- 1:42archery competition or TAC type items, so check that out.
- 1:48Team BD 25% all month long. What do you think?
- 1:52You're pretty excited about all that stuff.
- 1:54Yeah, it'll be fun, yes. It will.
- 2:00It will. Yes it will.
- 2:02Check out my new cup. I see.
- 2:04I see. That says first place.
- 2:10Now this. Come out.
- 2:11After the videos come out. I think this will come out,
- 2:17yeah. It'll come out after.
- 2:18Yeah, it'll come out after. So we're good because we got
- 2:21Andre Part 2 this Wednesday coming up and then it'll be the
- 2:25following Wednesday, but by then that video, those two will be
- 2:30out. So anyways, go check them out.
- 2:32Two videos from the tournament. I shot known male open.
- 2:36The shots ranged anywhere from I think the shortest we did all
- 2:41weekend was 8 and the longest we did was.
- 2:45Ever a 60? I don't think they're other.
- 2:48I don't remember there being a 60.
- 2:50There was like one that was like 5960, but there was several over
- 2:5550, like between 50 and 60. So yeah, range from 8 yards to
- 2:596020 targets The first day, 20 The second day Brianna filmed
- 3:05and I had a new bow set up, had the proven 34 set up for target
- 3:13and man, I had those podium Archer bars on the bow.
- 3:19I have a 27 in the front and 210 V bars in the back.
- 3:23Love the V bars in the back to set the bow down.
- 3:25Super convenient. But also with those big bars,
- 3:29that thing just so stable is so good.
- 3:34There's still a couple tweaks that I want to make to it that
- 3:37you and I have discussed magnification.
- 3:41So I'm going to try A4 power lens on the Black Gold dual
- 3:46track. So I'll have 4X magnification
- 3:48and switch to the Victory Archery 20 threes for outdoor
- 3:54rather than the HLRS. Yes, I think that is.
- 4:00I think that is wise. I think that you would.
- 4:04There were a couple we know I counted at least three that I
- 4:07could just remember not even looking back at the clips, but
- 4:12three that I could remember off the top of my head that would
- 4:15have for sure been twelves, which is an extra 6 points.
- 4:21We haven't even discussed what your over your total score was
- 4:24but yet, but that if you had had the 20 threes, you would have
- 4:30for sure gotten twelves on. And then I think the
- 4:34magnification where that comes in handy.
- 4:38And because you handle the magnification well, you know,
- 4:41some people have a hard time with lenses and even more so
- 4:49can't match a lens with a clarifier, but you don't do bad
- 4:55with them at all. So I think with the four power,
- 4:58that's where I think not just the line cutters, you know, that
- 5:02the arrows will help with, but with magnification.
- 5:06I think that's where you're going to see the biggest change
- 5:08in your score is because that's where a lot of, not that you get
- 5:11a lot of AIDS, but that's where a lot of those like I wouldn't
- 5:18even call them marginal shots like, but you know, say eights.
- 5:23A lot of those I think will turn into 10s.
- 5:27Yeah, I, I think that I think it's a good move, definitely.
- 5:32And it'll be, you know, another thing I like about it is that
- 5:36all three of my different bows will be pretty different setups,
- 5:41you know, from one to the other. So I think it'll be kind of nice
- 5:44because in a way it'll, I'll be able to compartmentalize, I
- 5:50think shooting with each one because they're going to be so
- 5:52different. Not feeling like there's a
- 5:54change every time you have to make switching to each one, you
- 5:59know, like like how you used to. And I also myself like 1 bow for
- 6:08all, one bow for everything. But then it felt as you started
- 6:11to dabble in more things that like it was constant.
- 6:14Like though there's a change I need to make.
- 6:16Oh, there's, you know, so I need to put these bars on before we
- 6:18go out the door or, you know, whatever.
- 6:21Having three separate and very different ones makes it easy to,
- 6:29especially once you shoot each one more.
- 6:32It's like, yeah, there's a little period where you got to
- 6:35pick it up and they're like, oh, OK, let me get used to this.
- 6:39But I think that's a short period for you.
- 6:42And then it's like, though this feels like that bow.
- 6:45Yep. Oh, this one feels like the
- 6:47hunting bow. Yep.
- 6:49Just very organized, I guess you could call it.
- 6:54Yeah, I agree. I think it is nice to just grab
- 6:58and go with each one rather than having to tweak it.
- 7:01The proven. The bow I just shot had a nick
- 7:05string from a broadhead on the system X.
- 7:07So it actually I just got new strings put on it, which I sort
- 7:10of wish now I would have waited to do till after this next trip
- 7:14we're about to go on. But nonetheless, well, because I
- 7:18it was dialed and now it may not be and I got to go, you know,
- 7:21shoot with Paige. So I want to do well.
- 7:24Oh, OK. Yeah, yeah, I was like full for
- 7:26your next shoe and then when you get back, you're going to dial
- 7:28it in with the new string. But yeah, I see what you're
- 7:31saying. You're that competitiveness.
- 7:33Yeah. And you?
