- 6:49Speaker 13: It's me October London and.
- 6:53Speaker 12: Yeah it's gonna be great.
- 6:55Speaker 13: How long man a whole month and a half April
- 7:01Speaker 13: seventeenth to May thirty.
- 7:02Speaker 7: First running in the city.
- 7:05Speaker 8: There.
- 7:05Speaker 12: You I love touring.
- 7:07Speaker 13: It's very tiring, you know, and it's strenuous and it's
- 7:13Speaker 13: it's a lot of kooties out there, you know.
- 7:16Speaker 12: It's a lot of touching people. Thinking about think about that.
- 7:19Speaker 13: When you do a meet and greet, hundreds of people
- 7:22Speaker 13: want to hug you, shake your head, put their breath
- 7:24Speaker 13: in it. They want to talk, they want to tell
- 7:27Speaker 13: you their story, and they like.
- 7:35Speaker 7: Potato.
- 7:39Speaker 13: But it's great, you know, because I'm a military bread
- 7:42Speaker 13: so I grew up just traveling and meeting new people.
- 7:46Speaker 12: So I'm able to adapt and move and just talk
- 7:49Speaker 12: to anybody.
- 7:49Speaker 13: So I like going out and just meeting people because
- 7:52Speaker 13: there's a.
- 7:52Speaker 12: Lot of people in this world and there's a.
- 7:55Speaker 13: Lot of like just all the different types of people,
- 7:58Speaker 13: you know what I'm saying. So I like that part
- 8:00Speaker 13: about it, you know what I'm saying.
- 8:02Speaker 12: And getting to go to new cities and I like,
- 8:04Speaker 12: you know, I like shopping.
- 8:05Speaker 8: I like how many cities are y'all going to?
- 8:09Speaker 12: It's like twenty something.
- 8:11Speaker 8: Twenty one month, wow, So like every few days every month, twenty.
- 8:16Speaker 1: Cities and one month.
- 8:17Speaker 7: Wait, so you guys like.
- 8:19Speaker 3: Tour buses and stuff like it, or.
- 8:21Speaker 10: I'm flying not me.
- 8:25Speaker 12: Well, I'm a special guest.
- 8:26Speaker 13: So it's really it's really October's tour and I'm just
- 8:29Speaker 13: like they was.
- 8:30Speaker 12: Like some I'm coming and be like remember me, all right,
- 8:34Speaker 12: I'm about to put some new ship.
- 8:36Speaker 13: Oh yeah, I'm putting music out. I just became independent.
- 8:40Speaker 13: I just left my label.
- 8:48Speaker 12: It's been it's been a long time coming.
- 8:50Speaker 13: And I've been the creative of all my music and
- 8:54Speaker 13: my visuals and my homies I put together. So it's like,
- 8:57Speaker 13: you know, if I could do it by myself anyway, you.
- 9:02Speaker 12: Know, but I had.
- 9:04Speaker 13: I had a great experience with the label, and they
- 9:05Speaker 13: put me into a space where a lot of people
- 9:07Speaker 13: know me now, and so now I can be like,
- 9:10Speaker 13: so there's so much more that's.
- 9:18Speaker 7: Foundation.
- 9:19Speaker 13: Take a minute to like decompressed and re learn and
- 9:23Speaker 13: unlearned industry standards and just tap back into just being
- 9:27Speaker 13: a free creative and not really necessarily trying to create
- 9:30Speaker 13: to fit radio or like, Okay, this is what it's showing.
- 9:36Speaker 13: Your demographic is liking, so you have to create that.
- 9:39Speaker 13: I'm over here, hurting, bro, you want me to make
- 9:41Speaker 13: a party song, or I'm not hurting you want me,
- 9:44Speaker 13: or I don't want to talk about I want to
- 9:46Speaker 13: talk about the condition of the world.
- 9:47Speaker 12: You want to talk about you know. So it's like
- 9:50Speaker 12: it's interesting.
- 9:50Speaker 7: These people forget that you're an artist. You're not this
- 9:53Speaker 7: robot that just artist.
- 9:58Speaker 12: But I mean that's the thing. When you go to
- 9:59Speaker 12: a machine, you are part of you. You have to
- 10:02Speaker 12: remember that that's what you signed up for. What you wanted.
- 10:05Speaker 13: Yeah, you wanted to be put into the space where
- 10:07Speaker 13: people see you more. So it's like it is market
- 10:10Speaker 13: and studying statistics and what people are liking. But then
- 10:14Speaker 13: sometimes it's manipulated. Sometimes it's not necessarily correct. This is
- 10:18Speaker 13: based on this and people want to feel. Again, it's
- 10:20Speaker 13: like we can get the feelings that you use that machine.
- 10:23Speaker 7: That's exactly.
- 10:25Speaker 5: So when are we expecting music?
- 10:27Speaker 13: The first joint is dropping on the eighteenth.
- 10:31Speaker 7: Exclusive and Behaved.
- 10:34Speaker 13: Exclusive and then my official first single is dropping first.
- 10:38Speaker 12: We came back.
- 10:40Speaker 4: And we get you before you get Yeah, they just
- 10:48Speaker 4: we sold out the first night, so they added the
- 10:50Speaker 4: second night.
- 10:50Speaker 13: Oh wow, I think it's the fourteenth of May.
- 10:54Speaker 8: We have to come to.
- 10:59Speaker 12: That backstage and do an interview.
- 11:04Speaker 3: Because we'll be here, I mean I'll be here by
- 11:06Speaker 3: May that.
- 11:07Speaker 14: Okay, yeah, do y'all want to do like a quick
- 11:10Speaker 14: grad Let's just we've been doing games, bro, so you
- 11:12Speaker 14: gotta you gotta play a lot.
- 11:22Speaker 12: All right.
- 11:22Speaker 8: So this isn't the category of grits.
- 11:28Speaker 2: So with sugar or with butter, or however you take them.
- 11:34Speaker 7: I hate I don't like sugar butter.
- 11:37Speaker 8: But if I were, if you were to have some grits,
- 11:40Speaker 8: how would you want to prepare with sugar or.
- 11:42Speaker 13: Butter or salt or I was about to write a
- 11:45Speaker 13: whole paragraph and I prefer not, but okay.
- 11:54Speaker 7: I prefer how you don't.
- 11:57Speaker 3: I prefer not.
- 11:58Speaker 8: But if I had to and like sugar, and all right,
- 12:02Speaker 8: here we got next. It's the texture I loves every
- 12:08Speaker 8: Saturday morning for breakfast.
- 12:11Speaker 7: Okay, here we go.
- 12:13Speaker 1: Yacht or private jets.
- 12:17Speaker 2: Everybody's like jan and that's an.
- 12:19Speaker 3: Easy one for me. I hate flying catch on.
- 12:24Speaker 1: You will you will?
- 12:27Speaker 5: Yeah?

- 12:42Speaker 8: Exactly me know, I'm a yacht girl on the boom
- 12:46Speaker 8: anywhere on the jets.

- 13:24Speaker 3: you would choose live d J.
- 13:27Speaker 12: Why.
- 13:28Speaker 1: I don't really why.
- 13:30Speaker 10: I think, yeah, amazing, no shade to DJs, but it's
- 13:37Speaker 10: just something about.
- 13:40Speaker 8: You can can't feel it for sure, but feel for
- 13:44Speaker 8: a variety.
- 13:45Speaker 2: I enjoyed J.
- 13:47Speaker 1: I love about DJ, but live band definitely.
- 13:49Speaker 7: Takes every time.
- 13:51Speaker 8: Yeah, yeah, okay, okay, we're going into We're going into

- 15:04Speaker 3: One more after that? Okay, because I thought of it.
- 15:06Speaker 11: It makes me think of definitely coke for head to
- 15:10Speaker 11: grow soda misconceptions talking about.
- 15:17Speaker 12: Neither, but I'll take the ca.
- 15:20Speaker 3: Okay, one more tattoos are oh yeah, we'd about that one.
- 15:24Speaker 5: Tattoos are piercing.
- 15:26Speaker 15: Like wow, this or that tat tat chat piercing.
- 15:40Speaker 7: I love thirteen tattoos.
- 15:42Speaker 3: You have thirty yours a beautiful.
- 15:46Speaker 6: Cheeks peas.
- 15:47Speaker 8: Yes.
- 15:49Speaker 10: I think I like about piercings though, is that they're
- 15:52Speaker 10: not forever.
- 15:53Speaker 6: You can a period of like being completely pierced.
- 15:56Speaker 8: But then the tattoos definitely definitely getting more tax Where
- 16:01Speaker 8: do you want yours?
- 16:03Speaker 7: I mean I'm probably gonna finish my hand, my arm.
- 16:06Speaker 12: Okay, and good tattoos?
