught up to the Eagles opportunity to go seven
- 29:51Speaker 2: and two walking out of Lambeau in a couple of weeks.
- 29:54Speaker 2: So really important and it's going to ride on once again.
- 29:57Speaker 2: This Eagles offensive line, I think is sort of short
- 30:01Speaker 2: of the quarterback position, the most important unit on this team. Yeah,
- 30:06Speaker 2: they ride this offensive line to push it all to
- 30:11Speaker 2: where they're gonna go, and so so important that they
- 30:14Speaker 2: really got the ship right, because really, Jalen played threw
- 30:17Speaker 2: the ball well enough. Had they not been road grading folks,
- 30:20Speaker 2: sorry to you know, draw this one out of a
- 30:22Speaker 2: little more Jelia, Jeff, But had they not been road
- 30:25Speaker 2: grading on folks in this game, then I think the
- 30:29Speaker 2: Eagles still could have won this game. But you don't
- 30:31Speaker 2: feel as good going into the Bux.
- 30:34Speaker 1: And then the narrative, Yeah, the narrative with the buy
- 30:36Speaker 1: would have been un just horrendous. From Philly thirty seven.
- 30:41Speaker 2: Thirty eighty Yeah yeah, yeah, they win thirty seven to
- 30:43Speaker 2: thirty eight over the Giants.
- 30:45Speaker 3: Yeah, that would have been terrible. It would have been terrible.
- 30:47Speaker 1: But our pride, man, dude, let's let's let's talk about
- 30:50Speaker 1: the defensive unit now, and specifically the defensive line in terms.
- 30:54Speaker 3: Of our grade.
- 30:55Speaker 1: I think when you look at Jlex Hunt, moro Ojomo,
- 30:58Speaker 1: Jordan Davis, and Jalen Carter. They had the best game
- 31:01Speaker 1: so far of the season. Each guy I think had
- 31:05Speaker 1: to tackle for a loss, each guy had a quarterback
- 31:08Speaker 1: hit where each guy I think had a sack as well.
- 31:12Speaker 1: So you are looking at a defensive line that was
- 31:16Speaker 1: able to get home and do what we wanted them
- 31:18Speaker 1: to do in this game. So I'm gonna I'm gonna
- 31:21Speaker 1: give the defensive line and a minus.
- 31:22Speaker 3: Actually this week, what do you give them? I agree?
- 31:26Speaker 3: I think I when I'm watching Morow, Moro this year
- 31:31Speaker 3: is not looking as good as Moro. I don't know.
- 31:34Speaker 2: Maybe people are no to slide over to him more
- 31:37Speaker 2: So now when I'm watching Morow, I feel like I
- 31:40Speaker 2: want to see more Ty Robinson and Maroo had a
- 31:43Speaker 2: good game today. Moro Jomo, But I think I want
- 31:46Speaker 2: to see more Ty Robinson. I'm gonna give him a
- 31:48Speaker 2: B plus.
- 31:49Speaker 3: Okay.
- 31:50Speaker 2: I am sick of seeing guys slip out of their grasp. Yeah,
- 31:54Speaker 2: And I don't know how duplicable this effort is. Because
- 31:58Speaker 2: this Giants wide receiver corps without neighbors, you know, it's
- 32:05Speaker 2: not dependable. So you know in this one two three,
- 32:08Speaker 2: let it go one two three, let it go type
- 32:10Speaker 2: in offense. Yeah, Jackson was looking to hold it and
- 32:13Speaker 2: so he presents opportunities for sacks. Just like the number
- 32:18Speaker 2: eleven guy who almost want an MVP for the Eagles
- 32:21Speaker 2: last week. He's a guy who holds the football, mister Wentz. Yes,
- 32:24Speaker 2: and so it presents opportunities for lesser than defensive lines
- 32:29Speaker 2: to go and get sacks. Yes, and so I think
- 32:34Speaker 2: I think they had less of an uphill climb this
- 32:36Speaker 2: week because of the style of offense and the weapons
- 32:40Speaker 2: that aren't there for the Giants. So I just don't
- 32:41Speaker 2: want to get too carried away. I think that they
- 32:44Speaker 2: played well today. I just don't know how duplicable this
- 32:47Speaker 2: effort is, and I do want to see some more
- 32:49Speaker 2: Ty Robinson.
