SPEAKER_00: Hello everyone, welcome back to the Astrology for Beginners podcast.
0:07
SPEAKER_00: I'm your host, Stephanie Kate Boucher, and I am so happy to have you here.
0:12
SPEAKER_00: This is the podcast for you if you have ever wanted to learn how to read a natal
0:17
SPEAKER_00: chart or were kind of interested in astrology and wished that you understood more
0:22
SPEAKER_00: about it but didn't know where to begin or it seemed too complicated and you didn't
0:27
SPEAKER_00: have the time or the resources to invest in learning it.
0:32
SPEAKER_00: My goal is to break things down for you episode by episode in the most simplified
0:37
SPEAKER_00: way that I can so that you can learn to speak the language of the stars.
0:42
SPEAKER_00: Thank you for learning astrology with me.
0:47
SPEAKER_00: Hey astrology friends, welcome back.
0:50
SPEAKER_00: We are here again this week for more astrology fun.
0:53
SPEAKER_00: Today I am going to cover yet one more tool that will,
0:58
SPEAKER_00: hopefully,
0:59
SPEAKER_00: help you understand more about yourself and allow you to engage in some really
1:05
SPEAKER_00: meaningful self-exploration.
1:07
SPEAKER_00: That's always the goal.
1:09
SPEAKER_00: And I love the tool that we're going to talk about today.
1:13
SPEAKER_00: We are going to talk about chart rulers.
1:16
SPEAKER_00: Did you know that every person's natal chart has a chart ruler?
1:22
SPEAKER_00: That everybody has a planet in their chart that sort of runs the show in your life
1:29
SPEAKER_00: or serves as the ringleader,
1:32
SPEAKER_00: if you will.
1:33
SPEAKER_00: Or maybe it's like the CEO, the CEO of your chart or your life, really.
1:38
SPEAKER_00: Now,
1:39
SPEAKER_00: I say this somewhat loosely because I don't want to give the false impression that
1:44
SPEAKER_00: there is necessarily just one planet in your chart or anyone's chart that is vastly
1:50
SPEAKER_00: more important than all of the others.
1:53
SPEAKER_00: That
1:53
SPEAKER_00: Happens a lot in mainstream sun sign astrology,
1:57
SPEAKER_00: right,
1:57
SPEAKER_00: where people make out like the sun is the primary thing about you and that sign is
2:03
SPEAKER_00: what perfectly encapsulates everything about who you are and what you're doing here.
2:09
SPEAKER_00: And it is very important.
2:11
SPEAKER_00: The sun is your ego identity and where you shine and all of that.
2:15
SPEAKER_00: But there's a whole solar system out there.
2:18
SPEAKER_00: And all of the planetary bodies are pretty significant.
2:23
SPEAKER_00: There's an overemphasis on just one thing.
2:26
SPEAKER_00: The same can be said with the chart ruler.
2:29
SPEAKER_00: It's extremely important and it tells you a lot, but it's not the only thing.
2:34
SPEAKER_00: And every chart has to be read on a case-by-case basis to determine which planets
2:40
SPEAKER_00: are going to be felt in someone's chart most strongly.
2:44
SPEAKER_00: Because even though you have a chart ruler and it represents you and says a lot
2:49
SPEAKER_00: about you,
2:51
SPEAKER_00: you could also have some other different planet that's,
2:55
SPEAKER_00: you know,
2:55
SPEAKER_00: making aspects with almost every other planet in your chart and therefore is
3:00
SPEAKER_00: showing up all over your life because of that.
3:02
SPEAKER_00: And so that becomes one of your most influential planets.
3:06
SPEAKER_00: There are all kinds of things in astrology that can cause someone to feel the
3:11
SPEAKER_00: influence of one particular planet more strongly than they might feel some of the others.
3:17
SPEAKER_00: Nonetheless, one of those things is the chart ruler.
3:21
SPEAKER_00: And that is what we are going to talk about today.
