- 0:00Speaker 1: Out. Yes, I'm sorry, honey, I was wrong.
- 0:02Speaker 2: I'm sorry, honey, I was I answered that before the
- 0:05Speaker 2: question comes in.
- 0:07Speaker 1: Sorry, babes A thousand correct, I was wrong there.
- 0:13Speaker 2: Nope, I just looked up at the television screen in
- 0:16Speaker 2: here that Christiano Ronaldo has just scored for Portugal just
- 0:19Speaker 2: six minutes and seven minutes into their match against Uzbekistan.
- 0:23Speaker 2: All that talk about Ronaldo being washed up, he gets
- 0:25Speaker 2: a goal. He's strutting around, he's doing his thing, he's
- 0:28Speaker 2: dancing and sounds like he's the MJ of soccer? Really
- 0:32Speaker 2: from I don't I wouldn't.
- 0:34Speaker 1: Know is he? Is he not?
- 0:36Speaker 2: Yeah, there's a debate, of of course he'd so who
- 0:39Speaker 2: would be the MJ of soccer? Well it's hard, I
- 0:42Speaker 2: mean Peley to me growing up in the seventies, But
- 0:45Speaker 2: it's hard to argue that Lionel Messi is not the
- 0:48Speaker 2: greatest of all time?
- 0:49Speaker 1: Got it at least recency bias aside.
- 0:52Speaker 2: I mean, Ronaldo now is the second oldest scorer in
- 0:56Speaker 2: World Cup history.
- 0:57Speaker 1: He's forty one. Is that right?
- 0:59Speaker 2: First player to score in six different World Cups? That
- 1:02Speaker 2: just happened today, just a minute ago in Houston.
- 1:06Speaker 1: Well that's insane. Yeah, six World Cup.
- 1:09Speaker 2: I mean they happened every four years, right, So he's
- 1:11Speaker 2: been playing a World Cup for twenty four plus years.
- 1:14Speaker 1: Starting to add up. When you say he's forty plus,
- 1:17Speaker 1: I think he's forty one. That's not the top of
- 1:18Speaker 1: my head.
- 1:19Speaker 2: But I'm sure someone on the four nine, four or
- 1:21Speaker 2: five one to come at outs text line will set
- 1:23Speaker 2: me straight.
- 1:24Speaker 1: They tend to do that. You an honest man.
- 1:27Speaker 2: There's a lot of people that have a ratta on
- 1:29Speaker 2: there that like to do the corrections. That's interesting as
- 1:34Speaker 2: you go around and do day. He just waited for
- 1:36Speaker 2: someone to miss stay wrong. By the way I say
- 1:40Speaker 2: we together, Chris, you and I'd probably say fifty thousand
- 1:43Speaker 2: words in a two hour show.
- 1:45Speaker 1: And bam, one of them is wrong. Sorry, text line's
- 1:48Speaker 1: on it. Don't beat me up, guys. They're vigilant. Now,
- 1:51Speaker 1: that's good. I like that. Keeps just honest. Today.
- 1:54Speaker 2: So Chris and I are gonna talk more about that
- 1:56Speaker 2: Yannis Tray change in the NBA.
- 1:58Speaker 1: He thinks it's a good deal for the heat. We'll
- 2:00Speaker 1: talk about that.
- 2:01Speaker 2: Tomorrow's Mariners game at Pittsburgh is their eighty first game.
- 2:04Speaker 2: Of course, I'm pretty good at math right one hundred
- 2:07Speaker 2: and sixty two, games eighty one and midway point tomorrow
- 2:09Speaker 2: is the exact midway point. Who is the MVP of
- 2:13Speaker 2: this frustrating Mariners season so far? Who's the most valuable pitcher?
- 2:17Speaker 2: Which I think are two different questions. Who would you
- 2:20Speaker 2: say I have a guy who's my MVP? I don't
- 2:23Speaker 2: think it's even close.
- 2:24Speaker 1: And who's the candidates that's gonna get traded? Because it's
- 2:26Speaker 1: going to happen.
- 2:27Speaker 2: Jerry Depot is gonna make a deal, probably for a
- 2:30Speaker 2: reliever or for a high leverage guy, especially with the
- 2:33Speaker 2: bullpen having its injury issues.
- 2:36Speaker 1: Who's going to go?
- 2:38Speaker 2: If you listen to the show for the last month
- 2:40Speaker 2: and a half, you know what we've said and the
- 2:42Speaker 2: whole reason they're doing the piggyback thing. Good news for
- 2:45Speaker 2: the US team at the World Cup about Christian Polistic,
- 2:47Speaker 2: we'll talk about that, their superstar who's been out recently injured.
- 2:50Speaker 2: But bad news for Sounders fans hoping to see Christian
- 2:52Speaker 2: roll Don play Thursday against Turkey Dunn in Santa Clair.
- 2:55Speaker 2: That's a seven o'clock start on Fox Television.
- 3:00Speaker 1: O'clock.
- 3:00Speaker 2: I have another keyword to give you a chance to
- 3:01Speaker 2: win twenty five hundred dollars in their USA two fifty
- 3:04Speaker 2: K giveaway, and also at eleven o'clock right after that giveaway,
- 3:08Speaker 2: word keyword and Killian. She's been a mentor of mine
- 3:12Speaker 2: since I got in this business out of the Army
- 3:14Speaker 2: in the late nineties, the columnist for the San Francisco Chronicle.
- 3:18Speaker 2: She'll join us on the phone at eleven, just after
- 3:20Speaker 2: eleven o'clock from the Bay Area. She's going to cover
- 3:22Speaker 2: that US match tomorrow against Turkey. She's been following the
- 3:25Speaker 2: US team around the World Cup, and she can talk
- 3:29Speaker 2: about the forty nine ers. What the heck's up with
- 3:31Speaker 2: the Giants who are just on the field bad and
- 3:34Speaker 2: off the field worse than San Francisco Giants, said is
- 3:37Speaker 2: the baseball team. We'll talk to Ann Killian coming up
- 3:40Speaker 2: just after eleven o'clock from the Bay Area.
