Transcript
- 0:54Speaker 1: A we all welcome this week's show. We'll take a
- 1:02little break from working our way through the Catechism of
- 1:07Fallow Sparago is an exhaustive explanation of the Catechism of
- 1:11the Catholic Church and our questions and answers from radio replies.
- 1:14Because you know this is this I'm recording this on
- 1:19September eleventh, and it's the day after Charlie Kirk's assassination,
- 1:25a few days after that horrific killing of the Ukrainian
- 1:30refugee on the train in Charlotte, and hell, it's all
- 1:36hit me really hard, and I'm always somber on nine
- 1:41to eleven. I know a lot of my audience will
- 1:44not have actually been old enough to remember that morning.
- 1:51It changed my life, changed most everybody's life. Actually, you know,
- 1:59I'm remember waking up and getting ready for work. It
- 2:02was a very chilly day. I was actually putting on
- 2:06a jacket, getting ready to go out, and when the
- 2:09first plane hit the building, and then the second plane
- 2:14hit the building. By the time I got to work,
- 2:16I had the radio on the planet crashed in Pennsylvania,
- 2:20and you know, we lost three thousand people in the
- 2:23blink of an eye. And I know, you know, since
- 2:27there have been all kinds of conspiracy theories, and you know,
- 2:32I don't really care. What happened was we lost that
- 2:38many lives, and you know, it changed my life, changed
- 2:44my life, changed everybody's lives, hopefully. But I resolved that
- 2:51evening that I was going to quit my job. There
- 2:57everything comfortable going along, all right. You know, had friends,
- 3:03had was dating a whole bit, was getting ready to
- 3:08start going to the local university there in Boone, you know,
- 3:12Appalachian State, and they had at least one degree program.
- 3:16I thought looked pretty good, and you know, things things
- 3:18were going to be fun. I think things were going
- 3:22to be playing music again, and I already had that
- 3:25lined up, you know, and it actually reconnected with a
- 3:28girl from high school who was just stunning gorgeous actually,
- 3:34like the great great granddaughter of Martha Washington, and our
- 3:38families have connections going back hundreds of years, and you know,
- 3:43everything was going to be good. And I resolved that night.
- 3:47I knew I couldn't enlist in the military, even though
- 3:52that's what I really wanted to do. I would have
- 3:54been one of those to do it right away, but
- 3:57I still had a disability on my record from having
- 3:59been paralyzed from a back injury. And if you know
- 4:02my conversion story, you know that story. I was healed
- 4:04by a miracle. And I also had family responsibilities. My
- 4:09grandmother had suffered her first heart attack, my uncle had
- 4:13suffered a stroke, and I knew I was going to
- 4:15have to go and take care of them a goodly
- 4:17amount of the time. And I did it. Yeah, really,
- 4:25that became a full time thing within a year or two,
- 4:28So I knew that was coming. And of course also
- 4:31only child and divorced parents, and you know, got a
- 4:35responsibility to my mother and such. But I decided I
- 4:39was going to go work in politics, and I did
- 4:44and got accepted to a certain Southern Baptist university up
- 4:47in Virginia with a very well known politically involved minister.
- 4:55I'll just go and tell you it was doctor Jerry Folwell.
- 4:57And I had already been making some connections in politics,
- 5:02had some friends with the Egle Forum and Philis Shala
- 5:05Athlete's Group and with Young Americans YAF whatever that different groups,
- 5:12and so I went up there and started getting involved
- 5:17as quickly as I could, got involved with the local
- 5:20Republican party. They were really great, really welcoming. I thought
- 5:24that's how all of them were. So I got back
- 5:25to North Carolina. Anyway, I came up with an idea
- 5:30talking with my friends, especially at Egle Forum and such
- 5:32as that, and I went to doctor Follwell said, I
- 5:36want to start a group on campus. The goal is
- 5:40to be to educate all the students on politics, on
- 5:47pro life issues, on faith and family issues. And I
- 5:53want this to start here and spread to every campus
- 5:55in America. And it's not going to be like the
- 5:57College Republicans. You know, I'd been involved with the College
- 6:00Republicans back in Georgia. I won't say they're a worthless organization,
- 6:06but it's really all about networking, getting in with the
- 6:13right people. A lot of law students and such trying
- 6:17to get network their way up. You know, how could
- 6:22I put it bluntly? Well, when I was at UGA,
- 6:25the two leaders of the College Republicans were twenty, you know,
- 6:31nineteen twenty years old, always wore khakis and dress shirts,
- 6:37dripping old money, and were bald. You did not get
- 6:40in into the leadership unless you were you know, old
- 6:46family and very well connected. I was old family in
- 6:49North Carolina. I was not in Georgia, and they were like,
- 6:53who were you, you know, and it was very exclusion here.