3:24
SPEAKER_00: Everyone has a chart ruler.
3:25
SPEAKER_00: And essentially, the chart ruler represents you and your time here on this earth in a nutshell.
3:34
SPEAKER_00: If your entire natal chart,
3:36
SPEAKER_00: the whole thing put together,
3:38
SPEAKER_00: tells us about the overarching long-term story of you and your personality and
3:44
SPEAKER_00: experiences and your struggles and your potential triumphs and your learning curves
3:51
SPEAKER_00: and all your potential and all of that,
3:53
SPEAKER_00: then the chart ruler is kind of like the CliffsNotes version of your story.
3:59
SPEAKER_00: That's how I think of it.
4:01
SPEAKER_00: I might have just kind of made that up.
4:03
SPEAKER_00: I don't know if other people would explain it that way, but I've found that analogy to be helpful.
4:09
SPEAKER_00: This is like saying, I don't want the five-page or the ten-page version of the story.
4:15
SPEAKER_00: Give it to me in a paragraph.
4:16
SPEAKER_00: What's the gist of it?
4:18
SPEAKER_00: So the chart ruler can tell you an awful lot about yourself and what the major
4:22
SPEAKER_00: themes of your life are and will continue to be throughout your life.
4:27
SPEAKER_00: And if you look at what the planet is and the qualities that are associated with it,
4:32
SPEAKER_00: the sign in the house that it's in,
4:34
SPEAKER_00: the condition that it's in,
4:36
SPEAKER_00: whether it's dignified or debilitated,
4:38
SPEAKER_00: like we talked about last week.
4:40
SPEAKER_00: If you look at the aspects it's making with other planets,
4:44
SPEAKER_00: whether it's retrograde or direct in motion,
4:48
SPEAKER_00: all of these things give you information.
4:50
SPEAKER_00: And when you look at that information, you can glean a ton.
4:55
SPEAKER_00: The information about your planetary ruler can tell you about...
4:59
SPEAKER_00: what you're here to learn and work on.
5:02
SPEAKER_00: It can tell you what you're likely to be good at and what you may struggle with more.
5:06
SPEAKER_00: It can tell you about what you're trying to work on and overcome and then how you
5:11
SPEAKER_00: can expect to evolve if you do work on those things and begin to overcome them.
5:17
SPEAKER_00: It's really, really cool.
5:19
SPEAKER_00: Again, it's the path that you're walking in a nutshell.
5:23
SPEAKER_00: Okay, so how do you determine your chart ruler and begin making sense of it?
5:28
SPEAKER_00: Let's talk about that.
5:30
SPEAKER_00: Finding your chart ruler is really pretty simple.
5:33
SPEAKER_00: That's the easy part.
5:34
SPEAKER_00: Your chart ruler is the planet that rules the sign that your ascendant is in.
5:41
SPEAKER_00: So it's highly likely that you already know what your ascendant sign is because
5:45
SPEAKER_00: you've been listening to this show.
5:47
SPEAKER_00: But if you're new or you don't know it for some reason,
5:51
SPEAKER_00: go look at your chart,
5:52
SPEAKER_00: look at your ascendant line and see what sign that ascendant line falls into.
5:58
SPEAKER_00: This is your rising sign.
6:00
SPEAKER_00: The planet that rules that sign is your chart ruler.
6:05
SPEAKER_00: You,
6:06
SPEAKER_00: as a person,
6:07
SPEAKER_00: are going to embody many of the character traits and many of the qualities that are
6:12
SPEAKER_00: associated with that planet.
6:14
SPEAKER_00: Or you will be working on them and trying to improve them or refine them.
6:19
SPEAKER_00: And or they will be the themes that are going to show up for you repeatedly in a
6:25
SPEAKER_00: myriad of different ways throughout your life.
6:27
SPEAKER_00: So step one is to determine which planet rules your rising sign.
6:33
SPEAKER_00: The handout I put out last week in the episode about the four essential dignities
6:38
SPEAKER_00: has that information in it.
