- 0:01Speaker 1: Welcome to the favorites, your go-to NFL betting show, all
- 0:13Speaker 1: part of the action network family of podcasts. I'm Brandon Kravitz,
- 0:16Speaker 1: your host back at it with the first lady, Kendra
- 0:19Speaker 1: Middleton on today's episode, the divisional previews continue to left,
- 0:24Speaker 1: both out West to really strong divisions. to break down
- 0:29Speaker 1: on Yulo Piro from Denver sports. 104.3 is going to
- 0:33Speaker 1: join us today. Kendra added NASCAR to the resume. What's
- 0:38Speaker 1: going on out there. I wasn't.
- 0:40Speaker 2: I fear that I am now obsessed with NASCAR. I
- 0:43Speaker 2: have gotten into all of the bits and the lore
- 0:45Speaker 2: about the drivers and their dating lives and.
- 0:48Speaker 3: Who hates each other.
- 0:49Speaker 4: I watched a guy.
- 0:50Speaker 2: Throw a bumper at a guy who hit him a
- 0:52Speaker 2: couple weeks ago. The fact that you can fight each
- 0:55Speaker 2: other and stuff, I'm kind of in on NASCAR. I
- 0:58Speaker 2: love the redneckification, I think I should say, of it all.
- 1:02Speaker 3: I felt like I was back.
- 1:03Speaker 2: Home in Jacksonville, Florida on Sunday, and I loved every
- 1:06Speaker 2: second of it.
- 1:07Speaker 3: Yeah, there is..
- 1:09Speaker 2: Wait no i had a bush light in the crowd
- 1:10Speaker 2: the only thing that pissed me off they were out
- 1:12Speaker 2: of corn dogs before lab 50 and that was the
- 1:14Speaker 2: only thing that i wanted and i was very upset it.
- 1:18Speaker 1: Is kind of like pro wrestling on wheels yeah i
- 1:22Speaker 1: loved it there's a lot of those a lot of
- 1:23Speaker 1: those same vibes and people that are out there literally
- 1:26Speaker 1: just out there to.
- 1:26Speaker 2: Have a good time and the most random sponsors in
- 1:29Speaker 2: the world Yes.
- 1:31Speaker 1: Well, it was like a, I bet one, it was
- 1:32Speaker 1: like toilet paper or something like that.
- 1:34Speaker 3: It's so good. Like they're just, I've never even heard
- 1:37Speaker 3: of 90% of them.
- 1:39Speaker 1: I loved it. The running hot podcast with Nick Giffen
- 1:43Speaker 1: out every Wednesday, he is putting together quite the impressive season.
- 1:48Speaker 1: Go and check that out. We have a lot of
- 1:51Speaker 1: news to get to in just a couple of minutes
- 1:53Speaker 1: before we get to our AFC West breakdown. So do
- 1:55Speaker 1: you want to do One of our favorite type of
- 1:57Speaker 1: formats here where I just hit you with like five topics.
- 2:01Speaker 3: And we go rapid fire.
- 2:02Speaker 4: Yep.
- 2:03Speaker 1: All right. Deshaun Watson named the starter for the Browns
- 2:06Speaker 1: over Shador Sanders, despite the fact that he's been awful
- 2:09Speaker 1: in the preseason and he also shit on the fans.
- 2:12Speaker 1: Love it. Hate it. Don't get it. Where are we at?
- 2:15Speaker 2: I think that it is the dumbest thing ever. They
- 2:17Speaker 2: are the worst franchise to ever exist in all of sports.
- 2:20Speaker 2: And the fact that you don't even have to bring
- 2:22Speaker 2: up the fact that he's a predator to have a
- 2:24Speaker 2: plethora of reasons why he shouldn't be starting, I think
- 2:26Speaker 2: says enough.
- 2:28Speaker 1: And the lack of awareness that he shows at the
- 2:30Speaker 1: press conference, just a little bit of humility to Sean.
- 2:33Speaker 1: It's all people are asking for. If you're going to
- 2:35Speaker 1: be bad, you can at least be humble.
- 2:36Speaker 2: I am so glad that they are opening the season
- 2:39Speaker 2: in Jacksonville because last time that he was there, the.
- 2:42Speaker 3: Chance were something. Let me tell you. And if you
- 2:44Speaker 3: don't know what I'm talking about, the internet is your friend.
- 2:46Speaker 4: Google it.
- 2:47Speaker 3: It's worth it.
- 2:47Speaker 1: I'm not overthinking week one survivor. I'm taking the Jags
- 2:51Speaker 1: and every survivor contest. I'm in Ashton. Gentee news nearly
- 2:54Speaker 1: gave me a heart attack on Sunday night. It was like,
- 2:58Speaker 1: The team was having candlelight vigils for the guy, and
- 3:01Speaker 1: it turns out it was just a sprained ankle.
- 3:02Speaker 3: A prayer circle is crazy.
- 3:04Speaker 1: For a sprained ankle. I mean, this is Kendra as
- 3:09Speaker 1: the leading woman on this show. You've got to let
- 3:13Speaker 1: the men know out there. They're being a little dramatic here.
- 3:16Speaker 3: You can say the word pussy.
- 3:17Speaker 1: It's okay.
- 3:18Speaker 3: Like, it's okay. You can really. It's all good. It's fine.
- 3:22Speaker 3: You can say that word.
- 3:23Speaker 1: Hopefully you weren't drafting at the time when that went
- 3:25Speaker 1: down because Mike Washington shot up from sleeper that you
- 3:29Speaker 1: could get around round 12 to second round pick in
- 3:32Speaker 1: the snap of a finger. Kayshaun Booty traded to the Texans.
- 3:36Speaker 1: What's the reaction been in your neck of the woods?
- 3:38Speaker 1: Not a surprise that he was traded, but to trade
- 3:41Speaker 1: him to another team that might end up representing the
- 3:43Speaker 1: AFC is kind of a wild move.
- 3:45Speaker 2: I think that that is true, but I hate to
- 3:48Speaker 2: say it. I think it was weirdly a Patriots fleece.
- 3:50Speaker 2: The fact that you add to your I didn't understand
- 3:53Speaker 2: the fact that they wanted to add to the secondary.
- 3:55Speaker 2: It makes me have more questions about the Christian Gonzalez situation,
- 3:58Speaker 2: especially after pro football focus just voted them the best
- 4:01Speaker 2: secondary in the league.
- 4:02Speaker 3: But the fact that they also got a pick out
- 4:03Speaker 3: of it.
- 4:04Speaker 2: I think that they could have benefited by having Cajun
- 4:06Speaker 2: on the team, but Mike Vrabel's been very adamant in
- 4:08Speaker 2: the last few weeks that there is a universe where
- 4:10Speaker 2: they could have carried all seven receivers onto the roster.
- 4:13Speaker 2: I personally am in the camp that you don't spend
- 4:15Speaker 2: an eighth of your roster on a singular position, but
- 4:17Speaker 2: I think it made sense for both sides. I think
- 4:19Speaker 2: the Patriots got the better deal out of it, but
- 4:21Speaker 2: now the thing is that it adds more questions to
- 4:23Speaker 2: the Christian Gonzalez situation, alas.
- 4:26Speaker 1: And the Texans needed it because Jaden Higgins was set
- 4:29Speaker 1: to have a breakout year, and they add another receiver
- 4:31Speaker 1: to a room that is..
- 4:34Speaker 3: As a Jags fan, I like it. I got to
- 4:36Speaker 3: be honest.
- 4:37Speaker 2: I'm more scared of Jaden than I am of Kayshaun.
- 4:41Speaker 1: Yeah, but they had to replace him with somebody. Oh,
- 4:43Speaker 1: for sure. Yeah, because you don't know what you're going
- 4:45Speaker 1: to get from Tank. Anything you get from Tank Dell
- 4:47Speaker 1: this year is going to be a positive.
- 4:49Speaker 3: So I like it for the Jags and I like
- 4:51Speaker 3: it for the Patriots. Sorry, Houston.
- 4:54Speaker 1: Well, speaking of the Jags, they've released their Bold City uniforms.
- 4:58Speaker 1: You can look for Kendra's review on her Twitter account
- 5:01Speaker 1: or you can get it here. What do you think?
- 5:02Speaker 3: I am not jagging off, boys. These are heinous. This
- 5:06Speaker 3: is real bad. It's like every piece. Why are they white?
- 5:10Speaker 2: First of all, like, I don't care if there are
- 5:12Speaker 2: like regulations where you have to have lighter uniforms. They
- 5:14Speaker 2: could have gone with cream. Why is this team allergic
- 5:17Speaker 2: to teal? It's the best color in the NFL. And
- 5:20Speaker 2: the pants look like a pair of Lululemon leggings.
- 5:22Speaker 3: And I just, I, you were so close. I don't understand.
- 5:26Speaker 3: I hate them. I hate them.
- 5:29Speaker 1: And when they released it, they put, was it, Like
- 5:32Speaker 1: Cam Little or something.
- 5:34Speaker 2: Don't talk shit about Cam Little. Don't start with me.
- 5:36Speaker 2: Don't fucking start with me, Kravitz. Don't fucking start.
- 5:39Speaker 1: All right. Last thing is today is a holiday for me.
- 5:44Speaker 1: It's pumpkin spice latte day at Starbucks.
- 5:48Speaker 3: Can we get to the show?
- 5:49Speaker 1: All right.
- 5:49Speaker 3: I've had enough of you.
- 5:51Speaker 1: AFC West breakdown on the way. Best bets and more.

- 6:37Speaker 1: Let's head west to the AFC West. Really looking forward
- 6:40Speaker 1: to hyper-focusing on this division with our guest, Anilo Piro
- 6:44Speaker 1: from 104.3 Denver Sports. Anila, welcome to the show. I'm
- 6:49Speaker 1: excited to chop it up today.
- 6:50Speaker 4: What's going on?
- 6:51Speaker 5: Yeah, I was at a Broncos preseason game last Friday,
- 6:54Speaker 5: and I was excited to just be back in the
- 6:56Speaker 5: arena and be back in the stadium and all that
- 6:58Speaker 5: kind of stuff, but I am itching for regular season football,
- 7:01Speaker 5: and obviously the AFC West is a fascinating division, so
- 7:04Speaker 5: looking forward to unpacking it with you guys here on
- 7:06Speaker 5: the program today.