- 3:43Speaker 1: And then eleven thirty coursch your chance to be on
- 3:44Speaker 1: a part of the show.
- 3:45Speaker 2: Four nine, four to five one into the Coma Dodge
- 3:46Speaker 2: tech line. First question I'll ask in the text line. Today,
- 3:50Speaker 2: you heard the news that Tony Castricone is leaving the
- 3:52Speaker 2: Tampa Bay Buccaneers have announced he is the new voice
- 3:55Speaker 2: of the Buccaneers. Good for him, Yes, you know what
- 3:58Speaker 2: that has to be. I would think is that for
- 4:01Speaker 2: his family. He's got young children, and the NFL travel
- 4:04Speaker 2: schedule is I lived it is so much better than
- 4:07Speaker 2: major college I was the only traveling staff member who
- 4:13Speaker 2: traveled both with the football and basketball men's basketball team
- 4:15Speaker 2: at the University of Washington when I worked there twenty
- 4:18Speaker 2: ten to fourteen, And I can tell you to travel,
- 4:21Speaker 2: and I was before they went to the Big Ten.
- 4:24Speaker 2: But the travel was like basketball. We played Wednesday night
- 4:27Speaker 2: in Salt Lake City and then Sunday night and Boulder,
- 4:31Speaker 2: and sometimes they'd come back, and sometimes they'd stay on
- 4:33Speaker 2: the road and those kids would get players would get
- 4:36Speaker 2: tutors and take tests on Thursday and Friday, and some
- 4:39Speaker 2: of those trips, I mean, they were stretched out, especially
- 4:43Speaker 2: in basketball.
- 4:44Speaker 1: Now you had the Big Ten. On top of that, you're.
- 4:47Speaker 2: Going to Rutgers in Iowa and Michigan and Illinois and Wisconsin.
- 4:53Speaker 2: And so I bet he sees an NFL job and
- 4:56Speaker 2: saw that opening go off. The Decker Coffer, the long
- 5:02Speaker 2: time Tampa Bay Buccaneers voice, a legend down there in Florida,
- 5:06Speaker 2: had retired after the twenty twenty five seasons. A job
- 5:09Speaker 2: came up, and I'm sure he said, well, there's only
- 5:11Speaker 2: two day road trips. You leave on it Saturday for
- 5:14Speaker 2: a Sunday game, and you're back in the team's case,
- 5:16Speaker 2: you're on the team charter, you're back Sunday night. So
- 5:19Speaker 2: that's a much better deal for the family and travel.
- 5:22Speaker 2: So our best of Tony caster Cone. He's been on
- 5:23Speaker 2: all our shows and of course the voice of the
- 5:26Speaker 2: Huskies here on ninety three point three KJR for the
- 5:28Speaker 2: last nine years. So I asked him it to coming
- 5:30Speaker 2: touts text line four nine, four to five. Want to
- 5:32Speaker 2: start off to Joe, who would you like to be
- 5:34Speaker 2: the voice of the Huskies.
- 5:36Speaker 1: Who would you like? Chris? Oh, you're a kug. You
- 5:39Speaker 1: don't want anybody voice.
- 5:40Speaker 3: Yeah, you want it to be you want it to
- 5:41Speaker 3: be quiet. You know I'm not gonna. I won't do
- 5:43Speaker 3: that to him. You know, they could they I think
- 5:48Speaker 3: they'll do I think the right make the right move.
- 5:50Speaker 3: Maybe for more alum. Who knows, Maybe they already have
- 5:54Speaker 3: their guy or gyle. I'm not sure, but I'm sure
- 5:56Speaker 3: whoever they get will come in and do a phenomenal job.
- 5:59Speaker 3: But yeah, congrats against to Tony. He's been the sound
- 6:03Speaker 3: of the Huskies. He's an amazing guy, and I'm happy
- 6:07Speaker 3: for him. He gets to go down and live live
- 6:09Speaker 3: out the next twenty plus years in a sunny state,
- 6:14Speaker 3: sunshine throughout the year. Your Christmas now is going to be,
- 6:16Speaker 3: oh my gosh, it's sunny.
- 6:17Speaker 1: Yes, that's unless you get a green big game.
- 6:20Speaker 3: But yeah, well there's one way of looking at it
- 6:23Speaker 3: that is true.
- 6:23Speaker 2: Unless I'm just thinking like an NBA or an NFL
- 6:26Speaker 2: travel guy and where are your home are away? But yeah,
- 6:28Speaker 2: especially for him and his family, a great deal. As
- 6:31Speaker 2: I mentioned the day and a half road trips, or
- 6:33Speaker 2: even shorter in the Tampa's case. Here's why I said
- 6:37Speaker 2: four nine, four five one to come on Dodge tax sign.
- 6:39Speaker 2: Who would you like? There's the new voice of the
- 6:40Speaker 2: Huskies here on ninety three point three kJ R, with
- 6:44Speaker 2: Tony Casker leaving to be the Tampa Bay Buccaneer's voice.
- 6:48Speaker 2: I say this somewhat jokingly, but not really jokingly. I say,
- 6:51Speaker 2: Bob Rondo, bring him back. The legend the press bog
- 6:56Speaker 2: the is the radio booth, and Husky Stadium is named
- 6:59Speaker 2: for him. Chris and I have been in there calling
- 7:02Speaker 2: high school football championship games. The Bob Rondo press just
- 7:07Speaker 2: threw that in there for you. Give you a chet,
- 7:09Speaker 2: pet it up for you hit it.
- 7:11Speaker 1: But yeah, I know Bob listens.
- 7:13Speaker 2: We've been text and sometimes during shows and Ian show.
- 7:19Speaker 1: I know Dave Softy Maler's show.