6:40
SPEAKER_00: You'll look to the column that says rulership and the ruler of every sign is listed there.
6:47
SPEAKER_00: But let's go over it quickly here, too.
6:50
SPEAKER_00: If your rising sign is Aries, then your chart ruler is the planet Mars.
6:55
SPEAKER_00: Mars is your chart ruler.
6:57
SPEAKER_00: If your rising sign is Taurus, your chart ruler is Venus because Taurus is ruled by Venus.
7:04
SPEAKER_00: If your rising sign is Gemini, your chart ruler is Mercury.
7:08
SPEAKER_00: If your rising sign is Cancer, your chart ruler is the Moon.
7:13
SPEAKER_00: If you're a Leo rising, your chart ruler is the Sun.
7:17
SPEAKER_00: If you're a Virgo rising, that's going to be Mercury.
7:21
SPEAKER_00: Libra risings are ruled by Venus.
7:22
SPEAKER_00: So Venus is the chart ruler there.
7:25
SPEAKER_00: Scorpio risings.
7:27
SPEAKER_00: Scorpio is one of the three signs that have two planetary rulers.
7:31
SPEAKER_00: It has a traditional or classical ruler which is Mars and a modern ruler which is Pluto.
7:38
SPEAKER_00: This gets a little tricky because there's a lot of debate and differing opinions
7:42
SPEAKER_00: out there about whether or not the outer planets can actually rule a person's chart.
7:48
SPEAKER_00: Some people don't think that the outer planets can be considered chart rulers
7:53
SPEAKER_00: because they are considered generational planets.
7:57
SPEAKER_00: And so they like to go the classical route and use Mars as the chart ruler for Scorpio risings.
8:04
SPEAKER_00: Other people like to embrace the outer planets more and integrate them in a more
8:10
SPEAKER_00: personal way,
8:11
SPEAKER_00: and so they may consider Pluto to be the chart ruler.
8:15
SPEAKER_00: Some people like the idea of these planets being co-rulers,
8:19
SPEAKER_00: and so they might say that a Scorpio rising has two chart rulers or two co-rulers,
8:25
SPEAKER_00: and they'd be looking at the placements of both planets.
8:28
SPEAKER_00: It's going to be up to you to take the information I'm laying out here and apply it.
8:34
SPEAKER_00: Try them both out if you're a Scorpio rising, if you want, and see what you think.
8:38
SPEAKER_00: See what resonates.
8:40
SPEAKER_00: See what rings true for you and in your life.
8:44
SPEAKER_00: Pluto's actually the higher octave of Mars.
8:47
SPEAKER_00: So I suspect that in a lot of cases,
8:49
SPEAKER_00: you could follow either one of those trains of thought and wind up discovering some
8:54
SPEAKER_00: similar things about yourself.
8:56
SPEAKER_00: Okay, where were we?
8:57
SPEAKER_00: Sagittarius.
8:58
SPEAKER_00: If you are a Sag rising, then your chart ruler is Jupiter.
9:03
SPEAKER_00: And if you're a Capricorn rising, your chart ruler is Saturn.
9:07
SPEAKER_00: Aquarius risings.
9:09
SPEAKER_00: This is another sign that has two co-rulers.
9:11
SPEAKER_00: They are Saturn in classical astrology and Uranus in modern astrology.
9:16
SPEAKER_00: Again, you'll have to feel that out.
9:19
SPEAKER_00: I would suggest that you look at them both.
9:21
SPEAKER_00: But if that sounds like too much and you don't want to look at two things, I would just pick one.
9:26
SPEAKER_00: And you probably can't go wrong just using classical astrology and going with Saturn.
9:32
SPEAKER_00: And last is Pisces.
9:34
SPEAKER_00: Same thing here with the co-rulers again.
9:36
SPEAKER_00: If you use classical astrology, your chart ruler will be Jupiter.
