- 0:55Speaker 3: Took this long here into Game sixty six, but for
- 0:58Speaker 3: the first time all season, the Kraken will square off
- 1:01Speaker 3: against Tampa Bay, who is making a push right now
- 1:04Speaker 3: for top spot in the Atlantic Division. Those suffering a
- 1:07Speaker 3: bit with just three wins in their last ten games,
- 1:11Speaker 3: the Kraken they'll have found Tampa Bay an extremely tough
- 1:14Speaker 3: matchup and they'll have some motivation on their site coming
- 1:18Speaker 3: back in with Yanni Gordon and Oliver By Yorkstrand do
- 1:21Speaker 3: to make their return to Climb and Pledge Arena for
- 1:24Speaker 3: the first time since they were sent to Tampa Bay
- 1:27Speaker 3: at last year's trade deadline. Gordon making his stop in
- 1:30Speaker 3: Tampa Bay the second of his career, of course, a
- 1:34Speaker 3: big piece of their back to back runs to a
- 1:36Speaker 3: Stanley Cup championship at the beginning of this past decade.
- 1:40Speaker 3: So certainly familiar faces taking center stage. That plus and
- 1:44Speaker 3: Pacific Northwest flair as well. Age Gon solves former Reverence
- 1:48Speaker 3: Silver Tip. Now apart of a top line here for
- 1:51Speaker 3: the Tampa Bay Lightning, inclusive of a player making a
- 1:54Speaker 3: hard run right now for not just a scoring title,
- 1:57Speaker 3: but for the Heart Trophy. Additionally, in the to Koucharov
- 2:01Speaker 3: to talk more about that, Greg Lenelli right around the corner.
- 2:04Speaker 3: He's the host for the Tampa Bay Lightning Audio Network.
- 2:07Speaker 3: We'll get to Greg's thoughts here on the lightning in
- 2:09Speaker 3: just a bit. Also here from Cracking forward Ryan Winterton,
- 2:13Speaker 3: with the Kraken coming off a six to two blowout
- 2:16Speaker 3: win over the Florida Panthers back on Sunday night, and
- 2:20Speaker 3: that got them back into a wildcard spot. They wake
- 2:23Speaker 3: up today in a tie for that final wildcard spot,
- 2:26Speaker 3: where you can certainly feel the crunch of crunch time,
- 2:29Speaker 3: with sixteen games remaining on the regular season slave for
- 2:32Speaker 3: the Krack inside and just five home games left after tonight.
- 2:37Speaker 3: Before we get to Ryan Winterton and Greg Lenelli, here's
- 2:40Speaker 3: a recap of what happened back on Sunday evening, with
- 2:42Speaker 3: a Kraken looking to make a statement in period one
- 2:46Speaker 3: and depth scoring ready to give the Panthers all they
- 2:50Speaker 3: could handle.
- 2:50Speaker 4: A hold the line here, get through toward the goal
- 2:53Speaker 4: right side that one knocked down, he sits.
- 2:54Speaker 2: Again, tip dead, Ben Myers.
- 3:03Speaker 4: Right circle shot and the Seattle Kracking strike first.
- 3:07Speaker 2: Evans with the blast, Ben.
- 3:09Speaker 4: Myers the redirection home and the Seattle Kracket take a
- 3:14Speaker 4: one nothing lead with fourteen thirty two to play in
- 3:17Speaker 4: the first.
- 3:18Speaker 5: I was controlled from the top of the circus. Are
- 3:20Speaker 5: going to put that buck back on it? It deflected
- 3:23Speaker 5: off of something and it got to Ben Myers who
- 3:26Speaker 5: was parked on top of the blue paint.
- 3:28Speaker 2: It goes off Myers into the back of the dad.
- 3:30Speaker 5: It'll be his goal.
- 3:31Speaker 2: One doofy grown Seattle rise it up for Seattle.
- 3:34Speaker 6: Copo cocko, what a poll the back hand on and
- 3:37Speaker 6: a mass of safe right out of tap store.
- 3:46Speaker 4: Copo cocko, teaking the Panthers defense out of their braezers.
- 3:52Speaker 2: The first shot knocked down Berkeley. Catton follows up the play.