- 7:22Speaker 2: I say that half jokingly, but the reverends all of
- 7:24Speaker 2: us have for Bob Rondo, I mean man. But now
- 7:28Speaker 2: Jason Hamilton, Jaham and Tony Castercona leaving in the same
- 7:32Speaker 2: at the same time. Jason Hamilton had already said he
- 7:35Speaker 2: was leaving the Husky men's basketball broadcast courts. He predates
- 7:38Speaker 2: Bob Rondo, or should say was with Bob Rondo, predates
- 7:42Speaker 2: Tony castor Combe. So there will be changes on my
- 7:45Speaker 2: like how it works in the industry. It's the IMG
- 7:48Speaker 2: Radio Network. I amg to Conglomerate Sports and Business Conglomerate
- 7:51Speaker 2: has bought up most of the rights a lot of
- 7:54Speaker 2: the rights of the top college football and basketball programs
- 7:57Speaker 2: around the country and including the University of Washington, and
- 8:00Speaker 2: they will have a say, although the athletic Department and
- 8:03Speaker 2: the Athletic Directorate, you'du Patrick Chung will have a chance
- 8:07Speaker 2: to weigh in, of course too at a Cris's point
- 8:09Speaker 2: about perhaps bringing in an aluma of some kind, no
- 8:12Speaker 2: doubt there will be a lot, a lot of applicants
- 8:16Speaker 2: for that job is the voice of the Huskies, and
- 8:18Speaker 2: the signature program is signature job here in the Pacific Northwest. Again,
- 8:22Speaker 2: our best to Tony Cassecro and his family hitting to
- 8:24Speaker 2: Tampa Bay to be the voice of the Buccaneers. And
- 8:27Speaker 2: if Barbarando's listening right now, he's probably come on, I'm
- 8:31Speaker 2: enjoying my life. I don't need to get on buses
- 8:34Speaker 2: and planes to Iowa City in Madison, Wisconsin. The great
- 8:40Speaker 2: bomb Roddough, that's who my voice would be for who
- 8:42Speaker 2: would you like the next voice of the Huskies? Four nine,
- 8:44Speaker 2: four to five one. Then coming out of text.
- 8:45Speaker 1: Time Christian Polistic practice.
- 8:48Speaker 2: Yesterday for the US team in the world kept training
- 8:50Speaker 2: first time more than a week. They're back in Irvine
- 8:53Speaker 2: after playing here against Australia there on Friday. Their camp
- 8:57Speaker 2: is down in Irvine, California.
- 8:58Speaker 1: They're going to.
- 8:59Speaker 2: Play in Los Angeles, US Turkey Thursday. The Americans have
- 9:02Speaker 2: already clinched winning their group, so they're already advanced to
- 9:05Speaker 2: the round of thirty two, so they might rest polistic
- 9:08Speaker 2: anyway and give them two full weeks off before the
- 9:10Speaker 2: games really matter and knockout stage next week. The US
- 9:14Speaker 2: will play in around the thirty two match on July
- 9:16Speaker 2: the first, and that'll be in Santa Clara, California, and
- 9:21Speaker 2: then if they win that, they will play the round
- 9:24Speaker 2: of sixteen here in Seattle. That's already determined that the
- 9:27Speaker 2: group winner from the United States group, if they win
- 9:30Speaker 2: the round of thirty two, plays back here in Seattle.
- 9:32Speaker 2: And can you imagine, Chris, the ticket prices and the
- 9:34Speaker 2: frenzy and the amount of people that were downtown on
- 9:39Speaker 2: a group stage match. For now, it would be it's
- 9:43Speaker 2: going to be a five pm kickoff on July sixth.
- 9:46Speaker 2: That would be tickets are already thirty five hundred dollars
- 9:49Speaker 2: right now for that round of sixteen match on the
- 9:52Speaker 2: secondary sites and it would only go up if the
- 9:54Speaker 2: United States wins that round of thirty two match. It's
- 9:58Speaker 2: appeared to be the match Thursday against Turkey, Christian Rodin
- 10:01Speaker 2: would play. He's not appeared in neither of the first
- 10:03Speaker 2: two US games at s World Cup of Rodin missed
- 10:05Speaker 2: training yesterday with an unspecified muscle strain.
- 10:09Speaker 1: He had not played, as I said, in the first
- 10:10Speaker 1: two games. He seemed disappointed.
- 10:12Speaker 2: He'd said all the right things in the Mixon on
- 10:13Speaker 2: Friday after the game here in Seattle, but he seemed
- 10:16Speaker 2: disappointed he didn't get into the match. So now Rodin's
- 10:19Speaker 2: status is up in the air for a game. It
- 10:21Speaker 2: looked like he was going to play that Friday game again.
- 10:25Speaker 2: Twenty plus million people around the country on a Friday
- 10:28Speaker 2: afternoon watching the US and Australia at Lumenfield. The Downtown
- 10:33Speaker 2: Seattle Association said Pineer Square had one hundred and fifty
- 10:37Speaker 2: thousand visitors from seven am to midnight through Pioneer Square
- 10:40Speaker 2: on foot traffic. That's based on a service that analyze
- 10:43Speaker 2: a cell phone activity in the area. But that doesn't
- 10:45Speaker 2: even count the out of nation international phone plans. And
- 10:51Speaker 2: you know that there were thousands. There were estimated to
- 10:54Speaker 2: be at least eight thousand Australians that march from Victory
- 10:58Speaker 2: Hall on First Avenue south into the stadium. And I
- 11:01Speaker 2: saw at least that many behind the south end zone,
- 11:04Speaker 2: in the upper corner of the upper deck and in
- 11:06Speaker 2: the east sideline. So let's say there were eight thousand
- 11:10Speaker 2: conservatively with all Australian plans, Canadians were there, Mexican fans
- 11:16Speaker 2: and the Mexico team their jerseys on Chris. There were
- 11:20Speaker 2: probably upwards one hundred and sixteen hundred and seventy thousand
- 11:22Speaker 2: people down in Piner Square, which is way more than
- 11:25Speaker 2: even this. A Taylor Swift concert in twenty twenty three
- 11:29Speaker 2: was the previous high for the last time they tracked
- 11:32Speaker 2: cell phone usage in the Piner Square. If you're bigger
- 11:35Speaker 2: than Taylor Swift, you're a pretty big deal. And that's
- 11:37Speaker 2: how big the went. By another estimate, the Australia and
- 11:42Speaker 2: US game was. And how again, how it's going to
- 11:45Speaker 2: even be bigger on a multiple like times two to
- 11:49Speaker 2: three when the United States comes in here for a
- 11:52Speaker 2: chance to play in the quarterfinals July sixteen six. Excuse me,
- 11:56Speaker 2: but let's not get ahead of ourselves. They have to
- 11:58Speaker 2: win the round of thirty two match first. You're still
- 12:02Speaker 2: Nott going criss. I know the ticket prices are ridiculous.