- 7:07Speaker 4: Thanks for having me on.
- 7:08Speaker 1: Of course, we'll get the vibe check in a moment.
- 7:10Speaker 1: I was looking at some of the YouTube clips that
- 7:14Speaker 1: you're on and some of the content that that you've
- 7:16Speaker 1: put out there. And I saw you talking to one
- 7:18Speaker 1: of my idols, Billy Walters, perhaps the greatest NFL better
- 7:22Speaker 1: of all time. This was a couple of years ago
- 7:24Speaker 1: at the super bowl in Las Vegas, just pure aura.
- 7:29Speaker 1: I mean, I just like, I saw you just sort
- 7:30Speaker 1: of soaking it in. Do you feel like you were,
- 7:33Speaker 1: you know, you were gifted the magic of, uh, of
- 7:36Speaker 1: NFL betting from one of the best to ever do it?
- 7:38Speaker 4: You know, it was cool.
- 7:39Speaker 5: And I'm not sure if you guys have had the
- 7:41Speaker 5: opportunity to do the radio row or media row, whatever
- 7:44Speaker 5: they call it these days.
- 7:45Speaker 3: We're both radio people.
- 7:47Speaker 4: Okay, perfect. Perfect.
- 7:48Speaker 5: So you understand kind of what that is. But point
- 7:49Speaker 5: being is like, it was in Vegas. It was a
- 7:51Speaker 5: little bit different, right? But like, most of the people
- 7:53Speaker 5: that are there, I feel like we're either new or
- 7:55Speaker 5: not really into the gambling aspect of it.
- 7:57Speaker 4: Like it's traditional media, right?
- 7:58Speaker 5: And I see Billy Walters walk by and I just
- 8:01Speaker 5: read his book like three months prior to that. And
- 8:03Speaker 5: I'm like the only person like in the room at
- 8:04Speaker 5: that point that I understands who's in front of me
- 8:07Speaker 5: like everyone else is chasing this player and that player
- 8:09Speaker 5: I was like no like I'm gonna go talk to
- 8:11Speaker 5: Billy Walters and funny you know just a quick story
- 8:13Speaker 5: on that is he was due to do another hit
- 8:15Speaker 5: with somebody else but he like looked me in the
- 8:16Speaker 5: eye shook my hand he's like I promise I'm coming
- 8:18Speaker 5: back like we'll do this hit together because I was
- 8:20Speaker 5: working um in the gambling industry at the time and
- 8:23Speaker 5: so yeah you know learned a lot of good things
- 8:25Speaker 5: believe he called that game correctly too with the question
- 8:28Speaker 5: that I was asking him about of course he did
- 8:30Speaker 5: but uh one of the all-time greats man it was
- 8:31Speaker 5: one of the highlights of my career that's for sure.
- 8:34Speaker 1: That's so cool. So we, we do this with every
- 8:36Speaker 1: guest that we bring on. When we talk about these divisions,
- 8:38Speaker 1: we start with the vibe check. Where are we at
- 8:41Speaker 1: in terms of intrigue fascination? It feels like this one
- 8:45Speaker 1: is right up there. We have our last two division
- 8:48Speaker 1: previews and it's kind of like, Almost feels like we've
- 8:50Speaker 1: saved the best for last because we've got the AFC
- 8:53Speaker 1: West and the NFC West to get to. And these
- 8:56Speaker 1: two divisions play each other this year as well. I
- 8:59Speaker 1: imagine peak interest for you. If you could try and
- 9:02Speaker 1: remain as objective as possible in your answer.
- 9:05Speaker 5: Yeah, look, here's the one thing I will say, because
- 9:07Speaker 5: obviously I'm based in Denver, right? And I cover the
- 9:09Speaker 5: Denver Broncos for 104.3 The Fan. I also do the
- 9:11Speaker 5: Lockdown Broncos podcast as well, but I'm not originally from Denver.
- 9:15Speaker 5: So the Broncos are not my team per se. Unfortunately,
- 9:18Speaker 5: I'm a long-suffering Dallas Cowboy fan, so that's a conversation
- 9:21Speaker 5: for another day. But I try to look at the
- 9:23Speaker 5: Broncos and the AFC West as objectively as possible, right?
- 9:26Speaker 4: And I think you hit the nail on the head.
- 9:28Speaker 5: When you look at this division as a whole, there's
- 9:31Speaker 5: three really interesting teams that and the Raiders, who feels
- 9:34Speaker 5: like they've been rebuilding for eternity, or at least my
- 9:37Speaker 5: entire life, right? And so the Broncos fresh off a
- 9:40Speaker 5: 14-1 season, the perceived bounce-back nature of the Kansas City Chiefs,
- 9:44Speaker 5: on top of the Los Angeles Chargers, who make some
- 9:47Speaker 5: sizable moves at the coordinator positions this offseason as well.
- 9:49Speaker 5: I mean, you're talking about three teams that we can
- 9:52Speaker 5: sit here and I think make legitimate Super Bowl cases
- 9:55Speaker 5: for all three with varying degrees of confidence. But it's
- 9:58Speaker 5: one of those two, like I'm sure we'll get into
- 10:00Speaker 5: division odds and all that kind of stuff. Like you
- 10:02Speaker 5: can make a case one way or the other for
- 10:04Speaker 5: all three.
- 10:04Speaker 4: Of those teams. So it is loaded to the brim
- 10:06Speaker 4: with talent. That's for sure.
- 10:08Speaker 3: So let's just stick with the Denver Broncos here. We
- 10:10Speaker 3: can go ahead and get them out of the way.
- 10:12Speaker 2: Before I think we get too far into this, I
- 10:15Speaker 2: need to know off the top, what are your thoughts
- 10:18Speaker 2: of Bo Nix? Do you think he is the guy,
- 10:21Speaker 2: a guy? What do you think about him? I personally,
- 10:24Speaker 2: I'm an Auburn gal, went to Auburn.
- 10:26Speaker 1: He was..
- 10:28Speaker 2: Uh the replacement obviously for Jarrett Stidham he came the
- 10:30Speaker 2: year after I left but I watched him very closely
- 10:33Speaker 2: because of that I think that he is just the
- 10:35Speaker 2: definition of a guy and the reason that he's successful
- 10:38Speaker 2: is all about the coaches that are around him but
- 10:40Speaker 2: I'm willing to hear whatever you think about him just
- 10:43Speaker 2: because you're so close to the situation but I feel
- 10:46Speaker 2: as though last year in that playoff game there just
- 10:48Speaker 2: wasn't that much of a drop off between him and
- 10:51Speaker 2: Stidham man I'm having a hard time buying in Yeah.
- 10:54Speaker 4: And look, that's a pretty common narrative, right? At least nationally.
- 10:57Speaker 5: You say that in Broncos country and people are going
- 10:59Speaker 5: to look at you kind of crazy because everyone thinks
- 11:01Speaker 5: he's the second coming and the savior, right?
- 11:03Speaker 4: And I find myself somewhere in the middle, right?
- 11:05Speaker 5: And I was kind of like you, I guess skeptical
- 11:08Speaker 5: is probably the right word to use, of Bo Nix
- 11:10Speaker 5: coming out of college. And obviously it was a revolving
- 11:12Speaker 5: door of quarterbacks leading up to Bo Nix ending up
- 11:15Speaker 5: at the Denver Broncos. But all the guys... done in
- 11:18Speaker 5: his time with Denver's win, right? Makes the playoffs his
- 11:20Speaker 5: first year. They lose to Buffalo in the wildcard game. Obviously,
- 11:23Speaker 5: last year leads this team to a 14-win season. I
- 11:25Speaker 5: believe there were, what, 11-2-1 score games last year as well.
- 11:29Speaker 5: So kind of the cardiac kids coming from behind consistently.
- 11:32Speaker 5: Does he have the most natural ability in the world? No.
- 11:35Speaker 5: He doesn't have the same wow factor as a Josh
- 11:38Speaker 5: Allen or a Joe Burrow or a Lamar Jackson, right?
- 11:41Speaker 4: And I know this term game manager is something that's
- 11:43Speaker 4: thrown around pretty commonly.
- 11:45Speaker 5: But if you want to label Bo Nix as a
- 11:47Speaker 5: game manager, I don't think that's a bad thing whatsoever,
- 11:50Speaker 5: just because he's so effective at leading this team to victory.
- 11:53Speaker 5: And really, that's all people here locally care about. And
- 11:56Speaker 5: that's what I care about when it comes to betting
- 11:57Speaker 5: on teams is can you cover the spread?
- 11:59Speaker 4: Can you win these games?
- 12:00Speaker 5: So Again, I don't think Bo Nix is like the
- 12:03Speaker 5: best quarterback in the league or really even close to that,
- 12:05Speaker 5: but he can do everything you need to to win
- 12:07Speaker 5: a game. So when it comes to a guy that
- 12:09Speaker 5: is a stable leader for this Broncos team, I think so.
- 12:12Speaker 5: And you talk about the drop off with Jared Stidham.
- 12:15Speaker 5: You know, I understand where you're coming from, but I
- 12:16Speaker 5: think if Bo Nix plays in that game, the Broncos
- 12:18Speaker 5: are in the Super Bowl. Now, I don't think they
- 12:20Speaker 5: beat Seattle, but I think if Bo Nix plays, they
- 12:22Speaker 5: find themselves in the big game.
- 12:24Speaker 1: I think he's.
- 12:25Speaker 4: Everything you want to later.
- 12:26Speaker 3: If they kick that kick instead.
- 12:28Speaker 5: Well, that's another, that's a conversation for another day, but yeah,
- 12:31Speaker 5: I think, I think Bo's a solid quarterback.
- 12:33Speaker 4: I really do.
- 12:34Speaker 1: Bo Nix, his recovery, he's found himself back in, in,
- 12:37Speaker 1: on the field. We saw him play in a preseason game,
- 12:39Speaker 1: so that's a good sign, but this is a guy
- 12:42Speaker 1: that did injure his ankle pretty severely going into the
- 12:45Speaker 1: AFC championship game where he wasn't able to play. Is
- 12:48Speaker 1: he going to be, At a hundred percent. Are we
- 12:51Speaker 1: having similar conversations about him that we're having with my homes?