- 16:08Speaker 8: Yeah, I mean, I mean I have so many on
- 16:10Speaker 8: my back and you know I have them everywhere.
- 16:13Speaker 3: Now do y'all have like one tattoo artist that does
- 16:15Speaker 3: all of it?
- 16:16Speaker 8: Or do you kind of like, well, I have a
- 16:18Speaker 8: couple a couple of them that I've gotten just like
- 16:20Speaker 8: at tattoo shops, Like the first one I got with
- 16:23Speaker 8: my mom, the second one I was in Bermuda for
- 16:25Speaker 8: Christmas and I got the one on my back, and
- 16:28Speaker 8: then all the other ones have been like this one,
- 16:30Speaker 8: the one like here here, here has all been the
- 16:32Speaker 8: same person. And then I have like the same person
- 16:34Speaker 8: that did my hand, and then a couple of other ones.
- 16:37Speaker 7: Do you have any that you regret? I don't regret
- 16:39Speaker 7: any of my tattoos.
- 16:40Speaker 3: Yeah, she said, I like, she goes, I don't do not.
- 16:44Speaker 7: I never will.
- 16:45Speaker 2: I pay my tattoo said is it attached to someone?
- 16:50Speaker 3: Oh yeah, oh you got someone's name my ex husband.
- 16:53Speaker 10: We have like infinity And of course it was not
- 16:57Speaker 10: forever it's at but at least you can, Okay, Have
- 17:01Speaker 10: you regretted any bro?
- 17:03Speaker 13: Definitely, I got some some stupid placements and just you know,
- 17:09Speaker 13: being young.
- 17:10Speaker 12: But at the same time, I also had.
- 17:12Speaker 13: A different perspective about about and my perspective was like,
- 17:16Speaker 13: get a tattoo in every place that I travel, so
- 17:19Speaker 13: I would find places. But then as I, of course
- 17:23Speaker 13: started to mature, I started to see like technique and
- 17:28Speaker 13: lines and you know, different just different intricacies about you
- 17:33Speaker 13: know what I'm saying, But I got right here it
- 17:35Speaker 13: says music lover.
- 17:36Speaker 12: Why would I Why did I need to do that?
- 17:38Speaker 12: Why did I need to tell myself that I'm in cursive?
- 17:43Speaker 12: In cursive backed by red?
- 17:47Speaker 7: Like, Nah, that's hilarious.
- 17:49Speaker 3: So brow, thank you for.
- 17:54Speaker 12: Thank you guys for having me. This is James.
- 17:59Speaker 13: Make sure you guys loop to cop Energy Center to
- 18:01Speaker 13: check out myself October, London and Tamar Braxton on tour
- 18:05Speaker 13: in Atlanta.
- 18:06Speaker 12: Pull up on me.
- 18:09Speaker 15: Yeah, hi, okay.
- 18:15Speaker 8: So if you could describe your experience being born to
- 18:18Speaker 8: the game in three words, what would that be?
- 18:21Speaker 3: And Victoria will start with you first.
- 18:24Speaker 8: My three words would be exciting because it's opened up
- 18:27Speaker 8: a lot of like opportunities and avenues to like experience
- 18:30Speaker 8: like All Star games, being court side and you know,
- 18:33Speaker 8: just a lot of things that other people didn't have
- 18:35Speaker 8: really the opportunity to do, but like never took it
- 18:38Speaker 8: for granted, So that I mean, it was just really fun.
- 18:41Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 18:42Speaker 7: I would say commitment as well, because we.
- 18:44Speaker 8: Had to show up and be one hundred percent and
- 18:46Speaker 8: everything regardless if it was like school, family sports, it
- 18:50Speaker 8: was like you're all in or like you're not there
- 18:52Speaker 8: at all. And I would say grounded, okay, because you know,
- 18:57Speaker 8: I never took anything for granted and I wasn't like
- 19:01Speaker 8: handed everything, Like I was taught the value of work,
- 19:03Speaker 8: and which is great because I never you know, made
- 19:07Speaker 8: like you know, materialistic things like you know, a.
- 19:10Speaker 7: Big part of my life.
- 19:11Speaker 8: Yeah, so it definitely kept me grounded just the way
- 19:14Speaker 8: that like, you know, I was brought up and my
- 19:15Speaker 8: parents instilled like different values into me.
- 19:18Speaker 3: Did you travel with with your dad?
- 19:20Speaker 8: I did anywhere, So that part of it, I would
- 19:22Speaker 8: assume is is a commitment to just even staying.
- 19:25Speaker 3: Together as a family.
- 19:26Speaker 8: It was always just the four of us. And then
- 19:29Speaker 8: of course we would like you know, do vacations or
- 19:31Speaker 8: like we would go visit people, but it was like
- 19:33Speaker 8: always me, my mom, my dad, and my brother.
- 19:36Speaker 3: Okay, And how was that experience for it?
- 19:37Speaker 6: It was great.
- 19:38Speaker 8: I mean we were really close because we really only
- 19:40Speaker 8: had each other yea, like at the end of the
- 19:42Speaker 8: day or our day to day lives, it was just us.
- 19:45Speaker 8: So I mean it made us really close. We still
- 19:47Speaker 8: you know, we're all still close. We all when we're
- 19:49Speaker 8: all in the same town. We always get dinner and so,
- 19:52Speaker 8: I mean it just fostered a really great, you know relationship,
- 19:54Speaker 8: just being you know, together.
- 19:56Speaker 9: Together all the time. What was the most exciting part
- 20:00Speaker 9: about you said? You mentioned All Star.
- 20:02Speaker 8: Well, as a kid, I loved like I was such
- 20:05Speaker 8: a daddy's girl, Like I was working out with him
- 20:10Speaker 8: as like a toddler.
- 20:11Speaker 7: I was doing sit ups and crunches.
- 20:13Speaker 8: I was learning how to do the acupuncture with the
- 20:15Speaker 8: acupuncturess who came over and just like the masseuse, and
- 20:20Speaker 8: I was like trying to learn and I was, you know, like, oh,
- 20:22Speaker 8: I want to do it too, like this is so
- 20:25Speaker 8: it was. I just had the best time, like I
- 20:26Speaker 8: loved like I thought I was one of the boys.
- 20:29Speaker 8: I thought I was one of the boys. And it
- 20:31Speaker 8: was just so much fun. Like I loved, like I
- 20:33Speaker 8: had a great time.
- 20:34Speaker 1: Did you Were you a.
- 20:35Speaker 3: Kid who went to practice with your dad.
- 20:38Speaker 8: I did, but I didn't want I didn't want to
- 20:40Speaker 8: touch him or look at him after. But Curtis Martin,
- 20:43Speaker 8: that was the love of my life. Was the love
- 20:45Speaker 8: of my life.
- 20:46Speaker 7: As if you had any crushes, it was, yes, I
- 20:50Speaker 7: was like I think two years old.
- 20:51Speaker 8: And I said, I was going to marry Curtis Martin,
- 20:54Speaker 8: and it was just what it was. And I said, like,
- 20:57Speaker 8: I would not hugger kiss my dad, and he's like,
- 20:59Speaker 8: oh know why.
- 21:00Speaker 7: But as soon as Curtis.
- 21:03Speaker 8: Told me, I would kiss his picture every morning on
- 21:08Speaker 8: the calendar.
- 21:09Speaker 7: So what was it? You can't you don't remember, I
- 21:11Speaker 7: don't remember. He's like, I do not know. Every morning
- 21:16Speaker 7: I kissed him.
- 21:17Speaker 8: And then one day my dad was like, you know,
- 21:20Speaker 8: you don't love Curtis. You love me, You just like Curtis.
- 21:22Speaker 8: So of course he like said that, and then I
- 21:24Speaker 8: told my mom.
- 21:25Speaker 7: I was like, you know, mom, I guess I really
- 21:27Speaker 7: don't love Curtis. I really loved daddy.
- 21:29Speaker 8: And she's like, who told you that, Daddy?
- 21:33Speaker 1: He had a reverse.
- 21:37Speaker 8: Reversed because I thought that was gonna be my husband.
- 21:42Speaker 1: My stories, Yeah, I can see.
- 21:45Speaker 8: I thought I was gonna make I think we all
- 21:47Speaker 8: thought we were all married. Yeah, because it's the bad
- 21:51Speaker 8: boy Corn.
- 21:54Speaker 1: We all loved him.
- 21:55Speaker 7: It's everybody loved him.
- 21:58Speaker 3: What about you know, how would you what three words.
- 22:00Speaker 6: Would you choose?