- 7:00We'll say. So I get up there and doctor Fowells,
- 7:03I've told you before. He was one of the greatest
- 7:05men I've ever known. He was magnanimous. He slapped me
- 7:08on the back, he shook my hand, he said, whatever
- 7:10you need to make this happen, you call me. You
- 7:13tell so and so and so and so that I
- 7:15told you to do this, and go ahead and do it. Wow.
- 7:19Blown away, right. So I charted and immediately faced opposition
- 7:26from those that were more established, like the college Republicans
- 7:29on campus, who stopped having meetings essentially so I couldn't
- 7:33use them to organize different people in the administration such
- 7:38as that ran into walls rand walls constantly. I had
- 7:44had the temerity to be working in local politics. State
- 7:48politics was more on the national level as well, and
- 7:51I was very quickly hired by a Republican congressman to
- 7:55help with policy and speech writing. I was organizing people
- 7:59to go out and knockdoors and walk districts, you know,
- 8:03helping that with re elections. Working with a US senator.
- 8:08Got to know through a third party g Gordon Lyddie,
- 8:12who also gave me his full endorsement and some advice
- 8:16and mentorship to another some connection with Rush Limbaugh. You know,
- 8:22I was really kind of on my way right and
- 8:27you know, and then I converted Catholicism, and doctor Follwell
- 8:32had no problem with that whatsoever, but others at the
- 8:35school did, and I was submarily asked to leave. Well
- 8:40that was okay because my grandmother had her second heart attack,
- 8:42and I went back to North Carolina. Tried to do
- 8:45the same thing in North Carolina and was blocked at
- 8:49every point. The Republican Party what had nothing to do
- 8:52with me. This was before the Tea Party movement. I
- 8:55was some upstart. I hadn't paid my dues and started
- 9:00a statewide newspaper started going out from I mean one
- 9:06hundred counties in North Carolina. I visited them all every
- 9:08single year, making speeches, signing people up, organizing anything from
- 9:16you petitions to door walking campaigns, get out of the
- 9:20vote campaigns, you know, you name it. And eventually crossed
- 9:26a couple of very influential people, congressman and such, and
- 9:33they went after my advertisers. They shut us down, basically
- 9:36put us in bankruptcy. Before then, the people were trying
- 9:41to run me off the road thanks to a certain
- 9:44congressman in the western part of the state. I was
- 9:47informed by the FBI that there was actually almost like
- 9:50a hit put out on me. They were going to
- 9:52kill me. That actually does tie to nine to eleven.
- 9:56But I'm not going to get into it. Let's just
- 9:59say that that politician would not allow certain things to
- 10:05happen unless money was put in his campaign account. And
- 10:08I publicized that and he lost his seat, and it
- 10:13was after that the knives were really out for me.
- 10:16So long story short, I tried to do essentially what
- 10:22Charlie Kirk did. He came up about five years after
- 10:27I was out of the business. I was aware of
- 10:30him from the start, cheering him on all the way. Man,
- 10:35I thought, Charlie Kirk hung the moon. You know. It
- 10:39kind of irked me that he had the connection to
- 10:41the same university that had forced me to leave and
- 10:45leave where I would have been extremely successful in politics
- 10:48because Virginia is not like North Carolina at all. Virginians
- 10:53are friendly, welcoming, open polite, not in the DC area,
- 10:59necessarily in central and western part of the state, and
- 11:03I mean I had people were saying, Okay, when you
- 11:07finish this, we want you to run for Congress. When
- 11:09you finish that, we want you to run for Senate.