- 32:50Speaker 1: Yeah, do you think they had less of an uphill
- 32:53Speaker 1: climb today? Also because of what happened to Cam Skataboo
- 32:57Speaker 1: going down. Absolutely, I got to tell your Jackson Dart yet.
- 33:01Speaker 1: But Jackson Dart became a different quarterback when his go
- 33:05Speaker 1: to guy, his friend, the person that he has been
- 33:08Speaker 1: dependent on now for these past four weeks, went down.
- 33:12Speaker 1: There was a sizeable uh, just the the concentration level.
- 33:19Speaker 1: Perhaps it was just it was just completely different with
- 33:22Speaker 1: Jackson Dart when Cam Skataboo went down, and I think
- 33:25Speaker 1: that was part of why the defensive line was able
- 33:27Speaker 1: to produce also at the level they were able to
- 33:30Speaker 1: produce today.
- 33:31Speaker 2: And he was looking to make the big play and
- 33:34Speaker 2: so you know he would evade one guy, but he's
- 33:37Speaker 2: still look looking deep downfield and another couple of guys
- 33:40Speaker 2: again him. So you know, I don't I don't want
- 33:43Speaker 2: to rain on a great game. You know, a bunch
- 33:46Speaker 2: of guys with opportunities highlight stuff.
- 33:48Speaker 3: They'll you know, they'll never forget. I don't want to
- 33:51Speaker 3: downplay that. I just say I don't want anybody to
- 33:54Speaker 3: walk away from this game.
- 33:56Speaker 2: Maybe who with the last name Roseman and think, hey,
- 34:00Speaker 2: maybe I don't need to make a move, because hell, yeah,
- 34:02Speaker 2: you do need to make a move at this Yes, yes.
- 34:05Speaker 1: And thirty seven year old BG, who I don't think
- 34:08Speaker 1: got us. I didn't see him have a snap today.
- 34:11Speaker 3: I don't think he was active to today.
- 34:13Speaker 1: Actually I do not think he was active, okay, because
- 34:16Speaker 1: I didn't think I saw him on the field.
- 34:17Speaker 3: He will be in addition, and it's good he will.
- 34:20Speaker 3: I think he will get sacks.
- 34:22Speaker 1: He's not the move though, right, You're absolutely correct, absolutely correct.
- 34:27Speaker 1: Let's move to the linebackers here, and I gotta say,
- 34:29Speaker 1: I'm giving I'm giving the linebackers or an a plus
- 34:33Speaker 1: because I just think have it. And yes, Nakobe Dean
- 34:36Speaker 1: give up. He did give up a big reception, which
- 34:41Speaker 1: which he kind of perfectly he did.
- 34:43Speaker 3: He did.
- 34:44Speaker 1: And quite frankly, the tackles for loss that that Kobe
- 34:47Speaker 1: Dean had in this game, there was all him just
- 34:52Speaker 1: blowing up plays.
- 34:53Speaker 3: Zach Bond.
- 34:54Speaker 1: Zach Baond at this point, Okay, his six total tackles,
- 34:58Speaker 1: one sack, two tackles for a law, two passes defended
- 35:01Speaker 1: in this game and a quarterback's ridiculous. It's Madden stuff.
- 35:05Speaker 1: I genuinely believe he's going to potentially be the best
- 35:09Speaker 1: Eagles linebacker of all times. And that's saying something because
- 35:11Speaker 1: Seth Joyner is up there, you know, really, I mean,
- 35:14Speaker 1: Seth Joyner's up there. Jeremiah Trotter is certainly up there.
- 35:18Speaker 1: You know, William Thomas is up there. But like we're
- 35:21Speaker 1: getting to that point with Zach Bond where he is
- 35:25Speaker 1: on he's if he continues to have seasons like this
- 35:29Speaker 1: like he had last year. And he's having this year.
- 35:31Speaker 1: He's going to be in that conversation for one of
- 35:33Speaker 1: the best Eagles linebackers of all time.
- 35:36Speaker 2: Because he's on his way to All Pro this year. Yes,
- 35:41Speaker 2: I mean incredible what linebacker's playing. And it's crazy. Since
- 35:45Speaker 2: we are talking about linebackers, I found it notable that
- 35:49Speaker 2: Nakobe Dean was in a lot of times and Johan
- 35:51Speaker 2: Campbell was on the sideline, not edge rushing, and Nakobe
- 35:55Speaker 2: Dean was on the field, Campbell was on the sideline.