- 12:54Speaker 1: Or it's like, he's out there, but he's not fully
- 12:56Speaker 1: Bo Nix.
- 12:58Speaker 4: I think he's a hundred percent.
- 12:59Speaker 5: I mean, I've been at, I was probably at 80%
- 13:01Speaker 5: of the training camp practices, saw him in the flesh
- 13:03Speaker 5: in the preseason game. There has been nothing that I
- 13:05Speaker 5: have seen with my own two eyes to suggest the
- 13:08Speaker 5: ankle is like really bothering him. Like, I think there's
- 13:10Speaker 5: some trust that you're naturally going to have to overcome
- 13:13Speaker 5: and work through, but like there doesn't seem anything lingering
- 13:16Speaker 5: from the surgery. And he's had procedures on his ankles,
- 13:18Speaker 5: which is more so a long-term concern for his career,
- 13:21Speaker 5: but this is nothing new to him necessarily because, So
- 13:24Speaker 5: I understand why that's a narrative. But again, I could
- 13:27Speaker 5: just tell you from my own two eyes, like Bo
- 13:28Speaker 5: Nix has looked healthy. I think he's going to be
- 13:30Speaker 5: healthy come week one and bearing anything new, he should
- 13:33Speaker 5: be ready to go as it pertains to the ankle.
- 13:36Speaker 3: I don't know if you're one of these guys who
- 13:38Speaker 3: looks too far into the schedule.
- 13:39Speaker 2: I feel like it's a very polarizing thing in the
- 13:42Speaker 2: NFL media world is either you think the schedule matters
- 13:45Speaker 2: or you think it doesn't. I'm very much in the
- 13:47Speaker 2: camp that I think that the schedule matters.
- 13:49Speaker 3: And I think the.
- 13:49Speaker 2: Broncos pulled a really kind of strange draw of it
- 13:53Speaker 2: this year. They are in the thick of it until
- 13:55Speaker 2: November and then they get a pretty decent break and
- 13:57Speaker 2: then they end it in the thick of it again.
- 13:59Speaker 2: I don't know if I love or hate the sandwich
- 14:01Speaker 2: method here, just because everybody's.
- 14:04Speaker 3: Healthy at the beginning of the year.
- 14:05Speaker 2: But when the bulk of your schedule comes all at once,
- 14:08Speaker 2: that scares me from a longevity perspective. What are your
- 14:11Speaker 2: thoughts on kind of the schedule truthers versus the schedule
- 14:14Speaker 2: they pulled here?
- 14:16Speaker 5: Yeah, look, I mean, their first six weeks, like that's
- 14:18Speaker 5: been one of the major talking points here throughout the
- 14:20Speaker 5: course of just the offseason. I mean, you open up
- 14:23Speaker 5: with Kansas City, you've got Jacksonville, you've got the Rams,
- 14:25Speaker 5: like those first three games in and of itself is
- 14:28Speaker 5: as brutal as I can remember.
- 14:29Speaker 4: But then you've also got Seattle in the mix, right?
- 14:32Speaker 5: And a handful of other tough games that kind of
- 14:33Speaker 5: get you through that first six weeks. Like I think
- 14:35Speaker 5: their first, like nothing's a guarantee, right? But they play
- 14:38Speaker 5: the Cardinals on like week seven or something like that.
- 14:41Speaker 5: And that's like the first time it feels like you
- 14:42Speaker 5: can come up for air with this Broncos team. So,
- 14:45Speaker 5: I don't think it's like you're talking about the schedule
- 14:47Speaker 5: and that overall dynamic. Like the first six weeks of
- 14:49Speaker 5: this season could make or break the Broncos season, which
- 14:53Speaker 5: is a crazy thing to say considering they won 14
- 14:55Speaker 5: games just a year ago. But they're going to have
- 14:58Speaker 5: to get out to a hot start. And ultimately, yeah,
- 15:01Speaker 5: it's one of the more front-loaded and back-loaded schedules, as
- 15:03Speaker 5: you kind of alluded to.
- 15:04Speaker 4: Like there's some soft spots in the middle.
- 15:06Speaker 5: But if they get out one and five, you know,
- 15:09Speaker 5: or two and four, like what does that mean for
- 15:11Speaker 5: them moving forward this season?
- 15:12Speaker 4: So it's going to be interesting those first six weeks
- 15:14Speaker 4: for sure.
- 15:15Speaker 1: I think it's important with all of the teams in
- 15:17Speaker 1: this division to look at the swing games because they
- 15:20Speaker 1: all play each other, obviously, and they all play the
- 15:23Speaker 1: NFC West. So none of them have an easy schedule.
- 15:26Speaker 1: I don't care what any of the rankings you look
- 15:28Speaker 1: at say, when you have to play the AFC West
- 15:31Speaker 1: and the NFC West, they also play the AFC East,
- 15:33Speaker 1: which means you're playing Buffalo, you're playing New England. So
- 15:36Speaker 1: there aren't a lot of holes on any of these schedules.
- 15:40Speaker 1: I would look at the swing games and the swing
- 15:42Speaker 1: games are where you landed in terms of the standings
- 15:46Speaker 1: last year. The Broncos have a first place schedule on Yulo,
- 15:49Speaker 1: but it's not as daunting. When you look at the
- 15:52Speaker 1: swing game teams, Jags, Panthers, Steelers, all finished in first
- 15:56Speaker 1: place of their divisions. And I don't think any of
- 16:00Speaker 1: them are considered the best team in their division. So
- 16:04Speaker 1: in some ways, yeah, the layout, when you guys talk
- 16:06Speaker 1: about the flow of the schedule, very difficult. But when
- 16:09Speaker 1: you put into the context that all the schedules are tough,
- 16:12Speaker 1: I actually think the Broncos got out with a slightly
- 16:15Speaker 1: favorable look as a first place team.
- 16:19Speaker 5: Yeah, and I think you're right when you just kind
- 16:20Speaker 5: of look at the rest of the division and just
- 16:23Speaker 5: the common opponents, right? And like, obviously, Carolina of those
- 16:26Speaker 5: teams that have in that division, excuse me, is probably
- 16:29Speaker 5: a favorable draw. Like, what is Pittsburgh going to be, right?
- 16:32Speaker 5: I think they're going to be competitive, but Denver should
- 16:33Speaker 5: have an edge, assuming they're healthy. Jacksonville is a team
- 16:36Speaker 5: you can't sleep on, though. Remember, Jacksonville was the team
- 16:38Speaker 5: that waltzed in a mile high last year and ended
- 16:40Speaker 5: the Broncos win streak. And I know that rubbed a
- 16:42Speaker 5: lot of people the wrong way.
- 16:43Speaker 4: And I have a lot of respect and think Liam
- 16:45Speaker 4: Cohen's a great coach.
- 16:46Speaker 5: So yeah, I mean, whichever way you slice it, like
- 16:48Speaker 5: we can, we can go glass half full and say,
- 16:50Speaker 5: maybe they didn't get the worst of the draws, but
- 16:52Speaker 5: the schedule is just, for me, it's those first six
- 16:55Speaker 5: games because of how in succession they all are. Like
- 16:58Speaker 5: that can be the defining portion of the season for them,
- 17:00Speaker 5: which is going to be interesting.
- 17:02Speaker 2: As a pod, I think I'm already going to add
- 17:05Speaker 2: this to my calendar to bet. The Broncos played the
- 17:08Speaker 2: Cardinals on October 25th as a sandwich spot between Seattle
- 17:12Speaker 2: and the Chiefs. Coming off of a game against a
- 17:14Speaker 2: defending Super Bowl champion against a team that seems like
- 17:17Speaker 2: on paper they should be an easy win. I think
- 17:19Speaker 2: that's around the time of the year people will be
- 17:20Speaker 2: calling for Carson Beck as well. And a look ahead
- 17:23Speaker 2: spot against the Chiefs. I think that that is going
- 17:25Speaker 2: to be my Cardinals bet. covering the spread moment for
- 17:28Speaker 2: the season so the only other thing we gotta add that.
- 17:30Speaker 1: To the log we have to we've been creating a
- 17:32Speaker 1: futures betting log of of of spots that we are
- 17:37Speaker 1: isolating i have one that i'm gonna hit on that
- 17:39Speaker 1: i know that we mentioned a couple of months ago
- 17:41Speaker 1: that falls in line with one of the teams that
- 17:43Speaker 1: we discuss here but I like that. If Evan, if
- 17:45Speaker 1: you're listening and you're jotting that down, that's let's look
- 17:48Speaker 1: at the Broncos.
- 17:49Speaker 3: I think that's the pod bet.
- 17:51Speaker 2: Um, I I'm in a camp that I think that
- 17:54Speaker 2: this team, it doesn't have a ton of questions surrounding
- 17:57Speaker 2: who's going to start where or what this roster is
- 17:59Speaker 2: going to look like. Fortunately, but someone I am looking
- 18:02Speaker 2: at to kind of move up the depth chart is
- 18:04Speaker 2: Jonah Coleman. He's someone I'm waiting for futures to come
- 18:07Speaker 2: out on. I actually have that later in our show
- 18:09Speaker 2: to talk about. But what do you think about Jonah
- 18:11Speaker 2: Coleman and kind of his ability to maybe move up
- 18:14Speaker 2: the depth chart and maybe be someone sneaky to bet
- 18:17Speaker 2: on through the first couple of weeks?
- 18:19Speaker 5: No, that's a good poll. And I'm very curious to
- 18:22Speaker 5: see what Jonah Coleman is going to evolve into. He's
- 18:24Speaker 5: probably the rookie that's been talked about the most here locally.
- 18:26Speaker 4: I can tell you that. And here's the thing.
- 18:29Speaker 5: Like RJ Harvey was pretty effective last year as an
- 18:31Speaker 5: all purpose back, especially after JK Dobbins went down, but
- 18:34Speaker 5: he was good out of, you know, out of the
- 18:36Speaker 5: backfield catching touchdowns. We actually saw that in the preseason
- 18:39Speaker 5: game as well. And well, JK Dobbins, I'm not sure
- 18:41Speaker 5: if you guys have seen the viral clip that went around.