- 11:12I was actually even set up on a date with
- 11:13one of the Bush twins. I was well, I wasn't
- 11:16set up on a date. Someone said, would you like
- 11:18for me arrange this meeting? Frankly in retrospect, essentially, especially
- 11:24with all the faith I lost in George W. Bush
- 11:26over the prosecution of the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq
- 11:29and his support for gay marriage, that would be another
- 11:32big one. And then he never lifted a single finger
- 11:35to do anything for the pro life cause that he
- 11:37supposedly championed. It helped him get elected, and then he
- 11:41want nothing to do with it. I'm very, very glad
- 11:44I did not get involved with the Bushes and McCain's
- 11:47and all that crowd. So here comes Chirlie Kirk, and man,
- 11:51he's doing it. He's kicking the ball out of he's
- 11:55knocking the ball out of the park, he's kicking the
- 11:56football down the field and he's I mean, without Charlie Kirk,
- 12:01I don't know that President Trump would have been reelected
- 12:05eighteen year old kid comes up in the Obama administration,
- 12:10starts doing exactly what might have been from going and
- 12:16speaking and handing out pamphlets and going door to door
- 12:20get out the vote, organizing, convincing people of especially the
- 12:26pro life message. And he was all about God, family
- 12:33and country. And yesterday somebody killed it. Now I mean
- 12:39human reaction. My first thought is that could have been me,
- 12:43and probably should have been me, and almost was me.
- 12:47And you know, on the one hand, thank god it
- 12:50wasn't me. On the other hand, I am so broken
- 12:55and said for him, for his family, for our country.
- 13:09I mean, it's really gotten to me. That girl that
- 13:14was killed on the train in Charlotte. I mean, as
- 13:18y'all know, if you listen to the show for very long.
- 13:21My best friend was Ukrainian from mary Ople, and she
- 13:27went essentially back to mary Ople to get her mother
- 13:31out and her son and they're all presumed dead, Okay.
- 13:44I mean, it's not like there's a grave somewhere that
- 13:47I know about, But I haven't heard from her, and
- 13:51we used to talk daily even when she was back
- 13:54in Ukraine. The power to be out. They'd set up
- 13:56a generator in a coffee shop and she'd go in
- 13:59she texts me, we're okay, We're okay. They had to
- 14:02leave for a while. I think they went over to
- 14:05like maybe Georgia or Czechoslovakia. Anyway, they had to come
- 14:11back because her her son was had graduated high school
- 14:15and was becoming military age. And then nothing. And that
- 14:19was right after a huge drone attack and I think
- 14:22a missile attack too, in the neighborhood where she was
- 14:26staying in Odessa. So I begged her, begged her to
- 14:34come to America as a refugee. I would have sponsored her,
- 14:39her whole family, housed and fed them anything. And then
- 14:45to see that monster killed that girl in Charlotte. How
- 14:55can our nation be more dangerous then most of the
- 15:03neighborhoods in Kiev. How How are there more killings in
- 15:10the streets of Chicago on a weekly basis than there
- 15:13were in Afghanistan at the height of the war in Kabble.
- 15:19Our culture is so evil now. One thing that's really
- 15:29impressed me and gives me hope is that, according to
- 15:36people that were close to Charlie Kirk, I never met him,
- 15:38not claiming to. And I'm certainly not trying to write
- 15:41on his coat, tails or anything. I'm just giving you
- 15:43some background. His wife is a devout Catholic, and he
- 15:51had been attending Mass with her and their kids regularly,
- 15:59and they were planning on having their marriage blessed in
- 16:02the church. And about a week ago, from what I understand,
- 16:08he gave a speech honoring the blessed Virgin Mary. I
- 16:13hope and pray that Charlie Kirk, in his heart had
- 16:16already made the decision to become Catholic. And I'm praying
- 16:30for the repose of his soul, and that our blessed
- 16:33Mother wrapped him in her mantle and took him directly
- 16:40to Heaven. I think it's very important that we all fast.
- 16:46If you can do penance, offer up your sufferings. A
- 16:54truly good man has left this earth, leaving behind a
- 17:03family that's gonna miss him forever until they're reunited with it.
- 17:16But what's important to understand is he was the leader
- 17:22of a movement. Now. I know not everybody listening to
- 17:26my show is a great Donald Trump fanly, Okay, I am.