- 7:35But anyways, the new string is actually not a system XI thought
- 7:38it was, but it's it's some other type of gas Bo string, but it's
- 7:41all black and I love it Everything it's just jet black
- 7:46and I really like it. Like I I saw it and I was like,
- 7:50I thought the System X kind of had like some Gray in it too.
- 7:53And I looked at the package and it wasn't System X, but it
- 7:55didn't say what it was. But it's all black and I love
- 7:59it. So I don't know.
- 8:02But the bow looks sick. It's ready to go.
- 8:04I can't wait to get the lens and the new arrow, new veins.
- 8:09We got an ad here for Come Undone movie, it looks like, but
- 8:13an interesting name. But anyway, anyway, yeah, I'm
- 8:17excited about that. And for tabs, actually, you just
- 8:21got a new bow as well. That's something to talk about.
- 8:23Talk about your new. Your new bow?
- 8:26Yeah, the the diamond, the diamond edge.
- 8:30I have not shot it yet. It's actually supposed to.
- 8:33An edge Max. Oh, a diamond edge Max.
- 8:36Nice. Yeah, maximum pressure.
- 8:40I don't know what the Max is for, but it is it probably it's
- 8:47not going to be like my everyday bow, you know, that's for sure,
- 8:51but it will be. I think a diamond edge was my
- 8:55first bow. Don't hold me to it, but I'm 99%
- 8:59positive because I know it was a bow tech and it was like the
- 9:01beginner level, which is a diamond.
- 9:05So it was a diamond of some sort was my first bow ever that
- 9:09lasted all about 3 months before I got a like a flagship bow.
- 9:14But it'll be fun to play around with.
- 9:21I'm very interested to feel it versus my virtue.
- 9:28I wish we had, you know, played with it yesterday.
- 9:30But I, we were slamming out other things.
- 9:33And then by the time I finished editing photos, I was about
- 9:36ready to pass out. But you don't have a job.
- 9:40Yeah, you don't. Actually do.
- 9:42Anything like do things for for for fun you know about 60 hours
- 9:48a week yeah but I I have not felt one in gosh sure it's 10
- 9:59plus years now like a pulling back of beginner level bow so
- 10:06I'm very interested. I feel the difference in it
- 10:08after having shot flagships for so long now and I'm I'm
- 10:15interested like will I play with it in the house where like I
- 10:19shoot it for funsies in the house, then my my virtue.
- 10:23I don't know. I know we have some stuff in
- 10:25store though with like doing some local shoots or whatnot
- 10:28where both of us shoot more of a beginner level, which should be
- 10:32interesting. I would really love to get a
- 10:35setup where I've so I wish we had two diamonds where like
- 10:39could dial it down because I would need it real low.
- 10:41But I've always thought of this video with doing it with Bernie.
- 10:44But even if I did it with you, although I think I would
- 10:47probably still lose if you shoot left-handed.
- 10:53We did that. Video one time, right?
- 10:54Oh, you didn't shoot right. Handed.
- 10:56No. Yeah, if I shoot right-handed.
- 10:58We did a video one time years ago where?
- 11:00I know you shot my bow. We both shot it.
- 11:03I think that one we should. You still won.
- 11:05We should actually do that again.
- 11:06Yeah, I was on that day. I know.
- 11:09But we should go do that that again like so you know, I like
- 11:12that fun stuff like that so. Yeah, but I, I don't know that I
- 11:16would be able to do it because I genuinely cannot close my left
- 11:20eye. So like I would have to, I would
- 11:24need a little bit of a grace period to like practice shooting
- 11:27with both eyes open, which I'm very not good at and see if I
- 11:34could even manage it. Otherwise, I don't know if I
- 11:36could do that competition because I can't shut the other
- 11:40eye. But having one that we can play
- 11:42with and do some more fun stuff. Once you're, we won't say what
- 11:45yet unless you feel like it, but you have another bow coming in
- 11:50which will allow us to do some more creative, funny content
- 11:57while also being able to use them for other people.
- 12:01Yes, that, that, that, that to me is.
- 12:03What the main reason for getting?
- 12:04Them exactly. Now the I don't know how
- 12:07adjustable the ascend is, but I think it's pretty adjustable.
- 12:10I think it's it's not as adjustable poundage wise as the
- 12:16diamond, not even close. It might go from 70 to like 55,
- 12:21but I think the draw length is still quite adjustable so I
- 12:25should be able to get most people with the exception of
- 12:29maybe some females to be able to fit into it if that's.
- 12:36The eventually we'll just get another diamond right-handed.
- 12:39That way people have options. That's the coolest part about
- 12:43the diamond though is to have a draw length from.
- 12:47I think it's from like 14 inches to 31 and the poundage goes from
- 12:53like 15 to 70. So I mean, literally, you can
- 12:57make it fit anybody in a couple of minutes.
- 13:01It's so cool. So yeah, I mean, I I'm excited
- 13:04that you have that bow. I think that historically budget
- 13:10Bowl videos have done quite well on the channel.