- 18:43Speaker 5: He's like pinky promising the media that he's going to
- 18:46Speaker 5: be healthy for every single game this year. And he's
- 18:48Speaker 5: going to lead the league in rushing, like a lot
- 18:49Speaker 5: of wishful thinking.
- 18:50Speaker 2: Right.
- 18:50Speaker 4: But like history tells us JK Dobbins is going to
- 18:53Speaker 4: be healthy. Yeah. Yeah.
- 18:55Speaker 5: Like history tells us Dobbins is going down at some
- 18:57Speaker 5: point or the other. And that's where I think Jonah
- 18:59Speaker 5: Coleman really enters into the equation. Cause I think Coleman
- 19:02Speaker 5: has a similar skillset to that of Dobbins. Whereas RJ
- 19:05Speaker 5: is just kind of like this do it all Alvin
- 19:07Speaker 5: Kamara type of back per se so i'm not sure
- 19:11Speaker 5: what the opening role is going to look like for
- 19:13Speaker 5: jonah coleman but assuming that dobbins goes down at some
- 19:16Speaker 5: point that's where i think you'll see the ascension of
- 19:18Speaker 5: jonah coleman but he's really impressed in training camp and
- 19:21Speaker 5: he's certainly a guy that if he gets the touches
- 19:23Speaker 5: and the opportunities you you can see him really make
- 19:25Speaker 5: an impact for this broncos team throughout the course of
- 19:27Speaker 5: the season.
- 19:28Speaker 1: Andrew's icked out by pinky promises No, it's more so.
- 19:31Speaker 3: Just like you can't promise those things.
- 19:34Speaker 2: That's like me coming on the air and being like,
- 19:36Speaker 2: I pinky promise that all of my bets this season
- 19:39Speaker 2: are going to hit like that.
- 19:40Speaker 3: Just you can't do that.
- 19:42Speaker 2: That feels like you're already jinxing your season before it starts.
- 19:46Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 19:47Speaker 1: Yeah. That's a good analogy.
- 19:48Speaker 4: All right.
- 19:49Speaker 1: Let's let's. talk. We could stay on the Broncos forever.
- 19:52Speaker 1: I mean, and there's a lot to like about this team, defense,
- 19:56Speaker 1: offensive line. They actually, before we jumped to best case scenario,
- 20:01Speaker 1: I got to get a read from you on Jalen Waddle.
- 20:04Speaker 1: That was my guy. I'm a Miami Dolphins fan. I
- 20:07Speaker 1: loved Waddle. He was my favorite player to watch. Loved
- 20:09Speaker 1: the penguin celebration in the end zone.
- 20:11Speaker 3: It is a good one.
- 20:13Speaker 1: He makes his way to Denver. I'm happy for him
- 20:15Speaker 1: because it's a mess in Miami. This feels like exactly
- 20:19Speaker 1: what they need to really open up this offense. What
- 20:22Speaker 1: is your vision of what he brings to the Denver
- 20:25Speaker 1: Broncos offensively?
- 20:27Speaker 5: Yeah, it feels like the explosive wide receiver was the
- 20:29Speaker 5: one thing that they were missing, right? Because they've got
- 20:31Speaker 5: a pretty good offensive line with a lot of continuity.
- 20:33Speaker 5: The running back room when Dobbins is healthy and RJ
- 20:35Speaker 5: in year two is pretty solid. Bo Nix can get
- 20:38Speaker 5: the job done. And Cortland Sutton's a pretty steady wide receiver.
- 20:41Speaker 5: But now you add Jalen Waddell to the mix, and
- 20:43Speaker 5: it's just going to hopefully, theoretically... take this offense up
- 20:46Speaker 5: a notch. And I know it was preseason, but we
- 20:47Speaker 5: got our first little preview of this Bo Nix, Jalen
- 20:50Speaker 5: Waddle connection. It just feels like you haven't had a
- 20:52Speaker 5: yak attack type wide receiver over the middle in a long,
- 20:56Speaker 5: long time for Denver. Like we're going back to like
- 20:58Speaker 5: Emmanuel Sanders and Demarius Thomas. So, So I think Waddle
- 21:01Speaker 5: is going to be awesome. The one thing I will
- 21:03Speaker 5: say is like Waddle, I think is going to have
- 21:04Speaker 5: a good year, but I think it's going to result
- 21:07Speaker 5: in big things for like the Cortland Sutton's of the world.
- 21:09Speaker 5: Pat Bryant, the second year receiver out of Illinois is
- 21:11Speaker 5: another guy that a lot of people are really high
- 21:13Speaker 5: on here locally. Like I think Waddle is going to
- 21:16Speaker 5: command so much attention because of his speed that you're
- 21:18Speaker 5: going to get more 50, 50 balls to Sutton among
- 21:20Speaker 5: some other guys. So it'll go around the Broncos offense
- 21:23Speaker 5: and it should hopefully take them up to a, to
- 21:24Speaker 5: another level. So looking forward to that for sure.
- 21:27Speaker 1: Best case scenario for this team. I mean, it feels
- 21:30Speaker 1: like I'm not going to call it Super Bowl or bust,
- 21:33Speaker 1: but it does feel like a team that could very
- 21:34Speaker 1: well be.
- 21:35Speaker 3: Playing in a Super Bowl. I will eat so much crow.
- 21:39Speaker 3: It's not even funny.
- 21:40Speaker 1: I think this I'm all in on the Broncos this year.
- 21:43Speaker 1: I do think this is schedules heinous.
- 21:46Speaker 3: Grab it.
- 21:47Speaker 1: They all are, though. That's my thing is the schedule
- 21:50Speaker 1: is tough, but they're all tough in the AFC West.
- 21:52Speaker 1: I think this team is loaded top to bottom. So
- 21:55Speaker 1: I think the ceiling for them is a Super Bowl.
- 21:58Speaker 1: And Yulo.
- 21:59Speaker 5: That's what I say, too. I mean, that's been the
- 22:01Speaker 5: sentiment and the narrative out here. I mean, you win
- 22:02Speaker 5: 14 games, you're in an AFC championship game. If Bo
- 22:05Speaker 5: Nix doesn't get hurt, you're probably there anyway. And you
- 22:08Speaker 5: add Jalen Waddell, you bring back the defense, which was
- 22:10Speaker 5: one of a top three unit last.
- 22:12Speaker 4: Year in a lot of different metrics. You've got a
- 22:14Speaker 4: good coach, Davis Webb calling plays.
- 22:17Speaker 5: To me, it's like an AFC championship game appearance or bust,
- 22:20Speaker 5: but this is a team, in my opinion, that has
- 22:22Speaker 5: a chance to go out there and win a Super Bowl.
- 22:24Speaker 5: That's where I'm at with them. They're solid on offense, defense,
- 22:26Speaker 5: coaching staff. and everything in between.
- 22:29Speaker 1: Kendra, best way to bet the Broncos. It sounds like
- 22:34Speaker 1: you're out on them.
- 22:35Speaker 3: I'm so out. I am going to spoiler alert. I'm
- 22:38Speaker 3: out on this entire division.
- 22:40Speaker 1: Actually, somebody has to win it.
- 22:42Speaker 2: I agree, but that's the reason that I don't like
- 22:45Speaker 2: it is because I hate to drop a vibe check here,
- 22:48Speaker 2: but the vibe of this is just feeling like it's
- 22:50Speaker 2: going to be a shit show and somebody has to
- 22:52Speaker 2: win it because somebody has to win it, not because
- 22:54Speaker 2: somebody is going to be a powerhouse over anybody else.
- 22:57Speaker 2: They're going to beat up on each other and everybody
- 22:59Speaker 2: else in the schedule and it's going to be disgusting
- 23:00Speaker 2: and there's going to be injuries and somebody has to.
- 23:03Speaker 3: Win it and that's just how it is.
- 23:04Speaker 2: I don't think that these teams, talent-wise, are all that
- 23:08Speaker 2: far off from each other, top to bottom.
- 23:11Speaker 1: So are you, I guess, under nine and a half
- 23:13Speaker 1: is where?
- 23:15Speaker 2: I think that that is so sharp that I think
- 23:17Speaker 2: that this is a nine win team with this schedule.
- 23:21Speaker 3: So I'm not.
- 23:22Speaker 2: Willing to be really heavily on either side of it.
- 23:25Speaker 2: For me, I'm going to ride the Jonah Coleman thing
- 23:28Speaker 2: and I'm going to find pockets in this schedule that
- 23:30Speaker 2: I think Denver is going to look ahead just because
- 23:32Speaker 2: that's the type of team that I think that they are.
- 23:33Speaker 1: What about you, Anila? What do you think? Have you
- 23:37Speaker 1: bet the Broncos yet? What do you think the best
- 23:39Speaker 1: way is to lay some on this team?
- 23:43Speaker 5: I have not bet them yet. I would lean towards
- 23:45Speaker 5: the over 9.5, though. I think assuming they stay healthy,
- 23:47Speaker 5: they're a double-digit win team. And the fact that I'm
- 23:50Speaker 5: getting 9.5, I think, is obviously something to take a
- 23:53Speaker 5: look at. The division odds, too, I believe last I checked,
- 23:56Speaker 5: they were over 2-1 odds, which I find interesting that
- 23:59Speaker 5: Kansas City's the favorite Like you're talking about a team
- 24:01Speaker 5: that won the division last year and won 14 games.
- 24:04Speaker 5: And again, like the schedule could ultimately be the deciding
- 24:06Speaker 5: factor in that. But if they get all these green
- 24:08Speaker 5: lights and they stay healthy as they did last year,
- 24:10Speaker 5: which is a big, if I think they're going to
- 24:12Speaker 5: be in a position once again, and potentially when the division,
- 24:14Speaker 5: but if I'm looking at just, I think it's a
- 24:16Speaker 5: double digit.
- 24:16Speaker 4: Win team of both healthy. So I'd lead towards the
- 24:18Speaker 4: over nine and a half.
- 24:20Speaker 1: I have a question for Kendra Denver to miss the playoffs.