- 12:05Speaker 3: No, I will not be down there for that, not
- 12:08Speaker 3: even the pier or one of the watch parties, or
- 12:11Speaker 3: take your wife to see the Seattle Center. She's usual,
- 12:13Speaker 3: so her schedules are working usually the weekends, so maybe
- 12:18Speaker 3: on a Wednesday we can go down there. But you know,
- 12:22Speaker 3: she she might. We'll see I won't. I won't say no.
- 12:25Speaker 3: We'll see she didn't want to go to downtown. I
- 12:27Speaker 3: think today actually when after I get my hair cut, so.
- 12:30Speaker 1: We'll have to your haircut. It's pretty short my beard.
- 12:34Speaker 3: Man, Now that I cut my beard off, my hair
- 12:37Speaker 3: grows back really fast, so no one cares on YouTube
- 12:40Speaker 3: about what I look like. But any who, we plan
- 12:42Speaker 3: on going. I just don't know when. I won't say never,
- 12:45Speaker 3: I hope.
- 12:45Speaker 1: So you should see.
- 12:46Speaker 2: It's it's not gonna happen again, or at least not
- 12:48Speaker 2: for a long long time, probably never again for us
- 12:51Speaker 2: in Seattle, right, because it might not after how successful
- 12:54Speaker 2: this is. But if the United States gets it back,
- 12:56Speaker 2: maybe the US would be a primary place to have it.
- 12:59Speaker 2: But the last time, in ninety four, of course, there
- 13:02Speaker 2: was not a Seattle match, and so this is the
- 13:05Speaker 2: first time the World Cup has ever been here. My
- 13:07Speaker 2: son and I are going to the Egypt Iran match.
- 13:10Speaker 2: It's a it's a playing match Friday night. It's the
- 13:12Speaker 2: only night game. He just excitedly told me, texted me
- 13:15Speaker 2: that he got his ticket.
- 13:16Speaker 1: Hey dad, you know, do a little money down. Yeah,
- 13:18Speaker 1: I'll be there. He did. He put a little bit
- 13:20Speaker 1: of money down. I know, more than cheap.
- 13:23Speaker 3: But it's, as you mentioned, it's a once in a
- 13:25Speaker 3: lifetime thing, and you why not. You only live once
- 13:28Speaker 3: as far as we know. So yeah, go in and
- 13:30Speaker 3: go out. Exactly that cool.
- 13:32Speaker 2: Chris mentioning the iHeartRadio or the YouTube page. Yep, thanks
- 13:36Speaker 2: for watching on the YouTube pages. Might be wondering why
- 13:38Speaker 2: I'm all dressed up, got a linen suit.
- 13:41Speaker 1: Like he about to deliver a speech of his life.
- 13:43Speaker 1: I got a first day of school. I'm going to
- 13:46Speaker 1: u deb right after the show and teaching my first class,
- 13:48Speaker 1: Like I just graduated some guys, and now you're talking
- 13:50Speaker 1: about their first day of.
- 13:51Speaker 2: Exactly the new cohort in the intercollegiate Intercollegiate Athletic Leadership Program.
- 13:56Speaker 3: Take a breather, man, No, Chris, it's cool, man. I
- 13:59Speaker 3: like talking of these kids growing up. Man, it's awesome.
- 14:02Speaker 1: Man.
- 14:02Speaker 2: All right, this is my chance to teach before Seahawks
- 14:04Speaker 2: start my summer end. So oh that's one way of
- 14:06Speaker 2: looking at it. Yeah, Chris, Then I really have to work.
- 14:08Speaker 2: I don't have any days off. It's a grind for
- 14:11Speaker 2: the next seven time with.
- 14:12Speaker 1: You every day.
- 14:12Speaker 2: I'm not no days off, but yes, I'm going to
- 14:15Speaker 2: teach at the University of Washington graduate students in there
- 14:19Speaker 2: one day like a student you should that would be
- 14:21Speaker 2: a blast. I've had people. My wife did that one
- 14:24Speaker 2: time to me. I've been teaching for fourteen years and
- 14:26Speaker 2: one time she came in surprised me. And then my
- 14:29Speaker 2: son did that one time, did you I almost threw
- 14:33Speaker 2: him out. I almost threw him out, but no, he
- 14:37Speaker 2: got to stay. But I think it was my daughter.
- 14:40Speaker 2: I can't remember which. I've done it for fourteen years,
- 14:41Speaker 2: but yeah, I'm honored to do it today. Actually, I'm
- 14:45Speaker 2: teaching about Mike McDonald's ways with the Seahawks, their leadership princes.
- 14:48Speaker 1: Power point. Oh yeah, I have a PowerPoint.
- 14:51Speaker 3: I haven't added color this year, almost like Greg was
- 14:55Speaker 3: old school.
- 14:55Speaker 1: Yeah, black and white, no pictures black and white and
- 15:00Speaker 1: fellas if I had an overhead projector, I would use it.
- 15:03Speaker 2: I would just throw that damn slide on there, the
- 15:05Speaker 2: ascetate slide and roll now. But yeah, yeah, I actually
- 15:09Speaker 2: I had color. The students don't know what they're in
- 15:11Speaker 2: for man.
- 15:11Speaker 1: It's about deal, Christer Bell, You've you stepped up in life.
- 15:14Speaker 1: Look at you, man. They're all brand new students year
- 15:17Speaker 1: every year.
