Wingstop Shooting Ends in 40-Year Sentence | Sacramento Kings News
A 23-year-old man, Alimohammed Hamid, received a 40-year-to-life sentence for fatally shooting Joseph Anthony Soto, 38, in a Wingstop parking lot in 2024. The prosecution said Hamid pulled out a gun, fired one shot through the car window as Soto walked toward the restaurant, then fled the scene. Soto was hospitalized and died weeks later from his injuries. Hamid, who was arrested two weeks after the shooting, was convicted of second-degree murder with a gun enhancement.