- 13:12So I think having a couple of them on hand that are actually
- 13:16ours and we don't just borrow from Bow and Arrow shop, I think
- 13:20it's going to give us some nice tools at our disposal to film
- 13:24some neat content that. I think I decided where I want
- 13:27to hang them too. I think we'll have two right
- 13:29there. That has a lot of value to it,
- 13:31you know, because bows are expensive.
- 13:35I mean they're really expensive nowadays and everything like
- 13:38everything, the prices just keep going up and up and up.
- 13:41So the fact that you can get a diamond package ready to go for
- 13:47400 bucks or whatever it is is nice, you know, so I, I'm
- 13:52excited for that and. I think they're great options
- 13:56for kids or like, say your wife is intrigued enough, but like
- 14:02not interested in going hunting and not interested in like going
- 14:06even like to fun competitions, but like wants to come and shoot
- 14:12tack for fun. You know, such an easy bow to
- 14:17like shoot in the backyard when the kids and you know, the the
- 14:21husband or whoever shooting and I'm I'm I feel like someone's
- 14:27probably going to comment like you're being sexist, but like 9
- 14:29times out of 10 that's the case. You know, it's the man the in
- 14:32the relationship who's likely a hunter shooter and you know, I'm
- 14:39oddly obsessed with archery where it's like sometimes like
- 14:43the female just doesn't tear. But if they do want to shoot for
- 14:46fun, what a cheap bow to pick up to just play in the yard with
- 14:53it. And then but it's so versatile
- 14:57because it being a bow tech and the things that they can do and
- 15:01whatnot, then technology that you could just have it as a play
- 15:05in the yard bow, but it can also go shoot attack like it's plenty
- 15:10capable of that. And you know, you can upgrade
- 15:15your site, you can upgrade your whisker biscuit.
- 15:20I love the whisker biscuit whisker.
- 15:22Biscuit whisker Biscuit a. Whisker Biscuit has to be the
- 15:26most sold arrow rest of all time.
- 15:30It has to be. There's no way it's not as far
- 15:33as volume goes. Think how many Whisker biscuits
- 15:37have sold all time. It's got to be insane because
- 15:43they're on every single test bow at a shop.
- 15:48All of them. They're on every single budget
- 15:51bow or entry level bow. They're on any bow at Walmart.
- 15:56You know what I'm saying? Like they're on everything.
- 15:59Shout out to Whisker Biscuit. I don't even know whose company
- 16:02that is. I was literally just thinking
- 16:03that like who What? I'm I'm sure it's an umbrella to
- 16:09under an umbrella of some sort, but what umbrella?
- 16:12Is it owned under you? You look like you're ready for a
- 16:15nap right now, partner, are you? Just found that my most
- 16:19productive day. We know that it hasn't.
- 16:21No, no it hasn't. But you're that's OK.
- 16:24You you do as well. So I think it would be fun for
- 16:26the viewers, number one, to drop some suggestions down in the
- 16:31comments for videos you would like to see with some more
- 16:34budget friendly Bose and they could be educational, they could
- 16:37be entertaining. Entertaining is my preference.
- 16:39Competitions. Let us know what you want to see
- 16:42with those rigs. With that being said, we're
- 16:46obviously doing a fair amount of tournaments this year or I am
- 16:50and you're filming a lot of them, but that's fun, right?
- 16:52And we got one under our belt and a freaking W on our first
- 16:56one in the premier class, right? So that's a good start.
- 16:59But don't get it twisted. We are still doing the TAC
- 17:05circuit and the Boat Disciples Challenge circuit.
- 17:09So Boat Disciples Challenge May 15th through 17 Lake Henshaw,
- 17:13California information Boat disciples.com One day, 2 day,
- 17:17three day pass. So then we're going to that we
- 17:20should go over what total archery challenges are on our
- 17:25schedule for this year and maybe we alternate.
- 17:28So you say the first one, kind of introduce it and then I'll do
- 17:31several ones. OK, So what?
- 17:34Oklahoma, it's Beaver's Bend, Oklahoma Tech, which we did do
- 17:39last year for the first time and I think we kind of did this last
- 17:44year in a pod after we were. We're kind of like reviewing and
- 17:47rating each tack in the positives and things we did.
- 17:50We did go back if you want to hear about that.
- 17:52But Oklahoma by far to summarize it up same as we did last year
- 18:01is I think one of the funnest tacks.
- 18:07It's not going to have your like big mountainous courses like the
- 18:12ski resort tax, but it's fun on a whole different level.
- 18:17Like just where the, I have a tickle in my throat, just where
- 18:27the, what you call it vendor area is located.
- 18:35And the way they like lay it out, it's more compact, but I
- 18:39think that's great because they like it.
- 18:41It mushes everybody together more, doesn't feel so spread
- 18:45out, which not to say that Oklahoma's tech is empty at all,
- 18:51but I like it not spread out. Like it's easy to walk from
- 18:54vendor to vendor and like the aisles.
- 18:56And they had that, Remember the one afternoon we went back and
- 19:01they had that concert with that one guy that was like, was he
- 19:05from like the voice or who's from some show?