9:40
SPEAKER_00: And if you use modern astrology, your chart ruler will be Neptune.
9:45
SPEAKER_00: All right, so now you know your chart ruler.
9:47
SPEAKER_00: That was step one.
9:48
SPEAKER_00: So think for a minute, or it doesn't have to be right now.
9:52
SPEAKER_00: You can do all of this after you listen to the show,
9:55
SPEAKER_00: but take a little bit of time to just think about that planet's energy,
9:59
SPEAKER_00: the archetype that it embodies,
10:01
SPEAKER_00: and consider how that planet
10:04
SPEAKER_00: shows up in you?
10:06
SPEAKER_00: What parts of it,
10:07
SPEAKER_00: what qualities,
10:08
SPEAKER_00: what traits of that planet show up in you,
10:11
SPEAKER_00: in your personality,
10:13
SPEAKER_00: in your likes and dislikes,
10:15
SPEAKER_00: in the decisions you make,
10:17
SPEAKER_00: or the things that you do,
10:18
SPEAKER_00: or what's important to you,
10:19
SPEAKER_00: what you value?
10:21
SPEAKER_00: How have you integrated some of that?
10:24
SPEAKER_00: And write it down.
10:25
SPEAKER_00: It's really, really helpful to write this down if you can.
10:28
SPEAKER_00: And bulleted lists are fine.
10:29
SPEAKER_00: You don't have to write all kinds of paragraphs or anything like that.
10:34
SPEAKER_00: Step two is to look at your chart again and figure out,
10:38
SPEAKER_00: and again,
10:39
SPEAKER_00: many of you may already know this or have the visual of this in your head,
10:43
SPEAKER_00: but if you don't,
10:44
SPEAKER_00: you're going to find where that planet,
10:46
SPEAKER_00: your chart ruler,
10:48
SPEAKER_00: is in your chart.
10:50
SPEAKER_00: What house is it in?
10:51
SPEAKER_00: And what sign is it in?
10:53
SPEAKER_00: This information is key to understanding yourself.
10:58
SPEAKER_00: If this planet in your chart represents you,
11:02
SPEAKER_00: if it serves as the actual representation of you,
11:06
SPEAKER_00: that character in the play that symbolizes you in the overarching story,
11:12
SPEAKER_00: and the qualities that you have as a person,
11:15
SPEAKER_00: then the placement of that planet shows you where it is that you are meant to play
11:20
SPEAKER_00: out that role.
11:21
SPEAKER_00: So...
11:22
SPEAKER_00: With an Aries rising, for instance, you've got Mars as your chart ruler.
11:27
SPEAKER_00: So right away,
11:28
SPEAKER_00: you can deduce that you are here to learn how to embody martial qualities like directness,
11:34
SPEAKER_00: decisiveness,
11:36
SPEAKER_00: and taking quick,
11:37
SPEAKER_00: bold actions with confidence.
11:40
SPEAKER_00: You are here to be independent.
11:41
SPEAKER_00: Maybe there's a physical component to you.
11:45
SPEAKER_00: You may like to physically do things or have your body be more engaged in the
11:50
SPEAKER_00: things that you're doing,
11:51
SPEAKER_00: that type of thing.
11:52
SPEAKER_00: So, you know, just from the chart ruler, you know that that is a big part of what you're here to be.
12:00
SPEAKER_00: But why?
12:01
SPEAKER_00: Why was it important for you to be that way?
12:04
SPEAKER_00: What were you here to do in your life that would make that the personality that you need to have?
12:13
SPEAKER_00: What were you intending to do with those martial qualities?
12:17
SPEAKER_00: Those are the questions that you can begin to try and answer by looking at the sign
12:23
SPEAKER_00: and the house of your chart ruler.
12:25
SPEAKER_00: So in this case,
12:27
SPEAKER_00: maybe this person with Mars as their chart ruler would look for Mars in their chart
12:31
SPEAKER_00: and they would see that they've got Mars in the eighth house in the sign of Scorpio.