- 17:30I am as maga as can be. He doesn't not
- 17:35everything he does do I agree with. I'm definitely opposed
- 17:38to his position on you know, in beatri fertilization such
- 17:43as that, but ninety five ninety nine percent, he is
- 17:50knocking it out of the park every day. So I
- 17:55was writing the gospel reflection for next year, and today's
- 18:00one that I was writing on happened to be the
- 18:02memorial the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of the Church. And
- 18:07in the first reading it, you know, it's from when
- 18:13animis were expelled from the garden of Eden, and it says,
- 18:19let me see if I can just get the quote here,
- 18:21I will put in between in between inmity, between you
- 18:25and the woman, between Satan and the woman, the serpent
- 18:27and the woman, and between you and your offspring and hers.
- 18:31He will strike your head, while you will strike at
- 18:33his heel. The devil hates more than anything else other
- 18:40than God, I suppose family. He hates motherhood, he hates fatherhood,
- 18:49he hates love, he hates beauty. Everything so called liberals
- 18:58stand for the left is against the family. The tools
- 19:03the devil uses to attack the family are divorce, abortion, contraception, pornography,
- 19:13radical political feminism. The feminist movement that is communist core,
- 19:17has done nothing but tear families apart and dennigreat fatherhood,
- 19:22the homosexual and transgender movements. These are the tools that
- 19:25he uses to destroy the family, which is the foundation
- 19:28of the church. Without the family, there's no church. That's
- 19:37everything the left stands for now. In the past few months,
- 19:43we've seen that horrific school shooting, church shooting, I guess
- 19:48you'd call it, you know, the Catholic church at a
- 19:52Catholic school, transactivists goes up there and searts shooting into
- 19:57the church at mass killing children for then. You know,
- 20:02I guess last year there was that transactivist who went
- 20:05and shot up a school in Nashville. From what I understand,
- 20:10the majority of the most recent school shootings and church
- 20:14shootings have been by transactivists. And the reports are of now,
- 20:22and I you know, first reports, we go with them
- 20:25with what they are. But the FBI is saying that
- 20:27they've recovered the rifle of the person who shot Charlie
- 20:30Kirk and it has trans messages carved into the ammunition
- 20:36and the rifle or paid it on there. However it is,
- 20:38I haven't seen it. You know, there is evil in
- 20:44this world. There is real evil in the United States,
- 20:48and it's that evil that's in these antifa riots. It's
- 20:56that evil that's in these pro abortion demonstrations. It's that
- 21:03evil that's in the trans movement. Now I know certainly
- 21:08not all people who are so called transgendered, that something
- 21:11doesn't even exist, by the way, it's gender dysphoria. Then
- 21:14they get manipulated by teachers, by doctors, drugged and get
- 21:20their bits cut off, and they end up a lot
- 21:23of them insane. Okay, a lot of them are good people,
- 21:26a lot of them are trying to detransition, a lot
- 21:28of them are becoming Christian. It's the ideology behind that movement,
- 21:33just as it's the ideology behind political radical political feminism,
- 21:38behind abortion, behind no fault divorce, behind secularism in general,
- 21:45that denies that there even is a God, that denies
- 21:50the church that God put here with the authority to
- 21:52teach in his stead. That denies the teaching of God
- 21:55through the Bible and through his Church. It's evil same
- 22:00ideology that has allowed crime to run rampant on our streets.
- 22:04The prosecutors and the das that let criminals out of
- 22:09jail and then prosecute people praying peacefully in front of
- 22:12an abortion clinic, or investigate parents standing up for their
- 22:18kids at school board meeting, saying I don't want my
- 22:21kid made insane through radical teachers and drugs pumped into
- 22:26them without my knowledge. The movement Charlie Kirk led was changing,
- 22:33that the younger people starting to become more conservative, more Christian.
- 22:40And this is something that you know, most Christian denominations
- 22:45can agree on this. It's not purely a Catholic issue.
