- 0:00Speaker 1: I'm doing pretty well. Thanks for asking.
- 0:03Speaker 2: Good no worries. Are you in Texas at the moment?
- 0:06Speaker 1: I am yes?
- 0:07Speaker 2: Is it has it started to get like really hot?
- 0:11Speaker 3: Oh yeah, yeah, it's like consistently up in like the
- 0:13Speaker 3: nineties already, so it's already uncomfortable nasty.
- 0:18Speaker 2: See, it's like all frosty here, so it's frazy.
- 0:22Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 0:22Speaker 3: Yeah, I've heard it a few times that we're coming
- 0:24Speaker 3: at like the perfect time to come there.
- 0:27Speaker 2: Yes, yeah, yeah, definitely.
- 0:30Speaker 1: I'm jagged from a skylet drive.
- 0:33Speaker 2: Beautiful. Thanks so much.
- 0:34Speaker 4: You're finally headed back to Australia this November. What are
- 0:38Speaker 4: you most looking forward to about playing here again?
- 0:41Speaker 3: I mean everything from the shows, the cities is just
- 0:45Speaker 3: a different vibe of everywhere. You just have such a
- 0:48Speaker 3: different experience with every city, whether it's the show, the food,
- 0:52Speaker 3: the people, you know, the sight seeing, all the touristy stuff.
- 0:57Speaker 3: So yeah, I mean there's just so many reasons to
- 0:59Speaker 3: be excited to come back.
- 1:01Speaker 2: Yeah. Awesome.
- 1:03Speaker 4: And do you have any memories in particular that stand
- 1:05Speaker 4: out from the last time.
- 1:06Speaker 2: You would heat.
- 1:08Speaker 3: Uh, I mean it was over, it was over a
- 1:11Speaker 3: decade ago. I mean I remember just having so much
- 1:14Speaker 3: fun at the shows. I mean, like doing all of
- 1:16Speaker 3: the international runs is always like so grueling. So I
- 1:19Speaker 3: mean like they're always like a tiring run, but you know,
- 1:23Speaker 3: in the end, just like you know, so rewarding and
- 1:26Speaker 3: so well worth it for all of the experiences. You know,
- 1:28Speaker 3: I love meeting you know, you know, new people who
- 1:32Speaker 3: you know whose everyday lives are just so much different
- 1:34Speaker 3: than mine, you know.
- 1:35Speaker 1: You know, I'm of course.
- 1:36Speaker 3: I've only been to Australia once before, where it was
- 1:39Speaker 3: so long ago, and I'm in such a different position
- 1:41Speaker 3: in my life now where it's it's almost going to
- 1:43Speaker 3: feel like going back for the first time again. So
- 1:46Speaker 3: I mean, just the overall experience, I'm just excited to
- 1:48Speaker 3: you know, you know, you know, take it all in
- 1:51Speaker 3: as like a brand new experience. But as for like
- 1:53Speaker 3: one specific memory, I can't say that I can pinpoint anything.
- 1:56Speaker 1: I mean, of.
- 1:57Speaker 3: Course everybody does the koalas and they see the kangaroo
- 2:00Speaker 3: and all that, but just the overall experience was just
- 2:03Speaker 3: like it was just so much fun. Like you know,
- 2:05Speaker 3: there's a part of the of the grueling touring nature
- 2:09Speaker 3: that I actually kind of like look back.
- 2:10Speaker 1: On fondly, you know, that was so much fun. Yeah,
- 2:14Speaker 1: you really don't.
- 2:21Speaker 3: No, I think I might have lost you. I'm not
- 2:30Speaker 3: sure if it's.
- 2:31Speaker 2: An yep, I think it's all right now.
- 2:37Speaker 1: You're you're playing normally.
- 2:38Speaker 3: Now, okay, Yeah, so sorry, Yeah, I'm not sure if
- 2:43Speaker 3: that was only with my internet or.
- 2:44Speaker 2: What probably mine? Alright? Cool? Uh? Is there any chance
- 2:51Speaker 2: we'll see some sort of on.
- 2:52Speaker 4: Stage collaboration between you guys and Scary Kids doing the tour.
- 2:57Speaker 3: I can't say that we've worked out anything like that,
- 2:59Speaker 3: you know, but anybody who's you know, who maybe went
- 3:02Speaker 3: to one of our shows last time we were there,
- 3:04Speaker 3: seen live videos. I mean, like we you know, we're
- 3:07Speaker 3: doing our best, and we definitely have a plan to
- 3:09Speaker 3: make sure that whether you know, you know, old fans,
- 3:12Speaker 3: new fans, like, everybody's gonna hear something that they enjoy
- 3:16Speaker 3: from the from the.
