A tragic road collision claimed the life of 27-year-old Tommy Hunter, who was walking home drunk and unsteady, stepping into the path of a speeding Pontiac Firebird driven by 27-year-old Brandon Beesla. The driver had only seconds to react — and couldn’t avoid hitting him. Found 30+ hours later in a hedge, Hunter’s last words to his partner were heartbreaking: “You can explain to him why he hasn’t got a dad.” Beesla was charged with dangerous driving, fined $2,000, banned from driving for a year, and ordered to pay court costs and a victim surcharge.