12:38
SPEAKER_00: Now, right away, I'm thinking this could be a surgeon.
12:42
SPEAKER_00: You've got the chart ruler, Mars, representing the individual whose chart we're looking at.
12:47
SPEAKER_00: And Mars is the planet that rules surgery or anything involving sharp objects of
12:52
SPEAKER_00: all kinds or cutting or anything like that.
12:56
SPEAKER_00: That's Mars.
12:57
SPEAKER_00: It's in the sign of Scorpio,
12:59
SPEAKER_00: which is all about looking under the hood or digging under the surface to see
13:02
SPEAKER_00: what's going on and bringing things up to be looked at.
13:07
SPEAKER_00: Mars is also in domicile in Scorpio 2 using traditional astrology.
13:12
SPEAKER_00: So that's going to give Mars extra power because it's also in domicile now.
13:18
SPEAKER_00: And it's in the eighth house of transformation,
13:21
SPEAKER_00: of death and rebirth,
13:23
SPEAKER_00: and also of collaborations and intimacy.
13:26
SPEAKER_00: And what's more intimate than getting into someone's body to save their life?
13:31
SPEAKER_00: Now, of course, other things in the chart would need to support this idea.
13:34
SPEAKER_00: So you'd want to look for other things.
13:36
SPEAKER_00: I always like to look for themes that show up at least three different times or in
13:40
SPEAKER_00: three different places in a chart.
13:43
SPEAKER_00: But this scenario could be a possibility.
13:46
SPEAKER_00: So you can start to answer this question.
13:49
SPEAKER_00: What is this person meant to do with all of these martial qualities they have?
13:53
SPEAKER_00: Why did they come into this life with these traits?
13:57
SPEAKER_00: Where did they intend to direct this energy?
14:00
SPEAKER_00: And of course, they're going to be directing it, you know, everywhere.
14:03
SPEAKER_00: But specifically, what did they think that they would be doing?
14:07
SPEAKER_00: What's the real purpose behind it?
14:09
SPEAKER_00: And it might not be professional, by the way.
14:11
SPEAKER_00: I know this is a professional example that I'm using,
14:14
SPEAKER_00: but sometimes the reason we're here and the areas of life that we're really meant
14:19
SPEAKER_00: to grow in aren't necessarily professional and don't have anything to do with our jobs.
14:24
SPEAKER_00: But in this case, surgeons need those qualities.
14:27
SPEAKER_00: They need to be decisive and take bold actions.
14:30
SPEAKER_00: They can't take forever to make choices.
14:32
SPEAKER_00: They certainly need confidence.
14:34
SPEAKER_00: Mars does that.
14:36
SPEAKER_00: They have to enjoy engaging their body in their activities.
14:40
SPEAKER_00: They're literally using their hands to perform surgery.
14:44
SPEAKER_00: They're on their feet for very long stretches of time.
14:46
SPEAKER_00: Mars again.
14:48
SPEAKER_00: They can't be afraid of the darker aspects of life and death.
14:52
SPEAKER_00: They can't be squeamish.
14:53
SPEAKER_00: Scorpio helps with that.
14:55
SPEAKER_00: And so does the eighth house.
14:57
SPEAKER_00: So you get this idea now about where this energy might be directed and how it's to be directed.
15:04
SPEAKER_00: So look at your chart, determine the house and sign of your chart ruler.
15:09
SPEAKER_00: The house is where the planet's energy gets most strongly expressed and the sign is
15:15
SPEAKER_00: how that energy gets expressed.
15:18
SPEAKER_00: Write those pieces of information down and then write down some of your ideas about
15:24
SPEAKER_00: how those different things are blending together in your life.
15:28
SPEAKER_00: How might all of that be showing up for you?
15:30
SPEAKER_00: You can look at themes in your life from the past.
15:34
SPEAKER_00: from the present.
15:36
SPEAKER_00: And don't be afraid to also look at your aspirations for the future.