- 3:17Speaker 1: Catalog of the of the band.
- 3:20Speaker 3: So I mean, we're definitely gonna keep it energetic and
- 3:22Speaker 3: fun and keep everybody on their toes.
- 3:24Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 3:25Speaker 4: Yeah, beautiful. And how about your relationship with Scared Kids.
- 3:28Speaker 4: Scaring Kids, do you guys go way back?
- 3:30Speaker 2: Cool?
- 3:32Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean I haven't seen those guys in in
- 3:35Speaker 3: you know, since even longer than when I was in
- 3:37Speaker 3: Australia last So, like, that's gonna be cool to you know,
- 3:40Speaker 3: see some of those guys. I know, it's not you know,
- 3:42Speaker 3: it's not all familiar faces, you know, but some of
- 3:45Speaker 3: those guys have definitely been there ever since you know,
- 3:47Speaker 3: I last saw them. So that's gonna be cool to
- 3:49Speaker 3: you know, get to see everybody, you know, you know,
- 3:52Speaker 3: make some new friends and uh and you know, and
- 3:55Speaker 3: you know, much different from last time.
- 3:57Speaker 1: You know, last time we were over there. The band
- 3:59Speaker 1: that took us.
- 3:59Speaker 3: Over we're natives from over there, so it'll it'll be
- 4:02Speaker 3: cool to kind of experience all of this like with
- 4:04Speaker 3: another band.
- 4:04Speaker 1: Who's you know, in our shoes, you know, you know.
- 4:07Speaker 3: We're all in a foreign place, you know, and I'm
- 4:10Speaker 3: not sure place and I'm not sure went over there,
- 4:13Speaker 3: but again, it's been so long since I've been over
- 4:16Speaker 3: there that it's gonna feel like the first time for me.
- 4:19Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah.
- 4:20Speaker 4: And that's one song in your catalog that you think
- 4:23Speaker 4: has been the most underrated.
- 4:26Speaker 1: Oh man, the most underrated? That's tough.
- 4:30Speaker 3: I mean I always I guess one that I always
- 4:33Speaker 3: come back to that I thought was going to be
- 4:36Speaker 3: more of a popular song was off of Identity on Fire.
- 4:40Speaker 1: It's the song X Marks the Spot.
- 4:41Speaker 3: I thought that one was probably gonna be like up
- 4:45Speaker 3: closer to the up closer to the top. I mean,
- 4:47Speaker 3: I wasn't surprised that Too Little Too Late and the
- 4:49Speaker 3: Cali Buds.
- 4:49Speaker 1: Were up there.
- 4:51Speaker 3: But when we were when we were initially writing, actually
- 4:55Speaker 3: because too Little Too Late was one of the last
- 4:56Speaker 3: songs that we wrote on the album, that one was
- 4:59Speaker 3: actually like we were already like in the studio when
- 5:01Speaker 3: we wrote that one. So like, throughout the whole process
- 5:05Speaker 3: of actually writing the album, X Marks the Spot personally
- 5:08Speaker 3: was always kind of like at the top of that list.
- 5:10Speaker 3: And then and then Too Little Too Late came in
- 5:12Speaker 3: and happened, and that one kind of like swiftly took
- 5:15Speaker 3: that top spot of I was like, Okay, I think
- 5:17Speaker 3: this is this will be like, you know, like the song,
- 5:20Speaker 3: whereas like Calie Buds was a little more of like, Okay,
- 5:22Speaker 3: people who were like familiar with Skylet are really gonna.
- 5:25Speaker 1: Like Callie Buds.
- 5:27Speaker 3: Whereas like I kind of felt that way about X
- 5:29Speaker 3: Marks the Spot too, where that one, that one I
- 5:32Speaker 3: felt like kind of like sat between those two personally.
- 5:36Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, And so does it blow your mind when
- 5:39Speaker 4: like there's certain songs that you guys make and you
- 5:43Speaker 4: don't really expect much of it and then they do,
- 5:45Speaker 4: as you said, like they get really big.
- 5:49Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, I mean I've definitely seen it before.