- 22:02Speaker 10: Let's see, my first word would probably be bittersweet because
- 22:06Speaker 10: I wasn't one of the kids that would like travel Okay,
- 22:09Speaker 10: my dad. Okay, So I only was able to see
- 22:13Speaker 10: my father when he wasn't on the court, you know,
- 22:17Speaker 10: like so, but I mean the times that I did
- 22:20Speaker 10: get to see him, like when you would come to
- 22:22Speaker 10: d C and play. At the time they were the Bullets,
- 22:24Speaker 10: now they're the Wizards. You know, we would get tickets
- 22:27Speaker 10: from him and we would go and have like a
- 22:30Speaker 10: whole little you know, a little family moment or whatever.
- 22:34Speaker 10: But you know, just him like missing certain things, you know,
- 22:37Speaker 10: because of him playing.
- 22:39Speaker 6: It was it was difficult.
- 22:40Speaker 8: I feel like it's more difficult for basketball because basketball
- 22:43Speaker 8: is year round. Like I don't think you guys ever
- 22:45Speaker 8: have a break and which always.
- 22:48Speaker 9: Because even for football, let's say they have an away game,
- 22:52Speaker 9: they leave just the day before and then they come
- 22:53Speaker 9: right back. For basketball, they could be gone for eight
- 22:57Speaker 9: days at a time.
- 22:58Speaker 7: They literally come right back after that game pretty much.
- 23:00Speaker 3: Yeah, but basketball it's not like that. So for you,
- 23:03Speaker 3: you know, even if you were to have traveled with
- 23:06Speaker 3: him or moved with him, he was still see him, Like, yeah,
- 23:09Speaker 3: he would still be gone.
- 23:10Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 23:11Speaker 10: And then my father was playing for Utah, yeah, and
- 23:14Speaker 10: I'm in d C.
- 23:15Speaker 6: So you know, it's like it's next door across. Well,
- 23:22Speaker 6: he did drive there a few times.
- 23:24Speaker 1: Three days.
- 23:26Speaker 10: Took him like three days to drive from Utah to
- 23:29Speaker 10: DC and Maryland.
- 23:30Speaker 3: Wow, okay, but you know, I mean it's.
- 23:33Speaker 6: Part of it.
- 23:34Speaker 3: Yeah, that's part of the part of it. Yeah.
- 23:37Speaker 10: My second word would be, I guess inspiring. Like you know,
- 23:42Speaker 10: you as a kid, you see like celebrities and athletes
- 23:47Speaker 10: on TV and stuff.
- 23:49Speaker 6: Yeah, and you're.
- 23:49Speaker 10: Kind of like, it seems like it's unattainable. But when
- 23:53Speaker 10: it's your father that's doing it, it's like, oh, well,
- 23:56Speaker 10: if he can do things.
- 23:59Speaker 8: But then super rare, like you know, just professional athletes
- 24:03Speaker 8: in general.
- 24:04Speaker 10: Very with basketball, Like compared to football, a football team.
- 24:09Speaker 6: Will have like seventy US you have so many.
- 24:11Speaker 10: You know, but basketball teams are much much smaller, like,
- 24:15Speaker 10: so to make it on that team and then like
- 24:17Speaker 10: have a there's not a long career because your.
- 24:20Speaker 6: Dad played for it's like fourteen years.
- 24:22Speaker 10: Yeah, so from the time that I was three to
- 24:26Speaker 10: the time that I was eighteen, he was playing either
- 24:30Speaker 10: in the NBA or overseas. So yeah, but he played
- 24:35Speaker 10: in Italy and Greece.
- 24:37Speaker 3: Were to visit.
- 24:41Speaker 6: I did not get to go. I did not get
- 24:43Speaker 6: to go.
- 24:44Speaker 10: But yeah, I mean, I mean it's it's it's inspiring.
- 24:49Speaker 10: You know, it didn't necessarily inspire me to do something
- 24:52Speaker 10: with sports, but it definitely like let me know that
- 24:56Speaker 10: I can pretty much do.
- 24:57Speaker 6: Anything I want to do whatever. Yeah, in the work exactly.
- 25:00Speaker 8: My dad was you know, not drafted, he was a
- 25:03Speaker 8: free agent, okay, and then he's you know, the best
- 25:05Speaker 8: safety and history. So I mean it's really you know
- 25:08Speaker 8: about putting in, like you don't have to be born
- 25:10Speaker 8: the best, and you know it's I love that hold
- 25:14Speaker 8: on paper every everything where that wherein we love that
- 25:20Speaker 8: we're gonna flag.
- 25:21Speaker 1: Yes, you don't have to be born the best.
- 25:23Speaker 8: You don't have to be born the best, but you
- 25:25Speaker 8: can you know, become the best. Hard work and I
- 25:29Speaker 8: mean like putting the work in and you know, eat, sleep, breathing,
- 25:34Speaker 8: And that's another thing about the commitment, like if you
- 25:36Speaker 8: really want something, you have to go all in.
- 25:38Speaker 9: Okay, So he's better sweet, inspiring. What is your your
- 25:42Speaker 9: third word?
- 25:43Speaker 12: Word?
- 25:44Speaker 8: Word?
- 25:47Speaker 7: It took me a minute to think about.
- 25:50Speaker 10: Because we don't really think about it your life exactly.
- 25:56Speaker 6: I don't know.
- 25:57Speaker 10: I would say unbelievable because when I was a kid
- 26:00Speaker 10: Nobody believed that Thorough Bailey was my father.
- 26:03Speaker 6: It was like I was making it up, like it's
- 26:05Speaker 6: your dad, and.
- 26:06Speaker 3: I don't know why because the hype girl.
- 26:09Speaker 6: And I had his whole face.
- 26:14Speaker 10: Yes, out of all sticks, of all sticks, of the
- 26:19Speaker 10: kids that he has, I look like him the most,
- 26:22Speaker 10: even more than the boys do. But yeah, nobody believed
- 26:26Speaker 10: me until I had a field trip when I was
- 26:29Speaker 10: in the fifth grade. We went to this place called
- 26:30Speaker 10: Camp Schmidt and you like spend the night and all that,
- 26:33Speaker 10: and it just so happened that it was outside of
- 26:35Speaker 10: the season and my father was able to come. And
- 26:38Speaker 10: when he walked into that elementary school and we walked
- 26:42Speaker 10: down the hall, everybody's mouth was just dropped. And I'm
- 26:46Speaker 10: just like I told a moment because I'm like walking
- 26:51Speaker 10: in down the hall like I told you.
- 26:56Speaker 8: This man, Like, where'd you'll think I got?
- 27:00Speaker 5: For no reason, no reason.
- 27:02Speaker 10: It was nobody believed me. Like I came to school
- 27:04Speaker 10: one day with a new pair rebox on. Everybody was
- 27:09Speaker 10: clown to me, Oh, you got some fake rebox Yeah fake,
- 27:12Speaker 10: And I'm like, no, I don't, like these are not
- 27:14Speaker 10: on the market.
- 27:15Speaker 6: Yet nobody believed me.
- 27:18Speaker 7: Nobody believe me.
- 27:20Speaker 10: And then like a month later the pumps came out
- 27:23Speaker 10: and everybody was like, you had those.
- 27:25Speaker 6: I was like, no, I don't want.
- 27:27Speaker 5: To hear it. They were fake.
- 27:28Speaker 7: I don't hear it.
- 27:31Speaker 6: You know.
- 27:32Speaker 4: It was so crazy though, So we talked about the
- 27:36Speaker 4: exciting parts and the challenging parts. I mean, I think
- 27:39Speaker 4: the through line of everyone has been the traveling and
- 27:43Speaker 4: the parents being away. So let's talk about how it
- 27:48Speaker 4: shaped your relationships with your dad's, your friendships, your romantic relationships.
- 27:53Speaker 4: So you had the challenges of them being gone, you
- 27:56Speaker 4: guys picking up, moving into other places. What kind of
- 28:00Speaker 4: impact did that make on you guys's your lives?
- 28:04Speaker 10: I mean, unfortunately, I would say because of my father's profession,
- 28:09Speaker 10: we're not as close as I you know, as he
- 28:12Speaker 10: was like to yeah, and then too like you know,
- 28:15Speaker 10: life starts to happen, and he got married, and you know,
- 28:19Speaker 10: they kind of he has like like two different families
- 28:22Speaker 10: so to speak, because my mom and dad were never married.
- 28:26Speaker 10: So I think the absence of him like shaped me
- 28:31Speaker 10: to be such a hardcore parent, like.
- 28:34Speaker 6: I'm at everything. It killed me.