- 3:56Speaker 2: It's a two nothing Seattle lead. Eight O eight to
- 4:00Speaker 2: play the.
- 4:01Speaker 5: First we Capocaco down the middle undresses three Panthers.
- 4:05Speaker 2: Everybody's got their focus on him.
- 4:07Speaker 5: He makes a great move, tries to tries to beat
- 4:11Speaker 5: the tender and his cabinet comes in that finds the
- 4:14Speaker 5: rebound in front, buries.
- 4:15Speaker 2: It to nothing.
- 4:17Speaker 4: Seattle want to start four o' cracker Jen left side
- 4:21Speaker 4: hands it off.
- 4:22Speaker 6: Now Meer shouts off the indside of the bus straight
- 4:25Speaker 6: out s the fourth line does it again, Ryan Winter
- 4:35Speaker 6: ten crashing the goal and the crackad back up two.
- 4:39Speaker 2: It's three to one, ninety six seconds to play.
- 4:43Speaker 5: The first well right Winderdy gets a great feet on
- 4:45Speaker 5: this rush high in the slot and he rips a
- 4:48Speaker 5: wrist shot off the bar.
- 4:50Speaker 2: Ben Myer's on the backside of the net to find it.
- 4:52Speaker 2: He puts it home. Three one crack a smart side.
- 4:56Speaker 4: Vince Done steps a ton Offsbrango now got on He's.
- 5:00Speaker 2: Not going front his shot, s.
- 5:08Speaker 4: Cocko, Cocko, what's the crack? In on top by a
- 5:13Speaker 4: four to one score, sixteen forty to play in a second.
- 5:17Speaker 3: Well.
- 5:17Speaker 5: Coach Lee Lambert talked about Coppo Cocko's game lay lately.
- 5:21Speaker 2: He likes how he's battling for pucks. He likes how
- 5:23Speaker 2: he's going to the net.
- 5:24Speaker 5: He gets this pucked below the goal lines the side
- 5:27Speaker 5: of the dead it starts charging to the blue paint.
- 5:30Speaker 5: He comes all the way around, beats Terrastop cracking up.
- 5:34Speaker 2: Four side for shine right, took a tumble, got it up.
- 5:37Speaker 2: That's over it now Cocko cock going to stop macbet s.
- 5:47Speaker 2: Welcome to Seattle. Bobby mcmahd his third goal in kracking
- 5:53Speaker 2: covers his first under our roof. It's a five to
- 5:57Speaker 2: one Seattle cracking lead. Oh.
- 6:00Speaker 5: It was a great pass out from Toulvinen out to
- 6:03Speaker 5: Copo Cockle One touches it to McMahon the slot and
- 6:07Speaker 5: he rips a wrist shot under the bar. Five one
- 6:12Speaker 5: kracking and his parents Connie and Sisoha.
- 6:15Speaker 4: Gotta be proud of Alexiak. A round both fist here,
- 6:18Speaker 4: half roll. McMahon, it's the ring passing.
- 6:21Speaker 2: Alexach six one Seattle on Jamie Alexiak with a nice
- 6:30Speaker 2: little given go. I believe it was every on the
- 6:32Speaker 2: half wall.
- 6:33Speaker 5: He drops the puck down to him and then he
- 6:35Speaker 5: goes harder than net present to stick and that puck
- 6:38Speaker 5: comes right back to him.
- 6:40Speaker 2: He goes five hole and it's in the back of
- 6:42Speaker 2: the net. Excuse me, it was McMahon on the pass
- 6:45Speaker 2: to Alexiak. Six to one.
- 6:47Speaker 3: Cracket six to two is your final score. As the
- 6:50Speaker 3: cracking route the floor the Panthers. In the first of
- 6:52Speaker 3: two matchups for the regular season, Copo Coaco led the
- 6:55Speaker 3: way with a three point game. Additionally, sex cracking players
- 6:59Speaker 3: had multi point outings, including Ryan Winterton with a goal
- 7:03Speaker 3: and an assist, all a part of a first period
- 7:06Speaker 3: where the offense and depth did some pretty heavy lifting.