- 24:24Speaker 1: If you wanted to, to look at that on draft
- 24:26Speaker 1: Kings plus one 18, what's your question?
- 24:28Speaker 2: Do we think that this is giving the new NFC
- 24:31Speaker 2: East vibes and that we're not going to have a
- 24:33Speaker 2: repeat division winner here for the foreseeable future?
- 24:36Speaker 1: We had it for so long.
- 24:38Speaker 3: I know.
- 24:39Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 24:39Speaker 2: But everybody's catching up to the Chiefs or passing them
- 24:42Speaker 2: in a way.
- 24:45Speaker 1: I think we're going to get back to back. I
- 24:47Speaker 1: like the Denver Broncos beyond the division. I like them
- 24:51Speaker 1: to win the AFC 10 to 1. That's my squad
- 24:55Speaker 1: this year. So I'm glad we brought on a Denver guy.
- 24:58Speaker 3: All right, let's move.
- 25:00Speaker 1: To the Kansas city chiefs. I think if you go
- 25:02Speaker 1: back to the 2024 season, there were pretty clear signs
- 25:06Speaker 1: that things were growing stale and that the team was
- 25:08Speaker 1: getting old, but Patrick Mahomes and the defense, Andy Reed,
- 25:13Speaker 1: it just, they willed this team to a super bowl
- 25:15Speaker 1: and then they got demolished by the Eagles. Then they
- 25:18Speaker 1: entered 2025, probably with unrealistic expectations. Everybody was saying the
- 25:22Speaker 1: same thing. We were all, We're all in an echo
- 25:25Speaker 1: chamber going, well, don't worry. It's Patrick Mahomes. They'll be fine. Well,
- 25:28Speaker 1: it turns out they weren't fine, and then Mahomes got
- 25:30Speaker 1: injured in week 15. Is it a fair assessment to
- 25:33Speaker 1: say that this has actually been building for the last
- 25:38Speaker 1: couple of years, and we're not really sure what the
- 25:42Speaker 1: Chiefs are going into 2026 because they've been stale for
- 25:47Speaker 1: two years now?
- 25:48Speaker 5: Yeah, and look, the downfall of the Kansas City Chiefs
- 25:52Speaker 5: Is this going to be a long-term thing? Are we
- 25:55Speaker 5: looking towards Mahomes-Reed era number two? That's probably one of
- 25:59Speaker 5: the more intriguing questions is what Kansas City is going
- 26:01Speaker 5: to be this season. Obviously, they bring in Kenneth Walker,
- 26:04Speaker 5: and you're spot on with the stale nature of it.
- 26:06Speaker 5: of what they had been leading up to what ultimately
- 26:09Speaker 5: was an extremely disappointing season last year. But I mean,
- 26:12Speaker 5: if we're just looking at what history tells us, that's
- 26:13Speaker 5: more the outlier than the expectation. And so like, I'm
- 26:17Speaker 5: one of those guys, like, I don't think Kansas city
- 26:18Speaker 5: is going to be back to like 2021, 2022 form,
- 26:21Speaker 5: but I don't think they're going to win, you know,
- 26:23Speaker 5: less than six games again this year. I expect some
- 26:26Speaker 5: sort of bounce back from them necessarily. I think bringing
- 26:28Speaker 5: back Eric B enemy is big. I think you saw
- 26:30Speaker 5: Matt Nagy, maybe not just gel as much. I know
- 26:33Speaker 5: It's Andy Reid's playbook and all that kind of stuff, too.
- 26:35Speaker 5: But bringing in Walker's huge. But they have some big
- 26:37Speaker 5: departures on defense as well, in particular in their secondary.
- 26:40Speaker 5: So they're one of the more bizarre teams. I'm not
- 26:42Speaker 5: going to just rule them out because of what last
- 26:44Speaker 5: year was and say it's the end of an era.
- 26:46Speaker 5: But they certainly have a lot to prove this season
- 26:48Speaker 5: across the board.
- 26:49Speaker 2: What scares me with the Chiefs, and this is something
- 26:51Speaker 2: I've been talking about on a lot of the shows
- 26:53Speaker 2: that I've been doing recently, is I find across sports...
- 26:57Speaker 2: there is a point where you have an older roster,
- 27:02Speaker 2: an older half of your roster and a younger half
- 27:04Speaker 2: of your roster.
- 27:05Speaker 3: And in a weird way.
- 27:06Speaker 2: When you have that amount of just experience and newness,
- 27:10Speaker 2: they find a weird way to mesh. And that's what
- 27:12Speaker 2: scares me with this team in particular is that It
- 27:15Speaker 2: is really the perfect balance of experience and young guys
- 27:19Speaker 2: that if they find a way to click, that's what
- 27:21Speaker 2: makes me nervous. But for kind of the average football
- 27:26Speaker 2: consumer out there on paper, it feels like this offense
- 27:30Speaker 2: is going to be good, if not better than good.
- 27:33Speaker 2: But the defense and the injuries that they have are
- 27:35Speaker 2: what scares me. Are you more concerned about this offense
- 27:39Speaker 2: and their ability to find a way to click with
- 27:41Speaker 2: all of just the distractions and everything they have going on?
- 27:44Speaker 2: Or are you more concerned about the defense and their injuries?
- 27:47Speaker 4: I mean, I hate to cop out. I think it's
- 27:49Speaker 4: a combination of the two, right?
- 27:50Speaker 5: Like I think that you expect the offense to bounce back, right?
- 27:54Speaker 5: Like when you have a healthy Mahomes, assuming he is healthy, right?
- 27:57Speaker 5: Adding Kenneth Walker, like that's going to be big for
- 27:59Speaker 5: them for sure. But like you look at the departures
- 28:01Speaker 5: that they've had on defense, right? And it's specifically in
- 28:03Speaker 5: the secondary room, like that's not going to be easy
- 28:05Speaker 5: for them to replace. And it's like what Chris Jones is,
- 28:08Speaker 5: I think like 32, 33 years old, they're creeping up
- 28:10Speaker 5: towards 33 at this.
- 28:11Speaker 4: Point in his career. Like it's not the same. of
- 28:15Speaker 4: defense that this team has had in years past.
- 28:17Speaker 5: I know Spags is obviously an upper echelon defensive coordinator,
- 28:20Speaker 5: but part of the reason why I think Kansas City's
- 28:22Speaker 5: defense was so good is because they were able to
- 28:24Speaker 5: play with leads in years past. And when you kind
- 28:26Speaker 5: of look at the yin and the yang of this
- 28:27Speaker 5: Chiefs team, it's just like, which unit is going to
- 28:29Speaker 5: be the strongest, right? And I'm not, I would feel
- 28:31Speaker 5: more confident leaning on their offense than their defense, but
- 28:35Speaker 5: there's still questions with that, if that makes sense. So
- 28:38Speaker 5: I think you're spot on with the points you made too.
- 28:41Speaker 5: going to be up to the offense maybe providing this
- 28:44Speaker 5: defense with a little bit of breathing room just because
- 28:46Speaker 5: of the injuries along with some of the thinness in
- 28:49Speaker 5: their secondary I would say.
- 28:51Speaker 1: Big additions you mentioned the return of Eric Biennemi I
- 28:54Speaker 1: think that's huge maybe we didn't realize because we gave
- 28:57Speaker 1: Andy Reid so much credit all these years the impact
- 29:00Speaker 1: that Biennemi had on that offense and then you add
- 29:03Speaker 1: Kenneth Walker to the mix when we discuss the staleness
- 29:07Speaker 1: of this team There was this trend that hit a
- 29:10Speaker 1: couple of years ago where defensive coordinators realized, well, if
- 29:13Speaker 1: we just take out the deep ball and make you
- 29:17Speaker 1: beat us underneath and with the run game, then offenses
- 29:21Speaker 1: are much less explosive. And it felt like right at
- 29:23Speaker 1: that moment, we saw my homes go from this like
- 29:27Speaker 1: Dan Marino level of statistical Marvel to a dink and
- 29:32Speaker 1: dunk Tom Brady passer. And he's great at both, but
- 29:35Speaker 1: there was like some of the magic left his game.
- 29:39Speaker 1: I wonder if that's why they felt the need to
- 29:41Speaker 1: get Kenneth Walker. Cause if you're going to take away
- 29:43Speaker 1: the deep ball into the too high safety thing, you
- 29:45Speaker 1: have to have somebody elite running the ball. Do you
- 29:48Speaker 1: expect that to shift the dynamic nature of this offense? The,
- 29:54Speaker 1: the Kenneth Walker edition, the, does that, is that enough?
- 29:58Speaker 1: to supercharge things and put them back to where they
- 30:00Speaker 1: were a few years ago.
- 30:02Speaker 4: Well, I think that's their game plan, right?
- 30:05Speaker 5: I got my Kenneth Walker guy, and I think he's
- 30:07Speaker 5: going to be pretty effective for Kansas City, and it
- 30:10Speaker 5: was time for them to probably peace out on Pacheco
- 30:12Speaker 5: and Kareem Hunt.
- 30:13Speaker 4: I think that had kind of run.
- 30:14Speaker 5: Its course, and obviously Walker, with what he was able
- 30:16Speaker 5: to do in Seattle, if you can do that, and
- 30:19Speaker 5: then knowing you have the arm channel that you do
- 30:22Speaker 5: in Patrick Mahomes, you hope that it kind of opens
- 30:24Speaker 5: up some of those down-the-field shots, and just that versatility
- 30:27Speaker 5: that you're talking about with Walker, I think overall is
- 30:30Speaker 5: what's going to hopefully lead to this Kansas city team,
- 30:33Speaker 5: like re-unlocking what they were before, which is a super
- 30:36Speaker 5: explosive offense that can just run up points. And you're
- 30:38Speaker 5: talking about like Marino LA-esque type of performances from Mahomes.
- 30:42Speaker 5: But the question along with Kenneth Walker is his health, right?
- 30:45Speaker 5: This is a guy that's been banged up multiple times
- 30:46Speaker 5: in his career. And it feels like you're putting a
- 30:48Speaker 5: lot of eggs in one basket with Kenneth Walker. So
- 30:50Speaker 5: obviously if he's healthy and he's ready to go, I
- 30:52Speaker 5: think it'll be very effective, but like Travis Kelsey isn't
- 30:55Speaker 5: what he used to be. So like beyond Kenneth Walker,
- 30:58Speaker 5: what other weapons do you have to necessarily rely on
- 31:00Speaker 5: after Kansas city?