- 28:37Speaker 10: Yesterday my son actually had a basketball game, but I
- 28:40Speaker 10: was here, so my oldest daughter like face timed me
- 28:44Speaker 10: and I literally like watched his game on the phone,
- 28:47Speaker 10: Like I'm just it's I just want to be like
- 28:50Speaker 10: the exact opposite, like no shade to my father, you know,
- 28:53Speaker 10: because that was his career, but you know, it just
- 28:57Speaker 10: I think it just shaped me to always like really
- 28:59Speaker 10: want to be there, you know what I mean for
- 29:01Speaker 10: my friends, and I'm like the go to person anytime
- 29:04Speaker 10: somebody needs something and they you know, ask me. I
- 29:07Speaker 10: will like change everything in my schedule to make sure
- 29:10Speaker 10: it happens or whatever. It's just because you know, I
- 29:11Speaker 10: don't like to not be there.
- 29:13Speaker 3: So so family is important to you.
- 29:16Speaker 8: Relationships are important because your dad wasn't able to be
- 29:20Speaker 8: as present.
- 29:21Speaker 7: As you would like.
- 29:23Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, which is a good thing because your children
- 29:27Speaker 4: don't know that their mother is going to.
- 29:30Speaker 6: Be there always.
- 29:33Speaker 9: So in a way, it's it's a blessing in disguise.
- 29:35Speaker 9: This was your journey because you're able to pour back
- 29:38Speaker 9: into your child.
- 29:41Speaker 7: And it's supposed to better than our parents.
- 29:42Speaker 9: And absolutely absolutely so you say that you don't have
- 29:47Speaker 9: the strongest relationship that you that you would want with
- 29:50Speaker 9: your father, is that something that you would want to
- 29:52Speaker 9: try and pursue maybe.
- 29:55Speaker 3: Or because it's never really to.
- 30:00Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 30:00Speaker 10: He's just so busy, like now commentating with the Jazz.
- 30:03Speaker 10: It's literally like the same thing, but just a different career,
- 30:07Speaker 10: you know what I mean, because he also travels with
- 30:08Speaker 10: the team too.
- 30:09Speaker 3: So yeah, I mean, you know, I just kind of
- 30:12Speaker 3: catch them when I can.
- 30:14Speaker 9: I mean, because they The one thing about our dads,
- 30:17Speaker 9: they started this career when they were how old three
- 30:22Speaker 9: and they really don't know how to let it go.
- 30:26Speaker 9: So even when they're done playing, they either go into commentating, coaching,
- 30:31Speaker 9: and then after that it's you know, it doesn't ever
- 30:34Speaker 9: really end.
- 30:34Speaker 3: So they're always doing something.
- 30:37Speaker 8: So it is hard to just catch them when they're
- 30:40Speaker 8: they're free, because when are they ever really free?
- 30:43Speaker 1: You know?
- 30:44Speaker 8: So that's that's understandable because it's hard for them to.
- 30:47Speaker 7: Really let it go because what else do you do?
- 30:50Speaker 3: What else do you do with your life?
- 30:51Speaker 8: They don't even know themselves outside of what they've been
- 30:55Speaker 8: doing their entire lives, so.
- 30:57Speaker 7: They focused on that for.
- 30:58Speaker 8: The whole first, and then yeah, and then it's like
- 31:01Speaker 8: yeah and only whatever sport it is, Yeah, you've done
- 31:04Speaker 8: and get out. It's like wait a minute, Yeah, Yeah,
- 31:10Speaker 8: the families do take a hit because even when you know,
- 31:14Speaker 8: and whether or not you're in the home with him
- 31:16Speaker 8: or not, you're still going to take a hit because
- 31:19Speaker 8: their careers never stopped really, yeah, you know, and it's
- 31:23Speaker 8: almost ever the same as it was before.
- 31:25Speaker 7: Yeah, so it's like there's a transition from there to here.
- 31:30Speaker 7: It's like it's different. It's very different.
- 31:32Speaker 9: And I remember Dwayne Wade talked about when he was retiring,
- 31:35Speaker 9: he had to go into therapy because he was still
- 31:38Speaker 9: trying to figure out who he was even as a husband,
- 31:41Speaker 9: as a father, outside of.
- 31:43Speaker 7: Being the game.
- 31:44Speaker 3: Yeah, he didn't even know who he was.
- 31:46Speaker 8: And so you know, I try to give grace, you know,
- 31:49Speaker 8: to our dads because they honestly are just doing the
- 31:52Speaker 8: best they.
- 31:52Speaker 3: Can because they they really don't know any other life.
- 31:58Speaker 10: Becaus not like anybody gave them a blueprint.
- 32:02Speaker 7: And they all they were kids themselves, yeah, I mean
- 32:04Speaker 7: at the time.
- 32:05Speaker 8: Yeah, and they worked so hard to get there, get
- 32:07Speaker 8: to the odds, which is so so you.
- 32:09Speaker 1: It would be hard.
- 32:10Speaker 16: Yeah, So what about you, Victoria, I would definitely say
- 32:14Speaker 16: like as far as you know, relationship wise, like my dad,
- 32:17Speaker 16: you know, he was here sometimes he would you know, travel,
- 32:21Speaker 16: Like we wouldn't always travel, especially when my brother was born.
- 32:23Speaker 8: And he was a lot younger, but like we would
- 32:26Speaker 8: always be watching the games and of course, like you said,
- 32:28Speaker 8: like he'd be right back.
- 32:29Speaker 7: You know Monday.
- 32:30Speaker 8: Yeah, you know, so like it would just really be
- 32:32Speaker 8: he would be gone like Saturday and then but he'd
- 32:35Speaker 8: be back Monday or like late night Sunday. So our
- 32:38Speaker 8: relationship has always been like super close as far as
- 32:41Speaker 8: like friendships and stuff like, there was definitely people who
- 32:44Speaker 8: like wanted to be my friend, to like see my
- 32:47Speaker 8: house or to like, you know, this one girl, her
- 32:50Speaker 8: dad was an athlete too, but she was just so
- 32:53Speaker 8: curious about you know, coming to my house sleeping over.
- 32:56Speaker 8: And then I remember like the next day or like
- 32:58Speaker 8: the week coming back to school, like she didn't we didn't, like,
- 33:00Speaker 8: she didn't speak to me, like yeah she came.
- 33:05Speaker 7: I don't know. I was in fourth.
- 33:06Speaker 8: Grade and my mom actually came to the school to
- 33:09Speaker 8: like pick you know me up or whatever, and she
- 33:11Speaker 8: saw the girl and she was like, hey, like what's
- 33:14Speaker 8: going on, Like you just spent all weekend like with us,
- 33:17Speaker 8: like Victoria saying, right, Exa, and you know, we did
- 33:21Speaker 8: all these activities and you know, you're not talking to her,
- 33:23Speaker 8: and of course, like you know, she played like the
- 33:25Speaker 8: victim card and she cried and it was about what
- 33:28Speaker 8: was she crying for that my mom was like trying
- 33:35Speaker 8: to like attack her something. My mom was very calm
- 33:37Speaker 8: about and she's like not like that at all, but
- 33:39Speaker 8: she was like you literally were just at her house
- 33:41Speaker 8: all weekend, like.
- 33:41Speaker 6: What's going on wrong?
- 33:43Speaker 8: Yeah, because of course I was upset. I was like,
- 33:45Speaker 8: oh my god, like she just like hung out with
- 33:47Speaker 8: me and then she.
- 33:48Speaker 7: Again just to see what was going on. I mean,
- 33:51Speaker 7: her dad played I don't.
- 33:52Speaker 8: Know, I don't remember if it was hockey or baseball
- 33:54Speaker 8: or something like that, because before all of my friends
- 33:57Speaker 8: were like athletes.
- 33:58Speaker 7: Kids, okay, the people that I'm knew in.
- 34:01Speaker 8: School and like I really didn't disclose, like I still,
- 34:03Speaker 8: I mean, I really don't say anything unless.
- 34:04Speaker 7: People already know or they ask.
- 34:07Speaker 8: Yeah, So I mean it was just like weird for me,
- 34:10Speaker 8: like you know, and like as I got older, people would.
- 34:12Speaker 7: Steal my clothes or steal some stuff because it'd be like, oh, well,
- 34:15Speaker 7: your parents can just like look that's my person exactly.
- 34:18Speaker 5: That's probably like.
- 34:19Speaker 6: What it was.
- 34:19Speaker 7: They can just buy a new one.
- 34:21Speaker 8: So and that's probably what like the biggest thing, but well.
- 34:25Speaker 7: Clothes or like other things that I've had.
- 34:27Speaker 3: It's just this expectation that oh, you got it.
- 34:30Speaker 7: Oh yeah, so you don't even have to it, like
- 34:32Speaker 7: you don't miss it.
- 34:33Speaker 3: You won't miss it if things are.