- 7:09Speaker 3: Winterton's line with Ben Meyers and Freddie Gudrou combinding for
- 7:12Speaker 3: five points, and for good measure, Bobby McMahon made a
- 7:16Speaker 3: massive first impression in his cracking home debut.
- 7:19Speaker 2: Scoring a goal.
- 7:20Speaker 3: He's got two goals in two games since joining the Kraken,
- 7:23Speaker 3: and he put up two points on Sunday night, marking
- 7:27Speaker 3: a wopping five points in his first two games. Certainly
- 7:30Speaker 3: he has been well worth the weight and the Kraken,
- 7:33Speaker 3: outscoring the opposition eleven to four since Bobby McMahon made
- 7:37Speaker 3: his Cracking debut this last Saturday. After the game, Ryan
- 7:41Speaker 3: Winterton had his reaction beating with the media.
- 7:44Speaker 7: You know, after the break, we weren't playing how we
- 7:45Speaker 7: wanted to, and I think, you know, a frustrating set in.
- 7:48Speaker 7: Frustration set in, and you know, I think everyone wanted it.
- 7:51Speaker 7: So it's just a full, full team effort, and you know,
- 7:53Speaker 7: at this some of the year, that's what you got
- 7:54Speaker 7: to do.
- 7:55Speaker 8: Lean talked last night about at times he thinks you
- 7:58Speaker 8: guys actually tried too hard and that can be a
- 8:00Speaker 8: detriment to the team. How different after you win that
- 8:04Speaker 8: game last night in Vancouver? How different has the mood
- 8:06Speaker 8: fell here over these last forty eight hours.
- 8:08Speaker 7: Yeah, winning's fun. So you know, as as long as
- 8:10Speaker 7: we're winning, I think the boys were having a good time,
- 8:12Speaker 7: and you know, I guess I just keep that going
- 8:15Speaker 7: and you know, stay in the playoff ers.
- 8:17Speaker 9: It looked like Ben was happier for a year goal
- 8:20Speaker 9: than his own goal. You guys got pretty tight this season.
- 8:23Speaker 7: Yeah, Ben, he's a great guy, and so it's Freddy.
- 8:25Speaker 7: I think we're all just happy for each other's success
- 8:27Speaker 7: out there, you know, all all the teams, so you know,
- 8:30Speaker 7: it's it's funny to see that after kind of looking
- 8:33Speaker 7: back and yeah, it was just as happy for his too.
- 8:36Speaker 9: Do you think that went off the first goal? Maybe
- 8:38Speaker 9: went off you or no?
- 8:40Speaker 7: The first one, no, I kind of saw it. It
- 8:42Speaker 7: almost hit his his face, so a little bit. I'm sorry,
- 8:45Speaker 7: but uh no, I kind of knew it went off him,
- 8:47Speaker 7: and you know it was pretty fired up.
- 8:50Speaker 8: But then you got a similar looking goal, right he
- 8:53Speaker 8: hits the post and you kind of see one from
- 8:54Speaker 8: him and away, Yeah, exactly.
- 8:55Speaker 7: In the chest. So yeah, just right place, right time,
- 8:58Speaker 7: I guess, and looking up hanging in. It's only been
- 9:01Speaker 7: two games with Bobby here, but have you noticed his
- 9:03Speaker 7: you know, presence on the top line kind of trickled
- 9:05Speaker 7: down to the rest of the lineup.
- 9:06Speaker 8: For you guy.
- 9:07Speaker 7: Yeah, absolutely Bobby's been awesome, just kind of you know,
- 9:09Speaker 7: he's fast, shoot the puck, you know, kind of just
- 9:12Speaker 7: what we needed and gets on for a check. And
- 9:15Speaker 7: I watched a lot of his games in Toronto, so
- 9:17Speaker 7: I kind of knew his game before, and you know,
- 9:19Speaker 7: I like it a lot.
- 9:20Speaker 9: And started the season to Now, what have you learned
- 9:23Speaker 9: most about what you can do on the ice?
- 9:26Speaker 7: Yeah? I think it's, you know, just doing what I can,
- 9:29Speaker 7: still growing, growing as a person, growing as a player,
- 9:32Speaker 7: trying to do what I can for the boys, and
- 9:34Speaker 7: you know, whether that be kill penalties or you know,
- 9:37Speaker 7: sit on the bench or be in the stands, just
- 9:39Speaker 7: trying to be a good teammate and you know, hopefully
- 9:42Speaker 7: hopefully that goes to the locker room.