- 19:09There wasn't like a winner, but like high up on the the list and
- 19:14just very like outdoorsy, vibey fun vibe, like one of the
- 19:20funnest vibes from TAC. And then not just the TAC event
- 19:23alone, but the town Beavers bend that it is in like the funnest
- 19:32town of all. Tax every restaurant or.
- 19:37We can't say all 'cause we. We haven't been to all yeah,
- 19:40this is true and we are trying some new ones, quite a few this
- 19:43year. But one of the funnest, I think,
- 19:48at least to what we have been to for tax because it's like it's
- 19:54got like a wine bars, but they're like outdoorsy ones, you
- 19:58know, not like hoity toity and regular bars like kids, like zoo
- 20:04adults can go there too because I want to go and restaurants and
- 20:10just everything you can imagine in in town.
- 20:14And then to top it all off, the Airbnb's some of the cheapest
- 20:19prices. For some of the bougiest cabins
- 20:23like cabins cabins, the one we had so nice and I believe it is
- 20:31to date the cheapest Airbnb we have rented for how many rooms,
- 20:36beds, niceties, amenities, private hot tub, everything that
- 20:42it had. So it's fun to kick back off
- 20:46with that one. Course wise, they're still
- 20:49challenging but not strenuous on the knees.
- 20:53So that was very nice for me at least for it.
- 20:57But they still work with what they have and make it tough.
- 21:01So very excited to start off with Oklahoma and then after
- 21:05Oklahoma, they have a nice little break from tax intro BDC
- 21:104. And and reading.
- 21:13And reading, Yep, Yep, that's in the tournament side of things
- 21:16that you're going to be doing, but then straight from.
- 21:20I, I would like to briefly touch on Oklahoma as well.
- 21:24I agree with everything you said, but I think part of what
- 21:26also makes it a little more electric in people's vibe and
- 21:31and energy. So good is that I didn't even
- 21:36think of this in the past, but it's the, it's the first one of
- 21:39the schedule the whole tour for the tack as a whole.
- 21:43So I think that your vendors, the people at Tack, like the
- 21:48employees, everyone's kind of getting those like you're not
- 21:52burnt out yet. And.
- 21:55You're having fun because you haven't seen all your buddies in
- 21:57a while. So everyone's just in a good
- 21:59chipper mood and and I think that also sets a really nice
- 22:04tone for the event. I loved it and the the the cost
- 22:10effectiveness of the Airbnb's key right now.
- 22:15I will say the downside if if if you got a nitpick is that it's
- 22:20not really It's not super greatly close to an airport for,
- 22:29for people flying on. It's hard to travel to if you're
- 22:33flying so. Yeah, a car rental is required.
- 22:36Right now, this year we are flying to somewhere else to film
- 22:40with just one of the humblest poppers.
- 22:43One of the humblest poppers we're filming with before the
- 22:46event and then we're driving with that popper.
- 22:49Have we have we mapped how long or did he map how long that
- 22:52drive is from there to there? I think it's like 8 hours.
- 22:55It's not too. Bad.
- 22:56Geez, Martha. OK.
- 22:57Geez Martha, what do you mean? We're about to drive like 12 in
- 23:00a couple. Days, I know.
- 23:02OK. And then next total archery
- 23:05challenge that we will be going to after Bo Disciples Challenge
- 23:10344 Bo disciples.com is Vermont. Yeah, new one.
- 23:21Vermont, new state, new state and new tack unlocked.
- 23:25Yeah. Now here's what's interesting.
- 23:27We have not been, We have not been.
- 23:29So there's not a whole lot to speak of from experience.
- 23:33I will say from signing up though, it only has 3-4 courses.
- 23:39I'm sorry. So a pretty limited venue it
- 23:44would appear, but Vermont looks beautiful.
- 23:48I know they don't have billboards.
- 23:50I know it's a really pretty state.
- 23:51I know it's the home of the legend Bernie Sanders and show
- 23:56my boy Chuck Adams is from there, right?
- 23:58So we had to go for Chuck and I want to go.
- 24:00I wouldn't want to click off some of these other stops that
- 24:03are a little more avant-garde. I don't think too many people go
- 24:06into Vermont unless they live there.
- 24:08Most. Likely so interested to see like
- 24:11the vendor area for Vermont. And then it is on a ski resort
- 24:15though, so it just must be a smaller like mountain, you know?
- 24:18It's got ski lifts and everything.
- 24:20Yeah. So I imagine the the difficulty
- 24:25levels of the courses to still be decent because any ski resort
- 24:30one typically is more of your like up and downhill shots and
- 24:35things like that. And you know, kind of like a
- 24:42bonus for us is that Chuck is from Vermont and going with us.
- 24:46So even if the the days are short, because I mean, you do a,
- 24:52you do a course and we only got to do a course twice on one of
- 24:55the days in order if you want to do all four, because it's three
- 24:59days, four courses. So the other days, I mean, if
- 25:05Chuck has recommendations on things like to go do or
- 25:09restaurants to go try or you know, whatever it may be, we got
- 25:15the whole rest of the day to go do something.