- 34:34Speaker 8: Gone or if you are missing it, like there you
- 34:36Speaker 8: can get it. But there's some things that hey, like
- 34:39Speaker 8: I said, like I was never the spoil like I
- 34:41Speaker 8: never had was dripped out and designer like they like
- 34:44Speaker 8: I had a little like chur list, like we had
- 34:47Speaker 8: a check book, like it was like a whole like
- 34:49Speaker 8: yeah we yes. So like anytime like if I like,
- 34:51Speaker 8: did you know sweep launch or whatever, my mom would
- 34:53Speaker 8: like write in a little check book and you know
- 34:55Speaker 8: I could either save it or say that I want to,
- 34:57Speaker 8: you know, spend it, right because I wasn't very materialistic
- 35:05Speaker 8: at all, Like I don't care like I always did
- 35:07Speaker 8: like the sales stuff. So you know, it just was
- 35:10Speaker 8: you know, a lot of fun and it was just
- 35:12Speaker 8: good being grounded and not having to worry about that.
- 35:16Speaker 8: So I've just been very selective with friends and that's
- 35:18Speaker 8: what I haven't so being born to the game would
- 35:21Speaker 8: you say that you've had to learn how to create
- 35:25Speaker 8: boundaries with people or you've you've had to I guess.
- 35:30Speaker 9: Question people's intentions around you. I'm gonna ask you the
- 35:34Speaker 9: same things to know because I know for me as well,
- 35:38Speaker 9: like I've I've had I've gotten burned.
- 35:41Speaker 7: A couple of times with that, so I definitely do.
- 35:45Speaker 8: And then that's like i'd never disclose, like unless people
- 35:48Speaker 8: like at work, people will know, and then like they'll like,
- 35:50Speaker 8: you know, of course tell you don't want people to
- 35:53Speaker 8: look at you, treat you differently exactly who they know
- 35:57Speaker 8: that your dad is exactly okay, So just I'm like,
- 35:59Speaker 8: you know, and then if they know they know, like
- 36:01Speaker 8: sometimes I might have like my Victor Green Foundation cup
- 36:04Speaker 8: and then they're like, oh my god, your dad's Victor
- 36:05Speaker 8: Green or like oh like is that a Jets you know,
- 36:08Speaker 8: got a Jets jersey's wearing or whatever? So then like
- 36:11Speaker 8: you know, then I can you know, disclose or whatever?
- 36:14Speaker 8: But yeah, like I never, that's never like my leading thing.
- 36:17Speaker 7: If nobody asked, I never, I don't say anything.
- 36:20Speaker 9: Okay, So I just like, oh, yeah, like you know, okay,
- 36:23Speaker 9: what about you?
- 36:24Speaker 6: You know?
- 36:26Speaker 10: Everybody else always discloses.
- 36:30Speaker 3: They like, they're like, you see the one got it
- 36:33Speaker 3: walking down?
- 36:34Speaker 1: You must be.
- 36:36Speaker 10: I'll go somewhere with somebody like my family or a
- 36:40Speaker 10: friend or something. And if it's something like basketball related, yeah,
- 36:44Speaker 10: anytime we go, I'm like, hi, how are you? And
- 36:47Speaker 10: then whoever I'm with, it's like, yo, that's their Bailey's daughter.
- 36:50Speaker 7: I'm like, like, I didn't say.
- 36:54Speaker 2: Anything about that, or let me tell my own story play.
- 36:58Speaker 3: So do you feel like you have to keep up?
- 37:00Speaker 6: I'm just that way anyway. I just I don't know.
- 37:03Speaker 10: I've always kept a very small circle, you know, because
- 37:08Speaker 10: I don't want.
- 37:09Speaker 7: Any opportunity friends.
- 37:10Speaker 10: Over Like, yeah, the quality is definitely everything for me.
- 37:14Speaker 10: I don't I don't want any opportunists I've had, Like
- 37:18Speaker 10: you know, people try to befriend me, like on social
- 37:20Speaker 10: media or me because.
- 37:25Speaker 3: Yeah, we're going to get into the dating. Are you
- 37:28Speaker 3: single in a relationship?
- 37:29Speaker 5: Ladies?
- 37:30Speaker 3: What's the relationship.
- 37:33Speaker 6: And relationship.
- 37:35Speaker 3: To shoot this episode?
- 37:38Speaker 8: Because both of you are taken, so how long have
- 37:42Speaker 8: you been together?
- 37:42Speaker 3: What were the green flags?
- 37:45Speaker 6: And partner? Okay, transparent?
- 37:50Speaker 7: What will you apply transparent?
- 37:54Speaker 4: So let's talk about the difference between transparency and honesty.
- 37:58Speaker 1: Yes, please do.
- 38:00Speaker 10: People don't understand what is Honesty is I'm going to
- 38:06Speaker 10: a dinner after work. Transparency is I'm going to a
- 38:10Speaker 10: dinner after work with this person is going to be there.
- 38:14Speaker 7: That person is.
- 38:15Speaker 6: Going to be there, you know what I mean?
- 38:17Speaker 10: Yeah, like I'll give you a call when we leave.
- 38:20Speaker 10: It's from the time of that time and allowing you
- 38:23Speaker 10: to ask questions and not feel like they're being attacked
- 38:27Speaker 10: or you.
- 38:27Speaker 7: Know what I'm saying or something like that.
- 38:30Speaker 8: And do both of your partners make you feel safe
- 38:32Speaker 8: in that regard?
- 38:34Speaker 10: Yeah, I would honestly say that the man that I'm
- 38:38Speaker 10: with is like the first grown man.
- 38:42Speaker 6: You know what I mean?
- 38:43Speaker 7: Like grown, grown, grown?
- 38:47Speaker 3: What do they say?
- 38:48Speaker 7: She don't want to puppy?
- 38:54Speaker 1: Big guy? Big guy?
- 38:57Speaker 3: Do you see yourself marrying him? Is that the real?
- 39:00Speaker 12: Okay?
- 39:00Speaker 6: I mean, but I'm not I'm not pushing you know.
- 39:03Speaker 6: When it's right, it's right. Hopefully it's right soon because
- 39:06Speaker 6: I'm not a spring chicken. But okay, yeah.
- 39:10Speaker 3: All day.
- 39:10Speaker 2: What do you think about you coming here and sharing
- 39:13Speaker 2: our story?
- 39:13Speaker 6: He loved it. He loved it. He praises me like
- 39:16Speaker 6: anything that I want to do.
- 39:18Speaker 8: He's all for, all for it good.
- 39:21Speaker 1: We love that.
- 39:21Speaker 3: How long have you guys been together.
- 39:23Speaker 6: We've been together a little over two years.
- 39:24Speaker 8: Okay, okay, okay, so maybe we might be we might
- 39:28Speaker 8: we might be in on the knee, you know, ring
- 39:32Speaker 8: shopping maybe. Okay, we're going to manifest, trying to ask
- 39:37Speaker 8: you if if the children have met him and they
- 39:39Speaker 8: love him, it's a good step for potential step dad.
- 39:43Speaker 6: My kids already call him dad.
- 39:47Speaker 4: Yeah, we're going to manifest, yes, because we're advocates of
- 39:51Speaker 4: saying what we want here. So if you that's what
- 39:53Speaker 4: you want, if you want to start a family with.
- 39:54Speaker 8: This person, and we're saying it out loud, and you're
- 39:57Speaker 8: glowing when you when you yes.
- 40:01Speaker 6: Before I came here, I was like, maybe I'm so nervous.
- 40:04Speaker 6: It's like, you don't have a reason to be nervous.
- 40:06Speaker 6: Just do you? You got this? Yeah? Okay, it's amazing.
- 40:14Speaker 3: Okay, I'm excited for you.
- 40:17Speaker 6: Thank you.
- 40:19Speaker 3: A happy ending. Yes, yes, yes, what about you?
- 40:22Speaker 8: We were best friends in high school? Okay, yeah, so
- 40:26Speaker 8: we got together a little bit. I think it might
- 40:29Speaker 8: have been my sophomore year of college.
- 40:32Speaker 7: So we've been you know, dating since then.
- 40:34Speaker 3: So how long has that been?
- 40:39Speaker 1: You don't have to tell your age.
- 40:42Speaker 7: I'm trying to think like five years.
- 40:45Speaker 5: Husband.
- 40:46Speaker 1: Maybe do your dad's like that? That's my question, but
- 40:50Speaker 1: to both of you.
- 40:51Speaker 10: So, the funny thing about my man is we had
- 40:54Speaker 10: to do research when we first started dating each other
- 40:57Speaker 10: because his last name is Bailey.
- 40:59Speaker 1: Stop but we are not related.
- 41:04Speaker 8: Wait, so what did you do? Okay, I'm mad, nos
- 41:07Speaker 8: I'm too nosy, just say we just.
- 41:09Speaker 10: Had to ask, like you know, older people like I
- 41:13Speaker 10: need you to let me know, Auntie, this person is
- 41:16Speaker 10: any relation.