15:40
SPEAKER_00: This is true for everyone.
15:42
SPEAKER_00: But maybe especially true if your chart ruler happens to be in your 11th house,
15:48
SPEAKER_00: since the 11th house rules over our goals,
15:51
SPEAKER_00: and our aspirations,
15:53
SPEAKER_00: or our hopes and dreams.
15:55
SPEAKER_00: It may be in this case, especially if you're still relatively young,
16:00
SPEAKER_00: That your chart ruler right now is showing up in the things that you still want to
16:05
SPEAKER_00: happen rather than what's already happened.
16:08
SPEAKER_00: Sometimes this is the case.
16:10
SPEAKER_00: Okay, that's step two.
16:12
SPEAKER_00: Step three, I'm going to suggest that you look at the planet's condition.
16:17
SPEAKER_00: This is what we talked about in the last episode about the four essential dignities.
16:22
SPEAKER_00: Those are rulership, exaltation, detriment, and fall.
16:26
SPEAKER_00: I won't go into all of those again now because we covered them pretty thoroughly last week.
16:32
SPEAKER_00: But you'll want to check to see if your planetary ruler is in a sign where one of those things applies.
16:38
SPEAKER_00: If it does, pay attention to that.
16:41
SPEAKER_00: Go back and listen to the last episode.
16:43
SPEAKER_00: Listen to what that means.
16:45
SPEAKER_00: It means the same thing for a chart ruler that it means for any other planet.
16:50
SPEAKER_00: But that meaning is just going to carry even more significance for you.
16:55
SPEAKER_00: and your life experiences,
16:57
SPEAKER_00: because that planet is like a mini encapsulation of you and what you want to be
17:02
SPEAKER_00: working on.
17:04
SPEAKER_00: I think I mentioned last week that my chart ruler is Venus, and it's in fall in the sign of Virgo.
17:11
SPEAKER_00: So the gifts that that brings me,
17:14
SPEAKER_00: like discernment,
17:16
SPEAKER_00: the ability to refine things,
17:18
SPEAKER_00: the ability to make things better,
17:20
SPEAKER_00: lovelier or bring harmony into what I do,
17:23
SPEAKER_00: a love of service,
17:24
SPEAKER_00: wanting to be of service,
17:25
SPEAKER_00: etc.,
17:26
SPEAKER_00: are all key features of who I am.
17:28
SPEAKER_00: But so are the challenges and the discomfort of having a planet in fall,
17:34
SPEAKER_00: like not being able to totally let go and be spontaneous and throw caution to the
17:39
SPEAKER_00: wind like other people might or some other people might in order to enjoy the
17:44
SPEAKER_00: the carefree pleasures of life, because my Venus is more reserved being in Virgo.
17:49
SPEAKER_00: She's a bit more proper there.
17:51
SPEAKER_00: So that planetary condition,
17:53
SPEAKER_00: if it's in one of those four signs,
17:56
SPEAKER_00: with all of its pros and cons,
17:58
SPEAKER_00: is an important part of you.
18:00
SPEAKER_00: Step four,
18:02
SPEAKER_00: look at the aspects that your chart ruler is making to other planets and angles and nodes,
18:08
SPEAKER_00: etc.,
18:09
SPEAKER_00: If we go back to my first example with Mars and Scorpio in the eighth house,
18:15
SPEAKER_00: and we suspect that this person could be a surgeon or perhaps had a future as a
18:21
SPEAKER_00: surgeon or something,
18:22
SPEAKER_00: we could look for more clues by checking to see what aspects it's making to other
18:27
SPEAKER_00: planets and where those other planets are.
18:30
SPEAKER_00: So let's say,
18:31
SPEAKER_00: for example,
18:32
SPEAKER_00: that we took this next step and saw that Mars,
18:35
SPEAKER_00: the chart ruler,
18:37
SPEAKER_00: was forming a conjunction with Saturn.