- 9:43Speaker 3: All right, it has taken long enough here, but this
- 9:45Speaker 3: matchup is finally here. The Cracking take on the Tampa
- 9:48Speaker 3: Bay Lightning in their first up to matchups and joining
- 9:51Speaker 3: us down one Cracking this morning. Greg Lennelli, host for
- 9:54Speaker 3: the Lightning Audio Network as Tampa Bay heading west the
- 9:57Speaker 3: Crack and will be back east very very soon. So
- 10:01Speaker 3: they're going to get this season serious complete and what
- 10:04Speaker 3: feels like a flash, Greg joins us right now great,
- 10:06Speaker 3: thank you again for doing this year. And I think,
- 10:08Speaker 3: first off, if anyone's a scheduled nerd maybe like me
- 10:11Speaker 3: as well, they're gonna go bokers over this because I
- 10:13Speaker 3: mean me, it's been too long and you get the
- 10:15Speaker 3: feeling going through the season. You look at the calendar
- 10:18Speaker 3: and you go, hey, something's missing, right what about you?
- 10:22Speaker 10: You know it's don't you feel like Mike? And first off,
- 10:24Speaker 10: thanks for having me on this schedule. I think it's
- 10:26Speaker 10: been crazy regardless of this year obviously the contented schedule
- 10:29Speaker 10: and when teams play each other and when they don't,
- 10:32Speaker 10: it is it does feel a little helter skelter to
- 10:36Speaker 10: a degree. So I couldn't agree with you more. And
- 10:39Speaker 10: then you take a look at the really the last
- 10:41Speaker 10: month here for all teams. I mean, it's just an
- 10:42Speaker 10: insane amount of hockety to play it, saying, almost lose
- 10:45Speaker 10: track of who you're playing because you're just trying to
- 10:47Speaker 10: get through it and hopefully get into the playoffs. So
- 10:49Speaker 10: it's a fun time, but it's a busy time.
- 10:52Speaker 3: Probably keep Yeah, it kind of feels like a game
- 10:53Speaker 3: of survival here as everyone is getting through March before
- 10:56Speaker 3: we get right into the playoffs about roughly a month
- 10:59Speaker 3: away from now. And the fun part about this matchup
- 11:02Speaker 3: is I think seeing how close these teams are in
- 11:05Speaker 3: playoff form versus meetings, say way back in October. And
- 11:09Speaker 3: there's a couple of familiar names switching conferences as a
- 11:12Speaker 3: part of this game here for tonight. You know, once again,
- 11:15Speaker 3: Bobby McMahon is here going west, Corey Perry on the
- 11:18Speaker 3: lightning side going east, and we'll get to Corey Perry
- 11:21Speaker 3: soon here. But first things first, Tampa Bay, despite the
- 11:23Speaker 3: recent downside, Greg is still battling here for first in
- 11:26Speaker 3: the Atlantic. John Cooper and this is a wild part
- 11:29Speaker 3: to me, is being talked about for his first Jack
- 11:33Speaker 3: Adams Award. I mean, this to me is long overdue.
- 11:35Speaker 2: What are your thoughts?