- 41:21Speaker 5: There's a movie about so you.
- 41:22Speaker 1: Won't have to change your name.
- 41:24Speaker 6: Well I do because I was married.
- 41:26Speaker 2: But okay, So but you're going to go back to Bailey.
- 41:29Speaker 1: Oh well, how do you feel about that?
- 41:31Speaker 7: Going back?
- 41:32Speaker 10: I mean I really didn't even think about it until
- 41:35Speaker 10: my aunt said something about it.
- 41:36Speaker 6: But I mean, I don't know. I'll just be excited
- 41:39Speaker 6: to be his wife.
- 41:40Speaker 3: Oh I don't even care about I love that.
- 41:42Speaker 6: I mean I'm already a Bailey.
- 41:44Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, you know, yeah, I love that man.
- 41:50Speaker 8: Bailey. Okay, So, Victoria, you said that you see yourself marrying.
- 41:56Speaker 3: Does your dad like him?
- 41:57Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 41:58Speaker 3: Okay, that's a soda approved.
- 42:00Speaker 8: Okay, Okay, perfect mom approofs, brother approoves, everybody approves. Okay, yeah,
- 42:06Speaker 8: because that family piece is really the families don't get a.
- 42:10Speaker 7: Lot, especially my brother really got.
- 42:14Speaker 8: To get friend him on next.
- 42:19Speaker 9: Okay, so I want to get into what you girls
- 42:22Speaker 9: are doing now.
- 42:23Speaker 7: Yes, so totally.
- 42:25Speaker 8: Did your dad's careers inspire your current line of work,
- 42:29Speaker 8: your passions?
- 42:31Speaker 10: I would say my dad definitely inspired me to be
- 42:35Speaker 10: an entrepreneur, even though he you know, worked with the
- 42:38Speaker 10: team and everything. He has multiple businesses, so I'm actually
- 42:43Speaker 10: working on multiple businesses as well.
- 42:46Speaker 6: I have a South Caroline right now.
- 42:49Speaker 3: And look, we're gonna we're gonna shout out we have
- 42:53Speaker 3: it here with us.
- 42:55Speaker 7: We have not opened. We're going to open it.
- 42:58Speaker 1: Yes, open away from the mic.
- 43:01Speaker 6: So it doesn't it's all natural.
- 43:03Speaker 10: I just say, looking at the ingredients of a problem,
- 43:07Speaker 10: and you can't pronounce the name, you have no idea.
- 43:12Speaker 7: We have a body spread everything that's good.
- 43:15Speaker 6: So everything is flood.
- 43:18Speaker 3: I mean it may not and I got some lip gloss.
- 43:21Speaker 6: It may not taste good, but it's non toxic.
- 43:26Speaker 1: Right this, Yeah, it's called selfish. Tell us about selfish?
- 43:31Speaker 10: Like why my whole life I've just been so selfless
- 43:36Speaker 10: I've always been doing stuff for everybody else, and it's
- 43:40Speaker 10: nothing wrong with doing a little something for yourself, you know,
- 43:43Speaker 10: So I embrace the selfish part, you know, take.
- 43:47Speaker 8: Care of you, sorry, and begetically selfish, don't apologize. Clear
- 43:52Speaker 8: lot black girls and are clear gloss and a brown little.
- 43:59Speaker 10: Everything.
- 44:00Speaker 1: I love this one.
- 44:01Speaker 3: This is you.
- 44:05Speaker 1: I mean, she hooked us up.
- 44:07Speaker 7: Oh my goodness came.
- 44:12Speaker 8: We got body butter glasses, body butters, body scrubs, body salts.
- 44:20Speaker 3: Is there an Instagram handle that we can.
- 44:22Speaker 6: Show I do?
- 44:23Speaker 10: It's we are Selfish Brand and my website is Selfish Brand.
- 44:28Speaker 9: LLC dot com dot com. Selfish Selfish Brand l llc
- 44:33Speaker 9: dot com.
- 44:34Speaker 1: This is gonna be good.
- 44:34Speaker 2: You know when your armpits get dark?
- 44:36Speaker 10: Yep, I use that bar on my face everything because
- 44:42Speaker 10: it's like very mild.
- 44:44Speaker 6: There are no chemicals in it. Helpfully, you know, just
- 44:47Speaker 6: getting your stame right.
- 44:48Speaker 8: Well, guess what all this will be used to?
- 44:54Speaker 5: Thank you so much?
- 44:55Speaker 3: Yes, thank you for that. So you are a girl boss, a.
- 45:00Speaker 1: Mom amy, a mom boss.
- 45:03Speaker 3: Yes you're doing your thing.
- 45:05Speaker 4: Yeah, but then also you being you know, in your
- 45:09Speaker 4: own lane, and you said that you had to adjust,
- 45:12Speaker 4: you had to which which is what it takes to
- 45:14Speaker 4: be an entrepreneur because it literally.
- 45:16Speaker 7: Will your body back.
- 45:18Speaker 2: Is the craziest thing anybody could ever try to do.
- 45:22Speaker 10: And I don't want to work in nine to five
- 45:24Speaker 10: and then I ended up working twenty four seven.
- 45:26Speaker 3: Exactly right, your products being in yeah.
- 45:33Speaker 7: Yeah, where would you want everywhere? Everywherewhere?
- 45:37Speaker 8: It was at one place though, that's just like if
- 45:39Speaker 8: you could just go anywhere.
- 45:41Speaker 10: I don't know, maybe I honestly, I'd like to have
- 45:44Speaker 10: a selfish store.
- 45:45Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 45:46Speaker 10: I don't want to shut any brand or any company
- 45:50Speaker 10: with the current political climate, people being on one side
- 45:54Speaker 10: or the other.
- 45:55Speaker 3: Like, I want my own store from products. I love
- 45:58Speaker 3: that you can create my own lass.
- 46:00Speaker 6: That's right.
- 46:03Speaker 7: I like that.
- 46:03Speaker 1: I love it. I love that.
- 46:06Speaker 3: Good for you.
- 46:09Speaker 4: Congratulations seriously, seriously, it's it's no joke, Like it's not.
- 46:14Speaker 1: It's hard, yes, yeah, but it'll.
- 46:16Speaker 8: Be rewarding, absolutely absolutely, and we're gonna be you know,
- 46:19Speaker 8: our skin is gonna look, we're gonna be moist exactly right,
- 46:27Speaker 8: all right, Victorian, My.
- 46:29Speaker 7: Dad did not shape any well, it's like he.
- 46:35Speaker 1: Did nothing.
- 46:36Speaker 7: He actually does nothing.
- 46:37Speaker 8: But like I want to make an impact on the world.
- 46:40Speaker 8: Start like foundations and everything. But I'm a behavior analyst,
- 46:44Speaker 8: so I'm in a totally different field than sports. I
- 46:48Speaker 8: can work with sports, I can do sports behavior analysis,
- 46:53Speaker 8: but right now I'm working with individuals with autism and
- 46:56Speaker 8: different NEU diversion disabilities and using like principles of behavior
- 47:01Speaker 8: to like shape and teach and learn and you know,
- 47:04Speaker 8: figure out why you know behaviors happen, and then translating them,
- 47:08Speaker 8: the bad behaviors into good ones, Okay that are like
- 47:11Speaker 8: you know, functionally acceptable and like promoting independence. And you know,
- 47:14Speaker 8: when I was sixteen months old, is acting out when
- 47:17Speaker 8: he's taking his taking and putting poop in people's hands.
- 47:24Speaker 7: Well, it depends on why he's doing it.
- 47:25Speaker 8: Is he doing is he doing it to get something?
- 47:29Speaker 8: Is he doing it for like a sensory reason, like
- 47:31Speaker 8: it's self soothing, or is he doing.
- 47:33Speaker 7: It because he wants to escape? Putting on a new diaper.
- 47:37Speaker 8: Girl something it wants a new diaper because he like
- 47:41Speaker 8: he takes it off, the steps out of it. But
- 47:43Speaker 8: the thing is, sometimes he'll take it off right when
- 47:46Speaker 8: I put it on.
- 47:47Speaker 3: So there's nothing wrong with his diaper.
- 47:49Speaker 8: Maybe you don't like it, Maybe it could be he
- 47:55Speaker 8: doesn't like escape, Okay, that's a good would be like that,
- 47:59Speaker 8: or if he doesn't want to put a die, it
- 48:00Speaker 8: could be escape, which means like he's not trying to
- 48:02Speaker 8: put it on, He's gonna run away. And if you
- 48:03Speaker 8: try to put it on, he doesn't want to put
- 48:05Speaker 8: a diaper on, maybe because he wants the lollipop first.
- 48:08Speaker 7: Maybe you know what's the topic?
- 48:11Speaker 3: Why does my man doa?