- 15:18Speaker 2: It's a year long program, so they don't know the
- 15:19Speaker 2: difference that they don't know that it was burnt Barney
- 15:22Speaker 2: rubble and front flintstone before.
- 15:24Speaker 1: I'm actually stupp.
- 15:25Speaker 3: Living in the ancient times BC with using this, Thanks
- 15:30Speaker 3: mister Bell.
- 15:32Speaker 2: Next half white point of the Marina season. Who's your
- 15:35Speaker 2: Mariner's MVP so far? Most valuable player and most valuable pitcher?

- 16:16Speaker 1: I'm a Northwest Portugal too.
- 16:19Speaker 2: U Bekistan won twenty nine minutes into the World Cup
- 16:22Speaker 2: match there. England also plays today another tournament favorite, The
- 16:27Speaker 2: Mariners play today. They were off yesterday. They're in Pittsburgh,
- 16:30Speaker 2: three game series, night game, night game, day game, night
- 16:34Speaker 2: game for US at three forty Pacific time, six'. Forty
- 16:38Speaker 2: back In pittsburgh. Tonight George kirby's on the. Mound The
- 16:41Speaker 2: mariners a game and a half up in The American
- 16:43Speaker 2: League west by the fact that they're only a game
- 16:46Speaker 2: over five. Hundred team's Most Valuable players so far text four,
- 16:50Speaker 2: nine four to five one at The Coma dodge text
- 16:52Speaker 2: line the QUESTION i asked at the top of the.
- 16:53Speaker 1: Show, also who would you want to Replace Tony castricone
- 16:57Speaker 1: is the voice of The.
- 16:58Speaker 2: HUSKIES a couple good answers about that, already we'll read
- 17:01Speaker 2: those back at eleven. Thirty but who's YOUR, mvp most
- 17:04Speaker 2: valuable player and most valuable pitcher of The mariners first
- 17:07Speaker 2: half of the. Season tamar's game will be the exact
- 17:09Speaker 2: midpoint eighty one games into the one hundred.
- 17:11Speaker 1: And sixty two game.
- 17:12Speaker 2: Season, CHRIS i, say the most valuable player in The
- 17:15Speaker 2: Mariners Cole. Young all, right all, RIGHT i mean like,
- 17:19Speaker 2: THAT i get.
- 17:20Speaker 1: It Randy, Rosarino Julio.
- 17:22Speaker 3: Rodriguez but you wan with a blue, collar blue, chipper
- 17:26Speaker 3: someone that's under the.
- 17:27Speaker 2: Radar, okay rocket second. Base here's why he's been a
- 17:31Speaker 2: rocket second. Base key hits that opposite, field two, strike
- 17:35Speaker 2: two out ground to the left. Side the other day
- 17:37Speaker 2: on a pitch outside that won the Game.
- 17:39Speaker 1: Sunday is exactly how you should Play Major league.
- 17:42Speaker 2: BASEBALL a pitcher wants to stay away from you with
- 17:44Speaker 2: two strikes and runner at second hit it the other,
- 17:47Speaker 2: way hit it where it's, pitched hit it through the,
- 17:49Speaker 2: infield beat the. Shift shortstop is playing over to the,
- 17:52Speaker 2: bag bam through the left.
- 17:53Speaker 1: Side run. Scores no trying to pull, it no trying
- 17:56Speaker 1: to kill, it no trying to hit a two run.
- 17:57Speaker 1: Home just hit the ball to the opposite field and
- 18:00Speaker 1: get the runner. Home and he. Did you, know he's
- 18:03Speaker 1: the Only mariners played in all seventy nine.
- 18:05Speaker 2: Games who would have thought. That that's how this season has.
- 18:09Speaker 2: Gone everybody else pretty much hurt. Cold emerson at shortstop
- 18:13Speaker 2: just came on later in the, season but everyone else Got.
- 18:17Speaker 1: Raley Julia, Rodriguez RANDY.
- 18:19Speaker 2: A roserena currently on the Injurleiut Brendan donovan's barely played
- 18:23Speaker 2: since the first weeks of the. Season but There's Cole
- 18:25Speaker 2: young out there every day at second, base seventy nine.
- 18:28Speaker 1: Games he's MY.
- 18:30Speaker 2: Mvp to, me he plays a Sterling sterling second base
- 18:34Speaker 2: could play, shortstop of course. Two but now they get
- 18:35Speaker 2: the ninety three million dollar guy at Cold emerson at
- 18:40Speaker 2: short he's MY. Mvp plus he's From. Pittsburgh that raises
- 18:44Speaker 2: his stock in my mind.
- 18:45Speaker 1: Too most valuable.
- 18:47Speaker 2: PITCHER i could easily see a lot of people in
- 18:50Speaker 2: the text line already saying, it AND i can see.
- 18:52Speaker 2: Why Logan, gilbert who's had really just two subpar starts
- 18:56Speaker 2: of five run outing In april against The, yankees a
- 18:59Speaker 2: seven run out a couple of weeks, ago that's.
- 19:01Speaker 1: It he's otherwise been really, good and.
- 19:04Speaker 2: Those two bad relative bad outings five and seven runs
- 19:07Speaker 2: of the balloon To zra above three otherwise be. Wobbelow
- 19:10Speaker 2: BUT i, Say bryce Miller man has he been. GOOD
- 19:14Speaker 2: i know he didn't debut until Mid may because he
- 19:16Speaker 2: was coming off the injured.
- 19:17Speaker 1: List he's got a one five EIGHT.
- 19:20Speaker 2: ERA i, mean that's Like Sandy kofax, stuff especially in
- 19:24Speaker 2: this day and age where three plus is considered really.
- 19:26Speaker 2: Good he's one five eight In zra through six, starts
- 19:30Speaker 2: he's allowed only twenty three hits through six.
- 19:32Speaker 1: Starts that's fewer than four a.
- 19:33Speaker 2: Game the last four starts hits allowed For Bryce miller, one, one,
- 19:38Speaker 2: four and. Three he has forty three strikeouts to just five.