- 25:19Yeah, I think it's going to be very fun.
- 25:21Which brings us to the third stop of the tour.
- 25:25Yeah, the third stop, just think of us as kind of like, what do
- 25:31they call those groupies? Like tag groupies?
- 25:34We're kind of like following the tour.
- 25:36Well, we are. Well, we're going to be on a
- 25:38road trip, so we sort of are. Yeah.
- 25:39So therefore, if that didn't give it away, if you don't know
- 25:42the tag schedule by heart yet, the next stop after Vermont is
- 25:48Pennsylvania, which is the biggest tack.
- 25:51It did, I believe now for like the last year or two, surpassed
- 25:56the size of Utah's tack, which used to be the biggest one.
- 25:59I don't think that's true. I do think that's true.
- 26:02I think they've said it. I'm pretty sure Pennsylvania's
- 26:04always been the largest. I don't know about that, but
- 26:08I'm. Pretty sure, but it's it's
- 26:09irrelevant. Yeah, who does?
- 26:12I have a. So yes, Pennsylvania, that is a
- 26:15four day. Event My Tack Pennsylvania is a
- 26:21four day tack and four days, 3-5 nights if you include your
- 26:28before tack starts and your when tack ends.
- 26:32We are going with a boatload of people, but that's what you do
- 26:37when you're going to the biggest tack we've got in our our
- 26:40Airbnb, which I'm looking forward to because you always
- 26:44know when you know you're going with a big group comes a big
- 26:48Airbnb. And this group contains me, you,
- 26:53Brittany Jean, outdoors, the one and only podium Archer, the Ty
- 26:59Jordan, right, I believe. I think so, yeah.
- 27:03Scotty Evans, That's right. You know the the bow.
- 27:07What's his name on TikTok? Bow Talk.
- 27:10Bow, Bow Boy and then the. Legend.
- 27:14Jeff Cordero and I believe his wife is coming as well.
- 27:18We haven't met her before, so that'll be fun.
- 27:20Have I forgotten anybody? Is Joey coming?
- 27:23And everyone's favorite degenerate of the happy fun
- 27:27bunch, Joey, is coming along, so it is going to be just.
- 27:31A massive group. And we're planning to add one
- 27:33more because one of the members of our group, I'm not going to
- 27:35say who is a very poor popper. Very poor popper.
- 27:39So we need more people in the house to get the cost out.
- 27:42Hey, I'm. A poor popper, please.
- 27:45I don't have a job, remember? Yeah.
- 27:47Please. So we are going to put one more
- 27:49person in the Airbnb. Which brings us to our 4th tack.
- 27:56Yeah. Which is one of the two
- 28:00Michigan's. It's Crystal Crystal Mountain.
- 28:03Crystal Mountain. Michigan one we're for sure
- 28:05doing. And we might also do the other
- 28:08Boyne Mountain, Michigan as well.
- 28:10I. Think it's just Boyne, Michigan.
- 28:12For for sure doing Crystal Mountain, Michigan.
- 28:15We might also too do Boyne, Michigan as well.
- 28:18But for definitely the one, maybe not not for sure the
- 28:21other, but possibly the other. So we will be in Michigan.
- 28:25Yeah, home of boning veins. OK.
- 28:30And we will. Hold our inspiration for
- 28:33basically going to that one. Correct.
- 28:35Lord willing, we will be doing some content with boning on that
- 28:40trip, possibly including some sort of factory tour,
- 28:45potentially, maybe talking to some of the fine American folks
- 28:49that are working there. And yeah, should be a heck of a
- 28:52lot of fun after that. We will be heading home all the
- 28:58way back to the great state of California, but.
- 29:01We don't know yet, but we don't know yet.
- 29:03But if you all have any collaborations that you would
- 29:08like to see the Happy fun bunch do on a nationwide road trip
- 29:14over the span of four to six weeks, drop them down below.
- 29:19Or maybe you know somebody. Maybe, you know, Matt Damon, OK,
- 29:23if you do, if you'd Or maybe, maybe, maybe Malcolm Stewart's
- 29:27watching this right now wants to show.
- 29:29You never right down the Florida.
- 29:30So if anyone knows somebody who you would like to see the Happy
- 29:34Fun Bunch film with and maybe RIP a pod, let them know or let
- 29:37us know or drop a comment because we are going to try to
- 29:40schedule a lot of content between all of these stops.
- 29:44And we do. Oh, I'm not going to spill the
- 29:48beans on it yet, but we do have a podcast.
- 29:50I'm very excited to go on on the trip.
- 29:55Oh, I'm excited. It's going to make for a very,
- 29:59let's just say basically to get to this place you estimated what
- 30:02was the drive time. 29 hours 29. Hours and BDC 4 ends Sunday
- 30:11afternoon. We.
- 30:12Pack up. Hold on.
- 30:13Let me, let me build up the dramatics of this.
- 30:16We have to pack up 60 targets, A merch booth, check in booth. 2
- 30:26Kawasakis. Two Kawasakis, the practice
- 30:29range, signage, cones, flags, all that afternoon because we
- 30:38need to hit the road by early as possible AM.