- 48:19Speaker 8: Like?
- 48:19Speaker 7: How did you get into this?
- 48:20Speaker 8: It literally just happened. I was criminal behavior on analysis,
- 48:24Speaker 8: so I was a criminal sing like criminal mind. Yes,
- 48:27Speaker 8: so that was like my whole trajectory since I was
- 48:29Speaker 8: like seven years old. But the criminal justice and psych
- 48:32Speaker 8: field really had their internships. While I was in college
- 48:36Speaker 8: was like either sitting behind a desk billion insurance or
- 48:38Speaker 8: like filing paperwork. And I'm not a very behind the
- 48:41Speaker 8: test behind the desk kind of girls. So Marcus Autism Center,
- 48:44Speaker 8: like it's attached to Emory and Children's they had an
- 48:48Speaker 8: internship for me there. So it was ten months in
- 48:51Speaker 8: the severe behavior unit working with individuals.
- 48:54Speaker 3: Say severe behavior.
- 48:55Speaker 8: I got like three concussions of bruised rib and like
- 49:00Speaker 8: while I was there, she.
- 49:02Speaker 4: Was putting her her dad's I had I'd like to wait,
- 49:08Speaker 4: let's let's rewind.
- 49:09Speaker 8: So you are getting a concussion from your clients, your clients.
- 49:14Speaker 3: Your patients.
- 49:15Speaker 8: I'm not gonna I'm just gonna say, like it was
- 49:18Speaker 8: a very different experience.
- 49:21Speaker 7: I mean they didn't provide much training.
- 49:22Speaker 8: Granted, like I had two days of like de escalation,
- 49:25Speaker 8: but like when you're in that environment, like you're not used,
- 49:28Speaker 8: like you're not doing any of the forms or any
- 49:30Speaker 8: of the things, like you just literally have to like
- 49:32Speaker 8: kind of duck and move and not turn your back. Wait,
- 49:35Speaker 8: so I'm so, what kind of patients is it? What
- 49:38Speaker 8: age range there was? Age ranges from I think like
- 49:41Speaker 8: four to twenty two, I mean tights from like six
- 49:45Speaker 8: one two hundred and thirty pounds.
- 49:47Speaker 5: I mean.
- 49:48Speaker 8: So yeah, like I'll show you some videos once we
- 49:50Speaker 8: get off camera of like you know, the gear and
- 49:52Speaker 8: like the session rooms behind.
- 49:53Speaker 7: But like I took the internship because they were saying
- 49:56Speaker 7: like I was.
- 49:56Speaker 8: Just gonna be like helping with data, floating around with
- 49:59Speaker 8: different you know, clients or whatever, and just helping out
- 50:01Speaker 8: the teams. They didn't say I was going to be
- 50:03Speaker 8: like in the room doing his stuff.
- 50:05Speaker 3: Yeah, and so say what you had again? You had
- 50:07Speaker 3: a concussion.
- 50:08Speaker 7: So I got a concussion. I had a couple of
- 50:09Speaker 7: broove strips.
- 50:10Speaker 8: Like my first day, like I had a helmet on,
- 50:12Speaker 8: and they had like because some of the kids are aggressive,
- 50:15Speaker 8: so like when you're in close quarters, like you need
- 50:17Speaker 8: protective gear. So like my first day, they were like, Okay,
- 50:21Speaker 8: well you're your turn to come in now. And I
- 50:22Speaker 8: was like, so, like I saw them do it a
- 50:25Speaker 8: couple of times, and I'm like, I don't even understand
- 50:27Speaker 8: why they were doing that. So like I was just
- 50:29Speaker 8: kind of like looking and repeating, and you know, I
- 50:32Speaker 8: got in.
- 50:33Speaker 7: He knocked my helmet off and he whacked me on
- 50:34Speaker 7: top of the head.
- 50:35Speaker 8: Like lammed my head with them with the iPad.
- 50:40Speaker 3: So what's so, what's the long term goal with.
- 50:43Speaker 8: So with me, like my thing is just promoting like
- 50:47Speaker 8: starting from diagnosis being kids because there's so many people,
- 50:51Speaker 8: like especially girls who are missed and diagnosed because they
- 50:54Speaker 8: don't present the same as like the typical white male,
- 50:57Speaker 8: you know, look of autism of what they've studied since
- 51:01Speaker 8: you know, autism was a thing, So there's a lot
- 51:03Speaker 8: of girls who are diagnosed. So was my thesis is
- 51:05Speaker 8: about It's about misdiagnosed girls because they're usually diagnosed with bipolar, depression, anxiety,
- 51:11Speaker 8: you know, all these other things before they get you know,
- 51:14Speaker 8: like an autism diagnosis, because they're so good at masking.
- 51:16Speaker 8: Because like women of course, are supposed to be like
- 51:18Speaker 8: a certain way, and you're in you know, since a
- 51:20Speaker 8: little kid, you're told, you know, you're supposed to be like,
- 51:22Speaker 8: you know, be sweet and be you know whatever. So
- 51:24Speaker 8: like we learned how to like mask and figure out like,
- 51:27Speaker 8: you know, how we need to act in this specific
- 51:30Speaker 8: environment and how like a shape us about how it's
- 51:35Speaker 8: all meant.
- 51:35Speaker 2: So your dad actually did, he did, because.
- 51:42Speaker 5: I did have the.
- 51:43Speaker 8: Helmet and I did have to you know, he did
- 51:45Speaker 8: teach me how to spar and yes, and he did
- 51:50Speaker 8: having a big heart.
- 51:51Speaker 7: And just wanting to help people absolutely because they thought
- 51:53Speaker 7: I was gonna quit.
- 51:53Speaker 8: After my first day, I literally sent after that session,
- 51:56Speaker 8: I sent a picture of my head. I told him
- 51:57Speaker 8: what happened, and I like, I got home that day
- 51:59Speaker 8: and there were like.
- 52:01Speaker 7: Don't like, is she gonna quit? Is she gonna quit?
- 52:03Speaker 7: And they're like, are you going back tomorrow?
- 52:04Speaker 6: And I went back.
- 52:05Speaker 7: I finished out my bid. It was a ten month bid.
- 52:07Speaker 8: It was pretty tough, but I like, I mean, I
- 52:09Speaker 8: ended up falling in love with it, and you know
- 52:12Speaker 8: it's that.
- 52:12Speaker 7: I mean, I didn't know anything about it. It did change.
- 52:15Speaker 8: Yeah, So like once I like went on my own
- 52:17Speaker 8: and figured out, like I started working with clients and
- 52:19Speaker 8: I was like, and I figured out why people do
- 52:21Speaker 8: the things they do and like what to do to
- 52:23Speaker 8: try to help. Like, I was like, I love this
- 52:25Speaker 8: and I've been doing it ever since I think twenty nineteen.
- 52:28Speaker 13: Love.
- 52:29Speaker 8: I've been a behavior analyst for about a year now,
- 52:31Speaker 8: but I like was a behavior therapist for like years
- 52:33Speaker 8: before that.
- 52:34Speaker 3: For you, that's depressed something you love, ye, I love.
- 52:37Speaker 8: Yeah, and I didn't think I would, but you know,
- 52:40Speaker 8: I love it. I get so much fulfillment about it.
- 52:41Speaker 8: I love all my kids. I love their families, and
- 52:44Speaker 8: like I loved like seeing the difference that I make
- 52:46Speaker 8: every day, like just between like the relationships. Yeah, like
- 52:49Speaker 8: they can finally go eat at a restaurant now because.
- 52:52Speaker 7: You know they're able to hire the worse exactly. That's
- 52:55Speaker 7: incredible for you. Yeah, I love both of.
- 52:57Speaker 3: You girls are doing it out here, doing it inspiring.
- 53:01Speaker 9: Both of your dads have left their marks in their
- 53:04Speaker 9: respective industry. How do you plan on legendizing and we
- 53:08Speaker 9: made that word up.
- 53:09Speaker 3: Tamara, I love it.
- 53:11Speaker 9: How do you both plan on legendizing your world? And
- 53:15Speaker 9: we'll start with you.
- 53:16Speaker 6: So I'm a mom of five.
- 53:19Speaker 9: Yeah, I feel like super mom that out there, supermom.
- 53:25Speaker 10: I feel like the best way to legendize my beliefs
- 53:30Speaker 10: and my work ethic and everything is just instill that
- 53:33Speaker 10: in my kids.
- 53:34Speaker 8: I've heard a lot of that from moms there, and
- 53:37Speaker 8: that's amazing.
- 53:39Speaker 10: Like I'm raising five amazing individuals and.
- 53:43Speaker 8: Thought, that's a huge accomplishment, because I fee an accomplishment.
- 53:45Speaker 8: Like when I work with my kids and I see
- 53:47Speaker 8: like the differences, but having them yours, I can't even imagine.