- 11:37Speaker 10: Yeah, I mean, look, it's been a it feels like
- 11:40Speaker 10: a topic every year that is brought up. It seems
- 11:43Speaker 10: like though Mike there's a bigger push for him to
- 11:46Speaker 10: be Coach of the Year, and that honestly just may
- 11:49Speaker 10: come from two reasons. One previous years where he hasn't
- 11:53Speaker 10: won it. And it's a little ridiculous when you factor
- 11:55Speaker 10: in that he's won two Stanley Cups and he made
- 11:59Speaker 10: a third straight final appearance not too long ago. And
- 12:02Speaker 10: then I think the job he's done this year, and
- 12:05Speaker 10: you may say, well, you know, Tampa Bay is typically
- 12:07Speaker 10: one of the better teams, Mike, I don't know. Look
- 12:11Speaker 10: this flot notwithstanding for sure, because I think that'll be
- 12:16Speaker 10: playing a big part in some of this. But before
- 12:19Speaker 10: you know, I'm not sure many people anticipated John Cooper
- 12:22Speaker 10: and the Tampa Bay Lightning being this good when you
- 12:26Speaker 10: talked about all of the injuries they have sustained this year,
- 12:29Speaker 10: and they have been significant. So while they have a
- 12:31Speaker 10: deep team, I'm not sure many people thought they had
- 12:34Speaker 10: a deep team. And when you factor in all of
- 12:36Speaker 10: the injuries, the job he's done to keep this team's
- 12:39Speaker 10: head above water and excel has been remarkable. I've made
- 12:43Speaker 10: the comment Mike jokingly on my show, I think the
- 12:47Speaker 10: Coach of the Year award should just go to whoever
- 12:50Speaker 10: wins the Stanley Cup. It should just go to that
- 12:54Speaker 10: head coach, because for John Cooper not to have at
- 12:57Speaker 10: least one does feel a little disingenuous.
- 13:01Speaker 3: Greg Lenelly joining us right now here on Cracking this
- 13:03Speaker 3: morning as a Crack and again getting set here for
- 13:05Speaker 3: the first of two matchups against Tampa Bay. The Lightning
- 13:08Speaker 3: again heading west. They're taking on the Canucks here in
- 13:11Speaker 3: just a little bit after this matchup. But I think
- 13:13Speaker 3: part of what's going to make this matchup fun here
- 13:15Speaker 3: for me, Greg is it'll be the first time Yanni
- 13:18Speaker 3: Gord and Oliver by york Strand come back to Climate
- 13:21Speaker 3: Pledge Arena since they were traded at last year's trade deadline.
- 13:25Speaker 3: This is kind of part of what makes us scheduled
- 13:27Speaker 3: things so crazy. But Lightning fans knew what Yanni Gord
- 13:31Speaker 3: was all about. Krack and fans got to know what
- 13:33Speaker 3: Yanni Gord was all about. Both him and bork Strand
- 13:36Speaker 3: made a massive impact for the Kraken in their first
- 13:40Speaker 3: ever playoff run. But what's the present day like with
- 13:43Speaker 3: their part now in this lineup?
- 13:45Speaker 10: So Yanni Gord what's interesting. You can make the case
- 13:48Speaker 10: he's probably had a bigger impact than the Yorkstrand, And
- 13:52Speaker 10: I'm not sure Lightning fans would have felt that way
- 13:55Speaker 10: before the season began. Heck, I'm not even sure the
- 13:58Speaker 10: coaching staff would have believed that Gord when his line
- 14:03Speaker 10: is going with TASiS Holmberg and Zeen Fitzgergenson's has been
- 14:08Speaker 10: one of their best lines consistently all year. You're asking
- 14:11Speaker 10: them to play a shutdown role, which for the most
- 14:13Speaker 10: part they have done. But all of them have contributed
- 14:16Speaker 10: a little bit offensively as well. So that has freed
- 14:20Speaker 10: up some opportunities where Anthony Crelli doesn't have to do
- 14:23Speaker 10: the dirty work, because typically that's what Sorelli would do,
- 14:26Speaker 10: he and his linemates would have that tough job of
- 14:29Speaker 10: trying to shut down the other team's best scoring line.
- 14:32Speaker 10: Gord and his teammates has taken on that past this year.
- 14:36Speaker 10: The york Strand has been interesting because we know he
- 14:39Speaker 10: is a consistent twenty to twenty five goal scorer, and
- 14:43Speaker 10: we know he has a really good shot, and when
- 14:45Speaker 10: you lose a guy like Steven Stamkos, you're like, Okay, well,
- 14:48Speaker 10: how are we going to replace that production off the
- 14:51Speaker 10: power play? And while most of his goals this year
- 14:54Speaker 10: have come on the power play, I think the eye
- 14:57Speaker 10: test would suggest that it just has been clicking as
- 15:01Speaker 10: much as you'd like for breyork Strand offensively. And you know,
- 15:04Speaker 10: he may finish with twenty goals, but I think to
- 15:07Speaker 10: some degree it may be a quiet twenty. And I've
- 15:11Speaker 10: made the point to my podcast partners, you know, Dave
- 15:13Speaker 10: Michigan on our show Noon to One on Power Lunch
- 15:17Speaker 10: on Lightning Radio that I think for him and a
- 15:19Speaker 10: couple of other players who have had inconsistent years, you
- 15:23Speaker 10: almost need to use the playoffs as a reset to
- 15:26Speaker 10: give you almost second life a little bit and get
- 15:29Speaker 10: that confidence going, because I think it really has been
- 15:32Speaker 10: hit or mister breyork Strand this year for Tampa Bay.