- 30:44Like if you wake up sometime in the middle of the night, just
- 30:47come wake me up and we'll get in the car and go Basically because
- 30:50we need to leave no later than like 5:00 AM.
- 30:57Monday morning to drive 29 hours with a stop or two to be
- 31:06somewhere by Wednesday. Now that is sound, it sounds
- 31:13terrible. I'm not excited about that
- 31:15cause. Well, when you say when you say
- 31:16it's 29 hours spanned over. Well, the thing.
- 31:22Is plus a little bit. The thing is motorcycles
- 31:24challenge is a lot of work and you never feel more drained than
- 31:30that Sunday night and the next day you feel just totally worked
- 31:33right pro to drive let's say 10 hours the next day and stay at a
- 31:41motel or something, whatever which I'm probably will be
- 31:45staying at a motel and get in the hot tub that sounds.
- 31:49Terrible. I think I'll be doing the first
- 31:52leg of the drive. Oh, do you?
- 31:55Oh, yeah. Because we're going to wake up
- 31:57early AF. We're going to stop at Duncan.
- 32:02I'm going to get me a full box of snacks.
- 32:05Yes, I am. And then I do well with early
- 32:09morning drives because I just set that cruise control.
- 32:12I sit crisscross applesauce. Believe me, if I ever got in a
- 32:14car accident on cruise control, just count me paralyzed from the
- 32:17waist down because I'm crisscross applesauce every
- 32:20single time. At minimum, one leg is up.
- 32:24But I do well with early morning drives because you only got a
- 32:28little bit of time in the dark and then that sun rises and
- 32:32you're nice and awake. I do not do well with evening
- 32:36drives because your eyes are already tired from driving
- 32:39whatever portion you did in the daylight.
- 32:41And then I have poor vision, especially at night.
- 32:44That's why I do have glasses that I'm supposed to wear while
- 32:47driving and so I can't read Rd. signs to save my life.
- 32:51Everything starbursting not good, not good at night.
- 32:57So I think I'll start the first leg.
- 32:58That way you can kind of nap, get rejuvenated and then the
- 33:02next leg it's all on you. I.
- 33:06Love napping in the car. I know that's like my favorite
- 33:09place tonight. But yeah, so that is our our
- 33:14tack schedule for 2026. Also, by the time this is out,
- 33:24my video should be out unless they scrap it, which if they do,
- 33:28this won't make any sense. But I should have a video coming
- 33:31out in collaboration with Total Archery Challenge, Valentine's
- 33:35Day thing, which should be after this.
- 33:38So this. It will because Valentine's Day
- 33:40is in like. It's next week, Yeah.
- 33:43Yeah. So, yeah.
- 33:44So if you saw that, basically we did a tough challenge.
- 33:49It's a couples challenge. I don't know how long they're
- 33:51going to run it for, but maybe like a month or something.
- 33:55So go watch it. It's on the Total Archery
- 33:57challenge page. It may also be on our page.
- 33:59Not entirely sure, But go try the challenge, watch it, try it
- 34:03and film it. And if you successfully pull it
- 34:07off, which is very hard to do, and it takes also some science
- 34:10to even make it possible, but if you do it, you have a chance to
- 34:14win two dozen victory arrows, which is a great deal.
- 34:17So go try it. It's tough.
- 34:20It's not one of those pretty challenges that just like, you
- 34:23pop a balloon and glitter flies everywhere and like, oh, I did
- 34:26it at 100 yards. You have some tape on hand, some
- 34:30scissors, some string, maybe a rock or two, maybe some floss.
- 34:38You just need a variety pack. Maybe even beef up the the item.
- 34:44You'll find out if you watch the video prior to starting.
- 34:49I would because that I think was key to even making the challenge
- 34:54possible. I didn't realize the force of an
- 34:56arrow's impact, especially when you were trying to do the
- 35:01challenge. I thought for sure you were
- 35:03going to get on the first try and it took me like 9 didn't
- 35:06turn out to be the case, but what you were shooting at was
- 35:10more flexible than mine. The weight had now changed.
- 35:20It just that was a tough one. That is tough.
- 35:25OK, good. Good.
- 35:27It was tough, but go check out the challenge.
- 35:29Two dozen victories up for grabs.
- 35:31That's great. Now you had a subject that you
- 35:34wanted to discuss about something about AI plants.
- 35:38Oh yeah, but I don't know, I, I have not, I'm not talking about
- 35:43vegetation guys. And I need to do more research.
- 35:47So this is going to come back up again.
- 35:49I don't know how long this pot been going.
- 35:51Right now it has been going approximately 34 minutes.
- 35:56OK, well I I might not cover in this one a ton because I
- 35:59definitely want to do some more research.
- 36:01It was, at least the premise. But the premise to it is that it
- 36:04was brought to my attention the other day on a phone call that
- 36:09as all this AI begins to become popular, like, I keep seeing
- 36:13this thing. Elizabeth posted 1 today,
- 36:16actually a funny one of like, not AI.