- 53:51Speaker 6: I actually have two narrow divergent sons.
- 53:54Speaker 7: Oh wow, okay as well.
- 53:57Speaker 10: Yeah, so you guys, can I mean, if you have
- 54:00Speaker 10: any about.
- 54:01Speaker 8: You guys, realize how ADHD I was and how much
- 54:05Speaker 8: it actually impacted like not just like the concentration and
- 54:08Speaker 8: the hyperactivity, but like all other aspects of my life
- 54:12Speaker 8: until I started working like in a b a behavior analysis.
- 54:16Speaker 1: I'm mighty to ask you some questions.
- 54:20Speaker 10: Together raising definitely making keep making my children good people
- 54:28Speaker 10: for them, and you know, I mean, I feel like
- 54:30Speaker 10: that's the best thing, because whether you have money or not,
- 54:33Speaker 10: it's not like what what matters most is you are
- 54:38Speaker 10: and what you leave behind.
- 54:40Speaker 9: Absolutely, because the world needs more good people.
- 54:44Speaker 7: The world does.
- 54:45Speaker 10: I always say that the world right now is so
- 54:48Speaker 10: full of people and not humans.
- 54:52Speaker 8: Lost humanity and so for you to say that speaks
- 54:56Speaker 8: volumes because the times we are living now, we for
- 55:00Speaker 8: leading that just kind of humanity exactly.
- 55:06Speaker 9: It has been lost and I'm hoping we we find
- 55:09Speaker 9: our way back to it. But the fact that that
- 55:12Speaker 9: is a priority for.
- 55:13Speaker 3: You when you are teaching your children.
- 55:16Speaker 9: And like you said, it's not about the money, it's
- 55:18Speaker 9: not about fame, it's not about the material things. It's
- 55:22Speaker 9: about just being a kind, decent person to everybody, to strangers.
- 55:28Speaker 8: The janitor, regardless religion, sexual preferences. Just be a kind
- 55:37Speaker 8: person because we're all human. We're all human, we all
- 55:40Speaker 8: have feelings, we all yeah, just be you know, have
- 55:43Speaker 8: our own experiences.
- 55:44Speaker 7: Yeah, like you never I mean you never know? All right,
- 55:47Speaker 7: what about your victoria.
- 55:48Speaker 8: I definitely want to leave my mark on the world.
- 55:51Speaker 8: I'm working on a couple of projects that I will
- 55:53Speaker 8: you know will be in the works and I will
- 55:56Speaker 8: talk about in the up coming days. But I do
- 55:59Speaker 8: have Instagram that I'm getting started up. It's called behavior Baddies.
- 56:04Speaker 8: So it's not a little fun, relatable, you know, so
- 56:07Speaker 8: teaching educational, so and it makes it fun easy for
- 56:11Speaker 8: people to understand because like a lot of people don't
- 56:13Speaker 8: realize it's like we use behavior analysts and ABA like
- 56:15Speaker 8: every day in our lives. So like you're working and
- 56:19Speaker 8: reinforcement is your check in two weeks. So it's like
- 56:21Speaker 8: everything has to do with like the way you interact
- 56:23Speaker 8: with the world environment, different stimuli. So I'm that's basically
- 56:28Speaker 8: what I tell in a relatable, fun, easy manner. And
- 56:31Speaker 8: then I also do like current events, talking about like
- 56:33Speaker 8: different current events as far as like any people who
- 56:39Speaker 8: have autism or you know, just unheard or on and
- 56:42Speaker 8: like not being treated right. That was a guy who
- 56:43Speaker 8: was you know killed in jail, and like just certain
- 56:46Speaker 8: things because like we don't have the supports and the
- 56:48Speaker 8: people that are knowledgeable to handle and de escalate these things.
- 56:52Speaker 8: So like a lot of people are being you know
- 56:54Speaker 8: turned away, or just a lot of unnecessary violence or
- 56:57Speaker 8: death is you know coming about that? So just bringing
- 56:59Speaker 8: away and because like I mean, you never.
- 57:01Speaker 7: Know you know what you need to do.
- 57:04Speaker 8: I'm going you need to figure out why fans oh no, behave.
- 57:12Speaker 7: We can a whole episode should give me an expert.
- 57:18Speaker 3: Are experts?
- 57:19Speaker 7: We have to get them? I definitely.
- 57:21Speaker 8: I mean it's we deal with sports too, Like I
- 57:23Speaker 8: could go into sports behavior analysis, whether like sports management
- 57:28Speaker 8: or you know, having fans, management girls, girls, girls, just
- 57:35Speaker 8: just having to deal with a fame or like coming
- 57:37Speaker 8: off of an injury, because coming off of an injury
- 57:39Speaker 8: for an athlete, that that's like their whole everything. It's
- 57:41Speaker 8: kind of hard sometimes getting them back or just getting
- 57:44Speaker 8: them you know, exactly, just getting the mind to be
- 57:46Speaker 8: like okay, that was an injury and then taking down
- 57:48Speaker 8: the mental aspect of it.
- 57:56Speaker 6: A game.
- 57:58Speaker 3: I love games.
- 58:00Speaker 1: Oh, these are good ones.
- 58:01Speaker 4: Okay, So the first one is what are people usually
- 58:05Speaker 4: surprised to.
- 58:06Speaker 3: Find out about you?
- 58:13Speaker 7: Oh?
- 58:14Speaker 3: I actually don't know. I'm gonna end with this one.
- 58:21Speaker 3: Oh I don't know about this one?
- 58:27Speaker 7: Mm hmm.
- 58:28Speaker 3: Were you ready for Victoria?
- 58:31Speaker 6: Okay?
- 58:33Speaker 8: What mine says that I'm not spoiled or I'm not
- 58:36Speaker 8: a professional athlete really look like a gymnast. I was
- 58:41Speaker 8: so good at sports, and I should have kept it up,
- 58:44Speaker 8: but I didn't.
- 58:45Speaker 7: And but I do love it. I did, but I
- 58:48Speaker 7: just wasn't.
- 58:48Speaker 8: I didn't want to be a college athlete. But I
- 58:52Speaker 8: loved it ever until I got older. And I do
- 58:54Speaker 8: wish I did play in college. But you know, it
- 58:59Speaker 8: took you elsewhere that.
- 59:02Speaker 5: I love that.
- 59:03Speaker 1: I love that, Thank you.
- 59:05Speaker 9: I love country music. Actually would have never have guessed
- 59:09Speaker 9: that one many Oh my gosh, Okay, what's your favorite song?
- 59:14Speaker 6: Then I like Chadohoochie.
- 59:19Speaker 3: And give us, you know, drop us a couple of.
- 59:24Speaker 6: Jackson Okay, give us a little.
- 59:26Speaker 3: Way down in Yonder on the Chatoo.
- 59:28Speaker 6: She never knew how much the money water meant to me.
- 59:31Speaker 10: Well learned how to swim, man, I learned who I.
- 59:34Speaker 6: Was, a lot about living in a little about love.
- 59:43Speaker 3: So any concerts you've gone to, you know you would
- 59:47Speaker 3: want to go to.
- 59:48Speaker 10: Country music is one of those things where like the
- 59:52Speaker 10: best concerts are like the out on the Grass.
- 59:58Speaker 7: Cowboy boots.
- 1:00:00Speaker 2: So where did the your love for country muses that
- 1:00:02Speaker 2: come from?
- 1:00:02Speaker 6: It actually came from my father. Really, Yes, I have
- 1:00:04Speaker 6: a love for music just like in general. Yeah, like
- 1:00:08Speaker 6: it's so cool.
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: Yeah, I would have never guessed.
- 1:00:11Speaker 8: That's a pleasant surprise.
- 1:00:13Speaker 9: Yeah, I mind should not be a surprise because everyone
- 1:00:16Speaker 9: knows I hate flying.
- 1:00:19Speaker 6: Put me on a train.
- 1:00:20Speaker 3: I will get I will get on a train in
- 1:00:22Speaker 3: a minute.
- 1:00:23Speaker 9: I went from New Orleans to Los Angeles on the
- 1:00:26Speaker 9: train with my month old him and I got a
- 1:00:30Speaker 9: little room and it was the best.
- 1:00:32Speaker 3: Time of my life.
- 1:00:33Speaker 7: You went straight and straight.
- 1:00:34Speaker 3: Yes, ma'am. I love the train ride.
- 1:00:37Speaker 6: How long did that?

- 1:00:40Speaker 3: It's relaxing. I get my own space.
- 1:00:44Speaker 7: That's the only thing I've seen, like movies and stuff.
- 1:00:46Speaker 8: And you get a little bit, you get a little room,
- 1:00:48Speaker 8: get a little room, you get three meals.