- 5:51Speaker 3: I mean, uh, you know, like when we did just
- 5:55Speaker 3: Stay on Rise, you know, that was of course like
- 5:58Speaker 3: a very very you know, like a very person song
- 6:00Speaker 3: to me, and we had never really done like a
- 6:02Speaker 3: ballad type thing before, so that was really fun to try.
- 6:04Speaker 3: I've always been like a sucker for like the monster
- 6:06Speaker 3: ballads and stuff, so that was like fun to just
- 6:10Speaker 3: you know, try something completely out of our comfort level,
- 6:14Speaker 3: you know, and even kind of like looking through it
- 6:16Speaker 3: like you know, you know, like top streaming songs. I'm
- 6:19Speaker 3: pretty sure just Stay is like the number two song
- 6:21Speaker 3: off that album.
- 6:22Speaker 1: Yea.
- 6:23Speaker 3: You know, I kind of figured that Rise would be
- 6:25Speaker 3: like the like flagship song, but then just Stay was
- 6:28Speaker 3: like right behind it.
- 6:30Speaker 2: Yeah, crazy, isn't it?
- 6:32Speaker 4: And are there any Australian bands or artists you've connected
- 6:35Speaker 4: with or drawn inspiration from over the ease?
- 6:39Speaker 1: I can't say specifically.
- 6:41Speaker 3: I'm not sure if maybe any of the bands, if
- 6:44Speaker 3: anybody's you know, you know, from Australia.
- 6:47Speaker 1: I'm also kind of like a grump when it comes
- 6:49Speaker 1: to music.
- 6:50Speaker 3: I'm like, you know, I'm in like the latter part
- 6:53Speaker 3: of my years and everything, and I've always kind of
- 6:55Speaker 3: like stuck to you know, like everybody kind of goes
- 6:58Speaker 3: through those formulative years of the music that like kind
- 7:01Speaker 3: of like grew up with you, and I kind of
- 7:04Speaker 3: always use that music as like my basis of like,
- 7:07Speaker 3: you know, like what music I ended up getting into.
- 7:09Speaker 3: So so it's kind of harder for me to get
- 7:12Speaker 3: into newer bands. Yeah, so I can't say specifically if
- 7:17Speaker 3: any of them, you know, are Australian based. You know,
- 7:19Speaker 3: I should probably do more homework on it, you know,
- 7:23Speaker 3: I you know, get caught up with so many other things.
- 7:25Speaker 2: You know, that's totally understandable.
- 7:29Speaker 4: What was What were some of the bands that originally
- 7:32Speaker 4: inspired you guys?
- 7:35Speaker 3: I mean, everybody you know really took inspiration from different places.
- 7:39Speaker 3: You know, me personally, I didn't take a lot of
- 7:41Speaker 3: inspiration musically from a lot of bands. I always wanted
- 7:44Speaker 3: to kind of organically let things happen versus having something
- 7:47Speaker 3: sound familiar to something that somebody else was doing.
- 7:50Speaker 1: So I mean, if I took it, you know, like inspiration.
- 7:53Speaker 3: It was generally from like music that was like nowhere
- 7:57Speaker 3: near like what we were doing, you know, more of
- 7:59Speaker 3: like the classic rock artists. Like again, I was really
- 8:01Speaker 3: in all the big Monster ballads, so you know, I
- 8:03Speaker 3: was a big Kiss fan as a kid, and they
- 8:05Speaker 3: always just wrote you know, you know, bop after bop
- 8:09Speaker 3: and even you know, you know, like all of the
- 8:12Speaker 3: Guns N' Roses and Quiet Riot and you know, all
- 8:14Speaker 3: these big anthem bands.
- 8:16Speaker 1: I was like, you know, Journey, I was you know,
- 8:18Speaker 1: like a huge fan of.
- 8:21Speaker 3: But like you know, esthetically and stuff like, I feel
- 8:24Speaker 3: like I took more from movies, you know, like I
- 8:26Speaker 3: really like, you know, like soundtracks from movies and just
- 8:30Speaker 3: like the you know, esthetic and the vibes from movies,
- 8:34Speaker 3: you know. Always I always kind of gravitated towards you know,
- 8:37Speaker 3: like a little more, and even video games, you know,
- 8:40Speaker 3: like some of the you know, some of like the
- 8:42Speaker 3: like textures and so on from like movies and video games.
- 8:46Speaker 3: I kind of feel like I pulled more from than
- 8:48Speaker 3: other music.