- 31:02Speaker 1: No, another factor to this. And, uh, you know, this, uh,
- 31:05Speaker 1: sometimes we like to bring up the silly on this podcast.
- 31:08Speaker 3: Sometimes.
- 31:10Speaker 1: Have as Kelsey got married in the most public marriage
- 31:13Speaker 1: of all time, perhaps as well. It does feel like
- 31:20Speaker 1: perhaps like the popularity of this team from the mainstream
- 31:25Speaker 1: has now gotten so big that like the bubble is bursting.
- 31:28Speaker 1: And then on top of it, It has happened at
- 31:31Speaker 1: the exact same time that Travis Kelsey is not the
- 31:33Speaker 1: same player that he was in his prime. Does that
- 31:37Speaker 1: wait on this team at all? In your opinion, that.
- 31:41Speaker 2: He put on a lot of weight this off season.
- 31:46Speaker 1: That's why he's playing in the free season. He's trying
- 31:48Speaker 1: to work it off. Do you think that that carries
- 31:51Speaker 1: any weight as far as looking at them? And yeah,
- 31:55Speaker 1: there you go. I said it again. You know what
- 31:57Speaker 1: I'm trying to say? Does the pressure mount to the
- 32:00Speaker 1: point where now like you can't overcome it if you're
- 32:02Speaker 1: not great and you have all the swift energy in.
- 32:06Speaker 2: The building to sell their wedding video for billions of dollars?
- 32:10Speaker 1: I'm not worried about not worried about Kelsey financially, but
- 32:14Speaker 1: I mean, is he dialed in? I guess is the
- 32:17Speaker 1: more direct question.
- 32:19Speaker 4: Why else would he come back?
- 32:20Speaker 5: Like, I mean, I dialed in, I don't, there's gotta
- 32:23Speaker 5: be some degree of level of focus, right? Because like,
- 32:27Speaker 5: if you're married Taylor Swift and you're, I mean, he
- 32:29Speaker 5: was set for life even before.
- 32:31Speaker 1: You know, with everything.
- 32:32Speaker 4: Yeah, no, that's true. That's true.
- 32:35Speaker 5: But you know, the stuff that he's doing with his brother,
- 32:37Speaker 5: like Travis Kelsey doesn't need to play for status or
- 32:40Speaker 5: money or anything like that. So like, you know, maybe
- 32:42Speaker 5: it's kind of like having that bad taste in your
- 32:44Speaker 5: mouth and you want to come back and kind of
- 32:45Speaker 5: give it one last ride.
- 32:46Speaker 4: Like, I don't really know.
- 32:47Speaker 5: I think I'm just kind of accepting of where Travis
- 32:50Speaker 5: Kelsey is at in his career, which is like, he
- 32:51Speaker 5: ain't as good as he once was. Right. But he
- 32:53Speaker 5: could still be effective hopefully in some spurts, but like,
- 32:56Speaker 5: you can't like, if we're looking at 10 out of
- 32:58Speaker 5: 10 version of Travis Kelsey, like I don't think he'll
- 33:00Speaker 5: ever return to that form, like maybe for a driver
- 33:02Speaker 5: or two or a game or two, but like he's
- 33:05Speaker 5: taken a step back as he kind of finds himself
- 33:07Speaker 5: on the back nine. I'm not sure if that has
- 33:09Speaker 5: to do with his, life situation as much as just
- 33:11Speaker 5: kind of his.
- 33:12Speaker 1: Age as well yeah i mostly asked that just so
- 33:15Speaker 1: that um i could i could get the trolls in
- 33:19Speaker 1: the comments to call us casuals i just like.
- 33:21Speaker 2: To get them i have seen a random teenage girl
- 33:25Speaker 2: in a jacksonville florida publics and a swift 87 jersey
- 33:29Speaker 2: and i have had.
- 33:30Speaker 1: Enough it's crazy Comment below, please.
- 33:35Speaker 2: I'm so in on the sport, having more girls and
- 33:37Speaker 2: stuff and doing whatever in the fashion of it all. Clearly,
- 33:40Speaker 2: I am into that because that's like 90% of what
- 33:43Speaker 2: I create online.
- 33:45Speaker 3: But just pipe down for five minutes, please.
- 33:50Speaker 1: Over under sitting at ten and a half, heavily juiced
- 33:52Speaker 1: to the under for the Kansas City Chiefs at minus 140.
- 33:56Speaker 3: He's like, what did I get into?
- 33:58Speaker 1: Yes, for sure. I'm surprised it took this long. There's
- 34:01Speaker 1: still the odds on favorite to win this division at
- 34:04Speaker 1: plus one 60. What I find fascinating is that you
- 34:06Speaker 1: basically have mirrored odds for them to miss the playoffs
- 34:09Speaker 1: at plus one 70. So plus one 60 to win
- 34:12Speaker 1: the division plus one 70 to miss the playoffs entirely.
- 34:15Speaker 1: So even the odds makers are telling you, we don't
- 34:18Speaker 1: know what the hell to do with this team. What
- 34:20Speaker 1: is the best case scenario in ELO as far as
- 34:23Speaker 1: the Kansas city chiefs go?
- 34:26Speaker 5: Look, man, it's like when you have Patrick Mahomes, I
- 34:27Speaker 5: want to sit here and say you could win it all.
- 34:29Speaker 4: And I guess theoretically, that's always going to be a possibility.
- 34:32Speaker 5: But like to your point, like I kind of have
- 34:33Speaker 5: to see it to believe it again with Kansas City,
- 34:35Speaker 5: which I know is a crazy thing to talk about
- 34:37Speaker 5: because like we were comparing Mahomes.
- 34:39Speaker 4: To like Brady, right? Like for so long, but that's
- 34:42Speaker 4: just kind of where it is right now.
- 34:43Speaker 5: So I would say like best case scenario for them
- 34:45Speaker 5: is obviously, you know, be the representative of the AFC,
- 34:47Speaker 5: be in the AFC championship game. I think the more
- 34:49Speaker 5: realistic scenario is fringe playoff team, if not missing the
- 34:53Speaker 5: playoffs entirely.
- 34:55Speaker 1: Best way to bet him, Kendra. What do you got?
- 34:57Speaker 3: I think missing the playoffs.
- 34:59Speaker 2: I get that the ceiling of this team could be crazy,
- 35:02Speaker 2: but it's the distraction angle for me. You're dealing with
- 35:05Speaker 2: the Taylor Swift wedding crap.
- 35:07Speaker 3: Mahomes is coming back from an injury.
- 35:09Speaker 2: All the drama and the unfortunate circumstances that Eric Bien-Ami
- 35:13Speaker 2: has gone through this offseason.
- 35:14Speaker 3: The off-the-field arrests and jail time. It's just... It's too much.
- 35:19Speaker 2: And then you add into the mix, like the amount
- 35:21Speaker 2: of postseason and extra football that the majority of this
- 35:24Speaker 2: team has on their body.
- 35:25Speaker 3: Over the last couple of years.
- 35:27Speaker 2: I'm very out on this Kansas City Chiefs team.
- 35:30Speaker 3: I honestly think.
- 35:31Speaker 2: That the Raiders could outperform them this season, and that
- 35:34Speaker 2: might be a hot take, but I'm very high on
- 35:36Speaker 2: the Raiders.
- 35:37Speaker 1: I'm not opposed to that. I'm very much in the
- 35:41Speaker 1: I don't know what to do with this team. I mean,
- 35:44Speaker 1: stats wise, wins wise. I just don't know what to
- 35:47Speaker 1: do with this team. So I abstain. I am not
- 35:50Speaker 1: betting on or against the chiefs as far as the
- 35:54Speaker 1: season long goes. I do like the Broncos in week
- 35:56Speaker 1: one plus two and a half though. There I go
- 35:58Speaker 1: with the Broncos again, uh, on yellow, anything, any, any
- 36:01Speaker 1: hot take on the, uh, on, on the chiefs in
- 36:04Speaker 1: terms of how you would bet them in either direction.
- 36:07Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 36:08Speaker 5: I just think the division odds are, A bit bizarre
- 36:11Speaker 5: just because I think you have two teams that are
- 36:12Speaker 5: more proven in the Los Angeles Chargers and the Denver Broncos.
- 36:16Speaker 5: So the fact that Kansas City to me is more
- 36:18Speaker 5: so the favorite is because of their name value and
- 36:20Speaker 5: their brand recognition.
- 36:22Speaker 4: Like I said, I'd probably lean under 10.5.
- 36:24Speaker 5: How is Kansas City's win total 10.5 and Denver's 9.5
- 36:27Speaker 5: considering the seasons they both just had? Make that make
- 36:29Speaker 5: sense to me? So, yeah, I would lean towards them
- 36:31Speaker 5: missing the playoffs. And I hate to keep you on
- 36:35Speaker 5: this bandwagon. I think the Broncos plus two and a
- 36:37Speaker 5: half line is disrespectful for week one.
- 36:39Speaker 4: So I look at that for Denver.
- 36:40Speaker 1: Yes, I agree with that. I would I would even
- 36:43Speaker 1: sell a game if you're going to take the under
- 36:44Speaker 1: on the Chiefs. If it goes bad, it's probably going
- 36:46Speaker 1: to go really bad. And I would take the plus
- 36:49Speaker 1: money nine and a half. Let's move to the Chargers.
- 36:51Speaker 1: We've got two more to get to. Let's fly through
- 36:53Speaker 1: these back to back 11 win seasons for L.A. They
- 36:56Speaker 1: haven't won a playoff game in eight years. Kendra hates
- 37:00Speaker 1: Justin Herbert. That's sort of the story of the chargers.
- 37:03Speaker 1: This team always feels talented enough. They rarely feel healthy
- 37:07Speaker 1: enough and they never feel like they're ready for the
- 37:10Speaker 1: moment when it's called upon offensive fundamental shift though, with
- 37:15Speaker 1: Mike McDaniel, you know, the dolphins have really infused the
- 37:18Speaker 1: AFC West with Jalen Waddle and Denver and Mike McDaniel,
- 37:22Speaker 1: the offensive play caller for the chargers. What do you
- 37:24Speaker 1: expect from this team this year?