- 36:19It was her just holding a cup in the snow.
- 36:21And she's, like, seeing this and all the AI caricatures on my
- 36:25stories. And I've seen a boatload of them
- 36:27over this past week. Have you seen those?
- 36:30Yeah. Yeah.
- 36:33Ironically, I don't know where people.
- 36:35My algorithm must not be shelling me because I feel like
- 36:39as popular as I've been seeing it.
- 36:41I would see like you know the ads or whatever to like make the
- 36:46same type of character. You just do it on ChatGPT.
- 36:49He just had to copy. Oh, is that where everybody's
- 36:51doing it? Yes, you have to copy and paste
- 36:54the prompt that other people use and then it'll generate the
- 36:57image. Yes, see, I hadn't even noticed
- 36:59that. But anyways, so a eyes, it's
- 37:04growing. It's growing a lot, I mean,
- 37:07immensely just in the last few months.
- 37:11But I didn't know like AI takes an immense amount of power to
- 37:19generate the like essentially facility or power plant that
- 37:24runs AI. Like, think of it like back in
- 37:27the day when computers required like a whole room for what is
- 37:33now your monitor, you know, And that is like what AI is right
- 37:40now at its beginnings. It's takes an immense facility,
- 37:45huge, massive to generate the power to run AI.
- 37:52Maybe that'll scale down as AI evolves, as we evolve.
- 37:59AIII, don't know how you want to put it, but with these power
- 38:04plants, because they're so massive, they take an immense
- 38:08amount of water or cooling to keep these.
- 38:12Think of it like a giant computer and they create a lot
- 38:14of heat and you have to cool that heat down so that the
- 38:19computer doesn't overheat. And in a state, I don't know
- 38:24which state, so this is where my research needs to come back in.
- 38:28But it is dried like miles of or something of habitat all around
- 38:34the power plant because it's sucking in all of running water
- 38:40from the area to cool down the AI power plant or facility.
- 38:48And it's brought, it was brought up to my attention that, hey, as
- 38:54outdoors enthusiasts and conservationists, should we be
- 39:01like being so Willy nilly about AI, not for the sake of like AI
- 39:06is going to take over the world or, you know, you're not being
- 39:10as content creators, you're not being genuine with your content.
- 39:14Like none of those categories. But the main reason why outdoor
- 39:19content creators are here is to grow the space, to grow hunting,
- 39:26to grow knowledge of it. You know, at the end of the day,
- 39:30at the core, I think I would like to think that's why almost
- 39:33every true genuine hunting or outdoor content creator is here.
- 39:39And if you're just Willy nilly using AI, not knowing this, you
- 39:44are directly contributing to the need for these plants that is
- 39:49ruining massive amounts of habitat.
- 39:52That's what it boils down to. And how do you come back from
- 39:57that? You know, So I do want to do
- 40:02more research. Well, I have done a little bit
- 40:04of research. So it says AI data centers are
- 40:08putting significant strain on water resources, with studies
- 40:11suggesting that the sector could consume between 312.5 and 764.6
- 40:20billion liters of water annually by 2025.
- 40:24High water usage is primarily due to evaporative cooling
- 40:28systems, often called swamp coolers, which are used to micro
- 40:33swamp. Coolers.
- 40:35Which are used to manage the intense heat generated by AI
- 40:39servers. So yeah, it I think it's not
- 40:47going to be solved by people not utilizing AI.
- 40:50That's never going to happen. That's like the same argument of
- 40:53saying like we need people to stop using social media to save
- 40:58off road trails. Like that's never going to
- 41:00happen. People are going to use social
- 41:01media, they're going to use AI. Now what could help it is the
- 41:05technology getting better. So like making it run cooler,
- 41:10not needing as much water for the swamp coolers, making the
- 41:14machines run more efficiently. That's going to be the solution
- 41:18eventually. It's just.
- 41:20Sure, I think that solution will come because the tech will
- 41:23evolve and will, you know, humankind and smarty pants
- 41:27people who work on that stuff will come up with a way to make
- 41:32it evolve. But I think the the point was
- 41:34brought up because you're not going to stop the world from
- 41:39using AI. It's well, now that it's here,
- 41:41it's never going to go away. That's it.
- 41:44You're dumb if you think it is. Like you're just playing out
- 41:47stupid. Like we didn't invent rockets
- 41:49and then just decide to stop using them.
- 41:51We went to space and now created satellites and space stations
- 41:55and went to the moon and you know this.
- 41:57You're just not going to not do it anymore or not use it or not
- 42:00create it, whatever. But I think it's more of a an
- 42:05idea that a, a hunter who thinks conservation is important should
- 42:11keep in their mind when the thought comes to use AI or use
- 42:16it significantly. Because if there's a group of
- 42:18people that maybe should not be using it to, I don't want to say
- 42:24prove a point, but, you know, set to us of, you know, a
- 42:29standard of morals, I guess that like, hey, this does affect
- 42:33habitat. So it's not something it's like
- 42:37you recycle because plastic is bad for the environment.
- 42:41I actually recycle because I'm a cheap bastard and want that.