- 15:34Speaker 3: Tampa Bay Lightning again with the york Strand on their
- 15:37Speaker 3: fourth line along with Corey Perry, Yanni Gord, as Greg mentioned,
- 15:40Speaker 3: no surprise a part of their third line, and you
- 15:41Speaker 3: just kind of get the feeling that he is going
- 15:44Speaker 3: to be a weapon come playoff time. But I'll get
- 15:47Speaker 3: to the york Strand's linemate right now. And Corey Perry
- 15:49Speaker 3: where at this stage of his career, he's well known
- 15:52Speaker 3: as a culture guy. He's back now for round two
- 15:55Speaker 3: in a Tampa Bay Jersey like Yanni Gord. So far,
- 15:58Speaker 3: what's the initial return on on how Corey Perry is
- 16:01Speaker 3: fitting in.
- 16:02Speaker 10: He's fit in like he's never left. You know, he
- 16:04Speaker 10: comes in and the interesting thing about Perry is he
- 16:07Speaker 10: understands his role at this point in his career, and
- 16:09Speaker 10: I think he's embraced that to a degree which has
- 16:11Speaker 10: made him really successful. And I think, you know, you
- 16:14Speaker 10: look at the goal numbers before he came over to
- 16:16Speaker 10: Tampa Bay and then you take a look what he
- 16:17Speaker 10: was able to do when he came over, you're not surprised.
- 16:21Speaker 10: And because I think he's doing whatever he can to
- 16:24Speaker 10: try and help Tampa Bay. When a Stanley Cup, He's
- 16:27Speaker 10: come really close, as we know, over the last handful
- 16:30Speaker 10: of years, So he's integrated himself really well. He's a
- 16:33Speaker 10: guy that John Cooper's talked about. When he speaks on
- 16:37Speaker 10: the bench, he's like having another coach out there. He
- 16:40Speaker 10: knows when to raise the temperature in the room and
- 16:43Speaker 10: when not to. And I think, you know, that type
- 16:45Speaker 10: of experience, plus the production you're getting with it, made
- 16:50Speaker 10: it a no brainer for Julian Breezwail and the Lightning
- 16:53Speaker 10: to bring it back.
- 16:54Speaker 3: And speaking of that word culture, Tampa Bay has had
- 16:57Speaker 3: what many have heard is a strong sense of culture.
- 17:00Speaker 3: But I mean you take Steven Stamkos out of the mixed,
- 17:03Speaker 3: Greg Victor Headman's of course getting up there in age
- 17:05Speaker 3: and several names from their Cup winning days have moved on.
- 17:09Speaker 3: But what's at the core? Where does continuity and culture
- 17:14Speaker 3: intersect here for this team in twenty twenty five to
- 17:16Speaker 3: twenty six.
- 17:16Speaker 10: Yeah, So I don't want to overthink this one because
- 17:19Speaker 10: I think, you know, we can we can go down
- 17:22Speaker 10: some analytics, we can we can talk about certain things
- 17:25Speaker 10: maybe an organization does or doesn't do. I'll just be
- 17:29Speaker 10: pretty right to the point and that, you know, I
- 17:31Speaker 10: think when you have a John Cooper behind the bench,
- 17:33Speaker 10: there's stability there, and typically when you have stability, you
- 17:36Speaker 10: don't have much chaos. Now with that, though, you need
- 17:39Speaker 10: good players to continue to make the head coach look
- 17:42Speaker 10: pretty good. And the Lightning has had this window open
- 17:45Speaker 10: for the last decades plus because they've had players like
- 17:48Speaker 10: Nikita Koutrov and Brandon Point and Victor Hedman and Andre
- 17:51Speaker 10: Vasileski continue to be a core piece of what they're doing.