- 37:26Speaker 4: Yeah, they're, they're an interesting one, right? And it's kind
- 37:28Speaker 4: of like, You're going back to the well once again.
- 37:31Speaker 5: I was on the charge in the playoffs, and Herbert
- 37:33Speaker 5: did what Herbert does in the playoffs, and it's just
- 37:36Speaker 5: got this bad taste in my mouth.
- 37:37Speaker 4: But here's the reality situation for a regular season.
- 37:39Speaker 5: I don't think Harbaugh has ever won fewer than nine
- 37:43Speaker 5: games in a season. So we know the floor is
- 37:45Speaker 5: really high for this Los Angeles Chargers team, and I
- 37:48Speaker 5: expect them to be back in the mix. I think
- 37:49Speaker 5: Mike McDaniel, I know maybe his stock's a bit down
- 37:51Speaker 5: because of how his Miami tenure ended, but I still
- 37:54Speaker 5: think he's a really good offensive mind. I think he's
- 37:55Speaker 5: going to work well. with Justin Herbert, like if we
- 37:58Speaker 5: want to play the marriage card, right. Like, you know,
- 38:00Speaker 5: Justin Herbert just got married too. So like, or he's
- 38:02Speaker 5: engaged rather. So like, the motivation conspiracy theory, if you
- 38:05Speaker 5: want to play that a little bit, but I think
- 38:07Speaker 5: the chargers are going to be, you know, an effective team.
- 38:10Speaker 5: I mean, losing Biotis for what appears to be the
- 38:12Speaker 5: entire season, their starting center is going to be brutal.
- 38:15Speaker 5: But if you keep Slater and Alt healthy, you're.
- 38:17Speaker 4: Going to have a chance.
- 38:18Speaker 5: And again, I think their floor is really high just
- 38:20Speaker 5: because that's what it is with the Harbaugh led team.
- 38:23Speaker 5: But the question is like, what are they going to
- 38:24Speaker 5: be come playoff time? Like I'm pretty confident they're going
- 38:26Speaker 5: to be in the mix and, you know, be an
- 38:28Speaker 5: upper echelon team and have a chance to win the
- 38:29Speaker 5: AFC West and But when they get to the lights
- 38:33Speaker 5: being bright, that's where I.
- 38:34Speaker 4: Think the questions come out for this Chargers team.
- 38:36Speaker 3: I agree with you.
- 38:37Speaker 2: I think Justin Herbert has a lack of clutch gene.
- 38:40Speaker 2: It's just not there for him for some reason. But
- 38:43Speaker 2: to be honest, I don't even think we really need
- 38:44Speaker 2: to be having that conversation because this offensive line, once again,
- 38:48Speaker 2: already decimated before the season starts. You have fucking Cole
- 38:51Speaker 2: Strange starting at right guard for you. If you don't
- 38:55Speaker 2: have an offensive line, you have nothing.
- 38:56Speaker 3: I'm sorry.
- 38:57Speaker 2: I've been talking about this with the New England Patriots
- 38:59Speaker 2: for weeks now. It's the same exact situation that Joe
- 39:02Speaker 2: Burrow has been going through for his entire career. You
- 39:04Speaker 2: can have the weapons, you can have everything else, but
- 39:06Speaker 2: if you don't have an offensive line to keep you upright,
- 39:09Speaker 2: it doesn't matter. So I just, yeah, like that's kind
- 39:13Speaker 2: of where I'm at with this team. I, I think
- 39:16Speaker 2: what the most likely outcome for them here is if
- 39:18Speaker 2: the defense can be good enough to contribute for them offensively,
- 39:22Speaker 2: like on paper, this offense looks great. I just, I
- 39:25Speaker 2: agree with you about the regular season thing. I just
- 39:28Speaker 2: don't think this offensive line is going. to allow this
- 39:31Speaker 2: offense to be who it can be, especially adding McDaniel
- 39:34Speaker 2: to the mix. I just, I want to fall in
- 39:36Speaker 2: love with them, but I can't.
- 39:38Speaker 4: Yeah. I think it makes sense.
- 39:39Speaker 5: Like I think it's gonna be interesting to see like
- 39:40Speaker 5: what Omarion Hampton looks like this year, right? Like his
- 39:42Speaker 5: rookie season was pretty bank. He's pretty banged up. And
- 39:45Speaker 5: I mean, he's got a lot of upside as a
- 39:47Speaker 5: running back. And we know like, that's the interesting thing
- 39:48Speaker 5: to me is like the McDaniel aspect of it is like,
- 39:51Speaker 5: how is that going to try to evolve Justin Herbert
- 39:53Speaker 5: as a pastor? Because I think we saw under Staley,
- 39:55Speaker 5: like one version of Herbert and now under Harbaugh, it's
- 39:58Speaker 5: kind of been another version. And it's like, what is
- 40:00Speaker 5: McDaniel going to do? And ultimately all roads lead back
- 40:02Speaker 5: to the offensive line. So I didn't even be competitive.
- 40:05Speaker 5: Like I'd be surprised, like as long as they're relatively
- 40:07Speaker 5: healthy beyond the offensive line, like I think they're going
- 40:10Speaker 5: to be, you know, 500 or better team. And I
- 40:11Speaker 5: think they're going to compete in the AFC West, but
- 40:14Speaker 5: I think you're right. Like it all starts with the
- 40:15Speaker 5: offensive line and like, they're like cursed when it comes
- 40:18Speaker 5: to keeping those guys healthy.
- 40:19Speaker 4: It's ridiculous.
- 40:21Speaker 2: So what are your expectations for Ladd McConkie this season?
- 40:26Speaker 2: Obviously had an electric rookie season, fell off a bit
- 40:29Speaker 2: last year. He was someone that I chased as far
- 40:31Speaker 2: as the prop market goes last year, and he absolutely
- 40:34Speaker 2: burned me. What version of him do you think that
- 40:37Speaker 2: we're going to get?
- 40:38Speaker 5: I think, I think the natural expectation is for him
- 40:41Speaker 5: to bounce back.
- 40:42Speaker 4: Like, will he ever be as effective as he was
- 40:43Speaker 4: in his rookie season? Like that's obviously hard to project.
- 40:45Speaker 2: Right.
- 40:46Speaker 5: But like, I would think that last year was a
- 40:48Speaker 5: bit more down than what he will generally be. And again,
- 40:51Speaker 5: like that's where I think Mike McDaniel, like opening some
- 40:54Speaker 5: stuff up with Omarion Hampton, like that's the guy that
- 40:55Speaker 5: I'm most excited for just in this Chargers offense, because
- 40:58Speaker 5: what is that going to do? Not just for the
- 40:59Speaker 5: running game, but also for lab McClunky and the rest
- 41:02Speaker 5: of the passing attack for this, this Chargers team. Like,
- 41:04Speaker 5: it just feels like we'll get a new version of
- 41:06Speaker 5: this Chargers offense and And that could obviously mean big
- 41:08Speaker 5: things for the wide receiver room just in general.
- 41:11Speaker 1: You know, Kendra mentioned the defense and with so much
- 41:14Speaker 1: focus on Justin Herbert and the addition of Mike McDaniel,
- 41:18Speaker 1: I think we forget that this is a defense that's in,
- 41:22Speaker 1: it's in a little bit of transition. It's also getting older.
- 41:25Speaker 1: Jesse Minter is gone. He's now the head coach of
- 41:27Speaker 1: the Ravens. Do you worry about the defense taking a
- 41:30Speaker 1: step back? Chris O'Leary is taking over. He's a Minter protege,
- 41:33Speaker 1: so they're not going to change much. of the scheme DNA.
- 41:36Speaker 1: They're going to disguise stuff, post snap rotations, simulated pressures,
- 41:41Speaker 1: all that stuff that mentor was famous for. And that
- 41:44Speaker 1: got him that job, a key Mesidor. They bring in
- 41:46Speaker 1: from Miami, but Khalil Mack, Derwin James, like these guys
- 41:51Speaker 1: aren't getting any younger. I just don't really know what
- 41:53Speaker 1: to make of this defense.
- 41:54Speaker 4: Yeah, I think that's fair. And obviously, Minter is a
- 41:58Speaker 4: big departure.
- 41:59Speaker 5: And I think hiring a protege is probably the best
- 42:01Speaker 5: thing they could have done just to try to keep
- 42:03Speaker 5: the main thing the main thing and keep it all
- 42:05Speaker 5: relatively consistent there.
- 42:06Speaker 4: So here's the thing. There's more volatility with the offense.
- 42:11Speaker 5: And I think they have a better chance to boom
- 42:13Speaker 5: than bust, really just kind of depending on health. But
- 42:16Speaker 5: when it comes to their defense, I don't think they
- 42:18Speaker 5: should take that big of a step back, if at all,
- 42:21Speaker 5: just because of the veteran aspect of their defense and
- 42:23Speaker 5: keeping the scheme the same. So I think it's going
- 42:24Speaker 5: to be interesting because Minter was obviously really effective as
- 42:28Speaker 5: the defensive coordinator. But the fact that you're kind of
- 42:30Speaker 5: keeping things relatively consistent, I think, bodes well for the
- 42:34Speaker 5: Chargers defense.
- 42:36Speaker 1: In this case scenario, I think we would all agree,
- 42:38Speaker 1: just win a playoff game, Justin Herbert. That's it. Just
- 42:41Speaker 1: go win a playoff game. That's the best thing that
- 42:44Speaker 1: we could do. Kendra, how are you betting this team?
- 42:48Speaker 5: I'm not.
- 42:49Speaker 1: All right. Um, there you have it. I'm going to,
- 42:52Speaker 1: this is the one, this is the note, by the way,
- 42:54Speaker 1: this is the live bet. They're under wind total after
- 42:57Speaker 1: week two Cardinals Raiders is how they open the season.