- 19:42Speaker 2: Walks the only thing Stopping Bryce miller The. Mariners they're
- 19:48Speaker 2: taking him out of, games and THAT i know they're.
- 19:51Speaker 1: Trying we talked about why they're doing the piggyback And Luis,
- 19:54Speaker 1: castile and again On friday they did it. Again five,
- 19:57Speaker 1: innings he's. Shoving he had seven, rikeouts only about three
- 20:01Speaker 1: hits in a run to The Red Sox friday, night
- 20:03Speaker 1: five innings, yanked here Comes. Castillo they lose five to.
- 20:06Speaker 2: One and we said many times from the start why
- 20:10Speaker 2: they're doing this With castillo piggybacking is they don't want
- 20:13Speaker 2: to banish them to the bullpen because they can't trade
- 20:15Speaker 2: that contract with twenty four million dollars this, year next
- 20:18Speaker 2: year and an option year of twenty twenty, eight they
- 20:21Speaker 2: can't do that as a. Reliever he'd be by far
- 20:23Speaker 2: the highest paid reliever in the. League set up. Reliever
- 20:25Speaker 2: so here's what you. Get you get this roving. Piggyback
- 20:29Speaker 2: But Bryce miller has been the one who's been piggybacked
- 20:32Speaker 2: the most because it of course started for a couple
- 20:34Speaker 2: starts of him In castillo sharing the. Time but just
- 20:38Speaker 2: Let Bryce miller. PITCH i Heard Bill krueger say that
- 20:41Speaker 2: yesterday on our. Station just let him. Pitch if you're
- 20:45Speaker 2: really serious about, winning Keep Bryce miller in the game
- 20:48Speaker 2: for seven innings and see how that. GOES i think
- 20:50Speaker 2: he's the most viable pitcher on this team right. Now
- 20:53Speaker 2: it brings us to the answer the other QUESTION i
- 20:55Speaker 2: had on the text line four, nine four to five to,
- 20:56Speaker 2: one who's The mariner most likely to be?
- 20:59Speaker 1: Traded?
- 20:59Speaker 2: CHRIS i think you AND i can be an agreement
- 21:02Speaker 2: on that INITIALS. Lc, yeah they're. Trying that's the whole
- 21:05Speaker 2: reason doing the. Piggyback they're trying to keep him in
- 21:07Speaker 2: a semi pseudo starting role so some team will bite
- 21:11Speaker 2: on him And Luis castillo will see if they can
- 21:15Speaker 2: deal his. Contract he's by far the sixth of six
- 21:18Speaker 2: pitchers in my mind right, now Especially Emerson hancock has,
- 21:22Speaker 2: emerged but you cannot market him.
- 21:24Speaker 1: Elsewhere as a. Reliever you've got to have. Him saying,
- 21:27Speaker 1: well he's still a, starter would just? Happenough six of?
- 21:29Speaker 3: Them what do you, think who's YOUR, Mvp. CHRIS i
- 21:33Speaker 3: hate to be the guy that breaks little, news but
- 21:36Speaker 3: it's worthy because we had talked about it for the
- 21:39Speaker 3: last last, week at least the whole, week So ian
- 21:43Speaker 3: ropperport just to tweet it. Out THE nfl has informed
- 21:46Speaker 3: teams that it will not be holding a supplemental, draft
- 21:49Speaker 3: Meaning Texas tech Quarterback Brendan sowarsby will not be eligible
- 21:53Speaker 3: to enter THE nfl in twenty twenty. Six THE cba
- 21:57Speaker 3: allows the lead to decide whether the whole is supple
- 22:00Speaker 3: draft and this year not.
- 22:02Speaker 1: Happening thank you for. That who mentioned that like two
- 22:05Speaker 1: weeks ago or whatever this came. Out, yeah you've been on.
- 22:08Speaker 1: It everyone has been Saying Brendan, soresby, this what team
- 22:12Speaker 1: would take? Him And i'm, like hold a, minute you
- 22:14Speaker 1: got to get approved to get into this supplemental. Draft,
- 22:16Speaker 1: yep and He. Chris this answers the question of what
- 22:20Speaker 1: THE nfl thinks of what he. Did it's the core
- 22:22Speaker 1: of the integrity of the. Game.
- 22:24Speaker 2: Yeah now we can go back and forth about how
- 22:26Speaker 2: they're in bed with DraftKings and all the other stuff
- 22:28Speaker 2: and live betting IN nfl, games and you can't THEY
- 22:32Speaker 2: i was gonna say you, can't but, yes in the NFL's,
- 22:34Speaker 2: case you can slice it both ways and court the
- 22:36Speaker 2: betting and take the, money but then bang on people who.
- 22:39Speaker 2: Bet but players quarterbacks have the ball in his hand every.
- 22:43Speaker 2: Time so you know what happened here is THE, nfl no.
- 22:47Speaker 2: Doubt the league office talked to the teams and talked
- 22:51Speaker 2: to team gms and, said what do you think would
- 22:53Speaker 2: you draft this? Guy and it must have been thirty
- 22:55Speaker 2: two out of thirty, two maybe thirty four out of
- 22:57Speaker 2: thirty two said hell, No and that's why they're not having.
- 23:00Speaker 2: This it does surprise me somewhat, though because it does
- 23:03Speaker 2: open them up to a, lawsuit and we've already, seen if,
- 23:06Speaker 2: nothing that the college players and their agents love to.
- 23:10Speaker 1: Sue, yep and here comes a, lawsuit right a. Win
- 23:14Speaker 1: though they're not. WORRIED i would, think, so, yeah they
- 23:16Speaker 1: get they got.
- 23:17Speaker 3: Money, okay they're in the, billions, baby they'll Be, okay
- 23:20Speaker 3: they'll hire the best.
- 23:21Speaker 1: Lawyer don't.
- 23:22Speaker 2: WORRY i it's it is funny how the news cycle
- 23:26Speaker 2: in modern, journalism if you call it, JOURNALISM i put air.