- 42:44Well, let's just say the majority of people should
- 42:45recycle beef. It's bad for the environment.
- 42:48You get what I'm saying? I do it for both.
- 42:50So yeah. But so likewise, if you use that
- 42:53metaphor or scenario analogy, you, if you are a
- 42:58conservationist that thinks habitat is important, you should
- 43:02therefore not use AI. I think that's a pretty simple
- 43:06step as one sole person or a community to take.
- 43:11But on the opposite or not opposite end with an additional
- 43:15point to be made here. It's not just not using AI if
- 43:20you're a conservationist or a hunter outdoor enthusiast, but
- 43:24it's also are you going back to this whole thing of like if
- 43:28you're a hunter or you're doing your part, so are you using your
- 43:33voice? Are you signing those?
- 43:35I know there's a huge 1 going on right now for petitions that are
- 43:38going to, you know, consider in one of the states, hunting to be
- 43:43illegal, literal hunting to be illegal.
- 43:46And also ranching. Yeah, ranching, trapping, all of
- 43:50it's up on the chopping block. So are you signing those
- 43:53petitions? Are you sharing, if you see one
- 43:56on your social media accounts for another hunter that you, you
- 43:59know, follows you to see it brings that point to an even
- 44:05higher precedent. Because if you don't speak up to
- 44:11conserve more habitat, well, if that habitat's not protected and
- 44:17huntable and managed, guess what?
- 44:20Companies can come in to buy up that land and drop another power
- 44:24plant and boom, there goes more habitat.
- 44:26So I think that's the bigger point to be made with AI is not
- 44:32just don't use AI, but are you doing your bigger part as a
- 44:35hunter and conservationists to keep lands managed and
- 44:39conserved? And if you are, great, because
- 44:44that means there is less land to throw AI power plants on.
- 44:47And therefore they have to be smart about where they choose to
- 44:49put them. And let's face it, there's tons
- 44:51of land in the United States. But yeah, I think that's the
- 44:56bigger point that probably out of that whole story and AI, you
- 45:06know, thing that came up is just are you doing your part?
- 45:12Very good. Very well said.
- 45:14Yeah, very well said. It's going to be an exciting
- 45:18year. We're going on a great road
- 45:21trip. It's.
- 45:21Going to be a long one. Great road trip.
- 45:23Some of the a lot of that content will be out after this
- 45:26podcast, so I'll I'll shell shell.
- 45:29Some of that with Rd. trips. I would like to say I would love
- 45:32so many things to drop in these comments.
- 45:34And men and women, please don't post trail mix.
- 45:39It's not not what I'm looking for.
- 45:41I'm looking for more of a creative snack here.
- 45:45I'm a sweet person, but I'm also on, you know, as you could call
- 45:49it the health journey and it's become, you could call it a
- 45:52little more liberal, but it's still health conscious, I guess.
- 45:56You know, you do have to fuel your body to gain muscle and
- 46:01strength and whatnot. And so you can't just starve
- 46:04yourself and not eat, you know, anything but health conscious
- 46:10creative snacks. Let me give you an example here
- 46:13of one that I'm about to go pick up some supplies to make
- 46:16tomorrow for our our upcoming road trip.
- 46:20They are protein, banana and blueberry.
- 46:26I think it's banana, I think no lemon, lemon and blueberry
- 46:34balls. So you take cottage cheese or
- 46:37you can substitute for Greek yogurt.
- 46:39Not a big cottage cheese fan, but you're supposed to blend it
- 46:41up. So I might try the cottage
- 46:44cheese. Cottage cheese or Greek yogurt.
- 46:48Lemon zest blueberries. I think it's you can either use
- 46:55gluten free like oats or almond flour of you know, your choice.
- 47:00I think for this one it's oats and then like honey or whatever,
- 47:04mix it all together, make them into little balls and then you
- 47:07either let them just set or you can bake them for like 15
- 47:10minutes. But and then if you want, you
- 47:15add that extra powder, vanilla, like protein powder, and they do
- 47:20have a significant amount of protein per little ball and then
- 47:24natural sugar. So you know, from your fruits
- 47:26and whatnot and honey. That's the kind of snack I'm
- 47:30looking for. I'm a good, I'm a good Baker.
- 47:33I'm a good, you know, I like things that require a recipe.
- 47:38Please don't tell me mixed raisins and M&M's together in a
- 47:43bag with some trail mix or to go buy a first form protein bar or
- 47:48something. One of some things that we could
- 47:51keep in a cooler in the back seat to have snacks to stop not
- 47:55stop at the gas station as much and pick up my favorite gummy
- 47:58worms. So if you have any of those
- 48:02creative snacks or your wives have any of those creative snack
- 48:05recipes, please drop them in the comments because I'm looking for
- 48:09some. I also found one for coconut
- 48:12cookies. I can't wait to make them.
- 48:17Well, there you have it folks. Drop in the comments.
- 48:19Good snack options. Creative.
- 48:22And creative and thank you very much for tuning in for another
- 48:26great week of the BDP and five stars Apple Spotify like and