- 8:50Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 8:50Speaker 4: Yeah, interesting, I find with you guys and a lot
- 8:54Speaker 4: of other bands in the sort of emo sub genre,
- 8:57Speaker 4: it's like you can take a look at all these
- 8:59Speaker 4: bands and think, oh, well they must have been inspired
- 9:01Speaker 4: by them and them, but no, a lot of them
- 9:04Speaker 4: were inspired by movies and like things totally with nothing
- 9:08Speaker 4: to do with the genre at all.
- 9:10Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 9:10Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, we're like a lot of it, you know, like,
- 9:13Speaker 3: you know, I've even taken inspirations from like from like
- 9:16Speaker 3: commercial jingles before, which I mean like, I mean like
- 9:19Speaker 3: they're clearly doing something right. You end up walking around
- 9:22Speaker 3: and you're like, why am I singing that jingle from
- 9:24Speaker 3: this commercial I saw like.
- 9:25Speaker 1: A month ago?
- 9:26Speaker 3: Yeah, and uh, you know, even if it's just like
- 9:30Speaker 3: you know, like the smallest little inkling of inspiration that
- 9:33Speaker 3: you take from it and then you just kind of
- 9:34Speaker 3: like march on with it with your own idea.
- 9:37Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, that's so cool.
- 9:39Speaker 4: And speaking about music as well, what bands are you
- 9:44Speaker 4: listening to at the Is there any new bands that
- 9:46Speaker 4: you're really into at the moment.
- 9:48Speaker 3: I mean, the one current band that I've been like
- 9:51Speaker 3: mostly listening to that I've just been like, you know,
- 9:54Speaker 3: very impressed with is the band day Seeker. Just you know,
- 9:58Speaker 3: you know, again using word you know, esthetic and vibe
- 10:02Speaker 3: of things. I just really like the you know, the
- 10:04Speaker 3: angle that they're taking things from and I'm big on singers,
- 10:07Speaker 3: you know, like I kind of I kind of have
- 10:08Speaker 3: to be you know, I'm always, like you like, pushing myself,
- 10:11Speaker 3: not just range wise, but you know, like different things
- 10:13Speaker 3: that I can do, and I can always you know,
- 10:17Speaker 3: admire and uh and you know, and you know, give
- 10:22Speaker 3: ones roses when I feel like they're due and uh.
- 10:25Speaker 3: And that's a band that I feel like really just
- 10:27Speaker 3: hits the nail on the head for all the things
- 10:29Speaker 3: that they're going for esthetically, musically, vocally, lyrically. You know,
- 10:33Speaker 3: they are a current band who I think, are you
- 10:35Speaker 3: know doing awesome things? Yeah?
- 10:37Speaker 2: Yeah, that's awesome.
- 10:38Speaker 4: And has much changed for you personally when you warmed
- 10:43Speaker 4: up in the early days compared to now before going
- 10:46Speaker 4: on stage or is it kind of similar?
- 10:49Speaker 3: I mean I've gone through so many different like phases
- 10:51Speaker 3: where like, of course, back when it started, I was
- 10:53Speaker 3: like warm ups, what's that? And you know, I'd sit
- 10:56Speaker 3: there and I talk constantly after shows and then lose
- 10:58Speaker 3: my voice and I'm like, why is is happening? And
- 11:02Speaker 3: you know, like I've gone to like a few different
- 11:04Speaker 3: vocal coaches who have helped me out, given me different pointers,
- 11:07Speaker 3: like at one point, I I went and saw Melissa Cross.
- 11:11Speaker 1: She does the whole zen of screaming.
- 11:13Speaker 3: And I've seen like a few different others, like no
- 11:15Speaker 3: one consistently where I regimentally saw them like once a week.
- 11:18Speaker 3: It was generally I saw them once and then I
- 11:20Speaker 3: just you know, took something helpful away from like what
- 11:22Speaker 3: they were showing me, like whether it was like breathing techniques,
- 11:28Speaker 3: you know, you know, just like thinking of the proper
- 11:31Speaker 3: muscles and everything. It's the same with like exercising, you know,
- 11:33Speaker 3: it's not as simple as just moving the weight. You know.
- 11:35Speaker 3: It's the same with singing. You know, like you got
- 11:38Speaker 3: to be you know, you know, like kind of that
- 11:40Speaker 3: muscle mind connection of using the right things at the
- 11:43Speaker 3: right time. But I've definitely changed like how I prepare
- 11:47Speaker 3: for shows.