- 17:54Speaker 10: And oh, by the way, they've been really productive. Nikita
- 17:57Speaker 10: Koutros is having a banner. See but when you take
- 18:00Speaker 10: a look at his statistics, he's going to go down
- 18:03Speaker 10: maybe as the all time leading Russian point producer and
- 18:06Speaker 10: could be in the top fifteen, top twenty all time.
- 18:08Speaker 10: In the regular season when it's done, he gets out
- 18:11Speaker 10: of bed and he gets two points. That's how dominant
- 18:14Speaker 10: he is. And then you've got Andre Vassilevski, who I'm
- 18:18Speaker 10: not being hyperbolic here. I mean, there aren't so many
- 18:22Speaker 10: guys as good as Vassie over for the last twenty
- 18:24Speaker 10: twenty five years. And I think when you have high
- 18:29Speaker 10: end Hall of famers, a coach who's been there, done that,
- 18:32Speaker 10: and does a really good job of taking the temperature
- 18:34Speaker 10: of the team, and then you have a general manager
- 18:38Speaker 10: who can compliment those players by drafting and developing really
- 18:44Speaker 10: well in addition to making some pretty good trades that
- 18:47Speaker 10: for the most part he's hit on. It's a collective group,
- 18:50Speaker 10: for sure, but they've got that formula which has allowed
- 18:54Speaker 10: them to keep this window pretty wide open.
- 18:57Speaker 2: Yeah, and a big reason why that they're in the
- 18:58Speaker 2: mix once again here.
- 19:00Speaker 3: Finally, I mean, you brought up his name, but we
- 19:01Speaker 3: can't get out of here without crystalizing the impact the
- 19:04Speaker 3: course of Nikida Kucherov, the box office attraction that he
- 19:07Speaker 3: provides Tampa Bay. I mean, one hundred and six points
- 19:11Speaker 3: sixty one games, and he's making a loud case here
- 19:13Speaker 3: for the Hard Trophy. Never mind the scoring title here,
- 19:16Speaker 3: But I mean in a thirty two you talked about
- 19:18Speaker 3: his place within Russian grades and NHL history. Where's Kuchirov's
- 19:22Speaker 3: place on the Mount rush more of Lightning grades over
- 19:25Speaker 3: the time that he's all done.
- 19:27Speaker 10: Yeah, I think it'll be in the top four. I mean,
- 19:30Speaker 10: I think he's going to be. I think it'll be
- 19:31Speaker 10: the all time we can score. He may go down
- 19:34Speaker 10: as the best offensive player they've ever had. And look,
- 19:36Speaker 10: that's saying something when you have Steven Samcoz who has
- 19:39Speaker 10: been as dominant as he's been from a goal scoring perspective,
- 19:43Speaker 10: Marty Saint Lui and Vinilocavier kind of got things going
- 19:47Speaker 10: when they were able to win the Cup back.
- 19:48Speaker 3: In O four.
- 19:49Speaker 10: And look, you're gonna have to make a room for
- 19:50Speaker 10: Rodre Vassileski, who again is not only going to go
- 19:53Speaker 10: down as the greatest Lighting goaltender of all time, but
- 19:55Speaker 10: there may be a conversation of having him in the
- 19:57Speaker 10: top five of all time when it's all sut in
- 20:00Speaker 10: numbers in hardware. So I think he's the best offensive
- 20:04Speaker 10: player the Lightning have ever had in the history of
- 20:07Speaker 10: their organization. I think he does things on the ice
- 20:10Speaker 10: that not many people appreciate and probably wouldn't even attempt.
- 20:14Speaker 10: Does he get frustrated sometimes on the ice when things
- 20:16Speaker 10: aren't going his way, for sure, but in the passes
- 20:20Speaker 10: that he makes, he could be a guy Mike that
- 20:22Speaker 10: goes fifty and one hundred every year when you start
- 20:25Speaker 10: talking about goals and assists, so he's a special player.