- 22:48We can agree on this with the Baptists and the
- 22:51Methodists and whatever. I know, a lot of the churches
- 22:55have gotten pretty darn radical. I mean, there are not
- 22:57a lot of conservative Anglicans left. There are some conservative Lutherans,
- 23:02there are some still, just a handful conservative Presbyterians. But
- 23:07we can agree that our culture is evil, and it's
- 23:12the very root of it is the attack on the family,
- 23:18and that is purely Satanic. So I'm gonna wrap it
- 23:23up here today as we remember the victims of nine
- 23:31to eleven and all those killed and wounded in the
- 23:35wars that followed. And I don't just mean our soldiers.
- 23:40They are innocent Afghanis and Iraqis whose families were killed
- 23:47for no valid reason. I mean, we had a valid
- 23:54reason to go to war. In Afghanistan to take out
- 23:57the Taliban, and that was pretty much wrapped up in
- 24:00the blink of an eye. And George W. Bush, who
- 24:02have gotten our troops the hell out of there after that,
- 24:06whether we had a valid reason to go into a rack,
- 24:09I don't know. I don't know. You know, I was
- 24:13somewhat on the inside at the time. I was given
- 24:16information that usually didn't get out to the general public.
- 24:20There are things about that conflict that many people don't know.
- 24:27But as the source of that information was like the CIA,
- 24:32and we found out how thoroughly corrupt the CIA is.
- 24:37If we didn't know it, you know before, with the
- 24:40Kennedy assassination on up, through the drug trafficking the eighties
- 24:45and all the stuff they've been up to, we've certainly
- 24:48found it out after the Trump after Biden stole the election.
- 24:55We have certainly found out that the CIA and the
- 25:00and our military intelligence agencies have fairly corrupt and really
- 25:08deep state evil military I mean, you know, we were
- 25:13warned decades ago give about the military industrial complex that
- 25:17they would start wars just to make money. Well, I'm
- 25:21not going to say one word about whether Iraq was
- 25:24a just war or not. I don't know. I don't know,
- 25:29but I do know it could have been over in
- 25:31a matter of weeks, and we had no reason to
- 25:34station troops there for almost twenty years, getting their arms
- 25:38and legs blown off and being killed. And that's why
- 25:43I really am glad that I have nothing to do
- 25:48with the Bush family or the Cheney family, and that
- 25:51Donald Trump has pretty much destroyed their political influence. Thank
- 25:56God for Donald Trump, at least for that. You may
- 25:59hate everything else about the man, but he has taken
- 26:02down the Clintons, the Bushes, and the Chinese, and God willing,
- 26:06by the time it's all over, JD. Evans at least
- 26:09will put an end to any influence Obama had. And
- 26:13the Bidens, I mean they're done. They're done. I mean
- 26:17they will be Biden will be remembered as an illegitimate president,
- 26:21as a national disgrace, and I mean his family name
- 26:27will never carry any influence in this country again. But
- 26:33my main point is I want you to think of
- 26:38Charlie Kirk as a martyr, no different than the early
- 26:41Christian martyrs, no different than the Maccabees, no different than
- 26:44the martyrs in the American Revolution, or you know those
- 26:48that were killed in the Civil rights movement, for better
- 26:51or for worse. Some of the civil rights movement was
- 26:53wonderful and some of it was really not so good.
- 26:57But that's probably true just about anything that humans have
- 27:01their hands on. Whether the man was converting to Catholicism
- 27:08or not. He stood up for God, country, and family.
- 27:15He had a love for the Blessed Virgin Mary. And
- 27:18he was killed denouncing the trans movement, peacefully trying to
- 27:26debate and talk people into an understanding of the importance
- 27:30of the family. His main goal, he said after Trump's election,
- 27:35was to convince people to get married and have big families,
- 27:39especially young people. Get married young and have big families
- 27:42and raise them up in good Christian homes. I do
- 27:46not believe in any way, shape or form that it
- 27:50was It's a coincidence that he was killed, apparently by
- 27:54a transactivist, during a month and a week dedicated to
- 28:00the Blessed Virgin Mary. But remember, the serpent will strike
- 28:08at Jesus heel, but will eventually be crushed, and it's
- 28:14going to be hard. Until that point, we're a long
- 28:16way off. We're a long way off. The Church has
- 28:20taught for thousands of years. At the end of time
- 28:24will not come until the Jews have converted to Christianity,
- 28:28and the Muslims as well for that matter. And our
- 28:30blessed Virgin Mary has, our blessed Mother, has promised that
- 28:34she will be the one that leads the Muslims to conversion.