- 11:49Speaker 1: You know.
- 11:49Speaker 3: There's also so many different like tools now that you
- 11:51Speaker 3: can use. You know, like back in the day, the
- 11:54Speaker 3: only thing that you had to like breathe steam is
- 11:56Speaker 3: these clunky personal steamers. You put water in it, and
- 12:00Speaker 3: it was just a nightmare if you tried to use
- 12:02Speaker 3: it in a vehicle because it literally has boiling water
- 12:04Speaker 3: in it. So it was like kind of terrifying where
- 12:07Speaker 3: now they have like vocal nebulizers they've got you know,
- 12:10Speaker 3: like the doctor Vox thing, which is I don't know
- 12:13Speaker 3: like if you've seen those, but you know essentially it's
- 12:17Speaker 3: you know, warming up through through like a straw and
- 12:20Speaker 3: water so that you get kind of the back pressure
- 12:23Speaker 3: to kind of like work your vocal cords.
- 12:27Speaker 1: So yeah, there's so many different things that are fun
- 12:28Speaker 1: to try.
- 12:30Speaker 3: But I try to not warm up too much, you know,
- 12:32Speaker 3: just enough to where I'm like, okay, I feel good.
- 12:34Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 12:35Speaker 3: But when I'm out there, I try to be mindful
- 12:37Speaker 3: of how much I'm talking, you know, how I'm talking,
- 12:40Speaker 3: if I'm you know, not over talking or you know,
- 12:43Speaker 3: not putting myself in environments where I feel like I
- 12:45Speaker 3: need to overspeak. Yeah, So you know, because of course
- 12:50Speaker 3: i'm out there, the top priority is that you know,
- 12:52Speaker 3: hour or forty minutes or fifty minutes that I'm on stage,
- 12:56Speaker 3: you know, like that's why I'm there, and that's why
- 12:58Speaker 3: everybody's showing up as they want to, you know, they
- 13:00Speaker 3: want to see these these songs performed.
- 13:03Speaker 2: Yeah, Yeah, that's it.
- 13:04Speaker 4: It's good to hear that you do protect your voice
- 13:06Speaker 4: and you really think about it.
- 13:09Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm always probably overly mindful.
- 13:13Speaker 2: Yeah, no, it's good.
- 13:14Speaker 4: And when you're not making music, what's something completely unexpected
- 13:18Speaker 4: you love doing.
- 13:21Speaker 1: I'm big on like DIY projects.
- 13:23Speaker 3: I was I you know, I'd say ten years ago,
- 13:26Speaker 3: I didn't have a handy bone in my body, and
- 13:30Speaker 3: in the last ten years or so, I've you know,
- 13:32Speaker 3: I've gotten way more handy and just you know, like
- 13:37Speaker 3: just things around the house and projects and stuff. I like,
- 13:39Speaker 3: you like woodworking type stuff and different projects. You know,
- 13:43Speaker 3: we see things or like one of our girls is like, oh,
- 13:46Speaker 3: like that'd be cool to have a wall like that.
- 13:47Speaker 3: It's like I can find out how to do that. Yeah,
- 13:51Speaker 3: And uh and I've done it enough times where it's like, oh,
- 13:53Speaker 3: I actually know how to do these things now. So yeah,
- 13:57Speaker 3: that's probably me is you know, if I'm not working
- 13:59Speaker 3: on music, I'm working on some kind of project or
- 14:01Speaker 3: you know, building something for our house or you know,
- 14:05Speaker 3: just you know, trying to improve you know, our home somehow.
- 14:09Speaker 2: Yeah that's awesome. What a hand you'd like hobby to have?
- 14:12Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, that's wicked.
- 14:15Speaker 4: And what's one piece of advice you'd give your younger
- 14:18Speaker 4: self back when the band was just starting out?
- 14:21Speaker 3: Oh, I guess, don't make rash decisions, you know. You know,
- 14:26Speaker 3: just because it's the first option doesn't mean it's the
- 14:28Speaker 3: right option, you know, And just just because somebody is
- 14:31Speaker 3: giving you an option doesn't mean that you have to
- 14:33Speaker 3: take it.
- 14:35Speaker 1: You know.
- 14:35Speaker 3: Just be smart, you know, seek advice more often than
- 14:40Speaker 3: you than you think you should. And yeah, just be
- 14:43Speaker 3: just be better about your decision making.
- 14:46Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, good advice.