- 20:29Speaker 10: You talk about drafting and developing. Take a look at
- 20:32Speaker 10: what Nikita Kukov was drafted. Hard to believe he was
- 20:35Speaker 10: in the first overall kicker even in the first round.
- 20:38Speaker 10: The Lighting were able to get him. He developed and
- 20:41Speaker 10: he has been one of the top three or four
- 20:43Speaker 10: offensive players in the game for a long time.
- 20:45Speaker 3: Do a big reason why the Lightning will be a
- 20:48Speaker 3: challenge and then some is able to open a four
- 20:50Speaker 3: game trip coming up tonight again the Canucks. After that,
- 20:53Speaker 3: Oilers and Inflames. Here to wrap it up once again,
- 20:56Speaker 3: Greg Lenelly joining us here. It was a pleasure. Great
- 20:59Speaker 3: bags so much every great show. We'll talk to you
- 21:01Speaker 3: down the road.
- 21:02Speaker 10: Thanks sir, Any John, appreciate it all right.
- 21:04Speaker 3: That is Greg Lennelli joining us once again host for
- 21:07Speaker 3: the Lightning Audio Network as Tampa Bay comes in, opening
- 21:10Speaker 3: up a four game road trip, and as we said
- 21:12Speaker 3: once more, the Kraken have found Tampa Bay to be
- 21:16Speaker 3: a handful. The Kraken with just one win in eight
- 21:18Speaker 3: livetime games against the Lightning. They're trying to get out
- 21:21Speaker 3: of a three game winless skid their last meeting and
- 21:24Speaker 3: gotta go all the way back. How times have changed.
- 21:27Speaker 3: February twenty third of twenty twenty five, shortly before the
- 21:31Speaker 3: trade deadline, the Krack and losing four to one in
- 21:34Speaker 3: Tampa Bay, and the Krack And aiming for their first
- 21:36Speaker 3: win over the Lightning since October thirtieth of twenty twenty three.
- 21:41Speaker 3: That was in Tampa Bay. So yep, do the math.
- 21:44Speaker 3: The Kraken all right now, also aiming for their first
- 21:47Speaker 3: ever win in Seattle over the Lightning. Tampa Bay coming
- 21:50Speaker 3: off a four to two lost to Carolina, outshot thirty
- 21:53Speaker 3: five nineteen and as we said, they have found their
- 21:56Speaker 3: issues last ten games, trying to keep up with a
- 21:58Speaker 3: red hot Buffalo sabers three and seven. That's a Lightning
- 22:02Speaker 3: record right now in the last ten games, outscored forty
- 22:05Speaker 3: two to thirty two in that stretch. In their penalty kill,
- 22:08Speaker 3: he's giving up ten goals and thirty three chances as
- 22:10Speaker 3: well in that span that also includes for the Buffalo
- 22:15Speaker 3: Sabers hung on them in that legendary eight seven game
- 22:19Speaker 3: back in Buffalo. Nonetheless, they're looking for a boost here
- 22:22Speaker 3: from Corey Perry, as we talked about three points in
- 22:25Speaker 3: five games since the trade deadline and when Nikida Kucharov
- 22:29Speaker 3: leading the way, their offense continuing to turn fourth best
- 22:32Speaker 3: in the NHL with three point four goals scored per
- 22:35Speaker 3: game in this regular season, not to mention Andre Bassileevski
- 22:39Speaker 3: doing Andrevassilevski things, is nine to one four save percentage
- 22:43Speaker 3: typer second entering the week in the NHL. Only Scott
- 22:47Speaker 3: Wegwood is better at nine to one eight for Colorado.
- 22:50Speaker 3: So it will certainly be a test the Kraken taking
- 22:54Speaker 3: on the Lightning tonight seven o'clock Pacific time officially for
- 22:58Speaker 3: puck Drop. Will get going a little bit further after
- 23:00Speaker 3: that here for national TV covers, but of course you
- 23:03Speaker 3: can catch us beginning at six thirty.
- 23:05Speaker 2: We'll have everything covered for.
- 23:07Speaker 3: You right here ninety three to three KJRFM and the

- 23:14Speaker 3: that you can join us in this homestand finale before

- 23:20Speaker 3: Big thank you again to Greg Lenelli ever Kracken. This morning,