- 43:00Speaker 1: Then it's the bills, Seahawks, chiefs, Broncos, Rams, Texans, Ravens
- 43:05Speaker 1: in consecutive weeks. So just wait till week two live
- 43:09Speaker 1: bet the under on their wind total. Let's close with
- 43:13Speaker 1: the Raiders. Out with the old, in with the new,
- 43:16Speaker 1: at least as the head coach goes. Pete Carroll lasted
- 43:18Speaker 1: all of one year. Now they bring in Clint Kubiak,
- 43:21Speaker 1: fresh off of his Super Bowl win as the offensive
- 43:23Speaker 1: play caller for the Seahawks. We escape the scare of
- 43:26Speaker 1: the century with Ashton Gentry. It's just a sprained ankle,
- 43:30Speaker 1: but I am cautiously optimistic on the Raiders. It sounds
- 43:35Speaker 1: like we've got some pot agreement. Are you on board
- 43:38Speaker 1: on ELO?
- 43:39Speaker 5: I was cautiously optimistic about them last year, and look
- 43:42Speaker 5: how far that got. I thought Pete Carroll might be interesting,
- 43:45Speaker 5: and I like Jen T, and obviously Brock Bowers is
- 43:47Speaker 5: a stud. And yeah, I think in theory, there's only
- 43:52Speaker 5: up from here for this Raiders team. Like I said
- 43:54Speaker 5: at the beginning of the show, it's been an organization
- 43:55Speaker 5: that we've been rebuilding essentially for my entire life outside
- 43:59Speaker 5: of the one car season, which was kind of fun.
- 44:01Speaker 4: But you know, I think all eyes are going to
- 44:03Speaker 4: be on Mendoza.
- 44:04Speaker 5: I think you, you would think Kirk Cousins is maybe
- 44:06Speaker 5: the most stable quarterback they've had, you know, in quite
- 44:08Speaker 5: some time. Although I kind of thought that was, you know,
- 44:10Speaker 5: last year too, but to me, like the definition of
- 44:13Speaker 5: success for the Raiders this year is maybe seeing what
- 44:16Speaker 5: you got Mendoza. Cause I'm assuming he's going to play
- 44:18Speaker 5: at some point or the other and just figuring out
- 44:20Speaker 5: if you got something with gentee, right? Like there's so
- 44:21Speaker 5: many moving parts with this Raiders team that like, you know,
- 44:25Speaker 5: I don't think they're going to be a 500 team.
- 44:26Speaker 5: I'm not sure if you guys disagree with that, but like,
- 44:28Speaker 5: it feels like you can only go up from here
- 44:30Speaker 5: and there's no foundation that's been laid with this organization
- 44:32Speaker 5: in a long time. So it's like, you need to
- 44:34Speaker 5: take your first baby step so you can continue to
- 44:36Speaker 5: grow and blossom as a franchise.
- 44:38Speaker 2: I think that there's too much of a what-have-you-done-for-me-lately narrative
- 44:42Speaker 2: with this franchise. They have building block pieces on the
- 44:46Speaker 2: offense and the defense, and all it's going to take
- 44:49Speaker 2: is a little bit of get-up.
- 44:50Speaker 3: Like, this team, I'm so high on them.
- 44:54Speaker 2: The fact that they have Fernando Mendoza, who's supposed to
- 44:56Speaker 2: come back at some point, Jenty, who I think is
- 44:58Speaker 2: going to be a baller.
- 44:59Speaker 3: I know he, what, sprained his ankle yesterday.
- 45:00Speaker 2: Brock Bowers is the best tight end in the league,
- 45:03Speaker 2: and I don't even think it's really close, in my opinion.
- 45:05Speaker 3: They built up the... Oh, oh..
- 45:08Speaker 4: Bride.
- 45:10Speaker 2: I just i think that after no i think i'm
- 45:14Speaker 2: gonna go brock bowers here i think i am i'm
- 45:16Speaker 2: gonna go bowers expected and i think that the fact
- 45:19Speaker 2: that max crosby is returning to this team is a
- 45:22Speaker 2: blessing in disguise i just i think that this is
- 45:25Speaker 2: a 500 team boys i'm literally trying to live bet
- 45:27Speaker 2: this right now.
- 45:28Speaker 5: So she likes the raiders but she doesn't like the
- 45:30Speaker 5: broncos that's uh It's an interesting way to look at
- 45:33Speaker 5: the AFC.
- 45:33Speaker 4: I did not have that one on my bingo card today.
- 45:35Speaker 1: That's why.
- 45:35Speaker 5: Because you went to Auburn and he was bad with Auburn,
- 45:38Speaker 5: but he was pretty good with Oregon.
- 45:40Speaker 3: Because of that baby sitting coach.
- 45:43Speaker 4: It is all relative.
- 45:44Speaker 1: And I look at the AFC as a conference that
- 45:49Speaker 1: is going to deliver some weird. The NFC is not.
- 45:53Speaker 1: The NFC, it feels like you can basically take 10
- 45:58Speaker 1: teams in that conference and And confidently say seven of
- 46:01Speaker 1: these are making it into the playoffs. It's it is
- 46:04Speaker 1: going to, to between the NFC North and the NFC West,
- 46:08Speaker 1: like pretty much the entire post season for the NFC
- 46:10Speaker 1: is going to come from those two divisions in the AFC.
- 46:14Speaker 1: I think it's going to get weird. And the Raiders
- 46:18Speaker 1: jets and Titans are the three teams that I have
- 46:23Speaker 1: the Titans.
- 46:23Speaker 3: I hate to say it. They really fucked me over
- 46:26Speaker 3: on Sunday, but I listen.
- 46:29Speaker 1: The general theory is it's the NFL and it gets
- 46:32Speaker 1: weird every year. We never get a post season that
- 46:35Speaker 1: we fully expect. Somebody is going to break through. I
- 46:38Speaker 1: think it's less likely in the NFC. So I'm looking
- 46:41Speaker 1: under the microscope in the AFC and I agree with Kendra.
- 46:45Speaker 1: I like this roster. They've done a lot. They spent
- 46:49Speaker 1: a lot of money on defense, Tyler Linderbaum on the
- 46:51Speaker 1: offensive line. So let's just jump right to it. I
- 46:54Speaker 1: think best case scenario for them playoffs. I don't think
- 46:56Speaker 1: they're going to win the division. But 8-1 to enter
- 47:00Speaker 1: the postseason as a wild card. That is how I'm
- 47:03Speaker 1: betting the Raiders this year. Anilo?
- 47:05Speaker 4: I mean, I could not personally bet the Raiders at
- 47:09Speaker 4: this point.
- 47:09Speaker 5: Like I said, I'd rather not lose money or just
- 47:12Speaker 5: retain money than even put like $ 10 on the Raiders.
- 47:15Speaker 4: To make the playoffs.
- 47:16Speaker 5: Just because much like I'm kind of feeling like with
- 47:17Speaker 5: the Chiefs and the Chargers, you kind of have to
- 47:19Speaker 5: kind of show it to me. And I think there's
- 47:21Speaker 5: a lot of upside with the Raiders, right? Like I
- 47:23Speaker 5: think their floor is going to be a lot higher.
- 47:25Speaker 5: And to me, I think best case scenario is like
- 47:27Speaker 5: a 500 season, right? I'd be shocked if they make
- 47:29Speaker 5: the playoffs and hopefully you guys clip it and prove
- 47:32Speaker 5: me wrong when this season is all said and done.
- 47:33Speaker 4: Would love that. But I'm just not buying what they're
- 47:36Speaker 4: selling right now. I think they'll be better though. I do.
- 47:39Speaker 1: Kendra, you with me?
- 47:40Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm trying to find a way to log this
- 47:43Speaker 2: in action right now, but I can't there. It's not
- 47:46Speaker 2: where I want it to be, but I will be
- 47:47Speaker 2: logging the over on the Raiders win total and I'm
- 47:50Speaker 2: going to be searching for some Jonah Coleman props.
- 47:53Speaker 1: Over-under for them sitting at 5.5. Anilo Piro, 104.3 Denver Sports.
- 48:00Speaker 1: Thanks so much, AP. Fun chat.
- 48:02Speaker 4: Yeah, enjoy the season. Good luck on your bets, and
- 48:04Speaker 4: we'll see what happens with the AFC West. Thank you, guys.
- 48:08Speaker 1: Time to plant the flag on the AFC West.
- 48:12Speaker 4: Plant the flag, get it set up. I'm trying to
- 48:14Speaker 4: plant my flag here, okay?
- 48:15Speaker 1: You really planted your flag on that thing? Top tier,
- 48:19Speaker 1: top of the line. What are you looking at as
- 48:21Speaker 1: the best way to represent the Middleton brand as we
- 48:25Speaker 1: plant the flag on the AFC West?
- 48:29Speaker 3: I said it once, I'll say it twice. I'm looking
- 48:31Speaker 3: to log the.
- 48:33Speaker 2: Raiders over five and a half in my app for
- 48:36Speaker 2: action right now. I'm going to do that on DK
- 48:37Speaker 2: as soon as we log off as well. And I
- 48:40Speaker 2: will be looking for Jonah Coleman props. I really think
- 48:42Speaker 2: that he's going to fly up this depth chart rather
- 48:44Speaker 2: quickly on this team.
- 48:44Speaker 3: I got to be honest. Maybe even a sleeper fantasy look.
- 48:48Speaker 1: I do like Jonah Coleman. He's looked really good in
- 48:50Speaker 1: the preseason, but I'm a big RJ Harvey guy. Went
- 48:52Speaker 1: to UCF, so a bit of a homer there. Speaking
- 48:56Speaker 1: of the Broncos, I like... Denver Broncos to win the
- 49:00Speaker 1: division first place schedule. Yes, but they are the most
- 49:03Speaker 1: complete team. They have a very real home field advantage
- 49:06Speaker 1: and an infusion of offensive talent with Jalen Waddle. I
- 49:09Speaker 1: am all in on the Denver Broncos. That is our plant.
- 49:13Speaker 1: The flag presented by draft Kings. The crown is yours.
- 49:18Speaker 1: The favorites will return on Thursday. as we wrap up
- 49:20Speaker 1: our division previews with the best one. The NFC West,
- 49:27Speaker 1: and you can catch it right here on the action network,
- 49:29Speaker 1: YouTube page, or wherever you download your favorite podcast.