- 14:48Speaker 4: And is there anything that you can remember that was
- 14:52Speaker 4: the weirdest thing or the coolest thing that you've been
- 14:55Speaker 4: given to by a fan?
- 14:58Speaker 3: Oh man, there was one time, I think it was
- 14:59Speaker 3: the first we were on Warp Tour. Someone made us
- 15:03Speaker 3: these like individual dolls, so they made one for each
- 15:08Speaker 3: of us and it was like so intricate and so cool.
- 15:12Speaker 3: I don't think I have it anymore. I think it
- 15:14Speaker 3: ended up getting broken, unfortunately in one of my moves,
- 15:17Speaker 3: along with many other things that get broken in moves.
- 15:20Speaker 3: But it was so cool, like all the thought that
- 15:22Speaker 3: they put into everything. Like at the time, I had,
- 15:24Speaker 3: you know, like my lip piercings and everything, and someone had.
- 15:27Speaker 1: Facial hairs a little more or.
- 15:30Speaker 3: Like you know, almost like someone would like build you know,
- 15:33Speaker 3: like an emoji for themselves now and they're like, oh, well,
- 15:35Speaker 3: like I wear these types of clothes or these types
- 15:38Speaker 3: of accessories.
- 15:38Speaker 1: Someone include this into my into my emoji.
- 15:43Speaker 3: So yeah, yeah, like that was probably that was probably
- 15:46Speaker 3: like the most like thoughtful gift that I that I
- 15:49Speaker 3: recall seeing and then like I've gotten the other stuff,
- 15:51Speaker 3: you know, like really well done, like you know, like
- 15:53Speaker 3: drawings or paintings that I actually still have. They're in storage,
- 15:57Speaker 3: but I can think of certain ones that that I
- 16:00Speaker 3: still have to this day.
- 16:02Speaker 2: Oh that's lovely. So you definitely don't throw any.
- 16:04Speaker 1: Of the mouth No, no, no, no no.
- 16:07Speaker 3: If I if I can keep it, I take it
- 16:09Speaker 3: the only times where I wouldn't be able to and
- 16:11Speaker 3: maybe somebody else has it. Is like if I had
- 16:13Speaker 3: to fly, like if you know, at the end of
- 16:15Speaker 3: a run, if it's like too big and I'm like,
- 16:17Speaker 3: well I can't physically take.
- 16:19Speaker 1: It with me, so somebody else has to take it.
- 16:21Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, no, And touring can get pretty wild. Is
- 16:25Speaker 4: there a strange or funny moment that you recall that
- 16:28Speaker 4: you'd like to share with us?
- 16:30Speaker 2: All?
- 16:32Speaker 3: There's one actually kind of recently, is is kind of funny.
- 16:34Speaker 3: We were we were staying the night in El Paso, Texas,
- 16:40Speaker 3: and we were on our way to start one of
- 16:42Speaker 3: the one of the runs over the last couple of years,
- 16:44Speaker 3: and I go in to check us into a hotel
- 16:47Speaker 3: and there's already like a couple in there waiting and
- 16:50Speaker 3: they seem really really annoyed, and the phone at the
- 16:52Speaker 3: front desk is just ringing off the hook and it's playing.
- 16:55Speaker 1: This eerie pop music that's very.
- 16:57Speaker 3: Quiet, like in the lobby, and but it was just
- 17:00Speaker 3: eerily quiet, and just it just felt strange. And I
- 17:04Speaker 3: was standing there just waiting for someone to come out,
- 17:06Speaker 3: and I turn I look at them and I was like,
- 17:08Speaker 3: are you you guys waiting to check it? And like,
- 17:10Speaker 3: oh yeah, we've already been here for thirty minutes. And
- 17:12Speaker 3: I was like, you guys, and you guys have just
- 17:14Speaker 3: been standing here like you guys. And they're like, well,
- 17:16Speaker 3: the whole reason that the phone's ringing. They showed me
- 17:18Speaker 3: their phone. They're like, that's us trying to call thinking
- 17:20Speaker 3: that somebody will come out because they hear the phone ringing.
- 17:23Speaker 3: And so I just start kind of walking around the
- 17:25Speaker 3: whole first level of the hotel trying to find anybody
- 17:28Speaker 3: that works there because it is a little bit later,
- 17:31Speaker 3: you know, in you know, like the evening to check in,
- 17:34Speaker 3: and I just can't find anybody. And I kind of
- 17:38Speaker 3: at that point, I was like, well, I'm just going
- 17:39Speaker 3: to go behind the desk because I was like, now I.