- 35:58Speaker 2: So that says a lot about what they think of
- 36:00Speaker 2: about this team because they picked John Campbell high and
- 36:02Speaker 2: they're not.
- 36:03Speaker 3: I don't think they're down.
- 36:04Speaker 1: On johdkamp No, I don't think so. I just think
- 36:06Speaker 1: they're up on to Kobe Dean and his football IQ.
- 36:09Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 36:09Speaker 1: Absolutely, physicality absolutely, All right, Well, let's move to the secondary.
- 36:14Speaker 1: This is a secondary that gave up one hundred and
- 36:16Speaker 1: ninety three yards receiving in general. Wandeale Robinson only had
- 36:21Speaker 1: forty eight yards. Devin Singletary had twenty eight yards, Darius
- 36:24Speaker 1: Slayton twenty six yards, Daniel Bellinger twenty one yards. The
- 36:29Speaker 1: receiving corp the New York Giants didn't have a great day,
- 36:32Speaker 1: and it was because the secondary played some lights out football.
- 36:36Speaker 1: So and granted the Giants receivers certainly aren't the greatest
- 36:40Speaker 1: receivers in the world, but you wanted to see the
- 36:43Speaker 1: secondary really come together like they did today. I give
- 36:45Speaker 1: him an A plus.
- 36:46Speaker 3: What do you give them? I'll go with an A minus.
- 36:50Speaker 2: There were a couple just I mean, Jackson Dark I
- 36:53Speaker 2: have one throw on my mind in particularly when we
- 36:55Speaker 2: talk about this. There was the throw up the rail
- 36:58Speaker 2: when they're going off the left side of the the
- 37:02Speaker 2: and the tight end drops it as we yes, he
- 37:05Speaker 2: dropped it, and then we you know, would have separated
- 37:08Speaker 2: potentially separated them from the ball.
- 37:10Speaker 3: Yes, but there were there were opportunities that it was like, ah,
- 37:14Speaker 3: that could have been game changers.
- 37:16Speaker 2: Yeah, I think this is has been that this today
- 37:20Speaker 2: was the best game of the secondary season.
- 37:22Speaker 1: And so I'll stay in the A range. But I
- 37:26Speaker 1: don't want to I don't want to act like they were.
- 37:28Speaker 1: You know, Stefan Gilmour and Darrell Reaves out there.
- 37:31Speaker 3: All right, sounds good, man, sounds good? All right?
- 37:35Speaker 1: Special teams. Let's grade special teams first kick return of
- 37:39Speaker 1: the game. One of the members of special teams didn't
- 37:41Speaker 1: line up correctly. It was a penalty. Jake Elliott missed
- 37:44Speaker 1: a fifty eight yarder today. He made all his other
- 37:49Speaker 1: field goals and special points. Will Shipley though boy a
- 37:52Speaker 1: nice forty one yard kick return in the first quarter.
- 37:55Speaker 1: Then he had a thirty two yard return in the
- 37:57Speaker 1: second half. I'm gonna get I'm gonna give over all
- 38:00Speaker 1: special teams of B this week.
- 38:01Speaker 3: What do you give them? Yeah? I B B plus
- 38:07Speaker 3: I think too.
- 38:09Speaker 2: B plus Yeah, more, because they did more than do
- 38:12Speaker 2: no harm really, because you just did they did? You know,
- 38:16Speaker 2: I just need them to play C plus generally to
- 38:19Speaker 2: be good. They did better than that. I mean, they
- 38:21Speaker 2: really set us up in good ways. I mean, Jake,
- 38:24Speaker 2: you did have the miss from Jake. That's a long
- 38:26Speaker 2: field goal try. So I'm not really mad at him
- 38:29Speaker 2: for the fifty eight. I'm not really counting that against
- 38:32Speaker 2: their grade too much. Okay, okay, more B B plus
- 38:36Speaker 2: So so we're in the same range.
- 38:37Speaker 1: Sounds good. Vic Fangio, I think called a fantastic game.
- 38:40Speaker 1: I'm going to be giving him an A this week,
- 38:42Speaker 1: straight up. A.
- 38:42Speaker 3: What do you give him? I loved it, I love
- 38:45Speaker 3: I love the game.