18:41
SPEAKER_00: Well,
18:41
SPEAKER_00: now I'm really thinking surgeon and that that's a possibility because Saturn will
18:46
SPEAKER_00: combine with the Mars to bring discipline,
18:50
SPEAKER_00: hard work,
18:51
SPEAKER_00: precision,
18:52
SPEAKER_00: maturity,
18:53
SPEAKER_00: structure,
18:55
SPEAKER_00: doing things by the book,
18:56
SPEAKER_00: taking actions very seriously.
18:59
SPEAKER_00: Mars conjunct Saturn takes its actions very seriously.
19:02
SPEAKER_00: It'll be less hotheaded and more sober in its approach here.
19:07
SPEAKER_00: And you do want that in a surgeon, you would think, right?
19:11
SPEAKER_00: You want them to be confident and decisive,
19:13
SPEAKER_00: yes,
19:14
SPEAKER_00: but you want them to also understand the gravity of the situation and not be rash.
19:20
SPEAKER_00: Or maybe there's another aspect with Saturn.
19:23
SPEAKER_00: Maybe Mars and Scorpio in the 8th house is forming a sextile to Saturn in the 10th
19:28
SPEAKER_00: house or Saturn in the 6th house.
19:31
SPEAKER_00: Those are career houses.
19:32
SPEAKER_00: So now you've got an easy flow of energy from Saturn in a career house to Mars.
19:39
SPEAKER_00: Now,
19:39
SPEAKER_00: if you've got a different kind of aspect with a different planet,
19:43
SPEAKER_00: that could change your train of thought completely here.
19:47
SPEAKER_00: If Mars were conjunct with Neptune instead of Saturn, I'm probably not thinking surgeon.
19:55
SPEAKER_00: Neptune's not really a surgeon kind of planet.
19:58
SPEAKER_00: Probably not.
19:59
SPEAKER_00: Neptune doesn't really do precision all that well.
20:03
SPEAKER_00: Neptune can be very creative and very spiritual and very deep,
20:06
SPEAKER_00: but it can make things fuzzy and unclear or confusing.
20:11
SPEAKER_00: And fuzzy isn't what most people want in a surgeon.
20:14
SPEAKER_00: So now we've got a different story on our hands.
20:17
SPEAKER_00: This person might still be a healer of some kind.
20:20
SPEAKER_00: That's still possible.
20:21
SPEAKER_00: But now, with Neptune in the mix, now I'm thinking more along the lines of psychology or therapy.
20:28
SPEAKER_00: Maybe someone who helps other people get to the bottom of really deep emotional issues.
20:33
SPEAKER_00: They're healing another kind of wound.
20:36
SPEAKER_00: Just a possibility.
20:38
SPEAKER_00: So look at the aspects.
20:40
SPEAKER_00: And if there are none, by the way, that's what we call an unaspected planet.
20:44
SPEAKER_00: That happens with a planet that makes absolutely no aspects with any other planets at all.
20:50
SPEAKER_00: And it stands alone somewhere in the chart.
20:52
SPEAKER_00: That means something too.
20:55
SPEAKER_00: One thing it could mean is that this is a really independent person.
20:58
SPEAKER_00: This is someone who really may learn how to take care of themselves or they want to
21:03
SPEAKER_00: learn how to take care of themselves.
21:05
SPEAKER_00: Or it could mean that the energy of this planetary ruler is meant to be deeply
21:11
SPEAKER_00: focused toward its own placement.
21:14
SPEAKER_00: And the intention for it is to express itself in a way where that planet's energy
21:19
SPEAKER_00: remains unsullied by other planetary influences.
21:24
SPEAKER_00: This could make for some intensity in someone's personality.
21:28
SPEAKER_00: It could also lead to tunnel vision,
21:31
SPEAKER_00: where someone has a hard time shifting their focus toward other areas of life sometimes.