- 23:29Speaker 2: Quotes if you're on, YouTube work and, okay he's going
- 23:32Speaker 2: to supplemental. Draft AND i remember at the, TIME i,
- 23:34Speaker 2: said who's saying he's going to supplemental?
- 23:37Speaker 1: Draft the. Agent nobody's talking to THE nfl about. This
- 23:40Speaker 1: the agent just unilaterally, Declared, hey you're going to the supplemental.
- 23:43Speaker 1: Draft that's how we'll get you playing football this. Year
- 23:45Speaker 1: AND i was, like, wait, wait wait a, minute there's
- 23:48Speaker 1: a process, here and the very first step is you
- 23:50Speaker 1: got to get approved for a supplement of. Theft they
- 23:53Speaker 1: have not had a supplemental draft in THE nfl since
- 23:55Speaker 1: twenty twenty. Three they've not had a player drafted in
- 23:58Speaker 1: a supplemental draft since two thousand. Nineteen we talked about.
- 24:01Speaker 2: That the safety From Washington State, thompson who went To,
- 24:06Speaker 2: arizona The Arizona cardinals and has carved out a really
- 24:08Speaker 2: good career for himself at a good season last. Year
- 24:10Speaker 2: that's the last one to have made it this. Route
- 24:13Speaker 2: so it was not A fata.
- 24:14Speaker 1: Complete AS i kept saying that that this isn't gonna,
- 24:17Speaker 1: happen and now it's, not according To Ian rappaport's, report but.
- 24:22Speaker 2: Here comes a. Lawsuit you know. It but To chris's,
- 24:24Speaker 2: point lawyer, up NFL's pretty good at that, too, Yep
- 24:29Speaker 2: fortnite four five. One your reaction to that breaking. News
- 24:33Speaker 2: that just it's a good lesson of how the knee
- 24:37Speaker 2: jerk reactions to things in sports and politics and in,
- 24:39Speaker 2: life it ain't always what it, seems and it is
- 24:42Speaker 2: always more, nuanced almost always more nuanced and. Detailed and
- 24:45Speaker 2: there were many more facets to something than meets the.
- 24:47Speaker 2: Eye and this is another case of. That and here we.
- 24:51Speaker 2: Go so Now Brendan sorosby is doing what a college
- 24:55Speaker 2: guy who did what he did should, do and that's
- 24:58Speaker 2: learn and that's AND i KNOW i saw sanctimonious on
- 25:03Speaker 2: a high horse, here but isn't that what college is
- 25:05Speaker 2: supposed to, Be that you learn life lessons and when
- 25:07Speaker 2: you screw, up you get slapped and you go, ooh that.
- 25:10Speaker 1: HURT i won't do that.
- 25:11Speaker 2: Again it isn't let's go find THE nfl team to
- 25:14Speaker 2: give us ten million dollars and they'll just keep playing. Football,
- 25:17Speaker 2: no it's, uh, OH i did something wrong that it
- 25:20Speaker 2: does the integrity of the, sport And i'm going to
- 25:23Speaker 2: pay a price for. That and this, price as it
- 25:25Speaker 2: stands right, now is that he will not play football
- 25:27Speaker 2: for anybody this, year not college not Pro and Last,
- 25:31Speaker 2: chris he goes to THE cfl or to an arena
- 25:35Speaker 2: league or other refugee places that you go.
- 25:37Speaker 1: In THE nfl won't take. You but what's going to
- 25:40Speaker 1: keep THE cfl from, saying, eh we don't want them.
- 25:42Speaker 3: Either, yeah they have a bunch of mid tier players
- 25:46Speaker 3: that are looking for an. Opportunity so this is a
- 25:47Speaker 3: kid that's, okay did something really? Stupid this is your air, quote,
- 25:53Speaker 3: redemption your? Tour can you come in, here lead us
- 25:57Speaker 3: to a? Playoff, oh you've been. Clean that looks good
- 25:59Speaker 3: FOR nfl. Resume maybe AN nfl team takes a chance on,
- 26:02Speaker 3: you not saying you'll never have a chance in THE.
- 26:04Speaker 1: Nfl but there there's a program out there for.
- 26:07Speaker 3: You if that makes. Sense someone's gonna be, like we'll
- 26:09Speaker 3: take you. In we need your skill. Set we believe
- 26:12Speaker 3: you've changed the whole sorry. Spill we believe you're a
- 26:15Speaker 3: better man than what you were last.
- 26:16Speaker 1: Year and that's.
- 26:17Speaker 3: Fair so we'll see what happened with sores view over
- 26:20Speaker 3: the next what year to see where he goes and
- 26:22Speaker 3: what he plans on.
- 26:23Speaker 1: Doing it doesn't sound it's gonna be THE, nfl and
- 26:25Speaker 1: it's not college. Football. Nope so that's The Brendan soizby.
- 26:28Speaker 1: Case thanks For chris for.
- 26:29Speaker 2: That Christiano ronaldo just scored again For, portugal two goals
- 26:33Speaker 2: today in the first thirty nine. Minutes they're up three
- 26:35Speaker 2: to nothing because It's beccistan's goal ended up not counting
- 26:38Speaker 2: three nothing in That World cup game down In. Houston,
- 26:41Speaker 2: Ronaldo Christiana ronaldo with two goals, Today So portugal is
- 26:46Speaker 2: rebounding after its initial slow start to the. Tournament up,
- 26:49Speaker 2: Next chris AND i are going to talk about what
- 26:50Speaker 2: The giannis traded from The bucks to The heat has
- 26:53Speaker 2: done to those teams to THE.
- 26:54Speaker 1: Nba it's, seismic seismic.
- 26:56Speaker 2: Trade eleven o'clock And kellyan from The San Francisco chronicle
- 26:59Speaker 2: to talk about The World, cup the forty nine, ers
- 27:01Speaker 2: what the heck The giants are doing? Right and on
- 27:02Speaker 2: their caps At San Francisco. Giants that is the baseball
- 27:06Speaker 2: team that's all coming up a ninety three point THREE.