- 17:41Speaker 1: Feel like something's wrong.
- 17:42Speaker 3: Like I was like somebody elderly and like they're hurt
- 17:45Speaker 3: and like and they can't get to us. So I
- 17:49Speaker 3: kind of go back into the back area and uh,
- 17:51Speaker 3: I get back back like past the first door, and
- 17:54Speaker 3: it is pitch black in this place, but it and
- 17:56Speaker 3: I could see down this long hallway and there's almost
- 17:59Speaker 3: no lights on, and I was like, I'm going to
- 18:00Speaker 3: get at least one of my guys to have my
- 18:03Speaker 3: back before I go down this hallway. So I go,
- 18:05Speaker 3: and I get one of my guys and I'm like,
- 18:07Speaker 3: you stand guard at this entrance, and I'm going to
- 18:09Speaker 3: go down and check these doors. And it's while I'm
- 18:13Speaker 3: going down that hall the guy just comes out of nowhere,
- 18:16Speaker 3: like around like some other corner, and I hear him
- 18:19Speaker 3: talking to the couple, and then me and my guy
- 18:22Speaker 3: pop out the door behind him, like you where you
- 18:25Speaker 3: thought he would have come from? And he give he
- 18:27Speaker 3: gives us. This really startled confused. Look, and we're like, where.
- 18:30Speaker 1: Have you been. He's like, oh, I was.
- 18:31Speaker 3: I was helping an elderly guest who fell where It's
- 18:35Speaker 3: like that was like an hour ago. And this guy,
- 18:39Speaker 3: you know, he came across like he was up to
- 18:41Speaker 3: something else. You know. I'll leave it at that, but
- 18:43Speaker 3: I was like, I don't think you were helping. You
- 18:45Speaker 3: were helping someone, but not what you're saying. Yeah, It's
- 18:51Speaker 3: like I believe you were with someone else, but I
- 18:53Speaker 3: don't think it was what you're saying.
- 18:58Speaker 1: Yeah. So I'm glad nobody was hurt, but it was. Yeah,
- 19:02Speaker 1: it was. It was a very weird situation.
- 19:04Speaker 2: Range and you always wonder what were they doing exactly?
- 19:08Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm sure I don't want to know.
- 19:10Speaker 2: You don't know.
- 19:11Speaker 4: Yeah, And is new music on the way for you guys?
- 19:15Speaker 4: Or is this too about celebrating the legacy of what
- 19:17Speaker 4: a Skylight Skylit Drive has built.
- 19:21Speaker 3: I mean it's really a little bit of everything, you know,
- 19:23Speaker 3: you know, like we built the set around you know,
- 19:26Speaker 3: not just the old fans, not just the fans from
- 19:28Speaker 3: you know, middle of the pack or the newer fans. Yeah,
- 19:30Speaker 3: like there's a little bit for everybody, and and that
- 19:33Speaker 3: is really a big focus right now this year as
- 19:35Speaker 3: we are working on new music and you know, just
- 19:38Speaker 3: you know, trying to get as much you know, under
- 19:41Speaker 3: our belts as possible so that we can you know,
- 19:44Speaker 3: really put a new face to the name.
- 19:47Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, awesome.
- 19:48Speaker 4: And last question, who was your first GIEG that you
- 19:52Speaker 4: ever went to?
- 19:54Speaker 1: My first was Kiss. Yeah, I was eleven.
- 19:58Speaker 3: It was their Reuni tour, so like they all got
- 20:01Speaker 3: back together, they put their makeup back on and uh yeah,
- 20:04Speaker 3: I like made my own shirt and did the Gene
- 20:06Speaker 3: Simmons makeup and everything.
- 20:08Speaker 1: So it just that completely changed everything.
- 20:10Speaker 3: So yeah, see the first show I went to was
- 20:13Speaker 3: really like just life changing for me.
- 20:16Speaker 2: That sounds it. That's amazing. How cool?
- 20:19Speaker 1: Yeah it was pretty great.
- 20:21Speaker 2: Oh wicked.
- 20:21Speaker 4: Oh Michael, it's been so lovely speaking with you. We
- 20:24Speaker 4: can't wait to see you guys soon. Thank you so much.
- 20:28Speaker 1: Yeah, thank you. Angela, the same to you.