- 38:46Speaker 2: Plan. I want to see more again, requests Vic if
- 38:49Speaker 2: you're listening, Uh, uh more Jihid Campbell straight up edge,
- 38:55Speaker 2: let's see maybe try to see him with his hand
- 38:57Speaker 2: in the dirt in the game. Some you guys play
- 38:59Speaker 2: differently than they do in practice. When they're out there
- 39:02Speaker 2: and they get to knock the hell out of somebody,
- 39:03Speaker 2: he's not worried about hurt and potentially Jordan my Lot
- 39:07Speaker 2: or you know, somebody who the Eagles really care about.
- 39:09Speaker 3: I want to see him more with his hand in
- 39:11Speaker 3: the dirt maybe to help this.
- 39:13Speaker 2: If Joha Campbell can be that guy, maybe you don't
- 39:15Speaker 2: have to make a move at at pass rushers. So
- 39:18Speaker 2: I want to see more of that and Ty Robinson.
- 39:20Speaker 2: But I think today was excellent. Uh, guy's not getting cooked.
- 39:24Speaker 2: Kiey Ringo, no tweet, I mean, do we see any
- 39:27Speaker 2: tweets anything about?
- 39:29Speaker 4: No, no, no, I don't know what was happening. I
- 39:34Speaker 4: guess he was playing good football. I don't know. I
- 39:38Speaker 4: don't know.
- 39:40Speaker 3: Goodness like when they don't call your name, you're doing great? Yes, absolutely,
- 39:45Speaker 3: all right?
- 39:46Speaker 1: Well, Kevin Patulo, Nick Sirianni, I'm gonna be giving these
- 39:49Speaker 1: guys in a this week. I think it was Kevin
- 39:51Speaker 1: Petullo's best game of the season. I mean, the offense
- 39:56Speaker 1: was the offense was rolling today.
- 39:58Speaker 3: It really was.
- 39:59Speaker 1: There a few cups here and there, like there is
- 40:01Speaker 1: in every game of professional football. There were hiccups. But
- 40:05Speaker 1: you know, given the fact that Aj Brown was not
- 40:07Speaker 1: on the field, given the fact that this needed to
- 40:10Speaker 1: be another quote get right game, especially in terms of
- 40:12Speaker 1: the offensive line and the rushing attack, and it actually happened.
- 40:16Speaker 1: And then some because of who Tank Pigsby with his
- 40:20Speaker 1: nine rushes for one hundred and four yards.
- 40:22Speaker 3: See I said it, but I really loved it. It was.
- 40:27Speaker 1: It was definitely a great game plan overall. I'm giving
- 40:31Speaker 1: them an A what do you give them?
- 40:33Speaker 2: Yeah, I gotta give him an A plus. I mean,
- 40:34Speaker 2: this is a big spot. It's really important for the
- 40:37Speaker 2: for the for the mojo of his team.
- 40:39Speaker 3: That and and with all.
- 40:41Speaker 2: Respect to to to Aj Brown, who's an important part
- 40:44Speaker 2: of this team. It was important for Aj Brown to
- 40:46Speaker 2: see to be standing on the sideline with his towel
- 40:49Speaker 2: and under the hoodie as he was watching, just like
- 40:54Speaker 2: when t O got to watch.
- 40:55Speaker 3: The Eagles go to the Super Bowl.
- 40:57Speaker 2: Abe, you are an important part of this team. But
- 41:00Speaker 2: we can win and and be excellent without you. Yes,
- 41:05Speaker 2: And it's not that we want to be excellent without you,
- 41:09Speaker 2: but you are. You're not gonna alone dictate the success
- 41:14Speaker 2: of this team, the mojo of this team. I think
- 41:16Speaker 2: it was so important. No one's ever gonna say it
- 41:19Speaker 2: in the media. It goes unsaid, but that was put
- 41:23Speaker 2: out there our biggest offensive output in a while.
- 41:26Speaker 3: I don't remember the last.
- 41:27Speaker 2: Time Jalen threw for four touchdowns, and I don't know
- 41:30Speaker 2: if he ever threw for four touchdowns without aj on
- 41:33Speaker 2: the field.
- 41:34Speaker 3: All the questions, all the discussion, and it's implicit in
- 41:36Speaker 3: the discussion that Jalen's just not good enough. So he
- 41:39Speaker 3: knows this is all about him at the end of
- 41:41Speaker 3: the day. And so in the biggest spot, you dial
- 41:45Speaker 3: it up. Jayalen throws for four Sacon's got one fifty.
- 41:49Speaker 3: Let Tank go off for nine for one forty eight plus.
- 41:53Speaker 4: I love plus get that, wonder that getting that last
- 41:57Speaker 4: that last tank nine for one.