- 27:08Speaker 2: Kjrfm welcome back to The Greg Belt show With christopher
- 27:21Speaker 2: Kidd ivan ninety three point THREE. Kjrfm chris told me
- 27:27Speaker 2: yesterday when we came into the, Show jannis is gonna
- 27:29Speaker 2: get traded probably today or.
- 27:31Speaker 1: Tonight we'll probably talked about that. Tomorrow that's, okay and
- 27:35Speaker 1: he was. Right last.
- 27:36Speaker 2: Night jannis was traded from the two time LEAGUE mvp the.
- 27:40Speaker 2: FINALS mvp got The Milwaukee bucks a, championship but The
- 27:44Speaker 2: bucks have traded him to The Miami heat for four,
- 27:47Speaker 2: players one of THEM i think is an All. Star
- 27:50Speaker 2: three first round, picks including the thirteenth pick in today's
- 27:53Speaker 2: draft in round, one plus a second round Pick chris
- 27:59Speaker 2: is a, big big. DEAL i, mean this is when
- 28:02Speaker 2: they talked about this money and this. Pedigree that's why
- 28:04Speaker 2: all the players and the draft. Picks but you think
- 28:07Speaker 2: That Miami heat made out. Here oh, yeah this is.
- 28:10Speaker 3: So when you think about The Miami, heat you think
- 28:13Speaker 3: About lebron's time there and then there was like a
- 28:16Speaker 3: gap and Then Jimmy. Butler those are the two time. Periods,
- 28:20Speaker 3: obviously Before lebron and all, that there Was Tim. Hardaway
- 28:23Speaker 3: we can go on A lonzo, morning but there have
- 28:25Speaker 3: been periods where they had, stars. Megastars Jimmy butler was
- 28:28Speaker 3: their last. Star he's not a. Megastar he's a star
- 28:31Speaker 3: in the. League like everyone knows Who Jimmy buckets. Is
- 28:34Speaker 3: they haven't had that in six plus. Years The bubble
- 28:37Speaker 3: was the last time and they lost To lebron The.
- 28:39Speaker 3: Lakers now you bring in someone Like, giannis who IS
- 28:42Speaker 3: i would consider a. Megastar he puts butts in, Seats
- 28:46Speaker 3: he's a phenomenal two way. Player this is a good
- 28:49Speaker 3: move for The Miami heat that has been stuck in
- 28:51Speaker 3: the position of we're a play in team or we
- 28:54Speaker 3: don't make the. Playoffs last year they won forty three
- 28:57Speaker 3: games and with a tenth seat you, had.
- 29:00Speaker 1: Honest now you're with the healthy.
- 29:03Speaker 3: Honess, obviously you're looking at a team that could potentially
- 29:05Speaker 3: get fifty wins and that puts you right in the
- 29:09Speaker 3: course for making the playoffs and going to at least
- 29:11Speaker 3: The Eastern Conference finals where you would face The knicks
- 29:14Speaker 3: or The.
- 29:14Speaker 1: Celtics.
- 29:15Speaker 3: Right, so this is a big move for Pat, riley
- 29:17Speaker 3: who is tired of being, losing just tired of not
- 29:21Speaker 3: being good. Enough because they they've had talented, players they just.
- 29:24Speaker 1: Can't they don't have a.
- 29:25Speaker 3: Star they don't have a, star and if you don't
- 29:26Speaker 3: have a star on your, team it's very hard for
- 29:28Speaker 3: you to get to that next level where it's the,
- 29:30Speaker 3: PLAYOFFS Nba.
- 29:31Speaker 1: Championship you name. It you look at.
- 29:33Speaker 3: Those final two teams that are in the, playoffs they
- 29:35Speaker 3: had Superstars Jalen, Brunson Victor, winbinyama and they had also
- 29:39Speaker 3: really good pieces to go along with.
- 29:40Speaker 1: It Miami heat has always had good.
- 29:42Speaker 3: Pieces Pat riley has never had an issue with finding
- 29:45Speaker 3: The Greg bells And christopher kids that play well and
- 29:47Speaker 3: the thing do their. Job but now it's time to
- 29:50Speaker 3: go beyond that and try to go after the big,
- 29:52Speaker 3: thing which is winning a.
- 29:53Speaker 1: Championship so you always make a trade for that guy
- 29:56Speaker 1: if he's.
- 29:57Speaker 3: AVAILABLE i Think Pat robley would take him at any
- 29:59Speaker 3: point in time if he needed that, megastar and this
- 30:02Speaker 3: was the. Time now you Have jiannis And, bam who
- 30:06Speaker 3: defensively are gonna be just. Phenomenal Because bam was already
- 30:09Speaker 3: good as a defensive player without, him and now you Have.
- 30:11Speaker 3: Giannis they're gonna be able to switch a lot of.
- 30:13Speaker 3: Things the only question, mark, obviously is the. Shooting you
- 30:16Speaker 3: look at the starting, lineup it doesn't, scream, oh they're
- 30:18Speaker 3: gonna be the number one. SEED i don't think they
- 30:20Speaker 3: were looking at that, Way BUT i do Believe pat's
- 30:22Speaker 3: going to this summer be very busy getting free agents
- 30:25Speaker 3: to come down there Because. GIANNIS i think a lot
- 30:27Speaker 3: of players like to play With. Yannis he's a selfless.
- 30:29Speaker 3: Guy he's all about the game and. Family he's never
- 30:33Speaker 3: been in any. Trouble so this is a player that Fits.
- 30:35Speaker 3: Miami heats culture, Right he's gonna come. In he's, coachable,
- 30:39Speaker 3: Perfect Eric spolcher one of the best coaches in the.
- 30:42Speaker 3: Game so when you look at it from that, standpoint
- 30:44Speaker 3: it's a win for this. Organization it's a win For.
- 30:46Speaker 3: Yannis he gets to get out Of. Milwaukee i've never
- 30:48Speaker 3: been To. MILWAUKEE i don't know IF i.
- 30:51Speaker 2: City great, city a lot of, character a lot of,
- 30:54Speaker 2: history good.
- 30:55Speaker 3: People but, YEAH i feel bad for. Them they just