21:36
SPEAKER_00: Like they get really wrapped up in this part of life that feels super important to
21:40
SPEAKER_00: them or this part of themselves that is a big focus for them.
21:45
SPEAKER_00: And they could occasionally lose sight of other things.
21:48
SPEAKER_00: it may be harder to create balance.
21:51
SPEAKER_00: But then learning how to find balance when your chart might not fully support that,
21:55
SPEAKER_00: that might be one of their lessons to take on.
21:59
SPEAKER_00: Okay,
21:59
SPEAKER_00: next we have step five,
22:01
SPEAKER_00: and I promise that we are just about out of steps,
22:05
SPEAKER_00: but this one is pretty simple.
22:07
SPEAKER_00: Look to see if the chart ruler was retrograde at the time of your birth.
22:12
SPEAKER_00: We did also talk about retrograde planets and what they mean just a few episodes ago.
22:19
SPEAKER_00: Essentially,
22:19
SPEAKER_00: you're spending a lot of time in your life reviewing the qualities of that planet,
22:24
SPEAKER_00: perhaps feeling challenged by some of them,
22:26
SPEAKER_00: or maybe learning how to use that planet's energy in a new or different way.
22:31
SPEAKER_00: And
22:33
SPEAKER_00: Really spending your lifetime trying to evaluate it all,
22:36
SPEAKER_00: evaluate all that's planet's themes and find ways of integrating it.
22:41
SPEAKER_00: Finally, if you feel like you can take a step six, I have one more thing that you can do for now.
22:49
SPEAKER_00: If you don't want to do this,
22:50
SPEAKER_00: if you think you've got enough on your plate to chew on with steps one through five,
22:54
SPEAKER_00: you can skip this because we'll be coming back to this concept later on.
22:59
SPEAKER_00: But if you're feeling brave and want more, you can look at the sign that your chart ruler is in.
23:07
SPEAKER_00: Determine what planet rules that sign and then go find that planet in your chart
23:15
SPEAKER_00: and see what it is doing.
23:17
SPEAKER_00: Basically, you're going to repeat all of these steps with that new planet.
23:21
SPEAKER_00: This planet is called a dispositor,
23:24
SPEAKER_00: and it gives you even more clues about how you intended to carry out the energy of
23:29
SPEAKER_00: the chart ruler.
23:31
SPEAKER_00: So, for example, I'm a Libra rising.
23:34
SPEAKER_00: My chart ruler is Venus.
23:36
SPEAKER_00: I have Venus in the 11th house in Virgo, and Virgo is ruled by the planet Mercury.
23:43
SPEAKER_00: So I would then look to my natal Mercury and
23:46
SPEAKER_00: the planet of thinking,
23:47
SPEAKER_00: networking,
23:48
SPEAKER_00: and communication,
23:49
SPEAKER_00: which for me is in Leo in the 10th house of career.
23:53
SPEAKER_00: So that would indicate that I can use that Venus and Virgo energy,
23:59
SPEAKER_00: not only to work with groups of people,
24:01
SPEAKER_00: because 11th house stuff,
24:03
SPEAKER_00: but that I can make that something I do publicly and or as part of my career to
24:09
SPEAKER_00: possibly in the form of communication,
24:12
SPEAKER_00: because its dispositor Venus's dispositor Mercury is in the 10th house.
24:18
SPEAKER_00: And that's pretty much what I do and have done.
24:22
SPEAKER_00: So take that for what you will.
24:26
SPEAKER_00: All right, that I think wraps up today's episode.
24:30
SPEAKER_00: Please take a moment and make sure you're following this show on whatever app you'd like to listen on.
24:35
SPEAKER_00: That will ensure that you never miss an episode and it will also ensure that more people can find it.
24:42
SPEAKER_00: That's all for now, everyone.
24:43
SPEAKER_00: Thank you for being here today.
24:45
SPEAKER_00: Please feel free to reach out with comments or questions.
24:48
SPEAKER_00: And in the meantime, have a great week and I will see you next time.