- 28:38We're a long ways off. Things are going to get
- 28:40a lot worse before they get better. But I want
- 28:42you to remember that Charlie Kirk was the leader of
- 28:45a movement, and as a martyr, his blood will fertilize
- 28:53that movement. We can't let it be in vain, and
- 28:57we can't lash out with any kind of violence or vindictiveness.
- 29:01He was not about that, and his Christians were not
- 29:04about that. My prayer is that the millions of young
- 29:09people that his life touched will each rise up to
- 29:15be a Charlie Kirk. And if you're listening to this
- 29:19today and you can do that, I can tell you
- 29:24it comes with risks, It comes with opposition, It comes
- 29:28with difficulties that you cannot imagine. You will think you
- 29:33have allies and friends one day and the next day
- 29:36they will be the very people trying to destroy you.
- 29:41But it's worth it. We're the church militant where the
- 29:45church on Earth? It's our job. And if you know
- 29:50a college student who was influenced by Charlie Kirk, or
- 29:54you know somebody in their twenties or whatever, or someone
- 29:58who is open to a rational debate and understanding. If
- 30:03you know a high school student who's maybe their politics
- 30:06aren't really formed yet, videos of Charlie Kirk, this podcast,
- 30:12this very podcast, share it with him and then say,
- 30:17you know, I'd like you to see this video of
- 30:18Charlie Kirk and can it could just be that one
- 30:26of his daughter running up and hugging him, and say,
- 30:33this is who the leftists, the Antifa, the transactivists, the
- 30:41Democrats killed. This is the man. And then after that,
- 30:48you know, there's some good, good videos from Praguer. You
- 30:52I don't agree with Prager on a lot, but I
- 30:54agree with him on enough that there's some videos I
- 30:56would share. You know, there's a lot turning point. USA
- 31:03is going to continue, and as has been said so
- 31:06many times in the last twenty four hours, let this
- 31:09be the turning point. Let en of twenty twenty five
- 31:16be for the good. What nine to eleven was in
- 31:21so many lives A day we never forget. Oh one
- 31:26more thing. I did a little video tribute to Charlie Kirk,
- 31:32just me playing my guitar. I took the words to
- 31:35an old song about a communist labor union organizer that
- 31:41was made popular by Joean Biaz and changed the words
- 31:44to honor Charlie Kirk. I thought he would find that
- 31:47a little humorous get a kick out of it. So
- 31:50this on YouTube. It's on my YouTube channel. Let me
- 31:54pull up the url for that real quick. You know,
- 31:56I'll put it in the show notes. I don't need
- 31:59to take up any more of your time. But my
- 32:03channel on YouTube, I'm real good and so fal emotion,
- 32:08aren't I Yeah. Anyway, my channel, I guess is you
- 32:14know what's that you arel? Doesn't make any sense, but
- 32:16it's Judson Carroll on YouTube. Judson Carroll five nine o two.
- 32:20I'll put the link on it. And you know, it
- 32:25was just something I did. It was heartfelt and I
- 32:27hope you'll enjoy it. It's called I dreamed I saw
- 32:30Charlie Kirk. So anyway, y'all have a great week. We'll
- 32:33get back to normal next week. Get back pick up
- 32:37where we left off talking about the sacraments, the all
- 32:39important sacraments. But you know, today's a good day to
- 32:45offer some penance and pray. Pray for our nation, pray that,
- 32:53pray that people will reject, that the American people will
- 32:57reject the godless socialistmocrats, liberalism, progressivism, communism, socialism, whatever you
- 33:05want to call it, and turn to Christian morals and teachings.
- 33:10I pray for the unity of all Christians. I pray
- 33:12every day, and we all should. It's actually an indulgenced
- 33:15prayer that all the Protestants will return to the Catholic Church.
- 33:18But until then, there are some things we can agree on,
- 33:23and key core is the family, God, family, and country.
- 33:30Our country is not always right, but we can rely
- 33:33on God and family, and as long as we prioritize
- 33:37those two things, the rest falls in. The rest falls
- 33:40into place. Anyway, y'all, I'll talk to you next time.
